Crowley’s Special Lesson Themes Analysis

HELPPPPPPPP OMGGGGGGG WTF

Okay okay okay, first of all, I’m really flattered when some of y’all say I’m perceptive and such due to my theories, but tell me why I literally JUST realized that the lesson theme changes when Crowley drops in for a Special Lesson?!?!? 😭😭😭😭 L Kallisto moment. -100 perception.

Im not kidding I was literally so focused on Crowley’s chibi form that I never noticed that the music changed when Special Lessons were activated 💀 Self-roasting aside, I immediately went to search up the OSTs for Special Lessons. A huge thank you to this user on YouTube. I compiled the three videos just for my personal reference, but I highly recommend to listen to these songs they’re such a bop!!! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

I find it really fascinating that the “Dire Crowley” theme (the song that plays when you first open the game) is very foreboding, but the Special Lesson songs are rather flamboyant. Maybe I’m just hearing it wrong, but I like how a ringing bell-like sound can be heard in the Special Lessons songs. It seems like the passage of time through bells is a shared motif in Crowley’s songs? It could also be a reference to school bells.

I have a theory that these Special Lesson theme songs represent Crowley’s relationship and dynamic with each of the staff members. I separated each song into their different section to talk about, including their bpm/tempo, just because I think the details put into these songs as amazing! Note, I don’t know much about music and instruments haha, so please correct or feel free to elaborate on any information ∑(ﾟДﾟ)

Alchemy Special Lesson BGM (Crewel)

-100 bpm, Allegretto, and in D minor. Allegretto is lively, but it must be executed with a sense of restraint, elegance, and precision. It is not like Allegro, which tends to be happy and upbeat. Allegretto is quite literally “less than Allegro,” so it’s restrained. D minor is a key that is often related to feelings of desperation or distress, which is fitting for Crewel’s students. Although don’t take anything I say about the keys too literally (*ﾟ∀ﾟ*) “Major=Happy, Minor=Sad” is a gross oversimplification of keys, and a song can represent any emotion regardless the key it’s in. However, I think it’s worth mentioning because keys are still chosen purposefully to guide the listener to an interpretation of the music! ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪

-This is honestly one of my favorite songs from the game. I am LIVING for the doublebass in the background. It’s so jaunty and lively despite its deceptively simple sound. It keeps the tempo very well, I love it

-I relistened to the “Cruella De Vil” song that Roger sings in 101 Dalmatians, and it’s what gave me the idea that Crowley combines his theme with the individual teachers. This song has a elegant yet foreboding vibe to it, much like Roger says about Cruella: “she’s like a spider waiting for the kill.” If you listen to instrumental versions of this song, I feel like the vibe is there

-The Alchemy song feels a bit tense, especially near the end, where is feels like the instruments are fighting for attention and overlapping each other. Although Crowley and Crewel are both (SEEMINGLY) classy and get along surprisingly well in canon, both of their “teacher modes” are very intense. E.g Crewel with the whole pup thing, and Crowley just being unreasonable over all haha. Perhaps it is why Crewel and Crowley very rarely are on screen together? For both Crewel and Crowley to be present in a Special Lesson must be very stressful for the students, with Crewel being strict and demanding and Crowley just being nosy haha.

-Their relationship fascinates me, as they both seem to respect each other a lot. For Crowley, it makes sense, as he generally speaks favorably of the other staff members. But Crewel is rather critical of both Vargas and Trein, so why is he so tolerant of Crowley’s rather unreasonable behavior? Crewel seems to respect him and consider him to be kind, even though it’s obvious Crowley is not. And like I said, they don’t interact a lot in canon, and they mostly do when the other staff members are there too, so there’s very little time of them talking to each other specifically. But then it made me think how crows/ravens and wolves have a mutually beneficial relationship in the wild, with crows leading wolves to possible prey, and the crows feeding on the carcass once the wolves make the kill and eat their portion of the prey. Research has even discovered that ravens have close bonds with specific wolves in a pack, and often play tug-a-war with wolf puppies with sticks. Thus, ravens are often referred to as “wolf birds.” Due to this, some crows and ravens get along with bigger dogs too, as crows/ravens tend to like canines. So perhaps Crowley and Crewel’s positive relationship is a reference to this, and how they may just instinctually like each other? 🤔 Because I cannot think of a reference from the 101 Dalmatians, Snow White, or Sleeping Beauty to be made here with these two characters.

-So going back to how the instruments seem to be fighting each other in the end, perhaps it represents how differing Crowley and Crewel’s personalities and teaching methods are. Crowley is strict when necessary, but he’s far more tolerant with student antics and often acts even more immature than the students sometimes and allows fights/conflicts for the students “personal growth,” whereas Crewel has this intensity and energy with the students at all times, never wanting them to be out of line in any matter at all. Like the clash of their hands-off and hands-on methods, but at the end of the day, they’re both rather strict and it’s unfortunate when the students have to deal with them at the same time haha! In their Alchemy Special Lesson voice lines, both Jack and Rook express how intense the room gets, and Room saying HE feels like the prey now. Several other students say how they feel a chill in the air during Alchemy special lessons, with even Floyd saying he gets the “heebie-jeebies.”

History Special Lesson BGM (Trein)

-100 bpm, Allegretto, and in F major. Allegretto is a common tempo in classical music, alongside Allegro and Adante, so it’s fitting that Alchemy and History follow suit. Ernst Pauer describes F major to express peace and joy, but to have an underlying passing regret and melancholy. I could think of few possible “passing regrets,” with Trein in particular with the passing of his wife, whom he remembers fondly and has many habits in her memory. And of course, History in general causes many regrets.

-After listening to this one, I immediately went to go listen to the BGMs from Briar Valley in Book 7 lmaooo…I find it interesting how prominent wind instruments are shared between these songs, but I need to analyze further before I can say something more definitive 🏃‍♂️ It is interesting how the History Special Leason theme has this whimsical and fantastical feel to it- it’s very fitting.

-On this note, the middle-ish section of the song reminds me a bit of a marching band! Which is. Interesting considering it’s military origins 👀but maybe I have to admit that this is a stretch haha…something to think about though when I analyze Book 7’s music in the future.

-I’m really in love with the “call and response” theme they have with the woodwind instruments (clarinet and piccolo?? I’m apologize if that’s inaccurate, I don’t know much about woodwind instruments 😭 I listened to samples and just made my best guess,,,) clarinet plays a melody and a piccolo responds and repeats the same sound. Not to be dramatic af, but it lowkey sounds like a pair of songbirds who are courting each other, which makes me sad because I’m not normal over my silly Crowley theories🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️ When courting, a songbird “sings”so the other bird they are courting can respond. If the courting is successful, the pair duets the same tune, which is exactly what the piccolo and flute are doing. Crowley x Trein is real… (I’m kidding HELP). It goes to show that even though Trein scolds Crowley a lot, they clearly have some faith in each other, especially in Book 6 when Crowley assigns Trein as temporary Headmage. This “call and response” is a representation of this faith, with one calling, and the other responding when it’s necessary.

-Or if you’re ridiculous like me, it’s sad in context because Crowley is an isolated character, despite all the pairs of raven statues around the school haha!

-Interestingly enough, this is the one song out of the Alchemy and Flight themes that does not have a the “ringing bell” I was talking about. Interesting this is missing in the History class, as if time is not relevant/time has stopped. Or perhaps how sense it’s history, we are not at the “present” time.

-Overall, this song feels far more harmonious than the Alchemy song. I think it goes to show how genuinely dedicated Trein is about the study of History, given he’s done fieldwork in the past. Trein is able to keep Crowley relatively in line just like the students, so the song flows smoothly.

Flight Special Lesson BGM (Vargas)

-140 bpm, Vivace, and in A minor. Vivace means brisk, lively, which signals to the musicians to play with spirit and energy. This tempo is AMAZING, because Crewel and Trein’s were both at 100 bpm, right? But this song is at 140 bpm. It gives a dynamic sense of movement and vigor to the song. At this beat, it’s known that it may make some listeners feel restless, due to the beat being faster than a resting heartbeat range. It was an incredible choice for the Flight lessons with Vargas, as it is a gym/workout class! 140 bpm falls comfortably in aerobic exercises heart rate range, especially since where referring to teenage boys. Haha this may be obvious in music theory/composition, but I thought it was cool! (*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)

-I was surprised by this one, for how prominent the electric guitar is instead of the orchestra at the start of the song! Crewel and Trein go along with the orchestral theme rather well, making it a strong highlight of their respective songs. Compared to the other themes, the guitar feels overbearing. It’s very fitting for Vargas’ personality, for as we see in the special voice lines, Vargas is a bit much even for Crowley

-However, strangely enough it works, as the ending portion combines everything quite well. Vargas is one the staff members who I think has the most positive opinion about Crowley. Although Vargas is overbearing, he and Crowley get along really well. In events like Beanfest, they share an equally concerning enthusiasm of the sport of it all. They seem to have a lot together sharing their predictions and ideas for Beanfest, and Spelldrive is also a shared interest of theirs. Funnily enough, I think Vargas of all people is able to take Crowley’s antics more in stride than the other staff members, and vice versa.

-This song ends in a particularly exuberant manner. It goes to show how excitable both Crowley and Vargas be, and how they have high hopes for their students. Yes, they’re a bit much, but there’s a genuine liveliness they both share. Crowley even plays along with Vargas’ strange ideas, like how in an Unified Exam voice line, Crowley thinks that Vargas’ idea of making the student uniforms with heavier fabric to “build muscles” is a genius idea and he wants to look into it more.

-So perhaps this song deviates a little bit more from the classical themes to represent the antics these two have compared with the other teachers?

Did I overthink these theme songs WAY too much? YES LMAO 😭😭😭 But I am so genuinely surprised at how the different Special Lesson themes were made for each class. You would think that the song would be the same, since Special Lessons are rare and last for a short amount of time. It is why I have these little notes about each song, because if the time was spent to craft unique songs, I feel like there is a purpose and thought put behind it? Hmm, I’d like to study more about music to articulate my thoughts better, because I am very interested in Twisted Wonderland’s songs, and I know very little about music!

Edit: the brilliant and lovely @snakevsnis (💞) also sent me a brilliant interpretation that Crowley may also just be the type to “mimic” the personalities of the people around him, especially based on their habits to blend in. I love this idea! It makes me think how Crowley’s immaturity becomes far more rampant when he’s around the students. He’s even a character with a generous voice range, e.g his deep, serious voice in the opening prologue, versus any other time when he’s silly. It’s to the point where his “true” personality is currently ambiguous, as it tends to shift quite a bit. So yeah, I think these BGMs could be representation of this!!

Anyway if the Alchemy special lesson theme song doesn’t get played at my wedding, what’s even the point anymore. L spouse, L wedding, I’m ditching it immediately and running away into the night, taking all the gifts and money with me so I can finally buy a Crowley plushie (things perfectly sane people say)

Crowley’s Special Lessons

I love this new class! For once, Crowley is useful!!😂 I think this is perfect for farming for books. I mean, you also get items from flying and history. But, Crowley will also give different grimoires and textbooks. Perfect if you’re trying to level up magic. Plus, you earn 100 EXP for every lesson!

The night time setting makes it feel like the boys got detention.😆

I noticed something a while ago so I started paying attention after that. After taking lessons on different days, different times of the day, and with different characters, I’m think it’s safe to say that the Special Lessons (the 10 special lessons per day, not the ones triggered during normal lessons) all take place at 10:00. (At least, it appears to be 10:00 based on the hour hand’s position; there are more than two lines marking the space between the 9 and 12 positions. But I digress.)

My Flying Tutor.... Oh Boy

Image Is Not Mine, credit goes to artist. Nor do I own Twisted Wonderland. The only thing that I own is Lucy.

Lucy Caddel is a magicless student of Night Raven College. That has always been a well known fact on campus.

As well as the destruction and mischief her other half, Grim, tends to get into, how she helped snapped Riddle out of his overblot and has thus, somehow, befriended the entire dorm of Heartslabyul, prefect of the abandoned and haunted dorm known as Ramshackle, and still manages to study and do well in class while simultaneously helping Grim and her first year friends to study as well.

Except for PE.

Or more specifically the flying lessons in PE.

Lucy can handle ghosts living in her haunted run down dorm (which she is still trying to fix and make it livable), a monster from the mines, a house warden with a temper who overblotted, and a flighty headmaster that rarely tends to Lucy's basic necessary needs except for when he needs her and Grim (usually just) to do his unwanted work, like paperwork.

Yet, she can't handle a single flying broomstick.

Ugh, it would be more embarrassing if Coach Vargas wasn't basically running Lucy through the ringer until she'd be able to fly two feet off the ground without suddenly losing control and crashing into some random bush that'd appear out of no where.

It's been two weeks, and everyone is practically flying circles around Lucy, while she was still trying to keep control of the broom at a hover. Ace unable to help himself, always teases her after every lesson, while Deuce would try to reassure her and encourage Lucy to keep on trying. Saying she'd get the hang of it, only for Ace to get snarky, then the two would fall into their usual bickering/fighting, Grim joining in not too long later.

Lucy sighs as she stares at the magical broom she held in her hand.

This is ridiculous.

Apparently, Coach Vargas couldn't wait and help Lucy any longer, needing to move the lessons along and teach everyone else more advanced flying. Mostly speed, sounds like they're gonna be a lot of races in future lessons.

But right here, right now, after school, Lucy stood dressed in her PE uniform, waiting for some third year that Vargas had assigned to teach her for extra credit.

Lucy honestly felt bad for the dude. She'll never admit it out loud or to anyone else, but for some reason, the moment she mounts the broom and her feet leaves the ground, Lucy is a mess. Her body can attest to that with all the bruises it now sports thanks to her many many crash landings.

"Bonjour~! Hope I didn't keep you waiting for long!", exclaims a smooth and slightly accented voice.

Lucy turns to see another student, the third year assigned to tutor her obviously, approaching from behind. He is tall, with a noticeable (to her) strong and lithe body under his own PE uniform, which showed he is a Pomefiore student. He has pale features, sharp eagle-like forest green eyes, blonde hair that is longer than most, for it is currently pulled back in a small pony tail, and he is wearing a black a white camouflage cap on his head.

It took some more self control than usual for Lucy to stop the instinct to punch the student in the face. After living the life she had back in her world, Lucy is always aware of her surroundings, always making note of what's around her, who's around her, and any type of exits around her. So having some student seemingly appear out of nowhere without Lucy noticing and approaching her with near silent footsteps, Lucy's first and natural reaction is to hit and run.

Which usually entails punching someone in the nose, breaking said nose, and running off while said dangerous person is stunned.

Of course, here in Twisted Wonderland, on a school campus, with another fellow student, a senior in that matter, is unacceptable. Who knows what Crowely would do as punishment. Lucy wouldn't put it past him to lower her already dangerously budget.

It's a miracle Lucy manages to feed Grim the fancy tuna he really likes, not mention to feed herself as well.

"Ah, apologies for startling you Mademoiselle. My name is Rook Hunt, and I shall be assisting you in your skill to fly.", the student, Rook, sent Lucy a closed-eye smile.

Lucy couldn't help but laugh uneasily, her skin practically crawling at the way Rook's eyes glinted as he closely stared at her.

"I'm Lucy Caddel.", Lucy introduced herself politely, hiding her uneasiness with practiced ease, "I don't know what Coach Vargas told you, but I have no skill in flying. Practically lose control the minute I'm off the ground. I'd be lucky enough to hover for a couple of minutes."

"Oui, I heard. It wasn't as bleak of a description though." Rook' nodded.

Suddenly his eyes glittered and held up his own broomstick, a smirk slowly appearing on his lips. It was all Lucy could do to not outwardly showcase the dread that has quickly filled up her entire being from Rook's look alone.

She felt almost as she were about to be hunted.

Lucy has no idea how close to the truth she is.

"Then let's get started, non?"

Apparently, Rook can work miracles.

At first, Rook was pretty reasonable too. He was slow and gentle in his corrections, tips, and advice as he guided Lucy on to the broom.

Within the hour, Lucy was able to hover a couple of inches of the ground without losing control. Another hour, Lucy was able to carefully glide across the field with a nervous, but giddy laugh.

Then by the fourth hour.... well, any witnesses would only describe it as a chaotic hunt, despite their being no property damage of any kind.

For practically the moment Lucy was able to comfortably fly on her broom at a reasonable speed, Rook was right on top of her, causing the brunette to crash into her, now, familiar friend bush.

"What was that!", Lucy shouts up at Rook who remained flying above her on his broom.

Rook just smiles serenely, "Our next lesson."

Lucy can't remember ever going off on her adrenaline for as long as she did. Even when she was running from those people once upon a time. For every time Lucy even sat on her broom and began flying, Rook was already after her.

This went on for a good week or two, Lucy always returning home to Ramshackle with a sore and bruised body, along with the occasional scratch thanks to her good friend bush.

But, begrudgingly, despite intensity, the method is working.

Everyday, Lucy gets faster and faster on her broom, flying higher and higher with each new chase, her control becoming near perfection as time pass, and Lucy even began performing tricks and other reckless stunts in a desperate attempts to try and get away from Rook.

Sometimes they work if she's trying to get away, usually they don't.

No matter what. No matter what she does or how hard she tries, Lucy just can't catch Rook off guard so she can she get away from him.

It truly is a case of predator and prey. Lucy, as the prey, just seems doomed to be constantly caught. With that, the magicless student is beginning to become frustrated.

What the hell does he want with her?

Lucy just can't figure out what Rook is trying to do. She has already improved in her flying by leaps and bounds thanks to Rook, so why is this continuing?

It's out of Vargas's hands, the Physical Education teacher has made it very clear that Rook is in charge of deciding how long he and Lucy will continue their tutoring sessions together.

And as far as Lucy is aware, that's not gonna happen any time soon.

So here Lucy finds herself, alone in the school's courtyard, collapsing down on one of the courtyard's benches with a huff. Her body achy and sore, since she just finished another one of her hellish tortur- cough- sorry, tutoring sessions.

"What's got you so down in the dumps?", asked a crystal clear voice.

Lucy turns to see Vil standing behind her, hands on his hips, and perfectly plucked eyebrow raised in questioning. Amethyst eyes flickering over Lucy's bruised and rumpled form with clear distaste.

"Frustration.", Lucy groans, almost giving in to the urge to slouch, but knowing she'd get an earful from Pomefiore's Housewarden otherwise.

"Ah.", Vil nods, "Your referring to those tutoring lessons I assume."

With picture perfect grace, Vil sits down next to the exhausted Prefect. Somehow making sitting on a bench look like a queen sitting upon her throne.

If anything, Lucy can't discard the many many praises Rook practically sings in Vil's name. For many of those praises, at least those that Lucy can decipher and understand, are very much true.

But Lucy didn't think Vil would even be aware of Lucy's lessons with Rook. And her expression, no matter how minuscule, showed it. At least it showed it to Vil, others would believe it to be neutral.

"There is very little that Rook and I don't know of each other Lucy.", Vil states in answer to Lucy's silent question.

"You two are pretty close, huh?", Lucy states, not asks, with a sigh.

For a moment, the two didn't exchange another word, just sitting and basking in the silence around them.

"I won't lie.", Vil began after another beat or two, "With a lifestyle such as mine, there's not many opportunities to get close with people who are true with their intentions. Rook, was actually the first. Against all odds, and, as Rook, went above and beyond what was expected of him. We shared respect before we shared friendship and..."

Vil trailed off for a moment. But it was clear he didn't want to finish that sentence, whether it was out of unease or another reason, it wasn't any of Lucy's business.

"So then, do you have any ideas what Rook can be looking for?", Lucy asked, "At this point, I'm ahead of my class when it comes to flying, maybe even a little ahead of the second years as well concerning certain aspects. But Rook is determined to continue, and no matter how hard I try, I can't get away."

Vil tilts his head, a thoughtful expression on his face. Eyes calculating as the other Prefect seemed to be thinking through possible motives and ways for Lucy to succed.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up, a smirk forming on his lips as he chuckled.

"Of course.", Vil huffed in amusement.

"What's so funny?", Lucy asked, her bangs hiding how her eyes narrowed suspiciously, yet how her lips fell into a hard line hinted towards her true feelings.

"Just Rook. I assure you, I'm not mocking you.", Vil sincerely reassured the Ramshackle Housewarden.

Maybe not mocking, but Lucy has a feeling that Vil is definitely judging her.

"You are already aware of this, but Rook is a Huntsman. He enjoys the thrill of the chase, the rush of adrenaline in his veins.", Vil explains, "And through these lessons, you have become his quarry."

Not surprised, but this still doesn't help Lucy achieve what ever Rook expects her to achieve.

"I... still don't understand.", Lucy stated slowly.

Vil sighs, "What have you two been doing thus far in your lessons?"

"I thought you already you knew what was going on already?", Lucy looked over at Vil with a small sly smirk.

"No matter what the other students at RSA say, you really do belong at this school."Vil couldn't help the amused sigh that left his lips as he shook his head, "Just answer the question."

Now it's Lucy's turn to sigh before she answered, her's from fatigue rather than Vil's amused one, "He just chases me around usually, causing me to either fall off my broom or crash. Then we'd do it again for a couple of hours, usually for four hours actually."

Vil hummed looking thoughtful once again while he seemed to think up a way to word what he wanted to say without practically handing Lucy the answer on a silver platter.

"Lucy, Rook sees something in you, a type of strength.", Vil explains, "Now being a hunter, Rook likes to hunt those he sees as strong, or help guide those he sees with potential of such strength so he can have a worthy hunt later. Do you understand?"

Lucy thought back to her comparison of their lessons of predator and prey. But, what if it's, actually, supposed hunter and predator. What Rook is doing, is that he trying to wake a sleeping bear with a pointy stick.

She now realizes why Vil found this so amusing.

With an angry growl, Lucy jumped back to her feet and began marching away.

"And where do you think you're going?", calls out Vil.

Lucy doesn't answer, instead, she shouts over her shoulder without faltering.

"You tell Rook he can go screw himself!", she shouts angrily.

Vil watched Lucy's retreating form with a chuckle, the Ramshackle Prefect still grumbling angrily to herself while marching away and out of view.

"What do you think you're doing? Poking a sleeping bear?", Vil asks seemingly no one.

"A Bear? Non, non.", came the familiar voice of Rook, sitting up in the tree above Vil, "A lionne my roi du Poison."

"Oh?", Vil raised a brow as he looked up to his Vice-Housewarden with a knowing smirk.

"Oui. Car chaque lion a besoin de sa lionne~.", Rook explained with a florish.

Vil chuckles, "Didn't take you for a matchmaker."

"Oui~.", Rook looks down at Vil with an impacting gaze, "Beauty waits for no man, I say I have enough experience to tell when la beauté de l'amour makes it's appearance."

Vil just rolled his before standing up and walking towards the mirror that will bring them back to their Dorm.

"Come along then Rook, I have the feeling you've finally succeeded what you have set out to accomplish."

🎊 twst 4th year anni ABEMA stream 🎉

***TWST JP news + anniversary spoilers below the cut!***

The stream starts with Ace, Deuce, Jack, Ruggie, and Sebek's VAs replying to a bunch of quiz questions. I think Ace or Deuce responds with "810" when asked how many items there are on the Heartslabyul lounge's coffee table. Sebek's VA also has a hilarious answer when asked how many Draconians (wakasama fans) there are, he pulls out some super absurdly high number with tons of zeros in it.

There is then a Master Chef/Culinary Crucibles-type section where the VAs decorate their own cake for TWST's anniversary. It’s a team effort! Ace and Deuce put on the cream, Sebek added cookies on top, and Jack and Ruggie did the final decorations. It ended up looking pretty cute ^^ (Ace's VA is the one that added all the whipped cream peaks; it was mostly thanks to Ruggie's VA that the cake still looked aesthetically pleasing at the end.)

Actual game-related news time!!! The SR Grim card for the 4th anniversary is... drumroll please...!! 🥁Apprentice Chef Grim!!! ABGKSKVUkvuDSQEVUOFDFIHAFVA HE'S SO CUTE, HE EVEN HAS A LIL TUNA CAN CAKE 😭

For anniversary, there will be a series of free items given out if you log in during the event period (11th to 25th), which includes THREE 10-pull keys (released on the 11th, 15th, and 18th, respectively). You can receive up to 12 days' worth of freebies. There will be an anniversary banner as per usual; you can earn tokens by pulling on this and then trade them in for a SR magical key (50 tokens) and/or past event-limited SSRs (150 tokens), including past years' birthday cards (100 tokens). There will be a new "Event Recollection" feature which allows you to experience events that you may have missed getting the initial chance to play through yourself.

Mr. S's Mystery Shop will sell items from past events such as limited Groovy materials and spell upgrade materials. This is called the "Memory Shop".

You will be able to mark (multiple) parts of the story as your "favorite". This will be indicated with a pink heart icon.

Battles will have a new feature which allows you to save team compositions for them. Up to 25 compositions may be saved at a time. You can also pin your supports, so you no longer have to scroll to find a specific friend's character to borrow.

There will be 3 new item gachas added to the "Item Lotto" of the shop (for Crewel, Vargas, and Trein). Previously, there was only Sam's. You use a new type of medal (obtained by taking classes) to roll on the teachers' lottos, and can pull items related to what you'd typically earn in each of their classes.

Crewel's gacha may provide an herbal tea which can be used to boost Buddy Levels, including those for characters that are otherwise unable to take Alchemy classes. That means Crowley, Rollo, etc. are fair game. (Yes, you can force feed them tea to obtain FRIENDSHIP✨) The tea may also drop during Special Lessons or Alchemy class.

We finally get magical key conversion! On the summoning screen, you can turn 10 single pull keys into one 10-pull key (which guarantees at least 1 SR; single keys do not have this benefit).

The Guest Room will receive a second floor to decorate. This will be unlocked once you reach a Guest Room rank of 31.

The Guest Room rank cap will be increased from 30 to 40. Additionally, all properties of floor 1 appears to carry over to floor 2. This means the same comfort level and attributes will be present across both.

New BGMs will be added to Mr. S's Mystery Shop. There will also be new voice lines added to Alchemy, Flying, and the outfit selection screen. The official TWST soundtrack will be released on the 29th of May, though preorders are tentatively open now. It is 140+ tracks (149, to be exact!) across 4 discs and goes for 4620 yen (inclusive of tax; without tax the soundtrack is 4200 yen). Japanese retailers are offering different dorms' A5 sized holographic sticker sheets as bonuses for preordering.

Some Crowley and Lilia Parallels(?)

?? am i reaching here but doesn't "Crowley searching for a way for Yuu to go home" similar to "Lilia searching for a way for Malleus to hatch"?lol

like they both travel to far away places to search for clues to solve their younglings' problem and both Malleus/Yuu are frustrated whenever they're gone for their travels, Crowley/Lilia can't find a logical explanation why they're taking so long solving their problem too (like how Lilia foolishly trust wishes to make a dragon egg hatch bcs its just impossible to find another dragon and how Crowley seems like he's being lazy because he truly doesn't know how to transport a human back to another world) even though they're the person best suited to solve Malleus/Yuu's problem (crowley being the manager of orientation so he definitely must know(?) where the students came from and lilia being the only person Meleanor told that he'll hatch Malleus) also both of them are quite detached by how much Malleus/Yuu depends on them (by that i mean they leave them alone too much and lack communication with them even though theyre the person who took them under their wing)

They also have a habit of surprising people by falling from the sky (like Crowley's animation during special lessons and how Lilia always appears upside down to scare people)

and the difference between their serious and goofy personality is striking (like General Lilia with his mean attitude and deep voice vs Peepaw Lilia and then Prologue Crowley w his ominous vibe and again deeper than usual voice vs Weird Headmage Crowley).

Also idk if this means anything but they're also the characters with the most unique voices in-game, and im unsure about this too but i think their speech patterns both uses old english phrases yet still maintaining a modern pattern (to fit with the youths yk) and they both have "groups of bats/crows" surrounding them and serving as their only motif-- which makes me think both of them have familiars????

also both of them have "minimal magic usage"..... Crowley really doesn't casts any magic atleast in-game (but in other TWST media Crowley casts basic magic) and we know how Lilia is losing his magic because he exhausted it for hatching a dragon egg- Both of their (potential) twisted Disney characters (Bat goon and Diablo/Diaval) have a role in searching for Aurora too (I remember the Bat goon and co. was originally the ones tasked to search for Aurora but he failed so the task was passed to Diablo instead, and Diaval bcs he discovered that King Stefan had a daughter which raged Maleficent in the live action-)

I'm pertaining that if Crowley is Levan,,,, then these similarities would point out to the fact that [Lilia and Levan were always together](than Meleanor did) to the point where they kind of adapted each other's qualities, even if centuries pass-- Also TWST likes mirroring the "knights" of this game (i.e Silver and Sebek, Deuce and Ace), Lilia and Levan were Right and Left Generals (knights), so it kinda explains why they're having similar struggles and similar life pattern(?) (like babysitting an unprecedented child amidst their independent life and being hit with an important problem that is "impossible to solve")

so In conclusion?? did Meleanor cursed her generals to be eternally struggle babysitting troubled children?? XD

totally reaching here-- if Crowley is Levan and his life truly is similar to Lilia's,,, then then does that mean he cut his hair like Lilia's ???? 😳 bcs think about it,,,, all the Briar Valley characters we got has long hair (Meleanor, Baul, and Gen. Lilia) so does that mean if we do get a reveal of Crowley/Levan,,, we'll see Crowley with a longer hair as Levan- ✨🙏

If that's true,,, atleast Levan's hairstyle as Crowley wasn't a chaotic job like Lilia's,,,, LOL it kinda matches their description that Levan is more prim and proper KDHWKHD atleast as Crowley, Levan is actually attempting fashion instead of randomly matching whatever like Lilia 😭 also didn't Crowley had a tangent about his very specific food taste when asking for souvenir(GloMas Event)?? which hits the nail about Lilia's complaint about Meleanor and Levan being picky eaters lol

Prompt: The Prefect's Obsession.

Pairing: Yandere!Prefect/ Yuu and Reader/ Player (can be read as platonic or romantic)

Genre: Yandere

TW: Obsessive behaviour...? Let me know if anything else should be added ^^ (Reader and Yuu are two different individuals.)

AN: I initially had the prompt 'obsession', but reading @roseapov 's Player and Overseer thing gave me this idea; what if Yuu was more than just a puppet, and equally as obsessed with the player as the rest of the twst cast? I'm trying to explore how to write more unsettling kind of stuff, since I'm pretty good at writing regular ol' angst and fluff if I do say so myself ^^ somehow twst brings out this side of me lol. Anyways, as always, I hope you enjoy!

The Prefect was made aware of your presence in their life during the first ever battle they fought, against the blot monster in the Dwarves' Mines.

They remember the rush of energy that filled them, the authority with which they barked out orders for their friends to fight. The intensity of the battle had had little effect on them (even though a small part in the back of their brain said that they should have been freaking out) as they instructed their friends, while their own strings were pulled by another.

Till then, the Prefect had only felt someone's intent gaze, even when no one was there. At times a little rhythm would be thrumming under their skin, sometimes soft and slow, other times fast-paced and exhilarating. But the way you had possessed their body, taken over their actions to lead them and their friends to victory, was what astonished and scared them the most.

They hated it at first. After all, who would like to have no control over their actions in a life-or-death situation? But as time went by, and you led them to victory and safety so many more times, the Prefect grew fonder of you.

The many hours you spent, watching them repair Ramshackle or handle Grim and the rest of the first years endeared you to them. You were so patient, so kind-hearted to be helping this magicless human navigate the challenges of being transported to a magical world. Their desire to know you, to thank you grew day by day, minute by minute. After all, without your help they would not have gotten this far. Somewhere, the lines between genuine gratefulness and blinded devotion blurred, and the Prefect had no intention of redrawing those lines, ever again.

They could tell when you weren't with them. The lightness they felt when under your watchful (and loving, hopefully) eyes would go away sometimes, leaving them to mindlessly wander, waiting for you to come back. Of course, they wouldn't hold your occasional absences against you. They couldn't even bring themself to think something so blasphemous as to hold a grudge against you. But they also couldn't suppress the fear and anxiety that ate away at them each time you left, wondering whether you would come back, when you would come back, and how long you would stay with them the next time.

You, who they had never seen, had more of an impact and importance in their life than the boys of the seven dorms they had become fast friends with.

A conversation with Riddle after one of their lessons together revealed that the boys were also aware of a greater entity watching over them. They called you by a special name, one initially used by Idia and then adopted by everyone else.

Player.

Prefect tested the word, satisfied by the way it rolled off their tongue. Because they control us, just like a player would their game characters.

The Prefect became the subject of more attention fairly quickly after it became known that they were aware of the player and not just a oblivious puppet as Azul had theorized earlier. Considering that you used the Prefect exclusively to interact with everyone, the boys would try to spend as much time as they could in their presence, in hopes of feeling the your 'grace' and monopolizing it. It was just a feeling, one that they could all experience but none could explain. Your presence through the Prefect calmed them. Even when they thought themselves to be alright, the feeling of your presence would help soothe parts of themself they weren't aware needed soothing.

But the Prefect...They hated it.

The way they all milled around them, hungry for any indication of your presence, your validation. The way they stuck close to them, waiting to bask in the familiar warmth and calm that surrounded the Prefect when you visited them. To the Prefect, they were quickly turning from friends to insistent, irritating flies buzzing around.

Nobody deserved to be in your presence. Nobody but them. Because you chose the Prefect as your vessel, a blank slate for you to use to mercifully interfere in the lives of those who didn't deserve you.

The Prefect felt a sense of pride at the thought of being your puppet, at your mercy and for you to do what you wish with them. No greater honour could have been conferred to them and their existence than to create miracles in your name, under your guidance.

Of course, this... devotion meant that the Prefect often wondered about you. While you watched over them as they attended their lessons, the Prefect wondered if you liked to learn History; perhaps you were more into sports and fitness. Or perhaps alchemy was more your pace?

The Prefect also liked to imagine that their features somewhat mirrored yours. Perhaps your eyes were similar, or the curve of your nose, or perhaps your skin tone. After all, there must be something common between an entity and their vessel, to show that they are bound to each other, right?

As they looked down at your fallen form, however, they could not see any similarity. Not even a passing resemblance.

You were different, breathtakingly so.

Having spent the most amount of time in your presence, there was no way the Prefect could have made a mistake. The light sheen of grace that clung to your skin was enough of an indicator of your identity. The Prefect watched, mesmerized by your (e/c) eyes that held a mix of awe and curiosity, your apologies for bumping into them ignored in favour of staring at your face, searing each and every feature into their brain.

The Player.

The player was in Twisted Wonderland.

But how?

Briefly, as Yuu extended a hand to help you up, they wondered if you had been unceremoniously dumped into this twisted world of magic and monsters, the same way they had. Their blood began boiling under their skin at the thought that some being (could this mean there were beings greater than you?) would treat you so carelessly, as if you did not hold power over some of the most important figures in Twisted Wonderland.

Prefect watched you stand with their help, a soft and grateful "Thank you," slipping through your lips and setting their every nerve on fire. The timbre of your voice, the slight awe in your words and the grateful light in your eyes as you looked at them, it was all so much. Too much, and yet still not nearly enough.

And then, a small voice spoke up from deep within them. 'The Player is here. And nobody knows.'

For if they had, if they had the slightest of an inkling that their beloved deity was amongst them, the housewardens would do their best to have you for themselves. Each dorm would declare an outright war on the others if it meant having you by their side.

But if you could be persuaded to join one before the others even found out...

They gave you a big smile, reverently noting the slight blush you sported. How cute. "No need to apologize. I wasn't looking where I was going either. But.. I haven't seen you around here before. I'm Yuu, what's your name?" They asked, hoping to not scare you off by seeming over eager.

"Ah, I'm (Name)," you answered, a bashful smile on your face. They cooed over your warm smile and sparkling eyes internally. So naive, so trusting; no wonder you cared about everyone, even those that had hurt your vessel, and by extension, you.

"I'm in the process of transferring from Aravae Arcane Academy," you continued, and their smile almost slipped from their face. You were in the process of transferring into Night Raven College? That too, from an obscure academy situated Sevens knows where? How long had it been since you had decided to grace Twisted Wonderland with your actual presence? How long had they been unaware of their beloved deity being so close? How long had they been unable to serve you as they should have?

The Prefect pushed the thoughts down, deep down, where it would never see the light of day ever again. You were here. Through some miracle, you were right in front of them, where they could touch you if you permitted (for they would never lay a hand on you without your permission).

And you would stay. The Prefect would go through it all again, fight the Great Seven even, if only to ensure that you would stay close to them. Where they could bask in your glory and serve you as they are meant to. A loyal follower devoting their heart, soul and mind to their beloved deity.

Your expression changed into one of slight embarassment and awkwardness, and that is when the Prefect realized they might have been just a little too intent with their staring. Nervously chuckling, they said, "Ah, okay. That explains it, I guess."

You chuckled as well, and the Prefect felt as though fate was smiling down upon them. This, this was their reward for going through all that they had. This was what they were meant for. "Yeah... I am kinda lost though. I was supposed to meet the Headmage, but..." You trailed off, and they nodded understandingly.

"Yeah, the grounds can be real hard to navigate. But don't worry! I'll help you get to the Headmage's office. He should be there, if he's not doing any surprise class supervisions today," they chirped.

"That would be nice. Oh, but, I don't want to trouble you. I mean, you must be busy..."

"It's no problem, really! I'm always happy to help!"

"Oh, well... If its not much trouble, please lead the way."

"Sure! Oh, by the way, do you have any dorm you'd like to be in? I know the Dark Mirror sorts students into dorms, but people do change their dorms sometimes if they want to..."

TWST characters taking care of a furby (part 2)

This is part 2 to this post with Heartlabyul, Savanaclaw, and Octavinelle. I loved writing the first one so much and received encouragement from you guys to write a second so here we are!

Setup: Crowley has decided that students should have to go through a lesson to test their skills as future parents. But we know Crowley, he isn't going to spend a lot of money on fake baby dolls that scream. Instead, he decided to purchase furbys, and have the students babysit them for a week...

Kalim:

he has nothing but love for his dear furby

Kalim wants his furby to have the best time while it's with him, so he spoils it

his furby gets all the best food, a super comfortable bed, and even fancy clothing

but Kalim doesn't understand that furbys don't know how to talk at first

so when the furby goes "WAH" he doesn't understand

he thinks the furby is crying because it's sad

Kalim is now desperately searching for some way to make the furby happy again

eventually he settles on the idea that doing something fun could cheer it up

what's more fun than a carpet ride?

the furby has no hands to hold onto the carpet and Kalim needs both hands to steer...

furby fell off and did not survive the landing

Jamil:

well it's easier to take care of then Kalim

the furby actually listens

he actually appreciates his little furby

but Jamil is a busy guy so he has to carry his furby with him everywhere he goes

to classes, around Scarabia, in the kitchen, and even basketball practice

it's pretty adorable

when he's playing basketball you can see his little furby sitting on the bench watching him and making noises that sound like cheers

Jamil was doing good and threw the ball to the net

but it bounced off the backboard and went straight for the bench where poor furby was cheering

the ball hit furby straight in the face and broke him

Vil:

why do furbys have to be so...ugly

since Vil has to look after it, it has to look good

he can't be seen carrying something so ugly after all

it could affect his image

so Vil tries to make the furby look better

but he soon found out that no matter what you do, a furby cannot look beautiful

therefore, he can't be seen with it

the furby stays in his room or in his bag

Vil had the furby with him while he was working on some potions

his bag with the furby in it was on the table next to the cauldron

furby, wanting entertainment and attention, crawled out of the bag

...and fell straight in the cauldron

furby did not survive, but the potion turned out well

Rook:

Rook is a pretty good furby dad

he has loads of fun with his furby and teaches him as much as possible

his little furby has learned french and how to appreciate beauty just like Rook

furby has even started learning some of Rook's hunting skills

it's such a special relationship the two have

at the end of the week when Crowley comes to collect the furby, it's nowhere to be found

when Rook was asked about the furbys whereabouts, he simply said

"A good hunter knows how to conceal themselves during the hunt."

Epel:

he really likes his furby and is determined to take care of it

but he doesn't understand much about how to teach it things

to be fair, he was the youngest where he grew up and never had to look after little kids

so after hours of trying to teach it words, he gets a little frustrated and starts yelling in his accent

the furby really doesn't understand now

this only adds more to Epel's frustration

he starts cursing at the furby with his accent

and furby starts crying sensing anger

not wanting to make things worse, Epel takes a break and leaves the room

when he comes back, the furby was gone

Furby just couldn't take it, and ran away

Idia:

he thinks it's going to be easy peasy

furbys are old tech and pretty simple to take care of

he could easily give furby an upgrade

and he does

after some tinkering, furby has learned many things and his AI has been upgraded

it can now learn faster, connect to internet, play advanced games

it's basically a walking computer

at the end of the week, furby refuses to go back with Crowley

furby threatened to hack into all the tech in the school and release all the information of Crowley's wrongdoings as headmage

even after Crowley let the furby stay, it continued to hack into the schools system to look at sensitive information and use it against him

in the end, the furby had to be destroyed

Ortho:

just two robots being friends

dear Ortho has studied how to properly care for a furby, and plans to do his best

he takes his furby everywhere with him and tried to involve it in just about everything he did

he even showed the little guy video games

both of them were really happy

the furby started to pick up and learn all sorts of things around him

it even started to understand the bond between Ortho and Idia

and it wanted to be a part of that

the furby started to get Ortho's attention by yelling "Brother!"

but the Shroud family had one special trait about them that furby didn't have; the flaming hair

so furby decided to try and get that hair...by setting itself on fire

Ortho was devastated when he found the burned mechanical remains of Furby Shroud

Malleus:

we all know Malleus isn't good with technology

but furby is supposed to behave and be cared for like a child

Malleus hasn't had much experience with children either (most run away from him) but furby was different

furby wasn't scared of him and even appreciated spending time with Malleus

so of course Malleus grew to love furby

he started to care for it much like he would for his roaring drago

furby was even taken on walks and learned about gargoyles

Malleus truly loved the little furby

nothing can hurt it while the great Malleus Draconia was protecting it

at the end of the week Crowley came to collect the furby, but Malleus had refused to give it up

he'd gotten to attached to it and treasured it

Crowley wasn't going to try and force the future king to give it up

Lilia:

he's raised Silver and Malleus, a furby is no problem for him

he's the only one with parenting experience

it's much easier to take care of than they were

he provides it with food three times a day like any normal child

thankfully, the furby doesn't need real food and doesn't have to suffer from Lilia's cooking

the furby has everything it needs

and Lilia is thrilled to have another child to raise, even if it's only for a little bit

he takes it everywhere with him

nothing can hurt the little furby with papa Lilia around

at the end of the week, he sadly hands it back to Crowley

his furby survived

Silver:

raising a furby is like raising a child right?

he totally asks Lilia for help on how to take care of his

and Silver takes pretty good care of it thanks to Lilia's guidance

the furby has the most comfortable bed like Silver has so many blankets and pillows that the furby will be swimming in them

Silver sometimes falls asleep while feeding it, but there aren't many problems with his care apart from that

in order to properly care for his furby, he brings it with him throughout the day

this includes to his classes and the Equestrian club

Riddle and Sebek don't mind much that the furby is there, as long as it doesn't interfere with club activities

the horses however, are a bit unsure of the furby

because of this, Silver did not attempt to ride take the furby on the horse with him

instead, it sat on the ground near the stables

the furby watched on in joy as Silver tended to his horse

and then it laughed and it's ears moved

the movement and sound must've freaked the horse out, because it started freaking out and even kicked it's feet a litte

yeah, it hit furby and messed it up pretty good

Sebek:

he's really going to try

and he struggles with his

aside from feeding it and providing it with a place to sleep, he doesn't know what to do with it

also asks Lilia for help

Lilia tells him that he has to raise it and try to teach it things, keep it entertained, etc.

so Sebek starts trying to teach it the important words

like Malleus' name

next thing you know there's a furby chanting "Malleus! Malleus! Malleus!"

and the furby learns to praise Malleus just like Sebek

once Malleus shows some annoyance at two Sebeks, Sebek decides it has to stop

but the furby keeps going

so Sebek challenges the furby to a deal to see who shall remain by Malleus' side

obviously Sebek won and the furby didn't know what surrendering meant

furby was murdered by the person who was supposed to take care of it

I'm going to take care of my furby that's for sure

but

I'm going to teach it to say the creepiest things around people

once furby has learned the creepy lines, I'm going to ask someone to hold onto it for me and walk away for a few minutes

after I come back, they might try to tell me what creepy thing furby said

and I'm just not going to believe them :)

once Crowley takes the furby back then he has to deal with the creepy sayings

but also I never seem to have spare batteries around so once the furby dies, it's staying dead

Vil, Meleanor, and the Virgin Mary: Crowley’s Obsession

I haven’t seen anyone talk about this, but it’s driving me insane: Vil and Meleanor’s design parallel each other SO MUCH that it’s not even funny. In fact, I think Vil is foreshadowing EVERYTHING about Meleanor’s fate and Crowley’s plans.

I know I’m just coping lol, but I think I finally figured out why Crowley is so obsessed with the Fairest Queen and Pomefiore if he was Levan. Here me out: Vil is the representation of Meleanor.

Vil’s Overblot form is what immediately caught my attention. The way his cape connects to his hands, the night sky on his cape, the corset and the gems. The way the edges of his dress looks like old, torn paper, like history long since forgotten. Not to mention how he has claws like Crowley and is wearing Crowley’s same exact shade of blue. Just…this entire silhouette with the sleeves and crown matches Meleanor more than Malleus’s Overblot does. Strange how both Vil and Meleanor are associated with stars, when Crowley has a lot of star designs on the curtains in his office.

In his dorm uniform, look how the gloves and the lace has a similar design as Meleanor’s. Not to mention how in this vignette, Vil is like a “Queen reborn” with “two knights” at his side. Hm?? Like Meleanor with Lilia and Baul, perhaps?

Something I’ve always found strange is how much Crowley dotes on Vil. In both his history and flight lessons, Vil comments a lot on Crowley when a Special Lesson is triggered. Doesn’t it feel…almost uncomfortable??? Vil feeling “eyes” on him specifically when Crowley is there. And there isn’t clarification if Vil is speaking to Yuu or Crowley, but when he says “I’m just fine,” it makes me wonder if Crowley was asking Vil how he was doing.

This isn’t just limited to the lessons. Although Crowley played a less significant role in Book 5 than I thought he would, doesn’t he sound very affectionate when he says this?? “What I’ve always taken you for”…he holds great pride in Vil and how represents the history and beauty of Pomefiore. Crowley has NEVER shown this much of a bias towards any student before. Only Vil.

I can hear some of you asking: Why in the world would Crowley/Levan care so much about Vil if MALLEUS and DIASOMNIA exists? Here’s the thing: Vil simply represents more of who Meleanor was as an evil, proud princess.

He is proud, he is beautiful, he truly understands the power of his beauty, how to make people submit to him with harsh truths. He has a certain charm and pride in his accomplishments that Malleus doesn’t.

But what REALLY got me was the religious symbolism in Vil’s Overblot form. @pianostarinwonderland made a really amazing post on the resemblances Vil has to the Virgin Mary and the Lady of Sorrows.

The Lady of Sorrows is another “form” of the Virgin Mary- which ironically enough, is depicted with SEVEN swords piercing her HEART. Sometimes she is depicted with only one sword- more on that later. The Virgin Mary is considered to be the holiest of saints- a figure of worship. She is also considered to be the “god-bearer.” Her death is referred to as the Dormition of the Mother of God, Aka the “falling asleep of the god-bearer.”

And back to the swords in her heart, the seven swords represent the Seven Sorrows, but the singular sword represents the Prophecy of Simeon.

The prophecy of Simeon said something like Mary’s child would be the RISE and FALL of many in Israel, and that a sword would pierce through Mary’s heart too, as an allusion to the crucifixion. Because Mary would suffer alongside her son, the one curse of motherhood. Stars are also significant in Christian mythology, like the star of Bethlehem to guide the wise men to the birthplace of Mary’s child. Another significant “star” is the Morning Star, Aka Lucifer. The Morning Star title is based off Venus, whose Greek name means “the light bringer” or “the DAWN bringer.”

If all of these things I’m saying reminds you about the imagery in TWST, I feel like this is purposeful! Lets back up and go over each of these points and how it relates to TWST (I am not religious, so if any of this is inaccurate, please let me know!)

Crowley in the opening seems to worship his “benefactor,” and I’ve been theorizing that it’s Meleanor whose trapped in the Dark Mirror. She is quite literally a figure of worship to him- the holiest of saints. And with Meleanor being the mother of Malleus, who is one of the most powerful mages in the world, doesn’t it sound similar to be a “god-bearer?”

The swords through her heart not only sounds like a connection to Meleanor’s death, but to Maleficent’s too. The sword of truth piercing her heart- but not only that, Vil’s Overblot crown LITERALLY has the design of a singular sword piercing through a heart. Yes, its a representation of the Evil Queen demanding Snow Whites heart, but why is Vil’s design combined with the Virgin Mary of all figures??

I bolded “prophecy” because I think Levan is heavily connected to prophetic powers, but doesn’t this prophecy sound A LOT like Meleanor’s blessing on Malleus? Malleus would be the benevolent star to the Fae, and an evil star to humankind. Like the Star of Bethlehem for the Fae, and the Morning Star for humans…and the Morning Star is heavily connected to the DAWN. Dawn Knight? Silver???

It doesn’t help that Dragon Fae seem to be ostracized by humans for their horns. Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty though, refers to her powers as “powers of Hell,” heavily leaning toward his demon like design.

Meleanor suffered to protect Malleus. She gave him up and fought an entire army to better his chances of survival because she loved him so much. And if Meleanor is trapped in the mirror and will be brought back to “life,” all of this suffering stemmed from the fact she sacrificed herself for Malleus.

SNDJDHSJSJDJD STOP IT TWST WHY DOES THIS ALL FIT TOGETHER SO WELL????? YANAAAAA HELP

But do you see what I mean on how I think Vil is slyly foreshadowing EVERYTHING? Not only that, but look at his Overblot design again. At his waist, there are sharp crystal-looking objects surrounding him. I think these represent broken mirror shards. This, combined with all the coffin imagery at NRC, Epel’s Unique Magic, and Malleus’s making everyone fall asleep like Aurora or Snow White…

Perhaps Meleanor really is trapped in the mirror, put in a death-like sleep…but one day she will be freed, like Aurora or Snow White with the power of true loves kiss. Until then, Vil is the closest representation of her to Crowley. Someone who understands the power of beauty to make others submit, someone to worship.

An author I read recently expressed interest in reading what others would write about her Self-Aware TWST AU. This is a fan piece I've written for that AU. Check out more of their Masterlist here!

AU summary: When downloading TWST, an error occurs resulting in the game using data from your phone to fill in blanks in the TWST program. As a result, all the Self-Aware TWST cast view you as the mythical Overseer of legend and develop a yandere level obsession with you.

I was in the middle of painting the roses but…I guess I can’t turn you away if you need something. You frowned slightly at the line. When your friend told you about Twisted Wonderland, you had dismissed it as another phone game in the sea of phone games. Your friend was so persistent though, that you eventually let them talk you into it. When you agreed to download the game, your friend had nearly vibrated with joy and immediately gone into advisor mode; telling you tips and handing out suggestions for when you started the game. “You know, everyone has a Riddle or Leona card to borrow. If you think about it, Trey is the smart choice for those defense tests.” So, when the time came for your free SSR roll, you had taken their advice and re-rolled for Trey.

You know it’s only a game but occasionally you feel like you’ve made the wrong choice. Sometimes when you logged into the game, you enjoyed seeing Trey all dressed up in the bright Heartslabuyl uniform. Only, then he’d say his voice line and it had a way of rubbing you the wrong way. He was just so…pushy. Tea Parties and croquet matches are both special, traditional events in Heartslabyul. As the vice dorm leader, I have to work hard for them. So, give me some praise, ok? You scoff and say lightly, “Great job Trey. Those roses sure are extra red today.” Maybe it is your imagination, but it feels like he smiles even brighter when you say that.

Then there are times where the mood feels terribly awkward. You’d only agreed to try this game because your friend insisted that it wasn’t a dating game but when Trey offers you certain greetings…it makes you so uncomfortable. I like hats, so I have several of them. This one is a special one I had custom made to match our dorm uniform. I’d be happy to have one made for you so we can match. You offer what feels like a forced chuckle to the screen, “Maybe next time.” It felt an awful lot like turning down a classmate you had no romantic interest in but still had to see at school.

You mentioned it to your friend and they laugh. “You must be talking about Malleus. Everyone says his lines feel borderline romantic.” When you clarified that you meant Trey, they gave you a weird look. “I don’t remember anything like that…” You opened the game and tried to show your friend but the lines you could trigger seemed far more mundane than what you’d been experiencing. You clicked back and forth from lessons to home several times to try to trigger one of the strange dialogs but to no avail. It was just eerie.

The next day, you decided to keep a notepad and pen by your bed, so you could write down some of the crazy things you hear from Trey when you log in. And, come morning, he does not disappoint. There's nothing better than wearing clothes you are comfortable in. Except maybe having friends that make you comfortable. If your friends are making you uncomfortable, you can always come to me instead. This one was new, even to you. You gave your device a raised eyebrow and jot down the line. Then you drag your phone with you to the bathroom (lessons can run while you do your morning routine!) and start brushing your teeth. You almost spit out your toothpaste on the floor when your random gacha draw pulled a Dorm Leona card. You thank the gacha gods; now you can swap out your home screen character without feeling disloyal to your SSR’s.

You talked with your friend at school and they seemed extra freaked out for you but, honestly, you feel much better. You’d just push your strange Trey card to the back of your roster and never think about his creepy voice lines again. Leona was a fresh breeze of air pushing the past few weeks of troubles from your mind. You logged in far more than usual today, just to hear his new lines. Before bed, you pressed your lips to your screen, wishing your new favorite a good night. Things were so much better with your new man in your life and Trey was just like a bad memory.

The morning was not what you expected. You opened the game to find Trey back on your home screen. You looked at it in alarm as he greets you with a stern look. You are coming to our next Unbirthday Party. I’ll be waiting to hear what you think of my preparations for you. It feels almost sinister. You move to stand from your bed but find yourself unexplainably weak. You tumble to the floor, your head resting near your phone. The last thing you see is the ever-widening smile of Trey. “I’ll see you soon, dearest Overseer.”

Little comparison

That scratch on that student's face that is getting stitches at the doctors? That is a random someone who tried to get just lightly pat him on the back

That person hugging Leona whilst he has to hold back from straight up holding on to them? That is the Overseer with our local not so tame house cat

Ruggie thought he was dreaming the first time he saw that happening (although he is still doing a double take after that every time)

However, at the same time it is you so is this a surprise

But let us make sense of this and not let it stand as some lonely points that crave physical affection themselves

Leona is not used to any kind of touch that is meant to show some sort of affection (minus his brothers family and he is still acting as if he got thrown into cold water)

I mean, come on. What did you expect? The servants smiling and hugging him after saying all of that?

So when you finally started to go all in (in other words wrestle jump onto him in hug version) he was this, and I really mean this close to throwing you off and making sure that you and he adore the same scar

And then, oh Overseer, it is you

The one person he imagined himself to be with since he was a child, seeing you as the only one who would accept him no matter what

This also tells us another thing: he would shred the individuals whom you also show affection towards like that

And also, once or twice, he might have returned the hug with his grip getting tighter, and tighter, and tighter, and...you ended up having a few deep scratches on your shoulder blades

Ruggie was also tempted more than just once to put up a sign saying “DO NOT ENTER!!! DON’T! DON’T ASK WHY!!! JUST DON'T!!!!!” whenever you two are in a room together. (There were a few incidents...)

That special paint the Queen of hearts loved so much is hard to get off of clothing you know?

But it is not Leona's fault for his shirt to get dirty! They just didn't know their place and who is he to deny them lessons which will teach them a lot. Perhaps he should teach them some courtesy...

at the end of each stream, he asks the viewers is there any questions, his face gets super close to the camera to see the chat better

he actually never planned to have special guests on his streams like ever but they crash his streams quite.. often

trey and chenya acts like his students and interrupts his lesson every 10 minutes asking questions

the viewers can see riddle getting redder each question

it felt like it was just an illusion

once (name) fell asleep during a stream and a very, VERY questionable donation came and riddle saw it

"xxx donated 10$!: haha how big are you"

riddle started scolding the viewer and it got heated

riddle gets louder each sentence he says, the viewer responds quicker each time

eventually (name) woke up from a half-yelling riddle and realizes what was going on

they had to block the viewer, call riddle during the livestream and attempt to calm him down

ppl forgot what happened immediately and the chat is full of "omg mod voice reveal!!??1!2!???!!!!"

riddle calmed down after a minute, he then apologized to his viewers

off stream, (name) called him again and apologized for falling asleep and not blocking them immediately, they of course got an earful from riddle but he forgave them anyways

"it's alright, just dont let it happen next time. how about we go to trey's to get some pastries? take it as an apology from me."

i think we can all agree he does cooking/baking streams LMAO

he def bakes/cooks while chatting with the viewers

he has a hand cam + face cam

he explains what he's doing at the moment, because he knows some people bake/cook with him

^he also provides the recipe a day before the stream starts

sometimes he invites cater, chenya or riddle on his channel as guests

he rarely interacts with the chat if they ever collab since, he fears that the three will burn his kitchen down 💀

they probably had a bag of flour explode on them before

trey asked riddle to open the flour (big ass mistake i say.. 😥)

the bag was weirdly tight, riddle couldn't open it with his weak arms

he got frustrated, then he pulled it with all his might-
