A Butler’s Love

Jade loves you silently.

He isn’t one to shower you in loving words, or sing your praises. Jade knows the power of his words, considering how he uses them to bend people to his will. When it comes to you, he’ll much rather be authentic. Although, he’s not opposed to a sly line here and there. Whispered into your ear, accompanied with a deep chuckle. Jade likes making you flustered. It’s nice to see just how much of a hold he has on you.

You’ll notice his feelings in the little things. With every mushroom foray, he comes back with a handful of flowers. Jade’s taken to drying them , before pressing them in your favourite books. It’s always a pleasant surprise to see delicate blossoms tucked into the pages, remains of it’s cloying scent tickling your nostrils. You’ve taken to carrying a book around, searching for the meanings of the blossoms he tucked into those pages.

They’re always sweet, really. Through the voice of nature’s treasures, he speaks to you. The language of love, wrapping around your heart, tugging at it softly.

At the end of every book, he places a white clover. Jade’s little plea, perhaps? A silent dream of his. He’ll love for one day where he’ll be able to hold you. Hold you like a lover. Until then, he’ll toil silently. All he wishes is for you to think of him.

Floyd loves you with all his heart.

He has never been one to beat about the bush. Floyd’s direct, and he tells things as it is. No matter who he talks to, Floyd’s blunt to a fault. He does delight in the aguish of others, especially if they’re emotional. It’s always fun to watch them blow up.

With you?

He’s not really much different. Although you’ll notice Floyd poking fun at you more often then the others. It makes sense, considering you’re his master. He’s like a child, pressing at every button he can reach. Floyd’s face lights up in delight whenever you react. It’s just so fun! Lil’ Shrimpy’s reactions are the best after all.

Whether you’re happy, or you’re sad, Floyd likes all your faces. He’ll take note of visual cues, indicators of your emotions. This comes in handy, especially during events. If you’re the slightest bit uncomfortable, he’s stepping in, arm pulling you towards him. You’re sad? Floyd’s right there. Here, he’ll lean down a little. Cry on his shoulder, shrimpy. Take as much time as you need. He’s here for you. Now, and always.

Floyd reads you, over and over like a child’s treasured storybook. Pouring over every page, he knows you like the back of his hand. He loves everything about you.

Do you love him back? Floyd hopes you will.

Azul loves you sincerely.

It’s hard for him to say that about anyone, really. In the business world, that word’s used too much, too often for it to actually mean everything. Every letter signed off with that word, it’s become nothing but a formality. It’s just something you say to be polite.

But when it comes to you? Sincerely starts to take on a new meaning, for him in particular. Azul starts to take a certain sort of pride, being able to do things for you. You trust him enough to serve you personally. That’s definitely something to be proud of, no?

His biggest comforts would be paper and pen. The written world is wonderful. No one can every deny what’s inked down in black. It’s to no one’s surprise that that’s how he expresses his love. Little notes left around the house, cursive lining the pages. Words of praise, sometimes a poem, or just a simple : “ You look wonderful today.”

However, one thing is constant. He’ll always sign of with “yours sincerely.” Contrary to the emotionless words he scribbles on business letters, Azul pours his love in every letter to you.

If he’s sincere in one thing, that’ll be his love for you, his dearest master.

Crunchyroll announced that a new season of Black Butler is now in the works for a release in 2024!!! 🎉🎉

Finally! it's been 84 years....💀💀

The Art style is also quite unique for sure ✨️

(I'm assuming since you like Twst that you might like yana toboso's other works too, I'm not sure if you talked about black butler here before since this is a twst blog 😅, feel free to delete it if it bothers you)

Yes, I saw the trailer ^^ It seems like the new season will be the Public School arc (or, as I lovingly dub it, the “Prototype TWST arc”), since the arc right before it on the boat (the Luxury Liner/Campania arc) was already animated as a movie.

We often talk about how we can see the DNA of Toboso’s art style and design sense from the similarities in the BB characters and the TWST characters (the main one people point out being Sebastian and Jade), but now there are BOAT LOADS of similar characters in a SCHOOL setting with PREFECTS (basically dorm leaders/housewardens) and a SHADY HEADMASTER as well 😂 The predects even return later as idols which is basically book 5 or VDC/j

I mean, just look at the P4 by themselves; I automatically get Vil, Idia, and Sebek vibes. The only one that’s kind of “eh” in terms of a direct TWST counterpart is the glasses guy, but I’ll argue Azul here (though there’s also a shimigami, Ronald Knox, with a much stronger resemblance.)

There’s tons of other characters that feature in the Public School Arc that sort of remind me of TWST characters! Maurice Cole is like Epel, Soma showing up on an elephant screams “Kalim!”, etc.

I actually stopped reading the Black Butler manga years ago midway around the Blue Cult arc (never followed the anime, personally). However, I’m actually now really excited to see how the Public School arc is depicted in animation 👀 It’s probably my interest in TWST that’s gotten me so jazzed, haha…

How they wake you up:

Butler Octavinelle

Azul is rather meek when it comes to awakening you from your slumber. You’ve worked so hard… it would be a shame to disturb your well-deserved rest.

He’ll only push open the door at the very last second. Even then, he does it very slowly, fearing that even a creak could awaken you.

Azul isn’t too crude with the way he wakes you up. The aroma of breakfast would suffice, no?

Armed with a silver tray of your meal, he calls your name softly, gently. Cajoling you from the land of dreams.

Sometimes, if you’re in a rather deep sleep, Azul might sneak in a touch or two. Gloved fingers sliding down your face, brushing stray hairs aside with practised ease. Forgive him, but you do look adorable asleep.

“Master, it’s time to wake up…”

Jade’s a little more precise about this task. He’ll wake you up at whatever time you appoint.

The time he enters your room? Not too precise. Jade always takes it upon himself to enter a little bit earlier, if it’s just to admire your sleeping form.

So defenceless, his little master. Snoozing away, without a single care in the world. Rather endearing,truly.

As much as he’ll like nothing more but to watch you rest, you do have duties to attend to. Jade leans over you, fingers gently picking up locks of your hair, tucking them behind your ear. He whispers sweet nothings into it, breath warm, tickling your ear.

Sometimes, if you’re a little too persistent, he nibbles your earlobe. Razor sharp fangs pressing into your skin, never enough to bruise, of course. But a silent threat is sufficient, hm? If the way you bolt upright is any indicator.

“Good Morning, Master~”

Floyd’s rather erratic when it comes to waking you up. Sometimes, he barges into your room at the break of dawn, throwing himself at your bed. Sometimes, he doesn’t even slink in until noon, dragging his feet.

Somehow, ever since you’ve tasked Floyd with waking you up, you always seem to have a good night’s sleep. He observes you, throwing schedules out of the water.

If you need the rest, he’ll give it to you. What’s the point of waking Master up if they’re going to be in a slump all day? That’s no fun.

Floyd likes to pull your blanket away in your sleep. One good, sharp yank, and there goes your warmth! The way you curl and shiver… it’s just like a lil’ shrimp! That’s cute~

On certain days, when you’re remarkably tired,Floyd slides into the bed with you.Throwing his arms around your waist, giving you a good hard squeeze. That will perk you up right away, yeah?

“Wakey Wakey, Shrimp Sama!”

Hello! Halloween is also a favorite time for the two Pentergeist students, Al and Eugenio! Tidus is helping Octavinelle in all their responsibilities, wrapped as possibly the world's biggest mummy. Eugenio kind of threw shit together and called it a day (parts of every dorm's costume), and Al... He'd like to show up as one hell of a dorm leader. (I sadly don't have his outfit but can show ya Yuu/Tidus!)

[HALLOWEEN EVENT - OPEN]

Dealing with someone unpredictable as Floyd can be difficult but someone even more problematic than he is? Kara's first suggestion is always something involving violence and Tidus can't let his upperclassman do it! Can this big mummy help his dorm leader with this issue?

Maxwell admires Eugenio's costume even if he just stares at them awkwardly from the back, a creative yet resourceful idea... How fascinating. He thinks Samuel would've liked if he was there.

Speaking of...

Al's truly one hell of a dorm leader and yet Samuel thinks he's the biggest trick of the night. 16 year olds can really be mean.
