Haha. Welp!
So this year has been abhorrent for me and my household in many different ways! However, to keep a long story short:
I had a horrible meltdown at work last month due to a build up of stress, severe fibromyalgia flares, positively SHITTY managers and quit my job. I just couldn't do it anymore there. Especially not when said managers responded poorly to my distress and it took a manager from a different shift and another manager from a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORE to finally calm me down enough for me to be safe going home.
I am now unemployed.
My household and I are moving to a better, more spacious and accessible place of living.
That said....
My bills for October are paid and I don't have to worry about being homeless or hungry while I look for another job or get other accommodations figured out. However, November bills onward are not feasible for me right now with.... 38$ in my bank account, especially not when I still have to pay for getting to and from job interviews. Bus fares ain't cheap and apparently our bus fare system here is changing???? god. And syringes for my Testosterone cost money too. not much, but it all adds up.
I'm primarily worried about my phone bill, as without that, I cannot get transportation to my doctors appointments, which means I can't get the medications or mobility aid I need to keep my disabilities managed nor can my providers contact me in case of changes and vice versa. It also means potential employers can't contact me.
I do have to pay back what I owe the rest of my household members for my portions of rent, down payments and loan payments that they're covering for me until I find a job or other form of accommodation. I'd like to keep that as small as possible so I can build my savings back up. ;w;
How to help!
During this time, once I've applied to a slew of places, I'm spending the rest of my free time finishing the commissions I've had queued for a while. I'm also streaming a variety of content and doing art in general that I post here after each piece is done! I write too, but not quite as much. Still, if you like any of what I do, be it art, videos, streaming or writing, consider helping out a disabled genderqueer lil guy by buying me a coffee!
Once I'm done with my current set of commissions and update my sheet, I'll open up commissions again and keep you all updated on that!
It's also totally okay if you can't help financially! believe me, I get it. It'll help just as much to spread this around! Any help is appreciated, ;w;b <3

Happy Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day !!!
[Image description: A halfBody drawing of two characters with cerebral palsy in a simple art style. The character on the left is smiling while bending their arms close to their chest with curled fingers. They have yellow puffy hair, pale skin and a faded cleft lip scar. They are wearing a yellow hairband, hearing aids and a black crop top with a nonbinary flag pin. They're sitting in a manual wheelchair. The second character is hunched over towards them and has his hand on their shoulder in a friendly manner. He has brown skin, black twists, and a cataract in his right eye. He is wearing a light green hoodie and jeans. He is resting his forearm on a crutch. The background is in muted green and yellow with a ribbon going around the whole image. The ribbon has the disability pride flag colors on it and text that says "25th march". End image description.]

Tips for writing and drawing amputee characters: Stump Scarring
This was something I had originally intended to mention in this post but felt it deserved its own separate post.
A lot of people, when drawing and designing amputee characters, draw their characters with these big, gnarly looking scars all over the stump. I get why people do this, but in reality, most amputees have stumps that look more like this:
Tumblr media
The only scarring that is inherent to amputation (meaning most amputees have) is a very thin line right at the tip of the stump that comes from where the stump was sewn shut. After 5-10 years though, these thin incision scars will fade to be nearly invisible in most folks other than the indent it usually leaves in the skin.
Of course, there are exceptions! My own legs are covered in heavy scarring like the pictures below.
Tumblr media
but typically, you only see this in amputees who lost their limb in ways that required them to also need skin grafts, such as from a burn (fire or acid), gangrene, some types of rapid-onset sepsis, or particularly brutal animal attacks.
For context, I used scars from meningococcal as reference here.
I think this is another reason a lot of people, particularly in 2D comics and animation, cover their amputee character's stumps, because they think all amputees have scars like the ones in the second image and I'll be honest, that's a lot to draw when you're drawing it over and over again, but unless your amputee also needed skin grafts bcuase of their injury/illness, their stumps will look more like the first images.
Fun fact: on particularly pale skin, scars can change colour depending on temperature. scars have less circulation and the blood vessels are closer to the skin, which means if you don't have a lot of melanin, your scars can turn a grey-ish purple colour like so:
Tumblr media
This information is brought to you by an especially pasty white person in the southern hemisphere (where it's winter atm) who's scars haven't seen the sun since june lmao.
A quick final note: If you look up "burn scars" or any other similar type of large scarring on google a lot of what you get are fresh scars, so they're going to look different than the ones here. On pale skin, large scars like the ones above start out very dark red and will fade to look more like the images here. The same is true for dark skin, typically fresh scars will be much darker in colouration and will fade to be closer to the natural skin tone with time, though on both, they will always be very visible. Some types of scarring on darker skin tones can cause the skin to become lighter, but they don't usually turn entirely light pink like I've seen some folks draw. This is why it's so important to look up references of the type of scar your character has AND how that looks on their skin tone.
And as always, listen to POC and seek out the recourses specifically made by them, especially if you're drawing characters with darker skin tones. Their lived experience will always beat my "what I found through internet research and from talking to friends"

Disabled transfem in need of help!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hey y'all, i had to leave my job back in January bc my mobility disabilities have been getting worse, making it impossible to do such physical labor, and my job couldn't accommodate me due to the nature of the work (janitorial). so, i'm in income limbo atm while i file for SSI,SSDI, and unemployment, and also try and search for remote work. to make matters worse, the one employed person in our household has had to stay home from work until she can get a doctor's note confirming that she's fit to return to work, and the soonest pcp appointment she was able to make isn't until a ways out. we have a lot of bills upcoming, so we desperately need some help!
i would appreciate any donations to help me out during this time, and would especially appreciate more folks subscribing to my patreon. i'm planning on making more comics during my increased free time, so funding my patreon will help me do that and worry less abt income. Links below:
Patreon
Ko-Fi
Paypal
Cashapp: $ScoutForester
Venmo: @Sarahpillbug
i'm also going to open up my commissions to do $30 simple pfps. i can't handle doing anything more than that as executive dysfunction makes commissions very stressful. here's some examples so you can get an idea of what i can do:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i design all pfps in such a way that they will look good in both square and circular frames. if you need me to design for different shapes or want me to focus on just one, please let me know!
i've received so much support from y'all in the past during hard times. i really couldn't have made it through without y'all

Disabled trans lesbian artist in need! Winter sale going on in our Ko-fi shop right now!
we have reduced prices on all items to reflect our IRL prices, as we are unable to sell at markets right now due to the weather! we are a severely disabled transgender lesbian artist who is escaping unsafe, abusive housing where i was being stolen from and forced to deal with smoking cigarettes indoors. we're currently couch surfing and need help saving up money to get our own apartment. we are applying for disability and do not have stable income. we have schizophrenia, arthritis, hEDS & fibromyalgia, and working is not an option for us.
thank you for considering supporting a small queer artist in need!

Non-verbal & non-speaking characters in Audio Dramas
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A PowerPoint was created after receiving questions as to how we could have characters that don't speak in our show. For an audio version, check our TikTok.
Suggestions for other ways to give non-speaking characters space in shows are welcome! This presentation was made by someone who is mostly non-verbal and previously fully non-speaking.

Yallllllllll
Its convention season and I’m STRUGGLING
So I’m in the process of getting disability and I had to quit my job because my chronic pain just couldn’t handle the type of work even though I loved it; my spine said “no”
Anyway, my beanies are my biggest seller at conventions but I currently do not have the money to restock.
I have like ten left of this design:
Tumblr media
And I think if I sell out I can afford to restock all 4 of my designs
Here’s a few more of my popular designs that I know my girls, gays, theys, and disabled people will love.
I really need some support here because I love my art and the community I’ve built around it. So if you can’t afford to shop that’s okay. I’d really appreciate a reblog and I’d love to shitpost with you in my discord server.

I wanted to try putting together some queer couples in this style...
Stickers available in my Etsy shop, and prints via Inprnt!
[Image Description: A set of six flat-color drawings in a simple style. From left to right, top to bottom: 1, against the trans flag: a thin white person with a blue undercut holding a fat black woman bridal style. The black woman wears a pink flannel over a red shirt and jean shorts and red sneakers.
2, against the pan flag: a thin black man in a wheelchair with hot pink accents, his clothes in the corresponding purple and blue of the bi flag. Beside him walks a thin black woman in a white dress holding a rainbow umbrella.
3, against the gay man flag: two South Asian men in salwar kameez stand holding hands with their foreheads touching. The one on the left is wearing trans colors.
4, against the lesbian flag: a chubby South Asian woman with long dark hair and glasses sits embracing a petite East Asian woman with short hair. Together their outfits comprise the colors of the flag.
5, against the polyamorous flag: a chubby freckled Latina woman with long wavy hair and a skinny white person with a shaved head, tattoos, and a prosthetic leg stand embracing a hijabi woman between them. The two on the outside have outfits with the colors of the aroace flag, while the hijabi woman wears aromantic colors.
6, against the nonbinary flag: a fat white person with a grey beard and ponytail, using a forearm crutch, and a mid-size black man with long greying hair who is gently touching his partner's face. The black man wears ace colors, while the white person wears nonbinary ones. /end ID]

The embarrassing parts of a disability never stop being embarrassing. The visible parts don't become invisible. Some days you will notice the stares, the looks of confusion or disgust or intrigue, and you'll look inward and feel those same thoughts returning.
It's okay. You are allowed to be upset still, you can be upset and embarrassed for the rest of your life. You'll get used to it most days, but just cuz "it's been 20 years" or "i've been like this my whole life" doesn't make how you feel suddenly invalid.
You can mourn not being able to walk or run forever. You can mourn not being able to socially connect forever. You can mourn being pain-free, medication-free, disability-free. You don't have to "get used to it" or "get over it" so harshly. You can always cry a little, it's okay.
It's okay to be disabled, and it's okay to feel like it's not. You are loved no matter what ♡♡♡
