Miracle Of The Season — J.JK
Tumblr media
STORY SUMMARY: Cast out of Heaven after a painful betrayal, you find yourself having to navigate the intricacies of human life without any guidance from the Creator or the family you have always known. Things only get worse as the holiday season reaches its peak, with reminders of the life you left behind everywhere you look. When a familiar face pops up, you aren’t sure whether to consider it a blessing or a curse.
PAIRING: Angel Jungkook x Fallen Angel F!Reader
RATING/GENRE: M ; angst, fluff, smut ; second chance romance, angel AU, soulmate AU
WORD COUNT: 17.2k
WARNINGS: Heavy themes of religious trauma, an initially negative view of Christianity transforming into a more neutral/respectful view of individual faiths, initial dismissal of other religions, difficult self-growth journey, homelessness, very brief mentions of murder and rape
OTHER/NSFW WARNINGS: Sharing one-bed trope (kinda), mistletoe trope (teehee), first time, fingering, cunnilingus, hand job, unprotected sex
A/N: This is a lot. The story definitely got away from me, but I think that's because there was so much I wanted to say. I definitely could have made this longer, and if I had time/wasn't such a slow writer, I probably would have. It's a heavy topic, but it's one that is near and dear to my heart and one that I think a lot of people can relate to. If you do, I hope this story feels a bit healing.
A/N 2: This is based on the vibes of his song "Standing Next To You" and the m/v for it.
LINKS: Part of the Jingle All The Way! collab with my talented, wonderful friends. Cross-posted on AO3 and (eventually) Wattpad. Banner made by the lovely @kithtaehyung.

"—let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!"
You take a deep, calming breath as you pass the carolers. Their cheerful voices grate on your nerves, but you keep your head down and continue walking. Lashing out at them won't do any good, even if it might give you a moment of satisfaction. It's not like they're the source of your irritation anyway; the crowded streets are abuzz with the unrelenting chaos of the Christmas season, and you have been on edge all morning.
Turning a corner, you enter a street closer to the shelter you have been calling home for the past year and a half. Immediately, some of your tension dissipates, and you feel like you can breathe a bit easier. There are fewer lights here and less noise, but a few decorations still attract your attention, like a moth to a flame. A nativity scene is proudly displayed in someone's window, and you stop dead in your tracks.
"Freedom of religion, my ass," you mutter bitterly as you tear your gaze away. Why does everyone and their mother seem to celebrate this stupid holiday?
You know that for many, Christmas isn’t necessarily a holy season. Some humans just use the holiday as an excuse to wear obnoxious sweaters, play the same song on repeat, and spoil one another with gifts. Yet reminders of the celestial realm, of the life you have been cast out from, are everywhere. The nativity, for one. Then there are the carolers singing their songs, and the cartoonish cherub decals that can be found on shop windows, holding banners that proclaim, “Buy one, get one 20% off!” Even the name of the holiday is marked by one of His monikers. Christmas.
It makes you sick.
The weather doesn't help, either. Drawing your coat more tightly around yourself, you try to ignore the relentless chill that settles deep in your bones. You’re definitely not dressed warmly enough, ill-prepared considering the sensation of being cold is something you’re still getting used to. It is yet another item you have added to your ever-growing list of "whys.” The question of why God created snow joins the ranks of "why did He make spiders?" and "why is He the most selfish being in existence?"
You sniff. Perhaps you let your emotions get the best of you at times.
Emotions. Another thing that’s somewhat new. As an angel, you didn’t really have those. The only thing you ever thought about was following orders and how better you could praise His name. Ugh. It’s hard to believe now that you were ever so single-minded. Though, towards the end, you suppose that wasn’t the case. It all went awry when you started this “list” of yours—when you started questioning things.
The moment that doubt had first crept into your mind seems like a lifetime ago. Reaching the status of archangel was something you had been working toward for millennia. It was a position that allowed you to work more closely with humanity; you were able to actually guide their paths and alter their destiny.
At first, it was everything you had ever wanted. The miracles that occurred because of your intervention made you feel like you were doing something worthwhile. But you quickly learned that not all of your missions would be quite as fulfilling.
You will never forget the first time you were put in charge of administering a holy test. The man had done nothing wrong, yet your higher-ups still insisted that he needed to be "tried by fire." The divine reasons were beyond comprehension, or so you were told. But watching the man suffer as everything he loved was taken from him, seeing the desperation and despair in his eyes… It felt wrong. That feeling stayed with you even as you watched the man's faith remain unbroken. Somehow, that made it worse.
And then there were those who committed sinful acts and escaped punishment. You saw murderers and rapists living their lives in peace while innocent souls suffered unjustly at their hands. The scales of justice seemed unfairly balanced, and you began to feel crushed by the weight of your guilt.
Thus, the degradation process began. For the longest time, you thought it was a myth, a scary story told to keep angels in line. If you doubt, if you disobey, you begin withering away into nothingness. You'll start to feel things, to lose your sense of purpose. It will be painful and overwhelming and, eventually, you'll cease to exist entirely. You were told that if it were to happen, you must report it to a superior at once. But you were terrified.
There was only one person you trusted enough to share the way you were feeling—your other half, your celestial counterpart. The one who knew you like no other did. Your Astrom, Jungkook.
There is an old celestial folk tale that documents the first creation of an Astrom pair. It is said God took one star and split it into two. Neither half could live without the other, nor would they want to. It is difficult to describe the way you felt for him, as angels are devoid of personal desires or emotions as humans experience them. It was simply as if being with him was as natural as breathing. He was the only being other than the Creator that you felt beholden to, that you admired.
When you first revealed your doubts to him, he simply listened, displaying a level of patience that you found comforting. He answered your questions about morality, about justice as best he could, trying to reassure you that everything happened for a reason. Yet no matter how persuasively he argued, your doubts wouldn't go away.
Eventually, you began to start contemplating letting yourself fall from grace. The thought was terrifying, but at the same time, there was a certain allure to it. To Fall meant to renounce your celestial responsibilities, and that included no longer having to inflict pain on innocent souls.
When you confessed this dangerous thought to him, Jungkook gave you a look that you couldn't decipher. All you remember is what he said next: "If you Fall, I shall Fall with you."
His words had been unexpected, and you didn’t know whether to take comfort in them or not. You didn’t want him to share your fate, to bear the burden of your guilt. Could you live with yourself if he Fell too? The answer was an obvious no. But the mere thought of being alone in your struggle was something you couldn’t stomach either. So, you attempted to keep your dissent to a minimum and perform your duties as required. But it wasn’t long before everything fell apart regardless.
Eventually, you were discovered and brought before the celestial court. You were accused of blasphemy since questioning Him was an unforgivable sin and sentenced to Fall, to be cast out from the life you have always known. Yet, the real blow came when you found out who had betrayed you.
Jungkook.
Your Astrom.
The one you had trusted implicitly, the other half of your celestial star, had betrayed you in the name of divine loyalty. The pain of the Fall, the feeling of your grace ripped from your body, the scorching burn of your wings as they turned to ash—none of this could compete with the raw, gut-wrenching anguish of his betrayal.
Even now, months later, remembering makes you feel as if you can't breathe, as if you might die. Every memory of him is like a punch to the gut, and the city, so full of noise and life, does nothing to drown out the agony. Some days, the pain is so vivid and unbearable that it feels as though you are Falling all over again.
A rough shove against your shoulder makes you stumble, and the man who ran into you barely grunts out an apology before continuing past. At least the disruption is a timely one, allowing you to pull yourself out of your thoughts before you spiral. There’s no point focusing on the past when there’s nothing you to do to change it, especially not when you have a myriad of new human concerns to deal with.
Your job hunt was, once again, unsuccessful. You keep telling yourself that it’s because it’s so close to the holidays and you’ll have a better chance once the new year comes. In reality, you’re sure it’s because you have no experience, no schooling, and no useful knowledge.
At least you’re familiar enough with the city now that zoning out didn’t prevent you from getting to your destination.
Lost Star Shelter.
The place you’ve been calling home. It’s certainly not perfect, but little on Earth ever is. You feel awful stepping past the crowd of people waiting outside its doors, knowing that they, like you, have nowhere else to go. You've been fortunate enough to secure your spot due to your volunteering efforts and the fact that the manager, Naomi, seems to have taken a liking to you. But not everyone is so lucky.
You step inside, greeted by the familiar smells of disinfectant and something cooking in the kitchen. The place is buzzing with activity as usual—mothers trying to soothe crying children, elderly folks chatting away in groups, and a few lone souls quietly scrawling job applications.
"Long day?" Naomi catches your gaze from behind the front desk, her warm smile a stark contrast to the weariness etched in the lines of her face.
"Isn't it always?" You head over and pick up the clipboard she slides toward you, scanning your list of tasks for the day. As expected, it's long hours of mindless labor, but you don't mind. Not only do you need to earn your place here, but volunteering gives you a sense of purpose similar to your previous heavenly duties. And you have the satisfaction of knowing you're actually helping, not harming.
"First on the list," Naomi points to an item at the top of your clipboard, "is the donations room. We just had a big drop-off and could use some extra hands sorting through it all. But grab some dinner before you start, okay?"
You nod, her straightforward nature getting a slight smile out of you. "Yes, ma'am."
You navigate your way towards the crowded dining area, where a line of people has formed, waiting for their turn to get served. The cooks, all volunteers like yourself, are bustling about, serving portions of the day's meal which looks to be a thick stew accompanied by fresh bread. The food is simple but hearty, more than enough to keep you working through the evening. You make a mental note to slip into the kitchen later and thank them for their hard work.
You find an empty seat at one of the long tables that occupy the space, making yourself at home amongst the people who are engrossing themselves in their meals or with idle chatter. You even join in on a conversation with some older women across the table, who are engaged in a spirited debate about soap operas. Your knowledge of pop culture is sparse at best, but they seem delighted to fill you in on the latest drama, their laughter infectious.
After your meal, you make your way towards the donations room. The sight of piled-up clothes, toys, blankets, and other items is both overwhelming and heartwarming. Naomi wasn't kidding when she said they'd received a large drop-off. It's a daunting task, but you roll up your sleeves and get to work. You start by sorting through the clutter, meticulously separating everything into various categories—men's clothes, women's clothes, children's clothes, etc., and items that need repairs or cleaning. Hours pass by unnoticed, the rhythm of work almost meditative.
Your thoughts inevitably wander back to Jungkook. A pang of longing shoots through you. He was the one who would always be by your side when you had to perform menial tasks like this in the celestial realm. You wonder what he would think of your new life. Does he look down on you from up high with pity or disdain, or does he simply not think of you at all? You aren't sure if you even want to know the answer.
As time wears on, the room gradually becomes less cluttered and more organized. You're just about to take a break when Naomi appears at the doorway, her aging features softened by the warm glow of the hallway light behind her. She takes in your progress with an approving nod.
"You've done well," she says, stepping into the room.
You can't help but feel a sense of pride at her words. "Thank you, Naomi."
She strolls around the room, her observant gaze sweeping over the sorted piles, her hands touching a few items here and there.
"It's amazing," she finally says, "how much kindness there is out there, even when it seems like everything is falling apart. No matter how rough things get, we can choose to be generous, choose to help others. That's what makes us human."
Her words resonate with you. You’ve seen the worst and best of humanity firsthand; the same species that wages wars also unite in times of crisis, offering support and showing kindness to total strangers. How much is influenced by higher powers and how much is purely human nature, you wouldn't presume to know. Your very existence has blurred the lines between supernatural influence and mortal will.
"True," you say, looking up at Naomi from where you're still seated on the floor surrounded by donations. "That’s a nice way to look at things."
Naomi's smile broadens at that, and she gives one last cursory glance around the room before saying, "Well, I'll let you get back to work. Don't stay up too late."
"Goodnight, Naomi," you call after her as she steps out into the hallway, half-waving at you as she goes.
A little over an hour later, you step back to admire your work. Each item has been categorized, ready to be cleaned and redistributed. You move on to your next set of responsibilities: cleaning up the common areas and helping close up for the night.
The smell of cleaning supplies clings to your skin as you make your way back to your sleeping quarters—a small, shared room filled with single beds. Careful not to disturb anyone, you move towards your assigned bed, its familiar creaks and groans echoing softly under your weight as you settle into it. Exhaustion pulls at your muscles, but you need to wash up and change before you sleep.
You grab your shower caddy, change of clothes, and quietly make your way to the women’s bathroom. The fluorescent white lights flicker to life as you enter, revealing a row of curtained shower cubicles. You choose one at the end and let the water heat up as you undress. The hot water cascades over your tired body, soothing your muscles and washing away the sweat and grime that has built up throughout the day.
Shower done and teeth brushed, you pull on fresh clothes and make your way back to your bed. As you settle back down under the covers, you notice something strange on your bedsheet. A crisp scorch mark is visible against the fabric, and when you observe it more closely, you're shocked to realize that the shape almost looks like… fingers? Your heart hammers in your chest.
"Impossible," you whisper to yourself.
The sight of these burns is not unfamiliar to you; in fact, you have been the cause of such marks before. It is a common occurrence when celestial beings interact with the mortal world—remnants of their powerful energy left behind. But as you stare at them now, a sense of unease creeps over you. Could it be Jungkook? The thought flickers through your mind, but you quickly brush it aside. Why would he make himself known in this way and then vanish without even seeing you? You can't allow yourself to hope.
Dismissing the thought, you force yourself to rationalize that it must have been an accident. Perhaps someone burned it while it was being ironed. It’s easy enough to convince yourself; after all, it’s only three and a half slender marks—it could be anything. But the unease remains as you lay down on the bed, your mind filled with questions. You eventually succumb to sleep from sheer exhaustion, your dreams filled with memories of Jungkook.
Tumblr media
The next day passes in a blur—the usual routine of job applications, food preparation, and cleaning duties. The burn mark on your bedsheet remains a mystery. You track down the volunteer who did the laundry, and she swears she wouldn't be so careless as to burn someone’s belongings. Despite her assurances, it's the only explanation you are willing to believe. You return to your bed to find that the sheet has been replaced with a fresh one, the burn mark gone as if it never existed.
You spot an older man sitting on a bed in the corner; his mouth moves silently, and the rosary beads dangling from his fingers lead you to believe he’s praying. A small, faux Christmas tree, no larger than a water bottle, stands on a box next to him. The sight stirs something with you, an uncomfortable feeling once again settling in your gut. You don’t understand his faith. How can someone continue to pray to a God that has obviously forsaken him?
You wait until the man finishes and safely tucks the rosary beads into his shirt pocket, right above his heart, before you approach.
“Excuse me?”
He looks up at you with a smile, eyes crinkling around the edges. "What can I help you with, dear?"
"I noticed you praying," you begin tentatively. Despite your personal qualms with religion, you don’t want to seem as if you are disrespecting him or his beliefs. "I hope you don't mind my asking, but how do you keep your faith? Under these circumstances?"
He doesn't seem bothered at all by your blunt question. Instead, he chuckles softly and pats the bed beside him, inviting you to sit down. You hesitate a moment before complying.
"Faith isn't about having all the answers," he starts, his voice a mere whisper in the quiet room. "It isn't about being rewarded for good deeds or punished for bad ones. It's about hope. It's about believing that things will get better."
“Hope? Still? Despite… despite being here? I mean, aren’t you upset with God?” Your voice is barely above a whisper as well, a mixture of curiosity and frustration seeping into your words.
He remains silent for a while, his gaze wandering towards the small Christmas tree on the box beside him.
"No, I'm not upset with God," he finally replies. "Man is given free will, and it is man who chooses what to do with it. Crisis, poverty… God didn't create these. They're the consequences of human choices." His words are sincere, spoken with a calmness that only comes from years of contemplation. "God doesn't promise us that life will always be easy or free from hardships. But He does promise that He will be there in those times of trouble. You see, faith isn't about expecting God to fix our problems, but about having the strength to face them."
“I envy your strength,” you admit with a hint of admiration in your voice.
“Strength is born from struggle, dear. You’ll find your way soon enough.”
“I hope you’re right.”
The conversation lingers in your mind long after the man's words have faded into silence. You sit on your bunk, staring at the ceiling, pondering them. His unshakable faith is both alien and inspiring to you. Even when you were an archangel, before any doubts seeped into your mind, your faith was nothing like his. It was a duty, an obligation, a resolute certainty that was less about personal beliefs and more about the world you were born into.
His mention of hope sticks out to you the most. You look around the room again, taking note of the different symbols of faith scattered across the room—crosses, menorahs, and even a small prayer mat in one corner. Each person in this room believes in something larger than themselves, something that gives them hope. And you? You're not certain what you believe in anymore. But maybe, just maybe, some of your anger has been misplaced.
As the daylight fades, you find yourself wandering outside, the crisp evening air bringing a kind of comfort you couldn't find inside. You walk aimlessly, your feet following the now-familiar sidewalks. You end up in a park, and you make a seat for yourself on a deserted bench.
Looking up into the sky, now painted with hues of orange and pink, you let yourself miss Heaven for just a minute. To miss Jungkook. Even the Creator. You can never go back to worshipping Him, nor do you want to, but you can't deny the connection that once was. As much as you wish everything never happened, you are grateful for how much you've grown since.
Suddenly, you’re disoriented by a bright flash of light and a shrill, piercing sound that makes your entire body jolt. You shut your eyes and cover your ears, but it does nothing to dull the pain. It's as if the noise is coming from inside your mind. You half-crawl, half-fall off the bench, curling in on yourself, unable to think anything, do anything, until it finally comes to a stop.
The world pauses around you; the birds stop chirping, the wind stops blowing, and people are frozen where they walk. A familiar feeling washes over you, and your breath catches in your throat. You can’t bring yourself to open your eyes. Even in this form, even as a human, his presence calls to your very soul. You hadn’t realized how incomplete you felt, how empty you were, without him by your side. He’s your other half, and he always will be. The realization makes you want to cry. You had hoped after the Fall, after you became human, that would cease to be true. You can’t stand the fact that you’re still irrevocably tied to him, even after all that he’s done. As always, fate is cruel.
“Y/N.”
He speaks your name with a quiet reverence as if he can hardly believe you’re there in front of him. The familiar, honeyed tone of his voice reignites your longing for him with full force, but you still stubbornly keep your eyes closed. You can’t look at him. You aren’t strong enough.
“I cannot believe you are alive.”
What?
His statement shocks you enough that your eyes fly open of their own accord, and for the first time in months, you're met with the sight of Jungkook. You're not sure if you perceive him differently now that you are mortal, but he's even more captivating than you remember.
His dark hair curls softly atop his head and is tousled ever-so-perfectly. His skin is beautifully tanned, and the way his tall figure is silhouetted against the sun makes it seem like he's glowing. His wings are obsidian, gargantuan in size, seemingly consuming the entire park with their reach. He's magnificent, so beautiful it hurts.
But it is his eyes that have you frozen in your spot—those beautiful, brown doe eyes, filled with so much emotion that it takes your breath away. He's not supposed to be able to feel unless… unless he has begun the degradation process, as you had.
“Y/N,” he repeats, his voice trembling. "I thought you were dead."
“I don't understand,” you manage to choke out, trying to sound more composed than you feel. You pull yourself to your feet, grimacing at the pain radiating throughout your body. How much of it is physical and how much is emotional, you can't tell.
He takes a step closer to you, his hands outstretched as if to ensure that you're real, but you recoil instinctively. He flinches at your reaction but still grabs your arms, grip unrelenting even as you attempt to pull away from him.
“Protective markings have been burned onto your ribs.” Hurt flashes across his features. “Were you hiding from me?”
“What? No.” You manage to break free and back up a few steps, putting some distance between you. You feel exposed and vulnerable under his gaze, remembering how he always seemed to know what you were thinking even before you did. "I didn't even know I had them."
"I need you to explain everything," he demands.
“You need me to explain?" You scoff and cross your arms over your chest defensively. "What about you?”
“Me?” He tilts his head slightly, his confusion obvious.
“Yes, you!" You take a step closer, anger simmering just beneath the surface. "After all, you’re how I ended up in this situation, right?”
“What are you talking about?”
"You betrayed me!" you hiss. “I confided in you, and you told me you understood. That you were with me. And then you turned around and proclaimed me a blasphemer!”
He doesn’t respond right away, and it’s as if you can see the cogs turning in his head as he pieces things together. “Y/N… I would never.”
His admittance makes you pause. Angels aren’t supposed to lie, though you know not everyone abides by that law. However, Jungkook has always been one of the most dedicated to the commandments.
“That’s not what Namsu told me.”
“Namsu? The Throne?”
“Yes, the Throne. The one who exiled me on the orders of up high.”
His eyebrows furrow. “You… were exiled? You did not wither?”
"Wither?" you scoff. "That's a myth, Jungkook. A cover-up to hide the fact that when angels start to stand up for what they think is right, they get cast out. And it's thanks to you that I'm here now."
"I… no." The intensity behind the word takes you aback. "I just wanted to help you; I thought you were sick. I went to one of the Cherubim for guidance—I would have never turned you in for some kind of punishment."
His words hang in the air, making your heart pound in your chest. He was trying to help you? The thought sends a flurry of conflicting emotions through you.
"Help me?" You repeat his words, mocking him in your disbelief. "Your way of helping got me exiled! Cast down and made mortal."
"I did not—" He cuts himself off, his gaze dropping to the ground. "I never meant for any of this to happen."
"Yet it did!" you snap, crossing your arms tightly around yourself as if they could somehow shield you from the pain his presence brings. "And now I'm here, and nothing will ever be the same!"
"I am so sorry." His apology is whispered so softly that you almost don't catch it. But you do, and it hits you like a punch in the gut.
Your head feels as if it's about to implode. He didn't purposefully betray you—in fact, he was trying to save you. But even so, his actions have led to your downfall, and now you're stuck here on earth, far from the light of Heaven, vulnerable and mortal, while he remains immortal and untouchable. Perhaps that's the part that hurts the most. The fact that now you are separated not by betrayal but by the very nature of your beings.
Your voice cracks as tears fill your eyes. "If all this is true, then why wouldn’t you have looked for me?”
“I looked everywhere at first, but I could not sense you anymore.” If it was possible, you think he would be crying too. “Namsu is the one who told me what happened. He said that you… that your doubt consumed you, and you did not survive.”
The information hits you like a ton of bricks. Your knees almost give out for a second time, but Jungkook reaches out and grabs you by the elbows, steadying you.
"I… I had no idea." A bitter laugh escapes your lips as you look up at him. "You didn't know anything, and I presumed the worst of you."
His fingers tighten around your arms in a reassuring squeeze. "We can always start over, Y/N."
"Start over?" you echo, incredulous. "You make it sound so easy."
"And why would it not be? We were not the ones to blame for our separation. Come back with me."
"I'm human now. The only way I can come back is… is if I'm dead."
His grip loosens, his face paling at your words. "I did not mean to suggest… Of course, I do not want you to die," he hastily corrects himself, glancing down at the ground. His wings flutter uneasily behind him, betraying his discomfort. "There must be another way."
"If there was, would it even be safe? I mean, why would Namsu do this?" you ask, staring at him. You're not sure if you're asking him or simply musing aloud. Even so, the question hangs heavily in the silence between you.
Finally, after what seems like an eternity, Jungkook speaks again. His voice is barely above a whisper when he says, "I wish I had the answers you seek, but I don't. All I know is that I will do everything in my power to rectify this situation." He turns away from you, scanning the horizon as if searching for something. "I need to return and confront Namsu. He must account for his actions."
"No, it's too dangerous. What if he forces you to Fall, too? You can't risk it, Jungkook."
He looks back at you, his expression hardening. "I will not let him get away with this, Y/N," he says resolutely. "Deception is not a virtue of a Throne, especially not in such grave matters."
"And you won't let him, but you need to go about this carefully. Going to him directly won't work—he's too powerful."
Jungkook tilts his head, regarding you skeptically. "It almost sounds as if you are asking me to be deceitful."
"Not deceitful, just… stealthy?"
He doesn’t respond immediately, his brow furrowed as he mulls over your words. After a moment, he exhales slowly, pulling back from you to pace the grass in thought. "Stealthy," he repeats slowly, his voice distant. "That would require careful planning. Secret meetings. Misdirection."
"Yes," you agree, watching him closely. "All of that."
He stops suddenly, turning to look at you. "Very well. I will do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of this."
Your chest tightens, and you gnaw at your bottom lip. His resolve both comforts and worries you. You don't want him to risk himself for you, but part of you is happy that he is willing.
"However,” Jungkook breaks your train of thought. "It sounds like I may need to be a little bit more human to pull this off. After all, none of this comes easily to angels, but mortals lie all the time."
You raise an eyebrow. "And how are you going to achieve that?"
"You will have to teach me, of course." He says this as if doing so will be the easiest thing in the world. “The degradation process has already started for me, as I am sure you are aware. It should be easy.”
"You're serious?"
Jungkook had always been so straight-laced, the epitome of angelic perfection. The idea of him playing at being human is almost laughable.
"Completely," he responds, his intense gaze never wavering. "I am willing to do whatever it takes to bring Namsu to justice and try to fix this. Fix us. If that requires adopting some mortal habits, then so be it."
"Alright," you finally concede, shaking your head in amusement. "Time for a crash course in 'how to be a human' 101."
He smiles faintly at that, the corners of his mouth tipping upwards just so. It's a small thing, barely noticeable amidst the tension still hanging heavily in the air between you two, but it's enough. Enough to remind you that the way you felt about him in Heaven, despite not being able to feel, was some kind of love. You don't know where that leaves you now or what you're going to do about it, but procrastination is another human skill you have come to love. Maybe you'll teach him that eventually.
"Lesson one," you start, pointing a finger at him in mock sternness. "Humans don't always speak so formally or in such grandiose phrases. ‘I am going to bring Namsu to justice' sounds archaic or like something a two-bit superhero would say."
His lips quirk upward into a more genuine smile this time. "I see," he replies, his voice deliberately casual. "So how would a human say it?"
"Well, for starters, you could use slang," you suggest.
Jungkook’s brows furrow, an almost comical look of concentration on his face. “Slang,” he repeats, testing the word on his tongue.
“Yes, slang. Humans don’t always pronounce every single word, and they often come up with new, shorter words to replace certain phrases. You could say something like, 'Namsu’s gonna get what he deserves.'”
He nods, repeating your words slowly. “Namsu... is going to get what he deserves.”
You burst out laughing at his attempt. The prim, stoic angel fumbling his way through human speech? It is truly a sight to behold.
"Laughing at my expense?" He feigns hurt, but there's a playful twinkle in his eyes that gives him away. "I guess that's lesson two then: humans are full of mirth and mockery."
"You're catching on quickly," you reply, still giggling slightly. “And yes, we like to laugh.”
He observes you a moment longer before finally allowing a soft chuckle to escape his lips. It's a deep, rich sound, but it feels tentative like he's not quite sure if he's doing it right.
“Laughing…" he murmurs, puzzling over the concept. “Such a peculiar expression of joy. But I like it."
"As you should," you reply, a grin still playing across your face. "It's one of the best parts about being human."
Jungkook studies you for a moment, a smile tugging at his lips. "It suits you."
"Hm? What does?"
"Being human."
"I’m not sure whether to take that as a compliment or an insult.”
"There is a certain spontaneity in humans. A vibrancy that angels lack." Jungkook’s gaze intensifies, his voice lowering to almost a whisper as he steps closer. "It makes you shine more brightly. Like the sun."
He's so close to you now that you can make out the subtle flecks of gold in his eyes. Your heart pounds in your chest as his words wash over you, warming you from the inside out.
"That—" You clear your throat, trying to steady your shaking voice. "That sounds like a compliment."
"It is," he confirms, his gaze flickering down to your lips for a brief second before rising back to meet your eyes. "But it is also an observation. A fact."
You want to kiss him. The thought shocks you—you've never kissed someone before, let alone wanted to. It must be a human impulse. You can't help but imagine what it might feel like, the warmth of his lips against yours, his skin beneath your fingertips. You want to feel his hand on your cheek, his fingers tangling in your hair. But the danger of your respective positions impedes that thought, and you push it down. He's an angel. You're not. Him being your Astrom, the connection you had before your Fall, none of it matters now.
"Okay," you manage to squeak out, trying to ignore the electricity that seems to be sparking between your too-close bodies. "Human lesson number three: we're big on personal space."
"Oh?" Jungkook raises an eyebrow but doesn't step away. "Is this too close?"
You swallow hard. "A bit."
You swear you see a hint of mischievousness cross his features before he complies, stepping back just enough to leave a sliver of space between you. "Better?"
"Now you're just teasing me," you retort, though there's a soft smile playing on your lips.
"Is that frowned upon?"
"No," you admit. "In fact, it's quite human of you. Now, it’s time for a real challenge." He looks at you quizzically. "We have to convince Naomi to let you stay at the shelter."
"Ah," he nods, understanding dawning on him. "I see. Another part of being human—negotiation."
"Exactly."
"Then lead the way." With a snap of his fingers, time resumes for the two of you and his wings have disappeared, making him appear fully human, and you head back to Lost Star.
Tumblr media
"Naomi, please," you beg, giving your boss the best puppy eyes you can muster. "He needs a place to stay."
Naomi crosses her arms over her chest and drags her gaze over Jungkook in a way that suggests she's scrutinizing every cell of his being, from the top of his head down to the tips of his toes. "There's no extra beds, hun. I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do."
"Then he can stay with me!"
"You and him, sharing that tiny little twin bed?" She scoffs. "I'd like to see you try."
"We'll make it work!"
"It's still against the rules. One body to one bed."
"I know it's not ideal, but just for a few days until we figure out something else," you urge her. "I wouldn't be asking you this if it wasn't important."
Jungkook steps forward, interjecting smoothly, "I will respect the rules, and if you feel my presence is harmful or disruptive in any way, I will leave immediately."
Naomi looks between you and Jungkook, and then she sighs, throwing her hands up in defeat.
"Fine, but only for a little while. And you can't sleep in the main room. Take my office—the couch is a pull-out."
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" You pull her into a hug that she returns with a loving exasperation.
"If there's even a whiff of trouble, both of you are gone, understand?"
"Yes, ma'am! I wouldn't expect anything less."
You grab Jungkook’s hand, dragging him along behind you as you lead him through the shelter. You pass through some of the busier living areas, and it's as if everyone can’t help but stare at him. You can only assume that, despite his wings being hidden, he still emits some sort of otherworldly aura that draws people in. Plus, by human standards, you suppose he's quite attractive.
Jungkook seems unbothered by the attention, too focused on his surroundings and curiously taking in every detail.
"All these people live here?" he asks, incredulous. "This place is quite small."
"Shh! Lesson four: lower your voice when you're talking about other people. The last thing we need is for someone to overhear and think you're judging them."
"Apologies," Jungkook replies, his voice dropping to a whisper. "But my previous comment was not meant to be judgmental. I’m just… surprised. I thought humans usually lived in family units, but everyone here doesn't seem to be related."
I’m. Doesn’t. He’s already using contractions—you must either be a good teacher or he’s a quick learner.
"You're right," you agree, and as you glance around, your heart aches a little. "Not everyone is fortunate enough to have that. This place is for those who have lost their families or homes."
"Lost their homes? Like in a fire?"
"Sometimes. Or maybe they didn't have enough money to pay their taxes."
"I don't understand. Are there not enough homes for everyone? Why do you need to pay for such a basic need?"
You pause, the innocence of his question hitting you surprisingly hard. Of course he wouldn't understand the complexities of human society, of money and social class, of poverty and wealth disparity. You didn't either; at least, not until you Fell and were forced to figure it out.
"That is a complicated issue," you admit, running a hand through your hair. "And not all humans agree on how to solve it. Some people think everyone should have a home, regardless of whether or not they can pay for it. Others think that if you can't afford it, you don't deserve one."
He looks so confused that you would be tempted to laugh if the tone of the conversation wasn't so serious. "That doesn't seem fair. In heaven, everyone has a place."
"Yes, well, Earth isn't heaven." There's a bitterness to your words that you hadn't intended. "And why our Creator chooses to leave things like this is a mystery to me. I mean, why not use some of His power to help?"
"The ways of the Almighty are impossible for us to understand," Jungkook quietly replies. "And it's not for us to question."
You snort in response, crossing your arms over your chest. "Well, aren't you a dutiful little angel?"
Jungkook frowns, clearly not understanding your sarcasm. You sigh and shake your head.
"I'm sorry, Jungkook. It's just hard to wrap my head around sometimes. It's why my so-called degradation process started in the first place. Look at them—" You gesture to the people huddled together around the small television in the corner of the room, others sharing a meal or helping to care for the younger children. "They're good people. Why do they deserve to suffer?"
Silence lingers between you for a moment. When he responds, he doesn’t answer your question. “Their heavenly rewards shall be plentiful as long as they keep to their faith.”
“Does that make all of this okay?" You scoff. "Why are they being tested like this? In fact, why do they even need to believe at all to be given a home in the celestial realm? If a person is good-hearted, why isn’t that enough?”
Jungkook looks away from you. "I don't like these questions."
“You don’t like them? Or you don’t like how uncomfortable they make you feel?”
Before he can even bother replying, you let go of his hand and open the door to Naomi's office, hurrying inside, eager to get some space. It's small and cramped, filled with stacks of paper, an old wooden desk strewn with an old computer and various office supplies, and a well-worn couch wedged against the wall.
"It's not much," you say. "But it's home for now, I guess."
"Home," Jungkook repeats softly, eyes scanning the room. He zeroes in the billboard behind Naomi's desk, filled with photos of smiling people, letters from those that she has helped. A smile tugs at his lips. "It's nice."
"You say that now. Just wait until you're trying to sleep and a couch spring is digging into your back."
"I don't actually need to sleep," he reminds you.
You roll your eyes, crossing your arms over your chest. "Right, I forgot. At least we won't be fighting for the blanket."
"I can pretend to," Jungkook offers, a spark of amusement in his eyes. "The idea of laying next to you is not unwelcome."
You blush, taken aback. "W-what… you…" You take a deep breath. "No, that won't be necessary. And lesson five: don't flirt with people unless you mean it."
"What is 'flirt’?”
"Flirting," you explain, trying to keep your blush under control, "is when people say or do things that suggest they're attracted to each other."
"I see." He pauses for just a moment before asking, "And how do I know if I'm attracted to someone?"
You sigh exasperatedly. Who knew teaching an angel to be human could be so tiring?
"It's… well, it's kind of hard to explain. Especially because, as an angel, you don't really feel, at least not until the degradation process is nearing its end. But basically, it's like you have an inexplicable urge to be around this person a lot. You think about them often, their happiness makes you happy, and you want to be closer to them, maybe even touch them or hold them. Some people also might feel their heart beat faster, or a fluttering in their stomach."
As you speak, Jungkook’s eyes never leave yours. They gleam with curiosity and understanding, drinking in every word you say. He seems to be processing the concept, and then he suddenly smiles. "So, like how I feel about you."
Caught off-guard, you blink at him, speechless for a moment. And then the panic seeps in.
"No, Jungkook, that's not correct," you insist, your words tumbling out in haste and denial. "You can't… we can't… you're an angel. I'm—" Fallen, you want to say. Human, you need to say. But you don't.
"Why not?" he asks simply, his gaze steady.
"Because!" You scramble for an explanation, desperate to avoid the truth of your own feelings stirring within you. "Because angels aren't supposed to feel that way."
"But I am no longer a pure angel," Jungkook counters. "The degradation process has begun. We discussed this already."
"But that doesn't matter! The whole reason we are doing this is so you can learn the skills you need to figure out a way to stop Namsu from forcing anyone else to Fall. Once you do, you'll be able to stay in Heaven because withering isn't real." Before he can say anything else, you open the door. "I'm gonna grab my stuff from my bed. I'll… I'll be back in a second."
You slam the door behind you, leaving Jungkook alone in the room. It's a struggle to keep your composure as you head towards your bed. All you can think of is his words, the nonchalance with which he said them. You can feel your traitorous heart yearning for him, but you can't let it sway you. Whether it was an accident or not, his betrayal led to your Fall. Led to you being human. And he's an angel. No matter what you feel or what he thinks he feels, nothing can happen between you now.
As you gather your meager belongings, the man you spoke with earlier approaches you with a sympathetic expression. "You alright, dear? You didn't get evicted, did you? I'll give Naomi a piece of mind if that's the case."
"No, no," you quickly reassure him with a forced smile. "My… my friend needs a place to stay for awhile, and there's a one body to one bed policy. Naomi was kind enough to let us use the couch in her office for a few days until we figure something else out."
"Your friend, hm?" His eyes twinkle mischievously. "That fellow you walked in with? Can't say I blame you. He's quite a looker."
"It's not like that," you blush, hurriedly stuffing the rest of your belongings into your bag. "Anyway, don't worry. You'll still see me around."
The man grins and gives you a friendly pat on the shoulder. "I'm glad to hear it. This place would be much drearier without you."
You bid him goodbye with a wave and make your way back to Naomi's office, feeling like you're walking towards the edge of a cliff. As you open the door, you find Jungkook staring out the window. The streetlight spills in through the gap in the curtains, bathing him in a soft glow. He turns as you enter.
"Gathered your belongings?" he asks, his voice calm as if the previous conversation never happened. For a moment, you feel robbed—does he not understand the gravity of what he said? But you suppose it's better this way. Easier, at least.
"Yes," you respond, a bit more brusquely than intended, setting your bag down on the floor. He's still staring at you, and you flush under his gaze. "I'm just going to set up the couch. And stop staring at me so intently. Humans get nervous about stuff like that."
"Another lesson," he remarks. "Understood." Jungkook watches you for a moment longer, then turns back to the window without a word.
You get to work, unfolding the couch and covering it with your bedding. The silence between you is thick; you can feel the tension radiating off of Jungkook despite his apparent calm. Your heart pounds in your ears as you busy yourself with smoothing out some wrinkles in the sheets, a futile distraction.
With a deep breath, you break the silence. "Alright, I'm done."
Jungkook turns to look, and his eyes scan the makeshift bed you've prepared. "You've made it look inviting."
"Should be okay for a few nights," you reply curtly, avoiding his gaze. "I'm, uh, gonna go ready for bed. I know you don't sleep, but feel free to sit at her desk or something. Make yourself comfortable."
You exit the room and head down the hallway to the bathroom, leaving Jungkook alone with his thoughts. You can’t shake off his confession and your own rush to deny him. The truth of your feelings, or rather the depth of them, is something you aren't ready to face.
After getting ready for bed, you hesitantly return to Naomi's office. The door creaks upon opening, and Jungkook turns from where he's seated at Naomi's desk, looking up at you with his intense gaze.
"Goodnight," you say softly, trying not to let your voice betray how uneasy you feel.
Jungkook nods. "Goodnight," he replies, and his voice is gentle, concerned. You feel a pang of guilt at the distance you've created between the two of you but say nothing more, falling into a fitful sleep.
Tumblr media
Sometime during the night, Jungkook figured out how to work Naomi's dinosaur of a computer and discovered the wonderful thing that is the internet. When you wake, he flocks to your side like an excited child, eager to share everything he has learned about humans, their emotions, and their behavior.
"Slow down, Jungkook," you chuckle, holding up a hand to halt his barrage of words. "I can't absorb all of that at once."
"Oh," he says, blinking in surprise. "I forget that human minds process information more slowly. Should I take this as another lesson?"
You shrug, brushing a loose strand of hair behind your ear. "Sure, go for it."
Despite the tension last night and everything unsaid between the two of you, you find yourself falling into an easy rhythm with him. He's eager to learn and keen on understanding humanity—your humanity. Throughout the day, he continues his studies, glued to the computer screen as you complete your daily volunteering. He takes breaks every once in a while to come find you and ask questions.
"I've come across some terms that are perplexing," he says, leaning on the front desk as you catalog some information. "'Memes' and 'emojis' appear prominently in human interactions online, but I don’t really know what they are or how they’re used.”
You answer question after question until you realize you aren’t getting work done, so you have to come up with a plan B. Leading him back to Naomi’s office, you pull up Netflix on the computer. Jungkook watches the screen in fascination as you explain streaming and scroll through all the shows.
"Let's try Friends," you say, clicking on the thumbnail.
You leave him to watch as you finish up your tasks for the day, checking occasionally to see that he’s still engrossed in the show. Instead of constantly badgering you with questions, he writes them on a notepad you provided and waits until the end of the day to go over them with you. You answer each one as best you can, completely endeared by him.
It's during one of the show's more depressing moments that he asks you about lying and betrayal, echoing the heavy undertones from the other day. His question takes you by surprise, his gaze focused intensely on your face as he waits for an answer.
"Lying is a tough one," you say, trying to keep your voice steady. "Sometimes it's out of fear or selfishness. Sometimes people lie because they're trying to protect themselves."
"And betrayal?" Jungkook asks, his voice unnaturally calm.
You sigh, looking down at your hands. "Betrayal… it's when someone breaks your trust. It hurts, Jungkook. It hurts a lot."
He watches you for several long moments before finally speaking again. "I see," he says softly. "And that's what you thought I did to you?"
You swallow hard, feeling the knot in your chest tighten. "Jungkook," you start, but falter, not knowing how to put your feelings into words.
"I did not mean to betray you," Jungkook continues. "I realize that my actions may have led you to believe that I deceived you, but it was not my intention. I'm sorry."
"I know." You believe him completely, but the wound is still so fresh that you can’t bring yourself to fully trust him again. Not yet. "I know you didn't mean to, but an apology doesn't fix everything. Consider it another lesson—trust, once broken, isn't so easily mended."
Jungkook plays with the skin around his nails, an anxious habit he seems to be developing the more human-like he becomes. After a moment, he says, "I understand. I will try harder."
"Try harder doing what?"
"To understand you better. To understand all humans more, their emotions and their beliefs. Maybe understanding what trust really is will teach me how to earn it back and make up for my mistakes." He's so earnest, so genuine, it almost brings tears to your eyes. "I think I want this as much as I want Namsu to answer for his crimes, if not more. And maybe that makes little sense, but maybe… maybe that's quite human of me."
"And maybe that's progress," you say softly, looking at Jungkook with newfound hope.
Tumblr media
Your new normal is spending your days with your time split between performing your volunteering duties and teaching Jungkook all about human life.
Christmas is only a week away now, and everyone around you seems to be buzzing with excitement. At this point, even the inside of the shelter has been decorated. The hallways are lined with lights and garlands, and the common areas even have a few trees set up with donated presents underneath. And, as much as you have dreaded the holiday, you can't deny that watching Jungkook experience it for the first time makes you hate it a little less.
Despite the initial stiffness that comes with being an angel unfamiliar with human life, he has quickly adapted to life at the shelter. He's kind and patient, and he’s always eager to help out where he can. The children, in particular, have taken a liking to him. He's become their favorite storyteller and always has the kids hanging onto his every word.
One afternoon, you find him sitting with them, singing a song in an ancient celestial language. Everyone will assume it’s some gibberish language he’s made up for one of his stories, but it reminds you of home. His voice is beautiful, melodic and soothing, with a honeyed quality to it that would make anyone stop and listen.
You stand in the doorway and watch, a smile tugging at your lips. He catches your eye and winks, the action so human and unexpected that it startles a laugh out of you. The children turn to see what's so funny, but you just shake your head, telling them to continue listening.
He comes to you when he finishes, smiling brightly. "Did you enjoy the song as well?"
"I did," you reply truthfully, your heart fluttering at his attention. The feelings you have been trying to resist are becoming increasingly persistent the more time you spend with him.
"That's good to hear.”
Suddenly, the kids clamor over to you both, giggling and pointing at something above you. You look up, and all the color drains from your face. Mistletoe. Who the hell put it here?
Jungkook looks between you and the mistletoe, obviously confused. “Why are you angry with that plant? It’s quite beautiful.”
“It’s a tradition, of sorts.” You say the word with disdain. “When a couple—not that we are one—walks under the mistletoe, they’re supposed to kiss.”
“Kiss?”
“We don’t have to, it’s stupid—”
“No, let’s do it. It's a part of the human experience, right? Let's consider it another lesson."
Heat rushes to your face, and you stutter incoherently, looking around the room for a way to escape. But the children are watching expectantly, their eyes wide and eager. You swallow hard, your heart pounding in your chest.
"Alright… close your eyes," you tell him.
He listens obediently, his eyes fluttering closed. You had never noticed just how long and pretty his eyelashes were until now. Bracing yourself, you take a deep breath and lean in, placing a soft kiss on his cheek. When you pull back, you're greeted with a perplexed expression as he opens his eyes.
"That was nice," he says after a brief pause. "But that’s really what a kiss is? In the show, they did it a bit more like—"
He leans in to demonstrate what he means, his lips brushing against yours. It's soft and a bit awkward at first, but he quickly gets the hang of it, pulling you closer. Against your better judgment, you let him, allowing yourself to get lost in the moment. His lips are softer than you would have expected. His fingers lightly squeeze your waist, sending a jolt of electricity through your body, and it's not until you hear some of the children giggling that you are reminded you have an audience.
You quickly pull away, breathless and flushed with embarrassment. Jungkook, however, is grinning from ear to ear. "That," he says. "That is how they did it."
"Again! Again!" one of the kids shouts, pulling at your arm.
Jungkook chuckles at his enthusiasm. "I think we should get back to our story," he says, ruffling the boy’s hair lovingly. Then, turning back to you, he murmurs, "Thank you. For the lesson."
You can barely speak coherently, but you manage to squeak out a small “you’re welcome” before rushing out of the room. How on Earth are you supposed to get your tasks done now? It's impossible to focus, your mind running in circles over his touch, the feel of his lips against yours.
When you return to Naomi’s office later that night, you’re relieved to see that Jungkook isn't there yet. You take a moment to sit on the edge of the bed and process your thoughts, your fingers tracing absentmindedly over your lips. A shiver passes through your body, a heat blooming in the pit of your stomach. You drop your hand, clenching it into a fist to stop the trembling.
"Nervous?" a voice asks, startling you out of your thoughts. Jungkook is standing in the doorway, watching you with an unreadable expression.
"I… no," you say.
"Don't lie," he chides gently, sitting next to you on the bed. “I can tell when you do that now, you know.” He keeps to a respectful distance, but he turns his gaze to you. “I think I'm starting to really understand this human thing. Emotions and all that.”
"Is that so?"
"Yes. They can be painful sometimes but also quite beautiful."
You watch as he turns his gaze back towards the room, and silence stretches between you again. However, it’s different now from how it used to be; it's not awkward or unsettling, but comfortable. His vulnerability makes you want to be honest, to admit to the way you feel.
Just as you’re about to say something, he continues, "But now it's time for me to learn about something else. I need to start strategizing for the coming confrontation."
"Right, Namsu," you say. You almost forgot about Jungkook’s original intentions. You clap your hands and get up, heading to the computer. "Alright. Let's research."
Tumblr media
With Jungkook sufficiently prepared, the time soon comes for him to return to the celestial realm. However, he insists on leaving at night, so he can spend the day with you. He referred to it as "a date," and you practically tripped over your own feet, much to his enjoyment. He has certainly developed a penchant for teasing you.
You decide to take him into the heart of the city, so he can observe people in their natural element. There seem to be even more decorations than you remember, and people are bustling about to finish their last-minute shopping. However, you find yourself handling the chaos a lot better with Jungkook by your side.
He hasn't let go of your hand since you stepped out of the shelter, his thumb lightly rubbing circles over your knuckles. Every once in a while, he squeezes it lightly, a silent assurance that he’s there. Whether he notices your nerves and is doing it to comfort you or is doing it because he wants to, you're grateful for it.
His doe eyes dart this way and that, eagerly drinking in the scenery. You try to explain what everything is—the office buildings, luxury apartments, and tiny shops buried in alleyways—but he's more interested in the people. It isn't until you stop in front of a Hindu temple that his attention is finally captured by a building. He cocks his head to the side, eyes wide in wonder as he takes in the sight of it. The temple is a beautiful structure, with elaborate carvings and statues lining its walls.
"What is this place?" he asks, his voice full of awe.
"It's a place of worship for those that practice Hinduism," you explain.
His eyes sparkle with interest as he takes a step closer to the building. "Can we go inside?"
You glance at him, surprised by his request. But something in his earnest gaze breaks down your hesitation. "Sure," you say softly, leading him inside.
The inside of the temple is even more impressive than the outside. There are vibrant murals depicting different gods and an intoxicating scent of incense that fills the air. You gesture to the bell at the entrance. “Would you like to ring it?”
“What’s it for?” he asks, picking it up gently.
“It’s supposed to be a way to announce your arrival to the deities.”
Jungkook shakes it, the twinkling of the bell echoing in the large room. “Pretty,” he remarks as he places it back where it belongs.
He then follows your lead as you move towards the main shrine, your heart pounding in your chest as you realize what you're about to do. An angel of the Christian God at the altar of a different one? You're almost afraid you'll be struck down where you stand.
He takes in the offerings with a small smile. "It's all quite beautiful," he remarks. "It's a shame that their gods aren't real."
You know Jungkook means no harm and that it is what he has been conditioned to think for thousands of years, but you still bristle at his easy dismissal of their beliefs. “We’re real. Our God is real. Who’s to say the gods of their religion are not?”
"There is one God. That is what we were taught."
"Yes, it is. But we were also led to believe the withering was real. Just because it is said does not mean that it is true.”
Jungkook is silent for a moment, eyes still fixed on the offerings. Then he turns to you. "You truly believe that?"
"I don't know," you confess, feeling a little exposed. “I don't know what I believe anymore. I'm just… questioning. It's complicated."
"You have given me a lot to think about," he admits, his tone quiet. “For all I know, you might be right. I shouldn't have dismissed their beliefs so easily. I apologize.”
You stare at him in surprise; you hadn't expected him to back down so easily. "It's okay," you reassure him. "I'd say being open-minded is another lesson, but unfortunately, not all humans are."
You continue to walk around the city, introducing Jungkook to as many things as possible. Everything he does fills you with affection, whether it be him trying hot dogs from a street vendor and declaring them divine, or joining some kids who were playing soccer in a park. At one point, he kicks the ball so hard that it lands in a tree branch, and you can’t help but laugh as he clumsily climbs up to retrieve it.
When night falls, you end up at the pier, watching the shimmering water beneath the stars. Jungkook is oddly quiet, looking out at the horizon with a distant expression. The silence isn't uncomfortable, but it does leave you feeling a little uneasy. You reach for his hand, and he startles slightly before turning to look at you.
"Penny for your thoughts?" you ask.
He smiles slightly. “I’m guessing that’s some sort of human expression, and you’re not actually going to give me a penny.”
“You would be correct.”
“I’m thinking about a lot of things.” He exhales as if letting out a breath he has been holding. "You, for one. But I'm always thinking of you so that much isn't a surprise." You blush and swat at his arm. "But I’m also thinking about my beliefs."
"What about them?"
He takes a moment to get his thoughts in order, grabbing your hand more tightly as if you're his anchor in a stormy sea. He answers your question with another. "What if everything we have been taught is wrong? I mean, we have never spoken with the Almighty directly. Angels, apostles, they can all take His words and twist them for their own purposes. We've seen it in action with Namsu, and with how the Bible has been changed to promote hatred."
You're taken aback by his frankness, the depth of his vulnerability. You have no answers for him, but you can relate to him and offer what little understanding you have come to have.
"So maybe it is wrong, and things have gotten taken out of context or changed as the years have gone on. Like you said, we cannot talk to Him, so we can’t ask for the truth. Or, maybe it is all part of a bigger plan, and unwavering faith is the answer.” You pause, steeling your resolve, before continuing, “But it isn’t for me. I can’t live that way. But how you decide to live is your choice. Who you are is your choice. I cannot decide that for you, and neither can He.”
He frowns. "I don't know how to make that choice. Who even am I? What am I without my purpose? Without Him?"
"Perhaps we're not defined by a single purpose we've been given," you answer quietly. "Maybe we're more than that."
"More than our purpose?"
"Yeah," you say, a soft smile tugging at your lips. "Maybe we don't need a purpose. Maybe it's okay to just exist."
Jungkook’s gaze turns thoughtful, considering your words as if they are the most precious thing in the world. "Just exist," he repeats, his voice barely above a whisper. After a moment, he stands up, looking at you with a newfound fire blazing in his eyes. "I need to return. I will talk to some of my confidants, gather information, and then confront Namsu."
You knew it was coming, but your stomach still drops. You're scared for him, for what will happen when he leaves. But you see the determination in his eyes, the steel in his gaze. You know better than to try and stop him now.
"You'll be careful, right?" you ask, your voice shaking slightly.
"I will."
He pulls you up and envelops you in his arms. His embrace is comforting, protective, and for a brief moment, it makes you forget about all your worries.
"Promise me," you whisper into his chest.
"I promise," he says, his hands rubbing soothing circles on your back. He pulls away after a moment, but not before brushing his lips against your temple. "I will return. For you."
His words weigh heavy in the air as he pulls away fully, breaking the physical contact between you two. His gaze lingers on you for another moment before he turns away and disappears into the night. You're left standing on the pier alone, the cold wind making you shiver. Wrapping your arms around yourself, you head back to Lost Star, where you have nothing to do but wait.
Tumblr media
It’s Christmas Eve before you know it. The holiday you have been dreading feels even worse with Jungkook’s absence, and frankly, you don’t know how to handle it. You plaster a smile on your face for the sake of the children, playing along with their excitement over what presents they are going to get and stories of Santa Claus. But every time someone brings Jungkook up, wondering where he is, you feel tempted to run to Naomi’s office and hide.
Speaking of Naomi, she has been keeping a close watch over you, mothering you as per usual. You know she can tell that something has happened. Once you step away from the festivities to do some of your work, she pulls you aside.
“Honey, what’s going on? These days you seem so out of it; you’re just flitting around room to room, acting like a ghost.” When you don’t answer, she frowns. “It’s because of that boy, isn’t it?”
"He… he needed to go home. He had some things he needed to figure out," you manage to say. It's not a lie, just an oversimplification of the truth.
She wraps an arm around you. "He's going to come back. I saw the way he looked at you, and you at him. And if he doesn't, well, screw him."
"Naomi!"
"Sorry, sorry. He was sweet and all, but you're my girl. I'll always have your back." Naomi declares, patting you on the back.
You accept her comfort, fighting back your tears. If only she knew your fear didn’t revolve around him coming back—of course, part of you is scared that something will happen to him, but the rational part of your brain, the part that knows his strength, has no doubts he'll be alright. In actuality, your biggest fear is that he won't be able to stay with you, and you’ll have to go through the pain of losing him all over again.
He's an angel. You're human. There's no future there. Your traitorous heart made you fall harder and harder for him without sparing that a moment's thought, and now you have to will yourself to accept that you'll always be in love with someone you cannot have.
The rest of the day passes in a blur, nothing but forced cheer and mindless chatter. Naomi sticks by your side as much as she can, making sure to redirect everyone who asks you questions about Jungkook. You're grateful for her presence, her constant support, and now more than ever, you realize how lucky you truly are to have her in your life.
As soon as everyone is in bed and your tasks for the day are done, you seek out the solitude of the pier once again. You've been coming here daily since he left. A sentimental thing, mostly, since it was the last place you saw him. But you also hope each night will be the night he returns.
The wind is strong tonight, the kind that chills you down to your bones, and the stars are hidden behind the clouds. You wrap your scarf more tightly around yourself, gazing aimlessly at the turbulent water. Suddenly, there's a bright light and a shrill noise. You aren't scared this time, and it's not nearly as overwhelming as it was. He must have tempered it somehow, made it less painful for you.
The light fades, leaving behind a figure that is unmistakably Jungkook. The sight of him fills you with such relief and happiness that you rush forward, throwing your arms around him. He envelops you in his arms, his wings folding around you, a sigh of contentment escaping his lips as he buries his face in your hair.
"I missed you very much," he says, breathing deeply.
"I missed you too," you whisper, tears prickling at your eyes. "I knew you'd come back."
"I said I would, didn't I?" he teases, pulling away just enough to look at you. "And I have news."
"What happened?"
You stay locked in his embrace as he speaks, bringing one of your hands to his face to stroke his cheek, to follow the line of his jaw with your fingers. He lets you, as eager to feel your touch as you are to feel his.
"I confronted Namsu," he begins. "But I wasn't alone. There were other angels who had started the 'degradation' process, those who were too fearful of retribution to say anything. I told them everything, and we confronted the other Thrones about Namsu and everything he had done. They didn’t approve of his actions, and they punished him for it."
"Really?" You ask, eyes wide with surprise. "Just like that? They believed you?"
A soft laugh bubbles up from him. "It wasn't quite that simple. There was plenty of arguing, plenty of disbelief. I’d never seen anything like it. But in the end, Namsu was banished from the celestial realm."
Relief washes over you at his words, the tension you hadn't even realized you were carrying leaving your body. "That's incredible.”
Jungkook shrugs slightly, but there’s an unmistakable look of pride in his eyes. "I’m just glad he has gotten what he deserves. Now you have justice." He places a gentle kiss on your forehead.
"And what about the others? The ones who have started to degrade?" Your heart clenches at the thought of them being punished for something beyond their control.
"They're safe," Jungkook assures you quickly. "The Thrones have promised to take care of it all. They're going to convene with Him, to see if the Heavenly teachings can be altered. Things are changing up there; I think it's all going to be alright."
You're overwhelmed with emotion, both relief and dread tugging at you simultaneously. It is good to know that things will be changing, but what is done to you has been done. And now, Jungkook has no reason to stay with you. You take a step back from him.
"What about you?" you ask quietly, barely daring to meet his gaze.
"What about me?"
"You have no reason to stay anymore. You can return to your normal duties. You did what was right, and everything is fixed."
"I did what was right, yes, and I'm sure things will be much better from now on," Jungkook agrees. But he steps forward, taking your hands in his and looking deep into your eyes. "But now, I need to do what's right for me."
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, my star." Your heart stutters at the endearment. "I'm not going anywhere. I want to be with you."
"But… you can only do that if you're—"
"Human, yes," he interrupts.
"Jungkook! You can't! You can't Fall for me," you half-shout, half-whisper. "You're a good angel, you—"
"Y/N." The force behind his voice stops you. "Even before you showed me the beauty of being human, before I knew how to feel, before I even knew what love was, I would have done anything for you.” His confession takes your breath away, and you wobble on your feet, moving a few steps back from him in your shock. “If you had simply asked it of me, I would have stood with you in the fires of hell for all eternity and still been grateful for each moment spent at your side."
The tears you were holding back begin to fall. "You would have?"
“I would. I can. I will.” He moves closer to you with each beat between words until he stands directly in front of you, only a hair's breadth away. Gently, hesitantly—as if for the first time—he takes your hand and presses it to his chest right above where a human heart would be. “Just say the words, and I will fall for you. I will forsake myself and turn my back on Heaven. The pain of losing my wings will be inconsequential compared to the pain of having to be without you.”
"W-what words?"
He smiles, eyes crinkling at the edges. "You know what I want to hear. Be honest. Even better, be selfish, like a human. Tell me what you really want, and I will oblige."
You hesitate. You have been fighting your feelings this entire time, so sure of the fact that Jungkook would choose to continue his life as an angel. You never wanted him to Fall for you, to be torn away from the life he has always known the way you were. But he deserves to make the choice himself. If he wants your honesty, you will give it to him.
"Speak, Y/N," Jungkook urges, his gaze never leaving yours.
"I want…" You begin slowly, your voice barely a whisper. "I want you. I want you to stay with me." He grins, relief clear in his eyes. "Then I will."
"But you shouldn't have to Fall!"
"Fall or not, it won't change anything," he assures you. "I chose this path before even knowing there was a choice. I chose you from the second we were created.”
"Even if that means giving up everything?" you ask.
Jungkook’s expression softens. He reaches up and tucks a wayward lock of hair behind your ear. "Does it seem like I’m giving up everything?" he muses aloud, his eyes never leaving yours. "Because from where I stand, it seems like I’m gaining everything.”
"Smooth-talker,” you laugh, a tear slipping down your cheek. He brushes it off with his thumb, his gaze softening even further.
For a moment, you just stand there, looking at each other. It's quiet except for your breathing and the sound of waves crashing against the pier. You have been so afraid of asking him to make this choice, and yet he seems so certain about it, as if it was what he wanted all along.
"Are you sure about this?" you ask him one more time, seeking reassurance. "Once done, there's no going back."
His answer is immediate, "I've never been more sure about anything in my life."
"This will change everything," you say again.
"I know," he replies simply.
"Come find me when it's over," you whisper, placing a gentle kiss to his lips. "I'll be at the shelter."
As you go to leave, you can't help but glance back over your shoulder at Jungkook, taking in the appearance of him and his wings one last time. He's still standing there, watching you go with love evident in his gaze. It quells some of your worries. And then you blink, and he’s gone.
Tumblr media
The hours that creep by feel like days. You busy yourself with meaningless tasks, cleaning the office, flipping through an old book left on the table, scrolling TikTok. None of it does anything to dull your anxiety, and you're weighing the pros and cons of tearing your hair out before you finally hear a knock on the door. You shoot up to your feet, heart pounding in your chest. Slowly, you open the door, and there he stands. "I'm here," he says simply. "As I promised."
You pull him into a hug once again, burying your head into his chest. You can hear the beat of his human heart and, unable to stop yourself, you burst into tears. You know the pain he just went through, can remember experiencing it yourself like it was yesterday, and you can hardly believe he went through something so awful to be with you.
"I'm sorry," you whisper, tightening your hold on him. "I'm so sorry."
"Don't be," he coos, gently stroking your hair. "This was my choice."
You swallow hard and pull back from him so you can look into his eyes, searching for any sign of regret. You find none.
"Are you okay?" You ask anyway, your heart aching at the thought of what he has given up.
"I am," he assures, his voice full of conviction. He leans down, pressing a soft kiss against your lips, and when he pulls away, he's smiling. "I wondered if doing that would feel different now that I'm fully human."
"And does it?" you ask, smiling back up at him.
"Yes," he admits, tracing an invisible line down your cheek, your neck, your collarbone. You shiver at his touch. "It feels more real. Stronger somehow. It's like you're the break of dawn after a long night."
Your breath catches in your throat. "Being human certainly hasn't changed the fact that you have a way with words."
"Only when it comes to you," he replies, his fingers never ceasing their journey across your skin. They make their way back to your waist, where he plays with the hem of your shirt. "There's one lesson we never covered, you know."
"A-and what would that be?" you squeak as his fingers caress the smooth skin of your stomach.
His voice drops lower, and he tugs you closer by your belt loops. "Human intimacy."
You flush at his audacity but don't pull away. "And what would be the best way for me to teach you about that?"
"Hm…" He leans down so that his lips hover over yours, and you can feel his warm breath with each word he speaks. "I think I would respond well to some hands-on practice."
Your heartbeat thunders in your ears as his lips press against yours in a slow, searing kiss that turns your knees to jelly. He takes his time exploring your mouth, his lips moving delicately against yours. His hands are warm on your skin, trailing up and down your back as he pulls you closer.
"Then I suppose we should get started," you manage to whisper when you finally break apart, breathless.
Jungkook moves into the room, closing the door behind him, and sits down on the edge of the pull-out bed. He stares up at you, his once-innocent doe eyes now dark and hooded with desire. You float towards him as if being pulled by a magnet, and he pulls you down so that you’re straddling his lap. Your hands rest on his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat under your touch.
"I think I should warn you," he says, hands sliding down to rest right above the curve of your ass, "I might be a slow learner."
You roll your eyes, a short, playful chuckle escaping from your lips. "I think I can handle that."
The room fills with an easy silence as you continue to explore each other, experiencing sensations new for the both of you. His hands trace every curve and dip of your body, his touch curious yet surprisingly confident. Your fingers trace the lines of his face, his jaw, his chest, and then find their way under his shirt to the newly-formed scars on his back. They are rough against your fingertips, a stark contrast to the rest of his smooth skin.
"You aren't in pain?”
“No,” he assures you, his hands sliding to a similar position on your own back. "Were you for long after?"
"No, but I'm still worried," you smile sheepishly.
He laughs and kisses your nose. "Don't be. Don't feel like you have to be gentle with me. I won't break."
You laugh in return, your eyes twinkling with delight and a touch of mischief. "Is that a challenge, Jungkook?"
He hums in response, his gaze never leaving yours. "Maybe."
His teasing reply only spurs you on. Rising to the bait, you lean in to kiss him, this time with a boldness that leaves him momentarily stunned. But he recovers quickly, matching your fervor and deepening the kiss. Your hands weave into his hair, pulling him closer, and his hips jut up against you almost involuntarily. You moan at the sensation, and he stills.
"What was that?" he asks.
"That," you breathe out, "is what human intimacy sounds like."
"I want to hear it again."
His lips find yours again and this time it's deep and demanding, all teeth and tongue and the promise of what’s to come. His hands grab your waist, forcing you to grind down against him as he once again lifts his hips up to meet your core. Another moan escapes your lips, the sound quickly swallowed by his hungry mouth. He tugs at the hem of your shirt, his fingertips skimming against the skin of your lower back. Eagerly, you lift your arms, and he pulls it off over your head.
"Jungkook…" you whimper, clutching at his shoulders. He responds by nuzzling into your neck, his hot breath making you shiver with pleasure.
"You're so beautiful," he murmurs against the curve of your neck, his lips tracing the column of your throat, down to your chest.
He places a gentle kiss above each breast before descending lower still, sucking one into his mouth. His lips and tongue move expertly, drawing gasps from you as your nerves ignite with pleasure. His hands are firm on your waist, holding you securely against him as he devotes himself entirely to exploring the new terrain, and you grind against him wantonly. You can feel that your panties are soaked with the proof of your desire.
"Jungkook," you say again, your hands tangling in his hair, pulling him closer. His name is a plea, a prayer. "I need more."
He pulls back, his lips swollen from his ministrations. "And so I'll give it to you."
You eagerly crawl off of him, shimmying out of your jeans, before settling with your back against the pillows. You grab at the air, beckoning him closer. He does the same, now only in his boxers, and slots himself on top of you, his bare skin against yours intensifying the burning desire coursing through your veins. His hard length presses against your core, and you whine.
"I don't know what I'm doing," he admits in a low voice, his hot breath fanning against your face as his eyes search yours for assurance.
You reach up, caressing his cheek. "It's okay," you soothe him, your hands then trailing down his back to rest on his hips, encouraging him closer. "We'll figure it out together."
His lips find your neck as his hands explore every inch of you, his rough fingers exploring the softness of your flesh. He slides one down over your stomach and lower still, feather-light touches teasing you until you're gasping beneath him. His fingers trace the edge of your panties before sliding the fabric down. You lift your hips, aiding him in removing the last barrier between you. He tosses them aside before returning his attention to you, his fingers skimming along your trembling thighs. His fingers move gradually, inching steadily upward until he's touching you where you're most sensitive. You let out a soft gasp, gripping the sheets.
"Is this okay?" he asks. You nod eagerly, unable to get the words out, and he chuckles, placing a gentle kiss at the base of your throat. "Good."
Always the over-achiever, he slides down your body until his face is level with your core, focusing intently on his work. His fingers move with a slow, calculated rhythm that quickly has you dripping for him. Eventually, he slips one of his fingers inside of you. Your breath hitches, your hands clutching at his shoulders for support.
"Am I doing this right?" he asks, uncertainty creeping into his voice as he looks up at you from between your thighs.
"You must be," you gasp out, encouraging him with a roll of your hips. "Don't stop."
Grinning, he adds a second finger, working you open until you're panting and squirming beneath him. Your back arches off the bed as his fingers work their magic, curling in just the right way that has you seeing stars. Praise tumbles from your lips, but you're sure that it just sounds like nonsense, your thoughts too muddled to form coherent words.
"You're so wet," he murmurs in a low, gravelly voice that only adds fuel to your desire.
Without warning, he lowers his mouth to your core, his lips and tongue joining his exploring fingers. The sensation is electric; your breath hitches, and an animalistic moan escapes you. He takes it as a sign of encouragement, doubling his efforts. Your fingers find their way to his hair, threading into the dark strands, seeking purchase. You can't help but pull, and he moans against you, the vibrations only furthering your pleasure.
"Jungkook," you warn, "I'm—"
A coil of white heat tightens within you before snapping. His name slips from your lips as you climax, sparks dancing behind your eyelids as he continues to pleasure you, eagerly lapping up your release. He doesn't stop, not until you physically pull him away from you, body shaking with overstimulation. He climbs back up your body, his lips finding yours in a gentle kiss. You can taste yourself on his lips.
"You okay?" he asks, his voice barely above a whisper.
His pupils are blown out with desire, his hair slicked back with sweat, and he's so attractive that just the sight of him has you clenching your thighs together.
You nod, cupping his face in your hands. "More than okay," you assure him. "That was amazing. Now," you slide your fingers down his chest, sliding over the waistband of his boxers. "Let's see what we can do about you."
You hook your thumbs around the fabric and pull them downwards, and he does the rest of the work, kicking them off. You reach down, your fingers tentatively wrapping around his cock. He gasps, his head falling forward against your chest as you begin to stroke him with a slow, measured rhythm.
He nearly whines, his grip tightening on your hips. "That feels… I can't…" His words dissolve into soft, broken moans as you continue to work him over.
Suddenly overtaken with need, you stop, pulling him in for another searing kiss. "I need you inside of me, Jungkook," you gasp against his lips, "Please."
Your hand guides him back to your core, and his breath hitches. “Are you ready?”
Nodding, you lift your hips to meet him. He pushes into you carefully, slowly, each inch an intense sensation for both of you. Your body clenches around him as if welcoming him home, a strangled moan escaping your lips. One of his hands clasps yours, bringing it to rest on the side of your head while he buries his face in the crook of your neck, his heavy breaths fanning your skin. He's shaking against you, and you feel just as overwhelmed.
You squeeze the hand that's holding yours, urging him on. "You're okay," you whisper, "I'm okay. Move."
He nods, pulling out almost all the way before thrusting back inside of you. Your body jolts at the sensation, gasping his name over and over.
"You feel incredible," he breathes out, the statement more for himself than for you. “So perfect.” Your fingers thread through his hair once more, pulling him down to meet your lips.
His hips set a steady rhythm, filling the room with soft sounds of skin on skin and heavy panting. He lets out a low groan as he adjusts his angle, hitting a spot inside of you that has you crying out and grabbing at him wherever you can reach. You wrap your legs around his waist, throwing your head back against the pillows.
"That's it," you whine, "Right there. It feels so good—"
Your words cut off into a choked moan as he thrusts into you at that exact spot again and again, his movements becoming more erratic. He's close—you can tell by the way his body tenses and how he gasps desperately into your mouth.
"I'm… I'm—" he stammers out, breath hitching between each word.
"I know," you gasp out, meeting him thrust for thrust. "Me too."
You pull him as close as possible, holding him to you as you both chase your release. Your eyes squeeze shut, and your nails dig into his skin as a wave of pleasure crashes over you, even more intense than the last. You moan his name as you come, shuddering beneath him. He moans into your neck as he follows you over the edge, his hips bucking uncontrollably as he buries himself deep inside you.
He collapses on top of you, burying his face in the crook of your neck, his heavy breathing tickling your skin. He stays there, nestled inside of you, his heart pounding against your chest, matching the rapid rhythm of your own. You feel dizzy, your senses overwhelmed by him—his scent, his taste, the feel of him on top of you and within you. You caress his back, slowly tracing the contours of his scars with gentle strokes, the action soothing for both of you.
Eventually, he shifts, carefully pulling himself out of you and collapsing onto his back next to you. His hand searches blindly for yours, lacing your fingers together once he finds it. He brings your joined hands up to his lips and places a soft kiss on your knuckles.
"Is… are you…" He lifts his head to meet your eyes, unable to form words.
"I'm more than okay," you assure him softly, brushing a stray lock of hair off his forehead.
"Good," he whispers, a contented sigh escaping him.
His eyes roam over your face once more before closing, his grip on your hand tightening ever so slightly. Together, you lay there under the sheets, and the silence goes on for so long that you almost think he fell asleep.
Then suddenly, you hear him say, voice barely above a whisper, "I love you." You look over to see him staring up at you with adoration in his gaze and a soft smile on his lips. "I know I don't have to say it since surely there can be no doubt that everything I have done for you is out of love. But I want to say it anyway. I want to continue saying it for the rest of my life. I have loved you since before I even had the capacity to feel it, and I will continue to love you until time ceases to exist."
His confession leaves you breathless, and you can do little but turn on your side, grab his face, and place a gentle kiss on his lips. Tears prick at the corner of your eyes, threatening to spill down your cheeks.
"I love you too, Jungkook," you whisper against his lips, "So very, very much."
He lets out an audible sigh of relief as if he had been holding his breath, waiting for your response. His free hand reaches out to caress your cheek, wiping away a tear that had managed to escape. "I knew you would say so, but I'm happy to hear it all the same."
The two of you get ready for bed, and, for the first time since commandeering Naomi’s office, you fall asleep together in each other's arms.
Tumblr media
The day you have been dreading has arrived—Christmas. Despite your initial hatred, however, you find yourself actually participating in the festivities around the shelter. Just like as many others do, you aren't going to consider it a holy day. You're going to use it as an excuse to be happy and spend time with your loved ones.
You join the group of children who sit by the pile of gifts, their excitement palpable as they eagerly wait for Naomi to declare it time to open them. Small hands tug at Jungkook’s sleeve, pulling him down to their level as they bombard him with questions about where he's been. He settles down amongst them, answering their questions as honestly as he can. His eyes meet yours over the sea of eager faces, and he stretches out a hand towards you, inviting you to join him. You sit right on his lap, making some of the kids giggle.
"Alright, everyone, it's time!" Naomi's voice echoes through the shelter, immediately quieting the children down.
As each name is called out and the kids scramble to collect their gifts, you can't help but smile. The pure delight on their faces is infectious. Noticing your happiness, Jungkook pulls you back so that you’re leaning against his chest, his arms wrapping around your waist.
He places a gentle kiss on your neck, murmuring, "You seem happy."
"I am," you say, placing your hands over his. "The holidays aren't so bad with you around."
"I'm glad." He turns your head so he can place a quick kiss on your lips, one that is light and soft and sweet, full of love. "Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas, Jungkook," you echo, smiling brightly.
Later, Naomi corners the two of you, pulling you aside. "I've been thinking about what to give you," she says. "I—"
"Naomi, you don't have to give me anything!"
"Don't interrupt me," she scolds, but there's no bite behind it. "Like I was saying, I was thinking it over, and I realized that the best gift I could offer is not anything material. From tomorrow on, you will officially be a supervisor. A paid supervisor."
Your eyes widen in surprise, and you glance at Jungkook, who is beaming at you with pride. You turn back to Naomi, stuttering out a response.
"B-but Naomi, I couldn't possibly—"
"Yes, you can," she interrupts, her tone firm. "From the day you arrived here, you have been working as hard as any of us. You deserve this." Before you can argue any further, she thrusts a small envelope into your hands. "Consider it an early Christmas gift and your first paycheck. And my office? It's yours."
"Thank you, Naomi," you manage, your voice choked with emotion. You pull her into a hug, hoping it can express everything you don't know how to say.
She pats your back, chuckling. "If anything, it's an excuse for me to take some time off. I'm getting old and need to start sharing the burden. Don't expect it to be a walk in the park!"
You pull away, wiping a stray tear from your eye. "Of course not. I'm ready to be worked to the bone, ma'am."
"That's what I like to hear," she comments, her voice carrying an undertone of pride. She turns to Jungkook, her gaze soft but words sharp. "Take care of her, will you?"
"Always," he replies without a moment's hesitation, which earns him a small nod from Naomi.
Eventually, the celebrations wind down and people start to retreat to their beds until only you and Jungkook remain. Instead of doing the same, you decide to return to the pier and watch the water for a bit, not ready for the day to end. The two of you walk in comfortable silence, hands linked tightly as if promising not to let go.
Sitting at the edge of the pier, Jungkook wraps an arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer to him. His body heat seeps into your skin, fighting away the cold, and you rest your head on his chest, letting his strong, steady heartbeat lull you into contentment.
"Who would've thought we would end up here?" you reflect, staring out at the ocean.
Jungkook laughs softly, his chest rumbling beneath your ear. "I don't think either of us could have predicted this."
"I never thought I would be happy that any of this happened, but I am. Are you?"
His gaze softens as he takes in the sight of you. "More than I could possibly put into words," he admits.
"Will you miss it, though? Heaven?"
"I thought I would," he says, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. "But Earth has its own kind of heaven. You're here. Naomi is here. The children are here. I have so much more yet to discover, to experience." His gaze returns to you, eyes soft and full of love. "How could I miss anything when I have all of this?”
Your heart swells at his words, his declaration warming you like nothing else could. You reach up to cup his face, your fingers lightly brushing his lips. His eyes flutter shut for a moment at your touch before opening again to hold your gaze.
"You're right," you whisper, your voice barely carrying over the sound of the waves. "This is our heaven. Here, with each other. And who knows, maybe we'll end up back there someday."
"You think?" Jungkook asks, raising an eyebrow. "I must say, I'm a little surprised hearing that from you. I didn't think you had faith anymore or wanted it for that matter."
You shrug. "Honestly, I don't know. I don't have my original beliefs anymore, that's for sure, but I don't resent it all like I once did, either. I think I've just found a new kind of faith. A faith in myself, in people, in goodness, and in love. There are so many different kinds of religions out there, and at their core, they're all about trying to understand the world around us, trying to find ways to cope and move forward. I think that's what I'm doing now, in my own way."
"That's beautiful," Jungkook says, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. "Somehow both simple and complex. Just like life itself, I suppose."
"And what about you, Jungkook?” you ask, pecking him on the lips. How will you move forward?"
"Honestly, I'm not sure, either. But I think I'm happy to find out, as long as it's with you."
You hold each other close, each hoping your touch can express what no words could possibly convey. Love. Gratitude. Hope. The promise of a shared journey. What more could you possibly ask for?

A carefree smile played on your lips as your head tilted to the side slightly, admiring the woman next to you, her beauty stunning you every time you saw her, the green meeting yours and softening. You couldn't stop yourself from letting your gaze flicker from her enchanting eyes to the gentle slope of her nose, that adorable nose scrunch that adorned her features, gaze eventually travelling to her auburn hair that framed her face perfectly, her teeth biting on her lower lip at your enamoured state.
Her fingers delicately wrapped around the tinsel in her hand, about to finish decorating the tree in front of you with the colourful and festive item, an idea entering her mind as you couldn't help but stare at her, love evident in your eyes.
Her hips swayed to the gentle music that played in the background, your eye noting every movement from her as her lips mouthed the words to the Christmas song playing, your smile widening as she gradually got closer and closer, the tinsel in her hand being thrown over your shoulder and wrapped around the back of your neck.
The flimsy material tickled the base of your neck as her body grew closer, her hands tugging on the item softly to bring your mouths closer, capturing your lips in a passionate kiss, a smile gracing your lips at her antics, your heart swelling with love, beating wildly in your chest at the feeling of her body pressing into yours.
"Are you going to carry on staring or are you going to help me now, Detka?" she teases when she pulls back from the kiss, stealing another tender one before peering into your eyes, having caught onto your plan.
You weren't the best at decorating trees, you could never decide on where or how to place the tinsel, how to organise the ornaments or even just untangle the array of knots in the Christmas lights, your cheeks tinting red at her look, smile shy.
"But you're just so much better at decorating than me," you murmur, hands wrapping around her waist to keep her close, lips pressing to her forehead to try and convince her to let you just admire the show. "You're doing a great job so far," you praise softly, eyes wandering to the side to admire the aesthetic and beautiful tree, her smile widening at your recognition of her hard work.
"Compliments aren't going to get you anywhere Moya Lyubov," she murmurs into another kiss, the two of you unable to resist one another, inevitably leaning in till your mouths moved together leisurely, savouring the soft moment. "You're helping," she says, tone adamant which makes you groan into the kiss slightly, having had fun just being an observer.
"Yes Ma'am," you grumble playfully, her hand smacking your behind teasingly as you move to grab a matching piece of tinsel, your mouth parting in shock at her action, her shoulders shrugging innocently, your lips naturally pulling up into a wide smile.
Obediently, you listen to every instruction that falls from her lips, reaching near the top end of the tree by standing on your tiptoes, tongue peaking out of your mouth as you concentrated, Wanda taking over your role and watching you with a tender gaze, the green overflowing with love as she observed your attempt to put the last piece of tinsel on.
A sigh of relief left you when you managed to get it on without bringing the tree down with you, like last year, Wanda congratulating you with a brief peck, cheeks tinted red at the domesticity of the moment.
You had thought after the tinsel you would be free but it turned out you were far from done, being told once again what to do as she directed you on where to place each ornament, your face expressing your clear indecisiveness as you would randomly stare at the tree, seemingly lost.
"Let me show you Detka," Wanda murmurs softly, body pressing into yours from behind as her fingers wrap around your hand, guiding you to the right place to put the small snowman figure, your breath hitching at her words, cheeks somehow darkening even more, a similar colour to the tinsel. "That's it, right there," she whispers, mouth near your ear making your mind run wild with sinful thoughts, eyes darkening when her fingers wrap around yours to place the snowman onto the tree, a sigh leaving you when she backs off you, retrieving another decoration.
You were lost for words when she acted normally after that, your body unable to control itself as warmth pooled at your lower abdomen at her raspy tone, the way her accent wrapped around her words delicately. Your mind was reeling with the thought of her, every innocent touch driving you mad as her hand would occasionally rest on your lower back to get past, fingers trailing down your arm, shoulder brushing yours, it was all too much, your face highlighting how flustered you were.
Wanda loved riling you up like this, her face poised and not giving away her intentions as she saw your eyes rake over her body hungrily, fingers twitching at your side and desperately wanting to touch her, to hold her in your arms and do whatever she asked of you.
"Can you help me with the star?" she asks, eyes softening as she waits for you to snap out of your thoughts, nodding and walking over to her, eyes drifting to her lips and watching how her tongue swipes over her bottom one, wetting it before her teeth bite down gently on her lower lip, the sight of her intoxicating.
"What do you need me to do?" you murmur, Wanda grabbing a chair to stand on as neither of you could reach the top of the tree, the other woman not wanting to injure herself.
"Just make sure I don't fall please," her tone soft as she offers you one more smile before climbing onto the chair, your hands hovering by her waist as the old chair wobbles slightly, concern evident on your face as you wanted her to be safe.
The worry soon switched to being flustered as her sweater rose up considerably, eyes naturally drifting down to the expanse of skin that was now on show. From where you were stood, you could see the beautiful curve of her hip, her toned stomach and the subtle signs of abs showing through, the small dip in her lower back as she stretched higher, placing the star at the top of the tree, your mind too busy fogging with arousal to pay attention to her hands.
"There we go," she says, tone cheerful and elated at finishing the tree, a festive joy taking over her as she looks down at you, your eyes gradually tearing away from her soft, enticing skin to meet her eyes, the green noticing how yours had darkened considerably.
You offered her your hand to get down, her stepping off the chair closer to your body than necessary, taking joy in watching you remain respectful and shy as always, knowing exactly how to drive you insane.
"Thank you Detka," she rasps out, peering up into your eyes with a dominant glint them, yours conveying your submission as you get lost in her mesmerising green, hands moving to rest on her lower back, sliding under her jumper hesitantly, always watching her reactions to your touch on her bare skin and the suggestive undertone to them.
"Is this-" you were cut off by her lips pressing to yours, mouth moving sensually against yours as you wrapped your arms more securely around her, pulling her impossibly closer as you groaned into her mouth, warmth flooding through both of you. Her hand fists into your jumper, pulling your body into hers as her legs hit the back of the sofa, your body lightly pinning her against the furniture while her tongue slides lewdly into your mouth, her lips tugging up into a smirk at the whimper that leaves you. "Wanda," you sigh out and it's nothing but submissive, pulling back from the kiss to gaze into her eyes lustfully, her simply refusing to part from the kiss and chasing your lips, pulling on your jumper once more to crash her lips back to yours, wet and wanting as your hands rest on the back of the sofa, bracing your body against her.
"Ah, ah," she tuts at your sigh, "Come on Detka, you know better than that," she teases, smirking into the messy kiss as you groan lowly, knowing what she meant. "You want to be a good girl for Mommy, don't you?"
"Yes," you immediately whisper out, tilting your head to deepen the kiss, her hands threading through your hair, ruffling it as she guides you back for another heated kiss, teeth nipping your lower lip to have you whine desperately, the throb between your thighs incessant.
"Yes what?" she reprimands, breath fanning across your lips before they're covered by hers once more, the kiss hot and feverish, your hands moving to clutch at her sweater as your head starts to spin with desire and arousal.
"Yes, Mommy," you correct, her fingers in your hair tugging your head back, your lust-filled eyes gazing into hers, Wanda's smirk growing as you look at her as if she were the only thing in the world.
"That's better," she praises, her fingers moving to caress your cheek, thumb moving to drag your bottom lip down, watching as you part your lips for her, letting her slide the digit into your mouth. Wanda couldn't help but groan at the warmth of your mouth, the way your tongue swirled around her finger, sucking on it just like she wanted you to, arousal swiftly building between her legs at your ever so obedient form. "You're just Mommy's little toy, aren't you Detka?" she husks out, pushing her thumb a little further into your mouth, cursing lowly at the way your eyes flutter closed at her dominance.
"Yes, Mommy," you whisper when she slides the digit out of your mouth, lips instantly pressing to yours once more, partly sucking on your lips and tongue to earn a sinful noise out of you.
"Mhmm my good girl," she rasps out, lips lingering open against yours, luring you into connecting them again, fingers pressing into her hip lightly. "Mommy wants to use this pretty little face of yours Detka, is that ok?" Your mouth parts to gasp softly at her words, mind completely clouded with arousal as it was hard to think of anything but her. All you could comprehend was how her fingers felt tugging on your hair, warm and wet mouth moving sensually against yours, body arching closer to yours and pressing into you perfectly, like the last piece of a puzzle. You couldn't get enough of her. She was an addiction.
"Please use me Mommy," you whimper out, Wanda groaning at your needy tone, her hands pushing your body back gently before guiding you around the sofa and onto it, gently pushing on your shoulders to sit back against the cushions.
Your hands reached out to her body as she grew closer, another displeased noise leaving her at your actions, hands firm on your shoulders as she kept you pinned to the sofa.
"No touching Mommy yet," she warns, your body naturally obeying her words as you settle against the cushions, eyes trained on every movement of hers.
Teasingly, her hands travelled down her body, eventually finding the hem of her sweater and dragging it up her body at a torturous pace, the soft, creamy skin from earlier being exposed to you once again. Your eyes drank up every inch of skin that was slowly revealed to you, memorising every little detail of her beauty, body seemingly sculpted by Aphrodite herself.
Your fingers twitched in anticipation as her breasts were soon revealed to you, the sweater finally being pulled over her head, her teeth biting on her lower lip as she admired your desperate form, waiting eagerly to please her like the good girl you were.
"Mommy," you whispered in an affected tone, gaze reluctantly leaving her bare skin, mouth desperate to mark it, to the various shades of green overflowing with dominance, pleading with her silently to just let you do whatever she wanted.
"Yes, Detka?" she teases, hands moving down her body sensually, attracting your gaze as they travel past her round and perfect breasts, gradually descending until they reach the waistband of her jeans.
"Please," is all you can manage as her fingers deftly unfasted the denim, hands pushing them down and showing off her long, slender legs, a visible wet patch visible on her panties making you groan, yearning to feel her body against yours. You wanted your head to be between her thighs, kissing every single part of her body before eating her out like you were starved of her, desperate to please.
"Patience Detka," she husks out, hand moving to the back of the sofa, supporting her body as it towered over you, your eyes unsure of where to look, frantically gazing at all of her before settling on her eyes, head tilted to look up at her. "Take them off for me," her words laced with dominance as your hands instantly went to her waist, body moving to the edge of the seat, eyes fixated on her face as you waited for her to nod, hands then drifting lower.
Your fingers deftly slide under the waistband of the lace adorning her hips, lips tentatively pressing to the soft skin you could reach, eyes looking up at her and gauging her reaction. When she didn't tell you off for it, your lips peppered kisses across her lower abdomen, fingers pulling the soaked fabric down her legs, gaze drifting lower to her dripping core, your mouth practically watering as you just wanted her to use your face like she said, to come on your tongue and moan your name in that desperate manner than drives you insane.
"Good girl," she praises when you pull the item off her completely, her body completely bare for you to admire and appreciate, hands caressing the delicate curve of her hips, lips nipping the skin softly, her fingers threading through your hair. She tugs your head away from her enticing skin, fingers sliding out of your locks to your jaw, resting on the underside of it as she guides your head up, peering up at her submissively. "On your back for Mommy," she purrs, your body moving to lay on the sofa, giving her enough room to straddle your face.
Your body practically freezes when she crawls above your body like a predator playing with its prey, eyes raking over your form, noting how your chest rises and falls in ragged breaths, the excitement and desire taking over you.
Once again, her fingers thread through your hair, your mouth parting at the sight of her core hovering over your face, arousal glistening in the light as you just wait, and wait, and wait for her to sink down on you, to give you both what you desperately want.
"Remember to tap my thigh three times to stop," she reminds, your mind swiftly thinking it would be mad to ever want to stop, nodding in understanding as your arms wrap around the back of her thighs, her finally lowering her hips down onto you.
A moan leaves you both when your lips finally meet her dripping core, the taste of her making you lightheaded and addicted, craving more of her as your tongue swipes through her folds, pleasure flooding through her body. Her fingers tighten their grip on your hair, nails scratching your scalp to create a dull pain while her thighs close around your head instinctively, your hands somehow pulling her even closer to you, the feeling making your head spin.
Her hips soon started to roll against your mouth, coating your chin in her slick as your tongue lapped at her clit, alternating before sucking firmly and swirling your tongue around her, sinful sound spilling from her lips.
"Oh Detka," she sighed out breathlessly, grinding her hips harder against you, earning a broken moan from you, fingers pressing into her hips and guiding her movements. "Just like that, that's it," her words encourage you, tongue sliding into her and heat pooling between your thighs at the amount of arousal that coated your mouth, the taste of her heavenly as you nuzzle your face closer to her.
Her thighs press harder against the side of your head, your tongue thrusting into her as best as you could before you settle on flattening it for her, occasionally moving your lips to wrap around her clit, sucking on it softly, teasing her slightly as you wanted to spend as long as possible under her like this.
"Fuck, you're making Mommy feel so good, so fucking good," her words went straight to your core, a sinful noise being ripped out of you, muffled against her core, the vibrations making her hips buck wildly against you, mouth parting to moan your name.
She couldn't help but cast her eyes down, groaning at the sight of you lose yourself within her, eyes fluttered shut as you took pleasure in eating her out like you needed her to live, ecstasy filling her mind as you continued to let her rock her hips against you, entranced by how she moved along your tongue.
When her hips rolled harder, her grip on your hair increased, the sting thrilling as you processed how lost in the pleasure she was, the pain worth it as you were just so mesmerised by her, obsessed with every reaction to your touch.
You longed to forever remember every hitch of her breath, every subtle twitch of her muscles, every tensing of her fingers in your locks as she rutted against your face, pleasure building in the pit of her core, swiftly pushing her closer to her release. Her moans gradually became louder and louder with each frantic thrust, arousal dripping onto your tongue as she was about to come undone at your touch, her head lolling backwards and showing off her sharp, defined jawline, neck straining as pleasure coursed through her.
"Fuck, I'm coming," her mouth parting as a guttural noise is dragged out of her from the back of her throat, thighs tensing around your head and momentarily smothering you, hips grinding down frantically against your tongue, pleasure and euphoria crashing through her body, her cum seeping out of her and into your mouth, the taste divine and making you crave more.
Her hips continued to rock against you, desperately chasing the last waves of her high, your tongue slowing down as she pants above you, body occasionally twitching at the sheer amount of pleasure and adrenaline flowing through her.
Eventually, her thighs release your head, letting you gasp and pant for breath, eyes fluttering open to meet her blissed out expression, hips lifting off you as her fingers softly fix your hair, her lips pulling into a caring smile as you stare up at her, a shameless smile on your lips as her arousal coats your lower face, mouth parting to say something.
"Mommy, please...Please can I have one more?" your words make her curse lowly under her breath, the sight of you adding to the arousal that floods through her.
"You wanna make Mommy come again?" she asks, still a little breathless from her powerful release, your head nodding as your hands caress the back of her thighs, lips peppering kisses along her inner thighs. "Go on Detka, show Mommy how good you are for her," she husks out, letting you flip the two of you over so her back was now against the sofa, hair sprawling behind her.
You settled between her legs, knees resting on the soft carpet under you while your arms wrapped around the soft flesh of her thighs, pulling her to the edge of the sofa so you could easily kiss her wet sex. You nuzzled your face into her core once again, lips wrapping around her clit and dragging out wanton noises out of her, each ragged breath engraved in your mind as her fingers grip the sofa beneath her, losing herself in the pleasure your mouth brought her.
Your hand moved to her inner thigh, spreading her open for you as your tongue licked a broad stripe up her centre, teasing her entrance before settling on her clit, switching between sucking and swirling over her sensitive core.
"Detka," she groaned lowly, head lolling against the cushions, back arching slightly when you teased a finger at her entrance, gradually sliding in it effortlessly. "Keep going," she sighs out, your digit curling against her weak spots and earning a small whimper, the sound intoxicating.
"Mommy," you moan into her core, thrusting your finger into her at a steady pace, altering the pressure of your mouth depending on how her hips try and roll against your mouth, her walls clenching around you desperately as the combination of you mouth and fingers swiftly pushes her towards the edge once again.
"Don't stop Detka, fuck," she moans out lewdly, sliding another finger into her and curling them both against her sweet spot, a broken sound leaving her as pleasure starts to blur her vision.
A guttural groan is soon ripped from the back of her throat, neck straining and jawline on show as she throws her head back, body being thrown into her second release powerfully, hips desperately rocking against your face. Her ragged breaths and the wet sounds of your mouth against her take over the room, her legs trembling by the side of your head, tensing around you and briefly closing around your head, trapping you in place as she rides the last waves of her release, pleasure coursing through her when she eventually collapsed onto the sofa.
Your lips pepper soft kisses against her inner thighs as her attempts to recover, your fingers tracing random patterns against her skin as you wait for her to look back down at you, your eyes admiring her, in awe of her beauty as she lays beneath you, chest rising and falling with heavy breaths.
Soft pants spill from her lips as she moves her fingers to your hair, pulling you back up so you were hovering over her body, hand quickly wiping the remnants of her arousal off your lower face before kissing her softly, her arms wrapping around your body, wanting to keep you as close as possible.
"I'm so proud of you Detka," she whispers lovingly, fingers gliding up and down your back in a comforting manner, eyes fluttering shut as she relishes in the soft and intimate moment, exhaustion creeping up on her.
"Thank you Mommy," you whisper against her lips, melting against her body briefly as you knew you would need to clean up soon and wash your face, as well as grabbing her some comfortable clothes to wear.
You savour the moment with her as long as possible before deciding you had to get up, kissing her forehead in apology as she grumbled at the lack of touch, your face softening as she looked up at you from the sofa, blissed out.
You rushed around to grab a cloth to clean her with and quickly cleaned your face, hands rummaging through drawers to find her an oversized hoodie and some new panties, wasting no time in returning to the living room, a soft and loving smile engraved on your lips.
Wanda couldn't help but let warmth flood through her chest at your always caring personality, tender with her as she grew tired, watching you return with the items, eyes widening.
Your foot caught on the wire connecting the Christmas tree lights, pulling on it abruptly making the tree sway to one side, fear taking over you at the small jingle and rustle of the ornaments swinging on the branches, a sheepish smile on your lips as you met her amused gaze, the tree only staying upright with the influence of a red wisp of magic.
"Come here before you ruin my hard work," she teases, a soft laugh leaving you as you care for her, lips meeting hers in a tender kiss.
"I helped too," you mutter against her lips playfully, her arms wrapping around you and pulling you down into a cuddle, her hoodie impossibly soft as your head rests against her chest, a smile plastered onto your face. "It was a joint effort," you mumble, her fingers sliding under your jumper to trace random patterns against your skin in a comforting manner.
"Ok Detka," she hums out in a soft tone, "Stay here so you don't ruin our hard work," she corrects, your smile growing that little bit wider, body cuddling further against her.
"That's better," you whisper, arms snaking around her body, "I love you."
"I love you too, Detka," she murmurs, tone laced with tenderness and affection as her legs tangle with yours, locking you in a lovers embrace.

The Mistletoe Tradition
Tumblr media
There was only one piece of decoration left in the box now—it was a dew-fresh mistletoe complete with a red ribbon. And you knew just where to put it.
With a smile, you danced over to Astarion and held the green plant above your head. The vampire spawn looked up, confused and flustered both at the same time.
“Wanna know what my favourite Yule tradition is?”
“I’m sure you’re about to tell me,” he purred.
“Whenever two souls are caught under the mistletoe, they have to kiss.”
Tumblr media
A/N: I’m not sure if Christmas/Yule is a thing in Faerûn but if it wasn’t… I sure made it a thing now! Worked in some of his actual quotes for it to be even more relatable because we're all simps, lol. Also using Yule and Christmas interchangeably here because I can. Merry Christmas to you all! ♥
Words: 2197
Warnings: fluff
“Jingle Bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way…” Humming to yourself, you rummaged through your bag to take a closer look at the items you had snatched on your journey today. A bag full of peanuts, perfect to still your hunger on the road, a new dagger you had taken from a corpse, for your old one was falling apart at the hilt, a letter from an Iron Fist written to Lord Enver Gortash himself, and—perhaps most importantly—a little snow globe you had found in an abandoned cottage. It wasn’t much but it was better than nothing and had definitely been worth Lae’zel’s eye roll.
You were headed towards Baldur’s Gate and decided to rest in the Elfsong Tavern where Gale, Wyll, and Halsin were currently discussing the price of a room to stay in for the next couple of days. The air smelled like mulled wine and pine cones, and the tables in the tavern were decorated with tree branches, candles and sliced oranges and cinnamon sticks. The atmosphere was lovely—festive. You leaned against Astarion with your cheek against his chest, a sigh escaping your lips.
The pale elf was quite used to your—at least by his standards—unusual behaviour by now. Well… sort of. He’d expected more hostility toward him after the night he tried to bite you, that much you knew. Instead, you’d offered to help and… huh, secretly drooled all over him.
He certainly knew what he was doing and you hated that it worked. You didn’t want to turn into a giggling and blushing mess in his presence and yet… that was exactly what happened. Every. Single. Day. You tried to hide it as best as you could but at this point, you were pretty certain that he knew you were a hopeless case whenever he was near. And once you’d started sleeping with each other… you had become putty in his hands entirely, desperate for his touch even when it wasn’t sexual.
You offered him a cuddling dose daily now and you never let go until he did.
“All right, everyone. We’re settled. The owner has agreed to give us one of the suites upstairs. It has thirteen beds, its own washing area, and a fireplace. I don’t know about you but I am knackered,” Wyll announced as he cracked his bones.
“You go ahead without me. I’d like to take care of something real quick. I won’t be long,” you said, the idea thundering through your head with a start having you beam from the inside out.
Gale lifted a hand as if to raise everyone’s attention before speaking. “I hope so! I have a perfectly hearty rabbit stew planned for supper.”
Tumblr media
It had taken the inn owner ten gold pieces and a lot of convincing to get you a Yule Tree. Was it important in midst of everything that was happening? Possibly not. Were you still humming Christmas songs yet again as you carried a small box full of ornaments and decorations up the wooden stairs to your room? Absolutely.
Gale was already cooking. They all knew the very moment you entered the room with it that the tree someone had brought up in the meantime was your doing. And now, while the others were getting ready to rest for the day, you began decorating the room as if you didn’t have a care in the world. And for just a moment, you pretended you didn’t.
You spotted Astarion glancing at you from the corners of your eye. He’d crossed his arms before his chest, looking as handsome as ever and even more so now with his hair still a little damp from getting the dust of the road off of him.
“Need something?” You smiled, noticing how he admired the pine cones dipped in molten silver and the delicious-smelling orange slices on the tree for just a second too long. The straw stars you were specifically proud of as you stood on your tiptoes and stretched to put the biggest one on the tip of the tree, completing your masterwork.
“Oh, don’t mind me… I’m just enjoying the show.”
You blinked at him, gnashing your teeth as you felt a treacherous heat creeping up your cheeks, for his gaze was by no means fixed on the tree anymore but your behind. At times it was still hard to believe this incredible elf was attracted to you of all people.
“Is this really necessary? I mean, really? You’re wasting our time and energy on decorating a tree?”
“Hey… we won’t know yet if that’s our last Christmas. I don’t mean to be pessimistic but you know just as well as I do that there is a good chance we won’t make it out of this alive. I might as well enjoy the little things until… I can’t. You never know. Besides, this is the first time in weeks we’re sleeping with a roof over our heads. We have beds and a fireplace. I would be silly not to decorate a little, especially with a recent murder right next door.”
“Well… I suppose… but don’t expect me to help you.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it, oh fangy one! I’m actually done and it looks absolutely amazing, if I may say so.”
Astarion scoffed—playfully so. It was then Halsin joined, admiring your tree up close with a second portion of stew in his hands.
“Well, I think it looks beautiful. There’s no better way to get into the festive spirit than with a little bit of nature in one’s home.”
You fought hard to hide the chuckle bubbling up your throat when Astarion rolled his eyes as soon as the druid turned away again.
“The man really can’t shut up about enjoying the freedom of nature’s gifts.”
You couldn’t help it. You burst out laughing. Needless to say, your companions’ shocked expressions made you cackle even more but perhaps the surprise on Astarion’s face was what brought you even more joy than the way he had mimicked Halsin.
“In the end, it won’t be the mind flayers who kill me. It’ll be you,” you choked out, wiping your eyes with the ball of your thumb. Gods, you were actually crying from laughter.
“Do they now?”
You grinned.
“Well… in that case, we better not risk the wrath of whatever god came up with it.”
“That would be Frigg, wife of Odin and mother of Baldur who never wanted the mistletoe to be forgotten again after Loki—“ You didn’t manage to finish your sentence for in the next moment, Astarion pulled you close and pressed his lips against yours. The kiss was a promise and a reward, a display of affection… and a small gesture of care warming your heart.
“How do you always do that?” you murmured against his mouth, breaking the kiss just long enough to draw a deep breath. “Leave me wanting for more? Tempting me?”
“Tempting you, hmm? Well… You know what they say… the only way to cure a temptation… is to give in to it.”
A little squeak escaped your lips before you could stop yourself. You pressed your lips together to a thin line, eyes wide as your hand flew up to your mouth to cover it. But of course, Astarion had heard you. Amused, he quirked an eyebrow.
“What was that?”
“N-nothing.”
“Really? Because I think I heard quite the delectable little noise coming from your lips just now.”
“N-no. Oh gods, you have to stop this. I will melt, Astarion. I will literally melt and then you can go get a mop and wipe me up!”
Astarion laughed, surprise mixing with delight. “Oh, darling, I could go all night… as you well know,” he purred.
Another squeak. He’d caught on to it now, of course—that the reason for those inhumane sounds escaping your body was all his doing. Oh, for fuck’s sake…
“Okay, that’s it.” Arms akimbo, you narrowed your eyes at him. You were all but flustered when you grabbed the collar of his shirt with such vigour, the tiniest hint of surprise and hesitation flittered across his face before his smug smirk returned and you kissed him yet again, longer and more passionately this time.
“You really will be the death of me” you breathed against his lips. “It’s a nice way to go though, I won’t complain.” The urge to rip off his clothes there and then grew stronger with every passing second. You knew he wasn’t ready yet, despite his relentless teasing and you’d be the last person to push him but… judging by how he wrapped his arms around your waist yet again and pressed you closer to his body yet again, a heartfelt kiss was never off limits.
You sighed against his lips, the mistletoe dropping to the ground. Only the gods knew what would have happened if you had not been interrupted despite your fellow companions still in the room but alas, the door burst open with a bang so loud you both flinched.
“This… is… AWESOME!” When Karlach entered the room, she was wearing the ugliest Yule sweater you had ever seen. Tinsel and two baubles were hanging from her horn and in her hands, she held a massive candy cane and a mug of what you assumed was eggnog. “I LOVE Christmas! Oh, you got us a tree! We should go and buy presents for each other to unwrap tomorrow!”
“Karlach, please, it’s late and I’m tired,” Astarion complained.
“Fiiiine, tomorrow morning then. A kid downstairs just told me about this fat guy called Santa who climbs through the chimney and puts gifts under the tree if you leave him cookies and milk. Do we have cookies and milk? We have to get cookies and milk!”
You laughed. In that case… you certainly had a long night ahead of you before you could get a good night’s sleep.
Tumblr media
Everyone was fast asleep by the time you got up and tiptoed across the cool floorboards on naked feet in the dark, past the crackling fire in the centre of the warm and cosy room, and toward Astarion’s bed. You could hear the wind blowing outside the tavern in the dead of night as you climbed under the covers and cuddled up to your lover who had, without a doubt, been expecting you. Astarion wrapped you in his arms, his lips grazing your bare neck ever so slightly.
“Hello, darling.”
At peace and content, you both listened to the instruments Gale enchanted to play quiet music to lull you all to sleep.
“Well, aren’t you brave, revealing your lovely neck to a vampire like that?”
You chuckled into his pillow, stretching even more.
“You know… I think we’re past the point now where I have to tell you each night that you can… I mean… if you’re hungry just… feed on me, alright?”
“R-Right.” For a moment, a both vulnerable and surprised expression washed over his handsome face—but it was gone before your memory could properly capture it, not to mention the darkness around you made that very difficult. He was so incredibly good at masking his feelings, that you longed to cuddle the shit out of him and tell him that it was all going to be okay. “Well… I’ve only just learned how wonderful it feels to have a choice and have your boundaries respected, all thanks to you. I’d actually prefer if you asked.”
So instead, you settled for wriggling yourself under the covers until he stirred.
“That’s… that’s good. That’s very good,” you whispered as you cuddled up to him even more.
“So? Can’t you sleep or are you just too excited until morning to see me again, love?”
You chuckled. “Your bed is more comfortable than mine.”
In the dark, it was hard to tell whether Astarion’s confusion was real or feigned. It was amusing nonetheless. “You will find that all the beds in this room are the same, pet.”
“No. No they aren’t. Mine doesn’t have you in it.”
“Oh… my cheeky little pup.”
Your chuckle turned into a childish giggle as a jolt of electricity rippled through you as if Gale had hit you with a lightning blast.
“You know exactly what you’re doing to me, don’t you?” you whispered.
Astarion hummed in response. “Well… yes. Though I have to admit I have never met anyone displaying their excitement as openly as you, darling.”
“I’ll make sure to never stop. Merry Christmas, Astarion.”
The vampire spawn sighed when you shuffled even closer and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek.
“Merry Christmas, love.”

A/N: And Merry Christmas to you all as well! ♥ I had to dedicate this year's Christmas Imagine to Astarion. I fell so hard for him thanks to Neil, it's insane. I hope you'll spend some lovely days with your loved ones! ♥

it's almost christmas so i'm gonna post a bunch of holidays related posts. enjoy!
Tumblr media
"that's the ugliest mug i've seen in my life." you frown at your boyfriend. he looks at the cup, then at you, "what are you saying? it'll be perfect for shoko." he brings the mug near your face, showing you the weird cup he chose for some reason.
you slowly shove his hand away, being careful so the mug doesn't fall out of his hand, "why do you think she'll want this?" you turn away from him, walking away while scanning the shelf for some cute mugs for your little collection.
"she can have her morning coffee in this.. or her morning beer." he sighs, holding your arms to make you turn back to him, "come on, don't you think it's cute?" you scrunch your face in disbelief, "baby.. look at it. why would i find a weird mouse with glasses on it cute?"
he looks at you, rolling his eyes before putting the mug in your cart, "whatever i'm getting it. if shoko doesn't like it, i'll take it for myself." you chuckle, shaking your head, "i don't even wanna debate with you on this any more."
he winks at you, putting the mug in the cart before pushing it and walking ahead of you, "i'll also get her a bottle of her favorite wine. i'm not a bad friend." you both walk along the shelves, looking through the decors and the things they have on sale, mainly looking for some items you could gift your friends.
"shopping for gifts is so damn hard." you groan, pushing your hair away from your face. you grab the candle from shelf to smell it, "do you like it?" you move it to geto, for him to smell. "not bad, but not something i wanna smell."
you slap his arm as you laugh, putting it back and grabbing two of your usual ones, "you are so weird." you put the candles on the cart and walk ahead, geto following you behind, "what would little girls wanna get as a gift?"
you hmm, thinking about what would be good for nanako and mimiko, "i don't really know.." your boyfriend scoffs, "come on, weren't you a little girl once?"
you scoff, continuing your walk and ignoring his comment, "i'm their favorite anyways." you mumble, but loud enough for him to hear. "keep telling yourself that, pretty."
you stop, turning around to face him with a groan, "why are you getting on my nerves today?" he chuckles, coming close to you to cup your face between his palms, "don't be so angry. i'll give you the mouse cup if shoko doesn't like it."
you snicker, pushing his hands away from your face, "i'm telling you she won't like it. and i don't need that thing either." you see a little pout on his lips before it's replaced with a smug smile, "if it was satoru, he'd love it so much."
you hang your mouth open, shaking your head before turning back to walk ahead, "should've came with him instead of me then." you hear him laugh behind you, quickly catching up to you so he could walk besides you, "kidding baby."
"speaking of him, what should i get him?" you look at him, "what are you getting him?"
"legos." he turns to look at you, "will keep him from bugging us." you let out an amused chuckle, "just for a while though." he shrugs, "a moment of peace for us. what are you thinking of getting him?"
"ugh i don't know. he'd be happy with just some chocolates. but i'm thinking of waffle maker... with some recipe book?" you let out a breath, flipping your hair, feeling proud, "look at me i'm so thoughtful."
"oh yes, you are so thoughtful." you roll your eyes at his sarcastic tone, "at least i don't just get  a weird mug as a gift."
"oh my god, will you stop attacking the poor mug already?"

Hands Off of Me, Please
Tumblr media
So this is a bit outside of the usual for this series as I don’t really make it smutty, but I still wanted to write Bucky being more of a typical alpha. Not sure how well I did that, but I still like the story, so I decided to share it. Divider courtesy of @firefly-graphics. Make sure to check them out!
Tumblr media
Pairing: alpha!Bucky x omega!reader
Summary: After getting a few "fun" toys to enjoy with your alpha, another alpha decides to make himself a temporary nuisance.
Warnings: A/B/O, alpha/omega, implied smut, sexy time toy shopping
Word Count: 962
Tumblr media
A quick, sweet kiss was all you shared with Bucky before, much to his reluctance, you went your separate ways through the mall. Christmas was only a few days away and you had some last minute gifts to get, a few of them for your alpha. This was why you needed him anywhere else.
The holidays were always exciting for you. The omega in you sang in joy at getting to give others presents that brought them joy and happiness.
And thankfully, due to Bucky being an as needed Avenger, you got to do your shopping on Tony’s dime.
You were leaving from buying high quality pencils and charcoals for Steve’s not-so-secret secret love of drawing and on your way to get one of your alpha’s last gifts. The whole trek, you were internally preening at how festive you’d finally finished making your apartment.
The whole compound was decorated, but you’d made sure to do the same in your living space. Warm white strands of Christmas lights were swirled around garland that lined each doorway. Your personal tree that was just taller than Bucky was wrapped in the same lights with a collage of traditional red bauble ornaments and cute ornaments that marked moments in life. Your favorite one was the picture frame of your first Christmas together.
A mixture of Christmas music from both modern day and his era played when you both wanted background music. Your alpha had turned his nose up at Mariah Carey at first, but you saw the reluctant amusement as you bounced, swayed, and acted out how all you wanted for Christmas was him.
You blinked back into reality as you entered the adult store. The omega in you protested going in, knowing your alpha wouldn’t want you possibly around other alphas that had sex on the mind, but you really wanted to get Bucky his last gift.
And that meant pushing your omega’s hesitancy and following through with your shopping.
You grabbed a basket and browse through the items on your way through. The bit of brat in you couldn’t resist grabbing a candle on your way past it. The label that said, “When this candle is lit, gimme that dick!” was too tempting and you knew would provide a good laugh.
After selecting a few more things for fun times, you picked up what you’d aimed for: a plug.
Bucky has whines often that he couldn’t knot you on work mornings, since it would make him late for training, but he hated that you only carried an underlying smell of him. You were mated and bonded so your scents did combine, but you both still had your own primary scent above it your partner’s. Expect post coitus. Then, anyone near you could smell your alpha on you.
This was what led you to research solutions to this problem. A plug that would hold his cream inside you like his knot would.
After picking a black and gold one, naturally to match his vibranium arm, you proceeded to check out. Your experience had been good until then.
Just as you were exiting the store, an arm grabbed yours, halting you in your tracks. “What interesting choices you bought, and as an omega no less. You must be fun in the sack.”
The slimy voice was as grating to your senses as the strong alpha scent of burned rubber and gasoline fumes. Your lips pulled back in a snarl as you tried unsuccessfully to snatch your arm out of his grip.
“Hands off of me, please,” you growled through clenched teeth. Your anger doing nothing but making the smile on his face grow wider.
“I think I’d rather explore those toys with you, omega.”
Before you could fully give into the panic that was starting to sweep through you at the realization of what this strange alpha wanted to do with you, a gloved hand that made a whirling noise gripped the alpha’s wrist.
“I believe my omega told you to remove your hand.” Bucky’s snarl reverberated around you all as rage radiated in the dominance your alpha immediately began projecting. You weren’t sure if it was the pressure Bucky was using or the alpha had some sense of self-preservation, but the hand quickly released your bicep.
Moving you behind him with his flesh palm against your hip, you smiled contentedly as your alpha exuded every bit of the dark danger he could be. None of the sweet, docile, gentle alpha he was with you could be seen outside of his soft hold on you.  The pair stood staring at each other, aggression in each line of their bodies.  You never really saw Bucky like this: standing at his full height, tension lining each inch of him, every muscle ready to strike and defend his mate.  After a few moments of the alpha's sizing each other up, testing who was radiating more dominance, the stranger bowed his head in submission.  “Get lost,” Bucky growled.
Thankfully, the other alpha did. Turning on his heels, concern battled with anger in his gaze as your soldier asked, “You okay, ‘Mega?”
“I’m more than fine, Alpha. Thank you for saving me.”
“Always.” He pressed a soft kiss to your forehead before looking down at you, a fire in his eyes. “I need you,” he growled as he pressed his nose against your neck, inhaling sharply. “You don’t smell strongly enough of me.”
Grinning excitedly, you whispered, “I saw a bathroom four stores down that had an out of order sign on it.”
And that’s where you spent the next several minutes with Bucky deep inside you against the wall as you both kept your faces into each other’s necks and shoulders. You to muffle your cries of ecstasy and him to quiet his words of loving possessiveness.

The day, overall, has been extremely successful: Christmas tree hung up and decorated—no one got hung up and tangled in the cords or tinsel. Presents bought for friends and family were now wrapped elegantly—with very little wrapping paper left, so maybe you should have bought an extra roll just in case. The fire had been stoked to a perfect, crackling warmth.  Everything has been checked off your to-do list for the day, and you are rather proud of yourself.
Choi Beomgyu, on the other hand, seems to have one more item left on his list.
“Love!” he calls from somewhere else in the house. You nestle further into the armchair, a fuzzy blanket wrapped around you and a book delightfully heavy in your hands. Maybe, if you ignore him, he’ll let you go back to your book.  Maybe, just maybe, he’d— “Y/N!”
“Y/N’s not here right now, Gyu, leave a message.”
You hear him scoff in the distance, and you could easily imagine the eye rolling that often accompanied such an act.  “Not true!  Can you come here, please?”
“Where is here?” you ask, slowly becoming absorbed back into your book.  Just a few more pages, and you’re sure you’ll be here, in this chair, with this blanket, by the warm fire, all night long.
Beomgyu, however, had other plans.  “Y/N!”  His voice was suddenly closer now, and a little more desperate. You sink even lower into your chair.  Maybe, if he doesn’t see you right away or, better yet, can’t find you, you could get away with not responding.  You turn the page delicately, paper thin beneath your fingertips, and a figure pops out from behind the back of the chair and into your field of view.
“Hi,” Beomgyu says in the way that always gives you butterflies, staring down at you, hair falling away from his face. “C’mere.  I have something to show you.”
“Is it important?” you ask, already uncurling yourself from the blankets and bookmarking your page.
He reaches for your hand. “Would I keep bothering you if it weren’t?”
“I guess not,” you mutter. You take a moment to stretch, eyes closed and arms above your head. When you come back to, Beomgyu’s already out of sight, vanished to where he wanted you to follow.  “Gyu? Where’d you go?”
“Over here!”
“Where is here?” you ask again, attempting to follow his voice through the halls.  You find your way at the front of the house, near the foyer, the Merry Christmas banner hung on the stair railing waving slightly, with your boyfriend standing by the door. Beomgyu, a giddy almost infectious smile on his face, walks you backwards until you are standing under an archway a few feet away.  “Beomgyu, what are you—”
“Look!”  You follow your boyfriend’s gaze up and up to see—
“Mistletoe?  Really?” You drop your gaze, but Beomgyu’s smile is electric now.
He takes your hands in his, leaning towards you.  “It’s tradition, love,” he reminds you, mischievous glint in his eye. As if this is something that needed reminding or refreshing. “We’ve got to kiss under the mistletoe.”
“Oh, we do now?” you drawl.  “We wouldn’t want to break tradition, would we?”
Beomgyu hums, shaking his head with a fake serious look on his face.  He closes his eyes, leaning in, and you’re about to go along with it until you decide he isn’t the only one who gets to have at least a little fun.
“Hey...”  Beomgyu’s lips part in a disappointed pout as his eyes open to stare at you in sad shock. His fingers come up to press his cheek where you’d placed a gentle kiss.  “That’s not—”
You shrug, a sweet, innocent smile on your own lips.  “You just said we just had to kiss, you didn’t say where,” you say.  Beomgyu’s eyes race around, processing your words internally, and when his eyes settle back on you, sad and dejected, it’s because he knows he can’t argue.  He nods, defeated, turning away so he could finish decorating the foyer.
You look up at the mistletoe, simple with a silver jingle bell, then back towards your sulking boyfriend.  You can’t tell if he was acting or actually feeling that way—and with him, you figured, it was a good mix of both.  You lean against the archway, watching as he unboxes strings of Christmas lights that he’ll hang around the frame of the front door.
You purse your lips, thinking.  It had been kinda cruel—not that he didn’t, on several occasions, deserve it.  But, with his pout still in place and the way he avoids your eyes whenever he turns your way, you can’t keep up your façade any longer.  You love him so dearly, and his pouts and silly antics.  It’s what makes Beomgyu, well, Beomgyu.
Looking at your feet, you find a piece of lost decorative foliage and toss it up into the air, gently striking the jingle bell before floating down to the ground.  Beomgyu spins around, eyes darting from the mistletoe to you, still standing beneath.
You shrugged again, hands clasped behind your back.  “Seems like I’m under the mistletoe,” you say dreamily, avoiding his gaze. “If only someone would show up and kiss me.  It is tradition, after all.”
Beomgyu laugh, and you did too, pulling him in by the wrist as soon as he got close enough.  You sigh gently as his hands go to your waist, your arms around his neck. “Sorry for being cheeky earlier,” you apologize
“Quite literally, I might add,” Beomgyu replies, puffing out his cheeks.
“Yeah, and you’re so cute when you’re pouty,” you say, lightly tapping his lips with your forefinger.
Beomgyu smiles, tilting his head to the side as he draws you even closer.  “What are you talking about?” He grins, and it’s devious. You know you’ll pay for this later, and you’re okay with that. “I’m always cute.”
He leans in, pressing his lips to yours in a short kiss that still makes your head spin. He pulls back, and he looks like he’s about to say something, when he leans in to kiss you again. It’s more passionate, fierce, and you gasp when he dips you, arms strong and secure against your back. You start laughing, and Beomgyu uses this as an excuse to plant ticklish kisses down your neck.
When he pulls you back up, your arms still tight around his neck and laughter on your lips, he kisses you again, softly, as if you’re his most prized possession. “But,” he adds quietly, smiling even wider, “I do believe you’re even cuter.”

You brought your hand up, tapping your knuckles against the door of your soon-to-be home. The hinged barrier swung open, revealing Seonghwa, the owner of the apartment.
"Hi. It's Y/n. We went out for coffee last week to talk about me possibly being your new roommate." You told him.
"Yes, I know. I called you yesterday saying you could move your stuff in."
"Right." You chuckled, nervously. "I don't know why I said that."
"It's fine. Do you need help?"
"Yes, please. It's not much, but it'll take me a while to move it all by myself."
Seonghwa stepped aside, allowing you to roll your suitcase inside.
"Wow. This place is nice. Very spacious." You commented.
"Thanks. Let me show you to your room."
You followed him down the hallway to the empty bedroom that would soon be full of your stuff. When you saw an ad for the opening online, you were quick to contact Seonghwa because you heard the room was mostly furnished. There was a queen sized bed that just needed sheets and a comforter, a few shelves and a desk. Just the basics, but it was enough for you.
You thanked Seonghwa and placed your suitcase by a wall before leading him to your vehicle where he helped you take out boxes, carrying them up to the apartment.
As much as you wanted to talk with him and get to know your new roommate better, you couldn't. Carrying the boxes from your car and to the apartment left you breathless.
Seonghwa walked behind you, his eyes catching sight of writing on the box he was carrying. Glancing around the side, he saw the words CHRISTMAS STUFF scrawled on the box in bold sharpie. His top lip curled in disgust. Just thinking of the holiday made him want to hurl. Too much cheer, too much happiness, too much music, and too much for him. You seemed like a nice person, so he tried to give you the benefit of the doubt and attempt to look on the bright side.
She's just got this one box. She's probably not one of those overly cheerful people who are obsessed with Christmas. He thought.
You let out a huff as you set down the last box.
"Finally. Thank you for helping out."
"No problem. I'll leave you to it. If you need any assistance, just let me know."
"I will. Thanks."
Seonghwa gave you a small nod before closing the door and leaving you to yourself.
"Okay." You rubbed your hands together. "What first?"
It didn't take long for you to get settled in. Before you even knew it, you had all your boxes empty and everything was put together. You had your sheets and comforter on the bed and put all your little knickknacks and other items onto the shelves. You smiled to yourself as you took a gander around your new room. Thought you had just moved in, the place was honestly already starting to feel like home.
You had been staying with Seonghwa for almost a full month now. It was nearing the end of November and you couldn't help but notice the lack of Christmas decorations in the apartment. Normally, people would have their trees and decorations up by now, but the whole pace was bland and didn't give off any holiday cheer at all.
"I noticed you don't have any Christmas decorations." You mentioned as you waited for yours and Seonghwa's ramen to cook.
"I'm not really a Christmas person." He answered.
"Oh." You frowned. "Well, to each their own."
As you stirred the noodles in the pot of boiling water, an idea popped into your head.
You decided right then that you were going to take it upon yourself and decorate the apartment, making it look festive for the holidays.
The next day, you left to go Christmas shopping. You had brought a few Christmas decorations with you from home, but it wasn't enough—you needed more.
A few hours later, you returned to the apartment with an armful of bags. Thankfully, Seonghwa didn't seem to be around as you lugged the newly purchased items to your room.
Once you had everything unpacked, you started to decorate, stringing garland along the shelves in the living room, placing little nutcrackers along the windowsill, all while listening to Christmas music.
You hummed along as you strung tiny fairy lights across the coffee table, maneuvering them around the tiny reindeer and snowmen figures.
You heard a door open, followed by the shuffling of feet. Turning around, you saw Seonghwa standing at the end of the hallway that connected to the living room. You thought he wasn't home, but it appeared he had been in his bedroom the whole time.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Decorating." You answered with a smile. "I didn't think you'd mind."
"I don't love it." He answered. "But you live here too, so I guess it's fine."
"Ah. Good." You turned your attention back to the task at hand, bobbing your head to the festive music.
You heard Seonghwa's soft footsteps for only a moment before the sound ceased.
"Could you turn off that noise?" Seonghwa asked, seeming a bit irritated.
"Oh. Sure. Sorry."
"It's fine." He muttered, walking out of the room.
You did what Seonghwa asked and turned the music off, opting for headphones so you could listen in peace and enjoy the music without disturbing him. His reaction kind of stunned you. He said he wasn't a Christmas person, but his reaction almost made it seem like he hated the holiday. You didn't think about it too much, as you still had a box of Christmas stuff from your house to put up.
By the time you were done decorating, the place had a cozy and festive feel to it, one that made you feel warm inside. Seonghwa may not care much for Christmas, but there's no way he can't like the bright and festive decorations you put out. A proud smile spread across your face as you admired your handiwork.
Seonghwa returned to the room, walking over to the wall where you had hung two stockings. His face scrunched in distaste as he lifted one of them up.
"What is this?"
"That's your stocking." You told him. "It has your name on it."
"Well, I don't want it."
"What? I painted our names on the stockings myself."
"I didn't ask you to get me a stocking."
"You didn't have to."
He grumbled in response.
"You know, it's proven that Christmas decorations lift your mood." You told him.
"Not mine."
"We'll see about that."
A few days later you and Seonghwa were sitting in the living room watching TV. Your eyes drifted from the screen to a huge empty spot in the living room. As happy as you were that you decked the place out with Christmas decor, something was missing.
"We need a tree." You commented aloud.
"No we don't. What you did is plenty."
"Come on, Seonghwa. You can't have Christmas without a tree."
"If you wanna go, by all means, knock yourself out, but I'm not going."
"Don't be such a Scrooge." You ruffled his hair playfully. "Plus, I could use an assistant to help choose the perfect tree."
Seonghwa gave you a hard glare, but stopped when he saw the bright expression on your face. As badly as he wanted to say no, he couldn't.
"Alright, fine. If it'll make you happy, I'll go." He gave in.
"Wonderful!"
Once the both of you were all bundled up, you jumped in the car and drove off to the nearest Christmas tree farm.
"There it is!" You pointed.
You pulled your car into a parking space and stepped out into the lot. A sign at the entrance of the tree farm read: Get your Christmas trees here! You hurried across the small parking lot, Seonghwa dragging behind. Closing your eyes, you took in a deep breath, enjoying the scent of the trees.
"Do you smell that?" You asked.
"Not really." Seonghwa muttered.
You ignore his response, scanning the selection of evergreens.
"Let's look at this tree." You pointed. "It looks really nice."
You walked over to said tree and began inspecting it, running your fingertips along some of the the needles as you walked around the fir. Upon inspection, you shook your head.
"There are some dead limbs on here. We don't want that."
"Of course we don't." Seonghwa remarked sarcastically.
You continued your search, passing by trees that didn't catch your eye. You finally came to a stop when you spotted the perfect tree. It was the perfect height, not too tall, but not too short either. The fir was perfectly healthy and had deep green needles.
"This is the one." You stated.
Glancing around, you called one of the employees over, showing him the tree you wanted.
"Alright. We'll get it all wrapped up for you." He told you before walking off.
As you waited, you spotted a man dressed as Santa Claus sitting in a large, red chair under a small awning. There were no kids around, so you decided to have some fun.
"Hey Mr. Claus." You greeted the man as you approached.
He smiled warmly. "Hello, young lady. What would you like for Christmas?"
"Oh." You were surprised he asked. "I didn't expect that." You chuckled.
"Why? You're never too old to get a Christmas present from Santa."
You smiled, then began to think about what you wanted. You knew Santa wasn't real and that this wish couldn't be fulfilled, but you wanted to tell the man anyway. You leaned in, whispering something in his ear.
"Oh a very kind wish." He responded with a nod.
His eyes trailed over to Seonghwa who was watching you from a distance, a soft expression on his face and a slight twinkle in his eye.
"I have a feeling it'll come true." Santa told you.
Oblivious to Seonghwa's staring, you gave the man in red a gentle smile.
"We'll see."
You returned to your grumpy roommate who put on his usual sour expression when you walked up.
"What was that?" He asked.
"Oh. I was just talking to Santa." You answered with a shrug. "I thought it would be fun."
"Aren't you too old for Santa Claus?"
"Apparently not." As you answered Seonghwa, you spotted a small stand nearby serving hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies.
"Ooh. They're selling hot chocolate. You want some?"
"I don't know."
"You're seriously gonna turn down a delicious, hot, chocolatey drink? It's chilly out here. A hot cocoa would warm you up."
"Alright, fine. I guess I'll have one."
"Perfect." You smiled and headed over to the small stand, ordering two medium hot chocolates.
The man working at the stand had your drinks ready before you knew it. You started rummaging around in your bag for cash only to stop with you saw Seonghwa reach across the counter with money in his hand. You glanced up at him, but he kept his gaze ahead as he grabbed his drink. You followed suit, taking your beverage. The warmth from the liquid seeped through the cup, radiating onto your cold hands. You took a sip, the sweet, cocoa coating your tastebuds and warming you from the inside out. You let out a hum of satisfaction before taking another sip.
"Thank you for paying. You didn't have to, but I appreciate it. That was very nice."
"It's no problem." Seonghwa answered as he sipped on his cocoa.
About that time, one of the tree farm employees approached you to let you know the tree was ready. Behind him were two other employees with your tree resting on their shoulders.
"Thank you so much. My vehicle is this way." You motioned, leading the group to your car.
They tied the tree snugly to the roof, ensuring that it didn't fall off on the trip home. You paid the man who you spoke with about the tree and bid him goodbye, wishing him a Merry Christmas as you left.
"This stupid tree is making a mess." Grunted Seonghwa. "Look at all these pine needles."
"That's just part of it. We can always clean it up later." You told him, reaching for another ornament. "Why don't you help out?"
"I'm not decorating."
"At least put this one on."
Seonghwa sighed, pushing himself up from his spot on the couch. When he reached for the ornament, he stopped. Pinched between your fingers, hanging from a silvery string was an ornament of Toothless the dragon. Seonghwa blinked a few times before bringing his eyes up to meet yours.
"What do you think?" You inquired with a bright smile. "He reminds me of you, so I thought it was fitting that I buy it."
He didn't answer—he couldn't.
"Oh. Check this out. I got one for myself too." You pulled out another ornament, this one depicting the Light Fury.
If Seonghwa's eyes weren't wide already, they sure were now. Seeing you grinning brightly, holding both ornaments made his cheeks warm. Did you not realize that the two characters were in love in the movie? Were you aware of what you were doing?
Based on the cheery gleam in your eye, you were completely oblivious to the fact and he didn't know if that made the situation better or worse.
"Seonghwa?" You called.
He blinked himself out of his daze, returning to reality.
"Sorry." He murmured, taking the ornament from you.
"Look at the bottom." You urged.
He turned it upside down. Written in tiny, white letters was, Our first Christmas 20XX
Seonghwa's face was on fire at that point. First the matching ornaments, now this? It was all becoming too much and it didn't help that he had a massive crush on you.
"It's..." He started to speak again, but the words were stuck.
"You're speechless." You chuckled. "I'm glad. Why don't you hang it on the tree?"
He slowly moved towards the fir, hanging the ornament on a branch. He momentarily debated about going back to the couch, but decided not to.
"I don't mind helping out." He told you, his voice coming out quieter than he intended.
Your face lit up at his offer.
"You mean it?"
He nodded.
You let out a small squeak of excitement. "Grab an ornament and put it wherever." You told him, gesturing to the box of festive tree decorations.
He then began pulling ornaments out of the box, strategically placing them onto the tree, making sure each one was spaced out just right and filled in any gaps.
Once the tree was finished, you stepped back and got a look at it. The lights you had strung around the fir were ready to be plugged in. You couldn't wait to see what the tree looked like all lit up. As you prepared to plug in the Christmas lights, you noticed Seonghwa was out of the room. Before you could call his name, he came rushing in with a handheld brush and dustpan, dropping to the floor to sweep up the needles littering the hardwood panels.
"Sorry." He chuckled softly. "I can't stand it."
Once he cleaned up the needles, you placed the tree skirt around the metal base that held the evergreen.
"Alright." You clasped your hands together, grabbing the plug once again. "Are you ready?"
"I suppose." Answered Seonghwa.
You shoved the plug into the outlet, the tree coming to life, giving off a warm glow and illuminating the room. A soft gasp left you as you marveled at the festive sight before you.
Despite the merry spectacle in front of him, Seonghwa's eyes were on you the whole time. The lights on the Christmas tree reflected off your large eyes, making them twinkle in wonder and doubling your cuteness. He could feel himself falling even harder for you, which wasn't totally a bad thing.
"You know what we should do next? Bake cookies."
Seonghwa was quick to regain his composure, acting indifferent and pretending like he wasn't just ogling at you.
"I've had enough Christmas for today, thanks." He responded.
"Baking cookies isn't a Christmas thing." You told him.
"Still. You can bake them yourself. I'm not interested."
Truth is, he was interested. He hated Christmas for so long and suddenly you come along and start changing his mind in just a few days. The idea was nearly impossible for him to comprehend.
"Are you sure? This is my last offer." You told him.
Seonghwa sucked in a deep breath, weighing his options. If he baked cookies with you, then he would be able to spend more time with you, which he really wanted. So, in the end, he agreed.
In all honesty, he enjoyed baking with you. Did you make a mess? Yes, a little, but the important thing is you both had fun and also made some delicious chocolate chip cookies.
You were right. Baking cookies isn't just a Christmas thing, but it did somehow feel festive, which Seonghwa, for once, didn't completely hate.
Christmas approached quicker than you had anticipated. You didn't have anywhere to go or anyone to hang out with, so you opted to stay home and have your own little Christmas party with Seonghwa. He wasn't too keen on the idea, but you knew that you would somehow win him over as you had with other festive things.
You managed to talk Seonghwa into letting you play Christmas music. To your surprise, he was more easily persuaded than you expected.
You were currently baking gingerbread cookies that Seonghwa helped you make. The two of you sat in the living room playing board games and card games while the cookies baked in the oven. Seonghwa had just beat you at an intense game of UNO when you heard the oven beep from the kitchen.
"Oh! The cookies are done." You pushed yourself up from the floor. "I'll be right back."
You exited the room, going to the kitchen to take the gingerbread cookies from the oven. They looked incredible. Each one was perfectly shaped like a little gingerbread man. The next step was to decorate them, then they would be ready to eat.
"Hey, Seonghwa. If you wanna come help decorate the cookies they're-" You came to a stop when you saw him standing by the tree near the window.
"Look." He pointed. "It's snowing."
You walked over, standing beside him and peering out the window. Sure enough, there were large, fluffy snowflakes falling from the sky in a flurry, coating the street below in white powder.
"Wow." You marveled. "This is perfect. A white Christmas."
"Y/n." Seonghwa called out softly.
"Yes?"
Seonghwa took your hands in his, taking a step closer just as a slow Christmas song begin to play, the music filling the room.
"Can we dance?" He asked.
You nodded, sliding your arms around his shoulders. Being in such close quarters made you feel a bit bashful, so you tried to distract yourself by focusing on the song.
Seonghwa held you close as the two of you stood by the window, swaying to the music and watching the snow fall outside.
"Look up." He told you.
You did as he said, lifting your gaze only to spot mistletoe hanging from the ceiling.
"I thought you didn't like Christmas." You remarked with a smirk.
"Not entirely."
You knew what was coming next and you were more than ready for it.
"What about decorating the cookies?" You asked, your eyes glued to his lips.
"The cookies can wait."
As soon as the words left his mouth, he closed the gap between you, placing his lips gently on yours.
Your hands that were previously resting on his shoulders moved to his hair, gently running your fingers through it. You could feel Seonghwa's body relax under your touch, meaning that he was enjoying it. You couldn't help but smile a little against his lips.
"I have a confession." Seonghwa uttered once he pulled away.
"That you like me?" You grinned.
"Besides that." He chuckled shyly, his cheeks tinted pink.
"What's the confession?"
"You made me appreciate Christmas. I've never really been a fan of Christmas. It's just too merry, too happy, and too bright—but seeing the way your face would light up whenever you would do anything Christmas related, made me see things differently."
You couldn't help but smile at his confession. Truthfully, you had noticed a change in him over the past month, and knowing that you played a part in that made you happy.
"So, that means you'll participate in Yuletide traditions?" You asked, hopefully.
"Perhaps."
"Then let's go decorate those cookies." You took his hand, attempting to lead him to the kitchen, only for him to swiftly pull you back towards him.
"First, one more kiss."

I think M could’ve got an invite in 2019 but her bad behavior was already starting to leak out and her inability to dress properly also made designers not want to dress her and that she was pregnant
I wonder if she was angry that Archie was due then (apparently she was really overdue, but some say she was saying she was near the end in Dec at Christmas… some say Archie was born Feb or Mar) and took attention away from her
I just don’t understand the whole fiasco about the birth and the announcement and then the birth certificate too… and then Waaah saying she was home asap after an epidural & traumatic birth?
Yeah, there are a lot of questions about Archie's birth.
I don't know if I buy the "really overdue" story. I think she was overdue, but it wouldn't have been that overdue because it would've been considered high risk since she was having a geriatric pregnancy - which is what they call any pregnancy for any woman over 35 - and going too overdue would've been even riskier, to the point where she would have been induced.
I'll give her being a few days overdue but if her due date was March, there's no way her doctors would have let her continue to carry for over a month longer.
A theory to consider: (it's easier if I write this out in bullet points so just bear with me)
Meghan and Harry insist that they didn't announce the pregnancy early, that she was already out of her first trimester when they began telling people at Eugenie's wedding. So if she's 12 weeks at Eugenie's wedding (October 12, 2018), that puts conception at the end of July and her due date around April 15.
After the pregnancy was officially announced, Meghan was papped carrying two purple binders. In the virtue-signalling and IVF worlds, two purple items means boy-girl twins. A twin pregnancy would have been due mid-March.
Then there was the too-big-too-soon belly, further contributing to the theory that it was twins.
In January, Meghan famously made her "not too long to go" comment, suggesting that the baby was due sooner, supporting the theory of a March due date for twins.
Also, I'm not sure that the palace ever followed up the "Meghan's pregnant, baby due in Spring" announcement with a second announcement stating which month the baby was expected (as they did for each of Kate's pregnancies). So Spring, in the UK, is March through May.
Around February 20th, the infamous baby shower at the Mark Hotel (i.e., where the celebs stay to get ready for the Met Gala) instead of Diana favorite The Carlyle. This is where it starts to unravel for Meghan: if she had a March due date, then there's no way any doctor would have allowed her to fly a long-haul flight that late in her pregnancy, even if it was a private charter, and most absolutely not if it was a twin pregnancy. So clearly the baby wasn't due in March and it was no longer twins. Then, all the decor at the baby shower was in light pink, suggesting Meghan was having a little girl.
May 6th, Baby Boy Archie is born. But if it's true conception was end of July with Meghan being exactly 12 weeks at Eugenie's wedding, this would put her at 3 weeks overdue and that seems really risky for a geriatric pregnancy, especially one that's being overseen by American-based healthcare at the Portland Hospital.
So here's the theory. Given the inconsistencies in Meghan's shape and the virtue-signalling with purple binders, I think she thought she was having twins and did all her homework on twins. But then they lost one of the embryos (which is normal, it happens all the time) and Meghan never adjusted her thinking or preparations and kept trying to hint at a twin pregnancy for the attention but no one realized it because of all the inconsistencies.
Anyway, all this to say, I think Archie's due date was two weeks before May 6th (given Harry's "babies change so much in two weeks" comment), which is April 22 and they just kept it quiet until Meghan felt 'presentable' enough to appear in public postpartum or the parental paperwork (because I think the UK the parents have to either adopt their baby from or get parental orders to take the baby from the surrogate, right?) was processed.
But long story short, yeah, there's so many issues with their stories of Archie's birth and so many inconsistencies from Meghan's pregnancy that it beggars belief the version presented in Spare is what really happened. (Especially because as many of the moms pointed out around here, no doctor is letting a woman with an epidural give birth in a pool. I always found that suspicous because then wouldn't the Netflix show have photos of Meghan holding newborn Archie in water? (I didn't watch the Netflix series so I don't know.))

All I Want For Christmas Is You
Levi Ackerman
6.8k words
Summary: The day before Christmas Eve, you happen upon your new roommate's living room calendar and discover that his birthday also happens to fall on Christmas and after a drunken night of meeting his friends and getting to know each other better, also discover he doesn't have a family to spend Christmas with, so you offer him your own.
A/N: The more I wrote this, the more I hated it lol, but please listen to my favorite Christmas song before or while you read as it gives me the floaty happy feeling I desire this fic to have. It's Cold December Night by Michael Buble. Levi may be a bit OOC, but I wanted this ready for Christmas, so I didn't have much time to skim it over and fix things. Thank you for reading and please let me know your thoughts! This isn't yet edited so please don't mind any mistakes! The AO3 curse got me the past couple of days, so this is much more delayed than I would have liked it to be.
-----
You pulled the last of your packed moving boxes through the front door of your new residence, nudging the door closed with your foot as to not let anymore of the heat inside escape. You had been moving things in slowly the past week, the first few days unpacking consisted of larger and more important items and as the days passed, the less important items made their way into your new home. You let the heavy box cradled in your arms plop to the floor with a thud and sighed heavily, folding over to catch your breath. You quite literally felt a huge weight drop from your shoulders as you realized you were done moving. And not only was it the last box, but the last of your Christmas shopping.
Speaking of Christmas, you noticed the lack of Christmas decor adorning your new apartment. While the shared quarters still held a sense of home and comfort, the decor, you felt, was not up to par for the season near enough for your liking. You would have to ask your new roommate about it and see if you could put more up. You shrugged your winter attire off and made your way to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. It would be a long night of wrapping presents and you could use all of the fuel your peppermint mocha had to offer.
As your Keurig sputtered your drink of choice out, you opted to change into comfortable clothes for the evening. When you reentered the kitchen, you grabbed the steaming mug off the machine and blew on the top of the drink, taking a small sip to test the temperature on your tongue.
As you did so, your eyes wandered the walls and found a relatively large calendar hung perfectly straight. You eyed the current date, December 23rd, and the following days, your eyes widening as you abandoned your warm mug on the countertop and made your way closer to the calendar.
Your fingers touched along the block that held 'Christmas Day' and your eyes roamed the calendar adorned in neat script and back to the unfamiliar scrawl that sat atop the block labeled 25.
'LEVI'S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!' It read, in messy capital letters with an astronomical amount of exclamation points following the words. A quite ugly and cartoonish drawing of glasses sat underneath the script, the manufactured 'Christmas Day' scribbled out, and you assumed one of his friends had written everything inside the box. A feeling of panic set in. You had to get him something. It was his birthday. Did that explain the lack of Christmas decor? Does he despise Christmas?
At that moment, you heard a set of keys jingle outside and the click of the door unlocking. You quickly stepped away from the calendar and your hands encased your mug once again. You took another sip of the drink as Levi walked in, brushing snow off of his shoulders. You looked away, scrunching your face at the still boiling hot temperature of the mocha, cursing your awkwardness around the new man. His face adorned the same look, but only because of the cold.
His eyes met yours with a curt nod in greeting as he removed his shoes and he began walking towards the counter. He set his keys across the countertop and hung his backpack across the back of one of the high top stools lining the island countertop you currently leaned on.
"Sorry it's so late. I'm glad I didn't wake you up." he said, unzipping the bag and pulling his laptop out. You shook your head.
"I just got back as well! I finally have all of my stuff here now, so no more ruckus!" you responded hastily, opting to sip your drink once more. You hadn't yet engaged in many conversations with the man, only those around your mutual friend who shared your own college major, Isabel, who had suggested you as Levi's new roommate. But she wasn't here anymore to guide your conversation and it felt quite awkward.
"That's good to hear." he responded, fingers working to plug in the laptop's charger into the countertop. Something you hadn't yet noticed about the home, but you were glad it existed and were sure it would prove handy for late nights studying. You wondered if he had also felt awkward around you. That would have to end quickly if so.
You continued sipping at the drink in silence and watched as he worked, typing into the laptop. Maybe it would be a good time to retreat to your bedroom and give him his space to mitigate from work. Or make him a warm drink as well? Maybe try to strike up a conversation and get to know more about him? Or-
"Got any plans for the evening?" he asked, cutting your internal rapid firing line of questioning off. Your eyes met his own when he stopped typing. Your cheeks warmed at the steely grey's examining your expression. You quickly looked into the swirl of your drink.
"You're looking at them. Why? Got something in mind?" you asked, jumping at the opportunity to know more about him, or more specifically, what would be his fancy in terms of a gift or two.
"Hmm. I'm surprised Isabel didn't mention it. We're all going out in town tonight for a few hours." he responded, fingers reaching for his phone, also plugged in, and swiping it open. You were also surprised she hadn't mentioned so, but forgetful was one of her more endearing qualities so you were quite sure it wasn't on purpose.
"She's forgetful. I'm sure she meant to ask you about it though." he responded to himself. "So? Would you like to come?" he asked. His voice monotonous. He continued his work as you pondered the question and the task you would be abandoning for the evening.
You nodded, agreeing to go along, but now you would have to get ready. You'd have to give Isabel a call and see what the unspoken dress code of the evening was. You imagined if it went her way, you'd be quite dressed up for the night, which also meant freezing your ass off.
"I'll go get ready!" you responded. He nodded and turned his full attention back to his computer, finishing what you could assume was work for his graduate program he'd be starting the preceding semester at the university you would now also be a part of. You had met Isabel at a club meeting in your old college. An event all the universities had gone to. You had struck up a conversation with her, and were pleased to find she went to the same school you would soon be transferring to and it was history from there.
You pulled your phone from under your waistband, finding Isabel's contact as you closed the door to your bedroom. You set a coaster out onto your desk and set your drink down. You'd definitely need the fuel now. Or maybe the better idea would be to abandon it for water.
"Heeellllloooo?" a perky voice drew out the greeting. You smiled, shaking your head.
"Did you forget to tell me something?" you asked. A loud gasp rang over the other line and you took the phone off your ear in preparation for the yelling that was about to ensue across the other line.
"I'm so so sorry! I totally meant to tell you when Hange planned it! Shit! Did Levi tell you?" she asked. You nodded, laughing.
"Yes he did. Now onto more important details. What are you wearing? Is this more of a dressy going out or just comfy?" you asked, fingers sliding hangers over as you mulled over what you could wear for the evening in either option. You hated to not fit in with the theme.
"Hange wants us to dress up because it's Levi's birthday on the 25th! SHIT! That's another thing I forgot to mention!" she responded. This was a celebration. You felt guilty at not knowing the new man's birthday sooner. You chuckled despite the nervous thoughts that began to rapid fire your brain again.
"It's alright! FaceTime me so you can help me pick an outfit out!" you told her. You removed the phone from your ear, awaiting the video call and answering as soon as she called.
----
Your outfit of choice ended up being much more short and showy than usual; an extremely short velvet cocktail dress and heels that matched the color, much to Isabel's pleasure. You wore your trusty black 'going out' trench coat as it went with everything and kept you as warm as you could be in a short dress.
You finished the minute details of your outfit, leaving your bedroom. You walked into the living room, eyes in search of your new roommate to see if he was ready to go.
He had also changed into something a bit more dressed up; a pair of slacks, dress shoes, a button up shirt, and a blazer. His steely grey's met your own, looking down and up before meeting your own again. You swore your caught the faintest tint of blushing to his cheeks.
"Won't you be cold?" he asked, turning towards the counter, taking ahold of his keys. You shook your head.
"This is my trusty trench coat, either it's never let me down or alcohol warms me up enough." you responded.
"Want me to drive? Or we could walk if you won't be too cold or uncomfortable." he responded. You could only nod before realizing you were given two options in the question.
"Walking is fine." you answered curtly. You made your way to the front door, opening it and stepping into the cold. He followed behind you, his hand meeting your own as he propped the door open. You quickly retracted your hand. Now it was your turn to blush, but at least you could blame it on the cold weather.
You heard the telltale click of the lock on the door and he stepped down the stairs in front of you, turning and offering a hand. You stood still, putting your hand up to take his own in hesitation.
"It would really suck if you fell down the stairs before we got there." he said. You laughed loudly, slapping your hand down into his own and beginning your descent down the stairs. You small talked about your days, his at work and university, despite the off season from the semester, and you about your moving and Christmas plans.
You made it to the first place of the evening, a fine dining restaurant. If this friend group was anything like the one in your hometown, then you'd get dinner first and then get wild at bars and hangout spots the rest of the evening and into early morning.
You weren't quite sure of what anyone looked like outside of Isabel, your eyes scanning the tables for a mop of pink hair, but you couldn't see above anyone even with your heels on, and the restaurant was what you would call 'packed', everyone eager to finish their drinking bouts with heir university friends before returning home to their families.
You looked to Levi, who also struggled to see over the top of patron's heads. His eyes widened lightly and then met your own. He nodded his head a certain direction and you began following him through the throng of people towards your destination, taking ahold of the sleeve of his jacket.
Once making it to the table, Isabel stood, beaming.
"This is the infamous new roommate I've been telling you guys about!" she shouted. You laughed, Levi taking a seat next to Isabel. You opted to take the empty spot next to him at the end of the table.
Isabel sputtered more facts about you to the group before someone cut her speech off, a lean blonde man with bright blue eyes.
"Please, introduce yourself. We at least need a name with the face." he said more politely so than Isabel, who now pouted. You laughed too, proffering your name and a few small details about yourself. Where you came from, what your college major was, although you were sure Isabel had already shared those facts for you in her eagerness to adopt you into the friend group, and more typical introductory details.
The server came around and asked drink orders. You went with your regular drink of choice, something that wouldn't get you drunk after one, but definitely not something to drink on all evening. Everyone else made their orders and you were surprised to find Levi had actually ordered something containing alcohol. Albeit, not much, but it was a start. Isabel had told you he wasn't much of the drinker with he exception of tea and the occasional coffee whilst studying together. Your elbow met his arm and his gaze quickly made its way over to you.
"I thought I heard you weren't much of a drinker?" you chided. He looked down to his hands, which sat clasped together atop the table, then leaned back in his chair, a hand brushing through his hair with a long sigh.
"Hange said if I didn't have some drinks tonight they would cancel the whole thing." he responded, irritation laced in his tone, a stone cold gaze now looking to the perpetrator. You laughed loudly.
"I'm sure that's not true." you responded as your drink was placed into your field of vision. You took a sip right away, savoring the way this restaurant made it. This may be the best variation of the drink you had drank before. You'd have to ask for the recipe they used if they'd give it to you.
As you sipped at your drink, you side eyed Levi, who hesitantly took a sip of his own. His nose scrunched and he stirred into the drink more with the cocktail straws, taking another sip, seemingly satisfied with how it tasted now. You engaged in idle chatter with the group, only ordering appetizers and splitting them all amongst yourselves evenly. You insisted you boot Levi's portion of the bill, but Erwin met that proposition with a strong and resounding 'No'.
After two drinks you began feeling warm for the evening, ready to shed your coat at the next location the night took you too. You only followed his friends, not sure what they had in mind. You were sure they had regular locations they frequented and such.
You walked behind the group next to Levi, noticing the silence between the two of you was much more comfortable than earlier in the evening at your shared home. You found yourself enjoying his company more and more so.
Isabel suddenly came up behind you, tossing an arm over your shoulders and the other over Levi's. You stumbled, laughing. As you regained your footing, you caught the heavy glare Levi pointed her direction.
"Can't yell at me tonight bro!" she shouted, laughing loudly. You laughed along, wondering how their dynamic would usually be in your absence. It seemed her lifelong dream may have been to get on every last nerve roaming through his body you thought, maybe even Hange too. You were almost certain they planned antics to annoy him together.
The group made their way inside the next location and the first thing you did was shed the stuffy coat, draping it across your arm. Christmas music boomed loudly across the speakers as it intertwined with the bar's usual playlist.
You followed the group as they made their way through groups of dancing people to a table tucked in the back corner of the bar. You sat your coat atop a chair, scheming how you would pay for all of Levi's drinks for the remainder of the evening.
"What would everyone like? I'll go grab it!" you asked the group as they attempted to make themselves comfortable atop the booth behind the table. You opened a note in your phone and began writing them down.
"I'll come with you. You can't carry it all." Levi announced, standing. You noticed his blazer now shed off as well, another button undone on his dress shirt. It was now your turn to eye him, down and up. When your eyes returned to his face, his eyes met your own with what you could swear was the faintest hint of a knowing smile.
You walked to the bar, grabbing ahold of his shirt sleeve once more as you followed. You squeezed between two people's shoulders and leaned against the bar to wait your turn for a server. You turned your head over both shoulders to find Levi, his hand perched to your left side on the bar and right on his hip. You felt safely encaged, like no one could hurt you. While he didn't stand much taller than yourself, he definitely held an intimidating aura, something you couldn't say was a quality of your own.
You quickly looked back to the bartender as they were ready for your order and leaned further, allowing them to see your phone's notepad as you explained your new friend's drink orders. She nodded, stalking off to quickly make the requested list and move to the next.
Once she returned, you began handing Levi drinks and carried four on your own, which you were quite impressed with. Maybe your old serving job was useful in some aspects. You carefully walked back to the table as to not cause a mess or drop anything.
"Alright. Here's Furlan's, Isabel's, Hange's, and Levi's." you recited, handing the drinks to each respective person and setting Levi's in front of the seat that held his jacket. You turned to grab the remaining drinks out of his hands, smiling as your eyes met his own. He wasn't one to smile nor show emotion much, always stoic, you noticed. You turned back and set your own drink next to the seat you had discarded your jacket in and also next to Levi's.
"And finally mine, Erwin's, Moblit's, and Miche's." you finished. You clapped your hands together and made your way to your seat after Levi made his way in.
After loud idle chatter about anything and everything, Isabel and Hange insisted that you come to the dance floor with them, and despite your considerable amount of protesting, you ended up in major defeat as both of them grabbed ahold of each of your arms, dragging you out of your chair.
You laughed as you danced with them in a circle, each of you holding one of the other two's hands, skipping around. Some of the classic club songs blared through the speakers and your last drink began creeping into your bloodstream. You laughed harder at the heinous dancing Hange managed to pull off, curled over with your eyes closed, laughing the hardest you think you ever had.
You felt a finger tap your shoulder and you straightened your posture, eyes meeting the perpetrator. Isabel leaned close to your ear, telling you the group wanted to take shots and you should head to the table. You nodded and followed behind her and Hange, all holding hands so you wouldn't lose each other in the now packed and large crowd.
You placed your hands atop the edge of the table as you reached it to steady your balance, laughing as you thought of a silly dance Hange had done on the dance floor, your gaze meeting Levi's. Despite his lack of emotion, he didn't seem to be having a bad time. He seemed the type to enjoy the company of his friends and be hellbent on not showing it.
Shot glasses full of bright red liquid were dispersed and you attempted to ask what it was. The overall consensus was that it was a Christmas themed drink. You shrugged and downed the shot after Hange's loud and enthusiastic countdown.
You returned to the dance floor, more of the group joining along, with the exception of Erwin and Levi, who remained chatting away at the table. You couldn't help it, but you found yourself gazing his way the entire evening. You wished he was the dancing type.
After another shot later in the evening, you all had decided to filter outside in search of your next location. You had also succeeded in paying for all of Levi's drinks, much to Erwin's dismay, who insisted paying the entire bill every place you went to.
You opted to not put your coat back on, allowing the cold weather to sober you. You couldn't help but smile as you watched the group. You hoped to become a permanent part of it.
You felt a nudge to your shoulder and looked towards Levi, his hands in his pockets as he walked. Your cheeks were warm and your smile grew wider as he encased his hands over your shoulders, rubbing lightly. You were a bit cold. Maybe he could tell? You had surrendered your coat to Isabel, who had forgotten her own at home.
"Enjoying yourself?" he asked. You nodded eagerly.
"I should be asking you that question." you responded, nudging him back. He shook his head and you all opted for the last location of the evening to be a small coffee shop cafe, something they apparently did routinely after going out for the night. You never did get to finish your peppermint mocha earlier in the evening.
You walked up to the shop, ordering another of the aforementioned drink. Levi had opted for tea, and everyone else some variation of a hot chocolate or coffee. You filtered out of the door, allowing more patrons to filter in before hearing a screech and howling laughter that could only belong to one person behind you.
Your eyes turned to Hange, who pointed a finger curtly above your head, still laughing. Your eyes widened as they met the bundle of leaves and small white fruit hanging above you. Your eyes met the pair of also widened steely greys in front of you.
"You have to! It's bad luck if you don't!" Isabel shouted. Erwin and Moblit could only shake their heads at the antics of the two troublemakers, who doubled over howling with laughter.
What do you do? You don't want to reject Levi. Nor do you want bad luck during the incoming year. If anything, you currently wanted him to kiss you. You shrugged your shoulders and his eyes scanned your features, down to your lips and back to your own gaze. You wet your lips with your tongue unconsciously, stepping closer to your roommate.
And as if by chance, the cheesy Christmas music playing the entire evening filtered through the cafe doors as they opened. The line in the music gave you a sense of (false?) confidence, a sense of this being fated to happen in your tipsy state.
'So kiss me on this cold December night.'
You lightly placed your hands over his arms and his own met your shoulders hesitantly, circling his thumbs over them once more. His eyes scanned over your face once again, as if asking permission. You nodded, closing your eyes, and soon after felt a pair of warm plush lips capture your own. And like a ghost, they were there one second and gone the next.
You forgot about the group behind you, your eyes opening and meeting the pair in front of you. Your smile beamed once more, the group behind you hooping and hollering at the two of you. He really smiled for the first time that evening.
As you made your way home, the hands that were once shoved into his pockets now held a warm drink and your own warm hand in comfortable silence.
----
You awoke to the smell of coffee wafting through the apartment. Christmas Eve, the day to wrap all of the presents you had meant to wrap the evening prior, a task that needed to be done before you left for your family's home.
You stretched yourself awake, abandoning your bed to make yourself not look such a mess before making your way into your shared living quarters. You eyed your phone, the time still quite early.
"Good morning Levi." you said, pouring yourself a cup of the still hot coffee. He muttered a good morning back to you, typing across the keyboard on his laptop once more.
"Got any plans for the day?" you asked him, elbows leaning atop the counter he currently sat on the other side of. His eyes met yours as he shook his head.
"You're looking at them." he responded, and you remembered your similar conversation the evening prior. Did he have no family to go home to? On his birthday? Maybe they lived close and he'd go the next day.
"How about you?" he asked, eyes still scanning the laptop screen. You shrugged.
"Wrapping presents and driving to my family's house. I haven't seen them in a while. I'm pretty excited." you spouted, rambling on about your family to him. You noticed halfway through he had stopped typing and removed his glasses, fully intent to listen to your words.
"What's your family like Levi?" you asked. Any more hints to get an idea as to what you could get him for his birthday tomorrow may come from information on his family.
"I don't have one." he responded. Your eyes widened, taken aback.
"What do you mean?" you asked in thought. Before he could respond you realized the insensitivity of the question. "Never mind you don't have to answer. I'm prying." you answered yourself.
"It's alright. I don't mind telling you. My mom died when I was young and I don't really know my dad." he said quietly with a small shrug of his shoulders. You nodded, your eyes widening as an idea sprung to mind. His face contorted to one of confusion at your sudden beaming smile.
"Come with me to my family's! We'll be back the day after Christmas!" you shouted, your hands slapping over the top of his across the countertop after abandoning your coffee for the second time in as many days.
"It'll be so much fun I promise. they're a little crazy at times, but I don't think it's fair to spend your birthday alone Levi." you continued, almost pleading. His gaze looked to the ceiling in thought before meeting your own once more.
"Okay. Yeah. I'll do it." he responded. You squealed in happiness, quickly sputtering that you had to call your mom before grabbing your coffee and prancing off to your room, closing the door shut.
You found your mom's contact, calling her to let her know the situation. You knew how your parents were, there with open arms to anyone who needed it. And they'd be damned if they also didn't have something there for Levi as well. You had a small pull out couch in your childhood room you could sleep on, opting to let him take the bed as it was larger.
You eagerly spouted a plan to your mother, different gifts for him you thought he would like so she could purchase them. She was just as excited as you it seemed. She always loved when you brought friends home. She loved your big heart even more, which was the main reason she indulged in the company of your friends.
You wrapped your family's presents quickly afterwards, eager to drive to your parent's house in Levi's company. Once you finished wrapping everything or stuffing it into respective gift bags, you stuffed changes of clothes into your suitcase along with your laptop and other items you may need during your visit.
You re-entered the living room at eleven, Levi also packing up his needed items, a suitcase sat next to the door and you set your own next to his. You filtered in and out of your room, stacking the presents next to your cargo. Once you were certain you had everything, you quickly made a to go coffee in a thermos before grabbing your keys, warming your car up as you packed everything into it.
You talked back and forth on the way about school and the friend group you had been assured you were now a part of. You had received more than enough details about Levi to get him gifts of your own after the drive, allowing your mother to steal the ideas you had learned of him the night prior.
You and your mother decided together she could buy the Christmas gifts, and you the birthday gifts.
----
You made a quick pitstop at the strip mall down the street from your parents that you frequented as a teen. Levi walked into the store behind you, and you made the excuse that you needed to pick up one more present for your mother, Levi didn't fail to mention the large load of presents you had already packed into your car.
He scanned over a rack of clothing and you used that as your chance to hastily escape, picking up a few gifts your mother had told you she hadn't gotten yet over text.
When you were satisfied with your selection, you made your way to the front to pay and found Levi quite easily in the shop, letting him know you were finished.
You ran back to the heat of your car, the remaining five minutes of your drive felt so long.
----
As you pulled into the driveway, you beeped the horn of your car lightly to let your family know you had arrived. You parked and exited the car as your parents and four year old younger brother stepped onto your porch. You little brother beelined it for you and you laughed, kneeling down to his level. He jumped into your arms and shouted your name. You spun him around and hugged him tightly, balancing him atop your hip bone with one arm, leaning in to hug your father.
Your mother made her way to Levi, letting him know how happy she was he could join you to see your family and that he was always welcome. Typical motherly things you always appreciated about her. You watch as she gave him a hug and smiled, a soft smile making it's way across his lips as he conversed with her.
Your father helped you unpack your car, grabbing your suitcases and setting them down. He handed a present to your brother, ensuring him the sole responsibility to make sure it got under the tree safely, allowing him to help in bringing yours and Levi's belongings inside. Your brother nodded eagerly, excited to help. Your mother and father grabbed the rest of what you had in the car and you wheeled your suitcase inside.
It smelled of cookies and coffee inside. Your eyes met the Christmas decor littered across the house. A kids Christmas movie played at low volume on the TV for your younger brother and you grabbed Levi's arm, who had also been admiring the decor, and dragged him to the room you'd both be staying in, your childhood room.
Your mother had already prepared your room to accommodate the both of you and you emptied a few of the drawers in your dresser for Levi. You both unpacked your things and you abandoned the suitcases in your closet.
He sat atop the bed once he was finished and eyed the boyband and more embarrassing aspects of decor littered across your room. You plopped down next to him.
"Seems you were quite the fangirl." he observed. Your cheeks heated and you nudged his arm, muttering something about all kids having a fixation when they were young.
Once done in your room, he followed you to your living room down the stairs and you made your way to the tree, helping your mother sort the rest of the gifts. She went all out every year without fail, and your eyes scanned the group of gifts that listed Levi's name.
You turned to your mother and threw your arms over her shoulders, whispering a thank you to her. She nodded, spouting he was happy to do it all.
Levi made himself comfortable on the couch next to your father, who asked if he would like a beer, the TV channel changed to some sports game that was happening. He nodded, not wanting to turn your father down. You made your way to your younger brother, who busied himself with a halfway built puzzle.
You sat next to him, pulling a cushion off the lounge chair behind you to sit on. Levi eyed you as he sipped his beer, your mother bringing you a drink as well. Homemade spiked cider had become your favorite to drink on when you came home and she made it perfectly every year without fail.
You had talked to your mother about hiding a couple of your share of Levi's gifts for the next day, opting to actually open gifts for Christmas that evening so you could celebrate Levi's birthday to the fullest the next day.
After helping with the puzzle, you stood, plopping onto the couch next to Levi, watching the game with him. His knee shook up and down as he sipped the beer idly, and you set a hand atop his own, wrapping your fingers over it. His knee stopped bouncing and his gaze met yours.
"Don't be nervous. Trust me. There's nothing you could do wrong around my family. They already love you." you assured him in a whisper. He nodded, letting out a sigh.
"Sorry. Fathers make me nervous." he said. You shook his knee side to side, and his hand wrapped tighter around your own, both of your gazes turning back to the game on the TV.
After dinner that evening, gift opening commenced. You found your seat next to Levi once more, your cup of cider hot and full once more, Levi now drinking on the same thing, and watched your brother carefully open his gifts. He was calm for a four year old, not too energetic, something you appreciated about him. Your parents instilled his manners at an early age as they had done with you.
Then it was your turn. You set your cup down, carefully opening the assortment of gifts your family had gotten for you. Some new jewelry you had eyes for right after Christmas the prior year, some little plushes you adored that your brother insisted you had to have when he saw them in the store, nice stationary for school, some in trend clothing, and a skincare brand you always used.
Your mother and father opened their gifts from you, your father's a nice watch, and your mother's a necklace that had your brother's and your birthstone's embedded into it. She instantly had your father put it around her neck and she insisted she would wear the necklace to her grave.
Then it came to Levi's, whose eyes widened at the fact you had gotten him anything at all. You leaned your shoulder to his own and his gaze met yours, hands hesitantly reaching for the wrapped boxes your father handed to him.
He opened them with surprise. You had dug through the kitchen cabinets in his absence to find his favorite teas and maybe those that were of a higher price point to get him more, a nice watch as well, and nice stationary for him too as you mentioned to your parents he attended the same university.
His eyes met your own, still wide, then your parents, smiles across their faces.
"You didn't have to do all this for me." was all he could mutter out. You shook your head.
"Of course we did! Quit being humble honey! Besides, there's more where that came from for tomorrow." your mom said, walking over to embrace him once more, then your father, and finally you. Your little brother wanted in on the action, jumping over the two of you, wrapping an arm around your neck and the other around Levi's, a group hug commencing. He had already become part of the family, much like he had adopted you into his friend group.
----
The next morning, Levi's birthday, you awoke especially early, trying not to stir him from sleep as you exited your room to help your mother decorate the house for Levi's birthday. Before exiting the door, with a soft smile, you whispered a quiet happy birthday, leaving and closing the door quietly.
You had a lot of work to do, your mother already started a pot of coffee, a cup sitting on the counter for you already. You worked quietly to adorn the house in birthday decor, your mother had made a cake already and it cooled outside so you could decorate it.
You blew up balloons, careful to not let them pop. Your brother eventually awoke, helping you blow up the balloons as your mother taped the tops to the ceiling and you worked to wrap and curl ribbon around the bottoms.
Your father then awoke, grabbing the hidden gifts and placing them on your living room table. You made a cup of the tea you had gotten Levi as you were sure he would wake up soon. You changed into your chosen outfit of the day and got ready in your mother and father's room.
Levi appeared five minutes after, and you handed him the tea you had made.
"Surprise!" you shouted. He was taken aback once more, eyeing the littering of birthday decor that now sat covering the Christmas decor.
"You're insane. You really didn't have to do all of this." he said, eyes following along the decor you meticulously placed around for the better part of the morning. You received a side hug from him and something about the whole situation just felt homey and domestic. You wanted to lock it up and keep it forever.
You all worked together to prepare breakfast, your father playing a Christmas parade on the TV that your brother watched intently, already slowly eating on the first pancake that left the pan, his eyes glued to the television.
You all sat around the living room as you ate breakfast, your mother and father drilling Levi with questions about university and his graduate program. Oh no. It sounded like the boyfriend talk was upon you.
You eyed your mother mouthing a heavy 'NO' to her, smiling as your father continued rambling on. She nodded, nudging your father, who seemed to understand. You smiled, shaking your head, as they changed the subject from the impending talk.
You comfortably leaned against Levi, your father bringing the last gift to Levi out. You were most excited for this one. You had drilled Erwin fro information the night you went out together when Levi was away from your table. You sent quite a nice amount of money to your mother to have the jewelry shop expedite your order the previous morning, the main reason you had stopped by the strip mall.
"I hadn't planned on giving this to you till after Christmas, because I didn't know your plans, but here it is." you said, watching as he opened it. It was a ring, gold to match the watch your father had gotten him, with his birthstone set in the center, a script across the band you had gotten out of Erwin, a quote Levi had found in a book that he very much so enjoyed.
'Dedicate your heart." it read across the band
"How do you know about this?" Levi asked, sliding the ring onto his finger.
"Let's just say that I'm pretty amazing at grilling your friends for all of your information without you hearing about it." you responded. His eyes met yours and you smiled, your cheeks warming. You could blame it on the cider your mother made again, but you didn't think you would this time.
The look in his eyes matched that of the evening before Christmas Eve when you had gone out together, and you readied yourself to kiss him. You pulled him by the front of his sweater and captured his lips with your own.
Maybe the boyfriend talk wouldn’t be so bad if it was Levi you were with.
——
A/N: I definitely had a different vision for how this would go but I wrote it in two days in my free time and kind of hate it lol. Just straight cute fluff!! Please let me know what you think!

Yuu and the Magical Power of Songs
Yuu Singer, 🎶💎Ramshackle💎🎶 (We wish you a Merry Christmas - Phineas and Ferb Version)
I couldn't think of a better idea for this Christmas than to use "We wish you a Merry Christmas" that they used in Phineas and Ferb… Well. I will do the same for this New Year... This story takes place after the OverBlots; After the near destruction of NRC, Malleus and Yuu combined their magic into a time spell that returned them all to the entrance ceremony to start things off without disaster.
The holidays are the funniest and happiest time of the year for many.
When Yuu first arrived at Twisted Wonderland he didn't imagine the seriousness with which they prepared for each celebration… what he discovered in spring and fall.
And that's not to mention the events that occurred randomly.
Anyway, at this moment the 8 dorm leaders were in a meeting.
"So we agree to decorate everything?" Yuu asked those present, who nodded at his words.
Since for some reason the entire student population wanted to celebrate the holidays at NRC, they needed to vote on whether they would decorate just their dormitories or the entire school.
Azul already had many ideas for the most fruitful season for Mostro Lounge.
"I have many selected items to order." Kalim said excitedly as he showed his cell phone to Riddle.
"Send me the links, I have my contacts so shipping will be cheaper hehehe~". Idia said with a giggle, who was present forced by Ortho.
Leona looked at the largest of the Shroud inquisitively, but he did not want to know.
"And who will pay for everything?" Vil asked, adjusting his Santa hat.
Yuu smiled and the others could swear that demon horns appeared on his head. "The director of course."
The others looked at Yuu strangely; Crowley was a cheapskate no matter how much he said otherwise, they highly doubted that he would pay for Christmas decorations.
"The director is so kind that he gave me his credit card." Yuu said taking said card out of his pocket. "Besides, when he realizes it, it will be too late."
Everything was silent for a moment before everyone laughed like "villains."
These holidays would be expensive for Dire Crowley…
Tumblr media
The light music club was preparing to practice; they would have a lot of work performing at Mostro Lounge and the Christmas and New Year party.
"So what should we play today?" Cater asked looking at her cell phone for ideas.
"How about it, all I want for Christmas is you~." Lilia suggested doing a riff.
"It's already widely seen." Kalim commented, much to Carter's surprise.
Kalim had been using a lot of internet tutorials to be more independent, so he also updated himself on trends on the web… Jamil still couldn't decide if Kalim being addicted to MagiCam was good or bad.
"And a classic?" Ortho suggested with a smile. The young man with the shrouds had become a member of the club shortly before the Malleus OverBlot.
At that moment, Yuu entered. "Sorry guys, the decorations arrived and I wasn't going to risk leaving Grim alone with the glass things." He explained, leaving his coat on the coat rack.
"Don't worry Yuu-kun, we're still thinking about what to play." Cater said to the white haired one.
Yuu thought for a moment; He had managed to listen to Ortho's suggestion and thought it was a very good idea.
"And if we sing, we wish you a Merry Christmas?" The others looked at Yuu, it wasn't a bad idea.
"We can use a classic, with a little tweak." Yuu explained to them grabbing a microphone.
"Alright, you're in charge Yuu." Carter said to the aforementioned before turning on a LIVE for everyone to see. Yuu smiled mischievously as Kalim started playing the drums...
We wish you a Merry Christmas ~
We wish you a Merry Christmas ~
The "voice of the gods" was instantly present. Everyone's clothes changed to a unique Santa Claus outfit for each one. For Kalim it was with two shades of red and round gold glasses, for Ortho it was blue with white and a tulle cape with snowflake embroidery, for Carter it was bright green with black and pearls in her hair, for Yuu it was the typical red and white and cool ski goggles.
We wish you a Merry Christmas ~
And a Happy New Year ~
The song was heard throughout the campus; filled everyone with joy. They organized themselves in the patio to decorate. Many were singing or humming with their hands full of golden tinsel.
We wish you the best day ever ~
And hope all your Christmas endeavors ~
At Heartslabyul, Trey watched in barely concealed horror as Riddle pulled out the fruitcake the aforementioned had made. Riddle cut a piece of the cake from him and then looked nervously at the green-haired man. The one with glasses forced a smile before trying the cake… It was because of the magic of friendship and the miracle of Christmas that Trey didn't have stomach pains.
Are super-fun, amazing and clever ~
And that your New Year's rocks too! ~
Many were using their brooms to fly around NRC and decorate it. The white already contrasted the black and gray of the building beautifully, but with the gold and green tinsel it looked much more impressive. Inside the building there were white LED lights as far as the eye could see and pine trees were added in the largest rooms. Meanwhile, in the teachers' lounge, they were enjoying a good eggnog… The principal was just crying in a corner because of the receipt of everything.
Oh, come, tell me what'cha doin' ~
All my relatives just flew in ~
In Pomefiore, Vil was reflecting on his life choices. The salon was in chaos with many enjoying to "let their hair down" and enjoy themselves. Epel led the party wearing an ugly sweater with lights while he sang about his family's traditions.
From Harveston and Shaftlands ~
For the holidays! ~
Neige had been included in the party. It had been a shock to have discovered that he was distantly related to Epel and now the two got along very well. Vil had no problems with this, after meditating and having Yuu with a therapist, he was able to come to terms with himself and accept that he and Neige were unique.
Both Christmas trees and menorahs ~
It can be confusing for us ~
Strangely enough, Epel managed to bring out the most sarcastic and stubborn side of Neige. The two always ended up arguing whether it was about musical tastes, food or clothes. And now they were fighting over which decorations were better. Luckily for Vil, Rook managed to calm things down by saying that both decorations were beautiful together; and he also brought cocoa, which Vil was happy about.
When we break into a chorus ~
Of olé, Olé ~
And oy vey, Oy vey ~
In the NRC cafeteria, many were preparing a magnificent Christmas dinner; Many were grateful that Lilia was busy and not in the kitchen.
Delicious meals I will try~
Groceries A through Z ~
Leona sang before taking a big bite out of a turkey leg. The lion was in a dream when the taster of the dinner was selected, to the jealousy of many. And Leona enjoyed teasing the others with moans of satisfaction at how delicious the food they brought him to try was.
Ruggie, get away from that punch bowl ~
Ruggie pouted as he was caught drinking the fruit punch while pocketing a couple of cookies.
I'm saving that for me ~
Hyena Boy, offended that his lazy friend wouldn't share punch, threw some figgy pudding into the punch bowl.
Sorry, sir ~
Ruggie sang mockingly because he knew that of all the fruits, Leona hated the fig the most. In the yard, Silver was sleeping peacefully among a small mound of snow. No one wanted to bother the boy during his nap, but they couldn't help but decorate him; They put a headband on him with reindeer antlers and shiny spheres in his ears.
We wish you a Silver Christmas ~
We wish you a Silver Christmas ~
Yuu had changed it from "Perry" to Silver as a joke, but when he sang it he realized that the phrase was not so bad, a silver Christmas.
We wish you a Silver Christmas ~
And a (ZZZ~ Silver´s snoring ZZZ~) New year ~
Azul seriously needed a calculator; His had broken strangely shortly after Jade told him she needed to rest. Now, the lens guy was in her office doing the math by hand and with an abacus.
I want a calculator ~
Slash-Earnings-English Translator ~
"At this rate I finish in the new year." Blue thought tiredly as the music from the music club's LIVE was what kept him sane. The boy was also grateful that Yuu's magic decorated his office; he hadn't had much time to do it.
To find a common denominator ~
In all my tongues! ~
Mostro Lounge was enjoying free time with good music. Some were dancing dressed as elves and others were enjoying a good coffee or hot chocolate.
I will give you good hugs ~
To all you shrimps ~
Floyd with a big smile was trying to hug whoever he could, but everyone was avoiding him because of the mistletoe that the boy had hung on his head. Everyone knew how strong the hug and joking kiss they would receive from Floyd would be.
That's how I say "Merry Christmas" ~
I ain't good with words! ~
Floyd was finally able to grab someone to hug him and kiss him on the cheek, poor thing was Jamil. The one from Scarabia walked out calmly, still in shock, to go to the bathroom and wash his face with bleach.
I wish you would let me rule you ~
I'm going to teach you about anime ~
In Idia and Ortho's room, the oldest was dancing around the room while programming the lights, preparing the gifts he had for his brother, and turning on all of his monitors for the special Christmas events in all of his RPG games.
I won't sugarcoat or fool you ~
Your New Year's looks grim! ~
The oldest of the Shroud danced in the comfort of his chair, for him it was very noob to start singing at Christmas. Although he will deny to death that he sang Christmas songs from his favorite anime in the shower.
We wish your every endeavor ~
Makes this the best Christmas ever ~
The music club put the best of their voices into the final part of the song. Carter, Kalim and Ortho could tell that this was the best version of "we wish you a merry Christmas" they had ever heard. LIVE had ranked #1 in trends and throughout Twisted Wonderland they were dancing no matter what.
And we're all so glad that we will never ~
Mention figgy pudding ~
"Pudding?". Many people asked themselves when they heard the lyrics. Although they didn't give it importance; It was the best one of the best Christmas songs. And needless to say, they enjoyed the chorus at the end.
Tumblr media
"Merry Xmas!". Yuu, Carter, Kalim and Ortho exclaimed into the cell phone before the LIVE ended...
Night Raven College had a good day that day and the decorations could be seen from the town on the island. And they were better than the other academy, to the envy of some in the RSA.
...
...
... As for Crowley, he stayed in his nest for the rest of the holidays…

Welcome to the Freak Show (Christmas Edition)
DESCRIPTION: After you and Eddie make a small new home for yourself you find the Christmas season upon you both.
A/N - Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you are having a good festive season! Enjoy some Eddie Munson love for this day (that is semi festive) :)
WORD COUNT: 1045
One Shots / 'Welcome to the Freak Show'
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: established relationship, honestly this is just pure fluff
DISCLAIMERS
This is fiction. Please always talk to your partner before doing anything and make sure they are ok with what you are doing beforehand
This story is based after the events of my series 'Welcome to the Freak Show' (a Stranger Things fan fiction) which I'd recommend reading before or after reading this
You furrow your brow and bite at your bottom lip as you read your book. You had been so caught up in the story that you didn't realise how much time had gone by. So when the front door opened you were shocked to say the least. Bolting up right and shoving the book down onto the soft bed. Eddie sticking his head through as he grins at you.
"You made me jump" you say, a smile forming on your lips as you see the pure joy on his face.
"I have a surprise for you"
"That doesn't sound ominous" his grin growing as he looks outside the door momentarily before looking back at you.
"Shut your eyes" you let out a sigh. Sorting the book so it sits nicely on the bed before shutting your eyes. Placing your hands over them for dramatic effect so he knows you aren't peaking. The noises fill you with both a dread yet excitement as you hear him let out small grunts of... frustration? Struggle? Oh god what has he got you?
"Ok" a small pause "you can open your eyes". You move your fingers from your eyes. Parting them so you can peak out. The worry you had leaving your body as you see a small yet beautiful tree on the kitchen counter. "I know its not very big. But the thought of putting a full Christmas tree in our home just didnt seem like the smartest idea" you smile. Standing up you go over to it. Gently touching the pine needles on it
"Where did you get it from?" you speak softly. As if your breath might blow the tree away.
"Guy near work was selling 'rejected' trees. Ones that grew in a weird shape or didn't grow properly. This one just didn't grow properly" you let out a soft chuckle as you nod. He moves his hands, moving them to in front of him (even though you were so distracted by the tree you didn't realise they were behind his back). Pulling out a small bag and holding it out for you
"An early Christmas present". You meet his dark brown eyes and bite your bottom lip slightly, taking the bag from him you open it up. About half a dozen small ornamental figures sitting inside.
"Eddie... They're beautiful" you pull one out. Smiling as you admire the small, festive rocking horse. You wrap your arms around his neck. Hugging him close to you. The familiar smell of leather and cigarettes filling your nose as he wraps his arms around your waist. You kiss the side of his head before moving away, smiling at him. "Come on. Let's decorate our tree". He chuckles slightly as you carefully empty the bag. Placing the items next to your tree so you can look at them properly.
An angel among the items you pick it up. Straightening out the wings slightly before placing it on top of the tree. You feel him place a hand on your lower back as he grabs one of the ornaments. Placing it onto the branch. The both of you placing the remaining items onto the branches of the tree. You feel him wrap his arms around your waist as he holds you close to him. Your back pressed firmly against his front as you place your hands over his arms.
"I think this is the perfect tree for our perfect home" he kisses your shoulder blade before resting his chin on your shoulder. Nodding at your words.
"I only try and get the best things for my queen" you chuckle slightly. Turning around he moves his head, his hold on your waist loosening slightly as you face him. Hands resting on your hips as you put your arms around his neck. Your fingers touching the soft curls of his hair.
"How did I get so lucky to have you?" a soft smile forms on his lips as he looks at you. Brushing a few hairs out of your face as he speaks in a kind tone
"I think I'm the lucky on in this relationship" you smile. Leaning forward and kissing him softly
"I love you Eddie Munson" you say before planting your lips to his again. He brings both his hands up, cupping your face. Moving away his eyes scan your features, thumb gently stroking your cheekbones before he kisses you again.
"And I love you, my queen" he places a kiss to your forehead before he motions at the book on the bed "What book have you got this time?" you grin. Taking his hand in yours as you pull him over to the bed, sitting down as he goes next to you. He leans near you. His hand resting on the bed behind you as he looks at you. A smile on his lips as you start talking about your book.
"So... Its a romance?" he half mocks. You shake your head, a soft laugh leaving your lips
"No. It's a fantasy book about mythical beasts"
"Where the main character and villian end up hooking up at the end?"
"Well..." a small blush appearing on your cheeks as you look down at your hands "Yes. I suppose it does have some romantic elements to the story line" you mutter. Causing him to let out a low chuckle. He takes your hand in his, kissing the back of it before moving the pillows to rest against he wall. He clumsily takes his shoes off, discarding them on the floor as he brings his legs up and onto the bed. Resting his back against the wall. He picks the book up in his hand, holding it out to you with a smile
"Care to read to me?" you smile, biting your bottom lip. Taking the book from him you lie your legs out next to his, sitting close to him as you find the spot you were at. He puts an arm around you as you lean close to him. His other arm resting over his stomach as he looks at the book. Listening to your calming voice as you tell him the story. Your eyes occasionally glancing up to look at the Christmas tree that you shared in your home.

Mistlewoes (rating, G)
A lil InuKag Christmas drabble for you lovely folks. Sorry it's so short, I've been a little dry on the motivation, lately! Thanks to @nukawin for the prompt, here. ~*~*~*~*~
Inuyasha didn't know how this could have happened... Had he not been diligent enough? Had he missed something that only existed in Kagome's time? Something so subtle it had slipped past him? What a conniving and dangerous world she lived in!
All these thoughts and more shot through the hanyou's head as he faced down the giant bear that was currently roaring and standing taller to try and intimidate him away. He already had procured several herbs from Kaede and was working on the meat and organs.
This had all started when he overheard Kagome's family talking. Something about getting a tree for some disease. He forgot the name, but it had to do with toes.
He struck down the bear, harvesting everything he could before he moved on.
Dammit, how could he have let Kagome's toes get sick?! Or was it some kind of possession? Maybe he'd have to fight, after all. Hmmm... Well if this method didn't work, he'd try that. Lugging his haul towards the Well, Inuyasha stewed in his worry.
“Inuyasha-kun! My, what's all this?” Mrs. Higurashi looked shocked at his cargo when he made his way into the house.
“I heard Kagome was sick, so I brought some stuff to make her better. Is she in her room?”
“Sick? She never told me anything about that.” The woman looked even more alarmed.
Now Inuyasha was really confused. “I heard you and the old man talking about it and you said a tree would help bring it out of her toe? I got more stuff just to help her recover, though.”
Mrs. Higurashi seemed to realize something and lifted a hand to stifle her laughter. “Oh, that's sweet of you, dear. I'm sure Kagome will appreciate it. She'll be down soon, she's in the bath at the moment.”
He nodded. The warm water would probably make her feel better, as well. He moved to deposit his pack of items when something stopped him in his tracks. “Holy hell, is that the tree?!”
“Yes, it's called a Christmas Tree. We get one and decorate it every year around this time.”
Inuyasha gaped. “So this happens a lot? Is it a curse, then?! Is that why you have those weird shiny shimenawa ropes and shikigami all over it?”
Mrs. Higurashi hummed in thought, seeming to debate how to explain something to him. But Kagome chose that moment to come downstairs.
“Inuyasha? Why are you here?”
“Kagome!” he hurried over to her. “You'll feel better soon, I brought some things to help in addition to the tree! How are your toes?”
Kagome only furrowed her brow. “My toes? What are you talking about?”
“I think,” her mother supplied, “that there's been a little mix-up. Inuyasha-kun seems to have overheard me and father discussing our mistletoe.”
Kagome's mouth formed a small 'o' as she took in his worried expression and the pack of ingredients behind him. Luckily she couldn't quite see the viscera from there. She grabbed his hand, confusing him more, and pulled him over to an odd looking plant he'd never seen before. It was hanging near the equally odd tree.
“This is mistletoe, Inuyasha. It's not a sickness, it's for-... Well...”
Her confirmation that she wasn't actually suffering from anything did cause him to relax a bit, but it was quickly replaced by curiosity. She may not be sick, but her cheeks were quickly becoming red. A fever?
“For what?” he asked gently, moving his hand to touch her forehead and check for a temperature, ignoring her embarrassed inhale.
“It's, um... for this.” With that, Kagome stood on her tippy-toes, his hand still on her forehead, and pressed a kiss to his cheek.
It was warm. It was slightly wet. It was soft. It was wonderful. It was... over way too quickly, leaving Inuyasha unable to do anything but stare at her and slowly put his hand back down. She smiled, and even through his shock, he wanted to smile back.
Mrs. Higurashi giggled, the sound breaking both teenagers out of their little trance. Both blushed, but the knowing mother seamlessly moved them on to a new topic. “Would you like to stay for dinner, Inuyasha-kun? After all, you brought such lovely gifts for Kagome and she can explain all about Christmas to you.”
Kagome cleared her throat tactfully. “That sounds... good.”
Inuyasha nodded. “Sure.”
No way in HELL was he leaving until he got to kiss her back! Even if it took all night!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~|fluffy content ahead|~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You had been sitting on the sofa in you and Chris's shared house looking out the open doors letting in the sunlight. Your place was mostly made of wood. You found it comforting to look out and see the tall green trees, your Christmas tree was one of them. It stood tall decorated with the ornaments you had hung up with Chris's help of course. You were so excited when he had brought it home. You had grown quite bored after a few hours since Chris was working on a project and the dogs were resting in there beds near the door. It wasn't that you were neglected by Chris, you just missed his attention.
You couldn't for the life of you understand why they'd given your husband a job around Christmas anyway. You had just been in his office checking in on him from time to time. He was deeply concentrated on what he was doing, so much so that he didn't move his eyes to look your way when you entered. You understood he was busy so left to give him space; that was over an hour ago and you couldn't help but worry a bit since he hadn't come down to eat but you really didn't want to disturb him while he was working. It made you a bit anxious, though Chris wasn't the type to blow a fuse if you did go talk to him, that was just how you were. You sat for a moment debating on whether or not you should go ask him to come eat but you quickly shut the questions out; you are his wife! you could make him food.
You nodded as If confirming it as you made your way to the kitchen. "Eggs and bacon are fine" you mumbled, pulling the carton and pack from the fridge, reaching for a pan and throwing the items on the stove. Chris was typing away on his computer when the smell filled the space. He looked up for a second, had you been cooking yourself something he thought while looking over his laptop. "Good she remembered to eat" he said to himself and went back to work content with the fact that you were taking care of yourself. A few hours passed while you cooked everything before plating it. You decided half way through to make hot chocolate with a candy cane resting in the mug, a few marshmallows floating on the steaming liquid as you carried the plate up the steps to him.
You pushed the door all the way open admiring your husband and how attractive he looked, focused on his task before knocking as lightly as you could with the food in your hand."Chris" you called softly and he looked up at the sound of your voice, a warm smile on his face at the sight of you. "Oh honey, you made me breakfast," he said, reaching for you as you walked to him, you nodded. "I wasn't sure if you'd want to come down so I made it and brought it to you" you say as you sit it down. "and you made hot chocolate!" He beamed, causing you to giggle while nodding. Chris had always been so adorable to you, he had a child like nature to him at times that never failed to melt your heart.
"You're the best. I wouldn't know what to do without you angel" he said, pulling you in his lap as he pressed kisses to your entire face, his beard tickling your skin making your nose scrunch up. He pulled back, blue ocean eyes looking at you with adoration and love. You smile at him, the look reminding you of the first time you saw him. He looked at you like you held the stars and the moon in your grasp. "I love you" he said in a haze, taking in your beauty like a fine art piece as his eyes searched your face. Your eyelashes flutter as the familiar butterflies and heart ache feeling fills you. You kiss him gently as you cup his face letting your eyes shut, his lips move with yours passionately. "I love you more" you say, pulling back.
You place an ornament on the tree and take a step back to admire it and see if it would fit the spot you had placed, you nod before turning around only to run straight into Taehyung’s chest, his arms instantly wrap around you, and you lean into his hold and wrap your arms around him while laying your head against his chest.
“Tae…” You whisper and close your eyes to take in his embrace and warmth. You turn your head right against his chest and take in a deep breath, his scent quickly fills your lungs, and you can feel yourself slowly growing content and practically melting into him, you lift your head and rest your chin against his chest to look up at him. “You’re home, when did you get here?” He dips his head lower, his nose rubs against yours.
“Just a few moments ago,” He whispers. “I was about to help you place the ornament on the tree, but I was too late,” You move onto your tippy toes, and he lowers his head just a bit more to press his lips against yours, kissing you slowly and softly. Your eyes shut in content as you take in the feeling of his warm lips moving against yours. One of his hands moves to the back of your head and gently holds onto your head to keep you from pulling away for a few more seconds. “I missed you so much today,” He mumbles once he finally breaks the kiss.
“I missed you too,” You mumble. He takes a deep breath as he leans his forehead against yours, taking a few extra moments to be as close as he possibly could to you. “How was your day?” He slowly lifts his head as he takes in a deep breath.
“It was long without you near me,” He says as he opens his eyes. You open your eyes and look into his beautiful brown eyes, the man in front of you is your world, he was practically everything to you. “It was good though, but it’s even better now that I’m here with you,” You slowly unwrap your arms from around him. “About to help you decorate our Christmas tree,” He releases his hold from around you.
“I’m so glad you’re here,” You say, not yet moving away from him. “And glad you’re here to help decorate,” You point towards the box that contained the decorations. “I needed someone to decorate the bottom of it while I do the top half.”
“Not the other way around?” He asks as he steps towards the box. You shake your head and watch as he takes out several decorations before moving towards the tree. “You’re the boss,” He sits down next to the tree and places the items down in front of him before starting to hang them onto the branches. “Aren’t you going to help?”
“Hey, I’m coming,” You say with a smile on your lips. “Don’t tell the boss what to do,” You make your way towards the box and take out a few decorations before making your way to the tree and stand next to him and putting the decorations onto the branches.
“How was your day?” He asks. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here to help get the box out and help set up the tree,” You glanced down at him and saw him half pouting at the branch he was about to decorate.
“Don’t apologise,” You say. “You know I can handle this on my own,” He hums as he places an ornament on the branch. “It couldn’t help, you had a schedule, I would rather you do the schedule today instead of later…” He nods and looks up at you. “We have next year, and the year after that, and the year after that, and so on.”
“You’re right…” He says. “We have our entire lives to take out the tree, and set it up,” He gets up from his spot and goes back towards the box to retrieve more decorations from it. “Can I drag this closer?”
“Hmm, you can,” You say. You watch as he lifts the box before moving it closer to the tree. “Is there a certain colour we need to get more of?” He places the box down next to the tree before looking inside. You hang the last ornament in your hand on the tree branch before moving next to him.
“I think we should get teal, or turquoise,” He says. “That seems to be the colour we need more,” You nod your head and take out an ornament from the box. “We’ll go tomorrow?”
“Hmm, we will,” You say and turn towards the tree. “We need some new lights also, the others don’t seem to work for some reason…” He picks up the lights and inspects them. “I think the wires may have gotten damaged,” He nods his head before putting them back down.
“It seems like it,” He says. “All right, it’s settled, we’ll go get everything we need tomorrow,” You hang the ornament onto the tree before turning to move back towards the box, only for him to wrap his arms around you and pull you into a hug, you immediately wrap your arms around him and place your cheek against his chest, closing your eyes as you take his warmth in once again.
“This was sudden, but I don’t mind one bit,” You say. He gently hums, and you feel him rest his chin on top of your head as one of his hands moves to the back of your head to hold onto you while his other hand is resting on your mid-back.
“You know…” He begins and takes in a deep, slow breath. “Sometimes when we hug, I don’t ever want to let go,” You smile at those words, knowing how much he loved and cared for you. “It just feels… right,” You take your bottom lip between your lips as you wait for him to continue. “Being in your arms, and here with you.”
“Tae…” You whisper and move your face against his chest before you look up at him. “You’re my home, you know that, right?” He nods his head as his brown eyes meet yours. “And the fact that you don’t want to let go of our hugs just makes my heart flutter and grow even fonder of you,” He gently smiles at your words and tilts his head lower. “So you’re aware of how madly, and deeply I’m in love with you also, right?”
“I know,” He whispers. “And I’m well aware angel,” His nose brushed against yours, and you could feel his slow breathing against your lips. “Which means you’re probably also aware of how madly and deeply I’m in love with you,” You slowly nod your head, careful not to bump your head against his nose. “Good,” He mumbles before pressing his lips against yours, your eyes shut for the moment, and you feel his hand on your mid-back slowly move down to your hip before you feel him slowly guiding you backwards. Your back hits the wall moments later, and he slides his hand from the back of your head to your cheek to cup your face.
“Tae,” You mumble against his lips. “Tae…” He pulls back, and silver strings of saliva break off between you both. “Tae…” He licks his lips, making you aware of how warm you felt and how red his looked after the brief make-out session you just had. “Should we… move this to the bedroom?” You watch as he takes his bottom lips between his teeth before releasing them as he begins to smile.
“If we do, we won’t finish this tree tonight,” He says. “Do you want to finish the tree tonight?” You bite the inside of your cheeks as you think everything over, you did want to finish the tree, but you also did want to be as close as possible to him, especially after the kiss just moments ago.
“You’ve just given me such a hard choice,” You say, which makes him chuckle. “I think we need to finish this tree, we need to see how much decorations we need to fill it completely,” He nods his head, and lifts his head the slightest bit and softly kisses your forehead.
“I agree, even though I so badly want to go to the bedroom,” He says. He takes a step back, and drops his hand to your arm and slowly slides his hand towards yours. “Let’s finish this, and then we can head to the bedroom,” Taehyung sat on the floor again and pulled the box closer to him before leaning over it and grabbing an ornament.
“That sounds like a plan,” You say. He hands you an ornament before taking one for himself to place on the tree. This continues on slowly as you move around the tree until it is fully decorated with ornaments and nothing else aside from the tinsel was left in the box. “We’ll add that tomorrow when we have the lights,” You say as you move the box further away from the tree.
“Hmm, It looks good so far,” He says as he stands from the ground. “We did a good job on it,” He moves to stand behind you and places his hands on your hips and his chin on your shoulder.
“We did,” You say. His arms slide around your middle, and you place your hands on top of his. “We work really well together on this,” He turns his head and buries his face in the crook of your neck. “Now we need to decorate the rest of the room.”
“Anggeelll,” He whines into your neck. “Can’t we do that tomorrow too?” You couldn’t help but smile. “I think we really should go to bed, and rest up,” His lips brushed against your neck as he spoke, and you could feel his hot breath blowing against your neck. “We need to build up our strength and energy for tomorrow.”
“Hmm, is that it?” You ask in a teasing tone, knowing exactly what will happen once you reach the bedroom. “If that’s what you call it, then maybe we should turn in for the night,” You feel him take your hands in his.
“We should,” He says as he slowly turns you to face him in his arms. “Let’s go rest,” He releases one of your hands before slowly turning towards the hallway that leads to the bedroom.
“I have a feeling that rest won’t be what we’re doing,” You say as you follow behind him with a smile on your lips. You managed to shut the lights off on your way out of the living area as he was leading you towards the bedroom.
“We will rest… just not right away,” He says as he glances at you with a mischievous smile.
Just a short seventeen hours later, you take a step back after hanging the newly bought lights on the tree with Taehyung and admire it, he places his hands on your hips as you both admire the tree.
“And now, time for the star,” He says and picks up the star. He turns to you and hands it to you. “Put it on for us,” You take the star and move closer to the tree and reach up, moving onto your tippy toes and carefully placing it at the very top of the tree. “Let me turn on the lights,” He moves towards the switch and plugs the lights in, the tree immediately lights up, and he moves to your side. “We did well.”
“We did,” You say and turn to him. “We did a very good job,” You wrap your arms around his neck and pull him down to your height. “We should do this again next year.”
“We should,” He says before his lips press against yours, kissing you slowly.
