I actually feel pretty positive about this new academy (if it pans out the way they are describing of course). One of the biggest problems young female drivers have had until the last year or two is getting taken seriously by the existing academies & training programmes, so they never have a chance to attend the training camps & development programmes to get that essential training & development at an early age & the late karting/early single seater stage when it's most beneficial, and it's one of the big things that sets them back from their make counterparts. I'm circumspect as to whether it will deliver what it promises or not because these things often end up a bit emporer's new clothes in the past but if it does then this could finally provide a proper springboard for some genuine young female talent to be taken seriously by sponsors & backers who could help them secure more than terrible backmarker seats in F4/FRECA level of racing where they can start to properly prove their worth.
I've been reading into it a bit and I'm actually mildly impressed, it seems really thought out with how they approach things, and unlike W-Series it'll be an FIA backed series.
I think one of the big shortcomings of W-Series is the lack of track time and F1 Academy has 3 races per event as well as increased testing. They actually seem to want to be developing drivers from that pivotal stage.
I would like to see more focus on some grassroots karting initiatives to ensure that there will be a flow of talent ready for the next few years, and then maybe in the future they can think of funding an F3/F2 team that will run female drivers in order to encourage progression
I believe that with FOM's contribution of $150k per car it'll be considerably cheaper to race in than comparable F4 series, drivers will have to pay $150k (in addition to FOM's money) compared to the roughly $300k/$350k for F4 series.
I don't think it'll be a massive change early on, I think it'll take a few years to come into its own, but I hope it does well and they continue developing it.

I saw you like Taylor Swift and Red, White, and Royal Blue and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's an alternate history novel abt the 1st woman president in 1945 and her secret interracial sapphic relationship and her bearded marriage with her mlm best friend/biggest foil and has massive Taylor Swift vibes (especially anti hero, last great American dynasty, gold rush, illicit affairs, I Did Something Bad, and champagne problems). It also has a subplot about arson at the White House, ft. an entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters, and has a really satisfying ending!

Also lowkey gives me The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo vibes and, even tho it Destroyed me, i love that book (and the author's a swiftie and dropped a few references here and there). Plus im just trying to read more sapphic stuff bc i get petty at how wlw media gets treated versus mlm lol. Also love that u mentioned 5 of my favourite songs, that's already giving it the best impression to me. Anyway, once again, thank u for sharing🫂!

I honestly don't know how to feel about this race calendar. The summer break is so short?? There's this weird three weeks off at the beginning of the season. They've backloaded the entire thing too much.
I don't know if anyone's asked you this before, but how would you like to see this calendar? (With the weather and distance in mind ofc)
They always seem to try to do this thing where the season slowly ramps up in the beginning, with the back half of the season being more stacked and I guess that it’s in part to build excitement and anticipation (as well as a lot of circuits wanting to be in the latter half or latter quarter of the season)
The 3 weeks off at the start couldn’t really be avoided with the late cancellation of the Chinese GP after other events had already sold tickets to their specific dates.
Realistically I think it’s hard to get a perfect calendar as there’s so many factors at play and logistics plays a big part too and having many geographically close races together would likely cause havoc with the sea kits.
The sea kits usually contain about 60%-75% of the equipment for a F1 weekend, stuff like all the tooling, garage equipment, stuff for the pit wall etc and in the past teams have had 6 sea kits (they might have more now) and pre season these are shipped to the first 6 races of the season and then on from there (so the sea kit from the first flyaway will then go to the seventh, with the second going to the eighth etc)
I don’t like double headers but in some scenarios they are the lesser of two evils, especially when the races are far from the team bases.
It’s not perfect but here's how I would arrange the 23 races of the 2023 season
My main thing is eliminating triple headers and reducing the number of double headers, there’s some races that are really tricky to place, Canada has to be at a time when the circuit has had no snow for a month or two prior, with the middle eastern races you have to be conscious of the timing of Ramadan and there’s probably other influences that I’ve missed, but I’ve also tried to be aware of teams returning to Europe between races.

A paparazzi video goes up online from some Hollywood party. The video is taken from a distance but you can clearly make out Steve when he steps outside to sober up a bit in the cool air.
It’s very clear by the way that he’s moving that he’s a little drunk when he finds a bench to sit down. He takes his glasses off and rubs at his eyes.
Less than a minute later, Eddie wanders outside looking for his husband and finds him. You can see Eddie slide up close to Steve on the bench and put his arm around him.
The video is from too far away to hear what Eddie leans in close to say, but you can clearly see that Steve responds with “sorry, man, I’m married” by the way he gestures to his wedding ring when waving him off.
Eddie says something and Steve blinks at him. He looks surprised for a second and then starts laughing. Eddie laughs too and is still laughing when Steve pulls him in for a kiss.

Now Danny would openly admit, if only to himself, that he had a type when it came to relationships. If they were strong, if they were a threat to him, then chances were he would develop some sort of crush. It was how he had dated Sam and Valerie (And Johnny & Kitty) when he was a bit younger, and hell, Sam had technically succeeded in killing him, even if partly.
Attraction towards smart people who could kill him was honestly par for the course for a Fenton or Nightingale anyway.
And he’d also admit he enjoyed a bit of time travel, learning about times and culture long before his time, to the point that he could blend in in ancient times just as easily as the time he had been born in. That it was natural to mutter in a language lost to time.
So color him surprise when another man perks up in the bar he had paused to get a drink in, vibrant green eyes gleaming in interest and responds in turn. And not just in the language, but able to keep up when he talks about things that once existed but haven’t been rediscovered yet.
And one thing led to the other, and there might have been some assassins and some shenanigans that end with them both laughing together in an inn and then more and- Okay he has a type alright, and he’s ticking each box! How is that fair?
