#tiana is badass like that
Text
Ngl, if Tiana doesn't wield a firearm in some way in her new series, I'm gonna be so disappointed. Firearms were already very legal and commonly used in the States by the mid-late 1920s (which is when TPATF mostly takes place), so I'd like to see her sport it at least once. She'd be the first Disney Princess to canonically wield a gun/firearm. They seriously need to make that happen. Also, why doesn't fanart of her wielding a firearm exist????
#tiana#disney#the tiana series#i hc tiana as a pro-gun person like honestly. she would only use it when she REALLY needs it to tho. that'd be her whole thing#you can't tell me she doesn't have a firearm hidden in the kitchen in case someone breaks in. i see tiana as THAT type#she wouldn't really shoot but at least intimidate the intruder#i mean she used louie to f*cking scare the racist businessmen into giving her the damn key to the territory#don't think for one second she wouldn't wield a firearm to scare someone away#“why are you hc'ing tiana as pro-gun” my brother in christ this was the united states in the '20s#the us has always been known for its VERY pro-gun stance#also given the era she grew up in (jim crow) that woulda been very useful anyways#tiana is badass like that#crazy to think she is the only princess who possibly lived till the 21st century#she was born in 1907 as she was 19 in 1926. that sh*t is incredible tbh#disney will never ever show that but man it makes you think like damn she really saw ALL of the social change#i know she isn't real#i get that part but i'm sorry dp's are the most important characters to me so it blows my mind that she possibly lived till the 21st centur#it's crazy but cool#“you are glorifying gun violence. that's horrible” no sister i'm just talking about how cool and badass it'd be for a disneh princess to#wield a gun. they've wielded swords and bows before (mulan ariel [in the sequel for a brief moment] rapunzel probably MERIDA moana quite#possibly RAYA) so why is a gun any different? also that's a whole another vibe tbh#naveen is the one that would be like “WAIT WAIT WHY ARE YOU HOLDING THAT THING???” dude is probably a gun HATER#i can tell it. “i don't understand you americans's obsession with guns!!!! seriously!” and tiana is like oh poor bby lmaooo#jasmine did too in the series!! these b*tches are no stranger to WEAPONS lmao

Disney Prince x Princess Couples SWAP!!!
FYI: I'm ONLY counting official Princess couples, which ends with Anna being the last one with a canon love interest. So, there's no Merida, Elsa, Moana, or Raya. The goal for this was to have Prince x Princess crossover pairings ONLY.
Snow White x Eugene
Tumblr media
Rapunzel is basically Modern-Day Snow White, and they have very similar Pure Hearts, the kind that can break down Eugene's walls. Snow White knows how to be firm when necessary, but her greatest strength is her unfailing kindness. Eugene would definitely reveal his deepest desires after sharing a cup of tea with Snow.
Cinderella x Adam (the Beast)
Tumblr media
Picture this: Cinderella chooses to stay at the Beast's castle in exchange for her family (be it her dad, who is alive some versions of the fairytale, or her step-family, because she IS selfless enough to try to help them). She no longer has to work as a slave (though knowing her, she'd still damn well would try to help out), and she would assimilate easily into an Enchanted Castle's environment, and her gentleness and kindness, with juuuuust a bit more of a feisty backbone to confront the Beast's temper, would unravel the Beast's tangled heart.
Aurora x Eric
Tumblr media
There are two things Phillip and Eric have in common: they both slayed the villain in an incredibly badass fashion, and they both are smitten with a mysterious voice. Eric is 1000% an homage to Prince Phillip's character, and you cannot tell me that he wouldn't fall head over heels in love with Mary Costa "Briar Rose's" gorgeous voice. (And let's be real, Aurora definitely has a Type lol)
Ariel x John Smith
Tumblr media
Ariel wants to see the human world. John Smith wants to explore the "New World." You do the math. Okay, in all honesty, this is lowkey my least favorite pairing 😭 but when you take away the Awkward Historical Stuff, they do still??? kinda fit???? It's one thing for Ariel to go ashore the nearest human kingdom; it's another for her to actually EXPLORE the planet, with an equal adventurer by her side. (Originally, I paired her with Aladdin, but I found an equal, if not better partner for him below ^^")
Belle x Phillip
Tumblr media
Here's a "Prince Charming" who takes names and kicks ass and would provide the adventure Belle wants so dearly. Also, I just want good things for Belle, so really, who wouldn't want Prince Slay-a-Dragon-Get-the-Girl Phillip???
Jasmine x Shang
Tumblr media
Shang likes a woman who can kick his ass, whether physically or verbally, and Jasmine 1000% fits the bill. Also, she'd whip that Internalized Misogyny out of his system faster than you can say "I'll Make a Man Out of You" lol
Pocahontas x Kristoff
Tumblr media
Look, they're both outdoorsy types, definitely prefer animals to people, and totally would take up rock climbing as a couple's activity. They're one of the few couples on this list that I did NOT change my mind on; they just fit, okay????
Mulan x Florian
Tumblr media
Idk sometimes I'm a basic bitch and just want a Malewife x Girlboss pairing bksbdvhbdvnmsdxngf
Tiana x Charming
Tumblr media
I just want good things for Tiana and if that means marrying a rich prince who'll step back and let her manage her own restaurant or the palace kitchens, then so be it! Again, Malewife x Girlboss 😤
Rapunzel x Aladdin
Tumblr media
Both are adventurous, both have confidence in their abilities despite their traumas, and Rapunzel is feisty enough for Aladdin's tastes. (Also, I have an inexplicable image of them adventuring throughout Agrabah with Punzie's hair swinging them about, Spider-Man style hdbgfjsdbhkgbsdf XD)
Anna x Naveen
Tumblr media
Look, Naveen has actual Game, and is NOT sinister like Hans, so he would EASILY sweep Anna off her feet, in the best way possible. But he wouldn't jump to marriage, and Elsa's Ice Queen presence would prevent him from, ah, moving things too fast lol ^^" Naveen, at the end of the day, is a supporter, not a leader, and that gives room for Anna to take the reins.

I want to address the criticism of Asha not having a specific defined personality trait like some of the Disney heroines because in the artbook it states this was intentional.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
People say it's a bad thing that she doesnt have a specific personality archetype like say Tiana (serious/hard working) and Rapunzel (bubbly and naive) cuz she doesn't stand out from the others.
But like that is the point. You don't have to like this point but I personally do, cuz I think her story of being an average girl who inspires people is a good message for kids but also refreshing for the Disney princess lineup, if she ever becomes one. We haven't gotten an activist heroine since Esmeralda which was 28 years ago...
I didn't think she was a one dimensional or generic protagonist either cuz like Magnifico she has different sides to her that come out in different situations. She was sweet, passionate, witty, badass and charming and those aren't new traits but I still loved her character. She has the most balanced personality of the Disney girls and that's unique in of itself💜🌸💫

Arcana Headcanon: M6's favorite Disney Princesses
(Because I just discovered that Dorian naturally got this very wrong and I am irritated about it. Put under the cut because explaining my thoughts got long.)
Muriel- Snow White
Actually canon as declared by the OG devs. And this fits really well! Friend to All Animals, hiding out in the woods thanks to a vain villain... absolutely works.
Asra- Jasmine
This enby is streetwise, constantly outwits his enemies instead of defeating them with brute strength, has a truly kind heart despite rumors that surround the persona he presents to others (diamond in the rough, anyone?), loves going out to see the world, has plenty of magical companions... yeah, Asra is absolutely Aladdin. So how can his favorite princess be anyone but Jasmine? (Also you cannot tell me that Asra hasn't canonically pulled the "do you trust me?" bit at one point. Or that he never wanted to take his Apprentice on a magic carpet ride).
(I saw a comment on the original about relating to Mulan as a nonbinary person, and I love that! So valid! This headcanon is not meant to counter or to dismiss this in any way. I can absolutely see Asra loving the movie and appreciating Mulan as a character as well. But I cannot see her being his favorite Disney princess. More details later as well lol)
Julian - Rapunzel
Same logic as Asra. This man is Flynn Rider/Eugene Fitzherbert. Plus he'd love Rapunzel's sunny energy, and he'd be intrigued by the healing powers (not to mention the fascinating origin behind them). Plus he will absolutely serenade his love with "I See the Light."
Nadia - Merida
Nadia would be a fan of Megara, but Megara is NOT a Disney Princess.
This one was admittedly a bit tougher to pick. My first instinct went to Tiana, since Nadia would relate to her drive and the character arc of balancing work and love. Second thought was Aurora, as Nadia has often felt like the "cursed princess" archetype herself, but that could also make her hate the character, sooo...
Anyway, I settled on Merida since she's headstrong, independent, capable, and hey, Nadia can connect to the family drama. (Plus we all know she has a certain fondness for fiery redheads.)
Lucio - Mulan
TINKERBELL IS ALSO NOT A DISNEY PRINCESS SHE HAS HER OWN FRANCHISE FFS...
Lucio's the kind of guy who would buy into all those bad faith Disney takes that led to the dumb changes they made in the live action remakes. But even if it was just at the surface level of "badass warrior who basically blows up the bad guy in the end," Lucio would love Mulan.
(And I can see Asra finding out that Lucio's favorite princess was Mulan and then changing his own favorite out of spite.)
Portia - Ariel or Moana
This is the only one that I agree with. Portia would adore Ariel. But I can see her loving Moana, too. A strong warrior in her own right who does everything for her family, goes on epic sailing adventures, has TWO cute animal companions, AND has a friendship with the ocean that basically ends up as water magic? Plus she would cry over the "I know who you are" scene at the end.

batfamily as disney princesses
wait so ive been thinking more about this post in particular on what the assigned disney princess is for each batfamily member and i need to u all to understand my thoughts rn 1. dick as ariel from the little mermaid:
can we agree on the fact that dick is the most likely to get eloped without giving a single hint? also the most likely to break out into a spontaneous song number. he's such a bubbly person and would be friends with anyone, INCLUDING A CRAB. 2. jason as tiana from princess and the frog: okay hear me out- we're so used to him being perceived as belle, but honestly they're not THAT similar personality wise. tiana is passionate, persistent and opinionated. if that doesn't scream jason i don't know what does. both of them would never change themselves for other people and i think thats so lovely. 3. tim as belle from beauty and the beast: im still on my tim as belle bullshit !! both of them are idealistic, loyal and slightly judgemental. honestly the way both of them managed to change people around them( i.e- bruce and the beast) to become better people, while not giving two fucks is pretty commendable LMFAO.
4. damian as snow white from snow white and the seven dwarfs:
DO YOU SEE MY VISION. imagine littol damian frolicking in a field as he sings to a bunch of deers and bluebirds. in my mind, he's just a gremlin with no thoughts but little critters running through his brain. he's so gentle with his pets and is extremely environmentally conscious.
5. cass as mulan from mulan:
there is literally no other option more fit for her. groomed from a young age to be something they're not, but then becoming badass warriors in their own right? like yesss girl bosses !! and both of them having issues with finding their own self that's not a reflection of what other's want and perceive them to be?? so compelling~
6. stephanie as rapunzel from tangled.
thats it. that's all you need. okay i'm joking but stephanie is so painfully rapunzel it HURTS. both escaping from a toxic environment to find enjoyment for life once again, and doing good for the world. i love them both to death. they're also my gf's
okay as for the rest i dont have any concrete reasoning but the vibes just m a t c h
6. duke as elsa from frozen- idk something about them is just so uncanny. i'd imagine trying to live upto the expectations of ur new family and the rest of the population would take a toll on you, which is basically the premise of frozen. and both of them are rlly pretty...
7. barbara as jasmine from aladdin- literally best girls icl. there is no logic behind this, but i think little barbara dreamed of being as cool as jasmine one day. BONUS: bruce wayne as cinderella.
anyways this is all just for fun and feel free to comment ur suggestions !!

seijoh’s favorite disney movies !
i just remembered there was this one seijoh fic i read where kunimi’s favorite movie was the little mermaid and it has inspired me so here are the rest pf the aoba johsai boys’ favorite disney movies :)
kindaichi / princess and the frog - kindaichi’s my little reptile/amphibian lover this just makes sense. he had a major crush on naveen like holy shit. he also loves tiana to death, just wanted to give her a big ol’ hug and attend her and charlotte’s little tea parties as a kid ;-; he sings “almost there” when he’s in the locker room, it gets him in the zone
yahaba / hercules - yeah he KNOWS it’s not entirely accurate to the actual greek gods. yeah he still loves it anyways. seeing hercules and meg together was his bi awakening (rightfully so) and really sculpted his type in women (hot, too-cool-for-you badasses) and men (cute, muscly dumbasses). from ages 4 to 7 he thought pegasi were real, and then cried when his older brother told him they weren’t
kyoutani / lady and the tramp - bc like dogs. obviously. he would never admit it but deep down the hopeless romantic in him desperately wants to remake the iconic spaghetti kiss scene with someone (*cough* yahaba *cough*). he’s just a sucker for watching two dogs from different lifestyles fall in love <3
watari / aladdin - jasmine was one of his first crushes ever. that one scene where she’s like being held hostage(?) and wearing that red outfit and does that little pose when she starts fake flirting with jafar? made his heart do somersaults like crazy. when he was younger he grabbed a carpet from the living room and jump off the couch, thinking, of course, that he would fly (he, in fact, did not fly)
matsukawa / beauty and the beast - his little brother and sister watch this ALL THE TIME and now he finds himself singing “it’s a guest, it’s a guest!” whenever his mom tells him they’re having company over. he calls the beast a furry every second he’s on screen, but also finds the little snowball-play-fight scene with him and belle really endearing
hanamaki / the fox and the hound - he bawled his goddamn eyes out when he first watched this. he could genuinely write a whole, in-depth essay about it and the relationship between copper and tod. a lot of his old toys/stuffed animals are foxes with different tod-esque names (tod, tod 2.0, two-d, toderella)
oikawa / lilo & stitch - i could 100% see little, alien-obsessed, kid oikawa freaking the fuck out about this movie. he’d beg his parents to go to the animal shelter and then get pissed off that all they had was normal pets and not a cool, blue, alien “dog”
iwaizumi / tangled - he just seems like someone who would start gushing about rapunzel and flynn rider whenever they’re brought up. he used to watch it when he was sick as a kid, and to this day whenever he’s feeling under the weather he’ll immediately turn it on and the nostalgia supersedes his illness. “you were my new dream / and you were mine” makes him tear up every time without fail
(back to the kunimi/little mermaid thing- it should also be noted that i think kindaichi with his hair down would look like prince eric and that realization makes kunimi swoon)

Crutch Tropes #1: “I just want to be normal.”
One cannot write a sensical story that is completely devoid of tropes, much less completely immune to the audience presuming tropes whether you intend them or not. In short: Tropes are not, and have never been, the “problem”.
The problem isn’t even that some become clichés. The problem is when writers use tropes in place of actual character development and detail, because they think just stamping the trope on the page suffices. This isn’t usually done maliciously, either, it’s from inexperience at best, or ego at worst.
Every trope can be a writing crutch—as in, its mere existence gives the illusion of depth where there isn’t any—but there’s a whole subset of tropes that become annoying and exhausting clichés when they don’t have to be. I think they can still be implemented as solid story and character choices with a little TLC thrown their way.
I already wrote about lacking buildup for major character beats and how they’re clearly written to make the audience angry or scared or to pick a side or fall in love, and here is one of the most egregious.
No one who’s just been shown the secret otherworld of every fantasy reader’s dreams wants to be “normal”. This line gets thrown around to drive early conflict between the reluctant chosen one and their new badass friends, as if entering this new otherworld or accepting these new powers or responsibilities in any way makes their generic and “normal” life worse.
The writer knows this, otherwise they wouldn’t be banking on the super cool awesomeness of the world they just created to sell books.
The best instances of this trope are well into the story where the character can see and has likely suffered the downsides of this otherworld. Or, a seasoned veteran character comes to terms with the fact that they've given their life to this entity and never got the chance to be normal. By that point, the audience is already endeared to them and right in this mess with them. At the start of the story, we have no idea who this person is.
How to fix: These powers/attention/responsibilities are actually a serious threat and detriment to the character’s ability to live their life and being “normal” is something they have actually never known. “Normal” becomes a gift. Or, the character has a very clear idealized “normal” and the plot is in the way of it.
Without this addition, “I just want to be normal” feels empty and cheap, because most of us readers are “normal”, and can’t empathize with a whining protagonist who we all know will come around eventually.
This trope also loses its teeth when the character cannot define what “normal” they want. Many chosen ones are already written in the midst of their tragic backstory and already don’t live an average life compared to the average reader, but they don’t complain about not being “normal” until they’re dragged out of their miserable existence into the way cooler plot.
But many chosen ones are also just average people, who inexplicably turn down amazing adventures because they just… really want to be homecoming queen, or really love slinging burgers, or taking the bus to school, or doing homework. No one with that life wants to be “normal”, and none of those characters ever articulate just what’s so special about this life.
Perfect example of both versions of this solution:
Princess and the Frog: Tiana wants to open her restuarant and wants nothing to do with romance or an adventure. Naveen stands in the way of her "normal" every chance he gets. Tiana's quest is never for romance, it's to undo the magic spell that she got dragged into on accident, and romance is just a happy byproduct.
The Lightning Thief: Being a demigod sounds cool, but the survival rate of these tragic heroes into adulthood, much less 16, is very low, and the book narrative makes it very clear that these so-called heroes are really just beasts of burden doing the gods' dirty work. Percy may not want to continue living exactly the way he is, but at the start of the book, he doesn't give a damn about helping his deadbeat godly dad. When he yearns for normalcy, we can all see why.
What is their normal and why do they want it? What are they already doing, or what do they wish would happen, to obtain that idyllic normalcy? I wrote this post about humanizing your characters, and if you’re going to write this blip in the hero’s journey, this is your chance to get as vivid and specific as you can about what this character sees as their perfect life.

Bat-people x Disney Princesses au
soooo, I’m making another one of these thingys, I plan to actually do something on one of the posts either the big hero six one I made or this one. I would however like to say I do plan on making in depth posts on why for each of them. And for sure the Big Hero Six one and most likely this one too. But here are my thoughts!
Tiana (princess and the frog) or Ariel - Tim Drake. (I would like to say that tiana fits more Tim just getting to be robin and/or the fact he doesn’t take any breaks so he’s just sitting there liek “I’m almost there get away from me>:[“ and then Ariel is specifically right when Tim becomes Robin or just a bit before and a bit after)
Belle or Jasmine - Jason Todd (So dudes a nerd, and also idk Jasmine just fits don’t ya think?)
Rapunzel or (I see it okay) Cinderella - Dick Grayson
Pocahontas or Mulan - Cassandra Cain (I would like to say I personally believe that Cass is a badass and so I believe these harasses for her)
Raya (Idk if I count her as a Disney princess but like 🤷) - Steph (I could also see her as Aurora but I mean 🤷 I feel like Raya’s good)
don’t ask me why I decide to do this idk 🤷. But I would very much love feedback with reasons why you agree or disagree with my choices of Disney princesses. Also if anyone has any other ideas for other characters just in general I’d love to hear those too!

Disney, plus other corporations, act as if if a girl even DARES to let a man or someone to save her then she is all of a sudden a DAMSEL IN DISTRESS THAT CAN'T PROTECT HERSELF AND NEEDS HELP OR ELSE SHE WILL BREAK HER LEG AND DIE BECAUSE SHE IS TOO STUPID TO SAVE HERSELF!!! And they also act as if if she EVEN having slight interest in someone all of a sudden that's all her personality is when no it isn't. Why are we acting like being in love is a sin?? That's a normal thing!! Plus it's normal for women to dream about possibly being in love and GUESS WHAT! EVEN men dream of being in love and getting with someone. But when a man has a crush on someone it's not their only personality trait. Unless there is absolutely no personality to that character and they really are only a love interest then okay, fair point. But the thing is, in their old Disney movies, the female characters were never bland or were just love interests. Plus they were also strong and were independent. Even when they needed help, that didn't make them damsels in distress. that just made them into normal humans who obviously have flaws and can't all of a sudden be a master at everything and start beating villains up with their heels and crowns and tell their animal friends to eat them. Also I guess Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Pocahontas, Moana and Jasmine don't exist ._. Or they just ignored all of their strong badass moments.
Honestly Idk if it's just me but this screams possible misogyny and also possibly sexism but maybe I'm going too far with that. (Yeah after seeing your Snow White post I just felt the urge to vent I'm sorry for this long ass rant)

Huh... hard to pick something out of that many thing... XD
Well. How about The Shuffle?
This is the fanfic idea I'm least attached to at the moment, mostly because of time, so if someone else wants to do it, go for it!
The Shuffle is meant to be a series where Disney (and other) princesses switch stories. And in an isekai way, not like they were born there. These are the pairings for the first series. [Story - princess]
Beauty and the Beast – Mulan Tangled – Moana Mulan – Rapunzel Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – Anna Brave – Elsa The Little Mermaid – Merida Aladdin – Snow White Moana – Belle Frozen – Jasmine and Tiana Princess and the Frog – Ariel
This was really more of a random thought kind of thing, but I really liked some of the things my brain concocted with these. Mulan riding the beast into battle like a badass also proving that he does not need to be human to be loved and appreciated. Moana basically bitch slapping Mother Gothel. Merida wondering where the heck her legs went and why she'd ever risk her voice just for "some guy". Ariel thinking she has devolved into a frog as some lesson from her father. Jasmine and Tiana arguing over the kingdom and Hanz never having a chance. Belle wishing she'd read more about how to survive at sea.
I originally wanted to call it The Princess Shuffle, but then my imagination got carried away and thought doing a round 2 with the "princes" except not all Disney. And then I wanted to do more princesses that weren't Disney either, but anyway, here's the "prince" list.
How to Train Your Dragon - Hiro Treasure Planet – Sinbad Sinbad – Percy Big Hero 6 – Milo Rise of the Guardians – Mike (April Fool’s Day) Percy Jackson – Jack Frost Atlantis – James Hawkins Peter Pan – Hiccup Monsters Inc – Peter Pan and Miguel Coco – Sully
The chances I'll ever sit down and really commit to this are pretty slim, considering all the other projects I want to do (especially original stuff), but it's still there, floating in the way back of my mind...
Thanks for the ask tuuli!

Girl im so fucking fed up of disney and their wokeism i hear u 😭😭 just for once why can you not give us a movie that we asked for. That we ASKED for. Princesses can be badass and still have a prince charming 💀💀💀 like Tiana. She bossbitched through the whole movie with her own hopes and dreams!!! And managed to ACHIEVE IT AND GET HER PRINCE. They're gonna find a way to botch princess and the frog too I pray to god that disney do not decide to remake that shit. + they'll give the role to a lightskin actor most prob which will cause even more outrage.
On that note- what did you think of the aladdin remake? Ik some despised it but I acc liked it 😔 thought it was done well compared to some of the other remakes recently 😭
BRO SAME and if they mess up tiana at ALL i will go ballistic bc she was my icon. she owned that for real. and her best friend LOVED HER SO PURELY. i will rage
that being said i did like aladdin !! i loved it actually jdjsjdjd idk why ppl hated on it tbh it was rly good imo. and i liked beauty and the beast that was LOVELY. those are my two disney live actions that i don’t hate

The Start
Yakuza a Japanese organized crime syndicate similar to the Mafia. They're monsters who feed off of power, violence, and money.
They're monsters who hunt the strong and make them weak, they're monsters who feed off the cries and the begging, monsters who are incapable of love. You've seen them, heard them, touched them and yet they don't even bat an eye.
Keishin Ukai the most lethal monster of them all and now you're engaged to him.
Series page/Next chapter
Tumblr media
They’re a massive family with 6 groups and he is like the “primary” leader of them all, you think. You were a little bit stunned to see that there were girls in the gang who are badass and intimidating. It sounds weird now that you’re thinking about it because here you’re assuming the worst. You question how they will respond when Tiana gets here.
I noticed they keep weapons throughout the building likewise, they smoke a bunch which is an issue when an infant is going to be here. “I’m going to have to address this to Ukai—Oh shit...I have to see his intimidating ass again” perhaps I can speak to one of the groups instead of him. It’s not that he is unpleasant person well he does slaughter people, but I can tell that he wouldn’t mistreat me or Tiana. Hopefully.
Tiana arrives in 2 days from her grandmother’s house and I can’t wait to hold her again. I am anxious about her being in this environment with weapons, drugs, cussing, etc. I hope they will comprehend that there will be an infant around here. I don’t want to intrude on their daily schedule, but there are things that Tiana can’t be around, so I need to speak to each groups including Ukai. “Damn it, I’m starting to get into my head. Maybe they’re not like that” you said, out loud with clear frustration.
Maybe I should sit them down together- my thoughts had gotten cut off when there was a knock on the door. There was a silent pause until a raspy voice spoke “It’s me, Ukai. We have to talk real quick” god forbid right now Ukai.

I completely agree on Belle, I actually don't dislike her as much as I used to but my gosh her stans used to be the worst. Always going after the previous 4 princesses esp Snow White who is a literal angel. But I was wondering do you see Mulan being treated a similar way as Belle by fans? No doubt Mulan is 100x more accomplished but Disney and her fandom both treat the other heroines like garbage to lift her up in the same way I've noticed people do for Belle. which I don't get because Mulan herself doesn't have a problem with other women!!
Totally agree! The Disney Princess franchise has weathered so many attacks against people who hate anything inherently feminine and I think the brand heads are still trying to reel from the damage control they tried to do in the 2000s and 2010s, which was essentially prop up the masculine and combative princesses and diss the classics the company was built upon.
The Mulan topic is interesting because I like Mulan fine, and her fans aren't as bad as Belle fans...but I think she and Tiana are misunderstood. They're well rounded characters with an arc and visible flaws that make them human, but possess so many redeeming qualities, and they're actual people with shortcomings and also things about them that are great, etc, but their fans glorify them and make them into these Mary Sues that have no issues and idk I just feel like it takes away from who they are and fans always end up focusing on the wrong aspect of said princess. Like, Mulan wasn't obsessed with combat from day 1 and this badass girl that did whatever she wanted. She was someone who was willing to enter an arranged marriage to appease her family, someone who was clumsy and didn't know her place in the world, someone who didn't have tact in her interpersonal relationships- but her love for her father and her wit in the strategic way she approached battle and her determination is what should be applauded. We shouldn't be rewarding her because she was naturally the best fighter on the field- but because she overcame her natural shortcomings (when compared to the men she was up against that were physically more competent than her in the beginning) and, through sheer grit, she managed to rise above it all. Also, because she's a fascinating blend of masculinity and femininity. Tiana's another good example- fans prop her up for being a "girl boss" and embodying grind culture, when that's who she was before her arc. Her story became complete once she realized hard work would only take her half the way and she needed to remember the love she had in her heart for her father and the people around her and to keep the hope alive that her father instilled in her as a child, with things like wishing upon the evening star.
I think in the case of these two princesses, though, they largely are misunderstood because the shift in Princess marketing in the past couple of years is to put certain princesses in front of us more than others- Moana, Belle, Mulan, Tiana, and Merida are given priority imo- and I think they try to group them together in the pre-arc versions of themselves and tell the masses that they're whatever values we deem as more important in our current vernacular of what it means to be a "strong" woman but it generally is removed from how the characters were in their films and the princesses are just kinda used as mascots for whatever traits are popular at any given time.

27-39 disney asks
27. Snow White or Cinderella
I love both, but I have to go with Cinderella.
28. Ariel or Belle
Again, I love both of these ladies, and if you had asked me this 5 years or more, I'd have easily answered Belle, but now I'll go for Ariel. She has one the most charming personalities and her story is just fantastic. Belle's is too, but Ariel got me more by juuuust a bit.
29. Pocahontas or Mulan
Aaaah, these questions are such a test! I love both of them so much and how they divert from the "girl-next-door" archetype. I'll go for Mulan. Her story and character journey are truly heartwarming and beautiful.
30. Aurora or Rapunzel
This one is a tad bit easier. I'll obviously go for Rapunzel. I love how bubbly and quirky but also strong-willed and courageous she is. Aurora definitely has that classic feminine, elegant air to her and I truly enjoy that about her, but ultimately, Rapunzel has my heart.
31. Tiana or Jasmine
I love both of these determined, feisty ladies, but I have to with Tiana cuz I like how grounded and down-to-earth she is. Jasmine is definitely a tigress who just wanted to be treated like a normal girl and I like that, but again, Tiana's the one who got a tighter grip on me.
32. Meg or Kida
Why must you put me through this torture? Haha. I adore both, but I find Kida slightly more intriguing because of her backstory, culture and warrior princess status, but Meg is still a great character with a strong, sassy personality and I enjoy that. Still, Kida wins here.
33. Stitch or Pooh
I love both, but I'm sorry, but Pooh is too freaking adorable, so I'll go for him. Stitch is still pretty cute, too!
34. Eugene Fitzherbert or Prince Eric
This one is going to be really controversial because of the massive popularity of one of these gentlemen (everybody knows who), but I'll go for Eric. Sorry Eugene, I love you very dearly, but Eric's just got that smile, and those eyes, and that hair... and he saved his freaking dog! Bro is a real one. Both are kings, but Eric wins my heart ❤️
35. Prince Charming or The Prince
Prince Charming. This one is the easiest of all the questions lol
36. Li Shang or John Smith
Li Shang, of course. This one is the second easiest one lol. Li Shang is charismatic and hot as hell. He wins by a thousand miles.
37. Prince Philip or The Beast (Adam, allegedly)
I love Philip, but I have to go for the Beast. I'd chosen Philip about a year ago, but I've gained a new appreciation for The Beast and, yes, even his human form. He actually isn't that bad. He still isn't on the others's level facially-speaking, but he is better than we give him credit for lol
38. Prince Naveen or Aladdin
I love Naveen in his glorious glory, but my man Aladdin just got a special place in my heart. He is very similar to Eric visually, but is truly the first Disney Prince that fully diverted from the classic prince archetype and that has to be respected. He is also so attractive, too. Naveen's still a certified babe, so don't get it twisted! Aladdin still comes out on top, though.
39. Hercules or Milo
Both are adorable nerds who fell in love with strong, badass women and ended up doing what's right for the love they had. However, I'll go for Hercules in this case cuz he is just too lovable!
