People don't look beautiful because of their looks. They look beautiful because of their perspectives and thoughts. They look beautiful because of the way they treat people, the way they talk about things, the way they care about their loved ones, the way they appreciate art, the way they share their stories and the way they listen to yours. They look beautiful because of the things they do, the songs they listen to, the movies they watch, the books they read and most importantly because of the things they say.

female friendships are so precious and beautiful. sisterhood is so inherent in women. there is a life force where many women are sitting together and conversing. their giggles reverberates through the deepest chambers of the even the coldest of hearts & softens them. when they take care of each other together from oiling their hair turn by turn by to putting henna on each other’s palms, everything is a sacred offering to some source unseen; but only felt. they spend hours talking about things unfathomable from the basis of love to the state of the world, the soul, beauty, last, present & future & many other philosophies. because when they’re sitting in a room together that’s where they’re easily allowed to ‘be’. here, they aren’t someone being smothered by alotted identities. they aren’t just someone’s sister or daughter or even lover, but just humans trying to make the most out of their freedom to breathe.

A Tryst with Mortality (BLURB)
Pleased, the sages ask a young Yuthika to ask for a wish she would want to fulfill. While answering, she accidentally reveals her not-so-secret desire to experience a mortal life on Bhuloka, and the sages immediately bless her.
Witnessing mortality from afar as an almost immortal being is one thing, but experiencing mortality among mortals as an immortal is another. Being semi-divine has a few perks to make life a little easier on earth, but what if one young heart falls in love with a simple mortal, as young as her only in flesh?
The tales of Apsaras loving mortal men are as old as time. Urvashi fought with the Lord of the Heavens for Pururava, but the gods, with their trickery, brought the beautiful damsel back to the heavens.
Shall time repeat the same old tale with Yuthika, or shall love this time find a way to stay?
Is the saying really true that love will always find a way?

The idea: Apsara romance
So, yes, the ones tagged here as well as if in case others want to read this book, ATWM (book ka shortform) will be up on wattpad in a few days.
The blurb is really short, but i thought that if i write more, then I would end up revealing the story. I have the outline in my head, right from the beginning to the end, but i need to fill in. And I am working on other books too.
Actually, I came with with this idea while deciding to go on a small break from Goddesses, Rishikas and Women. I wanted to work on this one from some months before, but i guess, new year new story so here we are..

"....we look up and we hope the stars look down, we pray that there may be stars for us to follow, stars moving across the heavens and leading us to our destiny, but it's only our vanity. We look at the galaxy and fall in love, but the universe cares less about us than we do about it, and the stars stay in their courses however much we may wish upon them to do otherwise. It's true that if you watch the sky-wheel turn for a while you'll see a meteor fall , flame and die. That's not a star worth following; it's just an unlucky rock. Our fates are here on earth. There are no guiding stars."

September seeped into my cells faster than I expected.
And now October is on my doorstep demanding to be welcomed, as if it doesn't know I am still September-ridden.
But how do I keep my heart so open when I know that October too shall leave me.
How do I cope with this cruel change of seasons, when I have not had time to grieve each of my lovers?

National Girl Child Day
For centuries in India, daughters have been worshiped as forms of the goddess Laxmi, while ironically, it is sons who have been regarded as a guarantee for economic security- the source of wealth and prosperity for the family. They are considered the ideal inheritors of one’s accumulated capital. Sons are expected to take care of their aging parents, and carry forward family businesses. Meanwhile parents start preparing for their daughter's 'vidhai' from the moment she is born, concerned about paying dowries, and expecting to ship her off to another home where she will take care of someone else's family. Due to this, many families have not wanted to invest in the care and keeping of a girl child, leading to historically high rates of female infanticide in the Indian subcontinent. With the onset of modern technology, such as ultrasounds, there has also been an increase in female foeticide.
Gender screenings and sex-based abortions have led to unnatural selection through social factors as opposed to physical ones. Generations of these practices have led to an incredibly skewed sex ratio in the country- as per the 2011 census the figures stood at 943 women per 1000 men, reaching as low as 800 in some states. Although a law was put in place to prevent female infanticide in 1870, under British India, it didn’t do much to curtail the practice. An act prohibiting pre-natal sex determination was passed in 1994, which has criminalized this process and helped reduce it to some extent. This has led to the strange concept of reproductive tourism taking rise in India, as citizens travel to countries where sex screenings are not banned to determine what their future holds.
Similarly, the government has started a lot of schemes such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao to increase focus and divert funding towards female education. In the modern world, more and more women are leaving the house to work, a result of families that have prioritized their education. The dependency that families feared from their daughters is no longer as great a cause for concern in many families in urban spaces. However, for many rural or poorer families, a girl child is still considered a curse, as funding her marriage becomes a great source for stress. Alternatively, funding her education is not even considered a viable option as they do not expect to see the return on their investment.
Due to this, National Girl Child Day and other recognitions of women are vital in nations like India, to celebrate the achievements of women and show the citizens that they are just as capable as a man, well worth the time and effort it takes to raise them. Especially when women are born into a society that already presents them with a series of obstacles to achieve success based solely on their gender, celebrating and empowering them from birth is vital to their development and that of the nation.

I looked down at my shadow, moving silently beside me. We take our shadows for granted, don’t we? There they are, the uncomplaining companions of a lifetime, mute and helpless witnesses to our every act of commission or omission.

My Bleach OC
So it took a lot of time to put together. But I did it! My OC for Bleach is finally ready. As always with my OC characters, I pay homage to my South Asian roots in terms of their personality and abilities.
Tumblr media
Name: Keyuri Ramish (she/her)
Age: 30 in human years (~300 in shinigami years?)
Physical Description: 5 feet 6 inches tall, tan skin, long black hair that is often worn back in a braid. Her body is very curvy, falling under a plus size category, close to an hourglass/pear figure. Her waist is narrow, but she has very generous hips and thighs that are quite toned and a full bust. Her figure makes her self-conscious at times. Large brown eyes, thickly lashed, like a doe’s.
Position in Soul Society: She’s the third seat of Division12, captained by Mayuri Kurotsuchi. Her responsibilities mainly deal with the Research and Development team, creating new gadgets to help deal with hollows and other reiatsu anomalies. She also assists on missions remotely by observing shinigami reiatsu signatures on the R&D’s computers when they try to tackle hollows.
Personality: She’s a little reserved, but is a very warm person once she opens up. Very tactile, and expresses her affection through touch. Enjoys reading, writing, and practicing yoga. Observant, sharp, witty, and loves good banter. Gemini, coffee addict, and loves pastries.
Background: Keyuri is of South Indian origin, reborn into a community called South Asian Soul Adminstration (shortened as SASA, basically South Asia’s equivalent of Soul Society). When her parents first noticed her developing strange reiatsu, they admitted her into a temple soul school, where the priests helped her harness and develop her spiritual abilities. But Yamaduta (messengers of death, SASA’s equivalent of Shinigami) are considered as bad omens in their society, so her advisors work to have her transferred to Soul Society, believing it is a better place for her to grow her abilities and also train her zanpakuto correctly. Her zanpakuto itself is quite rare in the soul world (described in detail below)
Zanpakuto Background at SASA:  Zanpakuto souls are not ingrained into a katana at SASA. Zanpakuto spirits are born, through a cycle of birth and rebirth. Once every few years, enough soul energy concentrates to allow the birth of maybe 2-5 zanpakuto. The priests at the school typically take the most talented students of that year to receive their zanpakuto. The students are taken into a separate spirit realm, where they wait in the dark, sometimes for days, until a zanpakuto spirit chooses to be born into their sword. This creates a deep bond, since the soul chooses the Yamaduta its born to. Keyuri waited 2 days before her zanpakuto’s soul came to her. Students that do not get a zanpakuto born on their first try wait years before the next birth can happen. Some SASA Yamadutas never get a soul born to them, and have to work on their other spiritual abilities to make up for not having a zanpakuto. Because of this, Yamaduta zanpakuto are rare, even within SASA.
Keyuri’s Zanpakuto: Her zanpakuto is rare, even in terms of SASA because when her zanpakuto’s soul was reborn, it was the soul of a dying sun god from somewhere in a different solar system. Zanpakuto spirits that are born under such circumstances are called Celestial zanpakuto because it can draw on the energy not only from the Yamaduta, but from all the celestial heavenly bodies, such as the sun, moon, stars, and meteors. Keyuri has admitted multiple times the frustration she faced with her Zanpakuto because there is little information on how to train a Celestial zanpakuto, let alone learn to develop and channel its abilities since they can be highly unpredictable. She admits she has said mean things to her zanpakuto in frustration, only to be hurt when she realizes how hard it was trying to befriend her.
Name: Akashvani (translation: Sky Gift)
Command: Glow, Akashvani
Appearance: Akashvani takes the form of a graceful katar, with a hilt wrapped in fine, royal blue silk embroidered with golden threads. The blade itself gleams with a silvery hue, etched with delicate patterns reminiscent of swirling constellations.
When activated, the blade elongates and emanates a soft, radiant, blue light. The hilt also elongates, giving her better control for attacking.
Shikai main abilities:
Starlight Strike
A trail of stars begins to emanate from the blade and can be controlled at will. It’s impossible to count how many stars are present at any given time, but they glow as they move, creating a beautiful sight to see. Each individual star in the trail can grow to be over 4000 degrees Celsius, effectively burning and melting anything caught in it’s way. The stars glow brighter when they come into contact with an object and start to heat up, in some cases, creating a blinding glow where no one can see what’s happening.
2. Phantom Eclipse
Mimics a lunar eclipse, creating shadows at strategic attack points. Keyuri can use the shadows to blast the enemy with the moon’s energy, dealing close range damage.
3. Radiance Shield
Constructs a protective barrier infused with the warmth and strength of solar energy. This shield absorbs incoming attacks while radiating a rejuvenating warmth that heals minor wounds of allies within its range.

Transient aren't his affections towards me,
Of all, he is the faithful lover, my friend. Must I deceive his love by harbouring mistrust in my heart?
His heart is devoted to mine and so equally is mine to his.

Wash away your concerns, sakhi, my lover is all true to me in every way.
I have been made truly happy. No pretense he hides under his actions nor does he play with words to win my heart. Must you worry now?
A moment away from him feels like an eternity away from him. As I sit here, I am reminded of his tender touches when he soothes me during upsetting nights.
I blush under his playful gaze when he twirls the ends of my scarf. There is joy with him and around him. I no longer think what will people say when I laugh unbashedly with him in public.
Often I wonder when have I ever been this happy before. My dearest companion, abandon your doubts away, I have found a worthy partner.

I have back to back 3 tests in this weekend with Monday so all the best to me. I hope you enjoy this
Also the same nayika is called swadhinapatika nayika lekin meko chull thi yeh thoda difficult naam use krne ki toh try pronouncing it. Good luck!
And the gifs are from Savitha Sastry's Chains, a live production bharatanatyam drama.
Shit I forgot what this nayika means for non dancers. So this nayika (even though it is mentioned in the header) this nayika has a lover who is completely faithful to her. There are examples of padams or in simple words if you pick out ancient Indian poetry you will see examples of poems where the female is talking about her lover to a friend saying how he makes her happy and praises his good qualities similar to what even happens now just that we dance and show it

FOR ALL YOU MAHABHARAT FANS/ WITCH LOVERS/ ASTROLOGY BITCHES/ PEOPLE WHO FOUND THE ZODIAC ACADEMY'S ACADEMY COOL (not the characters) / MYTHOLOGY LOVERS, I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE TO YOU:
The Story of the Zodiacs!
It's a story which me my friends are working on our shared ao3 account, thetrio_writes, and I would love for you all to come and see the first chapter and give us tips and tell us what you want to see!
It's still in the making, but it's a fic I definitely plan on completing since it will be something i share with my hostages friends.
it's not much of adventure or things like that, just a lot of romance, fluff, magic, and laughter! + mythical beasts too!
it's a college setting with three main characters based on the three of au and is heavily concentrated on hindu mythology with greek, norse, egyptian, and roman mythology (the reasons the others aren't given will be explained in ch 2!)
we'll try to make it as diverse as we can while it still fits the plot!
oh, and we have polyamorous characters, aroace characters, and obviously, indian characters!
Updates will be slow for now since we're a bit busy but you can expect more after the 6th or 7th of this month!
I hope everyone who sees this at least takes a peek at it and chooses to reblog it too!

The skeletons in my closet,
So often talk of me going unloved,
Being touched yet not felt,
And understood only for fragile seconds,
That I have forgotten,
How to love,
How to understand,
Or how to feel anything when i hold your hand.
