Something Goes Wrong and Bowser Jr.'s clown car ends up flying off halfway across the globe with Luigi in tow. They crash-land in a hostile environment which means they can't just wait by the wreckage for rescue, and to distract Junior from how much danger they're in Luigi pulls the two-way radio out of the car and asks if Junior can fix it.
Meanwhile back home everybody thinks that Junior kidnapped Luigi for some reason, which leads to Bowser and Mario fighting, which means nobody notices for most of a day that Junior really should have been back by now...
Surprisingly, Junior does fix the radio, and manages to contact his dad just as Bowser is starting to worry. Junior assures him they're fine, they just don't know where they are, and they're traveling in the direction Luigi thinks people most likely are. Bowser yells at Luigi that he'd better keep Junior safe, Luigi says he will, and that's that.
Until a few hours later when Junior has dropped off to sleep and Luigi uses the radio again to let Bowser know that they are not okay, there's hazards and predators everywhere, Luigi has no idea where people might be, he's just been lying and distracting Junior all day to keep him calm.
Bowser is like, "Good. Continue that." and asks Luigi for more details about where they are so he can mount a rescue team.
But out of spite Bowser doesn't tell Mario that he's heard from his brother.
The next day is more travel and more danger and once again Luigi waits until they've found shelter and Junior is asleep before radioing Bowser to update their actual progress and not just whatever Junior reported at random. This time Bowser listens a little better, and gives advice on the monsters he recognizes. Eventually Luigi actually feels a little bit reassured.
It keeps going like that for days. Luigi is running on adrenaline and fumes, they're foraging for supplies when they're not running for their lives, and since Junior is oblivious to most of the danger he keeps insulting Luigi for being a coward and a wimp. Bowser is sending out search parties to everywhere that matches their descriptions, but they're spending so much time fighting and fleeing that even if a ship flew right overhead they might not notice it.
But every night Bowser and Luigi talk, and though Bowser is still prickly about it he can't help but appreciate everything Luigi is doing for his son. Likewise, Luigi looks forward to those talks as the only time of day he can let out what he's really feeling.
Finally they stumble upon a town. Luigi goes to the first person he sees, asks where they are, reports that back to Bowser, and passes out.
Next time he opens his eyes he's laying in a doctor's office with Bowser, of all people, yelling about how hard can it possibly be to treat a guy for heat stroke?! while Junior, sound asleep, clings to Luigi's hand.
The next next time he opens his eyes he's in Bowser's castle and Bowser is fighting with Mario in the hallway about whether or not Luigi should be moved again. Luigi drags himself out of bed to tell both of them to please keep it down and he's fine and what day is it?
Over the time Luigi is recovering (it's mostly exhaustion and stress but he's not complaining about the meals in bed) he talks with Bowser more and more. About what happened, but also in general, casual conversations. Chit-chat. And Junior likes to come visit him too, even if he's just drawing or playing with toys in the corner. He still doesn't seem to understand how close they both came to dying out there, but it's clear he feels comfortable with Luigi nearby.
And so does Bowser, Bowser realizes, when it's time for Luigi to go. Those evening conversations weren't exactly enjoyable, under the circumstances, but he got used to Luigi's voice. Even with Junior back, without Luigi the castle is going to feel... empty.
Just as Bowser is trying to think of how to ask if he can see Luigi again, Luigi asks for Bowser's number.
"I'm not sure I can fall asleep anymore without hearing your voice."
Choked up, all Bowser can say is, "Sure."

Stellantis wants to make scabbing woke

I know, I know, it's weird when the worst people you know are right, even when they're right for the wrong reasons: like, the "Intelligence Community" is genuinely terrible, pharma companies are murderous crooks, and Big Tech really does have a dangerous grip on public debate. It means that canny reactionaries like Steve Bannon can trick you into taking any position merely by taking the opposite one. Bannon's followers are even more easily led, so it's easy for him to convince them that we have always been at war with Oceania. The right has created an entire mirror world of "I know you are but what am I?" politics.
Anti-vax co-opts "bodily autonomy." Climate denial becomes environmentalism ("wind turbines kill birds"). Transphobia becomes feminism ("keep women-only spaces for real women"). Support for strongmen becomes anti-imperialism ("don't feed the war machine in Ukraine"). These are the doppelgangers Naomi Klein warns us against:

The far right has even managed to co-opt anti-corporate rhetoric. Culture warriors rail against "woke capitalism," insisting that when big businesses take socially progressive positions, it's just empty "virtue signalling." And you know what? They've got a point. Partially.
As with all mirror-world politics, the anti-woke-capitalism shuck is designed to convince low-information right-wing pismires into buying "anti-woke pillows" and demanding the right to pay junk fees to "own the libs":

But woke capitalism is bullshit. Corporations – profit-maximizing immortal transhuman colony organisms that view workers and customers as inconvenient gut-flora – do not care about social justice. They don't care about anything, except for minimizing compensation for workers while maximizing the risk those workers bear; and locking in and gouging customers for products that are as low-quality as can be profitably sold.
Take DEI, a favored target of the right. It's undoubtably true that diversity, inclusion and equity initiatives have made some inroads on correcting bias in hiring decisions, with the result that companies get better employees who would have been excluded without this explicit corrective.
However, corporations don't value DEI because they abhor their history of hiring bias. Instead, DEI is how corporate management demonstrates to workers that their grievances are best addressed by trusting corporate leadership to correct their error of their ways – and not by forming a union.
Before the passage of the National Labor Relations Act in 1935, corporations would create fake "Company Unions" whose leadership were beholden to the company executives. These were decoy unions: they looked and sounded like unions, but when they negotiated with management, they were actually working for the bosses, not the workers.
This is more mirror-world tactics. They're the labor equivalent of the "crisis pregnancy centers" that masquerade as abortion clinics in order to fool pregnant people and trap them with endless delays until it's too late to terminate their pregnancies. Company unions get workers to trust in negotiators who are secretly working for the bosses, who emerge from the bargaining table with one-sided, abusive contracts and insist that this is the best deal workers can hope for.
Company unions were outlawed 90 years ago, and for decades, labor had a seat at the table, with wages tracking productivity gains and workers getting protection for discrimination, unsafe labor conditions, and wage-theft. Then came the neoliberal turn, and 40 years of wage stagnation, increased inequality, and corporate rule.
Anything that can't go on forever will eventually stop. Finally, finally, we have reached a turning point in labor, with public approval for unions at levels not seen since the Carter administration and thousands of strikes and protests breaking out across the country:

It's not just the Writers Guild and SAG-AFTRA, either. For the first time in history, the UAW is striking against all the major automakers, and they are winning:

The automakers are getting desperate. Stellantis – Chrysler's latest alias, reflecting the company's absorbtion into corporate-human-centipede of global carmakers – has mobilized its DEI programs, trying to get marginalized people to believe that scabbing is a liberatory activity:

Stellantis calls each of its DEI silos a "Business Resource Group" (BRG): there's a "Working Parents Network," an "African Ancestry Network," "Asians Connected Together," a "DiverseAbilities Network," a "Gay & Lesbian Alliance" and more:

The corporate managers who lead these BRGs have established a scab rotation for each subgroup, calling on members to cross a UAW picket-line at a Michigan Parts Distribution Center run by Stellantis subsidiary Mopar:
Each BRG will pick a specific day of the week/weekend to volunteer as a team. Help continue to be the RESOURCE the BUSINESS can count on! Stellantis needs your help in running the Parts Distribution Centers (PDC) to ensure a steady supply of parts to our customers while negotiations continue. Working Parents Network has identified Friday, October 13 as WPN’s BRG Day at the PDCs!"
Now, these BRGs weren't invented by marginalized workers facing discrimination in the workplace. They come from literal union-busting playbooks produced by giant "union avoidance" firms that charge bosses millions for advice on skirting – or breaking – the law to keep workplace democracy at bay. All the biggest anti-union consultancies love BRGs, from Littler Mendelson to Jackson Lewis. IRI Strategies touts BRGs as a way to "union-proof" a business by absorbing workers' grievances in a decoy committee that will let them feel listened to.
BRGs, in other words, are the Crisis Pregnancy Centers of workplace discrimination. They're a Big Store Con, a company union dressed up as corporate social responsibility.
Now, let's not pretend that unions have a sterling record on race and gender issues. Giant labor organizations like the AFL had to be dragged into racial integration, and trade unions have sometimes been on the wrong side of anti-immigration panics:

But unions have also been the most reliable way for people of color and women to win better workplace treatment. The struggle for racial and gender justice was fought through labor organizing. Black organizers have always been militant labor organizers. Labor Day commemorates the victory of the long, hard-fought Pullman strike, where Black workers brought one of the most powerful companies in America to its knees:

The vanguard of today's labor surge is Black, brown, female and queer. Without a union, workers who face discrimination are on their own, hoping that their bosses will voluntarily do something about it. Black workers in Tesla's rabidly anti-union shops face vicious racism, from slurs to threats to violence. Without a union, they have to rely on the shifting whims of an Apartheid emerald mine space-Karen for relief, or hope for help from the NLRB or a class-action lawyer:

The far right isn't wrong when they holler that woke capitalism is bullshit. As with so many of their mirror-world causes, they've got a point, but only a limited one. The problem with woke capitalism is that it's no substitute for a union. The problem with relying on Business Resource Groups to fight racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia is that these struggles are all class struggles, and a BRG is never going to fight against the company that created it.
To understand how bankrupt woke capitalism is, conside this: Stellantis is calling on its "Working Parents Network" to scab this Friday. Stellantis is also being sanctioned by the Department Of Labor for discriminating against nursing mothers – the same "working parents" that the BRG is meant to protect:

pretty boy shoto todoroki is viewed as unattainable - not just to you, to everyone who ever sees him. his eyes pierce, his skin almost glows, and his demeanour is arguably cold. that's why your admiration of him is purely that. you wouldn't be stupid enough to develop a crush on him, surely.
wrong, actually. he's agile, lithe, and terrifying, but the current obsession of your brain. always hanging around izuku, or studying, or training. you never really had the time to have made any progress on your friendship aside from being picked for group tasks, and even then you had struggled. social situations are never easy, but they're another realm of difficult when it's todoroki you're socialising with. that's why your hands shake as you cut mushrooms, his voice in your ears as he discusses the latest assignment.
"how are you finding it?" shoto asks, voice void of any emotion as he converses with izuku. izuku laughs lightly and shrugs, admitting he's also struggling, his green hair tied back in what could almost be called a manbun, though it's more of a hopeless ponytail.
"mm, i could be doing better!" he laughs, turning to you. "how are you coping?"
you pause for a second to face him, avoiding shoto's gaze at all costs despite the way he's looking at you like you could qualify for the most interesting thing in the world. "i'm almost done, i just have a few things to finish up, and then i've gotta get it under the word count," you grimace. "i have about 2000 words but it's supposed to be 1500,"
shoto quirks an eyebrow at that. "already? have you been working on it since the second it was assigned?" he asks, leaning back in the chair to look at you. you laugh nervously, suddenly finding the meal you're preparing very interesting.
"i mean, yeah? i don't like being.. behind on things i suppose," you mumble, embarrassed at how little sense you're making. but shoto, the beautiful devil, nods like you made the most sense in the world. his face softens and he stands up, making his way over to you and gently taking the knife from your hand.
"go get it, i'll help you cut down on words," he offers, resuming your chopping of vegetables like it was his job in the first place. you shake your head, but you don't dare to take the knife back off him.
"oh it's no worries! the deadline is like, a week away!" you fret, reaching over him to grab the garlic and mincer. "i need to read over it anyway before i even try to reduce words!" you laugh, and izuku grins at you, noticing the pink of your ears.
shoto frowns and gently crowds your space, all to aware of the way you'd move if he got too close - and you do, moving out of his way and letting him have free reign of the kitchen. "i'll read it, and i'll help you cut down on the word count." he argues, looking you dead in the eyes.
any argument you had dies on your tongue, you just nod and head to your dorm to grab your laptop, baffled about the turn of events today is taking. before presenting shoto your laptop, you quickly make sure everything other than the document is closed, not wanting anything that could incriminate you there - such as the messages between you and ochako about how terrifyingly attractive the boy is. with a huff, you make your way back to the kitchen and place the laptop on the desk. "now let me cook," you say, holding out your hand for the knife.
shoto looks at you and smiles, like he's somehow humoured by your boldness, and he is. he didn't expect you, the girl who stares so intensely at him that he learned to tell your gaze from others, to be so bold with him. he hands you the knife, but also takes your hand in his and guides it to the green onion he was chopping for you.
"here, let me show you how to dice it," he hums, starting to manoeuvre you through the motions, before lifting his hand. "your go," he steps back, crossing his arms over his chest. you make the mistake of turning to look back at him, heat dusted over your cheeks and eyes wide, and your mouth goes dry at the way he's watching you
your hands shake a little as you copy his motions, but it must have been good enough for todoroki because he lets out a little pleased hum and heads over to your laptop, sitting in front of it and starting to read. izuku just grins, wandering over to help with the cooking.
you end up engrossed in a conversation about cooking with izuku, both of you working seamlessly along each other to prep your meal. somewhere along the line, you triple the portion size, intending to give both shoto and izuku a bowl in payment for helping you, and izuku notices this when you go back to chop more mushrooms.
"aw, are we having a triple date?" he teases, and you laugh at him, loud and clear, and it draws shoto's attention back to you for a second.
"no! i just thought i'd make you guys some too, since you're both helping me. it's just soba, it won't be anything too spectacular, but I just, i mean, you don't have to have it!" you laugh, gently nudging izuku, and shoto feels his chest tighten at the combination of you cooking his favourite meal, and cooking him a portion too. you look wonderful to him, hair tied back for cooking, sleeves rolled up, and a defensive look on your face as you bicker with izuku. he swallows, forcing himself to get a grip, and turns back to your paper, trying to drown out one of the prettiest sounds he's sure he'll ever hear - your laugh.
by the time you've finished cooking, shoto has finished reading through your paper and he's cutting the words down for you, so he jumps a little when you place down a bowl of soba in front of him with a soft smile. "there you are, i hope you enjoy it," you murmur, sitting down beside him with your own bowl. izuku has took off to his dorm with his, excusing himself to also work on the assignment.
shoto's mouth waters at the smell, and he smiles graciously at you. "it looks wonderful, thank you," he hums, setting your laptop down to eat. you just beam, a sight that makes shoto's stomach flutter, and tuck into your own food. at the first taste, shoto swears he's fallen in love, and his little groan at the taste makes your stomach do somersaults and your brain go fuzzy for a second.
it's at this moment, you both realise you're utterly fucked. something changes in the air, shoulders pressed against each others as you eat in silence, occasionally exchanging comments about the assignment, or the food, or izuku. before long, you're leaning into his side and he's subconsciously raising the temperature of his left side, and your eyelids are drooping as you relax further and further into his embrace. shoto's hand rests politely on your hip, and he's murmuring to you quietly about your paper, but you're honestly not listening.
he notices, because of course he does, and he just laughs. "something on your mind?" he asks, not really expecting a committed response from you, so it shocks him when you nod.
"why are you, someone so.. unattainable, helping me? you're miles smarter than me, stronger, everything. what do you get out of this?" you ask, a hint of insecurity creeping into your voice. shoto is taken aback, looking at you like you've grown a second head.
"i don't help you because i expect something in return. i helped you and you cooked for me. that was more than i ever expected." he murmurs, gently squeezing your side where his hand lies, and you squirm a little, but you laugh. that's good enough for shoto. "and the food was incredible," he admits.
your stomach flips again, and as you look up at him, you find him looking back at you with a sincere expression. it's enough to give your silly heart hope that he could just maybe like you back, if you were to admit you liked him. luckily, it doesn't come to that, because shoto huffs lightly and squeezes your side again, much lighter
"if you want me to ask for something in return, i can," he murmurs, and you nod lightly, not quite trusting your voice at this point. he just nods back, a subtle and gentle movement so as not to ruin the spell you're both under.
"let me kiss you," shoto asks, his brows pinched together a little, like he's terrified you'll say no, which he absolutely is. you inhale, holding the breath while you process what he's just asked. unattainable, untouchable shoto todoroki has just asked your permission for him to kiss you. as though you'd say no, as though this isn't exactly your dream scenario, as though your daydreams haven't been plagued with thoughts of what it would be like to be the one person who has attained shoto todoroki.
you don't quite give him an answer, but you do lean up and press your lips against his. it's tentative to begin with, but shoto kisses you back, and it doesn't take long before he's pulling you closer and kissing you deeper. the spices from the soba dance across your tongues, and you're pushing him lightly against the couch in an attempt to get impossibly closer to him. he's panting into your mouth, the kisses increasing in intensity before you both pull away for air, staring at each other and seeing him in a way you never have before.
he groans lightly, and this time he notices how your ears turn pink and your breathing quickens, and it takes less than a second for him to tug you back in, kissing you like a starved man. you're both lost in your own worlds, hands roaming slightly, his up your shirt and on the small of your back, and yours gripping his bicep. you only pull away when you need to, and shoto just laughs breathlessly.
"if this is what cooking for you gets me, i'll be your live-in chef," you whisper, huffing out a laugh, and shoto just grins, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead.
"you could always just be my partner instead,"

I do take a little bit of pride in, like, feeling that my political ethos is unpalatable to the kinds of people who consider themselves one-standard-deviation-above-the-mean thoughtful about politics. This is something I share with twitter communists, but because of my personality I take it in a different direction.
I'm, you know, like 30% "don't tread on" libertarian—and that part of me gets deeply irritated at the more "thoughtful", "educated" type of libertarian who talks about the efficiency of markets and so on. No! You've got it all wrong! This isn't about optimal distribution of resources or whatever, it really is about muh freedom.
On the other hand I'm like 30% absolute bleeding heart pacifist progressive etc. And this part of me gets deeply irritated simultaneously at all bloodthirsty twitter leftists and the globe emoji neoliberals and whatever. Again: no! You've got it wrong! It's not about all the refined and learnèd shit you say it's about. It really is just about can't we all get along, we're all part of the same human race, universal love and compassion.
And then the other 40% is other stuff. I really am quite a materialist in my typical mode of analysis; I keep coming back to socialism for a reason. And I have some strain of Chestertonian conservatism in me, and some appreciation for high modernist technocracy, and a deep sympathy for the Amazonians and the Sentinelese, and a punk anarchistic "screw the Man, man" tendency too. I don't really think any of these attitudes conflict; they're additive upon one another.
But I really... the things people turn to when they turn away from pure gut intuitions, when they turn away from "muh freedom" and "can't we all just get along", are so often worse. You could have stuck with those intuitions and tried to flesh them out, if you thought they were right-but-incomplete. But this posture of like, I don't know, unjustified refinement, I hate it. I really do get along with the guys who say "the damn GUB'MENT better get off my property" more than 90% of the people who think they're better than those guys. I don't know.

They were a bully weren't they?
A self righteous hero in their narrative. Someone who simply, "says it like it is." But the intentions are your downfall rather than just an act of care or 'tough love' making you second guess yourself constantly. Perhaps a gaslighter or even physically violent/would threaten you as well perhaps.
Some of you may have felt like you'll never be able to progress and move forward in your life and your plans. Some of you feel like a machine sometimes trying to prove your worth but it's never enough.
I keep hearing, "I wanna go. I wanna go. I don't belong here this isn't my place."
For you, rest assured you'll boldly venture into the unknown and succeed.
They however,
Can say goodbye to peace and balance in their life and their health. Constantly struggling internally to the point it starts showing on their face. I think some of these individuals peaked at a certain point of their lives (you know the ones who peak in highschool and think they run the show) I see them reminiscing how they looked like before or the attention they got before. I see them feeling stuck in one place and not being able to make progress. If this is someone who would bully you for your physical looks they'll have a severe glow down. If this is someone who cheated on you then they get a taste of their own medicine but worse. In some cases I'm seeing even more severe loss and maybe even trying to make amends with you because suddenly you're more successful or better off without them. I honestly see a lot of regret on their part but some of them may not have the guts to admit the same.

This may have either been a liar or straight up emotionally abusive and controlling. I do sense some of them have been physically or sexually abusive as well. The image I'm getting is someone treating you like their puppet or thinking they have a right over you.
Some of you may have felt or believed that you can't do better than this neither deserve better than this. They made your question your very worth and reality and you often took pity or emphatized and continued to forgive and go back to them.
I'm also seeing for some, that this could be someone who keeps you around for their convinience like you're their emotional crutch.
For you, there are is a light at the end of the tunnel you've walked out of.
For them,
Literal unseen disruptions that shake the very core of their ego, stability and power. Maybe even their career declining to nothing. Legal troubles as well and finding out that those they have trusted or considered their friends don't really care about them either. For someone so selfish and constantly stuck in their narcissistic victim mindset this would be a heavy blow and all I see them doing is throw a child like tantrum.

I believe you attract jealousy, envy, stalkers and maybe even people who need to match the effort you put for them but find an excuse to slack.
I believe that you are aware of your power, this awareness has come after years of being shunned, talked down on and made fun of.
You may have a list of people adding up (it's giving Kill Bill) who have literally just put you down, taken you for granted, betrayed you and it's all piled up almost because I do see a lot of you are rather forgiving or try to understand the other person.
Oftentimes you can care less because you know if someone does you wrong in any shape or form and it's unwarranted then may God help them.
I don't feel you actively seek vengeance.
You seem like a creative soul, perhaps you channel your pain into art or other things that can benefit you or others. But scars in your heart remain.
For you, I see recognition, fun and good money/stability in life.
For those who have wronged you or wish you harm,
Anxiety, the kind that feels like they are in the middle of a circus show and someone asked them to do the sword swallowing trick at gunpoint. Financial loss, having people backstab them or abandon them.
On a more personal note I see that you get the last laugh in this situation.
Few of you could also be witches? A handful of you I'm seeing. So your words could literally be hexes.

Omg totally! It was super fun to write and I honestly even have OC who also sings in battle! (she's still in progress of making tho...) But anyway, I hope you enjoy this as well <3
Also it was my first time writing Kaveh so I really hope I got his character right...

⊱ Diluc never saw how you do in combat because of his mom protective nature, so he usually told you to either stay indoors or leave the fighting to him
⊱ but it doesn't mean that he don't trusts your abilities, he simply is just worried and would rather to not risk you getting hurt
⊱ but when he happened to pass by while you were fighting, of course he rushed to help you, and that's when he noticed your fighting style
⊱ he was really just captivated in your voice but held back from admiring since helping you out was more important to him
⊱ after they two of you finished, he definitely complimented your singing abilities and suggested you do it outside of the battle as well
"I didn't knew you sing in battle. It's honestly quite interesting... Would you mind singing a little when we're alone? I find your voice really calming, you see."
⊱ if you agree, he'll definitely ask you on many opportunities to sing him calm melody
⊱ he'll also probably ask you to sing for him after exhausting day of his and it always succeeds at making it better one
⊱ if you say that you do it only in battle, he won't press you and accept it as it is
⊱ it's safe to say that Childe saw you fighting with others and with him on many occasions, so of course he saw your fighting style pretty quickly
⊱ when he first saw it, he didn't knew if you were casting some kind of spell on him or... oh you just hit him...
⊱ so it was good distraction for first time but then he was fighting you either way
⊱ if you didn't had any kind of bound tho, then he simply doesn't mind your singing and treats it like a normal battle
⊱ but if you and him to have some kind of relationship then his moves will be a little slower and calmer
⊱ he also won't admit that your singing makes him a little sleepy unless the two of you are close, if you are tho, he'll even ask you to sing for him when it's just the two of you
⊱ if you agree, you can be sure to be spoiled by him, both with compliments and anything else you could think of
⊱ if you won't tho, he will beg you on every possible occasion asking for just one, but if you sing him one song, he'll ask for more
"C'mon! It's just one tiny song! You don't have to worry about your singing abilities since they're already so great after all!"
⊱ Tighnari wasn't eager but eventually he took you to some forest clearings since you really wanted
⊱ and that's basically how he discovered your fighting style
⊱ he honestly was surprised, especially if you sing gentle songs but still made sure to focus on fighting
⊱ after the fight tho, he asks you if it's just to make fighting easier or if you have to fight like that, or if you're just enjoying this way of fighting
⊱ don't get him wrong tho, he's not complaining, he's simply curious
⊱ he won't ask you to sing for him but he certainly wouldn't be against it, he just doesn't want to be rude
⊱ but if you suggest, he'll definitely agree on that with a smile
"You'd like to sing for me only? Of course, I'd be very happy if you do... Just please don't sing anything energetic..."
⊱ and when you make him sleepy with your voice, it's also opportunity for you to pet his ears or tail
⊱ if you won't ever suggest it, I'm afraid he won't ask for that and you won't get a chance to pet him...
⊱ Kaveh isn't really the type to enjoy fighting, so no wonder it took him a while to notice your fighting style
⊱ when he finally does tho, he feels like there aren't any monsters around, you're just so pretty to him
⊱ so when you end fighting, he gives you so many compliments on your singing abilities
⊱ you think he won't ask you to sing? Well you couldn't be any more wrong because he BEGS you to sing for him in private
⊱ and when you agree, he's literally in heaven and you receive more compliments at once than you ever did
⊱ after he hears you sing more often, he'll also suggest you combine dancing with it

Can I please get a blue bracelet with a ribbon (featuring Sunoo)
And the idea I had in mind was a reader who knows very little about K-Pop (limited knowledge from their friends), and they listen to maybe four songs but don't know the bands that much. Anyway, but the reader who doesn't know K-Pop somehow meets Sunoo and has no idea who he is and they manage to know each other more and maybe either progress into a friendship or a romance?
I thought they looked like someone I know
Order: for sunoo: blue bracelet with ribbon(💗)
Design: idol!sunoo x non-idol!reader, gn reader, (ending hints at a reincarnation(?) Depends on how you want to interpret it)
Summary: you meet sunoo in a cafe when he suddenly sits at your table since it was crowded and you both hit it off, not knowing you were talking to a kpop Idol, you both exchange numbers and become friends or more?
Can people calm down?
You think as you watch people push to get their drink. It was a Monday, understandably people needed their drink to get through the day as for most people, mondays were the most exhausting day of the week.
You were deep in your thought, unaware that someone with a cap and black mask was suddenly standing across from you.
"Excuse me, I hope you don't mind but can I sit here?" The stranger asked you, seeing that all the seats were full and you had an empty seat, you allowed him to sit across from you since his hands were full.
"Gosh, people are so pushy, I almost dropped my latte, can you believe that?!" The stranger suddenly bursting with annoyance said to you
. "Yeah..it is a Monday, people are bound to push, and this is a popular place" you replied to the stranger. "That's true but they dont need to push, they're going to get their drink if they dont rush" the stranger huffed.
"Oh! I haven't said you my name yet! I'm kim sunoo!" He took off his cap and he run his hand through his hair, "I'm ___, nice to meet you!" You smile at sunoo. Mean while sunoo was shocked as you weren't fangirling towards him or asking for a picture, "are you alright? You look like you've seen a ghost." After asking him a question, sunoo immediately shook his head. "Ah...no it's nothing, there was someone behind you, and I thought they looked like someone I know" sunoo replied while looking at you with nervous eyes and a sweet smile. After that you and sunoo got to know each other better, in the middle of talking sunoo's phone suddenly ringed.
"oh! Let me answer this quickly ___-ssi" sunoo went out of the cafe to answer his call. After a few minutes, he quickly came back inside "I'm sorry ___-ssi but I have to leave now, it was fun talking to you!" Sunoo hurriedly said to you "it was fun sunoo! If you don't mind, do you want to exchange numbers?" You asked sunoo as he looked at you with a somewhat shocked expression before giving you a smile and agreed.
After your interaction with sunoo, 2 months have passed and the two of you grew closer, and you were still oblivious to the fact that he was a kpop idol.
You were sitting on a bench waiting for sunoo, looking around to see if you spotted him. You and sunoo agreed to hang-out when he was free for the week, he said his work wasn't giving him any free time, when you both started to talk on the phone. Sunoo never mentioned what his job was or what he did for a living, all that you did know was that he loved his job, and from what he's described, it was making other people happy. You dwelled on that thought to keep you occupied while waiting for sunoo in the park. All of the sudden someone called out for you, you looked to your left and saw someone wearing a black outfit with a mask and a bucket hat, you waved back
"sun-?!" You were about to say his name when he quickly covered your mouth.
"shhh '____' don't say my name out in the public!" Sunoo whisper-yelled to you as a few people look at both of you.
"ah...I'm sorry, i forgot you don't want me to say your name in public.." you quickly apologized to sunoo.
"ahh it fine, no worries, that just shocked me since no one should know I'm out here" sunoo smiled under his mask "why wont you say to me what you work?" You asked sunoo "no! You shouldn't know about it, its top secret" sunoo put his finger to his mouth signal to keep quiet as he looked at you with a sassy glare "what are we doing!? Let's go have fun! Isnt that why were outside for an arcade?" Sunoo excitedly asked, you let out a soft giggle.
"alright then, let's see who can get the most tickets by the end." You challenged sunoo as he looked at you with determination in his eyes "oh your on '____'! Do go crying on me now!" Sunoo dashed to the counter to but tickets and headed for the machines.
After going to the arcade, both went to a relatively small cafe. Finally, sunoo took off his mask as you both finished ordering. "this day was fun! Let's hang out again ____!" Sunoo insisted
"yeah! We should, if your schedule isnt too packed with work" you noted back to sunoo, sunoo just smiled at you, just then both of your order was called.
"Oh! I'll go get our order, just gimme a minute." Sunoo walked to the counter and grabbed both of your order.
"Hey ____! Have you heard about enhypen! their songs are so good!" Sunoo asked you to see what your answer was and what you thought about his group.
"huh? Enhypen? Well I dont know much about them but their song is a amazing, my friend keeps ranting to me about sunghoon, I'm slowly going insane everytime she mentions his name" you sigh as you remember your friend talking to you for a whole hour talking about sunghoon and his biceps.
After a while of conversing with each other about anything that came to both of your mind, you looked at the time, "oh! Its already late, aish..how could I get home now, there's no more taxi's this hour..." you grumbled st the fact that you had to walk home, which was a long walk "huh? Y'know you could come with me I could walk you home!" Sunoo suggested
"ah no, it's okay, I wouldn't want to bother you" you denied his request.
Silence filled the air around the two of you as you walked around the park to get to your house. "Hey sunoo..why won't you say to me what your job is?." You questioned sunoo while sunoo was looking st you with dazed eyes.
"You should know about what my job is ____." Sunoo replied looking serious which was an expression he never wore, you immediately dropped the topic. As the cold air hits your face, it makes you shiver next to sunoo, when suddenly a jacket was placed on your shoulder.
"huh?! Sunoo wont you be cold?"
"it's fine, you looked like you were cold" sunoo smiled at you.
"Hey ____, I have something to say...." sunoo whispered. " of course sunoo, what Is it that you want to say?" You said hiding your anxiousness with a smile. "...____, I know we haven't been friend for a long time, but-" sunoo interrupted himself to take a deep sigh, "____, I like- no i love you ever since we first met in that cafe, you caught my eye when i first laid my eyes on you, and even though their were a few empty chairs in that crowded cafe, I sat with you because you looked so pretty, how the sunlight was highlighting your features was so alluring to me, and now that I got to know you, ...i fell inlove with you more, all your small habits that I memorize whenever we hangout, how you pet those cats we meet on the way to the cafe we first met, how your lips turn into a pout when you're concentrating on a claw machine in the arcade we always go to, how you slightly shiver everytime the cold wind blows in winter, how I could go on about how much your small habits and details is unimaginable, ____, you make me act so different, you make my heart beat uncontrollably everytime you wrap your hands around my arm when you were cold, when you put your head on my shoulder when you were tired and we were in this very park. ____ I'm not asking you to like me back but I'm doing this to express my feeling and to no longer push it away, I really hope this doesn't ruin our friendship ____." Sunoo finished his confession and shyly avoided your eyes as you were in complete shock since you didn't think sunoo liked you, you had liked him ever since your first hang out.
"sunoo...I-...I dont really know how to say this like how you did but I love you too sunoo, just like you said, we haven't known each other to long but I love how you make me feel safe in any situation, how you're so attentive even if it means you have to forget yourself sometimes, of course ill reciprocate your feelings sunoo" you hugged sunoo tightly as tears welled up in your eyes, sunoo reciprocated your hug slowly and gently, he strokes your hair with such gentleness your feeling of anxiety washes away as he hugs you to prevent you from getting more cold.
Sunoo just then took off his bucket hat, you were star struck as this was the first time you saw sunoo's full face without his hat. He noticed your gaze "hehe, am I that handsome that you're speechless" sunoo teased you while posing like he was a model. "Yah! That's not true, I just saw someone and I thought they looked like someone I know" you reprimanded, sunoo then looked at you with eyes confused eyes and a small pout on his lips.
"Yah! What you said sounded super familiar!" Sunoo covered his mouth with his hands, looking shocked.
" you mean 'I thought they looked like someone I know' isnt that what you said to me when we first met at the cafe?!" You exclaimed, mimicking sunoo's expression and actions, you clasped you hand over your mouth.
"Oh! You're right, ohhh how can you remember that sentence? That was so long ago" sunoo looked so confused.
"Hehe, how could I not remember, that was the time I knew you loved me"
Extra notes: PHEWW FINALLY FINSIHED, the ending was so hard to do so if its a little wonky, it's because I was running out of ideas😭 but i hope you still like it lost and everyone who reads this!

Given recent discussions in the fandom and because I’m curious to hear others’ opinion… would you want to see a Chenford breakup next season?
All right, let me start with my usual disclaimer : this is only my opinion and it has no more (or less) value than anyone else's. And this isn't meant as a personal attack either, regardless of which side of the equation you're in. I actually enjoyed reading other people's takes on this, particularly the ones who want a breakup, to see their perspective on the subject. It was truly interesting (no sarcasm).
To answer your question, dear Anon, no, I don't want a breakup. Mainly because I feel that so many shows go there, so I'm more interested in seeing Tim and Lucy navigate the ups and downs together.
One thing that attracted me to their relationship was their ability to talk to each other about everything and anything. How, despite their differences and their rocky start, they could always confide in each other… Be extremely vulnerable. And that is what I would love to see going forward. How this shorthand they've developed by working together can translate into their personal relationship.
Don't get me wrong, just because they are usually good at communicating doesn't mean that it is perfect. It's not. Even before they became a couple. There are some cracks that became more and more visible as the season progressed. The theme of 'honesty' was their main thread in 5b. The storylines involving Sava & Jake or Isabel served to highlight that aspect. To emphasise how lies, deceit and miscommunication can destroy a relationship. Now it could be used as a foreshadowing… Or it could be used as a warning. Tim and Lucy already have a much stronger relationship, so I choose to believe that this could be a learning experience for them. Learn from other people's mistakes, learn from your past (in Tim's case).
Right now, those moments of dishonesty revolves around one common theme : work.
Tim taking a desk job without consulting Lucy first… Lucy doing the five-player trade behind his back… Him trying to lie at first that he wasn't bored out of his mind… Her not saying anything about Primm (as far as we know)… Him not wanting to open up about his fears regarding undercover…
Those are starting to pile up and they're going to need to address it. The sooner, the better. Particularly the undercover talk. This has been a long time coming. It's clear that Tim is terrified but doesn't want to burden Lucy with this. And she can sense it. That last scene in 5.21 was (for me) a step in the right direction where they started voicing their concerns. It's nowhere near sufficient. But they stopped avoiding that topic altogether.
Like I said, they can be great at communicating… But they can also be their own worst enemies. They're both selfless when it comes to the other… they're both used to do things a certain way. And now, they need to learn how to do these things together. To talk about these moments that may seem insignificant to them but isn't to the other. To stop making decisions for the other. This is quite new to them : as we've seen in the past, they didn't truly open up to their boyfriends/girlfriends. That's something they are going to have to learn together. And that's okay : this is part of the journey of being in a relationship.
Another reason why I don't want to see that is related to the characters' growth.
The thing is, I actually could picture Tim breaking up with Lucy because there is a pattern here. If he got it into his head that he is holding Lucy back, an idea already planted by Noah in 5.16, then yes, it wouldn't be out of character for him to break up, thinking it's the right thing to do for Lucy. Which is not that dissimilar to what he did in 5.02 : sure, they weren't together, but it still felt like a separation. Especially since the end of that scene mirrored so well another one from 1.12… when he decided to divorce Isabel. And if you remember, that was pretty much for that very same reason : he was afraid that being with him would only remind her of her time as an addict and bring her down. So he did what he thought would help her the most and decided to divorce her. So breaking that pattern would be a tremendous character development for Tim (in my opinion).
Then, there's the fact that this is something they knew would be coming up at some point. This isn't a new obstacle. The episode before they got together had Lucy go undercover. And Tim, even more so than her, knew what he was getting into when he told her that it was worth the risk. He may not have explicitly said it but the implication that she was worth fighting for was right there. So breaking up for something that they could foresee kind of negates those words.
And it would play right into Lucy's insecurities. She was so hesitant because she didn't want to lose what they have. She is finally letting go of the fears that prevented her before from fully committing to a relationship… Her certainty in them is absolutely amazing. So breaking up now would hurt her so much.
(I focused mostly on Tim here because I struggle to see a reason for Lucy to break up. At least, not if this is related to her career, be it undercover work or her promotion).
Now, that's not to say that it can't be executed in a beautiful way. Sometimes breaking up can help strengthen a relationship, as odd as it might seem. Sometimes it gets too much and taking a step back can offer a new perspective and a fresh start on healthier grounds. Just like sticking in a relationship at all costs can be very damaging and toxic. I mean, take a look at Lucy and Tim in their last respective relationships… They stayed well past the expiration date.
But I, personally, would rather see them work this out together. See them 'fight' and argue, like they've done in the past… that very same thing they didn't do with Ashley and Chris. See them all vulnerable with each other, like they've also done in the past. I honestly think the writers could pull off the angst and drama with this storyline, without having to resort to a breakup.
But again, that's only my preference :)

The absolute double standard of saying Damian is more mature and doesn’t need to be change aged up when we have writers have him still treating Anya like if he was an 6 year old with a crush, lashing out at her and sometimes insulting her and treating her even worse, and it is worse because he should know better by then. Not to mention have him be openly ashamed of his feelings for her and have Anya still fall for a immature manchild like this, because it’s okay is not what he really thinks anyway :/
Alright, since I'm receiving a lot of asks on this subject, I want to preface this by saying that I haven't read a lot of Damianya fan fiction. The reason why in my previous asks I always go back to the manga is because I don't have that much experience in Damianya fan fictions and I don't want to seem like I have more knowledge on the subject than I actually do 😅
Also also for how many pet peeves you, me or anyone else might have it's important to remember that authors and artists do this for free and under no obligation, so I try to keep a "if you don't like it, don't read it" kinda vibe, or read it anyway if you want to explore a different interpretation, but keep in mind that it's ok if it doesn't align with what you have in mind. This is to say that I'm trying to answer these by just speculating my personal interpretation of Damian and Anya and their future, not to police anybody.
With that being said, from what I've seen a lot of aged up Damian and Anya are still teens, so I think it's ok if he's still embarrassed of his crush, because teens are awkward, so Damian has the right to be an awkward teen. Even if they're already adults a bit of "I can't believe I fell in love with you" can be funny, it's the classic "you're an idiot" "Yes but I'm YOUR idiot" situation. The same way I said I think Anya would still have a bit of childhood wonder I also think Damian might keep some tsundere-tendencies. I do agree that I'd like to see Damian stop lashing out to Anya and definitely not treating her worse, especially because I think he's already making progress in the manga, apologizing and dropping the act when other people aren't around, he still has work to do, but he's getting better. Tho I also think a bit of playful bickering is funny. It's even a recurring gag in the manga that their bickering is seen as normal, with the other kids, including Becky, Ewen and Emile, leaving them to go to class. Also when Damian thinks he has crossed the line in any way (even when he didn't mean it and it genuinely wasn't his fault, like when Anya told him she got a dog) he immediately apologies and tries to cheer her up. Like the way this kid cannot stand Anya being upset and crying is honestly so cute and funny, one of my favorite things about their dynamic. So in conclusion I think they would still bicker a bit, but never to be hurtful, because Damian can't really stand making her actually upset. But also, if a fic or a comic wants to explore a moment when one of them said something wrong that's also fine, because sometimes people say stuff they don't mean and writing about fictional characters doing the same is ok.
If you think my take is pretty lukewarm is because it is, I really don't want people to feel like they HAVE to write characters a certain way.

⇶ He was groggy for a few seconds, wiping drool off his face and rubbing his eyes
⇶ And when he finally collected himself, he took a glance at you only to find you staring back at him

⇶ Eijiro soon found himself crying into your lap and grasping both of your hands between his rough palms, telling you how happy he is that you're awake and how he was so worried
"Oh my god, Y/n!" Eijiro sobbed. "I- I can't believe it, you're really awake. I was so worried for so long, I was starting to think you'd n– never wake up." He gasped.
"I'm so happy you're here."
⇶ You simply smiled down at him, tearing up, not yet having the energy to speak, but he knew you were just as happy to be back
⇶ Eventually, he did realize that he should probably go and alert a nurse that you're awake
⇶ Once your physical and mental therapy started a few days later, Eijiro didn't stop coming to visit
⇶ Always comes in with a sharp toothed grin, kissing your cheek before sitting down and talking to you
⇶ He talks to you about what's been happening at school, asks how therapy has been going, and even now he reads to you every so often
⇶ And some days, you nap together
⇶ Sometimes he brings you food, usually little treats and candies that he knew you liked
⇶ He'll bring in a 4 pack of cupcakes for the two of you whenever you reach a therapy milestone
⇶ And of course, Eijiro has to pair it with a speech about how proud he is of you, and how much he loves you, and how he's so happy you're up and feeling better

I based the language used in (both) asks on how the author had written on her social medias before during and after her books became available, and her stances to the things she herself believes in. As in, the author herself has called herself a diaspora, she herself calls herself 1st/2nd gen diaspora. From what I remember she was born as diaspora but mentioned that she spent most times in her home country so she herself used the 1st/2nd gen label. The author is an American diaspora though, if that means anything.
All my arguments about her book come from how the author put herself and her writing on a pedestal, mentioning herself how she'd use her status to write, with a standard she herself decided should be the goal. I can definitely understand how some people got the idea that I held "higher expectations of a POC authors writing when it comes to racism" or something because I didn't make it clear where my criticism came from, but no I did not do so because of her background.
It's a case of "I'll criticize people who claim they're a better writer while punching down on everyone else for doing it wrong, and then claiming they'll write a book that's going to tackle the issues of racism/sexism/queerphobia/ableism much better than any other books out there, with an incredibly progressive main character and hold them to the standard they themselves set up but within the book. But then ends up not only failing, but unironically making the lead have an unquestioned racist view. " ... Just read the other follow-up submission, I explained with more detailed what the issue in the writing and framing was.

It was a very "I'm not racist but..." part of the story. Like I said, it could have been a really good exploration that even people who're progressive can still hold prejudicial views and then realizing they hold them, especially with how hard it sticks out amongst the rest of the story. But it just wasn't and it felt like the authors own views were reflected in how she wrote. And with how casually it's just left unquestioned in the book it really leaves a bad taste. I will even admit that at first I was intrigued and thought this was going to be a part of the leads journey. It wasn't.
This was a case of the author basically saying "Everything I believe is reflected in this book" all throughout, and then really messing up distancing the artist from the art by her own design.
On the American accusations: I'm not American and I don't live in America, but I also am a diaspora in the current country I live in. Only thing I would give you is that we don't use "diaspora" but that's more because I don't live in an Anglophone country, and the word used here is a synonym for "foreigner". I thought it was fairly obvious I have ESL syndrome lol. English isn't even my second language more like E3<L
In fact, if you hadn't been raised by this US-centric mentality of "there's whites and then there's POC and these are the only two kinds of categories in the world," you'd know that EVERYBODY hates EVERYBODY.

I know I could probably just drop the name of the author and the books. But honestly I did some contemplation and there are two things that make me not do it. I'm just an anon, I have no reputation or name to keep clean or uphold, and I've been on the internet long enough and experienced enough of the absolute senseless dogpilling creatives get especially these days with how popular review bombings are, direct attacks and other harassment, and the not good environment social media has created for creatives misstepping, which includes twitter/x, tiktok, and youtube. Even if I believe that out of 100 people on here none would go and do that, the 101th person might decide to be an ass about it. The second reason, and the main reason I didn't just mention the book from the start is that the author herself has removed most mentions of her books on all her social media, they're still available but since it seems she's removed herself from her own writing I'll just respect it.
Tbh I gave enough info in my opinion that someone could probably find the books if they made a real attempt. The issue I mentioned has been handled by some of the people who reviewed the book.

Not sharing the name will get people remembering either the last time some sanctimonious author was annoying or the last time some clueless reviewer missed the point, depending on which has annoyed them more recently.

Man, do you guys remember that time that I was like "okay let's say Ironwood was a clearly evil dictator from jump just like anti-rwdes have insisted, what would that mean for the characters of Team RWBYJNOR and what would it mean for the narrative the show presented us with?" And I got sent hate anons from anti-rwdes for like two weeks yelling at me for criticizing the mains for following James Ironwood?
I'm just thinking about that, and thinking about how.... Not actually grounded in any sort of morals a lot of anti-rwde stuff is. Like, I literally was just following their insistence to the logical conclusion - if James Ironwood was clearly always a dictator than Team RWBY who saw all the signs were willingly following a dictator for months and the narrative was not at all interested in presenting them as at fault or in the wrong in any way. But instead of being like "wait a minute yeah, the show I like should've had the mains regret that they were working for a clear dictator" they instead got angry at me for pointing out that their anti-Ironwood logic doesn't make the show or the main characters actually look that good. Because "rwby is anti-dictator" is just something some people say in order to feel good about the show they watch, not because they actually care whether or not RWBY condemns dictators. This is just like "RWBY is anti-racism," because anti-rwdes will talk about how RWBY has Weiss and Yang yell at anti-faunus people as if that makes it automatically super progressive but then when people are like "wish they would've apologized for how they treated Blake - with Yang's laser pointer and Weiss's blatant anti-faunus rants" and they'll get furious that anyone is daring to criticize their Best Girls.
If Ironwood was always a dictator, then the show should've either not had Team RWBYJNOR willingly working with him for months, or they should've addressed the fact that they were willingly working for him for months by having members of Team RWBYJNOR acknowledge that they were completely in the wrong for following him and need to change for the better in the future and be more careful about who they work with and express regret about the damages they caused by helping him in his oppression. And again, I don't believe that Ironwood was a clear villainous dictator prior to shooting Oscar, I think Team RWBY and co had been following a flawed good guy, disagreed with him on a trolley problem, and then randomly the flawed good guy turned into an evil murderous puppy-kicking villain (because of the writers doing a fall to villainy at the speed of light.)
But most of the people who have been yelling at anyone who likes Ironwood for the past several years on the grounds of his supposed blatant villainy and dictatorship aren't actually interested in the show exploring Team RWBYJNOR's responsibility to not follow dictators, they're not even interested in checking Winter for continuing to follow James in season eight while he was freely murdering anybody who stood in his way, because they do not care about the morality involved in the situation actually. They just like to not think critically about the show they consume. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Writing Lesson: Remembering the Past
I moved from the United States of America to Australia and since then I’ve tried to rewatch some cartoons from my childhood, mainly ones from either Cartoon Network or Boomerang and I can't find them. They're not on any streaming services and I can’t buy physical copies because they’re extremely expensive. Sure Tubi might have some old cartoons such as Popeye or the original Superman, but I didn’t grow up with them. I wanted to rewatch cartoons from the 60s-early 2000s, shows such as The Jetsons, Flintstones, Yogi Bear, the original Animaniacs, Dexters Laboratory, you get the picture.
So why am I bringing all of this up when it comes to writing? Well it got me thinking that yes, while these shows were racist, and aged like milk being left out in the sun, I would argue that it’s still important to rewatch them. Not just for nostalgia shake but as a writer it’s a good idea to remember the past so we don’t repeat it.
I know, “if you don’t remember the past you’ll be doomed to repeat it” but the thing about that saying is, it’s not actually wrong, but I think it get’s overused so no one understands why we say it.
Stories change and evolve over time. The stories we read and were told as kids, might not be the same ones we tell our children because it doesn’t work for them and that’s ok. Stories are supposed to evolve over the years because they show that we as humans are evolving as well. However, if we start to no longer show the past what lessons can we learn to improve?
You see history is a funny thing, if we know our history and the lessons it brings we can do stuff to avoid making the same mistakes as the previous generations. However, if the previous generation's mistakes are lost in time, how can we avoid them if we don’t know what those mistakes are to begin with?
That’s what the saying means. Remember the mistakes our parents, grandparents, great grandparents and so on so we don’t make those same mistakes. This is one of the reasons why every couple of generations society seems to go backwards since the mistakes of the past are being forgotten or ignored and we do them again.
Now I’m not one of those people who think we should stay in the past, life was better back in the old days because let’s be honest, it wasn’t. We were just kids and didn’t understand how the world works. I think we should be able to tell new stories while also not wiping the old ones from existence just because the old ones no longer make money. Of course, they aren’t going to make money the people who like old things are old and there'll always be fewer old people compared to younger ones.
All I'm saying is that if we could keep the old stuff available for as long as possible, we should try and do so. Is the past embarrassing and racist? Yes, but so are we. As a society, many stories are being told that I already know aren’t going to age well in the next couple of decades but we shouldn’t forget about them. Keep learning, keep improving, keep being better.
If you want to reread some old books as a bit of a history project I got some for you. "The Giving Tree", "Gone with the Wind", "Lolita" (my god is that a bad story, why was that ever popular?) "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn", "Stranger in a Strange Land". I could go on but those are some classic stories that it would be best not to forget about them. It’s important to understand why they were popular and what newer lessons we can get from them.
I also understand history for most people is kind of a boring subject, and while I don’t have advice on how to make learning fun. Perhaps if you’re a writer, and don’t want to read some old books in the genre you writing in, there might be a Youtube video you could put on or something? I’m not asking anyone to do a ten-page history report, just to try and remember some of the mistakes that were being taught in the old days so we could create new and more progressive ones instead of just repeating the same mistakes and never moving forward.

[Alright, I officially finished A Link to the Past so I can officially have an opinion now. Under the cut because it might get long (not that anyone will probably read this but I need to SHARE).
SO. To start this off, I really cannot grasp how people like what's his nuts from GG can say that this game is better than Ocarina of Time or really any game that follows it. However, this isn't about comparing the two games like a cranky, bitter baby. and all I'll say to such comparisons is they DEFINITELY improved on a lot over the years as any game franchise should. So, yeah, my bias aside, I would never say this game was better than OoT, and I don't think anyone actually being honest about it can either.
That said, the game was okay. I like getting some lore I'm less familiar with for what that's worth. The game was fun at time but, honestly, it overall felt more like a chore than a fun game to play. Starting with the story, which I get wasn't meant to be the focus, it's pretty standard: Ganon is trying to do mayhem and you have to do x, y, and z to stop him. There's really just...no meat to it. There's nothing really that makes me feel connected to the characters or what I'm trying to do as the gameplay feels too far removed from the plot, and there is nothing that you do that feels really impactful. The stakes don't feel like they're there.
I also didn't get how people praise this game and a few others a lot because you can do the dungeons in any order. Like...it wasn't all of them, it seemed to me? Like there were definitely times where I had to do one temple and get the item there before I could do another. There's definitely more freedom in that realm than other games, but I don't see how it makes the game better or worse.
My biggest gripes were with the mechanics/gameplay. I'll just list some of them and try to be brief about describing why they're gripes.
The item mechanics. On it's face, it's not the worst, but in practice it was annoying. Only having access to one item aside, it always felt clunky and obnoxious to set items and use them. I really think they could have optimized this and the menu system better in general to help that.
Maybe this was my dumbass, but the hitboxes felt...off a lot of times. Like I would watch my sword hit something very obviously but it wouldn't actually hit. Like I said, maybe this was user error, but I'm not really sure and it annoyed me.
BALANCING. I don't mind games being difficult or unforgiving. But holy shit there was literally no balancing of health regeneration. And I'll take partial blame on this: I could have done more to get all the bottles so I could carry more potions and maybe a net(?) to catch fairies(?), but holy shit. At least let people regen A LITTLE before reaching a boss fight. Like yeah, most of the boss fights were surprisingly easy, but when you have to run through the WHOLE TEMPLE AGAIN because you lost, it really sucks because, chances are, you're going to lose that health you got from your revival (which isn't much) and be back at square one when you reach the boss again. And that's not discussing how it feels like the enemies do WAY too much damage, which is especially shitty when you reach rooms where you literally cannot avoid taking said damage (I like to think I'm at least decent enough at the game, btw; not the best by any means but decent). I was at least a big cheater and abused the rewind function on the Switch emulator but holy shit. If I played properly, I'm not sure I would have made it to the end.
And my biggest gripe was easily how you could literally finish at least one whole dungeon, get to the boss, and realize you didn't have the weapon you needed to win. That's what happened to me. And don't get me wrong. I don't mind the finding items that will help you outside of dungeons just fine. But what isn't fair is that there is no indication that you needed the ice rod to beat the boss in Turtle Rock dungeon. You don't need it at all to progress through the temple, and there is nothing leading you there. This might be the only time this really happens (or maybe I just got lucky), but it's poor game design, full stop. It's unfair to the player imo to do that. Again. I don't mind that it had to be found outside of the dungeons. But if it is a NECESSARY ITEM there should be some story beat or something that leads you toward said item. I shouldn't be able to run through a whole temple, get to the boss, and realize I'm missing something.
I probably had more specific gripes, but these were the big ones. And I get some of this was probably on me; I'm not saying the game is absolute horse shit and terrible. But it really hasn't aged well. I like a hard game, but in places, this game felt unfair. I'm sure this is an improvement on the previous games (I only vaguely remember trying Zelda 1 and 2 and failing miserably as a kid), but, objectively, I don't see how anyone could say this is the best game in the franchise. To me, it's just dishonest because the following games have improved IMMENSELY on this one.]

Why I will never give up on Canon Buddie..... Listen I am just a little straight girl who grew up on romance novels. You want Eddie with a women. Well, I mean Vanessa was perfect if you were a writer.
One dare I say she was a better version of Anna and 2 with a little manipulation she could be the girl version of Buck. I mean no one ever could, so don't come for me with pitchforks I just meant in general. She was beautiful, fun, a little heartbroken and didn't add stress to Eddie. Telling the story?? So easy it's a tale as old as time. She shares his culture so let's fake date to throw our tias off. Become friends. Maybe meet Chris. Maybe hesitate to do more because she's jaded and worried it won't work out and how will that effect Chris. Like I have seriously read this story a million times yet the writers never pull the trigger.
My second thing. Again I am a moderately attractive straight single girl. It is not that hard for me to find a relationship. I can throw a rock and find companionship you know?? No disservice to us straights it's just facts. So the fact that the writers intentionally get this wrong while being so loud about the couch screams volumes to me. Especially when you couple it with the fact these 2 do not wing man for each other, talk about sex lives and only refer to the significant other to tell them to dump them. That is the loudest part about their living in each other's back pocket BFF forever relationship. I mean Eddie couldn't even process Buck taking care of himself.
In conclusion 911 if you want me to stop shipping them this all on you. I mean I will never stop. But you could at least try!!

Regarding Vanessa, yeah. I have seen plenty of rom coms that start off with the exactly interaction she and Eddie had. He's not ready, she's not ready, they come to the date with the intent to let each other down easy, and when they realize they were never an option for the other person, it intrigues them. It could have easily developed in the direction of "instead of going through this repeatedly, how about we fake date to get our Tias off our cases?" and slowly falling for each other. TBH, I wouldn't have been surprised if that's what 911 would go with, since so many shows would. I'm glad it didn't, that the point really was to help Eddie progress on his romantic journey rather than set him up with yet another LI.
I agree with you! I already thought it was eyebrow raising when 911 let Buddie be single throughout the entirety of s3 and a respectable chunk of 4a. Now in s6, they're both once again very single. And we're talking young, good looking, heroic firefighters. It should not be hard for them to find romance, yet out of almost 5 seasons of them being on the show together, roughly 2.5 they spend with both of them being single men. When they're the only single members of the main cast! That is VERY unusual, it's not the route most TV shows would take with their only single characters, you know? That Buck and Eddie are directly responsible for this state of double singleness a part of the time just makes it all more hilarious. XD
I've said it before, I will always ship Buddie. Which means as long as the show is on air and both of their characters are alive, I will hope for canon Buddie. But even if that doesn't happen, Buddie is canon to me. The show has written and filmed their epic love story, and I can't unsee that no matter what. In my head, it will always be just a matter of time before these two morons figure it out.
