My Comfort Characters + Comfort Prompts!

Alright! Since it's Spring Break I'm going to try and get some writing done with some of my comfort characters. They might be short prompts (unless I get really into them) but I'll try and post at least one story a day, maybe even two if I have the time!

SOME OF THESE WILL HAVE MATURE THEMES AND MENTIONS OF TRAUMA. TW: SA Mention in one of Matthew's Prompts.

Here is the characters with the prompts that I'll be going for (some based off of my own experiences but put in a way that others can relate to.):

Dick Grayson/Nightwing - Being Touch Starved/Wanting A Hug (General Comfort) Sometimes being a hero is taxing, and when your body is trained to handle blow after blow... sometimes a hug is enough to make you release a lot of feelings you didn't know you were even holding in. Dick Grayson notices your change in demeanor, and just does a simple act of giving you a long hug and telling you it's going to be okay.

Tadashi Hamada - Academic Burnout Comfort After doing your best in your academics, you still feel like you're falling behind or just on the wrong academic path in general. Tadashi helps comfort reader that if they want to take a break and rethink things, it's totally okay.

Matthew Anderson - Having To Grow Up Too Fast/Lack of Childhood Comfort After having to take care and deal with so many traumatic things at a young age, it's made you feel like an adult, even when you weren't. Now that you are an adult, looking back and realizing you couldn't just be a kid and have a normal childhood really upsets you. Matthew comforts the character and shows them that while it might not be the same, it's still possible to just act like a kid and heal your inner child.

AND (TW: SA Mention) Matthew Anderson - Respecting Boundaries Comfort You and Matthew have been dating for awhile. However, you're finding a hard time telling him about your past experience with being sexually assaulted. When Matthew starts noticing that you're starting to distance yourself from him before things start to heat up, he asks if you're okay and comfortable with him. When you tell him the truth, he comforts you and tells you that he will always love you regardless if you want to have sex or not.

Yuji Itadori - Perfectionist Tendencies Leading To Self-Esteem Issues Comfort You've been wanting to become an jujutsu sorcerer and help people your whole life, but you hold yourself to a different standard. After making a tiny mistake (which does not feel tiny to you at all) you start to doubt that you'll ever be good enough. Yuji comforts the reader and tells them that we can't all be perfect all the time, that we need to forgive ourselves from time to time, and we can only strive to do our best.

Obey Me! Satan - Learning Disability/Gifted Child Burnout Comfort You used to be great with academics when you were younger, and maybe in some subjects you still are just as good. But now that you're older and in a completely new academic environment, no one but Satan sees how you struggle to study, and stress yourself out to the point of crying when the words on the page seem to get jumbled up and not make sense to you. Satan helps you take a break, then helps make the studying process a little bit easier.

Ruggie Bucchi - Not Knowing When To Take A Break Comfort You're the type of person who is so used to being tasked with everything. Cleaning, cooking, studying, and caring for others, but that means you tend to forget to take care of yourself a lot. After feeling overwhelmed by the tasks you have to do, you make yourself on the verge of being sick because you can't seem to just pause anything. Ruggie helps the reader by forcing them to sit down before they collpase, and helps share the load with the reader and shows that it's possible to let other people take care of them too.

Cove Holden - Struggling With Things Changing Comfort Takes place around Step 3, when all of your friends and family are taking about their plans for the future, you start to realize what that exactly means. The feelings hit you all at once that things aren't going to be the same anymore, and while you're happy for your friends and family, the change still scares you. Cove reminds you that no matter what happens, he will always be there for you through everything, and that while things are changing, some things will always stay the same.

Dick Grayson & Tadashi Hamada

Dick watches Big Hero 6 when he's a kid and sighs because he loves the two brothers. Tadashi is automatically his favorite character.

Dick watches Jason for the first time out in the field, and Jason has a gun to his head. He leaps in to help, doesn't mean he has totally eased up with Jason being Robin though.

Dick watches Big Hero 6 with the Titans when he learns that none of them had watched it. He grins as Tadashi comes in view, to save Hiro, but the grin freezes as he flashes back to Jason and how he had saved him... just like Tadashi.

Dick watches Jason as the kid's waiting in the parking lot to be picked up from school. He's still a little awkward and bitter around him, but he's willing to put it away. For Tadashi's sake. They get talking as Dick drives Jason on his bike, and he smiles as he remembers the first scene with Hiro and Tadashi and asks Jason if he likes bike stunts.

It's been months, and Dick has been spending time with Jason a lot, watching keenly as the kid grows attached to him and they start acting more like Hiro and Tadashi... like brothers. He comes to a decision.

Dick watches Jason's reactions all throughout their movie night, watching The Big Hero 6. Jason loves it. He asks Dick if they could get a giant marshmallow man with Bruce's money. Dick considers it seriously, but Bruce catches them before they could do anything.

Dick's eyes widen as Jason asks him to watch Big Hero 6 with him again one day, he watches the movie with Jason's head on his lap as he strokes his hair.

Dick watches as Jason breaks into his apartment weekly. He pretends he's sleeping, but not really. Jason always arrives at the exact same time every Wednesday. They're really close now.

Dick watches The Big Hero 6 and his face is full of tears. He pauses at the moment when the building explodes and Hiro is thrown back with the force of the explosion. He can't take it. Jason died in an explosion, beaten, tortured, then burnt. He curls up and sobs his heart out.

Dick watches tensely as Tim quips and flips and punches the crooks raging on the street. He tries not to interfere too much, he needs to give Tim space, but he can't help it - he's worried.

Dick's eyes widen as Tim hesitantly approaches him and asks about the Big Hero 6 DVD in his apartment as they were clearing it out. Tim says that he watched half of it when he was a kid, he didn't get to finish the movie and he was wondering if Dick would like to...? Dick wants to say no. He wants to grab the DVD and throw it out the window. He doesn't. He says maybe another time instead.

Dick watches the door of Tim's new bedroom that used to be the guest room. Tim hasn't been eating or sleeping much since... since Jack and Captain Boomerang. He raises his hand, and ripping of the bandaid, he knocks. Tim says he isn't in the mood to watch anything, sorry. Dick opens up his laptop to the movie anyway and sits beside Tim on the bed, keeping a little distance, as the movie plays. Tim rests his head on Dick's shoulder during Hiro's mourning scene, tired. Dick rubs his head affectionately.

Dick watches as Red Hood snarks in front of him, boasting about how he beat the newest Robin, trying to rile Dick up. But all Dick can see is the kid who poked him and called him Tadashi teasingly and referred to himself as Hiro. He walks forward, ignores the fearful step back Red Hood takes, and hugs his brother.

Dick watches in amusement as the 10-year-old baby assassin tries to explain an ambush plan to use to capture Penguin. He was Batman and the kid was Robin. It was a perfect team. Dick felt more like Tadashi than ever. Sure, squirt, Dick ruffles his hair, a grin delighting his features as the kid scowls adorably and fixes his hair back.

Dick is captured. He is tied up. He can't move. He hears ticking. He knows it will be over soon. He really is Tadashi, sticking to it till the end. He closes his eyes and stops watching the seconds ticking by on the bomb. No sense in counting his own doom.

The last tick goes by. A great booming fills the air. Everything goes black.

"No, no no no no no. Don't do this to me, Dick."

"Richard, get up. Grayson, come on. I know you're fooling around. Get up."

"Dickhead, I swear to God, if you don't get up right this moment, I will skewer you."

"Dick-"

"Richard-

"Please-"

"You're not Tadashi, you asshole, get the fuck up!"

They watch as the explosion rings out, fire consumes the air, and their big brother is lost.

Underestimating Me.

The shareholders meeting went by quick probably less than 20 minutes. Everything has been leading up to this and now it's over. At the art gallery, Gideon is met with an image that makes his heart shatter. Su has Grayson in his arms holding him and locked in a steamy embrace

Su feels a heated gaze and looks up and sees Gideon standing there. Smirking at Gideon Su starts to leave kisses all over Grayson's neck

Su: I'll see you later tonight yeah?

Grayson: Okay. Let's go out for a movie and dinner

Su: Anything for you

Su looks back up and Gideon is gone

*later that night*

Su enters his home to be met with Gideon sitting in his living room

Su: Jesus fucking Christ. How the fuck did you get in?!

Gideon: I would have liked to have a civil conversation with you but that won't work with you

Su: Are you insane?

Gideon is quiet and Su notices a bat leaning on Gideon's legs with a chuckle Su asks "What? A pretty boy like you is going to hurt me? Does Grayson know who you're working for now?

Gideon: Your problem is that you underestimate me. That's fine

Gideon gets up and grips the bat

Su: Has working under Daisuke turned you into a violent underling?

Gideon: That's where you're mistaken. I've always been like this

Gideon swings the bat toward Su's legs and he hits the floor with a thud "You fucking dick!!" Gideon swings the bat again and hits Su's arm.

Gideon: Enjoy the rest of your time with Grayson. It's over after graduation"

Gideon leaves the apartment with Su still writhing on the floor in pain. Not too long after Ren appears at the apartment "Daisuke warned you. This won't end well for you"

Su: Shut up and help me up. God, what a fucking dick. Daisuke wants to work with him? For fucking what

Ren: Daisuke appreciates cut-throat people

Su: Gideon is cutthroat? Don't make me laugh

Ren: I would say he is. He basically sold off his company to Daisuke and pushed his family out

Su: He did what?

Ren: The company his family has owned for generations was ripped from under them. You can guess who he did it for. Tadashi also likes him

Su: Fuck....what about River?

Ren: River isn't in SanMy right now but I think he would also like Gideon. Please be mindful of how you continue. Daisuke wants you to know he wouldn't intervene between you and Gideon and hope you know when to stop

Su: Tell Daisuke he can fuck off and mind his business. This isn't Mt. Korembi, he can't tell me what to do

Ren: I'll rely on the message. Goodnight

Su paces back and forth in his apartment, the news of Gideon working under Daisuke changes everything. He thought Gideon was just some loser with no substance but if Gideon could get Daisuke's approval it meant Gideon was someone who shouldn't be taken lightly

Shit shit shit shit shit Su thought he would just have to woo Grayson a little and show Gideon's true colours but this makes everything more complicated. Su takes a final deep breath in and makes his plan. Gideon is just going to have to sit and watch as he takes Grayson away.

Some cases are more obvious than others, and in some cases it is necessary to analyze their history and context to fully understand their situation. I'm a big Disney fan and i'm obsessed with the idea of Dick being a mix of Naveen,Flynn Ryder,Dimitri personalities with Eric looks. Oh and also the Prince Charming attitude from Cinderella 3

Is it accurate? Bcz if it is i will become a Dick Grayson stan just right now lol

(i was into Marvel but now discovering DC and deciding my new confort character)

There are only specific attributes from some characters that represent him to some degree.

Dick is probably more like some mixture of Tadashi (wants to help people, rushes into danger to help others, hard-working, intelligent, inventor, big brother energy), Jim Hawkins (independent, adrenaline junkie, abandonment issues, competent in mechanical/technician work), and Li Shang (leader, tough but kind, disciplined, high expectations, more serious demeanor).

Do not spam me, I have to sleep, go to school, spend time with friends, etc. If I do not respond within twelve hours, then you are welcome to begin to send me reminders.

I will only rp NSFW if it is something the roleplay is leading up to, I will not do a lot of it and it cannot be the main point of the roleplay.

Do not take control of my characters, if you want something to happen then you can speak tome about it and we can figure it out together.

Respect my boundaries, if I tell you something makes me uncomfortable or I don't want to do it do not push me.

My dms are open! If you have ideas and want to do them with me feel free to reach out! I am open to trying other fandoms other than what I have listed, so feel free to suggest things. If I don't know the fandom/haven't finished whatever it is then I will let you know. If is your decision from there whether you wish to continue or find someone better suited.

Communicate with me! I will not know what is going on if you don't communicate. If there's a scene you want to do, if you have to be offline for a while, etc don't be afraid to talk to me! I will do the same.

I welcome any and all identity headcanons except if you make gay characters straight. I often headcanon characters as trans myself.

I am open to ship suggestions, I will tell you if it makes me uncomfortable but if you suggest an obviously problematic ship I will simply block you.

I prefer long responses, but I will try my best to match whatever length you use.

I will not play abusive characters if they are a main character. If they're a side character that is fine, but if they are a main character I won't do it.

I do not have triggers but if you're going to include something that could be triggering please warn me first, it makes me uncomfortable when those kinds of things are suddenly sprung on me.

If you do not follow these rules you will be given a max of three warnings before I will just block you and/or stop replying.
