Titans Academy

Summary: Grant struggles to accept his new reality when Roy takes him in and enrolls him in Titans Academy. He must adjust to life at a boarding school and life with his new foster family (Roy and Lian). Can he learn to trust the people who claim to care about him? Or will he shut himself off from love altogether?

Chapter One: Gravedigger 101

I thought that when this Roy guy kept me from going to jail, I'd get to be some kind of undercover criminal informant or something. I didn't really understand what they said in court. It sounded like he wanted to use me to get information on the illegal operation that resulted in my adoption by my now-deceased parents. I thought it'd be cool, and besides, it was between going with him or going straight to prison. I was just a kid. I wouldn't have made it long in an adult prison. There was no use in pretending to be tough. I was terrified, and I let the courts know it. The guy knew it too. He said something to the judge on my behalf, and the judge folded like a two-dollar bill. I knew the guy had to have some kind of pull. He showed up to the court late, walked in, whispered to the judge, and that was it.

I won't lie. I was kind of scared of the guy at first. The judge remanded me into the custody of Roy Harper in the state of New York. What I didn't know was that that guy was Roy Harper. "Come on, kid. Wanna go get your stuff?" he asked.

"I can't. My house is an active crime scene," I replied.

"Sorry... We'll get you some stuff in between here and New York. Hungry?" he questioned. He walked fast, so I rushed behind him once they released me. At his pace, he got from the courthouse to the parking garage in less than five minutes. He unlocked the car, and I got in the passenger's seat. "You hungry?" he asked a second time. I nodded.

We didn't say much else until he started driving. "What's good here?" he asked before screwing up his face. "I didn't say who I was, huh?"

I shook my head. "You're supposed to drop me off with that Roy Harper guy, right?" I asked.

"I am that Roy Harper guy. Sorry, my mind was on a hundred other things. I promise I wasn't trying to play some weird mind game by not introducing myself," Roy replied. I nodded. "What do you wanna eat? And if you say Burger Queen or Wackdonals, I'm legally obligated to pretend I didn't hear you."

"There's a BBQ place down the street from here," I mumbled. He grinned.

"BBQ's good. I can do BBQ," Roy replied. I gave him the name of the restaurant and directions. We got there in less than fifteen minutes, and we went in and ordered our food. I didn't feel much like eating before going to court, so I was starving.

We got drinks while we waited for the food, and Roy tapped his knuckles on the table. "I'm sorry about all this, Grant... I'm sure you're a good kid and—."

"What's New York like?" I asked. I didn't want to talk about the case or anything like that. I just wanted to pretend that things were normal.

"You won't see much of it for a little bit, but we're going to Manhattan... You don't happen to have a valid driver's license, do you?" Roy asked. I shook my head.

"Learner's permit," I replied.

"Good enough. It's a fourteen-hour drive, so we'll get there in maybe sixteen-seventeen-ish hours," Roy replied, "But I figure we'll split this into two days and get a little sightseeing in."

"If you're from New York, what are you doing in Atlanta?" I asked. I wanted to ask a bunch of other questions, but that's the one that came out.

"I heard about your situation on the news, and I figured you didn't deserve to be tried as an adult," Roy replied.

"So, am I gonna live with you?" I asked.

Roy nodded. "Yeah, it's hard to explain the living situation, but it'll make sense when we get there."

That made me nervous, but before I could ask anything else, the waitress brought our food to the table. I guess he was just as hungry as I was because neither of us said a word until we finished eating. "Good call, Grant," Roy chuckled as he leaned back in his chair.

I took another sip of my coke, and Roy told me to stay put. He left me at the table for a few minutes by myself, and he came back with two pies and another soda. "Sorry, I figured pie would make a nice snack for the ride," Roy replied, "Ready to go?"

I nodded and followed him to the car. I stared out the window while we drove, and Roy turned the radio on. "If this isn't your flavor, you can change the station," Roy whispered.

"It's cool," I whispered. Roy threw his tie in the backseat and got on the freeway. "Do you do this a lot?"

"Take road trips to keep minors out of jail? Or take custody of kids you've never met? Or maybe—."

"All of it... But mostly, do you have a lot of kids?" I asked.

"Yes and no. It'll make sense when we get there," Roy answered. I nodded, but I didn't understand. "And nope, not really. You're a little bit of a unique case. But that's good. Unique cases are good."

"Did your job make you come out here?" I asked.

"Nope. This is on my time, but I made a deal with the school beforehand about your living situation, and they've got no problem with enrolling," Roy explained.

All I got from that was he worked at a school and heard about me on the news. I kind of wish I didn't ask him anything at all. I closed my eyes and listened to the radio. Eventually, I felt okay enough to sleep. It helped that I finally had food on my stomach. I woke up when we stopped at a clothing store in the middle of nowhere, and he dragged me in there, half asleep. He said I had to buy some clothes. Underwear, t-shirts, jeans... That kind of stuff.

I dragged my feet around the store, still half-asleep, but I managed to do what he asked. He paid for everything, and we walked back to the car. The sun looked like it was about to set, so he checked us into a hotel. It was a room with two beds, and I tossed and turned half the night. He settled in quickly and fell asleep almost immediately. "Roy?" I whispered. I wanted to make sure he was asleep.

"Hm?" Roy mumbled.

"Thanks," I replied. I didn't know what else to say.

"Mhm, no problem," Roy mumbled, "Go to bed, Grant."

I think I fell asleep around two in the morning, and Roy slept the whole night. I slept so heavily that I nearly fell asleep in the shower. He was patient through it all, though. We got breakfast in a drive-thru, and I struggled to stay awake. "We'll get coffee in an hour," Roy replied. I nodded.

My head ached too badly to do anything else. "I didn't forget I planned to switch off, but you look half dead, so I'll give you a break," Roy teased. I wasn't in the mood. I turned toward the window and shut my eyes. He nudged me when we got to Sundollar, and I mumbled my order. He chuckled, and when we got to the window, he woke me up so I could drink my coffee. "Not a morning person?"

"Not a travel person," I replied.

"Well, we'll be halfway there in four hours. Think you can bear with me until we get there?" Roy asked. I nodded. The drink perked me up a little bit. "When I was a kid, it was tough adjusting to new places, but as long as you're under my care, I'll try to keep you in the same place... Okay?"

I looked over at him, and he had this sad look. I couldn't look at him like that, so I turned my head. "Thanks," I replied. Maybe he did care. I guess... Dunno. It all seemed so unreal to me. A complete stranger caring about some teenager he just met? Get real.

for the WIP ask meme, DONNA AND TIM SPACE-TIEM ROAD TRIP FIC BECAUSE I AM INTRIGUED

Donna Troy. Tim Drake. And the identity crisis-solving road trip through space-time to help out the Darkstars.

So I described this idea to a friend as the “If Dick and Jon can hang out together, and Jason and Kory can be on a team together, Tim (noted ‘big sister figure’ collector) should get to steal Donna for a bit” fic, and I still stand by that description.

Tim and Donna, to my knowledge, haven't had a solid conversation since Donna died in Graduation Day, and I think that's unfair since Tim has desperately needed to have at least one conversation about his decade-long identity crisis with her specifically as someone who's cycled through multiple lives and 5+ codenames as well as going through a very famous and very public identity crisis herself.

So the basic premise is that Donna, who doesn't quite know what to do with herself now that Diana has Cassie and Yara around, gets paged by the Darkstars to come help them with something that she needs a Bat's help for. However, Dick is unavailable and Donna would literally die again before asking Bruce Wayne for anything. So...Dick and Cassie collectively volunteer Tim, who shrugs and agrees because he has nothing else better to do with his life.

So Donna and Tim get plunged on a road trip through space-time and spend quite a lot of time Talking Things Out, including Tim's guilt over the role he played in Donna's death, love and loss (Donna=Terry and Robert+Roy, Tim=his parents+Steph+Conner), siblings (they have Dick and Cassie in common! They should get to talk about them!), and, most importantly, identity and breaking out of their mentors’ shadows. Any actual plot is secondary and mostly in service to ensuring that The Talking happens, but I am attempting to make it an engaging fic in that respect as well.

tldr: It's a #PairTheSpares fic, but make it sibling/mentor based.

A/N: I always wanted to do some of these, this is sort of the 1.5 chapter from my fic, Electra Heart. You can still read without it but the idea is that your a 'secret' popstar to your now partner Johnny. This is you out of costume and set post game epilogue.

Kenshi: Originally I figured I could steal while he slept.

You: How did that work out for you?

Kenshi: He's surprisingly very aware even when asleep.

You: Man, I hate fighting you.

Liu Kang: Why's that?

You: Feel like I'm fighting my mum. It's weird that you're the creator of all things.

Liu Kang: Is there any way I could convince you to bring your all against Johnny? You holding back is only limiting both your skills.

You: Sorry Liu Kang that's not happening any time soon.

You: I kinda miss the academy. It was so peaceful.

Liu Kang: You’re welcome back anytime.

You: Think my manager would kill me.

You: If we’re just split in a timeline does that mean we're less than people? Am I just a carbon copy of the original?

Liu Kang: No. Multiple versions of you there may be but all have equal value and all are worthy of life.

You: How come you didn't contact Titan me? Surely I would help no?

Liu Kang: I summoned you as a request for help but you did not respond.

Mileena

You: So how come you’re so…you… now but when we were in the lab you weren't?

Mileena: The bloodlust overcame me. I am in control now.

-

You: What you have done for those with tarkat is incredibly honourable- no- kind. Not everyone would offer such support. I know you don't do it for praise but I can't help but respect you so much for it.

Mileena: People with tarkat are people too and deserve to be treated with respect.

You: Not to sound like Johnny but you really are stunning Mileena. Nothing like a beautiful, smart and empathic leader.

Mileena: Not many would genuinly say that while I look like this. Thank you.

Mileena: I'm surprised you’re not Earth's champion, you fight well.

You: I'm already famous in Earthrealm, I don't want to be famous in Outworld as well.

You: I'm sorry for your mother's loss, I didn't know her for long but I could tell she was an outstanding woman and a great mother. Evidence is you and Kitana.

Mileena: She had her flaws and I intend to improve on what she started.

Scorpion

You: Do you mind not using the uh rope thingy against me? I'd prefer not to have rope burns.

Scorpion: I never leave permanent marks from sparring but so be it, I can beat you without it.

You: ...Yay.

You: Was Bi-Han always like this?

Scorpion: He was competitive and ambitious but I could never fathom him betraying us.

-

Scorpion: You are surprisingly like Johnny, originally you hid your playful manner well.

You: Uh yeah we were in a professional setting, we aren't now.

You: Soooo how's the Shirai Ryu?

Scorpion: Growing stronger every day. Tomas was right to initiate Hanzo.

-

You: Got to say, not a lot of people rock yellow well so kudos to you.

Scorpion: Focus.

Sub-Zero

You: You know if you really wanted to show your power and defend Earthrealm you could start by refreezing the ice caps.

Sub-zero: Your mockery ends when I tear your tongue from your throat.

You: So violent.

You: I have to admit if you weren’t so…you…then you would be a good-looking dude.

Sub-zero: My appearance matters not, you will be dead before you lay eyes on me.

-

You: You’re one ice cold hearted bastard you know that? I do not envy your lonely life.

Sub-zero: You won’t have a life to envy.

-

You: Does it hurt? Knowing that Tomas is a more honourable man, more of a brother than you could ever dream to be?

Sub-zero: That matters not when you have this power.

-

You: Hey, it's the spineless prick.

Sub-zero: It will be you without a spine.

-

Shang Tsung

You: Ugh, it must be exhausting scheming up so many plans. I barely know what I want myself to do let alone other people.

Shang Tsung: Well, some people were made to lead others to follow. It seems you are a latter sheep.

-

You: I'm not going to bother and try to get you to see empathy it's a waste of time for a man without emotions.

Shang Tsung: I assure you I have emotions, one with be glee when I win this fight.

-

You: Yellow so isn't your colour.

Shang Tsung: You can lie to yourself but don't lie to me.

-

Shang Tsung: Nightingale, I would say it's a pleasure but I think we’re past that.

You: Ah fuck, Outworld knowing my stage name is the last thing I need right now.

Shang Tsung: Not Outworld, just me. I do my research and you're an interesting woman to learn about.

You: Again with the smug-looking smirk? Maybe you should contract tarkat, perhaps your smile then would be pretty.

Shang Tsung: You think I would be so reckless to contract tarkat? Perhaps you’re less intelligent than I gave you credit for.

Nitara

You: This victim complex you lot wear is kinda pathetic honestly.

Nitara: Perhaps you would understand did your race was starving.

You: It's called sustainability, perhaps you should look it up.

You: Maybe you should evolve to feed on each other. Feel like this would be a win-win for everyone.

Nitara: We won't need to when I take you.

You: Honestly killing when you feed? Rookie mistake should have caught and released.

Nitara: Easier said in retrospect.

You: I read up on Vaeternus's history. You did this to yourselves, if a race can't survive without damning another then they shouldn't exist.

Nitara: I will feed Vaeternus no matter the cost.

You: Bleh bleh I vant to suck your dick- hahaha. Sorry, I can't take you lot seriously. Like seriously vampires?

Nitara: You mock us but you underestimate our power.

Ashrah

You: How are you finding Earthrelm?

Ashrah: It's more incredible than I ever could have dreamed of.

You: If you ever find yourself in LA. Come visit, my home’s always open to you and your sister.

You: I'm not one for serious talk but you chose to follow a better path when you saw a possibility. You turned your back on everything I know which is more than I can say about many humans. You the furthest thing from a demon that I've met.

Ashrah: I would say you're flattering me but I can see it in your eyes you mean it.

Ashrah: Earthrelm is so bright. So full of life, I'm proud to call it my home.

You: And we're proud to call you one of our defenders.

You: When you have time free I'd love to show you all that Earthrelm has to offer.

Ashrah: I'd love my sister to experience that as well.

You: Only if you’re cool if Johnny tags along. He'll definitely want to when he catches wind of our plans.

Ashrah: I can agree to that.

Ashrah: It's strange. Ever since Johnny released his ‘film’ people have been approaching me on the odd occasion about a ‘cosplay'.

You: Yeah, you might have to change up your look if it gets annoying.

Ashrah: I don't mind it, it's nice to have such happiness and excitement from strangers.

hello, I was curious about something and wanted to test it out. I would call this a light read and maybe a bit crack-ish? I’m not sure, but I had fun making this. I hope you enjoy it! (I want to say, english is hard, but writing is harder...)

You have trained alongside Raiden, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage and Kenshi Takahashi, as Lord Liu Kang’s chosen champions.

After the battle with Titan Shang Tsung, all of you separated, walking on different paths.

Then Lord Liu Kang summoned you and the others to Wu Shi Academy for a mission. There, you were given the choice to choose your team members.

After Graduation

Just a lil arven x fem!reader insert fic of them confessing their feelings for one another after leaving the academy. Nothing crazy. uwu

"Hey..."

"Hey! Where are you? I've been searching all over. Did you leave already?"

"Uh. Yeah." You hear him swallow. "I did. There were just a lot of people, and..."

"Arven! C'mon! We only graduate once!" Your tone isn't really chastising, barely a mockery of teasing. "My mom wanted to get pictures of us in our cap and gowns."

"Oh! Uh, well, I-... I hadn't thought about that."

With your meteoric rise at the academy, plus Arven needing to take a bit of extra time to process everything that had happened in the aftermath of the professor's actions, it wasn't exactly surprising that the two of you were graduating together, but it definitely made you happy to be able to sit on the stage together. They don't really prepare you for how boring an actual commencement ceremony is, but it helped to have your best friend sitting by your side.

Nenoma had, of course, graduated early, and Penny chose to skip out of the ceremony entirely, choosing to get started on work with Geeta at the League at the earliest opportunity. In hindsight, maybe she had the right idea, since the ceremony itself was such a bore.

Still, you were glad to have had Arven there.

"Well, where are you now? Just come get some pictures with us. Then we can go somewhere quiet and away from all the crowds."

"Oh. Well, uh... I'm already kinda...waiting for you away from all that. I was hoping you'd meet me here when you were done?"

"Oh. Uh." Your tummy flutters just a bit. "Sure? Let me just tell Mom. Can you drop me a pin? I'll be right over."

"Can do, little buddy." You think you hear a smile on his lips before the click of the call ending.

After a rushed goodbye to your mom with promises to be back to take pictures later, you hop on your dragon, your graduation cap tucked safely into your bag, and set your course for...what looks like the middle of the lake? If memory serves, that's where you fought the last titan to save Mabosstiff.

It takes very little time to get there on the back of such a fast pokemon, and judging by what seems to be a lamp's glow, it looks like Arven has set up camp for himself in the very same cave you'd found yourselves in not terribly long ago.

You dismount your pokemon and return him to his ball before dusting off your graduation gown.

"Arven?" You call, venturing into the mouth of the cave.

"Over here!" He replies, drawing you to him with the sound of his voice and a wave. His graduation gown is already undone, revealing a tidy dress shirt and vest beneath. You also see Mabosstiff at his side give a great big boof in greeting.

In no time you've made it over to him and are wrapped up in a massive ursaring hug.

"Hey, little buddy," He says warmly, his soft hair brushing against your cheek. He smells like firewood and baking bread, and you have to take a moment to prevent yourself from getting lost in him.

"Hi! I'm sad you didn't stick around! What do you have going on here though?" You disengage from the hug and prop your fists up on your waist with a nod to the set table decked out with all sorts of tapas as well as some beautifully made sandwiches.

Arven chuckles a bit and runs a hand through his hair, pushing a tuft from his eye before it falls back. "I, uh... Well, we wanted to thank you. For getting us this far." At his side, Mabosstiff barks. You can tell now he's wearing a sweet little bow tie.

"He wouldn't... I don't know if I... I mean. I would. I just... Well, if you hadn't helped us back then...? Ugh, I'm just trying to say that we-- I'm. I'm really grateful to have you. You're really special." He sounds more flustered than choked up, but the emotion is definitely there.

"Hey," you reply, placing a hand on his upper arm. It's warm even through all the fabric. "Thanks. You're really special, too. You know that?" The words feel so cheesy coming out of your mouth, but they're in the open air before you can stop them. At the very least, the dim lighting of the cave means he shouldn't notice your face heating up.

"A-anyway," He chokes, "I just... I wanted to make you something special...and take you back to where it all really...ya know...came together. F...for us."

For us? Did he mean you and him? Or him and Mabosstiff? This was the place where the poor pokemon finally seemed to fully snap back to reality, but it was also where the two of you really started to click well... Nah, it had to be him and Mabosstiff. Those two were thick as thieves... And just...

"Oh, yes! Look at him! And his tie!" You lean down to hug the dog and give him some good rubs. "I'm happy every day that we got you all sorted, buddy boy!"

Arven stays quiet, and when you look back up at him through your eyelashes, he's breathtaking in his soft sweetness and in the way he's looking so gently at you and his partner pokemon. It almost makes you want to curl up and hide.

Before you can react, he kneels down to get on yours and Mabosstiff's level. "I think we both thank our lucky stars every day to have met you, ya know?" He very deliberately makes sure to look at you when he says it, but as soon as the words are out in the open he bites his lip and looks away. One of his hands is clinging to the dog's fur, running purposefully and slowly through the thick strands.

"I-..." You choke a bit.

"You're... You're important to us. To me." The hand on Mabosstiff deliberately finds yours and entwines your fingers.

"Me too..." You find yourself saying, squeezing his fingers in return. God, you hope your mouth isn't gaping open like a Magikarp as you look at him. He's just...so pretty... And you like him so much, it hurts. God, you like him so much. And oh my God he's looking at you?

"I've liked you for so long." Arven finally admits. "I can't pin down an exact moment, but our time in this cave was as good a moment as any. You... You helped make me a whole man again. You--"

You move before you can even think of it, tackling Arven to the mossy floor of the cave, pressing your mouth to his in an elated kiss.

"I like you too!" You reply softly but excitedly as you pull away just a bit, maintaining your straddle overtop of him. "I don't know exactly when it started either, but... But I have! For a while now!" You kiss him again, this time he eagerly meets you in it, one hand threading through your hair while the other rests gently at your waist.

"I'm...I'm so glad," he mumbles into your lips between kisses.

You take the opportunity to dust his cheeks with soft smooches as his hands nervously flit about your form, never straying terribly far from your waist. You absolutely don't mind. It's nice just feeling his warmth, experiencing this newness that you purposefully didn't allow yourself to agonize over imagining for ages.

Eventually you come to a resting place with your cheek on his chest, his hands at the small of your back. The silence is comfortable.

"I...I feel like 'little buddy' doesn't quite work as a nickname for you now?" Arven finally says, making you snort. "I-I mean...if we wanted to, uh...make this official?"

"Yeah, no, I guess it wouldn't work as a nickname." You nuzzle into his chest. "Any other ideas? Cute names for a girlfriend?" You tease.

"Hm..." A hand of his drifts to scratch lovingly at the back of your neck, making you groan happily. "Little lady?"

"Hmm... Maybe? That's not bad."

"We'll workshop it?"

"We'll workshop it " You agree.

Terrible Fic Idea #86: Percy Jackson, but make it Time Travel

I was minding my own business at work this morning when a terrible, awful, wonderful idea for a PJO time travel fix-it hit me out of the blue.

Or: What if a deified Percy was sent back to the start of canon?

Just imagine it:

Percy wakes screaming, which is immediately disconcerting as he's not slept in nearly 100 years. He summons a storm practically out of reflex, still caught up in the horrors of everything he just left behind, and promptly passes out, his 12 year old body not used to the strain.

-because he is twelve again - mortal again, - in his bed at Yancy Academy again, a week out from the field trip that will change his life.

Not that Percy realizes this straight off, what with the panic and the passing out, though he does pick it up fairly quickly once he wakes up again in the school infirmary. This nearly sends him into another tailspin of panic - (he is small, he is weak, he is alone in his head, one hundred years in the past, and can barely feel any of his domains) - before Percy manages to get himself under control enough to come up with the basics of a plan: get somewhere safe so he can start figuring out what the Hades is going on.

Percy manages to sneak out of the infirmary while everyone else is at dinner, hails the Chariot of Damnation even though he's way out of their normal service area ("We'll put it on your tab, dearie," the seeresses say, "we know you're good for it."), and arrives at Camp Half-Blood just after midnight.

His entrance is much less spectacular than it was originally, but no less startling for all Mr D is the only one awake to see it, for the moment Percy crosses the ward lines the magic begins to recognize him as the future Camp Director - which in turn startles Dionysus just enough that he doesn't immediately smite Percy when he practically throws himself at the god and starts going on about how pleased he is to see him.

The truth comes out in fits and starts, with Percy's exhaustion (and Dionysus' gifts) being the only thing keeping him from another panic attack. His story boils down to this:

Percy has always been a powerful demigod, perhaps the most powerful child of his father ever to be born to a mortal. His actions from his first quest onward only pushed him closer to the brink of immortality. Divinity did not come until several months after the events of ToA, when a camper had jokingly raised a glass to Perseus Jackson, Trainer of Heroes, which was all that was needed to push him over that final precipice.

As Lord Perseus, he was from the onset more powerful than most minor gods, his domains being the eclectic mix of Heroes, Natural Disasters, and Misery - the first earning him the permanent position of Director of Camp Half-Blood and Patron of Camp Jupiter, the second keeping him quite busy in an era of climate change, and the last having been unwittingly stolen years before from Akhlys in Tartarus. It is this power that causes Zeus to become even more paranoid.

-which is saying something, as his paranoia had already skyrocketed to new and greater heights after Apollo returned improved from the events of ToA.

It grows worse over the better part of the next century, with the Titan War, Giant War, Triumvirate, and all that follows eventually disabusing the majority of the gods that Zeus will never be an effective ruler. Apollo leads a rebellion against his father - and would have succeeded, had not Zeus not managed to somehow push Apollo directly into Chaos as Apollo was preparing for his final blow, which has the unfortunate effect of the universe trying to unwrite one of the most important gods from the history of Western Civilization and undoes the fabric of reality in the process. Percy was watching it unravel before his eyes (desperately, desperately trying to weave it back together but it won't hold) when he suddenly found himself screaming 100 years in the past.

It is a fantastical story, but Dionysus has no choice to believe it.

("But why did you come to me? Why not your father?" Percy looks down, running a finger along the grain of of the wooden table, "We became friends in the future. Misery and alcohol, you know? One of the oldest pairings in the book." There's more, Dionysus can tell, but the boy is already flagging, unused to the weaknesses of his childish mortal body. It can wait.)

The events of canon proceed apace - or at least as much as they can when Percy shows up at camp almost two months early knowing more about the Greek and Roman pantheon than anyone who hasn't lived through it, with the attitude of a hero who's been through Tartarus and the power levels of a minor god burning him up from the inside. All while sneaking off in his spare time to 1) plot to stop the end of the world with Dionysus and 2) hang out with Dionysus, because he is one hundred twelve, thank you very much, and needs adult company every now and then, for all he’s missed his long dead friends.

I actually have no idea how the events of the books themselves would play out - Percy has neither the patience or the ability to let everything play out exactly as before, but the major beats of PJO still take place, with Percy doing his best to undermine the arguments that drew so many to Kronos as he can while still mortal. (Advocating for cabins for minor gods and/or undetermined, or combined housing with temples. Gods being forced to claim their children when they arrive at camp, etc.)

Perhaps Kronos tries harder to sway Percy to his side once he sees how strong a demigod he is, showing his hand too soon and causing the Titan War to be an all out war from the start of TTC until the Battle of Manhattan? Percy is more than just a child solider - he is a seasoned teenage general, directing battles, saving many with is experience but still loosing too many; a one-man army who eventually ascends on his sixteenth birthday, Luke's misery as he kills himself being the last push Percy needs to reclaim his divinity and his domains.

Gaining his godhood early allows Percy to temper the events of HOO and TOA (the Giant War still happens, but a generation later with a different set of demigods, and allows Zeus to redeem himself somewhat by being an effective war leader; Apollo never becomes mortal but the Triumvirate is destroyed a generation after that), if not prevent them. Though a part of him will always long for his mortality, it was never in the cards. It was either godhood or an early death, and Percy would rather spend an eternity protecting demigods and giving them the training they need to protect themselves than the alternative.

And so that's what Percy Jackson does, because that's what he's always done: accept as much misery for himself to make the lives of those he loves as misery-free as possible.

Bonuses include:

No hint of Percy/Annabeth in the new timeline, with the pair in the original having broken up shortly before Percy's ascension, having realize their codependency was not healthy, nor was it actually romantic love. From 100 years on, Percy is critical of his first relationship, but still counts Annabeth as one of his best friends, even if they're not as close in this timeline.

Although never widely disseminated, several individuals come to learn of Percy's trip through time and the circumstances that lead to it. (Poseidon, Sally, Thalia). A few others suspect Percy has some level of prophetic gift to go along with his other powers. But for the most part no one has any idea Percy is anything other than a powerful demigod with some really bad luck; and

It eventually coming out that Percy and Dionysus had a thing in the future, with Percy over the course of 100 years coming to like, respect, and eventually love the God of Wine. Percy is absolutely convinced it was entirely one-sided, their thing only adding up to a few drunken fucks between friends (because that's what Dionysus does with his friends), but Dionysus after he learns of it not being so sure (because it's really not what he does with friends and hasn't been for millennia). Whatever the case, it is exceptionally awkward when it comes out, especially as Percy's only physically 14 at the time, and attempting to resolve this awkwardness is how Thalia ends up learning about the time travel.

Extra bonus points if Percy and Ariadne were decent friends in the original timeline, become decent friends again in the new one, and settle into a polyamorous relationship with Dionysus (after Percy is deified and comes of age) that has Hera spitting teeth for decades.

And that is far, far more than I'd ever thought I'd have, but I think this plot bun somehow merged with a thread of an idea for a Dionysus-positive fic that's been tickling at me for years now. As always, feel free to adopt, just link back if you do anything with it.

Titans Academy

Summary: Grant struggles to accept his new reality when Roy takes him in and enrolls him in Titans Academy. He must adjust to life at a boarding school and life with his new foster family (Roy and Lian). Can he learn to trust the people who claim to care about him? Or will he shut himself off from love altogether?

Chapter Four: Group Therapy I

It felt like the day went on forever, but I still had to go to group therapy. Roy practically escorted me there. I didn't know any of the kids in my group from my other classes. They went around introducing themselves and saying what grades they were in. When they got to me, I introduced myself, but I forgot to say what grade I was in. "Hey, pay attention, Daddy's boy. You forgot to say what grade you were in," the first boy teased. I hated being talked to like that. "Cody—." "Fuck you," I replied. Cody grinned. "Hey, can we bring it back?" one of the other kids suggested. "It's nice to meet you, Grant... Try not to worry too much about what Cody has going on." "Roy's not my dad... I don't know my dad. And I'm a junior," I replied. "Cool-. I mean, the junior part. Not the part about your dad," she whispered. Once the group got back on track, the guy moderating started talking about family and conflict. "My mom was cool about everything, but she worried. I gave her a lot of reasons to worry, I guess. She didn't even tell me I was going here," Cody replied, "She just dropped me off... But I guess it was good that she did." "Sounds like she was trying to avoid conflict for herself, not for you," one of the girls mentioned. Cody softened, and he shook his head. "My mom's doing her best. What's bashing her gonna do?" Cody asked. He didn't seem argumentative or cocky anymore. That all faded away with a bit of criticism of his mom. I felt a little bit sorry for the guy. "At least she did something," I replied, "My—. I guess she's not even my mom... She never tried to help. She stood back, and she'd clean everything up after the fact. All she did was try to make me forget, but it wasn't to protect me. Do you know how bad that feels?" I realized I was talking about myself, and I sank down in my seat. Cody mouthed, "Thank you." I nodded in reply, but I felt weird sharing anything about my parents in front of strangers. Another kid jumped in and started talking about how his dad turned everything into an argument, and a few other kids shared. The guy moderating explained that there's a balance to conflict. Too little battle could prove to be as detrimental as too much. "A fear of disputes can look like complacency or a lack of consideration... While too much can make you feel like your guardians are nitpicking or that they simply don't appreciate you at all," the man whispered. We closed out, and Roy met me outside. He had tears in his eyes. "You okay?" I asked. Roy nodded. "It was a brutal end to the day, but I'll make it. Group's never easy," Roy replied, "How was your first day?" "I thought I was gonna hate it at first... But it wasn't that bad—." "Thanks for today, new kid," Cody whispered. Roy glanced at me and smiled. "Cody's thanking someone?" Roy questioned. He seemed impressed. "You're free to go for the next forty-five minutes, but I want you home by nine." I nodded, and Roy left me to wander the campus. Bart ran into me and offered for me to come back to his room to read comics. I took him up on his offer, but we mostly hung out. Bart talked the whole time, but I didn't hate it. At least he seemed happy. "Hey, Bart... Who's this?" I asked as I touched one of the pictures hanging on his wall. "That's my dad. He died when I was a baby," Bart replied, "And the other pictures are of my grandpa and grandma, my cousins, Wally and Jenni, and—." "You're a twin," I interrupted accidentally. Bart tensed up. "Where's your brother?" "I don't have a brother... I have a twin," Bart replied. I didn't know what he meant by that, so I didn't say anything else. I said goodnight, and I went home. Roy lay on the couch with his eyes closed. "You're early, you know," Roy whispered. He seemed exhausted. "What'd you do?" "Why does Bart hate his twin?" I asked.

"He'll tell you when he's ready," Roy replied, "Could I hear about your day?" I sat in his chair, linking my fingers over my chest as I stared at Roy. He lay still, eyes shut, but I knew he was listening. "It was alright... Am I allowed to talk about the group?" I asked. "You can talk about yourself but no one else," Roy replied. "The day was long, but I'm glad I don't have to talk about myself anymore this week. Am I allowed to hang out this weekend?" I asked. "Yeah. If you get through tomorrow the way you did today, you can go wherever. I think Garth is going to the beach or something... Donna's going bowling with whoever's down to go... And I'm doing movie night. Saturday, though, I'm not sure what we're doing. I'll probably take some of the kids hiking. I feel like I'm forgetting something important," Roy mumbled. He pulled a blanket over himself and stretched out. "You don't have to wake up at four tomorrow... But that's not what I'm forgetting." "Roy? Are you gonna sleep there tonight?" I asked. "Not sleeping, just resting my eyes... Thursdays are my tough days. I run a group just like everyone else, and sometimes it takes a toll... But I'll be okay by tomorrow," Roy reassured me. I rolled my shoulders back and went to the kitchen. I couldn't sleep when people seemed tense, so I made Roy some tea. He had a bunch of different kinds. Some stuff I'd never even heard of. After the kettle started whistling, I picked two packets with a picture of white flowers and what I imagined was a lemon. I set the teacup on a coaster and tapped Roy's shoulder. "I don't know how you like your tea... I just thought that-." Roy sat up and took a deep breath. I wondered if he knew something I didn't or if he was like that with everybody. It felt good to finally come home at the end of the day, but I worried things wouldn't stay that way. If I learned anything from my parents, things are never what they seem.

I overlooked the wip part and just made characters of my favs soooo. I mean! I do have a fic where all of these characters (minus Bart) are in! And they get bombed by glitter! Thus the glitter, stickers and sparkles on their faces and around them.

I did Tim's twice cuz I didn't notice the throat scar until I was making Jason's but HE HAS A THROAT SCAR NOW HAHAHAHAHAHAHA TITANS TOWER LET'S GOOOOO!!!! JDKFVBEHFEOIJD Also yeah, skater boy Tim is something I will never give up.

AHHHHHHHHHHH THE FRINGE! JASON HAS THE FRINGE!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR THE WHITE FRINGE I SBHFVHFOEWIL Also, I headcanon that Jason has a pair of glasses cuz he's a nerd (jk, ik that's stereotyping. I just love the concept of him having glasses cuz- LOOKIT HIM! LOOKIT THAT ADORABLE GORGEOUS BULK OF A BOY! I LOVE HIM!)

And yes, Dickiebird is the sunshine boy and the perfect media picture. NYEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH ALL OF THE BATKIDS HAVE SCARS HA.

DAMIIIIIIIII!!! And that's a Gotham Academy uniform ^^ This kid is a cute kid which tries not to act cute but lookit him. Adowable baby.

Steph has strawberry earrings. If there were crazier earrings, I would have put it, but there isn't. The earrings are a tribute to the fic I wrote about Steph having matchbox earrings called "Everyone Is On Fire In The End" (I've linked it) I love Steph. She's awesome.

And ofc, our perfect but-behind-the-scenes-is-actually-the-one-who-causes-all-the-shenanigans queen. Cass. And obvi she's gonna have a lot of scars. I was researching which color eyes she had and in the comics so far she has had, blue, green, and brown eyes. So i went with blue cuz... black-haired blue-eyed. Yk?

Alfred!!! I love him. The sassy grandpa butler.

Guess who the one next to Alfred is. HIMBO BRUCIE WAYNE. His scars were from when he tried to kiss a Tasmanian Devil on his trip to Australia ✌️❤️✨ This cannot possibly be Batman. The butts are lying.

Bonus: Cute Bart. He got his scars from trying to one-up Tim in skateboarding.
