[IDOLiSH7] [Part 6] Chapter 5: Heart that believes, bonds that bind
6.5.1. - Dream
Young Musubi: Takanashi-senpai, Yaotome-senpai, what do you think is the greatest live?
Young Otoharu: Huh? The greatest live?
Young Sousuke: What is this about, all of a sudden?
Young Musubi: I have been thinking about it ever since I joined Tsukumo and saw all these lives from different artists.
Young Musubi: About what the greatest live would look like.
Young Sousuke: If we’re speaking in terms of attendants. The live with the biggest audience was a New Year’s Concert in the 1990s. Apparently, more than 3.5 million people attended.
Young Musubi: That’s amazing. What kind of huge venue did they use?
Young Sousuke: There’s no concert hall that three million people can fit into. So they did it at a beach.
Young Otoharu: At the beach? That’s nice. Do you think the “Summer Island Festival” that’s about to start will have this many attendees one day, too?
Young Sousuke: That would be a safety hazard, so there’s no way.
Young Otoharu: Do you think we can call Douglas Rootbank for it?
Young Sousuke: Douglas, huh…
Young Musubi: Takanashi-senpai, what would be the greatest live to you?
Young Otoharu: Maybe every live is the greatest live in its own way.
Young Otoharu: Because both the people on stage and the fans are there with feelings they hold dear to their hearts.
Young Sousuke: Your vision of things is always so vague.
Young Otoharu: I think being vague is fine. After all, the things we create by making lives have no clear form, either.
Young Otoharu: Having your heart moved, being overwhelmed with passion, or feeling united… if you had to, you could put them into words, but the meaning of all this is like a rainbow you can never reach.
Young Musubi: ….Rainbow…
Young Otoharu: As time goes on, the sensation fades. But we all definitely saw it together.
Young Otoharu: Both the stars and the fans saw the same rainbow. …No, that’s wrong.
Young Otoharu: They built a rainbow bridge together.
Young Musubi: Building a rainbow bridge together… It's like a fairy tale.
Young Sousuke: Right. That’s because he is a fairy tale type of guy. The idea of creating something together with the fans is weird.
Young Sousuke: Our job is to control the audience with a flawless performance.
Young Otoharu: Yaotome-kun, you’re so serious.
Young Sousuke: You’re just too carefree. I’ll work my way up quickly and become independent. And then I’ll be the lord of my own castle.
Young Otoharu: Having dreams is nice. What about you? Do you have any dreams?
Young Musubi: That’s a good question….
Young Musubi: I want to try creating the greatest live.
Young Musubi: The people standing on stage, the fans who came there, all the staff that’s involved…
Young Musubi: When they feel the same excitement and happiness, and you can create the shining performance you promised them…
Young Musubi: That’s the kind of live I want to make.
Young Otoharu: You can definitely do it. Right, Yaotome-kun?
Young Sousuke: Hm. You’re both prone to dreaming.
Young Sousuke: But well… It's good to have conviction.
Young Musubi: Yes! Takanashi-senpai, Yaotome-senpai, thank you very much.
Young Musubi: One day, I’ll make my dream come true… Together with the people on stage and the fans, I’ll create a happy rainbow.
Young Musubi: Even if it disappears right away…
Young Musubi: The memories of that rainbow I created together with all these people will live on forever inside my heart.
Young Musubi: Even after I am gone…
(ping)
Yotsuba Tamaki: Hm… A message from Sou-chan…
Yotsuba Tamaki: “I’m sorry about yesterday. MEZZO’’ had bonds.”
Yotsuba Tamaki: ……
Yotsuba Tamaki: “Had” bonds…?
Kujou Tenn: Here, some orange juice.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Ah. Thanks.
Kujou Tenn: Sorry for asking you to come over. Even though it’s your day off.
Yotsuba Tamaki: It’s fine. Unlike Sou-chan, I’m not composing or anything, so I have nothing to do anyway.
Kujou Tenn: ….I need to consult you about Aya.
Yotsuba Tamaki: I figured. This is the only thing you’d wanna talk to me about anyway, Tenten.
Kujou Tenn: What happened?
Yotsuba Tamaki: What?
Kujou Tenn: Haven’t you been acting weirdly spineless for a while now?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Ha? Spineless?
Kujou Tenn: Saying stuff like “I’m not composing, so I have nothing to do anyway.” or “This is the only thing you’d wanna talk to me about anyway.”.
Yotsuba Tamaki: I dunno what you mean. It’s not like it’s wrong.
Kujou Tenn: Since it’s your day off, it’s fine to rest how you’d like to. I just don’t call you unless it’s a special occasion because we’re both busy.
Kujou Tenn: But if there is time for that, I’d like to talk to you more, Yotsuba Tamaki. Because you’re a kind and funny person.
Yotsuba Tamaki: ………
Yotsuba Tamaki: Tenten~…
Kujou Tenn: What, now you’re trying to lean on me with that sweet voice?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Say it again~
Kujou Tenn: You’re needy.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Say it.
Kujou Tenn: You’re a genius. You’re good-looking and cute. You’re a special, popular person who’s loved all over the world.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Ahaha! That was too much.
Kujou Tenn: I like you when you’re honest. Even though you went out of our way to meet me, I’m sorry if I ended up making you feel bad.
Kujou Tenn: Even though I usually don’t spend time with you, I called you because it was convenient for me. Are you angry about that?
Kujou Tenn: If that’s the case, get angry at me. Stop saying things to put yourself down.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Okay….
Kujou Tenn: Are you mad?
Yotsuba Tamaki: ….No…. I was happy you were relying on me regarding Aya…
Yotsuba Tamaki: Because at least you’re relying on me, Tenten…
Kujou Tenn: What are you saying? Riku and Ousaka Sougo think you're dependable, too.
Yotsuba Tamaki: No way. Riku is the center and he’s super popular anyway. Besides, he has you, Tenten.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Even when Sou-chan has issues, he just solves them while composing by himself, so it’s not like he really needs me, either…
Kujou Tenn: Ousaka Sougo wouldn’t say something like that though, would he?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Even without being told, I already know. I can tell. I started being able to tell.
Kujou Tenn: ……
Yotsuba Tamaki: Everyone has a lot to do, yet I’m the only one who has nothing…
Yotsuba Tamaki: If things go on like this, they’ll end up leaving me behind. I have to find something somehow…
Yotsuba Tamaki: Thinking about it might’ve made me feel down. Sorry for saying things like this. …I’m fine now.
Yotsuba Tamaki: You know, Tenten, can I ask you for a favor before we talk about Aya?
Kujou Tenn: A favor?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Please give me the contact info of Ash Baker, the dance instructor you had for “Zero”.
~ to be continued ~
6.5.2. - Kind umbrella
Yotsuba Tamaki: I haven’t talked to the others yet, but I want to go to that teacher and take lessons from him.
Kujou Tenn: He usually works overseas, though.
Yotsuba Tamaki: I know. I was thinking of going on hiatus. Going on hiatus and studying abroad.
Yotsuba Tamaki: So I’ll be able to live on my own, freely.
Kujou Tenn: …….
Kujou Tenn: And you haven’t talked about this to the others yet?
Yotsuba Tamaki: I haven’t. I’ve only told you, Tenten.
Kujou Tenn: You can’t do that, Yotsuba Tamaki. Confiding in me about things you haven’t even told your group members.
Yotsuba Tamaki: ……
Kujou Tenn: …Aah… I think I finally get why I was told to stop taking on everything on my own.
Kujou Tenn: Wouldn’t they be sad to only hear about it afterwards, even though you’re in the same group?
Yotsuba Tamaki: …But if I talked to them about it, there’d be a huge fuss. Of course I’m going to talk to them later.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Tenten, give me his contact information. If you don’t, I’ll just ask Gakkun or Ryuu-aniki for it.
Kujou Tenn: Why do you want to study abroad? Not that I think living freely on your own is a bad thing….
Kujou Tenn: …Why would you, who loved IDOLiSH7, say something like that?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Didn’t I say it already? I just want to find something I want to do. Give me his contact information.
Yotsuba Tamaki: What about Aya? Didn’t you want to consult me about something?
Kujou Tenn: …The way you are right now, I won’t. I don’t think I should.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Why!?
Kujou Tenn: I feel like the timing is bad. You’re having worries right now, right?
Yotsuba Tamaki: I don’t have worries. I already decided. Hey… Talk to me, Tenten. Weren’t you relying on me?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Don’t just say you’ll stop now. I can do it! There’s a lot of things I can do properly…
Kujou Tenn: ….
Kujou Tenn: I’ll definitely stop.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Why!?
Kujou Tenn: You’re sulking.
Yotsuba Tamaki: I’m telling you I’m not sulking! Just tell me!
Kujou Tenn: Don’t raise your voice. I’ll properly listen to you regardless, so you don’t have to do that.
Yotsuba Tamaki: ……
Kujou Tenn: Stop forcing yourself to pretend like you’re an adult already.
Yotsuba Tamaki: I’m not. …I just figured things out.
Kujou Tenn: You didn’t. Nobody said they don’t need you. Aya needs you. IDOLiSH7, too.
Kujou Tenn: Did you feel lonely thinking that Aya and Ousaka Sougo weren’t relying on you?
Yotsuba Tamaki: …I mean… I mean, it’s true though…
Yotsuba Tamaki: They’re fine without me. I’m not sulking, either. Really, it’s fine like this.
Yotsuba Tamaki: I mean… if I didn’t like it, that’d mean I’d want them to be unhappy without me, right?
Kujou Tenn: ……
Yotsuba Tamaki: It’d be the same as wanting them to be hopeless without me. …That’d be awful of me, right…
Yotsuba Tamaki: Even though I thought it would be fine as long as Aya is happy…
Yotsuba Tamaki: Even though I thought it would be nice if Sou-chan was more confident… Ain’t that just a lie?
Kujou Tenn: Mhm…
Yotsuba Tamaki: But somehow right now… I don’t like it. They look so happy without me.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Tenten, how was it for you? When Rikkun was happy without you, didn’t you feel lonely?
Kujou Tenn: ……….
Yotsuba Tamaki: …In the past I would’ve never thought about this sort of thing. I didn’t care about what anyone else did.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Before I became part of IDOLiSH7, I was free.
Yotsuba Tamaki: I was fine on my own. That was just how I was. I never even thought about feeling lonely.
Yotsuba Tamaki: I wanna go back to those times… I was invincible back then.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Kch …I wanna go back to being invincible…
Kujou Tenn: …..
Kujou Tenn: You’re invincible even now, Yotsuba Tamaki.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Tenten….
Kujou Tenn: What if you tried it? Adopting a don’t-care attitude.
Yotsuba Tamaki: What…?
Kujou Tenn: It’s fine to say, “Sou-chan, pay attention to me”.
Yotsuba Tenn: I can’t tell him that! I’m not a kid!!!
Kujou Tenn: You wanna go back to being in invincible mode, right?
Yotsuba Tamaki: If I said that, I’d just bother him!! Sou-chan is busy right now!
Kujou Tenn: How would you feel if your friends hesitated to tell you about their worries solely because you are busy?
Kujou Tenn: Would you feel thankful towards them for noticing that you’re busy?
Yotsuba Tamaki: ….
Kujou Tenn: You wouldn’t. You’d feel sorry because you didn’t notice their troubles. The same goes for Ousaka Sougo.
Kujou Tenn: You’ll have to forgive him for not noticing. Right now is the happiest time of his life. After all, isn’t being able to create songs great?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Yeah…
Kujou Tenn: Wouldn’t you feel lonely if one of your group members suddenly decided on their own to go on hiatus or study abroad?
Yotsuba Tamaki: …I would…
Kujou Tenn: I would, too. If Gaku or Ryuu did something like that, I would think that I had wanted to talk to them beforehand.
Kujou Tenn: If it was my fault that either of them felt lonely, I’d regret it even more.
Kujou Tenn: I’d be sorry for not noticing.
Yotsuba Tamaki: …I didn’t think about that.
Kujou Tenn: Eh?
Yotsuba Tamaki: “Don’t you ignore me, thanks to whom do you think you’re here?” I was told that sort of thing by my old man.
Yotsuba Tamaki: “Whatever, he’s an idiot,” is what I thought… I don’t know anymore… I don’t wanna become like my old man...
Kujou Tenn: You won’t.
Yotsuba Tamaki: But…
Kujou Tenn: You won’t. Remember when we first met and you carried me on your back and ran to the venue.
Kujou Tenn: Thank you for that kindness. Thank you for helping me. You’re doing fine.
Yotsuba Tamaki: ..…Tenten…
Kujou Tenn: Where is Ousaka Sougo right now?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Probably… composing in the studio.
Kujou Tenn: You should go and spend time with him. You’ll be okay. Because you’re invincible. I will give you an invincible shield.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Because I carried you, Tenten? Like a reward item?
Kujou Tenn: That’s right. Go talk to Ousaka Sougo. After that, we can talk about Aya.
Yotsuba Tamaki: …Okay.
Kujou Tenn: Ah…
Yotsuba Tamaki: What?
Kujou Tenn: I’ll lend you my umbrella. It’s raining.

6.5.3. - Beginning rain shower
Rokuya Nagi: Lalala~ I’ll take an attempt at making latte art of my oshi. I’ll start with practice…
Rokuya Nagi: OH! I’m good at this! Now I have to keep going like this…
Rokuya Nagi: Ya~y! I made a cute heart!
Rokuya Nagi: Let’s take a photo! Alright, café latte and me, smile~!
(click)
Rokuya Nagi: OH…. Beautiful. Time to upload it to Rabbitter.
(door opens)
Ousaka Sougo: I’m back.
Rokuya Nagi: Hi, Sougo! Please look at this! It’s latte art!
Ousaka Sougo: Waah, it’s good! That’s a pretty zebra.
Rokuya Nagi: It’s a heart.
Ousaka Sougo: Aah, you’re right. Nagi-kun, I know it’s sudden, but how about tonight?
Rokuya Nagi: It really is sudden, but what are you talking about?
Ousaka Sougo: I thought we could… together…
Rokuya Nagi: WHAT…?
Ousaka Sougo: ……
Ousaka Sougo: Nevermind. It’s fine after all…
Rokuya Nagi: OH… I am very very very curious….
Ousaka Sougo: There’s something I want to do with you…
Rokuya Nagi: Wait, Sougo. Why are you not telling me the key word of this request? Is it something bad?
Ousaka Sougo: It’s not anything illegal, but it is something I feel guilty about doing… kind of…
Rokuya Nagi: Hm… Like having a bucket of ice cream and only eating one bite before throwing it away…?
Ousaka Sougo: Only kings and royalty would do that. Ah… you were royalty.
Rokuya Nagi: Northmeir’s royal family treasures its ice cream. What about your family, Sougo?
Ousaka Sougo: Ice cream… When we had it at the end of a full-course meal, even my father would eat it.
Rokuya Nagi: Right. There’s no one who dislikes ice cream.
Ousaka Sougo: …Nagi-kun.
Rokuya Nagi: Yes.
Ousaka Sougo: …Do you have time tonight after all? I… I have to ask you for a favor…
Rokuya Nagi: Hm…
Rokuya Nagi: Okay. I will help you. But if possible, I would like to hear what this is about first.
Rokuya Nagi: I believe in you, Sougo, and I want to be helpful to you. What would you like to do together?
Ousaka Sougo: Nagi-kun…
Ousaka Sougo: …Thank you. I’m sorry I couldn’t say it from the beginning… Uhm…
Ousaka Sougo: On the day we said goodbye to Sakura-san, we played the piano together, right?
Ousaka Sougo: I want to play with you like we did that day. I’m renting a studio tonight, so if it’s not too much trouble for you…
Rokuya Nagi: Wow! Playing with you again sounds fun, Sougo! From the bottom of my heart, I’d be happy to!
Rokuya Nagi: But, why?
Ousaka Sougo: …..I was hoping to get a hint from you while doing that…
Rokuya Nagi: A hint for songwriting? And that’s something bad?
Ousaka Sougo: It’s not a bad idea… right? I thought that if I can’t solve it with my own strength, I should try to ask someone for help…
Rokuya Nagi: Hm… I'll take care of that inspiration of yours, Sougo.
Rokuya Nagi: There has to be a reason why you thought this is a bad thing to do. What kind of song are you making?
Ousaka Sougo: …It’s a MEZZO’’ song about bonds.
Rokuya Nagi: OH! It’s the theme song for the special drama you’re starring in, isn’t it?
Ousaka Sougo: That’s right. The deadline is approaching, but it’s not going well…
Ousaka Sougo: Even though I think that me and Tamaki-kun should have a bond, a lot of things happened and I became awkward with him, too…
Rokuya Nagi: OH…. MEZZO’’’s bond…
Ousaka Sougo: When I played the piano with you and Natsume-san, the melodies naturally merged together, even though we didn’t have a meeting beforehand.
Ousaka Sougo: That day, I felt something like a bond. I want to experience that once more… which is why I need your help.
Rokuya Nagi: OK, Sougo. I didn’t lie about wanting to play with you.
Rokuya Nagi: But don’t you think that because it is a song about MEZZO’’s bond, the one you should be asking for help is Tamaki instead of me?
Ousaka Sougo: But… I’ll bother Tamaki-kun if I ask him about songwriting.
Ousaka Sougo: I decided to selfishly start songwriting all on my own, so I definitely can't trouble Tamaki-kun with it…
Rokuya Nagi: Tamaki can’t play piano, but he has a beautiful singing voice. He has a bond with you, too.
Ousaka Sougo: …You think me and him have a bond…?
Rokuya Nagi: As long as you believe in it. The second you stop, the bond disappears. Or rather, it becomes invisible.
Rokuya Nagi: Once you believe in it again, you start being able to see it again. Me and my brother were like that, too.
Ousaka Sougo: …You realized you had a bond with him?
Rokuya Nagi: Yes. I felt a bond. It was like finding a treasure chest in the sand.
Ousaka Sougo: …..I wonder if I had that, too….
Ousaka Sougo: I never felt a bond with my family…
Ousaka Sougo: …I feel like I’ve been seeing the things I consider bonds right now in a wrong light, too…
Ousaka Sougo: I don’t know where I’m supposed to draw the line… Whether it’s alright to rely on people to this point, whether it’s rude to not rely on people, whether it’s rude to rely on them too much…
Rokuya Nagi: The answer is different for everyone. That’s why creating bonds with people is both hard and fun.
Rokuya Nagi: I am happy that you were able to rely on me just now.
Ousaka Sougo: …Thank you. Nagi-kun…
Ousaka Sougo: That’s right, it’s just as you said. I will try talking to Tamaki-kun. If it’s fine with you, the studio today…
(ping)
Ousaka Sougo: Aah… It’s a rabicha from Tamaki-kun.
Rokuya Nagi: OH! Speak of the devil!
Ousaka Sougo: …He wrote, ”Can I watch today when you’re at the recording studio?”…
Rokuya Nagi: Ahaha! See?
Rokuya Nagi: There were bonds after all! Nice timing!
Ousaka Sougo: …Yes…!
--
Midou Torao: ….
Utsugi Shirou: What a heavy shower. It would be nice if it stopped soon.
Midou Torao: Right…
Utsugi Shirou: There’s always so many sudden rain showers in this season, it’s bothersome. Even the shooting had to be stopped.
Midou Torao: Well, yeah.
Utsugi Shirou: Do you like the summer?
Midou Torao: A normal amount… Why are you asking?
Utsugi Shirou: What do you mean “why”?
Midou Torao: Well, you were trying so hard to make small talk with me.
Utsugi Shirou: Because I like making small talk with you, Midou-san. By the way, are you scared of heights?
Midou Torao: Not really….
Utsugi Shirou: Heh…
Midou Torao: What’s this about?
Utsugi Shirou: Oh, nothing. Nothing at all.
Midou Torao: ……
Utsugi Shirou: Are you actually scared?
Midou Torao: No, I’m not scared. I am fine.
Utsugi Shirou: Heh…
--
Isumi Haruka: …It’s hard to hear because of the rain, but doesn’t Utsugi-san suck at casual conversation!?
Natsume Minami: He usually seems so composed and resourceful, yet why…?
Inumaru Touma: From here on out, it’ll be like that… Since telling him indirectly didn’t work, we’ll have to do it as directly as possible…
Inumaru Touma: Which is to say, instead of just eavesdropping, we should directly go ask Tora ourselves, right?
Isumi Haruka: Wait a little longer! Torao has a load of pride, so he’d also start sulking super easily!
Natsume Minami: If we ask him about it, he’ll be weirdly stubborn about it. Remember how it was with me.
Inumaru Touma: How it was with you?
Natsume Minami: When you three invited me to go to Northmeir, I said I definitely wouldn’t go, right?
Inumaru Touma: You did…
Natsume Minami: If my pride hadn’t gotten in the way, I might have been able to be honest much sooner.
Isumi Haruka: Torao is the oldest, after all. Maybe it’s hard for him to show his weak side in front of us.
Inumaru Touma: Who cares if he’s the oldest. I’m the leader, so I’ll ask him!
Natsume Minami: Wait, please wait…!
Isumi Haruka: Let’s try watching for a bit longer.
--
Utsugi Shirou: Is there something you would like to do? Or something you wouldn’t like to do?
Midou Torao: ……
Utsugi Shirou: It might be a bad question to ask right as filming is wrapping up, but… Are you actually bad at this sort of thing?
Midou Torao: Not really… There’s nothing I’m not good at, and I have no weak points, either.
Utsugi Shirou: Aah, as expected of you.
Midou Torao: Haha, obviously…. “Something I want to do”…
Midou Torao: …. I don’t really have something I want to do.
Utsugi Shirou: Is that so?
Midou Torao: Yeah.
Utsugi Shirou: I understand. If you can think of anything, please do tell me.
Midou Torao: And what would you do if I did? Go along with my selfishness?
Utsugi Shirou: Well, yes. I will do my best to go along with it. I would try to negotiate with people about it…
Midou Torao: Hmpf. That’s typical of Tsukumo. But I don’t have any troubles right now, so don’t bother.
Utsugi Shirou: Uhm… Please don’t misunderstand. That doesn’t mean we would agree to something unreasonable, just because a talent of ours is being selfish.
Utsugi Shirou: But if it’s something related to your work motivation, Midou-san, then I would want to respect that.
Midou Torao: …..? So what? Didn’t you just change your wording?
Utsugi Shirou: That’s wrong. If you’re being pointlessly selfish, I won’t go along with it.
Midou Torao: …..
Utsugi Shirou: If there is something that makes you see your own potential and want to take on a challenge, I will do my best to support you.
Utsugi Shirou: Because I want you to love both yourself and this job more.
Utsugi Shirou: How do I put it… because that would also increase your appeal and value.
Utsugi Shirou: That way, there’ll be invisible benefits to this shoot for you, too. Like you gaining momentum, or new strength.
Utsugi Shirou: That being said, speaking of business… It’s not like we’ll selfishly ask anything from you, either.
Midou Torao: …Hm… There’s no guarantee that my value would increase, though.
Utsugi Shirou: If we were to guarantee anything, we wouldn’t be able to support newcomers.
Utsugi Shirou: Precisely because we know that there are no guarantees, as long as time permits it, the entertainment world will continue to give people chances.
Utsugi Shirou: We do this work because we want the productions you’re all involved in to turn out great.
Midou Torao: …..But if it was all for nothing, it’d be disappointing.
Utsugi Shirou: Well, yeah.
Midou Torao: ……..
Midou Torao: …. Then it’s fine like this. I won’t do anything to hinder our progress when nobody even wants me to.
Midou Torao: I don’t really have anything I want to do.
Utsugi Shirou: Okay. I understand. I’m sorry for asking you this many times.
Midou Torao: It’s fine, thanks.
Utsugi Shirou: By the way, I do have one last question.
Midou Torao: Yeah.
Utsugi Shirou: “When nobody even wants me to”… Does that “nobody” include you, too, Midou-san?
Midou Torao: ……
Utsugi Shirou: If it doesn’t include you… And there is something you do want to do, I will make my move.
Utsugi Shirou: Please tell me.
Midou Torao: ….I don’t know…
Utsugi Shirou: ……..
Midou Torao: ….I don’t know if it’s okay to want something to the point of causing people trouble…
Utsugi Shirou: …….
Utsugi Shirou: It’s okay. I’ll take responsibility. It’s okay if you fail, too. Don’t worry, please just tell me about it.
Utsugi Shirou: Is there something you would like to do? I am very sorry, but I don’t know what it is if you don’t tell me.
Utsugi Shirou: Please tell me what you want to do. Please let me help you.
Midou Torao: …..I can’t…
Utsugi Shirou: ……
Midou Torao: I can’t say it…. I’m scared of saying it…
Utsugi Shirou: …Midou-san…
Midou Torao: ….Shut up! I told you it’s fine!
Midou Torao: …I have nothing more to say to you. Go somewhere else.
Utsugi Shirou: ………I will do that.

Yotsuba Tamaki: What is this thing for?
Ousaka Sougo: Ah… This piece of equipment is old. We won’t be using it today.
Yotsuba Tamaki: And that one?
Ousaka Sougo: That one, too.
Yotsuba Tamaki: You’re barely using any of these then, huh.
Ousaka Sougo: That’s true… I think it would be possible with just a modern smartphone at this point.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Huh.
Ousaka Sougo: Sorry… Even though you went out of your way to accompany me to the studio.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Not really… It’s fine.
Ousaka Sougo: This umbrella, did you buy it?
Yotsuba Tamaki: I borrowed it from Tenten.
Ousaka Sougo: Ah, I see. …Why did you meet up with Kujou-san?
Yotsuba Tamaki: ……
Ousaka Sougo: ……Did I ask too much? I want to respect your privacy….
Yotsuba Tamaki: No. ….Well, it’s kind of like… I really don’t get it, either.
Ousaka Sougo: …… Is that so….
Yotsuba Tamaki: Is that bad?
Ousaka Sougo: No… Ah… Before I came here, there was a rainbow. Did you see it too, Tamaki-kun?
Yotsuba Tamaki: I didn’t see it.
Ousaka Sougo: I see…
Ousaka Sougo: ….Then, would you listen to the part I’ve composed so far? There’s multiple variants, though…
Yotsuba Tamaki: Sou-chan, wait. Can I tell you something before that?
Ousaka Sougo: You want to tell me something…? Of course that’s fine! You can tell me anything.
Yotsuba Tamaki: I…
Yotsuba Tamaki: I’m thinking about quitting IDOLiSH7 and MEZZO’’ for a while.
Ousaka Sougo: ….
Ousaka Sougo: ….Eh….?
Yotsuba Tamaki: It’s not that I hate being an idol. I love singing, I love dancing, and I love all the fans. I love you guys, too.
Yotsuba Tamaki: I wanna continue like this forever, but I don’t know what kind of idol I wanna be anymore…
Yotsuba Tamaki: I want to do it more seriously. Look at Iorin and yourself. I wanna be an idol who can stand on their own…
Ousaka Sougo: …But you’re doing good enough right now..…
Yotsuba Tamaki: I want it, too. Something like a dream.
Yotsuba Tamaki: You guys made my dreams of finding Aya and getting friends that are like family come true, so…
Yotsuba Tamaki: I want a dream that’ll prevent me from feeling lonely. No matter who Aya is with, no matter how busy you are with songwriting.
Yotsuba Tamaki: I want to chase after that thing I want. And for that I wanna leave this place to study abroad.
Ousaka Sougo: …..
Ousaka Sougo: Tamaki-kun, what is it that you wanna do?
Yotsuba Tamaki: I dunno… I think maybe it’s dancing though…
Ousaka Sougo: …..I see…. You’re good at dancing, after all.
Ousaka Sougo: ….Right… I’m sure you’ll be a great idol once you’ve mastered dancing.
YotsubaTamaki: You think so?
Ousaka Sougo: Yes…
Yotsuba Tamaki: I dunno, really… Maybe I’m just saying this to bother you and Aya, too…
Ousaka Sougo: …Bother…?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Like I just want you guys to care about me. …Does it seem like that?
Ousaka Sougo: …….I’m sorry…. I don’t know….
Yotsuba Tamaki: ….I see…
Ousaka Sougo: ……
Yotsuba Tamaki: Well…. I hate worrying like this, so I really want to find it.
Yotsuba Tamaki: That thing I want to do. Something to get lost in. Because I don’t wanna think about the rest of this long life I’ve ahead of me.
Ousaka Sougo: …That’s right, isn’t… I’ll cheer you on.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Really?
Ousaka Sougo: Sorry for not being able to say it right away… I was just shaken…
Yotsuba Tamaki: It’s fine, it’s fine. If you had cheered me on right away, it would’ve shocked me, too, you know.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Thinking about it, I wonder if I’m just sulking because I’m lonely after all…
Yotsuba Tamaki: Thank you, Sou-chan.
Ousaka Sougo: …..No…
Ousaka Sougo: Thank you for telling me about it…

Midou Torao: ……….Ha….
Inumaru Touma: Tora!
Natsume Minami: Midou-san….
Midou Torao: You guys…
Inumaru Touma: What happened? Yelling at Utsugi-san like that…. You were making a real sad face, too.
Midou Torao: Were you guys watching…!?
Natsume Minami: …We were. We were worried about you.
Midou Torao: Ahaha! Aren’t you one to talk? I mean, you guys are…
Natsume Minami: Calm down. You should know that we aren’t here to laugh at you.
Natsume Minami: Take my hand. There you go…
Midou Torao: ……Sorry…. I kind of suddenly started panicking…
Inumaru Touma: Panicking… Was there something you were scared of after all? Like something you don’t want to see?
Midou Torao: ….That’s not it…
Midou Torao: He… He asked me if there was something I wanted to do.
Inumaru Touma: That means….
Midou Torao: I couldn’t tell him anything.
Inumaru Touma: Because there was nothing? Or because there was something and you couldn’t tell him?
Midou Torao: …
Inumaru Touma: If there’s something, tell us. You can talk without holding back if it’s us, right?
Midou Torao: ….That…..
Inumaru Touma: You can’t say it even now? Not even in front of us?
Natsume Minami: Inumaru-san…
Inumaru Touma: If there’s something you wanna do, Tora, I’ll support you no matter what it is. Even so, you still can’t tell me?
Midou Torao: …..
Inumaru Touma: I mean it. No matter what it is, I won’t say I’m against it without hearing you out first. I swear on my life.
Inumaru Touma: Even so…?
Midou Torao: …But…
Midou Torao: But you’ll laugh at me…
Inumaru Touma: Huh?!? You idiot! We’d never laugh at you!
Natsume Minami: Inumaru-san, calm down…
Inumaru Touma: But…! When did I ever laugh at you?! We’re group members!
Midou Torao: …I get it. In my head, I get it, but…
Midou Torao: My voice gets stuck in my throat… I'm scared of saying it out loud…
Natsume Minami: Midou-san…
Midou Torao: “Even if you say what you want to do… even if you tell them seriously… they'll laugh and say it’s impossible…”
Midou Torao: “It’s pointless, so don’t even try”… “I’m saying this for your own good…” I can’t get that voice out of my head…
Midou Torao: ….Even though Utsugi-san said he’d give me a chance…
Inumaru Touma: …..Tora….
Midou Torao: …Why…
Inumaru Touma: …….
Tumblr media
Inumaru Touma: Tora, tell us. Tell us what you want to do. I definitely won’t laugh. If I do, you can kill me.
Natsume Minami: I promise, too. Of course, if you are having a hard time, I won’t force it on you, Midou-san.
Natsume Minami: But could you trust us and tell us about it…?
Midou Torao: ….a….
Inumaru Touma: ….
Natsume Minami: ….
Midou Torao: …..A….
Inumaru Touma: ….
Natsume Minami: ….
Midou Torao: Damn… This has to be a joke… Why am I this scared…? What am I so scared of…?
Midou Torao: It’s just saying what I want… Why is… Why is it making me feel this miserable…?
Midou Torao: …Aah…. This is so pathetic and embarrassing…. I don’t want to say it after all…
Inumaru Touma: Why….
Midou Torao: I look so dumb…. Secretly thinking about something this stupid and causing everyone trouble…
Inumaru Touma: You’re smart and cool, Tora! What happened to your usual confidence?
Midou Torao: I don’t know… It’s fine… Can we stop talking about this now?
Inumaru Touma: Even if we stop now, I’ll just ask you again!
Midou Torao: …..
Midou Torao: I wanted to do it.
Inumaru Touma: Eh…?
Midou Torao: An action scene. I wanted to do one by myself. I wanted to move around like a hero… that’s all.
Midou Torao: Sorry for saying such stupid things.

Post-post-post cannon Wangxian being completely in love in the cloud recessess as teenagers who time travelled back to their own 16-17 year old bodies on accident.
In love. Wangxian are in love. In love. Just smooph and fluff.
Like they're effortlessly in love. (No matter how much Jiang Cheng yells and ties to control Wei Wuxian, Wei Wuxian casually refuses to hear any of it, as he'd been ignoring Jiang Cheng's homophobia and hate forever by the time they both came back by accident. )
Also wwx doesn't hide his genius and every one around him is like senpai *heart eyes* (honestly he's almost forgotten how to hide his effortless genius.)
(Just FYI, don't have to include this: this Wei Wuxian has long since come to terms with all his war and Sunshot and Shiji related trauma— just FYI.)
I just want to read as much of the smooph, smushy fluff and love you can stomach writing please.
Extra points if you can show them both just effortlessly and absentmindedly flirting.
(You don't have to incude this, but: They just take like a weekend off and go raze the main Wen family to the ground casually— back late with Starbucks— "We were night hunting. What do you mean the Wen family died? So sad. We feel so bad. Don't we feel bad?" " Mm. Feel bad.")
Thank you so much for existing in this fandom. I love your fics. I love you. 💖
Xichen is proud of his brother but he can't deny that he is sometimes concerned for him as well. Wangji is a dedicated and accomplished disciple but he is isolated from his peers. Xichen has friends and confidants but Wangji is simply content to be by himself.
That is concerning, even for a Lan.
He had hopes that incoming disciples would manage to shake him up a little but that hope didn't last long. Year after year, Wangji continued to remain aloof, not expressing any interest in the disciples.
But something has changed this year. Xichen didn't even know what was going on until a few weeks into the introduction of the guest disciples.
He spots them by chance. Young Master Wei is cheerfully waving at a vendor, his smile wide and bright, ensnaring the old woman's entire attention.
Wangji is right by him, Bichen in one hand but the other…
The other is placed on the small of Wei-gongzi's back.
Xichen watches as they move on from the vendor. He sees how Wangji seems to shield Wei-gongzi from the crowd, angling his body slightly to ensure his companion can walk freely.
It is a gesture of protectiveness. It is a gesture of possession.
Xichen studies their body language carefully. Wangji seems content to follow Wei-gongzi around, his expression closed but gentle. There are no frosty glares or pursed lips. His brother, for once, looks entirely relaxed. Everything about him is loose and easy underneath all of his Lan elegance. His shoulders slope gently, his spine isn't as rigid, and his walk is steady.
The First Jade has never seen his brother look so settled.
Wei Wuxian seems happy too, his smile incandescent and lovely. Almost as tall as Wangji, the boy is the very antithesis of his brother. While Wangji is sedate and content, Wei Wuxian is nearly bursting with energy and joy. His silver eyes sparkle in the sunlight and his long hair sways with every movement of his body.
Xichen's heart softens at the glimpse of such open beauty. There's certainly something alluring about Young Master Wei. He seems to suffuse his surroundings with happiness.
There's something in the air around them.
Despite his lively mind wandering from one stall to another, Wei-gongzi always finds his way back to Wangji, looking at him with a hopeful smile and a cheerful comment.
His brother's expression is unfamiliar to him. Wangji looks like his entire world is smiling up at him.
'Is this love?' He wonders to himself as he watches his brother gently pull Wei-gongzi out of a running child's way. He doesn't miss how the touch lingers, fingers curling slightly around the slender wrist before pulling away.
There are many eyes following Wangji and his friend, and all of them have indulgent expressions. The people of Caiyi town have seen Wangji since he was a child. They know him and his nature well enough.
Xichen suspects they're just as happy to see Wangji roaming the markets leisurely as a pretty butterfly flutters around him.
"Is that Lan Wangji?" Nei Mingjue observes, stepping up beside him.
Xichen nods, "And his friend, Wei Wuxian."
"Hm," his friend says, "I've been hearing that name a lot recently. They say the only reason Jin Zuxian beat him in the rankings is because of his looks."
Xichen chuckles at Mingjue's tone, "Ah, Da-ge, you must hate that."
His friend rolls his eyes, taking a sip of his tea. "How do looks matter when you're facing down Fierce Corpses?"
"From what shufu says, Young Master Wei is Wangji's equal in many ways." Shufu had been wary at first, wondering what sort of chaos the son of Cangse Sanren would bring to Cloud Recesses. So far, Wei Wuxian has proven to be a mischievous but brilliant student. "He challenges shufu in class. They end up having loud, angry debates," Xichen chuckles because he knows his uncle, despite all appearances, loves being stimulated, "He mentions the boy often." There's a comment about Wei Wuxian almost every time he has tea with his uncle.
He looks at the two younger master's thoughtfully, "I didn't expect this."
"Are they courting?" Nei Mingjue asks bluntly, "Because your little brother is acting like a husband already."
Xichen stills and looks at the pair again. That is what's off about their body language. They move around each other confidently, not like a young couple in fresh blooms of love.
There are no tentative glances, awkward touches, and hyperawareness. Wangji touches Wei Wuxian like it is his right. Like he is confident that his touch is welcome and desired.
For a moment, he feels a pang of worry. Xichen looks at Wei Wuxian, studying him carefully to see if there's any sign of strain or distress.
He finds nothing. Wei-gongzi responds to every gesture of affection like a flower blooming under the Sun.
"Ah." He realizes, "You think…?"
"Strong bonds form quickly between cultivators with matching potential." Nei Mingjue observes, "It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. Your brother looks a little too enamored for this to be a teenage fancy."
Well, isn't this an interesting development?
---
"Your hair looks nice," Nie Huaisang says, hiding a smile behind his fan. Wei-xiong always looks good but there's something particularly radiant about him now. He seems to stand a bit taller, carry himself with a bit more confidence. His gestures seem stronger, somehow carrying more authority than before.
But the hair intrigues him. There's a glittering silver hairpiece in it and the strands of ebony are tied up in a neat style.
Neater than Wei-xiong's usual style. While Huaisang is certain Wei-xiong is perfectly capable of making himself as elegant as the Jades of Lan, he usually doesn't bother.
This was done by someone else's careful, loving, hand.
Jiang Yanli isn't at Cloud Recesses and Jiang Cheng would rather burn his own hands than show even an ounce of love towards his shixiong - something pricks when he thinks about that.
So there's someone else, someone willing to comb Wei-xiong's hair until every strand is glossy and straight, before tying it up with a silver and jade pin that looks expensive.
Wei-xiong is courting- no, he corrects himself, watching his friend wave enthusiastically at Lan Wangji, 'Wei-xiong is being courted.'
Wangji-xiong bows to his brother and walks towards Wei-xiong, his gaze softer than usual. His friend is smiling widely and immediately dissolves into excited chatter. Wangji-xiong doesn't seem bothered, just nodding occasionally and watching with indulgent patience.
There's something entirely lovely about the way Wangji-xiong's eyes remain fixed on Wei Wuxian's face. It is like nothing else is more important to him than Wei-xiong's smile and cheerful voice.
Standing together in the courtyard, both clad in white and glowing under the warm light of the morning sun, they look stunning. Huaisang's romantic heart sighs at the sight.
"What is he doing?" Jiang Wanyin hisses and Huaisang looks at him, startled by his icy tone, "I can't believe he's making a nuisance of himself again!"
"Jiang-gongzi-"
"Wei Wuxian! What are you doing, messing around?"
The loud voice catches almost everyone's attention. Wei-xiong looks over his shoulder and Wangji-xiong's expression turns frosty, all warmth draining from it immediately.
"Aiya, Jiang Cheng," Wei-xiong grins but it doesn't have that sheepish, placating quality that Huaisang had seen before, on those rare occasions he visited Lotus Pier with his da-ge. This grin was full of confidence and almost... dismissal. "Why are you angry now?"
Was that tone... mocking?
Huaisang's lips twitch as Jiang-gongzi swells further with rage, "Wei Wuxian! How can you be so shameless? Imposing yourself on Lan Wangji, always trying to distract him. Think of our sect's reputation for once!"
"Do not speak for me." Wangji-xiong's voice is icy and it cuts Jiang-gongzi's rant short immediately, "Wei Ying is free to seek me out whenever he wishes. No one may stop him."
And that seems to be that. Wei-xiong laughs and Wangji-xiong guides him away gently like he's someone delicate and not the strongest cultivator of their generation.
But, Huaisang muses, even strong people deserve gentleness.
---
"Da-shixiong! Show us that one again," A Jiang disciple demands and Wangji looks up from his work. He has clear sight of the training ground from where he's sitting. Wei Ying is standing in the middle, surrounded by a few Jiang and Lan disciples.
They're all looking at him in adoration.
Wangji feels a flood of amusement and sets his work aside, content to take a small break. It is always a treat to see his husband in his element; teaching people and nurturing young minds. They may be back in their teenage bodies, but their soul is much older.
Wei Ying, with his natural ability to charm juniors and his hard-earned wisdom, is the perfect teacher.
"It is amusing to see you so smitten," Wangji looks up to see his brother smiling at him, "Wei-gongzi must be very special, yes?"
His brother probably aims to fluster him, he is so fond of teasing Wangji. But Wangji had been Wei Ying's husband for more than a decade before an accident sent them back in time. He is no longer flustered or overwhelmed by his feelings. "Very special," He agrees, unable to help glancing back at his beloved, "Very lovely."
Xichen chuckles, "He is indeed lovely." His expression turns sly, "Do I need to speak with Uncle? Betrothal negotiations may be complicated in this case."
Wangji remains unphased, "You may," He says calmly, much to his brother's surprise, "Wei Ying will marry into the Lans. Give no concession to the Jiangs. He is just their Head Disciple, not the part of the family."
"Wangji," His brother breathes, "You're that invested?"
"Un. Will marry Wei Ying. Give him a better life. A life of dignity, freedom, and respect. Free of unnecessary debt that no one should foist on a child."
That is enough for Xichen to understand. His gaze turns solemn and he looks at Wei Ying carefully, "If that is what you wish, brother, you will have it."
---
Wangji feels his heart still when he steps into the library pavilion. He gazes at the scene before him, feeling the stiff formality of his expression melt away.
Wei Ying is beautiful, sitting there and reading peacefully. The evening sunlight envelopes him, giving him an ethereal glow. He traces his husband's features, feeling something akin to desperate love. It has been so since he saw this face and this body. Mo Xuanyu didn't lack beauty and Wei Ying's radiant personality had only added to it.
But this is Wei Ying's true body.
Helplessly drawn, he steps forward. "Xingan."
Wei Ying looks up, startled to hear such an endearment aloud. Immediately, his face is aglow with a pretty blush even as he laughs teasingly, "Lan Zhan! Don't be so bold!"
He walks towards Wei Ying and settles down by him, closer than truly appropriate but this is his husband. "Research?"
Wei Ying smiles, drawing Wangji's attention to his lips. There's no one in the library so Wangji permits himself the touch, reaching forward to gently caress them, "Such beauty." He whispers.
Wei Ying blushes again, "Er-gege," He protests, "Have mercy on my heart."
His fingers slide under Wei Ying's jaw, drawing him in gently. His husband is sweet and compliant as Wangji kisses him, an innocent brush of lips and nothing more. "My Wei Ying." His voice is low, heated in ways Wei Ying recognizes. He watches as those enchanting silver eyes brighten with passion.
His Wei Ying buries his warm face in his neck with a moan of protest, "Mercy, husband. You're so cruel to tease me like this when you can't take me to bed."
It is indeed a challenge to not have their 'everyday' but Wangji can be patient. Xiongzhang is already working on it.
For now, he is content.
They sit like that for a long time, Wei Ying leaning against him, trusting and calm. No one disturbs them and Xichen only stops by once, smiling knowingly in their direction and pointedly ignoring Wangji's restraining hand around Wei Ying's waist, stopping him from pulling away.
They spend the rest of the evening exchanging soft murmurs and softer kisses.
Nothing will stand in their way this time.

Constant requests that you get married were sent in your way for the past several months. Your parents were tired of having to wait to see you bring a man home, but you had no intention to comply. The topic would come up to the table during dinner every now and then, with your mother furrowing in her brows and your father sighing in distress. On your part, you played cool, soothing them that you just found a guy and dismissing the matter with a feigned grin.
Everything would be ordinary, much to your own liking until your parents secretly signed you up for a match-matching service. You had a big argument that night but they smugly smiled and ensured that you would fall in love with him immediately. It was ridiculous.
“You’d be head over heels in no time, Y/N,” your mother said.
“Like she knows who he is,” you mumbled, scoffing on your way back to your apartment.
Though you completely shut the door to the new romance—the guy that you presumably knew nothing about—you woke up earlier than usual, earlier than you should. You blamed it on your neighbor’s child crying but you discerned that you were being irrational. The whole situation was aberrant. You purposefully threw on a pair of jeans and a shirt that was too worn out for a first date. Still, you could not be any more careless, the last thing you wanted was to get the man to generate some form of adoration for you. You checked yourself in the mirror and made sure that you looked representable nonetheless.
The sun was already high up in the sky when you locked your door and tiredly dropped the keys into your handbag, storming to the destination with angry steps. It was your day off and you could have spent your time on something much more meaningful, training, for example. Kakashi-senpai said you still needed to hone your close combat skills. You pursed your lips at the thought of the Hatake, feeling even more enraged and annoyed. The said Shinobi was a nice guy, he was gentle and mannered with everyone but you. He treated you like his kid, bossing you around, requesting you to dig through the shelves of bookstores to find the limited edition of Icha Icha that was recently published. But you did not quit being his subordinate. Kakashi had everything that you needed to harness, from his skills to knowledge, and you would never let such a golden opportunity go wasted.
Being with him for two long years brought you many benefits and visible improvements, one of them being your patience. You were short-tempered and Kakashi was just the perfect tame to your boiling climate. The silver-haired veteran knew you were cantankerous on some days, like today, when you were having an involuntary sunbathing session, and would always be later than he usually would. Over the drenching months, you grew indifferent to his tardiness, adapted to his peculiar conscience of time, and no longer rambled when he arrived. He would come up with the most bizarre excuses to get away with it, and at first, you were furious about it, but you found them somewhat adorable now.
You smiled, wondering why you were recalling your moments with Kakashi when you were waiting for your date to come. You bit the inner side of your cheek when you realized your patience was running thin—it reminded you of your silver-haired senpai. Releasing a shaky breath, you calmed yourself down, assuring that you would apologize to the man that it was merely a misunderstanding with your parents that they signed you up for today. You rubbed the surface of the table with your fingers and let your thoughts carried you away at the moment, unconsciously drumming the rhythm of your favorite song—his favorite song that you grew accustomed to after years of the very special silver-haired occupying your day.
“You seem nervous.”
Your head perked at the unexpectedly familiar voice, “Kakashi-senpai?”
The silver-haired settled himself in the opposite seat with ease, “Good morning, Y/N.”
“What are you doing here?” You did not bother to greet him back properly due to the tremendous shock being registered into your system.
“What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to… to,” you came to a halt, fumbling with the hem of your shirt when you found it impossible to continue. It was embarrassing.
“Blind date?” He questioned, quirking a brow.
Your cheeks heated up in modesty, unable to answer his beseech.
“That seems like a yes,” Kakashi leaned back, enjoying your flustered state, “I’m here for a blind date, too.”
“A what?”
“A blind date,” he repeated without failing to lose his composure.
It took you several seconds to comprehend the whole situation, then you shifted in your chair, propping your elbows onto the table to hide your blush, “This is such an… interesting encounter. But I won’t change my mind.”
You were fairly absolute with the plan to turn the whole thing down, despite whoever was your date, despite it being Kakashi Hatake. You did not want to risk the bond that took you so long to form with him and the trust that he enlisted you upon. You could not.
“I also came resolute,” he made a simple, yet down-to-earth statement. Kakashi caught your eyes and challenged, “What do you want to do after a coffee date?”
“No,” you jerked away, “what are you saying? Are you okay, senpai?”
“We’re on a date and you still call me senpai?”
“Look, we’re not going to do this, we can’t, Kakashi,” you tried to explain but to no avail.
The silver-haired smugly smiled, “Good, Kakashi sounds much nicer.”
“I’m not joking,” you cleared your throat and glared at him.
“Neither am I, Y/N. I mean it.”
Your lips fell apart as the coherence in your mind shattered into bits and pieces. Kakashi silently observed the fleeting expressions that you made, waiting for your response.
“I don’t know,” you stuttered. You knew who Kakashi was and the tragedy of your occupation. The two of you did not deserve anyone’s love, for once that you held the chance of breaking their heart. You looked away from his eyes to conceal the wavering of your emotions, “I never thought about life in that way. I don’t need a man in my life, that’s what I’d like to believe. I don’t want anyone to feel battered when I’m gone.”
“I hate it to see those I love cry and mourn, too,” he mumbled. You listened attentively as though it was yourself confessing to the dark. Kakashi continued, “I only live for a certain amount of time but I have been constantly filling it with despair and loneliness. There were things that I want to do and people that I want to love, but because of my fear of hurting them, I didn’t. But after the massive loss that I’ve experienced, everything was different, I understood how painful regret actually is.”
Tears began to well in your eyes the more his words dropped. You balled your fists, blinking profusely to prevent the warm droplets from escaping. Kakashi noticed your quiet sobs, running his fingers over your trembling hands, loosening your grip, and interlacing your fingers with his. You released a heavy sigh and pulled both your hands back, wiping away your tears as quickly as when they fell and dampened the fabric of your jeans.
“You’re not at the bottom of agony when you lose someone important,” Kakashi breathed, “it’s when you feel empty after they’ve left and mourning on what you could’ve done when they were still with you.”
Your sobs eventually assuaged as you chewed on his words. The silver-haired distracted himself by stirring the liquid of his drink, but he was in no state to enjoy its taste. He already said everything he wanted to say, and the decision was now fully on your shoulders. But by your lack of response, he was sure that you did not see your relationship taking another form—the way that he wished. He abruptly stood up from his seat, fleeting on his feet, “Let’s forget about what’s happened. I mean I still respect you as my teammate, Y/N. Don’t forget our meeting tomorrow.”
“No-no, Kakashi-senpai, wait,” you moved, hastily shoving your hands in his direction, gripping his wrist like a vice. You hung your head low to avoid his investigating gaze as you spoke, “I do.”
His gears in his head turned, and Kakashi smiled with satisfaction, “You do what?”
Your heart was beating frantically in your chest, so fast that you felt its rapid pumps in your throat. You stuttered out, voice growing quieter the more you expressed, “I-I want to go out with you, senpai—”
“Drop the ‘senpai’ already,” he playfully hissed and you grinned, certain that you just made the best choice of your life. Kakashi leaned down and rested his chin on your shoulder blade, snuggling his face into your neck, “Thank you, Y/N. Thank you for letting me love you.”

omg hi i know this request sounds a bit hefty but hear me out: you’ve got y/n, and you’ve got her twin. they’re both exchange students but their school somehow messed up the application or there wasn’t enough space in one school whatever, so one of them ends up in nekoma and the other in shiratorizawa. then, they each decide to be the managers of that school’s respective teams. and then when training camp comes up, they finally meet each other again and are happy to be together but the rest of the teams are SHOOK (including their own maybe 👀👀) bc they didn’t tell their teams they had a twin. bonus points, inarizaki is there and the miya twins try to flirt w them (ships are up to you bc tbh anything sounds fun asf, idk i’ve had this idea in my head for so long IM AN ONLY CHILD I DONT EVEN HAVE A TWIN FKDKSKSKS) idk if you wanna just do headcannons go for it babes it’s a lot i know lmaooo
This is genius!! Omg, I’m not a twin either but I’m VIBING with this idea — I did headcanons because there was so muuchhh. I hope you like 💕
(T/n) = twins (first) name
>>>>—————————>
(L/n) Twins going to seperate schools and reuniting during a Shiratorizawa vs Nekoma practice match and Nationals:
• Due to unfortunate circumstances, (L/n) (T/n) had gotten into Shiratorizawa however, her twin sister (L/n) (Y/n) had to attend another school - luckily Nekoma had last minute vacancies.
• You stayed in Tokyo whilst your twin lived in the Shiratorizawa Dorms, it made seeing each other tricky but you always had video chats and since you were identical, it was easy to sneak into the dorms and stay for the weekend.
• You both loved Volleyball and had looked into your respective teams, (T/n) having the more famous one begrudgingly but being siblings... things got competitive.
“I’m going to become the manager of Shiratorizawa and I’m gonna take them to Nationals~” Was your twins cheery statement, whilst you playfully taunted her.
“Hah, more like they’ll take you, if I join Nekoma I’ll actually be useful.”
“No way - I’m a better manager than you (Y/n)!”
“Oh yeah?! Bring it on (T/n)! I’ll see you at Nationals - if you make it!” Thus, the challenge had begun.
• Nekoma and yourself had bonded, you’d heard the same about (T/n) and Shiratorizawa, it was like fate had gifted you your perfect matches in the end. Even if it meant being separated.
• It was around your second year with them that you’d heard about Karasuno, the once- upon-a-time rivals of Nekoma and how they’d organised a practice game with them over in Miyagi.
• You’d be playing other teams in the district to make it more beneficial... which is where your scheming came in.
“Hey, Tetsurō Senpai...”
“What do you want, you’re only ever so cute when you want something from me.”
“That’s not true! (Y/n)-chan is cute all of the time!” Yamamoto playfully punched his Captains shoulder, the latter reluctantly agreeing with a flush before clearing his throat and gesturing for you to continue.
“Think we could play Shiratorizawa whilst we’re over in Miyagi?”
“I’ll talk to Coach Nekomata and see what I can do, no promises though (Y/n).” Kuroo would do his best, you knew he tried for those he cared about, especially his team.
• It was no surprise then, that within 3 days you’d received a call from your twin.
“You’re coming to challenge me and my team (Y/n)?” The excitement in her voice, as well as that in yours was clear.
“You can thank Kuroo for that — you’ll finally get to meet my team!”
“And you mine! Tendō and Ushijima are incredible, I love them.” You’d spoken of respective players, shared stories and felt like you already knew part of each other’s teams despite never meeting them.
“Yes! I can’t wait - Lev isn’t coming with us, but Kenma and Yaku more than make up for it!”
“Lev is that first year you told me about right? I hope you’re ready to lose (Y/n), Goshiki is talented as hell.”
“And Nekoma is a unified machine, you’ll need a tissue to wipe away your loser tears~”
• Fast forward to the training trip, and the second you walk into Shiratorizawa you and your twin immediately rush over to each other, a collision of hugs, screams and excited conversation exchanged amidst the suddenly silent room.
• Tendō is the one to separate you both, guiding you to stand side by side as he leans in to inspect you both with a finger on his chin.
“Well well well, seems our Chibi-chan has a Chibi-chan 2.0~”
Ushijima doesn’t seem all that phased by the phenomenon, meanwhile Shirabu had to restrain the awed interrogation of Goshiki.
• Nekoma weren’t quite as calm, immediately Tendō hopped out of the way as Yamamoto tackled you, gawking between you and (T/n) whilst Inuoka attempted to null his yells.
“(Y/n)?! THERES TWO OF YOU?! DOUBLE THE BEAUTY!”
“Aw he’s cute, my team are never so nice to me.” (T/n) tutted, a subtle glare sent to Shiratorizawa - Satori being the one to stick his tongue out.
“Trust me, Yamamoto is the only one.” Cue your mirroring glare sent to a scheming Kuroo, whilst Nekomas Ace is still gushing over the two of you.
• The teams are moderately amused once the game starts as the main smack-talkers are you and (T/n) hollering over the court as you’d reached the Third Set at a tie. Friendships between both teams were formed due to your family relations.
• It’s not until the game is over and the Captains shake hands whilst you two hug it out with congratulatory words and playful insults that they start messing around again.
“C’mon (Y/n), we’ve gotta go~” Kuroo smugly states, purposefully slinging an arm around (T/n)s’ shoulders and guiding her out.
Before you had the chance to retaliate, Tendō gladly joined in.
“The Cat Captain is right, I’ve missed my little kitten anyway~” The redhead cheerfully gave you a high ten, intertwining your fingers in the process adding intimacy and offered a mischievous wink which you only laugh at.
• Nekoma are freaking out, that’s their manager and they’d know if you had a boyfriend, right? Yaku and Kai are quick to hold back Yamamoto with Kuroo suddenly sweeping you away from Satori since Ushijima had already reclaimed (T/n).
“That’s our kitten- ah manager.”
“And (T/n) is ours, but I look forward to seeing you at Nationals Nekoma.” The Captains bid one another farewell and you can only hope to play your twins’ team again.
• Shiratorizawa didn’t make it to Nationals (since Karasuno beat them) but (T/n) wanted to come and support you (bitterly). Ushijima came with her too since he’s the Captain and wanted to keep you two out of trouble. Plus he loves Volleyball.
• It’s when you’re checking the matchups do you encounter your beloved rivals, whilst Nekoma were distracted you went to scope out the area. ‘Luckily’ for you, you bumped into other competitors, the blonde ‘accidentally’ tripping.
“Woah, are you okay-“ Before you could finish, he’d interrupted all suave.
“Yeah, I just fell for ya that’s all~“
“-send me a postcard next time~”
There was a moment of silence, you impressed by the smoothness and him awed by the sheer sarcasm.
• The boy introduced himself as Miya Atsumu, Inaruzakis Setter and took note of your Nekoma jacket, asking you to watch him play if you got the chance. Especially if you become opponents.
• Bidding farewell, you found (T/n) with a bright smile upon her face, Onigiri in hand.
“The games haven’t even started and you’re eating.” Was your bemused observation, your twin scoffing with an innocent pout.
“I was hungry, and this cute player from Inarizki recommended the teriyaki Onigiri here so I brought some, wanna try?” (T/n) justified, showing the item to you.
“I met an Inarizaki player too, and I’m too nervous to eat but thanks (T/n).”
“Suit yourself, good luck and I’ll look for you later.” She rejoined Ushijima, the pair waving as you met up with Nekoma.
• It isn’t until after the first round beating Kiyokawa High School, before the Karasuno vs Inarizaki game that you’d encounter the Miyas again — or rather Atsumu approached (T/n).
“Yer scoping out the competition huh gorgeous? I don’t blame ya (L/n), ‘Samu and I are the best of the best.” The blonde proudly told (T/n), thinking you’d shed your Nekoma jacket to be inconspicuous.
“I— I don’t even know you? Wait, how do you know my name?!”
• Osamu meets the pair, and actually thinks it through, Atsumu on the other hand jumps to conclusions.
“We just saw eac-“ Hearing (T/n), Atsumu was quick to argue but Osamu kicked his calve.
“Shut it dumbass.”
“Hey, loser twin!” You called over, gaining the attention of her and the Miya Twins.
“Ah... ‘Samu there’s two of them...”
“That’s what I was gonna tell ya.”
• It must’ve been a twin instinct (twinstinct hehe) but yourself and Osamu could tell the individual differences/quirks immediately, hence how he’d figured it out so quickly. A mutual smile was shared as your respective twins continued their petty insults.
• “(T/n)! Ushijima is looking for you and I need to find Kuroo so...”
“Oh, yer boyfriends?”
“Uh - aha -no no, our Captains.” Your twin managed, flustered and embarrassed - you were glad she’d spoken because you were no better with the heat on your skin.
“Perfect, tell your Captains’ that we’re not sorry for keeping you~” Atsumu shouted as you both waved goodbye and headed back to the stands/courts.
• Nekoma won against Sarukawa Tech High, your next opponents currently battling it out on the court which you’d all raced to see - mainly for Karasuno.
But it was during the break after the first set that the twins approached the stands, well, you.
“(Y/n), ya won?” It was brave of Osamu to address you so casually but you didn’t mind.
“Of course, my team, my friends, are truly amazing. Our next opponent is either Karasuno or you.”
“You’ll be facing me- us- Inarizaki! Don’t you worry sweetheart.” It seemed whatever suaveness Atsumu once had was long gone by now.
• They played incredibly, but the entirety of Nekoma were glad of Karasunos’ victory, you’d taken a second to see the twins though.
“You were amazing, I’m grateful I got to see you both play. Looks like you won’t be facing me after all, sweetheart~”
“Yeah well- I— jus’ watch yer back next year beautiful. I’m comin’ for ya.”
“OHO! NOT ON MY WATCH PRETTY BOYS!”
“Yamamoto! Apologies for him.” Yaku forced the Mohawk to bow, Kuroo slipping an arm around your waist with a smirk. “But he’s not wrong.”
• You were staying with (T/n) for the weekend, utilising Shiratorizawas practice break to tell the tale of the Miyas and their flirting. The team were oddly protective over the both of you, but you hadn’t the time to question it with Goshikis inquiry.
“Okay, so if you two had children with the Miya twins respectively... would your children be identical?”
“...”
“...”
“We won’t have to find out.” If anyone else had said it you wouldn’t have believed them, but something about the certainty of Wakatoshi made you both smile.

Cater Pre-Relationship Headcanons ♦️🧡
- Prefect! You’re so adorable!~ *。٩(ˊωˋ*)و✧*。
- Oh you’re gonna give this boy ✨ 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓯𝓾𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷 ✨
- The first time you both meet is when you were helping ADeuce with painting the roses red in Heartslabyl
- However the first time you both actually started to conversate with eachother was when you both were sitting together with ADeuce and Trey during the first week of attending NRC
- He’s going to want to talk to you about the social media platforms you use in comparison to Twisted Wonderland
- Obviously, his favorite is Magicam! ヽ(´▽`)/
✨✨✨✨
- And then you both go off from there :,)
- He’s actually really touchy with you, but unlike Floyd, he’s not going to be around your shoulder 25/8
- If the opportunity is given, he might take you outside of NRC and take you to some really nice cafe’s around Land of Pyroxene.
- He’s also! Going to! Post a shit ton of pictures! Of you doing cute things together! 🥰🥰🥰
- You two end up becoming one of the most envied people on Magicam and at NRC because of how cute of a couple you are together 😻😻😻😻 (not that Cater wouldn’t mind~ ❤️)
Now for the serious stuff:
- This would be around the time Cater is feeling really down. This poor boy feels rather lonely with the exception of Trey or anyone in Heartslabyl because he doesn’t think anyone is going to want to have a “serious” bond with him ;-;
- Also, I feel like he would be surprised with how genuine you are with your words and actions. Not a lot of people in his life have actually “caught his interest” because the acquaintances he’s made have been from a ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis, if you know what I mean.
- When this boy does realize he has feelings for you he’s probably going to feel some sort of dread knowing that you’re probably going to leave and become nothing but a memory to him.
That’s how it’s always been.
AWA! But Cate-Kun likes his little freshman too much!!~ He wants you all for himself~
☆*:.。.O(≧∇≦)O.。.:*☆
(The excessive use of emotes and emojis are a DEAD giveaway that he’s feeling awfully down)
- Again, he’s at war with himself
- You’ll notice that he’s hiding is actual feelings are whenever the topic of family comes up or when you both are talking about childhood
- It’s pretty clear that he gets a little envious of people who have a good relationship with their families or friends and wants what every person wants ;-;
- Observe his eyes! Like the emotes and emojis, those are dead giveaways to his actual feelings too!
- You bring this matter up to Trey, who’ll privately tell you about what’s going on what Cater- if he trusts you enough, that is.
- When you both finally get closer, you’re going to finally text him to meet you up in the botanical gardens
- He thinks you’re sus 👀👀👀👀
- You’re going to have to reassure him that he isn’t in trouble and that you wanted to talk to you beloved Senpai
- When you both meet and you decide to talk about his feelings, he tries really hard to disregard what your saying and tell you that Senpai is a-okay! ☆ |(◕‿◕)|
“Seriously (y/n)-chan! Your super cool upperclassman Cate-Kun is just fine!!!”
But you both knew better.
You are going to have to gently hold his face while you look him in the eye and pour yourself out to him.
He’s going to try and use every excuse in the book to try to ignore the fact that he’s been like this: this- sadden, lonely, boring person that nobody would want to engage with.
Depending on how intense the whole situation is, he might argue with you and ahead a few tears or so. He’s not used to this sort of attention, especially from you.
Nobody cares about who he was before and nobody is going to care about who he is now. Nobody has been willing wanting to understand his meaningless and good-for-nothing feelings, so why should you? It’s all about the fame, popularity and money is Cater’s eyes.
In Cater’s case: It’s all about the destination, never the journey.
- You might seriously want to knock Cater down a peg and calm him down.
- Honestly, he seems like the type to get into a panic attack when he talks about his feelings to you, because he’s never been able to properly express his feelings to anyone other than maybe Trey (that we know of)
- You can tell that he’s really troubled. So before you decide to engage in anymore conversation, you pull him into a tight hug.
- He doesn’t hug back at first, but after you tell him that you’re going to be by his side whether he likes it or not, he’s going to return the gesture tenfold
- He buries his head into your neck just...cuddles you
- You feel wet spots starting to form at the collar of your shirt where he’s laying but you ignore it
- That evening, you get a really heartfelt text from him thanking you and appreciating your company ❤️
-You’d have to thank Trey the next day for his help too :,)

stress relief, kenma kozume.
Tumblr media
synopsis: after a rough day at work, kenma wants to try something new that might benefit the both of you.
warnings: titty sucking, handjob, cum eating <3
[a/n]: this is my first and last time writing nsfw content LOL. also did not proofread my bad bros😔
Things were eerily quiet without Kenma around.
Well, to be quite honest, things would still be quiet even if Kenma were in your shared apartment. But at least you’d here the clicking of his controller or the soft grunts of discontent that came with him playing his games. It was odd how he barely made a sound when playing, only opening his mouth to give a command or plan an attack with his team. Most guys you knew yelled at the top of their lungs, followed by insults and curses that left you wondering how someone could ever talk to another human being with such venom.
Maybe that’s what drew you to him back in highschool. His shy demeanor. Always cool, calm, and collected. Nothing like Kuroo, the brash and loud hyena-laughing third year who’d introduced the two of you to eachother.
Kuroo and you, despite being a grade level apart, had been placed into the same chemistry class. The two of you bonded over the fact that none of your friends had shared your wits, so you decided to be lab partners for the rest of the year. There was something about your persona that drew you to him, you were so welcoming and inviting and comfortable. Just the perfect person to get Kenma out of his shell, he thought.
So, one day, he invited you to his house (which at first caused you to raise a brow, you were just school friends, right?) to study for an upcoming exam. He was easily the smartest person in the class, but you took this as an opportunity to catch up to your senpai. Unknown to you, he had also invited Kenma to play COD, which lead you to come face to face with a cute boy with cat-like eyes that you would end up falling for.
That lead you here, sprawled out on your couch clad in boxer shorts and a hoodie, lazily scanning your eyes across a copy of The Awakening. Today was your off day from work which you’d hoped to spend with Kenma, but as you two were cuddling, he received an urgent phone call that left you cold and alone in bed. All you could do now was patiently wait for your boyfriend to come home.
As if on cue, you could hear the light tinkling of keys and the click of your front door. The creaking sound it emitted caused you to cringe (but you left a mental note to get that fixed soon) and place down your book.
“Hey honey, how was work?” You called, fitting your chin in between your knees. You wrapped your arms around your legs, squeezing them closer to your chest.
Kenma swiftly closed the door, shrugged off his coat, and slung it onto the floor all in one breath. He was visibly tense and irritation flooded his eyes. Sighing, you picked your book back up and payed him no mind.
Though your relationship with Kenma was amazing, it was far from perfect. He was sweet and attentive (to an extent) but he had trouble communicating himself. You could barely read him as he often showed no emotion. And when he did, he barely liked to talk about it. It was probably the only thing about him that bothered you.
You heard the creaking of the floorboards as he walked past you and into your shared bedroom, along with a deep sigh and the shuffling of feet. The only thing you could do right now was wait it out and hope he’d come to you.
The stress of being a CEO, Youtuber, pro-gamer, and stock trader was larger than you could imagine. Kenma was always up late nights, often on the phone or on his PC, discussing with other board members or filming a video. But he never once complained, which both worried you and caused your heart to swell. He was always independent like that, but it also wasn’t healthy to keep things inside all the time. You wanted to be the shoulder he could lean on, just like he was for you.
As your focus shifted from your thoughts to the book in your hands, you felt the a weight drop down beside you. You stopped yourself from jumping when you realized that it was just Kenma. Fuck, you thought. He really is like a cat. I barely even noticed him. Instead of the suit he was wearing when he walked in, he was sporting a pair of gray sweatpants and a plan white tee. Once again, you placed down your book (would you ever finish it?) and faced towards him.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” You whispered, taking one of his hands and rubbing soothing circled with your thumb.
He shook his head, no. “Rough day at work,” he mumbled, his raspy voice causing a smile to form on your lips. “Make it better?”
Now it was your turn to sigh as you enveloped him in your arms. Kenma places himself in your lap, almost like a child, legs squeezing around your waist and arms encircling your neck. He pressed his face into the crook of your neck, adjusting his body as to not hurt you. Gently, you placed your hand on his head, raking your fingers through his bleach-blonde hair.
What Kenma lacked in words, he made up for in touch.
Whether it was a hand on your thigh, a leg on your lap, an arm around your waist, or his head on your shoulder, Kenma was always touching you as to remind you that he was present. Instead of a simple ‘hey’ he’d press his lips against your cheek or wrap you up in his arms. It was cute, and the first time he’d greeted you with a hug and a kiss you almost melted on the spot.
The innocent embrace between you two was cut short by the sound of sucking and slurping ringing through your ears. You let out a sharp gasp, your breathing halting for a second. Kenma, without warning, had begun to leave wet, open-mouthed kisses in the crook of your neck. The hand that had been gently placed in his hair was now gripping onto the strands in shock.
The sounds ceased completely as Kenma pulled away to look into your eyes, a string of spit following in tow. It was only then you noticed the pool of saliva on your neck, reaching your hands to touch the dampened skin.
“Sorry, was that ok?” He whispered, suddenly shy.
That was more than ok.
“Uh, yeah that was o-it was nice...I liked it.” You affirmed, scratching the back of your neck.
What had come over him? Usually it was you that had initiated anything sexual between the two of you. Kenma was rather low-maifnence in that aspect of your relationship, and never asked you to do anything or even hinted at it. Sometimes it felt like the only reason the two of you had sex was because you wanted it. He seemed indifferent to the whole ordeal. But now he was suddenly attacking your neck unprompted. You were kind of thankful for it, honestly.
“I-Is it ok if I tried something?”
His eyes flickered to yours, a hopeful glint in them. He had placed his hands between his thighs, gently rocking back and forth as if he were nervous. You held back a laugh as to not embarrass him. He was adorable.
“Yeah,” you nodded. “Go ahead.”
The rocking subsided as he let both sides of his lips turn upwards in a shy smile. He removed his hands from his legs, letting himself reach up to the hem of your sweatshirt. Slowly yet with anticipation he lifted your sweatshirt over your head, tossing them to the side with ease. The removal had left your hair parting in several directions, which caused you to chuckle and smooth it down.
A sharp intake of breath caught your attention as Kenma’s eyes bored into your bare chest. It was as if he was shocked that you weren’t wearing a bra. You watched in anticipation as he brought his right hand to caress your left breast, thumb lightly ghosting your nipple. It was your turn to inhale as the touch caused you to jolt upwards and lean into him. He smiled, that was the reaction he was looking for.
“Your tits are so pretty, baby. Soft...” The compliment sent waves of heat through your body.
Kenma let his thumb press circles into your soft nipple which was beginning to harden due to his intimate touch. Before you could urge him to do something, anything, he opened his mouth and let his mouth go to work on your breast. His tongue licked around the hardened bud, letting out a content sigh. He seemed to be enjoying this just as much as you were.
A soft moan escaped your lips as you pressed his face even closer to your tits. He sucked harshly, as if trying to milk you. Immediately, you bit your lip to stop yourself from making any more noise, almost embarrassed at how easily Kenma affected you.
He continued to suckle on your breast, even lightly nibbling it, as if begging you to make some sort of noise. The lewdness of him sloppily sucking on your skin shot arousal straight to your core.
He let his hand trail to your other breast, groping it with a rather strong grip before lazily giving you a squeeze here and there. A substantial amount of drool dribbled down the sides of his chin as his tongue swirled around your nipple. “I...I’m getting...hard...”
You hadn’t realized that your eyes were rolling into the back of your head until they began to unblur. Kenma has detached himself from your chest with a small ‘pop’ and was wiping his lips with his forearms. Your eyes trailed to his crotch, biting your lip at the darkened spot of his sweatpants. The faint bulge caused heat to pool in your lower stomach.
“Um, could you maybe... give me a–uh–handjob while I’m... doing this?”
You giggled, nodding feverently. He smiled nervously at you, avoiding all eye contact. Growing impatient, you gestured for him to get up, to which he obeyed. You snaked his sweatpants down, letting them fall to his feet, and did the same with his boxers. You bit your lip once again when his cock sprang free from the confines of his undergarments, slapping against his stomach.
“C’mere,” you whispered, guiding him back into your lap. Before he could continue his assault on your tits, you wet your hands with a generous amount of your saliva, licking it from the beginning of your wrist to the ends of your fingers. Then, you masterfully wrapped your fingers around his cock, ensuring that its entirety was covered in the sticky substance.
“Ah–” Kenma whined at the touch, arching his body into your hand. In order to keep himself preoccupied, he gripped your left breast and paid special attention to the one he left untouched.
As he licked and sucked on your breast, you went to work. His cock had stiffened in your grip, his thick veins almost protruding. You reached for his balls, light massaging them with your fingers, earning a groan into your chest. Smiling to yourself, you lightly grazed the area between his testicles, knowing how sensitive it was. His breath hitched in his throat, and once you were satisfied with the noises Kenma was making, you moved onto his length.
The tips of your fingers lightly scratched along his hardened cock, teasing his sensitive state. You continued the teasing with soft, slow strokes along his shaft, making sure you didn’t apply to much pressure and have him finish early (which happened quite a bit, to his embarrasment).
Your hand momentarily froze when you heard Kenma’s soft moans. How is it possible for a man to have such a pretty moan? The noises that Kenma made were heavenly. Whether it be a mewl or a groan, it always left you wanting more.
“Mm, keep going p-please.”
The request brought you out of your trance like state as you returned your attention to the task at hand. The tip of his cock was a flaring red, pre-cum beginning to spout out. You fisted the middle of his cock, spreading the fluid around.
Your focus on his length had almost blinded you to the fact that he was sucking on your tits. You jolted in surprise when he bit on your supple flesh. You could feel him smiling against you, reveling in the fact that he had elicited such a reaction from you. Two could play at that game.
With your nimble fingers, you slowly pumped his sensitive length, making sure to not apply too much pressure. The movement caused him to whimper and suck even harsher on your bare breast. You grasped his cock, making up and down movements starting from the base and moved up to the shaft , simultaneously rubbing your thumb over his slit.
“Mmf,” Kenma whimpered, his voice muffled by your skin. “Feels so good. You’re too good to me, baby.”
Pride filled in your chest at his words of encouragement. You decided to pick up the pace. Your grip around him strengthened, as did your rythym. As you built up a faster pace, so did he. The puckering sound that filled your apartment only got louder as Kenma violently sucked on your soft skin.
The lewd sound of slurping, sucking, and slapping of skin surrounded the two of you as you violently jerked his cock in fluid motions.
“Keep going, I-I’m almost there.” Kenma griped, no, whined, into you.
“You’re doing so well, Kenma, aren’t you? Your words caused him to bob his head up and down. “Don’t hold back.”
The pressure on his cock didn’t cease as you continued your pace, losing yourself in the bliss of it all. You could feel the heat practically radiating off of him as ceased his sucking and fell into your body in exhaustion.
“I’m gonna...I’m gonna–” His warning fell on deaf ears as you continued pumping him. His whines grew louder and urgent. You loved how vocal he was during times like this.
Suddenly, thick ropes of cum spurted from his cock, staining your soft, silky hands. Kenma was a tired mess, sweat sticking to his white shirt as he heaved and groaned.
The same eery silence from before attempted to creep back, but was warded off by the exhausted groans of your boyfriend.
“Feeling better?” You teased, poking at his side with your clean hand.
He scoffed in disbelief before letting out a small chuckle. “Yeah, much.”
“Good,” you playfully retorted. “Or else I’d have cum on my hand for no fucking reason at all.”
At the mention of his cum, Kenma’s face flushed. He didn’t notice the substance on your hand and immediately got up and began putting on his pants.
“I’ll get you a towe-”
Before he could finish the sentence, you were already lapping up the milky, almost translucent substance with your tongue. You licked up your forearm, catching the stray that had dribbled down. Then, you slurped the majority of it which had gathered in your palm. And finally, you sucked on your fingers, giving a few kitten licks here and there to ensure that you’d gotten it all.
“No need! Got it all. See?” You grinned brightly at him, showing him your clean hand before wiping it on your shorts. “Aww Kenma, your face is all red! Did I embarrass you? C’mere so I can pinch your cheeks!”
“Shut up!” He groaned, attempting to run away but failing to do so due to his pants being at his feet. “Get away from me!”

Haunting Polyphony
“What songs are you good at, Hiro?”
Ruri’s inquiry was a fairly mundane and innocuous one, but it reminded Hiro of his ever continuous struggle with his voice.
The transmasc struggling-with-your-voice experience. Covers events of Ghost Game’s 6th episode. Word count: 867.
Digimon have no gender, so I'm using it/its for Sirenmon in this one.
The tittle is a reference to Sirenmon's soprano vocal attack being called "polyphony".
Comments appreciated.
“What songs are you good at, Hiro?”
Ruri’s inquiry was a fairly mundane and innocuous one, but it reminded Hiro of his ever continuous struggle with his voice. He trained everyday: feet together and heels and neck pressed back against a wall in his dorm room, back straight. He’d speak for as long as he could, making sure his enunciation was clear and feeling the effort in his throat as the itch started. He tried his best not to push it, but he often would wind up with a bit of a sore throat and a slight hoarseness to his voice that wasn’t all that bad at all, sound wise at least.
“I don’t really sing,” Hiro admitted sheepishly.
“Won’t you sing, Amanokawa-kun?” His senpai pleaded while they were comfortably lounging in the karaoke booth, waiting for Ruri to lure the ghost.
Not for lack of trying, though. Diligent as ever, he had signed up for the choir trials back when the school year had begun. He needed something to focus on since his no-good father had gone missing in one of his experiments; working on his voice had clear steps forward and gains— at least, Hiro hoped it’d indeed make him feel more at ease and confident. Ultimately, however, the choir had turned out to be ill-fitting for this project. Not only Hiro found the ricocheting of vocalizations overwhelming to the point of threatening to reduce him to tears—he also realized projecting his voice to sing brought up a thin soprano quality out of it that made him queasy. Counterproductive as it was, he always tried to hold his voice back, as if it’d somehow keep it from sounding as high as it was. It made him even more off-key than he already, naturally was. Hiro didn’t think he had it in him to correct it, so he stopped going. He gave up on singing ever since.
It struck Hiro as amusing. Kiyoshiro seemed to have a bias for him when it came to asking for help. Hiro didn’t know what made him think his singing would be soothing, but it was a nice thought. It made him muse about how one’s voice is an innate instrument, and how music is part of humans' natural form of expression. How the impulse to play with it and sing was natural and fundamental to the bonding experiences of lots of people—mostly hearing ones— around the globe. It made him wish he could partake in such joys more openly. Unabashedly. Maybe someday he’ll figure it out.
After rescuing Ruri, the plan to trap Sirenmon began. With some luck, they’d be able to figure out the reason behind its actions. Digimon could be quite troublesome, but Hiro couldn’t blame them—being in a strange new world, away from home. Most of them were open to listen and be reasoned with. It was always a relief to be able to settle matters amicably.
‘Are you the ones who took away everyone’s chance to hear my song?!’
‘This is rather small for a recital hall!’
‘My song will never end!’
‘I doubt you could sing as wonderfully!’
The common thread through Sirenmon’s reasoning seemed to want to be heard —and adored. Hiro should’ve seen it coming, with that of it being the diva of the digital world. Wanting appreciation for your performance was all well and good, but it seemed to be completely incapable of understanding the real effects its singing had on others. If only there was a way for Hiro to make it understand…
His heart drummed in his ears as he watched Sirenmon get ready to unleash an even stronger wave of sonic aggression. He wracked his brain for any eloquent arguments, any conciliatory negotiation, anything, anything he could say to reach Sirenmon and stop it from harming BetelGammamon and Angoramon beyond repair. If mere words were not enough, then…
With his palpitating throat, Hiro drew a deep breath and straightened up his back—“If you want to find a rainbow, you must lift your face,” his voice cracked and was terribly off-beat, but Hiro pressed on, trying to convey his pleas and hopes to Sirenmon. “The hands that reached out to us!” Hiro was very nearly shouting at this point, “MAKE US MUCH STRONGER!” His voice broke in a particularly jarring way in this long note. “TRY AND TAKE IT, BECAUSE SURELY YOU CAN FLY NOW!”
Hiro sighed. Had Sirenmon understood what it meant to try to reach others? He had tried his best to convey it, despite his shoddy skill and queasiness. He didn’t sound good by any measure, not a technical one, and less so a personal one, but surely, all that mattered were the emotions behind it.
“What a wonderful song, I’m so moved!" Sirenmon cooed.
Hiro’s mouth was pressed into a squiggly yet relieved smile.
“Wonderful songs are moving and make you happy,” it surprised him to hear himself say that. Maybe, even if he’s still got a long road ahead to get comfortable with his own voice, that alone is enough: to sing his heart out—even if it takes him a while to be able to share it with others.

Fall 2020 Anime Overview
I started out watching the a ton of anime for the Fall 2020 season, but then ended up not being caught up with most of them by the the time the end rolled around. I still pretty much intend to catch up with Yashahime Princess Half Demon someday (I do like the three leads, it just the plot’s been dull as dirt and the fights aren’t very inspired either) and though I dropped Wandering Witch after bad press started rolling in (I CANNOT deal with pointless tragedy in my current state of mind) I might check out a few more episodes someday just to from my own opinion. For now, let’s just quickly review the anime I DID manage to finish on time this season.
Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle
Tumblr media
Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle is exactly what it says on the tin: Princess Syalis isn’t too bothered about being captured by demons and locked in their castle, but she does value a good night’s sleep, and she is absolutely ruthless when it comes to getting it- so ruthless, in fact, that the demons realized it might not be that she’s trapped in here with them, but that they’re trapped in here with her.
Sleepy Princess is top tier comedy comfort food. It rarely got a huge belly laugh, but it always but a smile on my face and was a great thing to watch before going to bed. Syalis’s single-minded search for some shut eye is a joke that could have gotten old very quickly, but the show consistently found creative ways to expand on the gags and build it’s world and a fun cast of characters along the way.
Though Syalis is downright brutal to the demons when it comes to getting what she wants (and has a knack for getting herself killed at well), thanks to a demon cleric that offers easy resurrections, you never feel too bad for anyone involved. In fact, the demons and Syalis form a strangely heartwarming bond over the course of the show , and it’s clear by the end that Syalis definitely has the ability to come and go if she damn well pleases and just finds this castle a fun place where she can find respite from her princessly responsibilities.
A nice bonus for those of us who like a little subversion is that the show has a lot of fun playing with standard adventure tropes- the demons often lament that Syalis is not at all what they expected from a captive princess, for one, but my favorite fun little twist is how Syalis feels about the hero currently on a (seemingly endless) quest to rescue her- she manages to both hold him in contempt AND consistently fail to remember his name. That level of disregard takes some impressive effort.
The show has the same director as the Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun anime and as such has a similarly nice comic and visual flourishes throughout. It definitely gets two sleepy thumbs up for me.
Jujutsu Kaisen
Tumblr media
Jujutsu Kaisen follows a young man named Yuuji Itadori who, after tangling with a demon, ends up with one inside him. With a death sentence hanging over his head, he’s inducted into a school for “jujutsu sorcerers”, and begins training to use his newfound powers to defeat demons and curses.
Jujutsu Kaisen quickly tells you on no uncertain terms it is Action Shonen, introducing a huge cast of a characters and powers and super high stakes and hey there’s even gonna be a tournament arc soon. It is really, really pretty to look at, with a killer opening and ending, some seriously great animation and cool visuals for the fights especially. But is it particularly memorable otherwise? Noooooot really, so far. The sea of technobabble it tends to descend into when trying to explain how the various powers work often has me zoning out and wishing they’d just let me watch the pretty punches. The villains and the general plot isn’t particularly compelling. The characters are nice enough, but haven’t given me much to be attached to so far. Though I do appreciate this one dude who is the embodiment of millennial ennui:
Tumblr media
I’ll keep watching though, because it is a visually stunning, action-y thing to my turn your brain off to and god knows I want to turn my brain off all the time lately.
And the characters do have potential- the One Girl of the main group, Nobara, has a really fun personality in that she’s a total shitlord doofus brawler who can thus doof around with our equally dumbass protagonist, which is an pretty fun, unusual personality for the One Girl to have! Her interactions with Maki, the weapons expert senpai girl, are promising too. I’m just waiting for her to actually, you know, DO something that really shows off her skills- I’m told she DOES eventually get to (gasp) win fights on her own and do cool stuff, but so far show has kind at that of failed miserably and underused her like most action shonen underuse their girls. Plus, taking Yuuji out of the group for such a long stretch seems like a weird choice, we’ve been deprived really seeing him for relationships with his peers. The pacing seems off. But maybe the upcoming tournament arc will make up for that and actually be worthwhile!
Talentless Nana
Tumblr media
In a world where kids with superpowers are sent to island schools to fight mysterious “enemies of humanity”, one class of such kids is thrown into chaos when they find themselves targeted by a deadly force.
It’s pretty much impossible to talk about Talentless Nana without discussing how it deviates dramatically from what its premise appears to be in episode one, so I’ll just say if you like stories with superpowers and intrigue, you should definitely sit through that first episode and see if the plot that’s eventually revealed is something that you’re here for. But if you want to avoid spoilers, DON’T GO BELOW THE CUT, because I’m about to get very spoilery.
Basically, Talentless Nana pulls a bait and switch, starting it’s first episode posing as generic superhero anime where the protagonist appears to be your standard meek-but-powerful anime boy (Nanao) who just needs some support and encouragement from a pink haired mind reading manic pixie dream girl (Nana) to unlock his self-confidence and ~true power~ (ugh)...only to take SHARP swerve when  Nana ruthlessly murders Nanao and reveals she’s been sent by the government to take out the superpowered kids one by one because THEY are the considered the true enemies of humanity. Oh, and she doesn’t have any superpowers, or “talents”- she was just able to sus out everything Nanao was thinking through basic deductive reasoning because he was so flippin’ obvious and basic.
Tumblr media
As my love for a certain character in a certain game may have clued people into, I am ALWAYS delighted when what appears to be a generic, underwritten girlfriend character is then revealed to be an interesting, ruthless mastermind. And having an anime appear to be about a bland boy with a Dream Girlfriend but then actually turn into a show about a deeply cynical, morally dubious girl who’s clearly holding down a lot of messy feelings as she considers everyone her enemy...well, it may be a cheap trick to some, but it also feels a little bit like justice for all the underwritten female characters sacrificed to bland male leads. It’s still rare enough that I dig it when it happens. And the metatext of Nana zeroing in on this kid as the most standard of main character boys, assessing him as the biggest threat because of it and knowing the perfect way to take him out, is pretty inherently funny to me.
But if the show JUST banked on that twist and was about Nana brutally and cynically slaughtering these kids, it would get boring quickly and Nana would be a bland character herself. Fortunately, it doesn’t go that route. Nana struggles and grows a lot over the course of the show. She finds opposition in transfer student Kyoya, a stoic (and socially awkward) young man who pretty quickly becomes suspicious of her. A lot of the tension from the early episodes comes from her sweating as she tries to outmaneuver him and she makes plenty of mistakes along the way. She also slowly but surely starts to question her mission, and we get an idea of her backstory and how the government specifically has groomed her into believing people with powers to be evil. That belief is one that’s challenged by her friendship with another girl, and it’s pretty rewarding to watch Nana’s feelings and world expand little by little.
Tumblr media
The show is definitely a little schlocky-some of the plots (as well as the general premise of the government thinking this is the optimal way to get rid of their superpowered kids problem) fall apart if you think too much about them, and some of the kids Nana goes up against are sleazy and unlikeable in over the top ways (which makes it easy for her to stick to her convictions all these kids deserve to die at first). In particular, I have to give a heads up for some sleazy guys doing and saying sleazy things, though the show never gets too overbearing or graphic with it (and the gore is generally PG-13 level as well).
Basically. There are some truly ridiculous happenings in this show. But how ridiculous and pulpy and over the top it is can be part of the appeal, and it’s fun to just sit back and watch the spectacle of Nana and her peers head-scratching machinations.
Tumblr media
So, while certainly not an anime with airtight construction or flawless quality and depth, I found Nana an overall entertaining watch, especially as a fan of cat-and-mouse murder-y shenanigans, and thought it has a very compelling main character and managed to end on a heartwrenching (but earned) note. I definitely wouldn’t say no to a second season and would be interested to see where things go from here.

Female Border agents reacting to Osamus mom looking so young and her intense personality.
Chika has known Osamu's mom since she was a toddler getting brought over by her brother for playdates. she keeps score of how many times the extended Mikumo family (you can't tell me this shit's not genetic. in the cracky mad science au i have on ao3 osamu's family reproduces exclusively by cloning and has since 1790. don't ask me how that works tho.) gets mistaken for a group of teenagers in states ranging from "confused" to "murderous".
Shiori thinks that this is a hilarious situation. she rescinds that opinion when kasumi threatens someone with a folding police baton that she pulled out of her purse, which really did not look big enough for that.
Konami was also there for the folding baton incident. She has decided that she should get one, prompting a complicated series of weapons trades between both Mikumos*, Yuma, Chika**, herself, and this dude who was seven feet tall and had a trunk filled with illegal fireworks. it was rad.
Izuho recognizes her from her dojo's annual karate tournnament, at which she beat up three quarters of the dojo and then annnounnced that she had to go home because her Crock-Pot was done. she challenges her to a spar. izuho loses.
Kitora decides that this explains some things and then also that she doesn't really care.
Bonus:
she shares a single nod with Karasawa. he trembles in fear, having read her Public Security profile.
*you cannot tell me that someone raised by kasumi mikumo does not own at the very least a few knives and maybe a taser.
**formative influences. 'nuff said.

dude....I love world trigger so much I’ll take like any content. uh uh where do you think tamakoma-2 likes to hang out? whats their fav snacks? do you think that hyuse gets forcefully group hugged/dragged into doing team-bonding stuff bc he seems pretty distant? yo does he try to learn how to cook and help osamu, yuma, and chika cook for their senpais? I’ll also take any yuma headcanons no matter how irrelevant bc I love him. you dont have to answer all of these, but I’d love to hear your thoughts! thank you so much, and hope you have a nice week :)))
OH KAY, THANK YOU FOR ASKING ABOUT MY FAVORITE THING EVER, I LOVE YOU IN A PLATONIC AND APPROPRIATE WAY, HALF OF THIS IS GONNA BE BACKSTORY BECAUSE I HAVE A LOT OF HEADCANONS ABOUT THESE FICTIONAL PEOPLE THANKS
where do you think tamakoma-2 likes to hang out?
·     Places with like…. A ton of cheap food. Like, you know those places where you can get $1 pizza slices, and they’re tiny and the oven looks like it was last washed in 1987 and there’s that indescribable smell you only get in tiny pizza places in the Mission? And Blue Monday is playing on the sound system constantly and you can’t see the walls because they’re covered in posters for famous punk bands? Those places. There is so much cheap pizza being consumed.
·     In the summer, when it gets hot, Osamu drags them to the local art museum because A) air-conditioned, B) lots of art museums let you in free if you’re under 18, and C) you can’t tell me a boy who has “bridges” under his likes won’t have Opinions on Brutalism, the Bauhaus movement, etc. Hyuse finds that he really likes Anselm Kiefer and Jackson Pollock, Yuma and Chika stare at Warhol and sixties pop art, Chika and Osamu get into a detailed theoretical debate about Dadaism vs Cubism while having to explain Guernica to two neighbors. Hyuse discovers Ukiyo-E and Impressionism and tries to combine the two in watercolor. They all spend an hour staring at pottery.
·     Once they went to paintball. Chika won and they are now banned from the paintball range.
What’s their fav snacks?
·     Osamu: A fucking nerd who eats Literally Any fruit or vegetable as a snack. Once he ate an onion like an apple. However, if you were to set him loose in a grocery store, saying to pick whatever he wanted? Hope you like paying for $60 worth of berries and fancy cheese.
·     Chika: Omnivorous. Will steal Osamu’s fancy-ass cheese, but draws the line at fish anything. Considers a full pizza a “snack” yet is still not taller that four foot seven. She has an insane metabolism because of how much Trion she has, not to mention her two side-effects.
·     Yuma: Fuck you, society, thinks Yuma, consuming a full pound of raw beef at 4 am. He eats full cuts of raw meat because he craves iron constantly. About once a week someone will come on the roof to see him consuming a cow liver like a taco.
·     Hyuse: is a normal person who eats potato chips dipped in Nutella, plus whatever Yotaro offers him. Has a sweet tooth.
do you think that hyuse gets forcefully group hugged/dragged into doing team-bonding stuff bc he seems pretty distant?
·      Soooooo this ties into my giant-ass headcanon about how this team formed into an actual cohesive unit.
·      To quote a thing I wrote on discord: I have Thoughts on how Rinji and osamu and chika used to work and how that fucks tk2 up as a unit because Osamu and Chika are used to having a completely different dynamic when they were cooperating on something and now that's gone and they're both overcompensating, but Osamu's overcompensating by trying to fill Rinji’s role as leader and Chika is overcompensating by playing into her image of being weaker than she actually is, and Yuma is there, and Osamu and Chika love Yuma as a friend but aren't used to having to cooperate with him, and Osamu's not used to having to be a leader, so he makes a lot of bad calls because he's thinking about what Rinji would do instead of what's the best call to make in that situation, and Hyuse arriving is making this better because now Osamu has actual pushback on his decisions instead of thinking "What Would Rinji Do" about literally all his strategies, and Hyuse also calls Chika out on her reluctance to use her full strength, and it's helping them as a team but the dynamic Chika and Osamu are used to having is now irreparably destroyed, and it's not going to work when they see Rinji again, and that's going to turn out badly for everyone involved.
·     Here goes: Osamu and Chika were pretty much the OG team before either of them joined BORDER, in that they were pretty much the only ones who knew that Rinji wasn’t dead and where he went. They tried to tell their parents, who didn’t believe them.
·     So because of that, they spent six months working together to try and figure out a way to the Neighborhood so they could find Chika’s dumbass brother, kick his ass, drag him back home, and yell at their parents for calling them both crazy.
·     Even before this they had the type of friendship that you have with people when they’re the only other person you know who doesn’t think you’re wrong or delusional or stupid and vice versa, which is possibly not the healthiest dynamic to have with your now-only friend. Especially at ages thirteen and fourteen. But Rinji disappearing kicked it into overdrive.
·     Somewhere along the line, Osamu’s mom decides that fourteen is old enough to live alone for a bit and heads off to wherever Osamu’s dad lives for what’s supposed to be a weeklong vacation, which turns into two months, which turns into moving there.
·     This is when Osamu joins BORDER.
·     Everything is Chill for a while: regular “spend time with someone I actually like” sleepovers, sneaking around trying to figure out how Border does data backups, stealing from the people protecting you from aliens, etc.
·     Then along comes Yuma and his Trion Necromancy Bullshit.
·     Yuma is the emotional core of this team.
·     So things go as in canon for a bit, it’s all chill and good and stabby for a bit there
·     Then Hyuse Joins.
·     Osamu and Chika, not really wanting someone wrecking their nice Everyone In This Room Thinks I Am A Mentally Stable Human Being bubble, and Yuma, who just really wants his team to get along, decide to sort of… friend-seduce him, for lack of a better word.
·     It may be actual seduction, because no one ever accused these three of being socially aware of literally anything.
·     The closest any of them have come is when Osamu read “The Social Contract” in fifth grade.
·     It was part of the European Philosopher Phase that involved a lot of Jung and Niechzhe.
·     It was immediately followed by the Percy and Mary Shelly Phase, and subsequently the Gothic Lit Phase.
·     It starts out slow, with them taking him out to lunch and movies and such.

answering meta asks sent to my sideblog
Under the cut because theses are gonna be looooooong
so recently i’ve gotten all of these through my askblog, @asktk2, which is an in-character askblog. Because I love writing meta, I still want to answer these, though.
Tumblr media
1. “thoughts on konami and her relationship to Being Strong because i feel there is certainly some trauma-type shit going on there.“
I agree that there is some trauma-type thing going on their. I think that Konami’s identity, in the whole, is largely built around being a strong person. Thinking about the factors which must have shaped her as a person? She grew up in a war. Her entire family as a young kid was fighting a shadow war, and considering that she took part in defending the city in the middle of the first invasion, I doubt that they bothered to shelter her from the reality of the world that they were living in.
But that’s just one angle.
Konami is a teenage girl. She goes to a private girls school. We know that, canonically, she pretends that she’s an operator and doesn’t get her hands dirty. In other words, she pretends to be martially weaker than she really is. What happened to her for her to be like that, especially around her peers? maybe, back when Border was a secret, she’d had to hide it, and the habit stuck. People can be like that- secrecy becommes obsessive, if you need it to be safe. Maybe after the first invasion she was shunned, made an object of fear. Maybe she needs a place where she is simply not a soldier.
Because that’s another angle. Konami and Jin and Reiji are soldiers. They have been soldiers since they were very, very young. They will always be soldiers, on some fundamental level. And with being soldiers comes trauma; Konami probably was in the massacre of Aristera. She would have seen her comrades, people who were effectively her family, killed in battle.
In the end, being weak gets you killed. Konami, I think, knows that very well.
2. “any thoughts on hana somei & her relationship with katori 🥺“
They are gay and I think that’s rad. Also, they share a videogame motif.
3. “do you have any headcanon thoughts on inukai, or the whole ninomiya squad? INUKAI IS TRANSMASC BTW“
all my ninomiya squad thoughts tie into my headcanons about the Great Web Of Betrayal (which is basically the whole Hatohara-Rinji situation and how I would like it to go) so they’re long enough to fill a whole other post and I’m out of spoons so if anyone is interested in those? ask away, I’ll lay it all out for you.

Heya, I see you write headcanons too, you got any for my boy Izumi?
·     A large amount of why Izumi antagonizes Yuiga so much is just that he resents people who can buy their way into things instead of having to work for them. Also, Yuiga is fun to look at from an outside perspective, but oh my god would he be annoying to deal with IRL.
·     That said, it’s like 90% a weird sibling rivalry thing, like when your parents insist that you actually like each other when they take out all their issues via being mean to you, and you figure that you can be a mature fucking adult and deal, so you just sort of let yourself be their punching bag a bit, because why the hell not, and it sort of sucks? But also they don’t really have other outlets for their emotions besides like self-harm so. Whatever. And then your parents make you share a bed on a vacation. And it sucks and you have to get up at eight in the morning and everyone insists it’s your fault that you’re tired and your sibling gives you a look that implies that you’re just fat and stupid and it really is your fault. Like that, you know?
·     The parents in this metaphor are no one. No one thinks they like each other. It’s a metaphor.
·     Speaking of parents- Izumi’s are actually really nice. His relationship with his sister is great. He’s a pretty well-adjusted person in general, even considering the stuff you do on the away missions.That said, his older sister and parents are loving, but really not that interested in what he does with Border. This is how he gets away with being on away missions for like months.
·     Izumi is way, way smarter than he generally acts.
·     It’s not a math genius thing or anything, but he’s got a very good head for battle (canon) and he’s very good at people in general (also canon-ish). Tachikawa is also like this, but he sort of purposefully plays up the “dumb” aspect.
·     Izumi is just the sort of teenager who oscillates between zero brain cells and a slightly ridiculous amount of brain cells.
·     Yuiga thinks that this is stupid. Yuiga also isn’t actually stupid, but goddamn does he make it hard to tell.
·     Speaking of which, he once spent an entire away mission eating only mandarin oranges, after he was told that Border had upped the luggage mass limit and bought a fifty-pound bag thereof.
·     The Border Away Mission Program banned oranges on their ship after that. Tamakoma-2, which had a cooler full of raw meat, beef blood, and slightly suspicious sausages, got homemade meat products banned. Now everyone eats salad and makes passive-aggressive comments about bulk grocery shopping.
·     Yuiga brought a bottle of really nice scotch but because really nice scotch also tastes Not Great, it was given away for a visting gift for a Neighbor dignitary.
·     He and Tachikawa met in elementary school. It involved a high-stakes* Yu-Gi-Oh duel. They got all the way to Nationals eventually, at which point Tachikawa joined Border (and Izumi followed when he was given permission to).

Headcanon Asks
So I seem to have a few people following me now, and I like writing things, so I am opening some headcanon asks! This is like. The first time I’ve done request writing? So like, shoot away.
RULES (I think most people have these?)
- No NSFW
- No x reader
- I’ll keep the irrelevant rants about obscure bits of history to the tags, even.
- unless you don’t mind me going off on tangents, please specify if you don’t mind and I’ll furnish you with at least one Weird Obscure History Fact
- I am a very weird person who has been informed that most people genuinely can’t tell upon encountering me if I am or am not on drugs. I am not. Basically, expect there to be Weird Shit, like my telling you where exactly they fit into my Everyone In Border Is A Supernatural Creature And They’re All Hiding It Because No Teen Has Good Communication Skills In General AU

It would be nice to say that he was joking, but the next morning Tetsurou already had a smart mouth.
“You started snoring before I even got to glutaminyllys-”
“Do not start again, Kuroo Tetsurou, or I swear to god!”
He grins at you through the mirror, taking a mouth full of your mouthwash. Even that doesn’t wash away the smirk on his face. You follow suit, glaring at him as harshly as possible.
“Hey,” he starts, though it’s drowning in liquid spearmint. He empties his mouth in the sink, only coming up after wetting his hands and running them through his bedhead. It really does nothing, though. “You looked so euphoric moments ago in the shower. Don’t tell me that if I don’t fuck you to sleep you get grumpy.”
Why me? Your face flushes a warm shade of pink under your skin at the memory of the two of you just moments ago. You had woken up already on top of Tetsurou, desperately grinding against him until he finally gave in and carried you to the shower. “Two birds with one stone,” he said, and you were a little bit disappointed in the end since he didn’t knot you due to the morning camp schedule.
More importantly, you’re worried that you’d walk into the gymnasium reeking of two different alphas and your own omega heat, but Tetsurou’s quick to sense your worries.
“Huh? Was that too harsh?” He leans down to your height, his hand angling your face up. He sniffs the air between you, trying to figure you out. “Or is it something else?”
“I-... People aren’t supposed to know about my dynamic. And the soap doesn’t really cover up my scent without my suppressants.”
“Ahh I see,” he says like he’s discovered the moon. He stands up straight, his hands on his hips. “You won’t need them if I breed you throughout the day — that’s why heats exist anyway is so wolves’ll breed.”
He says it so matter-of-factly, practically detaching himself from the situation and proposing it like a science group project. As if he’s just proposing what his role would be.
Really, though? Kuroo Tetsurou is pussy whipped. He’s not too proud to admit it, but he’s not going to be so crass about something you’re sensitive about. And by the look on your face at his proposal, he can tell he might just have a foot in the door.
“No.”
Slamming the door on my face, huh?
“I don’t want it to be obvious that I’m in heat… If people see me sneaking around with you they’ll-”
“They’ll just think we’re messing around together. They aren’t going to catch the scent of your heat at all. You know why? Because you’ll be getting fucked through it and your hormones will balance out. I promise, Y/N. Besides-”
He begins to put on yesterday’s clothes, already set on running back to his room to change before breakfast. “Suppressants mess with the mate bond. You’re never going to find your mate if you keep that up.”
He’s scolding you like he’s withered, the disappointment on his face only growing when you respond.
“I know.”
“You know.”
“Yes…”
“Then…?”
You let out a long sigh. “I just… I don’t think I’ll be able to think about having a mate for a long time anyway. I have to take these so no one finds out about the truth. Maybe when I’m older I’ll-”
“Alright, alright!” Tetsurou plants a hand on your head. “I get it. But for now, let me burden that with you, alright?”
You look up at him in wonder, mouth forming a little O at the somewhat valiant words. He isn’t looking at you — his other hand on the back of his neck and his face angled slightly up as if what he said was such an understatement. Does he know how much it means to you? Probably not. But that doesn’t matter. He’s probably trying to hide the baby pink hue on his cheeks but you don’t care. You wrap your arms around his torso, burying your face in his toned chest and letting the world around you be replaced with his arms.
Tetsurou bites the inside of his cheek, enveloping you as close as possible so that it’s very likely you can feel his heart racing. All he did was propose to have sex with you any time your heat flares up; why is he so flustered about it? He’s just lucky you seem to be a bit more open to the idea now.
He leaves you to finish getting ready, needing to change anyway. You’re just finishing up your morning routine when your hair decides to catch onto your earring while combing through it.
“Ouch…” You clench your jaw, trying to not think about the potential damage. One look at your ear and you know you’re fine, but the initial shock had you anticipating the worst. But now another problem…
Sighing, you kneel down to search for the tiny jewel, hoping it didn’t fall in the toilet. But then you see it. Right behind the toilet is the familiar shape of something else you’ve been looking for.
“Yes!” you cry out in victory, relief washing over you. You finally have them — why didn’t you think to check behind the toilet?! It’s almost a dream come true, all your future anxieties about the rest of camp-
Tetsurou.
You freeze.
...Should you take them?
By the time lunch comes, you’re back to doing the same methods of slipping past the dining hall while everyone else is eating. You’re practically running, the fear of being caught by Senpai (who was oddly staring at you longingly from across the gym all morning) or someone else propelling you forward.
Of course, an excited tap on the butt from a certain grinning Alpha encourages you to turn the corner down an abandoned hall even faster. Tetsurou’s hot on your trail, the next Heat Wave already getting him going like a horny teen in high school again. Maybe the “chat” he had with Nishinoya earlier and the look on the shorty’s face during the whole morning of conditioning put him in an extra good mood. But nothing is better than you tugging him aside with a flushed face and pleading eyes during the last 10 minutes to ask him to help you with the obvious.
He can’t thank the Moon Goddess enough.
“Say, doll, have you ever wanted to have sex on a balcony? ‘Cuz we could go to the fourth gymnasium and-”

Visits from the Vice Dorm Leaders
     Trey stood outside of the Pomefiore dorm. He wanted to check in on Riddle. Sure, he’s seen him around school, but not a lot. Plus a lot of Pomefiore students Rook drag him away during lunch, so Trey doesn’t get to see Riddle a lot. The Heartslabyul vice dorm leader heads inside. He was amazed with the dorm’s interior. There were pillars of marble, red carpets, velvet curtains, and pretty people everywhere. He stopped a passing student, Epel.
“Excuse me. Sorry, but can I get some help?”
“Oh, you are Heartslabyul’s vice dorm leader, right?”
“That’s right. Is Riddle here?”
“Yeah. Riddle-senpau is in his quarters. Follow me.”
     Epel led Trey through the dorm. The dorm leader’s quarters was sealed by a large, double door. This dorm did not hold back on anything. The student knocked on the door. A voice could be heard from the other side.
“What is it?”
“There is some here to see you, Riddle-senpai.”
“Send them in.”
     The door opened and the student let Trey into the room before closing the door behind him. In the room, Riddle was sitting at the vanity and practicing makeup. He turned to look at who came for him.
“Trey…”
“Hey, Riddle. Haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Yeah. I’ve been meaning to talk with you regarding Heartslabyul, but Rook-senpai keeps dragging me away to eat with the others.”
“Haha. Wow, you got a serious glow up since being here.”
“Huh?”
“Literally. Your skin is glowing.”
“Oh, that’s the highlighter. Vil’s special highlighter is very bright and luminescent. Shine a light on me and I’m pretty sure my skin will become as bright as these chandeliers.” Then Riddle repeated Trey’s words in his head. “Wait, I know you weren’t just talking about the highlighter when you said ‘glow up!’ What did you mean by that?”
“Nothing bad!” Trey held up his hands in defense.

     Ruggie smiled and hummed a little tune as he walked down the pathway to Heartslabyul. He thought he’d pay a surprise visit to his lazy senpai. He heard a groan in a low voice and took that as a sign. He walked into the Rose Maze and saw Leona in a nice cape and squeezing out water from his hair. He, himself, was also soaking wet. Ruggie did not hold back his laughter.
“Pfft-aHAHAHA!!! What happened to you? Hahaha!” Ruggie held his stomach because he thought the view before him was so funny. Leona froze, knowing that laugh and voice all too well. He stood up and looked over at Ruggie.
“Shut it, Ruggie. It’s not funny.”
“It kind of is. Nope. Sorry. It’s REALLY funny.”
“Ugh, whatever.”
“So, what happened to you?”
“Cater Diamond happened.”
“Elaborate.”
“Apparently I broke one of the hundreds of rules of the dorm.”
“How does that relate to you being soaking wet?”
“Riddle’s magic was used to punish those who broke the dorm rules, but I can’t do it. So I gave Cater the hose to spray any rule breakers…including me…” That’s when Ruggie broke. He fell onto the ground on his back, laughing and clutching his stomach. Leona groaned, but he got an idea. He took his new cape and squeezed the water out of it over the laughing hyena.
“Haha-AGH! Hey!” Ruggie immediately stopped laughing and glared at Leona, who had a smug look on his face.
“You dare to laugh at me? I am not just the King of Beasts, I am the King of Hearts. Laugh any longer then…off with your head.”

     Jade, along with Floyd, stood outside the dorm of Ignihyde. Floyd wanted to see Azul in his new natural habitat. The inside the dorm was just as dark and gloomy as the outside. There were torches lit with blue fire along the walls. Out of nowhere, Azul appears before the twins with a gentle smile.
“Welcome to Ignihyde, Jade. Floyd. I’m glad you could come visit.”
“Whoh!” Floyd jumps a little from the sudden appearance. “When did you start sneaking around like that?”
“I saw you two approach the dorm through the security cameras. Plus, we have an alarm for when someone enters the dorm area through the Ignihyde Mirror.” Jade chuckles.
“That’s very impressive. So, how are you doing here in the dorm of technology?”
“I’m doing just fine. Follow me. I’ll show you to our main research room.”
     Azul smiles and leads the twins to the research room. Once there, the twins were in shock and awe. The room was black, but it was covered in lights, screens, and wires.
“This is where many experiments and research takes place. Once everyone saw you two on the cameras, they retreated to their rooms to do their research there.”
“Eh? Are we that scary?” Floyd asked.
“Perhaps, but everyone here is rather shy. Try not to take too much offense to it. With my reputation, everyone is still rather cautious of me.”
“I take it you haven’t made any deals here yet?”
“Unfortunately, no. No one has been courageous enough to ask for anything. They’re all content with their technology.”
     As Jade and Azul talked about the dorm, Floyd wandered off to look at all the gadgets. He touched a button, and a bright blue screen projected up in front of him. He took off his glove, placed his finger on it and swiped it, a new screen showing up.
“Whoa! This is so cool! How did they do this?” Floyd’s amazement caught Azul’s and Jade’s attention. Azul walks over.
“Ah, that’s one of the earlier projects from several years ago. They combined the technology with image projection from classroom projectors and the touch sensitivity of our phones. With a little magic, the projections ‘corporeal’ of sorts.”
“Huh?” Floyd looked at Azul in confusion. “How does that even work?”
“The projectors are connected to the dorm’s computer system, so the projection will show a computer home screen. Using magic, the alumni were able to give the projection a physical form while maintaining it’s transparent look. Combining that with the touch screen technology has created a physical, transparent projection of sorts. When you touch the screen, the presence of your finger interrupts the flow of the photo and electric current, allowing you to swipe the screen like our phones.” Azul shows them how it works and reveals that you can use it with gloves. He turns back to the twins. “Of course, this is old technology now and is still being improved. At the moment, we’re trying to figure out how to compress it so it can be used mobile. So far, it’s only been uploaded to and tested on Idia’s tablet. The tenants believe that it might be compatible with the mobile phone soon.”
“…” Jade and Floyd look at him and are silent.
“What?” Azul looks at them in confusion. Floyd speaks for both him and Jade mostly him.
“You have become a huge nerd.”
“Wha-…hey!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     Lilia hummed and walked through the gardens of Scarabia. He stopped to watch a purple peacock walk by. He was amazed an animal could be such a vivid color. He followed it through the garden, only to be stopped by the dorm leader.
“Can you refrain from acting suspicious around the dorm?” Lilia looked up and smiled.
“Malleus! It’s been a while! How’s the new dorm treating you?”
“What are you doing here, Lilia?”
“Just came by for a visit! All of the vice dorm leaders are visiting our old leaders today. Since the switch, everything is crazy. But every dorm seems to be settling quite nicely with their new leaders. Kalim has really brightened up Diasomnia.”
“I see.”
“Nice outfit by the way. Love the gold on you. It’s a big contrast from your black, green, and silver.”
“It’s not bad. A little more revealing than I’d like, but it works for the heat.”
“So, how’s the dorm? I heard that it’s usually a party palace.”
“It’s alright, I guess. Everyone keeps their distance, so it’s not that much different from Diasomnia.”
“I think this is a good opportunity for you.”
“How is anything about this situation good?”
“You can learn to lighten up a bit. Form some bonds maybe or get other people to get to know you.”
“We’ll see about that. By the way, should you really be here with Kalim as Diasomnia’s dorm leader?”
“I’m sure he’s fine.” Lilia smiled care freely. Knowing Kalim, Malleus sort of doubted that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     Once Rook arrived at the drylands of Savanaclaw, he couldn’t imagine how Vil must be keeping up with his beauty and moisturized skin. He found Jack and got him to take him to “Vil’s” room. The room was very clean and organized. Vil was at the desk with a hand mirror and doing his makeup.
“Knock knock.” Rook said to get Vil’s attention. The dorm leader looked up and smiled. He got up and walked over to Rook.
“Rook, what are you doing here? Why didn’t you tell me you were visiting? If I had known you’d be coming over, I would have made myself more presentable.”
“Fear not, fairest of them all, you are still beautiful. I’m impressed you’ve stayed so hydrated out here.”
“Well, thanks to that toner I got from Azul, my skin has remained moisturized and smooth. As for my hair, it’s a struggle to get it to remain silky and shiny.”
“You are amazing and beautiful as ever, Roi de Poison. Parfait.”
“Thank you. I try.”
“By the way, I LOVE the leather jacket. It suits you very well.”
“You think so? I’m rather thankful for the long sleeves, as it’s more fashionable. I am NOT wearing those vests. The long sleeves are a nightmare because of the heat, but I am not letting my arms tan from the sun. It’s hard enough avoiding it to prevent my face from tanning and aging.” Vil flips his hair and sighs.
“You know, you should try and put Epel in this getup.” Rook suggested, not being serious. Vil does and thinks about it.
“Well, he’s not exactly meant for this look. It would clash with his delicate beauty. But, if I can fill out this leather than so can he. I wonder if there are any spare uniforms around. I’ll have to ask Ruggie when he gets back.”
“Wait, what?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     Ortho entered the Mostro Lounge, knowing that his big brother would be there somewhere. He was guided to a seat and ordered a drink, since he can’t just wander around to look for his brother. When he ordered, he also requested to see his brother. The Octavinelle student nodded and went to get the new manager. Ortho happily looked around the lounge as he waited for his drink and brother to arrive. When his drink was placed in front of him, he looked up to see his big brother serving him.
“Hey, big brother!”
“Nice to see you again, Ortho.” Idia took a seat with Ortho so they can talk. “What are you doing here? I didn’t hear a thing about you coming over.”
“I just wanted to see you. It’s been a while since we could be together.”
“It has. Oh, how is your body? Do you need any updates? I can do them right now since you’re here.”
“I’m alright. Mr. Azul is a fast learner and has been giving me updates.”
“Wow…he’s really smart if he’s able to learn that quickly.”
“But I might need a new update since I haven’t had one in a while.”
“Alright. Finish up your drink and we can go.”
     Ortho nods and happily spends some ore time with his brother. The two spent some time talking and catching up. Ortho shared what’s been happening at Ignihyde and how he is sort of like Azul’s mentor. Azul was a fast learner and picked up technological terminology in a heartbeat. Once Ortho finished his drink, the brothers got up and went to “Idia’s” room. He connected Ortho to his computer and began the upgrade. Once finished, the two stayed together some more.
“What’s going on with you and Ashengrotto?” Idia asked curiously.
“He’s great. He’s like an honorary big brother. Although, I’m getting a little concerned.”
“How so?”
“I feel like he’s looking into hacking because I saw him reading about it and asking other around about how to do it.”
“He’s…looking into hacking?” That concerned Idia a lot, and it seemed to be worrying Ortho as well.
“He said something about it helping him with future contracts. Something about gacha pulls.”
     That’s when something clicked within Idia.
     Jamil looked up at the castle that was Diasomnia’s dorm. He took a deep breath and entered the dorm. As he walked through the halls, he kept on getting stares from the tenants. After all, not many others have the courage to venture into Diasomnia for any reason or no reason at all. He found into Sebek and approached him.
“Excuse me.”
“Hm? Oh, you’re Jamil Viper from Scarabia. Are you here to see Kalim?”
“Yes. I am rather concerned about the situation and wish to check on Kalim.”
“You and me both.” Sebek sighs. “The only thing Silver is concerned with is how this all happened. Well, anyway, follow me. I’ll take you to him.”
“Thank you.”
     It was a rather role reversal from the Entrance Ceremony, but Sebek wasn’t going to say anything. They traveled up many flights of stairs and to the tallest tower in the dorm. Sebek knocked on the door.
“Dorm Leader Kalim? It’s Sebek. There’s someone here to see you.”
“Come in!”
     Sebek opened the door, letting Jamil in first. There, Kalim sitting at the desk and was struggling to do his homework. He looked up to see who was here and smiled brightly. She got up and ran over to the duo, immediately hugging Jamil.
“JAMIL!”
“WHOA! Do not jump at me so suddenly!”
“I missed you so much!”
“But we see each other at school and in class all the time.”
“It’s not the same! I don’t get to see you outside of school! I’m so lonely here! Sebek and Silver are so distant and Lilia is hardly around with me like you always were.”
“I am loyal to the Young Master. I’m not gonna coddle you.” Sebek interrupted.
“I just want company…” Kalim pouted. Jamil sighs, knowing fully well that Kalim’s clinginess is due to him babying him this whole time. Once this is all over, he’ll have to change that. “So, Jamil, what are you doing here? I didn’t here a word that you were coming.”
“The vice dorm leaders decided to check on our former leaders to see how they were doing.”
“Oh yeah? OH! You should come to the feast tonight!”
“What?” Jamil blanked. Did Kalim just say there was going to be a feast?
“I’ve invited the others to come too! We’ve got a big spread coming tonight!”
“What’s happening here?” Jamil looked over at Sebek, wanting an explanation.
“Dorm leader Kalim has been throwing parties rather frequently. Actually, he threw a feast the day he became our new dorm leader. It was really…interesting. But he single handedly got everyone to party in roughly 1 hour.” That was rather shocking to Jamil.
“Wait, did you say others were coming?”
“Yeah! I invited the other dorms! Ruggie is really excited and so is Vil-senpai!”
‘Probably only to get out of the drylands…’ Jamil thought to himself.
“Plus, I think this is a good chance to let others into Diasomnia and let them know that we aren’t so bad. It’s just because of the categorization of them being powerful and good at magic that make them scary. Everyone is really nice. A little distant, but they’re really nice. I wanted the other dorms to know that too!”
     Jamil was rather impressed. Kalim was actually trying to close the distance between Diasomnia and the other dorms. Perhaps Kalim was smarter than he thought.
“Since you’re here, could you help me with my Alchemy homework?”
     Or maybe not.
I just read your essay on why Akiren has 0 social stats at the beginning of the game and I completely agree with you. I have another question for you though. Why do you think Yu and Minato had 0 social stats at the beginning of their games? Maybe for Minato it’s because he numbed himself to the world due the trauma of his parents’ deaths. For Yu, I think it might be him trying not to get attached to people since he’s only going to be there for a year.
minato’s reason is definitely bc of his apathy. homeboi looked yukari dead in the eyes and asked “Is dying really that scary to you?” he lives his life in apathy which is a nice nice tie-in for the in-game apathy syndrome thing.
in P3, minato’s journey was about him learning the value of life. forming mortal connections that grew so powerful that he chose to become the great seal to protect the world. throughout the game, some of his dialogue options actively break social links and you as a player have to work to keep those links intact. and there’s the manner of summoning personas.
the 0 social stats for minato is likely because he has no reason to better himself. he’s just there. its more noticeable in the movie but early game minato is an apathetic empty mess. only when you advance in the game and form bonds w people does minato seem like he’s actually enjoying life. the rise of social stats is probably minato actually learning those skills.
notice that he only has 3 stats to raise: charm, intelligence, and courage. those 3 make sense to be the stats he focuses on throughout the game. academics is easily improved by studying. charm can easily be interpreted as how comfortable he is with himself. courage is. courage. and these 3 tie in the game’s theme nicely. p3′s central theme i think is accepting death. loss. grief. feeling emotion and destroying apathy. as minato raises his stats throughout the game, he equips himself with the necessary tools to handle loss and death.
max stat end game minato is simply him actually growing as a person and slowly beginning to enjoy life. he learns to enjoy life so much that he gives his own to protect the lives of everything else and im still not fucking over it.
.
for yu, admittedly, im not. that familiar w his story. i havent played p4 in a long long time but p4 is essentially about finding the truth, never giving in to ignorance, etc. its been really long yall.
p4′s story is more straightforward than 3 and 5 so i think yu’s stat progression is also a bit more linear and not as complicated. it’s straightforward. 3 has an existential crisis with judeo-christian undertones and conspiracies and the whole shinjiro-ken debacle and lots of conflicting motives from the sees on why they’re fighting. yukari has her father, ken has revenge, mitsuru has the kirijo name, etc. 5 is a heist movie turned into a game with all of the twists and turns heist movies have and all the PTs have their own reasons for pursuing justice.
with p4, their sole motivation is to uncover the truth. all of them have that one thing in mind and they all work together towards that goal. there are definitely bumps along the road but all of them want to get to the bottom of the matter. to uncover what the fog’s been hiding, to answer all the mysteries they’ve been presented with.
on that note, yu is probably developing his skills for the sake of developing his skills. he has responsibility as leader and senpai to be on top of everything and to be someone his team can rely on. all of them are stumbling in the dark. p3 has mitsuru and akihiko who help guide minato. p5 has morgana and igor who do the same thing for akiren. p4 has no one. teddy knows almost nothing about the shadow world. teddy has a very loose identity (and it becomes a plot point for him) and yu has to lead every single one of the IT through nothing.
so that would be a big reason for him to improve his stats. he wants to be better for his team. he wants to be someone they can depend on. he wants to be needed and be connected with them. (he loved his team so much that he imagined the whole trapped in inaba forever sequence) his stat improvement is him wanting to be better for the sake of being better. so he can explore more of the shadow world. so he can connect deeper with his friends and his team.
imo p4 did a better job w the whole connecting thing than 3 or 5. 3 is overshadowed by the plot. the whole “beat a shadow to advance confidant” thing in 5 was handled poorly. 4 focused on the slink and slink alone so there was more development. plus branching dialogue that’s affected by the previous slink rank. you can feel like youre actually connecting with these people so you want to know them better and to know them better you need to improve your stats so you improve your stats.
.
in summary.
persona 5 - protagonist starts with 0 (zero) stats because society told him that he’s nothing more than criminal scum which heavily affected his cognition of himself, leading to akiren believing that his stats actually ARE at 0 even though theyre not
persona 3 - protagonist starts with 0 (zero) stats not for lack of trying, but because minato arisato literally did not care about life or death and only gained stats as he overcame his apathy
persona 4 - protagonist starts with 0 (zero) stats because yuu actually starts closest TO 0 stats and his journey throughout the game is a progression of his own personal growth as he strives to better himself for the sake of his team and friends
Hey!
Ok, so, I don’t know if you read submissions but it felt like this was the only avenue to get all this words in at one go. So! Loved the Omega!Shoto piece, good god, that was in my head for the rest of the day. But then, since you were so descriptive of their sidekick, I imagined a thing.
Hero!Reader’s sidekick is also an Omega. But, since they’re older, they understand their Omega traits even better than the young Todoroki. In fact, they weaponise their pheremones to the point that it’s practically a second Quirk. In fact, they have a Quirk that allows them to manipulate air which they use to fly through the air, conduct mid-air combat, and force pulses of their scent to thoroughly disorient villains.
Outside of that, they’re a typical Omega. Compassionate, sweet, and so on. But they’re onto Todoroki’s bullshit. They’re also quite a high profile figure in Hero!Reader’s life, having known them since middle school and requested to be their sidekick as opposed to breaking out on their own once the two of them became more prominent. So, they have no intention of letting Shoto shoo them away.
The night of the piece you wrote, the sidekick returns halfway through the… mating. They even stop right outside the office, almost suffocated by the intensity of both scents. Todoroki tended to avoid them, and today had been a very busy day, so they hadn’t noticed he’d been off his supressants and was in heat. They’re embarrassed and intend to leave, but they also realise just how problematic Shoto was going to be if he was prepared to abuse his heat like this.
They eventually make an attempt to confront him, after having gathered enough evidence of his attempts to manipulate Hero!Reader into being his Darling. They fight and, once they reach a stalemate, Hero!Reader appears on the scene which distracts Todoroki long enough for Sidekick to overpower him and slap on the pair of Quirk-Canceling handcuffs they’d prepared; having expected the confrontation to go awry.
Even as they have him pinned down, they assure him that they believe he’s a good person in poor circumstances. Whilst they’d been investigating Shoto, they’d found out about Endeavour’s shitty fathering. They had no real intention of doing anything negative to Shoto, they just wanted to get him on the up and up.
In an encounter with Endeavour, however, doesn’t go as pleasantly. Sidekick absolutely blows up at him, but since they’re in public Sidekick can’t punch him or anything. They also don’t want to expose what he did to Shoto without the younger Todoroki’s consent, so their verbal assault only hints at his shitty parentage.
It’s at this point that Todoroki (maybe?) gets the idea to have another Darling? After all, his Alpha is amazing and deserves so much more than one Omega can provide. But this Omega is so sweet and caring that he can’t just let his Alpha have all the fun!
Once he opens up to the sidekick, they immediately welcome his change in demeanour to them. They’d wanted a senpai-kohai bond with him since he had joined the agency! This is wonderful! Just as Hero!Reader treats him basically as a son or other younger family member, the sidekick treats him like a little brother too. It’s their instinct as the oldest out of the two omegas! Plus, he deserves it after the upbringing he had.
They coddle, cuddle and dote on him. Even having a habit of smothering his face, save his lips, with kisses. He’s just so adorable, y'know?
So, yeah. Love your work in general, dear. You’re an amazing writer, and I can just see how hard you work for every syllable. Keep up the good work! That’s all I had to say. Have a nice day!
Tumblr media
Honestly, I love the idea of Shoto having to deal with (and subsequently falling for) his Alpha’s “secondary” Omega, who always seems to show up right before he gets what he wants. They always seem to be hanging around you, clinging to his mate and getting in his ways and being so annoying, forcing him to plan and scheme and be far more subtle than anyone should ever expect Shoto to be. By the time he finally snaps, his hormones so pent up, his obsession practically tangible, he’s ready to kill them, to snap their neck and take what he wants. He’s reverted to a primal state, and even when you get him restrained, there’s not much to do except take him home and try to make it seem like the #1 Hero’s Son isn’t an attempted murderer.
It could be considered kidnapping, sure, but he’s probably enjoying it too much for it to be called that. He’ll never admit it, but he loves the way you come home on your lunch-breaks to check on him, how you put him to bed every night (to make sure he’s properly restrained) and hold him so tightly whenever he’s outside of his room (he won’t run, but you don’t know that). After a while, all he wants to do is be coddled and cuddled and held, whether that comes in the form of sitting on the counter while you cook or playing-brat with your other Omega, who’s practically moved into your guestroom by the time he can stand to look at them. He doesn’t mind them, not really (it’s nice to have someone who’s just as touchy-feely as he is), but he still pouts whenever you talk to them, inserting himself into every conversation and whining if you two come home late, more like a puppy than a proper hostage.
Not that he would leave, if you gave him the choice. He’s clingy, like that.
I’d still be careful, though. Omegas tend to have synchronized heats under the same Alpha, and since they’ve been spending so much time around you, you’re inevitably going to come home to two desperate, needy little lovers splayed out and begging for their third. It’ll be a little harder to resist claiming them if your ‘voice of reason’ is just as illogical as your new pet.
reflected in prismed moonlight | bokuaka
Three empty bottles of sake sit on the balcony table amongst five, equally empty glasses. Prismed moonlight splays through the glassware, across the laminated surface and the backs of five wicker chairs. The streets below are empty, cars parked in straight lines along the kerb and shop front windows arranged in a blacked-out and spotlighted pattern: an alcove of silence in the busiest, perhaps liveliest city in the world.
      The air is stagnant and warm, tinged with a promise of a crisp change in the next hour, and the sky clear and painted with shimmering stars around a high moon. It’s the perfect night to submit to the serenity and contemplate without any qualms or nuisance work things that needed to be done for Monday. Akaashi finds himself doing just that, sinking into one of the wicker chairs instead of tidying up the bottles and glasses, eyes drinking in the high-rises across the road and the sparkling city centre upon the horizon.
      It’s been a good night. For the past four hours, the apartment and this balcony, five levels up, had been filled with chatter and laughter, stories of high school, and cheers and promises to catch up again soon. Konoha and Yukie had arrived arm-in-arm around six o’clock, sporting matching menacing grins that Akaashi knew from the get-go would make him and Bokuto targets of their incessant teasing. Komi had come about ten minutes later, laden with bags of promised chef’s specials from the restaurant he worked at and wagashi from the sweet shop two minutes down from it. Bokuto’s key had clicked in the lock not long after that, announcing himself with a crow of I’m home! and the three sake bottles tucked into his elbow.
      They had helped Akaashi set the table in the kitchen, even though he had almost been done, but Konoha insisted he set up the chopsticks and glasses and Yukie wanted to hurry up the process by arranging the bowls so she could dig in as soon as possible because Komi-kun’s cooking smells amazing and I’m starving. Bokuto had been too busy unpacking the sake and food with Komi to come to Akaashi’s aid so he had given in rather quickly. It hadn’t taken them long to settle down and start eating; Akaashi smiles at the recollection of Yukie’s delighted expression upon her first bite of katsudon. It was nice to see some things hadn’t changed.
      Metal rattling grabs Akaashi’s attention as the door behind him slides open. Next second there are a pair of hands rubbing along his shoulders, firm and soothing, and a soft mouth drops a kiss on the top of his head. Akaashi hums and is about to succumb to the touch when it leaves him, Bokuto choosing to weave between the chairs and reach for the glasses and bottles. He grabs Bokuto’s wrist before he can pick up the glassware, sliding his fingers over the slightly damp skin of his palm and snugly fitting their fingers together. In his mind he’s saying the rest of the washing up can wait and he knows Bokuto understands his wordless plea as a smile crawls onto his face. Bokuto lowers himself into the chair next to his with a tired groan, breaking their handhold in favour of draping his arm over the back of Akaashi’s chair, the tips of his fingers brushing against the point of his shoulder; Akaashi doesn’t hesitate to nudge his chair closer to Bokuto’s, allowing himself to snuggle into Bokuto’s warm body as much as he can. He lets out a content sigh when Bokuto brings him in closer and knocks their feet together.
      Akaashi’s voice is a borderline whisper as he asks, ‘You have fun tonight?’
      ‘Yeah, I did!’ Bokuto replies in a volume that nearly matches Akaashi’s. ‘Had a great time. How about you?’
      Humming in affirmation, Akaashi adds, ‘It was nice seeing everyone again.’
      ‘Yeah… too bad the others couldn’t make it,’ Bokuto mutters sullenly. ‘I know they’re busy with work and stuff but… would’ve been nice to see ‘em.’
      ‘It would have,’ Akaashi agrees, ‘but at the same time, I don’t think our apartment can accommodate our entire high school volleyball team.’
      Bokuto laughs and Akaashi feels a smile tug at the corners of his lips at the sound.
      ‘That’s true,’ he says, ‘but still, I haven’t seen Tatsu and Yama and Kaori in ages, and Shuu-chan and Wata-chan had to go and do awesome stuff overseas and who knows when they’re gonna come back? I miss ‘em, Keiji.’
      Akaashi’s I miss them too comes out as a gentle squeeze at Bokuto’s knee.
      After high school—or rather, after Akaashi’s third year senpais had graduated—everyone had gone off in different directions: Washio and Bokuto went off and tried out for local professional volleyball teams; Sarukui, Yukie, Kaori and Konoha started their university degrees; and Komi dove straight into his apprenticeship at a nearby izakaya as a kitchenhand. Despite their diverging paths, all of them (be it all at once or in twos and threes) had visited Fukuroudani at different points during Akaashi’s third year, so much so it was like they never left. They sat during training sessions, watching Akaashi bring out the best of his kouhais as both a setter and captain. Their presence had been comforting, Akaashi can admit that even now.
      But that comfortable presence, the pride they had exuded in the stands at the Spring Tournament (because yes, of course we came to watch you and the rest of the team, why wouldn’t we?), the pointers from the sidelines and the cheers of joy at each new point they scored was what made their abrupt loss a few rounds into Nationals unbearably painful.
      It had been excruciating to look down at his captain’s jersey, its meaning withering away before his very eyes. Looking at his kouhai’s disappointed, exhausted, saddened expressions as they lined up before their cheer squad in the stands had been knives in his chest with every step he took away from their—and his—last game. He hadn’t been able to meet any of his senpais’ eyes when he thanked their section of the stands for their support, bowing as low as he could. The applause had been deafening, undeserved because they had lost. Akaashi hadn’t been able to see or think clearly as they left the stadium, heading towards the change rooms to switch uniforms and pack up. Along the way, he had heard variations of his name from familiar voices, treasured voices—Akaashi-senpai, Akaashi-san, Akaashi—but nothing had made him stutter in his step and his brain trickle into ringing silence more than a clear and confident shout of Keiji!
      When he had managed to focus his gaze on the owner of the voice—and who else could it possibly be other than Bokuto-san?—Akaashi had expected intense eyes that flashed gold, or a sad smile and open arms, or even Bokuto with the whole gang, determined to give him a good talking to about they had played fair and square and well. He had been presented with none of that: Bokuto had been alone and he glowed not with determination or sympathy but with such overwhelming pride that Akaashi had felt the last of his resolve crumble into pieces. It had well and truly shattered when the rest of them filed through the open doors, Konoha yelling out oi, thanks for waiting, dickhead, resulting in Bokuto squawking in offence I’m not a dickhead! Kaori and Washio had calming smiles while Sarukui and Komi decided to join Konoha in berating Bokuto for abandoning them; Yukie had laughed at Bokuto when he cried out for her to help him—Yukippe, please! They’re so mean!—the sound the loudest out of everything, drowning out the whistles and shouting of a new match taking place on the court.
      Even though Akaashi had broken down in front of them for the second time (scaring his kouhai in the process because not once had he shown weakness in front of them that past year save for Onaga and Anahori) he had been smiling. Yes, they had lost. Yes, it had been Akaashi’s last game. And yes, it had royally sucked, but if Akaashi had learned anything that day was that the bond that existed between him and both his former and current teammates wasn’t just something that appeared in their best moments. It burned brightly in the darkest spaces: an eternal flame that time would not extinguish. It was a special tie that kept them together even when apart, the kind that existed between Hinata and Kageyama, Kuroo and Kenma, and (perhaps in a roundabout way) the Miya brothers.
      And when Komi demanded Akaashi and the team find them in the barbecue place down the road, that lunch is on them, Akaashi had realised something else. He and Bokuto had something more between them, and the way he had cried out Akaashi’s given name like it was second nature had made his heart race. Irrationality had been a big factor, kindled with a desperate kind of hope, in Akaashi claiming his only victory on the outskirts of the hallway, shadowed in a private nook.
      (Bokuto’s hands had been gentle in wiping his tears away, expression bright and fond, but Akaashi had been fierce in closing the gap, consecutive expression one of horror and tongue heavy with an apology. It, however, never saw the world beyond his lips, not when Bokuto’s own had stretched in a delighted, tearful grin.)
      So Akaashi misses them more than he can admit out loud, because when they’re all as close as this, it’s hard not to miss each other when they’re apart. But there is not much he can do when Sarukui has a night shift he can’t badger his way out of; when Kaori has night classes on the other side of Tokyo; when Washio’s new team favour long and gruelling training sessions on a Friday night; and when Onaga and Anahori are exploring Europe and Australia, blowing up their senpais’ phones with new landmarks and delicious treats at any given opportunity.
       What he tells Bokuto is, ‘We’ll see them eventually. We can organise something in the future so that everyone can attend.’
      ‘That’s a good idea, Keiji,’ Bokuto says pensively. ‘Hey, we can invite Coach Yamaji, too!’
      Craning his neck to gaze into Bokuto’s face, Akaashi’s mouth forms into a half grin. It’s enough of a response for Bokuto’s eyes light up and his smile is so big Akaashi cannot resist kissing it with his own. The taste of sake lingers and Bokuto pulls away with a low sound after a moment, massaging the space between his eyebrows.
      ‘Fuck, remind me never to challenge Yukippe again,’ he grumbles and Akaashi can’t stop the laugh that bursts out of him.
      ‘Shirofuku-san can drink us all under the table if she wanted to. I just hope she managed to get Konoha-san home,’ Akaashi muses. ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if he knocked into every person on the street and missed his stop.’
      (Konoha was not a great drinker, and three glasses of sake in, he was already red-faced and misty-eyed as he reminisced about high school. Komi had been in tears trying not to laugh, and both Bokuto and Akaashi had simply nodded along, providing fuel for the fire by bringing up completely random and unrelated memories just to see what reactions they could elicit. Yukie had been beside herself, choking on her drink multiple times when Konoha would let out a wail.)
      ‘Serves ‘im right!’ Bokuto exclaims, but there’s amusement in his tone. ‘Yukippe’s kinda responsible though… she’ll get him home. She kept us in line and all, didn’t she?’
      ‘She did.’ Akaashi looks out over the balcony railing, just in time to see a pair of birds flying amongst the inky sky. He doesn’t know why it causes him to remember a certain high school moment, but he aims at Bokuto, ‘Remember that summer training camp? The year Karasuno joined us? When she burst into our room to tell us off for waking her up in the middle of the night because we were too busy playing cards?
      ‘Oh yeah, I forgot about that!’ Bokuto laughs and smacks a hand against his chest. ‘She scared Kuroo so bad—remember his scream?—and he was in the other room and everything!’
      ‘And then Hinata-kun and Kageyama-kun wanted to join in, but Sawamura-san told them off too. Their faces, I’ll never forget—’
      ‘—they were so scared, oh nooo, too funny—oh, and remember when we were playing charades—Tatsu’s impersonation of a puppy? I died—’
      ‘“I’m a small version of a big cute thing. Wan-wan.”’
      They dissolve into loud cackles, clutching onto each other as they go back and forth with remember this? Akaashi’s stomach aches from how hard he’s laughing, but he’s drunk on mirth and nostalgia (and maybe a bit of the sake) to care. Never mind that their laughs echo in the silent streets (he’ll apologise to the neighbours when he sees them, but not right now) and never mind that it’s nearing eleven, Akaashi is happy. It’s the happiest time of his twenty-two years and yes, he can afford to be silly now, because he’s alone with his best friend and love of his life and who needs masks around someone like that?
      It takes them a good few moments to calm down, giggling every time they heave in deep breaths because the sound is just too funny.
      ‘Oh man—we sure had fun, didn’t we?’ Bokuto muses, wiping away a few stray tears from his eyes. ‘What a time.’
      ‘Indeed.’ Removing himself from Bokuto and standing up slowly, Akaashi turns to face him and holds out his hand for him to take. ‘But I reckon we’re having a great time now, aren’t we?’
      His face hurts from all the laughter, but it doesn’t wipe the smile he has when Bokuto grabs his hand and stands up too, immediately wrapping an arm around Akaashi’s waist.
      ‘Hell yeah we are,’ he says, a ferocious grin gracing his mouth. He leans in to Akaashi’s ear and whispers in it, ‘Last one to the couch has to make breakfast in the morning.’
      Gasping when Bokuto moves away, Akaashi pulls his shirt and his eyes catch the glint of silver for a split second on his hand before he squeezes past Bokuto’s body and into the apartment. Bokuto screeches in mock offence and runs after him. They fall into a heap on their couch—fiiiiiine, I’ll make breakfast tomorrow, even though you cheated!—and Akaashi seals their lips together.
      (Three empty sake bottles and five empty glasses sit on the balcony table, splaying prismed moonlight through the door and into the apartment, highlighting fingers lined with silver, stark against a broad chest and dark hair.)
