You remember the day when you and Diluc said your vows to each other— and had your amazing moment together when you both got married.

It was all so lovely, and after that— you both even decided to have a child! So of course, you both made love to each other.

The marriage was absolutely perfect in every way, Diluc was loving to you and helped you along your pregnancy journey. You were so glad to meet a man like him, or were you?

One night, you came back after having a nice day with Kaeya and the Favonius Knights— talking about your pregnancy and others. Everything went well, and you were having fun talking with Kaeya and catching up with Lisa.

That was until later on— you went into the tavern with Kaeya— only to find him with another woman. Was that the honorary knight? It must be, she's known her her heroic deeds, beautiful looks, kind and open minded personality.

Ever since that incident of Stormterror, you were certain that Diluc love you— up to now of course.

You sat down next to Kaeya, your eyes were instantly looking at the two from across.

While walking around the road of Mondstadt— you find your eyes trailing off to a familiar man with..the Honorary Knight. It was Kaeya, and he was laughing and all gigglingly with the Honorary Knight. He was even holding them why their waist and being too close with them..

Your eyes widened at the sight, where was his ring? Usually he would wear his ring over his gloves, showing them off like a trophy but..it was no where to be seen.

Should you be worried? What should you do next? Should you tell him about the pregnancy?

Suddenly, you start to doubt his love for you and this marriage.

You were collecting some herbs for Albedo's experiment and you were happy to help your boyfriend.

You've been partners and lovers for a year and a few months, and you never felt so happy before. He was understanding and patient with you, he understood you like no other.

When coming back from your expedition from Liyue, you come to see the Traveler sprawled on the table with Albedo pleasing them.

You stood in shock and gulped the lump in your throat. What the hell was he doing? Why was he..doing that with the Honorary Knight? What..

You turned away with quiet steps, clutching your bag's strap tightly as you reimagine the scene of how Albedo looks when he was with the Honorary Knight.

Did he not love you? What happen? Aren't you enough? Are you enough for him? Is your love enough? Are you worthy of him?

...

You can't even bear the pain, the shock and hurt. You were glistening with tears, and hearing the sounds that the Traveler was making, and the voice of your boyfriend who was coaxing them.

How cruel can this even be.

VENTI

Crazy, being married to the Anemo archon? That was crazy.

But you didn't mind it, Venti or Barbatos was the love of your life— you both promised to never leave each other and to always love each other. You both even have matching accessories and rings to show your love for each other.

It was the day of the Windblume Festival, and you were ecstatic about it. Celebrating with your love was never boring, in fact, it always made you look with glee whenever you both celebrated together.

But perhaps today, you both aren't celebrating together.

You were waiting at Windrise, sitting at one of the trunks of the big oak tree— reminiscing the feeling of the gentle wind flowing freely past your skin and the fresh smell of nature.

It's been quite a while, and you've been waiting for quite a while now. You sighed and got off the trunk of tree, deciding to go to Mondstadt to find your beloved Barbatos.

But yet, you found yourself staring in shock at what he did. He was smiling so smugly and kissing..the Honorary Knight's neck..and looked like he enjoyed it.

To this day, this festival will only bring you pain and anguish— nothing but a reminder of his betrayal.

ZHONGLI

You and Zhongli or Morax, has been married for centuries— around 36 centuries to be prescised.

You both have matching rings to symbolise your eternal love and loyalty to each other. His friend knew about your marriage, and both support it.

Though, Zhongli was rather distint these days.

You wondered, why was he being distant? Did I do something wrong? Did I do something to make him mad?

You were thinking, and you decided to make it up to him. Maybe massaging his tense muscles or helping him with his work— maybe that would help him!

...

Well, you didn't expect that. You didn't expect your loyal and faithful lover, Zhongli, to have marks of kisses and hickies all over him. His hair and clothes were disheveled and he didn't even try to hide his burning and sweating face.

You had a clear doubt and suspicion of his loyalty and love towards you.

CHILDE

You remembered when you and Childe help each other out— on how you dragged him out of the abyss and saved him— about how he comforted you when no one did. You guys were childhood friends who got married. You both love each other dearly, and you know most of Childe's family members.

You were arriving in Liyue back from Inazuma. You were visiting your parents and you came back to see Childe. You've heard all the news about the Traveler and their companion— on how they defeated an ancient god whatsoever.

You reminisce the comforting smell of Liyue Harbor, and took a step out from the ship onto land. Childe was merely with the Traveler, being all friendly with them and all— though, he had a different look in his eyes. A look of desire.

The Traveler seemed unaware of Childe's desire towards them— and yet their companion is whining on how Childe is annoying and all of that.

Normally, Childe would've been here and you both would've been talking about your day and how everything went.

But today was different, you waved at Childe— beaming a smile, but that wasn't given back.

Why'd he look like he wanted the Traveler? Like...he wanted to ravish them? Are you not enough? Haven't you given enough of your love and attention?!

You've started to doubt your faith in him and this marriage.

XIAO

You and Xiao have been together for years now and your relationship as a married couples was healthy. You and Xiao shared the same feelings for each other— maybe that changed when he met the Traveler.

You were up at Wangshu Inn, waiting at the balcony for Xiao. Today, Xiao didn't seem to visit you much— and that was starting to worry you.

You asked Verr if she seen Xiao— and she only shook her head, implying that she hasn't seen Xiao. This was odd, usually your lover would appear before you and you both would've been engaged instead conversations or a cuddling session by now.

You decided to brush it off and just wait a bit longer— if your eyes were lying, you would've gotten yourself some glasses or something, but it wasn't any lie you've come up on, rather yet, it was the truth.

Xiao was with the Traveler...and the Traveler and then looked like they were about to kiss. What is this? Is this some sort of joke?! After..all of your faith and love..this is what he does?

You silently watched from afar, watching them kiss while you were holding a small gift box that was wrapped with pure love and devotion, from you.

It was your anniversary, and this anniversary would be the day to remind on how he loved someone else other than you.

Zhongli’s retirement was supposed to mean more time for his wife.

Married for centuries, and yet he felt they only saw each other as frequently as a mortal couple did in their entire lifetime. He’d promised her his undivided love and protection, and back in the Guili plains that had been possible– when it hadn’t just been him watching over the mortals– but here in Liyue it was… difficult. He was loath to admit it, but he was not holding up his end of the contract.

Even after the amendment they’d made following the archon war, that Liyue would come before her, it seemed to take up all his time. Yet she never complained, treating the bustling harbor like it was their child.

His retirement was as if their child had grown, leaving the house to find its place in the world. So how had spending time together gotten harder?

“I’m home, my dearest,” he called into the quiet house, taking care to keep his voice down.

One week, three days, eight hours, forty-two minutes and three seconds.

He’d been gone for a full week, nearly week and a half, and not even on official business, but rather as a favor to Wangsheng Funeral Parlor’s director because she was too busy to go to Inazuma.Y/n hadn’t been able to join him due to a mild illness at the time of his departure that would have made the boat ride miserable, and so had begun their longest separation since the cataclysm.

A warm scent reached his nose, and he looked up from taking his shoes off to find his wife standing before the entrance in an apron. There was a bandage tied around one of her fingers, and rice flour dusted across the apron.

“I made bamboo shoot soup.”

Her smile was contagious, and he quickly found himself donning a similar expression as she took his hand and led him to the table. A bottle of dandelion wine was set in the center next to a vase of glaze lilies and qingxins. The smell he’d noticed earlier was clearly coming from the pot on the stove that Y/n quickly returned to, serving up two bowls and setting them on the table.

“This is… an interesting array of decor,” Zhongli hummed once they finally sat down.

“Venti came by,” Y/n laughed, “just after you left, actually, he helped me around the house so that I could rest.” Zhongli nodded, begrudgingly thinking up a way to thank the drunken archon. “The flowers were a gift from Ganyu, I think she meant for me to put them in separate vases but…” She shrugged.

Zhongli finished his bite of bamboo, and looked up to find his wife awkwardly pushing her food around her bowl. She raised a piece of meat to her lips, but before she could take a bite, Zhongli urged her to finish her sentence.

“But?”

Y/n rarely clammed up like this, tensing up over something so suddenly. She ignored him for a moment, chewing slowly to buy herself more time. Zhongli set his chopsticks down and laced his hands in front of himself, indicating he had no intent of returning to dinner until she answered him.

“But, they kept me company.”

Y/n rolled her shoulders out and reached for her glass of wine. She frowned upon taking a sip, deciding that maybe dandelion wine and bamboo shoot soup weren’t the best pair, but continued on in order to avoid looking at her husband. There was no doubt in her mind that he was carefully considering her words, and she was not looking forward to-

“I’m sorry.”

She sighed. “No, no, don’t apologize.”

“Why?” Zhongli reached across the table and took her hands in his, running his thumb over her wedding ring. “It’s the very least I should do. I promised you my undivided love and protection, and I failed. I amended my promise, the vow I made to you centuries ago, and I have still– somehow– made you feel so alone that you would find comfort in the memories of our friends.”

“That’s not what I meant.”

“Then what did you mean?”

A long moment of silence cut through the house as Y/n lowered her gaze to their hands– hers cradled gently in his. Slowly, she removed Zhongli’s wedding ring, then his gloves, and replaced the ring before bringing his hands to her lips. She placed a kiss on either knuckle and then sighed, resting her forehead against them.

“Your retirement was supposed to be for us,” she whispered, “and I understand that this consultancy with Wangsheng funeral parlor is your way of living a mortal life, but even mortals make better time for their loved ones than you. We have forever, but forever will find its end before you know it.”

Zhongli couldn’t see her face, it was buried in his hands, but he could feel her heavy breathing as she stifled growing sobs.

“Look at me,” he whispered, removing his hands from her grasp to cup her face. Y/n’s eyes were glassy with unshed tears that stabbed at his heart. “I will speak with director Hu Tao and take some time off, and I’ll work on finding a balance. I promise.”

“Thank you.”

Y/n turned her face in his hands and kissed his palms.

“Don’t thank me, it’s what I should have done in the first place.”

Hesitantly, Y/n pulled Zhongli’s hands from her face and clasped them in front of her chest– pressing them over her heart.

“Dinner’s gone cold.”

“It has.”

“Why don’t we move on to the rest of the evening's plans?”

Zhongli chuckles, “You had more planned?”

“But of course, you must have been so lonely without me, I need to make up for that.”

Y/n stood up, pulling her husband with her. Before she could pull him any further though, he pulled her into his chest and wrapped his arms around her waist. She looked up at him with furrowed brows and a small pout.

“Are you sure you’re alright?”

Her pout dissipated into a small smile as she ran her hands up his chest and played with the collar of his jacket.

“I would tell you if I wasn’t. That was a term in our contract,” she whispered, barely a breath away from his lips before she pulled him in for a kiss.

It was gentle as Y/n ran her hands up around Zhongli’s neck, tugging on his ponytail and earning a short laugh before their lips connected again. Zhongli meanwhile slid his hands just barely under the slit in her qipao, earning a shudder as his claws gently raked over the thin under dress. He moved his hands lower, squeezing at the backs of her thighs.

“Up.”

Y/n jumped up, her skirt bunching up under Zhongli’s hands, wrapping her legs around his waist and giggling– face buried in his neck– as he finally carried her to their bedroom. She loosened his tie, undoing the top few buttons of his shirt and littering his neck with butterfly kisses. The door to their room opened, and she took the moment of brief distraction to bite down on the nape of his neck. Zhongli’s grip on her thighs tightened, and he let out a low groan while Y/n snickered softly.

“My bad.”

Zhongli nudged her head up and buried his face in her neck before biting her nape in return, earning a squeal and the squeeze of her thighs. In squeezing her thighs together around his waist, Y/n accidentally pulled herself closer and ground against Zhongli.

Zhongli groaned at the friction and whispered, “My bad,” in return, before dropping her onto the bed.

Without prompting, Y/n unfastened the buttons of her qipao while Zhongli shrugged off his jacket and vest, and finished unbuttoning his shirt. He looked up just in time to find his wife kneeling in front of him. She wrapped her arms back around his neck, burring one hand in his hair, and pulled him in for another kiss.

This one was hungrier. It wasn’t meant to reassure either of them, but rather make up for lost time. Both the time lost during his trip, and the time lost as the mortal life had consumed him.

Zhongli gently pushed Y/n back by the hips, forcing her to awkwardly shuffle around to untuck her dress from beneath her. As soon as it was released from beneath her legs, Zhongli grabbed the hem and pulled it off– leaving her in only her underwear. He gently ran his fingers along the deep mark he’d left on her nape earlier, a fond smile forming on his lips.

Rolling her eyes, Y/n grabbed the open sides of Zhongli’s shirt to pull him down with her when she fell backwards. The sudden shift in perspective startled him, and he was barely able to brace himself on his forearms to avoid crushing his wife.

“Hi, handsome.”

“Hello, my dearest.”

This time Zhongli was the first to lean in, placing a quick peck on her nose and then capturing her lips. Y/n wrapped her legs around his waist and slid her hand up to cup his face, while he moved one hand up to cup hers.

It honestly felt like they could stay like that forever, just holding one another, but Zhongli suddenly pulled away and trailed kisses down Y/n chest. He left gentle nips at random intervals, earning content sighs from his wife. She gently scratched at his scalp, tugging on occasion to make him groan.

There was something humorous in the way they’d both assumed they would jump each other's bones as soon as Zhongli had stepped in the door, and yet as time went on neither of them was sure they’d even get around to having sex tonight.

When Zhongli finally reached the hem of Y/n’s underwear and took a deep inhale, making her whine in embarrassment. Even after being married for centuries some of his more draconic habits, like his obsession with her scent, were embarrassing.

“My favorite scent,” he said, voice a low rumble as he teased her.

“Zhongli,” Y/n whined.

He slowly pulled her underwear down, letting his claws scrap against her skin. She kicked them off and then put her legs up on his shoulders before tapping the top of his head.

“Where’s my lovely husband?” She cooed, shuddering when he laughed– his breath hitting her clit.

“Really?”

“Really.”

He ducked down, kissing at her inner thighs as his horns and tail slowly took form. Y/n whined as he avoided giving her any stimulation, gripping at his horns and tugging only to earn herself a gentle smack from his tail.

Preparation and Planning [hehe…PP]

The attire

Diluc likes to spoil you. He has the money from his family business and on what else should he be spending it on if not on things that conjure such a sweet smile on your face :>

He gets a bit emotional once seeing himself in his wedding attire, cause then it really sinks in. He’s here. Picking out the suit that he’s gonna wear to his wedding, to YOUR wedding. Oh my god, he’s gonna marry you. You, the love of his life and his beloved partner ohdeararchons—

The bubbling champagne glasses of his cheery friends clink, a toast in the background, as he himself — refraining from alcohol while picking out such important garments — puts on his fifth potential wedding suit. The previous ones have been quite beautiful, but not to his taste in the end and he strived for your wedding to be absolutely perfect. While he was absentmindedly buttoning his black dress shirt, his thoughts drifted to you, his lovely fiancée. A small smile stretched out on his lips, one that he couldn’t fight when he thought of you, his ears dusted pink when he allowed himself to picture you in a wedding gown. The wedding cake

You two go to a local, fancy bakery to taste test and assemble your dream wedding cake.

He really could get used to this.

The actual wedding:

Boy, he’s so nervous.

So here’s the thing, his father had always been an anchor for him for anxious moments in his young years, Crepus being there to validate and reassure his son. During adulthood he found himself bottling things up and managing just fine, yet in this moment, he feels like a vulnerable young boy again. Yes, he’s suited up for his adult wedding with his very adult beloved. The first look had him in tears. He’s quite sniffly, but he’s trying to contain himself for the sake of the wedding and his image. Truthfully, he’s really excited to marry you. You are wonderful inside and out and he can’t wait for you to be his and for him to be yours.

As soon as he (somewhat) recovered, he opted to wrap his arms around you, forehead pressing against yours, as he whispers sweet nothings to you.

“I love you. My darling.”

Finally, it was was ceremony time! Tears were shed. A lot of them. Vows were exchanged through more tears and croaked out chuckles.

The kiss was chaste and loving, just utterly perfect, a perfect start for your married life.

Bennett cried, Razor was happy to be included, Klee was the little flower girl, Fischl was ??? Oz was translating.

Kaeya held the absolutely most perfect speech as the best man. More tears were shed. Both because of gooey soft feelings and just utter amusement at his funny remarks and embarrassing Diluc anecdotes.

The first dance was a dreamy but nervous waltz, Diluc’s refined training as a young boy slipping out as he lead you. Gently swirling you while his own eyes focused on your shared joy, smiling ever so softly at you in an absolutely love drunk fashion.

Diluc offered you his hand, leading you to the dance floor when his brother announced the first dance of the newlyweds.

Pulling you closer to his body, he placed one hand on your waist, while the other held your right hand, he smiled encouragingly when you placed your left hand on his shoulder.

You followed his steps, swaying and twirling to the familiar music. Your eyes never breaking away from each other, smitten love radiating from the both of you.

He looked incredibly handsome like this, hair out of his face, lips curled upwards in happiness. You never wanted to forget this moment.

In his eyes, your bright smile was something to be engraved and tucked away into his heart forever.

Eventually the music died down, leaving you two swaying in each other’s arms happily, him pressing a kiss on your forehead, before resting his head against yours.

Chapter one | the prince's comfort

Chapter pairings: Kaeya x f! reader

Series synopsis: Born and bred to be empress, your clan has sent many women to the royal court but never the most coveted position out of them all. Thanks to your schematic family, the moment you came to this world was when the first empress has been rid of, presenting the fate of a mere newborn. What you said years ago may be forgotten as time flies, children grow, people change and so do their dreams. You look out the window in your wedding dress; everyone around you gushed and congratulated you on your new life but the receiver didn’t seem to be an enthusiastic bride.

The main path from Mondstadt gate to the cathedral was protected with an elemental barrier, behind those are joyous people who wave cloths, flowers, or simply their hands to welcome the new empress of the Teyvatian empire. The holy kingdom prepared grandiose decorations across their roofs, the sky, and especially the inside of the grand cathedral which took the sisters' breaths away.

All of these are to welcome the wedding of Emperor Pierro and the Empress (y/n) (l/n). There was a rumor about how her family went through extreme means to get her the position and it almost cost her the throne but the clever people from her house dissipated the rumor like smoke.

The shouts got louder and the Favonius knights became alert; all eyes focused on the carriage that stopped in front of the gate. The door opens before you know it, one step of your bejeweled shoe and the reveal of the hem of your white gown; the journalists soon scramble to take photos and describe your style, a race on who gets to publish an article first.

You grab the extended hand of your family's most loyal man, stepping out of the carriage with his help. Itto smiled brightly at you, one that always made you feel at ease as you're entering a foreign country on your first official visit. He was always the one who stuck by your side even if you used to be mean to him, following you like a puppy since you were kids. Sadly, the connection between you and him had to be severed inside the palace.

You beam at him slightly, nothing like the gratitude you feel inside for him since you had to be careful with your appearance, people like to nitpick anything they see. "Goodluck." he whispers, and you nod poker-faced before lifting your chin to walk to the cathedral.

It was exhausting, paired with the sun that scorched you throughout the long walk yet you can't move an inch of a complaint as your entourage of ladies are as stiff as stone. As soon as you reached the large doors, the knights don't immediately open them per instruction; “wait for her attendants to finish fixing the gown, hair, makeup, and when the attendants come back to their places, open the door wide for the new empress.”

The grand sight of the cathedral welcomes you with its glorious stained glass, sparkling chandeliers, and sunray spotlights while the heads of the guest turn to you. You walk slowly and confidently, passing without a glance at any of the seats until you see the two members of the Imperial family at your right. The emperor at the front and the blue-haired prince at his back; you glance at Pierro's features, and are once again reminded that you and him have a large age gap. He's dashing for his age at least; besides you're not marrying for love, you marry for power.

He offers you his hand and you take it, placing your soft skin against his rough and calloused palm. His hand was large as it covers your own for warmth, an action that eased you a bit. The organ resounds as the emperor and his new empress walk together to the altar, side by side, hand in hand to be blessed by the heavens.

After the wedding, the bride must be pampered to prepare herself for her night duties. Like how your hair was brushed by the servants, the tufts of light makeup on your face, your shoulder bare from the innocent yet provoking nightgown. The hands on you then stop when everyone hears a knock. "Come in" you command, and a shaking maid unable to meet your eyes stutters her announcement.

"Word-word came from the emperor's palace. The emperor has f...forgone the first night. He said that the empress may retire for the night as she is exhausted from the long journey to the palace."

Silence. Then the brush falls on the floor and the maid assigned to it screams her apologies. You don't what to feel about it but you were taught to decode the meaning behind one's actions. Were they already telling you your place in the palace? That you're just a young, naive, second empress? Does it mean he doesn't want an heir from you? Did he swear to never touch another woman after his wife died? you scoff—preposterous. Your left eye twitches as you grip the thin material of the nightgown too hard, your sharp manicured nails tearing a little hole in the lace. Oh how you wanted to rip it all apart.

"Everyone leave" One word from you and they all bow synchronized, leaving the tools at your vanity still arranged. You stand up and look at the window, gazing at the waning moon that's supposed to represent you. The moon of the empire. And it's getting smaller day by day just like the happiness dwindling out of you; to think that the palace would transform you into such a state…it’s frightening. You're so far away from home, far away from everyone and everything you knew and suddenly you're thrown into the den of wolves. With no one around you.

The lady that your family raised never cries, and is never vulnerable. She only shows her weakness that's made up and uses tears for the effect of capturing hearts. Unexpected it was that real tears dripped down from your eyes and onto your cheeks, and more unexpected it was that an intruder came to your palace late at night.

"Oh my. Why is the empress crying on her wedding day?" A playful voice rang from below and you wiped your tears fast, looking down on your balcony and seeing the blue-haired prince smirking. You squinted your eyes, putting up a cold defense as you're reading his face. Mocking? Was he mocking you? Maybe he already knew what happened, word travels fast in the palace.

"Prince Kaeya. Isn't my residence off limits without any permission to enter aside from the emperor? I'm afraid I haven't received news of your visitation." You say as a matter of fact and he froze, a fake reaction that made your blood boil.

"Oh? Sorry about that. I was used to playing around my home, ‘forgot someone is now occupying this place.” His gaze turned a bit serious at you. He subtly mentioned his mother, the first empress, being the constant reminder that you were foreign to the palace. Kaeya could be harboring ill feelings towards you and your family, for taking away his mother, and his father’s affection. What a kid. You have to set your position right since you can't keep being treated like this.

"Your mother is no longer here. As for that rumor…I’m afraid it has nothing to do with me." And at that, his smile fades on your effective provocation. "I'm the new empress now. Learn to respect me and stop dwelling on the past."

Kaeya nods as if taking your words seriously. He doesn't talk for a minute and you decided to retreat to your room until he states his reason for visiting to prevent you from going back.

"I don’t believe in rumors that happened years ago so no need to go down that path. I just wanted to comfort you." And you turn to him in a whirl, expression floored as he has the utmost satisfaction of seeing your face looking amusing. Comfort? What comfort?

"Come on empress, I'm just a bit older than you. We should be friends don't you think?" His age doesn't match his actions.

“I don’t want to talk to you.” “I don’t think so.” Kaeya shrugs.

"Don't get cocky now. You aren't even the crown prince yet." You retort and he rolls his eyes. “Why does everything have to be connected to the throne?.” He huffs a sigh testing your temperament.

“I always hear those nags about being the crown prince, thought you would be different. But I can't blame you after all...the palace is a dangerous place to live.” And he leaves before bowing down like a cherry topping from the disrespect he showed you tonight.

"I know that. But I'm not going to end up like your mother." You reply to yourself, watching his back getting smaller from your balcony.

After that incident, you tightened the security of your residence to prevent that prince from coming again. Yet it’s proven to be useless as Kaeya is persistent when he always manages to find you in the palace and greets you with a “Good morning empress”, kissing the back of your palm as you look down on him in disgust. He always sits on your afternoon tea uninvited, this time is not an exception. But you were left alone so you stood up, head twisting to look if anyone was around.

“You’ll break your neck if you keep doing that.” He casually drops, placing tea for himself and downing it right away, lacking the proper etiquette. You’re starting to question if he’s really the prince.

“You’d probably like that don’t you?” You sit down and snap, and Kaeya had to hide his little smile in the teacup. He’s feeling it, you’re responding and warming up to him. He calls for a servant and wine, a glass for him placed on the tablecloth as the dark liquor flows.

“I don’t like breaking necks but I like breaking backs.” He casually says while sipping, and you suddenly slam your teacup too loudly that it clangs. Kaeya who’s surprised by your actions thought you knew the innuendo behind it, but once again you never fail to disappoint him.

“How can a prince be so violent?” And he burst laughing, his tummy hurting from the childlike innocence and your expression that’s done with him. What was so funny? You feel suddenly conscious about what you said. Did you interpret it the wrong way?

“Are you drunk?”

Kaeya wipes the water from his eyes while you roll yours in exasperation. “I am not drunk nor violent like what you think. If you go out on the streets then you’d understand what I’m trying to say.” “I’m not that free to wander around in the streets. And I don’t like the messy and noisy environments.”

He nods, pouring you a cup of tea when he saw it’s empty. All of a sudden he had good etiquette. “What a good laugh. If you weren’t off limits, you’d certainly be by my side…”

Then he trails off, realizing he had a slip of the tongue and feared what face would you make. He has a knack for ruining things, didn’t he? Blue eyes slowly look at you, a side glance to see what would you feel about what he just said.

Kaeya thought you would feel disgusted about him having that kind of thoughts about you, but when he saw your face…It sparked a little hope in him that was too bright. He didn’t know if he should pursue it or leave it alone.

Your lips were curved, eyes blinking at him, mouth agape, and to him, you look flustered; just like the women he entraps with his flattery. “What did you say?” You croak, this was the first time your voice ever broke since you were a child. The empress can’t be vulnerable or show her feelings, that’s what you’ve been taught and drilled into your mind, it’s a very hard ideal to take out. But certain situations continuously show someone your inner feelings. The slight thump you felt in your heart was dangerous, it made you unable to speak and think properly.

“Empress-“

“This is highly inappropriate.”

“I was just joking!” “I think I need to go now. It’s not a nice joke.”

You stand up scared from your inner turmoil, you’ve never been taught how to handle awkward scenarios. And so, you turn away with one last glance at Kaeya, and you run to the comfort of your four walls. You feel insane, you can’t think about what he said earlier. Verifying and demanding answers should be first but you’re just here thinking about the deeper meaning of what he said. You don’t think you can approach him again.

He’s the emperor’s son for goodness sake! Your husband’s son! It’s a sin to be thinking about him like that, but he sinned first! You’re not in the wrong. It’s his fault, you should stay away from him and listen to your rational mind, reassess the situation —*knock*—you stop pacing around the room and suddenly fear the door. Instead of telling them to come in, you grab the door harshly to reveal the maid who was shocked at your appearance. Your mood went down as if expecting someone else.

“What is it?” “Your Majesty. His Highness, Prince Kaeya requests for approval of visitation.” Your eyes slightly widen but you keep it together, preventing the maid from seeing any reaction. “When?” “Right now. He’s with the front guards.” You swallow and nod, thinking of his reason for visitation. He usually barges in but now he has the thought of following protocol. “Let him in. Lead him to the drawing room.”

He makes you so confused and stressed, earlier you just said to keep your distance from him but you can’t bear the thought of turning him away. You stare at yourself in the mirror, examining yourself if you look good enough, flattening and smoothing stray hairs, grabbing your favorite perfume, and glaring at it. Who wears perfume to sleep? You place it back down, and you stop at your indecent attire. Should you change to a more appropriate dress? Your mind was going back and forth, whether should you follow the right path or stray from it; until the overthinking ate you up with no time left to change as a knock resounds on the other side of the door.

“Come in”

The maid bows at the side, announcing Kaeya who’s looking at you with an unreadable expression. “No one shall come near my chambers. You may go now.” No questions asked the maid departs with a bow to the both of you. Shy gazes and an uncomfortable silence ensue as you make way for Kaeya and he enters timidly.

“I’ll get you tea. I have no liquor inside my room.” You walk away yet he pulls on your coverup, exposing a bit of skin on your shoulder that scandalizes you. “Prince! What are you-“ Kaeya’s blue eyes linger on the bare skin, who knows what’s on his mind? You try to read his expression; his predatory gaze, his lips ajar, and his grip on your nightgown crumpled, all those details tell you what he wants. Your brows furrow in frustration from being able to read his actions. And so, you snap him out of his trance, putting back the cover on your shoulder. “What’s your excuse this time?”

He clears his throat. “I wanted to apologize the other day. You ran off so suddenly so I must have shocked you. It was inappropriate of me to say that-”

“It’s alright, I’m sure it was just a little mistake.” Your cold voice pierced through the air, cutting off his words. He nodded, looking down before staring at you darkly, it made you uneasy.

“If you don’t have anything to say, you can go now.” “I have something to say. I still haven’t apologized properly.”

Kaeya grabs your fingers lightly, looking down at them before speaking his mind. “I’m sorry for the other day but I wasn’t lying. And I can’t forget about it…” He says, forcing you to a corner as your mind goes haywire on what he’s trying to get to you. The answer was dangling in front of yet you refuse to look into it, afraid of what it will do to you. Yet that danger seemed to be exciting, thrilling, captivating; a trap for anyone who dives into it, and you, are a mere human who fell in.

“What are you trying to say?” A scared hush comes from your lips, fearing for the knowing response that comes next. It makes you squirm, makes your head spin, just as you find yourself anticipating his words.

“Just one time. A one-time thing. Please give me a chance.” Kaeya hopes he gets his message across to you, the overgrowing need for something forbidden was too strong. And it does get to you, but you needed one last confirmation from him that he’s ready to do this.

“I think you’ve gone insane. Do you even know what you’re saying?” you ask, suspicious he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, yet Kaeya knows very well what he’s getting himself into. He already made up his mind before coming here.

“I know…I know I hate seeing you cry. So please, let me wipe those tears away.” What tears? Oh, the one that fell from your eye, placing itself on your cheek; too many unknown emotions swirling inside are overwhelming you as your face then contorts.

“Let me make up for what my father lacked.”

Kaeya hated his father in multiple instances, and one is for taking him away from you. One time in an event for noble children; he saw you falling and bruising your knee, crying in the grass, and he almost ran to go help you. He wanted to approach this pretty girl and make friends but— “Kaeya. Let’s go.” —his father’s stern voice pulled him back, his little body freezing at the command of the emperor, and he’s forced to watch another boy urgently pick you up.

And it even grew much more for trapping you inside the palace to become his wife, he was unbelievably disgusted when he knew you were chosen. Now this, his arrogant father canceling on your first night, abandoning the lonely empress and not even seeing or visiting you for once. His father was terribly good at deserting people. But why was he angry when he didn’t do anything to save you? He just wanted and visualized, keeping his anger to himself and never putting his mind to action.

He was a coward. Kaeya was a coward. And was coveting his father’s wife his first act of rebellion? He doesn’t know if this was brought by anger or lust, maybe both, but he can’t think of those now that he’s got you under his body.

Your hands claw at his v-neck shirt that barely covered his chest, his lips tasting you and making you his for the night. Just one night like he always does.

You never looked at him that way until recently. The coronation was the first time you saw him. You barely had time to admire the prince back then, and seeing him now you understand why he becomes the talk of the town. His eyes were a deep blue, hair patching his palette, and his skin had a different kind of beauty from what you knew. Kaeya was simply graced with a great appearance.

His sun-kissed skin glistens with sweat as he groans from pushing inside you, tears escaping from the corner of your eyes from the pain, and he wipes it away with his thumb, the other hand on your waist for him to squeeze. It was sure to bruise. “I’m sorry for the pain. It will be over soon.” He assures you as he sees you uncomfortable, guiding you through your first time.

“Try to breathe in and feel me inside you. You’ll feel much better.” Kaeya breathed hard as he starts pushing further, testing your depth as you cry out from the unfamiliar sensuality.

“It…it still hurts.”

He presses right below your tummy and you thrash open-mouthed. “There. You feel me right?”

Your body glides up and down as he changes pace, a hand pinning you to the soft sheets to gain full control over you. Getting a taste of the forbidden fruit, marking what’s not his, all of those a sin against his father and heaven. But the prince didn’t care even if he were to be struck with stones, he has no responsibility at this moment.

In between the sheets, you and him left your thrones, just two young souls who found each other in lust, not caring about the price they had to pay sooner. That was how humans succumbed to sin and lost themselves. Focused only on how their bodies worked, relishing the mind-numbing, body-curling experience as they lose their ability to speak, uttering animalistic sounds from their mouths.

“Kaeya! I feel weird, ah!” You moan, not knowing the ecstatic feeling building up inside you. He smirks, finding your inexperience cute. “Just let it go. It’s the best part.” and he stimulates your spot further to help you chase your high.

“Ah!” A wanton moan escapes your lips. What was this feeling? You know you’re secreting down there and that passing moment was just so addicting and relieving. You feel like you want to do it again with the way he shoves in and out. Kaeya shudders, finishing inside you while forgetting the possible consequence, his mind was not on the right track to think straight.

Wiping the sweat off his forehead, he looks down at your smaller, corrupted body that he just claimed. He did it. He stole another man's wife…One look at you fighting your sleep and he feels guilty knowing he won’t stay; he won’t even have the time to take care of you. This relationship was far too risky to continue, it could cost you both your lives and he doesn’t want to drag you into the dirt. You were still pure under all your layers, you shouldn’t be dirtied.

“Are you leaving now?” You break the silence, eyes closed to rest. “Miss me already?” And you fought the urge to open your eyes and glare at him. “Not that I want you to stay…but you said that you wanted to comfort me. You wanted to be friends.” You wondered what kind of friend he will be to you. And if friends even do something like that. You almost forgot you have a husband, how could you remember that man when you haven’t seen him since the wedding.

Kaeya laughs, breaking your thoughts of the emperor. “Can we still be friends after this? But I’m pretty sure this is a trend nowadays.” He says with an amusing look, guessing your response. “I definitely don’t want to be friends with someone I slept with. You said yourself this is a one-time thing.”

He almost forgot that. Kaeya never got rejected and speaking to you was the first time his pride got hurt. Raising his eyebrows in agreement, he nods and lays down beside you. “You need to take a bath or at least wash your lower half.”

You don’t understand why you need to take a bath on a tired body but then you feel the sticky liquid between your thighs. And in a fit of embarrassment, you turn your back on him, your stupid heart pounding from what happened earlier. “I don’t want to take a bath. I’m too tired.” You close your eyes to try escaping him and then surprisingly fall into slumber.

Kaeya watched your back for an hour even though he needed to leave immediately. You got quiet soon and he assumed you were sleeping, you needed it after all. He stands up from the bed, contemplating whether to touch you or not, because if he does, then he’ll stay and sleep here. Your heads are probably on a platter the next morning.

He doesn’t smile for there was nothing to smile about. There was only room for regrets and what-ifs. He dresses as quietly as possible, not wanting to bother the sleepy figure.

"Such a shame. You could've been my empress." He muses out loud before leaving for the night.

But what Kaeya didn’t know was that you were a light sleeper, trained to detect assassinations in your sleep, royals are prone to it after all. Thus, even the slightest noise of his pants woke you up.

You were wide-eyed, dazed, as the door closes and your room gets cold; he planted so many doubts coursing through your mind, together with questions of whether you became empress at the wrong time.

✰ you and scara graduated two years ago at the top of your university, as expected, and have been in the industry for two years since then; age 23

✰ fans fell in love with your chemistry on screen and good looks to match, shipping your characters and even you two off set

✰ you send him tiktok edits of himself all the time like he’s so hot you can’t help it and fans always expose him when they catch him liking edits of you as well

✰ jean had advised you to keep your relationship a secret in the beginning just as precaution. when you both got nominated for best upcoming actors was when you kissed on stage and broke the internet and soft launched it. you guys started working more shows and movies together because directors loved that your chemistry was genuine

✰ scara preferred to do horror related projects, he had a liking for all the gore and excitement. (ex: all of us are dead, sweet home, scream) but he got cast in a lot of romance after going public with your relationship since you both became the youngest it couple…he doesn’t mind since it’s with you but put the man in some horror pls!

✰ ei never attended any premieres or events until two years later when her company’s clothes were featured in a movie premiere and she and scara reconciled but its still a bit awkward

Kaeya Alberich is a terrible wingman

notes: chaos ensues. as it should. I should write more fics about character's being the reader's wingman because the sheer hilarity of situations a very dedicated friend can cause for a poor crushing soul is amazing

"Why, for the love of all that is holy, are you even so invested in my non-existent love life?", you pouted as Cavalry Captain Kaeya dragged you one step closer to Angel's Share.

"Well, see it as me doing you a favor", he shrugged with a grin on his face, "besides, at the latest at your wedding he'll have to get along with me again."

You raised an eyebrow. "And you really see no better options to bury your family feud than sending me, a poor innocent bystander who has done nothing wrong ever in their life, to the front lines to suffer miserably?" Kaeya chuckled at your hyperbole and linked his arm with yours joyfully.

"You do know you should just talk it out right?", you let out a sigh and shook your head. "I've found significant others make an excellent conversation starter", Kaeya insisted and you got the feeling he was just doing this for his own amusement. Actually that was exactly what he was doing. The streets were already pretty empty compared to Mondstadt's usual crowded market places and Kaeya had bribed you to accompany him to Angel's Share to see Diluc. With the threat 'If you don't make a move I might just have to tell him myself' he had sealed your fate and you could only pray to the archons that Kaeya would not deliberately make things awkward.

"I don't even like taverns", you whined and pulled your jacket tighter around you. "For someone who hates taverns you come here pretty often....and all that just to see my dear brother", Kaeya winked and you rolled your eyes. "You know that's not the main reason I come here. Venti also knows of my....", your voice quieted down and you hesitated, ".....feelings.....for Diluc and I come here to watch him so he doesn't spill my secrets after too much wine or GOD FORBID turns them into a musical number." Kaeya laughed. "I would love to see that."

Glad to see you're having fun with this, Kaeya...

Opening the door to the tavern, the two of you were met with the laughter and loud voices of drunk citizens, the smell of wine and the ethereal view of Diluc in a high ponytail and a short-sleeved shirt pouring drinks behind the counter of the bar. Your eyes fell on him and his presence seemed to immediately drown out your noisy and annoying environment. Enough so, that you accidentally bumped into a drunk customer who cursed at you under his breath and stumbled out of the door. You glared at Kaeya who was snickering about the whole ordeal.

"Well you certainly seem in high spirits", Diluc noticed and nodded towards Kaeya. "Yeah, today was a great day and I thought I'd celebrate it by coming here with my good friend, y/n", he gestured towards you and then towards his adoptive brother, "Diluc." "We literally know eachother-"

"Pay no mind to him", Diluc gave you a polite smile and offered the menu to you, "would you like to drink or eat something?" Kaeya nudged you with his leg and you remembered what he told you. "I'd like to have a grape juice", you said, not noticing you were nervously tapping with your fingers on the counter. Order a grape juice, Kaeya had said, Diluc loves that stuff.

And just as promised, Diluc seemed delighted by your answer. "I'm glad to see someone else appreciate grape juice as I do", he smiled and your heart skipped a beat, "it's my favorite. We actually have high-quality grape juice for a reduced price on our menu right now. I'll make it for you right away." Diluc prepared your juice and Kaeya's eyes fell onto the notice board on the wall, more specifically an ad that Angel's Share was looking for part-timers and new staff. "Actually, y/n here was interested in helping out at the tavern!", Kaeya announced and you stared at him in shock.

"Oh? Well that is a surprise", Diluc remarked curiously. "Slow down Kaeya, I haven't even sent an application or anything", you hissed. "That won't be necessary", Diluc said, "we're already aquainted and I'm sure you'd make a good addition to the team. If you still want to work here, that is. Angel's Share has been getting more crowded recently and we could use the help, even if it's just for a while." You sighed. How could you turn down that offer. You gave Kaeya another angry glare while Diluc was busy taking an order from a customer.

"If you want to, I can show you around a bit today", Diluc offered and turned to you again, "you won't have to do anything yet, but I could explain the tasks our staff does here and show you the kitchen and the wine cellar." "Yes, sure, I'd love that", you replied, not sure what you had gotten yourself into. Diluc seemed very professional and you were sure that's all there was to this encounter.

Kaeya stayed at the bar and said goodbye to you for now with an enthusiastic thumbs up as you followed Diluc to the backrooms of the tavern. He introduced you to the few kitchen staff members and showed you how some of the food was made, even letting you try some samples for free. Mainly being a bar, Angel's Share didn't actually offer a lot of food but there were a few nicely prepared appetizers and soups on the menu.

The wine cellar was way bigger than you had imagined and there was a plate with a couple of fresh grapes standing on a small table by the door for the employees. Diluc gestured for you to take some before also taking some for himself.

Given that most of Angel Share's business was selling drinks and promoting the wine and juice of the Dawn Winery, there weren't actually that many staff-only rooms to visit. The last on your list was the utensil closet. It was a small, dark room and as soon as both of you had stepped in it you became nervous at how close you were to Diluc. Meanwhile Diluc just kept on explaining what things to use for what tasks. You were trying to pay attention to the words he said instead of how nice his voice sounded when the door fell shut behind you due to a gust of wind.

Hold on a minute....a gust of wind? You internally cursed the very likely scenario that Kaeya had dragged the tone-deaf bard into this whole ordeal. You could practically hear the knight's amused voice in your head, lecturing you that at least it wasn't a musical number. Diluc switched places with you to try and open the door again. It did not work. "I'm sorry, this one's been a bit rusty for a while now, I should have hired someone to do some necessary repairs on this door already", he sighed and seemed genuinely sorry for this awkward situation.

He was so close.... Your heart was beating rapidly in your chest and the silence wasn't making things better. "This isn't good...I hope we get out of here soon enough", Diluc mumbled, still fidgeting with the door. "I hope it's not because of me" you said before you could stop yourself. "Oh?", Diluc looked at you surprised, "no, don't worry, I just need to get back to work as the customers would get impatient and angry otherwise. That's not good for the business. Your...." He cleared his throat. "Your company is quite enjoyable usually", he admitted.

You had spent some time with Diluc before. For a while, he had been nothing but an aquaintance, maybe even a friend, to you. You had sometimes taken walks or eaten together at Good Hunter when you happened to meet in the city and talked about whatever came to mind. Diluc, despite hating idle chit-chat, turned out to be an excellent conversation partner and he grew to appreciate that your interactions were more than simple small-talk. Conversing with you was so much easier than with a lot of people that he found himself actually regretting that he may have made you think that he disliked your talks when he expressed his distaste for small-talk. Things had changed when one day you noticed how much you missed his company when you hadn't seen him in a while. How beautiful his smile was, even though he seemed to smile so rarely. How he always made sure you were okay and told you to get home safely. Before you knew it you had fallen head over heels in love with Diluc.

You didn't notice you were staring at his lips the whole time. Your gaze quickly returned to his eyes and his hand brushed against yours. "I haven't seen you around a lot lately, are you doing alright?", Diluc inquired, as caring about your well-being as ever. You nodded and the two of you went back to silence. "We....I suppose we could have dinner again sometime?", Diluc asked. "I would like that", you smiled at him. "I-", he seemed as though he wanted to say something but quickly stopped himself.

"Was there something you wanted to say?", you asked and Diluc put a hand in his neck. "Well....I guess it's just....I found myself missing your company quite a bit. I'm glad we have the opportunity to work together now." Oh yeah, the work thing. You almost forgot about that. But your heart was beating even faster when you learnt that Diluc had actually missed you. That he wanted to be around you.

You both looked at each other like you just wanted to close the distance and confirm you felt the same. But Diluc was so hesitant about letting someone in and he sometimes felt like he was far away from you even if you were in the same room. Even if the room was a tiny closet at Angel's Share. "Honestly, I was a little worried I had done or said something that made you distance yourself from me", he confessed. "No, no, nothing of the sort", you immediately confirmed, "there were just some things I had to sort out, don't worry about it."

"If you want to talk about it, I'll listen", he offered and there was almost something pleading in his voice. Like he was hoping for a chance that you'd tell him you loved him. And you knew Diluc wouldn't judge you for the way you felt about him. Nor would he let it affect the friendship you had. "I guess I....", you hesitated and Diluc patiently waited for you to continue. "I've been....feeling some things that weren't there before", you said quietly, your voice was trembling a little. If Diluc was nervous, he sure didn't let any of it show. "What kind of feelings?", he just asked softly, trying to reassure you that there was nothing you couldn't talk about with him.

"I-", you wanted to tell him but there was so much fear inside you as well. Fear of being hurt by his rejection. Of not being able to find as much joy in seeing him as you did now. Fear of having to let him go. "It's okay if you don't want to talk about it, I won't pressure you", he gently took your hand in his and ran his thumb over your fingers, "just know I'm here for you if anything is troubling you."

You nodded and noticed Diluc was even closer now. There was a caring, loving gaze in his eyes but also a bit of sadness. As if something he longed for was so close and yet he just couldn't reach it. Your eyes wandered to his lips again in the hopes he would notice and understand. Diluc hadn't let go of your hand yet. "Y/n?", he asked quietly. "Yes?", you squeezed his hand a little. He paused for what felt like an eternity, unsure whether to take a step he couldn't take back.

"May I kiss you?", he whispered and you gently pulled him closer and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. Diluc kissed back gently and cupped your cheek. He was so careful with you, as if he had waited ages to do this and was scared of losing it all now that he had finally bridged the distance between you. You deepened the kiss and buried your hands in his red hair, Diluc kissing back equally as passionate. You could feel the emotion he poured into the kiss. Like he never wanted to let you go. The fear of being alone again.

When you parted, as much as Diluc hated to admit it, he feared that you weren't as serious about this as he was. He had seen people take things like kissing somebody lightly, something fun they did because they felt like it, not intending to make it last. He didn't know anything about what these things meant to you. Maybe he was wrong about your feelings...

All his doubts were gone when you wrapped your arms tightly around him and hugged him. With your head rested against his chest you closed your eyes and sighed. "This was about time", you whispered and took his hand into your own, pressing a kiss to it. "It sure was", Diluc quietly chuckled and held you close. He kissed your forehead and buried his face in your neck so you wouldn't be able to see his flustered expression. "I'm yours now though", he whispered quietly and kissed you once again. "As am I", you confirmed and brushed a strand of his hair out of his face.

Diluc smiled at you gently. "Did anyone ever tell you that you have the kindest smile in all of Mondstadt?", you said quietly, lost in thought. "Now you did", he replied but you did notice his voice crack slightly, "thank you.....I appreciate it..." He reached for the door handle again and much to his surprise it opened fairly easy now.

Kaeya and Venti sat at the bar counter, giving you two innocent smiles before excusing themselves for the night and leaving the tavern. "Kaeya is a terrible wingman", you sighed and buried your face in your hands. Diluc chuckled. "As much as I hate to admit it, this time the outcome wasn't that bad. I should close up the tavern soon. It's getting late." You nodded as he gestured for you to wait at the counter. Sitting down on one of the stools you watched Diluc slowly bringing his work day to an end.

After the last customers had left he walked up to you and placed his hand upon your own. "Do you want me to take you home? Or would you like to join me at Dawn Winery for tonight? I.... don't really want to let go of you yet", he admitted, wondering if you could see how his cheeks were heating up. You pressed a kiss to his forehead and jumped down from the stool right into Dilucs arms. "I wouldn't mind that", you smiled at him and pulled him close again, looking forward to falling asleep with your head resting on his chest like this. "Diluc?" "What is it?", his voice sounded a little tired but so soft and caring. "I love you", you whispered and Diluc tightened his embrace around you. He kissed you once again. "I do too", he whispered back before your lips met his.
