Happy lesbian visibility week to aromantic lesbians! Y’all are cool as fuck.
Shoutout to allosexual aromantic lesbians! Your sexual attraction to women is beautiful and normal, and you aren’t bad or predatory for feeling that attraction, regardless of whether it’s accompanied by romantic attraction. Shoutout to aro lesbians who feel some romantic attraction! Your romantic attraction is just as lovely and as real as anyone else’s, even if you may experience yours differently or less often than an alloromantic person would. Shoutout to aroace lesbians. Whether your attraction to women is romantic, sexual, or something else that doesn’t fit neatly into either category, you are no less aroace for being a lesbian, and you are no less of a lesbian for being aroace.
Shoutout to aromantic lesbians who are relationship anarchists, aromantic lesbians who are nonpartnering or polyamorous, aromantic lesbians who are married, aromantic lesbians who have a zucchini/QPP or a foveo/FWB, and aromantic lesbians in soft romo relationships or waverships.
Y’all’re so wonderful, and I hope you have a splendid week!

Just because aspec also includes aplatonic, aqueerplatonic, and other "a" identities doesn't mean that aspec ISN'T for aros. It doesn't mean that we aren't included in that umbrella.
Me saying "the proper umbrella term that includes both aces and aros is aspec" doesn't mean those are the ONLY identities that are represented by aspec
And there is literally no need to create a new word exclusively to represent both the arospec and acespec communities nor should you be using "aroace" for all aromantics.
I don't speak for all non-ace aros but I, as an alloaro, don't want to be included in the "aroace" or "aro/ace" community because I don't relate to asexuals literally at all nor do I want to be a part of their community.
People treat aromanticism as a subcategory of asexual or something that cannot be separated from asexuality ever for any reason, and I'm sick of it.

shoutout to the aromantics who don't feel love at all. shoutout to the aromantics who feel love deeply but not in the way society wants us to. shoutout to the aromantics who are repulsed by romance. shoutout to the aromantics who are romance positive. shoutout to aromantics who have conflicting feeling about romance. shoutout to aromantics that are neutral about romance. shoutout to aromantics in qprs. shoutout to aromantics who aren't in qprs. shoutout to aromantics who are also asexual or aspec. shoutout to aromantics who are allosexual. shoutout to aromantics with conflicting identities. shoutout to aromantics who are questioning. shoutout to aromantics who are in relationships. shoutout to aromantics who are happy not in a relationship.
shoutout to every aromantic person reading this because you are valid and a welcome part of the queer community no matter who you are or what you identify as. you are so loved and appreciated <33

thinking about Lovejoy describing themselves in three words as 'Aromantic British Noises'
thinking about Lovejoy describing themselves in three words as 'Aromantic British Noises'
thinking about how the idea of aromanticism isn't nearly as widespread as it is on Tumblr/various other corners of the internet
thinking about how most people would probably assume the use of Aromantic as a descriptor would imply a lack of any kind of love or romance or close interpersonal relationships in their music which is INHERENTLY NOT TRUE
thinking about Lovejoy choosing Aromantic specifically, confident enough in understanding the actual concept/culture of aromanticism to describe their entire band
thinking about the potential for there to be someone(s) in Lovejoy who is either on the Aromantic spectrum or has considered it as a possibility and has researched it to understand it (and maybe themselves) better
thinking about hard about Lovejoys songs and realising that despite a few having vaguely romantic or implied romantic connotations, you could absolutely do an aro-spec reading of their whole discography
thinking about Lovejoy becoming part of Aro Culture in my heart
thinking about being aro-spec myself, and how id consider the term 'lovejoy' to still very much be my vibe despite that.
thinking about self described Aromantic British Noises, Lovejoy.
thinking about Lovejoy.

there's nothing wrong with being a man and wanting to sleep with men and not date them. it doesn't make you proof queer men are sex-crazed. there's nothing wrong with being a woman and wanting to sleep with women and not date them. it doesn't make you proof queer women are predatory. being alloaro doesn't make you a derogatory stereotype. you deserve respect, no matter what

hey it's feb 14. Love is in the air. So I turned some of the aspec flags into plague doctors.

Friendly reminder that "aroace" is NOT the umbrella term for the whole aromantic/asexual community
The correct umbrella term is Aspec
Aroace is its own specific identity and alloaros don't want to be placed in the "aroace" community

Can I just say that I truly appreciate alloaro cis men? I love how extremely valid they are and how incredibly uniquely queer their existence is!

i saw a post awhile back saying people don’t want queer representation they want queer romance, and that really put words to how i feeling about shipping culture
like wednesday and enid stood in the same room together, didn’t even like each other , and people were screaming at the top of their lungs “MARRIAGE!!”
i think that’s fundamentally why we get so little representation of the trans community and the aro and ace spectrums, i still have yet to hear the word Aromantic on film or tv (i know there’s a tv show rn in i think japan that features a aroace lead i haven’t watched it yet) i’ve seen clips of shows here and there that use the word asexual so that’s good but from what i understand they’re alloace representation which still allows the characters to participate in romance (someone correct me if there’s aroace rep)
idk it’s all just exhausting
i really wish there was a stronger push for like queer people just existing in tv and film instead of the only option being romantic relationships
