Synopsis: watching scary movies with them!!

Warnings: mentions of being scared (but in a like… comical way), and not proofread

Characters: Heartslabyul, Savanaclaw, and Octavinelle

Pronouns for reader: gender neutral/ not mentioned

A/n: hello hello!! This is a bigger project than I think id like to admit omg. I really really wanted to do something for halloween but ITS LITERALLY THE 29th WHILE WRITING THIS. So. I wanna do the other dorms, and I wanna do a genshin version with like two characters HEVEJRB. Anyways hope you enjoy!! And happy Halloween!!

Riddle —

“I don’t wanna watch this.” Riddle said, a pout, and scowl on his face, which… wow… made him look insanely grumpy in a childish way. You really couldn’t help but laugh at his expression, and because while he didn’t wanna watch this stupid movie, he kept stealing the popcorn bowl from your lap. “C’mon, it’ll be fun!” He knew you were right, but horror movies are so stupid. You stared the movie despite his grumpiness.

“Whys he being so stupid!!” Riddle yelled over the movie, his face a bright red. You were only thirty minutes into the movie, and he was already raging at the stupidity of the main characters. “Riddle, its a horror movie from the 90’s. Of course its stupid.” You laughed, for someone who didn’t wanna watch this, he really was getting into it.

— Trey —

Grabbing the flower, you raised your head to see trey leaning on the counter, and doing something on his laptop. “What’re ya doing?” You questioned, “oh, just putting on something festive.” Trey responded. Thats very very vague, I mean its halloween, many many things are festive around this time of year. And, if you’re impatient, it can even include holidays that should be, and stay in, December. But, as the opening of a movie started playing, you realized what he meant.

It was some, horror film that you obviously didn’t know the name of since… well… you’re a multiuniversal transfer student. You watched the movie nonetheless, as you and trey baked some coolies for a Halloween party Heartsabyule would be throwing in the upcoming days. You turned your direction away from the movie, to grab some eggs, when suddenly a jumpscare came up, and the loud noise scared you, even though you weren’t looking at the movie. You dropped the eggs all over the floor.

— Cater —

A long, drawn out, whine of your name could be heard from the couch. Though, when you looked over in that direction, all you saw was a blanket lump. That was, until caters head popped up near own of the arms of the couch. “What cater.” You flatly said, bringing over some of your favorite snacks, and placing them onto the coffee table. “What’s the movie we’re watching again?” Cater asked, moving over so you had an inch of space on the couch.

“I don’t know, I’m not exactly… from here, y’know.” Cater hummed at your response. And just played the movie, without really knowing what it is. The further you get into the movie, the more… gorey, and terrifying it becomes, you begin you clutch onto, and hide behind cater, throughout the movie. “Aww are you scared?” Cater asks coyly. “Shut up.”

You swear Ace’s scream could be heard from miles away, as he clung onto you, and hid under the blankets in his bed. “Ace! Don’t scream in my ear.” You said, to which he let out a small apology, but clung onto you even tighter. “How aren’t you scared right now…” he mumbled, grumpily, “maybe its just cause this movie isn’t scary.” Your flat response pissed him off.

“What do you mean!! This is the scariest movie I’ve ever seen!” He shouted, to which you shushed him, “if this is the scariest movie, thats pathetic.” You might I’ve spoke too soon, as a really suspenseful part came ip next, you clutched onto ace’s hand. “Not scared huh?” He just loves rubbing it in your face when you’re wrong… “shut up.”

— deuce —

A loud distorted scream was heard from the tv, and deuce stiffened as you climbed into him. He wasn’t even scared by the movie really, he was so nervous about you being curled up into his side. “Sorry, am I being too clingy?” You asked, since you could tell he was tense.”

“NO ITS COMPLETELY FINE!” He nervously whisper shouted, not wanting to startle you, or talk over the movie. You giggled a but, being put at ease by his scared flustered demeanor. “If you wanna stop watching we can.” You’re just teasing him at this point, “no no!! I wanna keep watching its okay!!” You lean further into him, and look up at him, “really? You seem a little scared?” You say sweetly, making his face flush a deep red. Man he’s not gonna make it through this movie without covering his flushed, red face, is he?

— Savanaclaw —

— Leona —

“What’re you watching?” Leona says, his tail snaking around you, as he slowly wakes up. He must’ve fallen asleep during movie night… again. “Oh well good morning sleepy head. I’m just watching some horror movie that was on Tv.” Leona hummed in response. It seemed brining to him… maybe he should take another nap. That was until there was a jumpscare, and you clinged onto his arm a bit.

Oh? Maybe its not boring. Leona chuckled, “what? are you scared?” His teasing voice, raspy from sleep, echoed over the movie. “What! Nooo…” you tried so hard to play it cool… “really? Why’re you clinging to me then?” He was met with silence. Funnily enough though, his tail stayed wrapped around your waist for the rest of the movie.

— ruggie —

“Oh mannn I remember watching this as a kid!” Ruggie exclaimed, searching through a box of stuff he brought with him to NRC. He forgot it was there, under his bed, until now of course, so you thought ‘why not search through it?’. Genius idea [name]. “What’s it about?” You say, resting your head on his shoulder, and glancing at the dvd. “Well, its a horror movie, about a bunch of kids who go missing, but actually are captured by this insane murder and have to make it out of where they’re kept.” He souled so excited talking about a movie that either is absolutely horrifying, or just really really stupid, and is like 90% other horror movies.

“And you watched this as a kid?” You asked, “well I mean yeah! Its not that scary.” Suddenly ruggie got an idea, “here we should watch it!!” You seemed hesitant though, not really sure about this horror movie. Ruggie picked up on this, ever observant, “if it gets too scary I’ll protect you” he said with his signature laugh. You playfully hit his shoulder, “i wont get scared! Im sure it’s not that bad.” Your confidence now failing you, as you hid in ruggie’s chest.

Okay real talk, I don’t think he’d watch a horror movie. I think he doesn’t really watch movies or tv that much, he’s just not all that into it, instead I think he’d take you to a haunted house, or haunted hayride, or something, and walk out with his tail between his legs JEGJEHRID

You were having a special at the mostro lounge that night, by a drink, a see a movie!! A huge projector would play a horror movie, for one night only!! However azul, despite coming up with the idea, didn’t seem too happy about it. Cringing at every jumpscare there was, and even squeezing your hand sometimes as he’d make drinks. You on the other hand, were ecstatic, you were enjoying yourself so much, and you gig a free drink cause you’re the owners s/o.

But, looking at azul you could obviously tell he wasn’t feeling the same, “you okay azul?” Concern laced in your voice. He shook his head no, and you knew it was time to take him aside. Getting him to the vip lounge you rubbed his arms, and asked what’s wrong. “I just don’t like horror movies that much.” He said, embarrassed. You hummed, wondering what to do, “how about this, I’ll take over the rest of your shift, and then afterwards we’ll watch a non-horror Halloween movie hm?” Azul smiled at that, and nodded. And later you snuggled and just watcher an easy going Halloween movie cause it’d be adorable <3

Jade recommended this movie. Cause of course he did. It is by far, the scariest, most gruesome, terrifying movie you’ve ever seen. And jade is just sitting there, teasing you for being scared. You are practically in his lap, shaking, and hiding in his chest when theres scary parts that you cant handle. Sometimes he’ll go stiff, and you think it’s cause he gets scared but you cant tell. This could all be a ploy to make you cling to him, and you… wait a minute.

“Jade?” You say, looking up at him, “yes dear?” He still doesn’t look away from the movie. “Was this a massive scheme to get me to just cling to you.” That grabs his attention. “My my, how bold, accusing me of scheming.” He teases, his sharp grin on display. “Well am I wrong?” He seems to think for a moment, before answering, “no. You’re not, how clever I honestly didn’t think you’d figure it out.” You can feel his heartbeat quicken from your head leaning on his chest. He’ll have to think outside the box if he wants to truly fool you from now on.

— Floyd —

You hear a whine from above you, “shrimpy that was so scaryyy” Floyd says, his head resting on top of your own while he has you both wrapped in a blanket. “Eh not really, I think it was only moderately scary.” Your fake confidence not fooling Floyd however, “what do ya mean? You were shaking and clingy the whole time!” You gasp at his bold accusation, “no! Maybe you were so clingy you thought I was being clingy!!”

You go back and forth for a while until you hear the floorboards creaking. Which, isn’t unusual for ramshackle, but when theres no one in the dorm but you? Mmm… you start to worry. “What was that.” Floyd says, hugging you tightly. “Maybe just… Grim?” You say, trying to fool Floyd as grim is with ace and deuce right now. But when the lights go out? No fooling anyone, and you both scream. (In the end, it was just one of the ghosts fooling around.)

Hello you mustn't worry about flooding my ask box because you'r the only who has requested some writing from me. I'll do my very best to write your request, i truly hope you enjoy what i've written. Its not the best since i didn’t know what to write for some of them.And i’m teribly sorry that this request is long due i’ve been having writers block.

Riddle Rosehearts

✧˚ · . Red, Riddles face even redder than his hair. At first you thought that he was mad at you but he was just flustered. You two decided to have a private tea party in the middle of the rose maze. Riddle asked trey to bake your favorite sweets! And if your not super into sweets trey made some other foods fit for your taste. Everything was prepared just for you though some parts of the tea party were against the Rules Riddle did his best not the change anything since it was how you liked it.

✧˚ · .When you two finished eating the food trey prepared Riddle handed you something “My Dearest Rose, since today is a special day your birthday i made sure that everything is perfect even my gift. I do wish you will enjoy what i have bought for you” After Riddle said that you opened the elegantly wrapt red and black box inside held a Stunning Rose Ring. “Riddle.. Its beautiful thank you so much”

“ Im glad you liked it i do wish you wear it someday My rose.This ring shows how much i love you.” By the end of the day Riddle dropped you off at Ramshakel And pulled you into a kiss and bid you a goodnight. When you closed the door you were a blushing and smiling mess.After that day you swore to yourself you’d always wear and keep the ring safe.

Cater Diamond

✧˚ · .When cater heard what you said he was over the moon! “Aww our Y/nie wants to spend their birthday with me!! Don’t worry Y/n i’ll make sure you’// enjoy our little date 😉” You two decided to café hop everything you two bought will be payed by Cater so don’t you worry about losing money! Cater kept on taking pictures of you and the food. He couldn't help it you just looked so pretty. When you offered to feed Cater some of your Sandwich he made sure to take pics of it.

✧˚ ·After you guys left the Café it was around sunset. Cater lead you to a park when you got to the park the tree’s were filled with lights and there was a fountain in the middle it looked so magical! Cater brought you near the fountain and handed you a orange paper bag. “Happy birthday Y/n i hope you like the gift!!” When you removed the wrapping paper that was on top of the bag it showed a painting of you and cater “Riddle nagged me to do some painting to get off my phone so. I made this for you!” “Hope you like it” “Cater i don’t like it..... I love it!! thank you!!!” “nice to hear Y/niee, i have one more gift too” After Cater said that he pulled you into a long kiss. Cater dropped you back to your dorm and gave u another peck on the lips.

✧˚ · When you got changed into something more comfortable your phone had lot of notifications from Magicam. You were tagged in a post with a lot of pictures from today even a pic of you and cater kissings!! but you remembered Cater didn’t take any pictures when you two got in to the park. Little did you know Cater used his unique magic and made the other caters hide behind bush's and climbed tree’s just to get pictures.Oh and the picture cater gifted you is safely placed on top of your nightstand.

Trey Clover

✧˚ · .Trey was quite shocked when you said you wanted to go on a date with him for your birthday.But he was also touched that you wanted to spend time with him. You decided to take a cooking class. Since trey is mostly good at baking you thought why not also enhance his cooking skills. The two of you arrived at the cooking class located in a restaurant near the plaza of the town. " Welcome, Welcome!!" said the hostess in the front " Are you two love birds here for the cooking class?" both you and trey blushed when the hostess addressed you two as "love birds" "a-ah.. yes we're here for the cooking class.. but we arnt a couple yet.. haha" said trey. "Ah my apologies i thought u two were with how cute you both look together.But moving on please enter this room, this is where the cooking class will be held." said the hostess with a smile.

✧˚ · You can trey entered the room which held a kitchen in. You both go seated and the class begun. "Hello everybody i am chef Andre, for today we will be learning how to makespaghetti and meatballs from scratch." The chef explained and demonstrated how to make the noodles and sauce and now he let you and the other attendee's start making on your own. Trey started off by making the pasta and kneading flour and eggs. "This is just like making dough in baking" said trey. You couldnt help yourself from staring at Trey. He has his sleeves rolled up exposing his forearm. Trey was well built himself. As you stared at him u didnt see that he threw a bit of flour at you "finally i have your attention again" he said chuckling "a-ah sorry about that.." u said

✧˚ · "Dont worry about it im just about done with the pasta and the sauce is done too" TIME SKIP You and trey finally finished cooking and was now cleaning off the flour he threw you. "sorry about that" trey said as he held your chin cleaning off the flour from your face

as he smirked. "Its fine" you said blushing. The pasta you both made was being packaged for you two to take back home. You both left the restaurant and walked back to the dorm. When u made it back to your dorm trey was walking with you towards the front door before he suddenly stopped "Ah wait before i forget here my gift for you y/n" he said smiling. He gave you a green colored big box. As you opened it held your favorite dessert. "I made it myself. It took me multiple tries to get it perfect just for you...Ah one more thing..." he took out a pair of van cleef black clover earrings . "I hope you like them" he said looking at you. "Trey... i love them thank you!!" u then went closer to try and kissed him. "Thank you for making today even more special" you said smiling ear to ear. "Its my pleasure y/n. Now go head inside i'll see you again tomorrow" he then winked. "Ah and dont forge to brush your teeth after eating the dessert" He gave u a kiss on your cheek then waved goodbye.

Notes: this is kind of open ended. I have to write in stealth mode now so it would take a while for something more. You guys eat Mexican food in this because Mexican food is the closest thing to heaven on Earth.

Someone's been stealing your cologne. On another note, your best friend is starting to smell like you.

Someone's been stealing your cologne.

It wasn't really noticeable at first, but after throwing away your second bottle in three months, you began to get suspicious.

The colonge you wore was strong, so it wasn't like you had to spray it a whole bunch of times to get it to stick. Just in the morning when you woke up and after PE.

You knew you weren't doing it any more than that, so where the hell did it all go?

You sighed. You were too tired for this. Morning classes had been currently kicking your ass. Well, they had always been kicking your ass, but it's been worse these past few days.

Grim was being a little shit. That bit hadn't changed, although according to Ace, Grim actually actually acts worse whenever you step out of the room. So Grim was somewhat saving you from annoyance at 8am and a headache. Small mercies.

Oh yeah.

Speaking of Ace. He'd been acting weird lately.

it wasn't strange for Ace, or any of the first years really, to spend the night at Ramshackle. Showing up in your dorm and staying there like a particularly determined cockroach seemed to be your dumbass friends first reaction to any real minor inconvenience.

Want to get away from your overbearing house warden for the night? Ramshackle.

Need a quiet place to study? Ramshackle.

You just spent one whole day without seeing your precious young master and need to stake out the one place he goes to get away from you? Ramshackle.

All in all, you were pretty used to waking up from one of your weird ass dreams about that one time you and your friend ate an entire Little Cesear's pizza in a church parking lot at the crackhead hours of the night, only to sit up and find someone duct taped to your wall, perfectly pasted out. While the perpetrators were peacefully sleeping on the floor under them. Curled up with one of the spare blankets that you keep laid out for this exact reason.

Or they're, you know, under your bed.

(Seriously Epel what the fuck)

So Ace being there? not suprising.

Ace being there alone, without at least Deuce there to babysit his ginger ass? Weird, but bound to happen sooner or later.

But Ace being there almost every day? Even after Riddle himself came knocking on your door once to drag him back to Heartslabyul? Yeah. No sorry, something was up.

Your mind races as it tried to come up with possibility after possibility, only to wind up with answers that didn't hold much substance to them, and could easily be disproved.

Riddle was being more overbearing lately?

Nah, if he was then deuce would've mentioned it. Also, you can't remember Ace showing up on your doorstep wearing an iconic heart-shaped collar recently. So that was a no.

Ace finally got fed up with all the weird noises Deuce makes in his sleep?

Possibly. But Deuce had spent the night over at Ramshackle just last week, and Ace made no obvious signs that he was having trouble sleeping right through the absolute wild shit Deuce was saying while unconscious.

He just slept better over here?

Your eyes immediately darted towards Grim and the ghosts.

Yeah, that idea was out.

So, with a little too much resolve, you took a deep breath and buried your face in your gloved hands as you sighed.

You could feel yourself sink down into the couch that took you what felt like forever to build. Oh yeah, and overpriced fabric you bought at the school store. Can't forget about that.

The fire crackled and Grim stopped his argument with the ghosts to look at you as you ran your fingers through your hair. Whoops.

You looked over at them with a face that you just knew showed exactly how tired you were with this.

Don't get the wrong idea here. Ace was certainly a handful but he wasn't really exhausting, he was quite the pleasure to be around actually.

When he wanted to be that was.

You don't know why you started thinking so hard about this. Maybe because exams were coming up and you needed a distraction.

Or maybe it was because he was being rather sweet on you lately. Well, as sweet as Ace could get.

You sighed again, and flopped your head against the back of the chair.

You should probably go to sleep.

Listen. Ace didn’t mean for any of this to happen. It just did and he doesn't know why.

He thinks it started when he woke up at Ramshackle after he stayed over dor the weekend and realized he forgot to bring his uniform shirt.

No big deal really. He could just grab one of your and return it the next day.

He thought.

Seriously, you didn't even notice! He'd probably have it returned by tomorrow morning!

He thought.

He thought until the compliments started rolling in.

The first one came from Cater, when he leaned in and asked if there was a new trend going around with sandlewood.

He was confused to day the least.

Then came Epel. Who asked to borrow whatever scent he was wearing to cover the flowery perfume he was wearing while still staying on Vils good side, since he would still smell nice.

Ace was getting a little creeped out at this point.

Then Jack of all people came up to him, sniffed the air like the dog he was, and nodded approvingly before walking away.

Ok. What the hell is going on?

He knew damn well he didn't wear sandalwood. And although the compliments were nice, save for the occasional passive aggressive ones from some upperclassmen with a stick up their ass, he still didn't know what to do with them.

So he did the only thing he could think of, and went to a mostly private area and started smelling his clothes like a weirdo.

Waistcoat, blazer, tie, they were all fine.

His shirt however, was what made him pause.

Oh yeah. This wasn't his.

...

If he stayed there for a minute longer with his friends shirt up against his nose like some sort of serial killer, then that was between him and the seven.

No one else needed to know.

True to his silent promise, he put in the request to riddle to saty another night at Ramshackle and all but ran over there.

He needed to return this ASAP.

But when he actually gets to your little run down dorm, he immediately stumbles on what to do. He didn't bring another shirt with him, so he would be taking your clothes either way.

Ace briefly considers turning back.

Ace then remembers its almost curfew and he'd have to face the wrath of one riddle rosehearts if he actually went back to the dorm.

Deuce can cover for him.

He better cover for him or ace was gonna snitch on him for eating an entire tart after he smoked weed with that epel kid.

Oh look, more blackmail! Nice.

And so, mind officially made up, he walked (strutted) up to the front door and knocked on it three times.

Inside, he could he the who knows how old staircase creak as you rushed down, and he could smell the savory scent of those weird sandwich things that you liked cooking.

("Perfect, what the hell is that?")

"..."

"You don't know what a taco is?")

Ace could feel himself smile.

Yeah, he made the right choice coming here.

The door swung open and that belief solidified.

That food smelled glorious.

Ace swears, whoever invented those taco sandwich thing is a damn genius.

And you looked ok he guessed.

You were still in your school pants, always eing a little too lazy to switch those out for regular ones when the last bell rang, but you did replace your shirt and blazer with a soft, expensive looking sweater that probably came from Crewel.

Crewel had taken pity on you in the first week of school and agreed to tutor you after class. And then you ended up teaching him about one of your friends dogs, whose specific breed didn't exist here.

From that point on, it was pretty clear that everyone's number one nightmare teacher had a favorite. Although you swore up and down you never got any special treatment.

Ace looked at the sweater again.

Yeah. Ok yuu. Ok.

You gave a little lazy smile and waved him in, not bothering to make sure he followed as you made your way towards the kitchens.

Judging from the lack of noise in there, Grim not included, you were alone tonight, which Ace could only sigh in relief about.

Sometimes, at least once a week, he would see Jade and Ruggie either walking around the dorm one second and then somehow seeing him in the kitchen the next (Jade), or rummaging through your spice drawer as you pretended not to notice the few extra jars of chili powder that mysteriously went missing afterwards (Ruggie).

He never knew why you never stopped him. You had less money than he did for sevens sake!

Ace never dared to ask these questions to you out loud though, just accepted that you were disgustingly nice and moved on with his day.

Now, he was grateful that you were so disgustingly nice, because this food was amazing.

There were plates and bowls in the middle of the table, all filled with some type of food.

A big plate of tacos that were stuffed to the brim with different kinds of meats and vegetables and cheese.

A bowl of tomato rice, which ace watched grim barely hold back from lunging at.

A bowl of mashed beans with melted cheese on top, which ace didn't touch, he was sure they were good! But he just didn't eat them that night.

And all kinds of other foods that he didn't try to pronounce. It was in some language that the schools translation spell didn't work on.

Aces plate was loaded, and you sat right across from him, Grim eating on the other side of the table. The room was warm. Everything smelled nice. He could see the garden you and Jack were attempting to grow just outside the window that was once broken in.

It all felt so...nice.

He think this is where it started.

Because you never did get that shirt back.

Ace knows what's going on. It took him a minute to come to terms with the fact that you were a boy, the fact he liked boys, but he knew what was going on.

He'd had a girlfriend once, he knew what he was feeling.

And he didn't know what to do with it.

Ace didn't want romance right now. He wanted to run wild, as wild as he could with Riddle around every corner. He wanted to pull pranks, he wanted to puss off deuce, he wanted to learn how to use his magic, and he wanted to make friends.

He wanted you to be friends. You don't even have a guaranteed time left here. So why, why was he catching feelings?

...it fine. It's all fine. He can shove this down and ignore it.

He tells himself he'll just ignore it.

Ignore it while he sleeps just beside your bed.

Ignore it while you (even rarely) get to have dinner alone.

Ignore it while he steals a sweater or two, sweaters you didn't get from Crewel.

Ignore it while he riffles in your drawers looking for that bottle of cologne that got him so many compliments, the cologne that you also wore.

...Ace sighed.

He really sucked at lying to himself like this.

"I just don't know where it's going. I don't use that much, do I?", you weren't really desperate for an answer, you were just getting confused.

You only used that cologne on your wristes and your neck, with a occasional sprits one a shirt if you were trying to make an impression, which, you never really were.

So where the hell was it all going?

Vil just pursed his lips and leaned back from where he sat across from you. Sighing like he always did when he didn't have an answer but could just feel it on the tip of his tongue.

"I don't know what to tell you, I'd be happy to lend you some of mine, for a few favors, of don't look at me like that, just look after epel for a few hours while I'm not there and we're good"

At first Lilia is someone who is going to treat you like a cute junior, but that changes as you get to know each other better. With time he’ll learn how grown up you are as well as some life changes for himself. The more you open up and just live how you act, the more Lilia will come to realize something new in life. Riddle

A pair of crimson eyes tend to linger on your every step , whenever you stroll by the Heartsabyul dorm. The careful, watchful eyes of your schoolmate, Riddle Rosehearts. He is no stranger to the antics you pull, no matter if they were intended or not.

Riddle finds his reaction time improving by leaps and bounds whenever he hears your surprise. Immediately rushing to your side, ready to extract you out of whatever trouble you saw fit to land yourself in this time.

Both of his hands have long mastered the art of sliding around your waist, yanking in one smooth, fluid motion. Sometimes, the momentum gets the better of both of you, and you end up tumbling straight into his arms.

Clutching onto his shoulders, you hold him tight. Standing there in each other’s embrace, you two strike the perfect image of star-crossed lovers.

Riddle can’t help the way his lips slip upwards. A smile as sweet as ruby-red strawberry tarts. Honestly, prefect. You do enjoy having him on the edge, don’t you?

He still fusses quite a bit, though. Don’t expect to escape without a lecture. However, for all the words that fall from his lips, yours seem to have the most impact.

Odd, queer questions that would have never crossed his mind. You seem to have a knack for thinking of things people wouldn’t normally. Sometimes, he finds himself up at night pondering your queries.

Always full of surprises, aren’t you, darling?

“Hey, Riddle. Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up, like, every two hours?”

“I… honestly can’t say. Perhaps it would be the peacefulness and tranquility they sleep with… no matter how brief.”

Ace

You’ll soon grow used to a weight pressing onto your shoulders. Slinging an arm around you, Ace tends to lean into you quite a bit. He tags along wherever you go, that insufferable smirk never far from his lips.

Of course, it drops as quickly as it appears whenever he has to run to wherever you’ve wandered off this time. Ace has heard of air-minded people, but this is the first time he had to deal with one. There ain’t nothing but fluff and feathers up there, huh?

For all his teasing, Ace always is there to yank you out of whatever trouble you’ve stirred up. His arm stretching out, wrapping tightly around your torso. You could feel every pulse beating through his skin as Ace pulls you close. Out of harm’s reach.

Man, have you never heard? Curiosity killed the cat. You’re so lucky he was around to help you out. So how about a kiss, for all that effort?

Speaking of effort, you’ve made Ace burn more brainpower then the entire Night Raven curriculum has in an entire year. You had a weird fondness for weird questions that keep him tossing and turning in his sleep. Do you enjoy causing him sleepless nights?

There’s really no need for the questions, then.

He’s already thinking about you all the time.

“If money doesn't grow on trees, why do banks have branches?”

“You have no idea how bad I want to kiss you right now.”

Deuce

For most of his misguided youth, Deuce was always the one charging forth, headstrong. Never stopping to think about the consequences. He would have called it courage, back then.

Now watching you leap mindlessly into mess after mess, he’s changed his mind. Deuce trails after you like a lost puppy, following your every step. His curiosity often aligns with yours, although Deuce has to admire your… bravery for just going straight in. Whenever someone catches your interest, off you go! Without a care in the world.

Sometimes, that curiosity takes you too far. Then, Deuce springs into action. Honestly, he should start timing his sprinting towards you. Deuce swears he never runs this fast on the track.

He isn’t one for niceties whenever you’re under the slightest hint of danger. Arms stretched out, he’s tackling you straight out of the hit-zone. Mid-air, Deuce’s arms snake around your torso, clutching you in an tight embrace. His own back, your shield keeping you from all harm.

Both of you end up on the floor, a panting Deuce above of you. His hands pat your face frantically, words coming out in broken, jerky stammers. You have to assure him that you’re alright before his shoulders even think about starting to relax.

He’s just happy you’re ok.

Well, Deuce would be a bit lonely at night if you got hurt. He tends to call you from his dorm for homework help, although the conversations tend to drift elsewhere most of the time. Specifically, your odd questions.

Deuce’s drawing out entire diagrams, and both of you spend hours over the phone, discussing various fantastic theories. Each one more weirder then the last.

Deuce never thought he’ll have so much fun just talking.
