Tim was curious. Maybe a little addicted to whatever the hell was in that coffee, he's still standing by the point that no other coffee will ever be enough, but that's not the point.
He wants answers. The Justice League want answers. No one has been able to get them. Because Phantom stays in the House of Mysteries, no one but the JLD can actually get time him. The Supers have tried listening out for him, but magic is something they're weak against and therefore can't hear through. Batman has tried to get into the House, but he's been sent everywhere else for his attempts. They would track him down as a civilian, but no one actually knows if he has a civilian disguise. It's very hard to hide hair that starkly white and skin pale enough to be blue.
Regardless, everyone wanted answers and Tim was determined to be the one to get them. Why does Phantom claim to be thirty-eight, fourteen, and eighteen all at the same time? Where did he come from? When did he die? How did he die? What the hell is in his coffee because damn was it good!
Off topic.
Tim had the rest of the Titans return to the tower while he stayed out. It'd be easier to track if he was the only one doing it. Besides, these guys work with Raven, they won't hurt him. Probably.
The fact that Phantom apparently smelled like death was another concern Tim had. Was it because he was dead? And what did Constantine mean that 'the smell lingers'?
More questions kept popping up like goddamn daisies, and there was no answers to clip them down. Tim was getting frustrated, to say the least.
***
Danny made an effort to at least try and help Constantine with the demon problem the building was having. Honestly, it wasn't even that bad, in Danny's humble opinion. The demon was just messing with people, not hurting anyone or stealing anything! He was, at most, planting minor inconveniences everywhere.
That's not technically his monkey, though, and it was most definitely not his circus. He figured he'd offer to be helpful, though, if only so that Constantine would owe him a favor. A favor he already knows how he's going to cash in.
"Why'd you really want to tag along?" Constantine asked Danny while they searched for the demon.
"What do you mean? You offered to bring me along."
"Yeah, but that's because you need to get out of the House more."
"Funny, coming from you."
"I spend more time outside of the House than I do inside." the Brit scoffed, "Now tell me why you agreed to come along. This is demon hunting. You only ever go ghost hunting."
Danny sighed and ran his left hand through his hair. Not that he could feel it, stupid nerve damage. "Deadman's been on my ass about my first trip to Gotham. I would've left to go find some place to crash, but the entire Justice League is also on my ass for some reason! I'd honestly rather not have to face any of them."
"You've been to Gotham?" Constantine asked, "When?"
Danny groaned, "Not you, too!"
"Whoa, okay, okay. You don't need to share with the class."
"Sorry."
"You better be."
"Hey!"
"Now tell my why the JL proper are after you?"
A sigh. "You remember at that meeting when Red Robin mistook my drink for his?"
"Yeah. Hard to forget. You freaked everyone out a little bit."
"Yeah. Turns out they all have questions that I don't want to answer. Avoiding them all has been the best way to not answer."
"You know you can't dodge them all forever."
"I know, but I really don't want to have to explain anything!" he whined, "The questions that they'll end up asking are gonna be really painful to answer."
A raised eyebrow. "How do you know what they'll ask?"
"Because everyone always asks the same things. Worded differently, but still that same."
"Then refuse to answer."
Danny met Constantine's eyes with a deadpan glare. "You're gonna look me in the eye and tell me that the Justice League and their sidekicks will leave me alone if I tell them 'no'?" He shook his head. "Lying's a bad habit, old man."
Constantine rolled his eyes as he went for his lighter, remembering they were were in a no smoke zone and retracting his hand. "Don't sass me, brat. Wonder Woman and Superman, at the very least, would back off. They'd get everyone else to, too."
"What about Batman and his brood?"
"Touche." the man said, "But you can't hide from them forever."
"I can try,"
"But you'll fail."
Another groan. "Can we just get this thing over with? I want to lock myself in the basement and wallow."

More Danny & Jason Being Ghostie Bros. Because I said so
Danny gets sick a lot, like 90% of the time he’s functioning with a cold, or some sort of flu.
Half of it is because he’s got the immune system of a glazed donut after getting fried, dyed, and layed to the side, and the other half is because he’s got like -30000% self preservation skills.
Jason on the other hand would rather fist-fight the devil than ever get sick even once, and one day he makes one too many jokes about Danny always having a cold
So sick Danny decides it would be a fun idea to fight even more crime just to prove that he’s better than Jason
This results in a lethargic Danny running around Gotham insisting that he’s fine while everyone else is trying to get him back into fucking bed
I imagine it would go something like this
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Danny: *perched atop a building watching Gotham from a distance* I am the protector of this city
Tim: Oh shit, hey buddy, we need you to get down from there please
Damian: *on the phone* Jason, come get your half-corpse boyfriend before he dies again
Jason: first off he’s not my boyfriend, and second he’s fine, you guys got this
Tim: *struggling* Danny no, put the baseball bat down
Danny: *being held down by Tim* I am vengeance
Jason: *sigh* I’ll come get him
DC x DP short
I'm picturing Danny moving to Gotham once he's an adult. He came out to his parents, and it went fine. More than fine. They listened to how he was struggling at school because he kept having to chase down the ghosts they let out by leaving the portal open. Jack was super proud of his son for being a ghost hunter even as a ghost, but Maddie understood his concern and set up some new protocols for the portal.
It now automatically closes after two minutes unless a specific command is put in by Danny to keep it open while he is in the Zone, and the shielding around it actually works to stop ghosts coming trig without hurting them now.
The shine of the mortal world has worn off for most of his regulars now, and those that come through have figured out compromises so they can still fulfil their obsessions without hurting others. The meta-protection act officially disbands the GIW, and Red Huntress is given a very thorough speaking to about personal bias and vendettas. She's not allowed back in the field until she comes to the realisation that ghosts are people too, and that she been the bad guy by hunting them the way she did. Phantom is officially recognised as a Hero, but he turns down working for any teams or joining the Big Leagues. He agrees to act as a back up though, in case of any world ending event.
By the time senior year rolls around, Danny has gotten his grades up enough that he can go to a pretty decent university if he wants to. He chooses Gotham University for his engineering degree because they're a feeder school for Wayne Enterprises, who in turn are a feeder company for working for the Justice League as a civilian engineer. Tucker also chooses GU for their tech program, while Sam elects not to go to university straight away.
Tucker and Danny move into an apartment right on the borders of Crime Alley and The Narrows. Tucker manages an impressive 4 months as a local hacker before Oracle notices him, but Danny only manages 3 weeks before he's spotted by a Bat.
He's lying down a foot above his building's roof, looking at the stars. It's a very rare cloudless night, and the power is out in his area. Poison Ivy had launched an attack earlier in the day that had taken cut the power lines, with her mutant plants feeding on the smog and pollution to get stronger.
Duke was up late, finishing the day shift by a quick loop of The Narrows, when he noticed a slightly glowing teenager(?) floating on one of the roofs. He takes note that the man isn't causing any harm and is just peacefully stargazing, before calling it in to Jason. He was technically supposed to be off the clock an hour ago, and besides, the building was on the Crime Alley side of this street. It's Jason's problem now.
Jason, on the other hand, is exhausted and just wants to have a quiet patrol before collapsing in bed. He hadn't been hit by Ivy's plants, but had taken a couple of tumbles while dodging them. He heads over to the address Duke gave him, to find the guy still floating there staring at the sky. He gets it, he does, he would float above the grime that coats Gotham rooftops if he could, but it's dangerous for a meta to be so unawares of his surroundings like this while obviously displaying his powers.
Danny, meanwhile, had clocked both of the vigilantes coming near him, but was really hoping that they would leave him alone. It had been a very long day for him. He'd finally managed to get to campus for his class, only to find that the place was covered in overgrown plants. He'd had to freeze a few to get into the building, and had then spent most of the afternoon in the library due to his class being cancelled. Unfortunately for him, his nearly finished assignment that he'd spent the day working on was eaten by one of the giant flowers on his way home. He'd been 'saved' by the stabby Robin, which had caused him to then also lose his laptop as they crashed to the rooftop a few streets over.
Thankfully, he had an amazing best friend in Tucker, who was doing his best to recover as much data as possible. On the downside, though, Tucker was mad at him for now having saved a backup of his files since they left Amity. He'd fled to the roof to escape his wrath, plans of bribes in the form of food running through his mind, when he'd caught sight of the Stars. Holy shit. It was so clear tonight!
He didn't even realise he'd begun to glow and float, too caught up in naming all of the stars and constellations he could see. His Obsession was feeling very satisfied tonight. Usually he had to invisibly fly above the cloud cover to see such a sight. Sure, the light pollution was still bad, but his mind was able to fill in the blanks across the sky.
The moment Jason landed on his roof, Danny heaved a great sigh. Damnit. The fun police were here. He wrenched his eyes from the sky, only to notice that - oh, shit - he was floating again. He fell to the roof with a light thump.
"Heeeyyy stranger, come here often?" Danny asked, as he rolled over to his side, propping his head up on his hand.
that's what friends are for
for @steddieholidaydrabbles prompt 'enemies to lovers' rated t wc: 996 cw: mention of hospitals and injury, mentions of selling and using recreational drugs tags: enemies is more implied than anything, getting together, canon events happening in the background
------------------------------------
Somewhere along the way, Steve Harrington became Eddie’s number one customer.
It was mostly by accident, and Eddie should tell him to get lost and find another supplier, but he couldn’t.
Especially not after the last time they met up in the woods and Steve looked…haunted.
But Eddie wasn’t going to let Steve’s sad puppy dog eyes convince him that he was anything other than the asshole he’d always been.
Not even when he walked up to Steve furiously wiping tears off of his cheeks.
He cleared his throat awkwardly before sitting down, trying to avoid eye contact with the man who seemed to be trying to hide the fact that he’d been having any emotion at all.
“So, the usual today?” Eddie asked.
“Uh, you got anything stronger?”
Look, Eddie knew for a fact he had plenty of stronger stuff that he could overcharge Steve for, and Steve wouldn’t even bat an eye.
But he had a pretty strict rule of never selling the strong stuff to someone who didn’t pass the mental test. Someone who was crying did not pass the mental test.
“Nah, ran out. Got a new mix though, if you’re interested. Might help you sleep if that’s somethin’ you need.”
The dark circles under Steve’s eyes told him that was exactly what he needed, but Steve shrugged and acted like he was just here for fun.
Eddie didn’t care enough to push.
That’s what he told himself, anyway.
—----------
Steve looked like shit.
“You look like shit.”
Steve rolled his eyes. Or, well, eye. The other eye was swollen and bruised, probably hurt like hell.
“Thanks for the update,” Steve said.
“Don’t think weed’s gonna fix that,” Eddie said, not looking away from the cuts and scrapes along his cheek. “At least not the kind I have.”
Eddie looked down to see more cuts and bruises along his hands, and most shocking of all, a dull red line along both wrists.
Eddie’s brows raised as he looked back up at Steve.
“You, uh, you good?” He couldn’t help asking.
Anyone would be concerned to see these injuries on anyone, even the guy you definitely don’t like or have a crush on.
“Sure. Is $20 okay today? I can get you more for next time.”
“$20 is fine.”
$20 was technically $5 more than he would normally charge anyone who isn’t an ex-jock, so it’s not like he was doing Steve a favor.
Eddie watched Steve walk away with more questions than answers.
—-----------------
Robin Buckley was sitting next to Steve at the table, kicking her feet and rambling on about who knows what.
Steve wasn’t looking at her, but he could tell he was listening.
“I don’t usually like to be outnumbered, but something tells me I can handle myself if Buckley decides to throw a punch,” Eddie said as he walked towards the table.
Robin suddenly froze and tilted her head.
“Steve, why is Eddie here? You said we were meeting a friend.”
“Is that what we call buying drugs from someone these days?” Eddie laughed. “Times have changed.”
Steve rolled his eyes, but couldn’t quite hide a small smile.
Eddie tried not to feel flustered about making Steve smile.
“Well, I see you more than most people, so I’d say we’re friend-adjunct,” Steve said, handing over the usual $20.
“He means friend-adjacent,” Robin added, not unkindly.
Eddie nodded once.
“Well, if that’s all, your friend has another friend to meet behind the McDonald’s. All good here?”
“All good. Thanks.”
“Anything for a friend,” he winked.
—-------------------
He was pushing Steve against a wall, broken bottle to his neck.
“This doesn’t seem very friendly,” Steve said breathlessly.
Eddie held him there for a moment, then let out a small laugh, slowly releasing his grip.
“I have to be careful about who I consider a friend right now, man,” Eddie said, ignoring Dustin’s confused voice yelling behind him.
“We’re here to help. As friends.”
Steve’s eyes were big, that look that left Eddie wondering how he’d gone from hating him so much to wanting to understand everything about him.
“Not sure if you can help me.”
“We’re gonna.”
Steve sounded so sure. Eddie had no option but to trust him.
—-----------------------
“Hey, Wayne. Anything new today?” Steve’s voice whispered when he entered the room.
Eddie’s eyes were closed, but he wasn’t asleep.
They’d lowered his dose of pain meds slowly over the last 48 hours and he was barely getting any sleep as he adjusted to the constant aches of the bites.
“He’s tired. Nothin’ new, though. You okay?”
“Yeah. You got a shift?”
“Yep. Should be back by lunch tomorrow.”
“See you then.”
Eddie didn’t know how it happened, but Steve trading shifts with Wayne was an everyday occurrence.
They got to know each other, relaxing more as the days wore on, no end in sight for Eddie’s hospitalization.
“You know, I’m okay alone for a bit,” Eddie said as he opened his eyes.
“Nah, I’d rather be here.”
“Really?”
“That’s what friends are for, right?”
Eddie nodded. “Yeah.” He frowned. “Is that what we are? Friends?”
Steve slowly reached over and grasped his hand.
“Is that all we are?”
Eddie thought back to how he used to dread running into Steve at school, mostly out of his own fear that he would harbor a crush on him. He thought about how he wondered why the boy who seemed untouchable in high school looked so fragile last summer and how he could help. He thought about the guy who didn’t have to risk his life to save him from monsters made sure everyone was safe so he could rescue him.
“I don’t think friends sit in the hospital for days like this,” he finally settled on.
“I don’t think friends have crushes on their friends for years, either.”
If Steve didn’t follow those words with a soft kiss to the corner of his mouth, he probably wouldn’t have believed them.
“Doesn’t he, y’know, creep you out?”
Robin takes a sip of her cocktail with lips so accustomed to being pursued in snootiness that little wrinkles have formed around the edges of her mouth despite her young age. It’s a shame, but the look is fitting. Sometimes, a person’s ugliness on the inside does reflect on the outside.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” you ask with thinly-veiled irritation.
You haven’t known Robin for a long time, though you suppose it wouldn’t have mattered if you knew her for a day or an entire year. She’s the type of person you could spend hours talking to and walk away knowing nothing about her. You’re simply coworkers, and that’s enough for you.
Robin shrugs and tosses her blonde hair over her shoulder when she turns to blatantly stare across the room. The bar isn’t big, just large enough for a few tables and booths lining the walls and a small dancefloor in the middle of the room. It’s intimate, so your coworkers picked it for the office’s monthly night out. Alcohol, catchy pop music, and hipster bars are perfect ingredients for morale-boosting activities, but Robin doesn’t know how to not be nasty.
You follow her gaze, and a small smile lifts the corners of your mouth despite her rude question when you see who she’s looking at.
The cup in Taehyung’s hand is colored glass. In the dim lights, the cup appears to be a dark forest green that pairs prettily with his fire-engine red hair and the contacts that turn his dark eyes a mossy color. You helped him pick out the contacts while the two of you got ready for the work outing. The green are just as alluring as the other colored contacts he owns, but they’re less intimidating than his favorite gray ones.
The colored cups are the bar’s effort to hide the deep crimson liquid inside. Supposedly, it’s for the comfort of all their patrons, but everyone knows what passes through Taehyung’s plush lips when he brings the cup to his mouth.
You watch his throat bob as he swallows. The v-cut of his shirt exposes his elegant neck and collarbones, not that you’re looking or anything.
“He eats people, for Christ’s sake. How could you live with something like that?”
Your vodka-cranberry drink is down to the ice, and your patience for Robin has melted with it.
“Fuck you,” you snap. “Taehyung doesn’t eat people. And he’s not a thing; he’s a person.”
It’s so unlike you to be this aggressive, but something mean twists inside your stomach whenever you’re forced to interact with people like Robin, who use their prejudice to infect everyone around them. Vampires have been integrated into human society for decades with very few incidents, yet there are still humans like Robin who hold onto the horror stories of the past.
Besides, Robin doesn’t even know Taehyung. You’ve brought him around your coworkers before as a plus-one to work events, but Robin doesn’t actually know him. She doesn’t know how kind he is, how he looks after you when even your friends rarely do, how he goes out of his way to prove that just because he’s a vampire doesn’t mean he’s a monster.
The pounding of your heart is enough evidence that you aren’t used to this hostile behavior. You nearly knock over your chair when you stand, and your hands are too shaky to pick up your drink from where it sits on the table before you.
Robin glares at you with eyes that pierce through your tough facade. Her cherry-red lips part to expose teeth more dangerous-looking than a vampire’s fangs, but whatever she has to say dies on her tongue.
“Hey, love.” Taehyung’s fingers skirt your lower back, and the cold of his fingertips bleeds through your thin shirt. “You okay?”
“Yup!” You give Taehyung a slight smile that doesn’t quite reach your eyes. “I was just telling Robin that I’m going home. Is that alright?”
Taehyung hums in understanding, his fingers now pressing against your hip bone. The pressure is light, but it’s enough to force your body to turn slightly to face him rather than the table where Robin still sits.
You naturally gravitate toward him regardless. When you first became friends and shortly before you decided to live together, you’d playfully accused Taehyung of using his vampiric charms on you.
“I don’t need magic to make you fall in love with me, baby,” Taehyung had replied with a lopsided grin, no fangs in sight.
Admittedly, you spent far too many of the following nights replaying that comment in your head.
“Of course,” Taehyung slips his index finger through one of your belt loops and tugs on it absentmindedly, “I’ll leave with you; I’ve lost interest in listening to Seokjin’s passionate rambling. There’s only so much video game lore I can handle.”
Robin mutters something snarky under her breath that you can’t hear, but your heart hurts because you know Taehyung can. You’re sure it’s his superhuman hearing that set him off to rescue you from Robin’s bitchy attitude, considering how your heart is beating at a worrying pace. This situation is yet another example of how kind Taehyung is.
Robin doesn’t know shit.
Going home is a good call for more than just escaping Robin’s bitchy behavior. From the time it takes Taehyung to drive home, your lower stomach begins to hurt with such extreme stabbing pain that you can barely walk upright once you arrive. Taehyung has to wrap his arm around your shoulders and slowly guide you up the elevators and down the hall to your apartment's front door. Once he enters the passcode, he helps you inside and leads you into the kitchen.
“You weren’t supposed to start for another week,” Taehyung comments off-handedly as he fetches you a glass of water. He speaks with the casualness of discussing the weather or your weekend plans.
It makes your cheeks warm, and you stare at the water in your glass once he hands it to you. “How do you know that?”
“I pay attention to you, love,” Taehyung murmurs. You should think it’s weird when he inhales deeply through his nose, but you only feel warm as goosebumps scatter across your skin. “I can also… smell it.”
With a gentle grip on your waist, Taehyung draws you closer to where he leans against the kitchen counter. Once you’re standing directly before him, he slips his hand beneath your shirt to press his cold palm against your lower stomach. The gut-wrenching pain is still there, but in the mix of the pain, butterflies are swirling about, and the cool of his skin feels good against your too-hot body.
Some of your friends have commented on how you act with Taehyung - or, more so, how Taehyung acts with you. He's touchy, and personal boundaries mean very little. For some, it would be off-putting how Taehyung initiates touch without asking, but you find it comforting. You don't mind; if anything, you're endeared by it. It means he's comfortable with you and knows you trust him.
Trust, you're quickly learning, is important for vampires in a world that distrusts them.
“I’m sorry. I’m sure that’s really gross.”
“Gross?” Taehyung rubs his thumb along the sensitive skin of your stomach and watches you intently with his mossy green eyes. It should be unnerving, but you’re too captivated by Taehyung to think anything of it.
“All my ex-boyfriends never even wanted to talk about periods, let alone…” You’re too shy to finish your sentence; repeating what Taehyung said seems too embarrassing. It’s embarrassing enough that you’re comparing your roommate to your ex-boyfriends.
You let out a quiet sigh when Taehyung removes his hand from beneath your shirt. He takes your empty glass from your hands and places it on the kitchen counter. Letting Taehyung take care of you feels nice, especially when your period cramps make breathing difficult.
“Humans are strange,” Taehyung murmurs as he gently turns you around by your shoulders to guide you to your bedroom. “There is nothing dirty or disgusting about blood. It is natural. A life source, in more ways than one.”
After changing into a new pair of underwear and comfy pajamas, you slip into your bed and patiently wait for Taehyung to finish getting ready for bed.
It isn’t unusual for you to spend time together at night, especially since you don’t have much time that overlaps due to Taehyung being nocturnal. He doesn’t sleep all day, but getting all covered up is a hassle just to brave the sunlight, so Taehyung prefers to spend his days inside.
You get cuddled in your blankets with a heating pad pressed to your lower stomach. At the same time, Taehyung sets up his laptop on your bed before you, pulling up your favorite reality TV show because he knows you’re too sensitive to handle anything emotional.
Taehyung is dressed in a loose white t-shirt and form-fitting grey sweatpants. It’s a deadly combination, and you hate that he can hear your heart flutter when he climbs into bed with you. You’re close enough that your shoulders press together, and Taehyung’s cool temperature seeps into your body, contrasting nicely with the heating pad resting on your stomach.
Sometimes, you wonder if Taehyung has figured out that he’s the reason you're a jittery mess. You wonder if he knows that your heart races around him, not because you’re afraid of him but because you’ve considered what it would feel like to let him sink his fangs into your flesh.
He probably has no idea, you think as you appraise him out of the corner of your eye. He's charming and naturally flirty. He probably thinks you're just matching his energy.
You're terrible at flirting anyway.
Clearing your throat, you adjust the blankets and try to focus on the TV show. However, it’s difficult to concentrate with Taehyung snuggled against your side. He’s being more affectionate than usual, likely because you get more sensitive when you’re on your period. You can’t complain. It feels nice to have his strong arm curled around your waist and his large hand resting against your hip.
“Comfortable?” Taehyung turns his head to the side to speak against the curve of your ear. His cool breath against your skin makes you shiver.
“Mhm,” you hum. “Are you?”
“I’m with you, aren’t I?”
“Shut up,” you hiss and give Taehyung a sharp slap to the leg that you know won’t hurt him.
You slide further into the blankets to rest your head on Taehyung’s shoulder. There’s no reason for you to be whispering, but you do. Perhaps it’s the atmosphere, your bedroom dark except for a single bedside lamp casting a shallow yellow glow, and Taehyung’s laptop lighting up your bed sheets a pale blue.
After a few minutes of silence between the two of you passes while the show plays through, Taehyung begins thrumming his fingers against your hip.
“Were your exes truly mean to you about something so natural?”
“What?” You twist your torso slightly to look up at him. “Like, not wanting to talk about periods and stuff?”
Taehyung nods. He’s no longer wearing his contacts, so you can see the lamp’s yellow light reflect in his deep red eyes, making them burn orange. Having known Taehyung for a year now, you’ve learned that the color of his eyes changes pretty regularly. You aren’t sure what the colors mean, though you’re pretty sure they have more to do with his mood than his hunger levels – contrary to what vampire films and novels might lead you to believe.
“Well, yeah. Guys think periods are gross. A lot of people do, honestly. Because of blood, and also, y’know, misogyny and all that shit.” You shrug, having come to terms with these facts long ago. “Like, one time I told my ex about this article I read that said orgasms can temporarily relieve cramps, and he went on this whole rant about how period sex is disgusting. It made me feel like I was disgusting, honestly. But whatever.”
Throughout your explanation, Taehyung’s face slowly contorts until he looks legitimately upset. It startles you because why should he care about any of this?
Sweet Taehyung is too empathetic for his own good, you think.
“Human men are pathetic,” Taehyung finally says with a snort. “Period sex sounds fun.”
You struggle to swallow with how dry your mouth and throat have become. Why did you bring up sex while you sit halfway leaned against Taehyung’s chest in your bed, with the lights off, quite literally Netflix and chilling on a Friday night?
“W-well,” you start to stutter but quickly try to pull yourself together, “I wouldn’t know.”
Taehyung hums and then falls silent again, so you assume the topic is dropped. That is until a few more minutes pass with Taehyung’s fingers playing with the hem of your t-shirt, and he eventually leans toward your ear again.
“Would you like to find out?”
This time, you turn around to face Taehyung. He keeps his head bent, which positions his face to be level with yours. You can smell the woody notes of his cologne that make you salivate.
“What?” you squeak, but you hear him more clearly than you hear your own thoughts.
“You still have cramps, don’t you?” You nod. “I could help you, love. You need not suffer.”
Blood rushes to your ears, causing your heartbeat to throb inside your brain. The pounding has a ripple effect, creating beating waves that roll throughout your entire body. It's as though you've become a giant heart trembling and pulsing from the prospect of having sex with the man you've desired in secret for far too long.
Likely noticing your body falling into distress, Taehyung cups the side of your face with his free hand. Using his hold on you, he tilts your head slightly. His eyes bore into yours with such intensity that you don’t think it’s physically possible for you to look away.
“Are you afraid of me?”
"No," you respond without hesitation. You aren't.
Your response pleases Taehyung, and you're reminded of the importance of trust. When he smiles, you think his canines look slightly pointier than usual.
"You know," Taehyung begins slowly, his gaze dropping from your eyes to your slightly parted lips. "Humans drown themselves in shame. I have never understood it. What is so reprehensible about pleasure, hm? Is it so wrong to seek it?"
"I don't know," you admit through a breathy exhale when Taehyung brushes the pad of his thumb across your bottom lip.
"Your ex made you feel ashamed, didn't he?"
You nod, rendered speechless from how Taehyung trails his fingers along your jaw and neck. Gently, he presses his index and middle fingers against the soft spot of your throat where your heart panics beneath your skin.
Taehyung wets his lips.
"I could make you feel good."
All it takes is a light tap of his fingers against your hip, and you're leaning into Taehyung's chest. His large hand slides from the side of your neck to the back of your head, pulling you into a bruising kiss. It's deep and demanding, sending your head spinning as you struggle to keep up with Taehyung's soft lips.
You moan when the tip of his tongue flicks against your mouth, coaxing you open for him to taste. You fall apart for him willingly, ready to bear your soul if he so much as whispers the request against your lips.
Taehyung could kiss you forever; he doesn't need to breathe. You have to force yourself to pull back to gasp for air when you begin to feel lightheaded, and you struggle to register that you've somehow ended up in Taehyung's lap. You straddle his firm thighs with your knees on either side of his hips and your fingers digging into his broad shoulders. It's embarrassing, the feeling of suddenly having no control over yourself, but Taehyung squeezes your hips when you try to get up.
"Will you let me?" His eyes are a deep red, nearly black, as he searches your face for your answer when you don't immediately respond.
Your entire body throbs with anticipation. Sleeping with Taehyung is everything you've forced yourself not to imagine - out of shame because what is more shameful than thirsting over your roommate who has no interest in you?
Except he does. You can feel his hard cock underneath you, and when you subtly scoot your ass against it, his fingers dig deeper into your hips.
"Please," you whisper. The word barely leaves your lips when you're suddenly tossed onto your back.
Taehyung's nimble fingers slip beneath your t-shirt and push it up, murmuring, "Lift your arms, love," and discarding it onto the floor in one sweep. Leaning forward, Taehyung kisses each of your now-exposed nipples, flicking his cool tongue over them until they're hard and wet.
You moan and instinctually arch your back, pushing your chest against his open mouth.
"Can't wait to taste you," Taehyung groans into your skin as he slips his hands into the elastic waistband of your pajama shorts. The fabric easily slides down your legs. Taehyung flings them onto the floor, where they melt into a pool of blood-red silk. "You smell delicious. Always do."
Understanding Taehyung's praises is difficult when he lights up your nerves with every kiss and harsh suck of your skin into his mouth. You don't feel anything sharp for now, but you want to. Again, it's shame that squanders the urge to admit your desires to Taehyung. All you can do is tangle your fingers in his pretty red hair and stare into his eyes as he sucks wet kisses down your stomach.
Your thighs are already slightly wet with your arousal and, unfortunately, blood. It's hot and sticky. You try to close your legs, but Taehyung keeps them propped open. To your horror, you watch him drag his hands up your inner thighs, smearing the little traces of arousal and blood that have rubbed off onto your skin. It leaves light pink streaks on his palms.
With dark eyes, Taehyung holds your gaze as he brings one hand to his mouth and licks up the entire length of his palm.
"Fuck," he lets out a shuddery moan, eyes fluttering closed. "Goddamn, love."
It shouldn't be hot, the feral look in Taehyung's eyes when he opens them again. It shouldn't be hot, the way his fangs naturally drop. He snaps his mouth shut, and you watch his throat bob as he swallows a few times. His fangs are gone the next time he opens his mouth.
"Sit on my face."
You nearly choke. "Excuse me?"
Reaching behind his head, Taehyung pulls his t-shirt off with one hand. Smooth, unblemished skin glows honey gold in the dim lighting. Possessed, you can't stop yourself from reaching out to run your hands down his chest. His abs tense and contract when you caress them. By the time you reach the waistband of his sweatpants, you've lost the little bit of courage you had.
"I want you to sit on my face." Taehyung's voice is thick and gravelly. There's a dangerous edge to it that you can't quite name.
"O-okay," you whimper.
A thrill pulses through your body when you remember what Taehyung is.
He's a person, not a monster. But he's dangerous all the same.
Taehyung lies on his back and holds his arms out, coaxing you forward. His large hands squeeze your thighs, just below your ass, to haul you further up until you're hovering right over his face.
"Are you su-"
"It is impossible for you to understand how painful it has been to wait for this moment." Taehyung holds eye contact with you as he slides his hands up to squeeze your ass cheeks and pull your pussy down onto his mouth.
"Oh my god," you moan, scrambling to grab the bedframe to steady yourself.
Taehyung licks a stripe from your entrance to your clit, lapping up the mouthwatering mixture of arousal and blood gushing from you with every pulse of your pussy. Using the tip of his tongue, he swirls your clit, flicking it repeatedly until he gets tired of that and sucks it into his mouth instead.
Your thighs quiver, and chants of Taehyung's name flow from your lips like honey as he tongues your entrance. His mouth is relentless, nipping, licking, and sucking your clit until you're trembling so severely that Taehyung has to prop his arms up to hold most of your weight. It only gets worse when he presses his tongue inside your pussy, fucking into you as he devours your sweet blood and juices with the moans of a starved man.
"T-Taehyung," you gasp, reaching down to dig your fingers into his hair. Your nails scrape against his scalp, and the rumble of his moans into your pussy is to die for. "I'm gonna come, oh my god, oh, pl-, ah, please d-don't-"
Your eyes, which had fallen shut as you focused on the feeling of Taehyung's mouth on your pussy, fly open when something sharp presses into the inside of your thigh. You look down to see Taehyung's fangs buried into your flesh, just at the crease of your inner thigh, where the skin is soft and supple. The pain quickly morphs into mind-numbing pleasure, so white hot that it feels like your brain is melting out of your ears when you finally come.
You slump forward with your face pressed against the wall and your hands weakly gripping the bed frame as your body convulses in Taehyung's hold.
"Tae, Tae, Taehyung, oh god." It hurts how deeply he bites into you, but the longer he clamps on, the more intoxicated you become by the venom all vampires carry in their bite.
It's distracting, the way you feel like you're floating. Your eyes flutter as you feel Taehyung pull you onto the bed on your back. He hovers over you, the bloodied face of a fallen angel closing in on you.
"I'm your first," Taehyung states the question, already knows the answer, but you nod your head to confirm. Taehyung is the first vampire to bite you. It's why the effects are so intense; your body has no built-up immunity.
He's smug as he leans forward to kiss you, shoving his tongue into your mouth to force you to taste yourself on him. It doesn't taste good, but you aren't thinking when you stick your tongue out to lick the blood and cum off his lips. You lick and suck his lips, cleaning them off just to let him dirty you up.
"Fuck, love, you're so fucking sexy," Taehyung growls once you release his bottom lip from between your teeth. "Mine. All mine. You're mine."
You give him a sleepy smile and loop your arms around his neck. "Yours."
Taehyung nuzzles his face into the crook of your neck and runs his tongue along the crease, swiping back and forth between wet kisses.
"Gonna fuck you now, baby." He rakes his fangs down your neck, drawing blood in thin parallel lines. "Mark you, ruin you. Do you want that? Want me to make you feel good?"
Blood trickles down both sides of your neck to pool in your collarbones. Eventually, the pools overflow, sending rivers of red cascading down your chest, past your hardened nipples, and the hickeys Taehyung sucked into the skin of your abdomen. Between your legs, a giant black bruise spreads in your inner thigh, and blood trickles from the multiple puncture wounds there.
“Please, fuck me, please,” you beg, eyes half-closed. Your head lolls to the side to watch Taehyung remove his sweatpants. Red splotches cover the grey fabric like a homemade tie-dye.
“Look at you,” Taehyung’s voice is saccharine. He kneels in front of you on the bed and squeezes the thigh he bit into. With a yelp, your entire body jerks from the pain, though the haze of Taehyung’s venom makes the discomfort temporary. “So pretty.”
Your blood drips from Taehyung’s fingers and follows the lines in his palms down to curve around his wrist. Something stirs inside your stomach as Taehyung smears your blood all over his cock, using it as a lubricant to jerk himself off. His skin turns slick and shiny red.
With his free hand, he cups the back of your knee to hike your leg up, adjusting you into the perfect position for him to swirl the head of his cock in the blood on your thigh. Gathering more on the tip, Taehyung gives himself one last squeeze before positioning himself between your legs.
He isn’t gentle when he enters you, sinking his cock into you in one bloody thrust. How his hip presses into the crease of your thigh hurts, applying pressure to your wounds that still bleed, but the pleasure of Taehyung’s thick cock pounding into you is enough to block out the pain. You’re so high, your soul barely attached to your body as Taehyung fucks you, each stroke fast and deep. His grip on you is supernaturally rough. Bruises immediately bloom across your skin, and his blunt nails dig crescent cuts into your skin.
More blood.
“Feel good, love?” Taehyung’s voice is on edge. He practically growls, and his words are slightly slurred from his fangs dropping down once again. This time, he doesn’t try to retract them. When he kisses you, you feel them press against your lips like cold daggers. One slices a small cut in the corner of your mouth, and blood collects in the creases of your lips until Taehyung sucks it all up.
“Can’t, fuck, get enough.” Taehyung punctuates his sentiments with a snap of his hips. Pleasure rolls off of you in waves, dragging your mind deeper and deeper into a blank void. Taehyung is dizzying, so pretty with his bloody mouth and wild eyes.
Your eyes flutter shut when you feel his lips press against your neck, leaving kisses far gentler than the way he fucks you. The coil building in your stomach is so hot and tight that you don’t even feel the pain of Taehyung biting your neck. You immediately come, your orgasm ripping through your body as Taehyung’s fangs rip through your flesh.
Taehyung moans through his teeth as he comes inside of you, filling you up at the same time he empties you.
“Taehyung,” you try to whisper, but your mouth hardly moves.
He’s drinking too much.
The realization hits you too late. There are bite marks all along your neck, the inside of your thighs, your tits, your wrists. Taehyung has his lips latched onto one of your bloody nipples, lapping up your skin. Your bed is flooded in red, soaked through the sheets and into the mattress.
“You’re mine, love.” Taehyung runs a bloody hand down your face, leaving streaks along your temple. “Fuck those bitches you work with. Those pieces of shit who think you couldn’t possibly love someone like me. They’re wrong, baby—all this shame. Humans drown in it, but not us. We won’t drown.”
Red tears stream down Taehyung’s high cheekbones. You want to comfort him but realize in a panic that you can’t move. With wide eyes, you stare up at Taehyung in a silent plea.
“Shhh, it’s okay, love. You have to let go. Let go for me, and then I’ll keep you safe. Forever, I’ll keep you safe.” Taehyung brings his wrist to his mouth. There’s a sickening crunch, and thick, black blood slides down Taehyung’s forearm like tar.
His elegant fingers squeeze your jaw, forcing you to keep your mouth open as he presses his bleeding wrist to your lips.
“Mine,” Taehyung repeats as he smears his black blood on your lips and lets it leak onto your tongue. “And I will be yours, just like you wanted. No one else's.”
Leaning down, Taehyung digs his fangs into your throat one final time and drinks until your last breath dies in your lungs.
Prompt: Family Heirloom and Starry Night (Discord Drabble) Two prompts in 24hrs, the drabblers are spoiled today. It's Lex's birthday! @thefreakandthehair I'm so sorry that my Frankenstien prompt for your b'day is also Steve Sad Boy™ hours. But it has a light-hearted end!!! 🏈🏈🏈 tw: death of a grandparent (way in the past)
"Why would mom mail this to me?" Steve finally mutters from his position at the kitchen bench.
Eddie shimmies upright on the couch and rubs at his eyes, long glazed over from forcing himself to pretend to pay attention to tonight's game. He'd flipped it over a good half an hour ago as the space he had given Steve started to linger on a little too long for his liking.
He just wasn't supposed to almost fall asleep while waiting for Steve to join and watch his favourite team win all those... points? touchdowns?
It doesn't matter nearly as much as the package that was delivered late in the afternoon – one that has left Steve glued to his kitchen stool.
A heavy but small and thin box with 'FRAGILE' and 'DO NOT BEND' emblazoned all over it, the red warnings leaving just enough space for their address and the return label.
Steve has opened it, Eddie realises, looking over his partner's impossibly hunched shoulders when he reaches him.
"I don't remember ever seeing that in your house, sweetheart," he says, standing close and snaking his arms around Steve's middle.
He frowns at the small framed print of Vincent Van Gough's Starry Night painting and rests his chin on Steve's shoulder.
"Mom hated it," Steve explains, "Refused to hang it anywhere in the house after my Grandpa passed. He left it to her."
Eddie hums in the affirmative.
The gold and gaudy frame doesn't exactly scream Mrs Harrington's taste in decor...
"Should I call her?" Steve rasps, setting the print down to pinch his nose, "What if something's wrong and that's why she is sending it to me?"
Eddie can feel his lip quivering.
"Maybe we should talk first, hmm?" he suggests, giving Steve a reassuring squeeze.
"Or..." Steve continues, his tone becoming bitter, "She's sending it now to make it official. That I'm no longer..."
He cuts himself off with a shaky exhale and looks around their relatively new (but technically very old and rundown) apartment. A quiet little spot in Indy they'd scored without too much searching.
One that they soon filled with their records and clothes, Eddie's amp and guitar and Steve's old trophies. Too many knickknacks they'd thrifted with the help of Robin and a lot of second-hand furniture Wayne found.
An apartment they are still in the process of making their own as they work themselves out together.
Their place in the world. Their home.
Eddie looks over to a patch of blank wall by the phone.
A spot that could use something...
"Do you like it, the painting?" he whispers, pressing a kiss to Steve's ear.
Steve grips the frame, his knuckles quickly turning white as he tenses up. He nods his head vigorously and sniffles.
"My grandpa..."
"Starry, starry night," Eddie sings low, "Paint your palette blue and grey..."
He reaches out to place his hands over Steve's and feels them relax in his touch.
"Look out on a summer's day..." Steve continues wetly, "Yeah..."
He sighs and closes his eyes, shifting his weight back onto Eddie.
"Looks like a pretty good heirloom to me," he says, swaying them just enough to leave Steve humming contentedly without threatening his position on the rickety kitchen stool.
Eddie continues humming the song, a favourite of Wayne's that he only ever passively listened to enough to pick up on the opening line and tune.
"Wanna watch the game with me?" he asks, nodding back to the television as he finishes the song.
Steve giggles, his shoulders gradually shaking them both.
"Baby, I watched that game two Sundays ago."
"But it's your favourite," Eddie argues, jostling their conjoined form, "The Cubs!"
"Eds, that's baseball!"
Tim and Jason headcanons 👀
One morning during breakfast Tim keeps excusing himself to go to the bathroom to fix his boxers because they must've stretched in the wash. Meanwhile, Jason can barely move and waddles into the kitchen like he has a rubber band around his legs. Imagine the horror when they connect the dots and realize their underwear got swapped
One day Tim's room suddenly starts to smell like tomatoes and he tears it apart trying to find the source. Turns out Jason put soup in the humidifier
Jason: *gives Tim an iced coffee*
Tim: "You put salt in it"
Jason: "No I didn't"
Tim: "I can literally see the crystals"
Jason: "What crystals?"
Tim: "Right there, all settled at the bottom"
Jason: "That's how the coffee is"
Tim still owes Jason for the time Jason stopped him from faceplanting in Alfred the cat's litter box
Contrary to how it appears, Jason's hair is thicker. It's so thick that Tim accidentally drops a glob of mayonnaise in it and Jason doesn't notice until he combs his hair hours later
They get bunk beds on a mission. Tim gets the top bunk after losing rock-paper-scissors. While he's asleep, Jason moves the ladder to the other side
Jason puts a cockroach on Tim's desk thinking he'll freak out. Tim, who's on his third day without sleep, looks Jason dead in the eye and eats it
As a kid, Jason often re-wore dirty clothes until he absolutely had to go to the laundromat meanwhile Tim washed his more frequently in small batches so he wouldn't get told off for having a huge pile. Cut to the present day where Tim's sifting through a mountain of Jason's laundry for a pair of socks and Jason is offering zero help whatsoever
They stand out in the rain to see who gets drenched first. It's usually Tim—he absorbs water like a paper towel. Jason then gets in trouble because Tim could've gotten sick ("Thanks, Bruce, not like I'm soaked to the bone too")
And when Tim gets sick, he refuses to take his meds unless someone sneaks it into his food. Finally, Jason has a use for the NyQuil Chicken TikTok
Jason drives three hours from an out-of-state safehouse to hide in Tim's closet and scare him. Little does he know, Tim is in the closet at the safehouse, waiting to pounce on Jason
Jason peels a pride sticker off a villain's car and gives it to Tim
Jason mixes all the Goldfish crackers into a dough and bakes them into a single giant Goldfish. Why? 'Cause he can, and Tim needs something to test his new food pic filters on
In March their patrols end by meeting at McDonald's for Shamrock Shakes
Tim prank calls Jason and convinces him he's lost in Metropolis. Eight hours, countless Bizarro flights, and two unfortunate geese encounters later, Jason storms into the Batcave while Tim simply grins and asks, "What'd you think of my new VPN?"
Tim and Jason find a wheelbarrow at a crime scene and keep it after the case is closed because it's a free wheelbarrow. This happens twice more and now they have enough for a family wheelbarrow race
Bruce makes them spend more time together, so Jason decides to teach Tim the Three-Card Monty. Tim just nods along because he doesn't know how say that he already learned it by watching the second Robin out-con a conman
Jason wakes Tim up one morning by chucking a feather duster at him, saying Alfred wants everything clean. So Tim gathers all the dust in his room and dumps it on Jason's bed before going back to sleep
The Ferris wheel has a clear "no food" policy but Tim doesn't listen and sneaks a chili dog anyway. Jason's in the seat below him, and it's the second time something falls in his hair without him noticing
Jason: "Red Robin, do you read me?"
Tim: "Affirmative. What do you need?"
Jason: "Pick a different gargoyle. That one's mine"
Tim: "I don't see your name on it"
Jason: "Check the underside"
Tim: "It just says Robin, so technically it's both of ours"
At one of Jason's safehouses there's a mysterious bucket in the corner of the living room. No one but Tim knows what it's for
Midnight betrayal
“SHIT, I FORGOT A CONDOM,”
Tumblr media
Pairing: Steve Harrington x fem! Reader
Genre: mainly just porn
Word count: 3411
Summary: Steve finally makes moves on you after years of lusting over you, and he makes it count.
Warnings: unprotected sex, Steve being a creep, lots of mentions of cum, p in v, oral sex (fem receiving), slight hair pulling, hickeys, some biting, idk what else, forbidden sex but also not really? Anyways there might be more I forgot, also not proofread
A/N: For context, reader is like 11 months older than Robin, so Steve’s age roughly. Y’all i recommend you listen to notice me by role model because I listened to it on loop while writing this ☃️ Steve has a huge thing for reader, like a huge thing. This is my first like stranger things oneshot so idk, hopefully you enjoy. Also sorry for disappearing i had some pretty crappy writers block 😍🫶 also Steve uses your real name when he realizes it’s really happening, not just a day dream.
There’s one thing you’re certain of. Steve Harrington is off limits. I mean who goes around fucking their sisters best friend?
That wouldn’t be you. There would be no betraying Robin, especially not tonight. Especially not when she left for the weekend and forgot to tell Steve not to drop by.
You were surprised to see him but you just couldn’t turn down his offer to stay and keep you company while everyone was out of town. I mean technically he was just doing you a favor, no one said you couldn’t be friends.
Steve on the other hand. Knew you were home alone. He was prepared to stop by just for you. He decided it was time to finally make his move. He’s had his heart set on you since sophomore year when you accidentally hit him in the face with a soccer ball at lunch.
You were the quiet type. Which isn’t what he usually goes for, but the second he saw you standing above him, fear in your eyes as you quickly looked him over making sure he wasn’t hurt. God damn, it felt like he died and went to heaven.
You knocked the air out of him and made his nose bleed. But he felt his anger disappear as quickly as it came. I mean how could he stay mad at you? You looked so innocent and we’re doing everything you could to help him out.
You lent him your sweaty shirt (ik gross but you didn’t want him bleeding all over his white shirt, AND he didn’t seem to mind) as you frantically made sure he was all right.
Having you bent over him, tits practically falling out of your bra, your soft hands roaming his skin, it made all his blood flow into his dick. Steve was unbelievably hard, his balls felt like they would burst at any second.
Once you got him back on his feet all he could focus on was the difference in your heights, you didn’t even reach his shoulders, plus your hands were so small compared to his forearms.
The second he got home he sat on the edge of his bed, your shirt in one hand, his dick in the other. His mind drifted to you: your soft touch, the way your lips parted as you helped him to his feet, and how red your cheeks were. Fuck, it was torture.
Steve kept his motions slow and steady, imagining how gently you would jerk him off. How your hands would barely be able to fit around his cock, how you’d peer up at him through your eyelashes while your lips parted just enough for you to fit the very tip of his length inside of you.
He lifted your shirt to his nose taking long drawn out breaths, as if he was sniffing glue. As your perfume mixed with your sweat flooded his senses, he came, thick white cum spilling from his dick.
Steve couldn’t help but jerk himself off to the smell of you the whole weekend, it was like he was a 12 year old boy again, just figuring out what playboy was and realizing how fun it could be to cum. Over and over.
No one ever compares to you, you were the only thing on his mind. Ever. Even when he was with Nancy all he could think of was you being under him as he fucked you senseless.
_________
“Hey, Steve,” your plump lips curl up into a smile, “didn’t Rob tell you she wasn’t going to be here for the weekend?” You motion for him to come inside.
“I think she must’ve forgotten to tell me,” he closes the door and locks it, “I’m sorry for the trouble, but do you mind me staying?” He smiles innocently while trying to come up with some dumb excuse as to why he needs to stay with you.
“Sure! I’d actually really like that, I hate being home alone at night,” you wrap your arms around his waist giving him a soft hug. “It’s really good to see you, I thought someone was trying to break in.” You laugh awkwardly as he hugs back.
Steve bites down on his bottom lip roughly as the familiar burning sensation builds in his stomach. “I didn’t mean to scare you princess, I hope you can forgive me,” you giggle, your tits bouncing slightly as you take a step back.
“Of course I forgive you Sir Steve,” he plops down on the couch, man spreading and taking up the majority of the space. “I’m gonna go take a shower, maybe we can order a pizza or something later? Unless you’ve already eaten.”.
“Yeah, anything you want love,” he grabs the remote and begins flipping through the channels. You run up to shower, oblivious to Steve palming his cock through his jeans.
“Fuck, you’re gonna be the fucking death of me Princess,” Steve whispers to himself, throwing his head back as he pictures you rubbing soap all over your naked body.
He didn’t realize just how far he took it until he was about to cum right there in his jeans, on your couch, surrounded by pictures of you and Robin. As much as he tried, he didn’t feel an ounce of guilt for what he was doing.
He found a glove wedged into the couch cushions and instantly recognized it as yours, Steve couldn’t help but take the opportunity that was sitting right in front of him.
He unbuttons his jeans, pulling his stiff dick free and slipping your glove over it. His hips buck up into his hand, a few strokes later and your favorite pink glove is filled with his hot cum.
Steve releases a content sigh before he hears your soft footsteps nearing the stairs. “Shit, why the fuck did I just do that.” He frantically looks around for somewhere to throw your sullied glove, running around with his dick exposed.
He finds a small basket of your dirty clothes, he tucks his cock away and quickly zips his jeans up. He makes a hole in the basket, burying the now very, very dirty piece of clothing. Steve’s fingers graze a pair of your panties, his eyes close in on the white stain on the inside.
“Hey, Stevie where’d you go,” his heart races as he tucks the panties into his Jean pocket, turning around with a smile.
“Sorry, I was snooping around. Looking for a movie that we could watch,” he scratches the back of his neck, hoping you believe the lie.
“Oh, yeah we have some tapes but they’re over here,” you point in the opposite direction, Steve goes over to choose a movie while you order food. “Is a pepperoni pizza good?”
“Anything you want princess,” Steve decides on a horror movie, hoping he’ll be able to cop a feel if you get scared. A small smirk pasted itself on his face as he put the movie in, dimming the lights and grabbing a blanket.
“So what movie did you pick?” Using your towel, you finish drying your hair the best you can.
“Can I take off my jeans? They’re gonna be a little uncomfortable, also I’m not telling you, it’s a surprise.” His smile widens, while you throw your towel at him.
“That’s fine, and you know I don’t like surprises Steven,” you pout, crossing your arms over your chest.
“I know,” he chuckles as he takes his jeans off, folding them up and making sure your panties stay tucked away.
“Ugh you’re so mean,” Steve sits down, patting next to him motioning for you to sit by him.
“Steve, you’re in the middle of the couch there’s no room for me,” you sigh with a roll of your eyes.
“You like to lay down, right? So why don’t you just lay across my lap.” He winks at you.
“Seriously steve? You’re not gonna budge?” He shrugs and starts to scoot over but before he can you’re sprawled across his thighs, your boobs flush against him.
His eyes scanning up and down your body, the oversized sweater you were wearing is now pulled up showing off your unbelievably tight shorts. His cock twitches at the sight.
Ever since he became close with Robin, it’s almost as if he’s horny all the time because of your skimpy little outfits, Steve is honestly surprised his dick hasn’t fallen off or shriveled up. You know just how to turn him on.
For the sake of not creeping you out by having a boner in your face, Steve throws the blanket over your body. Stealing one more glance at your ass. He unpauses the tv and you instantly recognize the intro as the exorcist. A movie you’ve been too scared to finish since your dad first rented it.
Steve feels your body tense up and starts to think that maybe this isn’t the best plan. “Hey, love, do you want to pick a different movie?” His voice is unusually soft as he rubs circles into your back.
“No it’s okay, I picked the food, you picked the movie.” Giving Steve a toothy grin you try to ignore the building heat between your legs.
__________
About 15 minutes in and you're already regretting letting Steve choose the movie.
Steve on the other hand has been focused on you the whole time, watching every twitch, enjoying having you spread out over his legs as if it’s an invitation for him to slap your ass.
He licks his bottom lip as he slides his hand under the blanket, his fingers ghosting over your thigh before he sets his hand down. Steve squeezes your leg lightly, rubbing circles into your smooth skin.
You bite back a moan, closing your eyes as his hand nears your covered pussy. A loud knock on the door interrupts your intimate moment and causes you to jump into Steve’s body.
“Calm down babe, it’s just the pizza.” He pulls you off his lap and goes to open the door. Handing the pizza delivery guy a $20 bill, taking the pizza box in the other hand before shutting the door and locking it again.
“Did you lock the door?” You ask meekly your eyes locked on Steve’s.
“Yes, I locked it,” he sets the pizza down on the counter, smiling at you as you wrap yourself in the blanket before walking over to him.
He hands you a piece of pizza, “eat up darlin’” a few minutes of silence pass before Steve speaks again. “How about we play a game,” you perk up as a mischievous look paints itself on your features.
“What kind of game?” Taking another bite of pizza Steve hops down from the counter he was sitting on.
“How about truth or dare?” You huff softly.
“But there’s no way to win,” pursing your lips you decide that anything is better than going back to that horrible movie.
“Okay I’m in, but only if we don’t do boring questions and dares,” you answered curtly, finishing the crust of the pizza you’ve been munching on.
“Deal.” Steve pushes his plate to the side, You bite your bottom lip as you contemplate which you’re going to choose.
“Okay little lady, truth or dare?”
“Dare” you nod your head, proud of being the first to say dare.
“I dare you to.. call the last person you hooked up with.” You laugh softly.
“Seriously?” He nods with a small smirk, you go over to the landline, dialing the number of Jonathan. “Okay so before I actually call, what am I supposed to say?”
He scratches his chin “I dunno, maybe something about how you’re home alone and miss him?” Steve seems proud of himself for what he’s come up with and you sigh.
He grabs the other phone so he can listen in on your conversation, you nervously chew on your lip as the phone rings.
“Hello?” You could tell Jonathan was asleep based on his sexy morning raspy voice. Steve grits his teeth, watching how your eyes light up and your legs squeeze together at the sound of his voice.
“Hey John.. I miss you,” you bite down on your lip, sucking in a deep breath, “my parents and Robin are out of town.. I’m all alone and I just couldn’t stop thinking about you,”
“Y/N you know I’m with Nancy again, it was a one time thing. We were both just needing to blow off some steam, it wasn’t supposed to come in between us.” Jonathon practically whispers the last part of his sentence.
“Yeah, I know. I’m sorry for calling, i'm a little tipsy, thank you Jonathon,” Steve observes your facial expressions looking for any sort of disappointment.
“Try to get some rest, and let’s not mention this again okay?” You cringe.
“Yeah, thanks again John,” he hangs up and you look over at Steve. “God that was so fucking embarrassing,” he laughs.
“You chose dare,” he walks back over to you leaning against the counter.
“Okay, truth or dare steve,” you huff, narrowing your eyes on the beautiful man before you.
“After that, I can only imagine what you’d make me do if I choose dare.. so truth” he takes a deep breath to prepare himself for what you have in store.
“That’s no fun,” you roll your eyes “What was the last wet dream you had?” Steve tenses up in response to your question.
“Uhm, it was about Bo Derek, from 10. God she’s so fucking sexy in that movie,” you laugh harmoniously, and Steve relaxes. It’s obviously a lie, you’re the only one he ever imagines naked and seducing him. But you don’t need to know that.
“Truth or dare, babe” Steve admires you as you hop onto the counter.
“Mm, truth.” He smiles wickedly.
“How many times have you orgasmed? Or more specifically did Jonathan ever get you to orgasm?” Eyes going big you clear your throat, shock evident on your face.
“To be honest, I haven’t ever,” you look at the floor, face bright red, “I kinda just figured I’m not able to..” your voice trails off.
Steve bites his lip, wiggling between your thighs and wrapping his arms around your waist.
“Maybe I can help you with that princess,” he whispers in your ear, sending chills of pleasure down your spine. Your body instinctively pushes into his, Steve runs his hand up your thigh.
He presses two fingers against your clothed clit, “Fuck, babe are you not wearing any panties?” You’re at a loss for words, every part of your body feeling like it’s on fire.
“Princess,” Steve presses a rough kiss on your neck, “I asked you a question. Be a good girl for me,” he lightly pulls your hair from the scalp, giving him more access to your neck.
“No, I’m not wearing any panties.. I forgot to do laundry and they were all dirty..” you moan softly as his hands roam all over your body.
“Darling, you have no idea how long I’ve dreamed of this,” he cups your cheeks, kissing your lips with gentle hunger. You run your hands down his chest, pulling at the waistband of his boxers, Steve moves his head, sucking red marks all over your neck.
His fingers fumble with your shorts as he pulls them down, you push firmly on his chest gasping for breath.
“Steve..” your voice is barely over a whisper, “we can’t, fuck, we can’t do this,” he grips your waist tightly.
“Come on Y/N,” he lowers himself to his knees, “you want it just as much as I do,” his nose rubs into your pelvic bone as he spreads your legs, pulling your ass to the edge of the counter.
“Tell me you don’t want it and I’ll stop,” Steve stares into your eyes, stroking your thighs. Your chest rises and falls rapidly, you twist your fingers into his hair.
“Stevie, I want you. I need you,” moans spill from your parted lips, his eyes darken.
“Say that again for me,” Harrington pulls your shorts all the way off, exposing your soaked cunt.
“I want you, Harrington,” he moans in response, biting your inner thigh.
“Good girl,” Steve sticks a finger into your leaking hole, “you’re my good girl.” Wrapping his arms around your legs he keeps them spread, he kisses wet kisses up your thighs sucking in a deep breath as he reaches your throbbing clit.
Your body twitches in anticipation, he licks a long stripe between your folds, his lips landing on your pink nub. Harrington sucks on your clit gently, pressing his nose into your warm flesh.
You moan loudly, arching your body into him, “oh god,” he flicks his tongue against the sensitive bud. Sending shivers all over your body, his fingertips squeeze into your flesh.
Steve pushes two fingers into your cunt, moving them in and out at a achingly slow pace, he sticks his tongue under your clit hood. Running the tip back and forth, before flicking upwards, he used his thumbs to keep your pussy lips spread. You feel a pressure building in your core, like an itch in your gut.
“Steve, Steve..” you chant out his name while pulling on his hair roughly. Your toes curl as you try to squeeze your legs shut. Harrington keeps a strong grip on them, pulling them further apart.
He sucks your clit hungrily, pulling you closer to his mouth until he can barely breathe against your body.
“Stevie, it feels so weird,” you moan, throwing your head back, squeezing your eyes tight. He slows down his pace helping you ride out your orgasm, he sticks his tongue into your seeping hole, lapping up all of your juices and his nose teases your sore clit.
Steve slowly rises from his knees, kissing your exposed skin as he goes. “Christ Steve, you’re so good,” he smirks while wrapping your legs around his hips, his hard tip poking into your ass.
“I know, darlin’” he carries you up the stairs, squeezing your ass before tossing you on your bed. “How about we keep the fun going?” Steve kisses your jaw, grinding into your bare pussy, as he massages your breasts.
You flip the both of you over, pulling your shirt off and throwing it off to the side. “Steve, take your clothes off,” his eyes light up while he caresses your bare waist.
“God, princess, you're so hot right now.” He pulls off the remainder of his clothes before undoing your bra. Pressing your chest against his, kissing him gently, Steve slaps your ass then squeezes it roughly.
“Steve,” you moan into his ear, grinding down on his cock, “Please,” you wrap your arms around his neck.
“Fucking hell Y/N,” he groans loudly, his eyes rolling back. Steve guides his dick into your pussy, pushing until he’s balls deep, he grabs your ass slowly moving you on his length.
You put your hands on his chest, throwing your head back as cries of pleasure escape your lips. You grind down on his cock as he wraps his arms around your waist keeping you against him.
“Shit Y/N you’re going to drain me,” he sits up getting a better angle, pinching your nipple roughly. You bury your face in the crook of his neck biting down on the skin, Steve moans in response. Bucking his hips up into you, he grabs your chin forcing you to face him.
“Let me see your beautiful face, little lady,” you feel the tightening in your stomach again. Your moans become louder and more frequent as you find yourself getting closer.
“Steve, I think,” you gasp, “I think I’m gonna cum” he sucks a hickey onto your collarbone.
“Me too Y/N,” he moves his fingers to your clit, rubbing hard circles into the throbbing muscle. “Cum for me pretty girl,” Steve whispers into your ear, nibbling on the love softly.
“Fuck Steve,” you moan loudly as your legs shake, your pussy tightening around his dick. He throws his head back, eyes rolling into his skull as you milk his dick.
“SHIT, I FORGOT A CONDOM,”
Written for @thefreakandthehair - Lex’s Spicy Six Summer Challenge!
My prompt was : Hurricane
WC: 6,648 Rating: E (for smut in pt. 2)
Summary:
When a major Hurricane is projected to hit Hawkins (technically it’s more like the remnants of a hurricane, but the residents of Hawkins don’t really know the difference or care), Dustin is worried about his new friend and DM, Eddie Munson, who lives in a trailer, a structure not known for its resilience against severe weather. He invites the older boy to ride the storm out with him and his mom at home, unaware that she has made arrangements for them to stay with family that live far away from the storm's trajectory. Dustin doesn’t want to leave his friend high and dry, enter everyone’s favorite babysitter: Steve Harrington.
Notes: Yes, there really was a hurricane called Bob in 1979. Not Robert. BOB. (followed closely by tropical storm Claudette, both made at least some sort of appearance in or near indiana.)
I had to do a quick google search to make sure hurricanes even happened in that area of the country. They do, sort of, but only like every 7-10 years. I live in a coastal town and we get at least one hurricane a year and it just did not occur to me that this is not a thing in some places🙈.
Steve was nearing the end of his shift at family video, alone because Robin could only work part time during the school year, when Dustin called.
He sighed into the telephone, leaning heavily on the counter as he listened to the kid prattle on at 100 miles an hour about some kind of emergency . Steve had panicked for a second, until Dustin explained that it wasn’t a code-red emergency, just a regular mundane one. He could have cried in relief. It’d only been a little over two months since their last run-in with the Upside-Down, and if he was honest with himself, he still wasn’t 100% back to normal from Starcourt yet. He wasn’t sure he ever would be.
Dustin proceeded to go on and on about his new best friend and fellow D&D nerd, Eddie, and Steve tried to listen, he really did, but he had no idea what the hell any of it had to do with him. Then Henderson finally dropped the bomb.
“You’ve got to be kidding me. Are you really asking me to spend the Hurricane babysitting Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson?” Steve sputtered.
“It’s not babysitting, he’s older than you!”
“He is still in high school though.” Steve smugly pointed out.
“Don’t be an asshole, not everyone is good at school.”
Ok, that was..fair, but Steve still didn’t feel like getting roped into this. “Why can’t he stay at your house again?”
“Were you even listening?” Dustin scoffed. “My mom got too nervous, something about a tree falling on the house back in ‘79. She wants us to evacuate and stay with family for a day or two. I already offered Eddie someplace to go, I can’t take it back now! C’mon Steve, the trailer park isn’t safe, that's why Max and her mom are staying at Lucas’, remember?”
Steve tapped the receiver against his forehead and counted to five. This kid and his fucking tone. “He really doesn’t have anywhere else to go?”
He was sure Eddie didn’t like him either, there's no way the guy wanted to be stuck with him alone, for god knew how long, anymore than Steve did.
“No, and please don't tell him I said anything, and don’t laugh, but I think he’s kind of freaked out about the storm.”
Steve softened, in all honesty he was too. “I wouldn’t laugh about something like that, Henderson. I'm not a total dick.”
Steve was 12 when Hurricane Bob made landfall in Hawkins, the first major storm he had ever seen. Being so far from any coast, It wasn’t common for Indiana to experience tropical storms. Typically, they only had to deal with minor bad weather from the remnants of them as they dissipated . He had ridden it out alone, having finally hit the age where his mother deemed him old enough not to need a babysitter overnight, unless she and his father planned to be gone for longer than a weekend. He told himself they would have come home to be with him if only the flights hadn’t been grounded. He knows better now, and even back then, he hadn’t truly believed it.
He'd been prepared to go through this event in much the same way, except now he was grown and could drink himself through the nerves, and the boredom of a power outage, if he wanted to. He would prefer to have company, but the kids needed to be home with their families, Robin was out of town, and Nancy… wasn’t an option. They were fine with each other when the shit hit the fan and all, but they weren't exactly friends. Besides, she was still with Jonathan, even if he was 2,000 miles away with his mom, brother and El. It would just be awkward.
“So, can he stay with you?” Dustin asked again, bringing Steve back to the present. All of the kid’s cocky tone and kidding was gone for the moment. He really was worried about his friend, Steve realized.
“Does he even know it’s my house you're inviting him to? I wasn't exactly a nice guy for most of high school.” Steve was breaking. He would cave. He knew it.
“I'm sure it’ll be fine, we talk about you at Hellfire all the time and he's never said anything. Just give him a chance. Who knows, maybe you’ll come out of this with a friend who’s actually your own age.”
“Hey, I have Robin!” Steve protested.
“You need more than one friend, Steve. I’m gonna call Eddie and tell him the good news. Is it okay if he comes right over?”
He still hadn’t exactly said yes, but they both knew he would.
“Yea.. that’s fine. I get off work in fifteen minutes”
-
Steve had only just gotten home himself when the doorbell rang. Here we go , he thought.
“You don’t have to do this y’know.” Eddie grumbled the moment the door opened. Somehow making it sound like he’s the one being put out.
Steve groaned internally, cursing Dustin for volunteering him and his house for this. He wanted to agree with the guy, would be happy to slam the door in his face even, but Dustin would be pissed if he didn’t at least try to play nice.
“Come on in, Munson. I’ll show you where you can put your stuff.”
Eddie followed him wordlessly through the foyer and up the stairs, eyes darting around nervously the whole way. He looked so out of place in Steve’s boring upper middle class house, all ripped black jeans, rings glinting on every finger, and a leather jacket. He stood out, demanded to be noticed, just like he always had in school.
Steve showed him the guest room and pointed out the main bathroom down the hall, before ducking into his own room for a sorely needed after work shower. Apart from his gruff greeting, Munson seemed a little more subdued than he had been expecting. He supposed it was a lot, not only the nerves about the impending storm, but being in a strange house with someone he barely knew. He should really take it easy on the guy.
-
Not long after he’d shut the water off and ran a towel over his sopping hair, there was a knock on Steve’s bedroom door. What could Eddie possibly need already? Couldn’t it wait until he got dressed? He huffed, tying the towel securely across his hips and threw open the door.
Eddie stood in the hall with his arms crossed defensively over his chest, still looking back towards the end of the hall as he spoke.
“I know you’ve led a pretty privileged life here, Harrington, but there's things you’re supposed to do to prepare for a hurricane y’know. Meaning you do them before the bad weather hits. I don’t see a single flashlight, or bucket and…”
He turned mid sentence, trailing off as he finally caught sight of Steve standing in the doorway, dripping wet and in nothing but a towel. Eddie turned bright red and quickly looked away, mumbling apologies. It was ridiculous, Steve thought, it was no different than the locker room at school. Guys saw each other in just a towel all the time, sometimes less. Maybe Eddie was shy or something.
“Give me a few minutes to get some clothes on and we’ll sort it out.” Steve muttered.
Eddie nodded too fast, and too many times. Steve shook his head, backing up to close the door. He may have shut it a little on the harder side, not quite slamming it the way he wanted to, but it was loud enough to signal his annoyance.
As Steve descended the stairs ten minutes later, he remembered what Dustin said, and his own thoughts about Eddie’s predicament. He found the other boy in the kitchen, rooting through the fridge and decided to let it go, and approach the situation with as much kindness as he could muster.
He plastered on his brightest customer service smile. “Alright, so tell me about this preparation you want to do.”
Eddie did not extend the same courtesy, and gave him nothing but bitchy side-eye in return.
“You should know this stuff, Harrington, it’s survival 101. Basic shit!”
Steve looked skyward, praying for patience. “Okay, we’ve established that I'm an idiot. Why don’t we move on from that for now, and you just tell me what we should be doing?” He was proud of himself for saying it very evenly, and with hopefully no indication of how irritated he truly was.
Eddie hummed, considering him for a moment. “Fine.”
He grabbed Steve by the wrist and pulled him towards the back door, pointing through the glass. “All that shit out there? The chairs, the table, the goddamned potted plants? Projectiles, all of them. They need to get put away in a shed or secured or something.”
Steve blinked.
That.
That made perfect sense.
Maybe he was an idiot. He hadn’t even thought about it. All he had done in anticipation of the storm was to stock the fridge with beer. Eddie seemed to see Steve come to the realization, and his frosty demeanor thawed slightly.
“Why don’t you take care of the outside and I'll start filling the bathtubs with water. Do you have any buckets?”
“In the garage, under the workbench. What’s that for?” He was genuinely curious now.
“If the power goes out, so does your water pump.” Eddie began, matter-of-factly. “You fill the bathtubs so you have some water to wash with and flush toilets. That’s what the buckets are for, easiest way to top up the toilet tank. Speaking of water, we’ll want to fill some pitchers or something from the sink too, for drinking or cooking.”
“Okay. Thanks, um, for explaining all of that.”
Eddie gave him a thin-lipped smile and curt nod before setting off to start his tasks.
-
They did have a shed, which was mostly empty, Steve came to find. It didn’t take him long to put every loose item from around the outside of the house away. Clouds started rolling in as he finished up, and there was a bit of wind stirring, but nothing crazy yet. Satisfied that he’d done an adequate enough job, he went back in to see how Eddie was making out.
Steve had to give it to the guy, he was not shy. The kitchen looked ransacked. Every drawer and cabinet was wide open. The countertops were littered with random candles of every shape and size, lighters, a few books of matches, batteries, two flashlights, and several large plastic containers which Eddie was already in the process of filling with water and placing in the freezer.
He stared wide-eyed at the display, a little in awe of it. He wasn’t used to being ready for the bad things. Usually disaster struck first, and then Steve scrambled to keep everyone safe. He liked the idea that, at least in this particular scenario, there was something he could do to prevent problems instead of struggling to solve them later.
Eddie finally noticed him and followed his line of sight around the room. He grimaced, looking bashful for the first time. “Sorry, I just..”
“It’s fine, really. Thank you for doing all this.” Steve said, wearing his true smile for the first time. He walked around the room, closing the various doors as he contemplated what to make for dinner. Eddie’s eyes tracked him the whole time, like he was waiting for Steve to snap at him.
He pretended not to notice and dug into the fridge. The decision about food was made easy when he noticed the steaks he had taken out to thaw sitting on a shelf. He’d been too tired to cook after his shift the night before, opting instead to shove a handful of pretzels into his mouth and collapse in front of the T.V.
Steve took the plate of meat out and set it on the counter along with two beers. He popped the tops off the bottles and handed one to Eddie who accepted it with a blank stare.
He pulled the big cast iron pan off the rack and placed it on a burner to start heating up while he gathered the rest of his ingredients. He lined up the butter and herbs to the side, so they’d be ready when he was. There were still a few pre-cooked potatoes left over from earlier in the week, so he got those out as well and started a second pan on the stove to warm them up. He didn’t feel like fussing with a vegetable so…
“Okay, what the fuck is happening right now?!” Eddie snapped, interrupting Steve’s train of thought.
“Hmm?” Steve hummed, beer bottle pressed against his lips.
Eddie gestured in his general direction, as if it was obvious.
“Um, cooking? Shit, do you not eat red meat? I should have asked, I can figure something else out if..”
“Cut the crap, Harrington!” Eddie shouted. “I bossed you around, made a huge mess in your kitchen, hell, I've been outright rude to you since the moment I walked through the door and you haven't said jack about it! You thanked me, twice! What gives? Why are you being so nice? You’re supposed to be an asshole!”
“Oh. I’m not.. I mean, I'm trying not to be that guy anymore.”
Eddie narrowed his eyes. “Even if that were true, like I said, I know I've been a dick. You’d be well within the rules of polite society, or whatever the fuck, to call me out on it.”
“Honestly, man, I know you’re in kind of a weird situation being here, and I was just trying to give you a break.”
“Oh.”
Eddie was quiet and still for a long moment before abruptly upending his beer, drinking it all in one go before immediately swapping it for a full one.
Steve snorted. “You okay?”
“Fine, just, y’know, having my entire world view turned upside down. Not something I wanna deal with sober.”
Steve laughed a little harder than the situation probably deserved, but Eddie had, albeit inadvertently, made the most ironic choice of words. If the guy only knew.
Eddie pulled himself up to sit on the counter, watching intently as Steve tossed their steaks into the now screaming hot pan.
“Where'd you learn to cook?”  Eddie asked. The, be cause didn’t your rich-boy mommy always cook for you , went unsaid. The other boy’s version of being nice, Steve assumed.
“Trial and error mostly, and don’t tell anyone, but I watch a lot of Julia Child reruns.” Steve grinned and threw a wink over his shoulder.
Eddie sucked in a small breath and his cheeks turned the most adorable shade of pink. It reminded Steve of how the girls at school used to look when he’d flirt, before he’d lost his touch anyway. Wait, why was he thinking the word adorable in the same sentence as Eddie Munson?
Steve shook himself and turned his attention back to the stove, concentrating on not overcooking anything, instead of trying to figure out why he was suddenly so nervous.
-
As they sat at the dining table and ate together, Steve kept having the strangest feeling that this was a little like a first date. He didn’t know what was wrong with him today. This was Eddie Munson, he barely knew the guy, and they did not like each other. Except, maybe now they were getting over that? Also, Eddie was a guy, and although Robin coming out to him earlier this summer had opened his eyes more to the possibility that some people weren’t straight, he just didn’t see that for himself.
“So, how did King Steve wind up tethered to a gaggle of middle schoolers anyway?”
“Former King.” Steve corrected, but not unkindly. “Babysitting, sort of. Not that they need that anymore but, yeah.”
“Why’d you stick around?”
Steve shrugged “They’re good kids. Dustin’s like a little brother to me.”
Eddie chuckled. “I get that. There’s just something about him that makes you want to take care of him.”
“I know right!? It’s the eyes or something, like he’s a lost puppy.”
“Oh he would hate that comparison. You’re not wrong though.” Eddie agreed, pointing at Steve with his fork.
“How are they handling being freshman? I remember it being rough even for me and I wasn't..” Steve cut himself off, realizing too late that he was about to put his foot in his mouth.
“A nerd?” Eddie finished for him with a raised eyebrow.
Steve winced. “Sorry.”
“Don’t worry about it, Harrington, we know what we are.” Eddie grinned. “I think your boys are doing alright, for what it’s worth I'm keeping an eye on them.”
Steve smiled, it was worth a lot actually. The more he got to know Eddie, the gladder he was that the kids had found him.
“You said boys, does that mean Lucas wasn’t able to get Max to join your game?” Steve asked.
“Is that the angry red-head he’s always pining over?”
“That would be the one.”
Eddie frowned. “No, she’s not in Hellfire, but she is my neighbor. Is Max one of your kids too?”
“Not that she’d ever admit it but, yea. She’s had a rough couple months. You remember Billy Hargrove?”
“Of course I remember that cocky prick. Not to speak ill of the dead or anything. why?”
“He was Max’s step brother.” Steve explained. “They didn’t like each other much, so it’s complicated, but I’ve been worried about her.”
“Damn. That’s tough. I’ll see what I can do to look out for her around the trailer park.”
“Thanks.”
-
By the time they finished up dinner it had started raining, and the wind was really picking up speed. Steve could feel himself getting tense. It didn’t matter that he had faced far scarier things than this, he still had to keep reminding himself that it would be okay. He was an adult now and he wasn’t alone.
He was pretty sure Eddie was having some of the same anxiety and was just trying to hide it. What they needed was a distraction. They might as well make use of the electricity while they still had it.
“I brought a few movies home from work, they’re in a bag by the front door. You wanna pick something and I'll grab a couple more beers?” Steve asked, as he cleared their plates.
Eddie groaned. “Fine, but there’d better be something besides Fast Times or The Breakfast Club.”
“Okay first of all, The Breakfast Club just came out on tape, it’ll be weeks before I can get my hands on it, and what’s wrong with Fast Times?! It’s a classic!”
Eddie just shook his head and went off in search of the bag.
They met back up in the living room a few minutes later. Eddie was pulling videos out of the bag, a stunned look on his face.
“Okay, I can admit that maybe you don’t have completely abysmal taste in movies. I mean, Footloose isn’t exactly my thing, but who can resist Kevin Bacon? And all three Star Wars? Steve, you're practically begging me to have a marathon and I can't resist.”
“I’ve actually only seen the one, but I liked it a lot.” Steve admitted. “Dustin’s been on me to watch them all, so I figured this was as good a time as any, at least until the power goes out.”
“It pains me to ask, but which one have you seen? Please don’t say..”
“The one with the teddy bears!” Steve said gleefully, knowing exactly what he was doing.
Eddie raked a hand over his face. “Forget everything I said before, you are the absolute worst.”
Steve tossed a pillow at him. Eddie fell dramatically off the couch and the two of them burst into giggles like children. A warmth started to grow in Steve’s chest. Maybe Dustin was right, maybe he would come out of this with a friend.
They made it through the first movie and another six pack before Steve called for a break. The storm was now fully raging outside, the wind strong enough to rattle the windows and the T.V. was no longer providing enough distraction. Eddie agreed and started looking through the board games hidden in a cabinet next to the entertainment center.
“This is the one!” Eddie exclaimed triumphantly, returning to the couch with his choice.
“Battleship?” Steve questioned.
“What’s wrong with Battleship?!”
“Nothing at all. I was expecting you to make me play scrabble or something I would be equally terrible at.”
Eddie beamed. “This is way more fun, especially if you provide your own sound effects.”
They took a few minutes to place their boats. True to form, Eddie made a big show out of ensuring that Steve didn’t peek, placing a half folded checkerboard on the table between them as a privacy screen. Although Steve was pretty sure he only did it to make him laugh.
After a few misses (both of them), and a hit (Steve), Eddie became unusually quiet. Since they had broken the ice in the kitchen, he had been keeping up a pretty regular stream of chatter, even during the movie, peppering in fun facts and trivia. Which, come to think of it, usually bothers Steve when Dustin does it, but for some reason with Eddie he didn’t seem to mind.
He was about to ask if anything was wrong, when Eddie finally spoke up.
“Hey, um, I just wanted to thank you for letting me stay here. Sorry, I should have said that hours ago, but I was too busy being a jerk.”
“It’s fine. You had every reason to think I was still the same asshole I used to be.”
“It’s not that, well, it was a little bit that, but also - I don’t know if you remember ‘79? I had just moved here to live with my uncle Wayne not long before, and he got stuck at work when the storm hit. He couldn’t even call to tell me what was going on because the phone lines were knocked out almost right away. I know it was scary for a lot of people but being in a shitty fragile trailer for it, and all alone, as a kid? It was fucking terrifying. So, thanks.”
Steve felt his eyes well up a bit, imagining little 13 year old Eddie all the way across town from 12 year old Steve, completely unknown to each other, but sharing such a similar experience nonetheless. Without thinking, he placed his hand over Eddie’s where it sat on the table, and squeezed.
“I remember. My parents were away then too, like they are now. The wind was so loud, sometimes it would whistle through the attic. I remember thinking it sounded like there were ghosts having a party up there. I hid in my closet with a toy flashlight the whole night. Believe me when I say, I'm glad you’re here.”
It was Steve’s turn to blush for once when he realized their hands were still touching. He took his hand back slowly and cleared his throat.  Eddie did the same, hands twisting together to play with his rings.
“I think that’s why I was so intense earlier. When Wayne finally got home and saw how freaked out I was, he took the time to explain what to do if it ever happened again. I guess I really latched onto that lesson.”
Thunder cracked suddenly and loudly in the distance, making both of them jump, and breaking whatever somber spell had fallen over them with a fit of nervous laughter.
For over an hour they went round after round, as the rain continued to beat against the windows, and Steve couldn’t believe how much fun he was having playing a dumb kids game. While they did, Eddie told him about how he’d met the boys on the first day of school. How he’d noticed Dustin first, because of his Weird Al t-shirt, the one Steve had tried to talk him out of but the kid insisted was cool. The way he knew instantly that he would be taking him and the others under his wing.
Steve shared too, though he had to skirt the truth quite a bit. He talked about showing up at Nancy’s with flowers ready to apologize for something he didn’t even do, when he got cut off by Dustin and roped into looking for his missing cat.
“It was all downhill from there. Suddenly I'm chauffeuring 6 kids to the arcade every Saturday and giving hair tips before the snow ball dance.”
“No shit? That kid really must be something if ‘the hair’ was willing to give up his secrets.”
One minute they were laughing and sharing a smile over the game board, and the next, the lights blinked, sending Steve hurtling straight back to that night in the Byers living room, the first time he’d been forced to fight for his life.
Steve froze, unable to reconcile the reality in front of him and his memories for a brief moment. The lights flickered a few more times and he snapped back to the present, rushing, not to the kitchen where all the candles and flashlights were (where Eddie went), but to the front door where he kept his nail bat hidden in an umbrella stand. He made it back to the living room, heart pounding and breath coming in short gasps, at the same time Eddie did. The other boy’s arms were full of candles and the two flashlights. Their eyes met across the small space for only a second before the lights finally went out for good.
-
The next thing Steve was aware of was Eddie’s voice trying to talk him down from what he slowly realized was a panic attack.
“You need to relax, Steve, you're hyperventilating. Take a deep breath. Come on, breathe with me slow, in and out.” Eddie spoke from a few feet away, hands out in front of him, as if he felt the need to show they were empty. Steve didn’t understand, but he did his best to follow the directions, finding it difficult to stay focused.
Eddie’s gaze kept flicking from Steve’s face to his right hand, and back again. He looked worried. Steve didn’t like that, he preferred it when the other boy smiled at him. He followed the path of Eddie's eyes when he could, and finally realized the problem.
He dropped the bat instantly and stepped away from it, wrapping his arms tightly around himself as he once again tried to breathe normally.
Eddie approached then, using gentle hands to guide Steve back to the couch. He must have finally felt safe now that Steve had dropped his literal weapon!! Oh god, what the fuck had he been thinking? The more he leveled out the more embarrassed he felt. How was he ever going to explain this? Eddie must think he’s a total psychopath now.
The room around them glowed with the light of a dozen or more candles. When had Eddie managed that? Steve couldn’t remember.
When he finally caught his breath and the shaking in his body had subsided, Steve dropped his head into his hands. Everything was fine, everyone was fine. He shoved down the need to race upstairs and find the walkie talkie Dustin had given him.
“Mind telling me what that was all about?” Eddie finally asked.
“Nothing!” Steve snapped, immediately regretting it.
“See, Harrington, here’s the thing. People don’t usually react that way to lights blinking and shit. Normally, I'd let the lie go, because we don’t exactly know each other that well, but, explain to me why I saw Dustin, Mike, and Lucas react almost the same goddamn way when the lights were on the fritz at the school last week? Those three were so on edge that day, I thought they were gonna piss themselves when their characters stumbled across a demogorgon.”
At the mention of the monster he had just been thinking about, Steve snapped his head up to look at Eddie. He expected to find annoyance, or even anger on the other boy’s face, but all he saw was concern. Steve hadn’t known about the incident at school, none of the kids told him. He assumed they were coping better than he was, that maybe because they were so young they were able to bounce back, but it sounds like they have all just been pretending too.
He didn’t realize he was crying silent tears until Eddie laid a hand on his shoulder. At the contact, the dam broke, and a sob was torn from Steve's chest. He felt, more than saw, Eddie's arms wrap around him, holding him tight, and sagged into the embrace. He’s only ever let it all out like this with Robin, and that was different. She’d been there with him in the trenches, at least this last time. She understood. Eddie didn’t even know him before today, not really, but still he was there and really seemed to care. Steve wasn’t used to that.
“What happened to all of you?” Eddie asked, whispering the question into his hair.
Even if he wanted to, Steve couldn't tell him. They signed paperwork, threats were made. Though, did he really need to be worried about that still? The lab didn’t have much of a presence in Hawkins anymore, and after Joyce blew up the gate at Starcourt, it seemed like this whole Upside-Down mess might finally be done for good.
Steve realized with a start that he’s trying to talk himself into it, he wants to tell Eddie, but he’s so scared. It’s not even about the NDA’s anymore, but about opening himself up to another person and being rejected for it. He doesn’t know why he's comparing this tentative friendship with Eddie to when he dated Nancy. It’s not the same, of course it’s not, but still, he remembers how refusing to talk about what happened, how pretending everything was okay, was a big part of what ruined their relationship, and he doesn’t want that to happen here. Still, he hesitated.
“We’re not supposed to talk about it.” Steve answered, pulling back from the hug, though he didn’t really want to.
“You may not know this about me, Harrington, but I'm pretty good at keeping secrets.”
“I think, I would actually really like to talk about it if I could. The only people I have now are the kids, but it feels wrong to burden them with that. I mean, I have Robin but..”
“Buckley too?”
“Yea.”
“Is that why you two are attached at the hip all of the sudden? Some kind of trauma bond?”
Steve nodded, keeping his mouth firmly closed. It was taking everything he had not to spill his guts when he looked into the other boy’s deep brown eyes. How was Eddie having this effect on him?
Eddie considered him for a long time before finally nodding to himself and blowing out a long breath. “I can’t believe I'm going to offer this, but what if I tell you something of mine, one of my secrets, first. Then you’ll have leverage or whatever, to prove I won't tell anyone what you tell me?”
Honestly, Steve was more concerned about Eddie not believing him than about him blabbing, but it’s too good an offer to refuse, and now he’s desperate to know what Eddie's secret is.
“Ok.”
“Now, I’m only telling you this because if you are as close to Buckley as I think you are, you’ll be cool with it. But if it's not.. cool, please just dont tell anyone, ok? You can kick me out or whatever, but I'm not really looking to get murdered before my 21st birthday." Eddie looked nervous suddenly, and it filled Steve with guilt. He should stop him, tell him he doesn’t have to say this, whatever it is.
“I’m gay.” Eddie tossed it out there and very clearly seemed to be bracing himself for the worst.
Steve gaped at first, but pulled himself together quickly, folding his arms around Eddie the same way he had just done for him. “That’s…really great, man. Thank you for telling me.”
Eddie relaxed in his hold, and Steve decided he wouldn't let go first.
Eventually, Eddie pulled back with a smirk. “So, it's great, huh?”
Steve rolled his eyes, but he knew if there was more light in the room Eddie would be able to see that he was blushing furiously.
“I can’t believe you told me that just to make me feel comfortable sharing. I don’t know what to say.” Steve admitted.
Eddie shrugged. “I figured it was a big enough thing that you would accept it in return for telling me what your deal is. Besides, I was pretty sure I could trust you.”
“You can.” Steve quickly assured him.
“So, tell me.”
Steve’s stomach dropped. He’d never given the whole spiel alone before, or really at all. After her baptism by fire, he’d slowly told Robin about their previous battles in bits and pieces, whenever they shared a sleepless night, and even then, Dustin had come along later and filled in some of the gaps.
“You might not believe me.” It probably sounded like bullshit, or like he was trying to get out of their agreement, but Steve had to say it.
Eddie was not deterred. “Try me.”
There’s nowhere to start but the beginning, Steve thought, and took a deep breath.
“Do you remember when Will Byers went missing a couple years ago?”
“Of course. The boys talk about him almost as much as they talk about you. He moved to California right?”
“Yeah. We’ll get to that, but there's a lot to cover before that part of the story.”
Eddie leaned back into the couch, getting comfortable and waving a hand to encourage Steve to carry on.
He began in fits and starts, and confused the timeline at least once when he described the events of 1983, but the longer he spoke the easier it came. Eddie was attentive, but didn’t ask any questions, and didn't interrupt until he mentioned the fight with Billy Hargrove when he defended Lucas, and even then he only gasped. Eddie patiently let Steve get his story out however he needed to. When he got to Starcourt, and the torture he endured at the hands of the Russians, he heard Eddie sniffle and looked up to see tears shining in the other boy’s eyes. Eddie reached out for Steve's hand, and didn't let go.
“El took it really hard. Hopper had really just become her dad and then she lost him. Joyce took her in and moved the four of them to California for a fresh start. It’s hard to have them so far away, for the kids especially, but I know Nancy misses Jonathan too. I don’t blame her though, Joyce, she's doing what she can to protect her kids and I can respect that. At this point, I'm just trying to figure out how to live again, for the third time, now that it’s all over.”
When Steve was finally done, Eddie still remained silent. It made him squirm, desperate to know what he was thinking.
“So, on a scale of 1-10, how much of that did you believe?” Steve asked when he couldn't take it anymore.
“Every word.” Eddie said, sounding completely serious.
“What?!”
Eddie turned more fully to face him and took Steve’s other hand, now holding both of them, in both of his. “Steve, you’re traumatized enough that I would have probably believed if for that alone, but honestly the dead give away was the detail. No offense, but I don't believe you are creative enough to have made all of that up, and all the D&D references? There's no way you know that much about the game. No way.”
Steve cracked a smile. “Oh yeah? Is that all?”
Eddie returned the smile but his eyes looked sad. “I remember all those times you got your pretty face bashed in, Harrington. This.. explanation, almost makes more sense than the rumors. Jesus, you’re still carrying some evidence of what was apparently Russian fucking torture. I..”
Steve surged forward abruptly, barreling into him. “Thank you for believing me.”
Eddie laughed, and they were pressed so close together that Steve could feel the low rumble of it in his chest. It made him shiver.
“Henderson is going to be so pissed that I told you.” Steve joked.
“He doesn't have to know that you told me. I was serious before, I can keep a secret.”
Steve shook his head. “It might be good for them to have another adult around who knows. We’re awfully short of them these days.”
“And you're sure it’s…over?”
“Pretty sure, yeah. El doesn’t have her powers anymore, so she can’t open a gate, the lab is gone, and we destroyed the one at Starcourt so…”
Comically, the lights that had been off for over two hours chose that exact moment to flicker on and then off again.
“Well, I'm never going to sleep again.” Eddie declared.
“Welcome to the club, Munson.”
-
They spent the rest of the night lying together on the couch quietly listening to the wind and the rain. For the first time for Steve, and he suspects for Eddie also, the sound was soothing and not fear-inducing. Their hands had remained clasped long after they were done talking, and as the hour got late, and they sunk further into the couch together, their arms and legs became intertwined too.
At some point, Steve realized Eddie fell asleep. He let himself gaze at the other boy in a way he never would have allowed himself if he was being watched. He looked so pretty like that in the candlelight, face relaxed. Very gently so as not to wake him, Steve pushed a bit of his hair back, admiring the way Eddie's long dark eyelashes brushed his cheek. Something seized in his chest and Steve sucked in a sharp breath. He’s never looked at a guy like this before, never felt this way about another boy. He should probably be freaking out about that a little more than he was, right?
He paused to look inside himself, and tried to drudge up the panic he thought he should feel in this moment, but found very little. He’s liked a lot of people in his life, and felt like he could always find something to love about a person, something beautiful or interesting. It didn’t matter if they were a girl or a boy. He just always assumed when he liked a boy it was in a friendly way. Maybe he was wrong.
He smiled to himself, realizing that Robin was going to be so mad that he’s accepted this new thing about himself so readily and completely without her assistance. Steve looked down again and found Eddie still fast asleep. He leaned down to press the lightest kiss on his forehead, before carefully extracting himself from the couch to blow the candles out. He didn’t want to move but it was too dangerous to fall asleep with them lit. When it was done, he didn’t even consider going up to his bedroom, instead he curled back up beside Eddie on the couch and let out a contented sigh.
And maybe the peace he felt in this moment was temporary, maybe he’ll panic about it later when he does tell Robin what he’s realized, but for right now he’s just happy to lay there, gazing into the face of the pretty boy who, in the course of one evening, had wrapped himself tightly around Steve's heart.
My Jason Todd Headcanons:
After his identity was revealed in Under The Hood, Steph was the first person who he willingly let hug him.
He started to let others hug him but to do this day he hasn't been able to bring himself to let Bruce hug him.
He names his guns. However the names keep changing because he is incredibly indecisive, they're always based on literary characters though (and usually he renames them to his favourite characters in whatever book he's currently reading).
He can out bench all Batfam members except Bruce (and sometimes Dick) in the gym but no one has ever been able to out squat him (we don't call him Thunder Thighs for nothing).
When he was a kid he would always try his best to protect the working girls and boys in Crime Alley from being harassed by the cops. He would antagonize and insult the officers until they tried to detain him then he would run off and force them to chase him, leading them away from the workers and their corners and making himself a more interesting target. This would often result in him being roughed up or sent to spend a night or two in a cell.
The working girls and boys adored him for this and would constantly dote on him and jokingly say they adopted him or that he was their son. They'd often help him out and keep him company when his mum's dealers were over at his apartment or when she was sick. They'd even spot him cash when he was desperately low.
When he returned as Red Hood he realised he could finally put up a fight against the cops trying to start shit and he has made it clear that under his watch, in Crime Alley, no one fucks with the working girls and boys.
He had tattoos before the Pit, just really shitty stick and pokes, but because of the healing properties of the Pit mistaking the ink as a foreign body under his skin it 'healed' them so he lost all his tattoos. He was pissed that he had to start over again. Except for one. He had one super embarrassing tattoo that he will never talk about to anyone.
He has an issue with laughter. It's one of his PTSD triggers, even if it doesn't necessarily sound like Joker he can't help himself from flinching whenever someone catches him off guard and laughs.
He hates the cold. It reminds him of being stuck in the coffin, so during winter he piles all his blankets onto his bed, makes a hot water bottle (or two) and curls into a little ball. If he still can't get warm after that he layers up and goes for sprints around the block.
He harbours a deep, visceral hatred for the Hamilton Musical. I will not explain further.
He listens to brown noise to sleep. This is solely because I do so now he must too.
He creates trauma playlists of music. I don't know how to explain this one but it includes songs like HAHA by Lil Darkie, the entire Sobville album by Arrested Youth, and Family Line by Conan Grey.
When he found out the first Robin's name was Dick he burst out laughing and upon meeting Dick he couldn't look him in the eyes for a week without giggling.
Along with being a literary buff he's also a history nerd. He combines the two interests and just has massive history tomes. Him and Damian first started bonding over their love of history, specifically their interest in Mesopotamia and it's mythology.
He had chronic pain. I know technically the Pit would have healed his wounds fully and properly but fuck that. He has flair ups from old broken bones from the Joker attack, he has itchy and sore scars, and random coughing fits from all damage done to his lungs when he was crawling out of his grave. His memory also isn't what it used to be, again thanks to crowbar to his cranium and all that darn blood loss.
Lollipops
Timari January Day 1: Lollipop
By @maribat-calendar-events
Listen, when Marinette Dupain-Cheng opened up a clinic, she had been expecting a lot of things.
Children, since she was officially in pediatric care. You know, the branch devoted to treating children.
Eventually, she expanded to consider her patients might include henchmen, as well. And she had been mentally prepared, perhaps, to possibly meet their bosses, if they wanted to thank her for their services in person, though she had doubted this.
She had not, however, been expecting to look a vigilante dead in the eyes (domino mask, it didn’t matter)... or, at least, not like this. She had been expecting to get approximately one glimpse of their usual suits and then have a fist obscure most of her vision. Not to see him hunched over in one of her chairs, hugging the knife buried in his side.
“... hi,” she said, glancing behind herself at the Scarecrow goon she had been about to lead out the door. “I can get to you in a minute.”
The vigilante didn’t say ‘okay’, but he didn’t say ‘no’, either. From what she had been told, this wasn’t uncommon. Introverts, the lot of them.
She quietly closed the door and pointed the goon towards the exit, and waited a few minutes with her ear against the door to make sure he hadn’t gotten immediately jumped by a second, secret vigilante. Once she was reasonably sure that the henchman had gotten away to safety, she went back to the vigilante who was, apparently, in her care.
He was… still in that chair. Stab wounds will do that to you, she supposed.
She hesitated as she eyed him up and down.
This was Red Robin, she was pretty sure, though he could have been Robin or Red Hood or really just any other male vigilante in Gotham… they all looked the same. She wasn’t going to say it aloud, though, she didn’t want to risk being wrong. Embarrassing.
Also, she was pretty sure she was on thin ice right now. Getting his name wrong might just screw her over.
Thankfully, he was aware of her presence immediately, and she didn’t have to call his name to get his attention.
She sent him a slightly nervous smile. “You do know this is pediatric care, don’t you? I was trained to treat children.”
“The guy before me wasn’t a child.”
“He has a kid,” she said. Technically, this was true.
“Was the kid here?”
“I plead the fifth. And the fourth. And any other applicable laws that might help me right now.”
He snorted. “I’m not a cop.”
“You still get people arrested, I’m not going to risk it.”
He lifted his hands in a kind of ‘I surrender’ gesture, only to wince. He quickly went back to applying pressure to his wound, which was probably for the best.
Marinette shook her head to herself, sighing. “I’ll bring my equipment over here. I’d rather not have to carry you.”
“I can still walk,” he said.
He moved as if to stand. She grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed him back down, giving him a cold look.
“Don’t do that. Christ.”
He groaned and slumped back in his chair, pouting like the child that she was supposed to actually be getting. How had her life come to this?
You say ‘ohmygod why are you bleeding on my doorstep oh my FUCKING GET INSIDE’ to a henchman one time and suddenly it just becomes your thing.
She sighed internally as she went about collecting her things and then sighed externally when her eyes flicked to the security footage. She had put a camera next to the door a while back, when she had first started taking henchmen. She didn’t use it often, she really just had it to make people at least hesitate before trying to steal things.
Anyways, the point is, Red Robin was not in the chair she had left him in.
She made sure her next footstep was audible, before feigning a pause to make sure she had everything she needed.
By the time she stepped out, he was back in his chair, looking for all the world as if he had never left.
Marinette hated life.
She was quick in stitching him up. Perhaps quicker than was strictly medically advisable, but whatever. This wasn’t meant to be permanent or anything, this was just to last him until Batman could, like, magically fix it. Or whatever that cryptid of a man did. Marinette, frankly, preferred not knowing.
She pulled back, wiping bloody hands on the towel around her neck.
“Normally, I’d say to take things easy for the next few weeks, minimum, but considering…” she shrugged. “I dunno. Just try not to pop those.”
He tilted his head to the side consideringly for just a moment.
And then he laughed. “No promises.”
“It was worth a shot.”
He jumped to his feet, and she cringed just slightly. But it wasn’t like she could stop him if that was what he wanted to do. She could only mumble a few curses under her breath and move to leave so she could close up shop.
Red Robin lingered for just a few seconds longer than she expected him to.
Marinette narrowed her eyes at him briefly. She figured it was probably best to just ask him outright whether or not he needed to go through some files. He was going to do it regardless of her wishes, and she liked pretending to have free will.
“So, is my clinic up to par with your standards?”
Red Robin didn’t bother denying that he had had ulterior motives for visiting.
Instead, he held up a candy he had grabbed from the jar on her desk.
“For sure. You guys have lollipops.”
would you guys mind if i just dumped a bunch of sanji/usopp/sanuso headcanons lmao 🧍‍♂️(putting these under a readmore because there's a LOT)
sanji
-wasian (korean on his moms side)
-his natural hair color is technically black but due to the mutation being partially suppressed, his hair is blonde. he had to start dyeing his hair after the mutation awakened because if he gets too upset/emotional while fighting, his hair will begin turning black
-bisexual + nonbinary. feminine in a show dog boy poodle kind of way. mainly uses he/him but is ok with close friends using she/they too.
-extremely claustrophobic. cannot stand to wear things around or over his head for very long.
-this is more in the vein of a modern au but: he understands but doesn’t fluently speak french (zeff never formally taught him. he knows a few phrases in korean)
-has hardcore perfectionism thats tied to his self worth. everything he does has to be up to his “standard” or he spirals
-has an eating disorder that only chopper and usopp know about in detail. wont eat until everyone else has eaten.
usopp
-afro latino
-bisexual + trans man. post-ts he gains the confidence to enjoy his femininity more, which he does with nami and occasionally robin as well
-has an anxiety disorder and adhd. listening to him info dump is kinda hypnotic ngl. even luffy stays invested most of the time. started taking antidepressants after thriller bark
-more intelligent than he gives himself credit for. he's an incredibly fast learner.
-bigger and heavier post-ts. he's probably only second to zoro in terms of bulk. has THE MOST cake out of everyone on the crew (yes even franky)
-has a difficult/different relationship with food. surviving on boin left him with some weird stress responses
-similarly, he doesn't really enjoy eating meat as much anymore because of boin. (fish is fine, it's mostly red meat he can't always eat)
-him, robin, chopper and luffy have drawing sessions together where they just draw on a giant sheet of paper.
-keeps an immaculate record of everything he's grown in his garden and sketches every single interesting plant he sees on islands.
sanuso specific:
-both of them wish they had each other in their lives when they were kids
-before they got together, they both thought "does he feel this thing we have too? what if i'm misreading the signs because i've never been this close to anyone like this before?"
-even thought they're dating, they still have their typical playful, bickering dynamic where they like to tease each other because they're so comfortable around each other. strangers are surprised when they find out sanji and usopp hadn't grown up together.
-sanji isn't ridiculously doting and over the top like he can be with nami or robin, but he's still stupidly romantic and affectionate even when he's not trying to be. usopp is, of course, very endeared by this
-they're both vers switches but sanji tends to be more of a sub
Wraith Radio Pt. 2
Part 1
“You’re listening to Wraith Radio, your number one link to the living realm. I’m your host, the wandering ghost, Ellie Phantom. It’s day two of my adventure in Gotham City, and I gotta say, today was… wild. Bit of context for those who missed the start of yesterday’s show, long story short, I publicly told the Red Hood that I would wait for him at this place called Park Row so I could take him to a doctor in the ghost zone because his body is bad.
After I ended the show, I got this call from my cousin, Danny. He and his friends back in Amity had been listening, and they think that, because I never showed off any of my powers or anything, and cause I look like any other human, he might not have actually believed I was a ghost. Which, fair, I guess.
So now I’m thinking, ‘well, no big deal, I can just show him my ghost form.’ Buuuuut then I remember the stupid amount of curses and stuff all around this city, and as part of the ghost population who technically never experienced death— no, that time I melted does not count— I’d like to prolong that experience for as long as possible if you don’t mind. Where was I? Oh right, so now I’m thinking, ‘well, no problem, I can just open up a portal, bring him to the zone, and transform there.’ Quick, simple, no problem.
So we come to today. I’m at the meeting spot, it’s five minutes to the meeting time, and I’m sitting on the edge of this rooftop, keeping an eye out for the arrival of the Red Hood.
And then a building blows up.
Right across the street, the top floor of this sketchy run down place I had been staring at, just. Boom! And then I hear all these gunshots, and screaming, and I look down at my watch, and I have about four minutes before noon, so I turn invisible, float over, and poke my head through the wall. Right there, center of the room, I see Batman, Robin, Red Robin, and Red Hood fighting this… I dunno, skinny twink with like a burlap sack over his head? Look, it took me a week to memorize the Gotham vigilante’s names and costumes alone, I wasn’t going out of my way to look up their entire rogues gallery. But anyway, they’re fighting this guy and a bunch of people who I assume are working for this guy, and I see some people tied up in the corner screaming their heads off for no clear reason. I mean, yes, I know it’s scary being tied up by an evil scarecrow of a man, but when I say screaming, I don’t mean ‘please, save me, I’m in distress’ screaming, I mean ‘the soulshredder just sliced through me and now I’m seeing my worst fears manifested in front of my eyes’ screaming.
So I get a little closer, I land on the floor, and just, to go off on a bit of a tangent for a second, the Gotham vigilantes are just. So much taller than me. I felt so incredibly tiny being in the same room as them. Like, yeah, I know I’m short, but I had hoped that I would at least be the same height as Robin, but no. I swear, every time I stand next to someone who’s supposed to be close to my ‘physical’ age, I become more and more convinced that the billionaire who made me had absolutely no idea what he was doing. He brought me to life and was like ‘you’re a twelve year old!’ and I was like ‘you’re right!’ because I had no frame of reference because I was born that morning. Anyway, so I get closer to the screeching humans being held against their will, and I feel this scratchy, almost burning feeling in the back of my throat. I try to brush it off, but then I look down, and I see my body fucking melting.
Now this isn’t be my first time melting, so my first thought isn’t ‘oh god I’m gonna go from half to full ghost,’ or even ‘ugh this shit again,’ but rather ‘why the fuck doesn’t this hurt?’ Because I know exactly what melting is supposed to feel like, and it isn’t a feeling you can just ignore. Like, I can’t really describe it to someone who’s never had every muscle in their body suddenly coalesce into one, with every attached nerve ending screaming louder than a heavy metal band, but trust me when I say that the “pain” I was feeling was barely anything compared to actually melting, like it felt more like my skin was itchy than anything. So, I try poking one of the places where my body is melting— don’t ask me why, I don’t really know why I did it— and instead of feeling ectoplasm drip over my hands, I just feel… my arm. And I realize, ‘oh, not only is this just an illusion, it’s a shitty one.’ Or, y’know, at the very least one that doesn’t work too well on a halfa.
So I shake that off, cause yeah, I don’t like seeing myself melt again, but as long as it’s not actually happening again, I’m good. Plus, if it does start again, I do still have my extra ecto dejectos in my bag, and yes, Danny, I will call you if it actually happens, sorry if I almost gave you a heart attack a few minutes ago. Anyway, I turn back to all the tied up screaming people, and I notice these, like, fog-machine-looking-thing next to all of them, and I get closer to one, and the scratchy feeling at the back of my throat gets worse, so now I’m thinking ‘oh, this must be what’s causing everyone to see things.’ So I turn my arm intangible, stick it into this machine, and I pull out this bottle of just… the worst smelling chemicals I’ve ever been near, which is saying a lot for someone born and raised in a basement lab. But, it stops the fog machine, so I plug it with some stuff from my bag, and pocket it so I can’t smell it anymore. I keep doing this to each of the nearby machines, and eventually the front pocket of my bag is just completely stuffed with gross chemicals.
So that’s over with, and I look over to see if the fight’s done, but no, they’re all still going at it, which means I still can’t talk to Red Hood and get him to the Zone, so I figure I have some time to kill. And I remember that there’s, like, ten or so people tied up against their will, so I start freeing all of them. Obviously, the ropes themselves are really easy, all I really need to do is phase them off. The people, on the other hand, are crazy hard to get to actually do anything other than scream. Like, I try pushing people towards the exit, I try dragging them across the floor, anything to get them to leave the building which is— in case you forgot— on fire. I mean it’s just the top floor, but I’ve heard from Ember that a fire anywhere in the house could be the cause of a human’s death, especially if no one’s watching it, and I doubt that anyone is actually watching that fire.
So now I’m kinda panicking, cause I was hoping the fight would be over by now and all these people would have been brought outside, but not only is the fight not over, I look over and see the bad guy throw these cans over at the people, and I realize that they’re giving off the exact same poison-fog as the machines from earlier. And I’m just. So pissed off. Like, I just took care of that!! For all I knew, that illusion stuff could’ve worn off in a few minutes, and I wouldn’t have to worry about keeping all these people alive!!
Side note— Danny. I get it now. I get the whole ‘desperate need to protect any and all humans’ feeling you were talking about.
They are just… so easy to put into danger.
Holy shit.
Anyway, I’m feeling that whole ‘selfless anger on behalf of strangers’ thing for the first time, and I think it turns my brain off, cause I just pick up the cans and throw them at the bad guys head while yelling ‘FUCK YOU, DIPSHIT!’
And my invisibility drops.
So.
Not my best decision.
But not my worst, because my aim was perfect.
I’m pretty sure I knocked him unconscious, but I’ll be honest I wasn’t really paying attention to that guy anymore because I had just revealed one of my abilities— not to mention I think my eyes were glowing— in front of the fucking Batman. Now, I don’t know if the rumors about him hating metas are true, but I do know that most humans fucking hate ghosts, that I definitely don’t know what he thinks I am, and that I’m not risking my ass to find out. So, invisibility goes back up, and I start to book it before I remember that the whole fucking reason I showed up was to help out Red Hood. So I take a flyer, write “sorry, try again tomorrow?” on the back, and then I get the fuck out.
I wind up flying so fast back to this little hideout I’m staying at that I guess I wound up jostling some things in my bag? Yeah, by the time I get back, I feel this… leaking through my bag. And I take it off, so I can check out the damage, and uh…
Ok, so remember how I mentioned those ecto dejectos I keep on me? Well, I tend to keep them in the front pocket. And the scary-illusion-liquid-stuff was also put in the front pocket. And one of the bottles and an ecto-dejecto hit each other just a bit too hard. And apparently. When these two things are combined. You get… a blob ghost. Who only knows how to melt.
I’ve named him Goop, and he’s the most pathetic creature I’ve seen in my life. He just melts until all of his body is liquid, then it all just blorps back together. He’s solid for like a second, then he starts to melt again. Also he keeps trying to drink the scary-illusion-liquid. I’ve been holding him in my lap this entire time, and while he’s not hard to stop, I do still need to sleep, so if anyone has any advice on how to handle a mutant blob ghost, I’m all ears. Also, if theres any specific way to get rid of mysterious chemicals that honestly shouldn’t exist, please tell me, otherwise I’m just gonna find a sink and dump it.
Anyway, that’s enough about my day, onto things I’ve heard about the city…”
————————
The batfam stared silently at the glowing radio that Jason had brought.
And an unspoken agreement was reached.
Meta, ghost, whatever— this was a child with absolutely no adult supervision, severe trauma, an unknown set of powers, and a ridiculous amount of fear toxin. Not to mention something that she described to be a “mutant blob ghost.”
It was time to do a bit of research into the kid.
Or, it would, were it not for the fact that “Wraith Radio” didn’t seem to exist online, nor did “Ellie Phantom.” It was also likely she used a fake name for her show, since there didn’t seem to be any records of an “Ellie Phantom” anywhere.
Of course, that wasn’t enough to deter them. After all, she herself had mentioned her family.
And so, they began looking into Amity and her cousin, Danny.
The Waynes
Authors Note: So this is my first male reader insert..... and it's pretty bad....... so if you don't like it, don't read this one.
Also, really long, sorry
Info: I mean you could be female but I'm gonna be using he/his/him if you guys want I'll do the female one of this too, let me know if you guys want that.
Background: You are m/n Queen son of Oliver Queen and Nyssa (spelling of that please?)Al Ghul. You, like your dad, 'brother' and 'cousin', are an archer however you have other powers too.
Control of all ellements including shadow and light.
Shapeshifting like Beastboy, you're not green though, all your animals are black.
Your favourite form is a large wolf that people believe is a dog when in civvies.
You are also half demon... thanks alot Ras...
You also have super speed like Barry who is your Godfather.
Your Suit is similar to Dick's though it is just black.
Nobody knows the batboys' secret IDs yet except for m/n in this one. Also Dick and m/n have been dating for 4 years and m/n is very protective of not just Dick but of all the batkids. The team doesn't know this though 'cause they don't show it as Nightwung and Ghost (if you have a better hero name for him please let me know cause i'm thinking he's going to pop up in alot of my other oneshots, pehaps another book, and I can't come up with anything better than that so please help), though they are close.
Dick Grayson is a clingy, cuddly teddy bear. .
They will sometimes flirt with one another.
Bruce trusts him with the birds 'cause he's technically Damians causin and part demon.
He is the only 'meta' allowed in Gotham.
Also the boys all listen to him and like to cuddle when they seek comfort or warmth. (He runs hotter than a normal human and can adjust his body temperature)
Also Dick has an accent that he hides as Nightwing and m/n absolutely adores it, Dick has no idea why.
Nightwin's P.O.V.
It's a normal day at the cave. We were all doing our own thing when the Zeta beam lit up.
'Recognized Batman 01'
Everybody groaned as the big bad bat entered and ordered us to the mission room.
I groaned softly as I looked at the screen and saw a family photo of us on it. I could hear 'Red' Robin do the same slightly behind me and m/n snickering softly beside me. I nudge m/n in the ribs rather harshly and hear him grunt softly in response and I smirk.
"Team, as you probably know, this is the Wayne family. Recently, the oldest, Richard Grayson-Wayne, has been receiving death threats..."
Out of the corner of my eye I see m/n get a dark look on his face as he glares darkly at the wall behind Bats. I also see a slight green glow behind the lenses of his mask. How others don't notice it is beyond me but whatever.
"and Bruce Wayne has asked for our help in protecting his kids." Bats finishes.
"So what? We have to babysit a bunch of rich brats?" Lagoonboy growls in question. Batman and m/n twitch slightly.
"Yes." Batman says blandly. "And Nightwing, Robin, and Ghost will not be joining you." He finishes, and all three of us do a doubble take mostly 'cause Ghost wasn't going on the mission.
"Excuse me?" M/N growled, stiffening beside me the glow behind his lenses intensifying slightly. I descreatly take his hand and squeeze before letting go.
"You have a more important mission." Bats said. M/n raised a questioning eyebrow. Bats just gives him a look, and he relaxes beside me and nods once. The glow of his eyes lessened but not disappearing.
"What, why do they get to sit this one out?" Wally whines childishly
"Because Nightwing and Robin are comming with me to try and find the source of the threats and as I said Ghost has a more important mission to attend to" Batman growled making the others take a step back. Wally just pouted. I heard m/n snort in amusement at his godbrother (godcousin?).
With that, batman walked back to the zeta tubes, and the three of us followed him out and to the batcave.
Recognized Batman 01
Recognized Nightwing B01
Recognized Ghost B02
Recognized Robin B12
"So what is this ever so important mission that I am supposed to have B?" M/n asked curriously, tilting his head slightly to the left as we all removed our masks.
"You're going to make sure that my boys don't kill each other before whoever this is gets the chance, as well as making sure that they don't kill the team." Bruce said as he sat down at the Batcomputer. M/n nodded, and mock saluted before turning to me and Tim with a smile.
I smiled back as we headed to the changing rooms and then upstairs. Tim slipped upstairs and into his room as we headed into the kitchen for a small snack ( he is a speedster after all) and then headed to the living room and calapsed onto one of the coutches, to cuddle and whatch tv until dinner.
At some point, I must have dozed off because the next thing I know, I'm being lightly shaken by my boyfriend.
"Dinner time, Dickiebird." He said softly, gently brushing hair out of my face.
I hum softly as I start getting up and stretch slightly. I hear a soft chuckle from beside me, and I blush lightly, looking over at the dark-haired boy.
"What?" I ask with my accent shining through earning a soft smile and a kiss from my boyfriend. He loves my accent. I don't know why.
"Nothing, my love. You're just cute when you wake up, that's all." He says in a soft voice, causing me to blush more. I hear another soft chuckle before I am pulled up along with him. That's one of the things that I love about him, despite almost being as tall (cough taller cough) and almost as muscular as Bruce he's always so soft and gentle with my brothers and I. Unless absolutely neccessery like when breaking up a fight and even then he never uses his full strength.
"Comon before Jay eats all the food." He says in an amused tone, and I chuckle slightly, following him into the dining room and the chaos that is a normal dinner at Wayne mannor.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
M/N P.O.V.
I woke up the next morning with my beautiful Bluebird cuddled up to me still blissfully asleep. I noticed a while ago that he sleeps better when he's with me, so I come over as much as I can. I mean, I do have my own place in Gothem and have been thinking about asking him to move in with me.
Buuuttt.......
He is only barely 18, and I really don't want DaddyBats breathing down my neck. Thank you very much.
Anyway I do need to go get some clothes and stuff at home but I'm so comfortable and I really do not want to get up and besides Dick's finally getting some sleep and I know if I move he will most likely wake up.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Still M/N P.O.V.
It's about an hour later that Dick starts to stir in my arms.
I smile and lightly run my fingers through his hair. He moans softly and snuggles closer to me.
"Good morning, my love." I say softly into his hair.
"Morning." He mumbles back.
"We should probably get up and go to breakfast before Alfred sends one of your brothers to get us." I say gently, rubbing his back.
"Mmhhnmmm." He hums back. I chuckle slightly and nuzzle his hair again before starting to move to get up.
"Mmmmm." He whined in protest, clinging to me like a koala and trying to keep me in bed with him. I chuckle again and run my fingers through his hair again.
"Com'on Dickie you need to get up and eat, and I need to go to my apartment to get my stuff." I say in a soft voice.
"Nnnoooo." He whines.
"Yyyeeesss." I say in the same tone. He lets go of me and crosses his arms with a pout, and I smile before pecking his lips.
He sighs dramatically and grabs my hand before following me out of bed and then downstairs to breakfast, where all the others already are. Bruce smiles at us from over his newspaper as everybody else just looks up at us. I smile back and thank Alfred as he places coffee and breakfast in front of Dick and I.
"The team will be here in about an hour, and then I will be leaving and leaving you boys in m/n's hands. Please behave and don't kill anyone." Bruce says once he puts the newspaper down.
"They know better than to try B. Don't worry, we'll be fine." I chuckle softly while being glared at by 3 sets of eyes. I turn to the three younger boys and raise an eyebrow at their glares. They flinch and turn back to their food. I spot an amused smile on Dick, Bruce, and even Alfred's faces.
After breakfast I peck Dick's lips and leave the manor to go and collect my things from home.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
By the time I return to the manor and slip in the front door unnoticed, I notice that the team is already here seeing as I can hear the chatter comming from the lounge room. I slip over to the door of the room after placing my things at the foot of the stairs to take up later and lean against the doorframe whatching silently. I notice a set of teal eyes as well as a set of steel blue eyes (Jason and Tim who are facing the door) flick up to see who was in the doorway. I also saw the other two birds stiffen a bit before relaxing when their brothers did nothing but return to watching the team.
Most of the team looks somewhat annoyed at having to be here, or maybe it's just Jason or Damian annoying them who knows. I smirk, waiting for someone other than the birds to notice me.
They do not.
I stand there for 10 minutes before clearing my throat and taking satisfaction in whatching them jump. I know the boys noticed me the minute I walked into the doorframe, and probably when I walked in the front door, but the rest definitely did not. They really do need more training.
The team stares or glares at me as Dick jumps up and practically throws himself into my arms.
"Some protection you lot are. If I wanted to kill you all, I could have." I snarled as I held Dick to my chest, and he snuggled into my neck.
"Ghost, what the hell are you doing here? Batman is gonna kill you when he finds out you aren't on that important mission he sent you on." Artimis growled through the now established mind link. I meerly raise an eybrow and scoop Dick up, making him squeak, and carry him inside and sit on the couch with Dick in my lap and the other 3 boys get up to curl up either beside me leaning on my shoulder (Tim and Dami) or sitting on the floor leaning on my legs (Jason).
"You can talk to me outside the link they know my secret identity." I sighed as I ran my fingers through Jays hair.
"THEY WHAT!!' The team exclaims. I feel Jason and Tim flinch a bit, and I run my hands through their hair to calm them down slightly. I meerly glare at the team.
"I've known them since Dick was adopted, so what? 10 years? 11? And as you can see, we're really close, so yes, they know my identity." I say slightly annoyed.
"11." Dick murmers softly, still snuggling into my chest, eyes closed. I smile softly and kiss his hair.
The team just sits and stares at me.
"Does Nightwing know your new plaything is a rich brat?" Wally asks through the link again.
"Yes." I drawl cooly. Sneering and glaring at the fact that he just called my boyfriend a brat and implying that he is meerly a plaything, an object.
Only I get to call him a brat.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Still M/N P.O.V.
It's been a week, and I want to stab something. Peferably someone on the team. They are infuriating. They won't leave the boys alone. It's getting on their nerves as well as mine, and worse, Zatana won't stop flirtting with Dick. Because of their frustration, I've had to break up more fights than I normally have to, and Dick's become even more clingy, not that I mind that, though. We have resorted to hiding in the cave, and I have considered taking them to my place instead, but that would result in DaddyBats breathing down my neck, and again, I don't want that. It doesn't help that they can't go out on patrol to let out their anger either.
I really hope Bruce finds this guy soon.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
M/N P.O.V
Ok so I swear to God if B doesn't hurry the hell up and get his ass back here soon I'm gonna cut a bitch or I'm gonna let Jason or Damian kill them. I can see that Dick is close to thinking the same thing. And THAT'S saying something because he's probably the most sensible of us. So if they continue this they're doomed.
We've taken to hiding in the Batcave more often because otherwise there's gonna be blood and alot of it, and it helps seeing as we can try and get a lead on the guy threatening my bird.
--------------------------------------------
The team being so invasive has messed with the boys' sleeping schedule, not that they had a very good one to begin with (Read, don't have one at all). They've all become more clingy because they're tired and while I don't mind the boys being clingy the snotty and down right rude comments from the team over the mind link are starting to get to me, to the point where if Dick isn't with me at all times I fear I might go Demon on them and nobody wants that. I know I won't hurt the boys if that happens, but still not something I want to happen.
Currently, the boys and I were cuddling on the couch while the team sat around the living room chatting over the mind link. I wasn't paying them much mind instead focusing on my own mind conversation with the birds, something the team didn't know I could do. Then again, the team doesn't know my full power . Not even my 'cousin' knows. Anyway, I wasn't really paying attention to the teams conversation until a comment caught my attention, and I tensed under Dick who was again in my lap.
"I don't see what n/n sees in that brat. I mean look at him I bet he can't do anything without n/n holding his hand. I mean he can do sooo much better than these rich fakers, the kid probably doesn't even love him and is using him, I mean look who raised the kid, Bruce Wayne is a playboy and his brats probably take after their father." My 'cousin' said through the link obviously forgetting that though I was not participating in the conversation I was still connected to the mind link and could infact hear them.
Dick looked at me when I tensed and noticed that my eyes were starting to glow green. He quickly shifted in his spot and wrapped both arms and legs around me to try and calm me down. Once I was calm enough I turned to the team and gave them a glare so powerful all of them shrank away from it.
"You have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe instead of judging them based on what the danm press says about them, do the intelligent thing and get to know them first." I snarled coldly through the link, and they all flinched. I got up with Dick still being a koala bear on my waist and walked out closely, followed by the other three birds.
This is a snippet of the first chapter to my fic Robin Hood (reference to this post)
A Crow's Murder
Danny was thoroughly exhausted. Ever since he died, he could never seem to catch a break. At all. Even as a 20 year old civilian, life wanted to punch him in the face- repeatedly. Sure, he may have been stealing from labs at night (Wayne industries included) but they had tons of money for replacements! Look, ghost hunting without using his ghost powers was tough, especially when the entirety of the Fenton labs went up in flames. The only thing he had on him when he left was a blaster and a thermos, not enough for the jobs he was trying to accomplish. He really wasn’t a criminal! It was all for the greater good! He swears it! Heroes break the law to save people all the time, how is he any different? (They’re not fugitives with entire government branches after them).
Still, he didn’t want to leave Gotham just because the Bats were getting closer on his tail. He was doing so well at not using his powers, even learned how to lock pick so he avoided walking through walls! Sam would 100% be proud of him and his hard work at fucking over large corporations and unethical research.
Anyways, his little Bat problem is what led to his current situation, moving apartments into Crime alley, specifically Red Hood’s territory. When he first got to Gotham and accidentally hobbled inside he immediately ‘Noped’ right out of there. First off, the vibes were retched. Second, he knew a warning sign in aura if he ever saw one, and the border between uptown Gotham and this was blaring red lights and sirens screaming “STAY OUT”, and Danny knew how to listen to directions like that. Sadly, now he was left with no choice.
Batman had been patrolling around where he lives a little too much recently. Normally, the clan would take turns patrolling certain areas at certain times for safety, but not recently. Danny knew they were catching onto him. His ghostliness messed with cameras when he let his aura loose, but it didn’t erase the fact that the footage existed. He knew they didn’t have a clear picture of him or his abilities, but they knew he existed and knew he was a phantom thief, and that was enough. Danny no longer questioned their titles as ‘best detectives in the world’. After all, they were giving him a run for his money.
Moving to Crime Alley was indeed the best option, though. Danny had analyzed the bats and their movements ever since he moved here a year ago at 19. He knew that after Red Hood had his whole war with them, they backed off of the area and the haunt finally settled as the vigilante’s territory. Now, a few years after that, the bats left the area alone except for special circumstances during major events. That meant that the safest option for the halfa right now, was to walk into the lion’s den and pray he wasn’t hungry.
.
.
.
Maybe he shouldn’t have started thieving this soon-
Currently, he was being chased to hell high waters by Red Hood and his two guns affectionately named. To be fair, he didn’t even get to actually steal anything, so technically he wasn’t breaking the law. Sure, he broke into a VladCo. Lab and went rummaging through the computers using tuckers parting gift to him- but that didn’t make him a criminal. Honestly, he was offended, didn’t even get to trash the place as a ‘fuck you’ to Vlad. The man deserved it after the shit he pulled ever since Danny turned 14. The man had disappeared like his parents, and while it was concerning, Danny couldn’t help but be glad he was gone.
“Stop!”
A robotic voice called after him from a few feet behind. How Red Hood was so large and still this fast was beyond him. Nevermind the fact that he felt dead, but not. He wasn’t necessarily a halfa, but he did have that ‘totally died and didn’t revive right’ vibes to him that just gave him a chill.
Danny didn’t answer him, just continued running for his life and jumping between buildings. Maybe he did use his powers a bit to make landings easier and make up for his obvious lack of experience or skill, no one could call him out on it.
He had just wanted information on where the man had gone. While he was thankful for the somewhat peace, Vlad disappearing always meant bad news. Worse if he was in danger and caught by the GIW. There were reports of Vlad being seen at some of the Wayne Galas, but that was half a year ago, no word since. He’d hate to say it, but he was worried. Sure, he hated the man’s guts- he was a total fruitloop and only got worse over time, but he was the first halfa, and whether Danny admitted it or not he learned a lot from him. Sue him for being a little concerned, if not for Plasmius, then for himself. The GIW having any ghost was bad news for him. Live research only spelled bad news.
The lab was practically no help. The only thing the computers contained were some schematics for his equipment in the basement, but none of it was the real dangerous stuff like the portal or even cloning pods. Danny was still happy he got the chance to destroy the lab and all the tech in it, he loved Dani, but he didn’t think he could handle another clone dying or destabilizing. Dani was in the Ghost Zone, exploring and mapping out all of its locations. He didn’t know what he’d do if she got caught in the crossfires of this war.
Danny jumped from one roof to another, he had to keep to buildings close to each other. Unlike Red Hood, he didn’t have a grappling hook to bring him across streets. He didn’t want to alert Batman of his not-totally-human status. Best case scenario he thought he was a meta who could fly and would do his whole ‘no metas in Gotham’ spiel. Worst case scenario he figured out Danny was a powerful ghost who happened to be a fugitive from the government and would turn him in. From then on Danny didn’t know what they’d do to him, but he’d never tell them how to build the portal. That information died with him and him alone.
By the time he heard bullets going past him and a rubber one hitting him square in the shoulder, he knew he had to get gone. Danny had already ran past his new home, any farther and he’d have to use his powers way longer than normal. Slowly the two had gone up in height between buildings, by now if he fell off the side he’d get at least severely injured, but that height was nothing to his flight. Danny waited another minute before speeding up and widening the distance between them before ‘slipping’ and falling down the side of the building rather ungracefully.
By the time Red Hood caught up, Danny was gone.
autistic steve definitely uses his hair as a stim. tell me im wrong, i dare u.
i think he also has a stutter {EDIT 12/25/22: stutter mentioned is more of a speech disfluency, end of word stutter used, otherwise known as word final disfluency. hope this clears up a bit of confusion! I personally only deal with a stutter occasionally but it doesn't effect me in my everyday life.} after a meltdown.
drabble: steve had been in the bathroom for 30 minutes, and dustin was getting concerned. So were robin and eddie who were there too, it was movie night.
when he thinks about it, he had noticed steve looking a little odd, and maybe a little antsy. every few seconds he'd shift in his seat and run his hands through his hair. dustin thinks if he looked close enough he would see his bones vibrating.
dustin was getting up to go check on him, and it seems robin had the same idea because she'd already made her way towards the bathroom door. dustin didn't let this stop him though, he was hot on her heels behind her.
he paused as she knocked on the door, he could hear steve humming through the thin wood door. steve doesn't give them enough credit. dustin had clocked him the moment he met him. he never made eye contact, couldn't read between the lines, and needed very clear instructions. just like mike. and max, if you want to be technical.
robin had noticed all of this too, of course. so hearing the frantic humming coming through the door was a bit concerning. she knocked again a little louder, gaining the attention of eddie, who was still in the living room. there was no answer, and the three of them looked at each other.
"stevie?" eddie asked tentatively, he'd never seen steve like this. he could tell he was having trouble masking during the movie, but didn't think much of it when he got up to go to the bathroom.
"ju-just-t.... a- a sec-ond." steves wrecked voice finally sounded through the door. robin sighed, how long had he had his hands pressed uncomfortably against his ears? too long, she thought as she moved to grab his ear defenders.
walking back, she picked the lock, opening the door, slipping in and closing the door as quickly as she opened it. they were talking quietly.
"steve you should have told one of us."
"so-orr-sssorry,"
"don't say sorry, dingus. we care about you. we want you to know that."
eddie felt a little bad about listening in, but he couldn't help the way his shoulders relaxed when hearing steves aggressive humming calm down a little bit.
dustin decided to give them privacy, and eddie followed. robin had a hold on it and eddie knew dustin trusted her enough to take care of him.
ten minutes later, steve and robin came out of the bathroom, steves face red and tear streaked, hands ringing out the last of the meltdown. "can, c-ca-an, we t... tur-n the movie down a-a l, l-ittle, please?"
almost immediately dustin lunges for the remote, muting the TV and turning on the closed captioning.
"Th- Than... Thank-k you."
"of course, buddy!" dustin said, smiling brightly.
steve might've had a bit of a rough night, but it ended smoother than it started with his friends by his side.
