Summary: you’re both guardian angels, and Leona makes a rather absurd promise to you.

CW: mentions of death, typical demon/angel AU themes but it’s mostly soft/fluff!

For as long as Leona lived, his feathers have always been a snowy, royal white. Despite how slothful he may seem to others, his capabilities while on-the-job were nothing to scoff at - which is perhaps how your admiration for him started to grow.

As a younger (in comparison) angel to him, your nature was still touched by the delicacy of a soul who looked at the world with stars in your eyes. Sure, you were aware of the darkness that dwelled in the shadows, but you were bright by nature, so to speak; you chose to believe that life was something full of lightness and excitement, which drove you on to handle your work as a guardian angel with a dedication people wished Leona wielded a bit more stubbornly.

Well, not that you doubted Leona's care towards his work. You witnessed it once, when your assignment was in the same area as him, and your paths crossed under the sunlight of a quiet afternoon.

He was guarding a child, and you were sending the whispers of a last wish from a bedridden elder to their family, to bless them with one last feeling of warmth. Your eyes had met, and Leona raised a finger to his lips as he stood a bit aways from the youth playing at the park.

You weren't sure what exactly he wanted to say, but you gathered that it had to do with savoring the quiet, seamless joy of that moment. You nodded, changing your path to fly in an arc away from them.

Death wasn't always a tragic ending, but avoiding placing that shadow on an innocent view of the world could hardly be a bad thing either.

Children were quite sensitive to beings like you, who would normally be invisible to the mortal eye. But when off-duty, you were just like regular people; relaxing under the shade of a grove of trees, enjoying the company of another.

Said other was taking a bite out of an apple, which you assumed was from the towering halls where most guardian angels lived. Noticing your gaze, Leona glanced to the satchel at his side, before fishing out another to toss in your direction.

Leona watched the way your wings shifted as you raised yourself to catch it, a quirk to his lips while he took another bite. You mirrored his action, glancing at the way his canines could be seen for a slight second. Some of your peers mentioned how intimidating Leona could be if he bared his fangs at you, yet it was hard to imagine him being needlessly aggressive. He’s tolerated you after all, one who’s been trailing after him as a mentor figure (amongst other excuses) like an enamored dove. While Leona was abrasive at first, he eventually succumbed to your unexplainable stubbornness (which he has yet to solve).

You weren’t chatting off his ear or anything, though: on days where you saw that he wasn’t busy, you’d go up to Leona to ask for advice regarding work, or to listen to stories of his past assignments. If he seemed to be in a bad mood, you’d simply wave and smile if your eyes met. Eventually you got to a point where Ruggie and Jack assumed you were at least familiar acquaintances, and asked you to help pass on items or messages between them - granting you access onto the path you were now on to gradually grow closer with him.

“...Well, it’s normal enough to want to help your assignments the more you learn about them. Empathy isn’t a bad thing.” Leona considered, looking out towards the field that neighboured the grove. You were sitting at the edge of it, which granted a rather picturesque view. “But be careful not to get too attached. We’ll have to leave them eventually, since it’s part of our duties.”

You knew what he was hinting at; the fallen angels who gave up themselves to cling to a particular human, or shed their feathers for a demon’s wings to stay by a mortal’s side. People that did that weren’t necessarily evil, but relationships like that only end in more complications if the demon tried to grant their human immortality or other gifts that toed the line of danger.

“You can’t control the heart, though.” You smiled. It’s not a threat or teasing comment, but rather a statement hinted with the nostalgia of a lesson you once witnessed. “So while I’d like to give you some peace of mind, I can’t really say that I’ll never find that connection with a mortal.”

It’s considered a bit of a taboo to say things like that out loud, but Leona surprised you with a vaguely-agreeing shrug. He leaned towards you, discarding the apple in his hand to support his weight as he crept close enough that you could see the clear vibrance of his eyes. A smirk decorated Leona’s handsome features, making your heart skip a beat.

He’s always known you were bold, but hearing those words were kind of amusing. “Then I guess I’ll need to capture your heart before that happens, so that your wings will remain safe.”

“L-Leona?!” You flinched away, but was unable to will your body to retreat any further.

“Aren’t I generous? To help protect your dreams, which you’ve talked my ear off about,” Leona held your chin, tilting your head up to properly meet his eyes. He doesn’t mention how the day you truly expressed your true hopes, it was accompanied by thunder and the echo of tears. “I would be selfless enough to expose my own feelings to you.”

It takes an open, vulnerable heart to truly capture the sympathies of an angel. To make one fall in love would require that sentiment tenfold.

Ah, just what was that feeling inside your stomach? It’s as if butterflies were fluttering around.

CUDDLES

Featuring: Dorm leaders

Plot: The way how different twst characters sleep with and without you and their sleeping habits.

Cw: fluff, spooning(Riddle and Vil), snoring (Leona and Azul), mentions of boobs (Kalim), drool (idia)

Note: You can obviously tell who my favorite is.

RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS:

Before you:

He sleeps like a old man. Like, fingers crossed over his stomach, or he sleeps like a corpse. He is very silent when he is sleeping only letting out very soft breaths.

With you:

Riddle is either sleeping fetal position into your arms or being spooned. I feel like after having an extremely long day, all he wants to do is be held.

Without you:

He has zero clue what to do with his hands. So all he does is take one of his pillows and cuddles with that. Sometimes he gets mad just as he is about to fall asleep and just chucks the pillow across the room.

LEONA KINGSCHOLAR:

Before you:

He snores like a dad. Like, you know you sometimes when your dad is busy snoring and then he chokes on his own saliva mid snore... yea... thats Leona. Also he sleeps like a hot mess. Half of his body is off the bed and the other is barely hanging on.

With you:

Living blanket. Like, he just lays his entire body weight on top of you like a blanket. At first it felt like attempted murder, but after a while you got used to it and now you can't fall asleep without weight on top of you.

Without you:

He twists his blankets into a long noodle so that it (kinda) feels like he's cuddling you. Also, his tail is swishing the same way an angry cat does the entire time he is sleeping.

AZUL ASHENGROTTO:

Before you:

Completely normal. Maybe a hand under the pillow(?) Snores. The tweels used to make fun of him for that when they were kids but got used to it eventually.

With you:

Koala mode: activated. His legs are twisted through your legs and arms attached to your torso like superglue. He nuzzles his face in the crook of your neck and sometimes even leaves little kisses there.

Without you:

He refuses to sleep without you. Period. He got so used to sleep with you in his arms that it has become a condition for him to sleep. He will either stay in his office, busy with paperwork, studying for an upcoming test or reading a book you recommended him in his bed.

KALIM AL-ASIM:

Before you:

I headcannon that he sleeps fetal position. But like, on his stomach. His face is smashed into the pillow, which causes bedhead and he becomes scarily still (Jamil sometimes comes in and checks if he's still alive.)

With you:

He does not give a shit if you have tiddies or not, he is shoving his face into your chest like it's no-one's business. You have never slept so damn good until the day you started sleeping with Kalim in his fucking king sized bed made from swan feathers or something close to it.

Without you:

Tosses and turns, ruining the sheets and making it dirty. He usually gets up and starts pacing the room, trying to tire himself out, but failing miserably. Kind of just lays there.

VIL SCHOENHEIT:

Before you:

Looks like a fucking angel. His hair perfectly frames his head and he just looks so damn peaceful. I bet he listens to nature sounds whenever he can't sleep since him losing sleep is a big no-no.

With you:

He likes to spoon. He only big spoons, if not, then he's pushing you (affectionately♡) off the bed. He has gotten accustomed to your light snoring, kind of using it like a non-verbal lullaby.

Without you:

Can sleep, but not as nicely as when you do. Kind of turns a bit, but he does fall asleep normally. Gets a sad gut feeling whenever he wakes up without you next to him.

IDIA SHROUD:

Before you:

Probably never sleep willingly. He probably would just pass out from exhaustion ever once-in-awhile. But when he does sleep, he drools like a fucking dog. Like, entire pillow case damp from his drool. He has gained mild control over this, but is still considered a problem.

With you:

He wants to cuddle like how anime couples do. He specifically likes it when you sleep on his chest, your weight feeling the same as when a cat lays on him. He also gained a condition in order to fall asleep. He must stroke your hair gently while you mutter in your half-asleep state on how much you love and adore him.

Without you:

After he started dating you, he finally decided to get a better sleep schedule so he could spend more time with you, rather than being passed out, looking half dead. So he got a plain body pillow (He didn't get a cover as he thought it would be a betrayal of your trust) He cuddles the body pillow the same way he does to you.

MALLEUS DRACONIA:

Before you:

He slept the same way as Riddle, like a corpse. He is completely silent and does not move at all in his sleep.

With you:

He became absolutely addicted to cuddling once you introduced it to him. He would shove you into his chest, kind of like the two of you were hugging, but he has an absolute death grip on you.

Without you:

The skies have a green hue to them as lightning cracks. He is pissed at who or what made you not want or have the time to sleep with him. He would sneak out of his dorm and (break in) sneak into your dorm. He would then climb into bed with you and then instantly fall asleep.

—Riddle was pining bad for you, and it was no secret to anyone except you. Who he did all he could to make you remain oblivious. Though if you knew that the fluffy little creature you found following you around was him? then it would be clear as day.

—Riddle had the power to turn into a cat, and well… what did he use it for? to follow you, and be by your side. The first time you coddled him, oh he was so embarrassed, swatting at you with his chipped claws and meowing. But after a couple times of you insistently holding him, then… he got comfortable. (Look at what you’ve done, now he expects it!)

—These catty behaviours and dynamic now transfers over to your active relationship (the one you know about.) If you don’t praise him for things he tries to impress then he gets all pouty haha.

“hey Riddle, you should come by one day to meet my cat, he’s a smart one.”

“hah,,, im actually allergic.” ^^’’’’

LEONA KINGSCHOLAR

—that lazy cat you took in? yeah thats leona. He’s not much of a pining person, but nonetheless he still wants your attention. He’s pretty obvious of his affections, you even know about his habit of turning into a cat! (he’s done it right in front of you?!) so the relationship is pretty much established.

—though regardless as a cat or not when he’s in his human form he still craves your body heat, moving to position his head on your lap, like as he lays when in cat form.

—he’s a spoiled prince, if you move him at all out of his previous spot then he’s petty about it. he’s not going to sit back over near you until he forgives you.

“You’re so much cuter in your cat form when you do this.”

“well too bad, i don’t feel like moving.”

AZUL ASHENGROTTO

—he’s such a fucking mess around you its kinda cute. he trips over his words (and sometimes his feet), he bluescreens when you so much as praise him. He tries so hard to keep up his business persona, and it seems everyone but you, can see through it and notice the puddle he is.

—azul is much more… alive when he’s in his cat form. he’s always been kind of insecure of it, but its like a shell for him to hide him. he can be himself freely since you know, he’s a cat. So the cute silver coated cat that follows you? and swats at your feet when he wants your attention or praise? yeah thats azul

—Azul is far more whiny in his cat form lmao, though,,, he can be himself and he knows you’ll love him. he’s cute right? (he doesn’t know you’ll love him unconditionally in both forms) he uses it as a way to interact with you, and not worry about messing up or making a fool of himself. he simply soaks up your attention.

“Azul, do you perhaps have any cat food in stock?”

“no. i don’t, why?”

“Well theres this cute cat that stops by and i want to ensure he eats properly.”

JAMIL VIPER

—jamil loves his cat form. its a freedom from the chains of duty he’s bound by. freedom to wander and travel the streets without having to worry for someone to ask him something or bother him. Its a way for him to love you without having to worry about rejection.

—everyones aware cats are cute, right? well he’s aware and he uses it. he uses his cute little fur coat to get away with stuff, and he uses it too get your attention. When your talking to someone? oh it seems as if your brown cat over here is picking at your shoe because he wants you to pick him up!

—jamil definitely is able to separate his cat form and human one. but sometimes, he wishes to let these habits slip and for you to love him to his face. nonetheless, he’d much rather you not hate him because he kept secrets for too long.

“Jamil, you remind me a lot of this cat that stops by often.”

“Do I now? is it cute?”

VIL SCHOENHEIT

—he doesn’t use his cat form a lot. if he has a problem or something he wants (you) he’s gonna confront it as himself. that doesn’t mean, that if you ask to see it he wouldn’t show you…

—vil, despite thinking otherwise does have catty habits that poke through. For example, he’ll straight up SCRATCH you with his long ass nails if you rub him the wrong way.

—he does actually get pretty flustered despite what you may think, if you coddle him in his cat form when he does transform. he’ll huff and flick you away, jumping off your lap and hiding on the window or something, but you can notice his ruffled fur (which means he’s flustered.)

“Vil, please show me your cat form, its so cute.” 🥺

“not right now, maybe later… i still have things to finish, that i can’t exactly do with paws.”

IDIA SHROUD

—idia LOVES his cat form. its such a shell from human interaction. he doesn’t need to speak, he doesn’t stutter, say the wrong thing, worry. its such a blessing. plus he’s so cute as a cat!!

—he definitely abuses this power, he uses it for almost every interaction you have. you don’t know that its idia of course. it shocks others that has seen the ‘stray’ cat in the halls that you’re the only one able to actually pet him, and hold him in his arms.

—when he gets home he absolutely crumbles, looking back at the day. and imagining it was him in his human form, rather then the mask of a cat… he can dream you love him forever right?

—he’s pretty similar in both forms. he acts similar to a cat in his human form too. pining for your attention, and trailing behind you like a lost puppy (or cat in this case). Don’t blame him for getting addicted to your company. He likes you a lot, you know?

—malleus isn’t subtle with his affections. pouting/meowing when he doesn’t have your attention. he’s still clingy as he is a cat even looking as an adult man. Malmal definitely also seeks your praise as if he’s a cat still.

Crush Headcanons

Characters: Riddle Rosehearts, Ace Trappola, Leona Kingscholar, Floyd Leech

Fandom: Twisted Wonderland

Genre: Fluff

How the NRC boys act when they have a crush, and how they try to win your heart over!

Riddle Rosehearts

Ah, yes. Our favorite emotionally-stunted dormwarden, Riddle Rosehearts. There’s not much of a precursor to him realizing he has feelings for you. One night, a few months into your friendship, Riddle will notice that he enjoys your company even more so than Trey or Cater. And then it hits him. Oh, he has a crush.

His demeanor around you will do a complete 180 after that. While before, he would talk casually with you about any and all subject matter, he’s not so sure how to approach it anymore. He’ll go up to you in the hallways between classes and during free periods, back stiff as a board, and ask you to accompany him to the library to run some errands, or he’ll extend a gracious invitation to an unbirthday party next week. Yes, those are his exact words.

You’ll be left wondering why Riddle’s demeanor has changed so much around you until you realize that he’s following all the steps to initiating a relationship from the NRC Gentleman’s Club Guide to Courting, 3rd Edition. Either that, or Trey will tell you outright to your face that Riddle is trying his best to win you over, he knows you like Riddle too, please just take him off of Trey’s hands for a while.

Speaking of pawning Riddle off to be someone else’s problem, that’s exactly what most of Heartslabyul dorm will be doing once they catch onto Riddle’s feelings for you. They’ll keep you around as much as possible, because when you’re around, Riddle will try his best to keep himself contained. He could be right in the middle of shouting off with your head to a group of freshmen, but the moment you enter he stops dead in his tracks and lets them off with a warning. The first years scramble out of the room, silently thanking a higher power for sending them a guardian angel in their time of need.

Cater is the best wingman Riddle could ask for, except that he didn’t ask for him. Regardless of how many times Riddle tells him that he wants to court you himself like a proper romantic candidate, Cater will insist that he needs to be more flashy about it! He can still be a classic man and be a bit more modern! Why doesn’t Riddle take you on a fancy dinner date to Mostro Lounge, instead of another boring ol’ tea party? (Cater definitely gets his head offed for that one).

Riddle does take one piece of advice to heart, though. Cater suggests that spending time together and doing new things is the best way to get someone to like you, and Riddle thinks that’s reasonable enough. He’ll try to vary the things he invites you to do with him. One day you’ll be helping him paint the roses in the Rose Maze, and other days he’ll take you on a ride on his horse, Vorpal, around the racing track.

Riddle will slowly lose the awkward formality that he held around you when he realized he liked you as more than a friend. His posture will relax and he’ll begin to talk to you normally again. One thing that won’t change though is the gentlemanly ways he treats you on these ‘trial dates.’ If you’re at dinner he’ll pull out your chair for you and hold the door. When strolling the campus he’ll link his arm in yours. If you’re trying to get a leg up on Vorpal’s back, he’ll hold your hand until you can steady yourself. It’s all very sweet really, and he’ll have a small smile on his face every time he does so.

Ace Trappola

Ace is another case where you’d definitely be friends before he falls for you, but instead of establishing a formal ‘courting period’ like Riddle does, Ace will just… not change. He’s still the same roughish, loveable idiot to you, messing with you at the most inopportune moments and pulling tricks to steal your food. But somehow, he gets a bit softer whenever you’re around. Instead of just calling you a dumbass, he’ll call you my dumbass. That’s just how he shows his affections.

Ace has had a few encounters with romance before, but he’s never once thought so much about how he must have looked to them. With you, he wants to look cool. He wants to be your number one, your first and best choice! If you’re watching him at basketball practice, he’ll throw you a wink whenever he scores a basket.

Deuce is now his rival, end of story. Whether or not Deuce knows it or even likes you in the first place, Ace will always be trying to one-up him in front of you. Deuce got 79 on his last potionology test? Expect Ace to be studying nonstop for the next week, and return to you with a 79.5. 0.5 points more than Deuce! You can tell who the better man is now, right?

He’s not shy about his feelings, but he may not confirm them right away either. He’ll call you cute, mess with you, and playfully push you around a bit, letting you know that he likes you. But truth be told he’s a little afraid of the idea that you might not want to be with a troublemaker like him, so he’ll wait to see how you react to his advances.

If you’re welcoming to them, then expect Ace to step up his game tenfold from then on. He’ll walk you to and from every class of the day, beg you to study with him in his dorm room, even show up at your door in the middle of the night with an armload of your favorite snacks. He’ll grin at you when you open the door, quickly shoving past you and inviting himself in to dump his successful ‘hunt’ on the table. Pick whichever ones you like, he got them all for you!

The best thing about Ace having a crush on you is that no matter what, he will always be your friend, first and foremost. He wants to have fun with you and enjoy life by your side. Laughter is common when you’re around him, and he’ll always be looking for new ways to make you smile.

Leona Kingscholar

Leona is an odd one. Upon first glance it seems like he doesn’t spare you one look. Sure, you might make friendly conversation with him while in passing, but he’s not showering you with attention at every opportunity like some others. It’s only when you notice that he’s a little more courteous around you than he is with others do you understand his true feelings towards you.

Leona’s hints are subtle. Whenever you enter a room his ear will twitch as if he has just heard the most interesting tidbit of conversation. If your name is mentioned he might even raise his head to see what’s going on. He’ll keep an eye on you subtly from afar, especially when walking at night, to keep you safe. And a few choice orders from Ruggie later, and Leona will have your favorite food on the plate in front of him. He wants to know what it tastes like, so he can understand the subtlety of your character a bit better.

This boy feels no need to show off in front of you. He knows he’s strong, you know he’s strong, and so does everyone else. While he wouldn’t mind you seeing him score a goal or two during Spelldrive, he doesn’t feel the need to prove it. If he’s really the game that day though, he’ll look up after scoring, and point directly towards you in the stands. Out of thousands of spectators, he knew exactly where you’ve been the whole time, and though no one else knows who he’s pointing to, he knows you’ll get the message.

Many people are scared of him, sometimes for good reason. No one sets foot on Savanaclaw dorm territory without him knowing, and usually, it’ll end in a beatdown or a forceful eviction from the premises. With you though, you can wander through the entrance without so much as a comment from the students. Some of them are even friendly to you, waving and shouting greetings. It’s Leona’s orders that they treat you well, after all.

The housewarden of Savanaclaw dorm is not ashamed of his feelings for you. Why should he be? Does caring about someone he holds in high esteem bring shame upon him? You’re a perfectly suitable romantic option. He’s not going to make a big show of his affection towards you, but he’s not going to hide it. He just lets it be.

If you notice and take an interest in him too, great. He’ll see you next weekend for a date in the Botanical Gardens.

Floyd Leech

Floyd is eccentric at times and that carries over to his romantic life. He’s got a pretty face and unique look, so he’s used to getting attention from admirers here and there. Every so often, he’ll flirt back if the mood suits him. But most of the time they’re nothing more than passing flings or amusements. Something about you is different, though. Floyd trusts his intuition.

Even if he has a fondness for you, you’re not safe from Floyd’s teasing. No one is, not even Azul or Jade. Floyd finds it’s a surefire way to get your attention- poke at you until you swat him away, then grab your hand in his and squeeze- but gently.

You may not pick up on Floyd’s feelings towards you right away. He’s physically touchy with many people, not just you, and he generally gets a kick out of ‘playing’ with them. When you’re involved though, he’s a bit more amiable. He’ll lay off on the taunts and divert his focus to gifting you unusual compliments. If no one’s ever complimented you on the comparison of your shoes to a deep sea anchor, then Floyd will do it.

Floyd’s mood swings are a point of contingency for most people, and he knows this. For that reason he’s all the more appreciative of the empathy you show him- you try to understand how he’s feeling and why he feels that way. He won’t say it out loud but the gratitude shows- he’ll follow through with an action, even if his initial thought on it is negative. Sometimes, it’ll lead to him actually enjoying the activity you’ve roped him into.

His nicknames for you vary at times, but he’ll always have one favorite one. Sometimes you’re his clamshell, sometimes you’re starfish or pearl. But at the end of the day, you’ll always be his little Shrimpy.

Even though Floyd can be seen as lazy sometimes, he makes a consistent effort when it comes to spending time with you. It’s not uncommon to walk out of class and get swept up in his wake, then suddenly end up at a new restaurant that opened up in the commercial district to do chocolate-tasting with you. How did you even get there? Who knows.

Riddle Rosehearts

I feel that he has a soft, angelic voice but would be shy to sing in front of everyone, probably passing the mic to all his other dorm mates.

He’s more piano-equip than singing-equip, so singing techniques might be a bit amateurish. I don’t think he’ll try to sing classical opera songs though, more of like soft pop songs that he can sing to and don’t embarrass himself in front of everyone.

He has a delicate yet pretty deep voice he can go down to, but it’s usually light and pretty, perfect for singing slow songs and all.

It’s just that he might go first to excuse himself to leave later because he is NOT gonna sit through to listen Rook going crazy af over the love song playlists-

Idia Shroud

Mostly anime songs. He’s singing voice is actually not bad, it’s just that he’d rather not, and maybe he’ll only have a karaoke session with his brother Ortho.

Family Bonding Time 👍

Idia can sing all kinds of anime songs, and I mean ALL KINDS-

It can go from sad ones too downright fast and upbeat and Ortho would be having light sticks raised for his brother and cheering him on.

Riddle Rosehearts:

He's never really shared his bed before. Riddle is a bit of a picky sleeper. He's not a light sleeper, but he can't fall asleep unless the conditions are right. He can't fall asleep unless he's laying down on his back. There can't be too much noise when he's trying to fall asleep otherwise he'd be wide awake- not matter how tired he is.

So naturally, waking up with you by his side, he's a little startled. Riddle doesn't flinch or scream, but he is taken aback. He slept well. With you?

You look so at peace when you're asleep. So serene, so still and calm. Did he look like this when he was sleeping with you too?

He held his breath as he heard you stir in your sleep. A wave of relief soon washed over him as you didn't wake from your slumber. He didn't want to get caught staring at you. That would've been embarrassing!

His eyes glance towards the clock on his nightstand.

Ah well... a few minutes wouldn't hurt. Riddle smiled contently and pressed a chaste kiss on your forehead before pulling the covers over the both of you, making sure you're both nice and snug. After all, there's no very important date to be late to.

Leona Kingscholar:

The botanical garden fostered the perfect environment for napping. There was the perfect amount of shade and sunlight for a certain lion to find a moment of solitude and solace.

A moment meaning an hour or two... or three. Leona preferred his naps long. Thirty minutes isn't enough to equate to a nap. Thirty minutes is only enough time to close his eyes and ponder some thoughts. It takes a lot for Leona to fall asleep. However, when he's out, he's out.

Still, he's not a heavy sleeper either. So how on earth did he find himself in this predicament? You clinging onto him like a monkey hugging a tree trunk...

Leona recounts what happened before he fell asleep. Or, at least, what he remembers before he fell asleep

You came to the garden looking for him and found him in his secret spot Then, you said something about another thing. And he said something witty. What was it again?

Oh yes. You said that napping on grass looked uncomfortable and in response, he pulled you into his arms. His eyes dart back to your sleeping figure. Heh, you sure did look comfortable

Azul Ashengrotto:

Azul jolted awake and gasped for air. A nightmare? He can't even remember what it was about. His hand snaked through his hair, aimlessly combing it in a soothing motion while his other hand found itself on top of his heart, feeling it race a thousand miles an hour

He inhaled and exhaled, trying to calm himself. It's just a dream. You're okay. Inhale. Ex- Wait a minute. He's not the only one breathing here

His stormy gray eyes travel to the source: you.

You who slept without a care in the world, somewhere far away. Seeing your face made any leftover shivers and chills dissipate. An angel, truly. Just one look at you and he's grounded. Everything is going to be alright.

Whatever Azul dreamt about earlier was just a dream, but you? You're a reality. Though he may believe that sometimes, being with you feels like a dream, you're real. You're real and you're with him.

That's all the matters. He knows that no matter what, you'll always be there to greet him the next time he opens his eyes.

And with that, Azul intertwines his fingers with yours and finds himself succumbing to his own drowsiness.

Kalim Al-Asim:

Sunlight seeped through Kalim's bedroom window. Jamil would usually wake him around this time, but it's the weekend so he was left undisturbed. Still, Kalim is used to being awake at this time and today was no different.

Well... there was something different- you. You were peacefully snoring by his side. Not full on snoring, but little kitten snoring. It was something he found adorable.

Here at NRC, his bed was a little lonely. Back home, he would sleep with his siblings all the time whether that be slumber parties in their rooms or letting them sleep with him for the night because of a bad dream. Kalim can't really do that here because most people in the dormitory tend to mind their own business and wouldn't dare to disturb him even if they had a bad dream. It was also one of those "too old for that kind of stuff" things

But at least Kalim knows you're comfortable with sharing the same bed as him

Is it because the bed is warmer? Or that you feel safer with him next to you? Is it him that feels safer? Perhaps the feeling is mutual...

Vil Schoenheit:

Waking up next to you is something Vil has to get used to. Sharing the same bed is a norm for most relationships- dating, marriage and whatnot. He shouldn't be so surprised... but he is. For some reason, he is.

Is it because you're one of the few people he truly trusts? Wholeheartedly? Or one of the few people who've seen his face without makeup and still think he's as beautiful as ever.

Or because you have this tendency to watch him when he sleeps and get extremely flustered when he catches you, telling you he's been awake the whole time?

When Vil wakes up before you, he takes some times to brush out the flyaways framing your face. He wants to take the time to admire you and your beauty as much as he can.

Then, he gently shakes you awake. Vil isn't one to snooze as he has a busy schedule and he wants to kiss you goodbye before his time is spent on other things

But even if he is busy, those first few moments in the morning with you mean the world to him

Idia Shroud:

Like Riddle, Idia doesn't share his bed much. Well, he used to share it with Ortho when they were little, but you know...

He's a very closed off person when it comes to touch despite being so touch-starved. It takes a lot for Idia to truly let someone in. He's alright at keeping things surface-level. But sleeping next to each other? That's another story.

The first time he ever woke up with you by his side, it felt like a weight was being lifted off of his shoulders. He felt... at home. It felt comfortable, safe and sound.

You breathing and being so close to him was enough to turn his hair red, but it also made him want to scream into his pillow. He can't do that though. That would wake you up.

Instead, Idia settles for pulling you closer, hugger you like a giant pillow. He wants to relish and savor this moment. He doesn't know if he can have something like this again if he lets go.

It's nice. This love thing you two have going on... Not that he would say that he's in love.

Malleus Draconia:

The fair folk don't require sleep like humans. They can sleep, but it's not necessary to sleep. It's more for recreation. Nevertheless, Malleus is allured by the concept of sleep.

What an honor and an absolute pleasure to have you, a human, to trust him enough to sleep with him.

When humans sleep, they're exposed to many external forces that could potentially harm them. Other people, the environment, and so many more things.

So when you fell asleep on his shoulder, his eyes widened. Tut, tut, child of man. Malleus worries for you. Have you been sleeping well? He's heard of some instances where humans fall asleep because they were too exhausted? It makes sense though. But for now, he'll keep you safe.

What he didn't expect was to fall asleep himself not long after. And surprisingly, you're still in a deep slumber when he's wide awake again.

Perhaps a new hobby of his is watching you sleep. Not in a creepy way, but he just finds it so fascinating. The way your lashes flutter, the way your body rises and falls to the rhythm of your breathing. The way your heart beats.

Humans are truly delicate creatures, but he supposes that's the beauty of them

Twisted wonderland mafia au? (Good luck while running away from mafia)

Warnings: gn reader , be aware of my bad English, not really mentioned yandere traits

You looked at the time, you could only catch up with all of them if you started now. You were supposed to notify seven executives for the monthly meeting that evening.

Night Raven organization, also known as Night Raven mafia, one of the biggest organizations of the underground led by seven executives and boss Crowley. The organization was divided into seven divisions. Each department was managed by their own directors.

Heartslabyul

As you said, the Night Raven organization had seven divisions and directors. The first of these was the Heartslabyul division, which was responsible for the torture and the organization of the mafia . The head of this department was one of the executives , Riddle Rosehearts.

Riddle was a perfect fit for management. Strict, harsh, cruel. He showed no mercy towards those who broke the rules and traitors' heads.

Trey Clover is Riddle's right-hand man, his most trusted man. He was loved by all for his calm fatherly demeanor. No one who saw him walking down the street would believe that he was in the mafia, especially in the torture division Heartslabyul.

Cater Diamond was an entertaining type with his cheerful and fun personality. Although taking pictures and listening to music were among his hobbies, torturing traitors was the activity that amused him the most.

Ace Trappola is rookie of the year. He was a newcomer to the mafia. Even though he was 'good' at his job (the sadistic guy just likes to torture people so he's good at his job), this kid was really good at getting in trouble and getting others in trouble too. You don't remember how many times you rescued him from Riddle.

Deuce Spade rookie 2 . He joined the mafia at the same time as Ace . How come you didn't understand this kid in the mafia especially the torture division heartslabbyul?! He wasn’t really well versed in his business, but the boy really had a great respect for Riddle and Trey.

You knocked on the open door. Ignoring the tied mens staring at you with pity-eyed eyes on the ground, “Sorry for interrupting . I didn’t thought you would be in the middle of your work. Is Riddle-san here?" . “Oh Y/n-chan what a pleasant surprise. Sorry, I'm a little dirty,” Cater said with a smile. His white shirt was visibly soiled with the blood of those mens. "These?" ' you asked, pointing at the mens with your eyes. “They're not people to worry too much about. Just a few traitors, that's all." ' Trey said, appearing behind you.

"You're looking for Riddle, right? Those rookies, Ace and Deuce, seem to be in trouble again. They're in his office with Riddle right now. They are waiting to be saved by a savior angel.”

You laughed at what Trey said, but you should meet the other executives. “I'm sorry, but I don't think I can save them this time. I need to talk to other executives as well.”

"I see, it's for the monthly meeting, right?"

"Yes. I think Riddle has already prepared all the paperwork for the meeting.”

“You know him very well.”

“The meeting is in the main headquarters meeting room at 8 pm . I texted him but you remind him anyway. Then goodbye.”

Savanaclaw

The second division was Savanaclaw, which fought the power of the mafia and other organizations when necessary.

Leona Kingscholar is one of seven executives and head of this department. Usually he slept somewhere, unless he had any duties. His right-hand man, Ruggie, often took care of the documents he needed to deal with as a executive . You were one of the few people who knew how cunning Leona was, even though he was the power of the mafia, you knew very well how he analyzed his enemy and planned strategies before the battles.

Ruggie Bucci , Leona's right-hand man. Despite his weak appearance compared to the other members of Savanaclaw, he is respected by the members. He would take care of the department more than Leona. In wars, he usually stayed in the back line and took care of post-war cleaning. He was more concerned with the documents Leona had to deal with.

Jack Howl is a rookie who just joined Savanaclaw. With his strong build, he quickly adapted to Savanaclaw. Despite his stern appearance, Jack was very polite. Because of his character, Jack was among the people you couldn't understand why he joined the mafia. What was someone like him, who was boiling with a sense of justice, doing in the mafia?

The phone was busy for the tenth time. But you knew him, after a while he was going to get angry and answer, and he finally answered your call.

“Hi Leona-san this is Y/n speaking. How are you sir."

“Damn! What do you want, herbivore!” Leona shouted. There were shouts and gunfire from behind. Looks like he was in a fight again.

“Excuse me for bothering you in the middle of your work, but I was supposed to inform you that you have to come to the main headquarters meeting room at 8 pm for the monthly meeting. The boss wants all seven of the seven executives.”

No response, just shouting.

“Leona-san?”

“Y/n-shii this is Ruggie. Leona-san is busy right now but he heard you. Don't worry, I'll bring him to the meeting. But in return for this favor buy me a meal.”

“Thank you Ruggie-san. I’m counting on you ."

Octavinelle

The third division was Octavinelle, which controlled the money flow of the mafia . At the head of this department was Azul Ashengrotto, one of the seven managers.

Azul Ashengrotto was the type of person who could bargain with the devil with his quick wit. In addition to being a well-known businessman in the business world, he was also a well-known casino owner in the underground world. Usually, those in financial difficulties would be deceived by his smile and beggar and borrow money from him and then become his slaves because they could not pay the debt.

Jade and Floyd Leech are twins who Azul trusts more than anyone else, often doing the dirty work. They had jobs such as finding those who did not pay their debts and threatening them. Floyd was the emotional, active of the twins. He liked to play with things that caught his attention. His twin, Jade, was the same as his brother , both in appearance and character. The only difference was that unlike Floyd, Jade was calmer.

You opened the door and entered the stylish bar. Although it was noon, the bar, which was always crowded with customers, was empty.

“Oh the shrimpy has arrived~” Floyd jumped at you.

“Hello Y/n, how can we help you at the Mounstro Lounge?” Jade greeted.

“Hi Jade and Floyd. I came to see Azul-san. Are they here?"

“Ah Azul is currently meeting with an important client. Would you like something to drink while you wait?" Jade handed the menu.

"No thanks. If it's going to take a long time, I'll go. I was going to tell him to be in the main headquarters meeting room at 8 pm for the monthly meeting.”

“I thought you came because you needed money.” said a familiar voice.

“Azul-san,” you greeted Azul.

"You're done early," said Jade.

“Then, as I said, please come to the meeting tonight, Azul-san.” You got up.

“Eh~ shrimpy are you leaving already?” Floyd whined.

“I have a lot of work to do so I have to go.”

“See you then Y/n. Remember, whenever you need money, come.” said Azul.

“I don't think such a day will come. Even if I need money, Azul-san is the last person I would borrow money from.” You said and left.

Scarabia

The fourth division Scarabia was concerned with the external relations of the mafia with other organizations, high-ranking persons, etc. The head of this department was Kalim Al-Asim from the famous Al-Asim family.

Kalim Al-Asim, the cheerful head of the Scarabia department. Unlike other executives , Kalim was a kind, naive, sweet person. He treated his subordinates more like a friend than a manager. Sometimes you would forget that he was the executive of one of the most dangerous underground organizations. Apart from looking so naive, Kalim was pretty good at his job. His attitude towards people made many people like him, even though Jamil was the one who handling matters such as politics etc.

Jamil Viper is the director behind the shadows and Kalim's 'best friend'. He was the complete opposite of Kalim with his quiet, calm and cunning personality. Although Kalim got along well with people, Jamil usually made the deals. Jamil was the one mostly (almost entirely) take care of the department. Many people even call him the real director or the executive in the shadows for this reason.

“Some coffee?” You handed the man with his head buried in the documents a cup of coffee.

"It'll be fine," said the man with tired eyes.

“Looks like Kalim has left most of the work to you again, Jamil.”

"Why did you come ? Or is there another task or something? I swear, if the number of documents I have to deal with increases, I will throw myself from the highest floor of this building.”

You chuckled at his words.

“All executives should be in the main headquarters meeting room at 8 pm this evening for the monthly meeting.”

“Monthly meeting… Yes, I remember. Out of all the work, I forgot for a second. Okay, don't worry, I'll inform Kalim about the meeting."

"Okay then I'm leaving. Don’t work too much, it’s not good for your health ."

“If you don't want me to get too tired, you can do these things for me Y/n.”

“Sorry, next time, bye” you waved your hand from behind the door.

Pomefiore

Fifth division , the mafia’s assassin department Pomefiore. This department consisted of specially trained assassins who committed the perfect murder without leaving any evidence. At the head of the department was Vil Schoenheit ,one of the most famous assassins of the underworld and also one of the seven executives.

Vil Schoenheit , the best assassin of the underworld. Because he kills his targets with poison, he is nicknamed as the Poison Apple. He is known as a tough and strict person as a executive. He wants his subordinates to show their best. He dislikes being told about the Rival mafia’s assassin as well as his ex-partner Neige LeBlanche from whom he used to be trained by the same teacher.

Rook Hunt Vil's right-hand man, nicknamed Hunter. A lunatic who says death is when people are most beautiful. Unlike Vil, he likes to play with his prey. He talks endlessly about how sweet the way his prey escapes him seems to him.

Epel Felmier Pomifiore's rookie. The poor boy had only wanted to join Savanaclaw, but Vil had taken him in, claiming he saw potential. Unlike the other members of Pormifiore, Epel was a noisy, uncontrollable person. That's why you still didn't understand what kind of potential Vil saw in him.

“Oh Y/n welcome, I didn't expect to see you.” ' Rook called out. He and Epel were outside for target practice.

“Yes, I came to meet with Vil-san. Is he in his room?"

“Oh yes, he just got back from his Duty. Right now he’s probably busy with his skincare routine."

"I understand. What are you doing ?" you asked.

"Oh, I took little Epel with me on my last mission, but he's still not good at using weapons, so we were practicing target practice with him."

“How many times have I said I don't want to be a Pomefiore assassin. Let me go to Savanaclaw." whined Epel.

This rug of his made you laugh.

“If Vil-san sees potential in you, there must be something in you. I have to go now, I have to meet with Vil-san.”

You knocked on the door, when the answer came, you entered. Vil was lying on the bed with a clay mask on his face, filing his nails. When you entered, he stopped and looked at you.

"You look wonderful as always, sir." You greeted him.

“And You look awful as always, Potato. Why did you come ?"

You smiled.

“Please come to the main headquarters meeting room for the Monthly meeting tonight at 8 pm. The boss wants all executives to be there.”

“Agh! Was it today. OK, is there anything else I should know ?"

“No, sir. Then with your permission"

As you were about to leave, you stopped at Vil's call.

“Potato, I will be free this week. I need to take care of your situation. You really have to take care of yourself a little bit.”

“Thank you for your thoughtful consideration. I will contact you when I am free.”

Ignihyde

The sixth department was Ignihyde, this department was the source of information for the mafia as well as producing state-of-the-art weapons and vehicles with great engineers. At the head of the department was Idia Shroud, one of the seven executives.

Idia Shroud , the mysterious director of the Ignihyde department even his subordinates in his department almost never saw his face . Although he was known as a genius, the nerdy genius Idia would never leave his room (aside from the urging of his brother and you) and would work all day with new weapons or stuff . He would even forgot his daily basis so you had to call him every day to remind him.

You suddenly opened the door, only computer light illuminating the dark room. You entered the room, ignoring the owner.

“Ahh Y/n-shii stop!” ' the blue-haired man pleaded.

You opened the curtains.

“Agh sunshine!”

“You are overreacting , you played video games all night again. Your eyes are purple from lack of sleep. You haven't even eaten. What am I going to do with you, Idia-san.”

Idia averted his eyes like a child scolded by their mother.

“I made you dinner. Don't forget to eat it or I’ll be really pissed off . If I didn't had any work , I'd stay and feed you with my own hands, but - whatever. Come to the main headquarters meeting room at 8 pm this evening. For the monthly meeting, the boss wants all the executives.”

“Do I have to come? Can I talk through the tablet? I can right? “

You raised one of your eyebrows as meaning to say was it even a question . Upon your gaze, Idia clung to your leg and began to whine.

“Y/n-shii please I don’t want to come. You can't leave me alone in the same room with those horrible mens."

You ran your hands through your hair.

“Idia-san please let go of my leg. I still have a lot of work to get done. Have your dinner and come to the meeting tonight. Then with your permission-”

“I don't allow it!”

“I said it because of politeness.” You finally saved your leg and left.

Diasomnia

Finally, Diasomnia, even you didn't know what this department was in charge of. All you knew was that only the most talented, powerful people could get in. In other words, it could be called the special department of the mafia.

Malleus Draconia is the heir to the famous Draconia family and also the head of Diasomnia, one of the seven executives of the Night Raven mafia. Even though you were friends with him, you didn't know much about him. He was just a mysterious and kind man.

Lilia Vanrogue is a jovial, playful Diasomnia member. He may be the mafia member with the most gossip about him. According to some rumors, he was a former government agent, according to others he was a former mercenary who fought on the battlefields but who knows what was real ,only God knew.

Silver was a mysterious type like the other Diansomnia members, not much was known about him. He was a quiet man, spending most of his time sleeping. On rare occasions you've seen him train with Sebek or Lilia. He was a really great fighter.

Sebek Zigvolt a Diasomnia member who is the complete opposite of Silver. Although he was often with Silver, he was the complete opposite of him. Every time he saw him he was baffled by Silver that he should be a suitable subordinate to Malleus.

“Hello Y/n.” You reflexively drew your gun at the sudden sound you heard.

“Oh your reflexes are pretty good.” Seeing that the voice was owned by Lilia, a member of Diasomnia with short black-purple hair, you relaxed and put your gun down.

“Lilia-san you scared me.”

“Oh really ,” Lilia chuckled.

"If you're looking for Malleus, he's having tea in his study."

"Thank you sir."

Malleus told you to enter before you even knocked on the door. When you walked in, you saw Malleus drinking tea by the window. While drinking tea he was watching Sebek and Silver, who were training outside.

“Malleus-san , good day sir.” You greeted him.

“Good day to you too Y/n.” said Malleus gently.

“I'm disturbing you, but I came to inform you that the monthly meeting will be in the main headquarters meeting room at 8 pm this evening. The boss wants all seven executives to be there.”

“I know Y/n. Would you like to join me while drinking tea? There are also cookies you like.”

As expected of Malleus Draconia, he already knew everything.

“I am sorry sir but I must decline your invitation. But I'll be happy to have tea with you another time."

Malleus smiled. "I understand"

“Then with your permission, sir” and you left.

Everything was ok. The documents were lined up in order, the food and drinks that each executive liked were prepared. One hour left until the meeting. You took a deep breath as you got everything done on time.

“Good job again as always Y/n.”

“Crewel-sensei!”

Divus Crewel , a former mafia executive. He had quit running a long time ago, but was still training newcomers to the mafia. He used to be your teacher.

"I heard you're leaving the mafia."

Your eyes got huge with what he said.

"Sensei-"

“Don't worry no one knows but me, but I don't think it will take them long to find out huh. “

“You are right sir,” you said shamefaced.

“Before you came, these seven brats were always arguing. Not a single day in the mafia would go smoothly, but after you came, at least the departmental fights within the mafia were over. “

You were silent, not knowing what to say.

“Y/n you have to be very careful ,those seven are not the ones who will just accept the fact you’re leaving the mafia. The more you run, the more they will find you. You know right ? They're not the seven executives of Night Raven for nothing."

"Yes sir."

“Then there is nothing to do. I hope you live a peaceful life after the mafia.”

He had just woken up from another nap when he heard your footsteps coming closer. Ah yes, one of the best things to have when you wake up; your (s/o) by your side.

He lazily hugs you with an arm on your waist when you sit near him. You stroke his head, resulting in him purring a little. (Lions do purr, believe me or not!)

He smells the air for a few moments, because along with your scent there is another. And it smells like tender, delicious meat.

He turns his head to you as you take out something from a paper bag; the source of that scent.

Aaaaaand.... It’s a meat sandwich!

“Is it for me?” He smugly asks while eyeing you.

You nod, of course it’s for him! Who else would make something that contains his favorite food? And you tell him that this is a small token of appreciation for loving you.

He laughs and pats your head then he takes a bite out of it. ...It’s well cooked too!

“So, do you like it?” You ask.

Instead, he replies with a kiss since his mouth is full.

When he backs off, you can see him smiling at you. He seems to like your gift! 😊

He was sitting on a bench to rest after a tiring day when you approached him with a paper bag with something special in it.

Wait a minute, the bag on your hand smells divine! Could it be that you brought him what he thinks it is?!

You smile and kiss him on the cheek while putting the bag on his lap, and being the hungry boy he is, he breaks the kiss when he notices the bag on his lap.

He literally tears the bag apart to notice a box. Lo and behold; it’s a box full of doughnuts!

As he gobbles them he smiles at you with mouth full of them, wondering how did he get so lucky to be loved by you.

When he is done eating the doughnuts, he jumps onto you and starts to kiss your face as you playfully laugh and ruffle his hair.

You are certain that he will return to favor by bringing you your favorite food some time later~

He was surprised to say the least, especially after getting an earful from Vil.

The next thing you knew after putting the plate on his desk was him just tackling you.

He hugged you tightly as to not let you go, obviously overjoyed.

You hugged him back, not as tight, and kissed him on the forehead.

You can definitely say he absolutely loved your little treat. 🤭

Then his eyes caught a familiar sight of the package; two packs of spicy ramen.

“I was thinking of trying these with you...” You said with a giggle.

“It’s okay baby~” He put his phone down with a smile and kissed you.

You calmly put the ramens in your bowls and put the water, carefully as to not burn your hands, while Cater put the spices and prepared the chopsticks.

As you ate them together, you kissed him on the corner of his lips, making his cheeks flush deeper in response. This seems like it cheered him up.

As he is done with his bowl, he grabs your chin and kisses you on the lips.

He notices the said contents, that being two glasses of tomato juice with sandwiches, spilling out and messing up the floor...

“I wanted to surprise you, but I think you did it first.” You said, a little upset... but then he lifts you up.

“It is not a problem for me at all, my dear~” He smiles as he brings you to the kitchen.

While being in there, he takes out a carafe full of tomato juice from the fridge. Your eyes widen.

“Did you have this much juice already?!” You yell, clearly SHOOK, to which he replies, “Why yes, I had. Why wouldn’t I?”

You look down in disappointment while he gives you a glass and smooches you on the lips. 🥰

“You needn’t have to give me anything, you are the biggest gift to me.” He says, caressing your cheek.

You can’t seem to decide whether you want to kiss him or kick him in the nuts... But hey, he seems happy!

He was sitting in cafeteria, unusually alone, and eating his lunch when you approached him with a paper bag... He looked so sad. :(

You sit beside him with your plate and he immediately hugs you tightly and rests his head on your shoulder.

“Kalim, are you alright?” You ask him as you are worried, but he doesn’t answer. He just stays still like that.

“Jamil’s sick today, so he can’t be here... But hey, at least you’re here now!” He says with a smile on his face.

You slightly frown and kiss his cheek as you take out your surprise from the paper bag. His eyes catch the familiar sight of a brown fuzz as it becomes more clear; it’s coconut juice in a cup that resembles a coconut!

“Is that for me?!” He yells, getting the attention of some students. He snatches the cup and immediately opens it. You give him the straw that comes with it.

“Well, Cater and I were visiting a cafe the other day and I wanted to get something for you as well.” You pat his head. “I know Jamil’s not here to bring you coconut juice, but I did.. You looked like you needed it so- Wait, are you crying?!”

He was, indeed, crying... He puts the cup to the side and throws his arms around your neck.

“(Y/N)!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUUUUUUUCH!!!” He says while his tears wet your chest. You rub his back and kiss him on the top of his head.

A few days later, you hear a knock on your door. When you open it, you see Kalim standing there with the huge smile on his face. He grabs your face and kisses you on the lips before you can register what’s going on.

Before you know it, he brings you outside and you see a huge pile of gifts, all of them being your favorite ones... Your jaw nearly drops when he asks you this, “Did you like it (Y/N)? 😁”

You just stand there, trying to comprehend everything.
