I MADE IT
CHARACTER REF SHEETS
FINALLY I CAN SHARE THESE GUYS PROPERLY
:D
*ahem* Hello fellow fans and au makers! I am here to showcase my silly little au. Allow me to introduce you to our main characters:
Tumblr media
These are Sunset and Moonlight, from The Sunset and Moonlight show! Close ups and info dump below
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where to start where to start, okay, a general description of the AU should be good to start with yeah? Yeah
This is a swap au, but unlike what I usually see swap AUs do, this is less of a full personality swap and more of a ‘bend the characters to a point where they change roles’ thing.
NOW. THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES—
Sunset Rays Celestial-
Sun is a tired and apathetic guy. He would like to be left all alone in his room for the rest of his days, but that’s not really a good thing so he’s fine just living a calm and drama-free life.
His hobbies include cleaning, painting, sewing, and gaming. The cleaning has gotten embedded into his code to a concerning degree, he will clean a spot over and over for hours if he’s having a bad day. He got into art while he was undergoing “repairs”, he found painting to be a fun activity despite its messiness, and sewing has proven to be fruitful for his wardrobe. He’s gotten so good at these that he actually gets commissions and is paid very well. He prefers to draw with pastels and markers when he can. The video games are a shared hobby with his twin brother, Moon, they both play together sometimes. His favorite game is Cult of the Lamb.
He has a malfunction of sorts where his voice box will give out randomly and he’ll be unable to talk. It’s annoying but he doesn’t really mind, he has gotten really good at sign language from it. Plus, he uses it as an excuse to avoid talking to Moon whenever he gets the chance to.
The Computer absolutely hates his guts and has sent him off to various different dimensions. He’s acquainted with quite a few people and even has friends.
He has very good aim, both in video games and physically. He usually uses it to throw something at Moon to get his attention. Or to get him to leave him alone. Or to annoy him. Or just because. This has proved to be a really bad habit.
Despite being generally apathetic, he’s actually pretty good with emotions, being able to read them well on others and act accordingly.
He also knows magic.
Crescent Moonlight Celestial-
Moon is an energetic and nervous guy. He wants nothing more than to live happily with his brother. And do science, he’s a nerd.
His hobbies include science and gaming. On the side of science he specializes on robotics, programming, and inter dimensional studies, with some advanced physics as well. He’s a genius, basically. Gaming is a shared hobby between him and his twin brother, they both play together sometimes. He seems to have taken a liking to the Kingdom Hearts series, but Pokémon will forever have his heart.
The killing code is very much still in him, it manifests as heat on the back of his head and irritability. During a full kill code episode he’ll be extremely aggressive, on top of having increased physical capabilities and virtually no filter. He dreads having those and constantly checks his temperature. Independent from the kill code he has a bad temper.
He isn’t exactly a ‘people’s person’ yet due to having been the active Daycare Attendant for a few months he has grown acquainted with a few of the Pizzaplex animatronics. Montgomery took a liking to him. Because money.
Because of reasons he has a lot of bunkers on a lot of different parts of the world. He remembers them all thanks to the collection of tree branches he has picked up when he visited. These are jokingly called The Whacking Sticks (and is a genuine joke, he just likes collecting sticks)
He wanted to learn emotions better so he decided to find the code that controls emotions in himself and turned it on all the way. He’s starting to realize this wasn’t a good idea.
A master acrobat, he loves flying with the wire.
In case it wasn’t clear yet, Sun and Moon switch places in this au. Things may change, and I may come up with funny details later, but I hope you had fun reading this little introduction to my au
More stuff about them to come at some point!

REVERSE CURSE DAY!! Very underformed theory on what may happen: we’re gonna see more of what’s happening with billy leaving max alone and it’ll be ominous and concerning. Two, the eleven is heading off and I’m curious if she’ll still go alone this time. Jonathan is gonna be Not Handling the loss of powers, and also (this one more is out there) maybe he’s also possessed and to maintain spy qualities it was impossible for him to keep his powers and not immediately freak over will. Theory two, ?????idk maybe the mind slayer was so unknowable or unpleasant his mind shut itself down in defense????? Buuuuut it’s a good chance to Jonathan to learn to communicate/be with people sans comfort blanket (turns out I’m actually very bad at coming up with theories but I swear I also just woke up). Also I wonder what we’ll see now that Robin is no powers team confirmed(NANCY ILY BUT NOT EVERYONE THAT IS HIDING IS HIDING POWERS) . Even if she doesn’t show up it’s also very funny to me if Steve walks into scoops and she’s immediately like so you have powers huh. Buuuuut obviously Robin is iconic and I’m rooting for her joining the plot sooner ( Steve and Robin are shamelessly my favorite duo) (( but I do love curse reverse Jonathan and Steve energy! Also max and El friendship being well done and not the duffer’s favorite/only way to write female relationship which is stupid conflict and then miraculous bonding ) Also I love your season four observations, and the way the show would’ve been better in your hands!! No more Russia plot lines!! Also I think it would’ve been objectively very funny if Nancy and Jonathan both decided to do a last minute hurrah and fly out to Hawkins/Calif and they ended up both switching teams. Also imagine the insane opportunities of a will Joyce Mike Nancy and Argyle set up. Maybe Joyce isn’t there bc the show tries to respect it’s audience and has her present during El’s “““ arrest””” and she ends up accompanying her to the Nina Project. Then we still get to see Nancy the big sister which is a role that we don’t see often. Also I cannot believe they did an entire season badly trying to show our Hunt The Freaks and made up a new one instead dod using Jonathan. Who isn’t well liked, under mysterious circumstances got to bring his brother back to life, is always there when shit goes wrong, and also experiences class based ostracism. Because imagine the cool potential for a Steve and Jonathan dynamic and actual growth bc then they can finally go back to foils but with growth. Steve is kinda wierd now, Jonathan in some ways has things that Steve doesn’t, also they’re both the protectors of their respective band of kids and are both shown to have been distancing themselves from that role kinda. ANYWAY that’s not relevant but can’t wait fir the chapter tonight!!
Fic day!! And thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Now I am ridiculously excited to share the next couple of chapters! (Steve and Robin are also my favourite duo. Shh, don't tell the others.)
I'm still only at the end of episode three, so I can't say much, but oh my god the hilarity of Nancy and Jonathan just missing each other? That would have been pure gold. And I never even thought of it, but you're right, it would have made so much sense to have Jonathan be the target of a witchhunt, and given so many good character opportunities for him and Steve. I just feel so bad for him, like, very clearly the Duffers are wishing they could just write him out and he deserves so much better. I did not expect to get this attached to him after my first watchthrough, but here we are.
(Tangentially related: the beautiful and talented @daddygrandpaandthebeaver is, as we speak, working on a season 4 AU rewrite where the timeskip between s3 and s4 is three years instead of nine months, and Dustin is the one who's running a drama I mean, D&D club and gets a murder unfairly pinned on him and the Party and assorted friends and relatives have to assemble to save him from the torches and pitchforks, and I am so hype for that fic that it's unbelievable.)

“Wake me up when you’re done.”
“Alright, alright. I’m done.” Your body got up from your seat, but your gaze still glued on your laptop screen and hands on your keyboard. Your roommate groaned, marching her way to pull your hands away from the laptop.
“Yn, it’s a Friday night. Let’s go! Namjoon’s waiting for us downstairs.”
“Yea but,” You sighed, your eyes on your work, “I still have quite a lot of things to do. Maybe I’ll skip this party—“
“Like how you missed Hoseok’s birthday party? I’m sure he’s going to hunt you down later. You still have the weekends to complete your work and you’re already dressed up.”
You knew your roommate was right. You had agreed to go for this party since it was one of Namjoon’s close friends’ birthday. Though you weren’t close to the birthday boy, you were close to Namjoon and his girlfriend, who also happened to be your roommate - Miya.
“Okay, okay.” You quickly saved your work and turned your laptop off. “Let’s go.”
Miya squealed in excitement, linking her arm around yours as she pulled you towards the door. The two of you went down to meet Namjoon who had been patiently waiting for you to get down.
“Sorry for wait.” You gave an apologetic smile. “No worries! We’re still early. Good to miss the first few awkward minutes of the party.” He chuckled as he opened the car door to let you both in.
Miya truly hit jackpot with Namjoon. He was the whole package - athletic, smart and a gentleman. Miya was a great catch herself and you were thankful that she was your roommate.
Miya had been your roommate since freshmen year and ever since, you both always wanted to dorm together. Miya was very caring and gentle yet blunt at the same time. You both were awkward beings when you first met, and you were worried how dorm life would be with a stranger.
Thankfully, Miya, being the straightforward person, immediately went out with setting the ground rules together and suggested for a roommate date to get to know each other.
The rest was practically history.
Miya had been there for many of your significant memories in college - the good and the bad.
She was also there when you met Jungkook.
“Do you have any clubs in mind?”
“Actually, I do. I’m planning to sign up for track.”
Miya gasped and giggled in excitement, “No way, I want to join track too!”
“That’s cool! Shall we head over then?”
The two of you made your way to the track and field booth, sharing about what events you partake in. Miya was a hurdler while you weren’t. Nonetheless, it was pretty amazing to you two that you were both signing up for the track team.
“Hey freshies! Here to sign up?”
The two of you converse with the seniors to learn more about the try-outs and practice sessions.
“Psst,” Miya nudged you as you filled up the sign-up form, “On your left. Isn’t he cute?”
Your gaze turned to see a tall, buff boy, who seemed to be signing up for track as well. “He’s pretty cute.”
“I’m going to say hi. Wait for me.” Miya winked at you before approaching the boy - little did she know at that time that he was going to be her boyfriend.
“See you try-outs!” You smiled at the senior as you handed the form.
Your eyes wandered around the nearby booths as you waited for Miya to come back.
“I’ll just look around.” You mouthed at her when she turned to make eye contact with you.
“Hey! Interested to join Photography club?”
“Freshies! Come join the Badminton club!”
The atmosphere was completely chaotic with seniors shouting at the top of their lungs to promote their club. Slightly disoriented from the ruckus, you had bumped into a stranger.
“I’m so sorry—“
“So sorry about that—“
The two of you took a step back to meet each other’s eyes. “Sorry about that.” The black-haired boy gave a sheepish grin as he rubbed the nape of his neck. “I was kinda too excited to sign up for a club.”
“No worries, it’s my fault as well. I wasn’t looking.”
“All’s good. B-But… Any chance that you happen to know where the track and field club booth is at?”
Your eyes widened slightly in amusement, “Yea I do. I was just about to head back to meet my friend.”
“Oh! Could I follow you there?”
“Sure.”
Your eyes took a quick once-over, it wasn’t hard to notice that his built was athletic, donned in sweats and an oversize black shirt, this guy looked like the poster boy of college dudes.
“My name’s Jungkook. What’s yours?”
“Yn. Did you run track before college?”
“Yep, I do 4x100s.”
“Oh, same here!” You flashed a smile. “Wow, what a coincidence that I’d bump into you huh.” Jungkook chuckled and you did the same. “Must be a sign that we’ll both be teammates.”
“Not a bad sign at all.”
“Yn!” Miya waved her hand wildly amidst the crowd. “I was about to leave the booth to go find you! What booths did you— Oh hi, I’m Miya, you are?”
“Jungkook. Nice to meet you. You must be the friend yn was going back for.”
Miya gave you a subtle look which you chose to ignore that day.
“Jungkook,” Miya grinned, “It’s nice to meet you too!”
“Speaking of the party, yn, you know Jungkook will be there as well, right?”
“Yes, this is the tenth time you’ve told me that.”
“Sorry, just another reminder before we pull up to the party.”
Besides having a ton of workload to do, you also had another reason for having second thoughts.
That reason was Jungkook.
“Thanks for your concern. But it’s been a year, I’m long over it.”
“That’s great to hear, I’m proud of you yn.” Namjoon piped in as he parked the car. “And we,” He placed his hand on Miya’s, “Should trust our friend’s word.”
Miya glanced at you before sighing, “Alright. I do. Now, let’s go greet the birthday boy.”
The three of you left the car and made your way to the party venue. The birthday boy was clearly loaded as the venue was huge. You jaw dropped in awe, “Why is this party so extravagant?”
“Good thing our birthday gifts are more drinks.” Miya nudged you and you laughed, nodding your head.
You were all greeted with blaring music from the stereo and neon lights to add into the ambience. People had already begun drinking and some were busy eating dinner.
“Yn!! I missed you!” A very familiar voice erupted as you spotted a figure rushing towards you.
“Hoseok!” You grinned, extending your arms out for a hug.
“You didn’t come to my party!” He pouted as he pulled away. “But I visited the next day as a surprise!” You defended yourself.
“That’s true… Still feels like forever since I saw you.” Hoseok pulled you back in for a hug.
The four of you made your way to one of open rooms which had been turned into a buffet area. You had helped yourself to the wide array of food and found a table to eat with your friends.
“We have a new hurdler joining us. He’s our batch but he only joined the club this try-out round.” Namjoon filled you in since you were the only non-hurdler in your group.
“Oh, who is it?”
“Kim Taehyung.”
“Wait, Kim Taehyung? Isn’t he from table tennis?”
Namjoon shrugged his shoulders, “Guess he wanted to try something new. I was there during try-outs and he’s a really fast runner.”
Since it was a huge party and you weren’t close to the birthday boy, you didn’t need to spend the night entertaining the main character of the night.
To make full use of the amenities at the booked venue, the four of you started playing different rounds of games.
You were paired with Hoseok against Miya and Namjoon. The first round was charades and you lost to them. Hoseok found the game Just Dance and proposed it as the next round.
Jungkook had not been on your mind the entire night as you busied yourself playing games with your friends.
“What else can you do?!” Miya exclaimed, stepping in front to take over Hoseok’s spot.
“More like what else can you not do?! That was amazing!” You pulled Hoseok in for hug, “We’re gonna win this. Get ready to treat us for a meal!”
Namjoon chuckled, “We have to do another game after this. Hoseok basically created the game Just Dance. He followed the moves to easily.”
“Don’t whine, just dance!” Hoseok teased, pulling you back on the couch as you both watched Miya and Namjoon do their round.
“Didn’t want to ruin the mood but… He’s watching.” Hoseok leaned in to whisper in your ear. Your eyes slowly wandered around the venue to spot a familiar figure hanging around a crowd of people.
You both made eye contact and you decided to cast a smile at his direction. In return, you received a quick and small smile before he looked away, completely avoiding your direction.
“That went well.”
“Give him time.”
“Hobi,” you deadpanned, “I’m pretty sure one year is a lot of time.”
Hoseok just shrugged, “I know but… Okay, I have nothing to say to defend him.”
You chuckled, turning your attention back to Miya and Namjoon, “You don’t have to defend him.”
“He’s my close friend too.”
“I know, and I feel bad that you have to split yourself in half every time—“
“No, no,” Hoseok nudged you to get that thought off your mind, “I don’t feel that way. Besides, I met the two of you on separate occasions as well. Please don’t feel guilty about anything.”
You gave him a thankful smile, “Thanks Hobi.”
The Just Dance bet ended with your landslide victory thanks to Hoseok’s hidden dance skills.
Namjoon insisted for another game to even the playing field and Hoseok went out to the backyard to set up the beer pong table. Miya and Namjoon had gone to the kitchen to grab the cups and drinks and you had volunteered to grab more titbits to snack on.
Thanks to your luck, Jungkook had busied himself with filling his plate with snacks as well.
“Hey.”
Jungkook jumped upon heading your voice, quickly steadying the plate on his hand. “H-Hey.”
“How’s the party going?”
You attempted to start a conversation with him as you grabbed a plate yourself. Jungkook awkwardly cleared his throat, “It’s a huge party… H-How about— Are you enjoying it?”
“Yea, there’s tons of things to do. How about you?”
“Yea.” Jungkook fiddled with one of the serving scoops. You pressed your lips in a tight smile, recognising the awkward atmosphere engulfing the both of you.
It hurt you to know Jungkook was still feeling awkward around you. It always reminded you that you had made the wrong choice. That you had ruined everything between the two of you.
“Right, I guess I’ll head off first. See you at practice?”
“Yea… See you around.” Jungkook nodded his head, his gaze locked on the table filled with snacks as you left the area, feeling dejected from your encounter.
“What’s with the long face?” Hoseok asked as you approached your group. You looked up to meet his eyes and he immediately knew, sighing as he pulled you into a comforting hug.
“It’s not your fault.”
“Still feels like it is.”
-
“Is it just me or am I still hungover from the party?”
You laughed, “You had a whole Sunday to rest.”
Miya sighed as she started doing hip circles. “I know, I must be getting old.”
“You probably are. Anyway, where is Namjoon?”
Just as you had asked, you heard his voice calling you and Miya. The both of you turned to see Namjoon heading over your direction with someone unfamiliar next to him. Namjoon was goofily waving his hands to grab your attention while pointing to the male next to him.
As they got closer, you managed to recognise the person next him. It was Kim Taehyung. He was popular in college because he was very talented at table tennis. It shocked you when Namjoon said he had joined the track team as a hurdler.
“You two must be Miya and Yn. I’m Taehyung.” He stuck out his hand for a handshake.
With a light smile, you reached out to return the handshake. Taehyung had a welcoming aura around him. He had a friendly and approachable vibe. He was tall, athletic, and good looking.
“So, what made you join track?”
He shrugged his shoulders, “It’s our last year in college, wanted to try something different.”
“Hope you like it here.”
Taehyung glanced back at you, casting a boxy grin your way, “I think I will.”
The coach blew their whistle to grab everyone’s attention. Everyone made their way to the centre of the field to start physical training. Training started with light warm-ups before rounds around the track.
While running, Taehyung was happily chatting away with you to get to know you better. “That sucks, so you’re not a hurdler?”
“Nope, I do 4x100s.”
“So, I’ll only get to see you once a week.” Taehyung pouted and you chuckled, “You can see me on other days.”
Track had 3 sessions a week - one combined with everyone and two within your own events. The combined session was physical training for all, hence why you were running rounds with a hurdler by your side.
“I’ll take that up!” He winked at you before speeding up slightly, “Catch me if you can!”
From behind, Jungkook watched you and Taehyung converse with a scowl on his face.
Why were you even talking while jogging? Was Taehyung flirting with you?
He used to be the one disturbing you during these rounds.
Jungkook tried to shrug off the scene of you and Taehyung together, ignoring the bitter feeling growing in his chest.
-
“Don’t feel bad. You’re sick, I’ll bring up some food for you.” You grabbed your student ID and phone as you insisted that Miya stayed in bed. Casting you a weak smile, she thanked you as you left your dorm to head off to the dining hall.
You lucked out when you saw Jungkook standing at the end of the queue, scrolling through his phone. With a deep breathe in as you made your way to join the queue. “Hey.” You gave a cautious greeting towards his way. Jungkook’s heart jumped, his grip tightening on his phone as he looked up to see you smiling at him.
“Hey.”
Jungkook hated how awkward he felt with you. It never used to be that way. Then again, that was a year ago.
You also never understood why Jungkook was the one avoiding you when you were the one who got rejected.
“Today was fun.” Jungkook gave you a toothy grin, “Yea it was.”
“Definitely my new favourite restaurant. I’m so full!” He playfully patted his stomach and you chuckled, “Looks like I know where to go when you start being grumpy or stressed.”
“That’s easy, you don’t have to take me to that restaurant. I just have to spend time with you and I’m good to go.” He shrugged his shoulders. Your heart fluttered at how nonchalant his words were yet so genuine. You had been thinking about it the entire afternoon, contemplating if it was the right decision. But you knew you had to let it out before it was too late.
“You good?” Jungkook pulled you out from your thoughts. “Mm? Oh yea, I’m good.” Your feet lazily kicked a stone in front of you.
“Hey,” Jungkook stopped walking, gently placing his hand on your arm to turn you around to face him. “You can always tell me something.”
“I know, I’m… I’m just tired that’s all.”
Jungkook pursed his lips together, “How about we head over to my place to watch a movie?”
“Sure.”
You let Jungkook choose the movie for the night as your head was far away. Jungkook nudged you, shimmying his shoulders. That was always his signal when he offered his shoulder for you to rest on. You gave him a small smile as you leaned your head on his shoulder.
Despite loving Marvel, you found yourself not paying a single ounce of attention to the movie. Jungkook seemed to have noticed that as you weren’t bantering with his small comments to the movie.
You were brought back to reality when you noticed the movie was paused.
“What’s wrong?” You asked, sitting up to face Jungkook.
“I was about to ask that.”
“I’m… I’m tired. I think I’ll just head home for the night.”
Jungkook frowned and you had to look away to save yourself from crumbling into pieces.
“Are you sure you don’t want to talk about what’s on your mind?”
You sighed, this was it. You just had to let it out.
“Promise me you won’t hate me?”
“Hate you? Jungkook repeated, “I would never hate you.”
He placed his hand on your knee, encouraging you to continue. “I’ve liked you for a while.” You paused, allowing the words to sink in. You could feel his hand stiffen and you were sure he could hear the loud beating of your heart.
The silence was deafening.
Your confession repeating in both your heads.
As every second dragged on, you started to regret it even more. You had made a terrible mistake and there was no way you could take it back. Life had no re-dos.
“I’m guessing you don’t feel the same way, given the response.” You clicked your tongue together, gathering the courage to look up at him.
Jungkook was lost for words. He would have never expected to hear a confession from you that night. From his closest friend. From his best friend.
Your words left a funny feeling in him that night, but he could not tell whether it was a good or bad feeling.
“Well, don’t worry.” You forced a laugh, “I didn’t expect much anyway. I just wanted to let it out. But I’m guessing I just ruined our friendship.”
“N-No, uh… I just… I just need time to… to absorb all of this.”
You nodded your head, “I understand.” You took it as a cue to get up from the couch, Jungkook’s eyes following your figure. “I’ll see myself out. Sorry for ruining the night.”
“T-Text me when you made it home safely.” Jungkook called out as you headed for the door.
Terrible. Even after ruining your friendship, Jungkook was still looking out for you. You hated how that made you feel. You turned around to face him one more time, a smile plastered on your face.
“Will do. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
It pained Jungkook to see you holding back your tears. If he could have another chance to replay that night. He would’ve stopped you from leaving, he would’ve told you that your friendship wasn’t ruined.
He would’ve done anything he could that night to stop you from leaving his life.
But in reality, he did none of those.
When you texted him that night that you were home, your message was left unread.
You took it as a message to give him time to process everything. A night turned into a day. A day turned into a week. A week turned into a month. A month turned into a year.
It was because of your confession, you both had become strangers once again.
“Yn!”
“Oh, hi Tae!”
Despite using his phone, Jungkook’s attention was on your conversation with Taehyung. You were already calling him ‘Tae’? Since when were you that close with him?
“Namjoon told me Miya’s sick. She alright?”
“Yep, just grabbing food for her so she can take her meds and rest.”
“Need my help?”
“Oh no, all’s good.”
Taehyung nudged you, “It’s alright, you have to get your own food too. I’ve already eaten, I can help carry her food up to your dorm, check up on her as well.”
“Sure, if you’re free, that is.”
“Free for you.” He teased and you laughed, looking away momentarily to see Jungkook who seemed to be invested in his phone.
“Oh, Jungkook! Didn’t recognise you at first. How’ve you been?”
Jungkook looked up to greet Taehyung, “H-Hey, I’ve been well.”
Ever since meeting Taehyung, he got along with your group easily. In fact, he got along with everyone effortlessly. He knew almost everyone in the track team only after 2 weeks. That meant only 2 combined sessions. Somehow along the way, it seemed that he had introduced himself to Jungkook as well.
Taehyung was amazing with people and that was admirable. The more you got to know Taehyung, the more you looked forward to hanging out with him.
“See you next practice!” Taehyung happily patted Jungkook’s shoulders goodbye as you two went off a different direction towards your dorm.
You barely register their conversation as your head was somewhere else, recalling the night you had confessed.
“Hey, are you okay?” Taehyung’s concerned voice made you look up to meet his eyes.
“I’m okay.”
Taehyung frowned, glancing behind to see Jungkook looking at the two of you walking away. Jungkook shook his head, quickly glancing away as Taehyung caught him looking.
“Something to do with Jungkook, perhaps?”
Taehyung was very observant and you knew you couldn’t fool him as well.
“Sort of… We just used to be close but... He’s been avoiding me and I’ve been trying to salvage whatever’s left. But it doesn’t seem to be working.”
Taehyung pursed his lips together, “It’s not fair if only one party is putting in the effort, you know.”
“I know, it’s just that… We used to be close.” You sighed as you stepped into the elevator with him, your gaze on your tray of food.
“Still, it’s not worth salvaging if you’re the only one putting in the effort. I’m sure you’ve done your best. Sometimes, you just can’t force things to happen.”
As the elevator opened to your level, you allowed his words to sink in.
“Miya! We come with food!” Taehyung grinned, bringing the tray to your sick roommate as she thanked the two of you for your help.
Your eyes trailed to Taehyung who was helping Miya grab her medicine and a glass of water.
Maybe Taehyung was right. Maybe it’s time to stop trying.

You've taken some time for yourself to cool down, and to let the pack discuss what to do next.
After having been deemed stable enough by Jimin, he'd packed a small bag with several blankets he'd used to nest with you to take home with you, playfully calling it your homework, to learn how to nest yourself. He still can't quite belief that anyone would simply let their child, let alone an omega pup sleep alone without any form of comfort.
Jungkook had felt a bit hesitant in letting you go, but had caved in, knowing deep down that it was probably for the best. He had been scared you might end up ghosting him after, but he'd received a message just a few hours later informing him that you've felt incredibly awkward, and that you didn't want to intrude his pack at all.
He'd instantly reassured you, and himself in the process as well.
Now, everyone was eating, while having spent the day lounging around. It's weird to have time off like this, but they're all deeply thankful for the small breather they're granted. It couldn't have been timed better, after all.
"She's really sweet." Taehyung comments at the dinner table, while everyone else is eating. He takes a bite himself, as hoseok questions in interest.
"So she's a pack wolf?" He wonders, and jimin nods.
"I've kind of had a hunch she might be when Jin was allowed close. Usually, we omegas have a huge issue with someone other than our own alpha being that close especially when in such a headspace." He explains. "And then Taehyung scented her, and it just, clicked I guess."
Jungkook huffs out a breath as he leans against the back of his chair. He seems disappointed in something, and Yoongi seems to pick up on it.
"She's still your mate, kook." He says. "Just because she's a pack wolf doesn't mean we're just gonna take her like that." He tries to reason, but the maknae isn't looking any happier.
"She was so calm with Jin-hyung." He mumbles. "And Jimin was able to get through to her so easily." He continues. "And then Taehyung..-"
"Becahse you were close." The older alpha counters. "Jungkook, she still likes you-"
"Well she won't once she joins the pack, will she?!" He barks out, finally snapping after having stayed silent for the two days after what had happened at his apartment. "I'm the last one to connect with my wolf, I don't know shit about how to be a good alpha, I constantly fuck things up, and you're-"
"First of all, stop yelling." Namjoon says. "Second of all, we don't even know if she wants to join the pack, hell, hoseok, yoongi, and me haven't even properly met her yet. For all we know we could be absolutely incompatible with her." He says.
Jungkook doesn't seem convinced, but stays silent the rest of the dinner, before he goes to bed alone, not wanting to participate in any pack activities.
When Yoongi walks into his room, jungkook starts to speak softly, as if scared of being loud while the mattress dips where the older alpha sits down. "I want her to join the pack, you know?" He mumbles. "But if she doesn't, then I'll loose her again, or loose her to someone else, and I really really like her hyung." He says. "I just want things to work out.." he worries.
"I know." Yoongi says. He knows the maknae, knows that he's a bit spoiled by his pack, and its just as much everyone's fault as it's his own. They've sheltered him for a long time, not thinking about the possibility that one day he'd have to figure things out himself. It's probably the main reason he still hasn't connected with his inner wolf- why would he, if everyone around him solved his problems for him? "Tomorrow we'll meet her, and go from there." He reassures. "I'm sure even if she's only half of what you've all told me, I'll still like her." He chuckles, patting the youngest on his back playfully roughly, making him complain childishly.
"We'll figure it out." Yoongi says, before walking out of the room, letting the maknae sleep.

You’re not sure what woke you first; your alarm, the pain shooting up your back from the stiff cot your university has the audacity to refer to as a “bed”, or your own sour attitude from having to be up so early.
Five am. Five am. It takes a certain kind of sick and twisted individual to suggest meeting up to study at five in the morning. Although, you have to admit, it does take a different kind of person to actually agree to those terms.
Why, why, why, why, why.
Is the mantra you chant to yourself while you mindlessly dress and pack your bag, not even bothering to snatch a power bar from your nightstand for breakfast. Water will have to do.
You make an effort to click the door shut behind you quietly, not wanting to wake up your more than sweet dorm mate who’d surely be focusing on being just as careful as you were right now.
“Oh my gosh, don’t you have that study date in the morning sweetie? You should be sleeping right now.” Bonnie, said dorm mate, leans over the back of your desk chair to peer down at the page of your calculus ll textbook you’ve been staring at for the past ten minutes. Concern is evident in her voice and her body language as she brings up a hand to gingerly rub your shoulder, hoping her small sideways smile will give you a sense of comfort. Or maybe even convince you to give it, and yourself, a rest.
“I know, I know. I just want to be prepared is all. I’m already dropping past a C at the speed of light and I’m sure my professor thinks I’m an idiot, hence him actually setting me up with a tutor, and I don’t need this guy to think I’m one too.” Your head falls in your hands at the end of your sentence, a dramatic groan feeling needed to really emphasize your point, too.
“Okay, just head to bed soon.” She placed a kiss on the top of your head before crawling into her own bed, using a storage container to prop herself onto it properly. She almost made you homesick with the way she doted on you like she was your mother.
You looked over and tapped the screen of your phone to see it read 9:14, not too late. You could reasonably cram in one more lesson.
You scoffed at yourself with the door fully shut and locked. You should’ve listened to Bonnie when you had the chance, it was just past midnight when you finally tore yourself away from last weeks review and decided to get ready for bed. Barely even four hours later and you’re up and getting ready to look at it all again.
You could at least appreciate how quiet the dorm hall was this ea-
“Mornin’, you!”
You internally banged your head against the wall at the bright voice that came towards you with such heavy and loud footsteps, how can someone’s footsteps manage to be so loud on carpet?
You substituted a hello with a gentle smile and wave as your R.A., who definitely didn’t remember your name - which is fine cause you didn’t remember theirs either, rushed past you.
Sighing deeply, you left the warm confines of the dorm building and stepped into the cold and brisk morning, starting your trek to the library.
He couldn’t have even chose a coffee place or something?
You had some, thoughts, about this guy. You didn’t know much about him, only two things.
One, his name: Tsukishima Kei.
Two, he was a good enough student to be assigned to you as a tutor.
You swallowed your slight embarrassment at the thought of your professor reaching out to someone on your behalf and instead chose to focus more on how weird this guy has to be.
Waking up before the sun rises on a Sunday was not something you looked forward to, you don’t think anybody would truly; especially to meet someone for the first time; yet this guy thinks it’s a great idea. So much so he didn’t even think to ask first, just tell you when and where to meet.
Thursday 4:14 pm
- ‘It’s Tsukishima. See you at 5 in the library this sunday.’
- ‘Oh hi!! Oh ok, am or pm?? lol’
Thursday 7:43 pm
- ‘am.’
- ‘Ok cool, see ya then!’
And that was it. Neither of you have texted since, which was three days ago on a Thursday afternoon. It kind of bothered you really, I mean, what kind of self righteous ass-
You took a deep breath and chose to think happy thoughts instead. You’d much rather be in a somewhat pleasant mood when you meet this guy than have some grudge against a stranger. And he probably talks different than he texts, right? You’re sure he didn’t mean to sound like a complete jerk.
You shook your head as if you were shaking away your thoughts as you started to walk along the path to the library. It was a fairly nice walk, about five minutes, and being alone was kind of peaceful on the way there this early.
Your feet shuffled only slightly on the cold concrete surprisingly enough considering the way your fatigue was starting to creep into your joints - but surely the cold wasn’t helping.
It was that kind of morning cold that stung your nostrils when you breathed in and tickled your cheeks and ears. It made your hands clench and unclench in your coat pockets, debating whether or not it’d be worth it to pull the cold metal of your jacket zipper just a centimeter higher in hopes of keeping your neck warmer. The morning fog leaving droplets on the synthetic material of your coat, making it squeak awfully when you moved your arms. And there was the dew on the grass that’d cling onto the tops of your shoe when you had to walk through it.
But the way the old fashioned light posts lit your walk and illuminated the fog kind of made your slight discomfort worth it. And by the time you reached the tall brick library, you could almost say you were in a pleasant mood, almost. And then you remembered why you were here.
You took one final deep breath as you reached the heavy doors of the university library. It was a grand sight really.
The building had its own separate spot on campus, towering at about four stories high, which although didn’t sound ginormous, it definitely felt that way when you had to climb those stairs to the top floor for a book you really didn’t even want. The brick with the foliage creeping up the sides to cover some of the lower windows even gave it an almost magic feeling when you took it in from the outside, it’s too bad that sense of wonder couldn’t be mirrored on the inside.
It was too quiet, especially this early, it smelt almost stale, and everything seemed to have a layer of dust no matter how new a book was. And the bathrooms? Old. Most stalls didn’t even have usable locks at this point. It’s arguably all apart of the charm of such an old building, but it’s not as charming when you have to reach out to keep the stall door closed with your fingertips just to use the restroom. And the water from the sink that never seems to get warm enough when you wash your hands doesn’t help either. Yet the water fountains are always too warm curiously enough.
You made little to no noise besides the occasional rustling of your jacket and squeaking of your shoes as they padded across the dingy off-colored carpet towards the back of the first floor.
There were various sizes of tables spread out throughout the space, few actually matching in color or style. The chairs varied less - but you could still find the oddball desk chair, or the chair with the wooden frame just a tad to wide to feel like a normal seat but just as evenly too small to be a bench.
Your heavy eyes surveyed the dimly lit space in hopes of finding any sign of human life when you finally noticed a backpack haphazardly tossed onto a table, still zipped open. Pens were splayed across the table with a single notebook, scribbles scrawled across the pages too far from you to be read. Not seeing anyone occupying the seat pulled away from the tables edge, you took out your phone to take a peek at the time.
4:58 am
Wow, I’m early?
Shoving your phone back into your pocket you began to make your way towards the (un)occupied table, debating whether a seat closer or farther would be more polite.
If I sit too close that’ll definitely be-
“Hey.”
You felt your shoulders hunch up to your ears and a small gasp leave your mouth at the way the voice behind you so suddenly interrupted your train of thought.
You turned around to come face to face with the voice.
“Are you (y/n)?”
Damn. He’s kinda tall.
Kind of was certainly an understatement. God he was definitely above 6 feet, 6’2” maybe? No, maybe even a little taller.
A single earbud was still in his ear as the other hung down and rested against his chest. He took the time to take the other out and wrap the cord gently around his middle and index finger before shoving it into his coat pocket, presumably the same one with his phone, in an effort to prevent them from getting tangled most likely. He took a deep breath and eyed you up and down before chuckling softly to himself.
“Okay.”
The tall man, who you’re now beginning to realize is Tsukishima, gives you a quizzical stare with a quirked eyebrow as he looks you up and down one last time, definitely judging you and your silence at this point, before turning around and making his way to a table.
Well it’s a good thing he stopped you before you sat at some other strangers table. You don’t think your heart could’ve taken that today.
You watched his back as he made his way towards a table farther into the back, closer to a window peering out onto the foggy and barely illuminated field.
Oh shit
“Oh, sorry!” You clear your throat and begin again, your own sudden volume startling yourself for a moment, as you double your pace to catch up and walk beside him towards a table,
“Um, yeah. Sorry, it’s a little early, brain hasn’t woke all the way up.”
Silence.
At the lack of a response, you decide to awkwardly laugh rather than wallow at the fact he didn’t even give a pity chuckle at your bad attempt at a polite joke to ease the seemingly tense vibe between the two of you.
Okay, well he definitely seems to talk the way he texts.
Clearing your throat again, you tried once more.
“I’m (y/n) by the way, it’s nice to m-“
“I know your name.” He stopped at the table and turned to glance down at you over his shoulder, the tiniest of smirks resting on his face with raised eyebrows, before pulling out a seat to sit in.
Yeah, maybe being quiet for a bit would do you some good. You’ll try again later.
Still trying to shake the embarrassment, no humiliation at this point, you busied yourself with taking out all the proper materials and waiting while he did the same. Sitting patiently opposite of Tsukishima, you decided to finally get a good look at him. Take in what you see and make some judgements.
He shook off his jacket and draped it over the back of his chair, showing you his wide shoulders underneath the simple grey t-shirt he wore. You didn’t fail to notice how the sleeves were cuffed, either.
Hm. Nice look.
Points for Tsukishima.
His hands and ears were slightly pink from the weather outside, contrastingly sweet against the paleness of his skin.
Kinda cute, in like a Keebler elf kind of way.
More points, you guess, for Tsukishima.
He sighed as he opened up the calculus ll textbook, adjusting his glasses with long and slender fingers before flipping through the pages. You decided it’d be best to do the same.
It was quiet for a moment too long when you thought it might be a good idea to try and speak again, but apparently he must’ve had the same idea.
“So, why d-“
“Thanks for-“
Cutting each other off, you pursed your lips as he gave you some emotionless stare, one of you waiting for the other to start back up again.
Andddd, another awkward beat of silence.
Jesus, this was gonna be the longest hour of your life.

After accidentally panicking and telling basically the whole world that she's dating a member of the hero team, Ladybug must someone to fake-date her, and fast. Of course Carapace suggests the obvious solution: she can just date his girlfriend for a few weeks. As the plan dissolves into chaos, the four learn what it means to be the heart of a team, while also getting into more shenanigans than humanly possible along the way.
---
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
Those were the first words to tumble from Chat Noir’s lips, his smile too overeager, too happy to be genuine.
“I didn't-”
“Girl, you have GOT to be kidding me,” Rena Rouge interrupted, whirling on her the second her feet touched the rooftop. “I thought we were friends!?! Who is it? Pegasus? Viperion?”
“I thought he was dating Ryuko,” Carapace jumped in.
“I’m not-” Ladybug opened her mouth to explain, only to be interrupted. She couldn’t really blame Alya (who only had fifteen Ladynoir pinterest boards and showed them off to anyone who so much as mentioned the superhero duo).
“Oh, right,” Rena Rouge nodded. “Otherwise she totally would’ve been my next guess.” The fox heroine turned to her desperately. “Please don’t tell me it’s Tigresse. I’ve been working on my Tigerella fanfic for months.”
“Guys, can you calm down for-”
“King Monkey, maybe?” Carapace guessed as Chat plopped down on the edge of the building, failing at not looking miserable. “He doesn’t really seem like he’s her type, but you never know.”
Rena Rogue cut her off again. “I swear, if it’s Vesperia and I didn’t see it coming…” The heroine buried her face in her hands. “Ladybug you better explain. I don’t know what to do with my life anymore!”
Instantly, three sets of eyes locked on her, begging for clarification. Ladybug took a deep breath.
“Guys, I’m not dating anyone.”
“But you said-” Rena protested.
“I know and I’m sorry!” she cried, trying not to look at Chat as her face heated. Not that it meant anything. Obviously.  “The reporters kept asking all these questions and I just wanted to get out of there and it slipped out.”
It was hard to miss the flash of relief in Chat’s eyes.
“So, let me get this straight,” Carapace said, staring at her incredulously. “Your grand plan to get out of a stressful press conference was to tell everyone in Paris on live television that you’re dating someone on our team?”
It sounded a lot worse when he said it out loud.
“I panicked,” Ladybug admitted with a wince.
Carapace breathed a sigh of relief. “Well, at least you can just admit that and everything will go back to normal.”
Rena Rouge and Chat Noir glanced at each other knowingly and almost simultaneously burst into giggles, as if he had said something hilarious.
“That doesn’t sound like a good sign,” Ladybug swung her yo-yo in an anxious circle.
“Trust me when I say it will not work out like that,” Chat Noir smirked somewhat bitterly in the light of the setting sun.
Rena waved her hand across the sky as if she could already read the headlines written on the clouds. “Shocking Reveal - Ladybug Tells All.”
“I could just tell them the truth,” she tried to protest.
“Heroes Attempt to Cover up the Truth,” Alya finished, stopping the yo-yo’s frantic circle with her flute.
Ladybug groaned, wanting to kick something, preferably Hawkmoth’s stupid face.
“And of course it's right around the anniversary,” Chat Noir reminded her.
“Uh, no it’s not,” Carapace glanced at her partner like he was crazy.
And he kinda was. She distinctly remembered a picnic with a certain kitty on the rooftops near where she ‘fell from heaven’ as they watched a parade of small children stream by, wearing Stoneheart cosplay only a few months ago.
“Not that anniversary,” Chat Noir deflated a little. “I was talking about Oblivio.”
Her brain screeched to a halt.
“This just keeps getting better and better,” she groaned.
Carapace and Rena exchanged a glance. “What does that have to do with anything?”
“After a certain Ladyblogger posted a photo of me and Chat,” she locked her gaze on Rena, relishing the moment a little too much. “Some of the fans seem to have gotten it into their heads that Kitty and I are destined to get together on that day.
“Generally involving a week full of frustrated Ladynoir-shipping akumas,” Chat jumped in. “And one exhausted and pointedly not together bug and cat.”
Ladybug giggled. “Okay, you have to admit, some of them are kinda funny.”
The cat hero snorted. “I wouldn’t call Aphrodite funny.”
“What about the fanfic style one?” she nudged his knee playfully, trying to see if banter would help cheer him up. “You have to admit, throwing mugs at the akuma during the coffee shop AU was the best.”
A hint of a real smirk flickered across her partner’s lips.
“You called me sweet when you dumped all that sugar in my hair,” she reminded him.
“It was an accident!” he protested with a grin.
“Yeah, right,” Ladybug crossed her arms. “You were supposed to throw it at him. You totally did it on purpose!”
Chat clutched his chest, pretending to wipe tears from his eyes. “I can’t believe you would have such little faith in me, m’lady!!”
Both of them somehow missed the knowing glance their best friends shot each other.
All their weapons buzzed simultaneously, doubtlessly with an update from the news. Chat Noir flicked open his baton and sighed, showing the headline to the rest of them.
“Which of Our Heroes is Ladybug’s Boyfriend?”
Her partner scrolled through the article, grumbling under his breath.
Carapace raised his eyebrows under his hood. “Bold of them to assume you don't have a girlfriend.”
“I wish I could say that it’s bold of them to assume I’m dating anyone at all,” she sighed. “But I kinda started this so I guess I can’t blame them.”
“THAT’S IT!” Rena Rouge leapt to her feet, nearly knocking her boyfriend’s shell over the edge of the roof.
“What?” Ladybug glanced at her comrades to check if they had the slightest idea of what was going on.
“You told the press that you’re dating one of us on the hero team, right?” the fox heroine asked excitedly.
“Yes?” Ladybug answered hesitantly. “You were there too.”
“Not the point,” her friend waved the comment off. “The only solution that doesn’t end in even more akuma attacks is fairly obvious.”
The other three glanced at each other to see if they had gotten it.
“COME ON GUYS,” Alya sighed. “Ladybug just has to pretend to be dating one of us for a few weeks. Think about it. They go out on a few dates, cue general excitement from Paris about the first official hero couple, tragically break up after a few weeks and everything goes back to normal.”
Ladybug shrugged. “I guess it could work.”
“Why does this sound way too similar to the basic plot for any fake dating fanfic?” Chat Noir hissed in the nearby turtle hero’s ear.
Or hood by where his ear should be.
“Probably because that's exactly what it is,” Carapace whispered back.
Rena smirked.
“And I happy to know of an available cat who would be happy to take-”
Her triumphant Ladynoir wingwoman grin fell from her face as the duo shook their heads in unison.
“Bad idea,” Chat Noir admitted. “I don’t want to think about the worldwide catastrophe that could occur after out ‘breakup.’”
“It would be like last Valentine’s day, but infinitely worse,” Ladybug jumped in, wincing at the memory of yet another love akuma that nearly burned Paris to the ground in its mission to make its OTP kiss.
Not that kissing Chat was such a bad thing. He was kinda good-
She cut off that mental track before it could get anywhere.
“Well, who else are you going to fake-date?” Alya asked. “I mean, I would totally be up for the job, but…”
She gestured at her boyfriend.
Carapace’s silence spoke for itself.
“Uh, babe?” Rena nudged him with her boot.
“Yeah?” he said with a grin.
“You can’t actually be considering this.”
“Why not?” he shrugged. “It’s not like anyone in Paris will know any better.”
“Hawkmoth could target me!” Alya pointed out. “He knows where I live!”
Carapace shrugged. “I mean, he could do that anyway.”
“Still, this could…” her voice trailed off. “Uh- why you aren’t fighting me on this.”
The turtle hero shrugged. “I guess I don’t see a problem with it, dudette. As long as both you and Ladybug are cool with it, then I’m not going to stop you.”
“You’re supposed to be my voice of reason!” Rena Rouge stared at him like he had just admitted to secretly being Chloé’s BFF. “Are you secretly a sentimonster or something?”
Nino raised his hands innocently. “I’m just trying to be a supportive boyfriend and help you reach your dreams.”
“By handing me off to the first bug who wants to date me?”
Carapace fell back dramatically. “Babe, did you see Ladybug today,” he cried in an impression of his girlfriend's voice. “The way she stuck that landing and then she winked at me and I swear I died. No offense babe, but if Ladybug ever asked me out, I would break up with you in an instant.”
Rena turned bright red.
Ladybug giggled. “I’ll take that as a compliment.”
“You’re cool with this?” Rena spun on her.
“I mean, if Carapace is,” she smirked. “Sounds like it's the closest to a realistic relationship I’m going to get.”
Rena Rouge buried her head in her hands. “Hold on. I need to go scream on a rooftop.”
“Take all the time you need, babe,” Carapace called after her.
Ladybug smirked, grabbing her hand and kissing it like Chat would sometimes do for her (which totally didn’t leave her in a stuttering mess afterwards. Obviously.). “Yeah, babe. Take all the time you need.”
Rena Rouge turned red and fled.
“Whoops,” Ladybug turned back to Carapace with a sheepish grin on her face. “Too much?”
“Just because you’re fake dating my girlfriend doesn’t mean you can steal her,” Carapace nodded. “Don’t worry. She’ll be back in a few minutes and fully on board with this.”
“I should go and talk to her,” Ladybug said as she bit her lip nervously. She waved to Chat in a TOTALLY NORMAL WAY as she leapt over the rooftops.
***
The ribbons on her pigtails fluttered in the evening wind as Chat Noir watched her vault over the rooftop after her possible future fake-girlfriend.
Carapace whistled. “Dude, you’ve got it bad.”
Adrien’s face heated as he punched the turtle hero's arm. “Shut up.”
“Have you considered telling her that, you know, you still love her?”
Chat Noir laughed bitterly. “And watch her heart rip in half as she tells me yet again that we could never be more than friends? No thanks.” He glanced away. “I’d rather give up my miraculous.”
The sounds of the city that echoed off the rooftops awkwardly filled the void between them.
Finally, Chat Noir asked. “So, wait, are we actually doing this?”
Carapace nodded. “We’re superheroes. It’s our duty to protect Paris. If the only way for us to do that is for my girlfriend to pretend-date yours, then it’s a sacrifice we have to make.”

Buzzing came from your pocket, initially thinking your phone got a notification until it continuously vibrated. Yunho was calling you.
“Yo, where are you? Mingi told us what happened between you and Dom--and before you say anything, he’ll be having hell to pay, regardless of whether you approve or not.”
Chuckling, you sighed as you looked at your surroundings. “Fine by me. Do what you like to him.” Slowing down in front of a cute-looking coffee shop, you answered his first question...partially. “Just taking a stroll in the town.”
“Wanna be left alone?” You hummed as you entered the establishment, being hit with wafts of bakes goods. “Very well then. But we’re gonna hunt you down if you’re not back by midnight.”
“M’kay, Pops,” mumbling absent-mindedly while overlooking the menu on the screens above the counter.
You couldn’t see the gentle bitter smile on his face, knowing very well that you weren’t as stone-cold as the façade you masked yourself in. Had an idea that you just needed space. “Alright then. Look after yourself.”
“You too.”
Beeping over the line indicated to you that he had hung up. Shoving your phone back into your coat pocket, you let your feet carry you to the till, where a young teenager dressed in a pale blue polo shirt and evergreen apron on top greeted you with a nervous smile.
Must have been new, or had some sort of social anxiety, from the way they avoided your eyes and fidgeted with their hands. “U-Um, hello. Welcome... What would you like?” the taller kid practically whispered, but you caught on to their words.
Sending a soft, warming smile, you answered, “can I have a buttered croissant with a mango and passionfruit iced tea, please? Actually, would you mind adding a chocolate muffin to that too?”
Nodding, they tapped the till, pressing various buttons before saying, “that’ll be 6,500 won, please.”
Pulled out your wallet and paid the employee. As you sat down, waiting on your order, you began to reminisce from when you used to be that age too--then again, it was not hard at all since it wasn’t too long ago.
Seven years ago, you were only 16, enjoying life just before things took a turn you never expected and you were never the same air-headed, happy-go-lucky kid you once were.
All you needed at the time was someone who was kind, who gave you a breath from the onslaught you faced all around you. Mingi was probably the only reason you’re still alive.
Thinking about the old days did more damage to you than you’d like to believe, but almost seemed impossible with the Dominic situation.
Being betrayed again hurt like hell, and although he wasn’t as bad as what you had experienced, he still broke your trust. Trust you tried to rebuild after all you went through the last time.
Thoughts you spent so long trying to get rid of grew back like weeds of the concrete walls you put up five years ago.
And despite what you tried to convince yourself and Mingi, you actually really liked the guy.
“Here you go, miss,” the young employee mumbled as he placed a tray with your order on it. Almost everything was right, except that there was a vanilla and chocolate chip muffin instead of a complete chocolate one.
Oh well, a muffin’s a muffin.
“Thank you,” you grinned, handing the teenager a tip of 10,000 won.
Their eyes widened at your strange generosity before hesitantly taking the money you held out between your index and middle fingers.
Your lips wrapped around the straw as you took a sip of your ice-cold drink. Strong tones of mango, with a hint of passionfruit, slight sweetness from honey and faint tang of fresh lemon.
Iced tea was something you had grown to love over the past five years, first time being too bitter and flavourful for you. Then again, the events prior left a bad taste in your mouth. Seonghwa was the one who helped you, always getting you an iced tea every time he went to a nearby coffee shop.
Learned quite quickly that your tongue was sensitive to heat after being so concerned how you refused piping-hot meals he cooked for you often. Waited until it cooled a lot before digging in.
No doubt the four boys would do anything for you--Mingi the most out of the rest since you wouldn’t be where you are without him--but sometimes you needed to breathe by yourself. Enjoying the little things you like croissants and muffins rather than focussing on your soon-to-be ex boyfriend cheating on you for a reason that eludes you.
That’s how the rest of the day goes.
Aimlessly walking, window-shopping, sight-seeing. Nothing registered in your mind but it was better than something negative.
Your phone was on silent, growing cold in your pocket from the lack of heat being transferred from your hand. Even then, you doubt anyone (except Dominic) would be texting you since you told them you wanted peace.
Before you realised it, the sun crawled above your head and began to set in the horizon, a clash of beautiful blues, oranges, pinks, and purples hovering in the sky. Lampposts along the streets lit up and the sky grew dark, yet that didn’t stop the hustle and bustle.
Irritated by the noises of people, you turned to an alleyway which had significantly less lighting but also significantly less humans.
As you walked, you were deep in thought, not thinking much of your surroundings. Then the hairs on the back of your neck stood up and a chill ran down your spine.
Someone was following you.
You were about to turn around and defend yourself--and you had no worries that you would lose. But then bright LED headlights of a hidden black SUV had highlighted the hair of a rather short person who stood in front of it.
Shocking electric blue stands brushed against his porcelain-smooth skin from light wisps of wind passing by. The same colour hair you realised had been barely peeking in your peripheral since the airport.
Next to a man you had very briefly met on you birthday dinner while searching for the bathroom.
Exactly how long have they been following you?
Though you chided yourself for not noticing it sooner--despite all the excuses of being ‘on a holiday’--you found yourself pondering. You had never met those two funky-haired people before in your life, and you sure as hell made sure any dangerous people couldn’t find you (not without going through one of the other boys first) so who exactly were these people?
Perhaps you were like a bee, drunk on the honey in your tea, or maybe you wanted to get your mind off the situation, needing a thrill at the moment.
You felt the need to destroy something--or at least toy with it for a bit--and these cocky assholes seemed perfect.
Either way, you relaxed your muscles (only a little, as to not raise suspicion of the young man before you).
One foot stepped behind you as you kept your eyes trained on his coco ones, only to rip them away a moment when you turned to ‘run’. As expected, something else tried to stop you. Another black SUV with blinding lights swerved into the other end of the alleyway as you tried to leave.
You’d prided yourself on good acting, and it always seemed to pay off. Right now, to sell the part of a scared girl, you stumbled backwards--planning to fall of the cobblestone path, but only to be saved by something hard.
The mysterious man’s chest, his hands holding your arms as support.
“Sorry about this,” he whispered in your ear, covering your mouth with a chloroformed cloth. You didn’t really put up much of a fight (to your standards, anyway) and succumbed to the strong chemical.
Tumblr media
At first you were floating in a sea of black, unable to connect with your senses. Slowly, after moments of nothingness, you could feel the world materialise around you.
Soft fabric was cushioned beneath you, cradling your body with warmth. Light began to seep through your closed eyelids as the gentle, sweet smell of sugared almonds filled your nose with every deep inhale. And finally, a headache that began to pound harder with every pulse.
Grunting, you pried your eyes open, immediately noticing what appeared to be a shower room in front of you. There were two shower heads on each side, with only pillars of soft light embedded into the tiled wall rather than a proper partition. To add to the lack of privacy, the only material separating the shower room and the eyes of the bed was simply a thin pane of sliding glass which hid absolutely nothing.
“What kinda perv decided to design this monstrosity?”
Propping yourself up on your elbows, you looked down on the bed you were lying in, thankfully still in the same cotton dress, phone no longer in its pockets. The mattress was significantly softer than the one at the hotel--yet another indicator that your kidnappers were rich.
On the tables dotted around the space were lilac candles. Most likely the culprit of the amazing scent in the room.
Your eyes then caught the daylight peeking through the curtains, enlightening the room in a soft apricot glow. “Fuck,” you muttered, remembering Yunho’s words in the previous call she had, “they’re gonna kill me for staying out.”
Pushing yourself off the illegally comfortable bed, you inched towards the only door you saw. Fingers wrapped around the cold metal handle and pushed down, finding it much to your surprise that it was actually unlocked. Pulled it open without hesitation, though making sure you peered out to see if there was anyone.
There wasn’t.
“Great security, guys,” you sighed, actually feeling disappointed in the lack of effort you had to put in while walking openly around. After all, it was the reason you let yourself be taken.
Then again, this could all be a trap.
Now that was exciting.
You let yourself become familiar with the surroundings upon one glance, noticing the obvious luxurious colour scheme of gold and cream that had your eyes rolling at the basic rich vibes it gave you.
Then you found your breath catching in your throat as you continued to explore, eyes frozen on a portrait hung up on a wall.
Though the fact that it was a portrait of you had initially shocked you, it wasn’t the defining feature that had your heart palpitating at a dangerous speed. Your hair was short again, a pixie cut, while you were sat on a beach that looked a lot like the one you visited in Santorini.
“Fuckin’ hell.”
In fact, the painting was an exact replica of you from five years ago, down to the clothing of ripped jeans and loose top you wore. You, from one of your darkest and lowest moments.
“Are you lost, babygirl?”
The same voice rang in your ears, repeating the only sentence you heard spill from his lips. When you turned around to confirm who it was, it was indeed the same man you saw.
The damn muscular guy, with pitch-black hair and a lock of platinum blonde brushing just above an eye.
The blood was rushing too fast, fear in your eyes no longer an act. Just who the fuck was this guy?
You took one step back, knees buckling instantly but before your brain could process it, the man had wrapped his arms around you, catching your body before hit the ground.
San could smell the delicate citrusy aroma wafting from your skin and he tried so hard to not bury his head in the crook of your neck, to kiss the area and whisper sweet nothings into your ear.
Taking advantage of your frozen state, he lifted you up and place you on a nearby armchair, one beside a fireplace since he felt you were too cold for comfort.
Only until he had a ice cube pressed against your lips, did you snap out of it. “You should have it. Maybe you had a bad reaction to the chloroform. Sorry about that, by the way.”
Head turning the other way, your guarded eyes stayed locked on him rather than your painting behind his form. “English.”
“Why? You spoke perfectly good Korean at the dinner two days ago,” he said, pressing the ice cube onto your mouth once more.
“Simply because I feel more comfortable with English,” you remarked, swatting away his hand. “And stop putting that on my mouth.”
Sighing, he dropped the cold, melting cube back in the glass of whiskey before putting a bit of distance between the two of you. He could feel himself getting angry, that you won’t trust him, that you won’t listen to him.
But could he blame you?
“I feel like explanations are in order,” you said, narrowing your eyes down on his figure, flickering firelight resting on him to make him seem even more good-looking, shadows casted to make each feature appear sharper. But that wasn’t what you were focused on.
You wanted to deduce this stranger by his body language.
Stood tall, maintaining good eye contact, showed that he was confident. Classic black suits--expensive by the look of the fabric--showed that he as rich. Tattoos littering the skin of his hand showed a bit of a bad-boy nature. And the aura he emitted was that of a leader.
Corner of your lips twitching, you realised who--or what--he might be. The boss of a fairly powerful crime syndicate.
San, on the other hand, couldn’t see what you were thinking as you looked at him. Did you think he was as hot as he did you? Fuck, he hoped so--clearly not understanding how a normal person would react in such a situation.
“Hello? Earth to whoever the hell you are?”
“If you want answers, you certainly won’t be getting them if you act like a brat.”
Scoffing, you tilted you head, eyes boring into him with a cold glaze coving them. Like a lifeless doll. “Then how do you suggest I act then? Hmm? After seeing that you’ve been stalking me for the last five years,” you nodded towards coloured canvas, growing more unsettled every time you looked at it.
“Fair point,” he said, taking a seat on the chair opposite you. “But you should know that I haven’t been doing that. Stalking you, I mean.”
“The fuck do you call that creepy-ass portrait, then?”
“I call it a precious memory.” San shifted his focus from your gaze to the flames lazily dancing on charred wooden embers. Tongue swiped over his lips before chuckling, almost bitterly. “Doubt you’ll believe me, but I’ll tell you anyway.”
Lips pursed, you sat quietly as you listened to his story.

The Odds of Us All
Special CH1: A Glance At The Past (the one where Sakusa meets Y/n)
Tumblr media
Okay so this chapter takes place right before Y/n’s first year of high school! I wanted to write more Sakusa within the “The Odds of Us All” AU but it’s not my dudes time to shine yet :( So here we are, I’m going to write about the time Y/n met Kiyo ahahhaha. Enjoy my fellow Sakusa simps ;)
*technically this can be read as a stand alone one shot but why would you only settle for that when you can read the series?
“Y/n, I know you want to stick by Tetsuro and Kenma... but you seriously need to consider your future. Eventually you’ll have to separate from them, don’t let your history hold you back in the past.” M/n Ushijima, Y/n’s competent and straight forward mother advised, gazing at her daughter with a knowing stare. At the moment the h/c girl was looking through a long lists of high schools she had the options of attending. Her top four options were Fukurodani Academy, Shiratorizawa Academy, Itachiyama Institute, and Nekoma High.
Fukurodani was a good option, they had a focus on subjects like Japanese and English literature, as well as history and art. While Nekoma High’s more favored subjects were the STEM courses, and they even had a bonus of being the chosen high school of her childhood friends, Kuroo and Kenma. These two were the cheapest options- neither of them being a private academy like the other two.
Itachiyama Institute was probably the place her mother wanted her to attend, they were renowned for their excellent college prep classes, exceptional sports teams, and high rate of graduating students getting into Imperial Universities (Japan’s Ivy League basically). Shiratorizawa Academy was all the way in Miyagi- but they had a dorm that she could stay in. There was also the fact that she was guaranteed an invitation from the headmaster himself, due to the Ushijima family’s children studying there as per tradition. Her cousin Wakatoshi also attended the school, as expected of him, if she chose to follow his lead she was guaranteed friends and a good time also.
Choosing a high school was hard- especially when her mother was pushing her in one direction, only to backtrack and say that she would support her no matter what school she wanted to attend. Y/n briefly wondered what it’d be like when deciding on a university in the future- however those thoughts were far from pleasant so she shook them off.
“I... don’t know mom.” M/n looked at her daughter long and hard, releasing a soft sigh before pulling out her phone and tapping away.
“How about you take Itachiyama’s entrance exams and see if you at least qualify? Any other school on this list will accept you as a student in a heartbeat. At least this way you’ll know if Itachiyama is even an option for you.”
You blinked, considering her words, they made sense so you agreed.
“Great, the entrance exams are this Sunday, I’ll drop you off then.”
~Time skip to Sunday, location: Itachiyama Institute~
You had finally finished the god awful tests. It had taken an excruciating three hours of your time to complete and your brain felt like literal mush. Stomach rumbling, you made your way to one of the vending machines you remembered passing by earlier. One thing you were glad for was the location of the exams- right in the administration wing of the school- naturally, the heads of the place had access to the best snacks. You walked silently, eyes gazing at the ceiling, not paying attention to anything but the fluorescent lights. Rounding the hallway corner, your eyes fell to the end of the hall- where the vending machine was located. Humming a small tune you continued your leisure stroll, fishing through your pocket for your credit card. After retrieving it you purchased a mini chocolate cake (that looked more like a brownie than anything), white chocolate matcha cookie, and a tiny cup sized bottle of milk tea. As the transaction was going through, you picked up on approaching footsteps and people’s voices.
“Apologies *indistinguishable*-san I simply must take this phone call. There’s a vending machine around the corner, would you please wait for me there?” An adult said, heavy footsteps receding, a door opened, then shut. You turned back to the task of collecting your snacks.
“Is this what I think it is?” A noticeably younger sounding male’s voice asked, barely audible. You vaguely wondered what was going on over there, before promptly setting your food on a nearby chair, pulling out your hand sanitizer and applying it swiftly. As you contemplated what snack to indulge yourself with first, you were deaf to the incoming footsteps and soft gasp from behind you.
“But if I ate the cake I might accidentally spill crumbs in the hallway... maybe the cookie’s a better idea?” You wondered, pocketing your sanitizer, still oblivious to the boy behind you. “Hmm...”
“Uhh... excuse me?” That voice from earlier called out, startling you. You whipped around, only to make eye contact with pretty onyx eyes, the color of warm coal and cooled lava rock. His entire being was outlined in a highlighter yellow- it was kind of fitting, having matched the schools signature colors.
‘Woah my soulmate’s actually kinda hot,’ you thought to yourself, taking in the boys appearance. Wavy black hair, two moles above his right eye, you couldn’t see the rest of his face- since it was obscured by a white face mask. He was perhaps 5′11- but something told you he was on the cusp of a growth spurt. So caught up in your musings you hadn’t noticed that you had accidentally voiced your thoughts out loud. “Thank god he’s not an old man.”
“...Is that supposed to be a compliment?” Mr. Highlighter questioned, staring at you incredulously.
“Oh no did I say that out loud? I am so sorry- I swear I didn’t mean too!” You exclaimed before bowing in apology, cheeks hot with embarrassment. Sometimes you spoke whatever was on your mind- a bad habit you were currently working hard on breaking.
“...” He didn’t say anything, still looking at you judgingly. Internally he was wondering why he was destined to be with someone like you. “Sakusa.”
“Huh?” You straightened back up, wide eyed.
“My name’s Sakusa Kiyoomi... this is the part where you’re supposed to introduce yourself.” Uh oh ‘Sakusa’ sounded a tad bit irritated with you now. His name sounded familiar somehow... but you didn’t quite know why.
“R-right! My name’s Ushijima Y/n!” You smiled nervously, awaiting his reaction. He looked pleasantly surprised at that.
“Ushijima? Like Ushijima Wakatoshi?” Your smile dwindled slightly at his choice of words. Of course he was excited- not because he met you- but because he was able to use you to meet Toshi.
“Yeah... he’s actually my first cousin.” Attempting to keep the conversation flowing you asked “are you a volleyball fan?”
Unbeknownst to you, Kiyoomi noticed how you reacted when he asked about Wakatoshi, so he decided to avoid that topic for now.
“Mm... I’m actually a player. That’s what I’m here for... I was scouted for the volleyball team.” He says it so nonchalantly, as if he wasn’t sought out to join the best high school boys team in the entire country.
You’re just as impressed as he hoped thought you’d be, all starry eyed and mouth open in awe. “Scouted? That’s amazing Sakusa!” He’s pleasantly surprised that you forgoed the honorifics, but a tad bit disappointed at your use of his surname. “You must be very skilled- I’m only here because I had to take the entrance exams.”
“How were they?” He finds himself blurting out softly, it’s uncharacteristic of him- not that you could know that- but he finds that he doesn’t mind being a bit forward when it comes to you. Despite not usually being one for conversation, he doesn’t want this chat to end.
“Mm they were okay I guess... but the math portion was pretty difficult.” Speaking about the hard exams remind you about how hungry they made you and your stomach gurgles in response. Behind his mask, Kiyoomi’s lips quirk at the abashed expression you make- which disappears once you wave it off with a laugh and a brief apology. “Want a cookie? Or a cake?” You question, nodding over to your waiting snacks. He shakes his head. It feels almost invasive as he watches you unwrap your cookie- noticing the care you take in making sure your fingers only touch the wrapper, not wanting to touch the cookie itself, lest you get crumbs on your hands. But you don’t look uncomfortable at his weird interest, so he continues to stare. “I can buy you a snack? What do you like to eat?”
“It’s fine, I have money.” The dark haired male pats his pocket, “I like umeboshi... anything with umeboshi.” Those enchanting e/c orbs flit over to him once more and he discovers that you’re probably the only person that could stare at him endlessly without making him uncomfortable. This thought scares him- he doesn’t even know you- he shouldn’t be thinking such things. You’re tapping away at the vending machines, cookie having been finished and trash tossed in a bin nearby. He assumes you’re just buying another snack for yourself.
“Here... is ume daifuku good?” You question, holding it out to him with one hand, while your other one reaches back into the dispenser part of the machine and retrieves a can of matcha tea. “Delivery for one!” The smile adorning your lips sends a pleasant feeling throughout his body, normal tendencies forgotten, he accepts your offer.
“Thank you... can I pay you back? I don’t have cash on me at the moment, but maybe another time?” He pockets the canned tea and holds the daifuku in one hand, allowing you to spurt some hand sanitizer on his empty one. You shake your head, h/c hair swinging, his heart sinks in his chest- rejection overcoming him.
“Don’t even think about paying me back Sakusa... but we can meet up again... maybe off of school grounds?” A shy look overtakes your features and he can feel his heart picking itself up off the floor and taking flight at how cute you are.
“I... wouldn’t be opposed.”
“Great, let’s keep in touch then! What’s your number? I’ll text you!” He tells you his number, watching as you type it into your phone quickly.
“Say cheese!” You twirl around holding the camera up so that it focuses on Kiyoomi’s tall figure, your head poking in at the corner of the screen. He doesn’t do much- the only noticeable change in his demeanor is the *very* slightly shocked look on his face (you can tell by the wide stretch of his eyes). He licks his lips behind his mask and looks as if he wants to say something, but he doesn’t get the chance.
“Sorry about that Sakusa let’s continue the tour- hm am I interrupting something?” The headmasters voice says from the end of the hallway, he’s pleased to see the two of you together. Both being the children of very influential people- it bode well for the school if you kids got along.
“No, we’re good thank you... I’ll talk to you later Ushijima.”
“Call me Y/n, Sakusa! I’ll text you okay?”
The headmaster walks off, expecting Sakusa to follow. As he passes you he says one last thing.
“You can call me Kiyoomi then.”

Chapter 6
The urgent knocking on your apartment door interrupts you in the middle of making dinner. You glance at the wall clock, the time reading 9:01 p.m., and you wonder who could possibly be at the other side of the door at this hour. You aren’t expecting anyone this late at night.
You pad toward the door in your bare feet. A familiar face greets you when you peek through the peephole, though the sight of him standing outside your apartment door isn’t familiar at all. It’s so strange that you have to remind yourself that you aren’t dreaming.
You open the door.
“Junmyeon?”
“Hi,” he smiles. “Can I come in?”
“Uh…”
“Were you studying?” he asks, already taking off his jacket. “I hope I’m not bothering you. I should’ve texted first, but I kinda came here on a whim.”
You shake your head. “No, no. I was just making dinner.” You open the door wider and let him inside, bringing him house slippers to change into.
“What’s for dinner?” He looks around your apartment, his eyes eventually settling on your kitchen counter. A smirk creeps into his lips when he sees the pot of water over the stove and the noodle packs. “Instant ramen,” he says. “How very… college student of you.”
“Hey!” you protest. “I happen to like instant ramen, thank you very much. It’s delicious and it’s cheap.”
Junmyeon scoffs as he sits on the couch. “You’ve deluded yourself into liking it because it’s cheap,” he corrects. “Stop eating that garbage. Your body will thank you in ten years.”
“I’m sorry, what are you doing here again?” you ask, because you’re pretty sure that he isn’t there to just criticize your dinner choices. “And how did you come up? Mr. Bong just let you?”
You’re not sure if you’re seeing things, but you can swear you just saw Junmyeon’s cheeks blush a little. “Oh, your doorman let me up because… um, because he saw us…”
“Oh.” Now you’re blushing, too. “Right.”
You know that he’s talking about the night of your birthday, the night he drove you home from Esperanza, the night you kissed.
You still remember everything about that kiss, even the tiniest of details. You still remember how Junmyeon’s lips still had a faint taste of strawberries because of the ice cream the two of you shared before he drove you home. You still remember how his perfume smelled like lavender, warm and comforting. You still remember how soft his lips were, and even now, about a week later, a phantom of that kiss still lingers over your mouth.
It had been everything you imagine it would be, and more.
Definitely more.
“Water’s boiling,” Junmyeon says, reeling you back into the present. You head toward the kitchen and put the noodle squares into the pot. Junmyeon follows you, this time settling on a seat at the dining table. “I came here because… Well, I wanted to talk about that night.”
Your heart suddenly feels a bit too heavy on your chest. He’s here to lecture you again, isn’t he?
“I’m sorry,” you tell him.
Junmyeon doesn’t say anything. But you feel him stand up from his seat and walk toward you, coming closer and closer until he’s close enough that the skin on your neck tingles from his proximity.
“I’m not,” he whispers.
“You’re not what?”
“I’m not sorry.” You turn around, and the first thing you see is Junmyeon’s chest. He towers a couple of inches over you, so you have to look up to meet his eyes. “I’m not sorry,” he repeats. “God knows how many times I’ve imagined that happening. I know it’s a wrong thing to imagine, but it’s true. And I’m not sorry.”
“Jun—”
“But,” he cuts you off, “that doesn’t mean we can be reckless now. I like you. A lot. Maybe more than a lot. And I don’t want anything bad to happen to you, which is why we have to be careful.”
“I understand.” Truly, you do. Junmyeon has said it over and over again, that he doesn’t want you to get in trouble because of him and especially now that you’re just a few exams away from graduating.
After all, you know now how Junmyeon feels about you. I like you, he had said. That’s a guarantee you didn’t have before, and now that you do have it, it makes the complications more bearable.
“You only have about a month and a half left,” Junmyeon says. “After that, we’ll talk again. If our feelings haven’t changed, that is.”
You shake your head. “I’m afraid my feelings aren’t going anywhere. Not sure about yours, though…”
Junmyeon laughs, his cheeks beaming as he does. “My feelings don’t change so easily, either.”
“Are you staying for dinner?”
“I can’t,” he says. “I have to grade a bunch of term papers. I still haven’t read and graded yours, to be honest. Besides, I’m not really a huge fan of instant noodles.”
You playfully slap his arm. “Stop making fun of my dinner.”
“Alright,” Junmyeon laughs again, and you can swear that it’s the sweetest sound you’ve heard all your life. “Good luck on the rest of your finals.”
Before you can stop yourself, you blurt out, “Don’t I get a kiss? For good luck?”
The smile dissolves on Junmyeon’s face. He steps toward you, walking until his face is only a couple of inches away from yours. He cups your cheek in his right hand, the pad of his thumb brushing your lower lip. An electric jolt races up your spine.
But he pulls away.
“No more kisses until graduation,” he says.
You had expected this, but it was worth a try. “And after graduation?”
“We’ll see,” Junmyeon says. You catch the corner of his lips curling into a smirk once more before he suppresses it.
* * *
On your way back home from your last final exam, you run into an old friend at the convenience store you always go to after school.
You almost hadn’t recognized him. The last time you’d had a good look at him had been a couple of months ago, and that hadn’t exactly been a friendly encounter.
“Chanyeol?” you call incredulously as you approach him by the beverage section of the store.
The last time you’d seen him, his dark mop of hair had been long and unruly, almost covering his eyebrows. Now it’s bleached strawberry blonde and cropped short, like a military haircut that has grown a bit longer, the undercuts fading from the crown. Chanyeol has always been handsome, but the clean hairstyle has accentuated his features even better.
“Long time no see,” he says in that deep voice that used to tie your stomach in knots. It still does, actually, but maybe not as much as before.
“Your hair… Wow.”
You can’t stop staring at him. He doesn’t quite look like the Chanyeol you knew, but at the same time, seeing him look so differently floods your brain with so many memories, and surprisingly, none of them are bad.
Perhaps it’s because he looks like a better version of himself, the version you’ve only seen in the happy memories you have of him, the version you would’ve enjoyed to get to know more back when you still loved him.
You still feel something, especially now that he’s standing right in front of you, but you’re sure that it isn’t love. It’s more of a what-if. No other term can encapsulate Chanyeol better. What if.
“Is it bad?” Chanyeol asks shyly, running his hands through his new hair. The dimple that you had always found adorable appears on his cheek as he smiles.
“No, no. It’s good. It’s very good.”
Chanyeol laughs. “That’s a relief. I thought it looked horrible on me since everyone can’t stop staring.”
“Well, it’s just that… You look so different.”
“Yup,” he says, “that was the idea. I wanted to be different. Figured I should look the part while I’m at it.” He looks down at his feet, and swallows nervously. “Listen, um… I’d like to talk about a few things, if that’s okay with you.”
You stare at him for a while, trying to gauge his expression. He looks apologetic — sad, almost — and you can tell which direction this ‘talk’ would be veering toward.
But there are still some loose ends to tie up, and you figured that this conversation is long overdue.
You nod. “Sure, Chanyeol. Let’s talk.”
The afternoon is relatively cool for an April one. The streets are filled with college students going out to eat and whatnot, filling the air with the buzz of chatter and laughter.
You and Chanyeol have taken a table outside the convenience store, a rectangular umbrella sticking out of its center and hanging over the two of you. Wisps of steam rise from the cups of coffee you’ve bought from the store. Neither one of you has drank.
The tension in the atmosphere is thick, not with resentment, but with awkwardness. It’s as if the two of you have forgotten how to talk with each other. You want to ask him, How did we end up like this? but you already know the answer to that.
Finally, when you can’t stand the silence any longer, you say, “What did you want to talk about, Yeol?”
The nickname feels strange as it rolls off your tongue, like it no longer belongs there, but you say it anyway to show Chanyeol that you no longer harbor bad feelings toward him.
You’ve forgiven him, even if he hadn’t apologized properly, because that’s the only way for you to stop hurting. And it has worked. So far, at least.
“Right,” he says. “I’ve talked to Kyungsoo and Jihyun, too. About the, um, way I’ve been acting for the past months. I’m sorry about ghosting you guys suddenly. It’s just that… I needed a lot of time to myself. To think about the shit I did. I’m sorry if it took so long for me to figure out.”
“I understand,” you answer.
Not It’s okay or It’s fine or any of that. I understand. That’s the best you can give him — your understanding. You’ve forgiven him based on that, but that doesn’t erase the pain he’s caused you.
Chanyeol continues. “I’ve apologized to Kyungsoo and Jihyun about those things, and you’re the last person I wanted to apologize to because… well, you’re the one I hurt the most.”
The cups of coffee have gone cold on the table, and so has your heart.
“I know that apologizing doesn’t cut it, but still, I’m sorry,” says Chanyeol. There’s no question about the sincerity of his tone. It’s the most genuine sentence you’ve heard from him in all the years that you’ve known him. “I’m sorry that I led you on, that I took advantage of how you felt for me, that I didn’t think my actions through when I was with you. I just want you to know that it’s not your fault. None of it is. It’s me. It’s all me. I was too afraid of my own feelings. That’s the truth.”
You stare at him, your throat beginning to tighten.
Chanyeol’s eyes are traveling everywhere except on you. You’re not sure if you’re just imagining things or if his eyes have really turned watery.
“I know that nothing’s gonna change what happened before, and I’m not even entirely sure if it’s gonna change anything now, but I’m sorry. I’m sorry for all the things I did, the things I’m doing right now that I may not even be aware of, the things I’ll do in the future. I’ll never do anything intentionally that’ll hurt you, I just fuck up sometimes. I’m pretty sure I’ll fuck up in the future, too, but I’ll try to be better. I’ll try if it’s the last thing I do. I care about you. A lot.”
The awkwardness seeps back into the air. Chanyeol picks up his coffee, which probably doesn’t taste that good anymore, and takes a small sip from it.
“I’ve forgiven you a long time ago, Yeol,” you say after a few seconds of silence. “There’s nothing else to forgive. But I appreciate your apology.”
It’s true. What’s done is done. Neither of you can do anything about the bad memories you have of each other now. All you can do is move past all that.
Chanyeol may have done a lot of hurtful things, whether intentionally or not, but it’s not his fault that he didn’t love you the way you loved him.
“I know I’m not in the position to ask for favors, but can I ask one all the same?” Chanyeol asks.
“Sure.”
“Can we be friends again?”
You smile. “I’d like that. Yeah, let’s try again as friends.”
Chanyeol’s lips curl into a smile as well, his dimple making another appearance. “Thank you. For hearing me out. And for the coffee,” he says. “See you around?”
“You can’t stay for a while?”
Chanyeol regretfully shakes his head. “I have to study for my major demo prod final.”
You can’t help but laugh. “You are different,” you say. “You never studied before.”
“Never too late to start again, right?” Chanyeol laughs. “See you around.”
You nod. Chanyeol stands up from his seat, gives you one last smile, and then disappears into the fading afternoon. Your heart feels the lightest it has been for a while, and you wonder until when this happiness will be good for this time around.
Apparently not for long.
Your phone dings, displaying an e-mail notification from the last person you’d expect it from. The message reads:
From: CCU Department of Literature ([email protected])
  Good day.
You are respectfully invited to the department chair’s office for a dialogue regarding a sensitive matter. Kindly reply promptly with the schedule that works for you.
  Best,
  Lee Yeong Hoon, PhD
Chair, Literature Department
* * *
Your heart feels like it’s about to burst inside your chest any minute now.
You’ve never been personally asked into the department chair’s office in all your four years in college, and the churning in your gut tells you that your first visit isn’t going to be a pleasant one.
Students only ever go to their department chair’s office for either one of two reasons: (1) to ask for recommendation letters, in which case they go willingly, or (2) they fucked up and are in trouble, in which case they’re asked to go whether they like it or not.
You definitely aren’t there to ask for recommendations, so the only other logical option is that you’re monumentally screwed. As far as you’re concerned, you haven’t done anything to warrant the department chair’s attention.
Well, there is one thing…
No, you tell yourself. That’s impossible.
How could Dr. Lee have known? How could anyone have known? You and Junmyeon have been careful enough around campus. Heck, you haven’t seen him more than once outside of campus since the night he drove you home from Esperanza. It just isn’t possible that you’re in trouble because of that.
The shrill, robotic sound of a telephone snaps you back into reality.
The department secretary immediately picks it up. “Sir? Yes, sir. Right away, sir.” She turns to you, placing the handset back on the hook. “Dr. Lee is ready for you, sweetie.”
You can’t quite place the secretary’s expression. Is it distaste? Pity? Nevertheless, you thank her, and then hesitantly make your way toward the office.
The second you open the door and see who’s in the room aside from Dr. Lee, your heart sinks right through the floor. The other man is sitting with his back facing you, but he doesn’t need to turn around for you to know who he is.
Junmyeon.
He’s already occupying one of the two chairs in front of Dr. Lee’s desk, so you naturally go for the other seat. Your entire body has gone cold.
“I suppose you already know why I asked you here this morning,” Dr. Lee says, talking to no one in particular. Neither you nor Junmyeon respond.
Dr. Lee brings out a small, dark brown envelope from one of his desk drawers. He pulls out a single sheet of glossy paper — a photo, you realize — and places it gingerly on the table, as if mishandling it will make it explode.
Junmyeon doesn’t move an inch, perhaps because Dr. Lee has already shown him the photo while you were waiting outside just a few minutes ago. You straighten in your seat, craning your neck to see what’s on the photo.
It’s a bit dark and grainy, like it was taken on a phone from a distance, but there’s no doubt that the two people in the photo are you and Junmyeon. It was taken on that night, the night you sometimes still can’t believe ever happened. There it is, the first kiss you and Junmyeon have shared, immortalized in a photo meant to destroy the both of you here and now.
“This was dropped anonymously into my pigeon hole about a week ago,” says Dr. Lee. “The only people that have seen it are the people in this room right now, and my secretary. She opens my letters, you see.” He takes the photo, puts it back in the envelope, and then returns it inside his drawer. “No one will ever see it again.”
That takes a huge chunk of weight off of your chest, but it doesn’t remove all the dread.
Despite the anxiety simmering in your stomach, you manage to say, “Thank you, sir.”
Dr. Lee simply nods. The neutrality of his features is a bit unsettling, but it’s better than him being angry. Or maybe this is how he naturally is when he’s upset? That’s even more unnerving.
“As Chair of the Literature Department, it’s my responsibility to make sure that… things like this do not spill over to the entire Liberal Arts College.” He said ‘things’ with such dismay that you know he said it not because of the lack of a better term. Dr. Lee continues, “We have to deal with this on our own. Our department cannot have any more attention toward it, especially not after the scandal last trimester with Ms. Jeon. We have to cut off this problem’s head before it bites anyone else. Do you remember your Greek mythology?” he asks you.
The sudden question causes your brows to furrow in confusion. “Sir?”
“You were my student in World Literature 1. Do you remember your Greek mythology?” Dr. Lee repeats.
“Uh, I g-guess, sir.”
“Good. You will understand my analogy, then. You see, problems are like the Hydra — cut off one head, two more take its place. How did Hercules kill it?”
The answer comes naturally to you. “He burned the stumps before they grew back.”
“Good,” Dr. Lee says, his tone void of any emotion. “We have already cut off the head by not telling anyone else, and this is how we will burn the stump of this problem so that it remains beheaded.” He leans back on his chair, folding his arms in front of him. “I have already discussed this with Mr. Kim earlier, but for your sake, we will discuss it again.”
You turn to look at Junmyeon — the first good look you’ve had of him since you entered the room. His face is as rigid as a rock, his eyebrows scrunched together. He hasn’t spared you a glance, not once, since you sat down. He hasn’t talked, either.
Dr. Lee sighs. “Given your father’s position in the university and the fact that you are merely awaiting graduation, I am inclined to grant you the utmost leniency regarding this matter. Personally, I do not care about other people’s relationships, especially if they are of legal age, but unfortunately, my personal bias is suspended when I am acting as department chair. Because of that, I have no choice but to not invite Mr. Kim to teach at the university next trimester, or in the trimesters to come.”
Did you hear him correctly?
“You’re firing him,” you sum up. Your voice doesn’t feel like it’s coming from you; it feels like it’s echoing from someplace else.
Dr. Lee leans forward, propping his elbows on the wooden table. “My dear, I am not terminating Mr. Kim’s contract. I am simply not renewing it. There is a difference.”
“Well whatever you call it, it isn’t fair, it isn’t—”
“Don’t,” Junmyeon’s stern voice cuts you off. He throws you a pointed glance, silently saying, Please stop talking right now. He’s angry; that, you are sure of. What you aren’t sure of is if his anger is directed at the whole situation or simply at you.
He has the right to be furious at you, doesn’t he? After all, all of this wouldn’t be happening if you just hadn’t let yourself get swayed by your emotions and kissed him that night.
The fault is yours alone.
“It is settled,” Dr. Lee says with such finality that it’s hard to argue.
Unfortunately, you’d never been one to know when to give up. “Dr. Lee, please. It isn’t his fault, it’s mine. Please don’t—”
“Enough,” the department chair says. His tone has gone from neutral to venomous. “The only reason I am not taking your diploma away from you is because your father is the president of this university. One more outburst like that and I will no longer hesitate to forfeit your degree.” That shuts you right up. Dr. Lee then turns to Junmyeon. “It is settled,” he repeats. “Thank you for your time in this university, Mr. Kim. I wish you good fortune in all your future endeavors.”
Junmyeon stands up from his seat and offers his hand to Dr. Lee. “Thank you, sir,” he says. After the handshake, Junmyeon walks out of the room, and all you can do is watch.
What you don’t know is that it’ll  be a while before you see him again.

sharaaa get some fanfic asks bestie:
a fic you didn’t expect to write
something you learned this year
most memorable comment/review (that's such a cool question, honeslty, i look forward to your answer!)
a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read (*props up notebook to write down recs*)
a fic you didn’t expect to write
fics you’ll continue next year
-
(yes i know i am Bad at keeping things short, ooops. have fun :D)
hellooo, tea :)) i'd deleted the fic ask post, but i'm going to do this for you <3
a fic you didn’t expect to write
revelry. it's part 18 of my a-z ficlets, and it centers around religious homophobia. i grew up in a Catholic household, you see, and we're much open now truly. but it wasn't always that way. back when i started reading slash fics, the more devout members of my extended family would probably have no qualms labelling me a deviant had they known. so, it's kinda weird to write it, though it's a short piece. i'm still not sure about it honestly haha.
something you learned this year
that i suck at writing consistently XD writing is my therapy, so i should find that balance that would make me have time to do it. right now, it's not looking good, though. also, that i should write what i enjoy writing about. self-indulgence :)))
most memorable comment/review
oh, this one's from ff.net. it goes: If you don't continue this soon I'm going to find you and haunt you at night, kay? I really mean it, in case you don't believe me. :) i love that this person still trusts me and wants me to continue a fic that hasn't updated since 2019 :(((
a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read
oh! i love this one. i already answered the same question in a previous ask, but i'm going to put a different fic here. actually, three different fics that i want to marry simultaneously:
first is Running on Air by eleventy7. this is a drarry fic that turned my world inside out, upside down, completely knocked off its axis. reading it was like running on air lol. seriously, what a fucking poignant work of art. this fic is easily one of the drarry classics || next is the we found love 'verse by zukkababey. this is technically a three-part series, but i'm counting it as a whole. and oh my lord, tea. if you haven't read this one yet, you definitely should. it's a fix-it series of the maze runner trilogy, and it's main ship is thominho. so, you see, i was bound to get obsessed. i love everything about this series. like seriously. i've only read the tmr trilogy once, but i already scrolled through this one three times and counting. i'm not exaggerating the littlest bit || lastly, A Foreign Affair by annabellelux. this one, you're probably not familiar with. it's a snowbaz AU set in the plot of casey mcquiston's lgbt book red white and royal blue. i enjoyed every second it. i love simon snow and baz pitch with all of my heart (i will not gush about them here because i will not be finished anytime soon), and reading them as the first son of the US and the crown prince of Britain did wonders to me. beautiful, beautiful wonders.
fics you’ll continue next year
lol, i have lots of this. but i'll mention the ones that are already published on ao3. so, i'm most excited about three, the first two of which are for steo: the hogwarts au there you are and i run, the post-canon false memory au in another life, and probably the only percabeth fic i'll write in this lifetime but if we loved again i swear i'd love you right. oh, and there's also another one that i will gift to a friend once it's completed! i actually just posted the second chapter of it here :)
thank you so much, tea :)) i hesitated cuz i might not be able to answer immediately, that's why i deleted the ask post. but i enjoyed this little break! now, off to work i go.
fanfic end of the year asks

HERE IT IS, MY LOVES
All Things Must End (AO3)
my take on how Deidara stole his kinjutsu from Iwagakure, featuring an OC that i've grown very fond of, Kōseki-sensei. additional tags and warnings below the cut.
Summary:
"One day I’m gonna fly away from this dark fucking pile of fucking rocks. I’ll live in the sunshine and do what I want..."
Kōseki-sensei had taught Deidara to see the beauty in every moment and understand that all things, good or bad, would eventually pass, depart, leave, disappear, break, end.
Was this where his dream ended? He ground his teeth. It couldn’t be. He just had to work harder. He would prove himself worthy of Kōseki-sensei’s kinjutsu. Whatever it took.
Rating: Mature (for swearing and violence)
Warnings: Major Character Death
Relationships: Deidara (Naruto) & Original Character(s) Characters: Deidara (Naruto), Original Characters, Original Non-Binary Character
Additional Tags: Canon Universe, Original Character(s), Deidara-centric, Deidara "origin story", Deidara is 12, but he swears like a fucking sailor, Non-binary OC(s), Iwa OCs, Kumo OCs, Canon-Typical Violence, Mild Gore, Blood and Injury, Caves, Rock-climbing, Original Character Death(s), won’t claim it’s one-hundred-percent canon-compliant but i’d like to think it works

anyway, if you want some canon-verse ItaDei, read on!
rating: Mature
tags: canon-verse, kissin'! (obviously), but first fist fights, fighting, brief mention of SasoDei feelings... and ItaDei confessions!

Yoongi’s sweatpants fit well enough to get by in, matched with another of Namjoon’s hoodies—this time in a tan color. (How many hoodies does one man need? You’re reminded again of Jin’s seemingly endless supply of clothing, though you don’t dare mention the similarity) The flip flops he’s lent you are a little on the large side, but you doubt it really matters. You’re just glad to be wearing shoes again. As you wait by the door for Namjoon to get his keys and slide his arms through his jacket, tugging on a bucket hat and hanging a pair of sunglasses onto his shirt, you’re still trying to process your emotions. Outside. With other people. Other humans, even. Are you going to run? Are you going to try to escape? It feels like that’s what you should be planning.
“Oh.” Namjoon catches your attention as you muse, pulling dark, smokey fabric your way and wrapping it around your neck. You pluck distractedly at one of the fringes hanging off it, meeting his gaze after a second.
“Just in case,” he says, shifting the scarf around your shoulders more securely. “For the marks.”
“They look bad?”
He tilts your head to the side, inspecting you with a quirk of his lips. “Mm. No. Not really. Kinda healed. But just in case. Don’t want any awkward questions.”
Awkward questions. Like, ‘blink twice if you’re being held hostage’? That kind of awkward? You allow him to tuck the edges back in, hiding the evidence of where you’ve been. What you’ve been doing. What’s been done to you. You grimace. Your head still hurts, and the world has begun spinning a little when you turn your neck too quickly.
You blink, and you’re in the passenger’s seat of the car, staring out the window while Namjoon talks. Vaguely, you’re aware of what he’s saying. That he thinks it’s awfully important. You beg to differ.
“—find you on any, like, missing persons databases so I think we’re in the clear, but just to be safe, y’know. This is…it’s a risk. You understand?”
You hum, working your jaw. You wish he’d gotten you something a little stronger for the headache. It’s better than it was, but not gone. Swear it gets worse when he talks, and he’s talking a lot.
“I need you to behave yourself. Don’t make a scene. If you act out, then we can’t do this anymore.”
You roll your eyes, even knowing that it’s going to twinge at your migraine.
“I’m not gonna run around screaming about being kidnapped, Joon,” you grumble.
“I know. I know, I just want to make sure we’re on the same page. I promised you we’d let you go when we’ve…sorted something else out.”
“That’s a different phrasing than you used last time.”
“I’m trying. Okay? Just—I’m not trying to keep you prisoner.”
“Hence the handcuffs.”
You flick a glance over at him just in time to catch the tick of his jaw as he narrows his eyes at the road ahead.
“That is…not the same thing.”
“If it’s sexy, then kidnapping is okay.”
The exasperated snort of air that he answers with is partly humored and partly frustrated.
“You are, annoying sometimes, you know that?”
“I get to be, I think.” You turn back to the window. “Considering.”
“…yeah. Alright. Considering.”
The store has too many fucking people in it, is the thought that occurs to you. At first, pulling into the parking lot, you’re excited to see them. Human beings, running amok, running free. You feel like an animal at a zoo released into the wild. Ordinary people, milling about, going about their ordinary lives. It’s invigorating.
That feeling quickly fades when you actually get into the building. The smells, too-sharp chemicals and body odor hits you immediately; cheaply, quickly cooked food and even cheaper body spray. The noises. Chattering, obnoxious laughing heard from the other side of the store, children shrieking and shouting. A cart down the way has a squeaky wheel and you can track it through the aisles. You ruminate on thoughts of violence perpetrated by the item in question itself, of picking it up and throwing it out the finger-smudged windows with the screeching baby still inside it.
Namjoon’s hand on yours squeezes reassuringly. It’s unclear to you whether he can sense your discomfort but you don’t think you’ll mention it if it’s possible to avoid doing so. You can’t imagine how unbearably smug he’d be to learn that you’d rather be around him than them. Once you’re in the store, he lifts his sunglasses, but leaves the hat on.
“Not gonna burn to a crisp in the sunlight?” You ask after a moment of watching a child attempt to shove his entire hand up one nostril.
“Nah. Just a little sensitive on the eyes.”
“The super cool, far-seeing, all-knowing vampire eyes.”
“Those ones.”
“I should have brought a flashlight to the club, is what you’re telling me.”
He chuckles, shrugging. “Maybe so.”
He leads you to the clothing section, still holding your hand, and there isn’t an atom in your body that is even vaguely alright with the idea of letting him out of your sight. There’s a feeling like you’d get swept up in this sea of people, lost in a world so entirely foreign to you. You know you used to belong here. This used to be yours.
But flicking numbly through shirts and pants, skirts, jackets, mumbling half-remembered guesses at measurements, listening to the cacophony around you, lost in the harsh overhead lights…you don’t belong here. You aren’t sure whether it’s more upsetting to think that you don’t now, or that once upon a time, you did. Once upon a time, you didn’t question it.
A gaggle of teenaged girls passes by. For a third time. They stare at Namjoon in turns, giggling and speeding up, skittering past, chattering to each other excitedly. Their idea of stealth leaves a lot to be desired.
“You have admirers.”
Namjoon cocks his head, lips pursing, as he pulls a t-shirt off the rack and holds it up to you appraisingly. “I’m ignoring them.”
“Not hungry?”
His eyes flit to yours. “Never teenagers.” He replies, low, firm. He sounds almost upset. “Never kids.”
You hear the click of a phone camera and a high-pitched giggle of embarrassment, the forcibly hushed whispers of ‘turn off the noise turn off the noise, oh my god!’.
“Not even annoying ones?”
“If you really want to discourage them, you could kiss me.” He says instead, lightly, but his eyes flick to yours and you can taste the heat behind them.
“That’ll do it, you think?” you echo sardonically.
He hums, nodding once in affirmation.
Before you can think too hard, you slide a hand over his on the shirt hanger, guiding it back towards the rack so that you can close the gap between you. Like the first time, he doesn’t move at first. Allows you to crane upwards, struggle to brush your lips together, before he finally acquiesces and takes the remaining space, laying a lingering kiss against your mouth. He’s warm, soft. His lips taste like him. Like how he smells. Like Namjoon. The two of you lock gazes as you part, and you willfully ignore the electricity shimmying down your body.
“I don’t like the color of that one,” you break the silence after a pause. He blinks slow, a grin crawling across his face.
“No?”
“No. But the one behind it is nice.”
“Anything for baby.”
You don’t allow him the warmth that curls inside of you at that.
The two of you end up standing in line, holding a modest armful of clothing that you’re pretty sure will fit, waiting for your turn at the checkout. It’s not even a matter of what you’re planning to buy at this point—your headache has only gotten worse and it’s all you can do not to lose your fucking mind. You reached the breaking point about ten minutes ago and you’re absolutely going to go batshit if you don’t leave this store immediately. Which is why when Joon starts doing that ‘patting himself down in surprise’ motion, you’re thrown into palpable despair.
“Oh, shit.”
“No. No, Namjoon.” You plead through gritted teeth, throwing him a desperate look.
“My wallet’s in the car.”
“Damn you, goddamn you—“
He grabs your arms with an apologetic smile that dimples his cheeks. “Just stand off to the side. I’ll be back in two minutes.”
“No, Namjoon. No.”
But he’s already skipping away from you, holding up two fingers and mouthing ‘two minutes’ back your way. You hate him. You hope he gets run over while he’s out there.
You trudge over to a nearby empty counter, dumping your armful onto it, resisting the urge to throw yourself on the pile and pull a pair of jeans over your head. Your brain hurts, your teeth are chattering, it’s too bright, it’s too loud, it smells, god, it smells, you had no idea you were so sensitive, you are so ready to go home. And by now you don’t even care that you’re calling it home. You can’t afford to care. What you wouldn’t do for more medication. For that turtle. Oh, how you lament the absence of that heavenly reptile.
 “Hey.”
You start at the sound of an unfamiliar voice, sounding up and away but too close to the back of your head. You turn, casting your glance up at the tall man standing by the counter. He’s not a worker; instead of their overly bright getup he’s sporting a leather jacket and black jeans. You don’t understand why he’s talking to you, if that’s the case, and you’re not really in sure how to pretend otherwise at the moment. His grin is crooked, raising his eyebrows expectantly, but at your expression his mischievous look fades.
“…Sorry, I thought I knew you!” He says after an awkward moment. Your heart seizes. Knew you?
He gestures with his hands as he explains. “Y’know, from the back, you look—I thought I recognized you.”
“…O-oh.” You aren’t sure what to say to that. Fuck, you sincerely hope he was mistaken. You hadn’t even considered what would happen if someone who used to know you sees you. The person you were before…before this. You don’t think you recognize him.
There’s another pause, where you turn away slightly, willing this moment to be over, but he doesn’t move. The moment instead stretches into forever. You would like to cease existing.
“Are you okay?”
“Fine! I’m—“ God, it’s been a long time since you’ve spoken to real people. You crane back around, forcing a smile that you hope doesn’t look too forced. “I’m fine. Just waiting. My, um.” You stumble over a way to define Namjoon, deciding in the end to abandon it entirely. “He left his wallet in the car.”
“Hm.” He doesn’t look convinced, flashing you a cursory up-and-down glance. Actually, looking at him, he’s pretty handsome himself. Wide lips, strong nose. A jawline to kill for. His neck is thick. You wonder what else of him—no, no. No. No. You like his eyes, you decide weakly. He’s got kind eyes. Good, nice eyes.
“Do you mind if I talk to you?”
You frown, throwing him another glance. Misgiving pools in your stomach warningly. You really, really aren’t in any kind of state to be carrying conversations with strangers. “Uh.”
He casts a look around, casual if not for the serious slant to his strong brows. He leans forward, pulling one edge of his jacket to the side. You see a flash of silver, recognize the badge hooked to the inside, and it clicks in your head, despite the chaos spinning around the edges of the world like a sick carousel. You don’t see much of the ID badge underneath but for his name, and his serious-faced photo, before he tucks it back away. Jackson. His name is Jackson.
“…You’re a cop.”
“Nothing’s the matter,” he reassures, holding out a hand placatingly, eyes watching yours. “Just like to ask you a few questions.” He jerks his head at the entrance.
“Come with me.”
Oh. Relief floods your limbs so intense you almost sigh aloud. That’s okay, then. Yeah, that’s fine. The clothes’ll be alright here for a second longer, you’re sure. You’re already following him as he peels off the counter and starts walking casually, your doubts melting away, making your steps lighter. Local police. Just a few questions, yeah. You can handle that. God, you were so afraid for a minute. The thought makes you chuckle under your breath when his back is turned as he leads you out the door, turning the corner to an alcove by the entrance. You definitely can handle whatever this handsome stranger wants to dole out.
He turns when you get there, stepping to the side so you can tuck yourself by the side of the building, out of view of any nosy people.
“How can I help you, officer?” you ask demurely, a smile curling the edge of your lips. Just being out of that building is helping your headache immensely. It’s fading as you speak, releasing its grip on your jaw, your thoughts.
He cranes over his shoulder to survey the parking lot behind him and you take the brief respite to admire the way his shirt pulls across subtle pecs, across broad shoulders, underneath the jacket that does little to hide his physique. The way he fills those black jeans. You like the obvious power in what you can see. Is it weird to be checking the cop out? No. No, certainly not. You resist the urge to bite your lip when he looks back to you and grins again. He’s cute when he smiles.
“So where are you from?”
“Ah…not too far from here, actually,” you return, playing at shy.
“No?” he chuckles, and the giggle threatening to bubble up past your lips finally wins over. You sway a little with the girlish sound. It’s all part of the act. You’re a normal human girl talking to a normal, albeit strikingly handsome, police officer. Everything is fine. “You sure? You aren’t from a little further up north? Think very carefully.”
You shake your head, grinning. The world around you spins delightfully when you do, fuzzing slightly about the edges. It’s really warm out here. You didn’t notice that before. It’s nice. “No. I don’t think so.”
“Don’t think so?” he echoes, stepping closer. That’s good. You like that. Your heartbeat quickens in your throat. “Weird way to answer…are you having trouble remembering?”
“Maybe.” You giggle again, feeling a thrill wash through your frame when he takes another step forward, threatening to invade your space. You fall back to the wall, leaning your head against it to allow yourself a better view of his smirk. Your head doesn’t want to stay upright properly, but the wall helps. If you can just get him a little closer…maybe you could…he is very handsome. And his lips…You stare at them with hunger pooling in your gut, intently watching the way they pull when he scoffs. Very kissable. Check.
“I’m gonna take a wild guess,” he murmurs in that low growl of his, “About who you really are…”
One hand comes up to brace against the wall, caging you in. You can feel his warmth now. Can smell the mint on his breath. Your stomach twists in anticipation. There’s something familiar in his expression now. A darkness. A hunger. You’re beyond pleased to see it in a face so handsome.
“Going by these…” he hums, and you feel a finger dragging against the column of your neck, slipping underneath the scarf. You huff a pleased breath, craning to press more of your skin towards him, nearly moaning when he presses his hot palm against the bitemarks in a curious fashion. “And…this…” His hand slides down, disentangling from the fabric, fingertips grazing your sternum, too close to the mark at your breast. He’s finding your little secrets very easily, you think with a hushed giggle. You wonder if he’ll get the next one. You hope he gets the next one. Arousal crawls down your spine and you arch at the thought, suddenly desperate for it.
“Hah, fuck, wow, that’s a reaction, huh? They treat you nice?”
You’re nodding, whimpering when his hand starts towards your hip. He nuzzles forward, presses a testing peck against your lips but you surge towards him, clutching at his wide shoulders, pulling him closer. He chuckles breathlessly against your mouth as you kiss him, a free hand going to his wrist and tugging it towards your inner thigh. He tastes like mint gum, warm lips caressing yours firmly, supple and pliant.
“Are you good for them?” he whispers between kisses. “Hmm?”
“So good,” you simper, humming when he nips lightly at your mouth. “I’m so good.”
“What do they call you? Are you their little whore? Little pet? Hm?” he clutches the meat of your thigh suddenly, and your approving squeak is muffled by his tongue, wet, slippery, sloppy.
“Could you be good for me too?” he growls when you part, licking across your swollen lips. The sound of it, already so rough, so low, has you twitching. “Could you add one more to your little collection?”
“Yes,” you’re tugging him closer, writhing when his hand ghosts to cup you between the legs, firm, possessive, demonstrative. “Y-Yes, yes, I can be good.”
“Can you be quiet?” he adds with a hushed laugh, raising his eyebrows at your fevered expression as you continue to scrabble at him, yanking on his jacket, his wrist, begging and twisting. “You have to—shh,” he shushes you when you keen, pressing his fingers closer to your pussy through Yoongi’s sweatpants, feeling for your heat and finding it easily, “You’re too fucking loud. You have to be quiet, or else—“
“She’s very vocal.”
You almost cry out in pleasure when you hear the voice that breaks through the cop’s low mumbling, arching and trembling against the wall. But he told you to hush, so you bite down on your lip, vision swimming with sweet obedience and heady recognition.
“I can see that.” The dark-eyed officer chuckles after a beat, his hand slipping from your apex despite your muffled, disappointed noise and attempts to pull him back. “Shocked nobody’s been called in for domestic disturbance around yours yet.” He pulls his hand from you easily, leaning back and turning to better address the owner of voice behind him.
Arousal skitters up your spine, coiling in your limbs, at the way Namjoon flicks you a momentary, disapproving look, his jaw ticking. Is he thinking of punishing you for this? You hope so. But his plump lips curve into an overly-pleasant smile, eyes crinkling as they cast to the other man.
“By all means, don’t let me interrupt.” He says smoothly. “You seemed to be enjoying yourself.”
“I’d hate to get in any real trouble,” is the reply, just as cool. “Have to set an example for Yugyeom, right?”
Your body itches. Everything is warm, soft, bubbly, and the heat of the man in front of you is like a furnace, the hot center of your universe. You sneak your fingers into his belt loops, scooting him closer to you, and he allows it with a vaguely smug expression.
Namjoon’s smile doesn’t move, frozen on his face. “Your border is a few miles north from here, isn’t it? You’re cutting it a little close, don’t you think? Jackson?”
Jackson blinks, straightening. He grabs your wandering hand by the wrist from where it had travelled around his side to his zipper (how on earth did it get there, you wonder with a snicker), holding it up and away from his body with one wide palm. You whine through your nose. “We’re just passing through.” His tone has turned more serious. Respectful. “Avoiding the main roads. Won’t be spending more than a few hours this close to your territory.”
“Passing through?”
Jackson hesitates.
“We’re leaving, Namjoon.”
Namjoon’s smile falls, curving into a confused frown, his brow creasing. “What do you mean, you’re leaving?”
“It’s too slim here. We’re not having any luck lately. It’s my turn to disappear anyways.”
You press up against Jackson’s side, trying to slide your other hand up under his shirt, but he catches that one, too, holding you prisoner against the tacky feel of leather and his body heat. You mewl pointedly, hands straining, rocking against him. What’s he so busy for? Can’t he see that you need it? Your mouth waters. You need it…Up against this wall, bent over—you imagine Namjoon joining in and the thought has you aching. You can always prove how good you are. Can always show your new friend how good you can be for him.
Namjoon’s frown takes his lips with it, bares his teeth in a grimace. “You can’t be serious. What, already? What are we supposed to do?”
Jackson cocks his head in your direction and returns your sly grin with a raise of his eyebrows, briefly looking you over with an expression that makes you wet. You hum, trying to send him psychic requests for touching, kissing, biting through your locked gaze.
“Looks like you’re already doing something.”
“She…she was an accident.”
“And here I thought you and Jin had finally made nice.” Jackson looks back to Namjoon, neck lolling with disbelief. He lets go of your hands, spinning and suddenly disentangling you from him in one smooth motion. He pushes your arms to your own chest and looks you dead in the eyes again. Hours pass where you’re lost in his eyes, caught in the endless depths of obsidian, floating in nothing and everything.
“Don’t. Move.”
A shiver wracks your body violently, and you have to throw yourself against the wall just to avoid crumpling to the ground with the pleasure that comes with obeying. You won’t move, you won’t move. You can do that for him. You press yourself to the brick, shuddering and panting quietly, eyes trained on his frame, watching how the world seems to heave with your every breath, lends him and Joon halos, makes heat spark and flare inside of you.
“You’re not actually leaving. We need you up north. Who’s taking your place?”
Jackson shakes his head, craning back to Namjoon. His tongue flits to wet his lips, gaze flicking upwards. You can think of better places his tongue could be. “No one. All of us are headed southwest.”
“Jaebum has better sense.”
“Back when it was an option.”
“You can’t just fucking leave, Jackson, we need cover. Now more than ever.”
“Wasn’t that the point of Jungkook?”
Ohh, Jungkook. You like Jungkook. Jungkook would take you. Press you up against the wall again, like when you met, but this time…you’re threatening to drool. Not moving is really hard.
“Jungkook is a kid. They’ll notice eventually. Jin isn’t thinking about the long term.”
“Then you’ll have to move anyways. You can’t just stubborn your way through everything, Namjoon.”
Namjoon’s smile returns, but it’s tight, dangerous. He looks like a predator. It’s a good look, makes you warm and wet all over, but you know better than anyone how to smooth it off him.
“I appreciate your opinion.”
“Good. I like giving it.”
“Stay out of my territory.” He pulls the phrase through his grin, low and heavy with threat. “If I catch any of you with so much as a toe over the line, I’ll pull you apart.”
“Wasn’t planning on it. Like I said, we’re just passing through. Thought we’d grab one for the road in between territories.” Jackson flashes you another glance and you shiver. “…I won’t say anything about her, though. For you.”
“I told you she was an accident. You know times are tough.”
“I don’t agree with taking them like this. I don’t know anyone who does.”
“It’s temporary.”
Jackson shrugs.
“I’ll leave her with you anyway.” He says finally, with a sniff. “From the smell of her, you’ve got enough to worry about with just the two of you involved.”
He ruffles the back of his hair as he starts to walk. Namjoon doesn’t step aside for him, only watching as he gets close. When he comes within distance, he reaches forward and takes his arm. It’s weirdly gentle, familiar. You wish he’d grab you instead. Less gently would be preferable. Be nice if you could move, also.
“Tell me someone is staying.” Namjoon pleads. His eyes are genuine as he searches the other man’s. “Someone, anyone. Tell me we’ve still got cover. That the riots won’t reach us.”
Jackson slowly, hesitantly, places his hand on top of Namjoon’s.
“…You said it yourself. Times are tough, Joon.” He replies, quiet. “I’m sorry.”
This time, when he moves to walk past, both hands slipping from his arm, Namjoon angles his body to the side to allow him the space to continue.
“By the way,” Jackson adds after a beat, “You might want to check the ‘most wanted’ lists for up north. I could be wrong, but I think you’ve got one more problem.”
Namjoon’s head drops into a defeated nod, worrying his lower lip through his teeth as Jackson turns the corner out of sight, back towards the entrance.
Don’t move, don’t move, don’t move. A particularly violent shudder courses through you and you whine at the feeling of disobedience, but your body is shaking, breath coming in irregular pants. You’ve broken out in a sweat, your entire frame twitching and needy. Namjoon’s form ahead of you has you wanting, knowing he could make it better, he could kiss and lick and bite and touch and fondle and you need him to. But he only stands there, brow furrowed at the concrete beneath his feet, scratching at the back of his neck distractedly.
“N-Namjoon,” you whisper before you can stop yourself, feeling a thrill race through you when he freezes. Jackson said you needed to be quiet, so you don’t dare say much else, but when Namjoon looks up and meets your eye with a steely glare, you bite back a whimper.
“And you,” he says, low. “What do you have to say for yourself, hm?”
You only watch him, shivering.
“Speak,” he commands.
“Please, please, Namjoon,” you’re begging, babbling loosed from your lips in a tidal wave, “Please, I’m so hot, I need, I need you, I’m so warm, Namjoon, I need—“
“Were you going to let him fuck you?”
“I—“
“Were you. Going to let Jackson fuck you?”
“….I…”  your mouth goes dry. At his scathing look you crumble. “Y-yes, yes, I wanted—“
“You were going to let him bite you?”
Your voice has become small, hesitant, but the surface of your skin still buzzes and every time you answer him, pleasure rushes up your spine. “Yes.”
“After I told you not to.”
“I’m hazed,” you whine, shuffling your feet, squeezing your thighs together.
He shakes his head, casting his glance to the side with an expression that morphs into desperation mirroring your own. “…Fuck.”
Yes. Yes, exactly. You concur.
“Come—” He gestures, but the movement doesn’t even register until you’ve already thrown yourself into his outstretched arm, nuzzling into his shirt, pressing as much of you against you as you can manage.
“—here,” he cuts off with a shocked wheeze when you slide your palm down past the front of his pants, rubbing for his cock through his jeans. A thrill runs through you at the realization that he isn’t soft under there. You growl. He grabs for your wrists, shaking, eyes wide as he tries to meet yours. “Hey, whoah, no—fuck, goddamn it.” “Naaaaaamjooon,” you complain. “I was gonna let you fuck me, too…”
“I can see that.” His voice is strangled. He pauses, grip briefly tightening over your wrists and you purr at the feeling.
“Get in the car,” he says finally.
“You could haze me more to get in the car,” you waggle your eyebrows at him, chuckling under your breath at the bubbliness of the world in the corners of your vision.
“Or I could tell you to get in the fucking car and then you just do it.”
“I’ll do something fucking for you, Namjoon.”
“Get. In the car.” He sounds strained, but you’ll take it. Eventually, he’ll give you what you want. You don’t even have to worry about it! You stumble with him to the car, giggling when he tries to usher you into the passenger’s side and avoid the way you’re trying to pull him on top of you.
By the time he comes around the other side to sit behind the wheel, he’s already chattering to himself under his breath. He does like to talk a lot.
“Get Hoseok to pull some strings with one of his, get those clothes bought, look up the wanted section—wanted? What the fuck does that have to do with anything? Godammit, Jackson—gotta give this time to wear off. Maybe we can sneak you past Yoongi. Maybe he’s sleeping. God, I hope he’s sleeping.”
Your hands are wandering again. Drifting over the center console as the car jerks roughly under you and starts speeding smoothly into the sunset. It’s way more interesting to you, what’s happening inside the vehicle. Your fingers dance over to Namjoon’s lap, trailing, watching his face for any sign that he’s going to stop you. His jaw clenches again and he throws you a grim glance.
“Don’t think about it.”
“Think about what.”
“You know what.”
“Taking your cock out?” You clarify innocently, watching with interest the shuddering inhale he takes. “Putting your cock in my mouth?”
“Exactly that.” His teeth are gritted.
“Tasting the tip?” you continue, curious, brushing a palm against his crotch, feeling triumphant at the way the fabric stirs, the way he shifts underneath you. “Or deeper?” Your mouth isn’t working exactly the way you’d like, you’re slurring pretty hard, but you’re already drooling at the thought of sucking him off.
“I’m trying to fucking drive,” he whines, and the sound takes you aback slightly, watching his brow crease in frustration. Consent. Namjoon likes consent. He likes it when you ask.
“Can I suck your dick?” You ask with a polite smile, delighted with yourself for figuring him out so quickly. “Namjoon?” His hips rise of their own volition, stuttering. He doesn’t reply beyond a sharp breath and you frown. Not a ‘no’. But not a yes.
Wait a minute. You’re being so silly. You’ve forgotten the most important part!
“Can I suck your dick, sir?...”
He growls.
“No.” he says. You pout. You did so well, and this is what you get for it. You’re a good girl, why is he going to act like this?
“But I—“
“No buts.” He snaps. “Hands to yourself. Don’t move until we get home.”
Gold dust bursts beneath your eyelids, gathers under your skin, slinks up your throat, and you lean back into the car to watch it curl up through the atmosphere. Your hands are by your side. Where they belong. Where they’ve always been. You barely even notice how hard Namjoon is breathing.
By the time you get home, the soft lights and rounded corners of the world have faded some—not enough to be gone, but enough that your attention has returned to the wetness between your legs. You’re so wet. There’s even a patch forming on Yoongi’s sweatpants. You hope he won’t mind. You recall the way he licked you up in the diner and shudder. He definitely won’t mind.
Namjoon leads you quickly out of the car and up the stairs to the apartment, refusing to look at you, eyes wild, brows furrowed, nostrils flaring and jaw working. He looks like he’s thinking about lots of important things. One of them ought to be how good you’ve been, and how much you need him to touch you, but you’ll let him come to that conclusion himself.
He halts violently in the front hall eyes wide.
“Shit.”
“…Namjoon?” Yoongi’s voice comes from the living room, sounding surprised, almost…guilty?
Namjoon immediately takes a few steps forward, body angled between you and the room.
You peer around him to snag a peek anyways. Yoongi stares back at you from his position on the couch, belly down and hunched over something black. The bags under his eyes are almost a weird shade of purple, they’re so dark. He looks like he’s dying, drawn and fixated. When your gazes meet, his tongue slips over his lips, slow, heady. You whimper before you’re even aware you’re doing it.
“Really? Yoongi?” Namjoon sounds exasperated. Worn thin.
“Really yourself,” Yoongi bites back, but his tone is gravelly. “When you said you were going shopping I thought it would be for longer than five minutes.”
“On the couch?”
Yoongi’s upper row of teeth suddenly bare in a lopsided grin with a mild chuckle. “Not the worst thing to happen on the couch. Right?”
His smile drops suddenly, nostrils flaring. A shiver crawls up your spine as you watch his hips rock forwards and his eyes flutter back in his head. “A-ah, fuck. What the fuck have you two been doing?...”
It isn’t until you feel Namjoons arm raising to halt you at your chest that you realize you’ve been scooting forward in a trance, trying to catch a closer look at the fabric that Yoongi presses his face into now with a low groan.
“Yoongi” Joon swallows, hard, “You should go back in your room.”
“She’s fucking hazed, isn’t she, Joon? Fuck, she’s so wet,” he continues to hiss under his breath, as if to himself. “Fuck, she’s so wet.”
This time you can see his arm shift, can hear a slick noise from underneath him, his breath catching. His jeans are hanging a little low on his hips, baring a black strip of underwear, you realize, and with that realization comes understanding. The fabric is Namjoon’s old hoodie. He’s got it pinned to the couch beneath him. When he nuzzles into it, you recognize the faded pattern from the hem brushing his nose. It’s upside down, so that his face is where…where your pussy was.
“It was a mistake,” Namjoon says while your world spins dizzyingly with arousal.
“Hmm…” Yoongi grunts, impossibly low in his throat. “Lots of those.” He doesn’t sound fully cognizant of what he’s saying. It’s absent, slurred. You see why when he twists his head again, mouth lolling open to lap secretively at the hoodie, his tongue pointed and firm. Arousal slips heat down your back, between your legs when you spot his bared teeth. Long, sharp, glistening with saliva as he exhales shakily. Oh, yes. That’s what you want.
Namjoon’s arm presses against you and he takes a half a step back, taking you with him even though you don’t really want to walk backwards. The way Yoongi tucks his head into the hoodie, his hair splaying against the fabric, inhales loudly, humps forward, hips curling with a sloppy sound that indicates just how wet he is in his own palm—it reminds you of an animal.
“Gonna bite holes in the couch, Joon,” he warns thick, muffled. “Mmm…I’m going to lose my fucking mind. She’s fucking hazed. God, I-I can’t do this.”
“It’s only been a day.” Namjoon’s voice is strained. You cast a curious look at him, but immediately your eye is drawn to the tent growing in his pants. He tries to move it, tries to casually tuck it out of view, but it’s too late, the damage is done, and a huff of desire escapes from your throat, eyes threatening to bulge out of your head. You like very much the way things are shaping up. “It’s only been a day—“
“Fuck. Fuck.”
“—We need to give her time to recover—“
Yoongi makes a noise that’s too close, too close, to a high-pitched whimper, his head still bent, hiding his face.
“Recover nothing, recover is bullshit,” he’s babbling, dark, frustrated, garbled by the pillows underneath him. “I need—“
“It’s not a good idea.”
“I need to be inside of her now, Namjoon.” Yoongi pulls his head back up, laying his cheek ontop of the hoodie. His eyes are blown wide, all traces of brown swallowed by obsidian, hooded and piercing as he meets your gaze, blazing a path straight through you. His delicate lips can barely keep his teeth at bay, bitten, abused pink playing peekaboo with glistening pinpricks of ivory. His jet hair spiders out across his forehead, stuck in places with sweat. “I need to drain her.”
“It isn’t a good—“
“I’ll kill you.” It fights its way past his lips, stuttering and stammering, like an addict denied his high, lent credence by the way he digs his nails into the sofa, ruts into his own hand. “I—I’ll, Joon, I’ll fucking kill you.”
There’s a pause of silence, punctuated only by your breathing and the soft fabric noises as Yoongi humps the couch.
“…No, you won’t.” Namjoon’s voice is soft. Quiet. He sighs through his nose, long and weary.
Yoongi opens his mouth to reply, but he stills at the same time you see movement in the corner of your eye. A hand drifting to the hem of Namjoon’s second hoodie. Its twin, on the other side. Shuffling its grip up, taking the hoodie and the scarf with it, peeling it up and over your head with all the gentleness of a caretaker. You can’t look away from Yoongi. He’s stopped moving entirely, too-bright eyes watching you from over the pillows, a snake in the grass ready to strike. You don’t think he’s breathing. Namjoon’s hands return, slipping long fingers beneath the elastic waistband. He shucks them off you, helping you step out by placing your hand on his shoulder. One leg at a time. You sway a little, completely nude, standing in the living room like a sacrificial offering to the heathen gods. And the intensity with which the creature on the couch watches you, your chest heaving with heady breath, tells you that analogy isn’t far off.
You next feel warmth at your hand, wandering fingers drifting to clutch yours in a show of unexpected softness.
“We aren’t going to hurt her,” Namjoon says, fighting to keep a tremble out of his voice. Is it excitement? Fear? “We’re going to take care of her. Right, Yoongi?”
“Fuck,” Yoongi whispers, eyes wide.
“We aren’t going to hurt her.”
“No.” Yoongi echoes.
“We’re going to take care of her.”
“Yes.”
“I will use force if I have to.”
“Mm.”
Namjoon nods, once. The hand at yours disappears, reappearing with a sudden grip of your hair, tugging your head back.
“You wanted so badly to suck cock, baby,” Namjoon snarls into your ear, sending hot breath coasting against your neck, making you squeal when he yanks unmercifully, his grip burning against your scalp, “Here’s your fucking chance. You’re going to take Yoongi down your throat like a good slut. I don’t want you coming up for breath. Do you understand?”
“I understand, sir,” you mewl immediately, scrabbling upwards, delicate fingers flying to his with no effect. The switch has left you reeling with whiplash, but it makes you shake all the same. All the same, it makes you ache. He releases you, shoving forward, and you stumble, catching yourself on the arm of the couch, just beside Yoongi’s head.
Yoongi still hasn’t moved. You slide to the front of the sofa, eyes trained on his, unable to keep down the feeling of being a steak in a lion’s den. But he uncurls from his position, turning to reveal his dick to you, head cocked, hands clutching the cushions on either side of his legs like he has half a mind to tear them to shreds.
You almost choke, just looking at him. Flushed a painful red from tip to base, bright veins bulging angrily, twitching in the cold air apart from his hand. Coated in precum, streaks shining in the light down what you can see of his lower belly, wet patches soaked through the bottom of his white shirt, glazing his cock. Under your stare, it oozes another dribble, and suddenly you’re famished.
“Please.”
It doesn’t register as a word until he shifts, legs widening, hands kneading. You look back to his face. He looks half out of his mind, eyes dark.
“Please.” He repeats, hoarse.
You’re already falling to your knees, jaw dropping opening with the sick plop of your tongue leaving the roof of your mouth, reaching for his thighs. His hips flex when you get close, easing his head past your lips and you can taste the heat before you even descend on him, sucking, laving at his fevered skin.
The noise he makes is sin, lust, and velvet. Not far from a purr. His hands don’t move from where they’re digging into the cushions, allowing you to take as much of him as you want, as much as you can. You fill your senses with him greedily; his taste, his smell, every twitch of his thighs and every bob of his cock into your mouth.
You feel wandering fingers trace your spine, curling around your ass, alighting to your dripping pussy with intent. When two push inside, eased tremendously by the seemingly endless slick that drips from your entrance, you arch into him.
“Y-You fuck her first,” Namjoon’s murmuring from behind as he presses his fingers into you, scissoring, stretching, curling seekingly. You hump against his hand, trying to push him deeper even as you suck Yoongi’s cock down your throat with a slavering eagerness. “Or-or maybe I do…M-maybe we…”
“Both,” Yoongi growls, sharp. A moan bubbles up around his member from your throat and his hips rise to meet the sensation, almost lazy if not for the way he shakes. You feel a hand curling into your hair less than gently, by your face, tugging your head a little to the side so that he can look you in the eye while you suckle at his head. He’s grinning, feral and distant. As your gazes lock, he scrunches his nose at you in a playful snarl.
“You have two holes for a reason, don’t you think?” he drawls past a slur. “Let’s see how wide we can stretch them.”
Behind you, Namjoon grunts deep in his throat and his pace stutters. “Sh-shit, that’s—“
“She wants it. You want it, don’t you? You want me in your ass. You want Namjoon in your cunt. Admit it.” He tsks, his tone dropping somehow lower. “Admit it, and we’ll prepare you first.”
He pulls you off his cock with a fierce tug of your locks caught between his knuckles, teeth baring again in a half smirk, half grimace as he watches you take deep gasping breaths with all the tenderness of a hawk surveying its squeaking prey.
“I—I do.”
“Little whore.” The vampire in front of you hisses, murmurs, but the thumb brushing against your swollen lips is akin to fond. “I know you do. You want Namjoon’s fingers in your tight little hole?”
You’re nodding into his palm, trying to shift your weight more comfortably on your knees. Either he doesn’t notice or he’s pretending not to, perfectly fine with allowing you to arch, crane. Twitching when Namjoon’s fingers bump against those perfect places inside of you with slick, overly wet noises.
“You want him to stretch you wide for me. You want to beg us for it.”
“I do. I want it.”
“I don’t know that she can take it,” Namjoon mumbles, hoarse, but his fingers give you one more pump, squelching into your arousal, before they’re sliding slowly out, tracing up back towards your spine.
“She’ll fucking take it.” Yoongi’s leading you back to his cock, pressing your cheek to his strained member. His head throws back with a low groan when you obligingly lick up as much of his skin as you can, tasting salt and feeling the heat under your tongue. “She’ll take it and she’ll love it.”
“I’ll take it so good,” you agree between laves, between sloppy kisses and slurps. “I’ll take it.”
Warmth presses experimentally against the tight ring of muscles at your ass. When you tense thoughtlessly, it immediately disappears, Namjoon exhaling shakily.
“I don’t think—“ he mumbles.
“I think,” Yoongi snaps. “Stop fucking thinking, Namjoon. Just do it.”
There’s a pause, a shuffling from behind you, the sound of a bottlecap popping open. The fingers return, and this time you make sure to roll towards them, humming your approval as you lathe up and down Yoongi’s member sloppily. This time, you recognize a much slicker feeling—he must have found lube. Just for you. How nice of him. One digit presses deeper, sinking into you and you huff a sigh at the strange sensation; even with the lube, it hurts, just a little, just a sting, but it’s warm and smooth, filling you up. Another finger pad rubs comforting circles into your clit as he pumps his finger steadily into your asshole. Yoongi purrs with appreciation at the both of your compliances, hips twitching.
“Mm, yeah, stretch her good. Stretch her so good, so I can slip right inside of that tight little ass.”
Namjoon introduces a second finger and you have to stop sucking Yoongi’s cock to rest your head in his lap, keening at the intrusion. It burns, it burns, but the thought of taking his member inside of you, the thought of taking both of them, has you shaking with anticipation.
“Hoseok’s gonna be so mad,” Yoongi mutters, watching you whimper and carding lithe fingers through your hair. “His loss.”
Namjoon’s abrupt chuckle is humorless and short. “Hoseok is in big trouble for that stunt he pulled last night.”
“Hmm? What stunt?” The corner of Yoongi’s mouth twitches upwards in a knowing grin. A hand explodes against your ass, forcing you to jump, working yourself harder on Namjoon’s fingers, and you moan thickly.
“Tell him.”
“H-Hoseok came in the room while I was being pun-punished,” You stutter as Namjoon slides a third finger into your quivering hole, stretching you further with a deep grunt. “He-he fucked my chest.”
Yoongi chuckles. “Shh,” he hums, mock-comforting, stroking your hair with one hand as his other drifts to his own member, teasing at the purpled, leaking head absently, drifting to lock around his base. “I know. I know. Did you like it? Hm? You did, didn’t you? I bet it made you so fuckin’ wet for Hobi’s cock.”
He makes a thick noise deep in his throat. “Namjoon.”
“Gently,” is the response. Namjoon’s fingers slip out of you, even as your body clamps down on him as if trying to convince him deeper, and the rush of pleasure as they’re removed has you shuddering. “Go slow.”
But Yoongi’s gripping your hair, patting your cheek, is excited and rushed. Feverish.
“Turn around. Turn around,” he urges.
Obediently, you sit up shakily, assisted by an arm slipping beneath yours, and turn to face Namjoon. At some point, he’s taken his shirt off, unbuttoned his pants to better stroke at the bulge growing at his crotch. His eyes are hooded, his lips are red from his own worrying. He flicks his eyebrows at you when Yoongi’s hand comes up with a sharp crack on your asscheek, jolting you forward. You can hear him shuffling out of his pants entirely behind you.
“Ready?” Joon asks.
You nod, leaning up and seeking out his lips again. He kisses you back briefly, hands alighting on your waist to encourage you down. Yoongi’s hands drift over your ass, your thighs, tugging you closer, pulling you to meet the hot skin of his lap. His fingers as they dance over your cheeks, shifting you open so that he can rub the tip of his dick against your opening. The hot, slick feeling of his velvet head finally breaching the tight ring of muscle has you gasping, scrabbling at Namjon’s arms.
Yoongi is definitely bigger than Namjoon’s fingers. As you sink down on him, impaling yourself on his cock, you clutch forward at Namjoon desperately, mouth open to allow for the breathless mewls escaping your throat. Behind you, Yoongi grunts and hums directly into your ear, tsking through his teeth.
“Are you okay, baby?” Namjoon murmurs, almost sweet if not for the feverishly intent way he watches his elder penetrate you. “Is that still good?”
“Big,” you hiccup, unconsciously trying to shift your hips to accommodate the girth as it parts your walls. “It-it’s big.”
“I know,” he soothes. He keeps up petting your cunt, brushing your clit, rubbing your tits. He leans forward, pressing soothing kisses to your collarbone, up your neck, the edge of your mouth. “I know. You tell me if it’s too much.”
“Oh fuck,” Yoongi growls, low, when he finally bottoms out, sheathing himself completely inside you. “Oh fuck. God, you take it so good. You take it so well. Are you sure Jin’s boys didn’t do this for you?”
“N-No.” You’re glowing at the praise, at the attention, as you adjust. The pain quiets to an ache the longer you sit there, but you won’t deny the twitching in your limbs, the leaking of your pussy. It isn’t taking you too long to warm to the idea of taking both of them at the same time.
“No? No, just us, hm? Think they’ll be jealous, Namjoon?” Yoongi catches your earlobe with a bite that’s a little too sharp, humming.
“Jealous that we got to have so much of baby? Oh, yeah.” Namjoon mumbles, kissing you deep. His tongue slides across yours, sweet and gentle. Your lips smack obnoxiously when you part, the sound so loud in this enclosed space between your faces. “Jealous that she’s ours.”
“Is that right?” Yoongi’s hips move experimentally, thrusting shallow, and you moan at the sensation. It’s like he’s reaching through you to your guts, and you love it. “Are you ours? Hmm?”
“Y-yours,” you choke, humping with him.
Eyes caught in yours, Namjoon fishes his cock out of his underwear, giving the thick length a pump, two, before he’s edging closer. He’s kissing you again as he sinks into you, and you melt into the bliss of being held so intimately, so gently. Yoongi at your back, rocky steadily into your ass, Joon at your front, thrusting into your wet pussy, both humming and grunting with the effort as you writhe helplessly between them. You’re so full, so full, disallowed from resting between thrusts with the alternating rhythm they quickly fall into.
“F-fuck,” Namjoon growls. “So good, you’re doing so good for us, baby.”
When he thrusts especially hard, you can feel it criminally deep inside of you and you arch, hips lifting to meet him. The feeling of both of them fucking into you simultaneously, breathing into your ears, moaning, has you roiling in ecstasy, strong, warm arms holding you up, moving you against them, caressing breasts and rolling your clit.
“I-I’m not going to fucking last…” Joon warns.
Yoongi chuckles breathily, licking his lips so sloppily it’s loud.
“Cum in her,” he demands, hoarse, “Give her everything. I want to feel it.”
There’s the sound of the lock turning at the front door. Namjoon’s pace quickens with a groan. He starts pounding into your cunt, leaning over you with his brow furrowed, lips parted, sweat making his neck, his cheeks, glisten. His cock fucks so smoothly into your cunt, stretching you around his girth, bottoming out and slipping until he finally settles for rocking up deep into you. The sounds his pelvis makes as he fucks you perfectly are loud, stuttering.
“Gonna, gonna,” he mumbles, licking up your lips.
“Hoo!” Hoseok’s voice calls from the front hall, “What is going on in…here…?”
Joon stills inside you with a violent thrust, cock buried deep inside of your guts, pulsing as he paints your walls with wet warmth, exhaling a grunt into the crook of your neck. Yoongi stills completely, moaning low in your ear.
There’s a pause, punctuated only by the heavy breathing of everyone present. Namjoon presses a sweet kiss to your mouth, humping once, twice, sliding his spent cock from your gaping hole with a hiss.
When he moves to look to Hoseok, you get to see him too.
Standing in the hall, a gym bag slung over his shoulder. His hair’s wet at his forehead with sweat. Under your stare, he licks his lips. His eyes are already smoldering, congenial grin faded into a hungry look.
“You guys having fun?” he asks, falsely conversational.
“No, it’s the worst.” Yoongi’s deadpan reply doesn’t earn him more than a flick of the eyes. “You should probably go back to the studio.”
“Sorry, Hope,” Namjoon interjects softly, still panting. “It—we didn’t mean to go this far.”
“I did.” Yoongi interrupts again in a whisper. You jolt at the feeling of his hot, slick tongue suddenly wetting a path up your neck to your ear. You squirm, both of you moaning quietly when you jostle his cock inside you.
Hoseok shrugs, lips curving into a pout. He slips his gym bag off his shoulder, tossing it carelessly to the ground as Joon flops to the side of the couch, far enough to be out of the way but close enough to keep a discerning eye on Yoongi.
“Well. I’m here now…” Hoseok says low, stalking closer. You’re suddenly very aware of how lewd you must look right now. Yoongi buried in your ass, Joon’s cum leaking out of your wrecked pussy.
“Hmmm about that…Hoseok misbehaved, didn’t he?” Yoongi murmurs into your ear, his breath tickling your neck. He shifts, beginning to roll into you again, stealing your breath. “Left you high and dry. What do you say we leave him?”
It’s impossible to concentrate, between his smooth fucking into your asshole, the way Joon’s rapidly cooling cum runs down your cunt, the smoldering glare that Hoseok throws your way.
“We can make him watch.” Yoongi’s next thrust is overly excited, and you jerk back into him with a loud moan, back arching as his cock parts your tight hole and slips up into your depths. It dislodges more of the cum inside you, encouraging it to ooze out in a fresh glob painting your slit. “Hmmm…we can make him watch and he can fucking cream all over himself in his ridiculous fucking pants. Make him clean it up, suck it up out of the fabric, no hands.”
“You wouldn’t dare.” Hoseok’s smile is not friendly. It’s dark, dangerous—not far removed from an animalistic sneer.
“You don’t think I would?” is the glib response, heavy with promise, punctuated by a grunt when you clench around him. Hoseok’s smile disappears.
“Fuck, fuck,” Yoongi pants into your skin, tsking through his teeth. “What a fucking idea. What a fucking idea. You want to see it, too, don’t you?”
“P-promised,” you stammer, mind reeling, toes curling.
“What was that, slut?” Yoongi snarls, a free hand curving around your neck. Namjoon’s eyes dart to his fingers with an expression that betrays how ready he is to save you, even as he continues to recover from his position on the floor, but Yoongi doesn’t tighten his grip more than enough to choke your words and make it difficult to slur through them.
“He, H-Hoseok promised, he promised, t-to fuck me.”
“He promised to fuck you.”
“Mm,” you whimper, nodding, vision swimming with heady pleasure.
“You can’t get enough, is that what you’re telling me?”
“N-no.” You moan when he starts to thrust even harder into you.
“Never enough cock for you. Never stuffed full enough, never satiated. It would take all of us, wouldn’t it, and still you’d beg for more. Tell me I’m wrong.
Come here,” he barks, fevered, without waiting for your reply. “Get over here.”
Automatically, Hoseok moves, the edges of his expression softening as Yoongi’s haze pulls a veil over his eyes. He doesn’t even get a full step forward before Yoongi is commanding him again.
“Down. Knees.”
Hoseok’s legs buckle at the knees, his head flopping forward, eyes fixated on the unbelievably erotic sight of Yoongi’s cock disappearing into you and reappearing covered in juices and lube, the way your pussy weeps clear arousal and thick white seed down your thighs, soaking into the couch beneath you.
“Tell her you’re sorry.”
“I’m sorry.” It escapes his mouth easily enough, but his lips twitch in a faint grimace afterwards, as though the words leave a bad taste on his tongue. Yoongi fucks harder into you, before grunting and suddenly grasping your hips with both hands, one on either side. You can feel him twitching deep inside of you, but he doesn’t cum yet, just rocks upwards, curls absently against your back.
“How sorry?”
“So sorry.”
“Prove it. Show her. How fucking sorry you are.”
Hoseok’s eyes flit upwards, catching you in their endless chocolatey depths. You feel warmth, palms, curling over your thighs, holding you splayed in front of him with long hands. Maintaining eye contact, he leans forward, jaw inching open, tongue presenting itself, before he makes contact with your pussy, licking a long, hot stripe upwards. A low moan claws its way out of your chest, your hips thrusting forwards and halted by their hands, Yoongi’s on your waist, Hoseok’s pinning you to Yoongi, forcing you to take it as he starts to eat you in earnest. He slurps up Namjoon’s cum like he daren’t waste a drop of it, sucking it off your lips, sliding his tongue everywhere but your clit, rubbing through your folds, dipping like a man possessed into your cunt to retrieve as much of it as he can taste. You convulse with every flick, humming and whining, sweating, straining against their grip as Hoseok tilts his head, maneuvering this way and that, as though determined to lick up every trace of Namjoon from you.
“That’s it,” Yoongi growls thickly. “That’s it, just like that. Make her cum and I’ll let you inside her.”
The response is immediate. Hoseok forces your thighs apart even further, lips finding your clit easily and attaching with a decadent slurp so loud and so obnoxious your ears ring, holding you down as you shake and arch into him, moaning unintelligible pleas for mercy as he sucks you up like his last meal. Your body wracks, shivering, and you hardly even realize how near you are until you’re finally shoved off the precipice. You’re cumming, hard, scrabbling for purchase on Yoongi’s thighs, the couch beneath you, Hoseok’s fingers. The scream that tears itself from your throat is raw, over-extended and cuts out entirely at the end as pleasure races through your entire body, forcing you to convulse and shake.
Yoongi’s steady fountain of curses barely registers until you realize he’s begging just as painfully, as desperately as you are.
“Fuck, Hoseok,” he hiccups, “Fuck, hurry up, get—get in her, fuck, I can—I’m gonna—“
“Was that nice?” Hoseok preens as he pulls away. His mouth and chin are shining, glazed with your arousal. He licks absently at it, slipping the waistband of his sweatpants down teasingly, catching your eyes with a hazy, prideful smirk. “Was that good? You want Hobi to fuck you now, pretty girl? You forgive me yet, hm?”
“Stop fucking around,” Yoongi bites, hands dashing to your thighs from around your back. He opens your folds for you, presenting you even more prettily to the other vampire, who watches you twitch with satisfaction and desire. “Come fuck the communal whore.”
Hoseok’s cock is thinner than Namjoon’s, but it’s longer. When he lines up with your entrance, guided easily by Yoongi’s fingers, and presses in with one smooth motion, you release a deep exhale, head thrown back over Yoongi’s shoulder.
“There you go. There you fucking go.” He encourages in a mumble, hands raising, one to your neck to caress and fondle, the other to your hip, to steady as he and Hoseok start thrusting in tandem.
Hobi’s hips flow into you effortlessly, curling, stroking the inside of your cunt with precision that leaves you breathless. The difference between the fevered way Yoongi now rams unevenly into your ass, drawing thick breaths through clenched teeth, has you clenching around the both of them.
You feel something against your palm, and you turn to look, meeting Namjoon’s eyes. He watches you caught between his brothers, expression heavy. He wraps his fingers around yours, and you realize his other hand is curled around his own dick, stroking himself to the time of Yoongi’s thrusts. He leans his head back, staring at you past hooded eyelids, plush lips parted in quiet huffs as he twitches and releases again, small spurts up his chest, decorating his abdomen. The sight of him, shining with sweat and cum, pleasuring himself as you bounce, filled up and defiled, makes you cry out, wrapping one thigh around Hosoeok’s ass.
“Gonna fill up this pretty ass,” Yoongi hisses, “Gonna fill you up so good, fuck.”
“Good girl,” Hobi soothes through his grin, “Good, just like that, take it, yeah, take it.”
Yoongi’s pace becomes even more erratic, even more uneven, his voice giving way to high pitched mewls and low grunts, burying his cock inside you with a growl.
“N-Nam—“ he pants suddenly, arching, pressing his lower half to your back.
Namjoon sits up with a rush, hand disentangling from yours to reach upwards, just over your shoulder, and you can feel the force as Yoongi’s head is thrown backwards into the cushion of the sofa. His prick twitches and throbs, finally emptying himself into the cavern of your asshole, filling you with wet warmth. Hobi pushes forward one last, long drawn-out time, and cums inside your cunt with a huffed breath almost of surprise.
Behind you, you can hear Yoongi hissing, growling, whimpering. You can feel the struggle as he thrashes against Namjoon’s hold, his fingernails beginning to dig into your hips.
“You fucker,” he spits, seething. “I’m so fucking hungry, you son of a bitch. It’s your fucking fault, you fuck.”
“Shh, Yoongi,” Namjoon soothes, brows knitted together. “Shh, I know. I know.”
“Fuck you, Namjoon, let me drain her fucking dry. You’re such a cunt.”
Hoseok slides out of you, watching your pussy leaking fresh cum with absent satisfaction, brushing a thumb against a flushed lip to collect some of it. He leans up, smearing it across your mouth and you lean forward into him, sucking the digit into your mouth with an exhausted moan.
“Hobi, get her off him.” Namjoon says, sharp.
“Alright, alright. Come on, pretty girl,” Hoseok urges gently, wrapping his palms underneath your ass to help lift you upwards. You try to prop your legs up under yourself, but you’re so sore, so used up, they’re almost completely useless. Yoongi’s member leaves your ass with a plop, his release already beginning to ooze down your thigh. His hands are hesitant to leave your waist, but eventually trail off, obeying hushed encouragement from Namjoon. Hoseok pulls you to stand, into his still-clothed chest, propping you up on your feet and letting you lean against him.
“Can you stand?” he murmurs into your ear. You’re shaky, disoriented, clutching everything you can reach of him. You shake your head ‘no’, burying your face into him, inhaling the comforting scent. “Okay.”
He slowly moves to collect his pants from the ground, keeping your hands on his shoulders as he bends. When he straightens, he pulls the soft material up your legs, wiping at the thick liquid flowing freely from your abused holes. When you flinch away at a slightly rougher tug, he apologizes quietly under his breath, craning to press a weirdly sweet kiss to your cheek.
“I’m gonna take her to get cleaned up,” he says over your shoulder, rubbing comforting circles into your lower back.
“Good,” Namjoon replies, distracted. Briefly, you feel a hand at your calf, stroking upwards in a soothing kind of manner. As Hoseok turns, leading you down to the hall, you catch a glimpse of Namjoon sitting beside Yoongi on the couch. They’re embracing now, both glistening, both panting. Their eyes are closed, Namjoon’s peacefully if not for the worry that creases his brow, Yoongi’s screwed tightly shut.
“Didn’t mean it.” You catch Yoongi’s deep mumble, choked with emotion, as he buries his face in Namjoon’s shoulder.
“I know. I know. It’s okay.” Namjoon’s hand brushes up his back reassuringly, even for how it shakes. “It’s okay. I’m sorry.”
Hoseok leads you slowly to the bathroom, props you up in the shower. The space is too tight, too small, to comfortably fit both of you, but he gets down to business washing you clean with the kind of care you’d expect from someone who’s done it a million times before. He keeps you upright, sudsing you up, rinsing you down, keeping your hands on his shoulders, occasionally placing a steadying arm around your waist while he cleans the rest of you with lukewarm water. He hums while he works, some absent tune you don’t recognize.
“Namu seems to really like you,” he pipes up. “I saw that handholding jerkoff thing.” He shakes his head, chuckling under his breath. “What a sap.”
You don’t have anything to respond with, so he continues.
“He’s not the type to like people easy, you know.” He sighs through his nose, craning to catch your eye with a nod to indicate how serious he’s being. “None of us are. I don’t know what Yoongi thinks…or if he does right now.”
He straightens to continue rinsing your hair, taking the utmost amount of care to avoid getting soap in your eyes.  It feels nice. Warm.
“But if Namjoon likes you…I guess we’re going to have to take better care of you.”
There’s a pause.
“I am sorry.” He says finally. He sounds sincere. “For the tit job.”
Now you look up at him, too tired to really say or think much, but hoping he gets the expression you mean to send him. He grins, wide, and boops your nose with the loofah with a giggle.
“It was really hot, though.” He adds, in a mock-defensive pout. “Really hot. I jacked off earlier today just thinking about it, you know. Shit, maybe I’m falling for you.”
That makes him laugh, his signature cackle bouncing off the tiles of the bathroom.

Ok, so here’s my ‘literally elements’ AU, chapter one. It’s my first time making a fic on tumblr, so bear with me.
“Is- is there anything else that I, uh, that I can do for you, sir?” The shopkeeper stutters out, staring at Lloyd in awe.
The teen shakes his head. “No, but thanks anyway. And, er, call me Lloyd, okay?” He forces a smile. The reverence people show can get kind of annoying after a while. After all, he’s only been the Master of the Elements for a year now.
And with that, Lloyd takes the pack of supplies and heads out. It’s been over a month since he’s checked on the elementals, so he needs to get on that.
In all honesty, he’s been putting it off. He’d much rather play video games and read comics than micromanage them.
With a sigh, the blond heads out. He’s in Jamanakai Village right now, so the closest place would be Zane’s home, the Glacier Barrens.
It’s a good thing he can’t get frostbite.
—————————-
Lloyd sighs as he reaches the edge of the snowy area. Thankfully, the elementals typically seek him out as soon as he steps into their territory, which is nice.
And just like he assumed, moments after he crosses the threshold into what’s officially the Glacier Barrens, the snow beside him begins to shift, and Zane forms from the frost.
“Lloyd.” He greets. “It has been a while.”
The teen smiles. “It has.” He agrees. “How’s everything going?”
The Master of Ice frowns. “The snowfall has been quite heavy, and it has begun to grow beyond my territory. I am not sure what to make of this, but I do not believe it is cause for concern.”
Lloyd nods. “Interactions with the others?” He prompts.
“Jay has been visiting more often than usual, and I think something is troubling him. But beyond that, I have had no arguments or major difficulties with them.”
The Master of the Elements opens his mouth to ask his next question, but Zane continues speaking.
“However, I have had some minor earthquakes disturbing my routine, and have not heard from Cole in a while.”
Hmm. Well, he’ll have to look into that. Cole typically limits the earthquakes to non populated areas- but there have been times when people have annoyed him to the point of more major tremors.
“Anything else I should know about?” Lloyd brings himself back to the conversation.
Zane shakes his head. “No, that is it. Would you like to stay for lunch? I have been working on some new recipes.”
Lloyd smiles. Zane’s food is some of the best he’s ever had- likely because he’s practiced his cooking for millennia. And while he does need to check on the others, well… a quick bite wouldn’t hurt.
“I’d love to.”
So the Master of Ice leads him to his cooking space- he doesn’t really have a house, considering that he doesn’t need sleep.
He actually has an abundance of ingredients, which seems kind of unexpected, considering where he lives. But he typically gets them from one of the others- usually Cole- in exchange for some of the food he uses said ingredients to make.
They talk idly while Zane cooks, and continue to do so while they eat. Lloyd shares news about the outside world, and the elemental eagerly asks for more details.
But soon enough, he has to head out. Bidding Zane goodbye, he heads off to find some cave or underground tunnel.
It’s time to go talk to Cole.
———————
Before he makes it somewhere underground, he comes across a storm- or more accurately, the storm comes across him. Looks like Jay found him first.
And sure enough, the Master of Lightning materializes in front of him. “Hey!” He greets cheerfully. “How’s everything been? I haven’t seen you in a while.”
Lloyd hesitates a moment, trying to come up with an excuse. He can’t exactly tell Jay that he was avoiding talking to them.
“That new Fritz Donnagen comic came out.” It’s not quite a lie, one did come out recently- and he was one of the first ones in line to get it.
Jay lights up- literally. Sparks fly off of him, and the smell of ozone that follows him grows stronger. “It did? What happened?! How did he get away from the Imperial Sludge?!”
Lloyd stifles a laugh and pulls the comic out of his bag. “I brought it for you.”
The elemental attempts to grab it from him, but Lloyd pulls back, leaving him grasping at air. “First, I need a report on how everything’s been going.”
Jay huffs. “Okay, okay. There’s been a minor heat wave- which affects my storms, by the way- and Kai’s been acting weird, so I’m not sure what’s going on with that. And it’s starting to get harder to control the rain- which I did have less control over already, rain isn’t lightning- but this level of minimal control is just weird. And I’ve tried talking to Zane a lot, but he seems pretty busy with something, so he hasn’t really been up for chit-chat. And-“
“Hold on.” Lloyd puts his hands up. “What’s going on with Zane?”
“I don’t know. He seems kinda stressed about something. Not sure what, it’s kinda weird, actually.” Jay frowns. “Come to think of it, even Cole’s been acting kind of suspicious.”
“You’ve spoken to Cole recently?” The teen frowns. Zane said he hasn’t had any contact with him, so it’s good to see that someone has.
“Yep. We were on top of a mountain and I swear, he got so upset that it nearly split in two! We weren’t talking about anything that could upset him like that, so I’m really not sure what set him off. Can I have the comic now?”
The Master of the Elements shakes his head. “Not yet, I have more questions.”
A pout crosses the ginger’s face, and he crosses his arms. “Ughhh. What else do you need to know?”
“You said that Cole’s been upset, Zane’s been hyper focused, and that Kai’s been acting weird. What do you mean by weird?”
“Well, there’s been a big heat wave down in the Sea of Sand, and the Boiling Sea has just been a mess. It’s so hot over there, I can’t even use rain to cool things down! Not to mention that trouble I’ve been having with the rain…”
Lloyd feels his brows furrow. Hmm. That doesn’t sound good. And why wouldn’t Zane tell him about whatever he’s worried about? Nothing seemed to be bothering him when Lloyd was there, but then again, Jay knows him better.
This is what he gets for putting things off.
“Do you have any idea why they might be so stressed out?”
Jay shakes his head. “Nope. Well, Cole mentioned something about Serpentine, but I’m not really sure why that’s such a big deal- they’ve never done anything he can’t handle.”
Lloyd nods and hands Jay the comic. “Thanks. I’ll check up on everyone.”
The Master of Lightning waves with a smile. “Good luck!”
And with that, he vanishes back into the storm.
————————
Lloyd carefully makes his way down into a cavern- he doesn’t really have a particular one he heads to each time, he just trusts that Cole will find him once he’s underground.
And sure enough, rubble shifts, and the Master of Earth stands beside him, leaning against a cavern wall. “It’s been a little while. Is everything okay?”
The teen nods. “Got caught up with some other things. How’s everything going down here?”
Cole hesitates. “I’m having some trouble with my powers.” He admits bluntly, getting straight to the point. “The earth hasn’t been responding the way I want it to, and some Serpentine have been taking advantage of that.”
Lloyd frowns. “What do you mean, it hasn’t been responding the way you want it to?”
“Moving the earth around takes a lot more effort than it used to, and, well, sometimes it doesn’t work at all.”
“And you’ve never had trouble with this before?”
Cole shakes his head. “Never.” He confirms. “I tried to head over to talk to Zane about it, but I couldn’t get there. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get inside his territory- it’s like there’s an extra layer of frost outside it.”
Lloyd nods slowly. “That’s… odd. Jay and I didn’t have any trouble getting in.”
“I’m not sure what’s up with that, but I have talked with Kai. I think he’s getting close to snapping with how upset he is at this whole thing.” The Master of Earth admits.
Lloyd curses under his breath. Kai’s always had difficulties with self-control, and having trouble with his element is just going to make all of that worse.
“I’ll check up on him now, unless there’s anything else you need to tell me.” Damn, he should’ve gone straight to see him as soon as he knew something was up!
Cole shakes his head. “Good luck.” And with that, he disappears back into the rubble.
Lloyd takes a deep breath. Time to find the nearest volcano.
————————
Torchfire Mountain was quite a ways away from where he was, and Lloyd didn’t even realize it would have been faster to go to the Fire Temple until he was standing at the base of the volcano.
With a sigh, the Master of the Elements begins to trek up. It takes several hours, and by the time he’s at the top, he’s exhausted. Maybe going to visit everyone in one day was a bad idea.
He sits down on the edge of the volcano’s rim, looking down at the lava below.
“Lloyd!” Kai greets. The teen almost flinches from the way he suddenly appears in the ash beside him. “I haven’t seen you in a little bit. Everything’s okay, right? You’re not hurt?”
He nods. “Yeah, I’m fine. Sorry to keep you waiting.”
Kai scooches closer, looking him over carefully. “You sure everything’s okay? If someone’s bothering you, I can-“
“I’m fine.” Lloyd interjects. “Really. But I’ve heard about everyone’s powers fluctuating, and I wanted to see if you’ve been having trouble with them, too.”
The Master of Fire looks away with a sigh. “Maybe a little bit.” He admits. “But it’s nothing I can’t handle.” He tacks the end on quickly, but Lloyd knows him well enough to know that the elemental is just worried about being seen as weak.
“The others have been having trouble too.” Lloyd tells him. “I think that there’s something going on here.”
Kai pauses a moment, but then nods. “There might be something going on at the Fire Temple, I’ve been feeling something off around there for a week or two.”
“A week or two? Which was it, one or two? This is important!” Lloyd stares.
The elemental scratches the back of his neck, a sheepish expression on his face. “I’m not sure.” He admits. “When you’ve been alive as long as I have, time can get kinda fuzzy.”
A sigh escapes him, but he knows that he can’t blame Kai for that. The Master of Fire has been alive for eons, it’s a wonder he has a grasp on the length of human time periods at all.
“I’ll go check it out.” Lloyd decides. “Anything else I should know?”
Kai shakes his head. “Loss of powers has been the only main issue. I’ll see you at the temple?”
The Master of the Elements nods. “I’ll see you there.”
So he begins his trek over to the Fire Temple, which is a little under a dozen miles from where he is now.
Sometimes Lloyd hates his job.

As we walked, I was still very nervous, with my body shaking and sweating cold because I didn't know exactly how to act, should I say something? I had no idea, so I just kept walking and tried to focus on what was important.
After we left the room where the ceremony was held, the bridesmaids continued in front of us, guiding us to the outside area, where there was a stone path, with several flower petals on the sides, together with several lights that adorned there, I couldn't help myself sigh a wow while I saw it all, it was ... just beautiful.
- Liked? - I hear Jason asking me, and I turn to face him as we continue walking.
- It's amazing. - I admit to him and look away from him, for some reason his look made me blush.
- Aweeee, you two are so cute together! - One of the flower girls who had black hair turned to us and kept walking back and throwing petals, she had a huge smile on her face. She should have been about six, eight at the most.
- Lian, you will fall if you keep walking backward. - It was just that he said that she lost her balance and almost fell, but she managed to be more agile and act as if nothing had happened, I couldn't help myself have a little laugh and Jason did the same.
As much as he seemed a little scary before, for some reason now he didn’t seem that much, I mean, he was huge, and obviously he was a warrior, his scars and muscular body proved it, he really looked like someone angry that you wouldn't want to get into a fight with, but after what that woman in the village said, my dad saying that maybe he wasn't as bad as I expected him to be, at the altar, he was trying to smile to make me feel more comfortable, and now he’s probably trying to find something to make things a little better, maybe he really wasn't that bad, but I couldn't jump to conclusions, my brain could be deceiving me to see what I wanted to see.
It was a short time to we arrived in an open area with several tables and chairs for the guests, there were also several lights hanging over the tables, I could see that in the background the sun was setting, I stopped for a moment to appreciate all that, it was really beautiful, I was speechless, even though I was stressed because of the whole situation, being there now made me feel a little more comfortable.
The venue was still empty, as the guests would arrive after us, and I didn't know exactly what I was supposed to do, I mean, we were probably going to greet the guests, but I wasn't sure about that. I looked at Jason and opened my mouth to speak, but I didn't have the courage to ask, but he must have realized that I was going to say something.
- Yes? - He raises his eyebrows doubtfully, waiting for me to speak.
- What exactly do we do now?
- Guests should arrive in a short time, so we should greet them and thank them for coming. - He said it as if it was the most obvious thing and that I should know, I mean, that was obvious, I just wanted to be sure.
- I understand. - I answer looking shyly where my feet should be, but that at the moment were hidden by the long dress, so I look where we had arrived, and soon the first to appear are my family, and then Jason's family.
They positioned themselves at our sides, and it wasn't long before the guests came, my nervousness returned again, I don’t really know if it left me at some point, to be honest, but it sure got worse now, what if I say something wrong? What if I can't say anything? But then I observe what my parents and Jason's family said, and then I repeated more or less the same.
It was tiring, there were several guests, people I never saw in my life but who acted as if I knew them, and that left me a little out of place.
Most people said things like: "You are such a beautiful and cute couple", "the ceremony was so beautiful, I couldn't stop the tears from falling", "it was a pleasure to see this wedding", "I hope you are very happy together", "you will have beautiful children", and many other things.
What irritated me was that everyone acted like Jason and I really loved each other, as if we dated for years and finally, after a long time we decided to get married, but all of that was a lie, even if I wanted to have that love between us, I knew it was a lie.
When all the guests were greeted and thanked, there was the photo session that was equally tiring and uncomfortable, mainly in the parts where I had to kiss Jason, not that it was bad to kiss him, but…. Do you know what I mean? It was fake and without passion, it wasn't cool. When the photo session ended my mom came over to talk to me, and Jason left me alone with her.
- Come on daughter, you have to change your dress. - Ah yes, the party dress, I had even forgotten that. My mom took me to my room and then left me alone for me to change.
Ah, at least a few minutes alone without anyone suffocating me, without unknown people hugging me and kissing my hand, it just made me more uncomfortable.
I looked at my left hand where the ring was, I didn't even have time to analyze it, it was very beautiful, full of details, and I must say, absolutely expensive, not that I know much about jewelry, but I’ve seen some carved rings like this cost the eye, or rather, cost a kidney.
The dress I was wearing was really long, and I'm happy to change it to one that was knee-deep, so I wouldn't be tripping over the dress all the time, on the other hand, my legs were exposed and I felt a little uncomfortable with that, even if the dress wasn't that short. I touched up my makeup slightly and then looked at my reflection for a while. I hear a knock on the door and my mother's voice.
- Are you ready?
- Yes. - I say monotonously and open the door, leaving the room, and so we went back to the outside area where the party was taking place, when we get there, most, or maybe all the guests look at me, and it makes me feel nervous and I feel my face heat up, my mom and I go to the big table where Jason, his family, and mine were sitting, besides the best man and bridesmaids. My mom sits next to my dad and brother, while I sit between my husband and my dad, while I try to ignore all the looks on me. As soon as I sit down, I hear the sound of someone gently tapping a glass to make a noise and catch the attention of everyone present.
- Now that the bride has arrived, let's go to the speeches! - Announced King Bruce, who started giving a speech talking about how happy he was with the wedding, that it meant peace and alliance between our kingdoms, and that finally, that war was over, he may have said other things, but I ended up not paying much attention.
When the king finished his speech, it was my father's turn, he was saying he was very happy and blah blah blah. After his little speech, the best man got up to do his, I didn't remember his name, but apparently he was very close to Jason. He said some things that I admit I didn't pay much attention to… y/n! focus!
- So, how about telling some funny moments of the groom? - I could see that Jason looked at the best man with a deadly look, but the redhead just ignored the look of the groom and kept talking. - Like that time, where it should be a normal night in a bar, just a few drinks, but he drank so much, he went so far as to want to kiss a tree saying that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen on Earth. I couldn't help but laugh, and neither did other guests, Jason laughed too, but I couldn't tell if it was genuine or fake, I felt a little guilty about laughing, but hey, I can't control my laughter.
- I could be telling several of these stories, but I can't spend the whole night talking, so I'm going to end this speech by saying to you, princess y/n,  the situation you two met may not have been the best, but if you have a little patience to put up with this guy, I know you’ll find that deep down, very deep down, he’s a cool guy. - I smile at the best man, and like other people, I clap for his speech, and he soon takes his seat. I look at Jason, and I can swear his face was slightly red, who would have thought a tough man like him could blush?
It was then that my maid of honor started giving her speech, and it made me nervous, what if she said something embarrassing in front of everyone? I tried to calm down and pay attention to what she said.
- I know that things didn't go exactly as you planned them, but I really hope you two get along. And as the best man of the groom did, I will tell you a little about the bride so that the prince can also learn a little more about y/n. And the first thing I think you deserve to know is that she is the most stubborn person that exists on the face of the Earth, and no y/n, there is no point in looking away because you know very well that this is true. Besides of course, also being the most clumsy person I’ve ever seen, I wonder how it’s never broken a bone being clumsy the way you are. - I laugh, maybe because of nervousness, but I had to agree with her lines because they were true. - But I don't want to talk only about your defects, I don't want to leave you with a bad impression, I can also tell you that y/n is one of the kindest, talented, and incredible person I have ever met. She may not want to admit it and want to run away from other people, but Jason, if you have a little patience and determination, behind her walls, you will realize that she is an amazing person.
I smile shyly, and I can feel Jason's gaze on me, and it makes me more nervous. But there was something that was bothering me, both the best man and the maid of honor were the only people who acted saying that it was kind of a forced situation, but why? Shouldn't they act like the others and just ignore the fact that it was all forced?
I didn't know if I thought that was a good situation or not, in a way I learned a little more about Jason and him about me, not that there were big things, but it was still something. Would he be as good as the best man says he is? I think my answer will come over time, and I hope it is true, not the opposite.
B / f / n kept telling some stories about me, and as soon as it was over, it was time to cut the wedding cake. Jason got up first and I got up right away, he offers his hand which I accept shyly, and then he guides me to the table where there was a big 6-layer cake, its decoration was beautiful, and of course, on the top, there was a mini-me and a mini Jason.
Before cutting the cake, had more photos, which even though I didn't see them, I wanted to set them on fire, because I was sure that my tired and uncomfortable face was very apparent. After the photos were taken, we finally cut the cake, and then pieces were distributed to the guests, and I was surprised when I ate the cake and it was f/c, I swore it would be a bad thing, but knowing that it was my favorite cake made me a little happier, who will not be happy with cake? Especially when it's your favorite?
The party went on normally, people talking at their tables, picking up food, coming over to where Jason or I was to be able to talk and etc. There was also the orchestra that was playing background music, it was not too loud so that people could talk to each other without having to shout.
It took some time until it was time for the couple to dance, meaning Jason and I would dance, just the two of us, in front of everyone, I don't even need to mention that it made me very nervous. Not that I don't know how to dance, I trained a lot with my father, and I already danced before, but dancing with all eyes on you, dancing with someone you don't know if know how to dance well or not, is complicated.
The music grew louder, and Jason offered his hand so we could go to the dancing floor and start dancing. He puts his right hand on my waist, and I hold his free hand with my right hand. For a while, I try to avoid looking at his face, but I knew it was better to look at him, it would be strange to see a couple dancing without looking at each other, so I had to gather all my strength to not look away from his eyes, that were so... mesmerizing. Maybe I was distracted for a few seconds and… stumbled?
Of course, I couldn't help being embarrassed even in my own marriage, just when several people are looking. I end up laughing nervously and Jason asks.
- Are you alright? - Even if we continued to dance as if nothing that just happened has happened, he asks me if I'm okay.
- Y-yes, I'm fine. - I answer awkwardly and we continue to dance until the music stops and another one starts, and now my father asks to dance with me.
And well, things went on, I danced with my father, then with the best man, and I must say it was kind of funny to dance with him for some reason, maybe it was your conversations that made me laugh. Then other guys from the nobility came to me to dance, it came to a point that I just couldn't stand my feet and I had to stop for a while, and during that break, I took the opportunity to eat something. As I ate in a corner, trying to be at peace for at least a few minutes, I see Jason who was not far from me, and one of the bridesmaids/flower girls, whose name I think was Lian, approaches him and pulls the sleeve of his suit.
- Uncle Jay, dance with me? - I notice that she makes a very cute face begging Jason to dance with her, he sighed, he was probably tired of dancing too, but he accepted the flower girl's request.
- Of course Lian. - When he answered the girl gave little jumps of joy, and the scene as it was cute was at the same time funny because Jason was a giant compared to the girl. Until to resolve the height differences, and so that he probably wouldn't have back pain, he picked Lian up and started dancing, and the girl was laughing with joy. Seeing that melted my heart, it was too cute.
But my happiness and my time alone didn't last long, I hadn’t even finished eating, and more guys came up saying they wanted to dance with me, and my feet wanted to scream in response, "I danced too much already, go find someone else to dance!" until the men start to discuss who would dance with me first since I didn't even have the opportunity to speak. They were very close to me, and there should be at least five there, I was feeling suffocated, I tried to speak, but they just ignored me, and I didn't want to be rude, so I just tried to get away, but it didn't help.
- Hey! Can't you just leave her alone? - I hear a familiar voice startling the guests there, it was the best man, who if I'm not mistaken his name was Roy or something. The guys got mad at him, but they left, leaving me alone with the best man.
- Thanks, I couldn't take these guys on me anymore. - I tell the redhead who smiles at me.
- Don't worry princess, I know that this whole situation must be very embarrassing and difficult for you, and having these guys drooling over you shouldn't improve the situation. - I laugh at your speech and shake my head in agreement. When he was about to leave, I took courage and talked to him.
- Wait.
- Yes? - He turns to me with a questioning look on his face.
- Y-you're Jason's friend, aren't you?
- I believe so. - He laughs and then continues. - Why?
I hesitated, I didn't know exactly what to ask, or rather, how to ask, I didn't want this to be more embarrassing than it already was, I look around, and see that Jason was far away, I take a deep breath and then ask the best man.
- What's he like? I mean, what is he really like? - The redhead scratches the back of his neck and looks around.
- We'd better go to a more reserved place. - He points to me following him, and so I did. The place we went to wasn't far from there, but it was empty, and I was relieved to be away from all that crowd, I analyze the place, and I see that from there it is possible to see the sea, and far away there were some islands where one of the villages of the kingdom of Gotham was.
- What did you hear about him? - Roy asks me, I was silent for a few seconds trying to find the right words.
- In the beginning, when they told me I was getting married, I heard things that weren't very good, to be honest. - The best man signals me to continue. - They had told me that he was an indomitable warrior, that he killed several people brutally, that he destroyed villages, and among other things like that.
- Hm, I'm not going to lie, that's true, Jason really did it. - Okay, that made me more nervous, my god, what man did I marry? Roy must have noticed my concern and spoke quickly afterward. - But he isn't just that. I mean, what most people know is his brutality, his stubbornness, and his skills as a warrior, but believe me, what I said in the speech is true, under that supposed "monster" that people call him, deep down, he's a very nice guy, he may not be very open with people, but if you give him time, and if you’re willing to meet him, I’m sure you’ll see a different guy than people usually say.
I nod, I don't think he would lie about Jason, would he? at least he didn't seem to be lying… and well, he didn't tell me exactly what Jason is like, so maybe he wants me to figure this out on my own.
- We better get back now. - Roy says pointing with his head to where the party was.
- Yes ... but I want to stay here for a little while. - He agrees and doesn't seem to want to insist, so he decides to go back to the party and leave me there alone.
I keep watching the sea and the whole landscape and general, I shiver a little because of the cold wind, it wasn't winter yet, but temperatures had already started to drop a lot. I got a slight fright when I realized that Jason was there, how did I not notice him coming?
- Sorry. - He says while scratching the back of his neck, I just shake my head and say that everything was fine.
- Are you alright? - Jason asks me after some time of silence.
- Yes, I just ... I was feeling a little suffocated with so many people. - I answer him as I nervously stroked my arm.
Who did I want to fool? Nothing was okay, there was no way to be okay, but even so, I thought I had to say I was okay so as not to disturb people. Jason seemed to want to say something, but he gives up and just keeps quiet.
- Maybe ... we'd better go back now. - I say going towards the party, but I'm stopped by Jason who took my wrist, but that he soon moves away. - Hmm?
- Are you sure you're okay? You can stay here longer if you need to.
- It's okay, and my parents will freak out if I disappear for a long time. - I have a little laugh when I think about it, and my husband laughs too, but I couldn't tell if it was because of what I said or by nervous, but it didn't matter that much. But before we go to the party, I take a deep breath and say. - Jason?
- Yes?
I automatically regretted it, why did I do it? I didn't even know what to say to him, so why did I call him? But now I had to say something, but what? Maybe I just wanted to talk to him to know more about him… but I was awful trying to talk to people.
- It's nothing, forget it. - I speak shaking my head and heading towards the party, and Jason comes right behind me.
I decide to sit a little at my chair at the big table so I can rest for a while, but I should suspect that this would not last too long, but when I look at whoever came to my side I am surprised to see that she was one of the flower girls, the one who was dancing with Jason, who believed her name was Lian.
- Hi Princess. - She says smiling at me.
- Huh, hi. - I say trying to return the smile.
- I wanted to say that I can't wait for you and Uncle Jason to have beautiful and cute babies, and know that I will always be willing to take care of them and hug and play with them a lot. - It looked like she was going to say something else, but Roy interrupts her by covering her mouth and taking her away.
- Sorry princess, my daughter doesn't know when it isn't convenient to speak. - He apologized for the girl and looked a little annoyed with her, he turns and says something to the flower girl something like "we've talked about this before Lian".
- It's okay, she wasn't disturbing.
- Are you sure? - He asks me while leaving his daughter free.
- How can this cuteness like me bother someone daddy? - Lian spoke convincingly and made me laugh.
- It's ok. - He agreed with his daughter's speech.
- Can I talk to the princess, daddy? - She asks looking at him piously, making the redhead sigh and then look at me.
- If it's okay for the princess.
- It's okay with me. - I say and I could see the girl jumping excitedly.
- Okay. But if she bothers you, let me know that I'm coming to get her. - The best man as he said left me alone with the flower girl, who sits in the chair next to me where Jason was previously.
- Your dress is very beautiful, princess.
- Thank you. Your dress is also very beautiful.
- Truth. But yours is much more incredibly beautiful.
- Huh, well... Thank you. - I say smiling.
- And Uncle Jason is also very handsome today. - She spoke looking at Jason who was talking to some people, I looked at him for some time, then I ask Lian.
- So you mean he's not normally handsome?
- Not when he wears that hideous armor that he wears almost always. It gets much better this way. - I end up laughing at the girl's speech, sometimes I forgot how sincere the children could be.
- Hey princess.
- Please, call me y/n.
- Then I will call you auntie y/n since you are my uncle's wife, that makes you my aunt, isn't it?
- Well, I think so. - I shrug and keep looking at Jason who was still talking to the guests whom I had no idea who they were.
- So, Auntie y/n, how did you and Uncle Jay meet?
I freeze for a moment, she really should believe that this was a real marriage, I mean, it was a real one, but it was arranged, and she certainly didn't know about it, and I didn't want to ruin her happiness.
- Well... it's a long story, you'll be bored. - I say trying to change the subject.
- I will not! I swear! And I have a long time to listen to you. - She says smiling hoping that I will tell her the story. What did I do now? If I lied, at one time or another she would discover that what I told was false, but if I told the truth... I couldn't tell that it was a forced marriage for her. I take a deep breath trying to find something to say.
- You are too young to hear this story. - I say, trying to get away from that, I had to change the conversation.
- But what it could have that I couldn't hear? Even more, I am very mature for my age, so tell me! Pleeeease! - I realized that she wasn't going to forget that and she wasn't going to stop until I told her.
- Hm, I need to talk to your father first to find out if he agrees to tell you this story, but for now, why don't we get some cake? - She nods and we went to get cake, it seems that I managed to get away from this temporarily, for how long I didn't know.
After we got cake and went back to the table, we talked about different subjects, and I was able to enjoy and discover some things about Jason talking to her, they were kind of silly things, but I admit they were cute too.
We talked until my mom came up to me and said that I should socialize with other people, I apologize to Lian and that I had to talk to some people, she understood and then went to her father.
I look nervously at the people around me, there were few that I knew, and I wasn't exactly a social person, so I didn't know who I should talk to or what to talk to. So I tell my mom that I didn't know who I should talk to, and then she said that to anyone, as long as I spoke to someone because it was not cool for the bride to ignore her guests, she then drags me over to where Jason was talking to some people.
- Huh, hi. - I say awkwardly when I approach them. At first, I was nervous about what to say, but they didn't seem to care and were kind and nice to me, I soon found out that they were Clark Kent and Diana Prince.
We talked for a while until my mom looked at me and signaled that I should talk to the rest of the guests too, Jason also seems to have understood what my mother had gesticulated and soon tells Clark and Diana that we had to talk to some other guests and that we would talk again later.
The good side is that Jason wasn't afraid to intrude on the conversation of others and start talking to them, so I didn't have to start the conversation, but to comment when necessary.
I don't know how long we stayed in this conversation with the guests, but I know it was a long time. In one of our conversations, we are interrupted by b/f/n.
- Hey y/n! It's time to throw the bouquet! - She said taking me to the area where I was supposed to stay and then gives me the bouquet.
- Okay. - I say nervously.
- PEOPLE! BUQUET TIME! - b/f/n shouts calling everyone to the women to get together so I can throw the bouquet.
- Is everyone ready? - I ask the people who answer in chorus a yes.
- 3… 2…. 1! - I count and then throw the bouquet, when I turn around I find that it was b/f/n who took the bouquet, and knowing her as I know her, she must have done everything and pushed everyone to get that bouquet.
Well, now I could sigh with relief, because soon the party was over, not before Jason and I had to say goodbye to all the guests. When it finished, several servants arrived to start cleaning up the mess that the place had become.
But even though the party was over, that night wasn't over yet. I go to my room, it was obvious that was going to happen, so the only thing I could do was try to get ready for that, right?
But I didn't know exactly what to do now, should I go to his room the way I'm now? Should I shower and put on some comfortable clothes or sexy clothes? I mean, I didn't even know if I had any clothes for that moment. I looked through all my bags for something that was good, but I sighed in frustration when I couldn't find something good enough. Well, I guess I should use whatever I like, shouldn't I? And it's not like he's going to run from me, at least I hoped it wouldn't.
I took a hot shower and when I left I put on shorts along with a tight tank, it might not be a very sexy outfit,  but I think it was better than nothing, isn’t it? I even thought about putting on a bra for a brief moment, but fuck it, I wasn't going to use this to sleep, especially when, well, if that was really going to happen, it's one less thing, isn't it?
I dry and comb my hair, letting my hair down. I stop and think what I would put on my feet, I hesitated for a moment, but I put on my dear slippers, and oh, how nice it was to wear something comfortable.
I look at myself in the mirror in my room, everything will be fine, I have to calm down. I sigh nervously before going to the door and leaving my room, now I had another problem, where the hell was his bedroom? And would he be there? When one of the servants passed by me, I decide to stop him and ask him.
- Huh, excuse me sir, but could you tell me where Prince Jason's bedroom is?
- Of course, princess y/n, follow me.
The sir who guided me seemed to be in his 50s or 60s, but I couldn't say for sure, he had gray hair, but I think his hair was once black, and his eyes were a light blue. He guided me through that giant place until we got to a door, which I assumed was Jason's room.
- We arrived princess, feel free. - He spoke and did a little reverence.
- Huh, thank you. - I tell him before he leaves. I look at the door and I'm hesitant, I could feel the butterflies in my stomach and my whole body trembling, because of jitters and a little cold too. I take a deep breath and knock on the door to get it over with.
- Who is it? - I hear his voice, he seemed to be a little angry for some reason, and of course, it didn't improve my situation.
- I-it's me, y / n.
- Huh… ok, you can come in. - He said in a softer voice than before.
I open the door to his room and when I enter I realize that he was undoing his tie, he must have arrived there shortly. Jason lifts his head and starts looking at me, and I can feel my face heat up.
- Hum, do you need anything? - He clears his throat, but even though I wasn't looking at him, I could feel his gaze on me.
How was I going to say that? Hey! Time to have sex isn't it? Why else do you think I would be here in your room wearing these clothes? But of course, I didn't have the courage to say that. I bite my lips for a moment before I answer him.
- You know. - I say as I close the door behind me.
- Got it. - There was a moment of awkward silence between the two of us, what was I supposed to do? Talk to him? Kiss him? To be honest, the only thing I really wanted to do at that moment was to sleep since it had been days since I had adequate sleep, let's say sleeping in a carriage is not the best thing in the world.
- Are you sure you want to do this? - He asks me after some time, he approaches me, but there was still a distance between us.
- That's what everyone wants, isn't it? - Jason takes a deep breath and seems to think a lot about what he would say.
- Look, let's be frank here. It's just the two of us now, we don't have to pretend to be happy now just to please those fucking nobles. - His voice starts to get angry again, which made me shrink a little. - It doesn't depend on them, it depends on both of us, and if you don't want that, you don't have to.
I look at him for a moment, then look away again.
- You… won't you… make me do this?
- Of course not! I don't know what the fuck you heard about me, but believe me, I would never do that. - In a way I feel a little more relieved to hear that. - We don't need to do this if you don't want to.
I was silent thinking about what I could answer.
- And you... don't want that?
- No. I mean, yes, of course I would, but not in that forced way, and not because of other people.
- I understand. - I can feel tears filling my eyes, but I don't know exactly why, maybe they were relief? or maybe from all the stress I went through? I don’t know. But I held on so they wouldn't fall, I didn't want him to see me cry.
- I need to shower now. - He grabs some wardrobe clothes and a bath towel, and so he went into the bathroom, without saying anything else.
My heart was still beating very fast, and that feeling of butterflies in my stomach continued, I let my tears fall and then wipe it away. I had to put together myself, I breathe calmly and lie down on his bed, which was incredibly soft. Why did I lie there? Well, I thought that even if we weren't going to do that, if I left his room for mine, people would know that we didn’t have sex and would be filling me up because of it. When I was almost asleep, I hear the bathroom door opening.
- Huh, are you going to stay here? - He asked me before going to turn off the lights.
- If I leave here, it will be obvious that we didn't do that, and people will ask us questions, and I just want to avoid that. But if you want, I can go back to my room. - I say avoiding looking at him.
- No, you don't have to. - He climbs on the bed and then we were both silent, even if it was a strange situation, something told me that I would have to get used to it, I just sigh and try to sleep, which didn't take much effort since I was very tired.

A / n: chapter 2 finished! :D I hope you liked it, I feel like maybe it didn't look as good as the first one, but I think it was because I had a little headache/sleep and it makes me write some nonsense things, but I really hope that everything I wrote makes sense, btw, I had even written another ending, but it would be very different from how I wanted it to be because that ending they were starting to get along really well, and I didn't want that yet, but I hope this ending was good, it was inspired again by @writingblock101 fanfic, especially the ending since I didn’t know how to do it, so sorry if it looks like it, and if you don’t feel good about it I can try to find another way to finish this chapter.
Maybe I'll post the other ending in another post if someone wants to read it, and not that that ending is bad, but I think it would be confusing because of the next chapters where they are slowly trying to get closer. Anyway, Idk how to explain it, but you will understand what I mean in the next chapters.
I really hope you enjoyed this chapter, any English errors, or if you think something is very confusing, please let me know.
Until the next chapter!
See ya!
