Tim Drake, Danny’s human identity in this universe, is a boy trapped in an empty manor with absentee parents a low socialization.
Danny Phantom, on the other hand, is Gotham City himself. He could fly, he could interact, he could be the heart of his city like he needs to be. From the lowest of the lows to the highest of the highs, Danny loved the people that were his. Well, most of them. Child molesters often found themselves crossing paths with a vengeful, mostly recovered Robin.
He is the city, he is Gotham. And with his status came more changes, ones he welcomes more readily that the changes that came with his title of Ghost King.
Being a city couldn’t change him as much as it would have, had he gained the title before becoming King. But now, his shadows are dark, curling around his shoulders and curling away what little light he allowed into his city. His skin, having once glittered green with stars and galaxies and black holes, clouds over just a bit. It gives him a misty quality. His hands become sharper, stronger. Gargoyle-like. He wonders what he looked like to Batman, holding his broken son cradled safely to himself. He’s crueler, now, but that’s easily balanced by his years of being a vigilante himself.
He loves these changes. They are loved in a way changing into Dead Danny Phantom and Ghost King Danny Phantom will never be loved. And even though his human features are different in a way he never had to deal with as Danny Fenton, because it was his body that he died in, Danny finds himself enjoying the distinction. And he enjoys when they combine, because in the end, they’re just facets of who he is, now.
Gotham flies through his city, and enjoys it as a whole. A bigger picture.
Tim Drake walks through his city, and enjoys it as an individual. The smaller picture.
Being Gotham reminds him of what he had to protect as a whole. A duty he gladly bears.
Being Tim reminds him of the people he’s meant to help, the stories he doesn’t get as Danny. A connection he gladly encouraged.
Gotham is power. He is duty, he is fierce love. But for the good of the whole.
Tim is kindness. He is choice, he is gentle devotion. But for the good of the individual.
He’s both.
Danny. Danny Phantom.
Phantom glides through the smog.
The ebb and flow of people is his life blood, the thrumming of life and death and fear and hate and love and everything the city is sung through him and Danny sung back with everything he had. Danny is the gargoyles perched high, watching everything. He’s the stone curves of the sewers, sheltering his rats and mutant murderous crocodile man. The is no love comparable to a city’s mutant rats and their sewers. Ancients, he loves his city.
It would be nice, Danny thinks wryly, if they’d love me enough to stop blowing up buildings.
The sting of destruction to his city would hurt much more, had he not also been King. Regardless, every time there’s an explosion or general large scale property damage, he feels a stab of mild pain. Catching sight of his Bats, Danny stays invisible while following them. He wills the shadows to cradle them, to hide them further. He softens the stone, the mortar, the steel, just a hint. Their footsteps, silent and aided by the city himself. The wind steal away the noise of the grappling guns, so when Danny’s favorite vigilante duo (a fascination he shared with original text!Tim) broke into the building, not a single soul aside them are aware of the intrusion.
Batman skulks across the support beams, Robin following with an anticipatory grin. Danny floats, invisible, undetectable, besides them.
“C’mon!” A goon grunts beneath them. Danny tilts his head. A… Dresden Aberthy. Wow. That’s one hell of a name.
“Hurry it up! Boss said Batman’s going to get here soon!” Another goon- Robbert- said, waving around a gun like a moron at the terrified hostages. Danny could tell half of them were part of a tour bus, mostly because the other half were his Gothamites, bored and unfairly used to this kind of thing. The tourists… He’s fond of them, having kept track of their progress through his city. He doesn’t care for intruders on his haunt, but tourists like to appreciate his city and its doubtlessly Sam-approved architecture. Most of them. Rude tourists get pigeon shit on their heads and food stolen by his lovely rats.
He’ll have to make sure none of the bullets hit the tourists. He likes this group, even if he has enough awareness to question their sanity in choosing his city to sightsee. He knows it’s a mess. It’s Danny’s mess though, so whatever.
——
All said and done, Batman whoops ass and Robin rescues the hostages just fine. Danny grins proudly as Robin knees a guy in the crotch and punches a lady’s throat in order to incapacitate them.
After they tied the goons up, and interrogated them for Two Face’s plans- explode a quarter of Gotham to distract the Bats from his diabolical plan to murder half of Gotham’s judges and lawyers that have been going after him and his people- the duo retreats to the rooftop.
“Didja think Gotham saw that?”
Batman goes to reply, but Danny beats him to it, coming back to visibility with a wind touched laugh.
“I did, little Robin.” Danny smiles, fangs and shadows on display as his vigilantes startles and whips around to face him. “You did well.”
Robin- Jason!- gapes at him.
“I see you’ve recovered, little bird.”
“Gotham! Oh. Wow. People always said Gotham was a lady, but you’re a guy!”
“It was a Lady,” Danny confirmed. “It’s complicated, little bird.”
“So, you’re really… you’re really Gotham? The city?”
Danny looks at Robin with the weight of the city behind his gaze.
“I think you know the answer to that. But yes, I am your city.”
“Constantine,” Batman starts. “He said that city spirits only appear in times of grave danger.”
There is deference in his words. Batman is Batman for Gotham, after all. Danny just wishes he could… well, be friendlier with his knights. May this is a good place to start.
Are you in danger? What threats do we need to handle? How can I help? How can I protect? Please, let me help.
His Knight always felt more than he ever says. Danny smiles.
“Was Robin’s wellbeing not in grave danger?” Danny floats closer. “I am your city. You protect me, it is only right that I protect you, no?”
“Thank you for saving me, Gotham!” Robin’s grin is a touch more sincere than usual.
“Of course, Robin. You are loved.”
“Is there… a reason you’ve shown yourself today? Gotham.”
Danny chuckles, understanding the awkwardness that was Batman addressing someone with deference.
“I wanted to tell you that you did well tonight. Those tourists weren’t harmed in the slightest. Well done.” Danny gave Robin a playful but sincere thumbs up.
“They weren’t a match for us!”
“No, they weren’t.” Danny ruffles Robin’s hair, noticing how still he grew at it. “Robin was too fast for them. That maneuver at the end was masterfully executed.”
Batman clears his throat and Danny resists the urge to laugh at him. It would be mean.
“Thank you, for the… praise.”
Fuck it. He’s played well behaved for too long.
“Yes. I read in child rearing books that positive reinforcement is necessary for healthy development. You did well, Batman.”
Despite trolling Batman- and somehow holding a straight (and hopefully wise face)- he meant every word.
Allowing a small smile to slip at Robin’s chortles and Batman’s quiet sputtering, Danny moves on.
“Where is Nightwing, Batman?”
“He’s still on a mission...”
“If it is awkward to refer to me as Gotham, Phantom will do.”
Batman dips his head once. “In space, with the Teen Titans.”
“I see. Please tell him I request his presence,” Danny barely waits for Batman’s oddly acquiescing agreement before summoning a pigeon.
“Follow her,” Danny instructs the duo. “She’ll lead you to the places with explosives. I will guide you through her, to Harvey Dent.”
Danny winces as another explosion rings out.
“Your face is cracking!” Robin exclaimed, worried. He surged forward to stare at the hairline cracks appearing on Danny’s jaw.
“That would be the explosives. Any damage to the city will be shown on me.”
“Well take care of it.” Batman growled, shoulders straightening once more into an imposing symbol.
“Yeah!”
“I know you will. Stay safe.” Danny disappears, spreading his awareness and directing his Birds to the explosives that will go off the fastest.
Batman and Robin share a glance and leaps off the roof, ready to save their city once more.
——
Tim Drake wanders around Crime Alley, and meets a blonde nine year old trying to throw hands at her absentee Riddler knockoff of a dad. He dodges the brick en route to his face and kicks the guy’s knees out.
“You okay?”
The girl blinks. She stares at her dad, groaning on the dirty street of crime alley, and flicks her gaze back up to Tim, who waits casually.
“Yep. I’m Stephanie. We’re gonna be friends now!”
She grins at him, a baby tooth missing, and Danny melts.
“Heck yeah. Tim!” He introduces himself for the first time in a long time.
Maybe with Stephanie around, he’ll finally use the name Tim? Maybe he’ll get used to it, finally!

Tumblr media
“i love you.”
your confession doesn't come over as surprising for aventurine, he anticipated it. just like how the ebb awaits the flood, yearning for it but disappearing as soon as it arrives. missing out on each other for just a split second, as the other party sweeps and slips away from the grasp of the other. nevertheless aventurine is glued to his seat on the rich sofa.
colorful poker chips are splattered around the rich mahogany floor tiles, bottles of vodka and wine, some already with their cork removed and empty, others who haven't even been opened yet. a chandelier adorning the ceiling of the big room, its lightbulbs glowing dimly in the caliginous room, illuminating it.
one of the lamps flickers while the others continue to shine brightly - too brightly aventurine thinks, if he were to watch them any longer he’d feel like melting. the closer he got to you the sun, the deeper he'd fall into the bottomless pit he managed to crawl out of.
the room reeks of alcohol. is the temperature rising? he feels like every time the last number on the digital clock changes the warmer it gets. his blond bangs stick to his forehead and beads of sweat are running down his flushed cheeks - that answers his question.
it’s hot - humid even. he's not sure if he's able to bear the heat in this narrow atmosphere any longer. he tries to blow the sweat away by waving at his face with his hand, trying to cool off his face - a futile attempt. god, what's this a/c even good for, if it can't do it's damn job.
he opens his mouth with the intent of wanting to say that you're lying, that you shouldn't say stuff like that when you're drunk and that you'll regret later. but he doesn't, he refrains from doing so. instead he gulps down the words immediately, letter for letter. they're a bitter pillow to swallow. flowing down his throat like the wavering water running down a stream - intoxicating, similar to the alcoholic liquid you've downed.
the blond looks at you through half lidded eyes. you lift yourself off the ground, he takes notice that you have a hard time doing so, legs slightly trembling as you remove them from the floor tiles. (you've always been a lightweight he thinks)
as you make your way over to him, standing up and wanting to sit yourself next to him on the large black leather sofa. you clumsily bump against one of the almost empty shot glasses that still lies on the floor. tripping over the small glass as your foot comes in contact with it. the glass that still contained some of the red wine you've poured in, not too long ago, tumbles as easily as a domino tile, falling upon the smallest touch. making the flimsy piece immediately meet the ground.
it breaks into a few sharp shards and the remaining alcohol starts seeping out of it, staining your once white socks with crimson colored alcohol. “ah m’sorry!” you mumble as you quickly bend down to gingerly pick up the fragments, placing them in the palm of your hand carefully, so that they won't cut you and leave slits.
aventurine takes another peek at you as you tidy up. your face is flushed, your cheeks tinted in a bright red and you let out incoherent sorrys, blabbering incomplete phrases. he wants to tell you that it's alright. that he feels the same and reciprocates yours feelings, that you don't have to apologize and he'll help you.
but he freezes.
the words that he wants to tell you, the ones he's been longing to say don't leave his mouth. neither does he move. instead he coughs, continuing to watch you while you clean up. a tissue has found its way into your right hand, helping you soak up the alcohol. (its his hand that should be intertwined with yours, not the tissue)
his throat hurts.
(he's not in the right mindspace to acknowledge if it's because of you - the unsaid words that he didn't reveal to you yet or because of the alcohol.)
it's dry and lacks any kind of refreshing liquid that'd quench the drought that occurs in his throat. he contemplates, thinking about the choices he has. swallowing down his own spit isn't worth it, it makes his throat burn even more.
he comes to the decision to pour himself another glass of alcohol. (debatably his worst decision until now.)
twirling the almost translucent liquid in his glass, before fully gulping it down in one go. a bit of the alcohol escapes the depths of his mouth, running down his chin and messily staining his porcelain-like skin.
he doesn't like the bitter taste, he can't seem to befriend himself with it. (neither can he befriend him with himself) although it's not the worst, he's just not able to find a reason to like it. after all, after a single sip it starts to sting as it enters his mouth.
the scent isn't great either, it smells strong, too strong for his liking, a scent that reeks of cleaning detergent and not to mention, it prickles on his tongue and burns as it slides down his throat when it makes its way into his blood. but there's one thing aventurine can't deny: it's efficiency.
it fulfills its purpose well making him lightheaded and dizzy, to the point of forgetting everything.
all sounds are drowned out. even the lame pop songs playlist you turned on because you insisted that “it'll set the right mood” is barely audible for him now. his ears hurt hellish, he wants to put his hands over his ears to escape the white noise. the sound that plays in his ears is similar to the one of when an airplane starts boarding - an unpleasant noise.
the only sound that remains for aventurine’s slightly drunk state is your voice. it echoes through his ears. your drunk confession playing over and over in his mind like a broken record, anticipating the day it'll be fixed, so the misery it is in ceases.
his sloppy and sluggish movements - the way his hands tremble as he pours himself another glass, the nervousness that forms inside his body and the blush that spreads as quickly as a wildfire on his cheeks - they're tormenting him, and he blames none other than the alcohol for it.
“a drunk mind speaks a sober heart, drunk words are sober thoughts, when you're drunk you reveal your true desires” his ass. the both of you are just friends. friends that are acquainted through work, nothing more, nothing less. aventurine couldn't bear to lose his only friend, after all he's already lost everything.
(anything he'd never want to lose will eventually be lost. it is as if fate had decided that everything that is worth wanting, everything that he wants to have and keep, will be lost the moment he gets his fingers on it. to aventurine there’s nothing worth pursuing at the cost of prolonging a life that is full of anguish.)
his father whom he never got to meet, his mother and sister whom he was forced to leave behind and kakavasha, his younger self. all will be lost - everything was lost. if he wasn't careful now, one slip up on the thin ice or feet accidentally trampling over the floor full of eggshells, he'd not only lose himself in the process, but you too. his one and only friend.
crossing this line he set for himself, as he drew it along the earthy ground with his calloused fingers, trembling as they traced over the mud.
walking past the border that was created to keep everything and everyone distant from him, as he stood on the other side turning his back from the world, walking away and waving, to bid his goodbye from them.
the wall he built around him to shield him from the world, protecting everyone from the ugly thing that was kept inside , protecting himself from the people that only want to torment him.
forgetting all of these things, leaving them behind for you would mean showing you who he really was. a frail human being that hides himself behind a mask. the theater curtains revealing the person who played the role of the man who had called himself aventurine for the past years. placing him in the spotlight and giving the audience a show they'll never forget, like the fool he is.
aventurine doesn't think that he is loveable, that he's undeserving of love - your love.
Tumblr media
you think that aventurine deserves all the love in the world. providing him with said love, embracing him and showing him how pure love can be.
the blond caught your eye right away. he was charming, funny and handsome. aventurine turned into your little work crush, your motivation to convince yourself just to see him.
the road was rocky and full of obstacles, set up by none other than aventurine. it gave you a better perception of who he really was and it intrigued you even more. why does he hide himself away from the world? why does he convince himself to not get anyone close to him even though he longs for the touch of another person? who is aventurine, really?
you can't answer any of these questions and neither are you certain if aventurine really can but that doesn't stop you. you continue to climb up all the way to know who he is, who the person you fell in love with really is.
love, is weird isn't it? it comes in all different shapes and forms.
if someone were to ask you why you like him, you wouldn't know how to answer, because neither do you know.
but nevertheless you still like him. why? how come you like someone that you don't even know, someone that is foreign to you, almost like a stranger. even though the both of you label yourself as “friends.”
you're not sure what the color is that infuses his irises, he keeps them hidden beneath his glasses. despite that, you long to stare into his eyes and let all the plain and dull parts of your life get painted in the same colors of his hues. a color that brings you comfort and cures your sorrow. it's the hues that you want to stare at as you tuck a golden strand of hair behind his ear, in return he grants you a small but genuine smile.
a smile that you want to see more often, one that you want to keep for yourself.
as for his scent, every person has their own unique and special scent. you plead to the gods above that he’ll let you bury your head into the crook of his neck and absorb his smell so it becomes the only scent that lingers around your nose.
there are so many more things that you want to know about him but you're unaware of. one might say that you're odd for liking - no, loving someone that you barely know.
a stranger, a foreign person whom you know little about to almost nothing about, is the person that you love. absurd isn't it? but love is weird, love can be pure and ridiculous, but it can also be painful and heart wrenching. love is a feeling that not only brings joy to oneself but also causes pain. but it's a feeling that you never want to get rid of - not until you introduced aventurine to it. showing him what love has to offer and has in store.
in the iridescent light aventurine remains to look as ethereal as ever. a scent of vodka lingers around aventurines figure, the smell is strong, but you couldn't care less. his hair is disheveled but nevertheless continues to shine in the dazzling light. he lets out a tiring yawn and you couldn't imagine aventurine any more beautiful than in this moment.
vulnerable and for your eyes only. making it unable for you to tear your gaze away from the sight before you.
he's like a shooting star, if you don't continue to watch and follow it and blink, even if it's just for a single moment - it's all over and you'll never see it again.
“stop looking at me like that.” aventurine mumbles quietly, almost whispering. upon hearing that, you make your way over to him, glass shards long forgotten as you place them on the small coffee table in front of the sofa.
your arms reach out to aventurine, clutching your hands on his shoulders. your grip is sluggish but you don't falter and continue to hold him. “like what?” your lips are slightly parted and your gaze is drowsy as you counter aventurine's question with a question of your own.
“like that.” he placed the hand that just rested on his thigh, on your cheek, slightly caressing it. “you're just gonna hurt the both of us if you keep this up any longer.” he's not sure where the boldness came from, he blames it on the alcohol once again; it finally seemed to kick in.
“‘m not lying” you hiccup. tomorrow i’ll tell you how much i love you, no matter if it's once” a cough exits your throat “or a hundred times.” the words that leave your mouth are slurred, they're incoherent and muddled up. your grip on his shoulder weakens, hands slipping off and head falling against his chest.
..did you seriously just black out?
aventurine can only sigh at that. a small smile finds its way onto his face. he snakes his arms around you waist, snuggling his face into the crook of your neck and hugging you with the remaining power he had left before falling asleep. guess there'll be a lot to unpack tomorrow but for now he allows himself to indulge in this shared moment between the two of you.

law + gossip
masterlist || commissions

Tumblr media
having been with law for a very long time, it was only natural that you would keep secrets for him; some were serious, and others... not so much, with the silliest of these secrets being that law loves to gossip with you.
he justifies it as a side effect of being the captain—he simply wants to be informed on everything that goes on aboard the polar tang. and his point was defensible, to an extent, until one considers the fact that law knows nearly every single detail about bepo's tiny spats with hakugan as they drive the submarine together, penguin's unfortunate love life, and he could write out a comprehensive timeline of shachi and ikkaku's tumultuous, years long on-again-off-again relationship with his eyes closed. maybe he enjoys the tiny tingles of schadenfreude coursing beneath his skin, or is simply curious about what his friends do when they think no one else is looking, but whatever the reason, it's relaxing to talk his ear off—and you've got an interesting piece of information for him today.
"you busy?" you ask law, as you step into his office, a small smirk on your face as you close his door. he's poring over some messily drawn maps of the region that bepo has cobbled together, but he shakes his head, mumbles out a no, and waves you over, craving some soothing company while he works. flopping down into the armchair across from his desk, you can barely contain your giggles, eager to relay the details of shachi and ikkaku's argument from this afternoon.
"shachi's in trouble again." you inform him. law's head snaps up from the map on his desk to meet your gaze, his full attention resting in the palm of your hand.
"things were going too well. what did he do this time?" law asks, leaning forward and resting his chin on top of his folded hands. a few chuckles escape his lips as you tell him, in colorful detail, how ikkaku had overheard shachi and penguin making some distasteful comments about wanting to catch a glimpse of the women of amazon lily—their argument had started over her accusing him of not respecting women, but snowballed into her criticizing his tendency to let his eyes wander.
"what'd he say to that?" law pries curiously, holding his opinion until you finish relaying the entire story as per usual, though the smirk that creeps across your face tells him that you're about to get to the good part.
"he said—and i quote—'why does it matter who i look at? you're not my girlfriend.'" you say, drinking up every bit of law's incredulous reaction with amusement spread across your face.
law pulls in air through his teeth as he lets out a disappointed sigh; the two of you had been rooting for them to finally get together for real this time, and it had seemed like things were so close to coming to fruition. "tch, he's such an idiot. so we're back to square one then?" he asks, a smidge dismayed.
"for now. you know how it is with them." you reply indifferently; the status of their relationship changed like the phases of the moon, and you knew that the push and pull of the tide would draw them back together at some point.
and, stable as the warm, bright sun rising in the east, you and law would sit back, content to watch them ebb and flow.

Child of the storm
Note: SPOILERS, if you have not read the books. If you know the ending of the lightning thief then this will be fine but if you haven't or don’t want to be spoiled for the ending of the show do not read this. ( I’m looking out for you pookie <3)
pairing: luke castellan x Poseidon Fem!reader
warnings: Arguing, I want you but I can’t have you trope, Angst, kissing
Tumblr media
"Hello?" Her voice came through the phone, accompanied by the crackling of static in Luke's ear.
"It's Luke," he responded, pressing his fingers into his tired eyes. Silence met his ears. "The camp is falling apart," he admitted, frustration evident in his tone. "The cabins are at each other's throats, and I'm lost on what to do."
"I know," she sighed on the other end. "Luke, I'm already being dragged into this mess by my dad. He says my brother is on a quest for the master bolt," she explained, a hint of exasperation in her voice. "I didn't even know I had a brother until this morning," she added with a hiss.
Luke's stomach twisted with anger “why are you calling me” The words escaped through her gritted teeth. After a prolonged silence on the line, she finally took a breath.
"Luke, I've been covering for you for months," she admitted, frustration evident in her voice. "And now, my brother—someone I didn't even know existed—seems to be entangled in your idiocy." There was a pause, and Luke remained silent.
"They think he stole it," she seethed, frustration boiling over. "And we both know that's far from the truth." After taking a breath, Luke listened intently. Over ten months had passed since their last conversation or encounter, and he found solace in just hearing her voice. He wanted to savour every syllable that left her mouth.
"Luke," she sighed, a sense of resignation in her tone. "I can't help you. I can't keep doing this. I can't cover for you anymore. You're on your own." As she moved to end the call, panic filled Luke's voice.
"Wait! Please, just listen to me," he pleaded desperately. "NO, Luke, you listen to me. You've gone too far. I was with you from the beginning, but stealing the master bolt... Luke, I've changed, and you haven't," she declared firmly, leaving a pause.
"Meet me at the beach in Jersey," he almost whispered, his voice carrying a sense of urgency and vulnerability. "What?" she questioned, confusion in her tone. "Just do it," he snapped, frustration seeping into his tone. "Please," he added, the desperation in his voice seeping into her ears. She took a moment to consider, the static in the phone creating a deafening backdrop to their strained conversation. "Fine," she agreed, the decision made after a brief pause, and then the line went silent on Luke's end.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Luke stands on the beach, the gritty sand slipping between his toes as he clutches his shoes in his hands. His gaze remains fixed on the expansive canvas of the ocean, its vastness both humbling and daunting. In the early evening, the ocean undergoes a captivating transformation, evolving into a symphony of rhythmic undulations.
As Luke shifts nervously on his feet, the subdued hues of the setting sun cast a gentle glow upon the water, bestowing an ethereal quality to the scene. The waves, reminiscent of graceful dancers, curl over in a serene ballet, each motion leaving a transient mark on the water's surface.
However, an undercurrent of change is visible. The ocean begins to deepen, the light blues of the day contorting into darker shades of black and navy. The waves, once a tranquil ballet, now adopt a more assertive stance, punching the shore with newfound vigour. Luke feels the shift in the air, the atmosphere charged with an unspoken intensity.
He stands there, caught between the ebb and flow of the changing tides, feeling the cool breeze play with his hair. The salt from the sea hangs in the air, sticking to his lashes. Above him, grey clouds gather, a subtle harbinger of the impending change. As if responding to some unseen force, the sea, with a sudden abruptness, flattens.
Amidst the quiet tension, her arrival becomes a beacon of contrasting serenity. Her hair, the first thing that catches his eye, emerges from the blues—sleek and shining like the ocean itself, capturing the remaining light. With each step, her shoulders appear, water cascading from the light armour she wears. Long strands of her hair, wrapped around her index finger, release droplets as she drains the water from it. The white foam from the now-subdued waves pools at her boots as she makes her way up the beach.
Once her foot leaves the water, the ocean, as if resentful of her departure, reverts to its rageful intent, thrashing and spitting with renewed fervour. Undeterred, she walks up the beach, her head bowed slightly, and her hair moved to sit over her shoulder. Luke's eyes follow her, never leaving her figure as she almost struts up to him.
“Look at you," he states, his gaze captivated by the armour that exudes the timeless elegance of Ancient Greek craftsmanship. Her breastplate, a gleaming testament forged from bronze, hosts intricate engravings portraying swirling waves and mythical sea creatures. The craftsmanship, exquisite in every detail, captures the fluidity of the ocean's dance with unparalleled artistry. Adorning her shoulders, the epaulettes, fashioned to resemble the majestic fins of a sea serpent, add an ethereal touch to the ensemble.
Her eyes, a reflection of the depths of her experiences, remain locked onto his. She's not the same 18-year-old girl who left camp a year ago, harbouring resentment toward the gods and grappling with self-doubt. She's transformed into a soldier for her father, and the weight of her newfound strength and purpose makes him feel almost small in her presence.
"You are really your fathers daughter now, aren't you” he declares, his tone carrying a mixture of disbelief and frustration. She meets his gaze with unwavering intensity "I've changed, Luke," she retorts, her voice firm. "I'm not that naive girl who once questioned everything. I've seen the power, the responsibility that comes with being a part of this world." He scoffs, a bitter edge to his words, crossing his arms over his chest. "Responsibility? Do you hear yourself, More like blind servitude.You've become a pawn in their games, a soldier for a cause that doesn't care about you.”
Her eyes narrow, a spark of defiance igniting within her. "You're still clinging to that rebellious dream of a new age," she counters. “Do you hear yourself?” she mocks. His frustration mounts, and he takes a step closer, the distance between them narrowing. "What happened to forging our own path?” he states with a slight hiss, his eyes looking down onto her examining her face with his brown eyes “free from their whims?” he adds in an almost whisper, pushing back a strand of dark hair behind her ear, she moves her face away from his hand “You've abandoned that for a role that has you dancing to their tune." Luke continues, She squares her shoulders, a steely resolve in her demeanour. "I've embraced my heritage, Luke. I've found purpose and strength in it. Maybe it's time you stop fighting against it and see that." She steps back from him, and he goes to move after her, almost magnetised to her presents, but her eyes worn him.
"If you wanted to meet me here just to argue, then I'm going because I can't—" Her words are cut short, interrupted by Luke as he reaches out, gently catching her hand. "Because I can't bear the thought of losing you again," he admits, his voice carrying a blend of vulnerability and longing.
His gaze searches hers for a trace of understanding. "We used to dream of a life together," he continues, his thumb gently tracing circles on the back of her hand. "I miss that, miss us. And if this is the only way I get to be near you, even if it means arguing, then I'll take it. Because not having you in my life feels like an endless storm." he admits his eyes burning through hers.
She looks back at him, a realisation dawning in her eyes as if she's just understood the depth of what love truly means. In that moment, she sees everything reflected in his gaze — the longing, the vulnerability, the unwavering devotion. His hands holding hers speak volumes, and the words that escape his lips carry the weight of a love that has weathered storms.
To him, she is everything — a constellation in the vast expanse of his universe. She can feel it in the warmth of his hands, hear it in the soft timbre of his voice. He has been the constant, the anchor in the tumultuous sea of their shared existence.
Yet, as she stands there, she recognizes that love is a complex tapestry, woven with threads of both joy and pain. He was her sun, a source of warmth and brightness, but the sea called to her, and she found herself in its depths and storms. The day she turned eighteen and was claimed by her father, the sea embraced her, and she felt a sense of belonging she had long yearned for. She learned to shine not only for him but also for herself, finding her identity in the ebb and flow of the waves.
"I can lose everything but not you… oh gods, not you," he almost says to himself, his words carried away by the wind and the sound of the waves. Her ears barely catch the sentiment, but her body reacts before her brain can intervene. Her arm slings around his neck, and her lips crash into his. In that moment, the world around them fades into the background.
His hands find her waist, pulling her closer as they share a desperate and breathless kiss. It's a collision of emotions, a manifestation of the tangled feelings that have lingered between them. When they finally break apart, he places his forehead against hers and closes his eyes.
"You fix this mess... with the master bolt, with my father and Zeus… and then maybe we could have this," she almost whispers, her voice a tender murmur against the backdrop of the ocean's symphony. "We could have us."

The waves, like gentle giants, rolled towards the shore, their white foamy crests crashing against the rocks with a resounding roar. The sound echoed in your ears. With each surge, the water created intricate patterns, as if painting an ever-changing masterpiece upon the canvas of the beach.
Some crashed against the rocks with a powerful force, while others gently caressed the sand, their touch as gentle as a lover's whisper.
Standing there, your feet were gently lapped by the waves near the shore, your eyes fixated on the vast expanse of the sea, you felt an inexplicable pull, as if there was a profound bond between you and the ocean.
Yet, you couldn't quite comprehend why.
Lost in contemplation, you imagined how the cool waters of the sea would embrace you, enveloping you in their refreshing embrace. It was in these moments that you found solace and tranquility in the presence of nature.
The ebb and flow of the waves became a soothing rhythm that seemed to wash away any worries or troubles that burdened your mind.
Yet, amidst the serenity, there was a sense of familiarity, as if there were fragments of a forgotten memory lurking within your subconscious. Every time you found yourself by the sea or on a sandy beach, a whisper of a memory danced at the edge of your thoughts, just out of reach.
Lost in your thoughts, distant calls of your name went unheard as you drifted into a daze, completely captivated by the sea, you didn't noticed the water has gone up to your knees level. It was only when a familiar hand gripped your wrist, pulling you back from the water, that you snapped out of your daze.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" His voice rang out, a mix of concern and annoyance. "You were about to walk straight into the deep sea! Do you have any idea how dangerous that could have been?" he exclaimed, gently pulling you back to the safety of the shore.
Startled, your gaze locked with his eyes, a blend of deep purple with delicate speckles of pink. In that moment, you found yourself drowning in the vastness of his gaze, unable to tear your eyes away.
His eyes held a mix of emotions, like a tumultuous sea that you couldn't quite decipher. You couldn't help but wonder if your encounter was more than just a coincidence, if there was a greater significance to the intertwining of your paths. The depths of his gaze seemed to hold the answers, yet they also posed more questions, leaving you both intrigued and captivated.
There was something undeniable about the connection you shared, a magnetic pull that transcended mere concern. In that moment, you realized that his eyes held more than just worry for your safety—they held a glimpse of a deeper connection, an unspoken understanding that seemed to bind you together.
The depth of his concern in the eyes are as clear as day, it momentarily puts you lost at words.
The situation slowly sank in, you realized that you had been so absorbed in your thoughts that you had unconsciously ventured into dangerous waters. The level of danger had escalated beyond what you initially thought, as the water had gradually risen without your awareness.
You blinked, your voice betraying a tinge of guilt as you stammered out. "I… I didn't even realize," you admitted, your words laden with a sense of remorse,. "The ocean… it just pulls me in. I can't explain it." Your eyes darted around, avoiding contact with Rafayel.
He sees the way you looked at the sea, sensing that you were searching for something, perhaps a connection or understanding.
In that fleeting moment, a glimmer of hope momentarily danced across Rafayel's face, as if he believed you had finally recollected something significant to him.
…But as he searched your eyes, that tiny glimmer faded, replaced by a mix of disappointment and frustration.
A deep sigh escaped Rafayel's lips, his eyes rolling with visible exasperation. "Oh, please," he scoffed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "As if the ocean has some deep, personal connection to you," he muttered dismissively.
The atmosphere grew heavy with an unspoken tension, as Rafayel's words hung in the air. It was clear that he felt let down, hoping for a shared understanding that seemed to elude him once again.
Rafayel's frustration grew evident as he let out an exasperated huff, pushing away his bangs with an irritated sweep of his hand. "Look, we've got enough problems trying to win this damn classroom competition. We don't need you drowning yourself in the process." His head shook slightly, a clear expression of annoyance etched upon his face.
You felt a pang of regret wash over you, seeing the frustration etched on Rafayel's face. "Thanks for being worried, I guess," you mumbled, your tone tinged with a touch of bitterness. He could've said it nicely at the very least, you thought.
Feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over you for nearly getting yourself drowned, you quickly shifted your gaze to the expanse of the ocean stretched out before you.
The colors of the sea danced before your eyes, shifting seamlessly from the vibrant hues of turquoise to the deeper shades of indigo, as if an artist's brush had painted a masterpiece on the water's surface.
You couldn't help but wonder if there was a hidden world beneath the surface. Little did you know, you had been conversing with one of those hidden beings all along.
You noticed Rafayel's hands waving in front of your face, interrupting your oceanic reverie.
"I've heard the locals said that there is a mythical creature who roamed around this water, can you guess what it is?" His voice took on an eerie cadence. His head tilted slightly, as if he was assessing your reaction.
"Legend has it that those who make a pact with this sea creature are granted a special favor," he weave the tale as his gaze were penetrating your skin. "However," he paused, his words dripping with anticipation. "If one were to forget or break their oath, the consequences would be nothing short of catastrophic."
Drawing near, he leaned in, his voice a mere whisper in your ear. "They would face a fate far more harrowing than their most dreadful nightmares could ever conjure." His breath made your skin crawl, leaving behind a trail of goosebumps in its wake.
The tale he spoke of leave you with an eerie sense that there was more to this tale than met the eye. It was as if the threads of the story resonated with a deeper part of your being, stirring emotions and images that had long been dormant.
Yet, you shook off the discomfort, determined not to let Rafayel's words unravel your sense of reality, even as they lingered in your mind, leaving behind a lingering sense of unease.
With a light-hearted push, you nudge him away with your elbow, mustering a witty retort to maintain the casual banter. "Nice try, but I'm not one to fall victim to the legends of mermaids."
Unfazed, Rafayel continues to weave his tale, his voice dripping with a seductive charm. "How so? Don't their enchanting melodies and mysterious allure at least pique your curiosity?"
The weight of his words settled upon you, causing a shiver to ripple through your body. Yet, you maintain your composure, "Well, Rafayel," you taunt, "if mermaids are truly as captivating as you claim, perhaps I should take my chances. Who knows? Maybe I'll be the one to befriend a mermaid."
Oh, you already did and it was more than that.
Your soul remembers him, resonating with a familiarity that defies logic, while your conscious mind grapples with the mystery of who he truly is and where your paths have crossed before.
It's like your souls hold a hidden story, a shared history that teases the edges of your awareness, just beyond your grasp. The unspoken bond that lingers between you cannot be denied, as if your paths are intricately woven together, waiting to be unraveled.
In his presence, you find yourself both anchored and adrift, caught between the intangible and the tangible. The ties that bind you are not of this physical realm, but of a deeper dimension where emotions and memories intertwine like the ebb and flow of the tide.
There is a profound bond between you that goes beyond mere attraction, as if you have shared lifetimes together before.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue over the water, you and Rafayel became entranced by the moment, surrendering to the breathtaking beauty of the sea.
The scenery sparked a creative fire within you, the gentle dance of the waves mirrored the rhythm of your thoughts, as if the ocean had bestowed upon you the ideal theme for the upcoming classroom decoration competition. It was as if the universe had handed you a vibrant palette, ready to bring your ideas to life.
A smile tugged at the corners of your lips as an idea began to take shape in your mind. "Hey, what if we choose the ocean as our theme? We could create an underwater wonderland, wouldn't that be cool?" you suggested, your voice filled with enthusiasm.
Rafayel eyes widened with surprise, he took a moment to consider the suggestion. "That's actually not bad," he shrugged, his tone casual yet intrigued. "We could use blue and turquoise hues to mimic the ocean's colors, and hang paper jellyfish and other sea creatures from the ceiling. It'll be like stepping into an enchanting underwater realm."
The two of you continued to brainstorm all the way home, ideas flowing like a current, as you imagined transforming your classroom into a captivating oceanic paradise.
As the sounds of crashing waves slowly faded into the distance, replaced by the comforting rhythm of your footsteps, a familiar banter and laughter filled the air. The easy camaraderie between you and Rafayel created a warm and comfortable atmosphere, where the worries of the day seemed to melt away.
Minutes passed by, as if time had lost its grip on the endless conversations and moments of solace shared with Rafayel. He was like a soothing balm for your weary soul, a safe haven where your restless mind could find peace. His presence was like a sanctuary, where the weight of your worries seemed to dissipate into thin air.
Regrettably, the front gate of your house loomed before you, signaling the end of this cherished connection. With a warm smile, you waved goodbye to Rafayel, a bittersweet farewell that left an ache in your heart. "We'll talk more later, see you at school tomorrow!" you called out, hoping to preserve the thread of conversation that had woven its way into your shared journey.
He reciprocated with a smile and a wave, his eyes following you until you disappeared behind the closed door. As the facade he wore crumbled, a torrent of emotions flooded Rafayel's mind the moment you were safely inside. Frustration tightened its grip, as he struggled to understand how something so vital between the two of you could slip from your memory.
However, a twisted sense of satisfaction settled within him, as he relished in the knowledge of your home, a piece of your personal life that he now possessed, fueling a dangerous determination to claim you as his own.
This was never your home, and it would never be, for he had vowed to create a sanctuary where only he could offer you peace and happiness you deserved.
He knew that he had to do more, to make you realize the depth of his feelings. With unwavering resolve, Rafayel promised himself that he would build a world for you, free from any disturbances or distractions.
No one else would have access to this sacred space; it would be an intimate domain that existed solely for him and you.
"Wait for me, my love. I'll show you how much I adore you."

Lil sweet and angsty. I guess that's bittersweet.
WC: ~780
Warnings: NSFW, mdni, buggy x GN!reader, insertion sex.
buggy woke up first. he usually does on days like this.
you didn’t wake up to an empty bed or a cold spot. your bed was sized just for you, so it was either full with just you, or overflowing when the pirate visited. what you woke up to was normalcy that felt uncomfortable. having spent the entire weekend sharing your sheets with the visiting captain, it felt wrong to have the bed all to yourself.
you found buggy in his usual spot. he sat on the window bench, overlooking the harbor. loosely draped in your purple robe, he watched the colors of his ship change in the misty sunrise.
hearing your soft footsteps, buggy swung one leg off the bench. you nestled in the space between his legs and leaned back. you could feel his heat through the thin fabric of the shirt you tossed on. it was his shirt. sometimes you’d wish he would leave one behind.
buggy pressed his cheek against your temple and started humming softly. a nameless sea shanty, one of the countless odes to the sea he knew. the song poured into your head and heart, reverberating through your chest and his. the tune was nearly familiar, but just out of your grasp. like buggy.
the harbor was still asleep, but it wouldn’t stay like that for long. you wouldn’t stay like this for long.
“it’s almost time again, huh?” you speak softly, trying to hide the words under his humming.
he nods against your head. “mm-hmm,” is how his song ends.
you twist your head and body, wanting a taste of the ocean he sings about. a taste you find on his lips and tongue.
to buggy, you taste real and lasting. you fill his mouth. your breath fills his lungs. he place a hand on your cheek, holding you like a goblet brimming with an elixir that he wants all for himself.
and you always give yourself to him. no matter how many times the sun rises while the pirate is on his adventures - when he’s here, you belong to him.
“please,” you whisper against his lips. the start of questions neither of you will ask. instead, you both pretend it’s another question, one that can be solved with a temporary solution.
buggy breaks the kiss. and then he kisses you again. he tries to stop, but can’t. not as long as you’re in his arms.
with the next separation, you pull away.
this time, buggy asks the question. “please…”
you turn to straddle the pirate. he shifts below you and guides your hips until you slot together. like it’s meant to be. the fullness reaches your chest and leaves you breathless. you sway with the throbbing movement that ebbs and flows inside.
buggy presses his forehead against yours and rolls his hips in time with your breathing. he orchestrates your sounds, building a slow cresendo that fills his ears. it’s beautiful and he wants to take from the source.
your lips are captured in a kiss that is rough and gentle. bruising and soothing. he bites your bottom lip and caresses it with his tongue. he’s greedy, pressing into you until he’s nearly pushing you away. a passion you love, but also fear.
you feed into the fire. placing hands on shoulders that the robe fell off of long ago, you grind against the pirate. you ride the wild waves of his ocean as he pours his own moans into you.
his hands slip up the loose shirt you wear, seeking more of your warmth and heat. buggy rests his head on your shoulder and clings to you. whether he wants to keep you in place, or to tether himself to you is unknown. he just needs to hold you as he unravels.
you feel him shudder as his movements grow erratic.
“m’gonna- gonna,” he stutters, unable to finish the words before he’s overcome.
“fuuuuuck,” he hisses, pressing his face against your neck. buggy holds you tighter, pushing you down on his pulsing hardness until he’s dripping out of you.
“n-need you to come. please…”
such a simple request, yet it’s your undoing. you shake under those words, clenching and holding them tight until you tremble and see stars.
your bliss is what buggy asked for, but there is another question that will remain ignored. in a few hours, the captain will sail away with his ship, and you will lay alone in your small bed.
buggy won’t ask you to come with him and you won’t ask him to stay. that’s just the way it is.
but the next time he’s here, it’s for you. it always is.

Theres something different about receiving a handwritten letter......
Tumblr media
✧˚ · .Spring has sprung as the NCR students walk through out the NRC campus. With spring here and the flowers blooming, and most important of all valentines day right around the corner. NRC launches lockers for students to anonymously give someone something for valentines day. Surprise, Surprise the prefects locker was the one with the most letters. Lets see what some of them wrote, will u find out who wrote what?....
From: A crimson flower...
My Crimson Rose,
In this whimsical realm where time dances to its own curious tune, I find myself enchanted by the notion of Happy Unbirthdays and the delightful chaos that ensues in the shadow of the Queen of Hearts. It is within this peculiar Wonderland that our paths have crossed, and my heart, typically bound by the rigidity of rules, has succumbed to the joyful mayhem of your presence.
Oh, how the tea parties unfold in blissful disorder, each cup raised in celebration of the nonsensical day that is every day but one! The Queen of Hearts, with her regal decree and whimsical demands, presides over these gatherings where laughter echoes like the most harmonious of melodies. In the mirthful company of jesters and creatures, our souls intertwine, and the rules of reality bow to the capricious whims of Wonderland.
As the Queen commands the cards to paint the roses red, I am reminded that the essence of love in this fantastical realm is as unpredictable as the ever-changing hues of Wonderland's flora. In the intricate dance of courtly affections, I find myself waltzing with you, my partner in this splendid, topsy-turvy masquerade.
From: An Inky Dealer...
And so, my heart, once bound by the rigid laws of reason, now surrenders to the whimsy of Wonderland and the joyful rebellion that accompanies it. With every unbirthday tea party we share, I am reminded that true happiness lies not in conformity but in the enchanting chaos of love.
To my Siren,
As the currents of fate weave through the whimsical waters of Twisted Wonderland, I find myself drawn to you like a siren's call echoing in the depths of the Monstro Lounge. In this ocean of magical mayhem, your presence is a beacon that lights up the darkest corners of my heart.
The glittering allure of Ursula's domain mirrors the shimmering depths of the feelings that swirl within me. Much like the ebb and flow of the tides, our connection resonates with a rhythm that transcends the ordinary cadence of everyday life.
In the enchanting embrace of the Monstro Lounge, where secrets are exchanged like treasures and laughter dances upon the waves of conversation, I am captivated by the spell you cast upon my existence. Ursula's wisdom echoes in the whispers of our shared moments, and I am reminded that love, much like the sea, holds depths yet to be explored.
So, let this letter be a testament to the enchantment you bring into my life, a tale woven with threads of magic and mystery. In the embrace of Ursula's sanctuary and the symphony of the Monstro Lounge, my heart finds its rhythm in harmony with yours.
From: The oasis in the hot sands...
Dear, sunshine
With the boundless energy of a desert breeze, my affection for you grows, and the tapestry of our shared moments becomes a mosaic of joy and laughter. Your smile, a treasure more precious than any gem in the sands, illuminates my world with unparalleled warmth.
In the vibrant oasis of love, I find solace in the melody of our shared laughter and the dance of our dreams under the twinkling stars. With each passing day, my heart beats in rhythm with the magic you bring into my life.
So, let this be a simple testament to the love that blossoms like a desert rose within my chest—a love as boundless as the endless sands of Twisted Wonderland.
From: A loyal knight
My dearest Everglow,
Amidst the tapestry of my own existence, I pledge my loyalty to you with the same unwavering devotion that I offer to the illustrious Malleus Draconia. To serve him is an honor, and in his guidance, my loyalty becomes an intricate dance—a choreography of duty and affection.
In this realm where loyalty is both a shield and a key, my heart beats with the rhythm of a promise made not just in service but in love. Your understanding gaze, a refuge in the labyrinth of obligations, is a testament to the deep connection that transcends the boundaries of duty.
So, let this be a tender acknowledgment of the magic that binds me to both my fae heritage and the loyalty I extend to you and Malleus—a love letter written with the ink of allegiance and sealed with the embrace of my heart.
Writers note: Hello everyone! Were u able to find out who's who? Let me know if u want more writings like this!

Hello lock <3
Today I bring you Yan Scaramouche with darling who keeps poking at the electro mark on his back, right above his shoulder blades. Poking it with a finger is bound to get you zapped a little painfully with a grumble from scara of how insolent you're acting with a divine being. However, a kiss on the mark somehow doesn't do anything. The zap was on purpose, wasn't it?
Do with this information what you will. I have converted to a Scara enjoyer
hi zuri!!!
SCARACHU AGENDA YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
him and his little zaps. he's probably scrubbed the skin of his nape raw, hoping that it might erase the proof of the divinity fate has doomed him incapable of achieving, only this desperation never worked. it's a sensitive spot and subject. he snickers at you demanding privacy if you wish to get changed when he's around, yet for the longest time, slinks off elsewhere when he has to. don't mistaken this as the behavior of a prude. scara wants you to exalt him, to consider him a being worthy of your praise and infinite adoration, so the mark threatens this esteemed image. bitterly, he'll liken it to the trademark details blacksmiths etch onto the weapons they forge, as proof that they were the ones who created it.
this due diligence cannot last forever. eventually, you happen to spot the electro mark, much to his chagrin. what a grating pest you are, buzzing around with your questions as he tries to wave you off. you've always been irritatingly persistent about how he can channel elemental energy without a vision — he'd pridefully remark that it's proof he's of superior quality compared to mortals, who must have power bestowed upon them — but this never sat right with you. who is your oppressor, exactly? or, to be more specific, what is he? he freely gloats that he's (essentially) immortal, but from what you can tell, he isn't a youkai, adepti, or any other mystical being that should have such a long lifespan. it's very perplexing. while he normally enjoys conversing with you, he closes up like a clam whenever you approach this taboo topic.
eventually, you will get to learn the full extent of his story. for the time being, your pointer finger traces the lilac lines, following the ebb and flow. should you linger for too long, then expect a warning buzz. it's reminiscent of getting shocked by metal from static electricity. enough to ward you off, by his estimation. except it doesn't, because the one he's chosen to give his adoration to is nothing if not tenacious. every synthetic fiber in his body goes taut when impishness leads you to brush your lips against the nape of his neck. his voice raises in pitch as he demands to know what you're doing, acting brazen like you're the one in charge here and not him.
(he says that as if you both don't know that he's under your thrall, beneath all the posturing).

"You and only you, can make the rest of my life peaceful," ~ Madeleine Smith
~~~~~~~~
A gentle ebb and flow threaded through the leaves and water. The small waves in the river went forward, the green strands of the grass went back, and so in tune they were when the other changed direction. Forward and back and back and forward. They paid no mind to the birds - those of which flitted from one nest to the other. Nor did the rabbits or deer, grazing and passing through, interrupt their little dance. Forward and back and back and forward. The fish swam with no place in mind and the wolves were silent in their daily musings - tasked to do with whatever it was that wolves were tasked to do on such a sweet day.
The snow of the previous season had been shed; soaked into the ground over the past two weeks while the sun stretched her arms over her head and yawned with a big hello. She carried Spring along with her and spread her over the ground, making love until evening so that the fruits of their desire fell into seeds. Figs, apples, berries, nuts, and foliage dotted the bushes, the nettle, and the trees. All slowly growing ripe in their waiting, blooming in large families to match the quick growth of the flowers. White flowers, pink flowers, red flowers, yellow flowers; lilacs and lavenders and daisies and on the far side of the traveled grounds, even roses.
It was picturesque. Undisturbed. Serene in a way that many places weren’t. The breeze was constant and fresh and the sun peeked from behind big fluffy clouds, announcing her presence with a soft whisper.
And so beautiful it was that she was perfectly content with leaning beside the stone wall of the cave’s entrance; eyes trained on nothing but the journal in her hands. It was worn and old, made from leather with a latch clasp that was slowly rusting, but it was thick and good - full of notes and ideas and places and numbers. 1546 years of being alive as she was, tallying each day until the bitterness overwhelmed the distinct pride of prolonged survival and the tallies became a thing of the past. After all, there was no need to count when the days weren’t numbered.
Sure, there was a bounty on her head, but that didn’t matter. Not in the glory of a new Spring. There was no room for bloodshed on such a beautiful afternoon - and so she was not worried about a bumbling blistering fool with a great ego and dull blade. And so she was not worried about a feral creature with no regard for predator and prey dynamics. And so she was not worried about a-
“AGH!”
-woman?
Her head snapped up, rousing small hisses from the slumbering children.
The woman, she quickly confirmed, had fallen into the river. On her hands and knees, she wavered in the current and let out little sounds- huffs and grunts and even a small curse of ‘Gods, honestly!’- while she scrunched up the fabric of her skirt in her hands and struggled to her feet. Her hair, scraggly and unclean, hung over her face, wet at the ends and dry at the top.
A part of her felt the need to offer assistance, but common sense told her to stay put - and only to watch. Eventually, as time would say, the strange woman managed to trip her way over to the river’s bank and press her hands into the mud and rock. Then she scrambled up, her sandaled feet working in earnest to help lug her body over the edge and finally- finally- leave her belly up in the grass, heaving great breaths of air. Up and down her chest fell while she faced the sky. Her skirt, patterned and brown, hung below her knees and stuck to her legs; and the shirt, white and flowing and clearly a bit too big for her frame, turned see-through with the water-lined hem that rested against her sides. Her feet were bare in her simple sandals and aside from a blue worn shoulder bag- one that strapped sideways along her front- there was nothing particularly distinct about the stranger. She was just a woman returning home. Or a woman searching for something. Or a woman on a mission to provide for her family.
But whichever she was, woman with a purpose or not, she was no friend. And so she made no move to leave her cave and instead, sat, and returned to her journal.
So the breeze passed.
And the clouds strolled.
The river went forward. And the grass went back.
And for a good long while, nothing happened.
Then there was a shuffling, and a noise of effort, and a soft simmer of hisses began to rise. Feeling the slow slipping of movement on top of her head, she looked up.
The woman had gotten to her feet, apparently done with her momentary bask in the sun, and began ringing out the water at the bottom of her skirt. The bag she had was on the ground, and everything in it was spread out on the grass. From her point by the cave, a good distance away, she could see a few bits of light clothing, a comb, a small stone knife (which needed a good sharpening), and two wrapped bits of woven leaves and twine. There was no scent of meat in the air, aside from the flesh of the fauna within the forest, so she figured the woman most likely carried berries and nuts for nutrition. Which was, judging by the contents on her person, certainly not enough in an effort to run away.
The woman looked up. Her body jumped - like a spooked young doe, and her own body tensed. Silently, she told her children to hush. Then she thought, wished,-
‘Don’t turn your head. Don’t turn your head. Don’t turn your head. Don’t-’
Apparently deciding that there was nothing to worry about, the stranger kept her back turned to the cave and went back to wringing out her clothing. The hisses and movement had ceased, but the children were still vigilant - watching with perceptive sapphire eyes as the stranger then began to- oh!
She looked away, turning her head so quickly that the children jerked with her. One of the younglings instantly took the opportunity to slide along the shell of her ear and give a mean rumbling clicky-hiss. Absent-mindedly, she reached up to flick the child back into place; paying more attention to her own behavior than anything else.
The woman had reached to take off her shirt- to draw it above her midriff and throw it onto the grass. The river, mixed with the Springtime air, was a good place to stop and bathe, she supposed. It was her plan later anyway to go for a dip herself, if not to feel clean then to at least wash the little companions she carried with her. But the woman beat her to it. And in the silence as she averted her gaze, ignoring the blush of heat on her pale cheeks, the soft sounds of clothing hitting the ground some feet away filled the air. And when that was said and done, a few splashes and small shrieks - drawn from the chill of the river.
When it was quiet, and she was comfortable enough to sneak a look, she found the woman’s back turned to her still. Her hair was wet and slicked, sticking slightly to her neck as she turned this way and that and- oh. She had soap too. So that must have been in one of the two woven bundles.
‘Hm. Smart.’ But not entirely. It wasn’t good to stay long bathing out in the open. Hunters and gatherers and silly stupid mortals had a habit of coming around at the most inopportune times.
She knew that very well.
Though… since the woman was washing up near her cave… there was no harm in observing the scenery. No harm in taking interest in the sun. No, not at all. They would each have their privacy, and as long as the woman didn’t turn around, everything would be fine. And she could keep an eye out… for birds, of course. Not hunters. No no.
So that’s how it went.
The woman bathed, humming to herself, keeping her back to the cave and turning only to lather soap on another part of her body. Completely unaware of the forest creatures watching her. And one creature in particular made it her mission to watch the land, observing and peering; hearing the crackles of branches and chirping of baby birds, listening for footsteps or voices. But none came. And soon enough, the woman was rising from the river, putting on her sandals, and going to sit on the laid out skirt from earlier. She had no cloth to dry off… and so would use the sun.
‘Hm. Not so smart.’ A hiss or two from her children told her they agreed.
It was not right for a woman to be so vulnerable like that. And out in the open. If she weren’t there, the stranger could be hurt. Or worse - killed. But it was good then that she wasn’t alone, wasn’t it? That she had a guardian of sorts… who would kill her too if only she looked her way.
Did- had she fallen asleep?
Like that?
In the middle of the grass with her belongings spread around her and her body, soft and nude, bared to the sun?
‘Is she mad?’
Maybe she was. Or maybe she was just young. Maybe life hasn’t hurt her too severely just yet. And maybe Larissa was being harsh.
Hm.
Well.
It didn’t really matter either way. There was nothing else to do, and though the stranger wasn’t really ‘company’, she was still action. So there was no desire to chase her off and there was no desire to see her maimed - thus, Larissa sat. She tucked long pale legs beneath her, shifted the white chiton to fall on her shoulders just so, and kept her journal close at hand. Night was due to fall soon enough, as it always did in early Spring, so the tools for a fire were already prepared behind her - waiting to be utilized and set later. Hopefully the woman would be gone by then.
But she wasn’t.
At some point, she’d gotten up to change into different clothing; a dress hand-stitched from red dyed fabric. It was pretty, yes, but not very practical for running away.
‘But good clothing was probably the only thing she had.’
Which was most likely true, Larissa mused. Many young women, richer than most, took it upon themselves to run away. Their reason for doing so depended on who they were. The stranger in the red dress, who decided to lay on the grass and fall asleep again, was a woman of status but not to the point of being a royal. If that were the case, there’d be men on horses trailing close behind. Unless they hadn’t found her yet… and were using dogs to track her scent…
The children stirred, hissing with disdain and fear.
She watched the young woman with anxious eyes.
Such a naive thing could lead to her death, once and for all…. and how ironic would that be. A scorned woman with a passion for soft things… destroyed by a soft woman with a passion for a free life. Had they both wanted that at one point? Or was it still something they desired?
The children settled. She continued to watch the land.
But eventually, as Spring would have it, the peacefulness of the quiet had her lulling off to sleep as well. And she only awoke to the feeling of soft kitten licks at her cheekbones. The repeated lap at her skin had her groaning and flicking the offender away - only to have two more slide up and continue twice as hard.
“Ugh, what is it?” She groaned, scrunching her eyes together before pushing herself upright.
The licks turned to urgent hisses- and her darlings started writhing with anxiety- telling her to get up! And if possessed, she stood quickly and looked out into the sudden dark of night. The sun had disappeared. There was not a single light out there in the black. But there was movement. Breath.
The woman. She was still asleep. Dreaming about whatever it was that women liked her dream about.
Larissa frowned.
Well she couldn’t just leave her out there, could she? No! That was- that was… inhumane. Terrible. A fate worse than anything. And if she woke up to the screams of the stranger- if she woke up to her pain… she could risk killing everyone in sight. Literally.
A young king nipped at her ear.
She huffed. Well. It just wouldn’t do. It just wouldn’t do at all.
And so she collected the fabric of her chiton in her clawed hands and marched forward to the sleeping beauty. The creatures were stiff with observation, keeping their reptilian eyes sharp and alert as she moved - quiet as a snake and dangerous as… well. Herself.
When she was finally standing over the stranger, she let the cloth fall from her hands. The woman, in comparison to her, was short. And vulnerable. And maybe she’d just take her to the edge of the nearest village… or something like that. Something far from her cave and her life. But as she finished slipping the woman’s belongings into her bag (which had since dried from her fall in the river), a whisper rumble of thunder from the clouds above had her sighing. Well. A Spring storm was usually a good sign of the incoming year, but to have one so early was… less than favorable. Her plans, too, were foiled. The children quite disliked the rain, and getting her own clothing wet was something she desperately wanted to avoid (the heavier material took much longer to dry than what the strange woman wore - so she’d have to resort to at least another change of clothes for a day. Which she seldomly tried to wear.)
‘Well. We can’t leave her out here. So as long as she keeps her back turned, we won’t have any trouble now will we?’
No, probably not. Hell for all she knew, the woman could sleep through the whole night and then she could put her back outside in the morning and she could tottle off on her way as though nothing ever happened. Or she could wake up in the middle of the night and take Larissa’s head. Yes. Or that could happen. Which would really be quite terrible. Most likely painless, but still terrible.
The thought of that had Larissa pausing. The woman’s sling bag fell limp in her hand.
Was she taking too big of a risk? Never before had she helped a stranger like that, but she was not unfamiliar with such kindness. It was hard to find in her years, but she’d witnessed the sweetest acts of tenderness amongst strangers. Usually between two women.
She frowned. Some of her children turned, peering over to look down at the sleeping stranger.
Her hair covered her eyes and her limbs were spread out like she was sleeping on the comfiest bit of cloud that ever existed. Like she had no cares at all. It was both endearing and confusing. How could a woman sleep so soundly in the wilderness? How could a woman sleep so soundly in the open? Did her lack of awareness make her an omen of danger? Or was she a passing soul Larissa could provide help for? Someone to make her feel like she was human again… Like she was capable of being good instead of being what she… was.
A flash of lightning in the distance, above the forest before her, told her it was time to hurry up. Spring held no qualms about trapping the world in a downpour, and she didn’t feel like trekking through mud before bed.
So making up her mind quickly, Larissa slung the stranger’s bag over her shoulder and bent down to pick her up. She tried to be mindful of her sharp fingers when sliding her hands beneath the woman’s back and thighs; though surprisingly, for all of her mortal weight, she was easy to carry. Strength, Larissa had figured early on into her ‘new life’, was one of the very few advantages she’d gained after her transformation. But never before had she picked up a human. And never would she do it again as she realized how difficult it was to keep from jostling them. She was just so… limp. Her head lolled a little bit and her arms ragdolled and she looked more like a young woman than an adult stranger. But nonetheless, Larissa carried her back to the cave. The children were silent, understanding somehow that they were not to wake the mortal with their clicks and hisses and little rattling sounds. As endearing as their mother found it, the human would not take too kindly to their existence - before she turned into nothing but a statue, of course.
‘Don’t wake up don’t wake up don’t wake up don’t wake up,’ Larissa thought desperately to herself as she padded into the cave and placed the woman onto her bed. There was nowhere else for her to rest, and it wasn’t like Larissa was planning on getting much sleep in her company anyway, so onto the little nest of stolen blankets, wool, and pillows she went. Slipped so easily from Larissa’s pale arms - and then cared for even more when she went about gently turning her around onto her side, belly facing the cave wall, before pulling the mismatched bed coverings up to her shoulders.
The thunder and lightning from the world beyond was growing more intense by the second, striking a worried chord in her heart that had her quickly placing the woman’s bag beside her body and flitting around to get her home comfortable for the evening. The routine followed as it did every night. Gently unwind the twine that holds back the bramble, vine, and leaf-woven curtains to each side of the cave wall; being careful of the sap-gum that held everything in place. Then gently arrange the curtains, as thick and prickly as they were, to cover the entirety of the cave’s entrance. Once that is finished, move around in the dark for the corner in which the fires are conducted - then go about striking the rock and the wood and adding the sticks and gathering a flame and letting out a sigh of relief when the warm glow fills the grey emptiness of the space.
She had planned on going hunting that evening, before sundown, but the stranger stole all of her attention away; and searching for meat during a storm was a fruitless mission. They were both lucky then that Larissa had enough forethought to search for various nuts, grains, and fruits the day previous. They were stored away behind the fabric of her pillow… which was preoccupied by the woman’s sleeping head.
The world rumbled as Larissa propped herself up against the cave wall. There was never much to do besides ponder, write, sleep, and hunt… so she turned back to her journal, deciding to spend some time detailing the woman she came across. Her hand moved with sharp twirls and scritches, writing of how strange the mortal was; how innocent; how peaceful she looked sleeping in her bed, completely unaware of the monster that lurked behind her. Like a daisy in a pretty green field… soon to be trampled beneath the hungry paw of a bastard wolf; left without the gift of seeing so she couldn’t even anticipate her untimely death. It was rather sad. It was rather brutal. No woman deserved a fate such as that - for she was only running away and did not think she would be dragged into the cave of a beast.
As the embers of the flame died, the woman continued to sleep. There reached a point where Larissa thought she was dead. Despite being able to hear the warm thump of her heart, she still stood and loomed over the stranger - only to find that yes, she was still alive. Just resting.
‘Must have been quite a long journey if she’s been asleep for that long,’ she mused to herself, turning away to tend to the puttering glows of their fire.
Though as soon as the rain started, coming down in thick pats upon the mud outside of the cave, the huddle of blankets in her bed stirred, and her children stood - turning to glare at the sound. A soft swishing fell into the thunderstorm’s undercurrent as the woman moved her legs, kicked them out to stretch, groaned softly beneath her breath, and turned onto her back. She pawed at her hair, eyes still closed, and Larissa reached up to wrap her index finger and thumb around the snout of her eldest child.
‘Don’t speak,’ she quietly commanded the bunch, ‘I do not want to be the last thing she sees.’
But the crackling of the fire, paired with its warmth and light, had the woman releasing a confused hum as she shuffled onto her hands and pushed herself up to sit. Larissa watched, silent, while the stranger slowly came back to her senses and regained consciousness.
“Is there- what-” she spoke, soft voice trailing off into a myriad of inaudible questions.
The child in her grasp wriggled, having had enough of its mother’s scolding, eager to rejoin the others in their free scrutiny. She finally let it go, tapping its pale head with the tip of one finger, and then slid the journal from her lap and placed it onto the cave’s floor as quietly as she could. Spooking the woman was the last thing she wanted to do, but as she stood to her full height and gently pulled some of the loose fabric of her chiton closer to her body, the stranger jumped anyway - and instantly got to her feet.
Larissa’s heart stopped, tripping over itself as she jerked her head down.
“Wh-Who’s there?! What do you want with me?! I have a knife!!” The stranger’s voice, scared and loud, full of false bravery, was quieted by the rain and thunder.
‘You don’t have a knife. You don’t know where it is,’ was Larissa’s inner thoughts- right as the woman began murmuring to herself.
“Wait. Where is the knife…” and only when there was the dull sound of knees dropping onto fabric, did Larissa finally bring her blue eyes up.
The woman, in her absence of the knife… went looking for it. On her hands and knees… patting the ground… searching through the fabrics of the bed and slapping her soft palms against the stone of the cave’s floor… frantic and confused…
Larissa frowned.
“It’s in your bag.”
You jumped, letting out a harsh breath while your heart skipped up into your throat.
“Who goes there?! Who are you?!” Your voice was shrill, loud and scared as you forgot about the knife and went pushing yourself back up into your feet. “I-I know how to fight!” You yelled into the darkness, putting up your fists.
It was a lie of course- you had no idea how to fight- but that didn’t matter. As long as the person- woman?- thought you were tough enough to hold your own.
But when you huffed and puffed and bared your teeth, keeping your fists up, nothing happened. Complete silence filled the air, interrupted only by the rain and the flicker of a fire nearby. You could feel its warmth on you even in your panic - even as you stepped back and back and back until your shoulders hit something hard behind you. It was a wall; a curved imperfect wall that told you you weren’t in a cabin or home with extremely open windows, somewhere in the woods, but were instead in… in… well. You didn’t actually know. It’s not like you could see and just find out. Though despite that, you still looked around wildly - keeping your ears open for movement.
There was none.
You frowned.
“…How… are… you…?” It was a woman! The voice, spoken in front of you, across whatever space you were in, was smooth and deep. Accented. She sounded strange. Foreign. And also incredibly confused. Almost… astounded? Like she couldn’t quite believe what was happening.
“Don’t make me ask again,” you warned, reminding yourself that some women could be just as dangerous as men, “what do you want with me?”
“Blind…” came the soft response; so quick- it was in the air before you finished speaking; so quiet you had to strain to hear. “You’re… blind.”
Well. Yes. It was a rather defining feature; one that many noticed and took advantage of. One that people thought they could ‘work with’ and use to trick you - but you were clever. And strong. And personable in a way that many didn’t expect. The stranger across from you though… she was still just another potential danger. Still just a thing to be aware of. And so you cleared your throat and nodded, putting your hands at your sides and curling them into fists.
“Yes. I am. And what about it?” You sniffed, tilting your head up, trying to seem braver than you were.
No amount of cleverness, after all, could save a blind woman from a tricky death. If the river you had fallen into earlier was a cavern or a very deep pit, you would have been finished. Thank goodness you took advantage of it at the time.
“…Nothing. I apologize. I have- never met a blind person before,” the woman spoke, stilted and cautious. Still with an undercurrent of awe in her voice. It was peculiar, the way she was acting, but you shrugged it off. The apology was unexpected but not unwelcome. It had you squinting into the nothingness of your vision.
“Well. Now you have.” You nodded, suddenly feeling rather awkward.
Yes. She had. You were right.
Right and blind.
Blind. Unable to see.
The children froze, and she felt the way they looked at each other, unsure and confused. No doubt wondering ‘What issss happening?’ They were too familiar with mortal skin turning grey and hard at the smallest glimpse in their direction to understand what was happening. All they knew was their mother and solitude. And she, likewise, had no concept of how to deal with a stranger that did not want to- or simply couldn’t- kill her.
The milky color of the stranger’s eyes, although rare and odd, was beautiful. Like the wispy white of the clouds when they blanketed the moon at midnight. Light and dark at the same time… grey under a matter of circumstance. The cherry on top of the woman’s strange existence. Shocking to a new face but glorious to a trained eye. Her children observed the mortal with unending curiosity; casting violence aside as they slithered to their tallest heights and curled down, swaying their small pale heads. The situation was lost on them, but that didn’t matter. They’d understand eventually. Perhaps when the woman was gone the previous morning and she could muse over the mortal out loud to herself.
But until then,
“Are you hungry?” She wasn’t sure what else to ask.
You felt your stomach rumble- speaking to you as though the mention of eating had woken it up from its slumber.
“Um yes… you’re not going to poison me though, are you?”
There was a short gasp.
“Goodness, no. Why would I do that?”
She sounded so outraged- so shocked by your question- that you almost smiled. You couldn’t see her expression, but there was sincerity in her velvet voice. Like she was genuinely surprised, if not offended, that you’d ask her of all people that. It didn’t matter if you’d asked in slight jest or not; she didn’t seem to understand the consequences that came with literal blind trust.
“Some people like to take advantage,” you murmured, shrugging at the same time. Most women understood what you meant. People during that time, men in particular, saw the weak souls of the world and let their eyes light up with the chance to exert power. It was common. It was difficult. The woman opposite you, you were nearly certain, understood the sentiment as well.
“I–… yes. I realize that,” she stated, her voice growing firm. “But I’m not going to poison you. I’m not a m-” There was a soft hissing hush that filled the air, cutting into her words with a sharp strength you couldn’t ignore
What on Earth…
“What was that?”
“Nothing,” was the quick response. “I have nuts and berries I found not too long ago. Will that be enough?”
Your brow furrowed. What was she hiding?
“Um yes- yes that would be lovely… thank you.”
And with that, the stranger let out a hum and went walking around, shuffling along to grab a few things while you stood there on (what you assumed was) her bed. It was soft; pillowed with linens and fabrics and blankets that felt as though they’d come from all over the world when you shifted from one foot to the other. You frowned at the odd feeling and stepped off of the coverings- not wanting to flatten or dirty her sleeping area. It was kind of her to even put you there in the first place; though you wondered if she’d carried you herself or dragged you along. Not many women in your time, or the village where you were from, had the strength or initiative to pick up another woman and carry her anywhere, let alone their own bed. But if you were dragged along the grassy terrain outside, you surely would have felt the bumps and stops, no?
Either way, as soon as you stepped onto the hard ground of- well- wherever- you were at, you turned to the sound of movement and cleared your throat.
“And um… thank you for taking me here. Keeping me safe. You didn’t have to do that, but you did anyway. So- I appreciate it.” You fidgeted; keeping your hands at your waist and picking at the soft skin around your nails.
The shuffling paused.
“…You’re welcome.” The stranger replied softly.
It was almost like she wasn’t sure what to say. Like she didn’t hear the words ‘thank you’ very often. Like maybe she didn’t come into contact with people very often. And perhaps she didn’t. How else could she have found you if she didn’t live away from civilization? It wasn’t unheard of; it was just not very common. But, as you always said, to each their own. There was no room for judgment, after all - the woman probably ran away in a similar fashion as you did. In the very beginnings of morning, before the sun even rose, with everything you could think to carry in a satchel slung across your shoulders, heading out into the world as though it wouldn’t prove to be as dangerous as the life you left had been. The only difference being that nothing could make you want to return to that - not even the scary sounds that came out of the forest at night. The woman, even if only for one evening, was a saving grace.
And still a stranger.
She puttered around some more, dragging soft things across the ground- leaf bowls you assumed- and poured water into clay cups.
“I never got your name, you know. So I can remember you.” It was a hesitant thing to say, but you figured that if you somehow made friends with the woman, you could come back to her one day if you ever needed the shelter. Or the company. The world was tough, after all; and not always did a woman succeed on her own.
That woman had, though.
That woman, who stopped her actions again and allowed the combined ambience of the rain and fire to melt into the space.
That woman, who inhaled sharply before exhaling into one spoken breath:
“Larissa.”
Get Us Strung
We're back to our regularly scheduled programming with another angst-y piece. Inspired by the song Dirty Love by Mt. Joy comes the tale of John Price and his best friend. My apologies if it seems a bit disconnected, it was originally much larger but I decided to scrap a lot of it (See? I can be nice sometimes.), but I tried my best. Also, this was edited on pure audaciousness, a bottle of wine, and a pitcher of margaritas. Do with that what you will.
Lastly, the biggest thank you to @mvtthewmurdvck for once again tolerating me bombarding her with snippets galore and supporting me as she always does.
(Can we consider this as a somewhat happy ending? My original one was A LOT worse.)
Pairing: John Price x f!Reader Warnings: Explicit Sexual Scenes and a gallon of pain :)
Nostalgia is a cruel consonance of sentimentality and longing. A honeyed trap you could easily get caught in if you aren’t careful.
You weren’t.
All it took was one precarious step forth into its birdlime confines and you’re stuck, forever adhered to moments gone by. Try as you might to break free, to rid yourself of the persistent fog that looms and live in the present — you’re simply unable. The struggle of it brands ropes into your skin. A chemical burn that scabs eventually, but it leaves you debilitated of every ounce of strength you have to leave.
With time, you make do.
You adjust to the circumstances you’ve found yourself in. It’s easy enough — to simply give in. It’s like the call of a warm bed on a cold winter morning. The arms of a man you love held open in an invitation. It’s the perfect balm to your stinging disappointments and embittered thoughts.
Witness, reminisce — rinse and repeat.
A moment here. An admission of love there, just not the right kind. Not enough to keep you satisfied, just enough you keep you—
There. Still. Stuck in time. Recycling the same out-of-date echoes through your trench of despondency till they fossilize.
It’s his eyes that do you in, really. Lapis set in moonstone white reminding you of the ebb and flow of deep ocean currents that gently coax you inwards to drift among the waves.
They were the first thing you noticed about him.
A skinny kneed boy of eleven, head full of bistre-brown hair, and the bluest eyes you ever saw that suddenly wanted to be your friend. He was loud and brutish in contrast with your more reluctant and constrained demeanour and yet—
He was your best friend. Your first. Your only.
Is your best friend.
Tumblr media
Five years later, he left to join the infantry.
He departed, eager to prove his worth. While you stayed back with a poor facsimile of a supportive smile as he promised his eventual return.
I’ll be back on leave before you know it.
But—
I’ll be back.
And I’ll be here.
You clung to him when he told you he was enlisting, fingers curling into the sleeves his Fleetwood Mac t-shirt — a gift from you for his fifteenth. He’d asked if you wanted to keep it, as a reminder of him.
Wouldn’t need to if you just stayed, Johnny.
In the fortnight leading up to his departure, you prayed for a last-minute change of his mind. Maybe the realization that he couldn’t stay without you would finally come to the surface.
It had to. Eventually.
You couldn’t bear the thought of walking up the morning after he left, just missing a part of you. Feeling a crater right in the middle of your chest grow wider and deeper as the distance between you and him extended.
But as the days counted down, his excitement grew nearly as fast as your despair.
It began with you pulling out all the stops, reminding him of the comforts of home, of you. To him, it was only the perfect gift farewell.
It wasn’t until just the day before that you decided to take the cheap shot and just beg.
Don’t leave. Just— please just stay, okay? You don’t have to go. You don’t have to leave me— please, Johnny. I can’t—
He stood at an arm’s length and listened to you in silence, watched you scrounge every ounce of emotional ammunition you could, until your voice ran hoarse, and your tears ran dry.
The pained expression that your outburst gradually chiseled onto his face left you shamelessly hopeful, and you took a step forward to close the distance between you and him.
He wordlessly took a step back.
The time slowed, and the seconds hemorrhaged until he finally spoke.
All he responded with was—
I have to.
You saw him standing out on my pavement by your house the next morning, walking across the same yard over and over. He’d glance upward at your window every now and then in such excruciating hope that you might grace him with something as simple as a wave goodbye.
But you didn’t. You simply stood there, watching from the shadows, trying to find some relief in tears shed, but you came up dry.
And he left.
Tumblr media
When he returned, he came as Private Johnathan Price.
Nearly half a foot taller since you saw him last. Mostly the same in disposition if only a bit more self-assured.
In the 18 months of his absence, all you had was a shoebox full of unopened letters and that chasm left behind that grew deeper, still. Every week, unquestioningly, there’d be an envelope addressed to you. And every week, you’d hold it with measured trepidation and excitement. The first one brought you relief to know that you hadn’t lost him in your near ruinous parting of ways. But as you felt the weight of it in your hands, your fingers prudently tracing the ink, you couldn’t bring yourself to read what lay inside. It felt it would be ripping the bandaging off of a wound that had barely begun to heal.
So, you kept it aside.
18 months. 72 weeks. Every corresponding letter that followed underwent the same approach. You held them, appreciated them for their infallible arrival, and locked them away with repentance as the pile grew.
The letter that followed, came hand-delivered.
“You could have written back at least once, y’know.” He says with a smile.
“I’m—”
Sorry, Johnny. Forgive me. Forgive me. Please—
Your ensuing apology dies at your lips, and you nearly suffocate under the weight of it until—
“It’s okay.” He promises.
“It’s not.” You assert back.
His gaze softens and he tries again. “Hurt ya when I left, didn’t I?”
“You did.”
“So, it’s okay.”
He means to placate. You know this and an infinitesimal part of you appreciates it. But what takes more prominence is one blazing question left behind.
It blisters and leaves behind the blackened soot of your unmatched expectations. A skeletal impression of his well intended albeit anticlimactic confession.
All you’re left wondering is—
Why didn’t it hurt you to leave me, too?
Tumblr media
You met him in London to celebrate your collective 21st birthdays some time halfway in between them.
It took some coordination, between your school and his training in Sandhurst. He never told you — said he wanted to keep you detached from that part of his life.
How’re the— I don’t know what to ask, John. You never tell me anything.
I tell you plenty.
He does well— his mother informed you as much. But the details remained vacant. You try to fill in the blanks, hazard a guess — a poor approximation of the real thing, you’re certain.
It wasn’t something you liked, but never fought him on it. It felt as though your paths diverged at too steep of an angle and you were the only one trying to get them to realign. He seemed content in this compartmentalization, while you worried your margin in it would grow smaller still.
The disconnect it created left you unsettled. Like a trail down the woods that suddenly ends midway. You’re disoriented and unanchored, forever caught in an abridged narrative with his part missing.
But you couldn’t keep waiting around—
Something you tell yourself to make it better.
“Didn’t bring him with you, then?” He slides a glass of ale across the table to you, the bottom of it catching on the adherent buildup of many a spilled drink, causing the foam at the top to dribble over.
“You asked me not to, John.” You mutter, indignant.
You wouldn’t have asked to begin with, but for appearances sake—
“Didn’t want to have to share you with some other bloke, is all.” His self-satisfied grin tells you he sees right through it.
The implications that simmered beneath that statement cut through you instantly.
He didn’t want to have to share.
What would happen if you told him that it was never even brought to question? That you were his, and his alone.
Would he make it come true?
Would he—
“I’d like for you to meet him eventually, y’know.” You opted for a safer route. Something more dependable. Everything John isn’t.
That’s a lie. He’s nothing but.
“If he stays around long enough.”
“Johnny.” You snap, irritably.
“Been a while since you called me that.” He murmurs, his grin slipping into something less presumptuous and more unshielded. Vulnerable.
“We’re not kids anymore.” You turn your gaze downward, nails digging into the chipping laminate on the cheap bar top until he flicks the side of your palm to make you stop.
“No, we’re not.” It’s his tone that makes you look back up— hinting at some kind of unspoken understanding that you recognize right away.
Let’s not pretend, then.
Tumblr media
It’s in the dimming obscurity of alcohol when it finally happens. With your dress hiked up over the curve of your ass, and panties pulled to the side — he fucked you in a rush, outside in the cold fall air. The grain of the brick wall scratched your cheek with every thrust he buried himself in you. His ale-laden breath at the cusp of your ear, his hands cupping your breasts, squeezing — they were your only source of warmth.
“Fuckin’ hell, I’ve wanted to—” He confessed.
“So have I, Johnny.” You matched his revelation with your own.
But this wasn’t how it was supposed to—
You’ll take what you’re given. Even if it’s just this once, just tonight. A fleeting taste is better than the fantasy of him you’ve held on to.
He’s better than what you’ve had in the past. Better than what you’d thought he’d be like.
Or maybe, it’s just how well knows you.
He knows how deep you need to feel him, no matter if it hurts just a little. It’s the kind of hurt you enjoy.
How many women have you been with, John?
Does it matter?
Yes. No. Maybe?
It was you that crossed the line. A temerarious lapse in judgment, a flick of a wrist that knocked down an already precipitous house of cards when suddenly your lips descend upon his. He tastes of stale beer and the cigarette you bummed off an old man at the pub. With a grunt of surprise, he reciprocates, his tongue invading past your lips.
In a flash of somewhat sloppy adjustment, your back remained firmly pressed against the brick wall of the side of the pub, while his hands to the side of you effectively cage you in.
It’s not soon after that he takes the reins.
His mouth is everywhere — your lips, glossing over your jaw to the underside while he firmly grasps a fistful of your hair at the root, tilting your face upwards. He lays siege to the delicate column of your neck, armed with a stinging bite and the consolatory swipe of his tongue after.
John. Johnny.
The straps of your top hang loosely off your shoulders as he pulls the front of it down haphazardly to latch on to your nipple. You helplessly mewl beneath him, fingers trembling as they undo the buckle of his belt.
“Tell me to stop, love. Tell me, or I’ll—” He groans. Your hands sink in past the zipper to palm his erection. Warm. Solid.
“Please, don't.” You sink to your knees with the excitement, the need to taste him chafing at your rib cage with every beat of your heart.
“Fuck— fuck, okay. Just slow down—”
“John. Please.”
“I’ll make it good, yeah? For you. I will.” He swears.
I know you will.
Tumblr media
You moved to Liverpool a year later. Something about staying in Hereford without him just kept you trapped in a state of inertia. Spending your time waiting more than anything else. It was time to move on.
Or try to, at any rate.
Humble beginnings for you — a modest apartment, a job that paid the bills and nothing else.
You settled into a routine — oscillating between work, home, and bisected friendships that you formed.
It’s not the same. It’s not the same.
It’s hard not to hold him somewhat accountable for your perpetual state of futility. There’s an essence of banality that follows you wherever you go. A life lived in half measures, mediocre and prosaic. It isn’t fair, and yet—
Why couldn’t you just stay, John?
It’s usually at night when the bitter tendrils of your regret slink up your limbs, like stalks of Golden Pothos, that collect around neck and squeeze.
A fire that kindles all too easily.
Can you even call it your own, when it’s caused by the choices of another?
It’s when you think back to that night in London, the weight of his cock in the palm of your hand— the way his eyes pinched shut and his head tilted back as you attempted to take him all the way in.
“Where the fuck did you learn how to do that?” He’d asked in a choked groan.
Had the head of his cock not been pressed against the back of your throat you’d have answered with:
Upset you weren’t the one to teach me, aren’t you Johnny?
Whatever remnants of that night that weren’t washed away by the glassy comber of one drink too many, replayed themselves a hundred times over. Every reiteration leaves you breathless and wanting — the evidence of it clearly shining on the inside of your thighs and the tips of your fingers.
Until—
A knock.
“You moved.” His voice was weight down by many an unspoken accusation.
“I did.” There’s no point in an apology— he’s here now.
“You never said.” Anger. Hurt. Betrayal — all in coalescence that lacerates you so deeply, you might stain the walls blood red.
“I— Do you want to come in—?”
He walked across the threshold, brushing past your shoulder before you even finished inviting him in.
“You— it’s not much. I’ve only just—” You stumble your way through some kind of explanation as he sheds himself off his duffel and coat. Any reasoning you were able to muster trickles back down your throat as he makes himself comfortable on your sofa, the floral embellished cushion sinking under the weight of him like it’s his right to be.
“It’s nice.”
You’d have expected him to feel out of sorts in this new home of yours, but he finds his place in it so naturally it fucking stings.
It really could have been that easy— a life with him. It’s a dangerous thought experiment but you wonder if he also aches for that near miss of a surrogate life. A peripeteia of decisions that might have led you down a different path entirely.
“How long are you on leave this time?” It’s a jibe and he notices. There’s an unmistakable clench in his jaw, a steely look set in his eyes at your question like he’s willing you to challenge him.
You almost do.
Good of you to waltz by after a year, Johnny. I’ve been waiting.
You really have.
“Two weeks. If you’ll have me.”
You considered turning him away simply out of spite. A laughable thought, really. An egomaniacal deliberation you pretend to have.
You’d never—
“Aren’t you going home?”
Don’t say yes. Please, don’t say yes.
“Would’ve — yeah. But you moved.”
Fuck. Don’t—
“You make it sound like I’m the only reason you come back.”
The words decamp themselves from you without any realization. Subdued embers relight themselves. Veiled desires now unwrapped — a festering infection that itched beneath near-mended dermis now touching air simply because you couldn’t keep your mouth shut.
“Would— would it be so bad if I said yes?” He asks, wavering slightly in his footing only to gauge your reaction, and you pray you’re not giving anything away.
Yes. Yes, it fucking would, John. Because—
It means nothing in the scheme of its payoff. You don’t know what he expects, because to you his disclosure only exacerbates the acridity of his absence tenfold. It makes his eventual departure seem like a harsher slap to the face.
You could accuse him of pretense. Tell him how hollow it makes you feel.
Or simply—
“No. Of course not.” You lie with a smile, instead.
He believes you.
Tumblr media
His parents pass within a year of each other. He attends both funerals in uniform — having only singular days granted to him in lieu of bereavement.
It might have been a personal choice in his father’s case, which happened to be the latter.
The first was an open casket, the second closed — both lowered into the ground while his hand firmly grasped yours.
And after—
On both days, he found himself buried in you, however in polar opposite ways.
It began gentle, with his need to be held and your need to oblige. You straddle him in the backseat of your busted-up Mondeo Estate, soaking in his silent grief as you whisper condolences. He finds his home in the crook of your neck, bedewed with the warmth of his breath and his tears.
He tastes of grief.
Regret, even.
Maybe, one day, you’ll tell him it didn’t have to be that way.
Imagine what we could’ve been, John.
Only seven months later, you find yourself in circumstances alike only in one solitary way. This time, it’s his anger that transcends the grief. You’re turned away, bent over the disjointed desk in the corner of his childhood bedroom. His fingers etching your skin in a mosaic of blue and purple, willing you to acquiesce to his baser instinct rather than envelop him in comfort. He fucked you, brutally — bare teeth, white knuckles. A lacquer of vitriol to coat you in. Only apologetic in the aftermath.
And—
He wouldn’t let you kiss him.
Tumblr media
Change is a weight borne poorly by most relationships.
You try to blame the distance between his visits, and the fact that he always seems more worse for wear than the last. A chronic transformation with every visit, like rust on iron — sandstone shaded corrosion bleeding into his edges.
He tries to shed himself of it when he’s in your company but it’s ever-present, like a phantom limb. An undeniable extension of himself.
You tell him not to pretend.
Not with me, John.
You might as well be white noise.
What started out as concern he’d brush off with a ‘this isn’t something you need to be worrying about, love’ slowly evolved into disregard which concluded with blatant contempt.
This isn’t what I—
He stopped himself a moment too late.
“This isn’t what I came back for.”
“Glad we’re both disappointments to each other.”
Finally, some truth spilled out. It felt oddly cathartic, even if it meant having your worst fears confirmed.
He makes an implicit plea to retract what’s been said, undo the hurt caused, and return to your perpetual state of synthetic decorum. Two people who tip-toe around each other, chat about the weather, and when all redundancies are through and done with—
Let’s just leave it be. Dinner’s nearly—
He feasts on your cunt like a man starved.
Tumblr media
It’s funny how rarely you consider the sheer probability of his safe return. Is it simply denial? Is he so deeply rooted within your being that imagining him not being there isn’t an ending you can enumerate?
To you, there is simply no finality to John Price. Forever seems like a paltry presumption to have in his line of work and yet, you can never imagine the alternative.
You’ve tried. You even asked him once.
Just once.
“You’ll be informed if— I — they know you’re my— you’ll be informed.” He spoke with such unambiguous apathy like he was reading it off a manual.
Ten different ways to prepare your loved ones for your eventual demise.
“I’ll be informed?” This isn’t the hill to die on, but you just can’t help yourself.
“I don’t know how else to—”
“I’m glad to know I’ll have the privileges of being your widow without you having to marry me, John.”
He recoils away like you just struck him.
It was an unscrupulous remark to make. Atonement is futile, he’d see right through it. All you can do is wait for the dust to settle and carry on.
But he—
“I’d marry you tomorrow if I thought it would fix things.”
It wouldn’t.
Some things are just predestined to remain broken, you suppose.
“I know you would.”
You find yourself at an impasse. Anyone pragmatic might think to cut their losses and retreat. Start anew.
That’s just not who you are.
You find other ways to meet each other halfway, on an equal plane of vulnerability and certitude. Nothing to hide behind in the arms of one another. There are shared breaths, harmonies of impassioned confessions and you find yourselves in the other once more.
You shed the pain you wear like a second skin, disrobed in ways both actual and metaphorical.
He’s kinder and you’re more forgiving.
He tells you it’s his last night with you for a while and you request your goodbye before the morning. You need something to remain unsoiled.
He leaves before you wake.
Tumblr media
Sometimes, he leaves a note.
I’ll be back soon, darling.
Empty words. Hollow promises. An interminable echo in a cave that ripples in the subterranean waters you float in.
Except—
I’m doing the best I can.
And that’s enough.
Gonna call it self-indulgent Saturday.
Pairing: Chigiri Hyoma x f!reader.
Warnings: 18+, not proofread, established relationship, piss.
Tumblr media
These moments with Chigiri were few and far between since he’d entered the leagues, being one of the most in demand players in Japan meant early practises and even earlier nights, your boyfriend often exhausted by the time he’d make it home.
But some days were bliss, the quiet moments where it was just the two of you, no distractions from the outside world, and no football.
He’d cornered you on the way to the bathroom, calloused palms grabbing your hips to lift you up onto the counter. Ignoring your pleas that you needed to use the bathroom first, that you’d only be a second. Even more desperate by the fact that your boyfriend had you mere inches from the toilet, one turn in the small bathroom in your dingy apartment and you’d be seated right there… but for now Chigiri had other plans.
“Fuck, beautiful.” He groaned against your neck, teeth nipping at your jugular as he rut his hips against yours at a selfish pace. The pent up frustrations from the loss of his friendly match against Manshine City had him taking those frustrations out on you.
“Oh, shit.” You whined when he pushed your back against the freezing cold mirror, changing the angle slightly as he towered above you. Your thighs clung to either side of his lean hips as he continued his selfish pace, goosebumps prickled against your skin from the chill as the warmth emanating from between your thighs felt as though it was warming the entire room.
“So pretty for me,” He cooed softly, although his movements contradicted the sweet tone. Setting a brutish pace as he continued to pound into your tight walls, “Missed you.”
“Please, baby.” You whined, feeling the pleasure overtaking the desire to relieve yourself but only just. The tickling ebb still throbbing in your bladder, “Just lemme pee, I’ll be quick.”
“Fuck,” He grunted, “Can’t stop— feels too good.”
You felt his pace speed up, as though he was tempting you to do it— to relieve yourself while he was buried deep inside your tight cunt. But you couldn’t, and you wouldn’t. Even the idea of embarrassing yourself in such an intimate way had your cheeks flushed and your teeth gnawing your lower lip as he seemed to continue to tempt fate.
“Just do it,” He hummed, pressing his lips against your jaw, the soft stubble against his chin tickling you as you felt your walls throb around him as you relaxed, “I don’t care.”
The blasé attitude of your boyfriend who was usually so caring had your thighs quivering as you felt yourself dancing on the edge of your release. Just a few more thrusts and he would have you tripping over and into your bliss.
“Hyoma.” Your orgasm crashes through you in pleasurable waves as his name fell from your lips. The dull ache in your bladder forgotten momentarily as your entire body was filled with scorching hot pleasure.
White spots began to blank your vision as the pleasure of your climax flowed through every inch of you. No matter how many times Chigiri managed to captivate you in this state, you’d never tire of the feeling. The toe-curling euphoria was enough to set your entire body at ease, your muscles relaxing as you lay back and let him use you for his own pleasure. Expecting him to give a few more messy ruts of his hips and give you exactly what you wanted— the sweet sound of your name tumbling from his lips as he spilled his seed inside you.
But he kept going.
“I could do this all day, sweet girl.” Chigiri groaned, pressing searing hot kisses into your skin.
A steely look of determination on his face as he continued to drive his hips forward, hitting that same spot inside you. Your silky walls clenching around him in the post-euphoric glow as he grunts low and deep in his throat. Teeth clenched to stop himself from finding his own release, not just yet.
He hasn’t finished enjoying you.
“Baby, please. I told you, I gotta pee.” Your walls continued clamping down around him as he grunted against your collarbone, warm breath fanning your skin as he grunted.
“No one’s stopping you, princess.”
His fingers dig deeper into your hips, holding you for purchase as he focuses his thrusts on that same spot inside you. The one that has you clenching around him insatiably as your nails claw at his muscles, leaving messy red streaks along his back. Red hair cascades around your frame in soft rivulets as his intense gaze focuses on where your bodies are connected, watching as his slick cock continues to disappear inside your warmth.
“Hyoma,” You gasp, your chest heaving as he disallows you a moments respite, continuing his brutal pace, “I can’t, it’s too much.”
“But look at you, princess. You can,” He hums, ignoring your pleas as he works you closer and closer to your release, “Show me.”
It doesn’t feel the same as it usually does when he sends you crashing into your crescendo, the pleasure blooming throughout you as your orgasm flows through you in harsh waves. This feels different.
“Are you going to give me what I want, sweetheart?” He hummed, deliberately snapping his hips forward roughly to leave you gasping in surprise.
The first trickle left your body as you felt it almost sticky between your bodies, a warmth that you couldn’t describe as Chigiri’s nostrils flared.
“Fuck, there?” He questioned, repeating the movement as he focused his thrusts on the exact same spot as your eyes begun to roll back, “Yeah? That’s it, huh? Right there.”
You cried out as Chigiri rut forward, your thighs clamping down around his hips in a feeble attempt to squeeze them together as you felt yourself giving in to the sensation. Pearly tears clinging to your lashes as your lower lip jutted out into a shameful pout, the warm stream of piss that you’d been trying to keep inside you now flowing as it began to soak his cock and crotch. The warmth surrounding you both as the liquid began to deep into the thick material of his grey sweats and onto the bathroom floor.
You expected him to pull out, to clean up and probably hop in the shower to finish himself off, but he didn’t. His grip remained firm against your hips as he started moving again, his pace even more ferocious now as he greedily used your body to find his own release. Rough ruts of his hips were certain to bruise your thighs as he watched mesmerised as you continued to cover him in your release.
“That’s it, my dirty girl, huh?” He muttered, greedily using you for his own pleasure as his balls began to tighten. A jumbled mess of your name tumbled from his lips as he met his end, spilling white hot ropes of his cum inside your sloppy pussy.
You were making such a mess of him, and Chigiri seemed as though he could care less. A deep, predatory groan rumbled deep in his chest as he watched you soak him, giving another thrust of his hips to try and get you to give him more as if this wasn’t enough, only serving to fuck his cum deeper inside you. Your entire body felt as though it were on fire as the embarrassment began to flow through your veins, but Chigiri was certain he’d never been more in love with you.
“Such a desperate little thing, pissin’ all over me, hm?” He cooed gently, you’re cunt responding to his sweet tone by clamping down around him, making no effort to try and pull out of you, “My messy girl.”
The gentle breeze from the nearby water touched your skin as you stood on the beach, the sand warm and welcoming beneath your bare feet. The ebb and flow of the ocean waves beckoned for you to take a relaxing swim, but you didn't move any closer. Rooted to the spot, your gaze drifted to the shoreline where Bucky stood.
He was waiting for you.
All you had to do was take the next step.
Sensing your hesitation, he walked toward you instead. You weren't sure whether to focus on his chest, his shirt stretched impossibly tight across it and his broad shoulders, or his eyes as blue as the body of water behind him. He was so self-assured and gorgeous for it. He didn't bother trying to hide his desire as he moved closer. No one would be around to witness it anyway.
Private beach and all.
Bucky's frame blocked out some of the sun as he stopped in front of you, but it didn't take the warmth away. The desire previously written all over his face faded as he invaded your space, his grip gentle as he held your jaw. You could've broken free of it if you wanted to, but you didn't.
Not when he began to wipe your tears away.
Why am I crying?
"Do you want me to take you back?" he asked, his voice calm and even. "Just say the word and I will."
That hit you harder than you expected. Would Bucky give up on you so easily if you asked? After he kissed and took you like he owned you? Or was he a man trying to prove he would respect your wishes? That he would put your needs first?
"What if I asked you to kiss me instead?"
Bucky moved his hand to the back of your neck, slow enough that you could stop him or pull away. The blue of his eyes nearly blinded you as he leaned in, your own slipping shut and knowing what was about to come as your heart raced.
But his lips didn't touch yours yet.
"Ask me," he whispered.
BFF’s — Sticky Situation
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: you’re in a hurry and your best friend doesn’t know how to knock
warnings: 18+ only!!! best friends pairing, mutual self pleasure, toy play
notes: from the vault drafts, has been sitting for months and months like everything else 🙃
word count: 1.2k
song inspiration:
drake - sticky
mr probz/robin schultz - waves
“Rafe we can’t, I’m supposed to be at your house in ten minutes to tutor your sister.”
But it’s no use, both of you already laying on the bed, skirt hiking up as his hands grab at every inch of skin they can find, a breathy laugh escaping him felt on the skin of your neck.
“I don’t know what to tell you, you’re going to be late.”
“But she’s already failing—”
“Wheezie can deal, need you more right now.”
“But—”
But his tongue is already gliding across your neck, sliding up to your ear as shivers run down your body, his fingers kneading into the flesh on your legs.
“Show me what you were doing before I so rudely walked in here and interrupted you” as he slides the vibrator back into your hand, feeling the cold texture in your palm.
“Can I watch you?” He asks so sweetly  there’s not a single part of you that would’ve said no. But there’s still that gleam in his eye that says differently.
You lay back, bringing it down between your legs as you press it on, body jolting at the sudden jolt of electrify on your clit. Feeling the waves ebb and flow within you as Rafe watches you intently, hanging on your every movement and moan with the most damning look on his face, absolutely loving watching you pleasure yourself like this.
You’ve felt it pressing against you the last several minutes but your mouth still fully falls open when Rafe pulls his pants down, seeing his dripping cock stick up to his stomach as he brings his hand down to stoke himself.
You can’t help the sounds escaping you watching his hand growing faster, vision hyper focusing on the way the grip his large veiny hand tightens around equally veiny cock, reddening from the action. Your eyes glaze over like a dream as you watch as the word vomit takes over, your head falling to his shoulder.
“Oh my god Rafe, look at you…”
“Look at me?” His hand moving faster as he hears you moan loud under him, the arm not stroking himself pulling you to him.
“You like that…?” As shake your head ferociously against him, only leaning away to get a better look at him. “I love watching you touch yourself. Holy fuck Y/N, look at you. You look so fucking good.”
He hears you press a button, changing the speed of the vibrator between your legs, toes curling and cheeks heating as the tip of Rafe’s cock hits the naked flesh on your stomach with each pump.
“God, I love how sweaty you get when you’re about to come—” no doubt feeling the droplets build behind your neck. “Love how sticky you get for me, baby.”
As he reaches his hand down between your legs, feeling the vibration of the toy against his own skin in the process as he slides across your already milky clit, feeling it coat his fingers with the sticky substance.
Watching with frantic eyes as you see his literal dripping fingers raise up to his face, plunging his own fingers deep into his mouth, eyes rolling to the back of his head at the taste as you watch a drop of your sticky sweet gift drip down his lips…
Fingers plucked from his mouth with a popping sound, his arm now travels around you, pulling you near suffocatingly closer to him, bodies pressed together as you both fight to maintain your movements as you morph together.
“Need to feel you stick to me. Turn that fucking thing up.” your strangled moan following the sound of the vibrator change speed between your shaky legs.
“Are you going to come for me, baby?”
“Fuck— ”
It’s all too much. The fact that you’re late for the tutoring session you promised his sister, the fact that Rafe, your best friend, walked in on you pleasing yourself in your bedroom no less than ten minutes ago. The fact that your head is spinning to the point of seeing stars as your body enters hyperdrive, feeling like there’s fireworks erupting within you as you finally let go and come as you mange to scream out.
“Oh my god, Rafe - I lo-“
Rafe comes at that exact moment; eyes still bulging and mind exploding into a million pieces as he fully releases his load all over your stomach, feeling his gift for you hot against your skin.
But your orgasm doesn’t stop, head digging further into his shoulder as he watches your face morph wildly as your climax takes over your body.
“Holy fuck—” as your hand grabs wildly, at the sheets, at Rafe’s shirt, at literally anything to try and steady yourself as your vision goes completely black with pleasure.
Rafe, who’s coming to terms with what you were about to admit to him, yet being so overwhelmed he doesn’t know how go address it grabs the vibrator, beyond desperate.
His face almost looks like he’s about to cry as he rolls over on top of you, giving you a quick passionate kiss, every single emotion on fire as the revelation of your almost confession washes over him.
There’s no way she was going to say that. There’s no way. There’s no way she…he can’t even form the words.
“Let me make you come again, baby. Please.”
Before you can respond, he presses the vibrator to your dripping clit and presses it on, the feeling of it against your already over stimulated sensitive skin makes you shriek, back arching off the mattress.
“Oh my god!”
He watches you squirm, loving the way you’re literally falling apart under him, the need to make you feel good the strongest it’s ever been.
He’s laying over you now, hand glued to the side of your face, as his blue eyes penetrate yours.
“You mean everything to me, you know that right.”
The sounds leaving you are truly barbaric, moans turning to literal screams at his words.
“You know that, right, baby?” He asks again, the vibrator going relentlessly against your clit.
You shake your head furiously but it’s not enough.
“Say it”
“I know!” Your words coming out as actual screams now, choked between waves of pleasure.
“Say it” he’s trembling now too, begging you.
“I mean e-everything to you.” Your head rolls back, vision threatening to blur again as he grips the side of your face, forcing you to look at him again, unwilling to let you look away.
“No.”  The darkness in his voice catches you by surprise, even in this state. “You are my everything, Y/N.”
He watches as a tear breaks free and falls down your face as your whole body begins to shake as he presses the button on the vibrator, not once, not twice but three times as the speed drives you to the point of insanity.
“Holy f-fuuuuuck how are you so good at that Rafe?” You rhetorically yell out.
You catch his little smirk just as he presses a kiss into your jaw.
“Because it’s you.”
Your whole entire world goes to black this time, your body and mind moving at his accord as Rafe watches you come the hardest you ever have, your whole body literally almost convulsing against him as he steadies you, riding it out wave after wave…
He feels you settling down, sticky dripping bodies still nearly glued together, keeping his grip on you iron right as you hear your phone vibrate on the nightstand next to you, not a doubt in your mind who it’s from.
Wheezie Cameron: if I fail this test I stg I’m punching Rafe in the face 🙄
[ GOJO SATORU X READER ]
LYRICS ✰ — Cherry blossoms in spring, the momentary beauty to behold. But black and blue paint your skin, and next spring comes in an endless rue, you wanted to ask — why were the most beautiful flowers, always the ones plucked from its roots? If spring was as blue as the reflection in his eyes, as tides turn like the changes of time; and flowers would wilt in time, like how you were what was left of his last year's spring. This time, came in blue hues, when you flowed like petals off cherry blossom blooms — and just like every other time, you were the last of his spring. and there were no next blooms.
For when winter had ended, spring came too soon, and summer came too late.
