A head canon I have for Jason is that his favorite rogue is Bookworm. Bookworm was really only ever in the 60’s show so he’s never canonically fought Jason to my knowledge but he’s basically the Riddler but for books instead of riddles. Any time Bookworm and Jason fight it basically devolves into book club so just like
I’m imagining Jason goes for his first battle with Bookworm as Red Hood and his comms cut out mid fight so Dick and Bruce run in for backup
And they kick down the door to try and free Jason
Only to see Jason and Bookworm sitting on the floor, drinking wine, and talking about the subtextual queer coding in Jane Eyre
yeah and he 100% gives him the same kind of treatment the bats give harley (in my head). knows he's harmless and will only act out if provoked, so he gives him the benefit of the doubt + trusts him to live freely 97% of the time. (he was also single-handedly the person who protested against him being put in arkham asylum for the rest of his life)
he genuinely meets up with bookworm over coffee, although partially to check in on him and make sure he's not going to begin a 100+ murder rampage again, he's also just having a chat with a friend about the book he recommended to him last time he had to hunt him down... and the political state of the world.
when he does find himself locked up, whether that be in a ward or arkham, although jason doesn't always visit (business and all) he always makes sure the facilities can provide him with something suitable to read.
news gets out to the bats about bookworm having a breakdown and going off the radar, and jason's more insistent than he's ever been when he says he's going after him alone. he truly believes he isn't evil by nature, and knows that all it takes to bring him down is a familiar face and a well-read intellectual conversation.
naturally when jason's out of reach and bruce + dick are tasked with stopping bookworm, they think it's going to be a piece of cake considering what they know about jason's history with catching him. but god are they so wrong. they get him in the end of course, but really have to take a second and ask themselves how the fuck jason not only enjoys working bookworm shifts, but has completely TAMED a rogue like that.

I'm not getting over the fact that people used to complain that Bruce and Dick were "homosexual propaganda". Like.. you see a 12 year old boy and a grown ass man and the fact THAT THEY ARE TWO MEN IS THE PROBLEM?
"I can excuse pedophilia, but I draw the line at homosexual propaganda!"
"You can excuse pedophilia?!"

If I had a nickel for every time I drew Tim insisting that Jason is a good person I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s sad that it’s happened twice.
anyways have some de-aged Tim angst

AU where Damian feels really bad for hurting Tim but won't admit it out loud, so he goes into over protective mode.

i hear your constantly sleep deprived tim drake. allow me to raise you one sleep deprived BUT prone to napping/passing out tim drake.
after a 72 hour mission, with no sleep, tim finishes up his report at the bat computer, stands up, takes three steps to the left, and curls into a ball on the floor and sleeps right there. Bruce finds him and moves him to somewhere more comfy.
alternatively, when he’s stressed and doesn’t want anyone to bother him, Tim finds the most inconvenient, out of sight place to nap so he can get back to work once he’s done. unfortunately sometimes he gets caught.
Jason: Why is Tim in the tea cabinet?
Dick: He’s tired, leave him be. I think this is the first time he’s slept in like two days.
———
Damian: Father, why is Drake currently unconscious in the cave under the medical gurneys?
Bruce: He likes it there.
———
i just like the idea that the family just rolls with it and accepts it as one of his many quirks. maybe even young justice gang gets in on it and is like oh yeah that’s tim for ya.

I like to think that Tim’s parents never let him grow his hair out and when he moves into Wayne manor he’s mildly terrified that they’ll make him cut his hair too, and is amazed when they don’t. He damn near has a panic attack the first time someone sees that it’s getting long and asks if he wants to get it cut. But they never make him cut it, not even when it’s long enough put in a ponytail.
I have this fic scene in my head where someone, maybe Damian once he’s warmed up to Tim, starts bleaching his hair in his sleep as a prank and he has a full blown panic attack. He attacks the heck out of whoever’s doing it and starts hyperventilating when someone grabs him and holds him back.
ok i love long hair!tim as much as the next person (fuck batman: arkham knight) but oh do i love the idea that he never really gets to explore that part of himself until he moves into wanye manor.
like imagine you've got this poor little kid, who's terrified of so many things that he should just. not be scared of (tim w/no rational fears + tim w/all the non-rational fears). retaliating to a suggestion of a haircut being one of them.
he's moved into this new place where the people are more accepting and willing to show love than anyone in his life has ever been. he's slowly but surely learning to undo all the past notions he holds about what would happen if he 'disobeyed' or made honest mistakes. but among the few things he just can't let go off, it's this whole thing about his hair.
so when bruce makes some offhand comment about 'we should probably take you to the barbers at some point' and tim completely freezes next to him, he stops and asks '..do you want to get your hair cut?' and when tim can't even open his mouth to give his honest answer, bruce just shrugs his shoulders and says 'no big deal, just let me or alfred know if you ever do'. tim is gobsmacked.
his head reels wondering why he wasn't scolded for not agreeing, or had his silence taken as 'wanting to look feral', and reprimanded for that as well. i don't think he really accepts it as completely okay right then and there though.
he takes it more a warning that they're noticing his hair's length, and that it will certainly need to be cut when they pay enough attention to see it again. so he styles it to look as short as he can get it, and wears a lot of hats for the time being. until one day when it's well and truly at his shoulders, alfred comments 'your hair looks nice today master timothy', and it takes tim just more than a split second to realise the compliment was genuine. i think that's when he lets the fear go.
although that doesn't stop him from freaking out when a villain's weapon slices through or yanks out some of his hair, or when he's in a vulnerable enough state (tired, hurt, etc) and someone mentions cutting his hair. the fear might not be there constantly lingering in the back of his head anymore, but it definitely pops up when he least expects it to.

I like to imagine that if any of the Bat-Kids are out in public, whether they be getting food, shopping, patrolling, just walkin' around, whatever, that if they see the Bat-Signal pop on it's an unspoken rule between the siblings that they have to throw on their costume and try and find/deal with the trouble before Bruce gets there. Just to annoy him.
Batman: "Commissioner Gordon! I got here as fast as I could.. What's the situation?"
Commissioner Gordon: "Oh, Batman, thank you for coming.. It's alright, though, it's already been taken care of by these fellows."
*Gestures to the side where there's a couple of muggers sitting tied up next to Nightwing(He has pink, glittery shopping bags hanging all over his arms), Red Hood(He's rummaging through the bags Nightwing is holding, trying to find the black nail polish he just bought to touch up his nails after the fight), Red Robin(He's sipping a cup of coffee that he accidentally stole because he ran out of the cafe so quickly that he forgot to pay), and Robin(He's chowing down on a kids' meal from Bat-Burger)*
Batman: ...
Batman: *Subtle annoyed glare*
