hot artists don't gatekeep

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

Madeline Cheshire-Mills (before the first curse)

Madeline was born on May 4th, 1967 to Regina Mills, also known as the Evil Queen. Her mother, wanting a SINCERE love in her life, drank a potion that would allow her body to create a baby, even though she wasn't fertile anymore.

When Madeline was born, she was adored by both her mother and her grandfather, Prince Henry Sr. Little Madeline was the light in Regina's dark world, and always brought out the best in her, even as the Evil Queen. Her early years were filled with love and joy.

Unfortunately, Rumplestiliskin did not like how Regina was turning good, and needed her to cast the Dark Curse to find his son. So, when Madeline was 5, he took the child, wiped all memories of her mother and replaced them with different memories (of her being alone), and cast a spell on Madeline so Regina would never find her precious princess. Rumplestiliskin took Madeline to the Cheshire's house, where they immediately took her in, claiming her as their own.

Meanwhile, Regina was worried sick as her child as missing. She ordered guards to search, but it was all in vain. Finally, after weeks of numbness, Regina drank a potion to forget about her daughter and continue to seek her revenge.

In the Cheshire house, Madeline was loved by her adoptive parents. She especially loved her older sister, Rose, who taught her how to sew, climb trees, and braid hair in fancy ways. Madeline also enjoyed running, and was the fastest kid in her village.

When Madeline was 7, tragedy struck as Angela and Glenn were both killed in a carriage accident. Rose and Madeline were on their own now, and Rose started to mend people's clothes for money while Madeline raced people for money. They lived a simple life, but a happy one.

One day, years later, Rose decided to make a deal with Rumplstiliskin to help provide for her sister and herself. In return, Rose would have to steal her neighbor's cooking pot, which held great magical properties. Rose agreed, but couldn't go through with it as the bowl protected the village. Rose and Madeline tried to run, but the Dark One stopped them, ripped out Rose's heart, and killed her in front of her sister.

Madeline was only 9 and had lost everything dear to her. She ran away from her home, heading to a port a couple towns over. She was homeless and resorted to thieving to live. She became amazing at it, and was soon hired by a wizard to steal back a wand in exchange for protection against the Dark One. She got the wand back for the wizard, and was given a pair of shoes that gave her super speed. She was also granted the power to turn into a purple cat, turn invisible, and go through things.

One day, as Madeline was hanging out in a tree when she was 13, a portal opened up under the tree's roots and out crawled a white rabbit that continued to say, "I'm late, I'm late." Madeline was quite curious of where the portal would take her, and crawled in it. She was taken to a far out realm known as Wonderland, which was full of madness.

Madeline rather liked the realm and decided to stay, as no one from the Enchanted Forest could hurt her here. She found a home in a cave that was hidden from the Queen of Hearts' guards and took up shelter.

Meanwhile, a young girl named Grace Hatter saw that same white rabbit and decided to crawl in the portal too. She did not like Wonderland and wanted to leave. One day, she ran into some trouble but Madeline came to her rescue. After running away, Grace explained her troubles to Madeline, saying that she crawled into the hole to possibly find her father whom the Evil Queen had taken. But Grace did not believe that he was here and wanted to leave.

Madeline understood and offered her help. In the course of a couple months, Madeline and Grace became good friends. Madeline taught Grace how to shoot a bow and arrow while Grace taught Madeline how to identify certain mushrooms. They were close, even sisters.

One day, Madeline found a way to take Grace home, but they had to sneak into the Queen of Hearts' castle to access it. They managed to sneak in, but were quickly found. They found the portal, but it could only hold one person. Madeline wished Grace good luck in finding her father, kissed her on the head, and Grace was sent through the portal.

The queen's guards found Madeline and brought her to Cora, who quickly discovered that this was her daughter's child. She didn't reveal this information to Madeline and cut off her head after Madeline didn't help. She released Madeline who later went mad as a result of living in Wonderland.

5 months later, she came across a cottage in the woods which belonged to a hatter who was stark mad. She decided to tease him about having so many hats but no one to sell them to. The hatter wasn't having it and told her that he needed a hat to work to go home to his daughter.

Madeline was intrigued and asked if his daughter's name was Grace. He said yes and asked on how Madeline knew this. Madeline, knowing now that Grace was wrong, told the hatter everything on what she knew about Grace and their adventures together. The hatter was in shock as he could not believe that his daughter was in Wonderland. He thanked Madeline for protecting his daughter and introduced himself as Jefferson.

The 2 became good friends as Madeline would bring Jefferson sewing materials and Jefferson would give Madeline milk. The 2 would share stories of their separate adventures and formed a father-daughter bond.

Meanwhile, on one of Cora's trips to visit her daughter, she gave Regina a potion that returned her memories of Madeline. Regina was in shock and asked on how Cora knew about her daughter. Cora told Regina that she ran into her using her portal to help a girl and cut off Madeline's head in return. Regina was in shock again and shoved Cora in the looking glass again. Before going back to Wonderland, Cora told Regina that her daughter is still alive.

In Wonderland, days before the first curse, Madeline saved the white rabbit from being skinned and convinced the rabbit to help Jefferson with his hat. The rabbit agreed and gave the hat the power to travel between worlds.

Madeline and Jefferson thanked the rabbit and jumped into the hat back to the Enchanted Forest where the first curse was moving over the land. The 2 ran for a little while before being swept up into the curse, taking them to Storybrooke.

(This was part one of Madeline's backstory. Part 2 will have her life during the curse and Part 3 will be after the curse)
