Is it weird that I know full well who Cat Noir is and what he's like as a civilian but every time I "try to imagine" his civilian identity I can only picture a carefree but troubled ragamuffin street urchin boy

The cat's meow!
So I started watching Miraculous Ladybug near the end of last year! I didn't fully get at first why people were so into this show, until I got to the episode with the umbrella scene where Adrien and Marinette first met, and the concept stuff and potential of this series made me get hooked.
I like this hero(?) magical boy(?) design a lot.
Since I also grew up on a ton of magical girl series and saw a lot of magical cat themed boys and girls back then as a kid too, I felt quite nostalgic by this.
Claws on the gloves, big cat bell, belt as a cat tail and really animated expressions. I love it! So this and that and this and that, I drew it and feel quite happy with it now.
The colours were quite different before I made a blue exclusion filter on it, I am not sure which one I like the most honestly.
Yada yada, have dark background version and sparkles
We love sparkles in this household

whatever you do don't think about all the lonely dinners adrien agreste has every night. he's had a full day at school and an amazing date with his girlfriend, yet he sits at that giant table waiting for someone who will never show up. even though. he's like three feet away in another room.

Imagine Ladybug assuming Chat Noir is a mediocre student because he seems like the type who wouldn't put much effort into studying. That he probably hates school.
And then when she finds out he's Adrien Agreste™- who's basically the best in class right after Max, thanks to all his homeschooling years, who's super serious about his grades, who loves school and learning.
Of course she just blue-screens in canon. I mean even I'm still surprised that boy is Chat Noir, and I'm the audience 😭

marinette is obviously such a pinterest girlie. and id like to think she definitely has a pinterest board for what she thinks chat noir is like behind the mask🥺 it's full of photos of friend groups and big families and travelling to different places. she thinks his life is just as free and happy and fun that he makes spending time with him feel

I think more fic writers should copy ideas from other writers. Specifically, ideas from OTHER fandoms.
For example, it's a big thing in the Miraculous Ladybug fandom that someone from the future comes and drops Adrien and Marinette's baby on them. I WANT 19YR OLD ZORO AND SANJI TAKING CARE OF THEIR FUTURE DAUGHTER(s).
I want Adrien getting hit by an akuma that turns him 12-13 years old, right after he's lost his mom, and Marinette has to take care of him and in the process he learns about all his trauma. (Sanji age regression AU)
I want Sanji cracking puns like Chat Noir!!!!! I want Zoro flirting with Sanji unabashedly and Sandji thinking its a bit!!!

Adrien’s villain alternative versions are fascinating to me, because how easily he could fall and become them.
Chat Blanc: Being unable to choose between those he loves and that mental strain caused calamity.
Claw noir: Being unable to move on from the loss of his mother causing him to become bitter at the world.
Ephemeral: Being unable to escape his father’s control.
Anti Noir: The inability to control his powers causing the destruction of everyone.
All of those iterations stem from his inability to have control.
Therefore the final and his villain counterpart would be.
Calamity Noir.
An Adrien that has lost all control, and simply destroys. No emotion, no feeling, only destruction. Adrien has given up trying to stop himself, believing he is alone and lost. He is helpless and all that is left is for the world to feel the same way.

the reverse-nurturing urge to put angst ridden, narratively downtrodden characters through even more angst and even more emotionally challenging scenarios so they could hit absolute rock bottom and climb their way uphill without fear of failure and understand just how awesome they are and show everyone else the very same like no babe, i do NOT wanna give them cookies and blankets; how about a walk through metaphorical lava instead????

and now that season 5 is finished…
What are the bad writing decisions, you can predict for season 6 ?
just for laughs
Off the top of my head, I'd say
Marinette won't feel guilty about hiding the truth from Adrien at all.
Adrien will learn the truth about his father from Lila, but he won't hold Marinette accountable because he thinks that he was still a good person or because Marinette "Did it out of love".
Lila will create some new kind of Akuma that's supposedly meant to be more powerful, yet more often than not, it's just used on the same targets (Mr. Pigeon, Gigantitan, Glaciator, etc.).
A good chunk of Ladybug's team (seriously, it's been five seasons and we don't have an official name for this?) will be busy overseas for very mundane reasons and can't be bothered to come back and help Ladybug until the finale.
Either that, or Lila manages to recruit some of the temp heroes to her side so we can have another Battle of the Miraculous.
We'll get a new disabled character or a character who's a person of color, and while Astruc will boast about how inclusive this makes his show, they'll only appear for an episode or two at most.

i LOVEEE rebellious teen adrien. with a burning passion. like him sticking up for himself, telling gabriel to choke, sneaking out to party with his friends and not giving a flying fuck who knows or sees. just adrien forming an identity for himself and loving every part of it.
