Killer Croc's little bro was apparently in Gotham.
How did everyone know? Because he was seen physically dragging said older brother out of the sewers and into the nearest cafe.
And Killer Croc was just. So docile??? He was shy, a bit nervous, amused, and was practically harmless. Which wasn't something anyone would have associated with Killer Croc.
And the fact that said little bro can lift him up easily too? What kind of parents did they have for their son to be able to lift up the Killer Croc so easily?
Meanwhile, Jack just doesn't get why everyone reacts negatively to his big brother, it's not like he was a ghost for goodness sake and yea he's working on not being like he was before his son revealed himself to be part ghost, but still.
His brother was still human, just extra.
Why did Jack come to Gotham? He was kinda maybe forced out the house to go and find his brother because he liked talking about him but never actually went out to find him.
Jack and Croc may be half-brothers, yes, but he's still family.
Jack strongarms Killer Croc into not living in, well, the sewers and at his house he bought when he came to Gotham and they both caught up with each other's lives. Jack told Croc about his family, and by extension the shit views he's had on ghost because it was a major part in their family dynamics, and Croc told him about his own life in Gotham.
Minus the more gruesome, parts.
Killer Croc lives with him for a while and notices that he didn't really seem to care for his life. Which is a major no to Croc, who tries to get him to gain some amount of self-preservation, yes he knows that his little bro is more durable than the average human has any right to be but please for the sake of your big bro's heart, please take care of yourself.
Jack is a bit floored by this, and tries to wave it off as a non-issue. But if Jack can strongarm Croc into living with him, then Croc can definitely strongarm Jack into things as well.
Busting through walls is fine, alright. He gets it, it's very fun. But please don't stick random things into your mouth that can kill you, nor follow strangers down an alleyway and shrug off a stabbing (Killer Croc had some choice words and actions for the person who did such a thing.), and please, please practice stranger danger, little bro. Please.
No, he doesn't give two, three, four, five or ten fucking shits if you have microsurgeons in your blood that gives you a superhuman healing factor, you can still feel pain little bro, and stop skipping meals and sleep to work on your inventions! No, you cannot substitute either for energy drinks!
The batfam keep an eye on the two brothers and find it to just be the both of them strongarming the other into healthy behaviors basically. (With a lot of verbal and physical "I love you"'s, the Batfam could NEVER. slash joke teehee.)

listen i know we all love steve “completely ignorant of queer culture to the point that bisexuality is a surprise” harrington being roasted and educated in turns by robin and eddie, yadda yadda, good stuff. i read “they made a horror version of rocky?” in a fic recently and cackled. also a big fan of “he knew he was bi from the start and just never talked about it” as a trope, love it excellent well done
but what about steve who realizes after starcourt that the most important person in his life now has this thing that’s a major part of her life that he knows nothing about, and what if he fucks it up? what if he says something ignorant or rude by accident, and hurts her? what if he loses her because he didn’t know the right thing to say? what if he can’t keep her safe because he doesn’t know what to look out for? absolutely fucking not, this steve says
and listen she’d never say anything, because she can tell that he can tell how much she likes teasing him and teaching him things, so he plays dumb, and she thinks it’s very sweet. but she notices when the zines she keeps under her bed that she buys at that one secret bookshop in indy when she can sneak away on family trips start going missing, always one at a time, and replaced in a few days with another disappearing. and she finds the new ones he must have gone to buy the weekend she was at her aunt’s house hidden in the back of his closet when she goes to steal one of his sweaters. and she notices when he slips more of her queerer movie recommendations into his personal take home pile rather than the movie night stack when he thinks she’s not looking.
she doesn’t notice when he drives to indianapolis after she tries to explain to him why she can’t just ask out a cute girl, tries to impress on him the fear attached to every moment of attraction that he simply has never had to feel, but later she finds a crumpled receipt from a diner in one of his jacket pockets when she’s looking for his keys, and the address is across the street from the bar the gorgeous woman at the bookstore told her about, the one she memorized the address of but hasn’t worked up the guts to think about visiting, and she knows he must have gone looking for a place like that, must have been trying to understand, must have been scoping it out to make sure it was somewhere she could feel safe, after she told him she never had.
so when eddie nearly pops a blood vessel when they clock each other and she mentions that steve is the only person she’s ever come out to before, her hackles come up. because she gets it, she does, he’s only known king steve until recently, so it makes sense that he would be afraid, be concerned for her safety.
but steve is her person, and no one- no one- has ever made her feel as protected or as cared for as he does. no one has ever tried as hard to understand her, no one has ever put so much work into making her feel safe and seen and loved. and she thinks maybe even if no one else ever does, that’s ok. because she has steve, and more importantly steve has her, and that means no one gets to question his ally credentials in her presence without a dressing down to remember, no matter how well they mean or how recently they helped save the world.
(and maybe she’s not as surprised as she could be when he figures out bisexuality all on his own, because she’s been reading all the same pamphlets he has, after all. and she’s seen the way he looks at eddie, i mean come on. maybe no one else has noticed, but then, nobody knows steve harrington like she does.)

I saw a post once talking about a bingqiu scott pilgrim au where LBH had to fight all of SQQ's suitors, which is a cool concept and all, but have you considered the comedic potential and insanity of a bingyuan Scott pilgrim au where SY has to defeat LITERALLY HUNDREDS of bingge's exes??

So is nobody gonna talk about the dying triton telling the CHAMPION OF THE UNDERSEA "you abandoned us" with his hands bound together in prayer impaled on a HOOK right before Gillion regresses to his soldier mindset???

Steve tries to not take up space. He tries so incredibly hard to not exist too much in someone else's space. He avoids occupying even his own space. The house he's supposed to be living in, is barely lived in at all, and his bedroom looks like an interior design ad straight out of an outdated magazine.
He doesn't have many things to physically take up space either. He's got like two books, one from Robin and one from Eddie, a couple photos that he shoves into his wallet when he decided that he would rather live in his car than his own house, and a coffee mug that was a joint gift from all the kids that said "world's best grandma" on it.
A lot of the clothes he had ended up at Robin's or Eddie's. And Steve swore he would get them at some point, but before he could do anything, Robin microfolds half of her own clothes and makes a space in her drawer for Steve's clothes.
Steve just thinks that she likes to steal his sleep shirts.
The clothes left at Eddie's get washed by Wayne and they just end up in Eddie's dresser.
Eddie steals Steve's sleep shirts too. He says they're comfortable and Steve just tells him to avoid smoking in them.
His books end up sitting on Eddie's bedside table, next to the weird little container Eddie keeps his rings in.
Steve loses his coffee mug to the Munson kitchen cabinet, and he finds it on a Sunday morning before he has to go to work.
It was nestled between two stacked pink plastic cups, and Wayne's ridiculously old portable mug.
He knows for a fact that Eddie had to have seen it in his car, taken it inside and washed it with last night's dishes.
And he almost cried, he didn't, but the sound he made was close enough to a choked off sob that it got Eddie's attention, who had been sitting on the couch, watching something with the muppets in it, and chewing on a metal spoon.
Eddie almost tripped rushing over to Steve, and Steve didn't say anything, he just pointed between Eddie and the cabinet, and pointedly ignored the wetness in his eyes, before Eddie reached his arms out and Steve just fell into them.
He would have been embarrassed, but Eddie had on hand in his hair and one on his back and Steve just says thank you, over and over again, like a mantra.
And Eddie was probably confused and concerned, but he just kept telling Steve it's okay, and he just kept holding onto him.

It may be that if you had always been rejected by those you liked or you got to do things you really didn't feel like in order to not being left out (but still ended up alone), you may now fear being yourself and being seen for real. You may have learned from that experience that no matter what, there's something wrong in you and you may have (even unconsciously) tried to hide from others in any way you could. Maybe you also started to unconsciously either search for more people that would possibly reject you for various reasons (so that if one day you found one and they didn't reject you, you could feel enough) or you started to like people secretly, or people that are "unreachable" to you and you don't have to deal with in your everyday life, so that they could not reject you.
But there's nothing wrong in you. It's just that we cannot be appreciated and accepted by everyone (or by all the people we'd like to), and that some relationships are not the ones for us. Plus, there may also be a problem of having different outlooks and ideas coming in between, or issues that are not compatible among each others. Whatever may be the reason, it won't always be like that. Don't be afraid of being yourself, of sticking to your values, of being seen for who you are and of receiving a no. It will hurt ofc, but it doesn't mean that you're not worthy or lovable in your entirety or by the whole world: you just didn't click with that person/people and that's okay. There are hundreds of others willing and waiting to click with you. Give yourself and them a chance.
