There was something wrong with you. You could tell ever since you left the tea party. Actually before then. It was the reason you left, you couldn't stand being there anymore, with your head spinning, body getting so hot you had to take off your uniform jacket and loosen up your bowtie to make breathing easier. It didn't help. Maybe a cold shower would do, if not, maybe one of the toys you had hidden away in your closet.
"Are you sure you're feeling alright? I could escort you back if you're sick." Riddle was the first one to notice how bad you were looking. It was his party so naturally he wanted to keep an eye on all the attendees.
"No, no!" The moment his voice reached your ears the throbbing and heat became nearly too much to handle. You had an urge to push him down, kiss him, tell him about every sinful fantasy you've ever had and beg for him to be the to fulfill them. "I swear I'm alright, I think I may have caught something. But I can make it back on my own."
None of the boys seemed to happy about that. You promised you'd call one of them when you're in your room and let them know you're fine. That was an hour ago. How could you get so lost in the labyrinth? Riddle didn't change it, as far as you knew. Every turn seemed to lead nowhere. Left, right, going back, nothing worked. You were simply lost. Lost and so painfully horny.
"Oh my, are you still here?" When did Riddle get behind you? Was he here to help you? "I thought I sensed someone here. What's the matter? Are you lost?" He walked up to you with the grace of a ruler, his crown perfectly in place, staff twirled in his hand and a very amused smile on his lips. So fucking sexy. "You're making a puddle. Hm, perhaps I put in a little too much." He frowned for a moment but then shrugged it off, like it didn't seem like vital information.
"Too much? What do you-" He took your hand in his, his touch and lips so hot they hurt your skin. It was nothing compared to the vines and thorns that crept up behind you and bound you up against the labyrinth wall. "Riddle? What's going on? What are you doing? Let me go!"
"Unfortunately I can't do that, my sweet rose. What you consumed in your tea was a very powerful aphrodisiac. I should have considered the dosage more carefully. I'm sorry for putting you through that, but it's alright, I'm here to help you now. I'll make it all better." His little chuckle sent a shiver down your spine, and not the nice kind. Your mind was torn, run or ask him to help?
Help? He just admitted he was the reason this was happening! But he was also the one offering to help. No, he was the one in the wrong here!
While you had your inner turmoil you didn't notice him undoing his pants and starting to stroke his cock, "I took some too you see. You're not alone, you'll never be alone again with me around. I'll take care of you, I'll be the best boyfriend you've ever had." Another sinister laugh left his mouth, his eyes blown wide, the crown now slightly on its side, "I've been waiting for this." Riddle used the top of his staff to spread your legs and move your panties to the side. The cold ruby pressed against your aching clit, the sound that left your body a cross between a moan and a pained whine. "Hurts right? I'll make you better love, I'll make it all better."
His cock came as sweet relief to your empty pussy, "Riddle..." You could barely think about anything, everything felt like it was too much, but his cock... it was perfect and just what you needed.
"Did you just come?" Riddle looked so happy with himself, his hips barely moving while he waited for your pussy to stop fluttering around his length. "I just put it in. You must have been suffering without my cock."
"I didn't. I didn't come." It was shameful to admit otherwise. This wasn't what you wanted to happen, how you wanted it to happen. "Not like this." You turned your face from him but your mouth still moaned when he thrust into you, "Don't... please stop moving... it's too much for me." Riddle never listened to anyone, you weren't about to change the King's mind either.
"I love you, I love dearest. Don't you see? I love you so much. After I saw you on my first party I had to get close to you, but you always hung around everyone else. You wouldn't even sit next to me!" You heard him yell before, a lot in fact, this was a different tone, broken, desperate, "Please understand. Understand how much I love you, I'm helping you realize it. Please."
What should have sounded like the unhinged ramblings of a madman wormed their way into your heard, warped your mind, made you finally look at him.
"Finally. You're looking, you're looking at me! Look down here too! See how well your pussy takes my cock? It's greedy! It wants this! You want this! You want me as much as I want you! Don't you?! Don't you, my beautiful rose?!" The warmth at the pit of your stomach returned at full force, the loud, crazy sound of his voice and the look in his eyes, burning lust and devotion reflecting your flushed face with such clarity, as well as how clouded your mind had become.
"I do love you." Riddle's face lit up with glee, the words freeing you of doubt that you weren't sure why it was there in the first place. Riddle was helping you, who are you to refuse his help? "I love you." You chuckled, "I've loved you for so long." Another laugher, a little bit louder, "Riddle."
Your back arched as far as it was able, stars dancing in front of your eyes, pussy twitching around Riddle's hard cock. "You're so tight! I'll make this one better for you! I'll make your cunt feel so good, let me fill it up." Your constant stream of pleas was only broken when you felt it, his cock emptying inside your, ropes of it painting your sensitive inner walls.
When he leaned against you to catch his breath you'd noticed the tight pressure around your wrists release. Now you were free to hold him, and he was free to hold you, now that you were fully complaint.
"Let's take you back to my castle. After today I think we should start moving your things there. And maybe inform the Principle that you'll be doing online classes only. I don't want anyone else laying their eyes or hands on you." Riddle gathered you in his arms, your body fully limp against him, pussy still pulsing with need around his cock, "There, there. You'll get more, don't you worry." He pressed a kiss to your lips, sealing his promise. The two of you began your way back through the maze, Riddle's crown forgotten where you'd just been.

You sighed. “Riddle is so smart.”
Trey glanced over at you, bewildered. “Where did this come from?”
Shrugging, you went back to the tart you were making. “Just an observation, that’s all.”
“Right…”
“Well, he is smart.”
“He is.” Trey furrowed his brows. “This has nothing to do with you failing Professor Trein’s history of magic class, right?”
You glared at him. “I’m not failing his class! I’m just not doing as well as I like.”
“Alright, alright. So are you going to ask him to tutor you?”
Shrugging again, you answered, “I don’t know. I don’t think the cooking club can handle not having their president around.”
He laughed. “Schedule your tutoring sessions around your meetings.”
Playfully hip-checking him as you put your tart ub the oven, you shot back, “Don’t you think I’ve thought of that? Besides, it’s just easier if I tell myself that’s the reason why I haven’t talked to him  instead of facing his crushing rejection.”
“Oh please. He’s not going to reject you. He could never reject you.” Trey shook his head with a knowing smile.
You narrowed your eyes at him. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
He held his hands up in mock surrender. “I’ve said too much, But let me give you some advice. When that tart is done, offer it to him and ask him to tutor you. His answer might just surprise you.”
Rolling your eyes, you flicked some flour at him. “Yeah. He’ll apologize and tell me just how busy he is and that he can’t help me.”
“Perhaps. Perhaps not. You’ll never know if you don’t ask.”
And that’s how you ended up in front of Riddle’s door, a strawberry-kiwi tart in your hand. If Trey hadn’t been so insistent on you giving it to Riddle, you would have left it for Ace and Deuce to enjoy. But there was no turning back now, not if you didn’t want to be relentlessly teased by Trey.
You knocked once and he opened the door. “Oh! Y/n! To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?”
“I made a new tart I thought you’d like.” You showed him.
“Oh, thank you.” He hesitated for a second before asking, “Would you like to come in?”
You were surprised by his sudden hospitality and nodded. He gestured for you to take a seat. He sat  across from you and watched as you cut him a slice of the tart. When you handed it to him, he took a bite.
“My, this is exceptional!” He looked at you with a bright, sincere smile. “I expected nothing less from the ever extraordinary cooking club president! You are truly astonishing!”
An awkward giggle escaped you. “Ah, thanks.”
“You’re so pretty.”
Your jaw dropped. “Pardon?”
He smiled dreamily at you, one hand keeping his chin propped up. “Then again, you’ve always been so pretty. When are you not?”
“Uh, I’m not sure-”
“I’ve always wondered what it would be like if I held your hand.” His eyes seemed to sparkle at the thought. “Can I?”
“Riddle, are you-”
“So it’s working!” Trey’s voice came from Riddle’s doorway. Catching your confused look, he let out a nervous chuckle. “I may or may not have slipped a truth potion in your tart to give to Riddle.”
“TREY!”
“Hey, neither of you were ever going to make a move. Someone had to intervene.” He then added under his breath, “And Cater’s scissors beat paper.”
“You weren’t sure if you should be offended or embarrassed. However your train of thought was interrupted by Riddle twisting a lock of your hair around his finger. Your face practically burst into flames at his seemingly innocent action.
“Wow, Y/n. You have no idea how much I love you.”
“Well, it sounds like you two have a lot to talk about.” Trey winked at you. “I’ll leave you to it.”
You were about to chase after him when you glanced back at Riddle. You could practically see the hearts in his eyes. Perhaps you could give him a five minute head start. He did give you a shot of courage to tell Riddle how you felt about him after all.

as the clock strikes midnight

GenderNeutral!Cinderella!Reader x Riddle Rosehearts
Night Raven College was hosting a big dance to celebrate the end of the year, your stepmom had only bought dresses for your step-siblings and had told you to focus on your studies. A faerie took pity on you, seeing you all alone as your siblings departed, and she had given you everything you could of dreamed for, the perfect outfit and the perfect carriage to get you to your destination with one clause, at midnight it would all disappear and revert to what it once was.
notes: this was originally supposed to be drabbles for all the housewardens but i got kinda carried away with Riddle's, so let me know if you'd be interested in seeing that or even a part two of this!
content: one singular curse word, established friendship, mutual pining, reader is written as a second year, if he seems ooc i apologize it's my first time writing for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The dance was going swimmingly, lively music surrounded by your friends and dancing the night away. The only lingering stress on your mind was watching the clock, the nightmare of your outfit and carriage coming all undone in front of everyone terrified you.
But alas the thought left your mind as your friends had upon your arrival dragged you to the dance floor immediately. You had spotted Cater taking pictures and videos of everything and somewhere you could of sworn you saw Rook staring at you... But that didn't matter at this moment.
Dancing with your friends eventually got tiring so you waved to them as you walked off the dance floor, heading over to the refreshments table alone and grabbing yourself a glass of punch, the red liquid sloshing in the glass as you poured it in.
"Glad to see you donning proper ball attire." You heard a familiar voice muse behind you. Turning you met gazes with Riddle, his silver eyes shining under the bright lights. "You'd be surprised at how many students I've seen in casual clothes, it's so disgraceful to the college." He sighed and picked up a glass, taking the ladle from your hands and scooping some punch into his own glass.
"Good to see you too Riddle. You look nice, white compliments you." You smiled at the red haired male who's cheeks seemed to light up to the same color as his hair from the compliment. He did look amazing, donning a mostly white suit with a red vest and tucked into the suits breast pocket was a singular red rose.
"Whatever, it is only right I dress my best for the event." He huffed, taking a sip from his glass.
"I would expect nothing less from you." You laughed and took a drink from your own glass, momentarily glancing up when you realized the songs had switched from fast paced music to slower musical pieces.
Riddle seemed to notice too, gaze following yours before he cleared his throat. "Since the opportunity has presented itself it would be a shame to let it go to waste, would you care for a dance?"
Looking back at the redhead you nodded with a small smile, pretending not to notice the breath of relief that left Riddle's lips. You two set your glasses down after finishing your drinks and Riddle offered you his arm, leading you out to the dance floor elegantly.
His right hand settled onto your hip and his other took your hand into his gently. Bringing your own hand up to settle onto his shoulder and throwing the now blushing boy a smile you two began to dance around the room.
Surprisingly, Riddle seemed to be quite a good dancer. Light on his feet and he guided you around the room elegantly.
"Didn't know you could dance." You muttered to him, knowing he could hear you due to the close proximity of your faces.
Riddle let out a small hum from your comment, looking at you and smiling. "I asked Trey to teach me. I had planned on asking you to dance with me tonight."
"Oh?" You smiled, tilting your head slightly at him. "And why would that be?"
"I decided tonight would be a perfect time to tell you I like you." The boy spoke, tone soft as he looked at you. His cheeks were burning with his signature red blush but his face still seemed soft. "I fell for you, your kindness and patience took me."
His words took you by surprise, out of all people to ever confess to you Riddle had to be one of the people who ranked lowest on your least likely to list you had in your mind.
The confession wasn't unwelcome, you had liked Riddle for a while yourself. After helping him with his overblot you had originally been left with a sour taste in your mouth from the male, but seeing how determined he was to change and get better after that made you admire him a lot.
"(Y/N), you there?" Riddle spoke, voice sounding a tad smug as you looked back at him. "Normally your silence might put me off but your burning face reassures me I seemed to have just flustered you."
Clearing your throat you nodded, nervously smiling at him as it was a bit embarrassing to randomly space off. "I like you too, a lot."
Riddles hand moved up from your waist momentarily to brush a stray piece of hair back into place, hand soon returning and you noted how he pulled you closer.
"That is lovely to hear, then I suppose if I were to ask you to be mine I would be met with a positive response?" He asked softly, gaze meeting yours.
You shrugged a bit, a playful smile growing on your lips as you looked up at him. "I don't know, try asking and lets see."
Riddle seemed unamused from your answer, huffing a bit with a slight roll of his eyes. "You have begun to hang out with Ace and Deuce too much." He sighed and looked back at you. Your eyes seemed to be playing tricks on you, his eyes looked softer. "Will you be my partner?"
"I will Riddle." You said softly, pulling him in closer to you. His gaze flickered down to your lips for a moment before he quickly looked away.
"May I... Kiss you?" He asked slowly, gaze returning to yours to see your answer. His grey eyes lit up as you nodded your head at his request.
Ever so slowly he leaned in closer to you, his breath fanning across your lips for a moment as you let your eyes shut. The moment was only interrupted by a loud chime from the clock. You pulled away from him in a panic, glancing at the clock only to realize it was midnight.
"Shit." You whispered and despite Riddle's concerned yells you turned on your heel and ran. You could hear his footsteps behind you as you ran out of the school and down the stairs.
Stumbling only for a moment you realize you lost a shoe, debating only for a moment you chose to keep running, back into the carriage that had brought you here and with a singular yell the doors slammed closed and the horses began to pull the carriage away with haste.
Tumblr media
Riddle was left stunned as he stood on the entrance of the school, watching your carriage drive away quickly. Concern clouded his mind from how panicked you seemed to be from the time, or maybe his proximity? He sighed a bit and was about to walk back inside before he paused when he saw your shoe on one of the steps.
Walking down the flight of stairs he took the shoe into his hand, gaze going back up to look at where your carriage once stood.
"(Y/N)..."

Broken Dream- Riddle Angst
A/N: Finished the Riddle angst first! Also will heavily preface that, unlike many of my other stories, this is not an x reader! There will be no mentions of reader/mc/yuu. This was a character study that i’ve been wanting to do of Riddle since I first started playing twst two years ago- I feel like people don’t really understand that abuse is a very complicated thing to understand- the love/hate balance is very sporadic for a lot of people and causes very conflicting feelings. It might be hard, but if you are in that situation please prioritize yourself and your own safety!
TW: Abuse, child abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse, death, grief
"Happy birthday, Riddle," The boy beams, looking up at his mother as his mouth waters at the sight of the tart in front of him. A tug in his chest that he covers with his frail hands, shaking slightly as he grips the silky fabric between his scrawny fingers.
Something was wrong.
"Is everything alright?" Riddle nods despite the lump in his throat, staring at the woman and taking in each and every one of her features. Sharp yet round gray eyes, crimson hair that was tied up neatly in a bun at the back of her head, strands falling from it as she moved to sit in the seat beside him, leaning over the table and smiling softly. Her eyebrows sat perfectly above her eyes, thin, arched and lining the faint wrinkles that lined her partially exposed forehead that trailed down into a short bridge that ended in a rounded tip of her nose. Her sharp cheekbones that shifted beneath her face as she made her different expressions. Riddle notices that her lipstick is smudged ever so slightly across her mouth, thin lips highlighted by the bright red, and that her mascara was clumped on her thin eyelashes.
Riddle beamed when he saw how beautiful his mother was, even with all the little imperfections he could make out. Her graceful smile made his shoulders slump as he felt relaxed, eyes watering for reasons unknown to him.
The small boy sits up in his chair as he excitedly watches his mother's delicate hands light the candles atop the strawberry tart, struggling to light the flame. As the lights dim, it makes the pastry glow as if a mirage in the middle of the desert. The candlelight dances over the glaze atop the perfectly red berries, the appearance shifting as he looks up at his mother, who grabs his hand and smiles warmly in a way that makes his chest flutter with comfort.
"Make a wish," She says quietly. Riddle shakes off the unease that creeps up his spine as he takes a deep breath and blows out the candles, the smoke dissipating across their dining room, taking his birthday wish with it.
"I wished that-"He begins excitedly, only to be hushed by the woman's delicate voicen, who chuckles warmly.
"It won't come true if you tell me-" She smiles, cutting a generous slice out of the tart and lifting it once a large plate, the edges decorated with a variety of roses and rabbits. Riddle bounces in his seat as he grins, picking up one of the fallen strawberries from the plate and popping it into his mouth. The cool sweetness spreads over his tastebuds and he allows his eyelids to flutter closed as he savors the flavor. The ceramic clinks as his mother places it in front of him, cutting a piece for herself and sitting beside him, the chair creaking across the floor softly.
She sits and chuckles at herself.
"What is it, Mama?"
"We shouldn't be eating in the dark," she stands. "I sat down too soon." Her son nods and watches as she turns the lights on and Riddle finds himself in a room that is so familiar to him, but also so very different from everything that he was used to. It was a small dining room, with bookshelves lined with fun trinkets and various cookbooks. The floral wallpaper was distracting against the worn mahogany furniture, various cracks and scrapes against the elegantly carved wood, and the floor beneath them was a lighter wood, speckled in various paint colors and light marks where it was clear that someone had tried to move furniture by sliding it rather than lifting it.
He sighs, hoping to calm his unease, and takes a shaky bite out of the tart, the flavor dull on his tongue, biting at his tastebuds painfully as he sputters and coughs, catching the attention of his mother, who shoots up out of her chair and rushes to his side, rubbing his back.
"Trey? Are you okay?" She hushes him, her voice laced with concern.
He smiles up at his mother, head throbbing as he catches her slip and eyebrow quicked in confusion as his smile falters slightly, eyes widening as he parts his lips in near disbelief.
"Mama! Please stop!" He pulls at the woman, sobbing as he grips her pencil skirt as she continues to berate the family in front of her. He hiccups and sobs as he pulls harder, earning a harsh smack on the back of his head that makes him sniffle harder as his arms fall limp at his side, not daring to meet his friend's eyes.
"T-Trey? Mama, I'm not-"
He watches in horror, heart caught in his throat as her face shifts, sharp features giving away to a softer face, long strands of emerald green spilling down her back as her thick eyebrows knit on her forehead. Her amber eyes meet his own as he scrambles away from her, framed with long green lashes.
"Trey, sweetie-"
"You're not-" The small boy sobs, chest throbbing as he tries to run away, feet stuck in place as he's confined to the wooden chair and, as a last resort, he screams.
The man shoots up in bed, gasping for air and sheets sticking to his sweaty form as he looks around in a frenzy, the back of his head throbbing as his hands paw and grab at the silk sheets that lay halfway over his legs, halfway on the floor. Riddle gasps, running his hand through his hair, as he tries to calm his shaking breaths, willing the tears to stop slipping down his face. His lungs refuse to offer him any solace as they constrict painfully, making the man cough painfully into the sheets, bending until his lower back aches and he presses his overheated face into the cool silk.
After a few moments, his breathing evens and he looks over to his alarm clock, reading seven a.m. Riddle bites his lip, a habit he'd picked up as he looks around his room, decorated with pictures of himself and his friends, lined with countless law books and files that are scattered on his bedside table- cases he would look through before bed.
They should be patient records, a small voice- his mother's voice- in the back of his head taunts, causing his heart to clench painfully as he slings his legs around the side of his bed, feet landing against the cold wooden floor and sending a shiver up his spine that seems to nestle deep within his bones. Shaking his head, he stands and walks over to the window, the glass icy to the touch as his hand brushes against it, pushing his curtains off to the side. He could never get used to how cold the Land of Pyroxene got in the winters, his entire neighborhood covered in a thick layer of snow. His warmth causes the window to fog up as he lightly brushes it away, pulling back his damp hand and staring out into the winter landscape.
The sun has barely risen above the horizon, causing the snow to glimmer as though it were coated in a thin sheen of silver that shines oranges and reds. Some of his neighbors are already out the door, their cars leaving deep indents in the snow as they drove off and flattened it to the pavement. His other neighbors were packing up their children for school, and if he listened closely he could hear them fighting their parents, begging to stay home because it was so warm within their home, and it was so, so cold outside.
Riddle stretches, trudging out the door to his bedroom and slinking into the bathroom. He stands in the water, tipping his head back and allowing the steaming water to soothe his racing mind. He tried to ignore how it left angry red streaks on his skin, so similar to the streaks that would be left on his arms after a study session with his mother. The cruel reminder makes his not-quite-healed callouses and marks on his hands throb in phantom pain, as though they were reminding him of who he really was.
A Rosehearts.
He shivers, jaw quivering as he struggles to wash himself off, seeing the warped reflection of himself in the chrome that covered the shower head and faucet.
Riddle tries to catch his breath, hands shaking as he washes his hair to the best of his ability and his throat stings from biting back so many tears that threaten to incapacitate him should he allow them to fall. He'd already cried so much, already had to take the day off work as he found no other way around it.
So why had the pressure continued building? Why does his heart still feel as though it were going to burst? Why does the pressure behind his head continue to throb and his stomach twist painfully, forcing his warm, homecooked meals back up at every opportunity as his lungs filled with water, spilling out with each cough and scream? He was drowning in his grief, a painful experience that filled his entire being with a dread that held him down like shackles.
Riddle was okay, he was fine now. He goes out with his coworkers once a week, talks with his friends from school at nearly every other opportunity, he tutors the neighborhood children who look up to him, kind neighbors and peers who accept him into their lives as though he were their family. He was in therapy twice a month, he journaled, and he did everything in his power to work through everything he had been through so why, why is he forced to relive those terrible moments and the guilt of cutting his mother out of his life even so many years later?
It had been nearly twenty years since he had last seen his mother. Twenty years after his graduation from NRC, twenty years since his acceptance into a well-respected law school in the Land of Pyroxene, twenty years since he filed his case against his own mother and moved away from the Rose Kingdom.
He was supposed to be safe here.
He steps out of the shower and sighs, drying himself off with his towel before looking up at the mirror.
Sharp yet round grey eyes. Wet, deep crimson hair dripped down his forehead and hung in damp strands loosely around his pale face.
He lifts his hand to his face, trailing over his own features, speechless as he gazed into his reflection.
Arched, thin eyebrows that sat perfectly atop his eyes, framing the light wrinkles he'd grown over the years.
Short nose that ended in a rounded point.
Sharp cheekbones.
Thin, red lips.
Riddle covers his mouth with his hand, letting out a pained, angry cry as he slams his fist against the mirror, the overwhelming feeling of recognition- the recognition of his greatest fear everpresent in his own features- too harsh for him to bear.
He hits the mirror again.
Again.
He's sobbing, his hands bleeding from the cracks in the mirror but he doesn't care. He screams, pain from decades of living with her ghost looking over at his shoulder boiling over and spilling out onto his bathroom tile in crimson streaks that were oh so mortifyingly similar to what distinguished his family from the rest of the world. His heart pounds as he hits the mirror again, voice catching in his throat as his jaw quivers, catching a glimpse of his own angry expression in the mirror.
Exactly as hers was all those years ago.
Riddle lets out another wrathful shout, slamming his fist into his reflection for the last time as the material shatters over his fist, falling to the floor with soft clinks as he collapses alongside them, knees screaming in agony as they're forced upon the glass shards that cause blood to run down his pale thighs and trickle into the grout beneath his usually pristine tiles.
"Riddle?" His head shoots up as he gasps, staring his friend in the eye. "Riddle, enough," Trey lightly helps him off the floor, the glass beneath his loafers cracking under his heels as he helps his friend out of the bathroom, the man's legs shaking as his jaw quivers.
Riddle can't find it in him to be embarrassed at his friend catching him naked and sobbing in a pile of broken glass, but his entire body continues to tremble as he's seated on his bed. Trey takes pity on him and throws him a towel as the redhead stares at the floor, tears spilling down his cheeks silently.
Riddle feels the bed dip as the larger man sits beside him.
"Are you okay?"
"Why are you here?" Riddle speaks softly, voice breaking midway through as he clenches his still bloodied hands in his lap.
"You're my best friend," Trey explains softly, grabbing his hand. "Che'nya should be arriving soon too."
Riddle opts to stay silent as he watches the baker disappear into the bathroom and return with his first aid kid, pulling the broken glass out of the smaller man's knees, the sting and tugs of the actions doing little to snap him out of his haze.
"We're all worried about you," Trey explains softly, applying the bandages to his knees. "Everyone from NRC, and Che'nya and I, and our families..." Trey rambles, moving to the smaller man's hands and bandaging those as well. "When we heard the news, we-"
"Let's just get on with it already," Riddle cuts his friend off tersely, voice barely above a hoarse whisper as he stands and wraps the towel around himself. Trey nods and walks out the door, closing it behind him. Riddle tries to distance himself, to focus on anything other than the pit in his stomach or his sweaty palms and he shakily buttons his black dress shirt, cursing to himself when he struggles to pull his belt through the loops.
He finishes, shakily adjusting his tie as he looks at himself in the floor-length mirror that sat in his bedroom.
Riddle realizes his terrible he looks- normally proper crimson hair messy and bunched up at the sides of his head, eyes bright red and bloodshot as his lip quivers. His bandaged hand throbs and his knees shake as he slips on his own black loafers, realizing with a sigh that they were getting too worn to wear much longer after walking with them to court in the city and back hundreds- if not, thousands- of times.
Sighing, the lawyer pushed the door to his bedroom door opens and his eyes meet both of his friends' own concerned gazes. Che'nya, for once, sits solemnly on Riddle's beloved plush chair and Trey, lounging on the couch.
"Someone came by to drop something off," Trey explains quietly. "An older woman- she said her name was Marion."
Riddle nods quietly. He had been tutoring her grandson for the past two years. He walks over to the kitchen, sighing as he places his hands on the cold wooden table, hand running over the card the woman had left, with a small message and drawing from her grandson. His soft lips quirk up in a small smile, hand running gently over the messy handwriting as he places the card down, looking over to the tinfoil-covered dish.
He gently lifts it, noticing the comforting smell of the lasagna she'd made for him once before, as a thank you for helping her grandson. He sighs and places it in the refrigerator, closing the door quietly as he walks out to the living room.
"Did you eat?" Trey's voice breaks the eerie silence that has fallen in his living room. Che'nya quietly busies himself by lightly brushing his claws over the old ivory keys of the piano that sat in Riddle's living room, not daring to press down any harder in fear of breaking the tense silence that seems to surround the small cottage. Riddle shakes his head, moving to stand in the doorway of the kitchen. "Let us make you someth-"
"Don't," Riddle cuts him off, wincing at the harsh tone of his own voice, at the authority that had snuck into the words despite his best attempts to keep those intonations at bay unless at work. "I won't..."
"Have you been eating?" Che'nya asks quietly, standing from his position near the piano. Riddle stays quiet, fists clenched at his sides as he clenches his jaw, glaring up at the beastman. "That's a no."
"It's not-"
"Enough, guys," Trey sighs, pushing his glasses to his forehead and pinching the bridge of his nose. "Riddle, you can skip for now, but you have to eat after this, yeah?"
Riddle begrudgingly nods, despite knowing that he won't be able to stomach anything after he sees her again, that he would be forced into the same corner that has beckoned him with a clawed hand since he was a child. Crying into the darkness of the small space, covering his head with his arms as he tries to hide away from his mother's shouts and the ruler she waved oh so threateningly, the familiar sound of the thin wood smacking his mahogany desk echoing through his mind even all these years later.
They leave Riddle's cottage, waving at the neighbors who were loading their children into the car to go to school.
"Uncle Riddle!" One of the small boys waves to him and he manages to muster a smile and a small wave back. "Can you play with us after school?"
"N-not today, I'm afraid..." He raises his voice, strained as his eyebrows furrow. "I'm going on a little trip and I'll be very tired when I come home."
The boy frowns and looks to his mother, who mouths an apology to the lawyer, who shakes his head.
"Who is that?" Che'nya asks as they load themselves into Riddle's car.
"I often babysit him while his mother runs errands," The redhead explains quietly, already feeling the drag of his heart as he forced his feet, heavy as lead, into the passenger seat. He collapses onto the smooth, cold leather as though he had just hiked a mountain and not walked from his front door to his driveway. Che'nya opted to sit in the back as Trey took the wheel.
The crunch of snow under the tires made him wince as his fists clenched on his lap, shaking as he felt his breathing stutter the further and further he got from his home- his only safe place in this cruel, cold world. Riddle gulps and tries to calm his breathing, his shoulders rising and falling with each carefully paced breath that calmed his nerves.
The ride to the mirror hall was silent. Normally Trey would turn the radio on, but the ride stayed silent as Riddle gazed out the window, watching the delicately painted winter scenery change as they got nearer to the city. Riddle vaguely remembers stepping out of his car and walking through the chamber, standing silently behind Trey as he sorted out the paperwork to go through the gate and then being led through, the familiar chill of the portal accompanying his dazed state. He also recalls stepping into the rental car, and then driving through his hometown. They passed Trey's bakery at some point, a fact Riddle can only prove with Che'nya's witty remark, an attempt to lighten the mood.
He thinks back to his mother, the last time he had seen her. The look of wrath that carved out her sharp features, the way she sneered and her jaw clenched as she stared at him, silently shaking with fury and face turning a bright red from the effort. She looked as though she was itching to grab him by the back of the neck, to dig her perfectly manicured nails into his skin and drag him back into that dreaded mansion- a look that still shook him to the core. He tried to act strong the day she caught him packing his things into his then brand new car- to live at Trey's until his things shipped to his new apartment in the Land of Pyroxene.
He had done everything he was supposed to. Riddle went through all the details with a fine tooth comb, and had everything written down on a checklist that he kept on his person at all times.
He got accepted into law school.
He found an internship near the school.
He bought the apartment.
He talked with Trey about living arrangements.
He packed his things as discreetly as possible.
Bought a new phone.
Changed his number.
He had thought about changing his last name as well but decided against it at the last minute.
And most importantly-
He had told his mother nothing.
Until she caught him with his last bags, one foot out the door. She had screamed at him until he shrunk back in on himself, holding his bags close to his chest and flinching at every movement she had made as she berated him and belittled him. Despite having been three years since his overblot, three years since he swore to change things for the better and to become his own person, she still struck fear into the deepest depths of his heart.
"What will you do when you can't do it?" She asked him, teeth gritted as she practically hissed the question. "What then? You will not survive out there. Not with this deplorable behavior of yours!"
"I will," He mumbled quietly, another spike of terror coursing through his veins when he realized that he had finally talked back to her, that he had finally stood up to her abuse. It had taken twenty years, but he finally did it.
"What were all my efforts for, then? All the work I did for you to abandon me like this? I am your mother, for sevens' sake!"
"You..." He mumbles, trying to bite back the tears, trying to push the little, scared child that was still inside him at bay until he was somewhere safe, until he no longer had to look at her and be imprisoned by her laws.
"Do what you want," She finally sighed. "But once you leave, you are no longer my son."
"Goodbye, Mama," Those were the last words he had spoken to his mother, twenty years ago. Back when he was still fresh out of NRC, and scared, and dazed, and lost, and insecure. Why did her last words still haunt him? Hang over his head like a memory that gripped him with it's claws until his arms bled?
Why was he still holding onto it?
Looking back on it, Riddle remembered crying nearly every day in the weeks that followed. Curling up on Trey's couch, or on the bare mattress of his apartment, moving boxes and shopping bags still piled high in each room. He had cried every time he found something from his childhood bedroom; every picture he took out of the boxes and hung on the wall; every time he went grocery shopping and saw a mother with her young son; every time he cooked alone in his quiet kitchen, the only sound in his then home being his quiet sniffles and the dull thud of the knife against the cutting board, interrupted with the turning of a page in one of the cookbooks that had been gifted to him when he first moved.
The nights had been the longest, accompanied only by the pity of the moon as he cried softly into his pillow, cursed with dreams of what could have been and the devilish longing to hear his mother's voice one last time. He would find solace in the few good moments he had spent with her, now only stories written in his journal.
When she first taught him how to read, holding him in her lap as he sounded out the letters.
Bandaging his hands when he cast a spell and burnt himself.
Sitting with her next to their old fireplace during the cold winter nights, listening in tandem to the quiet crackling of the wooden logs.
Her praises when he had won an award at school, the way she would boast to the other parents about her son.
But those days were few and far between, and he knew they were gone forever.
Once he moved into the cottage he was currently living in, he'd left the past behind him.
But he was still alone.
He had his neighbors, put on a front and kept the part of him that was carefully crafted by her hands at bay.
He could not find it in him to get close enough to anyone else in fear of having those chains snap, and the tyrant set loose once more.
"Riddle?" Trey asks him. The man jolts and his head whips around to his friend. "We're here."
Riddle cannot find himself to be anything but numb as he trudges into the building, walking up the delicate marble steps and walking past the lines of strangers who had not seen him for decades. His vision blurs as he stares numbly ahead of him, surrounded by his childhood friends as he chooses a seat, the plastic cold as it seeps into his dress pants. He was grateful for that- something to ground himself, as his therapist would say.
Trey rests his hand atop Riddle's as it rests tensely in his lap. Che'nya's tail sneaks behind him and wraps around his waist.
The redhead could not remember what had happened next. Someone took the stage and began talking, people were crying softly. He was sure he'd made eye contact with his father at some point, the man's wrinkled and worn face unfamiliar to him.
People began standing. Riddle followed numbly. He was the last in line.
He approached the coffin and looked in. Magical cosmetics and medicine had erased all signs of illness that his mother had worn during the time she was sick. Her face was sharpened by deep lines, wrinkles carved into her skin, her red hair was striped with grey and her eyes were closed peacefully, hands folded atop her stomach as she lay on white silk, donning the dress she would wear to the parties of noblemen and other wealth in her youth. He vaguely remembered her wearing it as he was dragged along to these parties, displayed as though a prized pet rather than a son.
Her features were foreign to Riddle as he stared down as if he were staring at the body of a stranger and not his own mother.
Riddle desperately wished he could cry, that he could collapse on the floor and wail and beg for her to come back, to open her eyes, to do anything. His grief was nothing like it is in the movies- it was raw, it was silent, and it cast a guilt over him like a shadow.
A part of him was relieved that she was gone, that he was now finally free from the possibility of her finding him and ruining his life once more. That guilt weighed down on his heart, heavy and molten as he forced himself to take breaths. Riddle could feel Trey and Che'nya stalling a few feet behind him, tense as though he were a rubber band ready to snap and explode on everyone in the room.
But at that moment, it was as though he could see himself as a young child, face contorted in mortification and lip trembling as he stared wide-eyed down at the frail body of his mother, standing on the tips of his toes and peering into the coffin, tears racing down his porcelain cheeks silently.
"Mama?" The boy whispers, wiping his eyes on his sleeve as the adult Riddle looks down at him. "Mama, please!"
Riddle shakes his head, forcing himself to look away at the boy and his sobs as his small legs gave out and he collapsed with a dull thud against the carpet, curling in on himself and begging for his mother, crying out for anyone to help. He knew the boy was him, and he knew that the boy was no longer there. That part of him would die with his mother. Her last words to him echo in his ears as he feels his head spin. He purses his lips and turns away, looking up at his friends.
"Let's go home," Riddle walks away. Someone grabs his arm and squeezes until Riddle could feel the pressure beneath his layers of clothing. He looks up and his eyes meet his father's. The man's mouth opens and closes for a moment, for once speechless at the resentful glare in his son's eyes. Riddle roughly shakes the man off of him, striding back into the car, and tapping his foot in impatience as he feels his anger bubble over at the mere idea of the experience, wanting nothing more than to be within the comfort and safety of his cottage.
Trey silently climbs in after him, looking over at his friend in worry. Che'nya follows close behind, silently closing the door as Riddle stared numbly in front of him.
"Riddle?"
"I just want to go home," He mutters, his voice barely above a whisper and pathetic to his own ears. His entire body feels as though it's numb, as though he were floating in midair while also being weighed down so much that he feared his bones would crack under the pressure or that he would sink and the earth would swallow him whole. The image of his mother's face echoed in his mind, a pest he couldn't shake off no matter how hard he tried. Riddle shuddered, opting to stare back out at the scenery. "M-my home."
"You don't want to stay in the Rose Kingdom for the night?" Che'nya asks, leaning forward in his seat until his arms rested on the center console. Riddle can only stay silent, hearing Trey say something to the beastman in a hushed tone. Once more they park the rental car and are led to the mirror hall, out the doors, and back into Riddle's car.
Before he knows it, he's being led back into his house, collapsing on his plush red house and staring forward, stormy eyes glazed over and chest rising and falling with even, calm breaths. He takes a deep breath followed by a heavy sigh as he lays his head back against the plush pillows, all his energy drained although the events only took up two hours of his day. It was still morning, the sun still wasn't at its highest point in the sky. Riddle hasn't even eaten breakfast, hasn't even had tea as he normally does.
But he's exhausted and ready to sleep.
And so he does after bidding goodbye to his childhood friends with the flimsy promises of calling if he needs anything.
Rested on his couch, wet shoes no doubt leaving prints on the expensive upholstery that will leave him infuriated when he goes back to normal, he feels as though something inside him has shifted. He felt as though he was no longer himself anymore, as though the fragile cage of normality that he'd cast around himself was bent out of shape, now a metallic prison that threatened to impale him should he breathe the wrong way.
He hoped he could repair the cage soon.
Riddle didn't know if he would ever go back to normal.
He closes his eyes and for once is not plagued by the nightmares that usually haunt him. All he sees is inky blackness all around him, and he's more than happy to accept it with open arms.
By the time he wakes up the sun is already setting on the horizon. He could hear his neighbors chatting, and smell someone's homecooked dinner wafting through the air. The domesticity of it sunk into his heart like a dagger meant just for him, a cruel attempt to break apart what he'd built so tirelessly over the past two decades.
He finally allowed his walls to break. Drip by drip the cracks began to appear, the dam in his heart pulsing painfully as he curled up on his side, gripping the fabric over his chest as though his life depended on it. He finally allowed himself to wail- a raw, animalistic howl that ripped through his lungs and tore his throat as it escaped through his trembling lips. He wails and sobs and grabs at his scalp and pulls at the fine red threads until his head throbs and he finds himself too exhausted to do anything else.
The anger within him, the resentment, the loss, all of it piles up until it's suffocating. Suddenly he's eight years old again at his own birthday and she's in front of him with that disgusting cake and he could just reach out and not let go and beg for her to care for him as a mother should, to hold him and love him and tell him bedtime stories until his eyelids drooped and his head spun with fairytales and fantasies that were so close that he could reach out and grab them; to hold onto her voice as though it were a forbidden lullaby for his ears only-
But he didn't want to hold her.
He didn't want her to even look at him.
He collapses against the couch again, throat sore and a headache forming just behind his eyelids as he stares blankly at his coffee table, arms hanging limply off the side of the couch and cheek smushed comfortably into the fabric.
What a lie.
He hated her. He despised what she had put him through. But... he cannot deny that he loved her still. And he hated that his affections remained even after trying to heal from years upon years of her abuse.
His resentment knew no bounds, yet his remaining love for her, held on by a spider's thread made of an eight year old's longing for a mother's hug and cruel desperation for approval, would haunt him until the end of his days.
He rolled over to face the boy he knew was now sitting in his living room, made apparent from the silent and soft whimpers that resounded from the middle of the area. Riddle was well aware the boy was no longer real, that he was still trapped inside of this now forty year old man, trapped within the walls he'd built around his heart.
Riddle reaches out to him, smiling warmly despite how his child self's sniffles send pangs of remorse into his heart and sent tears streaking down his tired cheeks. The boy is facing away from him, curled into a ball and his head buried into his knees as he wails for his mother.
"Please," Riddle whispers, trying to get the boy's attention. He's successful, and the boy looks up, wide grey eyes glossy with unshed tears and face flushes a bright red, tears dripping from his chin onto his clothes that were much too professional for a child to be wearing. "Please don't cry."
The boy looks at him blankly, lip quivering as Riddle makes a waving motion with his hand.
"Come here, please," The boy hesitantly nods and crawls over to the couch, climbing onto it and curling into Riddle's arms. The man hugs him close, burying the boy's face into the crook of his neck and fighting every urge in his body to wail just as the boy had been.
"We'll be okay," Riddle whispers, petting the boy's crimson hair down as he watches the child's shoulder stop shaking and the death grip on his blazer turn limp as the frail, younger Riddle finally calms down. He stays like that until the boy's breathing evens out against his neck and the man curls tighter around him, closing his own eyes.
Except it was now just him in his living room, he repeats the phrase to himself quietly.
"We'll be okay," He mumbles, pretending the boy was still there and holding him as he wished someone would hold him when he was that same scared child, longing for even an ounce of love.
"I promise."

Can you do a twst wonderland x overworked reader? But instead of being normal and taking a break they keep pretending everything is fine despite the fact they are starting to flunk classes and forgetting lunch?
I don't really care who it is for I just need more twst wonderland stuff haha
I actually really really love this, since I've been working full time and going to college full time, overworking is NOT difficult to achieve. Remember that your grades do not determine your worth, and take care of yourself <3 thank you for this lovely request, Anon <3
Twst x Overworked!Reader
General warnings: Gender neutral, mentions of not eating and being exhausted.
featuring: Riddle, Silver, Vil, Malleus, Lilia
Intro:
Being the prefect of Ramshackle came with a plethora of responsibilities. You were practically the campus rag doll- carried around by everyone's will, solving problems, fixing issues, someone people would trust to go to in times of crisis. You were always there when a student over blot, and it was no hidden secret that you managed to do that while being at the top of the class despite being non-magic.
However, there was so much you could do, and so many smiles to hide behind. Everyone began to take notice, of the way you became snappy at others a little quicker than usual, dismissing issues with a wave of your hand and a stand-offish quick solution. It was in the way someone would ask if you were alright after noticing the dark circles under your eyes, only for you to give your signature kind smile and insist you were alright.
It was also obvious in the way that you were not found at lunch as you normally were, most students unable to find you not to realize that you were attempting to catch up on school work where you could. You could feel yourself begin to wither away, but the fear of being judged and losing the title of the smart, courageous prefect was slipping from your fingertips causing you to fall into a vicious cycle.
What do they do when they finally decide to confront you, seeing past the facade you were so clearly painting?
Riddle
It came as a complete surprise when you showed up to his dorm asking him to assist you in studying for classes. This was uncommon since he was certain you were doing incredibly well for yourself, taking note of your slowly increasingly disheveled look with every session you had set up. It wasn't until you yawned for the fifth time during a study session that he spoke up.
"Are you alright, (Y/N)? He asked, "You're distracted. You better pay attention if you wish to do better on this test, since-"
"Yes, since I practically failed the last one. Yes, I'm fine, please continue." Your interruption left Riddle surprised, raising an eyebrow and setting down his pencil.
"Are you sure you're-"
"I'm fine!" You snapped. Riddle was taken aback at this sudden outburst, a look of dread covering your features at the realization your voice had raised in a way you hadn't meant it to. You pursed your lips and looked down in shame, tears filling your eyes. You were quick to cover your face in embarrassment, shaking your head.
"I'm sorry," You mumbled a few times, each time becoming more broken as tears streamed between your fingers and you attempted to choke back sobs. You heard Riddle close his book and let out a small sigh, before standing up. You couldn't bring yourself to look at the red-haired male, for you were ashamed of yourself for lashing out in such a way when he had only meant to help.
"Come," He said. Confused, you peeked between your fingers seeing that Riddle had stood up and grabbed your hand.
"When I'm feeling overworked and sad..." He said shyly, "I secretly go to the kitchen and take a tart, or some other dessert." You raised your eyebrows, your tears slowing as you furrowed your eyebrows and tilted your head. "Do not repeat that to anyone else, though. Come, I'm feeling...overworked." Biting your lower lip, you nodded and took his hand, Riddle leading you out of his room and towards the dorm kitchen. Silence filled the hall for only a minute, interrupted by your curiosity. You knew how he felt about taking tarts that were meant for unbirthday parties, much less breaking the very rules and morals he strictly maintained.
"Do you really do that?" Without looking back, Riddle replied with a smile on his lips.
"I do in this moment."
Silver
Silver has always been a sweetheart to you, being attentive to your state he'd often bring you things such as teas on occasion, however, you realized he was doing it a lot more frequently than usual.
"Here," He said to you as you let him into Ramshackle and set down an armful of items on the table, "This tea my father says is good for aching muscles. Young master and I cooked some of these foods, they are good for replenishing your energy, especially after a long arduous day of training."
"I don't do any physical training though?" You pointed out to the silver-haired male, pulling out a chair and sitting in it, resting your head upon your hands as you glanced over the goodies he had brought you.
"Well, it works a lot for when you're really tired. I eat these myself frequently, and it makes you feel a little better when you're overworked." Your eyes widened at his statement, mouth opening slightly and looking up at the tall male who only graced you with a gentle yet sad smile.
"I'm not...overworked," Overwhelmed by his gaze that only held affection, you averted your eyes and began picking at your fingers. Silver placed a hand upon yours, before pressing his forehead against your own. Your face flushed red, yet you couldn't find the energy to pull away.
"You're warm, I think you're getting sick..." You tried not to correct him in the fact you were warm in his close proximity, allowing him to do whatever he felt was needed. Silver grabbed one of the teas that lay against the table, eyeing it and looking back at you.
"This will be good for you...I'll make some. You should go get some rest, and I'll help you sort out an appropriate schedule for you."
"Silver, I-" You wanted to decline his offer, yet was interrupted by the shaking of his head and a chaste hug.
"You do so much for all of us around the campus, your bravery shows no bounds. But even the strongest of heroes need to know when they've taken on too much." Sighing in defeat, you gave in and nodded. Silver smiled in satisfaction and made his way towards the kitchen to prepare you the tea he so kindly brought for you, as your eyelids felt heavy and the weight of burden slowly eased from your shoulders.
You were going to have a wonderful night's rest for the first time in a very, very long time.
Vil
You weren't particularly in the mood for this, Vil inspecting every part of you at this moment simply by attempting to convince him you were fine.
"your skin is pale showing signs of fatigue, your muscles are untoned-"
"They're always like that."
"I am not finished," Vil folded his arms, " The skin around your nails are torn up, and you have bags under your eyes that only get that dark and puffy after a significant amount of sleep deprivation and lack of hydration. You went from the top of the exam board and plummeted to the middle," He strutted towards you, looking into your eyes with sadness.
"And worst of all, you are nowhere to be found during lunch the past two weeks, and you seem to be losing weight and have less energy."
"Thank you," you rolled your eyes, "For pointing out everything wrong with me, as if I didn't already know. I'll be fine, thank you for your concern." You went to turn away from Vil, before his strong hands turned you back around and held you into a hug, stroking your hair. You were taken aback by this sudden form of affection, your arms laying flat at your sides.
"I'm fine," You repeated, mumbling into his chest where he held you firmly.
"I'm very good at spotting when someone is lying," Vil said plainly, "I can tell when someone is putting on an act. And it isn't to point out your flaws, (Y/N)," You paused at hearing your name escape his lips rather than your typical "potato" nickname he oh-so loved to attach to you.
"It's because I am worried for your health. Stop putting on an act." You felt your determination to hide your feelings crumble and tears form in your eyes, your arms trembling as you moved to give him a hesitant hug back.
"I know how hard it must be," He said with calmness and understanding in his voice, "to feel pressured to be okay. But around me, you do not need to pretend. Let me help you, as you have helped...us." He pulled away to see your tear-stained cheeks, tucking a hair behind your ear,
"As you have helped me. You do not need to struggle alone."
Malleus
"Child of man," Malleus called out to you, "Are you alright?" It was your typical meetup outside Ramshackle dorm, You sat down lazily at the garden table the two of you worked hard on, your head lay down on the table.
"I'm fine, Mal," You sighed, not looking up to see his gaze. You suddenly felt something soft wrap around your shoulders, recognizing it as His blazer. This caused you to finally raise your head, a gentle smile upon the lips of the tall black-haired fae.
"It's cold out, wouldn't you agree?" He took a seat next to you, "The flowers may wilt soon." You nodded, propping your head up with your hand.
"Sad, isn't it?" You grumbled, "they were so vibrant and colorful, and soon their leafs will wilt and turn brown. They will become weak and fall apart." Malleus eyed you curiously, noticing even in the dark the way your eyes were swollen and the frown that painted your features. Something that wasn't common to see, for you were typically so energetic to be engaging in conversation with him. He turned his gaze back to the flowers, leaning back in the chair and folding his arms.
"Yes...but when this harsh winter snow passes," He said, using green magic to grasp one of the blooms to twirl between two fingers, "Spring will come, and their vibrance will become apparent." You shifted your gaze over to him, tilting your head as his eyes lovingly inspected the flower.
"With seasons changing, so do these plants upon their own time. They will become weak and wither during the harshness of the seasons, yes, However...with the proper support..." the flower was suddenly wrapped in magical clouds, and when they dispersed the flower had grown in size and become a rose with large and healthy properties, a bright green stem and the reddest glow shining beneath the moonlight. Malleus looked back over to you with a smile, quickly de-thorning the rose and placing it behind your ear. Your eyes smiled for the first time in a while, letting out a breathy chuckle and a shake of your head. He really knew how to make his points come across without being direct, his poetic tongue becoming soothing for your tired heart.
"Thank you, Malleus."
Lilia
The ex-general fae was not unfamiliar with the signs of exhaustion and fatigue, and you were showing clear signs of such.
"Skipping lunch again, little bat?" A familiar voice called out to you, causing you to yelp in surprise, dropping your pen. How he managed to sneak inside of ramshackle dorm, much less your room, was far beyond you.
"Lilia! gosh.." You shook your head and picked your pen back up after glaring at him for startling you, shaking your head and continuing your studying endeavors.
"Playing catch up, I see? Take a break," The red eyed fae said, "I made you something~"
"No thank you, i'm fine," You quickly replied, almost panicking. Lilia pouted and pulled out a lunch box that was large and smelled...actually pretty good.
"It has many nutrients that are good for replenishing your health," He said proudly, "Seeing as you have been skipping meals, losing sleep, and your grades have been dropping presumably from your lack of self-care," He said bluntly. Your eyes widened as you looked at the fae with surprisingly good observation skills, curious how he was able to discern that information. You opened your mouth to reply that you were doing alright and that you just needed some time to catch up, however, his reflexes were far too fast for you. He pushed a spoonful of whatever food he had in his grasp, watching you with delight at your shock.
You almost choked at the suddenness, however the pleasant taste of whatever soup he had given you caused you to become almost entirely distracted.
"This...is actually really good. You didn't make it, did you?" Lilia huffed and closed his eyes with his signature look of disappointment, yet a smile not wavering from his lips.
"You wound me, but the others had convinced me the best way to help you would be by good-old chicken/veggie noodle soup!" he held out the rest of the bowl to you, pulling a seat next to you and clearing off your desk organized. You stopped protesting, for with this fae there was no getting around whatever he was doing.
"Now, take a break and allow your body some rest. You cannot learn nor function properly under these conditions. I understand how much it may mean to be accomplished, however, those accomplishments will mean nothing if you die from exhaustion," his smile never faded, yet you could tell his words were meant in seriousness as he chastised you. It was full of love and affection, though. He had the best of intentions, his ruby eyes
"Holding your issues inside is no good either, dearest. Now, confide in this old fae, perhaps I can be of assistance to your woes. And I hope this will be the last time I hear of your negligence to your health through your classmates, and next time you seek out help."

Hello! Can I please request Azul, Riddle, and Jade with a reader who talks a lot and doesn’t stop talking until someone tells her that she’s talking a lot?
This is literally just me as a person. Extroverts assemble😞
Talkative
Feat. Azul, Riddle and Jade
Cws/ bullying, teasing, fem! Reader, mostly fluff
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Azul
Azul is often in the same boat as you (no pun intended), as he is also a very hardworking and driven young man. The ideas the two of you share with one another are really interesting and helpful.
Even if you are just rambling on as he finishes up his paperwork, Azul will always insist you keep going until you feel like you’re done talking. If you cut a sentence halfway through because you’re worried he might get annoyed, don’t be. He loves the sound of your voice.
He’s the type to get really ticked off when people bully or demean you for talking too much, because he has his own history with bullying and also because he genuinely likes hearing you speak.
He always remembers things you mention you want in your ramblings and notes them down for future occasions. If you mention not liking someone for any reason, he’ll keep note of that too…
Azul will encourage you to actualize some of the plans and ideas you bring up to him, keeping you motivated with his everlasting pride towards you.
Riddle
Despite being kind of quiet and stern, Riddle would fare well with a talkative girlfriend. You would balance out his angry nature with your extroverted one.
He loves listening to you talk about anything and everything over a warm cup of tea, the warmth surrounding the two of you as he intently observes your expressions changing as you describe certain aspects of your day.
If he hears even a snide remark coming from someone about your talkative nature, he collars them. No hesitation.
Riddle invites you to every single unbirthday party because you can engage in actual worthwhile conversation and also because he loves watching your social butterfly nature in action as you converse with everyone.
Jade
Jade can often be quiet, but he is probably one of the best and most thoughtful listeners in all of NRC. He usually uses this skill to gather dirt on people, but with you, it's different.

🎀The Twisted Wonderland housewardens save you from your bullies 🎀

The cold, oppressive atmosphere of Night Raven College bore witness to the relentless cruelty inflicted upon Y/n by the three Savanaclaw students. They were a toxic trio, reveling in the sadistic pleasure of tormenting the lone soul who dared to be different.
In the shadows of the twisting corridors, the bullies cornered Y/n with malevolent grins and whispered taunts. "Look who we have here, the little misfit," sneered one of them, his words dripping with disdain.
Y/n, a stoic figure determined to withstand the onslaught, clenched her teeth, refusing to give them the satisfaction of seeing her crack. The leader of the tormentors, a sinister figure with a twisted smile, circled her like a predator closing in on its prey.
"What's the matter, Y/n? Cat got your tongue?" another jeered, causing the trio to burst into mocking laughter. The echoes of their cruelty resonated through the desolate halls, amplifying Y/n's isolation.
Their torment wasn't limited to words alone; the bullies seized every opportunity to strip Y/n of her dignity. One day, they snatched her bag, rifling through its contents like scavengers pillaging a carcass. They tossed her belongings carelessly on the cold floor, savoring the sight of her distress.
On another occasion, the trio targeted Y/n during a public event, exploiting the vulnerability of the crowded space. They humiliated her with disparaging remarks, their malicious words cutting through the air like a relentless storm. Y/n, standing alone amidst the sea of indifferent faces, fought back tears, unwilling to grant them the satisfaction of witnessing her vulnerability.
The torment escalated when the bullies, driven by an insidious desire to break her spirit, attempted to steal Y/n's clothing. The malicious intent behind their actions was clear, pushing her to the brink of despair.
In that harrowing moment, as they tugged at the fabric that shielded her from their malicious intent, Y/n's defenses crumbled. The tears she had fought so hard to contain spilled over, marking her surrender to the relentless darkness that engulfed her.
The bullies reveled in their perceived victory, their laughter echoing like a haunting melody. Y/n, now defenseless and broken, sank to her knees, a shattered reflection of the person she used to be.
Yet, as the trio reveled in their malevolence, the distant echo of approaching footsteps disrupted their sadistic revelry…
Tumblr media
The cold corridors of Night Raven College seemed to intensify as the bullies' attention shifted from Y/n to the unexpected intruder, Riddle Rosehearts. The leader of the trio, emboldened by a sense of defiance, sneered, "What's the Heartslabyul housewarden doing, playing the hero? Is this your new pet project, Rosehearts?"
Riddle's stern expression remained steadfast, a protective shield against the barbs directed his way. "I'm enforcing the rules, something you three seem to have forgotten. Now, leave her alone," he retorted, his tone laced with an unyielding edge.
The bullies, undeterred by the stern warning, turned their attention to Riddle, attempting to humiliate him in the same manner they had targeted Y/n. "Maybe Rosehearts has a soft spot for misfits. Or is there something else going on here?" one of them jeered, a malicious glint in their eyes.
Riddle's gaze hardened, but he didn't allow their words to rattle him. Instead, he focused on Y/n, offering her his cape for warmth and comfort. "Ignore them," he whispered, his voice a soothing balm in the aftermath of the storm.
Y/n, still recovering from the emotional turmoil, met Riddle's eyes with a mixture of gratitude and curiosity. "Why are you helping me?" she asked, her vulnerability laid bare.
Riddle hesitated for a moment, his stern exterior cracking to reveal a hint of sincerity. "No one should be treated like that. Besides, it's my duty as the housewarden of Heartslabyul to enforce the rules," he replied, though the subtle inflection in his voice hinted at a deeper, unspoken truth.
As the bullies persisted in their attempts to tarnish Riddle's reputation, he remained resolute. However, the time for words had passed. With a swift and practiced motion, Riddle invoked his unique magic, "Off with your head," causing ethereal sparks to materialize and collar the bullies as a consequence for their actions.
The trio, now restrained by red head’s signature spell, looked to Riddle with shock and fear. He addressed them with an unwavering gaze. "Learn to respect others, or face the consequences," he declared, his authority unshaken.
Turning back to Y/n, Riddle offered a reassuring smile. "You don't have to worry about them anymore. Let me help you and walk you to your dorm," he said, a subtle undertone of warmth in his voice.
Riddle thought to himself that the bullies were right. He did have a soft spot for misfits. In particular this misfit. He had always liked Y/n. As they walked to Y/n’s dorm Riddle tried to hide his face, which was now as red as his hair.

In the dimly lit corridor, Leona Kingscholar, the formidable housewarden of Savanaclaw, stood between Y/n and her tormentors. The atmosphere crackled with tension as the bullies, momentarily taken aback, decided to redirect their malice towards the imposing figure that stood before them.
"So, the sleepy lion decides to play the hero," one of the bullies sneered, attempting to mask their unease with false bravado.
Leona's emerald eyes narrowed, a low growl escaping his throat as he stared down the trio. "You've got a problem with how I do things?" he challenged, his voice a menacing rumble that reverberated through the corridor.
The bullies, perhaps underestimating the fierce resolve that lay beneath Leona's laid-back demeanor, stepped back. "Why are you protecting her? Got yourself a new little plaything, housewarden?" one of them jeered, a sinister grin stretching across their face.
Leona's expression darkened, his patience wearing thin. "I protect what's under my care. That's all you need to know," he replied, his words carrying an implicit warning that sent shivers down the spines of the tormentors.
Undeterred, the bullies attempted to taunt him further, their words laced with a futile attempt at intimidation. "Maybe you've got a crush on her, huh?" another one jeered.
Leona's growl intensified, his dominant aura radiating an almost tangible threat. "You're pushing your luck, buddy" he warned, his gaze flickering dangerously.
As the tension escalated, Leona stepped forward, looming over the bullies with an imposing stature that left them visibly unsettled. "Consider this your only warning. Cross me again, and you'll regret it," he asserted, his voice cutting through the air like a blade.
The bullies, realizing the gravity of their situation, hastily retreated, their bravado shattered in the face of Leona's unwavering dominance. As they fled the scene, fear etched across their faces, Leona turned his attention back to Y/n.
"You alright?" he asked, the harsh edges of his demeanor softening as he surveyed her. Y/n, still reeling from the confrontation, nodded silently.
Leona, surprising even himself with the depth of his concern, took a step closer. His hand gently cupped Y/n's cheek, his touch surprisingly tender. "I hate to see this pretty face upset," he murmured to himself, his voice a low, soothing rumble.
As the lion helped pick up Y/n’s stuff from the ground, the situation made him angrier and angrier. He’s going to make sure to teach those punks a lesson tomorrow morning during training.”Got yourself a new little plaything?” those words lingering in Leona’s head. Plaything. He scoffs at the idea. Y/n is so much more than that…

In the dimly lit corridors of Night Raven College, the relentless torment aimed at Y/n had attracted the attention of Azul Ashengrotto. As he intervened to protect her, the bullies, recognizing the charismatic housewarden from Octavinelle, shifted their focus to the unexpected adversary.
"Looks like we've got ourselves a hero," one of the bullies scoffed, a malicious glint in his eyes. The leader, emboldened by the presence of a new target, attempted to humiliate Azul. "What's your game, Ashengrotto? Trying to play the savior for this loser?"
Azul's gaze remained unfazed, his smooth composure undeterred. "I suggest you mind your own business," he retorted, his voice carrying a subtle warning. However, the bullies, now fueled by audacity, turned their attention to Y/n once more.
In the face of the renewed onslaught, Azul stepped forward, shielding Y/n with a protective stance. "It seems you're mistaken," he said, directing his attention to Y/n. "This isn't about playing the hero. No one deserves to be treated like this."
The bullies, sensing an unexpected vulnerability in Azul's defense of Y/n, attempted to exploit it. "What's the matter, Ashengrotto? You fancy this loser here?" they sneered, hoping to provoke a reaction.
Azul's gaze flickered, a subtle hint of discomfort betraying his composed exterior. However, he quickly regained his confidence, addressing Y/n with a more reassuring tone. "Don't pay them any mind. Let me take care of this."
Turning back to the bullies, Azul's expression hardened. "You might want to reconsider your actions. I have quite a bit of dirt on both of you, and I'm not afraid to use it. And let's not forget about the Leech Twins—they're always hungry for interesting tidbits."
The mention of the Leech Twins sent a shiver down the bullies' spines, their confidence crumbling in the face of potential repercussions. Sensing their defeat, they slinked away, leaving Azul and Y/n in the now empty corridor.
Azul turned back to Y/n, his usual confidence giving way to a more genuine concern. "Are you alright?" he asked, his voice softer now. "Trash like them need people like us to torment, to make themselves feel better.”
Y/n, still reeling from the emotional turmoil, nodded appreciatively. Azul continued to guide her to the Mostro lounge, knowing she will be safe there. His touch was surprisingly gentle, a stark contrast to the commanding presence he displayed moments ago.
As they navigated the halls together, Azul couldn't help but feel a twinge of awkwardness. He was normally confident and composed, but Y/n's presence seemed to unravel his polished exterior. He knows all too well what it’s like to be treated like that. And the thought that Y/n had to endure the same thing made him want to protect her more. Like a precious pearl he can’t stand to share with anyone.
Tumblr media
In the dimly lit corridors of Night Raven College, Kalim Al-Asim's radiant presence cast a warm glow that contrasted with the shadows of cruelty that clung to the bullies tormenting Y/n. As Kalim approached the scene, unaware of the tension, he couldn't fathom the depths of their malicious intent.
"Hey, what's going on here?" Kalim's voice echoed with genuine curiosity, a beacon of positivity in the oppressive atmosphere.
The leader of the bullies sneered, seizing the opportunity to redirect their malevolence. "Well, well, if it isn't the Scarabian sun himself. What's it to you, Kalim? Lost your little guard dog?"
Kalim chuckled, oblivious to their attempts at humiliation. "Nah, I was just passing by. Just got back from the pop music club. What's got you so worked up?"
Unperturbed, the bullies turned around to face Kalim, attempting to exploit the vulnerability they perceived in his sunny disposition. "Oh, look, he's trying to play the hero. Say, does the housewarden of Scarabia like this little misfit?."
Y/n, still reeling from the earlier torment, looked at Kalim with a mixture of gratitude and surprise. Kalim, however, beamed back, seemingly unaffected by their insinuations.
"What? Well, who wouldn't want to be friends with someone as amazing as Y/n?" Kalim responded, his sincerity disarming in its authenticity.
The bullies persisted, their cruel words attempting to chip away at Kalim's unwavering spirit. "Heh. Do you hear that, Y/n? There’s finally someone willing to put up with your pathetic act of a personality! I guess our little otter here is too stupid to see how worthless you are."
It was when they directed their malice back at Y/n, their words a venomous assault, that Kalim's carefree demeanor faltered. His eyes narrowed, the red glow dimming as a protective instinct took hold.
"Enough is enough," Kalim asserted, his voice carrying an unexpected edge. "You don't get to treat people like this."
Undeterred, the bullies persisted, casting disparaging remarks at both Kalim and Y/n. In response, Kalim maintained his composure, shielding Y/n from the verbal onslaught with unwavering resolve.
When the bullies continued to escalate the situation, Kalim took charge. "That's it. We're done here," he declared, his tone leaving no room for negotiation. He offered a hand to Y/n, helping her to her feet with a reassuring touch.
"Let's get you out of here," Kalim suggested, handing Y/n her scattered belongings. "If you ever feel unsafe, Jamil and I are here for you."
The unease in the bullies' expressions was palpable as they realized their words didn’t affect their targets anymore. Kalim's protective stance and genuine concern for Y/n had disrupted their cruel narrative.
As the bullies slinked away, annoyed by the outcome, Kalim escorted Y/n back to Scarabia. Their walk was filled with moments of comforting silence, punctuated by Kalim's attempts to lighten the mood with his infectious laughter. When Y/n finally gave him a smile back he perked up. “It’s so nice to see you smile again!” The sight gave him new confidence to land a kiss on Y/n’s cheek.
Tumblr media
Within the dark corridors of Night Raven College, the tormentors faced an unexpected obstacle in their pursuit of cruelty: Vil Schoenheit. As the charismatic figure stepped into the scene, the bullies exchanged uneasy glances, momentarily thrown off balance by the interference.
"Are you so starved for attention that you resort to tormenting others?" Vil's voice, laced with disdain, sliced through the air. His steely gaze met the bullies', challenging them to proceed.
However, their malevolence knew no bounds. Unwilling to be deterred, the bullies redirected their scorn towards Vil, attempting to humiliate him for daring to protect Y/n. "Look at this, the pretty prince thinks he can play hero. What, do you like the little misfit?" one of them jeered, the venom in his words aimed at both Vil and Y/n.
Vil, however, remained unfazed, ignoring their attempts to provoke him. Instead, he focused on Y/n, helping her up with a gentleness that contradicted the harsh reality they were facing. His fingers delicately corrected her clothing, fixed her tie, and smoothed her tousled hair. Vil's eyes met hers, a silent reassurance passing between them.
"Pay them no mind," he whispered, his breath brushing against Y/n's ear, a gesture that held an undercurrent of intimacy. "They thrive on our reactions."
The bullies, frustrated by Vil's indifference, resorted to physically assaulting Y/n, grabbing her by the shoulder. Before their cruelty could escalate further, Vil's hand shot out like a viper, gripping the offender's wrist with an intimidating strength.
"It's in your best interest to leave," Vil asserted, his voice low and threatening. "I won't tolerate such behavior. Choose wisely."
The bullies, now cowed by the unexpected turn of events, hastily retreated, leaving Vil and Y/n in the aftermath of their confrontation.
Vil escorted Y/n to his dorm, a haven away from the oppressive bullying that had sought to consume her. Inside his room, he offered her a seat and gently handed her a towel, his eyes reflecting genuine concern.
"Take your time," Vil said softly, his hands meticulously tending to a small cut on Y/n's cheek. "You deserve better than the cruelty of those einzellers."
As Vil carefully cleaned the remnants of the bullying, his thoughts betrayed the secret that he harbored in the depths of his heart. He cared deeply for Y/n, and every gentle touch, every word of reassurance, echoed the silent confession he dared not speak aloud.
"You deserve to be treated with kindness," he murmured. “Just make sure to stay by my side, Y/n.”
Tumblr media
The dimly lit corridor was transformed into a battleground as Idia Shroud stepped forward, his normally reserved demeanor overshadowed by an unexpected fierceness. The bullies, accustomed to preying on the vulnerable, saw an opportunity to assert dominance over someone they perceived as even weaker — the introverted Idia.
"You think you can protect her?" one of the bullies taunted, a malicious smirk on his face. "What's the weakling going to do?"
Idia, his disheveled hair falling over his determined eyes, stood defiantly, shielding Y/n from the impending storm. The bullies, sensing a perceived vulnerability, closed in on the pair, their laughter echoing through the corridor.
"Why are you even bothering, Shroud? What's in it for you?" another bully jeered, the air thick with arrogance.
Y/n's heart sank, anticipating the onslaught of mockery that was about to befall them both. Idia, feeling the weight of their poisonous words, clenched his fists, his usual anxiety exacerbated by the confrontation.
"Why would someone like you bother to protect her?" another bully chimed in, his tone dripping with contempt. "She's not worth it, and you're just making yourself look like more of a loser."
The bullies, emboldened by their perceived victory, closed in on Idia and Y/n. The pressure intensified, and Y/n's distress became palpable. Idia, however, couldn't bear to see her suffer any longer.
In a moment of unexpected defiance, the blue flames in Idia's hair intensified, shifting to a fiery orange. The air crackled with newfound energy as Idia's eyes blazed with determination. He had reached his breaking point.
"What do you know about worth?" Idia snapped, his usually timid voice cutting through the tension like a samurai sword. "You think you can just waltz around, tormenting others without consequence? Well, think again."
The bullies, now faced with an Idia they hadn't anticipated, faltered as he unleashed a verbal onslaught more cutting than their own. "You want to mock me? Fine. But lay off her. You have no idea what it's like to be her, to carry the weight of your cruelty every day."
As his words hung in the air, Idia's threat escalated. "And if you don't back off right now, I'll make sure your precious devices become my playground. Hacking is my specialty, and trust me, I can make your lives a living nightmare."
The bullies, genuinely frightened by the unexpected turn of events, retreated in haste, leaving Idia and Y/n alone in the aftermath of the confrontation. As the echoes of their footsteps faded, Idia's fiery aura subsided, returning to the familiar blue and turned his attention to Y/n.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice softening as he reached out to gently wipe away the tears that still clung to her cheeks.
Y/n nodded, a mixture of gratitude and admiration in her eyes. "Thank you, Idia. I didn't expect..."
Idia cut her off with a dismissive wave. "It's not like I did it for you or anything. I just couldn't stand their stupidity."
As the tension eased, Idia reverted to his introverted self, a visible anxiety settling over him. "I... um, well, I should go. Just forget about it," he mumbled, glancing away.
But as he turned to leave, Y/n caught his hand. "Idia, wait. Thank you," she said, a gentle smile playing on her lips. "You didn't have to do that, but you did."
Idia's eyes met hers, a subtle warmth beneath the layers of his usual aloofness. "Just don't make it a habit of needing my help," he quipped, a faint blush coloring his cheeks. Even though those words escaped his blue lips, in his heart he hoped that Y/n would come to him in her days of need.

In the gloomy halls of Night Raven College, the three Savanaclaw bullies tried to justify their actions as mere play, their voices faltering under Malleus Draconia's piercing gaze. "We were just messing around, no harm intended," one of them stammered, attempting to downplay the cruelty they had inflicted upon Y/n.
Malleus, his patience exhausted, snapped his fingers. In an instant, the bullies were suspended above the ground. The Diasomnia housewarden wasted no time; his eyes met Y/n's, and the look on her face spoke volumes. This was not mere play; it was torment.
Outside, the atmosphere shifted, echoing Malleus's wrath. Lightning flashed, and thunder roared, a visceral manifestation of the storm brewing within him. The bullies, now terrified, were at the mercy of the fae prince's judgment.
With a graceful motion Malleus offered Y/n a hand to help her up. The warmth of his touch was a stark contrast to the chilling air of the college. "Are you hurt?" he asked, genuine concern evident in his eyes.
Y/n shook her head, grateful for Malleus's intervention. As they stood together, the fae prince surveyed the bullies with a cold, calculating gaze. "Explain yourselves," he demanded, his voice like the rumble of distant thunder.
The bullies, now realizing the gravity of their actions, stumbled over their words. Malleus's patience waned, and with another snap of his fingers, he immobilized them once more, this time freezing their levitating bodies.
Turning back to Y/n, Malleus took a step closer, his eyes softening as he surveyed the emotional toll the ordeal had taken on her. "I can make them feel the pain they inflicted upon you, Y/n," he offered, his voice low and filled with restrained fury.
Y/n, however, shook her head again, her eyes reflecting a mix of gratitude and reluctance. "No, Malleus. I don't want that."
Respecting her wishes, Malleus released the bullies, who fell to the ground with a thud before scrambling to flee. The housewarden, however, wasn't finished. With a flick of his wrist, he summoned Y/n's scattered belongings, collecting them with a gentle sweep of his hand.
"Allow me," he murmured, his eyes never leaving hers as he gathered her things. Malleus, his expression softening, lifted Y/n into his arms, carrying her bridal style.
As they navigated the corridors, Malleus's gaze remained on Y/n, a silent promise of protection and comfort. "No one should be subjected to such cruelty," he stated, his voice a low growl.
Once they reached a more secluded spot, Malleus gently set Y/n down. "If ever you need someone to shield you from the shadows, know that I am here," he confessed, his eyes revealing the depth of his emotions.
The lingering thunder outside echoed the storm within Malleus, but his gaze softened, and a hint of vulnerability appeared as he regarded Y/n. "Do you feel safe now?"
Y/n nodded “T-thank you, Malleus… You’re my savior.” Upon seeing her smile Malleus felt his worries wash away. To reflect this new found emotion the storms outside seem to lay down, making way for the sun to reveal its face once again. Malleus kneeled before her, cupping her face in his hand. “I won’t let anyone harm you ever again.”

Prompt: "Will You Marry Me?" - Proposal Headcannons Characters: Everyone :) Part(s): Heartslabyul (here!), Savanaclaw, Octavinelle, Scarabia, Pomefiore, Ignihyde, Diasomnia(Pt.1)(Pt.2) Fandom: Twisted Wonderland Warning(s): None. I mean, unless you don't want to marry any of them. Just don't read if that's the case. Note: These are all if he is the one proposing btw. I've been thinking about maybe programming a small fan-made mini-otome using these ideas. Just for some practice for school while also being self indulgent hehe
Riddle Rosehearts
Very traditional, but this is expected. He asks your closest of kin (a cat, to his horror) for permission to propose. Regardless of Grimm's answer, there is already a ring that's been purchased. This is merely formality
He comes up with an elaborate plan to execute the 'perfect' proposal. Riddle maps it all out and runs multiple drafts by his childhood friends. Everything must go perfectly - or else you might not accept. Is it likely that not presenting you with exactly 12 red roses with the spikes trimmed and arranged with 6 sprigs of baby's breath will be the reason you decline? Likely not. Will he chance it though? No.
Despite all his planning, he is a nervous wreak. Our red prince is great at masking it though. He plans an entire evening down to the last detail. You both go to a upscale restaurant that serves your favorite cuisine under the pretense that you're celebrating an amazing jab offer Riddle received the day prior. There's dinner, dancing, a romantic atmosphere, and delightful conversation (he prepared conversation topics in advance in case he felt nervous).
Oh look, there just so happens to be an outdoor garden to take an evening stroll through. Would you like to go?
Of course you would, and he asks you to wait outside as he visits the restroom. After you pass through the back door, a nearby waiter slips him the bouquet of twelve roses that he dropped off in the morning. He counts them, checks the stems, the ribbon holding them together, and with a relieved sigh he reaches into his pocket.
Riddle nestles the engagement ring within the core of the center rose, and for a moment his anxiety quells. He looks through the outside door's windowpane, and sees you patiently waiting for him while admiring the garden lights. The anxiety returns, but he's ready. With a knuckle-white grip on the flowers, he passes through the doors.
"Hello...I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. I had a matter of great importance to attend to - wha? No! Not that- ugh. I wasn't in the restroom! Only you would make such a childish remark on such an important day...No, do not apologize. I was not referring to my career. Perhaps these flowers will provide some clarity. I hope they are to you liking,"
When you notice the ring, he gently takes it and gets down on one knee. Riddles heart rattles against his ribcage, and his the mask of calm falters. He holds out the ring with one hand, and the other lightly trembles as it reaches for yours.
"Would you do me the honor of becoming my spouse? I promise that you will be cared for dearly, and that I will work tirelessly to become a husband that you will be proud of,"
Tumblr media
{Riddle's ring is a mix of new and old. Tradition dictates a diamond for a wedding ring, but he knows better. Riddle wants you to think of him every time you see this ring, so he chooses to stray. Three rubies sit nested in diamonds. The color of his hair, which you love to poke fun of so much. It represents how he is willing to consistently change while still holding on to his core values, all so he can become a husband worthy of you}
Trey Clover
A simple man, and therefore takes a simple approach. The depth of his proposal lies in the timing. He does not know when he will be ready to commit, or how to tell if you are ready to as well.
Trey puts proposing off for the longest time. He acts in baby steps. The idea toys with him for months, until one day he convinces himself that he is ready. After that he slowly begins to look at rings, and think of ideas. He wants to be original, but would that overwhelm you? He would sooner die than do something tacky like a public proposal at a concert or event...but is that something you might want?
If there is one thing Trey is certain about, its that rejection would break him. He knows that your relationship would never be the same if he proposed too early, or if he managed to royally screw it up. He's not a fan of attention. This is awful. Oh Great Sevens it's a pressure that he never dreamed of having to undergo.
But if he doesn't propose...would you? Are you waiting for him? what if you're thought process is the same as his?
Completely out of character for Trey, he ends up proposing on impulse. He woke up one morning and saw the ring tucked away in his sock drawer. For the millionth time he had to face the "I should just do it," thoughts and decided to act on them
The day is new, neither of you had work, and a quick glance over his shoulder proves that you would be soundly sleeping for at least the next hour. So what's he do? Trey puts on his nicest casual clothes. Nothing formal, but also nothing that is sloppy. Then he marches downstairs and starts to make breakfast. He decides to prepare tarts, a reminiscence of your days as students and where you first met. As he arranges them on a platter, he places the ring inside one made with your favorite flavor. It peaks out just enough for anyone to notice, and with a huff Trey steps back to admire his work.
His hands are slightly clammy, and quickly moves to busy himself in fear he might chicken out. It helps for a time, until he hears your footsteps approach the kitchen, followed by a sleepy 'good morning' and arms wrapping around his torso
He steels himself, and turns over in your arms to kiss the top of your head. With a nervous laugh, Trey gestures to the platter of fruit tarts and smiles at how the sight of food causes you to perk up. Like clockwork, you reach for your favorite flavor and quickly notice the metal chunk inside
He reigns in panic as you dig the ring out and eye it with a quirked brow. A moment of silence passes before it clicks, and you whip to gawk at him with the largest bugeyes he has ever seen. Wordlessly, Trey takes the ring, wipes off any crumbs with his shirt, and takes your hands in his
"I'm sorry to spring this on you so early in the morning. It must be quite the wakeup call, huh? Haha...The truth is, I have wanted to give this to you for such a long time. I simply did not know how. I had a burst of courage this morning, and am honestly running on pure adrenaline. I love you...I want to spend our lives together. Will you marry me?"
Tumblr media
{Trey's ring is a single pearl on a gold band. He feels that the ring should reflect it's wearer, and you are one of the most naturally beautiful people he has ever seen. There is beauty in simplicity - in seeing things as they are with no modifications. You do that for him, and he loves how your relationship is authentic}
Cater Diamond
Marriage? Huh. See, in the past that was a no-go. Very constricting and he didn't enjoy the idea of getting linked to someone in that regard. An s/o with no legal binding? Sure. It's just a title anyways, right? That kind of thing shouldn't matter in the long run.
Except it did end up being relevant, and now Cater wants to beat himself up because he explicitly told you once things were getting serious that he wasn't interested in marriage. You were fine with doing either and left the decision up to him. Very nice of you to be so nonchalant , and now he knows that marriage isn't 'off the table'. There is a chance.
A chance that requires him to both propose and take back his initial stance. Which is kind of humiliating. The take back part, not the proposal. Cater is confident that he can blow you away. He doesn't need shoddy internet advice, or to to do extensive research to be perfect. Nope. It's all in his noggin. He knows you like the back of his hand and therefore can concoct a speech to woo you easily.
So what comes first, the chicken or the egg? Does he try to casually tip you of that he's interested in getting married before trying to propose? No. That would be incredibly dull and ruin the element of surprise. Cater always hated those crappy half-baked romance films where the loser male lead is all 'oh honey I promise I will propose. Just give me time,' because hello???? You spoiled it??? Also don't make promises that you don't plan to keep, douchebag. How dull.
He decides that it's all or nothing. Cater spends an entire night online shopping for a ring. He already knows all of your sizes...don't ask how or why. Anyway, ordering is a cinche. Just ignore his eyebags the next day and his snappy attitude. He can't even whine about how tired he is because that would mean he has to say why he didn't sleep and -EUGH. He is torn between his two loves. Complaining for attention, and wooing you for attention. It's rough.
It comes in the mail, and after checking the package he decides to seal it back up again. It looks untouched thanks to his skills. Then, he sets up the living room to look like he is filming a video for his magicam. Specifically an unboxing video, and makes sure to let you know that it's from one of your favorite companies.
You take the bait, and he asks you to join him. Even if your camera shy, he insists that for just this one video you hop on. He might be a bit tricky and give you ideas about the product in the box (making sure to align them with a hobby or fandom that you're into). He sets the camera to record, plops down casually at your side, and hands you the box cutter. Go crazy.
Cater can't help but giggle when you open the box - just to pull out another small box. You eye it cautiously, now suspicious that this might be a prank. He urges you to open the box, and you do so while holding it at arms-length away from your face.
The ring's gem sparkles in the camera light, and he watches amused as you pull it closer. With a shaky hand, you take it out of the box and inspect it. With the way you side-eye him, Cater can tell that you're wondering if this situation is a cruel prank...
"Tada~~ You like? -- WAIT! Before you get upset just let me explain! There is no video. That was a lie, and I'm sorry for it. I surprised you good though, right?...ahem, uhm. I'm not pranking you. If you feel the same, then I want for us to get married! I know what I said before, and I take it back. The time we have spent together made me realize that I only felt that way - well, because I was unable to imagine liking someone enough to share my life. So...do you want to marry me?"
Tumblr media
{A diamond for a diamond. Diamonds are reflective. They glitter, and are clear. They are also viewed as the best choice for a ring, but in actuality they have are not. They're only considered perfect because of marketing. In actuality, they're quite the opposite. This same reasoning applies to Cater - and you understand. Yet, you still love him. The diamond represents himself, and the heart shape is to remind you how much you mean to him}
Deuce Spade
He may be young, but he is not stupid...alright. Deuce is not always stupid. Sometimes? Yes. He makes poor decisions and lets his emotions get the better of him.
This? Not a poor decision, and he will never EVER think twice about it. From the moment the idea entered Deuce's head, it was decided. HE would become your husband. Nothing would stop him.
It began during his final year at Night Raven College. Graduation approached, and everyone was excited. Everyone, except for one person. You. He didn't notice it at first, being too hung up over how he actually managed to do well in school. Get this, he even became Heartslabyul Drumhead after Riddle graduated! What an honor! His mother was proud of him, and he was proud of himself! He had career aspirations, plans to get a home back home, and even a lovely s/o to flaunt. Life was great.
What...do you mean? That you're not going back with him? The Queendom of Roses is such a beautiful place! He's certain that you'll love it and can become adjusted. Why do you want to stay at this academy? Was three years not enough?
Deuce has never gotten mad at you before. A little miffed, sure, but never frustrated. He didn't like it. Not these feelings, or how he failed to notice that you planned this from the start. He was so wrapped up in his own happiness, that he failed to see that you felt troubled over his assumptions. It stung. In a moment of weakness, he left you alone, scared that he might raise his voice at you.
He needed to think. Alone. Thankfully he moved past sharing a room with Ace when Deuce became Housewarden. His phone rang many times. Some calls from you, Ace, his mother...for once, Deuce didn't think her advice could help him. Not when he was so confused.
He thought over his dreams for after college. They were the same that he had since prior to enrolling. Nothing changed...except for you and the other unexpected friends he made along the way. It began to settle within him that the unpredicted parts were more important to him than what he initially planned. The image of him as a successful worker, on his own, and being successful were all hollow if they didn't include you. Deuce wasn't upset that you planned to stay at NRC, he was upset that you didn't plan to stay with him.
Or did you? He interpreted it as such in the moment, but he's not so sure. All Deuce knows is that you're his best friend and the love of his life. If you stay here without him, will that change? He doesn't want to find out.
The next day, he's determined. It's impulsive, this he knows. Yet it's what feels right in his heart and Deuce has always trusted his gut instinct. This choice is entirely on him. No one's advice to excuse it if you don't reciprocate, and yet he isn't afraid. He might not have a ring, or fancy offerings. All he has is his love to offer, and a willingness to work around any obstacle. The hurt from the night prior sill aches in his chest, but he has done difficult things before. The pain merely serves as a reminder for how he hurt you, and what his future might be like if he doesn't act.
He finds you before breakfast. When the first rays of sunshine peak over the horizon and the air is still moist with morning dew. You lingered in the hall of mirrors, specifically near the portal to Heartslabyul Hall. Your presence startled him, and he nearly headbutt you from the speed he was going through the portal. Were you...planning to visit him? His heart shuddered in a mix of guilt and happiness. Even after the way he behaved, you still cared.
Upon closer inspection, you appear just as disheveled as him. He must have caused you a great deal of worry...damn it. He can't even be mad at himself. Not with things as they are.
Before you have a chance to speak, he hushes you. Deuce's jaw sets in determination and he reaches into his uniform pocket. He pulls out a paper ring. One that children often give each other on the playground when playing family. He then gets down on one knee, and holds it out with both hands.
"I am sorry. I never intended to hurt you, or push my ambitions on to you. I simply love you more than anything else, and was afraid that you did not want to be together anymore. I was afraid...that being apart would take away what we have. I realize that I was wrong. I didn't see it happening, but being with you has caused me to develop dreams beyond what I initially planned. Nothing I imagine feels right, unless you are in the picture. I don't have a proper ring prepared just yet...but will you marry me? I promise that no matter where we are - for better or worse, I will make you happy. I swear it!
Tumblr media
{Your initial ring is made out of his most recent homework assignment. It's frail, and one drop of water will break it. However, he meticulously folded it and it is the byproduct of many imperfect prototypes. The paper ring truly represents who Deuce is. It's rushed, fragile, and full of love}
Tumblr media
{He chooses a vintage ring. With both of your initials engraved on the center, he hopes that this ring attests to a promise no matter where you both are. It's rose-gold, not as bright as pure gold but still beautiful. The mixed color represents the different worlds you both come from, as well as your melded life}
Ace Trappolla
Ace tends to get comfortable, and when that happens it is difficult to ignite change. However, he is also headstrong. More than many give him credit for. So once the problem is identified, it's only a matter of time until he does something about it. What he does isn't necessarily always the best solution, sure; however, when threatened he will indeed act.
Initially Ace did not plan to find love. For a long time, he rejected it and passed his feelings off as a small crush. You're attractive, he's a man, a lil of this and a lil of that - who wouldn't feel a little heart throb once in a while? It only became an issue when you became one of his best friends. It felt like he was betraying you with these thoughts. They became a problem.
His first solution was to repress them further. Like stated, he noticed a problem and so he acted. Was this the best choice? No. It ended in a dumpster-fire. Any time another student even remotely expressed interest in you, Ace felt threatened. He couldn't spend time at your side without indecent thoughts popping up. Not like 'that' (geez, get your mind out of the gutter people), but more so domestic. Ick. What was happening?!
He couldn't hold it in, and his confession will forever be known as a feels-dump that started with you sharing half of your grilled-cheese with him because he missed lunch.
Yeah. Humiliating. Ugh.
Now you're his partner, of a long time. A very, very, very long time. Years post graduation. You both have settled into life together, so why tack a title? It's not like those mean anything, right? Everything was perfect as is, and weddings are expensive. You never brought it up either, so why worry?
Well, those titles do mean things in the eyes of the law. Ace never thought to get documentation about emergency contacts and whatnot updated. So when hit his head and got a concussion when jogging? The hospital wouldn't let you in. Not until he woke up, which was the longest four hours of your life.
You didn't express how much it bothered you, but words weren't necessary. The muted panic that you tried to hold back was enough. He expected you to enter his room angry, but instead all he got was defeat. That sight alone hurt worse than the leg.
The event got Ace thinking about things he hadn't in a long time - like marriage. He got too comfortable after letting the thought go once. To him, you were already irreplicable. Years do that, and he's certain that you feel the same way about him. If his young self could see him now...pah, he was such a turd. All 'I don't need anyone,' and empty words to play tough-guy. Little did he know that the person he would need the most in life was only a dimension-hop away haha.
It's that simple, really. No panic or nervousness. Ace decided definitively that he was going to marry you, and it only took years of being an airhead to figure it out.
He spends the night in the hospital for surveillance, and the staff is kind enough to prove you with a cot to sleep on. He stubbornly drags it next to his bed, and once you're sleeping soundly he 3slips a bandage over your ring finger to take the measurement
He planned to go buy the ring instantly after being discharged, but you wouldn't leave his side. Nagging about bed-rest and taking it easy...ugh! He needs to do this thing! No, he can't tell you about it. It's a secret!.....ugh, fine. One more day. Just because he loves the attention.
The next morning after, he's excitedly going to the nearest jewelers. He doesn't have a particular ring in mind, but he's done some research! It's the idea behind the ring that's important anyways....alright. Maybe he'll call up Cater.
Ace does nothing extravagant. He sticks to comfort. You, him, both eating dinner while watching a movie on the TV that evening. He quickly scarfs down his meal within the first 10 minutes and runs to your shared room after ditching his dishes. Stashed in his wallet, he pulls put the ring and hides it in his palm.
Ace tries to be smooth. He dims the living room lights, and sits down closer to you than before. He moves to take your hand with the one holding the ring, and sneak it on to your finger.
It fails, obviously. Who wouldn't notice someone trying to shove a piece of metal on their finger? You pull away on instinct, and the ring falls between the couch cushions. He freaks out for a moment and sifts through them as you continue to eat between giggles. Only when he holds the ring up in triumph do you quiet down.
"Not so funny now, is it? - Nah, just kidding. It was pretty funny....although I wanted this to be a bit more romantic. Eh. It's fine. From the look on your face, I'm guessing that you know what this is?...Uhh. Yeah. I thought it was a good time, y'know? We've been together so long that I already do think of you as my partner. I think you feel the same? Feel free to jump in if not....but, yeah. I love you. A lot. I'd really like to make it official, and I'm sorry it took me so long to get the guts to ask. Will you marry me?"
Tumblr media
{Tradition is for chumps. Ace wanted to get something fun and eye-catching. Many suggested otherwise, but this felt right. Your relationship has never been conventional and never will be. Hell, screw 'conventional,' because it's perfect as it is and so is this ring. He knows that this ring will draw your attention, and that's all he cares about}
End Note: None of the ring pictures are mine. I pulled them off of google images because - well, I had ideas and tried to find rings to match them. I write fanfic, not weld jewelry.

The Sound of Sunshine
Tumblr media
Characters: Housewardens (pick your favorite).
Genre: Romantic fluff.
Summary: A good time spent with a loved one is worth it, no matter the weather.
Warnings: GN!Reader, self indulgent, inspired by a real experience.
The skies above are gray, and the morning, autumn breeze is a little bit chilly.
Yet, there you are, running barefoot around the seashore, looking gloriously alive while laughing gleefully without any care in the world.
Happiness looks truly beautiful on you. Your lover thinks to himself as he admires you from a close distance.
Getting up from the sandy ground, he slowly walks up to you. An endearing smile plays on his lips at the delightful sound of your laughter echoing through the semi-empty beach.
“I’m surprised that you’re having a good time.”
Your running comes to a halt when you hear his voice behind you.
“Did you expect me to be sulking?” A grin graces your face as you turn around.
“I’m glad you aren’t.” He chuckles lightly, and lets out a relieved sigh. “I sort of feel bad though. I woke you up early to watch the sunrise, only to find out that there’s a 70% chance of rain.”
“Even if we checked the weather earlier, I’d still want to come here.” you wrap him in a warm embrace, lips curled into a smile as you look at him with fondness. “It’s alright. We’re making memories at the moment, so that’s all that matters.”
He returns a soft smile, and holds you closer.
“You’re right, sweetheart. Come to think of it, it’s actually a pretty lucky day.”
He woke up feeling hopeful. Blessed to witness a new day with the person he loves so dearly.
He got to walk hand in hand with you in a peaceful and beautiful place.
He got to sit next to you on the ride home.
Indeed, it was a pretty lucky day filled with gratitude and the little joys in life.
Whether the sky is pouring rain or the sun is shining in all its glory, he loves every moment of it because it was spent with you.

Two of a Kind (part 2)
Note: It's been a while, I finished this about a week ago, but didn't have the time to post it. So here it is! The long-awaited part two! CW: @melon14 @alwayszealousdetective @naomikazumi
You contemplated what you should do. Why are they fixated on you staying with them, or to put it better, why are they fixated on you? You haven't done anything special to catch their attention. While the 7 argue, Grim pulls on your clothes and whispers loudly. "Let's go." You looked at Grim and nodded along. As the argument continued you and Grim made haste to leave, but before you could take another step forward, Lilia spoke to you, ignoring Grim. "Where do you think you're going?" Lilia asked with curiosity, lacing his voice. You turned back around with an awkward smile as the arguing ceased and all eyes were on you. You didn't want to get involved, so you did the first thing that came into mind. You grabbed your cleaning supplies and threw them at the vice dorm leaders plus Ruggie and Ortho all while apologizing. You quickly picked up Grim and began to run.
You needed to get to a populated area, you could lose them there, or perhaps they would immediately lose interest the second you reacted badly. The latter became wishful thinking as you hear footsteps catching up to you quickly. This made absolutely no sense, what was with the attention you were receiving? Luckily the footsteps slowed down as they seemed to be fighting. You quickly picked up the pace as you had Grim in your arms. Grim looked over your shoulder to make sure you weren't being followed or having someone getting closer. You still were, but they weren't within arms distance. You only focused on getting away. You don't want to get involved with anyone in the main cast aside from Grim, but apparently they have different plans.
You ran into the cafeteria seeing that it would be the most crowded area in the morning. Putting Grim down you started to try to regulate your breath. You ran a lot and you managed to get to your destination without issue. That was until Grim pointed to the entrance. They followed you here, but they didn't know of your exact location. You mentally cursed at all the dorm leaders for bringing this chase upon you as you crawled under a table. The students at the table were going to say something before you hushed them. "When I get paid I'll give you my share of my pay if I successfully don't get found." You said. That immediately shut them up. Grim and you stayed silent, but much to your effort, Trey and Lilia approached the table.
The students tried to tell them you weren't here, but Trey looked under the table causing you and Grim to scream. Which made the entire cafeteria silent and attracted the attention of the others looking for you. "Oya~ Oya~ It seems that our angel fish is trying to avoid all of us.~" Jade spoke up. Angelfish? Isn't that the nickname people have used in romantic fanfictions? There is no way they have been called that. "My name is [Name] you don't have to use nicknames… '' You said. They all looked at you from your position and you just recoiled further back. They looked at each other then back at you. They laughed. "Sure sure rose bud." Trey said with a chuckle. You didn't want to hear this! You regret staying here! Grim looked at you confused yet a little disturbed. These are guys he knew and he knows they have never called you any sort of pet name.
The headmaster walked in the cafeteria. "What is going on?! I have been told that my employee has been chased and there was screaming in the cafeteria!" You never knew that hearing his voice would be such a relief! You and Grim leaped out from underneath the table and ran behind the Headmaster. Crowley stared at the Vice Dorm Leaders. "What is the meaning of this?!" Lilia stepped up. "We simply wanted to invite them to our dorms for dinner, it seems we have overwhelmed them…" He said, sighing and putting his hands on his waist. "If that's the case I can make this announcement then. With the many requests, [Name] is now a-" Before he could finish you yelled out something. "I quit this job!" Everyone looked at you. You knew where he was going with that announcement. Crowley looked at you. "Well dear, you can't quit anymore! You're a student now!" "I'm dropping out then." You said with a straight face.
Everyone seemed surprised at this. "Shehehe You don't have anywhere to go silly!" Ruggie said. "I'll find somewhere else. I don't want to be a student. I don't want to be near this school if I'm going to be chased after being overwhelmed. "I already signed your papers though." Crowley said disappointed. "I don't care! I'm looking for somewhere else to help me!" As you walked out you managed to bump into someone else who held you in the position. You looked up to find you bumped into Malleus yet again. "S-sorry for bumping into you again! Could you please let me go?" You asked.
Malleus looked at the space that seemed to have a crowd around it. "What's going on here?" You heard someone else ask. You looked around and saw that all the dorm leaders were here. Except Idia who seemed to be using the tablet. "Ah! They wanted to drop out after your generous recommendation." You turned to glare at Crowley before Malleus grabbed your chin and stared at you with disappointment. "Is this true child of man?" You mentally cursed yourself for being caught in this situation. "…Yes…" Before anyone else could say something, Grim stood up for you. "If they don't wanna stay they don't hafta!" Malleus' head snapped to Grim with anger.
Grim wanted to take back what he said from the looks of it, but didn't. "Obviously this school is already stressing them out and they weren't here for even a day." You wanted to thank Grim. But the headmaster spoke again sadly. "How about this? They become a student, but they will not be going to any active dorms." Anger erupted from the main cast as they started to try to convince Crowley otherwise. This… This never happened before. This isn't part of the story… Why are they so obsessed with the idea of you staying at one of their dorms? You quickly pushed yourself away from Malleus and grabbed Grim as you headed towards the Headmaster. The sky became covered in dark clouds.
This wasn't good. You needed to think of a way to get everyone to leave you alone. "HEY!" You yelled, causing everyone to stop arguing. "I'll give you all one month. One. To try to convince me to stay at your respective dorm. If none of you succeed you all leave me alone." The Dorm and Vice Dorm leaders looked at you and most of them looked smug. “That won't be a hard feat. Heartslabyul is clearly the best.” Riddle said with the smirk you had originally seen in the game previous to being stuck in this loop. Once again the people who you'd originally seen as just characters take stabs at each other. You and Grim simply left. It was just the morning and the second day and the story had already drastically changed.
After leaving the Cafeteria the headmaster approached you. “I had almost forgotten. Here is the schedule you both share. Don't be late to classes. I will also hand you an allowance at the end of the day. For I am so gracious! Do not worry, I'll make sure you get home soon.” He patted you on the back and Grim on his head and walked away. Frankly you only expected things to become worse by the passing hour. “We just have to avoid them all, Grim.” You sighed before walking to class with Grim, who was upset. What you failed to see was two pairs of eyes following you.

He will go back into his Octopot 😔
Thinks of ways that he could trick you into a contract where he gets paid with very soft hugs
"Yes, a contract!... Why are you laughing at me, Y/N? Do you not see the benefits of this opportunity? I'll list them. First of all,-" you stand over Azul as you push his head into your chest and gently wrap your arms around his figure. It takes a while for Azul to stop short-circuiting from being smothered in love and hug you back.

"Hm? You want me to what?..... I supposed I could relax for a little while." You had finally coaxed Riddle into taking a small break with you from his housewarden duties. As he sat down next to you, you gently placed a hand on his head and led him to lay on your breasts as a small blush dusted his features.

You peeked around a corner when you heard that familiar yet annoying voice. Yet there was no one there and you were about to turn around and leave when-
"BOO!"
You shrieked as Lilia giggled while hanging upside-down from the ceiling. Your ass landed on the floor with a loud thump, while Lilia landed on you with an even louder thump right with his face in your breasts, as always.

First Unbirthday Together ~ *Heartslabyul*
Tumblr media
Summary: You’ve been invited to an Unbirthday party at the Heartslabyul dorm! This time without all the overblot nonsense!
Pairing: N/A
Genre: Fluffy Drabble
Word Count: 520
Warning: N/A
Masterlist
Taglist: @savanaclaw1996 @goseew
It was Riddle who approached you, with encouragement from Trey. With fiddling fingers and wandering eye contact, he said, “Prefect, on behalf of Heartslabyul, we would like to invite you to our next Unbirthday party.”
When you agreed, Riddle merely nodded before rushing off. Arriving at the dorm, both him and Trey mobilized the Heartslabyul students to create the best Unbirthday party in the history of the dorm. Cater gathered ideas from social media and both Ace and Deuce were in charge of manual labor. Trey was head of baking and Riddle oversaw all of the preparations, being the Housewarden and all.
The whole dorm was in a frenzy. Everything had to meet Riddle’s impossible standards. If anything, he got even more demanding! Ace complained frequently behind his back, eventually earning himself a scolding from Trey. Cater documented everything for Magicam. And Deuce almost spoiled the surprise before Ace could stop him.
Finally, the day of the party rolled around. You arrived, smiling and carrying a small parcel. It was Trey and Cater who met you at the front of the dorm. While Cater was live streaming, Trey asked about the bag in your hand.
“Oh, well, where I come from, it’s customary to give the host a gift.” You explained.
“Well, that’s very sweet of you. Thank you!” Trey took the present before escorting you to the gardens where the party was taking place.
Riddle, Ace, and Deuce greeted you next. Riddle led you to the seat of honor and presented you with a tray full of a wide array of tarts. “Take your pick, Prefect. They were made especially for you.”
“For me? Oh, you shouldn’t have!” You exclaimed, before selecting one of the delicious sweets.
You ate with the students, laughing and sharing both tea and stories. You seemed to be having such a good time, the Heartslabyul boys couldn’t help but beam with pride. They were glad they could share such a joyous afternoon with you in the gardens.
As the party started to wind down, the six of you were finishing up a card game and some more tea. Setting your cup down, you asked, “So, why did you guys invite me out today?”
Cater frowned. “Because you’re our friend of course! Why wouldn’t we invite you?”
“Well, Deuce said that this party was going to be extra special. I assumed it was because I was coming. Am I wrong?”
Trey smacked the back of Deuce’s head as Ace muttered a “nice going”.
Riddle cleared his throat. “I’ll answer that. We know that you’re far from home, yet you try to share your culture with us. We thought we should do the same. So we tried to make the best Unbirthday party we could, just for you.”
“Aww, you guys!” You gushed, eyes watering. “Thank you! Thank you so much! No one has ever done anything so nice for me before. I really, truly, sincerely appreciate all of your effort and kindness.”
Each of them blushed in varying shades of red from your gratitude. It’s safe to assume none of them will ever forget today.

Slowly, Surely, Sadly
Summary: Who would've thought one smile could make you like someone? Of all people, you never expected to fall for Riddle—not after his overblot. POV: 2nd Person Pronouns: Gender-neutral Admin/Writer: Cressa🦋 Tags: Fluff, Romance, Angst, No happy ending, sorry folks, Slow Burn, Minor ADeuce Shenanigans again, Unrequited (maybe not, who knows?) Feelings, Spoilers for Book 1 if yall haven't finished it Word Count: 3, 304 This is my first time writing full-on angst. I already had this plot in mind last April, but this was my only chance to finally write it all down. I hope I did my job, and I'm sorry also not sorry for the feels. I was running on 5 hours of sleep and a hopeless romantic playlist when I wrote this. I hope yall enjoy, though 💕
Tumblr media
Whenever you looked at Riddle, the memory of his swollen cheek and tear-brimmed eyes overlapped with his stern expression. Even with the constant lectures and helicopter parenting becoming less frequent, you could never forget his ruthless reign over Heartslabyul. His first impression was that of a tyrannical and merciless ruler, and you’d never forget that.
Yet, you could never forget how he looked like a lost child in a garden of roses when Ace punched him that day.
“Would you like to sample one of our teatime treats, Prefect?”
Riddle’s voice pulled you away from your thoughts. Your eyes darted from your teacup to the housewarden. An expectant yet patient smile curled his lips, which was a stark contrast to his natural frown. Your eyes lingered on the smile on his cherubic face.
“Sure,” you answered, somewhat in a daze. You took a sip of your tea, before your nose scrunched a little. Before Riddle noticed your grimace, you put the teacup down and dropped three sugar cubes in your drink.
You didn’t miss the amused twitch of Riddle’s lips from the corner of your eyes. This action would have earned you a reprimand and a lecture on one of hundreds of Heartslabyul’s rules. After his overblot and the incident in the rose garden, Riddle was becoming more lenient.
“You should mind your sugar intake—” Well, he’s still working on the leniency, but he’s trying— “Do you prefer a tart, a cupcake, or a cookie? Maybe you’d like to try a slice of today’s cake?”
You gave Riddle your preferred dessert, then you watched him reach over the table. Dainty, gloved fingers curled around the dish, before he brought it to you. You gave a brief nod and a mumble of thanks, before you took a bite of the treat.
“...!” You quietly moaned from the sweet taste that melted on your tongue. With a hand on your cheek, you slowly chewed to savor the sugar that graced your tastebuds. Your eyes seemed to sparkle as you dug into more of the dessert.
“It’s so good!”
You didn’t miss the satisfied smile on Riddle’s face, still cherubic and radiant. Amidst the chatter and raucous noise in this week’s Unbirthday party, you somehow heard the hint of pride in the red-haired sophomore’s words.
“Of course, that’s to be expected. Trey’s baking skills are the best in Heartslabyul—possibly in the entirety of Night Raven College.” Riddle paused, before softly adding, “I prefer his strawberry tarts, though. It’s a shame he couldn’t make any for today.”
The wistfulness in that tone of his made you pause. As Riddle took his own sip of tea, you couldn’t look away from him.
One afternoon, you marched through the silent corridors of the arcane academy. Heavy footfalls echoed in your ears, as if to mock you. The reminder of why you were wandering the halls alone made you frown.
“Where the hell are you, Grim?” You mumbled, head turning left and right, as you stomped. All the doors were closed shut, and voices could be heard through them. You doubt this area had an empty classroom at the moment.
Professor Crewel’s scowl and his whip flashed in your mind. As much as you loved Grim and his snark, you’d rather not face the wrath of the dog-loving professor. Brows furrowing, you grumbled again, “If he skips alchemy lessons again, I’m going to wring his neck and—”
“Prefect?” The gentle voice forced you to a halt, and you blinked at Heartslabyul’s warden in front of you. Riddle looked at you with a raised brow, before he crossed his arms and tapped his heel on the floor.
“It’s a pleasant surprise to see you, but…” He paused, eyes roaming your face. “You don’t seem to be in a good mood, and your class is about to start. I passed by Ace and Deuce heading towards Professor Crewel’s classroom earlier.”
Closing your eyes, you took a deep breath and sighed. You were already on good terms with the housewarden, and you’d rather not get collared for misdirecting your annoyance.
“Hi Riddle,” you greeted with a small, strained smile to be polite. “I’m actually looking for Grim. I lost him in the crowd during the lunch rush, and well…”
You tried so hard not to curse the lovable, annoying puffball. Another heavy sigh left your lips with a shake of your head. The strained smile became an apologetic one. Riddle stared at you, most likely scrutinizing something about you. Maybe he was judging you for letting Grim get away.
“I shouldn’t be keeping you here. It’s nice to see you, though—”
“Hold on,” Riddle stepped closer and reached for your tie, “your tie is crooked. Let me fix it for you.”
You held your breath, biting your tongue to stifle any surprised noises. The red-haired sophomore was too focused on fixing your tie to notice your reaction. His knuckles brushed your chest as he tightened the knot, and you tensed. He didn’t even ask for permission. He just took initiative, and it reminded you of a doting yet strict mother for some reason.
“You should be more conscious of your appearance,” Riddle reminded kindly while smoothing the creases of your uniform coat. He stepped back and seemed satisfied with his intervention. His lips stretched into a satisfied smile again, and you couldn’t look away.
“Now, off you go. Professor Crewel isn’t forgiving when it comes to tardiness.”
“R-right,” you stuttered with a faint warmth on your cheeks. You were tempted to slap yourself for losing composure like this, but you wanted to keep your dignity. Riddle would think you lost your mind if you did.
“Thanks, Riddle.”
His smile softened, yet it grew wider. The sharp and scrutinizing gaze melted into one of appreciation. Your heart skipped a beat. The air was knocked out of your lungs. Something fuzzy and warm filled your chest as you stared at Riddle. Your fingers twitched, as if longing to touch Riddle in some way.
It was ridiculous, but you didn’t dislike the feeling either.
“You’re welcome. If you’ll excuse me, I should be heading to my own class. I wish you luck, Prefect.”
He skirted around you in one, fluid motion. The click of his heels echoed in the empty corridor as you watched him go. His short figure carried a sense of dignity and pride, something that used to terrify and annoy his wards in Heartslabyul.
It used to intimidate you, but you couldn’t look away from him now. Even when Riddle turned a corner and disappeared, you couldn’t stop staring.
Ever since that day, you couldn’t stop noticing these things about Riddle. His entire face brightened, eyes glittering and cheeks flushing pink, when presented with a strawberry tart. Whenever he smiled, his gray irises seemed to hide behind the chub of his cheeks. He always looked red in the face whenever he was embarrassed, but the addition of a scowl and wide eyes showed his anger instead. His voice always raised in pitch, becoming less gentle and more crazed, whenever he became agitated and enraged. He even lost his formality and courteousness at that point: language becoming more crude yet still refined.
One day, while preparing for a game of croquet, you pointed out how happy Riddle seemed when he took care of the hedgehogs. Ace shot you a weird look. Deuce looked perplexed, lost even, when his eyes darted to you.
“Really?” He asked, looking between Riddle crouched on the ground and you who looked surprised. “He doesn’t look any different. How could you tell?”
Brows furrowed in confusion, you told them, “It’s not obvious, but he’s smiling. See? His eyes look brighter when he looked at the hedgehogs, too. Oh, and there’s the fact that he gently pets their heads with a finger. He’s avoiding touching their quills, and he’s trying not to agitate the tiny things.”
There was a long, uneasy stretch of silence that followed your answer. After a moment, Ace’s stunned look shifted into a mischievous grin. Deuce mirrored his expression, and it reminded you of that one time he lost his composure and beat up a pair of upperclassmen.
“Huh, really?” There was an intrigued and knowing tone in the redhead’s voice. Meanwhile, Deuce turned to look at Riddle as if to verify your observation. Although, the ravenette was still grinning, as if he knew something you didn’t.
In that moment, you realized you were screwed—so, so screwed.
Upon seeing your confusion warp into a crestfallen and horrified realization, Deuce clapped a hand on your shoulder with a snicker.
“Looks like the Prefect has a crush,” he teased, but you wanted none of it. Ace followed with an incredulous yet amused, “Really? Housewarden Riddle? Strict and overbearing Housewarden Riddle? Oh, your standards are buried six feet under, Prefect.”
A hand smacked Deuce’s own off your person, and you began to stumble over your words. Both lovable yet annoying idiots laughed it off, while you half-heartedly threatened them with a raised fist.
“Shut up, or I swear to the Seven—!”
Ace and Deuce laughed louder, nearly howling and sniggering in delight. As they clutched their stomachs and you grabbed the collars of their uniforms, Riddle’s confused and curious stare was left unnoticed.
Riddle continued to invite you to their weekly Unbirthday parties as an honorary guest. He still offered you desserts with little to no comment on your sweet tooth. He still fussed over your appearance whenever you two passed each other in the halls. He always gave you a subtle smile, despite his stern demeanor. The more you spent time around the housewarden, the more dread weighed in your stomach.
You couldn’t ignore the flutters of your heart, how it flipped and did cartwheels whenever Riddle treated you kindly. No matter what he did, you always felt like you were floating and walking on clouds.
You still longed to touch him—maybe brush back a stray strand that fell over his forehead. You wanted to know how it felt to hold his hand. Maybe even take a stroll in Heartslabyul’s rose maze with him, hand-in-hand and talking about anything. You wanted to spend teatime alone with him. You wanted to see him smile after taking a bite of a strawberry tart you made for him. You wanted to gaze at the moon and the stars with him in the comfort of Riddle’s dorm room, just sitting together in that window alcove with pillows and blankets.
You wanted to do so much more with Riddle, but the large mirror before you spelled the end of your hopes and dreams.
“Well, Prefect,” Crowley began with a jovial tone, which was a stark contrast to the despair that gripped your heart, “I found a way for you to return to your world. After long, grueling hours of searching for the solution, I fulfilled my promise to you, and I even gathered your friends here for a heartfelt farewell.”
You called bullshit on that, but you still appreciated Crowley’s effort. True to his word, all of the people you befriended surrounded you in the Mirror Chamber. The occasion was treated as a formal one, if their dorm uniforms didn’t make a statement already. Everyone had varying degrees of restrained emotion, as you stood before the mirror that led to your home dimension.
Grim stood behind you with clenched paws and glassy eyes. You spotted Ace and Deuce grinning, but there was a hint of a strain in their smiles. Kalim was close to bursting into tears. Leona stared at you with a neutral look and a hand on his hip, but the harsh dig of his fingers told you otherwise. Azul wore his usual smile, one reserved for business, and Jade had a polite smile as well. Floyd didn’t share the same sentiment. The more capricious Leech brother scowled as if he ate Lilia’s cooking after being promised a tasty meal.
You didn’t dare look at Riddle. You couldn’t. You wouldn’t. You can’t.
Crowley spread his arms with a self-satisfied smile that both irked and endeared you to him. “Aren’t I a magnanimous and gracious headmaster to do something like this for you?”
He made a show of spinning on his heel and walking towards the doors to the Mirror Chamber. With a flamboyant wave of his hand, he exclaimed, “I’ll leave you to say your goodbyes and well-wishes. However…”
Crowley looked at you from over his shoulder, and your throat tightened at the soft smile that curled his lips.
“It was a pleasure to have you here, Prefect. I would’ve loved for you to stay until graduation, but alas. I wish you all the best once you return home.”
The last thing you saw was a swish of his cape, before a heavy weight nearly toppled you to the ground. Tan, bejeweled arms hugged your waist as a loud bawl harshly rang in the room. You didn’t even need to look to see that it was Kalim blubbering through his tears. Jamil’s alarmed voice echoed in your ears, and that seemed to be everyone’s cue to surround you.
Tearful farewells, wistful wishes, and unfulfilled promises filled the enclosed space. Grim clung to you all this time, all the while mewling and whining about how he’d lose his henchman.  Still, he was crying his eyes out. The large mirror was obscured from your sight, as if the unusual group of friends you made during your time here intended this. You couldn’t help but laugh—a bittersweet sound—as everyone tried to get a word in with you. Even Malleus came to say his goodbyes, though he seemed more reserved than usual.
Then the dreaded moment came: Riddle approached you with that same smile, the gentle and subtle one he always graced you with. Everyone who noticed the shift in mood somehow left space for you and the Heartslabyul housewarden to talk. You almost giggled when you overheard Jade scold Floyd for whining about this.
You forced your smile to widen, even if your eyes stung and your throat tightened again. Your voice cracked at the end, but that could be mistaken for holding back tears.
“Hi, Riddle,” you whispered as you felt your throat tighten more, “I guess I’m leaving before I could have another Unbirthday party with all of you. I was so excited to try the macarons, too.”
The gentle smile became forlorn, and it reminded you of that time he lamented over not having strawberry tarts in that one Unbirthday party. A twinge in your heart made your breath hitch, but you hoped Riddle wouldn’t notice.
“It’s a shame, really,” he told you with a falter in his smile. The corners of his lips hitched up, as if that never happened in the first place. “I wanted you to try some tea from the Queendom of Roses as well, but… that may never happen now.”
“Yeah,” you whispered, finding it hard to breathe. The sting in your eyes worsened. Some invisible hand squeezed your heart, as if threatening to puncture the fragile thing with its talons. You maintained your composure as much as you can.
You couldn’t help but admit, “I wish I could have more time with all of you.”
I wish I had more time with you.
“I wish I could watch the third-years graduate. I wish I could see all of us graduate here, even if I don’t have magic.” You chuckled, and you found yourself with loose lips around Riddle.
“I want to have more Unbirthday parties with everyone in Heartslabyul. I want to have lunch with everyone in Mostro Lounge. I want to watch the next interdorm Spelldrive tournament and cheer for your guys. I want to spend Christmas and welcome the New Year with everyone. I want a lot of things, but… Well, I’m going home.”
Riddle’s smile slipped, and you watched him visibly swallow with a subtle frown. Even when he wasn’t smiling, he still had a gentle look on him.
“Who knows, Prefect? Maybe there will come a time when we find a way for you to visit and vice versa.” Riddle sounded so unsure, so hesitant, in his reassurance. Still, you appreciated it.
You ignored how much your heart hurt and your jaw clenched when he said that.
“I hope so.” Chuckling, you kept your arms to yourself as you smiled at Riddle. He was becoming a blur of red, white, and gold. Warm tears already spilled down your cheeks, before you even realized what was happening.
You couldn’t see his reaction, but you raised a hand to wipe away your tears. While the heel of your palm rubbed your cheek, you mumbled, “Sorry. I just…”
A white handkerchief was offered to you, and you took it with murmured gratitude. Your eyes were drawn to the embroidered initials of Riddle’s name on the corner. The cloth felt soft on your skin, and you found some comfort in that.
“Keep it,” Riddle told you with that smile again, “so that you would remember me every time you see it.”
Your mind blanked at his words. Riddle referred to himself rather than everyone in Heartslabyul, even everyone in NRC. Heart fluttering and throat tightening, you resisted the urge to sob. Hope came as a surge of warmth and the weight of dread in your chest.
Not now. Not when I’m leaving.
With a smile, melancholic yet bright, you dabbed away the last of your tears and tucked the handkerchief into your uniform pocket. A burst of courage let you wrap your arms around Riddle in a hug with a whispered, “Thank you. I’m going to miss you—all of you.”
I’m going to miss you more.
Normally, Riddle would be flustered at the sudden gesture of affection. You expected a loud stutter and an indignant scolding, but he simply returned the hug. His face was buried in your shoulder, and you felt his arms tighten around you.
“You’re welcome.” You heard him whisper, followed by a faint sniff. Something warm and wet soaked through the coat and into your shoulder. You hugged Riddle tighter, as if to hide him from the rest of the world at that moment.
Too brief for your liking, Riddle pulled away with that same smile. His eyes appeared to be glassy, reflecting your tearful expression and wobbly grin. Your heart twinged again, and your jaw clenched.
It was that smile that damned you the moment Riddle fixed your tie for the first time.
“I’ll see you sometime soon, yeah?” You asked, laughing off your dread and despair. Riddle seemed to hesitate, as if he wanted to say something. Your heart stuttered as you watched him open his mouth with reluctance.
Something held him back. He shook his head and merely smiled at you again.
“Of course,” he murmured, eyes hiding behind his cheeks again. “I’m looking forward to seeing you again, Prefect.”
In that moment, you’d have stolen the stars from the sky if Riddle wanted to make a wish. You’d bake tarts and cakes in the Heartslabyul kitchen, even if it ended in a mess of flour, if he wanted sweets. You’d stay past curfew in his dorm room to stargaze, if he was willing to break the rules just this once. You’d shower him in kisses, hugs, and cuddles if he hesitated to spell out his desire for affection.
You’d stay in Twisted Wonderland if he asked you to.
Swallowing your heartache, you forced a smile—bright and brilliant, putting the sun to shame. Your gaze never left Riddle, while unspoken feelings laid heavy on the tip of your tongue. Reality crushed your daydreams and wishes, reduced to rubble and dust. The next words felt final and absolute.
“Goodbye, Riddle.”
What remained was the handkerchief with his stitched initials in your pocket.

Sleepover Headcanons—--
Second Years
Tumblr media
Content: Prefect!reader, platonic, mentions of a bug
Other parts: first years, third years
ROUND 2!! I finally have an excuse to write more for Silver...
Riddle
He arrives early but waits outside until the exact time to come in. It's probably good, because you need to worry about disciplining Grim last-minute before the whole dorm sets on fire when those two break out into a fight.
The refreshments he brought are mostly healthy ones, but Trey had also made him pack one of his cakes beforehand, so you'll be eating pretty good. It goes without saying that he brought tea to drink alongside his snacks.
He doesn't quite understand the concept of sleepover games, so he just brought crossword puzzles. The only person who was having any sort of fun with his old-man taste in games was Silver... Unless you're also willing to participate. Kalim played too, but it was likely out of kindness.
You had to buy a fire extinguisher before the sleepover out of fear that Ruggie, Azul, or Floyd would set Riddle off (emphasis on Floyd). And it almost did happen, had Jamil and Silver not stepped in. You stopped Jade from helping because you honestly just don't want to be in debt.
As far as games, he typically wins first place when it's cards. Also, you don't have to be extra wary about cheaters since Riddle will probably catch them for you. It's just in his nature.
He'll probably demand to play something else if you start with video games. The others will absolutely crush him on this—and by that, I mean full-on last place for almost every game.
It's really no surprise that Riddle sent himself off to sleep early. Floyd attempted to provoke him into staying up, but he didn't fall for it this time. He will come to regret this in the morning when he discovers the dainty, frilly, little bowtie tying his antennas (ahoges) together. Courtesy of Octatrio.
Silver
He planned to come early, but since he fell asleep, he ended up a few minutes late. It's not anything that bad, but he still apologizes for it.
He brings popular snacks and drinks with the help of Lilia's guidance, but... Yeah, he brought protein bars too and basically no one there is eating it except Ruggie and MAYBE Jamil. Kalim will have a singular one if he's offered.
Surprisingly good at online games? He's played enough times with Lilia to the point where he's at least better than most of the traditional game enjoyers there. He can be a bit proud of his wins sometimes, but he's not going to rub it in anyone's faces. In fact, he may go a bit easier some rounds and even give tips if the skill gap is too large.
He's also decent at traditional games, but the others typically win. The most painful part is waiting for him to wake up when it's his turn.
He's probably one of the few people (besides Kalim) that genuinely don't get bothered by Grim, or anyone else for that matter. 0 arguments, 0 property damage, 100% apologies if he causes any issues—even minor ones.
Fell asleep WAY early. He had been constantly nodding in and out of consciousness since the sleepover started, but completely fell asleep around the same time as Riddle. With Riddle unconscious, everyone was much more inclined to start ramping up the pranks, so Silver ended up with dyed hair and a face full of makeup the next morning.
Ruggie
You immediately watch this hyena like a hawk to ensure he's not pocketing anything from Ramshackle and actually eating snacks in moderation, not just downing everything at once for the sake of saving his own food expenses.
His behavior during traditional games can be explained pretty easily. He participates in a few games, gets a competitive streak, tries to cheat, gets caught by Riddle (and forcefully forfeit from the game!), then claims it was boring anyways.
When everyone moved to online games, he was pretty excited since he rarely, if ever, gets the luxury to play such things. As a quick learner, he did much better than most of the others at the very least. He usually ends up in the middle to top place.
Even though he has a knack for teasing others, most of the second years there are either able to brush it off or they're just too oblivious (Silver, Kalim). Besides, he avoids provoking intimidating people like Floyd, so you rarely have to worry about fights occuring because of him. The only “fight” that may happen is with Grim, but that's easy to break up.
He can stay up pretty late, and considering his awareness of the pranks that will be pulled on early sleepers, he's determined to outlast everyone else. Ruggie only allows himself to sleep after seeing everyone else pass out; unbeknownst to you, however, it's also because he wants to pack up all of the leftover snacks and leave with them in the morning.
Kalim
The sweet little ball of sunshine. Yeah, maybe he arrived slightly late, but you can forgive him. He probably would've arrived later if it wasn't for Jamil dragging him there.
Initially, he was going to bring all sorts of trinkets, games, and a whole 5 course meal to the sleepover if Jamil hadn't stopped him. So instead, there's just a wide variety of snacks and a handful of games/movies. Most of his tastes suit the others due to his experience in hosting many, many parties... And having the help of Jamil's advice.
Never fights with the others, and in fact, tries to lighten the mood whenever tension begins to grow (especially after games). No matter if he wins or loses, he will always be just as happy as before.
Even though he's a bit better at traditional games, he's pretty decent with video games too. The most surprising part is that he's not even taking it seriously despite his wins. He's just playing for the fun of it.
He can stay up decently late, but since he's completely fine with getting pranked in his sleep, he doesn't have the urge to force himself awake. Kalim falls asleep after Silver and Riddle, but he's protected from pranks anyways because Azul wants to forge good ties with him (MONEY.) and Jamil has the obligation to do so.
Jamil
Arrives at the same time as Kalim, but only because he has to assist him. He would've been there right on time if it was up to him, mostly because he didn't want to come early in case it would intrude on your preparations. Everything that Jamil brought is combined with Kalim's items since there was a lot to carry as is.
He's constantly babysitting Kalim during the sleepover while keeping his eye out for troublemakers, so thankfully, your workload is lightened by a lot.
All of this immediately goes out the window as soon as he sees a cockroach crawling toward him. Ramshackle is all broken down, so what did he really expect? Remember that fire hydrant you brought in case of Riddle's outbursts? You ended up using it on his fire magic instead. He was about to fire again when he realized that the roach was (somehow) still alive, but fortunately, Ruggie just straight up stomped on it. With his bare feet. Everyone immediately told him to wash it off afterwards (except Silver because that is the same exact person who washes his hair with body soap). At least it was better than the alternative happening, which would be Floyd taking care of it himself. Who knows what would've transpired.
He's one of the top scorers in both traditional games and video games, yet, he doesn't get first place all the time. He's typically unbothered by it, but can get internally competitive. Also, he can be very passive aggressive about others taunting him for his performance. By “others”, it's mostly the Octatrio.
He has the capacity to stay up super late, but due to overexerting himself from babysitting Kalim and trying to decimate that roach, he falls asleep before some of the others. By this time, the only people who are still awake would be Jade and Ruggie, so he's still not safe from pranks. His hair is tied into braided double tails, finished with a frilly pink ribbon weaved between each side. Your ghost camera will probably become a valuable asset for Octavinelle after all of these photos...
Azul
He came slightly early to try negotiating a deal for himself to use Ramshackle again under some very convoluted terms. After everything that happened, though, even Grim was having no part of that. The deal was rejected and everyone went back to casual mode.
He bought menu items from Monstro Lounge for everyone to have, which was obviously just another marketing tactic. Since it wasn't harmful, it wasn't called out at any point in time. He still made sure to cover his expenses by eating enough of everyone else's refreshments, with the assistance of Jade and Floyd of course.
He's a close competitor with Riddle in traditional games and only slightly better than him in video games. He may not be awful with video games, but compared to the others, his skill gap is still very clear.
Losing doesn't bother him too much since there's always something to look forward to at the sleepover. Namely, making himself known to Kalim and Silver. Luckily, Jamil knows how to keep some distance between Kalim and Azul, but you'll have to remind Silver that the octopus may be aiming for a bigger goal when speaking with him. Malleus.
Azul falls asleep only slightly before Jamil, which is both relieving yet terrifying. For once, you no longer have to worry about any underhanded plays from him. At the same time, who's going to control the mushroom maniac Jade now?
Jade
Comes with Azul, as expected. He brought his own refreshments in addition to the Monstro Lounge menu items, but... It's just a basketful of mushrooms. He also brought some tea on the side to drink with the mushrooms.
He's decent at traditional games, but mostly scores in the middle of everyone else. Unfortunately for him, most of the second years are aware that he'll pull shady tactics.
In video games, he's also slightly in the middle to low range since he doesn't care too much for them. He's seen Floyd playing them a decent bit, but he doesn't join all the time.
He's very compliant at first. He never rages over games and mostly stands on the sidelines during arguments. The worst he did was add fuel to the fire verbally.
That all ends when the snacks start running low, and the mushrooms start coming out... Obviously, most people didn't take them. Riddle and Jamil were too suspicious of it (so obviously Kalim isn't allowed to have any either). Azul and Floyd are SICK of mushrooms. Ruggie only eats them after identifying them as edible, because there's no way he could let food go to waste. Silver... He's the only person who legitimately enjoyed it. The mushrooms were downed quicker than chips. Never trust risotto enjoyers.
You weren't sure if he was the type to sleep early or late at first, but you eventually realized that he only stayed up for so long to observe the pictures you took of all the pranked sleepers. You better watch your ghost camera from now on, lest it goes missing one day.
Ruggie doesn't really want to deal with the consequences of messing with him, and neither do you, so he's also one of the few people who were saved from pranks.
Floyd
Came with Jade and Azul, didn't bring anything except a giant shrimp plush. He was mostly just gnawing on it and tossing it around for most of the sleepover, leaving you feeling rather uneasy. Who knows how many times that shrimp plushie has needed to be sewed back together.
Overall, he's the #1 fear monger and fight initiator of the sleepover. If anyone has concerns, he's making it worse. If he loses a game, he'll just get bored at best and squeeze someone at worst. For the record, he never let Jamil live down the cockroach incident, and will likely try chasing him down with bugs if he feels like it after the sleepover.
His performance in games is extremely prone to changing, as expected. In video games, he's usually #1—unless he loses motivation midway. In traditional games, he's usually in the middle score when motivated, but tends to get bored faster when he doesn't win.
At the beginning of the sleepover, he claimed he was going to stay awake longer than anyone else, but towards the end, he decides he doesn't really care to stay up and sleeps early instead. His "early" is still decently late, but before Azul and Jamil. Floyd falls asleep still gnawing on the shrimp plush. Maybe it would be best to sleep far away from him.
Only Jade is really daring enough to prank him in his sleep, leaving a mushroom in his mouth so he gnaws on that instead. Floyd will definitely flip out when he wakes up with the taste of mushroom all over his mouth.
Special: Scary Movie
Ft. Grim
Kalim is the one who brought the horror movies, but it was mostly due to Jamil's recommendations.
At first, it really only had an effect on Kalim, Riddle, Grim, and Azul—though Ruggie felt slightly uneasy too. Jamil had already seen this movie before, and Silver had built up tolerance to horror because of Lilia. Jade and Floyd had also watched their fair share of horror movies, so it hardly affected them... especially when they constantly make their targets' lives a horror movie.
You likely weren't too affected by it since Twisted Wonderland residents are afraid of literal marshmallow-looking ghosts, so why not put in your own choice of horror movie once this one's done?
Congratulations, you officially left the boys fearing for their lives. This type of horror doesn't even exist in their world, so you just gave everyone a new fear. Not a singular person was safe from that.
You had to cover Grim's eyes for some parts, leaving everyone else to fend for their selves. It was almost funny seeing how some of them were trying to hide their faces behind each other's backs, or even your's. Especially the taller boys.
It takes everyone a few weeks to readjust with what they just saw. You'll definitely get questioned by some of their peers on occasion, but it was all worth it!

Can I make a request a headcanon of Riddle, Vil's, Jamil's and Azul's reaction to finding out that their romantic partner is a direct descendant of the Great Seven? (Like the ones who found and made their dorms?)
Male or Female Yuu/MC/Reader/Y/N please and thank you!
What a wonderful ask, my friend ! I apologize for making this so late, I hope that you will still enjoy reading these head canons if you are still out there. I'll be using gender neutral reader since I wanted everyone to enjoy it but if you wish for a male/female reader only, send in a request and I'll get right to it !
Pairing(s) : vil schoenheit x reader, jamil viper x reader, Azul ashengrotto x reader, riddle rosehearts x reader
Warning(s) : gn!reader, may have some cursing, they/them pronouns are used but gender isn't mentioned, reader is a merfolk in Azul's part (cause you know- Ursula is a mermaid..), also they act similar to their ancestors.
Jamil, Vil, Riddle and Azul finding out that their partner is a descendant of one of the great sevens :
Tumblr media
Riddle Rosehearts
When Riddle first met you, he didn't think much of it. Sure you were quite commanding and respected the rules of his dorms very well (which he appreciated) but he just thought it was your personality and nothing more.
When he found you looking at the Queen of Heart's statue, he was surprised to see dissatisfaction on your face. You appeared a little bothered and as your partner he wished to make sure his s/o was alright.
"Is everything ok my Rose ? You seem a little out of your element."
"Ah Riddle, no I'm all good I'm simply thinking about certain things concerning my ancestor."
"Oh, and who are they ?"
"The one I'm looking at right now."
....
WhAt-
he wasn't expecting that, honestly, it feels like a bucket of ice got dropped on his head. Since she is seen in such a positive light in Night Raven College, he will start asking you about her.
"Oh she was a tyrannical queen, absolutely insane with no moral whatsoever. The only traditions we pass down in the family are the rules and leadership qualities, those are taught to the kids at a young age. I never admired her, not once. Sometimes rules didn't even need to be broken for her to cut someone's head off. If she was in front of me, breathing, at this exact moment I would give her a taste of her own medicine."
...
He didn't expect that, not once did he think of it that way. What was pictured to be a righteous royal turned out to be someone who beheaded people for a yes or a no.
It doesn't change what he thinks about you, you are your own person and what your ancestor did is unforgivable.
he's just stunned, and maybe a bit more proud of being your significant other.
Tumblr media
Vil Schoenheit
You and Vil are the star couple of NRC, people literally turn blind when they look at the both of you. Dazzled with glam and beauty I swear to god-
He's glad he doesn't have to constantly shout at you for being reckless and ruining your eyeshadow. Not like some people
You were the perfect visual depiction of a queen/king/royal, I imagine you two walking down the school hallway and a red carpet spawns out of nowhere for the both of you to walk on.
Aphrodite has favorites.
You take good care of your appearance, no matter the special/ so called 'unusual' features you carry, you still manage to appear even more wonderful than the Fairest Queen herself.
Rook stalks you follows you around a lot. He would gush at you everyday as you sat in front of the mirror and prepared yourself for the day.
He does this to Vil as well and y'all consider this normal at this point. If you don't, then get prepared to be spooked all the time. Like...all the time.
"My my [Nickname], you look especially splendid today ! Not like you aren't usually, but you managed to make your beauty shine even more than it already was !"
"Well I am the Fairest Queen's great-great-great-great granddaughter/son/child after all."
"..."
"Pardon me."
"Where did that come from ? Orchidia was that in the script-"
Rook will tell Vil immediately, it isn't like it will affect your relationship in any way, he just thinks its a very interesting fact about you.
He may or may not flatter himself with it, but even if you weren't, your beauty does shine without an ancestor to prove it.
Tumblr media
Jamil Viper
You are an amazing tactician, I mean, you were capable of coming up with a plan to stop kalim from burning down the dorm 10 days before it had the possibility of taking place.
And let's not ignore your persuasive abilities, you don't even need unique magic to have 200 students do what you want.
You and Jamil are one manipulative pair, but at least you have good morals. Kinda wishing you were there during the entirety of chapter 4 because it would have been over in one episode with no overblot happening at all.
Wether you scold him after finding out is your choice, but if it does happen don't be too harsh about it, his mind is little coo-coo at the moment.
So much that the only thing he catches you saying is :
"...And I don't want you turning into my great-great-great-great uncle simply because things didn't go your way. He was one manipulative and deceiving *sshole who I wish was never related to me at all. He was smart but for the wrong reasons, you are so much better than the sorcerer of sands Jamil ! I know it, and if anyone or anything is bothering you, I expect a full ranting session from your part-" "Wait you're related to the sorcerer of sands ?"
"...."
"Did you hear anything else about what I said ?"
"To be honest..."
"No."
Well that went well.
He is genuinely impressed and a little disappointed about the fact that the very man who represents his dorm is a huge traitor.
You're the one to talk- Lady Orchidia please calm down
He understands what you mean but his perception on Kalim won't change so if you're friends with the guy he stresses over everyday than you're gonna have to learn to live with it.
I repeat, it doesn't change your love for one another, except this time he'll be watching his back a little more. Knowing your advantage against him.
He's soft for you ngl

Who are you and why are you so cute together-
Octopus lovers. Oh my god this is too much.
Orchidia you still need to finish the fanfic Shut your mouth and let me die, I finally found my reason to sleep forever.
You will probably have to be a mermaid/man/folk due to your origins but your appearance is your choice cause I'm too lazy to give you one also I have no idea what you look like.
You are once again amazing at convincing people into obeying your orders and both loves and fears your skill.
You are also is source of confidence and pride, if you can be happy in your original fish form than so can he (you just gotta tell him that often.)
He'll find out during a normal conversation where the two of you are in his office as he's arranging the contracts and listening to you talk about your day.
"Oh and did you know my family is related to the sea witch ? I know it's crazy to believe but-" "YOU'RE RELATED TO THE BENEVOLENT SEA WITCH ?!" "Yes...?" *runs up to you and shoves contract in your face* "Please marry me."
He is very happy and very excited, acting like a fan who gets to meet his idol for the first time in person.
He thought highly of you before, now it's through the stars. get it ? cause he thought highly of you ? damnit I suck at jokes.
He's willing to hear you talk about your ancestor for hours and hours, she is his role model after all.
Finds himself very lucky to be with you, even prior to your declaration. You two are just adorable- SQUISHY OCTOPUS !

Reverse of the ask where TWST bois pick the reader up: Reader is surprisingly strong and scoops *them* up.
I think the bigger the dude, the funnier, but Riddle’s reaction would be hilarious to me as well.
Somewhere in the distance, Ashton Vargas just found his new favorite student…
OG Post! Something similar for the Jack fans!
Buff Girlfriend Casually Lifting Them
Featuring! - Riddle, Jack, Malleus, Sebek
CWs/ Fem! Reader, fluff, humor
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Riddle
“Unhand me at once!”
Riddle is shocked, appalled, and redder than a strawberry the second he feels you hook your hands under his knees and neck and pick him up like a bride. His hands immediately flail around and land around your shoulders, increasing his embarrassment tenfold.
His demands quiet down once the shock of the situation soaks in. His girlfriend is lifting him up and carrying him around like he weighs nothing. He has always been aware that you’re physically strong, but he didn’t know you were this strong!
Riddle usually won’t like being carried, but on the rare occasion, after a long day of school and his duties, he’ll ask for a piggyback ride back to his room. He’ll use a very standoffish tone while asking, but the way that he presses his head against the back of your shoulder lets you know he likes it.
Jack
He is so flabbergasted. Jack is in shock.
While he is aware that you’re into fitness—maybe the two of you even train together—he never knew you were this swole.
Jack is blushing; if you look close enough, his hands are shaking. He’s just realized he’s found the ideal woman for him—kind, gentle, who could break him in half like a pixie stick…
Bragging isn’t in his principles, but he might have to gloat a little bit with his track teammates when you’re literally running around with him thrown over your shoulder like a sack of potatoes. I mean, you’re not even exerting that much energy; he’s astounded!
Jack will (very quietly) ask for you to lift him again, just because he can’t believe it and he needs confirmation that he didn’t just make up the situation in his brain.
“Wanna join me for my morning run? It’ll be good cardio.”
Malleus
He’s getting the princess treatment. Very happy to know he’s your favorite lizard.
Since Malleus is very tall and imposing, he’s not used to such blatant displays of affection.
Having a physically stronger girlfriend would be a point of great pride for Malleus, particularly if you were a human, because then your strength would have been something you'd worked hard on. Something you’ve earned.
Being carried around is no problem for him; he may laugh a little at your strange human whimsy, but he happily agrees to being carried about at any time.
By any time, I mean any time. You could pick him up in the middle of a crowded campus hallway, and he’d just wrap his arms around you, place his head on your shoulder, and let you lead the way.
“Child of Man, be sure to drop me off at my alchemy class; perhaps I’ll let you pick me up and take me to Spelldrive Practice afterwords…”
Sebek
“How dare you, human!”
Sebek is appalled at the absolute gall you’ve got to have to do something so unabashedly romantic; don’t you see he’s too repressed for something so affectionate?
His face turns so red, and he tries to shake out of your ridiculously strong vice grip. Once he leaps off of you, get ready for an hour-long lecture. Sebek is shaking in his boots, explaining to you how inappropriate your actions were and how if you wanted his attention, there were better methods.
Midway through, he kind of realizes how hot it was that you were literally able to pick him up and carry him away like it was no problem, which makes Sebek quieter than you’ve ever seen him before, contemplating his words.
He quietly asks you to pick him up again because he wants to test your human endurance! (Ignore the way his eyes lock in on your defined shoulders, okay?)
