Mushrooms and humans

Contains: A mushroom person au of Jade Leech, Floyd Leech and Azul Ashengrotto. No ships.

There was a planet far away. Where people were mushrooms and ate bark and meats. There were three very specific boys who were born to this world.

Floyd and Jade Leech, the twins, both Death caps and mischievious. Then there was Azul a violet webcap often teased for his inability to wear his mushroom hat properly as it used to not fit his head, however he had learned very quickly how to make others regret it.

It was a lovely afternoon when Floyd burst into the tree hollow where Azul lived, dragging his twin along. "Azul! Azul! Azul!" Azul sighed, looking up at the tall death cap. "Yes Floyd?" "We got in!! We got into NRC!!" Azul blinked in shock, before he couldn't help his smile cross his face. "Of course we did." the webcap replied, rolling his eyes when Floyd grabbed him and hugged him tightly. "we'll have to wear uniforms though-"

Floyd stared then groaned. "Can't we just wear the normal shawls?" Jade chuckled slightly, placing a hand on his brother's shoulders. "They do things differently on that planet,but I'm sure you'll be able to find a way to make it comfortable" He said with a sharp toothed grin that showed just underneath his mushroom hat.

Azul nodded. "Speaking of how different it is I heard there's people completely unlike us there. They're called humans. I wonder how easy they'll be to get into our business." Floyd tilted his head. "Are they the same humans that the librarian saw?" Jade nodded. "I've heard so." "Well I'm excited to see what they look like! I hope they look as weird and exciting as fish do!"

It was their first day of NRC and they where all seated in the carriage. They had taken potions to appear like humans and freaked out Ink (the librarian.) by mistake when they had gone to ask it if they looked like humans and when they had gotten the confirmation they had packed their things and gone.

"Humans are so weird looking." Floyd muttered, pinching at his now much more round ears. Jade chuckled. "at least we still look somewhat similar and have normal... Legs." Azul gave the more formal leech twin a look. "I hope you won't be spouting such innuendos when we get there. We'll need to get a good reputation for business." Floyd rolled his eyes. "Business this business that i just hope there's someone fun to play with! Hopefully some little spore like humans i can squeeze hehehe" Azul sighed, closing his eyes. "oh hush Floyd. You're being odd again." "Aaaah. Azul is tired already. Well then nighty niight azzzuuul"

It was shortly after they had been awoken from their coffins and the trio where well... Quite shocked. From what they could tell they where the only mushroom folk there. There where humans and beastmen and what they could sense where mer folk but no mushrooms. It was odd.

Azul frowned when Floyd seemed to fixate on a small red-headed human, gently grabbing his hand. "Come along Floyd. Let's try get to know this new environment before we do anything rash now..."

Floyd pouted but didn't pull away. "Neh, you're no fun when you're all business Azul. You're not even commenting on Jade staring at the beastmen!" Azul just groaned. "He's not planning on jumping them first chance he gets. Now let's just listen alright? We'll have time to have fun later i promise." "Fine.."

This is a very specific thing I said to my friends so if they follow your blog then they would know who I am but the whole thing of buy one get two free deal came from something that is common in my country where in local bazaars they sell these showering kits that came with shampoo, conditioner and a bottle of liquid soap my mind clearly infected with twst could only think about the octotrio being one of these packages Azul is the soap, and the twins are the shampoo and conditioner and the three of the products are wrapped with tape so you are forced to get the three which is oddly cute to me but onto the main thing!

Came up with another octotrio polycule idea since yuu represents a shrimp in Floyd's weird lenses of seeing the world sometimes if done intentionally or not you tend to clean up the twins or patch them up even fixing up their (poorly put on) uniform Jade got dirt in his face when he was in a mountain trip? Come here you careless eel and wipe out the dirt then you can talk about your new findings BUT WASH YOUR HANDS FIRST

Floyd decided to do parkour or maybe he just dumped a whole smoothie on himself because he was hot and used the drink to cool off and there you go, disinfect the wounds or scratches and putting silly cute band-aids (one time he got mad that his favorite design was out and you placed a mushroom design band aid since he still needed one, remind yourself to go stack up with the band-aids before Jade goes and sniffles about his dear brother using his favorite band-aids)

I am thinking that since the twins are a bit much more affectionate or aren't as busy as Azul is, you are doing one of your "Nurse/cleaner shirmp" (Floyd gave them the name) on one of the tweels and you guys were in Azul's office so he sighs trying to get attention he wishes that he also got his own nurse/cleaner shirmp affections if he doesn't say it out loud he can and will break his pen/ink flask and oh no! His gloves are completely ruined!! Clearly coaxing you into helping him with the mess or when he does voice his wishes about it when you two/three are present the tweels are quick to tease him about it "I thought that octopuses didn't go to cleaner shrimp stations?" or "Would you be able to provide protection in exchange? I thought that octopuses weren't predators" Okay that was rude, it is on. Of course that he can protect the shrimpy and if octopuses didn't go to cleaner shirmp stations then he would change that! Overall silliness and sweetness (They are having a discussion about planning to surprise you with a visit to the coral sea and going to visit their parents!!) they might turn almost anything into a friendly/loving competition and you are trapped in them but they are still so sweet and caring for you and each other 10/10 definitely a unique dynamic but awesome either way

I think Floyd takes the most delight in seeing you care for them like an actual shrimp. He thinks it's endearing and will definitely make efforts to get dirty or mildly hurt so that you'll attend to him.

The other two have their own nicknames for you: Jade calls you and Azul My Pearl/Darling while Azul calls you Angelfish and the twins Dear(s).

It's Azul's way of showing affection, as he is quite reserved with his affections, at least until you're all in private. He does envy the liberal affections that the twins have with you, Floyd in particular doesn't care much about what others think, and Jade generally is more reserved than his brother, but will still give you chaste kisses when saying hello/goodbye. Azul, at most, will hold hands and maybe tuck a loose strand of hair behind your ears, something he often does during quiet moments.

It may be silly, but he gets a little jealous at seeing y'all share PDA when he's still getting used to the new dynamic. So he's coaxing you to come help him clean up! Look at his hands, they're absolutely stained with ink! Won't you please help him clean up Angelfish? 🥺

It backfires as the twins also take the opportunity to “care” for Azul. Instead of letting you fuss over him quickly, they decide that this is a sign that he's much too tired to continue working, look at the mess he made! It's time to close his office early and cuddle pile in his bedroom!! Jade's making the extra effort to run a bath in the absurdly large tub in Azul's private bathroom, while Floyd is running around collecting pillows and blankets to make a nest/fort. You do your do diligence and help Jade tend to him, causing him to get more and more flustered.

The night ends with the twins teasing the silly little octopus for wanting some tending from the shrimp. They're complaining that he never asks for affection like that from them!!! Eels can be gentle too, we promise Azul~

Sometimes I like to think about having a sleepover with the octotrio, I just know it would be chaotic and fun! Any thoughts?

floyd wants to have a pillow fight, azul is trying to read a book, and jade is chuckling politely while suggesting you all stargaze sigh

im convinced that once they get settled down and fall asleep, floyd's going to cling to one of you. he's usually grabby when he's awake so yeah.

azul curls up into a tiny little ball and hodls his blanket close to his chest.

jade sleeps on his back with his hands clasped over his stomach. he smiles in his sleep.

i can clearly picture you and azul doing skincare while floyd whines about how boring it is as he flings a face mask at the back of azul's head. it ends up hitting jade in the face.

azul having to remind jade and floyd that just because you yawned doesn't mean you're in love with them (or are you wink wink)

waking up the next morning to azul arguing with them in hushed voice over what they should make for breakfast for you. you know, to repay you for allowing them to stay over at ramshackle.

jade wants to make an omelet with mushrooms in it that he handpicked all by himself!! azul wants to make you a niiiice-

uh oh, floyd snuck away to the kitchen and is currently making you breakfast all on his own! damn it, he beat them to it!!

Azul Ashengrotto was the type to initiate, to pursue, to lead. But now after graduating from Night Raven College years later, here he was...

Folding up today's laundry in his lavender colored pajamas. Seated comfortably on the couch with the TV playing some reality show he had grown interested in over the past month.

He pushed his glasses up onto the bridge of his nose with a sigh. When the two of you got married, he expected the roles to be reversed. Having you walking around in an apron, your pajamas, and slippers. You would be cooking, cleaning, spending your days in comfort and leisure as he brought home gifts for your hard work alone at home... But here he was.

Azul Ashengrotto didn't hate the turn of events.

Folding your clothes neatly as he watched TV, preparing your favorite dishes, cleaning and maintaining your cozy shared space. His reward was your happy expression when you returned from a long shift of work. He wouldn't admit that when you came home with a gift it made his heart flutter. You were so thoughtful. Even after working so hard, he was on your mind. "Maybe that's what happens after eight years of marriage?" He muttered as his eyes glanced up in thought, setting aside a neat stack of your clothes into the laundry basket.

He listened to the familiar jingle of your keys in the doors lock, causing Azul to straighten up in surprise. You were home from work early? He moved to stand with arms crossed over his waist. As you entered your shared space, he smiled mischievously, adjusting his glasses with his other hand. "Home early? Why is that? Could you not stand the part of us separated any longer?" The corners of his mouth tugged into an even bigger smile. "That's to be expected with how hard I've been working while you've been out. Now, hurry and come in. I'll get the bath ready."

Jade Leech

Jade eyed over the burned pan filled with what once was veggie stir fry. It had been reduced to nothing but ash and blackened stone. The smell was growing unbearable as Jade threw open a window and grabbed the disaster from the heated stove top. His expression was melancholic due to the fact he lost a few of his prized mushrooms to the disaster and dinner was ruined moments before you were due to return. Jade wasn't sure how this had happened. He had stepped away only for a second to get the bath ready for when you came back home. Was he really that deep in thought? It felt as if only seconds had passed as he kneeled at the edge of the tub to run the warm water.

Maybe it had been quite some time since he's visited the sea. He dreamed of the ocean when it was warm enough to swim through with Floyd as he rolled up his sleeves to dangle his hand into the water. He's usually in your shared home attending to the household matters while you were away with work. Perhaps it was loneliness leading him to stare off into the foamy bubbles of the bath, dreaming of one day showing you the wonders of the blue seas. He reminisced the days of when the two of you attended Night Raven College when he first felt the bloom of fascination he had not once felt before that day. The strange being from another world, how you fascinated him still even years later. He had you all to himself. Your hand in marriage, but still...

He was alone in the house you shared.

The jingle of keys alerted him into action. He would have to quickly prepare something else for dinner and apologize for the wait as you soaked in the bath. He left the pan in the sink with the silent promise to return. Jade watched you enter the home with a smile on your face and a greeting he never knew how badly he longed to hear. Like a puppet on strings he was drawn to you, long arms wrapping around you as he silently breathed in your scent. "Welcome home..." He whispered, melting against you as you reciprocated the contact.

Floyd Leech

"Ahhhhh... I'm bored." Floyd scowled as he stared down at the oven with a scowl. The food still wasn't finished and you would be home in about twenty minutes. "Shrimpy... Maybe I should get pizza? I haven't done Shrimpy's clothes yet either." He murmured, and moved to sit on the floor. He had only cleaned up the bedroom you shared, making the bed, tidying up the bathroom, Floyd even scrubbed all the windows! But that was all he found himself doing that would be labeled productive. He had fallen victim to another 'mood' as everyone around him called it. He walked around your shared space, admiring the way you both had worked to make it cozy and comfortable. Picture frames, matching shoes, the toothbrushes in the same cup Floyd would cheekily nudge together so the bristles would touch. It was if they were kissing.

All for just the two of you.

How time flew while he was having fun savoring the memories you made together. From the fateful day he dubbed you his precious 'Shrimpy' up until the day he silently pushed a ring onto your finger in the darkness of your shared room, hair and skin dripping wet from the fresh shower the two of you shared. You had joked about how nonchalant Floyd was over the big change in relationship status, but he only shrugged and smiled. It was better to do things as you always have. Now it was just official that you were a pair. He didn't react as you came into the shared space from work, only calling out a flat 'welcome home' from his spot in the kitchen. "Food ain't done. Sorry." He apologized, refusing to meet your gaze as you entered the kitchen. He felt unusually guilty. "I haven't started a bath either..." He trailed off as you placed a hand on his head, combing gently through teal colored locks. "Hmm? Petting me even though I didn't finish my chores? You're so nice Shrimpy." He cooed and slowly rose to his feet. "It won't take much longer for dinner. Let me apologize with a shower." He laughed as his sharp teeth appeared on display. "Why the confused face? Isn't it obvious?" Floyd tugged at his shirt, pulling it over his head as he reached for your work clothes.

"Let's shower together, just like the day we got married."

Twisted Earth Part Three

Summary: Octavinelle/Savannaclaw x gn!reader. They're real, you're the game.

A/N:The people have spoken! I'm so happy you guys like these 🥺 I got these two requests, plus one other that included Savannaclaw all within the course of three hours of eachother. Also! Thank you guys for 800 followers!

He downloaded the game after it started to gain popularity. He was doing research, because as it was making its rounds around NRC, he realized he could have a themed night in the lounge, and make the big bucks.

He plays it between clients in the VIP room. Once the room is empty, he'll subtly pull out his phone under his desk. If Jade or Floyd come back in unexpectedly, he'll be like, "What?!? I'm not doing anything!" And throw his phone. ( The twins do it on purpose now, they think it's hysterical)

He corners the market on merch. The devs don't really release their own merch, so he's making the big money! But it's all under the table. No one but the twins know that Octavinelle is the leading producer of Twisted Earth Merch. (They have Tshirt making parties when stock is low. It's so wholesome)

He likes you a lot. He likes that you're a flawed character. You're not perfect. And because of this, he thinks you'd help heal his broken parts. For now, he'll live vicariously through the game…but if a certain horned fae were to request a contract that would help bring you to life, he'd be hard pressed to refuse.

He has terrible luck. He has put real money in the game and still never gotten any of your cards. It's infuriating.

He downloaded it because it looked fun. But he gets bored quickly, so he only plays every couple of months. (This is usually when he over hears someone talking about how they love you, and he gets angry that someone would try to steal his shrimpy, so he rage plays for a week)

Has incredible luck. He'll do a single pull, and get the card he wants. Then he won't even take care of it. It just sits in his collection. Again, infuriating.

Has a t-shirt of you, but it's literally just a meme about you that someone put on a Tshirt. It's so cursed, but he loves it.

You look so squishy! And he bets you'd be so short compared to him if you were real! And if not, he could climb you like a bean pole! He wants to squeeze you so bad! You'd let him if you were real, right? And you wouldn't let anyone else squeeze you? Cause that would be very mean.

Destroyed his phone when that one character admitted they were in love with you…. He's only allowed to play under supervision now.

He's a scientist, first and foremost. If all the school is interested in something, it's his job to play it, and find out why. Honestly, he's probably the one who suggested a themed night to Azul.

He finds you fascinating. If you were real, he'd probably just watch you. He doesn't need to interact, he just wants to see what you're doing. Rewards you for good choices with a custom made terrarium.

He named one of his mushrooms after you, which is the highest honor he can bestow. (You can't tell me he doesn't name his mushrooms) One time, Floyd was ready to throw all the terrariums out in a rage, but finding out one was named after you (but not being told which one) he left them alone.

He has decent luck. But he doesn't have to focus super hard on his collection, since he can just use Floyd's.

(He believes he'd just watch you if you were real, but after that character admitted they loved you, he went on a six hour rage hike.)

He got tired of getting ads for it, so he downloaded it to make fun of it. Then his eyes met yours and…..well, you get it.

He won't ever admit how much light the game brings to him. But sometimes when Ruggie wakes him up, and he logs into the game, he can make out the softest smile on Leona's face when you greet him.

He very heavily debated getting a body pillow. He knew he'd use it too, because of how often he cuddles his pillows at nap time. But he could never pull the trigger. He thought it would be too far.

He likes to think that you would care about him, not his title or his magic, him. And in turn, he would spoil you like you deserve to be. You'd want for nothing, just be his cuddle buddy for a few minutes longer.

He has the SSR basic card for every character except you. He has all your regular cards, sure. But no matter how many hundreds and thousands of pulls he does, you just won't come home. Not that he cares. Gacha is a stupid system anyway.

He rarely has the time to play. Honestly, he doesn't even really play at all. It sits on his phone, and is never opened. But he makes up for it by watching videos online, checking out fan forums, and reading fan fictions and theories.

He didn't even get to meet your character in the game before he got too busy to play. But he read a fanfic called y/n x workaholic reader, where you helped the reader with their work, and then pampered them afterwards. He loved you ever since.

He doesn't think merch is a good use of his hard earned money. But should he ever strike gold, there is one plushie he has his eyes on that he would love to just squish all day.

At this point, he's read so many fanfics, that he's pretty sure he wouldn't actually enjoy the canon story. But he'll leave it on his phone for now. He can't bring himself to delete it.

Downloaded it when he heard all the Savannahlaw guys going on and on about their favorite characters. He wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Surely, every character couldn't possibly be…oh. Oh yeah every one of them is very pretty.

But he finds you the prettiest. He isn't sure why. Maybe it's that glint in your eyes, or the way your hair sits just the way he likes it, or the jacket your character wears. He doesn't know what it is. But you're the prettiest to him.

He won't spend money on this. He thinks it would be a waste. So he's lucky that he has two of your SSR cards. And both of them have stories where you persevere and show everyone you are stronger than you look, physically and emotionally. It just proves that he was right to pick you.

For some reason, he always imagines how things would be if you were real. He'd want to have soft domestic moments with you. Maybe you'd both brush each other's hair. Maybe you'd cook together. Maybe you'd do chores in the same room. He imagines you two could say very little, and be happy that you are both just in each other's company.

Imagine when you transport into the Twisted Wonderland world your just an dwarf-octopus hybrid

And when you see Leona, Ruggie, and Jack you think this is normal

So when you go to the monstro lounge and just randomly turn into this mini octopus they’re reeling

“W-what?! A-are you making fun of me?!”

“What?!”

“Awww~ Shrimpy-chan is actually dwarfy-chan!? So cute.”

“Oh my, isn’t this interesting?”

Everyone’s surprised but the Octotrio are the most excited

Azul’s having a crisis because he doesn’t know what that mean

But he’s actually really happy

Even when everyone gasps and is kind of scared you still change into your dwarf state and he loves that

Like you just change and cling onto the people you like and he admires your confidence

When he revealed that he was an octupos-mer you seemed even more inclined to befriend

“OMG we’re octo-buddies!!!”

It really helps with his self-love

Plus your really adorable in your octopus state

Sitting in his lap or clinging to his shoulder

He falls into a rhythm petting you while he counts his earnings or looks over his contracts

He gets really sad when he finds he’s petting air rather than your head

And he’s not above seeking you out to fix that

Floyd and Jade are having a field day

More so Floyd than Jade he’s happily parading you around

On his head, on his shoulder, on his face, in his hands, in his mouth

He wants to take you everywhere

This translates into your human form

He still picks you up and carries you around like nothings changed

He loves this so much

Jade is more lowkey

He’ll let you hang on him, being mindful of you when he’s moving too much

But I can see him being more upfront about his questions as a dwarf octopus

Enjoying listening to you talk while he fiddles with mushrooms and rocks that he’s found

Now when other people start to discover how cute you are or just keeping you to enjoy your company

They aren’t too pleased

“It's been a while since you’ve been to the Monstro lounge..everything okay?”

“Yeah I’m just hanging out with all my friends.”

“Oh is that so…”

Jade’s the first to really realize how the excitement of your kindred spirits is waning and he doesn’t like it

Azul realizes as well but he’s still too timid to keep you with him

Floyd isn’t though

The eel has no problem throwing you over his shoulder after crashing Riddle’s tea-date with you

Or dragging you out of your bed at the midnight hours to carry you to Octavinelle

“Oi oi, kobe-chan you can’t keep dwarfy all to yourself!”

“Oh!” “HEY!! PUT THEM DOWN THIS INSTANT!!”

“Fu-fu, no.”

Azul is slower to get on the train because your just so confident in yourself

And in a twisted way he rationalizes that every octopus should spend some time closed up

And your time should be now

So when your plopped into a really fancy little tank you start freaking out a little

They’ll let you change back but your only allowed to be less than an arms length from one of them at all times

“Where ya going Dwarfy-chan?”

“B-back to my dorm…I’ve spent the whole week with you guys and I’m sure Grim is worried and–”

“No worries, I’ll let him know when I pick up your stuff.”

“W-what?! Wait-”

“ Now about that, can you sign this just so Jade can peacefully retrieve your stuff.”

“Peacefully?! You weren’t going to-”

“It's just a precaution really, a trifle; you'll sign won’t you?”

~ he's only interested because he's glad there's finally someone around that understands hyperfixating like he does

~ jade absolutely hyperfixates on mushrooms and so there's a mutual understanding between you two

~ he's not as excitable and in your face about his hyperfixation but it's certainly there

~ you both tend to info dump on the other because neither of you really mind and you understand

~ you both go out of your way to indulge in the other's fixation

~ jade won't admit it aloud but he loves when you go on hikes with him and help him search for mushrooms or knowledge of them

~ in return, he goes out of his way to try and show you various sea dwellers, such as taking you to beaches or storing them in octavinelle for your visits

~ of course, nothing that would outright kill you if it was near you but... some have gotten pretty close

~ hyperfixation solidarity

Floyd Leech

~ i can't see him caring much at first tbh

~ he probably wouldn't even remember, he'd hear it, and then it's already gone from his mind moments later

~ but having a fixation on sea creatures probably helps you remember who his nicknames are for because you can actually recognize the traits he's lined up with people

~ that catches his attention because, really, the only one who can keep up with his nicknames is jade

~ he had an entire moment when he found out where he just got all giggly and started listing off his nicknames for people and you would answer with the person he was referring to

~ you become a lot more interesting to him after that, now whenever you bring up your surplus of knowledge, he doesn't quite pay attention to it but he does acknowledge it

~ you have full reign to make a joke about how you should start cleaning his teeth since he calls you shrimpy

~ he will take it as an invitation and jade will get involved and you will now be tasked with brushing the teeth of two eels

I have many stupid Floyd headcanons/scenarios, but this is my current, unbelievably stupid favorite.

The tweels are both big eaters, right? However, Jade seems to somehow always eat more. Are their appetites different? Or, maybe Jade is more focused while eating?

In truth, Floyd never manages to eat as much as his brother--in fact, he probably barely ever manages to finish his meals--because he's too busy playing with his food.

Imagine the octotrio in the cafeteria.

Azul is trying to very slowly chew and *savor* every bite of... whatever gross health food he's currently pretending to enjoy.

Jade is smiling serenely while industrially plowing his way through his seventh or eighth serving of spaghetti with mushroom sauce, a stack of empty bowls piling up in front of him.

Floyd? Floyd just can't eat normally. Floyd has to balance ever single French fry on his nose before he eats it. Floyd has to use his fork as a slingshot to launch individual meatballs in the air, and attempt to catch them in his mouth, (missing about 1/3rd of the time, to the annoyance of his fellow diners).

Floyd needs to construct an accurate diorama of the Night Raven College campus out of hamburg steak and mashed potatoes on his lunch tray before eating. With broccoli and asparagus for trees, alfalfa sprouts for grass, and savory broth for the rivers and ocean.

The bell has long since rung at this point. The cafeteria is basically empty at this point. Azul and Jade know, by now, the futility of interrupting Floyd's artistic vision.

It's just Floyd, putting the finishing touches on the NRC castle, made out of breadsticks. Epel is also there helping carve carrot sticks into the likeness of the Main Street statues. Cater is livestreaming this to magicam for posterity, and Sebek is in the background with one trembling hand pointing a finger, his mouth hanging open in awe, as he watches this all unfold.

Eventually, Crowley barges in, attempting to get mad about these shenanigans. But then he ends up crying over his precious students' display of creativity and school spirit. Crowley ends up trying to build a little wall around the diorama to preserve it until RSA visits for some inter-school function next week, so he can rub Ambrose's nose in it (maybe literally?)

The ghost chefs beg him not to, claiming this is an absolute violation of the Sages Island health code, to no avail.

Meanwhile Floyd shows up 45 minutes late for class, seeming very happy. Asking in a whisper, does Shrimpy have any tasty snacks they feel like sharing today?

Yuu (a gremlin): Uhh sure! I have these dinosaur nuggets I shoved in my pocket yesterday!

Floyd: Shrimpy. What in Twisted Wonderland are dinosaur nuggets?

Trein's class ends up getting hijacked as Yuu excitedly explains Earth prehistory, and Floyd convinces everybody to shove all the desks together and build an epic Triassic diorama out of stale dinosaur nuggets and random school supplies.

Azul

He wouldn't have guessed you could breathe underwater without magic until you showed him one day. You also suggested visiting his home during the break, which he would've wholeheartedly supported had it not been for his self-esteem issues

He thinks he looks hideous in his merform, but that insecurity was something you could relate to. Whenever you visited your mother, who was a mermaid, you could feel the stares of other merfolk and the whispers about your identity from your classmates. You didn't feel like you belonged on land nor under the sea. That was why when you met Azul, you understood his position and if anything helped him heal from his old scars. He also made a promise to help you in your journey of self-healing as well

The two of you probably don't go underwater often because of schoolwork but also because you two don't really like going back home. However, it is a bit fun to race from time to time (though he always loses)

I feel like he would be really chill with your status as a half merperson. He thinks it's something you should be proud of and not ashamed of at all. If anything, he loves you for who you are. Besides, you're the best of both worlds!

Jade

He thought you were completely human because of your vast knowledge in above-the-sea nature. However, you surprised him when you chased him underwater when trying to get Ace and Deuce's contracts removed haha

He doesn't have any issues with you being half-human, he's just a very curious person and will ask a lot of questions. How is it like being able to breathe underwater but not having the form of a merperson? How did your parents meet? Things like that. Let him know if the questions are awkward though since he doesn't want to seem insincere

The two of you probably spend more time above water because he likes the land more than the sea. He'll often take you on walks and you two probably go mushroom hunting together. It's a lot of just calm fun. However, if you ever decide to visit him back in your hometown he'll gladly accept

Similar to Azul he loves you for who you are. Whoever tries to hurt you for your identity will end up getting scared off by Jade (or worse they could get beat up). He's a bit protective of you, so expect an arm around your waist during most walks

Floyd

Pushed you into a lake for fun but realized you weren't coming out of the water after a long time. He started to get worried but when he dived in he saw you just sitting in there and like waiting to scare him back. "YOU CAN BREATHE?!" he probably shouts and you laugh while nodding

He thinks it's really cool that you can be both human and merperson at the same time, though he would've thought it would be cool to see you in a merform. However he still loves you for who you are, and if you can breathe underwater that means you two can race in the sea as well

Floyd is more of a water person than his brother, so you two might have swim dates a lot. The school isn't that far from a seashore so you two might hang out around there a lot. He likes to take you on fast swims or just sit in the water with you while talking. It's a nice calm feeling. However, the two of you might also enjoy playing basketball together, which he always gets competitive about and you two usually bet buying each other dinner haha

Similar to Jade he's a bit protective. Anyone who tries to make fun of you for being half merperson will likely get squeezed :/. Just know that he truly loves you for who you are and thinks you're amazing. Who knows, he'll probably invite you over to his place over the break!

I really love your rock musician MC headcanons. Now I would like to imagine what would happen if the rest of the Yandere boys find out about their secret hobby. I imagined that MC is passionate about their music and wants to make it big as an alt rock singer one day but they feel like they aren’t ready to show their talent to anyone. One scenario I could think of is when the Octotrio heard them singing passionately in the night at Ramshackle and they offer them to sing at the lounge since they became entranced by MC’s voice. Azul I imagined must be interested in taking away MCs voice, Jade intrigued that the shy MC he knew secretly loves punk rock music while Floyd is just excited about Shrimpy’s little hobby. Another one is when Cater took notice of their musical talent and records it. Then offers MC to join the light music club or something.

its a funny story on how they found out that you could sing.

Jade was going through the wood by the Ramshackle, looking for mushrooms and heard a sweet melody.

eels are very curious. well most importantly, this one is. He's smart enough to know to sneak and be caution on where he steps to not scare off this adorable, sweet, poorly-guarded song bird. He's grateful for being quiet.

Jade Leech found you. You were on the back porch, singing your heart out and occasionally stopping to write something down.

He was half tempted to just keep you to himself but knowing azul and Floyd, they will find out eventually. so he'll have been chances with sharing you than keeping you hinted.

He is over the moon to finding out you could sing. so many possibilities form in his head.

a part of him wants you to keep your voice but another part wants to take it away.

he could take your voice for another person who will pay anything for a performer's voice and milk them dried until they are begging to get their original voice back. i mean, having fame isn't a walk in the park.

anything could happen to you if you became a star! it'll start pleasant. sweet comments and cheers for your amazing hard work and performance. then... it'll get creepy and concerning. like strange comments coming up and saying some unsettling things about you, "what would you be like when you scream?" Awful heartless rumors start. "they probably sleep around for that fame." "they aren't really that good." "we all know why and how they have everything. lets just face it." hateful messages, death threats, very mean people will bully you to come running to Azul begging to take your voice away.

You don't want to be a star anymore! please take my voice away!!!

plus if you were the performer, everyone will have eyes on you like you were fresh kill in shark water.

he wont let that that happen to you again. but he doesn't mind others going through that.

so with this deal, you'll have your voice taken and you will be his play thing, you'd be at his mercy.

since your voice is gone, you'll have to act or write down what you want/need. but the think about Azul is that he loves his control over you. if you need something you better show him. don't forget to show him how grateful you are to him.

yes, it was his deal to take your voice and take care of you but its nice to show him how thankful you are to him.

when jade told Azul about his discovery, he demanded that he has first say on what will they do with you. he was the one that found you and that is fair. of course the other two will get their turn but he just gets you first. its only fair~

lets be honest, jade is sadistic. he'd wants you to struggle a little, with a voice like yours, he doesn't want you to stop talking so maybe he'll put you under a spell? like one that makes you repeat stuff like an echo? or maybe a spell that makes you speak in riddles? imagine all the pretty lines you say.

he would love to play with you for either one of those chooses.

if he picked the echo, he'll probably trick you to saying stuff you would never say. like how he's your favorite or that you hate the others. he would love to have you beside him, with your friends and you repeat some hurtful likes to the people you hold so dear. watching them leave as you look at him and them and him again. even who you cant say what actually on your mind, your eyes say other wise. your eyes, plead, begging him to say something to have your friends come back. to tell them its not true and you love and care for them so much. only to stare at his grin, watching your friends leaving you alone with him.

if he picked the riddles, he would love to have you on his nature trips. alone with his mushrooms fan, he would love to hear you describe mushrooms with that pretty little tongue of yours. but what's the catch? why would you help him with his weird mushroom obsessions. well maybe he'll help you with something else? if you help him, he'll give back your voice and let you sing your heart out like you were a bird being set free. will he give it back? no. he'll come up with an excuse and say "cause you need pronounces it right" Jade will also give you that stupid grin when he's knows that you have little to no control in his situation but still loves playing these games with you.

whatever he chooses, he'll write it down in a journal. "Little Pearl lines" he would want to forget your lovely lines.

he'll journal you like you were a mysterious creature that needed to be studied. i mean, with a spell that makes you tell riddles, you'll be speaking poetry at that point.

you'll be like his little pet. he does love the control aspect of all of this.

he was not happy that he was the last one to get to you but oh boy would he make it worth it.

to be completely honest, he didn't really care about it in the beginning. it was pretty boring to him at first. like so what? you can sing. everyone can sing, its just wheatear you are good at it or not. but even if you were, its not as exciting as hearing, for example, you can fight and you did fight clubs. it was a boring hobby, to Floyd at least.

but oh boy did that change when he hear you! and you know how to play an instrument, you just nailed your coffin. he would want you to play for him and watch him dance.

"this is how i did it back in the coral reef but on land its a little difficult, hehe~"

when he isn't in the mood and just wants you to sing for him, he doesn't care what you're doing. he will find you and will make you sing for him. in the middle of class? apparently the headmaster needs you. you're eating lunch with your friends? he'll just come up and carry you away. oh! if you're hiding/avoiding/telling your friends to help you to stay away from him? oh... good luck.

how he treats you compared to the other two is somewhat normal, well as normal as Floyd's moods can be, but- don't you dare even talking to anyone. your voice is too good for anyone to just hear you speak. plus you cant share all the stuff he warned you about.

don't worry, he'll speak for you. why should you let him do this?

if you don't follow this one tiny rule? let say, he doesn't want to hurt your throat but he'll gladly rip out the other person's throat. he wont mind either. he'll even have you watch. he'll also have you clean him up after wards, its not his fault that this happened. it was all your fault, if only you didn't open your mouth, telling people about your little secrets.

Floyd is many things, unpredictable, sadistic, but he's also not-human. Untamable. he would want to hear your voice in more intimate ways. he won't care when or where you are, he will find you and hear your voice.

What about a third version of Camp Vargas, but this time, both the Sports and Cultural clubs participate?

The setup remains the same, both with the challenges and the teams (as well as the crazy teacher), though there are a few changes.

With Malleus present, Leona is sufficiently motivated to crush the competition, so neither of them gets kidnapped early on (Spelldrive club is kind of worried with this rivalry). Vargas still recruits Lillia, though.

Idia, Ace, Deuce and Ortho do end up missing again.

Jamil is NOT having a good time with Floyd, but at least Kalim has the light music club with him.

Floyd is trying to stay as far away from Jade as possible. He doesn't want to deal with mushrooms.

The biggest change, however, is when the monster shows up at night. After the attack on the camp, the remaining players include:

- Trey, who has lost his entire dorm and club.

- Leona, Ruggie and Jack.

- The entire Octotrio, currently annoyed at being threathened.

- Vil, who lost Rook and Epel.

- Malleus and Sebek, who lost Lillia and Silver.

- Rip Scarabia and Ignihyde.

You see, the third years are VERY protective of their freshmen, so much that Vil, Trey and Leona literally went to a haunted park to protect them. And they just saw all of their students screaming in terror while being hunted like animals, so they are furious.

It's not a game of survival anymore, it's monster deer hunting season, featuring an angry dragon and a few annoyed older siblings.

Trey almost turned Vargas's blood into Maple syrup. And started chasing him with a giant toothbrush.

a/n: thank god for denny’s for the inspiration ong i’ve seen insane stuff from there and also this follows no rules. you will read this and it will make sense.

“Okay, you three, listen up.”

“Yeah, hold on, octopus, I’m beating Floyd’s ass at table football right now and he’s about to take on my extra shift tomorrow if I win.”

Azul groaned, his fingers pressing the bridge of his glasses against his nose. From the pressure, he guessed that he was going to have a mark there once he took them off. He was your boss and yet sometimes he wondered if you weren’t actually the boss. Maybe he was too lenient. Either way, it was more often than not that you and Floyd would quite literally be a menace to the customers based on your “friendly” competitions.

Out of all your competitions, the most friendly one was when Floyd resulted in almost pouring hot oil over you and you had quickly grabbed a pan to hit the back of his head. Meanwhile, Jade had been outside collecting mushrooms. He came back to see you and Floyd doing a strange dance with angry looks on your faces, knives in your hands, and Azul almost crying out of exasperation and desperation.

Nevertheless, the competition had not escalated that far. It was merely 8 pm, though. Azul guessed that, if anything, it could only get worse from here. He tensed up when he heard Floyd’s loud groan, followed by a large smack on the table.

“I win! Hope that thump didn’t hurt your brain, if you have any bits left in there.” You were snickering as you flicked Floyd’s head. His strand of black hair was lying on the table, so you merely pressed your fingers to it. When he tried to get his head off the table, he was stopped abruptly and he glared at you.

“Shrimpy, this is your last warning.”

“My first one, you mean. You’re covering my shift tomorrow, you little shit.”

“But I don’t wanna!” Floyd whined, turning to Azul. “Tell them I don’t wanna!”

Jade appeared from behind Azul, almost ghostlike. “Oh? I hear conflict.”

“Yeah, conflict because your brother doesn’t want to admit he lost for once and he’s not as good as he claims to be. How are you going to be a basketball player and lose at table football?” You were leaning against the plush seat, your arms crossed. “Anyways, what’s up, Azul? Do you need us to knock out a customer again?”

Floyd perked up. “Oh, oh, yeah! Last time it was a surly man with his best friends, maaaaaan, Y/N and I had the time of our lives! That baking sheet was genius!”

“This is why I’m the brains of the group.” You and Floyd high fived, chortling as though Azul wasn’t standing there, in disbelief at the both of you.

Jade cleared his throat. “Starting today, we stay open 24 hours.”

Incredulously, you whipped around to look at Azul. “If this is a joke, it’s not a funny one, I’ve got a better one for you, Mr. Business Man. What’s funnier than 24?”

Azul had to take a deep breath in. “What.”

“25.” You and Floyd were howling with laughter, sharing yet another high five with a fist bump. Catching your breath, you grinned. “You can’t be serious. We are not staying up for 24 hours.”

He pushed his glasses up, fixing his hat while he was at it. “Your sleeping habits alone are training. You tend to pull all-nighters--”

“Excuse me, being a Discord kitten is hard work. You can’t possibly expect me to count on money here--”

“You are an employee. I expect you to conduct yourself as such.”

You rolled your eyes, huffing. “What does this look like, a Denny’s?”

“YES. Where do you think you’re employed at?!”

“I dunno, IHOP?”

It was like the devil had appeared. Jade’s usual calm face was replaced by his eyes wide and even Floyd winced. IHOP was your rival and it was worse since it was right across the street. The manager was known to arrive just to get on Azul’s last nerve. Azul literally made you sign a contract saying that you and Floyd would be on your best behavior, lest you wind up tap-dancing for three days straight without stopping. You had learned that the hard way.

Even now, you realized you went too far. And that was why you were in the kitchen, fuming with a spatula in your hand, a chef hat, and a neon pink apron that said “Kiss the Cook” across the top part. “Stupid Azul with his stupid...” You were cursing under your breath and the colorful language was enough to make Jade chuckle as he walked in.

“Still grumbling? It’s been weeks since that incident.”

“I look stupid, Jade. And don’t you dare say--” Using a high pitched voice that sounded nothing like him, you said, “’Shouldn’t have brought up the Interdimensional Hut of Pasta, then.’”

“The International House of Pancakes is international for a reason, we can’t possibly compete with them.” Jade had a bag slung over his shoulder and subtly, he looked over his shoulder. “All right Y/n, cover for me, I’m going to go outside and get some mushrooms.”

You made a face at him. “Jade, for the last time, you are not going to be the chef no matter how much you beg Azul.”

“Hear me out--”

“Sorry, can’t hear you over this pancake which I’m sure is trademarked by IHOP. I mean, why are we making pancakes? We’re Denny’s! Shouldn’t we be, you know, making Denny’s?”

Jade deadpanned at you and it took all your effort not to falter because even you knew what you said did not make sense. However, if you could muster up enough fake confidence, maybe you could have him believe it-- “Try again. Ensure Floyd does not eat all the potatoes raw, he tends to do that. And next time, make sure to come up with something that makes sense. It has to be good.”

“That’s what your mom told me last night.” You knew you were running in dangerous territory, but you were covering for Jade. He could not, unfortunately, tell you anything in response. If he said anything, it was more than likely that you would go running to Azul and snitch on his mushrooms in order to gain some sense of dignity back. By dignity, he meant the confiscation of your neon pink apron.

“The pink really brings out your eyes, I’m sure Azul would not mind if you kept it a little longer.” Jade may have looked like the calmer twin, but he had a way of getting on your nerves. He was even snickering under his breath as the door shut behind him.

Meanwhile, Floyd had just arrived in the kitchen. “Shrimpy!”

“If you keep calling me that, I swear to God, I’m going to find out how fried eel tastes.”

“That’s cannibalism, you can’t do that.”

“It’s Denny’s. There was literally a fight outside over a plate of our pancakes.” You flipped one with your spatula, still grumbling over the stupid apron you were wearing. “Besides, business is slow. And ever since Azul said, ‘You guys are working for 24 hours because I hate you--’“

“I’m pretty sure that’s not what he said.”

“How dare you interrupt me. Anyways, I haven’t had time for anything!”

Jade had walked back into the kitchen. It seemed as though, no matter how far he went, he came racing back when he heard you complaining just to tease you more and make your life even more miserable. Sure enough, he practically waltzed through the door and said, “Oh? Well, can we interest you in a truce?”

“Over my dead body. Now if you’ll excuse me, it is my break.”

It seemed as though you had disappeared completely. Floyd had to watch Jade and prevent him from putting mushrooms in the food as he cooked. Then he frowned, looking up. Something was off and it was not the red colored vegetables that Jade continuously kept trying to put in. “It’s been more than ten minutes.”

“Ten minutes and how many seconds?”

“One--”

Azul slammed open the kitchen door, his glasses outrageously bright as if he was a horror movie villain. “Why has no one served the customer at Table 18?”

“Huhhhh?” Floyd dragged out his whine, his head thrown back. “I’m tired of this, boss! It’s so late!”

“Even if it’s late, we will still give the customers good service, just as they expect!”

Jade mumbled, “I do not believe they expect much from us as a Denny’s.”

Azul ignored that statement, knowing full well it was your influence that was latching onto the tweels. “Where’s Y/N? It’s been 10 minutes and 15 seconds. Floyd, there’s literally a customer at that table.”

“That ain’t a customer, boss, that’s Y/N having their nightly 3 am crisis.” Floyd was thoughtful for a few seconds. “Do you think they want pancake puppies?”

Then Azul’s eyes widened as he looked out the window. A familiar shadow was heading their way. It was the enemy that he had not wanted to see for the longest time.
