"Where's puffball?" Jungkook asks, carefully walking into your apartment, visibly tense as he follows you slowly, rather taking a look around.
"Where he always sleeps." You simply say, and Jungkook needs to think for a second, before his face turns towards the corner near your entrance door, where a small coffee table stands instead of the tiny red dog bed he was expecting-

"Oh.." jungkook can't find the words, his throat suddenly clogging up. Everyone always said how ugly that dog was, and yeah, objectively he was- with the overbite and tongue hanging out, he truly wouldn't have ever won a beauty contest. But you loved the little guy- and Jungkook loved him too, despite his constant yapping.
"Died of kidney failure last year December." You shrug as you search through a bookshelf, opening a folder with documents. "Wasn't surprising."
"I'm.." he starts, before he bites his lip, scratches the back of his neck. "I'm sorry."
"For what?" You chuckle, trying to just brush it off. Truth be told it still hurts to talk about it- but you don't want him to know that. "You didn't kill the guy." You joke, taking out some paperwork as you sit down on the couch.
"No, It's not that-" he says, eyes focused on the grey-ish pull out couch in front of him.
The same you both made love on, years ago, the same he held you on through the entire night before you went for a round two in the morning, the same he decided that he needs change on.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there. To.. comfort you." He offers.
Again, only a shrug of your shoulders. You don't acknowledge him at all, it feels like.
And he can't even blame you.
"Here- that should be all the papers for the car." You instead change the topic, holding out the documents- which he takes, though he sits down next to you as well, with a respectful distance. It feels off, awkward, like punishment for his cowardly behavior years prior.
It's like you switched sides- your tattoos covered up by simple black leggings, blank white top covering your upper half. The only hint of color is in the split ends of your hair- though even that's faded to the point of almost being unrecognizable.
And now he's the rebel of the two of you, going against the norms with his tattoos and piercings and hair and everything- something he'd always admired you for, back then.
But the world had finally broken you down it looks like- society having forced you into submission after all, despite your back then huge ambitions.
"Are you sure I can just.. have it?" He asks again, just to make sure you really don't want the car any longer- and you nod.
"I had a seizure three months back, so I'm not allowed to drive anyway." You say nonchalantly, leaning back against the couch, arms and legs crossed to almost fend him off it seems like. "Not that I'd want to ever again." You confess.
"..down the old EDM club." He suddenly says, looking at you. "Near the main road. That was you?" He asks, and you nod, though your furrowed brows and challenging eyes show clearly that you're asking for why he knows about it. "I.. kept up with the news and.." he sighs, running his fingers through his hair, the other hand careful not to clutch the papers too hard. "I wanted to know you're alright."
"Cool." You simply say, nothing else.
He looks at you, waiting for something more you might day- but you don't. You just look at him with a strange mixture of emotions he can't really distinguish. It's all washed together into one muddy mess- and he knows it's his fault that you're so on guard.
He's a stranger to you now, after all.
"Car was never fixed up, by the way." You say, moving to get up. "So you've got some work to do or money to spend." You say, and Jungkook gets up as well, walking after you towards the door that you open for him.
He slips back into his Chelsea boots, before he looks back at you, mouth opening before you can even deny him. "I know you're pissed at me." He says. "And you got every right to."
"Great we talked about that- now leave." You say, pointing out the door.
"I'm not gonna say this to get my dick wet." He tells you with a serious face, as you stare him down, daring him foe his next words. "But I need you to know that you.. what happened between us, that was fucking special." He says. "So much so that I knew I had to change in order to.. become someone." He says.
"Someone what?" You ask, crossing your arms defensively- because his words are getting to you.
"Just someone." He explains. "I wasn't anyone at all back then. Just.. a puppet who did what I for told. I had no personality. No ambitions, nothing- I only had you." He words out, and your gaze softens. "And I couldn't stay with you because.. I would've probably hurt you at some point."
"You still did." You say, and he nods, tongue playing with his piercing.
"I did." He agrees. "But not as bad as I would've if I'd stayed." He tries to justify. "I- listen, can't we.. start over?" He wonders, looking at you with hopeful eyes. "We're basically strangers by now anyway, aren't we?"
You are.
The jungkook in front of you is nothing like the blank canvas he used to be. He's vibrant despite the lack of color he's actually wearing, full of emotions, opinions and views. This jungkook is filled to the brim with things-
While you've become empty instead now, taking his place.
"I don't think I'm the person you remember." You deny. "We don't fit- in fact, we never did." You shake your head.
"Five years might change a lot-" he says, round black orbs watching you intently. "-but the won't change what's in here." He says, offers, hopes, inked finger gently pointing to where your heart sits underneath the shirt and your skin and bones.
And much to your demise, he seems to be right.
Because you're sure he can probably feel it beating faster from this faint touch alone.

Note: Sorry for being late I'm a mom first then a writer second
I had finally moved out on my own. Finally getting a place of my own and also a tag along of my own... a Iron Warrior whom wasn't giving me a name. Was unsure if this was a bond or just a small curiosity... but either way he just helped moved me in and took some food as payment like most astartes.
"Ferrox you better not be eating the cookies!" I say as Ferrox was like a cat sometimes when it was quiet it meant he was getting up to something. I've had to scold him as since he was being very non committal with me I wasn't going to let him tinker in my house. And besides I had to get everything ready for my parents to visit.
"Ferrox no you can't thinker with that." I say as I see him pull the boxes of Ikea furniture into the main room. He says something I don't understand... I'm not bothering with learning Gothic until he decides to stay with me or not. But I can see his frown as if he is asking why he can't help with that. "My parents are visiting." You say and he just responds back not wanting to listen.
Before I can try to get him out the doorbell rings and I head over opening the door. "Mom, Dad, Kester!"
Ferrox paused as he could hear the unmistakable gait of another space marine.
I could hear Ferrox walk up behind me as I was giving Kester a hug and then I could hear Ferrox growling... like legitimately growling. "No No no!" I say as Kester moves between my parents and me and Ferrox. Kester was out of armor while Ferrox was in armor so if a fight went down Kester would be at a disadvantage.
"You should have told us you got an Iron Warrior." My dad says a little disappointedly.
"Yeah well he comes and goes as he pleases I don't even know if we're bonded and I just happened to be the current person who has been taking care of the local feral Iron Warrior." I say as I jostle to get around the wall that is Kester.
"BOYS!" I shout causing both of them to look at me. "Okay either you have to leave Ferrox or you both have to get along. So stop growling at Kestor... now." I say glaring up at the Iron Warrior who to my surprise acquiesces. I move inside as he is frowning at the furniture now knowing why I got it.
Lucky for me I bring the piece of furniture to the spare room which has several boxes. I give Ferrox some of those cookies he was eying as he broods. I'm far too busy to notice how he slips away into the room Kestor is in... I'm too busy drinking wine with my mom and dad to notice the two spaces marines slip out of the apartment to only return with spare lumber and paint... and a lot of other items that should have all been found inside of the Ikea boxes.
I pause coming out of the bathroom as I hear both Kestor and Ferrox in the room and go to open the door before Ferrox pushes the door closed.
"What is it little one?" Kestor says slowly through the door.
"Was just making sure you two are getting along... are you enjoying building the furniture?"
"Yes little one we have come to a truce. We are fo- um we are working together." Kestor says switching his words after a mysterious thump. I was worried about what they were getting up to.
"You're not building like a bug out shelter or something are you?" I feel the need to ask.
"No." I hear two voices rumble and I just nod to myself.
"So what are the boys up to." My dad asks.
"Building. Seems they formed a truce and are working together... which means I have no idea what the room is going to look like afterwards." I say with a sigh as I don't hear any powertools or anything so maybe they are just building the furniture.
Eventually the two come out of the room and seem a bit more friendly with each other but Ferrox is keeping me out from looking as Kestor allows my parents to look but not me.
"Alright sweetheart we're going to go back to the hotel." My dad says before kissing my cheek as I give them both a hug and kiss and doing the same for Kestor.
Once they are all gone I look at Ferrox whom this is the first time he's stayed so long. "Alright show me what you two did."
I open up the guest room door holding my breath as I look at the room. The furniture looks wildly different from what I had gotten... I don't think a single piece was built in the way it was suppose to be but it was all laid out so very nicely... I don't remember buying a book self... I'm pretty sure there were dressers... I raise an eyebrow as I realize they brought in outside wood and pieces. I chuckle softly.
I lean against him and do my best to wrap an arm around his waist, "Thank you Ferrox. What you and Kestor did means a lot to me." Of course Ferrox preens under my praise. And does more preening as I walk around the room looking at each piece of furniture.

Aging up characters and questionable content
Theres a lot of drama going on in the avatar fandom and I just wanted to elaborate my opinion on this, since it affects me and my works too.
I‘m trying to be as respectful as possible and chose my words wisely because I really don’t want to get canceled or upset people.
First of all, I just want to make it clear that everyone is entitled to have their own opinion, especially about sensitive topics like these and I fully respect that!
I have a few mutuals and I also follow a handful of other great authors who consider aging up minor characters as questionable and that’s absolutely fine with me. As long as you don’t treat me as less than a human, you will always have my full respect. I‘m always trying to be friendly to everyone and I obviously still support your works, even if we don’t share the same opinion on this.
I also don’t force them or literally anyone to consume my content and I know that some of my mutuals (probably most) only follow me for my fics about characters that are canonly adults (Jake, Quaritch, Tonowari, etc…) and I don’t mind that either.
I do my best to make sure that my fics are tagged properly, that I use the correct content warnings and also the 'read more' option, so everyone who’s not interested in certain posts can simply ignore them. I’m also always up for constructive criticism and please don’t hesitate to let me know if I didn’t include any important warnings on my fics or if there are any triggers that I forgot to mention.
What I’m trying to say is: I appreciate if people just scroll past content they’re not interested in. If I can do it, you can do too. No matter how questionable some fics may be, nobody is forcing you to consume them. As long as the author tags their fics properly, of course!
Which is why I‘m also speaking up to every author out there: tag your fic properly! Make sure people can avoid your works if they contain anything that could be triggering– that goes from soft to explicit smut, to non-con, to dub-con and to literally any kinks, AU’s and tropes there are. Give your readers a warning beforehand, so they know what they’re about to consume. And please, please, please make sure to use the 'read more' option on tumblr (this is very important to me personally too)! And if someone points out that there are warnings or tags missing on your fics, please appreciate that they’re reaching out to you, I‘m sure their intentions were good. It really doesn’t hurt to include some more tags, even if they seem 'unnecessary' to you -> better safe than sorry!
Just be mindful of each other and treat everyone with respect, so we can all avoid any unwanted and most of all unnecessary drama and enjoy this fandom together.
Now, back to the main topic of this post:
I personally don’t view this type of content (or myself) as predatory or necessarily wrong, just because the characters are aged up. I‘m fully aware that sexualizing minors is wrong and it’s not my intention to create sexual scenarios about underage characters! To me, this is all just fiction. They’re not real. They’re literally blue aliens lol. I also consume and produce dark content like non-con and even stepcest au‘s, but that is something I would never ever support or want to experience in real life!!! I really can’t stress this enough, this is just fictional to me. And just because I age up characters or think they’re attractive in the movie, doesn’t mean I’m attracted to minors in real life. (I‘m not even attracted to guys that are only a year younger than me…)
I‘m also not aging them up to make myself feel better or because I think it makes the whole situation morally right, I’m aging them up because I’m only attracted to guys that are my age (or even older), which is basically the complete opposite of a pedophile as far as I know (?). I really hope that somehow makes sense and I’m not digging my own grave here…
However, I really can’t say this enough: I am absolutely fine that people have different opinions about that and if you’re following me and I ever post something that makes you uncomfortable, even if we’re mutuals/friends, you can unfollow or block me! I just want people to be comfortable on my blog and don’t force anyone to see content that is triggering to them or goes against their believes.
What I don’t support however, is people making fun of others publicly. Talk however you want about my work in private, idc. You can send me a DM if you want to say something, but please don’t encourage others to make fun of me, my works or others.
If you ever accidentally read something, because let’s say the author didn’t mention certain kinks / tropes or literal anything that’s triggering to you beforehand— reach out to them in private. And authors on the other hand, should be mindful of the content that they create and give people the option to avoid them. But please don’t cause public drama, don’t cause a literal witch-hunt. Online bullying can really fuck up peoples lives and mental health.
I think most drama could’ve been avoided if people were just more respectful towards one another and would handle things in private.
I really really hope that I chose the right words for this, as someone who’s not fluent in english it can be so hard to defend myself or get my point across lol

As a flower fairy, you were always happiest amongst your flowers. Weaving between petals, whispering encouragement, and tending growing buds; you wouldn't trade this life for anything. Of course, without the help of the water fairies, none of your charges would get very far. You were grateful, no doubts there, but you never really saw much reason to interact with them. Then one day, all of that changed.
It was the worst day you could ever remember having. It started with a mischievous squirrel breaking into your little house, accidentally ruining your favorite dress made of purple and white calla lily petals. Then you took too long choosing another dress and had to head in for work without breakfast, which had you feeling pretty cranky.
Now you were approaching your little corner of the gardens, trying hard to keep yourself in good spirits so the flowers wouldn't pick up on your sour mood. You told yourself that once you were among the leaves and petals, the heat under your skin would cool.
"LOOK OUT!!!" A frantic voice broke through your musings, bringing you back to the present moment. You glanced up just in time to see a large bowl of water hurtling through the air, heading straight for you. You barely had time to react, only managing a few hurried steps before the bowl landed upside down right over top of you.
Icy cold liquid fully soaked you within seconds, your wings now useless until they dried off. The irritation simmering just below the surface was now threatening to boil over. Whoever was responsible for this predicament would be getting an earful from you, that was for sure and certain.
The bowl was lifted off and you whirled, ready to lay into the first fairy you saw, only to freeze at the sight of the most gorgeous fairy you'd ever seen. Your anger evaporated immediately, replaced with curiosity and awe.
He was tall, for a fairy; you figured him to stand a whole head above you. Short black hair hung in loose waves, threatening to cover the bright blue eyes that gazed at you in concern. His face looked as if it had been sculpted from marble, smooth and unblemished. He wore a fitted, sleeveless blue shirt and knee-length trousers, both made of leaves from the Blue Hadspen, one of the few plants that grew only in your corner.
"I'm so sorry, I had no idea it would travel that far." His voice was deep, like the rumble of a creek pouring over rocks. "Are you alright? You aren't hurt, are you?"
You shook your head, smiling cheerfully to mask the sudden racing of your heart.
"I'm fine, thank you."
"But your wings!" He protested, looking extremely worried.
You giggled shyly, unused to such focused attention. "I have a friend who's a light fairy. She can get them dry in no time."
The water fairy smiled at you, relaxing a little. "May I ask your name?"
You smiled back, feeling your cheeks grow warm. "I'm Y/N."
"And my name is Seonghwa. Would you mind if I walked with you to see your friend? I feel it's the least I can do, seeing as it's my fault your wings got wet."
You nodded, thinking some company would be nice after the morning you'd been having. Seonghwa looked pleased by your response and the two of you set off.
Over the next few weeks you learned more about Seonghwa, and the two of you quickly grew closer. You had started to develop feelings for the kind water fairy, but were afraid to say anything in case it ended up ruining your friendship.
But after a talk with your light fairy friend Irene, who scolded you for not having said anything yet, you informed Seonghwa that you needed to tell him something and asked if the two of you could meet up later that evening. He agreed and soon the two of you were wandering casually through the forest, talking comfortably.
After a while you came upon a bench and sat down, taking a deep breath to steady your nerves. Seonghwa sat beside you, eyeing you curiously.
"What is it you wanted to tell me?"
This is it, don't get cold feet now!
Not knowing how else to go about things, you just blurted it out.
"I like you, Seonghwa, as more than a friend. To be honest I think it was more like love at first sight."
A cool hand touched your shoulder, cutting you off before you began to ramble nervously. Seonghwa turned toward you and looked at you with such strong emotion it felt like he was looking through you.
"Then you feel the same as I do." He declared.
Hope and joy surged to life within you. Impulsively, you threw your arms around his neck, causing him to laugh in surprise. His hands came to rest around your waist as his eyes fell to your mouth.
"May I-"
"Please!" You begged, leaning forward.
A delighted smile crossed his features and he surged forward, closing the gap between you as his plush lips met yours.
Giddy with a mix of excitement and relief, you melted into the sweet kiss, feeling as though you were floating high among the clouds. You felt content, like you were meant to be here, wrapped in Seonghwa's tender embrace.
You sat there for a bit, neither wanting to part, until a lack of air forced you to separate. Panting, you gazed into Seonghwa's eyes, still a little surprised that he actually returned your feelings.
"I'm glad you told me how you feel." He whispered, hands coming up to gently caress your face. "I don't think I could have managed much longer without knowing."
You giggled softly. "You have Irene to thank for that. If she hadn't pushed me, I probably wouldn't have said anything."
"Remind me to thank her next time I see her."
He leaned close, pressing his forehead against yours. "I love you, my precious lilly."
"And I love you, my handsome water prince."

For a moment I stared at Tatianna and Drew.
I watched their eyes anxiously scan the deep sapphire blue walls of my office in synchronized nervous movements before their eyes settled back on me.
My hands pressed onto the black desk in front of me, I squinted at my friends, thinking I surely heard them wrong.
“Sorry?” I asked as I tilted my head with a raised brow, waiting for them to clarify.
I wasn’t exactly a newbie to being a Domme.
But… but these are my friends.
Tati was like a sister to me.
I couldn’t possibly…
And there was also Drew’s troubling experience with his last “Domme”.
“Like Tee said… we trust you. There’s no one I’d feel more comfortable submitting to than you. It just makes sense. You know my story and I trust you not to push certain boundaries. And I love Tee -’’ Drew said as he eyed his girlfriend, and she finished his thought.
“But I’m just not Domme material.’’ Tati chuckled as did Drew and I.
I couldn’t argue with that.
I knew better than to judge a book by its cover when it comes to this lifestyle, but being as close as I am to the couple, the mere thought of Tati trying her hand at domination, especially where Drew is concerned, was more than a little amusing.
She isn’t exactly a pushover, she can be assertive when she needs to be.
But BDSM/Kink was a whole different ballgame.

My eyes continued to ping-pong between Drew and Tatianna as I gathered my thoughts.
I let my eyes settle on Drew’s frame, his statuesque frame practically dwarfing the black desk chair.

Despite my hesitations, it was humbling to know that they both trusted me with something as special as complete and total submission.
I licked my lips, choosing my next words carefully.
“One month. 30 days. We’ll test this out. We won’t go all in at first. You and I have only watched each other in scenes and that’s obviously not the same thing as actively playing together. I wanna make sure we do this the right way. I’m sure you understand, D.” I said.
And he did.
Drew is one of the most well-known and respected Doms/Switches in the lifestyle and my initial hesitation really had nothing to do with not trusting him.
And despite wishing he hadn’t gone through the hell he went through with Monica, I knew that because of that, he knew what it was like to have certain boundaries crossed and I absolutely trusted him to honor whatever boundaries I set in place and I would do the same for him.
Truth be told, the fact that he was held in such high regard in the community, and he trusted me of all people with something like this was more than a compliment.
And it was… overwhelming too.
But it was decided.
For 30 days, Drew McIntyre’s mind, body, and soul, would be mine…

One Song (my oldes wip, it's basically a story with 26 different povs, it's all people gathered at a bar with live music and each chapter is one pov from the same 4 minutes when a specific song is played, so it's just different people feeling different things about the same song. i haven't worked on that for like 6 years but i still love the concept and i want to return to it someday!)

the lonely stargazer (which is about a dude (gn) who goes to the beach with their telescope to stargaze - bc they have heard you can hear the mermaids sing to the lonely people there - and they do feel very lonely. and they do hear the mermaids and they are singing about myths and stories about the constellations they see in the stars which are different from the constellatios human beings see bc they are a whole different species with a different culture and yeah. dude is male in my head bc i started it with chanyeol in mind, but that's not set in stone. i can imagine making it a story where the main characters gender is not revealed at all - if i ever write it xD)
ancient mansion (wlw love story between a writer moving into an huge-ass old mansion she inherited from her aunt and a interior designer who has been illegally working on the mansion and keeping it alive basically. they fall in love while renovating)
house of poets (my biggest wip, the concept is too long to to break it down here so feel free to ask me about them. all i'm going to say is ... super-tired all-knowing seer x antisocial jock werewolf. i love them. and i am sorry that i put them in these situations-) - technically it's connected to ancient mansion and 'house of poets' is the title of both stories. but... that's very messy to explain. but i wrote a song about them.

moth song (i wrote that when a moth killed itself by flying straight into my pasta sauce that was literally still cooking on the stove-)
moth song pt 2 (i don't know what inspired that, one line i used there has been with me since 2021 i think, it was supposed to be a part of moth song but it became it's own thing and it's my favourite among my wips)

hey hey hey! yes ofc can try to help here :D disclaimer im not the best at explaining these and others may know more than me but will try!
okay so it seems like you've got a rating already-- the way that I think about ratings (since sometimes the details of which goes where get confusing) is that if it's pretty light hearted and has only very minor mention of heavier themes put it in General, Teen and Up for things that aren't super intense but reference some heavier subjects and use strong language (most fics in this fandom I feel slot into teen), Mature is for fics that have like a lot of violence etc
so Archive warnings Im like extremely bad at but basically those are for things that are like central stuff happening in the fic. If there's only minor violence I don't think you'd need the Graphic tag but if the fic frequently has some intense graphic fight scenes you might want to put that on. If the fic has none of the ones listed (note: not that they have no triggers at all, just that they dont have anything listed under archive warnings), mark No Archive Warnings apply. if there's like a surprising twist ending where a main character dies and you dont want to spoil, you can use Choose not to pick archive warning
uhhh for the most part fandoms should be easy, if you're working with a series that has several types of media in it, you may find a general tag for it and then a media-specific one; no harm in tagging both
for categories you're going to want to go with the ones that are front and center I would say. if its a fic focused on a lesbian couple but it has another gay couple of two guys that are present in the fic very actively, I would tag both M/M and W/W, but if that said gay couple weren't super present and just had a few lines, just tag W/W. hope that makes sense! Gen is for no romantic relationship, Other is... tricky but I see people use it for polyamorous dynamics or sometimes nonbinary pairings. Multi is just if there are multiple ones like the first example
ALRIGHT The relationships bar can be platonic or romantic, IF YOU ARE DOING PLATONIC/FAMILIAL RELATIONSHIP USE THE & SYMBOL whereas if you're doing something romantic USE /. if you're doing something queerplatonic I'll typically say go for & . tag just the main ones that come up like if it references a relationship happening way in the background don't put that there but otherwise ya include the main ones
if it's just a single person character study with no relationships leave it blank

okay my least favorite part of posting a fic: Additional Tags. It's hard to figure out what things go there, but what I would recommend including (non conclusive list just some stuff I see a lot) is:
Type of content (is it Fluff, is it Angst, is it Humor, is it Hurt/Comfort; there are tags for those aspects combined if you wanna tag Fluff and Angst!); if there's an AU what is it (Will take form of Alternate Universe - ___); if a popular headcanon is used (Easy example is "Sleepy Boys Inc as Family"; headcanons needed to get the story but arent explicit in canon); Time it takes place in canon (Not always there but sometimes u find tags like L'manberg Revolution etc); and common content warnings (ex. if it brings up a character's depression a lot, tag Depression; things like Childhood Trauma, Memory Loss, etc. If it's a multichapter and only one chapter lightly metnions something, you can just warn in the opening notes of that chapter and don't ahve to tag it, just go for overarching things!)
Work Title: many ways to do it! strong suggestions: song lyric, single word that sounds sort of cool or has thematic relevance, quote from fic, funny joke, etc. i recommend you do NOT take after me and make extremely long and hard to parse titles but tbh do whatever
co-creators is if two people worked on the fic so usually you won't do that but if two people did collab you can! I've seen some people add their betas or editors as co creators, I don't tend to since with my fics I only rope my beta into editing some of the chapters not all of them, but if you have a beta you can just thank them in opening notes. if they very actively always work on it you CAN make them a co-creator, that's up to you and them
Summary: If it's a multichapter in an AU setting, you might want to opt for a summary that starts off explaining the AU (ex. Doomsday never happened, and New L'manberg is still ... but like better written than that example) and then make a second paragraph (or second half of one paragraph) introducing the characters. If it's a singular oneshot that's like 1k-3k, sometimes u can just put like a single line or two explaining the premise. I can give more summary advice if u want but thats just like a bit of how I tackle that; you can also add summaries to each chapter in a multichapt except the first chapter which is just like a weird AO3 thing but those tend to be shorter and chapter centric!
Notes: people do these kind of differently depending, I tend to use Beginning Notes as any heads up for the chapter (like if additional context is needed) and CWs for that chapter in particular. if you have a beta you can thank them there, etc. etc.
End notes is where I see people talking about certain parts of the fic since by then the people have read the entire chapter, link possible fanart, link social medias, etc.
Collections are tricky but basically an example is, like, say you work on a Gift Exchange and there's a collection made by the gift exchange's host that collects all the gifts. You would want to add that fic to that collection straight up. If you want the fic to be anonymous and not have your name attached, type Anonymous in Collections and just kind of click one. Idk the differences between them but I think Anonymous_Fics is where i tend to add mine
Gifted works are just if u want one or more people specifically to uh have that fic gifted to them! yeah not much to say there. The checkbox below it is like, if you translate a fic into another language, if you record a podfic, if you write a fanfiction of a fanfiction, or if a fic is inspired off of anothers. I wouldn't say like if you wrote a superhero AU that you need to say it was inspired off of another superhero AU since that's a pretty generic trope, but like, if someone wrote something and this feels like in similar universe or just... was inspired by it, do that
clicking the series checkbox just makes a series, which is just collection of fics but you control the series. you can add series descriptors etc, and when you go to view the series you see all the tags of every fic within it. you can mark series as finished and give them funky names, etc. you can also bookmark entire series instead of just each individual fic, but you can't like kudos an entire series.
I dont get workskins but sometimes if you see really funky choose your own adventure fics they use those workskins. like if you wanna do something REALLY funky you can deffo do those but otherwise its not super needed so just ignore it for rn
You can opt for it to only let your work be shown to people logged into their accounts, so guests can't view them. Moderating comments means you get emails every time someone comments so you go and approve them; would NOT recomemnd this for fics with a lot of attention but if you get nasty comments or smth moderating comments can be a good idea. it just seems like a headache to me personally which is why i dont LOL
yeah you can pick who can comment, guests comments will ask for guests to put in a username (which will not be underlined meaning you cant click it, which is how u know its a guest) and their email so they can get ur reply. but u can just shut off comments if u want lol
Okay this is where people get funky so here's my recomemndation. Don't listen to the heard of misguided individuals that paste fics into HTML literally just go for Rich Text. Rich Text means if you have a google doc you can just, like, copy and paste it there. You can also type directly into Rich Test. HTML is just weird and funky so I don't recommend it. Sometiems Rich Text does weird shit but it hasnt fucked me over that much

I weirdly feel like I was asked this before, but then again couldn't find such an ask, so maybe it was in tags? Anyway, glad you like them haha!
IDK how to explain it, I guess I could share some of the thought process? I dunno if it'll be helpful to anybody, but I can try!
(long post ahead; this is kinda hard to summarize shortly, plus I wanna show some visual examples)
There's basically three categories I tend to consider & they are often connected and not fully separate things? Everything has an effect to everything, kind of. These things are Theme, Colors, and Setting/Role.
Theme = Something I might choose to base the character's design on, which influences everything from colors to outfit shapes and details.
I guess good examples for this are my Telepath twins, whose appearances from details to colors are inspired largely by their chosen theme:
Milo's theme is Moth, specifically an Imperial moth that is brown and yellow, hence his colors, fluffy collar/coat. Silas' theme is Monarch butterfly, which is why his outfit has oranges and blacks.
Colors = often based on the theme, but sometimes I can choose more freely by starting the process from colors instead, where I often consider what colors would contrast well/what colors would fit the character's personality for example.
Good examples for more color-based/colors as starting point for the design are Yaguro, Chouma and Mari. (Yes more moths, sorry lmao)
Their colors are largely inspired by their personality/story. Chouma has red contrasting his green to look more intimidating/striking to kind of further press home the point he's bad news, Yaguro's largely purple/blue color scheme with just hints of yellow is bit more "harmonious" I guess, to indicate his calmer nature despite his tough guy appearance. Mari is very bright and colorful to match her cheery nature.
(.....to be fair, their colors were also chosen cuz they looked cool lmao, but usually I have some level of conscious thought put behind it)
Setting = What kind of world the character lives in/what is their role. If it's a more fantasy setting (as my oc stories often are) giving them urban clothing/modern looking stuff tends to not work for me that well lol.
Pretty much all characters are influenced somewhat by this, but good examples of where the setting/role is the primary influence would be, well, actually the AU you mentioned, as well as The steampunk aesthetic of Stringmaster, so these two Tomuras. I feel like this is a bit self-explanatory lol
Like said, typically these three major...let’s call them my “design pillars” or whatever, are intertwined and all have an influence over what I’ll make. Typically I have one of them as the main starting point though, (Theme approach, color approach, or setting/role approach for the design) and I add stuff from the other two. I sometimes might even make some small rules to sort of keep things consistent if characters share something, such as their being; all moth spirits have dark scleroses and fluff, all corrupted moths have less fluff than non-corrupted ones, to give one example.
Of course, naturally, my own personal preferences influence design choices a lot too; I like making long-haired guys a lot, narrower eyes and generally pretty colorful characters hehe.
Everyone has a different way to approach this though of course, so you might find a different way of doing this is better suited for you! This is, like said, just my design process, how it sorta works.

Kakashi Week 2024 FAQ

You may also be looking for our 2024 prompts, or find our full guidelines helpful.
What kinds of works can I create?
Anything centred on Kakashi and inspired by one (or more) of the prompts! That goes for any media and any type of content, so long as the work(s) are newly created by you. No usage of generative AI is welcome in Kakashi Week.
What mediums can I work in?
We are a creation event, but so long as you have created something, it counts! That goes for fanart and fanfiction, of course, but also meta, not!fic style writings, GIFsets, physical crafts like amigurumi, etc.
Are there minimum requirements?
Only that you newly create something inspired by one of our prompts! Sketches and doodles are welcome! So are short or micro fics!
Do I have to work from the prompts?
All Kakashi Week submissions must be inspired by one of the prompts (including, of course, the Free Day, for which you are welcome to create to whatever theme or prompt you dream up, and Any AU, which can apply to any style of canon divergence as well as full-on AUs).
Do I have to use both prompts to participate on a day?
Absolutely not! If you wish to combine them, feel free; if you wish to write something separate for every prompt, we are impressed and you are welcome to do so! You are only required to use one prompt to inspire your work, however.
Can I combine a prompt from this event and [some other event] to inspire one work?
As long as it is within the other event’s rules, go for it!
Are early/late submissions accepted?
No submissions before September 15th, please!
Late submissions will be accepted until the end of September.
You're welcome to post previews, peeks, or snippets before the event, however, and if you mention/tag us we'd love to reblog them too!
Are non-Kakashi ships allowed?
As long as Kakashi (whether in a ship as well or not) is the main focus of the piece, any background/side ships are fine.
Are Kakashi/OC ships allowed?
Of course!
Is NSFW content allowed?
Absolutely! We do require you tag and warn appropriately, and keep NSFW content behind a cut if posting on Tumblr, but all ratings and content are welcome.
Is [sensitive/triggering content of some kind] allowed?
Absolutely! We do require you to tag and warn for the content appropriately, as well as tucking it behind a cut if posting on Tumblr, but all content is welcome.
Can I submit an older/previously posted work for the event?
Sorry, no. Only new works will be accepted for the event. New works that are connected to existing works or series are more than welcome however!
If I write for one prompt, is it okay if I draw for another?
Of course! Mix and match between whatever mediums you choose for any of the prompts that inspire you.
Can my work be a WIP?
Sure thing! As long as chapter one (or whatever) is inspired by one/more of our prompts and posted during the event, it's welcome! You can post the rest of the work at your leisure.
Does my work have to be in English?
Nope! Works in any language are welcome - just please tag/mention what prompt it's for in English, for the sake of our ability to locate and track your work!
What do I have to do for you to reblog my work?
We'd love to! Please mention us in your post @kakashiweek (you may also wish to use our tracked tag, #KakashiWeek2024, but those sometimes go astray), and also be sure that the above rules for NSFW or triggering content being behind a cut (with a warning) are followed. Fics (whether in Tumblr post or linked to another platform) must have a header that at minimum gives a rating and any ship(s) featured, and warnings if applicable; lengthy, as well as NSFW or triggering, works must be behind a cut.
What do I have to do to get my work in the AO3 collection?
Our AO3 collection (Kakashi Week 2024) is open but moderated solely to filter out any mistaken submissions and to be sure that we see all works for the event! All you have to do is submit your work to the collection and we’ll check that it’s for Kakashi Week so we can track it, then approve it! (If we haven’t done this within a day or so, feel free to reach out to us via message or ask on Tumblr.)

The ringing of your phone ripped you from your sleep, the shreds of a nightmare still clinging to your sweaty skin. You couldn't recall what the nightmare had been about, but an overwhelming feeling of terror lingered even now. Shaking your head to clear the cobwebs from your brain, you reached for your phone and answered the incoming call.
"Hello?"
"Y/N, where the hell are you?! You're 45 minutes late for your shift and Mr. Lee is losing his shit. You need to get over here as fast as you can!"
Looking at the time on your phone had your eyes in disbelief. How in the world had you slept this long? "Fuck, I'm so sorry. I'll be right over."
Cursing under your breath, you leap from bed and yank your uniform out of the closet. As you slapped on some makeup and dragged a brush through your hair, you prayed that your boss would be understanding and give you another chance. Throwing your phone in your bag and grabbing your keys, you raced out the door.
On the way to the restaurant you forced yourself to drive the speed limit, even though you wanted to go faster. Getting pulled over would just make you even later and that was the last thing you wanted.
Upon arriving you snatched up your things and ran across the parking lot to the back door. Flinging it open, you stepped in and were immediately greeted with Mr. Lee's bright red face. Freezing in place, you watched as a fat finger came up to wave in front of your face.
"I've had just about all I'm gonna take, young lady! I gave you this job because I'm a family friend and I felt bad for the position you've been put in. But compassion can only go so far, and I've given you too many second chances.
"At the end of the day, I have a business to run and it's not fair to me, the customers, or the other wait staff if someone has to cover your ass every time you oversleep. I really hate to do this, but today will be your last day working here."
You bit your lip to keep it from trembling as you watched him walk away. Deep down you knew he was right, and you felt incredibly guilty for disappointing someone who had been like a father to you. Taking a deep breath, you willed yourself to remain calm. The tears could come later, once you were alone. Right now you had a job to do, and you owed it to Mr. Lee to make your last day count.
As soon as you finished your shift, you headed to Mr. Lee's office to collect your final payment and turn in your name tag. The envelope he handed you was thicker than you'd expected, and you looked at him in confusion.
He smiled sympathetically. "Just because I fired you doesn't mean I stopped caring. I know things are hard right now, so I gave you a little extra to help hold you over until you find a new job."
You blinked, suddenly swallowing around a lump of tears. "T-Thank you Mr. Lee. I'm sorry things had to turn out this way."
Mr. Lee stood and hugged you tightly. "Me too. I'll still be checking in on you, so keep your chin up kiddo. Things will turn around one day."
Nodding, you thanked him once more and left the restaurant.
Back in your car now, you made the drive you've been making every evening for the last year and a half. After parking outside the hospital, you walked in and took the elevator to the cancer wing. You greeted the nurse at the nurse's station with a smile, after your many visits she had become something of a friend to you.
"She's in her room, having her dinner. She's expecting you."
You smiled at the nurse and walked down the left hallway. You'd memorised the room number by now. Pushing the door open, you smiled at the slight woman sitting upright in the bed eating her dinner from a tray.
“Hi Mom.” You said with a soft smile as you closed the door behind you.
Your mom looked up as you entered, her entire face lighting up at the sight of you.
"Y/N, my little dove, I was hoping you'd turn up soon! Have you eaten yet?"
You shook your head as you sat down in the chair situated next to her bed. "I came here straight after work, like always. I'll eat when I get back home." Reaching out to take her thin hand in your own, you changed the subject. "So, how was your day today?"
A grim look crossed your mom's pale features. "Dr. Kwang visited me this morning. He said the current course of treatment has stopped working, so they're going to have to start doing chemotherapy."
You felt your heart sink into your stomach. The chemo was going to be so much more expensive, and with you now out of a job there was no way you could pay for her to continue getting treated. Then you remembered the envelope in your purse with your wages plus the extra from Mr. Lee. You could keep a little out for yourself and give the rest to pay as much of the chemo as you could.
You spent some more time with your mom, then left to go find Dr. Kwang. He was in his office, probably expecting a visit from you due to the change in treatment.
“Ah, Y/N. I trust your mother told you about the chemo?”
You nodded and he continued.
“As we discussed previously, the chemo will cost more. Are you still able to support your mother's treatment?"
Taking the envelope from your purse, you flipped through the bills within, doing some quick maths in your head. Keeping back enough for you to get by for a little bit, you handed over the rest.
"This should be a good starting place until I can get ahold of some more."
Dr. Kwang smiled at you as he took the money. "I admire your drive, young lady. Most young people these days would just throw their parents in a home and never look back."
You blushed a little, unused to such praise. "She sacrificed so much to raise me all on her own, it's the least I can do."
"She must be so proud to have you as her daughter."
You blushed a little deeper, then put the envelope back in your purse and stood. "I'm proud to have her as my mother. Thank you for taking care of her when I could not. Good evening Dr. Kwang." You nodded to him once more and exited his office.
As you walked back to your car you ended up behind two young women not much older than you and happened to hear a part of their conversation.
"Have you heard that rumour about the Library of Illusion and the treasure that supposedly resides within?"
"I have actually. Isn't it supposed to be in the woods around the town?"
"Yeah it is! Maeri said she wanted to see what it was all about, so we're going up there this weekend to check it out."
Intrigued and wanting to find out more on your own, you stepped around the women and hurried to your car. On the drive home all you could think about was the "treasure" and how much it would help your mom with her treatment if you could get ahold of it.
Once you had returned home, changed into comfortable clothes, and eaten some food you booted up your laptop and Googled "Library of Illusion". The first result that popped up was a Wikipedia page containing the location, along with the sparse information known by the general public. Plugging the location into the GPS on your phone revealed that the Library was a good ways away from where your apartment was.
The town you lived in was in a bowl-like valley surrounded by mountains except for the cutout where the road was. The Library was nestled on a perfectly-sized plateau halfway up the tallest mountain in the eastern range, which put it out of reach for all but the most determined.
You hadn't been mountain climbing since your mom was first diagnosed with cancer, so you were rusty at best. But you'd do almost anything at this point to ensure your mom had the best possible chance of surviving. So you researched what gear you would need for such an arduous climb, then used the money from Mr. Lee plus some of what you had in savings to purchase everything.
It took several days for everything to arrive, but once the last package was delivered you began to pack things up and plan when you would begin your journey. You decided that the sooner you left, the sooner you'd be able to return. So you made plans to leave the following day as early as you could manage.
Your mind firmly made up, you went to bed earlier than usual. Tomorrow you would get that treasure and then you would be able to fully support your mom.
You woke the next day to the ear-splitting crash of thunder as rain pounded on the roof like it was trying to get inside.
"What a lovely day for mountain climbing." You muttered to yourself as you slipped from under the warm blankets to begin getting ready.
You dressed warmly to combat the cold rain and had a quick breakfast before grabbing your phone, gear and keys and heading out.
Twenty minutes later you arrived at the base of the mountain you would be climbing. Parking under a handy overhang of trees laden with thick ivy, you got out and began to gear up. By the time you were ready to start climbing, the rain had subsided and the sun was making its way out from behind the clouds. A smile rose to your face as you placed your hands upon the mountain and began to climb.
The next three days were a constant cycle of climb until dark, find a flat enough place to set up your tent, sleep until morning, then eat and begin the routine again. By the afternoon of day three you were starting to lose hope, thinking maybe this was all a dream and there was no library way up in the mountains.
Then you came to a flat place that seemed the biggest one you'd encountered yet, and your heart soared. Pulling your weary body up onto solid ground, you found yourself in front of a huge building that looked centuries older than it probably was. After a short rest and some food, you walked closer as a storm brewed overhead.
Ivy covered the majority of the brick walls, the gold on the door handles dim and tarnished. Taking a deep breath, you pushed them open and stepped inside.
The interior was far more well kept than outside, and if you didn't know better you'd have a hard time believing this was the same building.
The first thing that caught your eye was the front desk, or more accurately, the handsome man seated behind it. Feeling suddenly shy, you slowly approached him.
He was much more good-looking up close, bordering more towards beautiful than handsome. His hair was cotton candy pink, and slicked back stylishly. Chocolate brown eyes glanced up suddenly, amused at having caught you staring.
"May I help you?" His voice, almost as deep as the thunder roaring outside, jerked you back to the present moment.
"M-My name is Y/N, I heard about the treasure a-and…."
"And you wanted to see if the rumours were true?"
You nodded.
"Well, Miss Y/N, my name is Seonghwa and I am the Keeper of The Keys here in the Library. The rumours you've heard are more or less true. There is treasure here, but it is housed in the Restricted Section and requires several keys to access it."
Hope flared in your heart, and you leaned forward a bit. "How do I get those keys?"
"You must get them from the Guardians of the main sections within this library: Science Fiction, Horror, History, Mystery, Fantasy and Adventure."
"And how does that work exactly?"
"In each section there will be a special book that will send you into a dream-like state and transport you to wherever the Guardian is. The first time or two you might be somewhat aware that your surroundings are fabricated, but the deeper in you go the more real things will feel. Once you have obtained all the keys, bring them back to me and we can proceed from there."
Seonghwa led you over to a set of double doors and pulled them open. Inside you could see plaques announcing the many different sections. Determined, you stepped forward, deciding to go for the Mystery section first.
"I wish you luck Y/N." Seonghwa said as he closed the doors behind you.
