Is the Grayson run worth reading?

Oh definitely! It's one of my favorites actually.

Before going into it, I would recommend reading it through a spy lens. Dick in this comic is a spy. The authors deserve applause for drawing forward Dick's traits and putting them in a super spy context. It's one of my favorites because here you can see clearly how manipulative Dick is. He's a brilliant tactician and also has the upper hand but he does it under the guise of a carefree fool which completely deceives everyone around him.

Also the characters in it are great and well developed. It really doesn't deserve the hate it gets because it's very well done.

It shows Dick is and has the qualities of a mata hari/james bond spy king in a way that doesn't deviate from his true character.

Wasn’t expecting the origin of how Dick became the vampire king from my Grayson omnibus…

he will use every chance he gets to be a drama queen and if he doesnt have one he will create one

nightwing being hurt in the field, and over comms he can’t get out what was wrong, nearly in shock, and jason puts on his best batman™️ voice and says “robin, report.”

and it snaps dick out of it enough to say concussion, possible broken ribs, and a gash in his side.

Another reason why I’m a firm believer in letting Bruce get old is because the idea of him looking and his dark haired children without his glasses on and genuinely not being able to tell them apart is unparalleled
