Twst as K-Pop Groups!

Rated E, for EVERYONE!

A short film exploring a Twisted Wonderland Idol AU!

Featuring: All the dorms + Che'nya and a Neige mention

Beware! This film contains: really bad kpop group names, smoking mention, otherwise I think it's fine

Heartslaybul

Group name: LVBZ (Luver Boyz), I wanted to lean into the heart theme for that classic boygroup feel

Fandom name: Rozes, for obvious reasons

While Riddle is the obvious answer for leader, Trey is the right answer. Responsible older brother Trey is probably deeply underappreciated in the group. I feel like he’s probably been in a group that disbanded early before, (cough, Che’nya, Trey, Riddle group anyone?) and has a bit of a tired vibe. He writes a good handful of the songs since he plays the guitar, but he’s actually not crazy about pop. They definitely share a dorm and Trey made a chore chart for them.

Riddle is definitely taking the position of vocalist and center, he’s probably really strict about his training and exercise, he was a trainee for a loooong time and after his last group he’s kinda nervous. His mom used to be a very popular vocalist, but you’ll never catch him with nepo baby claims because he’s so intense. Besides LVBZ Riddle also does some modeling on the side and will probably end up in a drama of some kind.

Cater is absolutely giving “has so many predebut photos” energy. From vlives, to vlogs, cooking videos, asmr videos, tiktoks, instagram posts, Cater is all over their social media like crazy. He’s got a pretty good public image, always interacting with fans, the only thing is- he's a chronic content farmer, it's like so bad guys. At least his aegyo is actually cute? He’s the face and probably a sub vocalist of some kind, but definitely writes the lot of their songs. Seems like the type who has a very good image but chainsmokes/vapes on the side.

RAPPER DEUCE. Okay normal again. But he totally fits the rapper vibes, I can’t stress how well it fits. Has the most embarrassing predebut photos known to man, lots of him with badly dyed hair and he probably had a bullying scandal really early into his career. Extremely awkward aegyo, fans love him cus he comes off as cute but very genuine, fan favorite.

At this point I’ve put all the basketball boys as dancers but can you blame me? Ace reeks of high energy dancer who kinda sucks ass at singing. He tries really, but just let him be the main dancer and a sub rapper! Ace and Deuce used to go to the same highschool predebut and did not get along. Don't leave this guy alone with fans, not because he's going to do anything criminal- he's just gonna say some dumb shit. Spill a secret, be generally kinda dickish- just. Don't do it, fanservice is not Ace’s strong suit

Their discography is kinda all over the place but I feel like that’s the Heartslaybul vibe? I tried to keep it light and sort of… classic boy group vibes. I'm not really into light concept boy groups so this was difficult for me. (I wrote this before I listened to zb1’s debut. They are zb1)

Group name: BxB (Boy X Beast), I swear I wasn’t trying to copy TXT that hard

Fandom name: BOB (Be Our Best), because fans “make them their best”. It’s so bad but this is intentional

Leona is the leader but honestly he doesn’t do much to corral anyone. He’s definitely been in a couple groups that have done very poorly and can’t stop getting compared to his more successful brother- a recently retired soloist. Worse, he gets tons of “he’s a lazy dancer” and “nepo baby” comments from fans. He’s a bit jaded, and for good reason. He’s not much of a dancer, moreso acting as the visual and vocalist in his group and chances are he’s done an acting gig or two. Leona does a lot of low energy vlives, it's like him eating fried chicken in the dark while barely talking on camera. Refuses to do any cutesy fanservice, ask him to look hot? Done and done. Aegyo? Ask Ruggie.

Ruggie is the face of the group, everyone on the planet has seen him busking before and during his trainee period, not to mention he’s funny, fans love him. He’s also carrying the rapper position, and often gets center, but he and Leona are honestly neck and neck in that area. Ruggie's pretty good aegyo but he literally always laughs afterwards. So many memes of the dumb faces he makes while laughing.

Jack iiiis the dancer, so many first years were subjected to dancer and rapper sorry guys. He’s tried to write songs but only a couple have really panned out- the others are encouraging though! Obviously maknae, endless jokes about being GIANT despite being the youngest. Somehow he seems to take this the most serious despite being the newest to this?

Their sound is very classically masculine, as is Savanaclaw’s vibe. If they barked in the song I legally had to add it

Octavinelle

Group name: TYDE (“Take Your Dreams Everywhere”), I went the EXiD route with this one, it was a little too funny not to

Fandom name: Tied, because TYDE is tied to them

Oh my god. Despite being my favorite dorm, Octavinelle gave me a fuckin hell of a time to put together, I just did not have a clear vision for them at all. I’m going with Azul, even though I considered leader Jade for a little bit, simply because I think Azul is the kind of leader who designs a bunch of merch for the fans- a la the VIXX thong. He’s rocking with the visual, center, and vocalist position. He comes off as a very smooth and self assured leader, but let’s be honest he’s the only one in the group who’s having a panic attack before award shows. I think he probably had a really hard time as a trainee and can’t let that go just yet.

Jade doesn’t get any kind of strong spot in the lineup somehow, despite there only being three members, he definitely ends up a bit in the background. But Jade doesn’t mind! He honestly doesn’t care much for the spotlight and is mostly here because Azul and Floyd are. He writes all the songs for their group, no arguments.

So we all know Floyd is the dancer, guy canonically loves dancing, but he’s also going to steal the rapper position. This is because rappers are always the weird ones in the group, and by god is Floyd the weird one. He always gets styled extremely strangely, I mean every time he steps on stage he ends up in a new “worst outfits in kpop” list. Floyd ends up being the face because he’s such a standout, not to mention the fact he keeps… showing up with other groups. Is there a vlive happening? Somehow Floyd interrupts. Another group practicing? Not without Floyd they’re not. He’s even managed to be in the background of several MVs (think OOH-AHH Chan). Floyd seems to just know everyone everywhere.

Holy hell okay their music gave me a hard time too. Octavinelle is so solidified as jazz in my head that trying to think of anything else for them gave me an aneurysm.I struggled so much that yeah I’m breaking and adding one or two japanese songs, sorry guys

Group name: Wysper (Honestly not happy with either of the names but I can’t think of anything better)

Fandom name: Wishes

Okay they’re complex because. Uh. Jamil is basically doing everything. He’s the most talented dancer, rapper, vocalist; it’s just that Kalim is the face. Aaaand the center. Despite being a trainee for a way shorter amount of time, despite not being as skilled as Jamil, Kalim took first place in the competitive show they both participated in. Very bitter. Jamil tries to keep it on the down-low but their relationship is definitely suffering from favoritism.

Kalim has probably been a star for a very long time, I’m talking child star levels of fame and already had a fan base by the time he and Jamil debuted. He’s got amazing charisma and stage presence, not to mention Kalim is taking first place as the aegyo king. However, the nepo baby allegations are through the ROOF, seeing as his family straight up owns the company he and Jamil debuted under. That’s not to say he doesn’t try! He works hard, but it’s not going to save him, especially when he’s getting a billion offers from modeling companies and fashion brands, when Jamil isn’t.

I can’t describe what their sound is exactly? I feel like it’s somewhere close to reggaeton with a bit of bollywood/southeast asia

Debut song: You cannot tell me Paint The Town by Loona is not THE Wysper song. It’s literally so perfect I was angry I didn’t think of it earlier. Kalim on the light verses, Jamil on the chorus? Insane.

Group name: FoE (Fruit of Evil), I wanted to lean into the lip/biting themes for them and pick something that felt suitably sexy

Fandom name: Bites

Vil has to be the leader obviously, but he’s also the face, visual and vocalist- let’s be real he’s the most favored of the group and everyone knows it. He was definitely an actor before this, he probably ended up in the group because of an elimination show that he won and then got the privilege of picking all his other members. He for sure has some solo releases, brand deals, modeling gigs- Vil is the it boy of their generation, the kind of idol everyone knows. Definitely a massive one-sided rivalry with Neige, because Neige was probably in a NCT Dream type group as a kid, then went solo when he got older and became incredibly successful. Vil is endlessly jealous.

Rook was probably a runner up in the same show as Vil and fully admitted to being a massive fan while on the show. He’s the best dancer in the group, probably the center, and writes the majority of the songs cus I know this weird fucker likes poetry. Rook is guy who’s a fan before he’s an idol, definitely has a room full of merchandise, people have caught him buying albums of his favorite group

Epel is the maknae, obviously, and was probably previously a background dancer. Vil saw him and picked him up by the scruff of his neck. He’s definitely the only real rapper of the group and can dance pretty well, but this is not the kind of group he wanted to be in. Epel was probably hoping for a concept a bit more like BxB but we don’t all get what we wish for

I listened to Nude while making this and it changed my entire vibe for their group. They’re just (g)-idle. If the music makes you wanna worship a woman it belongs to FoE.

Group name: Som.nia (Nia), I wanted to lean into the sleepy/dream feeling

Fandom name: Niacs, insomnia/insomniac you get it okay

“Malleus is leader!” you cry, and you are wrong, because Lilia literally has to be leader. He is the objectively the best (and funniest) option, Malleus does not have the backbone to be leader yet. Lilia has been around the block a billion times; he’s been a vkei idol, he’s been a model, he’s probably been a wrestler let’s be real he’s the Sakura of twst fr. He writes most of the songs for the group, but is definitely trying to get the others to improve their songwriting skills. While Lilia gets a lot of offers, he turns them down. If I’m honest, he’s probably going to quit being an idol after

Malleus is definitely taking the vocalist position, no question. He’s also probably taking the “least popular member of the group” position. Poor guy is seriously awkward on camera and has a chronic case of resting scary face. He takes center pretty frequently, half as an attempt to get him some more recognition- it’s not great cus he’s kinda a stiff dancer. He was fairly popular pre-debut for his extremely strange energy

Call me insane, but dancer Silver! He’s very physically capable, it’s just… you’ll catch him sleeping every time he’s not practicing. Definitely has insane muscle memory, he could do all his choreography with his eyes closed. He’s also an occasional vocalist, he’s got a nice soft voice. Sebek is always getting on him for “being lazy” but Silver usually just tells him to screw off.

Sebek gets rapper because he’s sooooo good at projecting and enunciating aggressively. It’s all the Malleus worship. I think he was a trainee at the same time as Malleus and was utterly obsessed with him, fan favorite for being So Weird All The Time.

I’ll be so real, if the song made me feel gorgeous it went on the list. They kinda reek of 3rd gen Kpop? This is definitely Lilia’s fault. But I’m so here for it the nostalgia go CRAAAZY. Also they are VIXX thanks.

trey is malay bc im projecting and also technically my adik (<- it means younger sibling in malay ok dont come for me) brought it the hc up once and im convinced. his malay name would be like syed or wan or something idk look i know hes "normal" but he is not an adam to me okay

Twisted Wonderland random headcanons

Kalim will wake up in the weirdest positions possible (butt in the air, one arm off the bed, legs on the wall, neck almost snapping type of position)

Lilia and Cater listen to Kpop, Metal, Rock, Indie, Scene, Emo, Punk, Dance/Electronic, Pop

Vil snorts but hides it (unless you’re Yuu)

Azul has stretch marks

Malleus has a gargoyle plushie and shows Yuu (Yuu has a matching plushie)

Kalim always wants to learn new henna designs and Jamil does the actual process for the first time for each new design then Kalim tries it on Jamil (even after Jamil protests)

Ace has a squeeze chicken toy for entertaining Yuu and the rest of the first years

Lilia shares a new fact (either about himself or just random) everyday to Yuu

Kalim blasts music in the shower and dances (taking an hour or 2)

When Malleus gets super happy, flowers start to bloom, including on his head

Heartslabyul collectively judge Riddle for having a love for math

Lilia tries to talk like the younger ones and will say “like the kids say?” Or “how the youngsters say, right?” With a smile on his face

Malleus likes all ice cream but his favorite(s) are the ones Yuu likes

Cater paints his nails fun colors and shows it to Yuu and MagicCam

Cater has more photos in his camera roll of his friends rather than posted photos

Silver cuddles with a plushie that Yuu got him, also cuddles with a plushie and blanket Lilia got him

Trey pranks Yuu randomly and blames it on Ace and Duece (Yuu knows it’s Trey)

Ruggie and Deuce obviously have street smart but Cater has some type of street smart too, Ace is learning from Deuce but has a little prior knowledge but very small amount

Kalim has some sarcastic and snarky thoughts but sometimes (very rarely) they slip out under his breath

Yuu and Ortho put stickers on each other’s foreheads randomly, then Kalim joins

Yuu has a memory box of stuff they receive over the school year

i’ve been brainrotting about it recently, so here are some assorted thoughts:

so you know how there are certain games and media that incorporate music into their battles or fighting? like rhythm games or hypnosis mic? think of an mc that fights,,, with their voice.. they already sort of use their singing to help in certain situations, but i mean actually battling.

learning different strategies and songs for certain situations, practicing or “sparring,” either with a partner or by themselves, learning which songs can pacify, which can harm, and which can heal, learning how different tempos and pitches change their impact. memorizing those songs by heart, and in the heat of battle, pulling just the right notes and lyrics to completely demolish their enemies with just a song.

imagine yuu learning as they go through their years at night raven, honing their skills until they’re able to heal or power up their allies, or demolish entire armies with hellfire or powerful shockwaves, just from a song.

on that note, a yuu that plays an instrument!

i think that would make their songs all the more powerful, since the accompanying melody boosts the power of the lyrics. (bard yuu lol) the characters that play an instrument would definitely want to do a duet. there's not much to say ab it i just think it's neat.

cater, kalim, and lilia are ECSTATIC, every cult member and/or yuu stan is clamoring to join the club (but oopsie daisy unfortunately we can’t fit any more members in our band :) sorry~)

and also yuu is banned from singing the Forbidden Tunes during club activities, for safety reasons

but they’re still a great singer! along with cater’s voice, lilia’s guitar skills, and kalim’s drumming, they make for a harmonic team. the band both writes their own music and does covers. (do you think that because twst is a disney game, any twst song or any song written in tw is a Lyric?? could yuu literally just write their own spells????!)

and the club does shows every once in a while! they even get cool themes and costumes. (tickets sell out shockingly fast, it’s brutal (azul is punching the air))

possible band names could be: siren and the songbirds (personal fave), nightingale(s), fantasia, and sirensong

me beating my boyband(gn)/faux kpop group au urges back with a stick

yuu does regular performances at the mostro lounge!

sometimes they’re planned, sometimes they’re a surprise event, and sometimes yuu just gets up on stage and starts busting out the tunes

occasionally, it’ll be a big event, one that you have to buy a ticket/reserve a seat for. and the lounge is decorated and yuu has a fancy schmancy outfit and all that good stuff~

but most of the time it’s a more casual (as casual as mostro lounge can get, anyways) thing. it’s a regular night at the lounge, yuu is wearing a simple yet lovely outfit, and they’re up on the stage crooning some relaxing jazz~

azul is having the time of his life raking in that sweet sweet cash and some sweet sweet eye candy, floyd has had to be held back several times from hopping onto the stage, jade is just enjoying the music, and every yuu stan is either dying of happiness, or crying themselves to sleep (if they didn’t manage to snag a ticket/reservation)

(i like to think that pomefiore (mostly just rook and vil, really) and/or crewel does yuu’s hair, makeup, and overall styling)

hey anon yeah i love you also i am about to be so annoying i might need to hide this under a "read more" (future me here. yeah i did)

1. Crypto (obviously)

- everything about him (besides current lore 😒) is perfect to me i love backstories that include a wanted criminal aspect and the fact he is wanted but innocent just adds so much more flavor & i think the whole "to break the game i must do it from the inside" idea is badass. i also love all the familial themes surrounding his backstory i love that for the most part he is a cold and calculated person but despite being jaded due to all the misfortune that happened to him in life he still cares about his family and the few people he allowed to get closer to him, that he still has the capability to do that in the first place even when it has hurt him before.

- i love the whole crypto is just a protective mask to hide tae joon park and i like to treat them as 2 separate people. my gripe is that i wish we learned more about tae joon park, but i also sorta like that it leaves room for fans to interpret who tae joon park is on their own. from the very small bits & pieces it does seem like tae joon park is an overall softer more caring & trusting person compared to the closed off, on edge person that is crypto and it makes me all emo that all the unlucky shit that happened to him in life caused him to resort to being coldhearted and distrustful even when (i personally think) he doesnt want to

- also his design fucking rips idc. maybe im just a big jacket enjoyer but its so fun, it makes sense for his personality and the cybernetics ARE SOOOOO FREAKING GNARLY they r both sexy and lore important i love it

- for issues the most obvious one is FORCING A CHEMISTRYLESS ROMANCE BETWEEN HIM AND YOU KNOW WHO. i FUCKING HATE that they have written such an intriguing backstory for him & DONT DO ANYTHING WITH IT WITHOUT IT HAVING TO INCLUDE WATTSON. i hate how they cannot be their own separate characters and have to always have their stories intertwined in some way its like the writers are allergic to making them hang out with literally anyone else. kill code as boring as it was came so fucking close to that but the recent radio play had to ruin it because of course. of fucking course.

- i also hate the completely unnecessary age retcon. i hate that it frames him as a supergenius computer whiz at a young age. he was so much more likeable & easier to sympathize with as a completely normal office worker that just wanted to provide for him & his sister, only for it to bite him in the ass when he did literally nothing to deserve it. i hate having yet another character in their early 20s in this already oversaturated age range in media as a whole.

- i hate that with every lore update hes involved in it just further mutilates his character. i hate that i cant be excited when my FAVORITE CHARACTER gets lore attention because it just provides more opportunity for the writers to stomp on him. they dont care about him as his own character. they care about him in regards to the relationships he has with other people. thats not how u write a compelling, likeable, or realistic bond between people. it makes me so mad i wanna SCREAM

- anyway crypto tae joon park is my pookie bear he is autistic and he likes dragons and cats and kpop and elliott and being a good friend to the point of sacrificing himself i like him normally also he is my oc now

2. Mirage (obviously)

- mirage is just an objectively likeable character truly like there is a reason he is essentially the face of apex. he was my first favorite & for good reason. u get lured in with his endearing goofiness & then get smacked in the face with one of the most tragic and completely undeserved backstories. maybe im just a slut for characters that "wear masks" & have completely polarizing versions of themselves as a self preservation tactic because i love Mirage being the self absorbed, smooth, attention-seeking bastard on screen and i love love LOVE Elliott Witt with his crippling fear of loneliness and inferiority complex, slowly losing the things that mattered most in his life and feeling like it was somehow his fault & he deserves it

- but i dislike the flanderization hes facing in current lore. i dont remember the last time he was anything other than the goofy guy with a stutter that cant take things seriously. that old comic of him losing his friends because of his own douchebaggery & working to fix his wrongs is my prized possession. he is hurt & lonely & it causes him to lash out on people that dont deserve it and i wish they explored that more. i desperately need more asshole mirage in my life. nowadays he just feels like the one-note silly character whos only purpose is to fill in the comic relief role.

- also he has some of the worst fans ive ever seen im sorry they were like the main reason he stopped being my favorite. they baby him like he has never done nothing wrong in his entire life & in turn shit on characters like wraith or vantage bc they were "mean to him." as if he isnt capable of being an asshole, as if there isnt an entire comic dedicated to him being an asshole. i also hate that fans either lean in 100% into his mirage personality or 100% into his elliott witt personality. he is either a loudmouthed egotistical slut or an innocent wittle mamas boy that needs to be protected at all times never anything outside or in between and it drives me insane.

- shes still my sweetie pie. my biggest kin. i love writing him sooo much. i want to chew him. i want to set him on fire. i want to tuck him in and give him a forehead kiss before he goes to bed.

3. Conduit

- im filipino of course im gonna be biased but hellooooo she is also just so likeable it is insane!! a sweet, goofy fangirl we can relate to that is literally killing herself just to provide for her family ouch it hurts GIVE ME MORE. all her little easter eggs and her fun voicelines like the devs really really loved & cherished her & it shows & she deserves it! my main issue is that it is literally her season rn yet all they care about is revenant Revenant REVENANT give me more conduit! what is her story with her family? hows her sister in particular holding up? how does she cope with her illness? will she ever open up about it to any of the legends? are they ever going to try to help her? is crypto gonna help find her a cure like he did caustic & then they kiss

4. Lifeline

- love her. love her personality. a medic that also isnt afraid to get her hands dirty & chew ppl out? love that for her. i also like where the current lore has been taking her (me? liking current lore? what a shocker), the fact that she was willing to destroy one of her strongest & longest bonds to defeat a greater evil? BANGER. she hurt people & she made sacrifices to get to this point but what does she get from it? a best friend that doesnt want to speak to her & a whole fucking army of murderous robots that want her dead. i wonder if shell have a "is this really what i wanted? did i just fuck everything up?" internal crisis cuz atp i feel like she has to. id love to see it

- also i am no.1 lifeline defender idgaf the demonization shes facing in the fandom for hurting their pookie wookie bear octane is so blatant and laughable u ppl really hate black women. its ok for ur favorite male character to make questionable morally gray decisions but got forbid ajay does it. gtfo of here!

5. Rampart

- just another objectively likeable character plsss she is sooo funny & sassy and there is not a single rampart interaction/relationship she has with another legend that i hate. she also has the biggest wasted potential ever. they were cooking something so good with big sister and ramparts relation to her & NEVER DO ANYTHING WITH JT. its been 13 seasons and nothing has progressed in her lore and its so so sad. she needs a focus season soon. u dont just drop a fun character with an intriguing backstory and just ditch it.

Jesus BPP. I didn't believe there was anything like a company stan until I found this page. This is supposed to be a professional music review page and notice what's going on here: ALL the albums that aren't associated with SM get shit ratings and only Shinee, Kai, and other SM artists get glowing reviews. I wish that was the only problem but in their reviews against Jimin, NewJeans, Jungkook, the reviews are filled with kpoppie rumors, thinly veiled hate to spread controversies outside kpop circles, and there's a whole army of SM stans in the comments under each negative review for other non-SM artists basically agreeing with them. I'm just so amazed at how organized and dedicated kpop stans are to hate in every platform in every way, the way they behave is so insidious. If you're right that BTS ARMY developed to counter those efforts, no wonder the BTS fandom acts like it does. My god I felt goosebumps going through that SM stans page. Is there any way to change these behaviors?

Like I've been saying, whatever behaviours you find in ARMY, I promise you it's significantly worse in other / older k-pop fandoms. And that the dominant behaviours you find here are made by decades of fandom norms created by fans of Big 3 groups, and all those behaviours are structurally supported by the companies. It's the unspoken rule for SM Entertainment for example, that the success, fame and acclaim of individual artists should never eclipse that of the agency, i.e. the company branding is the point of the artist's success. Lee Soo-Man has explicitly said this several times over the years and this is a philosophy that drives practically everything about how SM promotes their artists, to date. Literally the first time I saw "company stan" being used in a conversation about 10 years ago, it was used as a compliment and in reference to stans of SM groups.

In the hyper-competitiveness of k-pop, it's no surprise that the fans of SM groups carry that animus for BTS and by extension groups under HYBE, outside k-pop spaces to further handicap groups they consider as a hindrance to SM's success. Basically, these people have been conditioned, and now they willingly partake in behaviours we can all see to be insane.

Personally, I just find the whole thing hilarious. I suggest you ignore people like the 'reviewer' you linked. Anyone who actually cares about the music eventually finds what they're looking for, and those with the mental capacity to critically think and sift through bullshit, also eventually navigate the madness that is k-pop fandom, successfully. It's true some people might become radicalized by the bullshit, but that can't be helped. I hope you don't get jaded, just keep engaging as honestly as you can with the media created here. There's a lot of gunk but the gems are truly worth it. In my opinion.

Little baskets appear on the dining room table for the late-night patrols and the first light patrols. Long before the chef is in the kitchen making breakfast. The rumors swirl around headquarters about being visited by a ghost and Edgar is dead set on finding out who this Pastry ghost is.

As the moon rises in the sky above Cradle, the lights go out throughout the Red Headquarters, signaling the start of lights out and bedtime. Very few people have permission to be up and moving around during this time. Moving silently through the darkened corridor, Edgar walks to the kitchen on a very important mission, to find the pastry ghost.

“Did you hear it happened again?” The whispers of his soldiers run through his mind. The whispers are all over the Red Army, the soldiers puzzled about who keeps leaving little baskets on the dining room table for the soldiers on night patrol and first shift.

"Have you heard of the pastry ghost?" The whispering of his men had caught the attention of both him and the passing King. This isn’t the first time the King had heard the rumors, and Edgar is well aware of the rumors for a few weeks now.

"What do you mean pastry ghost?" Lancelot demands, raising his eyebrows at the soldiers.

"Sorry my King, we did not mean to gossip" the soldiers seem to be startled at being caught, bowing to the King in front of them and Edgar’s eyes brighten in mischief.

“Come now, surely if you are stopping work to gossip, it is something worth telling everyone” his voice holds a hidden command and the soldiers nod in agreement.

"There are rumors that the night and first shift are getting special treatment." One of the soldiers explains before another picks up and spills more information.

"There are small baskets full of breakfast for the soldiers who leave for the first shift and those that come back from the night shift."

"The food is supposedly really delicious and everyone is wondering who does it, the head chef is never up and the kitchen is always dark and empty during the shift change." The more information comes out the more speculations arise.

"Who would break lights out?"

"Everyone seems so awake and there isn't anyone who looks tired"

Pulling himself from the memory as he approached the dining room, Edgar is greeted by a gentle feminine voice singing. Sneaking through the room and creeping closer to the kitchen, he finds Alice singing and dancing in the night. A mischievous smile makes his way to his face as he leans against the door to watch her.

“You know it is past lights out, right Alice” with her back to the door, Alice jumps at the voice.

“Edgar-” Her voice is a near whisper as she turns around, guilt written all over her face. Walking to her, Edgar traps her between the counter and his body, watching Alice’s blush grow deeper the closer he gets.

“Who would have thought our dear Alice was the Pastry ghost” he grins, taking the muffin from her hand. As the flavors melt on his tongue, he watches her face, all the emotions flickering across it. Leaning into her ear his signature grin appears.

“What if I helped you make all the treats? No one has to know yet and we can send the best treats to Jonah and Zero?” Edgar’s jade eyes shimmer with mischief and Alice raises an eyebrow.

“What do you want to do to the treats?” Her suspicion has Edgar laughing as he takes off his uniform top and rolls up his sleeves.

“I am not going to do anything dearest Alice, you are going to show me how to make these treats, and then we are going to go deliver them to the others.” Not convinced that Edgar isn’t going to do something, Alice makes a silent promise to watch the Jack, knowing full well he will not pass up an opportunity to tease Jonah or Zero.

Nonetheless, she guides Edgar through her plans, showing him the light breakfasts and lunches she is making for the soldiers. Something that they can eat when they get their basket and something that can refuel them halfway until their next meal. Edgar watches as she moves around the kitchen, completely comfortable and making each part with care.

"How long have you been doing this?" Edgar asks while Alice shows him how to properly knead the dough, she pauses for a minute before giving a small smile.

"Since my second week here. I used to only do it for the night shift. They are usually so tired after their shift that they skip breakfast, and don't have the energy needed to do much before lunch. But I also knew when you were that tired and exhausted, a heavy meal isn't good on the stomach, so I started making really light but filling breakfasts for them. It has only expanded since then to those leaving for patrol too. They are gone until lunch, so they don't get breakfast either." Resuming her kneading, Edgar looks over at her. Her smile was radiant as she put each little basket together, humming a different tune as she writes each soldier a note.

“What should we make for the others?” Edgar asks, watching as she lays the baskets on the dining room table. Her eyes look over the ingredients, her mind racing with the combinations.

“I have an idea, but you are not touching either of Jonah or Zero’s baskets” narrowing her eyes at Edgar, he laughs. She can’t look fierce no matter how hard she tries. Watching her narrow her eyes at him, he snorts when she tries to look mad at him. Wrapping an arm around her, he picks up one of the muffins from the counter and presses it to her lips.

“Hard workers get a treat, Alice” Edgar teases and Alice takes the treat from his hand, refusing ot let Edgar feed her.

“Then you better not take a treat Ed” Alice huffs, though a fond smile breaks her stern look. The two bicker quietly to each other as the baskets are made under Alice’s watchful eye, making sure nothing untoward is put in any of the officer's baskets by the mischievous Jack. Just as the baskets are done, and the kitchen is cleaned, Edgar pulls Alice into a hidden tunnel nearby.

“Shhh, we have company” He murmurs, pressing her against the wall and caging her behind him. No sooner after they are hidden than the door flies open and a figure storms into the kitchen. Amber eyes cast over the room, a scowl on his face. Alice quietly shudders at the glare of the Queen, happy she didn’t have to face a grumpy Jonah on this night.

“Is there anyone in the kitchen, Jonah?" Lancelot's voice calls from the dining room, and Alice hides deeper behind Edgar, burying her face in his back. Edgar shields her watching with calculating eyes.

“No, the baskets are already set up too, we missed him again” Jonah growls, slamming the kitchen door as the footsteps retreat. Waiting for the footsteps to disappear, Edgar finally lets Alice go, a smile slipping on his face.

“Well that was entertaining” Edgar whispers in Alice's ear and Alice just shakes her head, letting out a sigh of relief. Getting caught by Edgar is completely different than getting caught by King Lancelot or Jonah. Picking up the baskets, she starts to put them on the dining room table in a pile with each rank marked clearly on it. When she returns for more, Edgar stops her, twirling a pen in his hand.

“Wouldn’t it be easier to place them on the doors?” Edgar challenges and Alice lets out a giggle, picturing Jonah's face. Shaking her head at him, she scoops up the baskets again, giving some to Edgar to hold. Opening the door for Alice, he shoots her a wink.

“Come, let's go haunt the others now too”

i know i already had a big whinge about how bizarre a choice it was to make a parody kpop group such an integral part of a video game that is supposed to be about the 90s and early 2000s but since we still seem to be zeroing in on the male jade worldbuilding thread for some reason i feel like i also need to question why a “boy band” was chosen as one of our main avenues of exploration into a planet that ostensibly has different gender roles to our own. and in what way does the presence of a boy band so close to the foreground contribute to joey claire’s personal story. she’s from the earth in the 90s she’s experienced boy bands before. where are the girls for her to interact with

like 1) as a creative writing major, i would say you write in a hella compelling and unique way which makes what you write interesting, 2) so many of those comments turn multi-faceted decisions and characterizations into one-sided nothingness when just reading your fic shows how wrong that is

also, would prefer to be a 13 yr old writing kpop fanfic over some jaded asshole writing hate messages.

i dont typically do like personal notes for fanfics (feels too close to unwanted commenting), but i feel actual notes about what youve been doing would be nicer than the comments youve gotten. so here are some of the notes i’ve made while reading

you write depressive struggle intensely accurately. i was in a depressive episode when i started reading and literally saw myself in moments.

the three storyline thing is very much reminding me of a much more compelling version of what the ‘the hours’ by michael cunningham does, which has three altering povs throughtout the book.

i think my favorite part of reading your writing is the surface thoughts of whoevers pov it is, it feels natural and really sways the way ive seen each scene. close second is your dialogue which is beautiful and very true to life without ever feeling expository.

these characterizations are unique to the version youve created, as they always are with au fanfics, but they still feel true to the canon characters. their core personality traits do shine through at moments very similar to when they shone through in canon and that consistency can be hard to nail but you seem to do it effortlessly.

you've kind of given me the perfect jumping off point to just throw a lot of updates and ramblings in one spot bc truthfully i do not feel right posting normal posts and taking up space with things that are trivial in the grand scheme of things. i genuinely don't have the brain capacity for much else these days besides keeping up with palestine/congo/sudan etc related updates + the occasional few hours where i can watch a movie or a show without feeling guilty

(general life update dump below so beware bc i talk a lot)

brief mental state check in but i am not doing well! not just with the weight of the world but with everything else in my life lmao. pretty much everyone who knows me knows that the holidays/the winter are the roughest months for me so i'm usually radio silent :/ this year has been... so rough and i don't know why every year feels worse than the last but it really truly does! i'm particularly lonelier this year and it's honestly my fault. idk how to reach out to people when i'm so isolated tbh i feel like a burden at all times especially now that most of the people i used to talk to daily online and irl are doing way better than me and i'm just. always stuck here in this really shitty space i can't seem to get out of no matter how hard i try

i don't talk about my problems a lot online but like. after losing my childhood pet and then getting accepted to two different programs in one year (grad school and community college) and having to drop out of both AND dealing with a decline in my mother's health AND my grandmother's cancer scare AND my own financial issues AND unemployment i'm just exhausted. because of all of this i truly don't know how to function like a normal person or make friends or keep friends anymore i'm just miserable tbh

okay i know this is a hard pivot, but i thought i could just compile things that have brought me a little bit of happiness that i haven't talked about here! it's all on me to feel like this, but i have intense guilt about posting anything not related to current events, so this is my way around that! so.. enjoy i guess <3

fixated on kpop this year and listened to 30 groups whole discography! i actually counted and it was exactly 30 lmao ask me ab my fav groups and biases if you dare

started drinking tea every day :)

redecorating my apartment and it's so much cozier now

i've become more of a snoopy/peanuts fanatic :)

to build on the new years resolution, i've added quite a few horror franchises under my belt :) my horror tag on letterboxd is roughly 250 now!

i think i'm finally breaking my lifelong nail biting habit??? fingers crossed!

buying more things secondhand and feeling way better about it! mostly clothes and dvds but me and my partner are huge fans of knick knacks

have tried a lot of new food this year :) and am cooking new recipes a lot more too!

went to the beach for vacation for the first time in ten years <3 went to this cool little record store and got a band recommendation from the owner that's now one of my underground favs!

celebrated ten years with my partner this year and although it's been such a rough year for the both of us and we're not nearly where we ever thought we'd be, we're more solid now than we've ever been!!! i really would not have made it through this year without them

honestly this year has been a blur 90% of the time so there's obviously been more little things that make me happy but! it's been a big year for consuming media bc i don't have much energy for creating anymore unfortunately

Mari and Kei are both under the same company so they get to interact a lot esp. For group collabs/crossovers, Kei usually gets to collab with her due to his anxiety. While I drew Mari messing with him, she usually babies him like most people in his life. Kei does pick on her back like typical lil brothers, but usually wants to make her proud. Mari is a few years older than Kei and has been an idol longer. She starts off more popular, but Kei eventually rockets past her(no bad blood but Kei doesn't believe that he is popular/famous). uh they are normal siblings they like to bully each other sometimes, but if fuck with the one the other will break your legs.

Originally Mari was completely different. She started roughly the same like idol shit thinking its cute and fun. Goes thru training and see its not as like its on tv, but thinks it gets better. it doesnt and she becomes jaded hating the industry. she only stays in to help other girls to avoid some of the bigger problems in the industry and shes already this deep in/kei is now part of the industry and wants to try and keep a closer eye on him. she wouldn't experience any of the dark aspects just becoming aware of it and upset she cant do much about it. she also was part of a larger group of 5-9 girls. She was also blonde like Kei, shorter hair(but still straight), and missing her dolly lashes. i feel like current mari fits the dynamic more with kimmy and sky absorbing some of those part of mari. i also at the time didnt want to get into those darker parts of the idol industry at that moment.

Mari in her idol group. Kimmy and Sky are part of the group. Since Lovelyz is already a kpop group name I think their group will be "The Lovers" and their fans will be "Cupids". Their concept is that they are angels to spread love on Earth. They wanted to avoid dating rumors so they have Sky be the love interest or other pretty girls. For that reason, they have a large sapphic audience which works for them since they are all wlw. Sky and Kimmy are dating each other and Mari has an actress gf. Kimmy is the "leader" of the group, but reaally sky and kimmy colead and mari just follows along. tho when they are promoting in english speaking countries or events kimmy takes change since she is originally from the states. Kimmy was born in the states, but also lived in japan (shes black and japanese). Sky was born in japan, but studied abroad for a bit in the states. Mari is japanese and has lived in japan he entire life(just like kei has). Mari picks up english phrases from kimmy/kimmy teaches them english slang kinda like yunjin from le sserafim(and mari is chaewon lmao).

They make the cutesy bubblegum pop kpop or also called christian horse girl kpop ive found out lmao. They sometimes will go into a darker or sexy concept usually for magazines or brands. i do think as the girls mature they do switch concept a bit to be a bit more mature. They do get out of nugu, but not for long. They still have a decent following that is extremely devoted.

Gilbert von Obsidian

At first glance, Gilbert was an unshakeable man, all sinister charm hidden behind fake smiles. The evil he was capable of barely simmering beneath the surface.

When he visits Rhodolite under the guise of a diplomatic trip to repair the quickly souring Obsidianite and Rhodolite relationship, he ends up requesting you to be his guide during his stay.

After all, he already has suspicions about your stay in the Castle. Your outlook on things is just so different from all of the nobles around him.

You’re supposed to be guiding him around the Castle, so how does he end up being the one that leads you around?

But as each day passes by, he starts to look forward to being the one to cause that timid smile to form on your face. You’re still apprehensive around him, sure, but who wasn’t?

He just can’t help but fixate on your plump, soft lips whenever you call out his name.

“Prince Gilbert… Prince Gilbert? Are you alright? You’re looking a little dazed.”

And although his recovery is clumsy at best, he manages to play it off. But he knows that he’s never been so enraptured by someone before.

As he drifts off to sleep that night, his subconscious is swarmed with thoughts of your captivating lips wrapped around his length, tongue swirling around the head until he was uttering curses as he neared his release.

But it doesn’t just stop there. Not only is he captivated by your lips, but he’s also particularly appreciative of your shapely rear. Thank the gods that he gets to run his cane all along your sensitive flesh before he strikes down in one fluid motion, watching as you cry out for him.

And the next day, when he wakes up, undergarments spent with his release, he curses to himself as he realizes just how out of hand his “minor” obsession with you has become.

That’s why when you knock on his door, ready to do your duties of guiding him around the palace, he pulls you into his room and traps you in his arms instead, garnet eye gleaming with unbridled heat.

“You know, little bunny, hasn’t anyone ever told you it’s dangerous to get too close to a tiger?”

Keith Howell

The sweet and meek Prince of Jade, Keith Howell, wasn’t typically one for taking bold risks.

But the more he saw you, with your pretty hair and lovely smile, the more he wanted to be around you.

And so, he’s infinitely grateful to his dear friend, Yves, when the latter starts inviting him to regular tea parties with you. In fact, just call Yves the ultimate wingman as he sometimes wanders off, leaving the two of you alone, mumbling about needing to double-check if Clavis had broken into his room or not.

It gives Keith the perfect opportunity to admire you in all of your pure, captivating beauty and admire you he does. It’s only when you catch him in the act and offer him one of those smiles he adores so much is when he looks away, cheeks aflame, stammering an incoherent apology to you.

In fact, he’s so captivated by you that even the more sinister side of him becomes curious. His golden eyes sparkle as he examines you, bit by bit, no longer averting his gaze when you catch him in the act.

“P—Prince Keith? Is there something on my face?” You ask, hands flying to your cheeks immediately, rubbing at whatever was causing the olive-haired man to gaze at you.

“No, I just somehow find myself drawn to you every time you’re around… is this what love feels like?” He drawls, reaching out a gloved finger to grab a piece of your silken strands.

“W—what?!”

“I jest, of course. There’s no way someone as lovely as you would be interested in someone like me,” he says, gaze immediately softening as that switch in him flicked back on. “Let us continue eating these lovely darioles you’ve made.”

And yet, when he falls asleep that night, all he dreams about is him ravaging you, sucking your supple skin between his lips until he left mark after mark, until every inch of your body was covered in him.

Of course, when he was finally happy with his handiwork, he’d grab you close and line up against your entrance, eager to feel your needy walls welcome him in.

It’s a damn shame that he only had a week left to his visit in Rhodolite… Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to let the darker side of him handle you until his departure. After all, that heat in your gaze from his brazenness yesterday was unmistakable.

Silvio Ricci

As the Benitoitian Prince that can get everything and anything he wants, Silvio is utterly stunned when you refute his advances.

After all, he’s tried his best to charm (insult) you, and it usually works on all the women back in Benitoite – you should have been honoured to be called his pet!

Not to mention that annoying blonde servant you have around you at all times, glaring at him as though he were the scum of the earth. It’s a look Silvio is familiar with, but how could a man like that be someone you willingly keep around you?

No matter how many jewels he attempts to throw at you for a night of guaranteed pleasure with him, or the amount of money he offers you, you don’t give in, and it is infuriating.

Maybe that’s why you start visiting him in his dreams, taunting him, letting him have a ghost of a taste before drawing away from him. Your bare body singing to him like the sweetest siren song, all curves, and supple skin.

And then when he finally catches you, he gleefully realizes that despite how frustrated you make him, you really do taste just as sweet as you look, and he just can’t get enough.

Even in his sweetest dreams, you toy with him, teasing him until he’s wrapped around your pinky. He even lets you put a collar on him, just as long as you promise him to be his.

When he finally has your shapely legs wrapped around his torso, thrusting into you as the golden chains that hang from his neck swing above your face, he swears that he could give up everything he had just to keep indulging in your body.

But reality is a harsh slap in the face for him as he wakes up from his dream, body glistening with sweat, fists clenched at his sides.

All he could do for a bit of relief is fist his hardened length, sliding his hand up and down until he felt his release coat his digits, rasps of your name still hot on his tongue as he imagined how euphoric it would feel being inside you.

Despite all of the frustrations you brought him, there was no way he was leaving Rhodolite without having a taste of you. After all, he was the Prince that could get anything and anyone, and that includes you.
