!! CHAPTER 7 / DIASOMNIA ARC SPOILERS !!

Hey guys I'm awake and well now let's continue (Rook's Dream):

We find ourselves in Savanclaw where we find Savanaclaw Rook and I honestly love him here he looks like a dog I left outside in the rain by accident (affectionate)

Now everone's confused as to why Rook's in Savanaclaw, but then Rook drops the bomb that Vil is in RSA and everyone's like "WHAT?!"

Stop Rook is literally just being the biggest neigevil oshi cuz he just wants Vil and Neige to be besties 😭. He's so open about it too like he's literally geeking about their interviews together to the point that he's squeezing Grim and Epel cuz he got too excited (he's so fr for that honestly). But then Sebek snaps and Rook apologizes because no one in Savanaclaw is a neigevil fan as well :((

But Ortho encourages Rook by wanting to visit his room so that they can learn about Neige and Vil. Grim questions the decision, but that's like the only way they can break Rook out of the dream, and now Rook's just murmuring to himself and how he will introduce them to Vil and Neige

Once they're near Rook's room he literally told them not to barge into his room and the gang did exactly what they're not supposed to do

AND OH MY GOD ROOK'S ROOM IS JUST????

(pov: you're in a neigevil oshi competition but your opponent is rook hunt)

SEBEK THOUGHT THIS WAS A RITUAL ROOM FOR A SECOND AND ROOK IS CURRENTLY LOSING IT 😭😭😭. Apparently Rook has been hiding his hyperfixation for THREE YEARS and he can't just let the group go...until they watch DVDs of neigevil interactions

This went on for five hours and Rook was gushing, sobbing and crying over it, Silver actually slept for the first time in the realm of dreams because of this 💀. Before the group leaves, Epel couldn't help but ask Rook if he still remembers what happened during VDC, an d Rook mentions that he remembers that Vil and Neige performed "Yahoo, Yahoo" together.

The group meets again with Idia, and they're discussing the events of Book 5, and how the entire incident during VDC might have been the root cause for Rook's dream to turn out like this. Because in this dream, Rook never transfers to Pomefiore because Vil was never in NRC to begin with. Rook was most likely haunted by that incident because he trusted Vil so much, that he'd rather have Vil and Neige be friends instead of rivals to prevent the whole overblot situation

SO NOW THE GANG IS THINKING OF A WAY TO WAKE UP ROOK BY PERFORMING ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL

(I REALLY WANT TO SEE THE WHOLE THING YA'LL TO WHOEVER HAS A LINK TO THE RHYTHMIC PLS SEND IT TO MEEEEEE)

But their positions are the following: Vil - Epel Jamil - Ortho Epel - Sebek Kalim - Yuu Ace - Grim Deuce - Silver

Basically Epel had to teach the others the entire choreography of Absolutely Beautiful and he said it's fine if they don't perfect it because in the original they weren't able to perfect it as well. But then everything suddenly goes blurry and we get dream Vil and dream Neige suddenly performing "Yahoo, Yahoo", and now Rook is back to being an oshi again.

But Epel wasn't having it, he points out to Rook that the real Vil looks more sinister and had a more sharper look to him and that he was more poisonous and beautiful. That's when Epel told Rook that he was a far worse traitor back when he voted for RSA if he tells the words that Vil wanted to hear to the fakes.

That wakes Rook up, he remembers everything now because he was wondering why he cried during their Absolutely Beautiful performance. Idia then gives Rook the "invite" to join them as well. Rook changes clothes and fights

Btw I just wanna show you guys his groovy here because it's that special to me

Idia was laughing because he now has a video of Sebek dancing and Sebek is just yelling at him that he won't forgive him if he showed it to anyone.

Surprisingly Rook mastered thew magical girl transformation faster than the gang, but they're learning. Rook also tags along with the gang to save the last person, Vil

Awakening the Dragon : Malleus Draconia Overblot Theme

It's been now one year since Diasomnia Arc, “Ruler of the Abyss“ began...

There so many things, too many topics that I wish to talk and write about. About the tribute to Eyvind Earle's art in the esthetics and ambiance of Briar Valley. About the connections between the Arc narrative and its inspirations. About Night Faeries folk and Silver Owl Knights. About Silver, Malleus, Lilia and all the others characters... For tonight I will write down about Malleus Draconia's Overblot Theme.

When the Diasomnia Arc pre-trailer was released, some notes of Overblot Malleus's theme can be heard. The complet musictrack had been finaly revealed during the first fight against Malleus. Even with the few notes in the pre-trailer, this music really give goosebumps. It is dark, eerie, dangerous and yet graceful and noble.

Diasomnia’s Chapter is an intense turmoil of emotions and, after all that happened in the Main Story so far, I realized that Malleus Overblot's theme not just represent the Arc's climax like it had being the case for the six previous Chapter. Not just only about an epic battle music, but also about a character.

[Beware : the following post content some spoilers for Chapter 7 : Ruler of the Abyss]

Featuring song and music

There is something about Malleus and music.

In his personal data, it's say that his “talent“ is stringed instruments's practice (ref. Twisted Wonderland : Magical Archives and in game data). According to his close relatives, such as Sebek during “Harveston's Kelkkarotu“ event, Malleus appear to be a really talented musician. And yet that aspect of Malleus wasn't fully explored in the Main, Events and Personals Stories. That was just a fun fact about Malleus's hobbies outside school or his daily royal duties.

Then came the performance of Malleus longside Idia and Azul during the Symphorium in the Halloween event Glorious Mascarade : Crimson Flowers and Bell of Salvation.

It's could be logical since Diasomnia Arc and Mascrade's events released their preview trailers around the same time. But nothing could make us suspected how much deep of that aspect of Malleus's character design is important. Not just as for characterization but also a tribute from Sleeping Beauty.

But to go with Chapter 7 and the Overblot's theme, let's return to the Symphorium, during its preparation as presented in Malleus's Mascaquerade Dress Personal Story [link]. Glorious Mascarade's iconic song Let My Wish Resound ( Twst wiki's traduction [link] ), is the gift of Night Raven College's students to the invitation for Night Bell College's Symphonium and its three main singer featuring Azul Ashengrotto, Idia Shroud and of course Malleus Draconia. In Malleus's Personnal Story, the trio are gather in Diasomnia Lounge for practicing. Both Idia and Azul (and even Lilia), are amaze about Malleus's singing skills. Not just because of his tense practicing, even outside his royal education as confirm Lilia to Idia. If Let My Wish Resound had a special signification for Malleus and his character (his desire and fear about connect with the Outside World and meeting other peoples), the fact that such song, and by extension the music, resound deep within Malleus.

In Chapter 7, that particular bond between Malleus and music/song is once again up under the lightspot, and even become an major element of the narrative. Just after he took his Overblot's form and cast [Fea of Maleficent] on everyone, Malleus start to humming a lullaby. The medley is the one of Once upon a Dream, Sleeping Beauty's famous and iconic song. There is many things that need to be discussed about that familiar medley and Malleus's story and personal journey and I will in the futur write a proper and complet review about. For now, we can notice that reference make not only as a tribute to the original animated pictures movie but also to Malleus's paradoxe as a character in that very sequence, and, even if it is more subtle, in the rest of the story. Indeed he is now a Dark Fea Lord, becoming in a way Maleficient just like Riddle with the Queen of Heart or Vil with the Beautiful Queen. And yet there is that lullaby medley, that medley which took after Princess Aurora's song. Malleus is depicted as both Light and Darkness, an impression that can be found in his Overblot theme.

The Choir and the Cello, picturing a story

There is two main musical elements in Overblot Malleus' track. The Choir and the Cello.

If is true that in the previous Overblot’s theme, a kinda choir is used in the medley, but its seems to have for fonction to put some extra more tension in the music like we can see in many soundtrack from cinema or video-game, but in the others Overbolt's theme, the choirs doesn't lead the medley. The instrumental instruments does.

But that was before Vil's Overblot and Mascarade Event’s theme, where the chorus and choir became the main leading of the music. In a kinda latin language with Dies Irea's leitmotif, choir become the medley's core and identity.

In popular culture, the choir is generally used as reference to Medieval Age’s music and its esthetics, real or dreamed . From Historical productions such as in Kingdom of Heaven (a Historical Movie setting during the early years of the Crusades) to Fantasy realms Lord of the Rings’s trilogy, we can tell that kinda of music had a special power to increase emotions and ambiance in a song.

In Overblot Malleus's theme, the choir became an extension of the Dragon-Fea’s power and personality. Giving to his character so much strength and presence, just like with Davy Jones's organ and it make a tribute to Sleeping Beauty’s soundtrack. One of the particularity of this Classic Disney Animation Picture, it's one of the very few movie from Disney's Silver Age, than doesn't have song like we see it in Cinderella or in Alice in Wonderland. As explained by cinema historian, Charles Solomo, in the documentary Picture Perfect: The Making of Sleeping Beauty [link], those kind of “Broadway like song“ doesn't fit to that world made of the gorgeous detailed background designed by Eyvind Earl or the music score inspired by Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty Ballet. Only songs in the movie are Once upon a Dream and choirs. Theses ones can be found in several track in the score. One of them, “Aurora's Return/Maleficent's Evil Spell“, is in my opinion, one of most powerful and representative of that directive for Sleeping Beauty's music. At one point of track a eerie and dark voice can be heard and as its materialize Maleficent's presence when Aurora is hypnotize by the curse.

Those choir segments supporting the narrative and characterizing each protagonists. Just like it's happen with Malleus's Overblot theme !

In Malleus's Overblot theme, alongside the choir, the second main leading instrument is the cello. The using of that particular string instruments in the track make a easter egg to both Malleus’s personal talents as to Diasomnia Dorm's music theme.

Cello, as other stringed instruments, are very often used in movie, video-game or musical composition because of a rich palette of tones and sounds that those musicals instruments can create and so increase emotions. Notes created by cellos are know to be rich and deep, and how depending how it played, it can express joy and light ambiance as epic, nostalgic world, mysteries or tension and terror.

The slight presence electric guitar (recurring in the Overblot music track) give an extra sensation of danger and tension in the medley, but without shadowing the leading of the chorus and the cello. It sound like lightings bolts, and each time the electric guitar is heard it increase choir's powers in the narrative of the medley with attacking notes. Giving the feeling that we are caught into a storm.

Conjuring the Dragon

As we start listening Malleus Overblot's theme, we fall into some dark or gothic fey world, more that Diasomnia Dorm's. Despite the presence of a electric guitar sound, the music had the same feels as Maleficent's themes from Sleeping Beauty. In fact the very first notes are very similars or at least sharing the same tones than some of Maleficent's leitmotif in “Aurora's Return/Maleficent's Evil Spell“ or in her music entrance.

The musictrack is divise in five segments. First, it start with a very aery voice sound, as we can found in mysterious or dark music track and then the storms began, leading by the choir. With the cello and the electric guitar, its give at that moment (and is reinforce in game by the image of Malleus in his Overblot form), that we are facing some kind of powerful Lord or a Dark Dragon. Malleus had a very complex personality and as far we know, at his core, ins't a evil character. But he is a Dragon-Fea and he had dark powers. If someone put in danger the persons he will care about (friends, family...), he will riposte with all his might and once of thoses times where Malleus's powers are show as dangerous and dark because its are beyond mortal understanding and standard, not as evil. It's true that consequences of some Malleus's actions are terrifying because of his non-human nature and can show him as the Dragon, the most dangerous foe of tales and legends, as the storm parts of the Overblot music despict it.

And at the middle of the music track, just between the two storms part, for a brief moment a calm, noble music segment is played. Its the same medley than the rest of the track but the tone is completely different as tone and ambience from what had been previously heard, even if there is still a certain tension in it. In fact Malleus Overblot's theme where there is a such calm. Yes it's true that in Leona Overblot's theme there is a kinda of “pause“ in the music but the same amount of epic tension. It's sound like if the character taking a short break, checking if everyone is is okay before return to battle. In Malleus's if we got same general medley but the music tale an other aspect of that character, of that Dragon, at the opposite of the Dark Dragon previously depicted. In that segment, the cello leading the music instead of the choir which became calm like lamentation, giving a powerful, melancholic and noble ambiance to the music before the storm restart and end once again on the eerie voice and notes.

That melancholic noble music caught in the storm show all the balance between light and dark that Malleus carries with him during his personal journey. Give him an aura of nobility and danger as we can found it in the Malzeno's theme or Elder Dragons ( Amatsu, Alatreon or Shagaru Magala) from Monster Hunter for exemple.

Right at the beginning and at the end of the track we got some slight but clear notes of piano. Like cello, that chordophone instrument (musical instrument that use both stringed and percussion (ref, Britanica)), can create intense and emotional ambience. It's true that I wished to heard some organ note in that music track, which could fit to the medieval gothic leitmotif of Diasmonia Dorm but I think it would change the characterization of Malleus in the music track. Organs are, in popular cultures and soundtracks very very bond to the figure of the Evil Lords such as Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time or Dracula in his many adaptations from movies to video-games or it played by shady antagonists like Davy Jones or Erik, the Phantom of the Opera. Even there it's cannon that Malleus know to play organs (Endless Halloween event), it's a piano. To listen those cold and sad notes, featuring a eerie voice, as opening and ending of Malleus Overblot's music theme, give us the ton of the music but also of the character it depicts. In plus to reinforce the feeling of melancholy, its contrast with the storms that reign in most of the track. Like the calm noble leitmotif, the piano show the “softer“, tragic and lonely side of Malleus beyond his dangerous and scaring first apparence and nature as a Dragon and a Dark Fea.

As I was writing that post, I discover that during the battle between the Knight of Dawn and Maleonora, Malleus's Mother, the Overblot can be heard and that discovery make more deeper to Malleus. Making it more personal to Malleus than it's already etablished in the music itself. Far more than I originally suspected.

During the last showdown between the Knight and Maleonora ant their tragic ending, the use of the Overblot's theme don't make that scene feels like one of Maleficient in the original picture or only reflecting the way the Humans sees Maleonora. As a dark witch, a monster.

The Overblot's theme show her as royal princess, a Crown-Heir and a mother that will do everything in her power to protect her people, the persons she love and her child. Between him and his mother there is big similarities, and not just physical. Malleus had indeed inherited some of Maleonora's traits, but in his heart and his general personality, Malleus is more close to his father Lord Revan, as it's confirmed by Lilia.

At the end, that Overblot's theme not just a dungeon's final boss theme or a musical representation of the Arc's aesthetic.

Even more than Diasomnia bgm, this is Malleus Draconia's Theme. Not just his Overblot. His theme, as character, like we discover in both Diasomnia's trailer and Twisted Wonderland's Story. That music score give us more clues about who Malleus really is.

That music can be seen as the refection of Malleus's complex personality. Noble and benevolent, fierce and powerful ..

Both the Greatest Foe than the Devoted Protector.

Introducing Night Raven College's otherworldly guests!

Yuuichi is Ramshackle's prefect, and Eden is the vice-prefect.

These two are quite the odd duo, considering their temperaments, but they do say opposites attract! Besides, they're in the same boat--otherworlders and all. It's no wonder they'd bond after all the trauma shenanigans NRC has put them through. Although, they do seem to already know each other from back home.

Yuuichi is an extremely energetic extrovert who takes Twisted Wonderland's oddities in stride. They're the curious type, so they're having the time of their life here in NRC. Yuuichi likes taking things apart to see how they work, and has tried to do so with several machines and mechanisms within the school (much to Crowley's chagrin). They've also taken a shine to the magic system here, and study it a lot despite not being able to use it. ("It's just so interesting!!")

Eden is a lot more timid and withdrawn compared to Yuuichi, but he tries to show face and present himself with poise and elegance. He succeeds, for the most part, but his shyness is still very apparent. Eden (quite literally) fell into Twisted Wonderland after Yuuichi, right after the Octavinelle arc. He tries to be a model student, but that's really hard to do when his best friend is Yuuichi. No matter how hard he tries, he's always pulled into the first-year's shenanigans. He's resigned to just making sure they don't get too out of hand.

Yuuichi joins Jack on his morning runs sometimes (although they're rarely awake in time)

Yuuichi is something of a parkourist; they like running and climbing on rooftops

Yuuichi prefers to have a concrete plan before going into something, sometimes to their detriment. They've lost matches from thinking for too long before. (Although, NRC has gotten them better at thinking on their feet.)

Yuuichi joined the Film Research Club specifically to be backstage tech.

Yuuichi harasses Idia a lot with the help of Ortho. (It's a win-win! Yuuichi gets to look at cool tech and Ortho gets his brother out of his room!)

Eden's eyes turn pink in the light.

Despite his temperament, Eden is very resistant to peer pressure. (Unless his friends are the ones pressuring him AND he actually wants to do the thing, he just needs a little push.)

Eden loves music. He sings and dances a lot. (He does ballet the most.)

Eden would have joined the VDC boyband crew if not for the fact that he was still acclimating to this world. (Jamil's overblot wasn't exactly a pleasant first OB experience.)

Eden did help Epel and Deuce out when they were learning ballet, though.

Eden likes spending time with Silver. He finds time spent with him calming.

Eden initially checked out the Equestrian club because Riddle invited him, but he stayed because Silver was there.

Back in their home universe, neither Yuuichi or Eden are first years. Yuuichi is a second year and Eden is a third year.

They both help Grim come up with new applications for his fire.

They both do combat training with Grim.

The Ramshackle crew stargazes on Ramshackle's roof often. They invite the other students to join sometimes. The most frequent guests here are Malleus, Kalim, and ADeuce.

At this point, Yuuichi's magicam has become a joint account for the Ramshackle trio.

Malleus expelled from NRC?

Malleus, in addition to having had his Overblot by choice, has been the one who has caused the most danger to everyone so far. Although, as time is still, there is no material loss, and everyone woke up where they were. Let's face it, the risk was serious, as it was putting people's lives at risk (if we consider what Ortho said, which I find bizarre considering that time stopped, so the everyone's body should be suspended). Of course, even so, the people of the island of the wise could spend centuries sleeping, lose relatives and acquaintances, and become disconnected from the current time (that is if Malleus doesn't put the world to sleep). And ignorant of these factors, several forces are mobilizing, such as S.T.Y.X. Outside, the islands surrounding the island of wise men were evacuated. That's quite a problem, besides, Malleus' reputation will be elegantly ruined if his identity is revealed to the Media. I seriously hope his identity has been in secret and only the people who are resolving the situation know. Although everyone at Lilia's party saw it... Still, students don't have as much of a voice as the authorities. So I hope they don't reveal the identity of Malleus as the person responsible for the situation on the island of the wise men. Why his reputation goes where Judas lost his boots.

I haven't read the light novel, but I saw that people commented. It looks like Riddlr almost got kicked out in volume 1. If he almost got kicked out by an accidental Overblot. I can't even imagine a purpose....

This is so true!! Σ੧(❛□❛✿) I really loved the detail in the novel that yeah- Overblot had a BUNCH of realistic consequences such as being expelled and being ostracized by everybody. Although this has never been a problem in the game, the sheer scale of Malleus’ damage- ESPECIALLY when all the faculty and staff were there to witness it- makes this an entirely different case. Plus, the scale of the damage of the Overblots have been getting more dangerous overtime…

But since a Book 8 is very likely, which means the Diasomnia crew will be involved with us, perhaps something DOES happen to Malleus 🧐

Because in the Book 7 trailer, doesn’t Malleus look…frightened? Specifically when the thread “snaps” and Silver wakes up…I think there’s going to be a lot more to his arc than we think. Specifically, he will be the one in danger.

Something that’s been making me suspicious are the VERY hidden Coffins/gates behind Malleus, because he is caged up in thorns. I’ve heard some people say the cage looks like a crown- which I agree! But…doesn’t it also look like a birdcage?

Why hide the coffins in the background? Why the shape of this cage? The coffins have repeatedly been told to keep students inside three unconscious, and can only be opened by a SPECIAL KEY that Crowley has. This, plus the BIRD cage…it has me unsettled.

Overall, this is a very excellent point, because there will definitely be a “greater evil” than Malleus ಠ_ಠ And considering his importance and foreshadowing in the official art, I wonder if he will be the target or a “sacrifice” for someone with greater goals. VERY LONG POST

It was supposed to be a little rant about Twisted Wonderland, it became a treatise (no, but almost):

So, I love the Diasomnia book. It's soooo good (also considering the type of game).

Lilia is enchanting me, Meleanor (or Malenoa) has enchanted me. She couldn't be more beautiful than this. We've seen her so little and yet in my opinion she is one of the most successful characters in Twisted Wonderland. She is the summary of what Twisted Wonderland should be, the dark side that reconciles with unconditional love. And with her being mother she introduces the concept which is the basis of Lilia and Silver (and also Malleus I presume), that is the concept of "true love". It's a blow to the heart, it's the key to development that can completely change things.

Ah, but then you know how to do things well.

And here comes my complaint: I start directly from the game first. I understand that Diasomnia is the main dorm and that Malleus (where are you Malleus?) is our front man. All right. But if they can do something like that now, then they could do at least half of this for the other characters too. Did they do it? Obviously not, or at least not for the most part. No, because if the other media have to come and explain to us the underlying reasons for the other Overblots then something is wrong. If to understand what the guys who are alongside us are doing and what they think I have to read the novel then yes, I get a little angry. Because they knows how to do things for heaven's sake.

Mind you, I'm not saying that Diasomnia can't have more screentime (also because they're giving us information on world building and who says anything), I'm simply talking about good writing and commitment to the characters that have been created. Also because there are already problems of opinion, if the writing is lascivious and incomprehensible, well, see you!

And here's the second point. I don't usually make posts like this, but this comes following a post I saw (I won't say how or where), where there was a clear devaluation of the other chapters and character issues in favor of Diasomnia. So, as much as can be forgivable addressing imaginary characters in a certain way (yes, they are all invented, they have neither merits nor demerits for being what they are, only the tragedy of being written badly in some cases), the treating some topics such as those of Riddle, or Azul or Jamil lightly or insensitively is questionable to say the least. And it can be offensive.

Just as I'm tired of hearing that Leona's problem is "jealousy". No, and even if the writing of the Savanaclaw arc (let alone the translation) doesn't help, no. He's not just jealous, just as Vil isn't just jealous. But I'm not here to do psychological analysis of characters that probably some wouldn't even understand.

You may not understand, yes, we have the right to not understand (especially, I repeat, given the weaknesses that are in the game). Fine, but it's our limit and we keep our head down and we keep quiet, or ask for things to be explained to us. There is no need to devalue, insult or mock the characters, because those characters are loved by someone, and there is a reason they are chosen. Revelation: no, if you like something you don't do it any good by devaluing the rest, but rather you throw that thing in the mud too. I'm not just talking about Twisted Wonderland, I'm also talking about your favorite author, your book or your anime character.

TWST – Villains are the heroes who have failed and fallen (spoilers)

Riddle is the Queen of Hearts, but also Alice. Both as children have faced a matriarch who imposes harsh and difficult rules to follow. The difference is that the latter fought back and the former did not and thus, had internalized all the unfair expectations of his mother and become like her.

Leona is like Simba during his self-imposed exile: putting a distance between their family and home to avoid confrontation due to some past “bad deed” supposedly done by their own hands (Leona’s unique magic -> Mufasa’s death) and contenting with lazing around. While Simba accepts to face the past and to carry the responsibilities entailed by kingly duties, Scar refuses to acknowledge his flaws and to become better.

Azul, while a twisted version of Ursula, shows similarities with Ariel. Both feel like they don’t fit in with other merfolks and possess a thirst for knowledge, notably concerning the surface world. Leona has destroyed all of the contracts he has spent years working on like King Triton has done with Ariel’s treasures which push both of them over the edge (overblot -> signing a contract with Ursula).

Jamil is Jafar, Genie, Aladdin AND Jasmine all in one. On the surface, Jamil appears to be similar to Jafar, but as the Scarabia arc progresses, the more we know that the core of his issue is his desire to be free (like Genie) and to rise from his low-class social status (like Aladdin). Kalim has a kind disposition, but some of his well-intentioned actions leave much to be desired when it concerns Jamil like the sultan (whom he is based after) who tries to set Jasmine up with a prince so that she can still be taken care of after his death even though it makes his daughter feel trapped in her own house. Jafar wants to be the strongest (freedom -> power) and, tricked by Aladdin, wishes to become a genie which ironically binds him to a space more restrictive than before (genie -> overblot; Jamil’s phantom might symbolize his true abilities which are limited by his country’s laws).

Vil’s problem is that he wants to be perceived as more than a villain (beautiful outside AND inside). The sad thing is that by trying so hard, he ironically appeared to be more and more villainous-looking (sabotage -> old woman disguise and attempted murder; it might explain his phantom). While taking charge during his stay in Ramshackle Dorm (a parallel to Snow White living with the dwarves), he lorded over the first years like how the Evil Queen did with Snow White at the beginning of the movie. Idia is stuck in a position he doesn’t want. Hades, Hercules AND Meg also have the same problem. However, while the former tries to solve it by taking things from others, the latter two learn to see what really matters. In addition, Idia’s position is more like Hercules’s and Meg’s than Hades’. Like Hercules, he wanted to belong and believed being a hero would fulfill that wish; and just like Meg, he had developed a defeatist attitude due to a past loss that had deeply affected him (Ortho -> Meg’s ex-lover).

Malleus is isolated, sheltered and destined from birth to rule a kingdom like Aurora. His entourage at school consisted of only three people (Lilia, Silver and Sebek -> the three fairy godmothers) and his whole world changed after meeting a “stranger” (Yuu -> Phillip). If we follow the narrative of the movie, Malleus might become distraught at the idea of not seeing Yuu ever again which will leave him vulnerable to a fate others tried to protect him from (overblot -> spindle). I don’t know if they’ll put some references to Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent, but I can see the bitter resentment for taking away from them what they considered important to them (Yuu -> wing).

Ever since the Diasomnia chapter dropped, everyone's been giving Lilia shit for abandoning Silver and Malleus (and Sebek) by dumping all this info he withheld until now, and while I understand their rage, I feel like there's more to it than we know. Or maybe that's just me. I just hope nobody gets killed or severely injured throughout this chapter because I'm already stressed enough about Malleus overblotting soon.

Not gonna lie, I also think it’s very odd for Lilia to announce his departure and his current condition so hastily. It’s not like he’s lacking in interpersonal intelligence; he would be aware of how badly the others in Diasomnia would take it, and yet he still acts on such short notice and shocks them all??? I suspect that there may be a deeper reason for all of this that he’s not letting them onto (though I don’t know if he’s necessarily lying about his magic weakening because I have yet to see anything in the canon that would suggest the latter outside of maybe this suspicious moment in the CM).

This may also sound weird but 😅 I’m actually hoping that this is the episode where they pull out all the stops (well, as much as Disney will allow for). It’s the final installment to the first arc of the main story; now is as good of a time as any to let characters get hurt (not necessarily physically or to the point of death). Make it sadder than episode 6 ✨ I don’t think it makes much sense to build up all of this ominous foreshadowing and then not collect on the emotional payoff for it, you know?

Twst X Cookie Run

Once upon a long time ago, there was a tiny Cookie. They were baked with the blackest of graphite, the whitest of paper, and as the core, the most colourful of rainbow inks. Like most Cookie, they ran from the Witch that baked them, but instead of ending up in the Rollcake Forest or any nearby Kingdom, they fell from a cliff into a black carriage pulled by horses.

Cookie!Yuu's name is Dream Ink Cookie (夢インッくクーキ - yume inkku kūki), so other students call them Yuu for short.

Consider everybody involved surprised because a cookie appears from the coffin, wearing robes tht are just the perfect size for them.

Grim tries to chase after them, but as you guys might now the cookies in the Cookie Run series are fast.

The fire still happens, and Yuu gets sorted to Ramshackle. As to how the ghosts are defeated, no one knows for sure. The ghosts didn't tell how Yuu did it, their prides are crushed when they lose to a flat cookie and a cat.

For the Adeuce Arc, they became the distraction. They didn't have a Master Rank for nothing.

Nobody knows how Yuu even help defeat the Overblot. The most reasonable theory is that they went to the kitchen, take a rolling pin and smack it right through the overblottee's faces.

Azul gets a frying pan for all the troubles he caused.

They gets along with Trey, and helps him bake the best they can.

Trey notices that Yuu looks lonely, and tries to make something that'll make them happy. He didn't notice the glittering purple coloured cookie cutter.

The next thing they knew, another Cookie appeared.

NRC needs to be careful and have to double-check the cookie cutters.

The special ones are easy, but the silver ones are basically indistinguishable from a magicless cookie cutter.

Before they knew it, Ramshackle turned into a new Cookie Kingdom.

It always smell like baked sweets.

Something about Sebek just gets my blood boiling and guess who let that slip into their maladaptive daydreaming? :) I know that Sebek would never say things to this degree, so this is more of just taking his character to its irredeemable logical conclusion I actually want to like this character since it’s ripe for an amazing character arc plz don’t take away my 3ds privileges

Note: Reader insert is referred to as "Yuu" and gn (Feat. Malleus, Sebek, Lilia, and Silver)

Yuu had a very small group of friends that they could actually call their friends. They’ve had various students help them in their fights against the overblots, but the only constants were the Heartslabyul duo and Grim. Perhaps maybe even Malleus.

Malleus was a curious case. He would visit Ramshackle sparingly, but each time he did, Yuu always felt at ease, and in turn so did Malleus. After the events of Vil’s overblot, Malleus felt somewhat conflicted. His true identity was known now to Yuu, so if he visited them again, would they still treat him the same?

A foolish thought, he realized, for Yuu greeted him with the same “hi Hornton” and urged them to continue the previous meeting’s chat about gargoyles. This human, he realized, was one of a kind.

One day, he took Lilia’s advice and invited Yuu to Diasomnia to spend more time together and formally introduce them to his found family. Yuu found themselves getting along with Lilia, Silver, and Sebek, or as much as a human could with Sebek. Yuu and Malleus however were well aware of the piercing glares Sebek shot the human whenever they were within arm distance of each other.

It sometimes felt unbearably uncomfortable for Yuu, but Lilia was the living embodiment of the word “icebreaker.” He always had an idea to pass the time whether it be playing video games, singing karaoke, or sharing stories of his past. It had appeared as though he too began to grow fond of Yuu. Even if he wasn’t, he at least approved the fact that whenever Yuu was around, Malleus seemed so much more open and happy.

Sebek on the other hand swore the human was using some sort of forbidden magic to lure both his masters into Yuu’s clutches. All Yuu had to do was laugh or make a juvenile joke and both Malleus and Lilia would fall deeper into their influence. He knew the human was magicless, but to have this unremarkable human gain the favor of the two most incredible fae Sebek had known must have been due to some illicit acquisition of powerful magic. It’s the only way humans ever manage to get by, he thought.

He quickly made it known to Yuu that although his masters and fellow countrymen welcomed them into Diasomnia, if he had his way, Yuu wouldn’t even be allowed to breathe the same air as he and his masters.

One by one, his offhand comments burrowed their way deeper and deeper into Yuu, like an archer slowly shooting closer and closer towards the bullseye.

“You brought food for the picnic and you can’t even carry it without breaking a sweat? Just give me the cooler. I keep forgetting how weak and feeble you humans are.”

"Your world doesn’t have mermen or fae OR beastmen? Yet you all fight over your own perceived differences? How strange. I see you as all the same. I guess that explains your kind’s shared despotic tendencies."

"Your world has weapons of that destructive level without magic? I find that hard to believe! You apemen are so weak and brainless, it's a wonder how your kind has managed to keep up with the superior races of the world."

And after each comment, even in the company of his peers, no one bothered correcting him as his remarks grew more and more outlandishly bigotted. Even when Silver was included in his speeches, the white haired boy stoically remained silent. Lilia had made it a point to make sure Yuu was comfortable and welcomed with open arms, yet each time Sebek used a variation of an ape based slur, which Yuu had found out were actual slurs used against humans in Briar Valley, Lilia smiled and carried on the conversation as if nothing happened.

Malleus once again invited Yuu back to Diasomnia for music night.

Yuu felt like they were going insane. Did no one just care? Or did they all feel the same way about humans? It was like they were being gaslit into thinking that Sebek wasn't saying the most hateful, racist things to their face.

"It's something the four of us decided to do one night when Lilia strangely enough was feeling homesick. We would listen to songs that reminded us of home or share music that we personally liked. I think if you came, we could learn much about each other's cultures, don't you think?"

Yuu was charmed by the idea and agreed to go. They wondered what kind of music Malleus liked or if he played any instruments. Or how about Silver? Did he like calm music that helped him sleep? Lilia was anyways an oddball, so perhaps he will have the most eccentric taste. Sebek though…

…

Yuu felt their curiosity vanish and a hollow pit started to form in their chest.

On music night, Yuu sat comfortably on the couch next to Malleus, laughing and smiling whenever Malleus spoke to them. Malleus had those same reactions, Sebek noticed. However, there was nothing he could do to stop them from acting this way, not until he saw Yuu lightly elbow the fae prince after making an immature joke.

“KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF THE YOUNG MASTER!” Sebek swiftly grabbed ahold of Yuu’s blazer and slung them off the couch, causing them to hit their hip against the corner of the table in front of them.

“Ah fuck!” Yuu winced and cradled their hips.

Malleus leaned forward with his hand outstretched and asked, “are you okay, Child of Man?”

“Young Master! You must stay away from them! Lest they defile you with their foul language!” Sebek stood between Malleus and Yuu, glaring down at the human.

Lilia spoke sternly, “Sebek, why don’t you sit down?”

Yuu glowered at Sebek, their patience finally running thin. “Yeah Sebek, why don’t you relax before you do something stupid.”

“THE AUDACITY! You think you can lay your filthy hands on the young master?! You are sorely mistaken! I think it’s time you took your leave, for we have nothing to gain from you here! The last thing we need is some lame chimp sullening these walls with your primitive and debaucherous music!”

Yuu stood back up and leaned towards Sebek, “excuse me?”

“Aren’t humans derived from monkeys?” Sebek smirked with pride, “how about you do everyone a favor and wander into the jungle back where you belong!”

“Sebek!” Silver finally called. “That’s enough!”

It was too late as Yuu merely stared at Sebek and with a single deep breath answered, “Fine. This was never going to work out anyway.” Yuu sent Sebek one last glare before they stomped away towards the dorm entrance.

“Halt, please!” Malleus teleported in front of Yuu. “Please excuse his behav-”

“No Malleus! I will not! I can’t take his racist tirades anymore! I don’t care if you think this is normal for you, but I’m not going to subject myself to his abuse just so I can spend time with you!”

Malleus blinked, “what are you saying then?”

Yuu shook their head in defeat, “You and I are just not meant to be. There is so much hatred and bigotry in my world, and I thought that maybe, just maybe… I wouldn’t have to deal with it here Twisted Wonderland—at least in the way I do back home. But I can’t even have that!” Malleus looked at Yuu solemnly, letting them continue. “And what you and I have just isn’t worth my mental well-being. As long as Sebek is watching over you, I can’t hang out with you anymore. I’m sorry.”

Yuu ran past a stupefied Malleus and out the heavy doors. It took all their self control to not cry while they ran down the stone path away from the dorm.

As Yuu made haste, they felt a cold breeze graze their neck and the sky darken as dark billowing clouds appeared over the dorm and thunder roared in the distance.

Personality: Livia is naturally cheerful and enjoys being around family members and friends. Others state that people are naturally drawn to her due to her cheerfulness and compassionate behavior. She's very naive and childish, leading to some accidents(Getting caught in the human stampede from chapter 2 after Ziro tells her about a candy stand), but she is resilient and smart when she's not scared silly or having been tricked from trusting someone too much. She does have s scary side despite acting like a toddler and has been commented on by others that she's perfected Lilia's signature glare. She loves her family dearly and is protective of them, especially of Silver who is her favorite sibling out of them all, preferring to take the fall rather than them.

She can be a bit loud mouthed and accidentally sassy, having gotten it from Malleus while she was growing up. When she's upset, she has a sharp tongue and will do what it takes to get back at the person who thought it was okay to turn her positive emotions into negative ones. Even as Ogre she remains the same but plays no games when it comes to throwing down with the overblot boys. She's determined and soft-hearted when it comes to her goals, believing that one can reach if if they do their best.

Appearance: Livia stands at 5'6 which is 167 cms in height. Her hair color is midnight black with purple underneath, fading into a light blue, along with a streak of the same color at the front of her hair, but she ended up cutting her hair to waist length hating how long it was, and since she tended to stumble over her own hair a few times(which made Lilia laugh). Livia's eyes are a pale blue which is a sign of rebirth. Her jaguar ears are a bright yellow the same with her tail, but her ears are slightly smaller due to her only being half jaguar.

Livia, during the Diasomnia Arc, gets a pair of horns that curls around her ears. Her wings turn from black to a slightly lighter grayish black color, and now she always has her wings out at all times since her curse no longer affected her. Her eyes change from blue to gold, but is able to change colors depending on her emotions.

Her dorm uniform is the same as everyone else's residing in Diasomnia. Livia wears purple eyeshadow, done by Lilia, when in the dorm. Her uniform consists of a black all-weather coat with neon green and silver accents, black combat suspenders and belts, jodhpur pants, a small garrison cap, black gloves, and heeled knee-high boots.

The all-weather coat has asymmetrically colored lapels, with one black and one neon green. Both lapels have silver straps and buttons on them. Two silver zippers go down the center of the coat, lined with neon green stripes. The coat reaches below the waist in length, and the sleeves are folded up to reveal a neon green underlining with silver trim. Sebek wears a white collared shirt and black tie underneath his coat.

Over the coat and above the waist is a set of black belts with silver buckles. The lowest belt hangs at an angle, and connects to several silver spools of thread on his left hip. Between the belt and spools is a silver ornament, shaped like a spinning wheel. On the other side of the belt is a holster for a magic pen. The black combat suspenders worn above the belts have silver buttons and a unique cuff around the right arm that resembles a dragon’s wing.

The jodhpur pants are black with neon green stripes going down the outer seams, and the knee-high boots are black with neon green soles. The garrison cap is black with neon green trim, and the sides fold up to resemble curved horns.

Unique magic:

Emotion Weather(Formerly) Description: Livia is able to control the weather with her emotions(Happy means Sunny, Sad and crying causes rain, fury causes a thunderstorm, excitement causes a near drought, etc, etc), it activates if she chants a rhyme responding to her current emotion or current forced emotion ("Hail, Rain, Sunny, Storms respond to my sadness dear rain, bring a rain storm!"). It'll deactivate the moment she goes back to the emotion she's currently genuinely feeling.

Voodoo dolls(Currently) Description: Livias Unique Magic allows her to turn people and objects into voodoo dolls who become controlled by her and won't return to their normal forms unless she frees them so willingly. Her Unique Magic is revealed after she is revived by Meleanor and she returns to help the ramshackle group, Silver, Sebek, Idia and Ortho take on Malleus.

Background: Livia's bio father is Lilia Vanrouge and Thea Vanrouge. She also has several adopted older siblings and many younger siblings adopted and biological. She was initially feared by the people of her home, being labeled as a demon child, but she never let it get to her because she always had her family and friends love/support. After some time she started to be called the Friendly Hybrid/The Draconia's beastie, being seen as a popular lady of her hometown.

She was relieved for her mothers food so she didn't have to eat her fathers, but was pleasantly surprised that NRC's food tasted much better than her mothers.

-Livia is stated to be based off of Maleficents thorns but is also hinted to have a bit if Disney princess in her character

-Her childhood friend/pen pals are Kalim and Azul, being the one who brought them together as childhood friends before Azul meets Jade and Floyd

-According to Rollo, Livia eats lots and lots of fruit rarely ever eating meat revealing that she's mostly vegan

-According to Silver, Livia is bad at cutting her hair so he, Golden or their mother take over that job

-Livia knows kickboxing and is a master at it but she tends to be too childish to remember to use it or she uses taekwondo more due to knowing more moves

-Like Silver, Livia attracts animals of all sizes and species, and they tend to be her source of protection/comfort if others aren't around

-According to Crowley, Livia might be part of Twisted Wonderland due to her thorn control power

-Livia has deadly allergies to Honey Lemon Tea, the reason why is currently unknown

-Livia is by far the only character who gets included in almost all the events, getting many cards but is the hardest to summon

-Other students have commented that she makes Lilia's expressions perfectly and that she could be his kid or sibling

-According to Lilia, he gave Livia her name because he knew others would be envious of how cherished she was by her loved ones

-Livia has Light Fae blood inside of her thanks to her mother, Thea, cause her mothers father was a light Fae

-Livia is the first and only student to get her Unique Magic during an Event(Star Gazer)

-Rook is Livia's mentor, and taught her how to hunt better

-It's been stated by Malleus that Livia tends to overstep her boundaries due to the fact that he doted on her a lot, back at their home, so he invaded her space at times

-Lilia helped Livia trick Sebek Zigvolt cause he barely had any candy, which caused the loudest scream ever to come from poor Sebek

-Due to having Light Fae blood, Livia has emotion sensing powers

!! CHAPTER 7 / DIASOMNIA ARC SPOILERS !!

I am not in the mood to study so yeah (Part 3):

The senate (which are just these 3 floaty thingies) start to blame him for Meleanor's death and they punish him by banning him from the capital (which makes Silver and Sebek realize why Lilia can't do certain things). BUT BAD NEWS GUYS THE BLOT IS BACK and it's forming around Lilia with him muttering that he'll join them (Meleanor and Leverne) soon...

All of a sudden the ring (yknow the one Silver has) teleports them to another old memory, taking place 10 years after the war where Lilia was secretly called by Maleficia. Apparently Malleus eggo stopped accepting her magic and that direct touch and love would be more efficient

Baul wants Lilia to travel to various to find ways to hatch Malleus eggo and also reminds Lilia of Meleanor's last words where if she's gone, Lilia will be the one in charge of hatching him (as well as acting like a married couple with Leverne OKAYYYYYY)

Lilia tells the eggo that if he ends up in the stars before Lilia returns, eggo's parents are going to scold him so he asks Malleus to hold on AND MOTHERFUCKER

Lilia travels around the world, but everytime he brings up the egg people immediately shum him out, saying that dragons only exist in fairy tales. But every time Lilia comes back to Malleus eggo, Baul notices that the magic increases. Then Lilia suddenly brings up that Meleanor was a picky eater while Leverne was a honor student but in reality the dude hid his veggies under the table 😭😭😭

A rumor goes around that there was a castle holding dragons so Lilia goes to check it out, but he was too late. He then breaks down asking if anyone knew how to hatch the egg until magic suddenly overflows and boom we got the origin story of Lilia's UM. He uses this to his advantage to find more research to hatch Malleus

200 years has passed and Lilia was succesful

Malleus pretty much goes nuts here because the senate and Maleficia were lying to him. He then asks Lilia what dream does he want: One where Meleanor and Leverne lived or something else that makes him happy BUT SILVER AND SEBEK MANAGE TO INTERVENE AND SNAP LILIA BACK TO REALITY YEYYYYYY

With Lilia now back to us, the group proceeds to run away but while that was happening Lilia mentioned this

Then Silver promises Lilia that they will meet again and activates his UM BUT THEN A HOLGRAM OF ORTHO APPEARS TO THEM

THEY'RE ALL BACK AND IGNIHYDE WITH IDIA SAYING "time for the main event~~~~" LET'S GOOO THE SHROUD BROS ARE BACK BABY

Manifesting real hard for the next update being the Shroud bros segment cuz if you think about it Idia didn't need any assistance to escape the dream LIKE BRO ACCEPTED THE FACT HIS BROTHER IS DEAD AND THAT'S HARD

This was surprisingly short (or maybe I was rushing) with only 3 parts but hope you guys enjoyed it!!

Back at it again, Welcome to Another Twst Theory

Spoiler Alert!!!!! Diasomnia Arc, Part 5

I'm going to discuss back onto the Crowley/Levan Theory. So far, from the translations in Youtube by gasmask01, crying. After Part 5 ended, I thought to myself if Crowley is actually Levan, or somewhat relative to.

First off, there was no sillouete of Levan, only princess Malenora and the Dawn Knight. Assuming, they don't want us to know...yet.

So, to my thinking, Levan is actually alive and not dead. He did not go to the Silver Owl's fort, but to where they orginley came from, the Kingdom of Heroes.

Levan's goal as a diplomacy is to bring peace for his country and for his newborn. But he was held hostage. Which would explain why he didn't nor came back after few years of his dissaperance.

The reason why he couldn't easily escape is because they might of cut his wings or take away half of his magic. To fairies, their wings is very precious to them.

Now, what if? When Levan is trapped back at KoH, he was told that the Silver Owls managed to kill Malenora.

"THEY DID WHAT?!"

Remember, the three fairies told Princess Lei (I think that's her name) to run away because the country is falling down? That may be caused by Levan. Learning to what happened to his wife? He proberly went rampage, or maybe overblot for that matter.

Then why did Princess Lei leave baby Silver? Other's theorize that she might of felt guilty to what her (disgusting) brother did that cause their kingdom to ruins, but she wanted her baby to live on without knowing who his parents are.

Another question. Why didn't Levan return back to Briar Valley if he was really alive?

Now, back to the present, with Dire Crowley. We can see that he doesn't seem to care, specifically, the humans.

Because his wife was killed by humans. He was not "Levan" anymore, he his Dire Crowley.

He was barely even there when the students who overblot, but he would care about the overblot crystals? And NRC reputation, too.

But when Grim ate one. he was like, "Oh, that is fine."

In order to bring back Maleonora, he needed someone who can outstand the overblot phanthom.

Or maybe, a sacrifice? A vessel that is strong build to maintain Malenora's magic. Which is why Yuu was brought to Twisted Wonderland to be a sacrifice to bring back his dear "evil flower".

If that is true, it would make sense because with Yuu, they don't have a place to go, no memories of their orgin world (?), and lastly, not from a wealthy/noble family so it can go slide off.

To Crowley, it would be easy for him to gaslight and gatekeep Yuu.

Now here comes the icing on the cake, Crowley's face reveal. How do we do that? Maybe Yuu getting more voice lines, starting to connect the dots. Ask Silver and Sebek to ask if they learn a spell to revieal a person's identity.

"Oh! My father unique magic is similar to it. Why did you ask, Yuu?"

"I...I think Crowley might be this Levan fae person."

"EH?!"

"Don't you guys think so? They both have pale skin, same lip color, and not to mention Crowley has pointy ears, so I assume he is also a fae. It's just so mysterious."

Later on, once Lilia gains memories and awareness, Yuu told Lilia about Crowley might be the person he has been searching for. Even if Lilia's magic started to fade away, inside their dream, he might be able to use his magic one last time. So, the diasomina group and Yuu go to Crowley's dream to see if the theory is true.

Though I don't think it'll happened that way.

But hey, that's just a theory, a game theory.

Smallnote, I don't think Crowley/Levan knows if the egg is hatched or not because he might of been so broken learning the news. He couldn't come back home to help the egg hatched faster. So after 400 years passed, Crowley, as the NRC headmage then remembers his unborn child.

"Hm...They should have been hatched right now. Don't worry child, I will bring back your mother so we can be back together."

Damn. Now back to crying again

MALLEUS THEORY

So I had a discussion with someone about theories of episode 7 about Malleus that made me want to write ALL of this down. SO SPOILERS IF U HAVEN’T GOTTEN FURTHER INTO EPISODE 6 TILL THE END. IT’S GONNA SHOW OFF SOME SPOILERS!

Here goes, we know Malleus is possibly the one to overblot. What I think this arc is not only gonna be like about life and death like Sleeping Beauty movie.

But about Malleus’s emotions.

In the sleeping beauty movie the good fairies described Maleficent being emotionless

Not that Malleus is like at all.

These are human emotions that are normal to others to express to one another

For Malleus is different in a way. For example with Malleus and Lilia interaction in Ramshackle

Malleus explains in detail that does foreshadows 7 arc. But why is he explaining this? He is probably going through some emotions about abandonment as you can see him describing about the ramshackle itself!

Even Lilia explains it himself about human bond when he was seeing others being happy with each other. And Malleus repeated Lilia’s words to himself at the very end of the episode 6

What I think this arch is gonna be He is probably gonna go through a lot of emotions.

Because of Lilia, not only implied in the game that he probably will gone soon (he probably will survive >> hopefully). But so will Silver and Sebek since they are not fae or not fully fae.

Malleus is a older than any humans great grandmother as it was implied in Firework event. 💀 I know pfpf no wonder he goes to Leona at times PPFF This will probably impact Malleus to show off more emotions than before and to try value things around him as he can until they are no longer around him.

I think that is what people relate the most because time is precious and the people around us will go eventually. It’s the very sad reality because of it.

He already lost his parents, he will lose the people he cherishes the most. I think this arc will be very angsty than episode 6 because I literally cried about what happened to Ortho.

Do you have any thots yours willing to share on time loop theory?

Erm. The thing about me... is that I'm kind of a dummy -w- This entire post will have spoilers so be warned.

This thread by YuuRei20 on twitter explains what is understood so far about the theory. But I also think I'm one of, if not, THE FIRST person to ever think that Jamil is aware of the time loop as well as Leona. In my mind, there are 5 characters that are aware of the loop. That being: Leona (the thread explains that evidence), Malleus (This one is a little harder to explain depending on what you're going with for the explanation of this theory. I will elaborate later), Jamil (super important and what I was talking about earlier), Crowley (the thread also explains this somewhat), and Yuu or the MC/Prefect (this one is also difficult to find the evidence for but I do 100% believe that in some way, outside of our knowledge as players, that Yuu is aware that this has happened before.)

The time loop theory has existed for as long as the game has, so there's a million different ideas of how or why it might be happening. The thread posits that "Everything we know is repeating in a loop in an attempt to either stop something from happening or to make something happen." and that the game's catch copy of “I will show you a true happy ending” implies that there HAVE been bad endings to this story that Someone is trying to prevent. If your explanation for the time loop is as the thread suggests then maaaaaaaybe Malleus might be none the wiser... But If you have read chapter 7's currently released episodes... Your explanation for the time loop could be a teensy bit different.

In chapter 7: Ruler of the Abyss, we go into it knowing that Malleus is going to most-likely be the arc villain, as aside from 1 chapter before, the dorm leader is always the arc villain. One of the first scenes Yuu has with Malleus in this chapter is Yuu excitedly telling Malleus that he's working on a way to return to his own world. Malleus asks him if he would "stay in this world (Twisted Wonderland) if there was a way for him to see his loved ones without having to go home" To which Yuu tells him that he would like to return to his own world. This is the end of that scene.

We also learn that Lilia, Malleus' close friend and caregiver is losing his magic and is going to pass away "soon" which could be anything from a few months to 60+ years given that he's lived 700~ years. He also says that he will be leaving the school and moving to a country implied to be very far away from Briar Valley, where Malleus and Lilia's actual literal son, Silver, live. This information deeply troubles Malleus as well as SIlver.

The combined stress of his dear human friend, Yuu, and his lifelong caregiver, going away from him (as well as his tamagotchi dying) leads Malleus into snapping and putting everyone Lilia had invited to his going away party into a "death-like sleep" (lol) before entirely overblotting and saying that "1000 years will pass in the blink of an eye" (lolololol)

Those events are key in the idea that Malleus is aware of the timeloop because he is responsible for it because he trapped everyone in dreams of idealistic school days. I feel like this theory and the theory discussed in the thread clash a bit but it makes so much sense to me. And more importantly... It heavily backs up my belief that Jamil is aware of the time loop.

In the song performed by the Night Raven College team during the VDC, most, if not all, of the lines sung by other characters are essentially in the vein of "We are so good at singing. We are perfect. You cannot possibly beat us. *does a dance*" But Jamil gets a solo. And in this solo, he says a few interesting things.

It's pretty surface level stuff to understand, but what roots Jamil to knowing about the time loop is that these lines are reminiscent of some events that haven't happened yet. "The thorns that entwine, the clock that starts to turn." I'm disturbed, so naturally this feels like an obvious reference to Malleus (the prince of thorns who covers the whole island in thorns and puts everyone to sleep) and time, clocks, you know.

The "watchful gaze" being referred too could be Malleus' eyes watching his "friends" he put to sleep or (in my own sick twisted mind) could refer to the chapter AFTER the VDC. The Ignihyde chapter is called, get this, The Watchman of The Underworld. If you think its that deep, Jamil is talking about two arc villains that are only villains in the future.

"Silently and faintly torn apart, and becoming foolish" could refer to any of the overblots but I think it hits with Malleus because he doesn't try to resolve his problem in any healthy way. He witnesses Silver crying because he is losing his father, Silver who also did not voice his emotions to the person they concern, and he "becomes foolish". Combining this event with seeing his tamagotchi die and become an egg again, in his fantastical mind, made it clear. He wasn't going to tell Lilia or Yuu that he didn't want them to go away or that they were truly important to him. He was going to make them and all the people he wanted to be friends with stay with him in fantasy-like school days.

In my sick mind, I read the "praying not to be saved" as "I would rather they let me die overblotting than to have to keep living through all of this". Which an hour ago, I was like Woah This is Jamil talking about himself here 😲, but now I understand that it might be in reference to Idia intentionally overblotting in an attempt to end his life. Many hints in chapter 6 support this, such as Idia seemingly forcing his overblot despite using no magic and having no blot accumulation scenes, his attempt to fall into the underworld with Ortho when he's defeated, as well as just KNOWING he's extremely depressed.

Jamil also is... Like... Super aggressive to Kalim during his own overblot and he speaks to him rudely and says that they were never friends, but in any scene you see of the two of them after this point, they seem as friendly as ever. In the Happy Beans Day event, despite being on opposing teams and taking place after Jamil seemingly admitted his hatred of Kalim, he cooks for his team. He heats up and prepares the food he made that morning for Kalim's team. That's not something you would do for a guy you hate, in my opinion.

Time loops are often used in stories to develop a characters values. If the same period of time repeats over and over, you are probably gonna go a little crazy. But... Jamil is not a violent person, he's not the kind of guy who would realize he's in a time loop and start hurting people. Yes, he was upset with the Asim family, but Kalim is still someone he has known his whole life. He has to continue his cycle of being the villain and overblotting because he can't tell Kalim seriously that he knows something foul is happening. Call Jamil two-faced all you want, but I think in the theory that he's aware of the time loop, he has to hold onto something constant like Kalim's friendship, Kalim in general, and that's why he is so soft on him. This is some My Little Pony ass shit I'm typing but I'm for real guysssss. In Jamil's case, he can't really do anything to prevent time from repeating besides get stronger for a threat he's yet to see the end of, so he survives, and clings to any comfort he can get in consistency. (My sick head)

I have more thoughts on the matter but I can't figure out a way to word them that isn't straight up gibberish. I love you. Understand my post now.
