🗒️: first time writing! ☺️ I love malleus as a character but I never thought of him romantically so if this comes off like that then 🙇‍♀️ please forgive me

After a long day of dealing with shenanigans by other students(mainly Ace, Deuce and Grim) what would you think be a relaxing way to end the day?

Maybe a good nights rest would benefit you after such a busy day? What if you simply took a calming walk outside of the doors of ramshackle?

Well whatever you thought about wouldn’t compare to the… confusing situation you have on your hands right now.

It started out normally..

Well, as normal as seeing a future dragon king pacing back and forth outside your dorm… again.

And because you were too awake to fall asleep, you figured it wouldn’t hurt to see what was possibly wrong, and besides, he’s your lover! It’s your sworn duty to help ease his worries as he does for you.

You got up from your bed, slipped on your cartoonish ‘who goes there’ type slippers and went out the door quietly.

“Horton!” You called out to him, with no response, as you got closer you called out again,

“Malleus? What’s wron…”

“…” He turned to you with a small frown on his face, Gao Gao Drakon Kun™ in his cupping hands.

“…Malleus did you break ‘him?” You asked as you got close enough to him, looking down at the tamagotchi, the screen showing a…

Oh..

“I can’t get him back.” His frown turned into a pout as he helplessly stares at the small dragon flying in the sky with angel wings on the screen, complete with an annoying beep every two seconds.

“Let me try something.” You said as you suddenly picked up the small device and pressed the A and C buttons.

“there, that’s him right?” You placed the tamagotchi back in his still cupped hands, the screen now showing a little egg instead.

“…Yes,” The man leaned in and kissed your cheek.

“Thank you.” He stated softly, though you could see the meter of his admiration peaking as he pressed a couple buttons, the smile on his face was small, yes, but it was also so genuine it was almost adorable.

“should I escort you to bed now dear? It’s quite late.” He asked as he put his pet in his pocket, now his attention was fully on you.

“Oh, uhm, yes! If you don’t have anything important tomorrow then you should stay tonight- with me, in bed- sleeping.”

“…”

“…Of course, who am I to deprive my lover of affection?” The smug expression on his face showing the amusement he’s getting from the way your cheeks were now dusted with a small blush.

“Alright then follow me this way, m’lady.” You teased slightly as you took his hand in yours.

You ended up sleeping with grim sandwiched in between the two of you.

🗒️: I’m reading a manga called “Yona of the Dawn” and I’m already 15 volumes in, I want Su-Won so bad.

and Tae-Jun. he was so pathetic but now he’s trying his best. (*´∇｀*)

don’t keep your feelings to yourself if you let me i’ll treasure all the things you tell if you let me, if you let me

It wasn’t very often that people outside of Diasomnia wished him a happy birthday; in fact, it wasn’t often that anyone outside of his inner circle spoke to him, if not for common courtesy.

As he grew older, his disdain for his birthday also grew, and while Lilia attempted to celebrate every year, Malleus usually opposed such parties. However, ever since he began attending Night Raven College, his birthday has become…tolerable, at best. And after meeting you, it seems his birthday this year is on it’s way to being the best one he’s had since he was a young fae.

The day started as any other, he attended his classes, had lunch with his fellow dorm members, unsuspecting of any surprise party that may be held in his honor. Of course, you were invited. Actually, you’re the one that had come up with the idea.

You had walked up to Lilia about a week before Malleus’ birthday, telling him that you wanted to do something for Malleus. He apologetically tells you that the dragon fae isn’t exactly fond of these parties, as people only show up due to his royal status and not because they genuinely want to be there-of course, except the Diasomnia students…and now, you.

Lilia gives your arm a squeeze to comfort you, at least for the disappointment in being told to not plan anything for Malleus. If anything, you could always ask Malleus to meet you somewhere one on one. But you’re stubborn if anything else, and are determined to plan somewhat of a decent party for him…at least with his close circle as guests.

And so throughout the week, and with the help of others, you were able to put together a decent party. Cater helped with the set up, Trey came through with a birthday cake, and you were able to force Ace and Deuce to basically help with everything else. If you had asked Azul and the Leech twins for help, god knows what you would’ve owed in return. So Ace and Deuce had to suffice…and Grim.

And now, the day of Malleus’ birthday, you’re trying to decide if giving him two gifts is overdoing it. It’s not like the gifts are a big deal, you can’t exactly give him anything pricey and luxurious, so you hope the tamagotchi style game is enough. Your eyes slide over to the small, potted gardenias on your nightstand. Is it too much?

You huff out an exasperated sigh, cracking your knuckles as you stare back and forth between both gifts. Are the flowers too much? Forget that, is the message too much? You’re almost sure that Malleus has feelings for you, at least, that’s what you think based on his behavior around you . Any guy could walk you back to your dorm, but no guy stalls the way he does, hoping to keep you at his side just a little longer.

His gaze always lingers longer than publicly appropriate, and he finds the oddest excuses to see you, as opposed to asking his dorm members for help. He quite literally goes out of his way to be around you, and yet you wonder that if you show him how you feel, he’ll reject you. That is, he has to know the meaning behind white gardenias first. If he doesn’t, then you can just come up with any excuse as to why you’re giving him flowers.

You put both gifts into a gift bag, adding tissue paper to make the gift presentable and head into the lounge, where Malleus’ close friends are already gathered. Cater walks up to you, and while he’s not Malleus’ close friend, he is yours, which warrants an invite.

“I’ll take that,” Cater says as he reaches out to swipe the gift in your hand.

You take a step back, smile on your face as you shake your head. “No you won’t, because I’m giving Malleus the gift-personally.”

Cater holds his hands up in faux surrender as he steps back, a knowing smile on his face, which does little to ease your nerves.

Sebek begins to yell, startling you. “Everyone! Lilia is on his way with Malleus! Get in positions!!”

Now usually, you’d say something snarky in return because someone needs to get him off his high-horse, but you choose to ignore that urge today; you’re far too nervous to do anything except mull over what you’ll say to Malleus.

Everyone begins to hide as the lights are turned off, your knuckles probably turning white as you hold onto the gift tightly in your crouched position behind the couch. Suddenly, your breathing is too loud and the lounge is too cramped. All too soon you hear muffled voices coming from outside, which become clearer as Lilia lets Malleus in.

“Lilia, why are we entering the dorm without being permitted entrance? You’re not one to let yourself in.”

All Lilia offers in return is a smile as he leads Malleus out of the entry hall and into the lounge. Someone in the room flicks the lights on and everyone takes it as their cue to jump out of their hiding spots. Confetti poppers pop and people cheer, a somewhat cohesive shout of Happy Birthday resounds as Malleus stands there in shock. He’s quick to compose himself as he thanks the guests, saving you for last.

He makes the rounds as swiftly as possible, pulling you aside to a more secluded part of the room so he can speak to you in a semblance of privacy.

“Did you do this for me, child of man?”

You nod, gift still clutched in your grasp. “I did. Well, it wasn’t just me. I had help.”

He quirks an eyebrow, “but you planned this, yes?”

You nod again. “Yeah…and before you get upset or anything because I know how you feel about birthdays, I was hoping this would change your mind.” You rock back and forth on the balls of your feet, nerves creeping in as he intently stares at you.

He peeks around you, eyeing the gift you have behind your back. “Is that for me?”

You hold it out in front of you, a hand underneath the bag to keep it from ripping-although it shouldn’t because you paid good money for a pretty bag that would hold the plant. “I was hoping I could give it to you privately.” You desperately hope you’re not blushing, especially because you haven’t given him the gift yet.

With the commotion of the party, you both are able to slip out of the dorm easily, walking along the path you two usually take during your nightly strolls. Once you spot a bench, you motion in it’s direction, leading the way to it soon after.

It’s a pleasant evening, the weather isn’t too cool nor too warm, and yet you’re sweating. Were you really this nervous? Malleus waits for you to take a seat first before sitting down himself and turns his body so that he’s facing you.

Shakily, you hand him the gift with both hands. Malleus’ left hand brushes against yours as he replaces your careful hold on the bag. As your hands touch, you flit your gaze toward his to catch his reaction and are rewarded with nothing but a slight grin. He usually wears his heart on his sleeve; when he’s mad he resolves to using magic instead of talking out his problems, and when he’s sad, he sulks and claims he’s not upset.

But around you, he’s hard to read. Or maybe you’re just incredibly oblivious. Malleus continues to stare at you intently, waiting patiently for you to say something, only for it to take you a few seconds to realize you hadn’t pulled your hands away. Malleus’ hands gently hover over yours, a warm look in his eyes as he waits. You blink, startled, as you pull your hands away. “Sorry.”

Malleus shakes his head, a fond smile gracing his features. “You need not apologize.”

It’s your turn to sit patiently as you wait for him to open the bag. And so he does. He takes in a deep breath as he pulls out the handheld game, eyes widening, lips parting in surprise.

You lean slightly forward, waiting for him to say something. He smiles, sharp canines on display as his grin grows wider. “My companion will no longer feel lonely, thanks to you.” He sets it down in his lap, carefully, then takes out the potted flowers. Holding it up in the palm of a hand, he tilts his head slightly to the left.

You suck your bottom lip between ur teeth, worried he won’t understand the underlying message you’re trying to get across. “Do they not have gardenias in Briar Valley?” Your voice comes out strained, not realizing you’ve been holding your breath as you wait for his reaction.

“If we do, I have never seen such flowers. They are quite fragrant.” He says softly after smelling the gardenias. “And beautiful. They’re much like yourself.”

You sit up straighter, not expecting such an outright compliment. “Oh…thank you.” You give him a tight lipped smile as you continue to wait on his response. He’s quick to notice your expecting something.

“Am I missing something, child of man?”

You twiddle your thumbs as you debate on whether or not you should tell him about the meaning behind the flowers. “Do you…do you know the meaning behind these flowers, Malleus?”

He smiles upon hearing you speak his name; there’s no other sound he’s most fond of except for your voice. “I’m afraid not.”

“Well,” you start as you fidget in your spot, trying to find a comfortable position, “these flowers are- they mean-“ you breathe out a sigh, not sure how you should say this. “The flowers are meant to show that someone has feelings for you…like a secret crush.”

He ponders this for a moment, gaze shifting from the flowers toward you. “There are many things one could feel for another. Do you mean platonic feelings?”

You want to scream, really. He’s dragging this out and honestly it could be for his own amusement. He could be fighting to suppress a sly grin, feigning naivety. You shake your head, not trusting your voice.

He pushes forward. “Then?” He tilts his head to the left again, studying you. “What kind of feelings, child of man?”

You inhale, and on your exhale you rush out the word romantic. He carefully puts the gifts in the bag and sets it aside, inching closer. The old bench creaks as he shifts his weight. You hadn’t realized it had darkened, but as he moves closer you can see the moon’s light reflecting off Malleus’ horns. He tucks a few strands of your hair behind your ear, his hand then cupping your cheek as a knowing smile finds its way across his lips. Despite his cold demeanor, his hands are warm, and you find yourself moving closer to him.

“Shall I take this as a confession?” His breath fans across your cheeks as he leans closer, his personal space becoming yours.

Your breath hitches as you try to find the words to answer him. “If you want it to be.”

He holds your chin between his thumb and forefinger, tilting your head up so he can meet your gaze. “Is that what you want it to be?” You both are talking barely above a whisper, too afraid to disrupt the peaceful silence that had descended, save for a few crickets.

You barely nod and are sure he doesn’t notice, but he does. Malleus knows a lot about you-more than you probably think. Most believe him to be somewhat aloof, but he’s very observant when he wants to be.

One hand moves to the back of your head, pulling you close. You’re expecting a hug, until you feel his lips press a gentle kiss to your forehead while his other arm wraps around you. “I was hesitant about this birthday, not expecting much.” He admits as he speaks into the air behind you, your upper body still pressed against his. He pulls back so he can look at you, arms dropping to take both your hands in his. “You have proven that I can enjoy birthdays and that certain gifts can make one incredibly happy. You have changed my mind.”

You smile. It’s more relaxed this time, the nerves you felt a few moments ago having dissipated. “So, you liked the gift then?”

He nods approvingly. “It is the best gift I have had the pleasure of receiving.”

“Which of the two?” You ask.

His smile only grows wider, and you’re proud at the fact that he hasn’t stopped smiling this entire time.

“You.”

MALLEUS DRACONIA

such a device was...curious. because it was kind of like his tamagotchi. but it wasn’t exactly like it. it was a smart phone that he could touch and there was access to wifi.

“is this run by magic?” malleus asks you as he scrolls through the internet.

“no. it’s run by a battery much like your tamagotchi.”

“oh i see...how interesting.” he raised his eyebrows as he looked at an image. “what could this be?”

“okay! that’s enough scrolling time for you. would not wanna radicalize you on reddit.”

LILIA VANROUGE

“malleus would love this!” was his first response when he saw your phone. “he would be into a lot of your human things since he likes the simpler stuff.”

“do you still use this?”

“yeah of course i do.” you answer. “it’s still working. besides it also means i can check up on people in my home world.”

“i see, i see. what’s tik tok?”

“oh it’s a video app.” you wouldn’t expect lilia to be scrolling for hours after that.

RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS

riddle probably had limited access to technology when he was younger. so he didn’t use his normal phone often. seeing your phone was kind of no different aside from all the different apps.

“instagram? is that your version of magicam?”

“yeah it is!” you lean closer as he scrolls through.

“that would be for cater...” he hands you the phone. “cool device. but i think i’ll stick to my own phone.”

“riddle you barely use your own phone.”

VIL SCHOENHEIT

“hmmm...vintage.” he looked at the phone. compared to the other devices, it wasn’t as advanced. it ran a lot slower too. “oh my. youtube?”

“it’s a video sight. they have a lot of videos i think you would like.” you immediately pulled up your beauty playlist.

“huh...my, my, she’s quite beautiful. who is this?” and he pointed to a very familiar face. “and who is this?”

“jackie aina. the best beauty blogger! and that’s james charles. don’t watch any of his videos. i know you would find the way he does makeup atrocious and his voice also atrocious.”

“i will take your word for it.”

LEONA KINGSCHOLAR

there wasn’t much to pique leona’s interest. he’s not too interested in technology, mostly because he’s sleeping more than being online (maybe that’s why his mental health was better than yours since he wasn’t on social media).

but the memes on the other hand? that was something that piqued his interest.

“you like kittens don’t you?” you ask with a smirk on your face.

“i mean...yeah i guess. this orange cat reminds me of cheka.” he gestures to a video of an orange cat...well, being an orange cat.

“i’m very interested in these animal facts. i didn’t know octopi apparently punched fish because they felt like it!” you may have realized introducing azul to netflix was a bad idea. and candy crush. he managed to beat the first 1000 levels within two days.

“a service that has every single movie and tv show on it. i mean we have our own versions but the coral sea doesn’t exactly have internet.” azul was busy taking notes. “though these layouts could be used to improve the current ones.”

“azul stop thinking business. just relax.” you smile.

“well then i guess we can watch some disney+.”

“and this is getting too meta.” you took your phone away.

KALIM AL-ASIM

kalim’s into the memes and the vines. you regret showing him vines especially because now he’s just spouting out famous vines whenever he gets the chance to.

“two bros sitting in a hot tub five feet apart ‘cus they’re not gay!” he sings as he cooks.

honestly, idia could care less about the internet and whatever possibilities it has. because this type of technology doesn’t exist. and much to your disappointment, he takes your phone apart.

“idia! can you put my phone back together and give it back? please!” you whine.

he shoves a flash drive into your hand. “here’s everything from your phone. i think maybe i can incorporate some of this technology into ortho-”

“i don’t think that will work idia.”

“never say never. i can make anything work.”

oc deep dive questionnaire - dhes edition

-what common/uncommon fear do they have? tbh, there's not much that scares Dhes. when he was younger, he feared rejection, but that fear has lessened significantly as he's gotten older & become more comfortable with himself

-do they have any pet peeves? he's pretty particular about housekeeping, so his biggest pet peeves tend to be related to that. but he especially hates when Kelly leaves his shoes lying around instead of putting them away (bc Dhes *always* trips over them lol)

-what are 3 items you can find in their bedroom? CDs (lots of CDs), a tamagotchi (he brings it to work. it never stays alive long), & notes that he & Kel wrote back & forth to each other during class throughout their teen years

-what do they notice first in a person? whether or not they look directly at him/look him in the eyes

-on a scale of 1-10, how high is their pain tolerance? probably 8 or 9

-do they go into fight or flight mode when under pressure? fight - Dhestyn's a fighter through & through

-do they come from a big family/are they a family person? his family is pretty average, size-wise. his family dynamic is very eccentric, so whether or not he's a "family person" is kind of a complicated answer. he's not particularly close with anyone in his immediate family, but he does talk to them & visit them often

-what animal represents them best? a dog - generally, he's very friendly & loyal, but in the right circumstances, he does tend to bite

-what is a smell that they dislike? burning meat

-have they broken any bones? if so, how? several, mostly his fingers & wrists though. he's broken them in skateboarding accidents, during fights with other kids when he was in middle/high school, & by simply making poor decisions due to his reckless nature :-)

-how would a stranger likely describe them? i actually kind of explained this on his character page, but to sum it up people tend to see Dhes as either very charming or very unsavory

-are they a night owl or a morning bird? both! Dhes has a horrific sleep schedule. he'll regularly stay up until 1-2am & he wakes up at 5 o'clock every morning. though if he had to choose one, he prefers mornings

-what is a flavor they hate and a flavor they love? he really likes cinnamon. he's not a big fan of seafood.

-do they have any hobbies? yes! skateboarding, hacky sack, making playlists & listening to music, working out (weights/jogging), fashion (read: "fashion"), & ruining his hair, to name a few.

-boom, surprise birthday party! how do they react to surprises? Dhestyn always appreciates a nice surprise

-do they like to wear jewelry? if so, what is their favorite piece? yes, the man loves to accessorize. his favorite piece of "jewelry" is actually a necklace Kel gave to him when they were fifteen - it's a simple black cord with one of Kel's old guitar picks on it.

-do they have neat or messy handwriting? somewhere in the middle - it's legible, at least.

-what are two emotions they feel the most? love & anger

-do they have a favorite fabric? not particularly, no

-what kind of accent do they have? standard PNW accent when speaking English, though occasionally he'll have hints of a more Mexican-American accent, which he picked up from his mom's side of the family

Chapter 7 part 2 thoughts

Consider me shook y’all, this is not what I wanted my first post on sirens cove to be but chapter 7 has grabbed me by the throat. I’ll be breaking down my thoughts into

𝕺𝖛𝖊𝖗𝖆𝖑𝖑 𝖙𝖍𝖔𝖚𝖌𝖍𝖙𝖘

This chapter made me cry and fear for the characters. I love that we finally got some lore about the fae, knowing malleus is still considered a child in the eyes of fae cause he becomes a adult when he turns a thousand. Another thing is we finally got Lilia actual age, he is 700 years old and he explains that he’s kind of fae live to 1000 but because of his reckless past he now dying earlier.

Seeing Silver yell and cry was shocking to say, although my favorite character I never expected him to show such a outburst since he never did that in any of the stories he showed up in. It hurt hearing him blame himself for what is happening to Lilia and that he couldn’t do more to help.

I love the Sebek character development and Lilia getting on his ass about not liking humans, basically he told Sebek to cool it and asked the first years to look after him once he [Lilia] leaves the school.

𝕿𝖍𝖊𝖔𝖗𝖎𝖊𝖘

I know the time loop theory is huge in the twst community, but I don’t believe its going to happen. My theory is that we are stuck in a endless dream where we get everything we want, since Malleus does tell us “we well all be heroes of the fairytale” at the end of the chapter. So I think we are all stuck in our own separate dreams basically being “rebirthed” into a new world.

But I do agree with the theory of Idia and Leona “saving” the day. Idia wasn’t in diasomnia when the cruse was casted and as far as I know the curse only made people in the dorm fall asleep and everyone else on sage island. Note every dorm is its own mini world and since Idia was in his dorm when the curse was casted it didn’t effect him.

Now onto Leona as stated Leona probably knows when he is dreaming (this was pointed out in the English version of chapter 6) So if anything Leona probably will figure out that he is dreaming and try to find a way out of it. It also helps the Leona best subjects is ancient magic/curses and it was never told if the curse was Malleus’s UM, so that's another plot point.

𝕸𝖆𝖑𝖑𝖊𝖚𝖘

There is not enough words in this world to describe what my thoughts on this man is but I will try my best. Malleus overblot design has to be one of my favorites he legit looks like the mistress of evil herself and I am living for it.

But I don’t think he fully overblotted since his voice sounded normal and the phantom wasn’t speaking through him, he also seems fully aware that he overblotted and doesn’t really care. He just wants everyone to be happy and safe (the yandere vibes I swear)

I think what makes me laugh about all of this that he got this idea from the fucking Tamagotchi, since every thirty days the pet files away leaving a egg for Malleus to look after and raise and the cycle repeats which gives Malleus the idea of “rebirth” tied in with the fact Silver was crying to him about how worthless he felt.

I am I saying Malleus feels reasonable for other peoples happiness, most likely that's one thing he feels but also that he doesn’t want to be lonely again cause remember he had such a lonely childhood. Although I didn’t think he would overblot 30 chapters into chapter 7 you know.

Side note: I fucking love his humming of a twisted version of “once upon a dream” at the end of the chapter. Its creepy and gives the vibes that we might not be able to defeat him alone, overall it hits all the right spots.

Some little hcs I have since I still don't have anything to post yet (sorry) (also this is for my mod au)

Reasons why Stede is Izzy's favourite:

He always says 'I love you". Ed loves him too, obviously, but Stede is a much more vocal person. Izzy understands that Ed shows his love through different ways, but he really likes the way Stede goes on and on about all his happy lovey feelings for Izzy

He gets Izzy all sorts of things. Izzy isn't very materialistic, but when he's small he loves having all different kinds of things, a soother for every situation, clothes for his toys, new fun games for the tv, and Stede loves to spoil his baby

Stede loves to entertain Izzy. Reading Izzy a bedtime story is his favourite nightly activity, and he's often rather sad when Izzy isn't staying over and his story books so untouched. He loves to turn on Izzy's favourite shows and ask him how it is; 'Are you liking this?' 'Does she sound nice?' 'Would you ever do that?' 'Are you smart like them?'

The way Stede cuddles him. Stede has experience with children, and knows what makes them feel safe and protected (and in this case, what makes them feel smaller). He'll lay down with Izzy and pull him up onto his chest, holding him and patting his hair, rubbing his back as he nestles into Stede's chest.

Reasons why Ed is Izzy's favourite:

He gives Izzy more juice - literally. Stede always fills his sippy cups with watered down juice (20% juice 80% water), but Ed always just gives him the full juice, wrangling a hyper izzy in secret so that stede doesn't find out he gave their baby more juice than he could handle

He plays with izzy - Stede likes to play with Izzy, definitely, but Ed is by far the best at it. He loves to build towers for Izzy to knock down, loves figuring out whatever story Izzy has going with his teddies and joining in, loves sitting Izzy up on his lap and playing some 'child friendly' games on his PC (I feel like Izzy would like tamagotchi type games, like where you look after a dog, or just likes sitting in Ed's lap while he plays Minecraft and makes baby commentary)

The way Ed cuddles him. Ed, who slips himself, knows the importance of a good squish. He'll slide into Izzy's bed and wrap him up in arms, holding him tight to his chest and squishing Izzy with his cheek as he squeezes him from all sides. The squishing isn't limited to sleepy time though, Ed will scoop Izzy up from wherever he may be and hold him tight, squeezing tighter around his sides to hear his squeaky giggles

Ed can read him. Ed's known Izzy for more than half of his life, it would be odd if he couldn't read him well by now. He's good at understanding Izzy's nonverbal cues, knows when he's actually angry or just cranky because he didn't sleep well, knows when he needs space versus whether he's just too warm for a cuddle at the moment

Gus an absolute icon for keeping up that illusion for so long while also kicking ass

Luz thought of a way to kill two birds with one stone: protecting Hunter by keeping him away from Belos, and helping Eda by being taken to her. But now she's alone heading directly to the emperor

she is so selfless but girllll be safe

she still has her palisman egg and her glyphs of course

and so we end with this ominous shot

what is it with second to last episodes and the blood moon lately? and the way both matched the recent blood moon eclipse is pretty wild ngl

so I assume Amity, Willow, Gus, Hunter, King and Alador will head to the uh, the head, but they'll get there later. hopefully not too late

though I am scared for King being anywhere near there given the whole thing with the Collector... oh, next week will be INSANE

It'll be sad to say goodbye to the Owl House for the time being, but I know it'll deliver a crazy season finale. oof, can't wait

Thoughts on “Clouds on the Horizon”

It’s been a while since I’ve done a review (school amirite 🙃), but this was such a huge episode that I have to cover it. So much went down!

We start off the episode with Belos anticipating “The Day of Unity” and the Collector taunting him about his past and all his decisions. Their relationship is very unique. They don’t necessarily like each other, but they know they need each other in order to accomplish their goals. I hope we can get more scenes with them before the series ends.

Kikimora being demoted to an airship pilot is hilarious 😂

This episode does not let us forget that Odalia runs the show in the Blight household. We see that she is manipulative to both her husband and her kids to make them follow her every word. And she has had enough of Amity’s “rebellious streak.”

It’s understandable to keep the secret of “King being a Titan” between the five of them. It will make the reveal next episode so much better 👌🏾

Wow. Eda is the key to this mission’s success. She has the most experience with her curse and is the best person to corrupt the spell. Edalyn Clawthorne is once again putting her life on the line for the greater good.😭 *I share Raine’s feelings tho*

This moment that we get to share with Luz, King and Eda before they go their separate ways is so important and made me tear up. We started with these characters and have seen them grow so much. They are not the same people they were in the beginning of the series and that’s what makes this show so beautiful. However, with this scene, I can’t help but feel a sense of dread coming their way. Like it’s the last time, we will see these characters this way every again 😥

Luz’s tiny ponytail 🥰❤️. That is all I have to say about that.

And she has her palisman and she wants it to make it’s own form!! 👏🏾👏🏾

“Titan, help us” LMAO. Come on Darius, “The CATS” is an awesome battle cry 😂

Love that Luz and Hunter have something to relate to when it comes to their trauma concerning what occurred in “Hollow Minds.” We see that the whole Phillip situation still bothers Luz, just as much as Hunter hates that fact that he is a Grimwalker

Love how much the twins have changed since their introduction in the series. I really appreciate how their character development occurred behind the scenes or in the background. They went from trying to humiliate Amity any chance they could, to actually being there for her during difficult times.

Like giving Luz and Amity their privacy 😏

This hug and embrace😊😊🥰🥰😚

There’s so much I want to say about this scene, but I think everyone else has expressed how I feel about this scene already. I’m so happy we got this moment for both of them, especially as this series is drawing to close. I just know that Dana and her crew had to fight for this moment to be animated and shown to the world. AND on DISNEY no less. EXCELLENT JOB GUYS!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Side Note: The animation during this scene was phenomenal. Loved their expressions! 👌🏾

Amity confronting Odalia is all I needed to see to show that she has completed her character development. The show did not go into this too much, but ever since the show began, you can tell that Amity was being stifled by her family’s expectations, especially her mother’s. It’s very satisfying to see her stand up for herself and change her perspective on life.

“Don’t you talk to my girlfriend like that!”-It’s the way Amity shut down that disrespect immediately with no hesitation. We love to see it. 👏🏾👏🏾

“We’ll find you a new girlfriend. Someone who is not on wanted posters everywhere.”-Well at least she’s not homophobic.🤷🏾‍♀️ But that’s not saying much about Odalia.

You think Xiao resembles a cat. A cute, quiet, lonely stray without an owner. You witness his quirks when he stops by at the convenience store: how he always purchases the bare minimum because it feels like he’s deliberately trying to skip meals by filling the void with sweet bread and pudding. That won’t happen when he’s with you. You’ll make sure he eats well. Or how when the two of you meet eyes and he stares for a few seconds longer, as if entranced by some part of you. Or when he follows you from a distance, wearing dark colors, hood up, and a surgical mask to don some form of anonymity to excuse the fact that his actions—that this blatant stalking—is wrong and invasive.

You’re not sure why you’re drawn to him or why he’s so drawn to you. If he’s meant to be a poisonous plant, then you are simply the insect that has been ensnared in his flowery, yet silent charms. It’s cute when he follows after you like a hungry cat. As if he’s a stray who only recognizes the one who feeds him. In a way you do feed him. You make him feel validated—seen. You strike up cheesy conversations with him to pull him out of his shell—to get him to molt his lonely skin and spread his wings so that he can fly right into the trap that is your heart.

Maybe it’s wrong to obsess over him to this extent. To want to lock him away inside a world where he’s happy and safe. Where he won’t have to look so gloomy whenever he walks into the store. You’ll care for him in the way one cares for a Tamagotchi: doting, gentle, and sweet. Always making sure to feed and bathe him so he won’t wither like those virtual pets in their sad and restrictive virtual worlds. Maybe you don’t actually love him and simply want to care for him as if he was your actual pet. Maybe you just want someone to rely on you so that you can give them all of the attention they deserve.

Because without you he has nothing. No food. No water. Certainly not a comfortable bed or a nice roof to sleep under. And like a Tamagotchi he’ll shrivel up and die and you’ll be forced to find a new virtual pet to care for if that ever happens. But this isn’t a world inside a game. This is the real world and with it comes real consequences and people. You can compare Xiao to a Tamagotchi all you want; it’s not going to gloss over the fact that he’s a living being who deserves better than cheap bread or an exhausting office job.

You’ve looked him up on social media. No luck. He’s not on any platforms. He lives as if he’s been off of the grid his entire life. That’s probably for the best. If he has a phone, does he even use it? It doesn’t seem like he has many friends either. That can’t be good. Who will he call when danger strikes? But maybe he wants to be sought after. Or maybe he doesn’t and he has his own reasons for doing things. For showing such obvious interest in you, does he think you won’t notice? Facial expressions tell a lot. So does body language. And even though Xiao may seem like a blank slate you know how to truly read him. You do it nearly every day when you stand behind the register and observe.

That’s why you do what you do. It doesn’t matter what his past was like or what reason he has for always being alone, clinging to your presence as if you’re the only one he knows in this world. And you like it that way. So it’s okay when you stalk him, photographing his every movement. You fawn over him too much, and taking photos is the best way to immortalize his best moments.

Although you do like conversation. Even when he’s speaking, he has a way of captivating you.

“Hey there, stalker,” you say as you lean forward on the countertop, a grin pulling your lips apart when Xiao bristles at the word. “Just kidding. I noticed you were looking at that bread. It’s good. You should get it.”

He nods and his grip on the package tightens ever so slightly.

“You come in here a lot. Is it to see my lovely face? If so I’m flattered.”

His already angry face morphs into a deep scowl and you let out a gentle laugh. If you were anyone else, you might’ve been cowed into silence. But you notice the tiny blush. You notice the way his eyes dart. Does he even realize how cute he is? You really wish he was just a Tamagotchi in this moment because then your obsession would be justified. It wouldn’t be weird. Just a simple fascination with a simple virtual pet. You could take care of him with ease and not have to worry about any of the repercussions that come with it.

“Nothing of that sort,” he mutters, avoiding eye contact, and your heart flutters. He’s really adorable when he denies it.

Small scenario aside, I like to imagine that yan!reader knew far more about Xiao even before he started stalking them. Curiosity got the best of them when they noticed him on the train and they ended up following him to his final stop. Turns out he doesn’t live too far from where the reader works. They start to stalk him to the best of their abilities, following after him when he’s leaving the station and making excuses to their roommates when they ask why the reader has started staying out so late. Even traveling into the city to admire his workplace and possibly catch a glance of Xiao in formal attire.

Xiao’s yan characterization is very different from yan!reader’s characterization! So I think depending on who was kidnapped first it would be a similar reaction from either person. If Xiao kidnapped you first and you were happy to have gotten kidnapped, he would be relieved to know that you won’t put up a fight. And he won’t have to hide you away in the closet when he’s gone; it works out perfectly and he won’t treat them as harshly as he does to the original reader in Bittersweet. But if the reader kidnapped Xiao first, he might be a little confused. Like, you actually think he’s someone worth kidnapping? :O He’s surprised but not upset about it.

To sum up the roles they would play: The Xiao in Bittersweet is more of a protector when it comes to the reader. Yan!reader would be seen as more of a caretaker; they want to care for and dote on Xiao while he simply exists to be cute.

DOCTOR WHO The Flux - Chapter 3: Once, Upon Time

[WARNING: HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD]

THAT WAS THE BEST EPISODE SO FAR. Absolutely brilliant ! I took so many notes.

BEL AND VINDER

I absolutely adored Bel. Her sass and her courage and her voice. Her dedication and her love. Then the reveal that she is Vinder's love and she's pregnant ! I might have cry. Totally rooting for these two ! My favourite Bel lines: "Yeah? Convert this." and "Love is the only mission. Idiot." GIRL SASSED CYBERMEN AND GOT AWAY. Also she has a Tamagotchi. I love this. She's a badass good girl and she's sassy and funny and she's not afraid, even in the face of the universe disintegrating around her.

She's not afraid of Daleks, she's not afraid of Cybermen, and she's gentle. Full of love. She is brilliant.

Vinder is a badass good boy and I love him, he's so much more interesting than what I thought he would ! His storyline, his timestream, does something that I always find excellent : give us a glimpse of how the universe looks like on other planets. Other political regimes, societies, ruling dictators... And yet, the same thing across all of space : doing the right thing is often times difficult, even impossible and yet worth it. He tried to do the best thing, he tried to be the whistle blower, to be decent and honourable, and he didn't succeed. But he tried and he stayed true to his values and principles - "I swore an oath to our constitution, not one person" - and that makes him a very good person.

Also, Vinder seems to understand what's going on when he's lost reliving his past, AND he knows what a Tardis has. He is brilliant.

Really, really rooting for these two to find each other again across all of time and space, even if the universe is breaking apart. They deserve their soft epilogue.

TIME AND THE DOCTOR

So many things to say! Where should I start?

Doctor!Jo! We're discovering bits and pieces of the Doctor's lost past, and it's really fascinating to realize that she must be so old, she must have had so many lives, she must have been involved in so many important events! What was the Division? What was Karvanista doing there and who were the other two?

The Siege of Atropos is a good idea. I liked the way the temporal hazing blurred the lines between the Doctor's past, present and future. And her dark coat is awesome!

Time is breaking, time is broken, "time was unleashed for long enough and now the damage is done". Ooooh,now that is scary. A war between Time and Space? How does one stop a war between two laws of the universe ? They're not entities one can physically restrain, they're the actual backbone of all things!

Though... Who is the old crone ? Is she the one who freed the Ravagers, unleashed the Flux and decided to destroy everything ? Why is she so hellbent on blaming the Doctor for it all and destroying the universe? What did we ever do to her?

I love the way series 13 so far gives us so many questions, answers them and then leaves us with just as many questions as before. Although I'm very much enjoying it, I do hope we'll have most if not all (let's be real, Doctor Who has never answered every single one question they've raised no matter the showrunner) of the answers by the last episode.

MISC

Yaz is being stalked by Angels ! I really hope this will not be another Pond situation because I barely survived Amy and Rory's last episode, I'm not going through that another time. Yaz doesn't deserve it !

Especially considering how rude the Doctor is towards her. Listen, yes, the Doctor is under a loooot of stress, between the Timeless Child stuff and now the FLux and war between Time and Space maybe being her fault ? She must feel so guilty, she is so afraid and angry. But that is not a reason to be so short and cold with Yaz! I get that she doesn't want to answer or discuss the things that are happening, but you know what happens when the Doctor pushes out their companions and retreats into their shell? The companions go and do something stupid to prove that they're worth it, they can be trusted, the Doctor can talk to them. And then they die (or gets stuck in the past, or in another dimension, or forget everything...). So, now is not the time to be rude and cold, Doctor.

That being said, who else was losing it at Jodie the cop rambling in the car at Yaz? Damn, that scene was hilarious! Jodie's a damn good actor.

The music in this episode is excellent! Segun Akinola's soundtrack isn't on the same plane as Murray Gold's scores. Whereas Murray Gold made pieces that stand out, that were just absolutely stunning in their own rights, like "I Am the Doctor", or "This is Gallifrey", or "Tell no lies", Segun Akinola's music is woven into the episode. Each piece is composed for the scene or the character and accomanies it, instead of being masterpieces of their own. There are some episodes in which the music does stand out, like the Ghost Monument or Demons of the Punjab, but most of the time, the music is inside the episode.

Now onto the next point... WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY BELOVED TARDIS? STOP HURTING THE OLD SEXY GIRL ? The fact that an Angel managed to get behind the Tardis' shields, the black goo and the stalactites, the door changing places and the gravity going haywire... What is happening to the Tardis ? Is she breaking apart because of Time going wild and the Time/Space War, or is it because of the Doctor's losing it? MY theory si that it's both. Yes, Time going out of whack definitely has a huge, important impact on a literal time travel engine. But, the Tardis is also sentient, telepathic, and bound in ways we can't imagine to the Doctor. The Doctor's very core is being unravelled and she's losing herself, her identity, not only due to the Timeless Child revelations, but also after her stint in the time stream. It must have an effect on the Tardis.

In any case... "The Angel has the Tardis!" ooooooh, next episode is going to be... wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey crazy.

Riddle Rosehearts

Riddle has the days you’ll visit NRC marked everywhere: on his calendar, in his planner, and he’s prepared several alarms on his phone, just in case. He’ll arrive at the mirror chamber ten minutes early, so he can pace around and anxiously wait until the exact time you’re supposed to step through. If you’re even a minute late, he’ll be worried.

He’ll never admit it, but Riddle misses you terribly. His mood is a lot worse when you’re gone, and Trey will often find him sighing and staring into space instead of doing his homework. Sometimes he wonders if he can convince you to stay with him forever, but he respects your decision to go between worlds too much. Besides, Riddle isn’t sure he could ever find the words to tell you how he feels.

Riddle enjoys whatever sweets or baked goods you bring back with you! Dollar store candy, or a homemade pie, he doesn’t mind whatsoever what it is as long as it’s sweet. You get bonus points if it’s something he’s never eaten before. He’ll also enjoy studying the various histories and laws of your world-- Riddle wants to know about where you came from, and maybe one day he can apply that knowledge in person...

Leona Kingscholar

To the casual observer, it looks like Leona doesn’t miss you whatsoever. He acts the same as ever, but he’s a lot more irritable without his favorite cuddle buddy. Ruggie wishes you would visit more often, if only so Leona would be easier to deal with. The days you visit NRC are the only days you can see Leona exert any effort. Even if he’s a few minutes late to your meeting, he still drags himself out of bed, unprompted by Ruggie, to come pick you up.

Leona knows your travelling unavoidable. This isn’t your world, and you have a whole life in some other place he doesn’t know about. Besides, he’s much too prideful to come out and tell you that he wishes you wouldn’t leave him. Whenever you do visit, Leona is basically attached to you at the hip: he’s holding your hand, or lets you cling to his arm, or ruffles your hair.

Leona isn’t that interested in your world, but he is interested in your life in it. Do you have any other friends? What’s your family like? How different is your world from his, anyways? You don’t have to answer his questions if you don’t want to; he’s perfectly content with just holding you. Leona has always been more interested in you than anything else.

Azul Ashengrotto

Everyone knows when you’re coming to visit, because Azul will begin humming as he works. Also, people tend to seek contracts from him more often on those days, in the hope that he’ll be in a good enough mood not to scam them too harshly. The knowledge that you’re coming to visit makes it easier to relax for Azul. He’s done his best to keep busy, so he can forget that you’re not with him.

Azul loves you, but he has toyed with the idea of getting you to sign a contract with him, with the catch being you have to stay forever. At the end of the day, he couldn’t bear to see you unhappy, and tricking you to do something leaves a sour taste in his mouth. You’re different from everyone else. If you were to stay, he wants you to stay on your own violation. Besides, he’d probably end up helping you for the price of a few kisses.

Much like Riddle, Azul is fascinated by your world. He wants to know everything about it, so bring him a lot of books, from history to fiction to research dissertations, because he reads fast. Maybe he can borrow a few business ideas from your world to apply to the Mostro Lounge, or add a new menu item that utilizes food exclusively from your world.

Kalim Al Asim

Kalim’s mood is written all over his face. He’s just not as energetic or happy when you aren’t around, and his parties aren’t as grand as they used to be. If someone mentions your name, he’ll immediately whip his head around, only to sigh forlornly when he remembers you aren’t there.

In all honesty, Jamil is driven crazy. Kalim mopes all the time, and he unintentionally uses his unique magic to make it rain in Scarabia, to match his mood. Kalim counts down the days until he sees you again, and he is running to the mirror chamber as soon as class is over so he can launch himself into your arms. Please pat his head and tell him that you missed him! He is not going to let go for a long time. Kalim will also give you a bunch of presents so you don’t forget him when you’re gone, and this boy has no idea what the word “excessive” means.

Kalim enjoys the different sorts of food and games you bring from your world, but he’d honestly be happy with anything you give to him. He just wants to spend time with you, and make you happy. He’s excited the day you bring back some matching bracelets. Kalim treasures it, even if he owns far more expensive things. Whenever he’s lonely, it’ll remind him of you.

Vil Schonheit

Ah, Vil. He’s cold, beautiful and perfectly unflappable, if you ignore the fact that he scowls a lot more and takes out his frustrations by viciously polishing his potato underclassmen into perfection. It’s a lot easier to focus on his maintaining his appearance and managing his dorm instead of the fact the person he loves the most won’t come to visit for another 6 days, 13 hours, and 27 minutes.

For some reason, Vil finds the way you call him beautiful more appealing than when anyone else does it. It’s frustrating that he doesn’t feel like his best when you’re not around, and you can bet he also spoils you silly when he sees you again. He’d even let you ruin his lipstick by kissing him, which is a privilege no one else is allowed.

Vil is the most interested in the trends in your world, and the movies. Maybe he’ll start a similar trend in his world, just so he can be reminded of you. In fact, if you have social media, he’d probably fuss over it, offering to help you curate an account that attracts millions of followers. In regards to movies, Vil is a part of the movie appreciation club. He’s curious to see how movies might have developed differently in your world. If you give him your favorite ones, he’ll treasure them, and watch them when he’s in a bad mood.

Idia Shroud

Idia buries himself in video games and projects to forget the fact you’re gone. He’s used to being alone, but he’s not used to feeling this lonely. No picture or video of you makes up for the real thing. He’s hoping he can invent a device that lets you communicate between worlds, so that even if he can’t see you in person, he can still chat with you 24/7.

The only time you will see Idia out of his room is when you’re visiting. With his hoodie pulled over his head in terror, he’s trembling as he heads to the mirror chamber, so he can throw himself into your arms. He’s always a few minutes late so he doesn’t have to spend too much time outside of his room. Please help guide him back there, actually. Idia will also require a lot of cuddles and kisses to recharge, too, even if he’s blushing the whole time.

It’s obvious that Idia is fascinated by the technology in your world. Show him your phone, your video game consoles, or any other electronics you have lying around. Idia will definitely tinker with them a little bit, giving them new features and helping them run more smoothly. He’d be happy exchanging game consoles, so he can play your favorite games, while you play his, when you’re apart. That way, it feels like you’re connected.

Malleus Draconia

It’s astonishing for Malleus that one human can make a few days seem like a few years. Normally, he doesn’t feel the passage of time quite so acutely, but he can feel every hour, every minute, every second, that you aren’t with him. He’s lonely, because you’re one of his only people he can talk to freely. Things aren’t the same without you, and he thought he was used to being lonely.

The mirror chamber is always empty when you arrive, if only because no one wants to be in the same room with Malleus for too long. As soon as you arrive, he kisses your hand, and whisks you away. He has so many things he wants to talk about with you, and there’s never enough time. He wonders if he can convince you to stay in his world, but he knows it’s a cruel thing to do, when you’ll die long before he will. As it is, he is satisfied with these small moments, where you can still smile at him.

He is floored by the Tamagotchi you bring him from your world. If you have your own, Malleus will hope your Tamagotchi and his can become friends, and he’ll insist on them having a playdate while he talks to you. Malleus also enjoys photography of your world, and when you present to him an entire portfolio of gargoyles, he gives you a hug in excitement. What would he do without you?

This is a list of facts and fun facts about Deuce! This list is based on true facts only and any observations I've made, however observations can be subjective, so those will be labeled properly! Let's start off with some facts already in the wiki :)

Age: at the beginning of the game, Deuce is 16, but currently, he is 17 [his profile in game has not been updated, but as time is proven to flow in game, it is unclear but can be interpreted that the characters do canonly age]

Hilariously in the instance above, Sebek, who is like...a real fae, has said that what Deuce did was not something a human can do

He can change a lightbulb, and he talks abt hand washing materials and just domestic house stuff in general as if it's common knowledge. In other words it's implied Deuce is really good at housework due to doing a lot for his mother

When he was a kid, he used to cry because he thought there were monsters outside, but it was just hanging laundry

It's implied that one time (or several times...) he stayed after school with Crewel, and the poor guy had to attempt to explain the same concept over and over again to Deuce for hours until he understood

Ace always cheats in card games with Deuce, so Deuce claims that it's not very fun playing with him

Does tease ppl, he once messed with Yuu and in the process called Ace "Ace-kun" (Ace called him "Deuce-kun" as well). There has been an instance where he's teased Jack about his Niceness TM

Used to have over 30 gang members following him at age 14-15. (You'd think that him being so young would make him like a lackey but no he was the boss)

Has a thing for summoning cauldrons since he was young, but apparently you need to have a large amount of magic capabilities to summon objects, so [observation] deuce may actually be extremely powerful bc he was able to summon things at a young age, but he hasn't refined his powers yet so he still seems weak compared to a lot of the cast

During his delinquent phase, apparently he had a really wild hairstyle and he used his magic on people weaker than him

[Observation] Deuce is actually pretty good at lying. In his Halloween card he was able to put up a good act and deceive some of his ex gang members into following him into the forest before mildly roughing them up (keep in mind that he has not had contact with these ppl for at least a year, yet somehow he was able to assert enough authority to tell them to follow him. Also, he thought of this plan on the spot, and acted malicious enough so that the gang members would believe in him—which proves that he's not only quick witted but a convincing actor, as Jamil actually believed his act for a while)

[Observation] despite wanting to be an honor student, Deuce is still able to take unjustly means to achieve his goals (EX. Making a deal with Azul to pass his test), in general, deuce doesn't care too much about the method, be it through cheating or violence to get to his goal, but he does value a fair battle

[Observation] a lot of Deuce's strengths are subtle as we are frequently told abt how much of a bad student he is, but if u rly think abt it, deuce is put in leadership positions a lot, he's good a memorization and small technical details, he can be at times quick witted and deceiving, and he has the potential to be extremely powerful in magic. In conclusion Deuce is a menace and once we find out what his unique magic is I'm 100.01% sure he will become a greater menace and I think he should fight a lot of people and win

Alright, this might be a bit too early to be saying this, but ever since Rook's 'betrayal' and those who are hating on him now...I'm kind of worried the same thing might happen to Silver. Since each of the stories take parts from the movies, we know that Silver is twisted from the sword that killed Maleficent. And what if he's forced to defeat Malmal? Knowing toxic people are in the fandom, they might start bashing others for still loving him. That's what scares me. ~🍁leaf anon

I was thinking of the same thing a few days ago www. Well, *sigh* time for another analysis I guess:

Considering what we had to go through after Pomefiore chapter...I thought if it was really just because of how the story ended. But I came to realize something important, the drama wasn't simply because a NRC student voted for RSA, it was because Rook did this, a character who already had a considerably dramatic reputation in the fandom way before Pomefiore was released:

Let me give you a better example, Leona. In savanaclaw's arc Leona was this close to seriously killing Ruggie. We all know that it wasn't intentional, his attack was a result of having his magic stone tainted which soon led to Leona's overblot so his actions/ emotions weren't really under his control at the time.

But still, he almost killed Ruggie but no one ever really started a drama or #CancelLeonaKingscholar tag over it, I'd dare say no one even blamed him either.

Well Leona might not be the best example we can use here but I assure you, if Rook does something really bad, and Leoona does the exacf same thing afterwards, Leona would face less punishment and blame because of his current popularity and clout.

According to the statistics, Leona's currently the most popular dorm leader and most likely the most popular character of the game, doing something absolutely horrible may lead to a mild decrease in number of fans, yet, it'll never, never be as dramatic and horrible as what fans did over Rook.

Look, clout is very important, so if a potentionally popular character does something bad a considerble majority of fans might simply ignore and exucse their deeds, note that as students who have souls of greatest of villains none of them were ever supposed to be any pure either; NRC is a school of villains.

What I'm trying to say, is that the drama was also exaggerated because it was with Rook of all people. Both Rook and Vil are characters who have been looked down on and harassed ever since twst was released, so no wonder why the fandom exploded when Rook of all people made NRC lose the VDC.

-Defending your bias- is something quite common in not just twst but rather each and every fandom all over the world! I'm not saying everyone would just ignore everything horrible their bias has done to defend them, but a huge majority of fans would this soooo when dramas like his arrive, more popular characters like Leona and Malleus have a higher chance of survival while Rook just drowned under the pile of hate comments and posts.

Regarding the Diasomnia chapter, I'd give you an example using Malleus; He is a very important character, dare to say the most important character of the game after Yuu. Why am I saying this? Oh God, can't you all see? The one and only character to be on twst's official poster, the only one who got an official artwork aside his concept art and game cards design; the very last character we're going to have a SSR pick up for and the last dorm leader we're going to meet and also the only character who happened to befriend and get to know Yuu without knowing them much or having a specific chance to meet them in school.

Why is his role so important? We don't know. We don't know what makes Malleus special and that's my point, it can even turn out to be something truly evil.

I love Malleus, but at the same time I don't fully trust him, his "I've got lovely plans to entertain you here" has been giving me chills for so long and if he turns out to be a total contrast to the silly tamagotchi baby this fandom has made of him I won't be the least surprised; yet, even if we get to face a plot twist that changes our entire perspective towards him ( in bad way) I still won't unstan him, not because I think of him as a misunderstood and isolated young boy who is kind and pure at heart no matter how scary he looks on the outside.

Each and every of our characters (except Silver, I'd later explain why) have a dark side to them whether you like it or not, that's a fact. Expecting guys who are supposedly twisted Villains to behave like a prince on the white horse is nothing but a wild fanon fantasy.

I guess Diasomnia chapter is still going to face less drama since most of Diasomnia characters are considerbly popular among the fans, but Sebek's on think ice I'd say, I'm sure that I won't ever see a #CancelMalleusDraconia tag but a #CancelSebekZigvolt tag? That's not too far from mind considering how Rook got shitted on because of a simple vote. I guess almost all of us have already prepared for Silver's possible betrayal as the sword so if anyone ever dares start a drama over something which we already saw coming long ago, that's a matter of immaturity and obvious stupidity.

Long story short, no matter what happens in the future story line, I expect everyone to be civil. Just a boo is all it takes for some dramtic fans to lose their minds again but let me tell you: Even if Malleus DIES(which is logically impossible) in the very end I'm still mature enough to never start a drama over it no matter how badly it hurts.

But...since I know there's never really a way to prevent drama in this fandom, all I can say is to stay silent whenever you see a wave of drama. Don't support the drama, but don't oppose to it either, just ignore it.

I was watching as the wave of Rook drama washed down the fandom and this is the summary of how posts changed under the tags:

12 hours after the release of Pomefiore's final episodes: Memes clowning Rook, mild spams of hate.

12 hours- 4 days after the release of Pomefiore's final episodes: Posts defending Rook, shoutouts, stuff explaining why Rook's vote for RSA made sense, etc.

You see what I mean? The first 12 hours was the main wave of hate spam but this drama was mainly about the spam of posts defending Rook, not attacking him.

Continuing a drama, whether it's by hating a character or defending them just worsens the chaos even as you're totally right and mean good.

The one and only way to truly prevent a drama from being spread all over the fandom, is by not supporting/atracking any posts, ignoring drama and waiting until no one is talking about it anymore.

title: a treasure hunt of sorts

word count: 2696

summary: Malleus had been gifting Ellis gems, recently, so many that they were piling up and he wouldn't know what to do with them even if he actually understood the meaning behind the gift. After some "careful consideration", he decides to give something back.

Everything in the Ramshackle dorm building creaks, floorboards and doors and ceiling threatening to collapse in a way that Ellis somehow had just grown used to. Door shut behind him, he walks noisy steps towards the lounge, leaving the beautiful night outside, and placing a red gem the size of his palm on the coffee table.

Another one. The fifth one he’d gotten this week, and they were only halfway through it.

The gems gather on top of the surface like freshly picked fruits, full of color and life and almost glaring at him in their little shiny pile. He slides the blazer off, tossing it somewhere — Grim was asleep at this point, it’s fine if he wasn’t being the best influence — and lets himself collapse on the plush stuffing of the couch.

The gems were a gift from Malleus Draconia — A name that strikes fear into many students’ hearts, for reasons Ellis just couldn’t see. They had met by chance outside Ramshackle, Malleus was taking a nightly stroll and they just ended up chatting for a reason or another. He found out bits and pieces of information every time they saw each other. That he liked abandoned buildings and the night sky, that he was very knowledgeable about gargoyles and owned a tamagotchi, then his name that he had been refusing to actually tell. They hit it off and became friends. Malleus was a person Ellis liked to be around.

And a person he had an exponentially growing crush on, he admits, but just to himself for now. He sighs again, head in his hands. His crush, putting a different precious gem in his hand every night. It should have been a dream scenario, but he just doesn’t get it. The way Malleus does it is so unaffected, they couldn’t be heartfelt gifts at all. It looked like he was lending him money.

Maybe that’s what’s happening, he thinks tiredly, looking around the inside of the building. He had been cleaning up for most of the semester, it managed to look decent now, if only a little like somewhere a grandmother would live, but that was cozy in its own way. The outside was still screwed up, though, so maybe Malleus trying to help him with repairs? Ellis stares at the pile of gems, they stare back. With the amount all of them were worth, they were probably enough to cover all the costs needed to polish Ramshackle’s outside, so maybe…

...he really didn’t want his crush, a guy so lofty and admirable, to think he just couldn’t do something like that by himself, though. The very thought of it makes him uneasy.

He sighs. Maybe he should talk it out with someone, he was burning up his brain cells just thinking by himself like this. He scrolls through names in his contact list before stopping on Cater’s. Cater had mentioned talking to Malleus before, right? And he didn’t seem scared. Plus he may have been aware of Ellis’ crush, even half so — Though that’s sort of embarrassing, it’s not like he’d been trying to hide.

But it’s okay, the phone makes its dialing noise. “Hey, Cater?”

“Ellis! Hi hi.” Cater chimes from the other side of the line. Ellis could hear ruffling even through the phone, maybe he just moved around on his bed. “What’s up!”

“Malleus.” Ellis starts, leaning back against the couch. Thank god it was so comfy, right. “Has he ever brought you, um… gems and stuff? Like really expensive looking things?”

There’s silence.

“Uh, no?” Cater responds mid a confused laugh. “...why are you asking that? We don’t really talk.”

“I don’t know.” Ellis admits, shaking his head in defeat. “He’s been giving me gems all week and I don’t get it. I thought maybe you knew something since you’ve talked to him...once? That’s more than most people here, anyways.”

Cater hums, a short pause. “Well, I really can’t tell what that means.”

Another sigh, another feeling of defeat. Ellis sinks on the couch.

“Ugh. Do you think he feels bad about the state of the dorm or something? I like gifts as much as everyone else, but…” He sighs. “I just wanna know what’s going on in his head.”

“Y’know, they’re still gems, I don’t get why you’re complaining. And you’re so curious about him too.”

“I just wanna know.” He huffs, face feeling hot. “I feel bad I’m not giving him anything back, is all. Gifts are nice but this is too much.”

“Ehh, you wanna one up Malleus?” He asks, voice incredulous. Do I wanna do that? Ellis finds himself wondering. Is that what this is about?

“I mean, I might as well try, right.” He says. He thinks of it as a joke, but it might not really be one. Looking up to Malleus all the time felt… kind of lame, sometimes, Ellis wanted him to look up to him too. His heart feels heavy thinking about it — But he does.

“Okay, that’s just crazy.” Cater laughs from the other side of the line, mixing with the ruffling sound again.

“Yeah, yeah. Maybe.” He laughs back, but, again, he’s actually thinking about it. He can’t help but think about it. What if he actually impressed Malleus this time? He wonders how he’d look.

They say their goodbyes after more idle chatter and Ellis has his flushed cheeks on his hands, pulling his knees closer to his body. He’s tried doing something impressive before, though it usually just ends up going humorously wrong… but, but, maybe this time it’d work. He stares at the gems on the coffee table. These could be the clue he needed.

A wide-eyed Malleus comes to mind. If things went like that, maybe the messages he’d been wanting to send with all the casual affection would get through. Even if Malleus didn’t like him back — That was a scary thought, but he knew it wouldn’t ruin their friendship, Malleus wasn’t like anyone else — he’d been wanting to tell him in a way where he could actually understand, visualize how deep his feelings had been running. This seemed like the perfect chance.

He dreams of emeralds in a treasure room that night.

. . .

He knew that this, at least, was something Malleus would like — Ellis can’t help but giggle in excitement while he drags him around the woods, clutching at his hand, hearing the crunching of leaves under their shoes and the subtle howling of the wind.

“So, tonight,” He introduces, voice chimy and full of energy. Malleus is standing right behind him in his towering glory. His stare is mostly blank, but Ellis somewhat knows how to decode it, and he can see a glint of curiosity there. They stop in front of an assortment of rocks that made up something looking like a gate. “I was thinking we could go looking for gems in this little cave? I heard from some guys that it has a lot of interesting stuff inside!”

Some guys was a chain of information that started with Rook, who had been doing god knows what in the cave, but what mattered now is that Ellis would go there, and he would find something that would blow Malleus away.

“A cave,” Malleus repeats, blinking. His long hair sways with the wind, lime green glow emitted from his eyes — He did things to his heart, honestly, even just being there — as he looks at Ellis with amusement. “Is that… a common outing for your culture, Child of Man?”

“I mean, not really? But I like collecting things.” He says, a bit sheepish as they begin to walk inside. It’s dark, but that’s an issue easily solved by flicking his flashlight on. “And I thought you might like this.”

Malleus chuckles, and that does more to his heart than him just standing here. “I see,” He says, the amusement visible. Ellis can’t help the excited smile beginning to show up on his face. This was it. “I do think it could be interesting.”

“Yeah!” He chimes. Shining the light forwards, he inspects the path in front of them as they walk further away from the entrance — It was safe, right? A lot of people seemed to have been there, plus it wasn’t exactly hard to move inside, the ground wasn’t as rocky as the walls “I heard they have gems deeper inside? Uh, it might be a little creepy for a bit, though.”

Malleus hums. The glow of his eyes shows up more at every step they take towards the inner parts of the cave, shrouded in darkness. Looks magical, Ellis’ brain unhelpfully reminds him, majestic, beautiful.

(He needed to get that confession out already, and yet…)

“I’m not displeased with this place, though.” Malleus’ voice makes a light echo. “It reminds me of home in a way.”

“Home? Like in the Valley of Thorns?” He asks, wincing when he steps against what seemed to be a tree branch, cracking it into two. How do things like that end up here, anyway?

“It’s a very rocky scenery. Tall mountains and thorn bushes, dark almost all year long.” Malleus explains. “I remember seeing it through my room’s window.”

“You know, that’s kind of cool in a way, I’ve never been somewhere like that.” He comments, thumb resting over the flashlight’s switch. He feels fidgety trying to visualize the Valley of Thorns in his mind, then briefly entertaining the thought of actually being there, with him too… “Is the palace all dark too?”

“Darkness is associated with royalty, so naturally it is.” He speaks. There’s a hint of nostalgia in his voice, almost. It’s strangely warm thinking of a smaller Malleus walking around a big, imposing dark castle, and still making all those sweet childhood memories there. It’s a testament to Malleus himself, maybe. The contrast between the imposing exterior and the softer interior. “It's tall, built in black bricks a long time ago, surrounded by thorn bushes…”

“You should bring me there one day.” Ellis suggests. His voice comes out sweet, it always does — And he hopes Malleus can notice why, he wants him to. But he doesn’t expect it at this point.

(Because if there’s one thing about Malleus’ he’s learned, it’s that genius or not, everything just flew right over his head, and flirting with him was a battle you lost before you even started fighting.)

“Perhaps that wouldn’t be a bad idea at all.” Malleus says mid a chuckle, and his heart flutters. Oh to have a tour around Malleus’ hometown. Maybe there wasn’t much more to see at the place than thorn bushes, but Ellis thought about it insistently anyways. The things that made it unique, and the things about it that Malleus carried over. It’s insistent curiosity and his equally insistent crushing.

He glances forward as he smiles, recalling what he’d been told about the cave. They should be getting to the part with the cool rocks (Cater’s words, not his, maybe not even Cater’s either, since he got that from Ace who got it from someone else… you know how it is) now, Ellis is excited. He’s read up a little bit on gems before doing this. Surely Malleus would be caught off guard by that too, if he was interested in them, then they could choose one to bring home, and it’d be like jewelry shopping, kind of, maybe…

But jewelry stores don’t have swarms of bats in it, and caves do — And in they come, screechy noises and motion blur, and Ellis wasn’t thinking about the presence of bats at all, so he completely flips out, jumping in shock with a yelp and dropping the flashlight.

Dropping himself, actually, tripping on a damned rock and almost falling on top of Malleus as he hears the crack of his light falling, rolling somewhere he couldn’t see.

“Careful, Child of Man—”

Ellis blinks, looking around to try and find that light, but it’s nowhere to be seen — Not that he could see anything, the place was shrouded in darkness now — and his breath quickens with panic, damn it this wasn’t what…

“The flashlight?” Ellis asks, voice frantic. “Damn it, I can’t see it, I…”

Malleus’ eyes are still glowing green.

“I’m guessing you can’t see in the dark?”

“No?” He sputters. What, now he could see in the dark too? Malleus’ abilities are usually interesting to hear about, but now… “Ugh, the flashlight…”

“It’s not anywhere near us.” He informs unhelpfully. “Fallen from a drop. Perhaps I should guide us back.”

He sighs, heavy and tired. Great, there went his plans, everything down the drain again. Usually he could just laugh something like this off, but…

Maybe he had higher hopes for tonight.

“Yeah, I guess.” Ellis mumbles. “Sorry, in the end we couldn’t really do anything cool.”

“We still have time for a stroll near the woods, don’t we?” He can’t see Malleus’ face, exactly, just the outline of his eyes dotting the black dye, but with the way they move he guesses he may have tilted his head. “And I’ve actually enjoyed visiting this cave, short as our outing was.”

“...yeah, b-but I wanted to impress you.” His face feels hot, mostly with shame, the stutter comes with the blurting out of the words. He hates being upset like this, and yet— “You’re always the one doing cool things, disappearing in thin air and leaving fireflies behind, bringing me all that stuff… I wanted to do it too, I guess, especially with you bringing me all those gems for reasons I still don’t know why. I wanted you to… l-like me more, I guess, because I really like you.”

Too many words. He feels his core burn, but they’d been spinning around in his mind for so long now, at some point it was meant to come out. At least, even if Malleus hated that, he wouldn’t…

“Child of Man,” He speaks, voice clear and blank after a pause. There it comes, Ellis thinks dejectedly, though he doesn’t know exactly what bad thing he’s expecting. “Ellis.”

But that’s his name. His agape mouth closes. Was it that bad? One might worry his heartbeat would start echoing into the empty cave.

“...I believe there may have been a misunderstanding here.”

He shakes his head, heart twisting. “N-No, it’s okay, I get that you don’t…”

“Are you not aware of dragon courting traditions?”

Ellis feels his heart both drop the ground and soar at the same time.

“...the gifting of gems. I’d been trying to tell you about… how I feel, I suppose, for a while.” He says, and his voice sounds different. Quieter. Guilty? Ellis can’t put his finger on what it is exactly, but he wonders if Malleus is blushing.

And the image of it in his mind makes him want to look away, even as he can’t.

“There’s been a misunderstanding after all.” Malleus sighs. Yeah, his voice is different. Airy, light, something to it that has Ellis’ face burning. “If you’ve been thinking you could make me like you any more than I already do.”

It feels like an impossible dream to have something like this happen, in this damn cave of all places too, but the smile makes its way into his lips and doesn’t leave, lopsided or not. The laughter starts bubbling up. And on his first snicker, he has Malleus’ confusion too.

“Are you laughing at my confession?” He asks when the snickers turn into a full on laugh, one that has him wiping tears off his eyes with his sleeves.

“G-God, no way, I’m just laughing ‘cause we’re both so stupid…” Ellis shakes his head. Who would have known, huh. “C’mon, let’s get out of here. Then we can go for that walk you wanted. I think it’d be nice.”

“As you wish, then.” He replies, and Ellis feels his hand on his, warmth spreading across him. It’s really a dream— “Would that mean we are… dating, now?”

Oh to see the great Malleus asking him all these dorky questions. “Maybe. Let’s get out of here first.”

The light from the entrance shines back onto them soon.
