I'm not a whole person
I never will be
Parts of me died in the place I called home
Not a home, but a tomb
For the person I could have been
Instead of this loveless husk I've become
Angry at those who failed me
I've learned to embrace my anger
It's shown me so much
That my mistreatment is unacceptable
I deserve compassion, kindess, and love
But when you're not fed love as a child
Later you will lick it from knives

Please continue to make your art, despite whatever is making you want to quit. It is worth it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen poems or paintings or heard music when I was at my lowest and it stirred the courage and hope I had in me, I am who I am today because of that, thank you. 🤍

Pay attention to how they treat and talk about other people.
You're not an exception.
They will probably treat you the same way in times of crisis.

"Mental pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and also more hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden: it is easier to say "My tooth is aching" than to say "My heart is broken."
– C.S. Lewis

do you ever feel something but cannot describe? and then one random day you finally find the right words to frame it either through a book, or a movie, a show or a person, just by yourself even, anything at all.
what an absolute liberating feeling that is like yes that's exactly how I felt and I wish I had found these set of words earlier, I could've been at peace within my heart.
