ft. unchecked ambition to recreate of the hardest Kpop dances (only in vain), lots of code debugging, and using Yeolpumta the wrong way
💻 Internship // progress tracker
-> detecting pockets in protein structures using 3diff pipelines -> finding consensus pockets using outputs of pipelines -> pocket alignment of protein models by structural alignment with a set of known binding site structures -> read base paper -> weekly presentations [2/2] besides these tasks I've been trying to modify all my code files such that they can run directly from the system terminal (i hate edge cases and this entire process has taken years off my life) so that I can upload it on github
🎓 Uni Stuff
-> charted out a timeline for master's applications deadlines and related work
👟 Kpop dances!!
completed! 🔥bye bye ankles ⇒ I'd started this way before I messed up my ankle and then I abandoned it but we are so back... I picked it up last week and finally! it is done. 💪 bts' magnum opus ⇒ the main challenge is ensuring to hit every beat at the right speed and my rendition is still far from refined but hey. atleast my moves have developed some fluidity currently <3 🧢 left, right and just vibes ⇒ really needed a breather after the first two dances and now I'm here xD although the main reason I picked this dance was bc I loved the part switch version and all the references // ✅chorus + prechorus ⚡ crush...ing my motivation ⇒ so much for taking a breather. I've been obsessed with this song and I tried to start learning it and... four seconds- that's how much I've learnt in past three days. but the satisfaction when I got those four seconds? immeasurable. // ✅1st chorus pt1/3
💿 Other Things This week
📅 started my 18day habit challenge! by which I simply mean I'm using Yeolpumta as a daily tracker app rather than a study app and I'm loving it <3 I get excited seeing different colours marked on the daily calendar and as a consequence I've been more productive lately :D 🍊 been eating healthier! lots of fruit and water intake and I've also been learning to cook! 📖 The Myth of Sisyphus <3 I don't read a lot of non fiction but this piece is hella intruiging and I'm having a lot of fun 🍕 Lunch with the besties [x2] 🎰 Gaming Arcade shenanigans yet again 🎆 Fest at Uni! One of the best bollywood singers of all time showed up and he sang bangers from our childhood; we had a blast 🎧 lots and lots of kpop and for some reason I keep coming back to Advice by Taemin
[ 18th - 31st Mar; week 13+14/52 || and with that, 1/4th of this year is done. I'm pretty satisfied with how I how i spent the past two weeks, hopefully I'm able to stay consistent 🤞]

3/100 days of productivity! It rained the whole day today. Plus I got my period sooo was in bed most of the day. Managed to get some boring tasks done like light cleaning and organizing. I did not managed to work on my academic tasks, so I am in my bed doing some last min studying before going to bed. As you can see had a bit too much coffee, I'll be up for a while :')

Day 5 of my 100 days of studying challenge!
With my exams drawing nearer, I’ve been on complete panic mode. I woke up at 4, completed a huge chunk of computer networks. I then made further notes for human values, now I have notes ready for the entire syllabus, just need to memorise them. Then I started studying digital communication systems from scratch. I decided not to make handwritten notes for it as it would only waste more of my time.
Read further chapters from 'All about love' by Bell Hooks. The chapters were about spirituality with love, they didn’t really hold my attention. I skimmed through most of them.
Since I was studying at home, it was a rather lazy day. I went on a walk after dinner.
Today's jam was Oh No! by Marina
I really relate to the lyrics and find them extremely motivational!! 🩷

how to stay motivated long-term
trust, me i know that long-term motivation and consistency is hard. long-term motivation might be difficult to maintain, but there are effective techniques to help you stay focused and determined. whether you're seeking personal ambitions, academic achievements, or professional success, here are some strategies to help encourage motivation:
understand the reason behind your goal ☆ does your goal contribute to personal growth or meaningful relationships? ☆ how does your goal impact others? ☆ is your goal meaningful to you? if your goal lacks meaning, it may be hard to maintain motivation.
positive and negative motivation motivation can come from different places ☆ positive motivation: the desire to experience pleasure ☆ negative motivation: the desire to avoid something (an outcome) both types of motivation have their place, so learn to recognise what type fits in where. (post on this coming soon)
set up systems use your initial motivation to set up structures: ☆ create routines, systems and habits that help you towards your goal even when your motivation fluctuates ☆ when your emotions wane, rely on these systems and disciplines to maintain momentum
break down goals ☆ tackle one goal at a time to avoid feeling overwhelmed ☆ set achievable milestones and celebrate each step forward ☆ keep the momentum going by focusing on manageable tasks
validate good work ☆ give yourself a little reward, or thank yourself, for completing hard tasks ☆ this reinforces motivation and encourages effort

🎀 My That Girl Exam Success Checklist 💯

it's the day of (or before) your exam!! a gazillion thoughts may be running through your mind: should i review all my notes and flashcards one more time?? set my alarm super early to be sure to make it on time or set it super late so that i get as much sleep as possible?? let's prepare everything step by step calmly and together ☺️
The Night Before
pack your bag with everything you need — school ID, pens/pencils, erasers, rulers, calculators, extras of everything!!, brain food like nuts/chocolate, lunch, full water bottle, etc.
pick out a cute but comfy outfit — the goal is to feel as confident and laser-focused as possible!
don't skimp on your night routine — cramming does not take priority over a good night's sleep before an important day, so take care of your mind and body and trust them to take care of you too
skim the highlights/summaries/key flashcards just before bed — when you sleep, your mind is not idle! it's reorganizing and filing everything away neatly to be retrieved when you wake up, so do yourself a favor and take advantage of your mind's natural abilities!
double check your alarm — but more important than this is to go to sleep at a reasonable time that you can expect yourself to feel well-rested by the time you need to wake up, so whether you need 7, 8, 10 or more hours of sleep, go get it!! right now!! come back to this post in the morning to complete the rest of the checklist~
The Morning Of
eat breakfast(!!) — you can't think on an empty stomach!!
take your vitamins
drink water
stretch!! — get your blood flowing where it needs to go and get your energy levels up!! 💪
if you can, try not to consume anything else outside of your review materials before the exam that might confuse or preoccupy you! — sometimes it's unavoidable if it's part of your job or your other courses, so just take a quiet moment to bring your mind back to the material from time to time if necessary!
get to your exam location as early as possible you can chill and review~ (same idea as the night before, summaries, highlights, flashcards, don't get too bogged down by the details and confuse yourself at this point!)
Exam Time
arrange your desk neatly and comfortably so you can focus and find everything you need when you need it
deep breaths
one question at a time
even if it seems like you don't know or remember anything, the information will come back to you when you need it

i woke up around 9.30am today, and i have been super duper tired all day!! so not much productive has been done because i didn't need or want to today :p either way, i did manage to get 40 minutes of final revision for tomorrow's econ test (yes, a test on the first day back from christmas break) and i also cleaned out my pencil case, and my two school bags so i still consider it a productivity challenge success C:

🧘🏻‍♀️ my best life is lived in this world, not some other one i imagine. in this best life, i am learning how to be independent and self-sufficient as an aspiring bioinformatician working towards my BSc in life sciences. a worthy work in progress, even if the road is messy. i may be single and sooo not ready to mingle (somehow this is a salient thought recently...perhaps it's because it's february), but whatever i go through, i don't go through it alone, even if it may feel like it.
