Many years later, here at 38 I am finally joining Tumblr.

Here are some REALLY 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗲:⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 🍽️I had my first job before I was legally allowed to at 13 (washing dishes at a restauruant), bought my own car at 16 and between age 18-20 had 3 jobs while attending college. ⁣ ⁣ I have an associates in liberal arts and a bachelor’s in psychology and obtained both in 3 years. Now I run 2 businesses that have absolutely nothing to do with my degrees. ⁣📜 ⁣ 🐾𝗔𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝘃𝗲𝘁. Then decided I couldn’t put animals “to sleep” when the time came, so decided not to do it. Which leads into my next fact, I’m a HUGE animal lover and fully believe in rescuing dogs vs buying from breeders etc. I actually despise people who buy, simply because there are so many that need a home and/or are getting put down due to lack of room. It’s clearly something I could rant on about for ages. ⁣ ⁣ I don’t watch TV that much, but when I do, I’ll admit it’s reality TV (Housewives, Vanderpump)⁣🤣 and me staying up later than I should to enjoy quiet time. ⁣ 𝐼 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝓈𝒸𝒶𝓇𝓎 𝓂𝑜𝓋𝒾𝑒𝓈 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒶𝓁𝓌𝒶𝓎𝓈 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒. ⁣👻🧟‍♀️ ⁣ ✈️I never went on an airplane or seen the ocean 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 21. Now I’ve been to more places out of the country than I can count. ⁣ ⁣ The #1 place on my to visit list is Bali. ⁣ ⁣ 😱𝗜’𝗺 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀. Like can’t even watch a movie that shows a big drop without physically getting nervous (yes it’s that bad). ⁣ ⁣ I played the saxophone in high school. Also played baseball/softball, basketball and volleyball all through school. I was pretty darn good at it too, until I decided getting in trouble was more fun. ⁣🎷🥎🏐🏀 ⁣ 🤤In my fridge the 3 things you’ll always find are: Polly-O Cheese sticks, Wishbone Italian Dressing, Pickles. ⁣ ⁣ 𝘐𝘧 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 3 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺’𝘥 𝘣𝘦: Invisibility (to rob banks obviously..kidding…maybe ;)), time travel and to speak any/all languages in the world.⁣🦸‍♀️ ⁣ 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂! ⁣👇🏼 ⁣.

my brother asked why my voice was so deep and I said I’d give him 3 guesses, and he said “You doin the little flip-flop? The little switcheroo?” and it took me like 10 seconds to realize that was his Polite Way of asking if i was transitioning

I’ve always had a bit of a baby face. It’s not the worst thing, but occasionally gets me into awkward situations. Like when I was 23 having a flight attendant ask me in a baby voice if this was my first time flying alone. I was tired and befuddled and eventually blurted out, “I’m in my 20’s?”

But going back to school has been pretty funny. My classmates are largely 18-20. And to a one, none of them clocked me as being in my thirties. The highest any of them guessed was 25 and even that was said with extreme skepticism.

After telling a teammate over lunch what my age was she spent the rest of the meal staring at me in shock and confusion, clearly deeply shaken that someone she’d known over a year was a decade older than she thought.

But my absolute favorite was a classmate sliding up to me in figure drawing in sophomore year and dramatically whispering, “I- I heard you’re old!!”

I looked at them mildly and asked, “How old did you hear I was?”

They lowered their voice even more, as if the number they were about to utter was so scandalous they needed to hide its entry into the world.

“I heard you were… thirty!”

“Yep.”

They slammed back into their chair so hard it skidded backwards and shifted into high volume to exclaim, “WHAT! You like like you just graduated high school!!!”

I was laughing by that point, “No I don’t! You look fresh out of high school! I look thirty but all the actors who play high schoolers on TV are thirty so you can’t tell the difference!”
