Angled Aro Ace Pride Stained Glass Column - v1
Hand-drawn design of the word "PRIDE" written over the colors from one version of the Angled Aro Ace Pride Flag, set in abstract shapes reminiscent of stained glass.
"An angled aroace is a individual that is both ace-spec and aro-spec (though not necessarily strictly aromantic and asexual) who experiences some form of attraction that they feel is significant enough to warrant a place alongside their aro-spec and ace-spec identities. This attraction can be a tertiary attraction, sexual attraction, or romantic attraction. The term was intended to be used by those who are not strictly aroace." (via lgbtqia.wiki)

hey. do whatever you want btw. it’s your identity. kiss people for fun. enjoy sex. nobody’s stopping you. being aro and/or ace doesn’t mean you have to be repulsed by romantic or sexual activities if you don’t want to.
and also! things only mean what you meant them to mean. you can have platonic sex and platonically make out with your friends. it’s true. just be sure to communicate so that everyone involved understands and you’re good.

WHAT apparently the aro/ace tags are trending due to exclusionist bs!? I am seeing things like "hetero-aces/aros don't belong in our community" or "cishet ace/aro men dont belong"--
Look. It does not matter if you are heteroromantic or heterosexual, if you are a man, a woman, anything in-between, both, anything outside entirely, if you identify only with being ace while being heteroromantic, or only aro but heterosexual, or both or oriented or angled, you are ACE, you are ARO, you are valid and you have a place in the community as any body else. We are connected by our experiences regardless of origin and don't let anybody tell you you don't deserve to feel comfortable or be in this community just because you don't fit some worthless critera. Straight As are still As.
There is a reason we call it a spectrum, because it is diverse and there is nothing else quite like being this. It is unfathomable that this was ever a question.

so Idk if I actually am or not because my brain does this thing sometimes where my hormones go ‘wee-ooh-wee-ooh’ and set off false alarms but potentially a little bit in love with my best friend but like not enough to want to ruin our friendship because she likes this boy and I’m happy for her and don’t really think I’m jealous or anything so like talked to her and decided I’ll just try to not to let it ruin our friendship and just let it die on its own if its real at all. But now questioning whether I’m still aroace? Cuz like no other label feels quite right to me? And the type of relationship I sometimes think I want in the future doesn’t feel quite like a normal relationship in that way? Idk man.
if aroace feels right, you can always stick with that, but you could also look into oriented aroace or angled aroace if you want something more specific! good luck!
oriented aroace- being 100% aromantic and asexual, but feeling other forms of attraction, like platonic or aesthetic, in a way that’s important to your identity
angled aroace- when you are on both the aro and ace spectrums but not necessarily 100% of either & you feel other forms of attraction in a way that’s important to your identity

As a lesbian, I have literally never been bothered by the things non-lesbians have told me I have to be offended by.
Ace lesbians? Cool.
Aro lesbians? Swag.
Aroace lesbians? Neat.
Lesbians with split attraction? Wonderful.
He/him lesbians? Sure.
Transmasc lesbians? Whatever floats your boat.
POC lesbians with their identity influenced by their culture? Lovely.
Bigender lesbians? Nice.
T4T lesbians? Amazing.
Butch 4 butch lesbians? Rad.
Femme 4 femme lesbians? Great.
Like there are so many issues we actually face that we'd love y'all to get fired up about, but instead you chose to play identity and respectability politics with members of our community just living their lives and not hurting anyone??? It's wild.

yknow. i’m actually not romance repulsed. i just think i was so uncomfortable with the idea of someone wanting something i can’t give. i want to love someone forever with undying devotion and engrave their likeness into marble. and i will. have. often. is it romantic? probably not. not based on what i’ve heard about what it’s supposed to feel like, physically and emotionally.
i think as long as whoever was into me in that way knew that my feelings were adjacent but not exactly matching, and they were cool with that, that i would be alright with being romantically or sexually desired.
i still have complicated feelings about sex, but that’s less about identity. i do think i’m not sex repulsed, either. it’s weird realizing these things, using other aroace experiences to try to understand my own and understanding that my story of self understanding is my own.

Do you find a lot of people in the ace community who are allo for one gender & grey aroace for another 1+?
hi. not a lot, it's a pretty rare occurence, but it does totally happen and is completely valid. look into 'varioriented'!
