On the "Danny is the lovechild of BatCat", please consider Danny being in an alternate universe or dimension and not knowing who Batman, Catwoman, or anyone else is. Like, maybe Clockwork strait up snatched Danny from his home dimension for Stopping An Apocalypse reasons or whatever.

Anyway, Danny finds out his mother is a infamous master thief in an alternate reality and finds out her name is Catwoman.

Catbat, if they had appeared in the PS1 trilogy Crash Team Rumble may be a flop, but this design kicks so much ass.

They clock in at 748 tris, which is 15 more than Crash, but 30 less than Pinstripe, so I'll call that a success.

This was pretty different to the sorts of models I normally make, but it was a fun project. Not using textures and flat coloring the model by face is fun, but having to keep details in mind while building is not something I'm great at. This is also the first time I've really tried to make a poseable face but I think they turned out pretty expressive. Even if the Crash games used vertex animation instead of armature.

Trying to work backward on a design is always fun, so comparing current Crash characters to their PS1 designs to decide what elements would be modern additions was a highlight here. Also, adjusting the colors to be a lot more saturated so they would "pop" like the old designs was something I spent probably too long on, and I'm still not 100% satisfied, but I like them enough.

This is also probably the closest I'll get to a Halloween appropriate post.
