Happy October Earthly passengers! I’m your guide @mllechartreux and I’ll be accompanying you on your off-world getaway.

A bit about me: this is my first event, my first October as a writer and, I’m from Planet Mors. If you so choose, there is always an open teleportation line to my planet. However, that won’t be one of the destinations on this trip.

Now, on to you guys. Welcome, this is the main deck of my ship. Don’t be alarmed, but as you wake up you might feel a bit sluggish. The sleeping agent should wear off soon, just make sure to stay in your seats as it does. Your bodies are not yet use to the gravity on the ship and I wouldn’t want you to react badly, especially since you’re just about to start your vacation.

For the first time ever, you’ll be enjoying the spooky season away from planet Earth. No need to worry about how you’ll get there, by the time you wake up you’ll have already arrived at your destination. Now, if you’d like a complimentary alarm for your arrival, sign up here, Taglist. Won’t you fill up your passports fast😊. We have 4 destinations in total. You’ll arrive at a new planet, with new ecosystems, new lifeforms and new…customs. You’ll have the entire week to enjoy the planet as you see fit, and while you sleep, you’ll be transported to your next destination. Fear not, because I expect your stay on each planet to be filled with opulence, passion and ecstasy.

I apologize passengers but it seems as though we will have to cut your stay at the final destination short. Hostile situations on Planet Thane have rendered tourism quite dangerous. Food for thought!

If Shouto didn't have a toxic childhood and all is mostly well in his family life, could he have grown up to be similar to Jungkook? (At least personality wise)

I'm just thinking about it as i go through your Jungkook & Shouto posts, and u also mentioned how Shouto would also have the scrunched eyebrow whenever he is eating good food.

that's a good question! i would say yes and no:

yes, because shouto would have gotten the love and support he needed from an early stage in his life to develop into a compassionate, well-rounded adult. the thing that hurts me the most about shouto's backstory is how he never had a normal childhood and his inner child was never seen, never cared for. i wonder if he's been on ferris wheels or rollercoasters. i wonder if he's ever stayed up all night waiting for santa. how were things when he lost his first tooth? i think to a great extent, if shouto had a normal childhood, he'd definitely grow up well. :-) don't forget that shouto and jeongguk are both the youngest in their families. they'll be doted on a lot. but also something tells me that their strict upbringing probably means they won't turn into spoilt brats, though a little bit of teenage defiance is expected during puberty.

but also, no, to some extent. can't remember from where but jeongguk once said "hard work makes you", and i think the hardship shouto has faced his whole life has directly led to this big turning point where he changes drastically as a person. season 1 shouto is cold, distance, prideful. shouto as of now is empathetic, people/friend-first, perceptive, and sweet—not that he wasn't all these things before, but his struggle provided further impetus to change for the better and develop as a person. similarly for jeongguk, i think the tannies have been through a lot (small company, no money, unconventional debut concept, underdogs etc etc) and that's what pushed him to be better. his brothers' struggles are his struggles (as told in Begin), and i think jeongguk wouldn't be the joyful, compassionate man he is today without the tannies.

i think the point i'm trying to make here is that shouto would've grown up well either way. but i like him the way he is now, he's very receptive to others' and his own emotions, and he achieved this version of himself by constantly striving to improve and make a change. while good upbringing could probably lead to a similar result, it wouldn't be the same.

my favourite similarity between gguk and shouto, besides the boba ball roundness and scrunched eyebrows, would be their starry-eyed curiosity for the world. it's cute (☆▽☆) they say jeongguk's living his first life now and i kinda think shouto is, too. i'm proud of them both!!!

Welcome to the first Holiday Event I’ve ever created :D. Valentines Day is right around the corner and I know how lonely it can feel for some of us single people—sometimes we just need to hear that someone is out there thinking of us, loving us. SO, I introduce my Valentines Day Letter Event! The name is pretty self-explanatory, but you can request to receive a love letter from any of your favs! I believe love comes in all forms, so you can receive letters from a lover, friend, or family member, etc, but we’ll get more into that later!

Inspo for this event is from a request I received from @literaryobsession so thank you for the inspiration!

To begin, please read through my request rules PLEASE, but here a few basic rules to know before you request:

Anyone can participate! Whether you follow me or not

Feel free to request as many times as you’d like

SFW only, no NSFW or smut pls—suggestive is okay!

Fem!Reader or Gn!Reader only

All requests will be written as letters (250 to 500 words, I might go over the word limit sometimes tho lol)

Only one character per request

No cheating (no character x reader cheating, but I don’t mind if reader had been cheated on by an outside party and maybe character consoles them, if that makes sense) or maybe there was a misunderstanding and the character is clearing their name through the letter! That’s also fine

Sensitive material is allowed so long as it’s for comfort (TW: depression/suicide/eating disorders, etc; stuff like that is fine)

Character x reader only, I don’t write for character x character

I don’t mind writing angst, but I’d prefer if all my writing had a happy ending 😭

What is your relationship status?: Is this a friend or family member writing to you (platonic) knowing you’re lonely, a crush confessing to you, a partner you just recently started dating, a blind date sending you a letter to tell you how much they enjoyed meeting you and how they wish to know more about you, long-term established relationship, friends with benefits (sfw pls) and he just realized his feelings for you etc—LET ME KNOW whatever it is

What’s the tone of letter?: Full on love letter saying all the things they love about you, comfort letter (specify comfort for what), proposal letter, adoration (not too lovey dovey, but still saying the things they appreciate or like about you) etc…

Select a genre/s (fluff, angst, comfort, modern AU, Soulmate AU, etc)

Location: Is he far from you and mailed this letter to you, do you guys live together, live separately, does he just sneak this letter to you while you’re sleeping or does he hand it to you while he gives you your other gifts? Idk, let me know!

Other info: Just tell me anything specific about you like your age(if you want) appearance/personality/hobbies—anything that you want me to know that might help me write your letter and make it a little more special for you would be great!

Give any specific details of what direction you’d like me to go in with your letter. Be as specific as possible—that would be really helpful :)

Example of how to request: “Hello! Could I request a letter for your Valentines Day Letter Event? I’d like one with Pro!Hero Bakugou with quirkless Fem!Reader please. I’d like if he called me ‘baby’ in the letter! We’re in an established relationship for a few years (maybe we were high school sweethearts and have been together ever since). Tone/Genre: adoration and angst to fluff (ish) where he apologizes for being grumpy and snapping at me the night before and goes in to express how much he cares for me without being too over the top (just subtle). Location: we live together, but he’s always out on hero duty so I hardly see him at home. He left the letter in he kitchen, hung up on the refrigerator and even made breakfast for me before he left and mentions that in the later too, saying to heat it up before I eat it! Other info: We’re both 22, I’m pretty reserved, but he brings me out of my shell and makes me feel very confident in my own skin and adores every part of me no matter how insecure I am about my body. I’m quirkless so I spend most of my time in our home just writing since I’m a writer, and watching animes and kdramas while waiting for him to come back home. Thank you!”

Of course your request doesn’t have to be that long (Ik on a PC/laptop, they limit the amount of words you can type in your request. If that happen, then you can send it in several parts with ‘1/3, 2/3, 3/3’ on each part that you send. Maybe put an emoji or something so I know they all belong to you. But YEAH a heavily detailed request like this example would be IDEAL. :D

All letters will be posted ON Feb 14th! So it gives you something to look forward to :D I’ll be writing them as they come, in advance. And in the meantime if I have time, then I’ll be writing and posting some of my pending regular requests.

The amount of requests I get will determine when I close the requests. If I get a flood of requests then I’ll close them a week before Valentine’s Day on Feb 7 by 11:59pm EST, just so I have time on the 13th to write some more letters and have everything ready by the 14th!

Umm,, i read this fic on Wattpad years ago and i cant find it know i think it was called "her protector" or smt (idk ),

the story is like the princess of (country) was hiding her identity when going to school( wears red wig and glasses i think) , gets bullied amd always fights with the male lead( the son of the duke of that country) and later found out that the princess was the girl from her school amd sworn to protect her.

"Wait"

You holt. Body becoming frozen.

"I need to know," He says, voice sounding hoarse.

"What more do you want" you respond, so drained

"Did you...who...the hotel reservation, who?"

Your humourless laughter comes out before you can control it. Surely, he mustn't have forgotten. You turn to look at him, and you feel the little energy you have left. Leave you.

"Did you really think I would reserve a hotel room, an expensive one at that, to have a FLING...ON OUR ANIVERSERY...I AM NOT YOU"

"I just needed.."

"No you don't get to talk, you're really something you know that. I have been trying tirelessly to get you, to restore us, but what am I supposed to do when you have completely left us. I tried for months, I called marriage therapists, set up appointments. I even went as far as asking for an appointment time from your secretary, just so we could go"

"I didn't.."

"Who do you think Ratcliffe was, that was me. Remember we met in Ratcliffe at that stupid cafe that smelled musty. Heck I went as far as spelling it wrong lyrics like the cafe had done. But you didn't even bother"

"She didn't...I didn't know that was you, if I had known"

"You'd have what, come running? Clearly, your heart had already changed before then."

"Look, if you wanted me to come, you should've said something"

"When?"

"What?"

"When? Between you making trips and barely staying home, besides not picking up my calls. Heck you couldn't even see me when I cam to your office because you had to meet with investors"

"I'm sorry."

"Is that all you have to say? Seriously"

"What more do you want me to say? I can't change the past!"

"I want a divorce, I don't think space will do, I'll send the papers when I get settled"

"Where are you going to go?"

"To the same hotel my supposed lover was supposed to be in"

And with that, you leave the house and order a cab.

~at the hotel~

You step into the hotel entrance and head to wards the receptionist.

"Um reservation under S/N please"

"Of course, one moment....(enter typing sounds)..so it seams you have been upgraded to our presidential suite (insert wink from receptionist)"

"I'm sorry, that won't be necessary. I'm not going to be having any guests, it'll just be me."

"I'm so sorry to hear that, but we will still keep the upgrade, its just that the food..?"

"Don't worry about it. You guys do have an affiliation with the homeless shelters nearby correct?, well if it's surplus, you can always send some there"

"Of course ma'am, here is your room key. Do enjoy your stay"

"Thank you"

Shortly after you are in the elevator headed to wards the top floor. As the doors close, you hear

"WAIT...wait, hold the elevator"

You press the button to keep the doors open, and you're soon joined by a a very tall man.

"Thanks...wait are you Marilyn?"

"Uhh no"

"Sorry, I'm looking for a client. But the receptionist mentioned she was headed up, I guess she took the stairs...haha"

"....yeah..."

You reach your floor, and you immediately step off, you gently drag your bag out.

"Um, goodnight, enjoy your stay"

"Thanks....?"

And the doors close.

*in the elevator*

'She was so quiet, almost as if she just wanted to be invisible'

Two beats later~

'Wait, didn't Terence say he booked an anniversary for today, Heck he even convinced me to do the upgrade."

Phew, home finally.

'I wonder what she is doing, wait, she went to the presidential suite. Does that mean she is the one who booked...what happened to her, why was she alone'

Oohhh thats so interesting to think about - class As fave BTS song. I knew Ojiro is top tier from day 1! I will stick with 134340 for his fave as well! I get Kaminari vibes from Miss Right. Our beloved Spring Day for our equally beloved Shoutoooooooooo (moon and serendipity also suits him). Ddaeng and Daechwita for Bakugo just coz he got that confidence to be confident about himself (he knows he a king for a reason). Black Swan and Anpanman for our cinnamonroll Deku. Idol and Best of Me for Kirishima. Blood, Sweat, and Tears & Intro: Boy meets Evil for Tokoyami because of the drama (he’s a goth and an emo at the same time). Home for Sero. Truth Untold screams Mezo Shoji. Magic Shop and Mikrokosmos for Koda coz i think it comforts him when he’s overwhelmed. Outro: Ego for Aoyama! Watch Sugarman Rikido beat eggwhites to the tune of Ugh! And all the Cyphers in his ult playlist. Iida kun will be Persona but also share sentiments with Mikrokosmos.

For the girlies, hmm Momo is We are Bulletproof the Eternal. Tsuyu is Zero O clock. Uraraka will be into Fly into my room and Dis-ease. Hagakure will be Boy with Luv. Mina is Fake Love. Jirou is Dionysius.

I cannot disrespect BTS by associating them with Mineta. Sorry not sorry. So interested to know your thoughts on this!

Also headcanon: Shouto’s S/O has gotten into the hobby of screaming Shoutoooooo whenever they see each other for the first time every day (to his dismay). They may see each other by the dorms front door on the way to class and their first words to him are “Shoutooooooooo” in a fake deep voice to mimic his dad but oddly enough he never associates it with his father -just his significant other being a cutie. He definitely blushes whenever they do this.

Also hopefully you wouldn’t be pressured by keeping up with your blog. I honestly think you are a great writer and i enjoy your free style! I hope you can think of Tumblr as a safe space to enjoy and fangirl to our hearts contents!

oooo some of your interpretations are quite similar to mine! 😦 not gonna give anything away since i’ll be posting the piece in the next week or so, but i definitely agree with most of what you have — tokoyami would love bangtan’s darker eras, and queen jirou‘s favourite album in general would probably be MOTS7, with its variety of genres 🧐 etc etc + bakugou would be the biggest rapline supremacist

(may i reluctantly propose… war of hormone for mineta 🧐)

Would you guys kill me if I did a special event for Valentine’s Day where you could send in a request to get a letter from your favs that I write for? I got a request for one already and it gave me this idea, but I know I have a lot of requests pending and you guys are probably annoyed that I keep stalling with more events and stuff 😭. Christmas Special: Day 12

A/N: Taehyung’s girlfriend in this story is definitely not Admin Belle. Not at all. You’re crazy.

Ever since you were little, you dreamed of becoming a hero just like your brother: Tidal wave. He’s one of the current Top 10 heroes in the country - Top 50 in the world - and has saved over thousands of people! You remember when he was starting out as a hero in training, the days where he would come home and practice in the backyard and break another vase your grandmother kept lying around on the porch. Even with the training he received he still had a long way to go, but overtime, you saw the skills he acquired to become a better version of himself for others, and you watched him grow into the hero you know today.

And that one summer evening when you were 10, and he was out on patrol for the night, he had become your sole guardian without even knowing until he received the call from the hospital. You were finishing up your homework in you room when you heard the banging on the stairs, and when you got up to see what it was you’d found your grandmother lying at the bottom of the stairs. You called for an ambulance with tears in your eyes as you willed her to wake up and just hold on until help could arrive, but she passed before they could get her into a hospital room. You had been heartbroken and almost completely cleaned out of tears when your brother had turned up, but seeing Taehyung rush in with his hero costume on in the same panic you had been in, you couldn’t help but burst into tears once more. You remember throwing yourself into his embrace in an attempt to comfort yourself, but you can also remember how he held you just as tightly in an attempt to comfort himself as well.

It’s been 5 years since then, and the both of you have grown a lot. Taehyung secured his spot on the Top 10 list, he’s enrolled in college, he learned how to bake 4 batches of cookies in 2 hours without burning your house down, and he met a girl. You were surprised when he decided 3 years ago he still wanted to continue his education in case the situation should occur that he needs to retire from hero work, and you completely supported his decision since he’s always been supportive of you.

What you never counted on was him meeting Ara.

Admittedly, you were skeptical at first, being nothing that you would have expected from Tae’s previous relationships - then again, that’s probably why they’ve lasted more than 6 months at this point. She wasn’t mean or anything, but she was much different than any of the other girls. See, most of the girls Taehyung has ever dated have been a bit ditsy, to say the least; Ara was blunt and to the point about what she wanted. Most of these girls had super flashy powers that locked your brother into their grasps; Ara had nothing special about her except for her wit, charm, and her strange obsession with comics and video games that also captured your brother’s heart. The other girls treated you very kindly when they would meet you, but they were just too caught up in his looks to actually pull you into the equation. They wanted his attention to always be on them, and they usually left after they realized they wouldn’t be Taehyung’s main priority while he had you.

But Ara was a total 180 from them.

When he mentioned he took care of his younger sister to her, she immediately demanded to meet you. And when she showed up before you had decided to leave your Toothless onsie from How To Train You Dragon with the ears and tail attached, she vowed that she’d only continue dating him if she got to cuddle you - his “precious and adorable little sister” - when she came over to visit. Dates to the amusement park became a group trip where he was the third wheel instead of you, because his girlfriend loved both of you - but you always teased that she loved you more. She took on the role of a female figure in your life that Taehyung couldn’t fill after your Grandmother’s passing, and that’s probably what made Taehyung fall in love with her even more. They’d seen you off to your first date together, they’d watched your first heartbreak together, and they were there to celebrate your graduation from middle school together.

And when it came time, they helped you prepare yourself for your first year at the Big Hit Academy For Bulletproof Youths.

This academy was for the big leagues, and it was the same school your brother had attended at your age to become the amazing superhero he is today. Everyone you knew wanted to go to school here, and almost every Top Hero in the country studied at this prestigious school to get to where they are. You had every intention to be just like them, and you spent everyday training with your fellow classmates to ensure that you’d make your brother as proud as he made you.

You excelled in the classroom, always studying when you got the chance and even texting Ara for help with anything you were unsure of. In training, you always made sure to take note of your surroundings and study your opponent before you made a move, and that wit and quick thinking you have are what keep you at the top of your game. But most importantly, you always made sure to keep in the good graces of your fellow classmates. You could get as far as you wanted, but if you didn’t keep connections, then you wouldn’t get anywhere in this world. Taehyung was very specific when he gave you tips to stay above water in a school like the one you were attending, and he was very specific that this was the one piece of advice you couldn’t ignore. As always, he was right to do so.

Now, as the summer turns into fall, it’s time that everyone gets their upgraded costumes for the winter. You remember designing these costumes with Ara. She insisted that she be the one to help you, and that Taehyung would be no fun about your creative desires since he insists on a “dress check” before you leave the house every morning. Taehyung himself was not thrilled to be locked out of the room while the two of you worked on the designs, but something Ara said to him while you were working was enough to get him to sit on the living room couch with a pout as he angrily watched Finding Nemo instead. His pink hair and childish ways would make anyone think that he were the child of the house instead of you, but with Ara’s baby blue hair and her own childish attitude to go with his, there was no doubt they were a match made in heaven.

The costume you wear now was one that made everyone turn their heads. Not for its beauty or intricacy, but because you looked like a volleyball player with a tool belt and a stick taller than you. Unlike your brother, you had a genetic mutation with your quirk. Instead of the water manipulation that your brother had, you could manipulate anything; You had telekinesis. Nothing new, but powers weren’t always something special. It was how you used said powers that made you a good hero. The simple shirt and shorts concept made sure you were comfortable and wouldn’t be constricted by your costume. Your tool belt gave you extra tools in case you found yourself in a situation where you couldn’t manipulate anything else. Your ‘stick’ as everyone referred to it was actually retractable, and you kept it on you much longer than just at school. Whenever the situation came that you would manipulate yourself to float for a few seconds, you could extend your stick to push yourself or the danger away with a distance in between. But should it fail, you had your knee and elbow pads to take some of the damage.

Even so, you had faith that your costume design for the winter would be a hit compared to the one you wear now. So when you pull it out to find that it was less clothing than what you wore now, you were shocked. Your new costume was supposed to be a pair of black harem baggy joggers with pockets on your thighs, white knee pads to go on top, and a chain long enough that you could also use for long distance attacks. Your shirt was supposed to be a white short sleeve with a black cropped jacket with a fur lining, and a pair of white elbow pads to go with it.

What you pulled out was nothing that you would have ever put on your design sheet, and you know for a fact you didn’t. They had made you another pair of black shorts with a chain connected to it and mint green knee pads, your shirt was nowhere to be seen - only the cropped jacket with fur - and red elbow pads. Your more conventional snow boots weren’t even in the case you received, just a pair of dainty heeled boots instead. To say you were mortified was an understatement, and you were not about to put the monstrosity on.

You raise your hand and gain the attention of your half asleep teacher, “Mr. Min! They’ve made my costume wrong! I can’t wear this for winter, I’ll freeze faster than water!”

“You can file for them to replace it with the correct one, but you’ll have to wear it for training in the meantime.” He sighs, pulling the forms out of the top drawer of his desk without even blinking an eye,

Now, almost two weeks into December and snow lying on the ground, you were still stuck with the same costume you’ve filed to be replaced 7 times already. Your friends had been entertained the first few times you were forced to wear the monstrosity during your classes, but as the weeks drug on and you’d be starting your internship at an agency in a few days, they started to feel bad that nobody was answering your requests for the costume change. They were starting to get as upset as you were, and Taehyung was probably the most upset by this. He saw your costume during a festival, and he was ready to beat your ass and Ara’s for keeping it from him.

“How could you let that go?!” Taehyung demands, gesturing to you and your provocative costume while glaring at his just as equally confused girlfriend.

Ara was not about to go down for a crime she did not commit, “I didn’t do this! I helped her design a wholesome costume that God, Jesus, and Mr. Rodgers would approve of! This is blasphemy!”

The two continue their conversation, Ara swearing on God and doughnuts that she would never let you wear anything like that until you were at least 18. You’re classmates are left in confusion, “These are your care-takers?”

“Yeah...they are…” You sigh, your arms wrapped around yourself.

But now you were at the point where you just had to suck it up, no matter how much you hated it. Thankfully, you had at least one friend joining you in the field, even if Jin did make dad jokes at the worst times.

“How do you get a squirrel to like you? Act like a nut!” Jin says, bursting into his laugh that sounds way too close to a windshield wiper. He was a gravity manipulator, so you both thought interning together would be a good chance to help each other expand on your quirks. Only now, you regret having his bright demeanor when you just want to curl into a ball. “Wait wait wait, I’ve got another one...Why don’t eggs tell jokes?”

“Why don’t egg-“ “They’d crack each other up!” He yells, interrupting you before you could ask why. He laughs at himself until he catches your bored expression, “What’s wrong? You usually like my jokes.”

You sigh, “Don’t get me wrong, Jin. I love your jokes, but I’m not exactly in the best of moods right now.”

“That’s why I started to tell you my jokes!” He defends. When you just shrug, he takes a look at your dainty costume compared to his own long sleeved, long pants, and large coat that still allowed him to move freely as he needed to. You looked ten times more miserable than he did. “Your costume must really be uncomfortable.”

“It’s below freezing and I’m wearing shorts with a crop top. What do you think?” You spit with no regard for his feelings.

“Sorry.” He apologizes, looking away to the path ahead of you. You sigh, “No, I’m sorry. You were only trying to help and I was rude for no reason.”

As you both get back to your patrol, you turn the corner and approach a shop that’s crowded by a group of men outside. One of them catches sight of you, “Hey, cutie! You looking to warm up with someone special this year?”

“Such a pretty thing~ Why don’t you come inside and I’ll buy you a nice warm drink?” Another jests, looking at every piece of you except for your face.

“A drink for me? You boys are really something else nowadays~ I hate to break it to you fellas, but I’m spoken for already!” Jin calls back with an award winning smile. He shrugs off his coat and throws it over your shoulders, followed by his arm that pulls you as close to him as he can manage without breaking the happy facade he’s putting up, “Good luck finding someone more beautiful than me!”

The men look disgusted and confused, but they decide to ignore the both of you as Jin leads you far away. You’re almost back to your agency when you finally speak up again, “Thanks Jin.”

“It’s the holiday season, and all they can think about is shouting obscenely at women. If I saw anyone shout at my mother or my future daughter like that, then I would have decked him square in the mouth.” He admits, sounding like a completely different person than you had just witnessed, “I just figured you would like it better if there wasn’t any confrontation at all.”

“Well, you were right. I can’t wait to get out of this costume and into my sweater.” You sigh, already seeing the agency doors at the end of the block. You look up to Jin out of the corner of your eye, “But I did enjoy the looks on their faces when you thanked them for their offer.”

“And I gave up that offer to continue our patrol together. Honestly, I think someone owes me a meal.” He suggests. He turns to you with a shy smile and squeezes your shoulder a little, “Maybe I could take you out after this?”

“I’d love to, but I have dinner planned tonight with my brother and his girlfriend.” You say. Jin looks a little disappointed, and you can’t help but smile, “But I know Ara wouldn’t mind feeding an extra mouth.”

Jin looks happy, but a sudden thought has him looking concerned, “And your brother?”

“He’ll get over it when I tell him about the date you gave up for me.” You shrug.

And you were right about that indeed. When you showed up at your door with Jin next to you - both of you wrapped in your coats and his arm over your shoulder - Taehyung was ready to brawl if you wouldn’t have sent a warning text to Ara. She had her arms wrapped around your brothers torso to keep him from moving without her, effectively slowing him down enough for you to get Jin inside and showing him the house. (You would have shown him your room where you kept your gaming PC, but Taehyung would actually murder both you and Ara if it meant no more boi.) By the time you got to the dinner table, Taehyung had calmed down enough to listen to your day and warm up to Jin just enough to have an actual conversation instead of an interrogation.

He liked him. You could tell.

And you weren’t surprised when they became the best of friends at the next dinner you invited him to.
