I think we should dismantle the cis-het-allo-normative Categories and especially the "hierarchies" of relationships that are fucking everywhere. I hate them. Fuck defining the relationship. Fuck prioritizing romance over friendship. Fuck the lines between platonic and romantic and sexual and sensual. Kiss your friends. Fuck your friends. Date your friends. Date your partner. Date multiple people. Date nobody. Kiss and fuck nobody or somebody or lots of somebodies. Why do we have to box everything in. Just do what feels good with the people ot feels good to do it with just love people (or dont).

Disclaimer that yes, obviously having defined relationships that fall strictly in one category or another is important to some people, and that's cool for them. Let them do that. The whole point here is that there should be less pressure and more options. Those include the option to have strictly platonic/romantic/sexual relationships. The point is that there is a choice.

My aroace experience is thinking that polyamorous people are the exact opposite of aroace people, before learning more about them and coming to the conclusion that aroaces might actually have more in common with polyamorous people than we do with monogamous people. Okay hear me out:

Not feeling jealous/territorial about "sharing" people ✅

Not fitting the "settle down with one other person and have kids with them" narrative ✅

Being weird in middle/high school because everyone else has one specific person they have a crush on and you don't ✅

Either forgotten about or deliberately excluded ✅

Frustrated that marriage benefits are only between you and one specific person, no room for unique relationships ✅

Other people thinking you have commitment issues because you don't only share your heart with The One ✅

"Find 'the one?' Lmao no thanks." ✅

Being astonished by how many monogamous couples fall apart because neither of them wants to communicate like adults ✅

Anyways, aroace and polyamorous solidarity for the win.

So, I love the concept of the Relationship Anarchy Smorgasbord Tool, but my brain has a hard time navigating the layout of the official version, and it contained a lot of things that weren’t relevant to my close intimate relationships. I ended up creating this simplified version to specifically suit my own needs. Some people in my FB groups have greatly appreciated the easy-to-read boxes, so I figured I’d offer it here too! (I included a filled out version for anyone wondering how to use it.) Also, remember, this is good for ALL types of relationships, you don’t to be a relationship anarchist to benefit from this kind of transparency!

i've always hated love triangles because it doesn't make any sense, like a love triangle isn't two people in love with the same person because that is not a triangle, an actual love triangle should be person a is in love with person b, person b is in love with person c and person c is in love with person a, that is an actual triangle, also I've come up with a few endings to love triangles, 1. the main character realized they're aromantic(or aroace) and the two other people who are in love with the mc realized they were actually in love with each other so mc gets to live a happy life alone and the two other people get to live a happy life together, 2. the three of them end up in a polyamorous relationship, 3. they all just move on from each other and/or continue being good friends with each other. /gen

So yesterday I was hanging out with two friends and they were cuddly and there might have been a forehead kiss so I picked up my kitten and said “and this is what third wheeling looks like” and my friend was like “you’re Aro you’re kinda doomed to this” and I was like “well I want close friendships” and he was like “do you wanna be in a qpr with us” so I flipped a coin and now I’m in a poly qpr.

Looking forward to subtlety hinting to three other friends that I might be in a relationship and watching them get super confused when I make meaningful eye contact with one of my partners.

Also we’re gonna dye our hair together tomorrow :3

(The other two are ace and queer, I’m Aro and acespec and cishet) (Tbc by that sentence I’m not implying that ace people aren’t “queer enough” or whatever)

Nonbinary: This is the only one that's the same as last year: a lovely aromatic blend featuring gentle English lavender top notes, a heart of sweet Meyer lemon, and a base of vanilla and tonka bean.

Pansexual: A playful blend with aldehydic top notes of bergamot, sweet orange, and apple, unfolding into heart notes of rich honey nectar and toffee. White musk forms a gentle base.

Polyamorous: Fresh and clean with citrus and mint top notes. A heart of lavender, green accord, and sandalwood blends into a soothing base of cedarwood, amber, and musk.

Lesbian: An effervescent, feminine blend that opens with sweet apple, raspberry, and sparkling champagne. Lily, jasmine, and peach heart notes follow, supported by coconut and sugar base notes.

Asexual: Herbal and aromatic. Top notes of lemon and cyclamen give way to a heart of sage, lavender, rosemary, and thyme. Base notes of eucalyptus leaf and green musk tie the blend together.

LGBTQ+/Rainbow: Oceanic but not overwhelming, this scent begins with marine and green accords, followed by herbaceous notes, dry woods, and a strong note of sea salt. Leather, cedarwood, and smooth black pepper form a lingering base.

Transgender: A sweet, blush blend. Raspberry and mandarin top notes blend seamlessly into a heart of rose, lychee, and red currant, which in turn lead to a captivating base of oud, benzoin, and sheer musk.

Bisexual: Sweet with a little spice, this striking blend starts with ozone and chili pepper, mellowed out by a heart of mandarin, guava, and orange. Coconut and peppercorn round out the scent.

All candles are decorated with eco-friendly glitter made from sustainably and ethically sourced plant material that biodegrades in a wastewater environment. Testing was conducted to ensure that eco-glitter won't cause a severe fire hazard the way dried botanicals do, and while my own testing showed that they don't cause fireballs or anything, if your glitter gets too close to the wick, I recommend gently brushing it away before lighting, just to be safe!

Each candle costs $35 and the wax weight of each is approximately 6 ounces!

If you seriously tell people they can’t headcanon a character as trans, queer, ace, or anything along those lines, I’m going to need you to shut the fuck up and learn to let people deal with their suffering and lack of representation.

“But the character lore-“

“But the author said-“

“But I headcanon-“

I don’t care.

These headcanons exist because if those characters can be those labels and still look like that, still find happiness, then maybes there hope for the rest of us.

If Wylan van Eck can look that much like a boy and be trans, then maybe there’s hope for those of us so desperate to be seen as a boy.

If Kanej can still flourish and exist while still being ace, then maybe there’s hope for those of us who desire the same respect and type of love.

If Kuwesper can exist and be seen and work out their relationship dynamic, then maybe there’s hope for those of us who are poly and wish to just be seen as valid for a single fucking day.

Let people have their headcanons even if they differ from canon (that’s what a fucking headcanons is, dumbasses) or from your own perspective on the characters, because you may have no clue how much that headcanon may mean for somebody.
