still working on everyone's voicelines and chats! hayden is next, hehe 👀👀 i'm also thinking of making seth's voicelines and chats, even though he's my mc.. i just think it would be cute and idk what content i can make for him rn 😭😭 and about minnie's role in twst: i think she would be like seth's sidekick in a way (she would never call herself that though)? look at my boy, he's got a cat AND a cute mouse girl as sidekicks >:D and it sure is fun to imagine him as mc/player character when i'm writing voicelines

[ minnie's voicelines ]

"seriously, how can you be so irresponsible? hurry up, i don't want to know what that guy in a raven mask will do to us if we're late."

level up:

"i don't have any magic powers, but at least i have my brains and that already makes me better than some nrc students."

"i didn't expect you to know so much about this topic. now that's embarrassing, i'm supposed to be the smarter one here."

"we're finally done here- wait, where did grim go? ugh, just how can you be so patient with someone like him?"

level up max:

"i actually think that we already are as good as other nrc students, even if we're "magicless humans". if we weren't that good, they wouldn't ask us for help all the time."

"i can't believe i'm saying this, but.. you're a surprisingly reliable person. maybe crowley was right and him making you a prefect wasn't a bad idea- DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT!"

"but that's not the point! i just think you should stop letting them say all that stuff about you. sure, you're an idiot, but you shouldn't allow them call you one."

"am i the only one who's allowed to call you that?.. hm, maybe."

"i was interested in dolls since i was a child and i got one for every holiday: my birthday, halloween, christmas.."

"well, it was like this until that man left us."

"my dolls remind me of a better time in my life, you know? before everything went to hell and all.."

"huh? why do my dolls like this? what do you mean?"

".. are you saying they're ugly?"

"because if you are, i will make my daughters kill you in your sleep."

"oh, you just wanted to say they look unique? i see.."

"you thought i'm gonna believe you? you're just another guy who thinks my dolls are scary!"

"and you know what? i'm glad to hear it! i asked my parents to buy me creepy dolls on purpose, so that they could protect me from monsters under my bed."

"and now they protect me from stupid guys like you and other nrc students."

*sigh* "now what? what do you need from me this time?"

".. you want to know why i hate male students so much?"

"w-why, it's because all of them are idiots, of course!"

"look around. all of them are either lazy, dumb, rude or just insane. and it's not just nrc students, rsa is full of weirdos too and you know it!"

"you remember that guy who's obsessed with knives, right?"

"yeah, and he looked so innocent too.. that's why i can't trust them!"

"they're just gonna hurt me again.."

"why i don't mind your company though? wait, who said i don't mind it?? you're, like, one of the biggest idiots in this school!"

"it's just.. i'm pretty much forced to deal with you, so there's no point in complaning. we share the same dorm, i have no other choice!"

"it would be nice to live in a different dorm, like heartslabyul or pomefiore, but mr. raven mask won't allow it."

"well, i can somewhat tolerate heartslabyul and pomefiore students! if we're not counting the weird ones."

".. i just realized that these dorms have a lot of weird members."

"anyway, the reason why i can't be friends with guys is none of your business. just don't annoy me, okay? and then, maybe, i will tell you the truth."

*thinking* "i just don't want him to think of me as a dumb girl with daddy issues.."

[ a crocodile and a mouse ]

sebek: "minnie! we have to discuss the way you've been treating the young master!"

minnie: *thinking* "here we go again.."

minnie: "oh, i'm sorry for not kissing his feet whenever he enters the room. i promise i'm gonna do that next time."

minnie: "you thought i'll say that? i couldn't care less about that guy."

minnie: "maybe he's the greatest magician in twisted wonderland, but he means literally nothing to me, someone from a different world."

sebek: "HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT HIM LIKE THAT?"

minnie: "BECAUSE I CAN! AS I SAID, HIS OPINION IS NOTHING TO ME!"

minnie: "i don't care about your opinion too, by the way."

sebek: "i should've expected something like this from you.. you're just a human, you would never understand just how great young master is."

sebek: "now, if only you could listen to me-"

minnie: "and i don't really want to."

sebek: ".. eh?"

minnie: "i don't want to understand his greatness or anything like that. i'm not interested."

sebek: "b-but-"

sebek: "you can't just ignore young master's existence like this!"

minnie: "oh well, i'm trying my best."

minnie: "now, if you'll excuse me."

sebek: *thinking* ".. does she really find young master that boring?"

sebek: *thinking* "she truly has no respect for him.."

[ since when we were best friends? ]

ace: "hey, minnie! how are you doing on this fine evening?"

minnie: "what do you want from me, ace?"

ace: "come on, we're literally bffs! why are you always assuming i need something from you?"

minnie: "ace, you're making fun of me every time you get the opportunity. should i remind you about our first meeting?"

minnie: "no, actually, should i remind you about every single time we talked to each other?"

ace: "well, i'm sorry, your reactions are just too entertaining!"

ace: *trying not to laugh* "especially when your face becomes all red, you look just like the dorm leader-"

minnie: "ACE!"

ace: "okay, okay, i'll stop. so, uh.."

ace: ".. can i copy your magical history homework?"

minnie: "wait a minute, you're asking me for help? "a human who can't use magic and doesn't know anything about it"?"

minnie: "wow, is your situation that bad?"

ace: "stop it! you're the only person i can rely on right now!"

ace: "do you really think other students who are at least somewhat smart would help me?"

ace: "sure, i could ask trey-senpai, but he also has his limits. i should stop relying on him all the time."

minnie: "and why are you so sure that i would be okay with helping you?"

ace: "because we're best friends?.."

minnie: "since when?"

ace: "i'll do anything, minnie, just help me out this one time, okay??"

minnie: ".. okay."

minnie: "but first, you have to get down on your knees and apologize for everything you said to me in the past!"

ace: "haha, that's a good one! now, about the homework-"

minnie: "come on, hurry up. i can't hear you apologizing."

ace: "wait, you're actually serious about this??"

[ out of all the students, you're the one to respect me? ]

minnie: *thinking* "ugh, i don't want to deal with this lion guy right now."

minnie: *thinking* "just leave and hope that he doesn't notice you.."

leona: "hm? ah, it's you, little mouse."

minnie: "what did you just call me?"

leona: "you didn't hear anything. so, what did you want?"

leona: "make it quick, i want to go back to sleep as soon as i can."

minnie: ".. i can't reach that shelf."

minnie: "and i need that one book about magic analytics."

leona: "you're trying to understand magic even though you can't use it?"

minnie: "shut up and get the book for me."

minnie: *thinking* "he's definitely not gonna get it. he's too lazy for that, he's gonna come up with some kind of excuse or he'll just ignore me-"

leona: "okay. i'll do it, if you promise to leave me alone right after that."

minnie: "HUH??"

leona: "why are you so surprised? i'm doing you a favor and i'm asking for one in return, what's so weird about it?"

minnie: "n-no, it's just.. fine. i didn't want to sit in the same room as you anyway."

leona: "you're blushing, by the way."

minnie: "GET THAT BOOK FOR ME ALREADY!"

minnie: *thinking* "and here i thought that he wasn't actually that bad.."

[ maybe if you were a bit nicer.. ]

minnie: "um.."

avery: ".. hey, you need something? you've been staring at me for a while."

minnie: "what, you have a problem with that?"

avery: "wh- of course i do! would you like it if i looked at you like this for several minutes??"

minnie: "no, i would literally kill you if you did that."

avery: "see? now, did you need something from me?"

minnie: ".. flowers."

avery: "can you speak louder? i can't hear you-"

minnie: "I SAID I NEED YOUR HELP WITH FLOWERS!"

avery: "I JUST ASKED YOU TO SPEAK LOUDER, YOU DON'T HAVE TO SHOUT AT ME!"

minnie: "so, i tried to get into gardening because i thought it would be fun and.."

minnie: *thinking* "i thought it would be cool if i ended up being better at it than you."

avery: "and? you need my advice or something?"

minnie: "..."

avery: "you know i can't help you if you don't say what happened, right?"

minnie: ".. my plant died the next day."

avery: "..."

avery: "how? no, actually, what did you do to make it die so quickly??"

minnie: "I DON'T KNOW, THAT'S WHY I'M ASKING YOU FOR HELP!"

minnie: "BUT YOU'RE JUST LOOKING AT ME LIKE I'M STUPID-"

avery: "WELL, I CAN'T EXACTLY CALL YOU A GENIUS FOR KILLING YOUR PLANT SO EASILY!"

avery: *trying to calm himself down* "fine. just show me the plant, maybe i can figure out what went wrong."

minnie: "really? thank you- ahem, well, i'm glad you decided to make yourself useful for once."

avery: "FOR ONCE??"

minnie: *laughs* "okay, okay, you're actually a bit more useful than those other guys."

minnie: "honestly, if it wasn't for your personality, i wouldn't mind hanging out with you"

avery: ".. same goes for you."

minnie: "what did you say?"

avery: "nothing, just show me the plant already."

Infection Au

The results said the audience wants to hear my Infection Au so I shall deliver. (TW for blood, mentions of gore and su1cid3). I based this on the MLP Swamp Fever Au and the general Infection aus <3 Also this au includes a lot of ocs that belong to me and my friends

So the main plot is that a strange fungi was discovered on Sage Island that soon began to make people ill. At first everyone thought that it's just a regular magic fungi, however it quickly turned out to be an incorrect assumption. Those infected with the spores began to develop odd symptoms such as nosebleed, gums bleeding, bloodshot eyes, discoloration of fingers and soon the limbs as it spreads. By the ending stages of the infection, the patient will resemble more like a bleeding and decaying tree. The infection spreads through either bites or the spores of the fungi. Coming in contact with the infected without any safety gloves also results in infection. Those with high magic drive are able to remain sane for longer periods of time than those with lower or no magic drive at all.

It has been 4 weeks since the outbreak started. Idia and Ortho were able to leave Sage Island before STYX put the island on lockdown, sealing the dorm mirrors and the Dark Mirror so nobody can pass through. They're working on a cure. Meanwhile the ones stuck on Sage Island have started to adapt to the current situations, learning through several losses. Trein was one of the first victims of the outbreak, having been killed by the infected while trying to protect his students. Riddle, Vee, Marqu, Ellis, Mary, Fox and Jade have been terminated after they could no longer fight the infection and grew way too hostile. Cater, Dominico and Ace are injured from expeditions and attacks but uninfected. Azul and Leona are still under infection, Azul due to no access to any more human potions has returned to his merform and is now kept in a water tank until further notice. Leona is incredibly hostile and staff decided on termination. Trey, Lilia, Adamaris and Crowley are missing with no trace of where they could be. Malleus is infected but manages to maintain his sanity. Ruggie, Jack, Sebek, Alce, Thea, Allen, Deuce, Augustino, Chenfeng and Vargas are the ones on the expedition team who regularly leave campus (what has been turned into a main camp) to gather supplies, look for survivors, kill the wandering infected and clear areas. There are snipers (Thea and Allen), gatherers (Ruggie, Deuce, Augustino) and those who cover the team incase the infected are nearby (Sebek, Alce, Chenfeng). Jack and Vargas do most of the heavy lifting and Jack pulls the occasional carts with his UM. The ones in charge of terminating those who lose the battle with the infection inside NRC are Spider, Alce and Vargas. Vil is also infected but holds on, Rook wrote himself out of the expedition groups to stay with Vil while Epel along with Silver and Kalim are not allowed to join the expedition groups for their own reasons. Jamil stays with Kalim and Spider in NRC, Alto is in charge of the supplies that the expedition groups successfully gathered, Silver is distraught and anxious because of Lilia's absence which is why Sylas stay with him at all times. Floyd is his own person ever since Jade was put down and staff can't determine how much impact his brother's death had on him. He leaves a lot but never comes back infected. Ami and Crewel are the ones staying in NRC at all times to take care of the few children that were caught in the outbreak such as Karina and Eve. Sam is infected but resides in his shop while holding out.

As the story progresses, multiple of the canons and ocs fall. Cater dies to an infected wound, Leona is terminated, Thea asks to be put down by Sebek, Deuce is terminated by Alce due to the infection, Jamil is killed by the infected, Azul ends his own life by leaving the water tank in his merform, Alto is put down by Idia after infected severely, Vil is put down but he ends up killing Rook and Epel, Lilia is found dead, Spider is killed by the infected, Alce is killed by Allen who was infected, Allen ends his own life after realizing what he had done. Crowley is never found.

The last survivors end up being:

Ace, Trey (he is found), Ruggie, Jack, Floyd, Kalim, Idia, Ortho, Malleus, Silver, Sebek, Crewel, Sam, Vargas, Ami, Karina, Eve, Sylas and a couple more ocs.

It's a lot of angst and I know it's a bit jumbled right now but I'm in the making of the character files and I will post them one by one. If you have questions, you can ask away ^^

💜 She's the daughter of a human mother and demonic father

💜 She's an empath and able/can sense both pain and disease and can remove them, assimilating them to her own body and expunge them but at a cost of great physical pain. She can also read the emotions of others and control them, also granting her telepathic-like insight into their minds.

💜 Her weakness is strong emotions. She has the ability to feel other people's emotions. But if she comes into contact with an individual with strong emotions whether good or bad, it will overwhelm her and bring her pain.

💜 Her main power is the ability to channel her Soul Self, projecting her spirit outside of her body to scout, fight, or manipulate objects.

💜 She is quiet, troubled, brooding, grim, moody, seemingly emotionless, intelligent, studious and sarcastic. She can always come up with a smart remark.

Riddle Rosehearts

He is very intrigued since you were a demon-human hybrid. However, you used your powers for good rather than how your father originally intended, and that’s something that he looks up to. You don’t let your parentage define you, and he takes a page from your book in that aspect.

Honestly, Riddle overwhelmed you a lot because he was always angry and in pain because of his past and how he is scared to disappoint his mother. When you told him, he realized that if he wanted to be with you then he needed to change his ways. So guess who started going to therapy!!!

Riddle doesn’t like your sarcasm, but you were very down-to-earth, which he appreciated. You both were quite the pair, only told of in old romantic but tragic novels. This most definitely showed in how you both liked to write letters to each other; a rather formal way of communication, reserved for the two of you.

When he overblotted, you were torn. However, you used your soul-self to battle him. He didn’t even see the raven before being easily taken down by it. The last thing he remembers before being taken to the infirmary was you rushing over and holding his body close. Even when he attacked you, your love for him was still there.

Leona Kingscholar

He was wary of you because you were a very powerful demon, but you often used it for the good of others rather than just yourself. He respects the fact that you are trying your hardest to not be like your dad, since he tries not to suck up to his older brother’s expectations as well.

Unfortunately, his anger became an overwhelming source of emotion and energy for you, and you had to write a short note saying so when you saw that he was getting increasingly upset at you avoiding him. Once he was informed of this, he started taking measures to relieve his anger, like exercising more.

He loved how feisty you could sometimes be, especially when you were sarcastic. You both could go back and forth for hours because you both didn’t like losing battles. Instead of calling you ‘herbivore’, he probably called you ‘Poe’ after Edgar Allen Poe.

When he overblotted, you took quick action and used your Soul-Self powers. You used your actual body as a diversion so that you had the element of surprise, and it worked. As he saw the raven go back inside your body, he couldn’t help but feel proud of you for making such a quick decision without hesitation.

Azul Ashengrotto

He was intimidated by you. You were a powerful half-demon who couldn’t be kept under a contract because that’s not how this works. It’s like how he can’t steal the ears of a beastman because it was biologically instilled within them.

Azul doesn’t tend to show too many emotions, but you can sense his fear and insecurities and it makes you a bit anxious. You tell him this, and he just feels exposed. However, he has been taking active steps to getting to a place where he can look in the mirror and feel good about himself.

This cecaelia is the type to like your sarcasm when it’s directed towards someone who is doing something stupid (Ace). When it’s directed towards him, he is low-key kind of offended. Like, weren’t you supposed to be on his side?? You didn’t have to call him out on his shady business deals…

Anyways, when he overblotted, your speed wasn’t affected by being underwater. Someone might have thought you were descended from a sea animal because you actually moved faster. You used your Soul-Self and managed to defeat him while causing a distraction with your actual body (think scarecrow in a field). Last thing he saw was you running over and making sure he didn’t hit his head as he fell.

Victoria Spivey

Victoria Regina Spivey (October 15, 1906 – October 3, 1976), sometimes known as Queen Victoria, was an American blues singer, songwriter, and record company founder. During a recording career that spanned 40 years, from 1926 to the mid-1960s, she worked with Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Clarence Williams, Luis Russell, Lonnie Johnson, and Bob Dylan. She also performed in vaudeville and clubs, sometimes with her sister Addie "Sweet Peas" (or "Sweet Pease") Spivey (August 22, 1910 – 1943). also known as the Za Zu Girl. Among her compositions are "Black Snake Blues" (1926), "Dope Head Blues" (1927), and "Organ Grinder Blues" (1928). In 1961, she co-founded Spivey Records with one of her husbands, Len Kunstadt.

Born in Houston, Texas, she was the daughter of Grant and Addie (Smith) Spivey. Her father was a part-time musician and a flagman for the railroad; her mother was a nurse. She had three sisters, all three of whom also sang professionally: Leona, Elton "Za Zu", and Addie "Sweet Peas" (or "Sweet Pease") Spivey (August 22, 1910 – 1943), who recorded for several major record labels between 1929 and 1937, and Elton Island Spivey Harris (1900–1971). She married four times; her husbands included Ruben Floyd, Billy Adams, and Len Kunstadt, with whom she co-founded Spivey Records in 1961.

Spivey's first professional experience was in a family string band led by her father in Houston. After he died, the seven-year-old Victoria played on her own at local parties. In 1918, she was hired to accompany films at the Lincoln Theater in Dallas. As a teenager, she worked in local bars, nightclubs, and buffet flats, mostly alone, but occasionally with singer-guitarists, including Blind Lemon Jefferson. In 1926 she moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where she was signed by Okeh Records. Her first recording, "Black Snake Blues" (1926), sold well, and her association with the label continued. She recorded numerous sides for Okeh in New York City until 1929, when she switched to the Victor label. Between 1931 and 1937, more recordings followed for Vocalion Records and Decca Records, and, working out of New York, she maintained an active performance schedule. Her recorded accompanists included King Oliver, Charles Avery, Louis Armstrong, Lonnie Johnson, and Red Allen.

The Depression did not put an end to Spivey's musical career. She found a new outlet for her talent in 1929, when the film director King Vidor cast her to play Missy Rose in his first sound film, Hallelujah!. Through the 1930s and 1940s Spivey continued to work in musical films and stage shows, including the hit musical Hellzapoppin (1938), often with her husband, the vaudeville dancer Billy Adams.

In 1951, Spivey retired from show business to play the pipe organ and lead a church choir, but she returned to secular music in 1961, when she was reunited with an old singing partner, Lonnie Johnson, to appear on four tracks on his Prestige Bluesville album Idle Hours.

The folk music revival of the 1960s gave her further opportunities to make a comeback. She recorded again for Prestige Bluesville, sharing an album, Songs We Taught Your Mother, with fellow veterans Alberta Hunter and Lucille Hegamin, and began making personal appearances at festivals and clubs, including the 1963 European tour of the American Folk Blues Festival.

In 1961, Spivey and the jazz and blues historian Len Kunstadt launched Spivey Records, a low-budget label dedicated to blues, jazz, and related music.

In March 1962, Spivey and Big Joe Williams recorded for Spivey Records, with harmonica accompaniment and backup vocals by Bob Dylan. The recordings were released on Three Kings and the Queen and Kings and the Queen Volume Two. Dylan was listed under his own name on the record covers. A picture of her and Dylan from this period is shown on the back cover of the Dylan album, New Morning. In 1964, Spivey made her only recording with an all-white band, the Connecticut-based Easy Riders Jazz Band, led by the trombonist Big Bill Bissonnette. It was released first on an LP and later re-released on compact disc.

Spivey married four times; her husbands included Ruben Floyd, Billy Adams, and Len Kunstadt.

Spivey died in New York on October 3, 1976, at the age of 69, from an internal hemorrhage.

Barbenheimer: Twisted Wonderland

Did they see Barbie or Oppenheimer?

Riddle saw neither just because he's not a fan of movies. However, Cater convinced him to see Barbie and he actually enjoyed it a lot.

Trey saw Barbie because both of his siblings wanted to go. He also went to Oppenheimer by himself because it looked somewhat interesting, but he liked Barbie more.

Cater saw Barbie because she's a girls girl of course. He originally just wanted to see it because he thought it would be cute, but he had an absolute breakdown over the ending.

Ace saw Oppenheimer because that's the more "manly" one, but he lowkey understood none of it. He only went to Barbie because some friends (*cough* Yuu *cough*) dragged him along. He'll never admit that he liked it.

Deuce saw Oppenheimer because he was interested in the more technological aspects like the bomb mechanics, but it wasn't his thing. He doesn't go see Barbie just because it's not his prefered genre, but he still respects it for what it is.

Leona sees Barbie because he's chill like that, plus Cheka wanted to go with him. He purposely avoids Oppenheimer because it sounded boring to him and he's not gonna pay for a nap when he can sleep at home.

Ruggie saw both. He was Oppenheimer first with the intent of watching Barbie after as a way to cheer himself up, but he cried more for Barbie and regretted not watching it first instead.

Jack saw neither because he's not the type to watch movies at a theater, but he does plan on watching Barbie with his sister once it comes out on DVD or a streaming service.

Azul claims he watched Oppenheimer to look cool, but he lowkey went and saw Barbie. He cried the most out of anyone and refuses to admit it.

Jade saw both. He admits to liking Oppenheimer more, but he appreciates the message and story of Barbie, and the vibes were much better in his opinion.

Floyd saw Barbie. Jade tried to convince him to watch Oppenheimer as well, but Barbie was more fun than a movie about "some dumb bomb" according to Floyd.

Kalim saw Barbie and started sobbing the moment it got even a little sad. Also, Allen was his favorite character and he refuses to elaborate when asked.

Jamil saw Oppenheimer by himself and Barbie with Kalim. He enjoyed Oppenheimer more, but that might also be because Kalim wasn't there to talk throughout the entire movie.

Vil saw Barbie because of course he did. He was probably attended the premier and had a great time watching. He did contemplate watching Oppenheimer, but decided against it upon hearing reviews.

Rook saw both. He enjoyed the story of Oppenheimer more, but he did like the vibes and messaging from Barbie. He probably liked Ken a little too much and Vil probably needs to stage an intervention of some kind.

Epel saw Oppenheimer for the same reason as Ace. However, Vil forced him to watch Barbie as well, and he did end up liking it more than he thought he would. Unlike Ace, he has no problem admitting this.

Idia saw Oppenheimer for the fun techie stuff like Deuce, and saw Barbie for the fun girlypop vibes like Cater. By saw, I, of course mean he made Ortho bring his tablet to both so that he didn't have to leave his room.

Ortho saw both because of the reasons above. He enjoyed Barbie more, but he thought both were really good and did a great job of achieving what they set out to do.

Malleus saw Barbie because Lilia dragged him along. It wasn't his favorite movie ever, but he appreciate it and learned a lot about human culture because of it.

Lilia saw Barbie because Cater and Kalim told him all about it and he had to see it for himself. Naturally, he drags Malleus, Silver, and Sebek along.

Silver saw both but fell asleep halfway through Oppenheimer because it started getting boring. He almost fell asleep during Barbie, but Lillia kept him awake.

Sebek saw both. Lilia dragged him along to see Barbie, which he liked fine, and he saw Oppenheimer with Silver, which he liked more.

Zum deutschen ESC-Vorentscheid:

Ryk, Isaak and NinetyNine fänd ich am Besten, aber überwiegend weil es solide Nummern sind die im Einheitsbrei verschwinden, ohne dass man sich groß dafür schämen muss. Ryk´s song is irgendwie der Beste, NinteyNine is bissl interessant und Isaak´s Stimme gefällt mir am besten von allen Songs bisher. Stimmlich gefallen mir alle drei.

Leona fand ich auch ok aber einen so ruhigen Song zu schicken fänd ich fatal. Andererseits mag ich den Titel sehr gern und eventuell schicken andere Länder dieses Jahr mehr Experimentelles als wir und ein ruhigerer Song wär da gut? Bin da sehr untentschlossen.

Mutzke auch solide aber irgendwie holt mich das gar nicht ab.

Bodine Monet bissl interessant aber sehr indie mainstream and zu sehr Tattoo-inspiriert irgendwie.

Ich bin keine Schlagermaus, also müssen wir über Marie Reim gar nicht reden, aber wie blöd ist der Song bitte? Wenn wir sie hinschicken bin ich nur froh dass niemand versteht worüber sie singt.

Alles in allem gefallen mir bis auf Naiv alle Songs aber keiner ist wirklich ESC-reif.

Und ein Song fehlt noch? Wenn der nicht besser ist als alles was wir bisher gehört haben rentiert sich das nichtmal den Vorentscheid zu gucken, ey.

Sag mal was du davon hältst. Bin ehrlich gesagt nichtmal sicher ob ich es dieses Jahr überhaupt gucke.

Galants Katzensong ist cool und sticht immerhin etwas raus, aus der bisherigen Auswahl mein Favorit (: endlich wieder was auf deutsch seit 2007 wäre ja auch was 😄 leider treten sie nicht mit ihrem Song tanzen 1-8 an, den finde ich viel besser als Katze. Aber damit könnte ich leben.

Max Mutzke ist gar nicht meins, das finde ich einfach nur öde.

Tears like rain ist ganz gut, finde es aber auch nicht interessant genug.

Many great divas of the last thirty to forty years have been African Americans: Grace Bumbry, Martina Arroyo, Shirley Verrett, Leona Mitchell, Betty Allen, Mattiwilda Dobbs, Kathleen Battle, Leontyne Price, Jessye Norman. And yet, until recently, opera was a white enterprise. Most opera houses forbade women or men of color from singing or attending. Few blacks attended the Metropolitan Opera, even in the absence of strict segregation policies, and no blacks sang leading roles there until Marian Anderson made her postprime debut in 1955 as Ulrica the gypsy witch in Un Ballo in Maschera. Rosalyn M. Story's recent study, And So I Sing: African-American Divas of Opera and Concert, details a long history of African-American women achieving fame either through recital work or through operatic performances in all-black companies.

In Jean-Jacques Beineix's film Diva, the diva, Wilhelmenia Wiggins Fernandez, an American woman of color, subverts the traditional image of the white diva and reminds us that divas, though usually white, have been linked to racial otherness, darkness, exoticism, and "blood". Long before the recent flourishing of the African-American diva, opera culture used images of darkness to demonize the diva. Color is one of the primary metaphors for the qualities of vocal tone. Singers are taught to avoid the "white" sound and to cover the tones, to make them darker. Roles like Carmen rely on the notion of the diva's "Latin blood". When divas have been made up to appear Asian or African for such roles as Aida, Selika, Cio-Cio-San, and Iris, they were expressing opera culture's insistence on the dark nature of the diva, as well as underscoring, in a problematic masquerade, the white diva's separation from the women of color she portrays.

The voice of the black operatic or concert diva was imagined to emanate directly from her ethnicity: commentators referred to Marian Anderson's "Negroid sound." And listeners have used metaphors of darkness and of racial essence to describe the appeal of certain female operatic voices even when the singer was white. Maria Malibran and Pauline Viardot were frequently described as having non-European features; one friend of Malibran speculated on the diva's "negro blood." A journalist, describing Adelina Patti as a child, notices her "little brown throat," her "Dark arms" clinging to her girl playmates' "white little necks"; because of her darkness, she is a "born exponent of the Spanish type." Italian origin was itself considered a sign of darkness: Margherita de L'Epine was called the "tawny Tuscan."

The diva brings her vocal treasure abroad, on tour to the colonies; and she finds there, among the colonized, a reflection of her abjected organ. Galli-Curci's biographer, narrating the diva's tour of Asia and Africa, alternates descriptions of her "native" audiences and accounts of her larynx's increasing vulnerability to medical specialists and to disease, as if the diva's voice, sent to tame and tranquilize the colonized, were itself the empire's possession, doomed to mysterious maladies and uncontrolled passions. Galli-Curci was like a missionary bent on conquering darkness; but her voice, because it was female, hidden, and inscrutable, was already aligned, in the imagery of empire, with the colonized.
