The Witch and The Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes x Reader)
Tumblr media
(Credits to GIF owner)
A/N 1: Hey guys! This has been in my drafts for so long. Although it's only 2.1k words, there is so much going on in this story, so I basically thinking about making this a serie. But instead of a complete serie, I'm thinking something like a sitcom. Like it's a world that you are the main character but every part will have a different adventure, I hope I'm clear lmao let me know what you think please!!
A/N 2: These events happen between Civil War and Ragnarok. They pretty much happen at the same time but I changed it a little so it could fit what's in my mind! So basically Ragnarok will happen later after this story. Okay? Okay!
A/N 3: Please bare with my grammar mistakes, English is not my first language!
WC: 2.1k+
Warnings: Mention of trigger words, Bucky being depressed, mention of HYDRA, let me know if I missed any!!
Bucky and Steve landed in Wakanda, relieved to be in a safe haven after their harrowing escape from the US government. Steve had told Bucky that he had a friend in Wakanda who could help him get back on his feet, and now it was time to make good on that promise.
Even though, Shuri ensured them they can help him, it was obvious it was going to take a lot of time. Meanwhile he would need to be put in cryo. Steve didn't want that. He didn't want to see Bucky suffer any more longer.
"No other way? Are you sure about that?" Steve asked Shuri.
Shuri knew Steve was worried about his friend. "I'm sorry Captain Rogers, I'm afraid I can't work as fast as I can with a fully functional brain. It needs to be calm so I don't do any mistake."
While Steve considered his options, Bucky was trying to convince himself everything would be okay. It was not HYDRA, he was in Wakanda and after he was put in cryo, he would wake up as a different man.
"I don't trust myself Steve," he said with a broken tone. "If it's the only way, I accept what it requires."
Steve knew that look. He wasn't sure so he didn't just want to accept and then it hit him. "What if I said I know a friend who could actually help us? She is a powerful witch and extremely experienced. I'm sure she would accept to help you," Steve said, hoping he would accept.
"Why would she want to help me?" Bucky asked, sounding even more hopeless.
"You'll understand when you see her."
-
You, Y/N Odinsdottir Heladottir, were one of the strongest witch in nine realms. You didn't have a father. Your mother Hela, created you from the souls that Asgard lost during battles and Yggdrasil gave you life. You became the goddess of reality. Your powers were raw and unlimited, that's why Hela wanted to train you as fast as possible so you could be a strong warrior among her side for the throne. After Odin banished Hela from Asgard, he took you as his own daughter and Frigga announced you to Thor and Loki as their sister.
Loki adored you immediately. He knew you were special and promised himself, he would do anything to protect this little angel that is his new sister. He could feel your magic. He made a mentally note to train you when you grow up.
-
"I think, she is the goddess of reality, which I don't know what it means, but she was trained to read and control minds. I don't exactly know the limit of her powers but she is a strong one Buck," Steve said hoping he would calm down a little.
"You said she can read minds, I don't want a stranger to see horrible things I've done. What if she saw them and refuse to help me?" Bucky said panicking. He had a chance to get rid of his past but the thought of being rejected made him anxious more than he already was.
"I tell you she's not like that, don't you trust me?" Steve seemed a little heartbroken.
"Don't get me wrong, I knew we were best friends, brothers actually but I don't exactly remember those days Steve. I don't feel that kind of trust just yet," Bucky admitted and just wanted to slap himself. "Why the hell I said that, what is wrong with you? Now he won't help you," he thought.
"Just say yes and she'll be here in no time I promise. I always keep my promise, Buck."
"Okay. I-I want to meet her."
-
"Look I'm not an expert on Asgard but we look like bunch of punks, Steve."
For the last 5 minutes, Steve were yelling your name to the sky, hoping you would hear and come. While he was trying, T'Challa approached to them.
"There is a woman in Shuri's lab, asking for you Captain Rogers. She said you called her," the king said, trying to hide his laugh. "She came from the sky, I thought you brought war to us," he joked.
"I would never do that your highness," Steve laughed. "Come on Buck, let's not keep her waiting, she is a little impatient."
"Is that why we have been yelling to the air last couple of minutes?"
-
"Your technology is impressive comparing to the rest of the world!" you cheered when Shuri showed off her gadgets to you. You both immediately got along well. She spilled the beans about why Steve called you. You suggested to do everything together with Shuri, using your magic and her technology.
"Thank you, thank you princess Y/N. Your magic is quite killer as well," she smiled widely. "Oh, here comes the white boys!" she called.
"I feel like we always meet in extreme circumstances," Steve smiled and hugged you tightly. "How are you, Y/N?"
"I've had better days, unfortunately we lost Loki a while ago, during a war," you said trying to hide your pain.
"We didn't have great memories with him but I know you loved him, I'm sorry for your loss," he patted your back.
You looked behind him and saw a brunette overthinking about everything and a chaos in his mind. You didn't want to just invade his brain but his thoughts were extremely loud so you wanted to help him. "Hi, I'm Y/N," you offered your hand to shake which he gladly took.
"I'm Bucky," he said nervously. He was sure you were the most beautiful woman he had ever laid his eyes on. You blushed lightly and when he realised, he was sure you read his mind. That made him blush too.
There was a thick tension between you, you were sure Shuri and Steve were trying to hide their laughs but you didn't care. "Shuri told me why you needed me, so when do we start?" you cheered, looking at Bucky with big eyes.
"You want to help me?" Bucky said, his eyes filled with hope. "Yes, of course Bucky! I'll do anything I can," you offered him a warm smile. He smiled back, already feeling better.
-
"You are in pain Bucky, I can feel that," you stopped with magic. Last few months have been hard on Bucky. He had to remember every single thing HYDRA had done to him and getting rid of those memories' chains. You didn't even made him remember what he had done to people but even this part were really painful to him.
"I can take it, please continue," Bucky nearly begged you. You were sure he couldn't take it anymore without going crazy so you wanted to stop a little until he feels better again.
"How about I tell you another story of my life in Asgard while you rest? I promise we'll continue then," you offered him a smile, put your hand on his shoulder to ensure him that you are here.
You've been doing this for a long time, whenever he felt overwhelmed, you stopped what you're doing and helped him relax while you told him stories about Asgard. You told him about the palace, the Valkyrie, your mom and dad, your brothers, Thor and Loki and Heimdall. He loved those stories. Every time you tell him, he learned something about you. You were so close with Loki and your mom, Frigga. Odin favoured Thor, that's why you always felt left out. From the colour you loved the most to the planet you loved to be in, he learned every little thing about you.
"That sounds good," he smiled back and laid down.
-
"Loki! Look how fast I am!" You shouted at your brother while riding a horse.
"Be careful my love, you might fall." Loki watched you closely. You were his soft spot. You were sure no one would love you more than he does.
"My children, it's almost time for dinner." Frigga called you both from balcony.
"We're coming mot-" he was interrupted by your scream.
"Loki!" His eyes filled with horror when he saw you crying on the ground, holding your knee. He ran to you so fast and leaned over.
"Hey hey, shh. Calm down pumpkin it's okay. I'm here, you're fine. How did you fall?" He smoothed you.
"S-she saw a snake and scared." You hugged him tight.
"I'll pick you up now and we'll see Eir, alright?"
"O-okay"
-
"And then father forbade him to see me again."
"But you didn't listen," Bucky laughed.
"Of course we didn't," you smirked.
-
"I want to see my brother!" You shouted with your lungs out crying.
"Thor is already here, Y/N."
"I want Loki!" you kept crying as loud as you can. You knew if you did your mother couldn't stand it anymore.
"Enough Y/N! I said you can't see Loki, he's dangerous! He couldn't protect you!" Odin shouted. You were shocked. Tears were flowing from your eyes but no words came out of your mouth.
"That's enough! You scared her enough. I'm taking her to her chambers," Frigga said to Odin, took you in her arms and left.
It didn't matter how much she soothed you, you refused to calm down. She could see you were exhausted but resisting to sleep.
"Oh my little peach, you really want Loki, don't you?"
You nodded your head vigorously, still crying. Frigga gently brushed your hair and wiped away your tears.
"I understand how you feel, my love. You and Loki have a special bond, and it's not fair for Odin to keep you apart. But you must trust me when I say that he's doing it to protect you," she explained softly.
"But why does he think Loki is dangerous?" you asked, sniffling.
"Your father has his reasons, but I believe that Loki is not the monster that Odin sees him as. He's your brother, and he loves you very much. I promise you, we will find a way to make things right."
Frigga held you close until you finally fell asleep. The next day, she called for Thor and told him to bring Loki to her chambers. When he arrived, she sat Loki down and spoke to him.
"My son, I know how much you love each other with your sister, and I can no longer stand to see you separated like this. Y/N is heartbroken without you, and I think it's time that you to understand the gravity of the situation," Frigga said, looking at him sternly.
"Odin believes that you are dangerous, and he's afraid that you might harm Y/N. But I know that you would never hurt your sister. However, you must promise me that you'll never put her in harm's way. Do you understand?"
Loki nodded solemnly, "I would never hurt her, mother. Ever," he felt offended a little. Frigga smiled at him.
"Good. Now go and make up for lost time, and be sure to never let anyone come between your bond as siblings."
You ran towards Loki as soon as he stood up, wrapping your arms around his waist tightly. Loki smiled down at you, and you knew that everything was going to be alright.
"No one is strong enough to break our bond, my little princess."
-
"You really liked Loki then," Bucky asked, feeling a little jealous but covering it with a smile. He knew he shouldn't be jealous, Loki was your brother after all. But he kind of wanted that bond with you, maybe even more. He wanted to keep you on his side, protect you at any cost. Even though he knew, you were perfectly capable of protecting yourself, even more than he can but it didn't matter to him.
"You don't have to be jealous Bucky," you laughed. "Sorry, I didn't mean to read your mind, it's just, you were thinking too loud and I thought there was a chaos going on in your mind," you said blushing.
"It's okay and I-uh," he sighed, trying to collect his words. "I just like to spend time with you, I mean you are so good to me and you know I- I would like to spend more time with you, other than just you helping me with this trigger words. You know, ma-maybe we could go to beach and watch sunset like that," he couldn't believe himself and how he couldn't just shut up. He looked away, he didn't want to see rejection in your eyes.
"I think that would be lovely, maybe you'll tell me your stories in 40's? I shouldn't be the only story teller, should I?" you grinned cheek to cheek. Seeing him relaxed after your answer made you even more happier. "But first, let's get through with this session, shall we?"
"We shall, doll."

offer me that deathless death
pairing: hela x valkyrie!reader
summary: odin sending the valkyries to prevent hela from escaping was a present in disguise.

When Odin had sent the Valkyries to prevent Hela from escaping her banishment, you knew that there would be casualties. You knew there was a chance of you not getting a chance to go home—or your sisters, your family, your friends. Dying in battle was a risk always present, and as a warrior, it is also an aspiration—an afterlife in Valhalla.
So you desperately prayed to the gods that she just kill you now, quick and easy, with one of her necroswords piercing your chest. It's better than having to lie down amongst the dead bodies of your fellow warriors, and your family, stifling your sobs. You're not sure if there's anybody else that survived, trying to blend in as you are right now, but you hope Odin– or someone, anyone, would come rescue.
As you slowly accept that you might not be meeting your demise today, you take a moment to focus and steady your breath, feeling every stiff muscle and wounds as the adrenaline wears off.
You'd almost forgotten about Hela, but as you hear her calculated steps veering closer and closer toward you, your whole body freezes in fear– partly in delight. Finally, she'd end your life.
“I know you're still alive. Don't be afraid, come to your Queen.”
And just like that, she squashes your hope again, the remaining embers of your desire to live extinguished. There's no point in resisting anymore. If she kills you or if she lets you leave, then so be it.
Slowly, you muster all your strength to stand up, dragging your feet to stand before her as she sits on her makeshift throne. Her headdress was nowhere to be found, her jet-black tresses cascading down her back.
She beckons you closer, “Kneel.”
Hela grins as you obey—as you should—mindlessly, your eyes trained on the ground. She lifts your chin up, meeting her gaze. She scans your eyes for any trace of defiance.
She's found none, and she finds that...sweet, that empty look in your eyes as you wait for her to decide your fate.
“If you can satisfy me in five minutes, I might let you live.”
The color drained from your face as a great deal of confusion and disbelief flooded your chest. “W-what...what do you mean, Your Majesty?”
Hela hummed as you addressed her as such, her desire to break you all the greater. “Oh, you know perfectly well what I mean, pet,” she simpers as her armor starts to disintegrate, revealing the pale skin underneath. “Now hush and put that tongue to good use while the offer still stands– or do you prefer to be one with your sisters? Your dead, cold body left to rot in the pits of Hel...” the Goddess wipes the dried blood on the corner of your mouth, “Don't you feel angry with Odin? Sending the Valkyries straight to their death without any help from him...must be painful.”
Tears start to gather in your eyes as you reel it in, and the fact that she's telling the truth makes anger bubble in you. Hela sees the rage starting to spark in your eyes, tears starting to fall on your cheeks. She leans down, your faces so close to each other. She caresses your bottom lip with her thumb, demanding entrance. Her finger presses down on your tongue, opening your mouth. You know what she's trying to do, and despite your weepy state, you comply, sticking your tongue out.
She smiles wickedly as she lowers her sex on your awaiting mouth, a lewd moan slipping on her mouth as she starts to grind on your tongue.
“Go on, cry for your fallen comrades. Cry for your trust the All-Father betrayed.”
You grab on her thighs for support, inhaling a sharp breath. Might as well speed the process, you think, as you begin to lap her folds and suck on her clit.
Hela's wetness starts to flood your mouth, her taste in contrast to this realm. Heavenly.
The Goddess of Death delights in how pathetic you look under her—glassy eyes, tear-stained cheeks, and her arousal glistening on your mouth and chin.
Ironically, she thanks her father for sending his army to her. It was a present in disguise, and she's found her new little plaything utterly perfect.

Is it ok to ask in steve x asgardian reader
What happens when in their wedding the tradition of gifting the bride a cat and thor hands steve a kitten an mentions the ol norse tradtion and steve finds it wholesome and the cat thor gave steve is a Fluffy norweigen forest kitten when its an adult FULL fluff thor adds "they also help with pests and kids"
Tumblr media
For the most part, the wedding was like any other. Vows and rings were exchanged just like on earth. There was also an exchanging of swords, which Steve wasn't sure about until Y/N explained that the exchanging of weaponry united the two families. It represented the responsibility of supporting one another and releasing them whenever there was a need to protect their family. The local blacksmith forged a nice pair for them as a gift.
Steve also liked the part of the ceremony where their hands were tied together. Putting a more literal term to "tying the knot" as a scarf a seamstress did for the wedding tied their clasped hands together.
It was beautiful how they were able to mix the traditions together and the variety of guests that were there. It was now time for the guests to present their gifts to the bride and groom. Like with everything else about the wedding, they got a mix of Midgardian and Asgardian gifts. They were given beautiful silverware, dishes, even furniture made by hand.
It was Thor's wedding present for the bride and groom that stood out the most. A small fluffy kitten he called Revna. Y/N was especially excited to see her, her arms opening up for the little feline the moment she saw her.
Steve, on the other hand, needed a bit of an explanation on why a cat?
"It's to honor the goddess of love Freyja, who was known to have a chariot of cats," his new brother-in-law explained. "Giving one as a gift is essential in building your new home together. She will bring you joy, and protect your home and future offspring."
Well, Steve did like the sound of that. He also loved to see his new bride pressing little kisses to the kitten's head. Revna also seemed rather content with her new mom. Steve swore he'll help take good care of her, both of them will. Could be good practice, too, for when they decide to have children.

Part 2 is here; Here's part 3!
Tumblr media
“Oh,” you gasp as you stumble back slightly before turning to look at her. “My queen,” you mumble bowing messily as she smirks down at you.
She nods her head back to the archway she’s appeared through, a mischievous grin on her face.
“I’m afraid we won’t be staying here, Y/N,” she declares as you look up at her, unsure of what’s about to happen. “I think we might be more comfortable in my chambers.”
“As you wish,” you nod, unsure if you should start to walk forward until she nods her head once more before turning away, waiting for you to follow.
“Oh? Y/N?” She adds, turning once more.
“Yes, your majesty?”
“Leave your dress here.”
She waits for a moment, before you drop your gaze, fumbling with the straps of your dress before slipping it down your shoulders, looking up briefly just in time to see her satisfied smirk before she clicks away, leaving you to finish undressing.
You consider your undergarments for a moment, but remember that she said dress specifically, so you leave them on, still feeling completely naked and vulnerable, padding after her as you fidget with the gold chain around your neck, the emerald swinging, left and right, left and right.
“In here, darling,” her voice beckons as you keep walking down the hallway, cold and dark, echoes clicking and creaking, the only light flickering from candles, casting a soft ember glow.
She’s sitting on the edge of a grand, regal bed. It takes up most of the room, not many other pieces of furniture or knick knacks. It’s bold. It’s regal. It’s her. All gold and velvet black with pops of emerald that have you feeling cold tingles down your spine and something hot between your thighs, like flames so hot they feel cold licking at your skin.
She waves you forward with the wag of a single index finger, tilting her head, raven-black hair falling over her shoulder, black silk falling down her skin with it as you let out a shudder, your breath hitching.
“Sit, my pet,” she murmurs, patting the edge of the bed. “There’s no need to kneel before me, Y/N. Well…not today at least.”
You’re unsure what to think as you walk forward, sitting down, rigid beside her, and then one of her hands is on your thigh, sliding towards your center slowly as you let out a shaky breath at the touch, your stomach flipping deliciously.
Her other hand finds your back, resting delicately against it as you hum, and then her hand goes rigid, sharp nails digging into your skin as you let out a gasp, a velvet chuckle falling from her lips.
“You know I never had the chance to thank you for your service the other day, Y/N,” Hela murmurs, one hand gliding down your thigh as the other raked down your back, both making you shiver, goosebumps rippling down your skin. “And I don’t know which feels better to you,” she breathes. Her fingers trace along your thigh before disappearing and then her nails rake along your back again before they stop, as if to prove her point. Her choices.
“Both,” you squeak, blushing at the admission.
“Well, well,” she laughs softly, pushing your leg open slightly so you’re exposed to her, her hand trailing down along her panties, swiping along the fabric as you let out a whimper. “Wet already, I see. Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are, Y/N? How delicate. And quite the talent. Not many people have heard me make the sounds I made…for you, my pet. And now? I’d like to hear what sounds you can make for me, Y/N.”
“Please,” you whisper, feeling yourself growing wetter, the brunette looking down at your with sharp, deep eyes.
“Try again,” she whispers, pushing you onto your back, her fingers sweeping through your hair as she crawls down you, breathing against your core, your hips bucking up against her, desperate to be touched.
“My queen,” you pant, unable to keep your hips from rolling against her, even as she slowly pulls your panties down your thighs to your knees, smirking and laughing at you, already a whimpering, pathetic mess under her grip with barely a touch, only the idea of what she might do, already driving you absolutely wild. “Please, my Queen. My body is yours. My pleasure is yours.”
“That’s more like it, my pet,” she whispers, dragging her tongue along your hip as you cry out before her head disappears between your thighs, her nose and tongue poking at your wetness slow and torturously.
She’s snickering at you as you roll your hips, trying to gain more purchase, reaching up at her, but she pins your hands down against the mattress.
She licks along your ear as you gasp, her hand finding your neck, pressing firmly.
“You can ask me to touch you, darling,” she whispers. “And I will. But if you want me to Fuck you, you’re going to have to beg me for it.”

a valkyrie was not a mere label. it was a highly respected role, one that was not granted to simply because you were a child of odin. no, the position of a valkyrie was an important one, because every warrior who died in battle, every fighter’s soul, relied on you to bring them to valhalla — no matter what that was for them. heaven, hell, reincarnation — you and your sisters brought them there.
nevermore was seemingly the only available place in which you could reside. you were the youngest of the ten valkyrie sisters, the only one born into the 21st century (as the rest of them were much too old for you to count). odin tried to put his youngest daughter into every school imaginable; public school, private school, boarding school, juvenile detention.
all brought out the same results. you found the material easy and the lack of competition boring, or you were found beating some kid into the ground, your knuckles bloody as adults pried you off of them.
granted, every person you have ever thrown a punch at was deserving of it. but it’s not like the police care about the kid with a broken leg; they care about the person who carelessly broke it with their bare hands.
that was why you found yourself in nevermore, standing awkwardly next to your nine sisters as you loosened your tie around your neck.
the other students didn’t care to hide their stares, their whispers loud and very audible to you as you looked at every single one of them.
“don’t loosen your tie, y/n,” your eldest sister, brunhilde, said with a small look, her arms crossed as she stood towering above the rest of the passing students. “you must look presentable.”
“since when did you ever care about looking presentable?” you replied with a scoff, using one finger to loosen the black tie incompletely. you heard your second youngest sister, gunnr, snicker at that, her laughter quickly hindered by a glare from another one of your sisters.
“ever since father decided to send us to take you here rather than himself,” brunhilde snapped, bitterness evident in her tone as she clenched her jaw. her emerald green eyes flashed in anger; the fact that her father decided not to show up to something like this yet again wasn’t surprising, but it still annoyed her nonetheless.
“he was busy,” eir, the second eldest valkyrie, murmured, coming in yet again as the peacemaker. “besides— this isn’t exactly father’s scene. too many children.”
their conversation melted into the background as your eyes drifted around the courtyard. there seemed to be little cliques within the school — gorgons, vampires, werewolves, sirens, psychics — how cliche. your eyes however, landed on one boy that was painting a raven on the wall, his eyes already set on you far before you noticed him.
his long hair was tied back, his hazel eyes boring into yours as he stopped painting, his hand falling to his side. he was studying you, observing your purposely loosened tie, the sword necklace that hung around your neck, the dagger strapped to your side, and the nine buff women who stood around you. they looked nothing like you, but their energy was strong. powerful. unwavering.
you didn’t break eye contact with him, your eyes narrowing as you challenged him to look away first.
Tumblr media
“y/n odinsdottir." a tall woman who practically screamed elegance interrupted your staring contest, forcing you to look away first. her hair was perfectly pinned up, and her cherry red lips curled into a smile as she looked at you. "welcome to nevermore. i assume these are your sisters?" she questioned, looking at your siblings with a warm smile.
"we won't be here long," brunhilde stated, stepping forward. she seemed to be about the same height as the woman, which seemed to please her greatly. she held out a calloused hand. "brunhilde. you're the principal, correct?"
"yes - larissa weems." principal weems' smile never broke as she shook your sister's hand. wordlessly, she began to lead the ten of you to her office. "i have made living arrangements for y/n - i hope she does well with roommates. one of her other roommates is a new student as well."
this new school was, frankly, a lot fancier than most of the schools you had gone to. it looked old, with too many ghosts and history hidden in its walls, but while the school stood out more than the rest, the people seemed to be all the same. prudes with enough money to have the world in their hands. teenagers who have never been told 'no' in their lives. cockiness and pride seemed to ooze from every crevice.
in a way, you found it amusing.
"it was honestly quite a surprise to find all of you here rather than your father," principal weems commented as she opened the door to her office, "i believe that he had told me that he would arrive." she situated herself into her chair behind her desk, placing her hands on the table and clasping them.
you stood in front of the desk, rolling your eyes at her comment. "he likes to lie," you stated bluntly, ignoring the glare eir sent to you as she offered principal an apologetic smile.
"what y/n means to say is," eir began, absentmindedly toying with one of her long golden braids, "our father is very busy. he has other business to attend to."
"he likes doing business." you continued, "especially on his bed."
one of your older sisters, skuld, hissed a small "y/n," as a warning for your words, making you huff in annoyance.
eir's smile was unwavering and her politeness was undeterred as she laughed lightly, "i apologize for y/n's words. she often.. lacks a filter."
"it's no problem, i assure you." principal weems' smile grew as she looked at you, "she's in very capable hands. later, she will receive a tour from one of her roommates, enid sinclair. she's very approachable; i'm sure they will get along."
that statement made your mask fall for just a second.
friends and lovers were topics that were often unspoken between you and your sisters. to put it frankly, it was hard for valkyries to truly find themselves friends with others or loving another because of something you called 'the glow.' valkyries, being a guide for souls in battle, had the ability to know when someone's death was near. it often appeared as a golden glow around the individual moments before a battle or before a specific moment. to help was to lose your position as a valkyrie. to lose your father's acceptance and appreciation of you. it was the foundation of your position, your one important duty to guide the souls of warriors, but there had been instances where the glow appeared for those you cared for. friends. lovers.
it had happened too many times to your sisters. they had all lost lovers and friends in battle, and had to be the one to guide their souls and leave them for eternity. but there came a moment in time where they all decided to stop caring so much for others. they focused on each other, protecting their own sisters out of fear of caring and losing another.
and when you were born, they warned you of that same fate. they warned you of how hard it was to sense death, to be a symbol of war and death. so to say that you would get along with another and care for them was hard to fathom, because your mind automatically thought of losing them in an instant.
and if you lost them and were not able to guide them, you wouldn't know what to do with yourself.
"i will say that your record is.. only mildly concerning, y/n," principal weems said as she pulled out your folder. she scanned through the pages, licking her finger as she turned and read every offense and crime that ended with you getting kicked out of a school. "you've sent tons of people to the hospital for horrible injuries," she murmured, and you swallowed, mentally preparing yourself to hear the list. "you've broken the limbs of many, gave concussions to many more, and in one instance dropped a teenage boy from a thousand feet above ground."
"all deserved. i hold no remorse for them," you stated, a proud smirk making its way onto your face.
principal weems' brows furrowed as she reached the last page in the folder, the words 'saving grace orphanage' in large letters at the top of the form. "kicked out of nearly 20 homes in the span of 13 years."
your smirk fell, your eyes turning cold as you glared at the principal. next to you, gunnr shifted uncomfortably, her hands clenching and unclenching in the instance she had to hold you back from landing a hand on your principal. "how did you get those?"
"nevermore requires all documents from students," principal weems read down the paper, her look of discontent and worry seemingly growing with every line, "even those that have been terminated." one line specifically caught her eye.
has been found at one location consistently. the owner of the property has claimed that there is no reason for y/n to be there, but she seems to be connected to it. if not found at her foster home, she is most likely found here.
how was it you were only here for a few hours and you now wanted to strangle your principal?
"they have been terminated for a reason," you seethed, "my sisters had them forgotten."
"for very good reasons," brunhilde added, her voice eerily calm as she rolled her shoulders back, fixing her posture. "that's private information only our family knows."
"of course." principal weems shut the folder abruptly, the warm smile (though it was nothing more than plastic to you) returning to her red lips. "shall we bring you to your room?"
Tumblr media
"i didn't know that valkyries could be as young as you."
you raised a brow at one of your roommates, wednesday, her deadpan tone doing little to influence you as you shrugged. "i'm the youngest of the ten," you stated, walking alongside her as you followed your other roommate, enid sinclair, around.
"that sounds like torture. of the worst degree," wednesday said, making enid clear her throat to catch your attention.
truthfully, enid was much more extraverted than you would ever be, but you didn't mind. she talked, you and wednesday listened - it was a good system. and she talked a lot. the fact that she was bringing around nevermore's first valkyrie was something she seemed incredibly happy about.
good for her.
"i already gave wednesday the whole rundown!" enid said with a contagiously bright smile. "this is the courtyard. everyone kind of hang out around here between classes or just.. whenever!" she explained, practically bouncing with every step as she brought you around. "there's a lot of cliques here; vampires, werewolves - like me, gorgons," her eyes landed on a few people around the fountain, her smile faltering for just a moment, "sirens, psychics, the usual."
"did you kill someone in your last school?" wednesday asked, making enid gasp.
"wednesday! i thought we would bring it up later!" enid scolded, frowning as she nudged the dreary girl.
"i was impatient." wednesday's face contorted into one of slight discontent at the nudge, though she (surprisingly) didn't complain.
you however, merely shrugged in response, folding your arms over your chest. "not the one at my last one. i just broke his legs - why?"
"because rumors spread like wildfire at nevermore," enid explained, coming to a stop in the middle of the corridor, much to some students' chagrin "practically everyone's talking about it! i told you that they'd forget about what you did, wednesday," she said pointedly, making wednesday blink, which was frankly a rather large reaction.
you looked at wednesday, eyebrows raising in curiosity. "did you kill someone?"
"two people. not one."
"what was your method?"
"piranhas from my aquarium at home. and you?"
you hummed in appreciation at her method before responding with a curt, "flew up and dropped him from a thousand feet." it made wednesday nod once.
"impressive."
"okay, steering the subject away from death and murder," enid interrupted, awkwardly chuckling as she continued to walk. she came to a stop in front of the boy who had been painting the raven, her smile of relief much too obvious to go unnoticed by you. "xavier! you've made such good progress!"
"thanks, enid." the boy - xavier - turned around, his mouth seemingly going dry when he saw you staring at him. your arms were crossed over your chest, your head tilted up to observe his painting. "you're the one who dropped the guy."
your look of curiosity turned into one of annoyance, your eyebrow raising as your eyes snapped towards him. "what about it?" you challenged, and you heard enid laugh awkwardly yet again.
"nothing. just asking, that's all," a hint of a smirk made its way onto his face, his hand - the one with paint on it - coming out towards you. "xavier thorpe."
"if you think that i'm going to shake your messy hand, you must believe i'm an idiot," you said bluntly, eyes narrowing.
"both an idiot and impolite," xavier responded, and end immediately grabbed you as you tried to take a step towards him, turning you around and briskly walking you the other way.
you didn't want to see him again after your first encounter with him. you didn't like smug people who had nothing to be smug about - the competitiveness in you wasn't cut out for any of that.
it did come in handy however, for academics.
while it wasn’t as fun as war or training was, it gave you enough competition to feel satisfied in victory. public schools were far too easy in your opinion, private schools equally as easy with more prudish people, but nevermore was more interesting. everyone was smarter, weirder, and more witty than any normie— it kept you entertained.
for the past week, you had been dead set on being the best at every class you had. macabre literature, arithmetic, botany, anatomy - you kept yourself busy trying to make a lasting impact on the professors.
you walked into the art class, eyes widening at its size. huge windows allowed for tons of sunlight to shine in, but since it was a gloomy day (or “a wonderful day” by wednesday’s standards), you could only see the condensation and fog on the windows. on one side of the room was sculpture and pottery supplies, while the other had painting and drawing easels set up in a circle with space in the middle for posing.
principal weems wanted you to do something that didn’t include fighting, weapons, or punching, you were going to join wednesday in fencing, but you found yourself here instead.
the class was small and the teacher was as careless as ever, muttering something about how artists must choose their own paths when creating art. but as you walked in and looked at the few faces, your face soured when you realized who you had to sit next to.
“thorpe.” you stated coldly, sitting stiffly in the easel next to him. it was almost funny how out of place you looked, sitting with straight posture on the stool and staring up at the large canvas in front of you.
xavier however, looked as relaxed as ever. he smiled at you lazily as he looked up from his sketchbook. “y/n. how nice of you to grace me with your presence.”
“it wasn’t my choice — weems wanted me to do something.. nonviolent.” you picked up the piece of charcoal in front of you, lips turning down to a slight frown. you hadn’t drawn in forever.
“i heard you tried for fencing,” xavier hummed, watching you pick up art supplies and weigh them in your hand. “you know that fencing doesn't include actual stabbing, right?”
“i do know that, thorpe,” you grumbled, avoiding eye contact as you removed your blazer, leaving only your white button up and messy tie. you rolled up your sleeves, oblivious to the way xavier’s eyes slowly went to your arms.
you were strong.
he had always guessed it — he had gotten stoned with ajax the night prior and they spent the next hour searching up how strong every outcast really was. valkyries, xavier learned, had superhuman strength, agility, stamina, and fighting abilities, so he wasn’t sure why he was so shocked to see your toned arms.
there was a tattoo of a sword on your inner forearm. it was so intricately drawn that he found himself staring at it for a little too long, simply admiring the style. admiring the way it decorated your skin.
"it's stupid how there's no actual stabbing in it," you continued, absentmindedly rolling up your sleeves. you side-eyed xavier, eyes uninterested as you watched the way he stared at your tattoo. "weirdo," you muttered, standing up abruptly and breaking his trance. “i’m going to do sculpting.”
xavier snorted, covering his gawking with his usual confidence as he fixed himself on his stool, spreading his legs just a bit. "since when did you sculpt?" he asked, half disinterested and half curious as he watched you shrug.
"one of my foster parents had a pottery studio." you stared at him blankly, a pause of awkward silence encompassing you before you said a curt, "bye," and left xavier at his easel.
xavier pulled his attention back to his sketchbook, eyes burning holes into his page of a certain pigtailed girl. for an hour he sat there, drawing in his visions on his sketchbook; many of which were of wednesday.
but one page in particular made him stop and stare. in his trance, much too focused on the feeling of his charcoal pencil on paper to care for what he was truly drawing, he had drawn what seemed to be an angel. it flew in the darkness of the page, her arms outstretched and its wingspan wide as she looked up at the top of the page. her hand was holding an invisible hand, but he saw the detail he put into the bandages that adorned her arms and knuckles.
hesitantly, xavier put his hand over the page, watching as the drawing began to move. the angel's arm moved ever so slightly, and his heart thumped loud in his chest when he saw your tattoo on your forearm.
subtly, he looked up through his eyelashes towards where you had been working, his mouth running dry as he watched you start to center your clay on the pottery wheel. you were surrounded by bowls, mugs, and plates of all kinds, being a rather quick worker with a delicate hand for someone who loved to fight. xavier watched you shape the clay in your hands, the substance molding easily as you moved it.
the sight of your eyes snapping up to meet his made him hide his enamor with a lazy smile and an awkward wave, which made you scoff and return to your pottery. but his eyes lingered on you, focused on the way your elbows were on your legs, how you were hunched over and how your arms were messy with clay. how your hair was much messier than when the class started. how your jaw was clenched in concentration, your eyes like a hawk's as you stared at the mug you were creating.
quickly, xavier looked back at his sketched, eyes set on the drawing he had done of you. it was such a specific image; how odd.
Tumblr media
on your first friday in nevermore, enid had dragged you along with her to the harvest festival fair, saying something along the lines of "we have to ride every ride there!" that made you reluctantly agree to go. in any other circumstance, you would have opted to stay home and do anything but go out, but enid was enid, and she had no idea when to quit.
thing - wednesday's little hand friend - also contributed to getting you up and ready for the carnival. he was pretty persuasive.
which was how you found yourself awkwardly standing next to a carnival game after enid ran off with ajax, a boy she very obviously liked. it was confusing how people could be so blind to things like that.
the tight black long sleeve you wore was, in your opinion, enough to keep yourself warm as your body generated more body heat than many others. frankly, you looked pretty grumpy standing next to a carnival game you had already won, one of your hands holding a medium sized teddy bear that you (reluctantly) accepted. if it weren't for the fact that all the games were rigged, then you would have gotten the largest one.
"what happened to enid?"
you groaned as you turned towards the voice, finding xavier standing behind you, his hands in his pockets and his hair down. he was dressed in casual clothing, same as you, but you could recognize that subtle smug attitude anywhere. it was as if the smirk he wore could never get run down.
"went off with ajax. probably on a rollercoaster." you looked him up and down with a discontented look. "why are you alone?"
"i came here with ajax and rowan." xavier shrugged, leaning against the carnival table. a toothy grin crept onto his face, his tone teasing as he continued, "are you willing to keep me company?"
"no."
xavier rolled his eyes at your constant grumpiness, shrugging his shoulders as he quickly changed the subject. "i lost them both a while ago. i've just been walking and looking for.." his eyes left you, landing on some people behind you.
you looked back, immediately connecting the dots as you watched wednesday stand next to a guy near a ride, wednesday (surprisingly) contributing to conversation as they paid you and xavier no mind. an amused smile came on your face, and you held back the laugh you were about to let out. "oh my gods, you like wednesday."
xavier frowned, looking at you incredulously. "i don't," he denied. you watched his body movements with a smirk, observing how he fixed his posture and puffed his chest up ever so slightly out of defense.
"i'm not stupid, thorpe. you just gawked at her like a lovesick fool," you snorted, crossing your arms over your chest again.
xavier found himself staring at your arms, the muscles you had worked hard for easily shown off in your black long sleeve.
"if only you weren't so annoying," he muttered under his breath, sighing. "i don't like her," xavier repeated, following your actions and crossing his arms. he looked at you annoyedly, the amusement that danced in your eyes only pissing him off further. "i think she's interesting, that's all."
"denial is always the first step," you sing songed, your smirk turning into a cheshire like grin. "honestly, you should've seen the look on your face."
xavier scoffed. "what look?"
"the look you always have when wednesday walks by." you were laughing now, your careless teasing and prodding making his presence all the more tolerable in your opinion. "like a lovesick puppy. it's kind of pathetic, honestly - like, haven't you barely talked to her.." your words died out as your eyes caught sight of something you didn't expect to see within your first week in nevermore.
the glow.
you saw the shining gold before you saw who it surrounded. it was blindingly bright particles that floated and emitted a bright light that only you could see. all your senses were honed in on him, far too focused on the soul you had to guide to notice that he was following wednesday, who had trailed off moments prior.
your eyes widened when you saw rowan walk by, the golden glow surrounding him making your eyes cloud over in white. your irises and pupils disappeared into nothing, leaving your eyes a milky white. you felt that familiar tug in your chest, the one that brought nothing but dread and danger, and the immediate pain of loss. the glow that surrounded him was shining horribly bright; his death was really close.
"y/n? hello?" xavier followed your view, a snicker leaving his lips. "oh, i see." he watched as rowan's walk turned into a run into the nearby woods; right after wednesday. "i didn't know your eyes did that when you saw someone you like, y/n -"
"can you shut up, thorpe?" you snapped, shoving the bear towards him before turning around and walking away. your walk turned into a run as you followed rowan, knowing fully well that your agility would make you easily catch up with him. but as with the glow, your mind was only focused on him. nothing else mattered in that moment except for the fact that rowan laslow was going to die.
the sound of a roar made your hold your hand out, your tattoo of a sword glowing and making your sword materialize. on your back, hidden under the confines of your shirt, your tattoo of wings began to glow. that too, began to materialize, your wings writhing and stretching as it ripped through your shirt and spread out around you. pure white feathers flapped a few times, accustoming itself to the space, before you began to lift off the ground.
you flew towards the sound of the roaring, dodging trees and bushes before you saw a large monster over rowan, its claws digging into his chest. wednesday hunched over, catching her breath not too far away, and with no hesitation you flew faster and kicked the monster away from rowan. it let out another screech, one of pain this time, but you couldn't have cared less for its ugly form, for you were too focused on the dying boy on the ground.
the glow never lied. you saw his soul appear next to his body, merely a blue transparent silhouette in your eyes. you swallowed thickly, the pain of such a young soul being lost weighing heavy in your heart as you held your free hand out.
wordlessly, he accepted it. his hand was ice cold against your live one, and with that, you flew. you flew up thousands of feet, moving fast as your wings forced you up higher, higher, higher.
you broke through the clouds, breath heaving as you looked at the silhouette of rowan. the one that used to be alive, with a beating heart and living thoughts.
"there's a light," rowan murmured, his eyes set on the blinding light only he could see. but you saw nothing but the stars and the moon.
you only smiled sadly. "that will take you to where you need to go."
your job was a hard one. you brought them to the entrance of their death and allowed them to go there themselves and be there for eternity. there was no satisfaction from it, other than the fact that they weren't lost. they knew where they had to be.
you felt his silhouette disappear, the hand you were once holding now disappearing into nothing. your eyes reverted back to normal, and you looked around you at the emptiness around you. you were left with only the pain of losing another human.
you let out a sharp exhale, forcing yourself to think of anything but the soul you had just guided to the heavens, before flying back down to the woods. that was one of the hardest parts of your job; you felt the pain of them leaving. you understood that they would be missed, that they had an entire family and friends that would continue to miss them. you felt that pain from the moment you held his hand to fly him to the heavens, to the second he left.
the sound of flapping wings made wednesday look up from where she stood. she had been staring at the drawing rowan had kept in his pocket before your arrival, in which she quickly pocketed it and turned to you. your chest was heaving slightly, your arm bleeding from a twig that had seemingly gotten in your way during your flight between the trees. your wings folded behind you, and you opted to keep them out for as long as possible; it was hard to have them confined for long periods of time.
"did you guide him to valhalla?" wednesday asked, her tone as dead pan as ever, as if the fact that you had huge angel wings was the least of her troubles (which, in that moment, probably was). she was out of breath as well, her once perfect pigtails now a frizzy mess upon her head.
"i guided him to the entrance of whatever he believes in," you replied, looking down at his body and swallowing thickly. to change your focus, you glanced at wednesday, "your lack of response to a near death experience is admirable," you stated, making her nod curtly.
"truthfully, it was the most fun i have had all week," wednesday replied.

Jotunheim. Home of the Frost Giants; where King Loki Laufeyson and his Queen Y/N Odinsdottir sit upon the throne and rule over the snowy realm. Together with their twin sons Áki and Váli, they live inside the royal palace - and this is the masterlist for all the adventures they experience. This is the Ice Flower AU! ❄
General Warnings: pregnancy things, birth, royal things? fluff, suggestive smut, angst? (There will be more specific warnings on each story as well!)
a/n: Well... Welcome to the Masterlist of my 'newest' AU! 😁 This universe is based on the oneshot I wrote a while ago, called 'By the Fireplace'. A few of you know it already, I think. ☺️ I actually never planned to turn this into a whole universe, but @eleniblue hit me up and asked me, if I would write a second part and well... The second part is currently turning into a whole sequel. 😅 An idea hit me right after talking to her and suddenly, I wrote a prequel for this story as well - which is finished and posted. 😁 So... Why not turn it into even more?
(Loki looks more like this 👇🏻 in my AU. Though, he's not so tall. More like Loki in Thor 1. Perhaps a biiit taller. ☺️)

--//--
"Are you sure you're going back to that place? It's so boring."
Loki's question makes you laugh softly, your hands busy with the last items in your suitcase. The spaceship you are on is traveling at high speed, the vastness of dark blue through the windows is somehow comforting. Still, you miss Earth immeasurably.
"I have work to do there." You retort to him, your eyes meeting in the reflection of the mirror. He is leaning against the doorframe, his arms crossed and a short smile on his face. At your reply, he raises an eyebrow.
"You have work here too." He argues, making you smile.
"Maybe I have a more important job there then."
"Or maybe it's not work." He comments and you feel your cheeks warm softly, which seems to be confirmation enough for him, who gives a chuckle as he moves closer. "I remember there was a girl."
You hum, finishing closing your bag and holding it in your hands as you turn to your uncle.
"Natalia is like a sister to me, Loki." You comment as you hang the suitcase on your back.
"So there is another one?" He deduces raising an eyebrow at you and making you laugh.
"Are you saying I wouldn't go back for a sister?"
"Nah, you're Odinson, of course, you would." He retorts, moving his hands to smooth the collar of your shirt. You laugh at the phrase.
"I am no such thing." You mutter, but Loki frowns, and you sigh before adding, "It's not like I was part of that family. We didn't even know who Hela was my mother until a few hours ago."
Loki smiles, finishing his collar. "You are part of this family, Y/N. As much as Thor and I are."
"Do you wish me to start calling you uncle?" You mock making him laugh.
"It's still weird, but I think I'll get used to it." He assures with a laugh. "Besides this, nephews trying to kill their uncles sounds like something pretty mythological."
You laugh. "In my defense, you were trying to destroy my planet."
"Water under the bridge, like they say back there, right?" He casually retorts, and you mumble, bypassing him to head toward the exit. Loki hesitates, and you raise an eyebrow in curiosity. "There is one thing I would like back. Before you left."
You sigh lightly and look down at the floor before returning your gaze to him. "I don't have anymore."
Loki doesn't seem to believe it much and crosses his hands behind his body. "Y/N...."
"I mean it." You assure more seriously, one of your hands smoothing the handle of your bag. "I saw it when you took it, and I just felt I should put an end to it at once. No more fighting over that damn cube. I made a choice not only for Asgard but for the earth as well."
Loki swallowed dryly, but after a moment nodded, his gaze going to the ground. You twitched your fingers. "Are you mad at me?" You asked, and he raised his eyes, smiling weakly.
"Surprisingly, I'm not." He confessed. "I understand. And it is in a way, a relief not to have that between me and my brother anymore." He says approaching again, and to your surprise extends his hand to you, a greeting you've seen him do with the God of Thunder. "Thank you, Y/N. Have a safe trip back."
You smile, entwining your arm with his. "I'll see you around, Uncle."
"Still weird." He jokes making you laugh before letting go.
Despite the distance, the magical portals were very useful. Heimdall gave you a hug goodbye before helping you back to Earth, and you sighed softly as you felt the atmosphere as soon as you stepped on the ground.
The Avengers Compound was silent as you made your walk across the grass to the entrance, but as soon as you were announced by the computer system, you saw through the windows two of your friends rising from their chairs to greet you.
You were just finishing opening the door when Natalia jumped at you, a tight hug that you returned with a giggle.
"Someone missed me." You scoffed though you reciprocated with the same intensity.
"And someone forgot how a phone works." She retorted in fake annoyance, letting you go next. You offered your best apologetic expression, but Nat was making room for Sam to hug you as well.
"Hey, Y/N, good to see you here." He greeted, and you nodded as you repeated the same.
Nat helped you with your bag, and you let your gaze wander around for a moment. "Where are the rest of the folks?"
"Clint is at home, and Tony and Steve have training." Natalia replied. "The twins are probably watching TV."
"No one working as usual." You joked making her and Sam laugh. "I brought presents. Friday, please announce that the coolest avenger has come home."
"They'll think it's Thor." Natalia scoffed as she placed your heavy suitcase on the living room table and you laughed as you moved to the communal kitchen in search of something to drink. Sam just laughed at the interaction.
With the confirmation of the IA, within minutes, the place was filling up. Steve and Tony came stumbling through one of the doors, both in workout clothes and grinning between them, a grin that widened when they recognized you in the kitchen. However, you can barely wave at the two of them before a blue figure appears in your field of vision, an arm being placed between your shoulders and almost causing you to knock over the soda at once.
"Jesus, Pietro!" You complained as you returned the glass to the countertop to greet the excited boy.
"You took your time coming back!" He complained hugging you with a laugh. "I missed you."
"I missed you too, sonic." You retort in the same tone, making Tony laugh at the nickname.
There are lots of hugs, jokes, and comments. But your smile is more hesitant when you meet a certain little witch entering the kitchen half-heartedly.
"Wanda." You greet her a little breathlessly, and she smiles, waving at you.
"Hey. Nice to have you back." She says, blushing over your intense gaze.
"Don't I get a hug?" You tease, and she smiles despite rolling her eyes, nodding before moving closer to wrap her arms around your neck. You both sigh softly as your bodies fit together, but the moment is broken as quickly as it began, because Pietro is speeding past, animatedly commenting on the trip, and you let go of his sister, offering her a wink before walking away into the living room.
There are gifts for everyone - you made sure to bring a little souvenir from all the places you've visited in the last year with Thor, mostly artifacts from the now-destroyed Asgard - and you let the Avengers pick out the ones they like best as you watch from the armchair.
"You look different." Pietro comments a long moment later when everyone has their gifts picked out, Tony and Steve have already gone to clean up from training, and Sam has gone to go over some reports in the conference room. You have to blink away, disguise that you were stealing glances with Wanda before you answer:
"I got a haircut." You retort, making him laugh.
"It's not that." He says, and you let out something that should be a laugh, but is almost a grumble. Natalia and Wanda start paying attention as well.
"A lot of things have happened." You answer vaguely, forcing a smile to reassure them. "It's nothing they need to worry about."
"Are you sure?" Pietro insists, and you smile truer to his concern.
"Yeah, I'm sure." You say. "Family thing."
Pietro frowns. "Have you found out anything? About your family, I say."
You sigh, propping your chin on your hand and your elbow on the couch support. You realized that there was no way this conversation could happen without you actually telling them what happened. So, in the most casual and relaxed tone, you could manage, you started to tell them about the last year. About Asgard, Thor and Loki, and especially Hela and her powers.
"[...] Anyway, it turned out that my parents weren't really my parents, and I'm some kind of prophecy child or something. Thor and Loki are my uncles, and I kind of had to kill my mom in a fight that destroyed my real home. Now, I inherited her powers but got to be an orphan again, and I don't recommend it." You finish, and look away from the shocked expressions of the other three, clearing your throat. "Like I said, it's nothing you guys need to worry about..."
"Y/N, shut up and come here." Natalia interrupts getting up to hold you tight. You giggle awkwardly, but stand up and accept the hug. Soon Wanda and Pietro are also wrapping their arms around you, and you feel your chest warm up. It's a very nice moment, but it's broken when Steve comes back with a confused expression.
"Sorry, am I interrupting...?"
The four of you laugh awkwardly, shaking your heads as you break the embrace. Natalia shakes her head. "Don't worry, Steve. Y/N just needs a little reassurance."
"Or maybe a little human contact, I think she's forgotten what that is." Pietro scoffs, getting a slap on the arm that makes him laugh.
Steve laughs, but soon his expression turns slightly hesitant. "Well, I know you just got here, but we kind of have an important mission on the way. If you want to get to work, your help would be welcome."
You smile, nodding. "Sure thing, Cap."
You tell him, putting your hands in your pockets. "But first, I need to have a talk with Vision." The Avengers look at you curiously, but you offer no more than a nod as you say "Don't be nosy."
Your conversation with Vision is about the Stone in his head. The machine actually didn't even seem surprised when you approached - you found him in one of the empty rooms, analyzing file patterns for Steve - and he smiled as you said it was good to have it back in the compound.
"You want to destroy it." He deduced as soon as you commented that you needed to talk about it, and you hesitated before sighing.
"I do not wish to harm you, Vis." You say seriously. "You are an Avenger after all, and Thor has entrusted the safety of the stone to you. But I have seen things in space. Promises of war, rumors of armies seeking this power more than anything. I wouldn't want Earth to become a target for that."
"I understand, Miss L/N." He says and gives a short chuckle "Should I call you Odinson now?"
You laugh in surprise, shaking your head. "Either one is fine I guess."
Vision smiles, looking out again. "I should say goodbye to everyone then." He declares and you frown, taking a step forward.
"No, Vision, there's no rush!" You assure him with a nervous laugh, "I'll talk to Tony first. You're a machine, right? No offense. Maybe Tony can find a new power source for you."
Vision looks at you with some surprise. "That's very considerate of you, Miss L/N."
With a short smile, you give him a pat on the shoulder. "We are a team, Vision. Come on, I brought gifts for everyone and you didn't get yours. Let's leave this serious talk for later."
–//–
Despite your casual approach to handling everything, things with the Avengers were getting strangely tense. You learned that in the last year Steve had been extremely dedicated to finding his lost friend, and the important mission on the way was related to this.
Lagos was supposed to be simple and discreet, but a name and it became a mess in half a second.
You were helping Pietro to get the civilians out of the fair when the bomb exploded. Wanda only had a second to react, the red magic saving the captain's life but raising the fire toward the hospital. You knew there was no way those people could survive without your help, and you knew you shouldn't have, but you raised your hands in the air anyway.
The explosion spread quickly, glass falling through the air. But no one was hurt. Your eyes were completely blackened, and your knees began to give way, but you held on to your magic. Pietro stood beside you, a confused expression between you and the mess floors up.
"What are you doing?" He asked, exchanging a look with Wanda a few feet away and Steve - who called for assistance over the communicator, wondering at the number of victims - but you only gave a breathless laugh.
"Move Pietro, get them out of there." You asked, and he hesitated.
"But it's on fire..."
"You won't get hurt!" You insisted feeling the pressure in your head increase. "Just go!"
He nodded without much certainty but sped off. As he began to bring the civilians in from the inside, all safe and shrouded in some kind of dark fog that cleared when they were safe, he understood what you had done. You waited for him to confirm that the floor was clear before lowering your hands, falling to your knees and out of breath, with immense nausea in the pit of your stomach.
Wanda was kneeling beside you in the same second, her hands on your shoulders. "Y/N, hey, are you okay?"
"Yeah, just a little tired." You mumble breathlessly, letting your face fall against her shoulder. "Everyone alright?"
Wanda lets out a tearful laugh, her fingers finding your hair as she holds you against her. "Thanks to you, they are."
You hum, feeling your body go weak, Wanda's scent suddenly very comforting. "I'm just going to close my eyes for a minute okay?"
She called to you a few times, soft slaps on your cheeks but you couldn't resist the darkness.
You dreamed about Hela again. Before, Asgard and all that happened, she was like a ghost in your head. Now that you knew who and what she was, and were carrying her powers, it was less frightening, though just as uncomfortable. She was looking at you with disappointment, not for your last fight, but for your choice to betray her and stand with Thor and Loki during Ragnarok.
"You will lose them." Said the powerful figure. "You will lose them all and when you are alone, you will search for the glory that only war could offer you."
You looked around, it looked like a battlefield. So many bodies all around, soaked in water and mud. Your gaze returned to her.
"Where are we?"
"You only destroyed one of them, dear." She says, her black nails finding your cheek. "But it is the soul stone that must be yours. You can't run away from your destiny forever."
Bodies began to rise around you, and you shuddered. Hela smiled at your despair, but as soon as the nails cut your face, you woke up in a jolt.
You were in the Avengers' infirmary and blinked wearily until you got used to the brightness.
Sam almost knocked over his coffee, but Pietro laughed, patting him on the back.
"I knew you were different!" Maximoff commented with an animated expression, and you gave a breathless giggle, coughing a little. He wasted no time in pouring you some water, but before you could drink it you retorted:
"You're not the Maximoff I wanted to see." Receiving a grimace in return. Sam watched you with confusion.
"Why am I the only one who seems slightly concerned about the fact that you have been unconscious for two days?" Falcon asked. You widened your eyes, finishing your water in one gulp.
"Only two days?" You exclaimed excitedly. "That's so cool! Looks like I beat my record, Pietro!"
The boy laughed, shaking his head, but Sam's confusion only increased. The twin, upon noticing, let out another laugh and grabbed your empty cup before starting to unbutton his blouse.
"Dude, what's going on....?" Sam started by taking a step back as Pietro began to undress, but the other only mouthed a "relax" and finished removing the garment. Then he pointed to the spread marks around his skin, deep scars from bullets.
"See those? I'm her record." Pietro clarifies pointing to the healed bruises. "Ultron shot me about two hundred times. Y/N was out for two weeks so I could be here today."
You nodded with a short smile, and Pietro began to put his clothes back on, while Sam looked between you in a mixture of surprise and disbelief.
"So, is your thing bringing back the dead or something?" You asked half unsure, and you sighed, working to disconnect the medical devices from you.
"Something like that." You muttered in response. "Where are the others?"
"Emergency meeting." Sam replied and Pietro finished the last button. "We came to check on you before we join."
"I woke up on time then." You retorted with a smile, stretching. "Give me five minutes to get changed."
"Steve said you don't have to participate if you're tired-" Pietro starts but you laugh, shaking your head.
"Don't worry, I won't hear a word I just want to say hi to your sister."
He grimaces, crossing his arms. "When are you going to stop flirting with her?"
"When she asks me out." You retort without losing your posture, working on your wardrobe. Pietro rolls his eyes, and Sam clears his throat, muttering something about giving you privacy before he leaves. The older Maximoff raises his chin in defiance.
"I wouldn't count on it." He says and you frown in confusion. He smiles. "You know the microwave likes her, don't you?"
You laugh incredulously. "Vision?"
"Mm-hmm." He agrees with a nod, moving to stand on his back because you have taken off your blouse. "And I think he's just waiting for the opportunity to call her out."
You bite the inside of your cheek thoughtfully, your hands busy with the change of clothes Natalia must have separated for you that were left on the armchair. Pietro laughs at your silence.
"I'm just warning you. Maybe you missed your shot."
"Or maybe you're just tormenting me for fun."
"It's definitely fun." He retorts with a laugh. "Just act soon before you end up in the friendzone forever."
You chuckle incredulously, now wearing an Avengers sweatshirt. "Oh, don't worry, I have no intention of being friends with your sister."
Pietro rolls his eyes, grimacing. "Gross." He complains before speeding off, and you chuckle lightly at the empty room, though you can feel a bad feeling on the edge of your stomach.
Wanda and Vision. What a ridiculous thing.
It upsets you enough that you don't even remember the dream about Hela, and you keep a scowl on your face the whole way to the conference room.
You interrupt the presentation of a man you don't know, dragging your feet inside and ignoring the stares at you as you swivel a chair to sit across from Wanda.
"Why weren't you there when I woke up? I wanted to see your pretty face." You ask with a smile, crossing your legs and enjoying the way Wanda's face turns wildly red, all the attention of the room on you both.
"I-I..."
"Y/N, we're in the middle-" Steve tries but you sigh loudly, easily disassembling the chair support to turn the furniture and lay your head against Wanda's lap.
"Do that thing I like with your fingers in my hair, pretty please?" you ask feeling Wanda giggle embarrassed, but her hands moving, one to your shoulder and the other to the back of your neck. Steve grumbles.
"General Ross, I am sorry for the interruption." Says the Captain, and you blink your eyes forward, only now becoming aware of the presentation that was going on in the room. "Y/N just got back from recovery."
"No problem, Captain Rogers." Retorted the other man with a false cordiality. You could feel the dishonesty in his aura, and Wanda's gentle caress of your hair was the only thing keeping you calm. "It's actually a good opportunity to welcome Miss L/N back to both Earth and the Avengers."
You offered him a fake smile, moving your hand to Wanda's on your shoulder to play with her fingers, feeling her sigh softly. Ross cleared his throat and resumed the presentation.
"Your brother is tormenting me" You warned in thought the girl behind you, and held back a sigh when her fingers scratched the back of your neck.
"Is he?" she retorted mentally. You nodded in your lap, and she asked, "What did he say?"
"Something so ridiculous I thought it was a joke." You retorted, blinking away from the presentation that you weren't absorbing any words. "He told me Vision likes you."
Her touch stopped. You frowned, thinking to complain, but Wanda shrugged. "Aren't you going to say that's ridiculous?" You insisted, but she let go of your hand and you felt your heart speed up. You were getting up to look at her, but your gaze noticed the presentation, quickly reading something about Lagos and you noticed they were looking at her.
"That's enough." Steve spoke and the presentation was interrupted. "No one was hurt, Ross, this approach was unnecessary."
"With all due respect, Captain, but there was considerable damage in terms of structure." Argued the mustachioed man. "Furthermore, without Miss L/N's skills, the outcome of the people in that building would have been very different. Considering Miss L/N's background, we can expect that she will not even be present on earth at all times. The variants of a situation where she cannot revive the wounded must be considered."
You ran your hand through your hair. "I'm sorry, what are you saying?" You ask half confused, having only caught half of the presentation. Before Ross can say, Pietro lets out an incredulous laugh.
"They're saying it's Wanda's fault the hospital blew up." He accused angrily, getting to his feet. "Which I think is utter bullshit!"
Ross held up his hands with a nervous laugh. "No one here is saying it's anyone's fault!" He tried to justify himself, but you blinked indignantly, picking up on all the things that were happening on the screen now. The news about the Avengers, the way they were being called Terrorists even if no deaths, the pressure for a response.
"I have brought diplomacy to everything that is happening, and I hope you can see that this is the best solution we have found." Continues the man as he pushes a white paper on the table toward Wanda.
You reach for it first, staring at the title Sokovia Accords in disbelief.
"Are they calling her a terrorist?" You ask indignantly as you watch the television. Ross sighs.
"It's an unfair term, but..."
"We were there for a chemical weapon." You retort getting up. "She grabbed the bomb from the fair, it was going to go off underneath and bring the building down on those people." You continue to reason, grabbing the item from the table and in a second, the book is flying and shattering the glass screen of the presentation. All the Avengers stand at once, and the Agent who came with Ross grabs his holster. You step forward, grabbing the General's collar and lifting him to the ground. Steve raises his hand so the Agent doesn't shoot.
"You don't come into my house and threaten my girl. Ever." You warn with darkened eyes. "Go away before I break your neck."
Ross pales like his own beard but swallows dryly. "You can't threaten an official-" He starts but you immobilize him, his face pressed against the broken television. Just one push and it's going to start cutting.
"Y/N, please, you're going to make things worse." It is Nat who says, stepping forward as the others hold their breath. There is a voice in your head, a whisper, begging you to push a little harder, but you sigh, and let go, giving Ross room to recover, his face red with fear and shame.
"This sort of behavior is unacceptable." He complains, but you're not even listening properly, your whole body vibrating with anger and energy. "I just won't arrest you right away, given the circumstances of your recovery, Miss L/N."
You ignore him, catching a few scraps of Steve's conversation trying to calm the tempers before the man leaves the room, your attention diverted to the Accords book - to which you use your magic to draw back into your hands and read the clauses.
When Steve approaches you again, furious at what has happened, you don't even flinch.
"Don't you ever do anything like that again!" He commands seriously with an impassive face. "You simply lost your head and threatened an officer!"
"You know a lot about losing your head, don't you, Rogers?" You retorted between teeth, your eyes glittering with anger as you pushed the accords against the captain's chest. "Don't forget who didn't see the damn bomb in the first place." You accuse surprising him, and Steve swallows dryly, picking up the item before it falls to the ground.
"We should probably talk, all together." Natasha declares to the room with some hesitation, looking between you, Steve, and the rest of the team, who quickly agree.
Your natural reaction is to walk over to Wanda but your heart breaks when you notice her shy and crestfallen posture, only to feel a new wave of irritation when Vision strokes her shoulder and sits down next to her. Pietro uses speed to take the other seat, giving you a knowing look and you bite back an annoyed grunt, deciding on the couch behind them.
The Avengers start talking for long minutes about clauses and laws that don't interest you - all your attention is on the shiny strands of hair that seem so soft in front of you, and you play with your fingers, resisting the urge to touch them.
"Y/N, you're not even listening! That's what I'm talking about!" Exclaims Tony suddenly, and you only blink away from your bubble because you heard your name. "We're not used to taking responsibility for our actions. She threatened an officer and is daydreaming in the middle of the meeting!"
You roll your eyes. "I'm all ears."
Tony sighs impatiently. "And what are we talking about all this time?"
"Boring stuff." Your answer makes Tony roll his eyes, but Nat, Wanda, and Pietro hold back a laugh.
"Y/N, take something seriously for once in your life, if possible." Insists the Iron Man, and you sigh loudly, sitting up.
"I'm half Asgardian, Tony." You declare. "Most of the clauses in the accords don't affect me, I can fly off-planet whenever I want. But from what little I read and know about laws, the agreements are breaking a few dozen constitutional walls here."
The Avengers look surprised, but as you stand up to get a drink, Vision gestures that he agrees with what you are saying.
"A quick read-through on the agreements confirms several irregularities." He says, and you smile, muttering something like 'I told you so' as you pour yourself some whiskey. "But this is only a draft, the first attempt at diplomacy. I imagine the petitioners will come up with new versions by our next meeting."
"And what does that mean in the long run?" Sam asks, getting a sigh from the robot.
"That a decision will need to be made." He says. "And that those who don't sign, will suffer consequences."
"Wow, I came back to a divorce." You sneer turning your drink around in one go. "I'll keep Wanda and the cars."
Tony rolled his eyes, but you were smiling because the younger witch blushed and looked away. Pietro and Nat laughed.
"We need to make a decision about this." Tony continued, but you were pouring him a drink, and handing him the glass.
"Vision is going to be our bargaining chip." You let everyone know surprisingly. "Ross wants something to say he's in charge, and I want to destroy that shiny stone. Find a new power source, and offer Vision as a gift of trust to the united nations. The Avenger with the power to overpower all the others in case of a confiability-breaking situation or something."
Your suggestions leave everyone speechless, but you don't much care and join Tony in another drink.
"That's frighteningly genius." He mutters, and you smile, shrugging.
"We're going to need you too, Mr.Billionaire." You say. "Your monetary influence is our biggest advantage here. The decisions and pressures you make represent the team. If you sign, and others don't, we are all treated like criminals."
Tony frowns. "I wouldn't let you guys be treated like that."
You laugh, patting him on the shoulder. "Of course not, Tony, you're a sweetheart." You say with a slight sneer in your voice that he doesn't catch. "Now use that brain of yours to find a solution for Vis. I'm going to need a car."
"For what?"
"I want to take Wanda on a date."
The room lets out loud grumbles mixed with laughter and impatient sighs, but you laugh, raising your hands in surrender.
"I'm just kidding, Jesus!" You say laughing, and meeting the other girl's embarrassed gaze, you give her a wink. "I can wait until things are settled." You mutter, and she smiles, but the moment is interrupted because Pietro is grunting loudly:
"Stop flirting with my sister!"
Nat rolls her eyes, gesturing between you. "Enough, out you three. Tony and Vis have work to do, and Y/N has to prepare an apology speech for today's scene."
Steve clears his throat, getting up even though his name was not mentioned by his widow. "I have to go." He says without looking at you, and you exchange a look with Nat, who decides to follow him.
The next few days go by very quickly for you. There are remediation meetings and training, but Tony is really making progress with Vision's story.
Your desire was to stay in the compound, stealing glances and touches while cooking or training with Wanda that made her blush, but after your little anger scene with General Ross, your presence was requested in Vienna, for the official meeting regarding the Sokovia Accords with the Avengers. Natasha made you wear a suit.
"I look ridiculous." You complained as you straightened your collar for the ninth time, and she laughed beside you, turning her body toward you.
"You look lovely." She contradicted by running her fingers along your shoulders. "Wanda said the same thing when you left."
You rolled your eyes with reddened cheeks, which made Nat smile. "How are things between you two?" She asked curiously, and you sighed.
"She's playing with me." You replied sullenly, and Nat laughed with a frown.
"Really?"
You hum like a child. "I flirt with her all the time, but she has never made a move, can you believe it? And Pietro tells me that microwave has some kind of weird interest and I'm stuck here instead of being with her right now."
Nat laughs, finding your pout adorable. "God, you've come back like a crybaby from space." She mocks affectionately, straightening your tie, "I don't think you're being very fair to her, Y/N. You were gone for a whole year, and Wanda is pretty reclusive, Vision is her closest friend in the compound, even to me she doesn't open up easily. Maybe she just thinks you flirt for fun."
"That's bullshit!" You defend yourself indignantly, and Nat gives you a warning look to tone it down when some officers pass you in the hallway and give you a surprising look for your speech. "Damn, she's a telepath, how can you not see that I'm completely crazy about her?"
Nat laughs. "First of all, gross." She jokes. "Second, I would try to talk to her. Like an adult, please. But for now, I need you to focus on your public apology, okay?"
You sigh, nodding. "Sure, boss."
You grumble, but Nat laughs, squeezing your cheek before leading the way into the room where the conference was to take place.
Many hands are shaken, many names you were not going to memorize, but then, another explosion.
You felt death before it happened. A speech is interrupted and then screams.
The scene was different to your eyes, a lake much like the one in your dream forming and replacing the destroyed conference room. You saw a fallen man and ran to him.
"Sir?" You called out to him in concern, your hands on his wounded chest. "Can you hear me?"
He gasped, his lost gaze meeting yours. "The time of my rest has come."
You shook your head, pressing the wound on his chest. "No, I can help you..."
He denied it, smiling at you. "It's time, child. I'm ready. " His hands found yours on his chest, giving a gentle squeeze that makes your heart race. He murmured something in a language you didn't know, and his eyes closed. You wanted to bring him back, but his soul was ready to leave, and you couldn't even feel him anymore.
Other sounds became louder, other victims, and you let him go to help others.
When you awoke again, you were in a medical ward. Pietro had a bandage placed on your head.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save the king." That was the first thing you muttered to him, but he shook his head, wiping away some worried tears and smiling at you.
"I'm just glad you saved yourself." He says, stroking your arm for a moment. You find his seriousness strange.
"What happened?"
He swallows dryly, his accent thick as he answered: "A bomb in a truck. One death confirmed, but over 70 people somehow miraculously safe."
You grunt, turning over on the bed. "It's smaller than Lagos."
"But it's still a lot." Pietro insists, helping you move on the bed. "Things are bad around here, Y/N. You've been out for a couple of days, not longer than last time but your vitals are crappy. Natasha said you should rest and I agree with her.”
You grimace at the request. "You guys talk like I'm starting the fights."
Pietro sighs, denying with his head. "It's not like that, but you're right." He says. "Your idea with Vision seemed to have been great, but things got tenser with the death of the King of Wakanda. In addition, they're saying that it was Steve's friend who planted the bomb, the Winter Soldier. Things are getting worse very quickly, and Natasha says that you should prioritize your health. I think the same thing."
"It's not like I can die." You grumble getting up, and Pietro does the same.
"You don't know that!" He retorts with emotion. "And honestly, I don't want to test the possibility."
"How sweet." You scoff, and grunt when he gives you a pinch.
"You get so annoying when you come back you know that?" he accuses upset, making you sigh in apology. Pietro is right, you always have episodes of anger, irritability, or aggression when you exceed the uses of your powers. Natasha is probably the only one accustomed because Shield would love to use this to clean up the mess, but the other Avengers are always worried or surprised by the change.
All you offer is a grumble, turning to leave while ignoring the boy's request.
The compound is strangely quiet. You had expected the team to be around, but apparently, more than half of them were in Berlin dealing with the consequences of the attack on the United Nations.
You took a long shower before joining the one person who never made your mood worse no matter what she did.
"You're awake." Wanda commented with a smile as soon as you entered the kitchen, where she was beginning to prepare to make dinner.
"And you weren't next to my bed. Again." You retort to tease her, enjoying the pink that appears on her cheeks. "I'm starting to think you don't like me that much."
Wanda smiled, shaking her head. "My brother seemed concerned enough for both of us. I thought it best to give him some alone time with you."
You grimaced in disgust at the insinuation, sitting down on the countertop as you looked at the girl. "How awful it would be if the wrong Maximoff was into me." Wanda let out a short laugh, hiding any further reaction as she looked down, moving some pans around. You licked your lips before speaking again. "Are you grounded too?"
She frowned, raising her eyes to you again. "What do you mean?"
Before you could answer, Pietro was speeding into the commode, a disconnected cell phone in his hands.
"We're not allowed to leave." He declares with clear annoyance in his voice. "Stark said something about avoiding another public incident, whatever that means, and the enhanced team members should stick around."
"Typical." You mutter with no surprise, leaning over to look at the ingredients that Wanda separates. The witch however lets out a grumble.
"That's not fair." She complains in her sharp accent, making you look at her intently. "We didn't do anything wrong. Y/N saved half the hostages. They are treating us like children."
"I can leave when I want." You retort casually. "Natasha is keeping me here because she thinks I'm getting sick, which is ridiculous. And you two are grounded for being the coolest in the team."
Pietro laughs, but Wanda frowns in concern. "What do you mean getting sick?" She asks taking a step toward you. "How are you feeling?" Her hand finds your cheeks, and you feel your skin warm, surprised at the sudden affection.
"God, your eyes are so pretty." You confess in a breathless sigh, causing Wanda to giggle embarrassedly and Pietro to roll his eyes.
"You're both ridiculous." He comments. "Since we can't go out, I'll be staying in my room playing video games. Meanwhile, get a room." He teases, speeding away and leaving you both alone. Wanda chuckles awkwardly, pulling away to continue dinner, and you bite back a smile as you watch her.
"What are we having for dinner?" You ask casually, resting your hands on the counter. Wanda sighs, checking the cabinets, and standing on tiptoe to look at the topmost drawers. The movement immediately draws your attention to her legs, and you bite back a sigh.
"What do you want?" she asks distractedly.
You.
Your thought is instant, and from the way she flinches and her cheeks blush hard, she has definitely listened. But you smile, not waiting for her to work up the courage to turn to you again as she adds, "Anything is fine."
Wanda nods softly, and you make no effort to disguise that you are watching her. She thinks she is doing a good job despite her trembling hands and the way she is blushing at the attention.
"You still haven't told me about space." She comments a moment later as she is chopping vegetables. You blink away from the curve of her cheeks, having been counting a few barely noticeable freckles for the past minutes while she cooked.
"What do you want to know?" You retort low, wishing to get back to counting. She smiled short.
"Did you have fun?" she asked without taking her eyes off the activity.
"Sounds cooler than it actually was." You replied, settling down on the countertop to hug one of your knees and rest your chin on it. "I have more fun when I'm with you."
Wanda feels her heart racing, for the thousandth time that afternoon. You were irritably good at that, leaving her speechless. She smiles shyly, not meeting your gaze.
"I have fun with you too, Y/N." She confesses while finishing with her vegetables. You however let out a soft sigh.
"It doesn't seem like much, you've been avoiding me." You accuse half annoyed, surprising her. She pushes the food into a pan and focuses all her attention on you.
"What are you talking about?" She questions. "I don't avoid you."
"You've been spending a lot of time with Vision." You retort narrowing your eyes to her. She makes an amused grimace.
"He's my friend."
"So you agree? That you're avoiding me to be with him?" You accuse back, and Wanda gives an incredulous laugh, shaking her head.
"No, I haven't done anything like that." She defends herself. "You just got back, and you've been busy while Vision hasn't. And you're my friend too, I wouldn't avoid you."
It's your turn to laugh, raising an eyebrow at her.
"I'm not your friend, Wanda."
She is taken by surprise, getting it the wrong way, or at least not the way you want her to. Swallowing dryly, she puts more distance between the two of you as she goes back to cooking.
"I know you've been away for a while, and we don't really know each other that well, but I thought..."
You cut her off with a wave of your hand, stepping down from the countertop and advancing against her until Wanda has her body pressed between the wood and yours, her breath hitched by the sudden closeness.
"I guess I didn't make my intentions clear enough." You whisper, placing your hands on either side of the marble, consequently narrowing the space between you even further. Wanda's eyes widen, and she swallows dryly, trying to keep her gaze on yours. "I don't want to be just a friend."
Wanda lets a shaky breath escape, finding it hard not to break the distance. "Y/N..."
"I want to kiss you." You confessed breathlessly, leaning in until your mouth was at the height of her neck, the brush of your lips on her skin making her shudder and close her eyes tightly. "And I wanna worship every inch of your body." You continued, moving one of your hands off the countertop and onto her waist, and down to the edge of her skirt, playing with the fabric between your fingers. Your mouth found the height of her ear, a soft sigh that made Wanda's legs go wobbly. "And I wanna know how you taste." You confessed as your fingers strode up to her thigh, moving dangerously up the inside until Wanda's hands gripped your waist for support, the muscles instinctively quivering and unbalancing her, getting a wicked chuckle from you. "But first, let's have dinner together." You warned, pulling away at once with a satisfied smile.
Wanda's face was very warm, and her head was down, trying to normalize her breathing and heartbeat.
You moved relaxedly to continue the food preparation as if nothing had happened while Wanda could barely focus on her own thoughts, the ghost of the feeling of your hands warming her body entirely.
"Don't play games with me." She asks in a whisper, meeting your eyes again. Your expression is mixed with surprise and confusion, your hands busy washing the rice but your head turned toward her. Wanda takes a deep breath to gather courage but clenches her hands together as she speaks. "I don't want to be a flirt, Y/N. I'm not good with this, feelings I guess. If you care about me, I need you to tell me."
In no hurry, you turned off the water faucet and dried your hands on the towel. Then you turned to Wanda and kissed her so hard that she stumbled backward, her back hitting the refrigerator. She gasped, taken by surprise, but kissed back the next moment, melting against you. Your hands moved to her waist, and then her thighs, lifting her easily to sit her on the countertop as her hands closed behind your neck. She scratched the back of your neck, kissing you back intently until your head was spinning, but you had to tell her how you felt.
Breaking the kiss between gasping breaths, you slowed down until you met the fully dilated pupils and swollen lips of the girl in front of you.
"You are my favorite person in the entire universe, Wanda Maximoff." You confess to her sweetly, your hands on her thighs. "I find you fascinating and funny, and spectacularly brilliant. I wish I had asked you out the moment I laid eyes on you, but it wouldn't have been appropriate to do that in the middle of a fight." You continue, getting an affected chuckle from the other that makes you smile as well. "I wouldn't have gone anywhere if I knew my trip would make you question my feelings about you. Because I am completely in love with you, and you should know that."
Wanda's eyes fill with tears, but she smiles with relief, nodding as she moves her hands to her cheeks. "I know now." She says, breaking the distance to kiss you softly. Before you can increase, she breaks away, giving a gentle tug on your bottom lip that makes you grunt with dark eyes. "I'm in love with you too, in case it wasn't obvious."
" Hmm, it wasn't." You retort amusedly, scratching your way under her skirt, and smiling at the way she panted. "I was beginning to think you liked the piece of tin back."
Wanda has trouble keeping her eyes open, but retorts, "I don't see him that way."
You hum in approval, your fingers meeting the sides of her panties under her skirt, and playing with the fabric as your mouth kisses her neck softly, the gentle pressure being more than necessary for her to let out a sound much like a whimper that sends a strong wave of heat to her center. "God, those sounds you make darling..." You pant against her neck, leaning your face to calm your breathing.
She moves her hands to pull your face back to hers, kissing you with intensity and you sigh as you match, letting your arousal fill your senses. Wanda entwines her legs around your waist, pulling your body against hers and the new friction makes you let out gasping sighs of pleasure against each other's mouths, smiling into the kiss that seems to get more intense by the second.
When your hands shift to move her panties, however, a loud noise attracts your attention, and the kiss and the moment is broken immediately by the presence of two horrified men.
"In the middle of the kitchen." Clint declares with a mixed expression of shock and weariness, while Pietro seems torn between starting a fight or digging a hole in the ground. Wanda mumbles in embarrassment, hiding her face in her collarbone as your hands move out of her skirt, and you lick your lips trying to push the wave of arousal away.
"Forget what I said Clint. Tell the captain we can't help because I'm going to kill Y/N." Pietro then declares, and you have to let go of his sister to escape his attempts to hit one of the pots on your head.
Clint sighs impatiently. "We don't have time for this." He complains about the scene, and you cover your face to defend yourself from a blow that never comes because Wanda uses magic to keep her brother away from you, an easy laugh on her face.
"Whatever this is, work it out later. Steve needs us."  Clint says seriously. You sigh.
"I'll sit in the front seat." It is your final statement.
–//–
You're not sure how the fight ended, but you know that the pressure on your head can't be good.
This medical area is definitely fancier than any place you've ever been through.
And this time, Wanda is at your bedside.
"Is that grumpy old man okay?" Your question comes out hoarse and tired and makes Wanda jump out of her chair. She has her hands on your face at the same second, but she smiles.
"God, you are awake." She gasps, resting her forehead against yours. You laugh half-heartedly.
"How long?"
"Too long." It is not Wanda who answers, but a mechanical voice you know well. Vision is wearing a ceremonial outfit, but what attracts your attention is the lack of the stone on his head. You frown, but Wanda pushes your shoulders back when you make mention of getting up. "You have to rest, Y/N. The fusion must be more painful now that you're awake."
"What are you talking about?" You ask confused, but feel a pang of fatigue hit you as soon as you make the slightest mention of getting up again. Wanda strokes your hair.
Vision sighs almost ashamed. "The conflict was worse than expected. The changes in my main software for the Sokovia agreements ended up giving our opponents authority on my remote functions." Said the robot, and you sighed impatiently.
"English, please, Vision."
He hesitated, and Wanda replied, "Ross had control during the fight, Y/N. Because of the consents. When you refused to cooperate, Vision shot you."
"I remember that." You retorted. "But I saved Rhodes, didn't I?"
Wanda sighs, nodding. "At a very high cost, dekta." She says moving her hand to your cheek. "Your powers were drained because of the injury, and you still pushed a little harder to make sure James was okay. You were out for almost three weeks."
You let out an exclamation. "Damn, I missed my score." You murmur casually but are sorry when Wanda whines.
"Please stop joking about it." She almost begs, her face reddening. "I almost... I almost lost you."
You swallow dryly, moving your hands to interlace with hers. "Oh, Wanda, I'm so sorry." You say feeling very bad all of a sudden. "I'm not going anywhere, I promise, okay?"
She sniffles, shaking her head, not seeming to believe much. You sigh, squeezing your fingers together. Vision clears his throat.
"Your powers have changed during your recovery, Miss L/N." Declared the machine as you approach. "When we brought you here, a kind of magical aura was wrapped around you. It claimed the stone in my head." He counters gesturing to his own forehead. "It removed it before any of us could react, and it came to you. It's there now, somehow it was absorbed into your body. The scientists in Wakanda were able to reconnect me while you're asleep."
"That's a lot of information." You mutter blinking in confusion, and Vision smiles in understanding.
"Rest then." He says placing a hand on your shoulder. "You will have time to absorb it all."
He nods in farewell and leaves the premises. Wanda wipes her face, but when she makes mention of doing the same, you hold her hand.
"Stay here with me." You ask, and she looks at you with a frown.
"You're not even sorry." She suddenly accuses, and you blink in confusion.
"For what?"
She lets out an incredulous laugh, releasing your hand. "Do you realize how worried or scared I was? You weren't breathing, Y/N! I just-" she choked, shaking her head and trying to stop crying. "I can't do this."
You forced yourself to sit up, ignoring the physical pain to question her, "What are you saying, Wanda? You said you cared about me."
She looks at you with indignation. "I do care!"
"Then what's the problem?"
"This is the problem!" She retorts gesturing. "You being irresponsible and reckless is the problem! Me being in love with you is the problem! I can't do this, Y/N. I can't breathe when I think about the possibility of losing you, you see? And you clearly have no problem making sure that doesn't happen. So, no, I can't do it, because I'm not going to spend my life holding my breath every time you're working."
You blink in confusion, speechless for a moment. "Wait, are you breaking up with me? I haven't even asked you out yet."
Wanda stands up irritated, and you grunt in pain asking her to wait. "You can't take anything seriously, can you?" She accuses hurtfully, and you sigh.
"I take you seriously."
"That's not true." She retorts with tears in her eyes. "You say nice words, but your actions are selfish. I want you back when you go on a mission, Y/N. Do you understand what I'm saying?"
You nod, running your hand through your hair. "If you want to be with me, why are you trying to finish what we didn't even start, witchy?"
Wanda sighs. "I'm terrified." She confesses then, twisting her fingers together. "Watching you these last few weeks has been too much. Part of me still thinks I'm hallucinating that you're awake."
You offer a small smile, extending your hand for her to approach. "Come see how real I am."
Wanda sighs deeply, but moves closer, until she lies on the stretcher with you and hugs your body, relaxing as she feels your arms around her.
You stroke her hair, enjoying the warmth. "If I promise to be careful, will you take me to a date?"
Wanda laughs softly against your collarbone. "Why not the other way around?"
"I've never been on one." You confess letting your fingers trawl through the brown strands. "Growing up as a Shield pet doesn't exactly give you many opportunities for that sort of thing, you know? I'd like to go on a date with the girl I like."
Wanda hums, pressing her body more tightly against yours. "I understand." She murmurs into your skin. "But you're the one who owes me dinner, dorogaya."
You chuckle softly, feeling your eyes heavy. "We can have a romantic dinner in Paris, like in the movies. And then we'd make love all night under the stars."
Wanda lets out something like an embarrassing grumble, sinking her face against you and making you laugh softly.
"Just recover first." She murmurs, and you nod softly, finding the rhythm of gentle strokes in her hair that makes her sigh contentedly.
"I'll find a way to apologize for the scare, sweetheart." You assure her, moving your face to kiss her forehead. "And I promise I won't do it again."
Wanda swallows dryly. "Thank you."
“Don’t mention, little witch.”

Updates And The Rose
Hey so this is going to be about where I am in releasing new fics and how I’m going to continue to write them.
Edit: I don’t really like using Y/N so I’ve started using actual names. I’m just choosing random names every fic I write.
I’m just gonna come right out and say it. I’ve lost motivation to write some stuff but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to write it. Especially since one of the things I’ve lost much interest in writing is Something Amazing.
That being said despite that I still really want to finish writing it and get all of it out. I’ve seen a couple other creators do this thing with a rose and they update so we are going to do that. I’ll explain more in detail but I’ll be listing who I’m doing it for first.
Wanda Maximoff
Sharon Carter
Peggy Carter
Maria Hill
Hela Odinsdottir
WandaNat
ValCarol
So this is how it’s going to work:
You will send a 🌹to me by going to the place you’d normally send requests in my pinned post. You will add the name of whatever person is on that list that you want.
When you do I will write 300-500 words in one of their fics that I have. After I have done that I will post 50-100 word sneak peak for that person.
When I’ve finished all the fics I have for a person their name will be crossed out and you can’t ask for that person anymore.
Once I’ve crossed out four of them I’ll post two fics immediately after a poll is taken. If you have any questions feel free to go into the comments and ask them. I will try to answer them to the best of my abilities. I will have in link in my pinned post to this so you can see who’s been crossed out or not.
After all the names are crossed out I’ll start posting all of them. Not on the same day. Then I’ll open up the fic requests and I’ll continue to except roses. I will but the names of the people here.

Narrator: And that’s when he (Thor) knew, he fucked up. Y/n: Brother? Did you just insult my cooking? Thor: Nope, I didn’t say that. Loki: I’m not going to hold her back. Y/n: *reaching for her dagger*
Bucky: Thor, if I was you… I’d run. Thor: *running away*
Y/n already chasing him: THOR ODINSON, GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE SHIT!!!!!
Loki: James, you’re not going to hold Y/n back? I mean, she is your girlfriend. Bucky: No, I’m not. Thor ate my pop tarts. Loki: Huh, Thor ate mine too. That’s why I’m not going after Y/n too. Thor in the distance: OW!!! I said I was sorry! Y/n: I don’t care. Jarvis: Mister Stark, it appears that Miss Y/n stabbed Mister Thor in the left arm 5 times. Tony slapping himself in the head. Loki and Thor: *screaming*
Y/n racing in: What’s going on Loki?
Thor: Why are you asking Loki what’s going on if I’m here too?
Y/n: Loki never screams unless something REALLY bad has happened. You, Thor, you scream when you get the chance

Forge of the Heart
Tumblr media
*Prologue*
You were sent, along with your older brothers Thor and Loki, to the Council of Elrond on your father, King Odin’s, behalf. While at the Council, you were met with odd stares, especially by the men of Gondor. You took the interaction as one of curiosity, not many have seen an Asgardian, let alone an Asgardian woman. That was until you heard whispers of how a woman was accepted into the discussion chambers and how it may ‘scar your fragile mind”. Before you could speak out on your behalf, Aragorn, a Ranger you had met a handful of times in your travels, spoke,
“That is y/n Odinsdottir. She deserves respect as much as you would show her kin.” You turn your head to Aragorn and give him a nod, he nods back. You take your seat and wait for the meeting to begin. Elrond took his seat and started the meeting. It was about a matter of great importance, what to do with the One Ring. Many shared their opinions, a few of which came from your eldest brother Thor.
“I agree with you Thor Odinson. The ring must be destroyed.” Elrond proclaimed. You looked around the chamber, collections of elves, dwarves, and men all looked around at each other undecided about what to do next. Suddenly, a dwarf with auburn hair and beads in his beard leaps up out of his seat and reaches for his battle axe.
“Then what are we waiting for?” The dwarf, you’d come to know later as Gimli, wields his axe above his head and drives it onto the pedestal on which the ring lay. His weapon shatters as he himself goes flying backward. Out of the corner of your eye, you see the young hobbit, Frodo, keel over and grasp his head.
“The ring cannot be destroyed Gimli, son of Gloin, by any craft we here possess. The ring was forged in the fires of Mount Doom, only there it can be unmade.” Elrond spoke eloquently. An uproar began in the chamber of who would be the one to take the ring to Mordor. Men, you thought as you rolled your eyes, they always bicker and never come to a resolution. Even your brother Thor joined in on the squabble while you and Loki watched.
“I will take it!” a small voice echoed out. Everyone in the chamber continued quarreling but it caught your attention. The voice became louder as the one who spoke stood up and approached Elrond’s chair. “I will take the ring to Mordor!” Frodo. Those around quieted down and began staring at the halfling. “Though, I do not know the way.” Then, one by one members of the council offered their services to escort the hobbit to his destination. Your brothers, Thor and Loki, watched as the brave members stood in an assembly line next to the halfling while you were waiting for one of your kin to offer their support. But it never came. Fed up with the lack of incentive to help, you stood up from your chair and approached Frodo,
“I will serve you as best I can Master Baggins.” Standing next to the wizard named Gandalf, you glanced and saw Thors eyes, he was displeased.
“Oi! We’re coming too!” Two more hobbits came out from behind the pillars of the chamber. Merry and Pippin were their names.
“Besides you need someone of intelligence on this sort of mission… quest… thing!” You snickered quietly.
“Ten companions. So be it. You shall be the Fellowship of the Ring.”
*
“Sister, do you understand the gravity of the mission you have signed up for?” Thor's voice boomed through the stone halls as the three of you went to your assigned shared bed chambers.
“I understand there are risks brother.” You sigh, readying your belongings for travel.
“Then perhaps you should rethink this. Come back home instead.”
“And break my vow to Frodo? My honor will not allow it! Besides, neither of you offered your aid, someone from Asgard had to represent.”
“Father will be furious. He told us to only observe.”
“Really Thor, must you always do what Father tells you?”
“As the eldest and next in line for the throne, yes I will do what our king tells us.”
“Even when it’s against your beliefs?” You face your brother, hands on your hips giving him a defiant stare. Loki chortles as he watches from the sidelines. When it came to personality, you were a mix of the two brothers. You are loyal to those you care about, headstrong, and always up for creating mischief. Being the youngest of King Odin's three children, your brothers always teased you were father's favorite and claimed you got away with a lot. Thor, married to Lady Jane, next in line for the throne, had to uphold the responsibility that came with that title. Loki married his longtime friend, Sylvie, you’d swear they were the same person with how similar in personality they were. You? You either declined or ran off every suitor that came calling. Your mother and Queen, Frigga, always badgering you about making your debut in high Asgardian society, you were repulsed by the idea. You would not be caught dead with any pompous dukes that could not spar worth a damn. Nor would you change for any man, they would either accept you for who you were or they were sent packing.
“Brother, you know as well as I we cannot change y/n’s mind. She is as stubborn as a mule. We’ve had our fill of adventures and glory, it’s time y/n to have hers as well.” Loki finally speaks, and he sets his hand on your shoulder. “I just hope you know what you’re doing. Promise me you’ll send a raven if you need help.” You smile at the second eldest and out of the corner of your eye, Thor shakes his head. You place your hands on both of his shoulders and say,
“Thor, I know you care. We’ve dueled countless times and you’ve said yourself that you pity the fool who crosses my path. Brunnehilde ensured that she personally trained me to be the best I could be before we left. Behind all the fury in your eyes, I see that you are scared. You have nothing to fear. I can do this.” Thor shifts his feet back and forth and then scoffs after a moment of silence.
“I do not get scared.” A smile spreads on his face and he grips you into a fierce hug, you hug him back with as much strength. While the three of you don’t always see eye to eye, there is no doubt that your brothers love you, and you them.

I can't sleep
Warnings: Therapy, conversion therapy, implied homophobia, implied violence
Word count: 1.0 K
Pairing: Hela Odinsdottir x Fem!Reader
Prompt: Hela has a minor trauma that makes her fearful about therapy
Requests: OPEN
[Main masterlist] [Marvel masterlist]
Tumblr media
"Darling"
Hela's voice, coupled with a slight shake, made my eyes widen and made me turn to see her face in the dark.
"Hmm?"
Hela was silent for a few seconds, trying to get the words out of her mouth.
"I can't sleep"
Those simple words made the dream slip away from me, and made me turn completely so I could see her eyes.
"You feel bad?" my hand brushed her cheek, while she only gave a slight shake of her head
"No, what you said the other time is happening to me" I got up a little to turn on the small lamp that we had on the table and be able to observe her face, she looked like a little girl, scared and fearful "many thoughts in my head" I try to explain better
"Oh honey, do you want to talk about them?" I asked as I directed my lips to her cheek, to give small and repetitive kisses
“No” her cold way of answering, made me try to move away, but, when I tried to make a move, Hela's hands quickly took my head, to try to immobilize me and make me kiss her pale skin again “you could read a little for me, please?”
I knew how hard it was for Hela to show this vulnerable side of her. A girl who, for decades, repressed any emotion beyond anger, now, turned into a woman, who with great luck could say 'I love you' in front of other people.
Because, Hela was a tough, cold, and even intimidating person; but, in private, he let out little Hela, a girl full of illusions, joys and love to give and receive.
"What book do you want me to read to you?" I got out of bed and walked to our big bookcase
"Pride and Prejudice"
I took the book and went back to bed, only for Hela to curl up next to me, trying to fall asleep.
"Who'd say; I didn't know that the goddess of death worshiped 'pride and prejudice'”
"Shut up before I throw you out of bed" my sweet girlfriend spoke, letting out a small yawn
"You wouldn't, you love me enough not to hurt me"
"You have a point" she let out a small giggle
"Well... let's begin" I began to read while my free hand began to caress her scalp, only to feel, as the fearsome Asgardian warrior began to purr on my neck.
———————————————————————————
“Y/N, nice to see you”
"Hello, Mario, it's also a pleasure to see you"
While the bookstore manager and I chatted, Hela wandered through the shelves, aimlessly.
Mario was telling me about a new collection of books that had arrived, until a scream made me leave the conversation completely
"Baby"
I didn't know if that had been Hela's voice, or if it was those little children who had arrived a little after us, until the same voice spoke again
“Y/N”
I turned around, only to see Hela with her arms full of books, so many that I had to run to avoid some of them hitting the ground.
"Honey, don't you think that's a lot of books?"
"If I continue to have my night problems, we will have to buy more books to read" I try to give myself a small smile
"My love, wouldn't it be better if you went to therapy to try to control your nightmares? I mean, I can happily read you a book to distract you, but, it would be better if you..."
“Not therapy”
“But, Hela...”
"I said no."
She dropped the books and left the place, striding forward and frowning. So tiredly, I just took two books, 'The Little Prince' and ' The Notebook', went up to Mario and paid him for the books. Mario in complete silence did the shopping, until, when he put the books in an adorable paper bag, he simply blurted out.
"You and your girlfriend make a cute couple"
"Thank you"
———————————————————————————
We both let things calm down between us, Hela was a little upset by our little argument in the bookstore, and I knew that if I kept insisting on therapy, the only thing I would achieve is her anger and she wouldn't even tell me the origin of the problem.
The day passed, Hela only spoke to me for the essentials and that was killing me.
But, I was pleasantly surprised, when at the end of the day, almost to go to sleep, Hela snuggled up next to me on the sofa, turned off the television and looked into my eyes
"In Asgard, we had something similar to therapy, it wasn't the same, but, it was something, twistedly similar" I remained silent, but tried to convey my interest through my eyes "my father always thought that I would become a strange woman, beyond the battlefield, thought that my taste for the female figure was a little strange. So he me send to that… therapy class…”
I couldn't let her continue, I already knew what she wanted to tell me, and I could swear that if I heard anything else come out of Hela's mouth my heart was going to break, so I just dedicated myself to hugging her and kissing her head
"Hela, listen to me" gently, I took her face in my hands, making her beautiful eyes look at mine "I will never, NEVER let someone hurt you, neither because of your past, nor because of your tastes" I kissed her nose " No matter what I have to do, I'm going to make everyone see what I see every time I see you."
"A foolish warrior?" She ask with flushed cheeks and a goofy grin.
"No, I see a loving, intelligent, insightful woman, and with a lot of love to give"
“I think you have a very different perspective than I am”
"Then I'll have to work twice as hard, just for you to see a small part of the reasons why I'm madly in love with you."
"Hmm, how about you start your demo with a kiss?" the woman parted just a bit, just to give me a flirtatious smile
“As many as you want, my queen”
