hello, my name is equinox, i am severely disabled autistic trans person dealing with schizophrenia, PTSD, arthritis, hypermobile ehlers-danlos syndrome, degenerative disc disease and gastroparesis. i am a wheelchair and cane user. i am recovering and stabilizing after being homeless for 6 months; i just spent 2 full months living in a hotel paying $38/night. i have relocated into my apartment that i was waiting 6 months for due to the subsidized housing program taking forever to calculate my earned income

i just paid $307 for my deposit + prorated rent in order to move in, as well as a $20 electric bill and a $35 bill to get internet set up, which is required for my jewelry business. i also had i also currently need a lot of things in order to make my house livable including a bed and food, and being able to get to the pharmacy for my medications. right now i have no food in my home due to having to spend money on uber XLs to and from my motel and storage unit in order to get the few possessions i have like blankets and personal belongings. i lost a lot of my kitchen supplies when transitioning between staying with friends for a while

Disabled, Queer, and need financial help

Hi. I'm too disabled to work. I applied for disability approximately 2 years ago, and am still in the process of trying to get approved for that. As of now, I've been denied twice, and my attorney and I have submitted an appeal for the most recent denial which came through last month.

In the meantime, I still have bills that need to be paid. My partner covers the biggest things, including rent, but can't handle all of my bills, so I need about $250 a month to get by for my bills and also incidental purchases like replacing worn out clothes. Any help I can get is amazing and goes a super long way to keeping me functional.

i have had to ask a lot for assistance with money this past year. between getting away from abusive family, briefly running to a hotel, moving into an apartment, getting my hours cut for a few months, and my apartment situation siphoning all my finances and crumbling and myself moving yet again, i have had to ask for a lot of help.

January was hell and I lost my job unexpectedly so I won't be getting much if any of a paycheck, and we found out today that my partners check is gonna be significantly less than we expected. In November of 2023 my friend Sam was diagnosed with leukemia. I’ve lived with them - Sam, her husband David, and their daughter Emily - for over a decade, and it’s taking all of us together to get through this. She and David both worked before; now it’s just David. He works incredibly hard but with multiple medical issues in the house besides Sam’s leukemia, one income simply isn’t enough. I’m disabled myself and can’t work a traditional job, and Emily is 11. So we’ve turned to our community for help. 

We’ve received so much help and support already and we’re incredibly grateful, but this is a marathon. Sam will be in treatment for two more years minimum, and we have to be in this for the long haul. Which is where you hopefully come in.

homeless disabled trans person needs help affording more nights in hotel while government housing program keeps delaying my move in-date

3/11/2024: hello, my name is equinox. i am a homeless severely disabled trans person who is living in a hotel. i have been working with this apartment complex since october, working through a program for low-income severely disabled people who will provide me a rent figure based off of my earned income. because i sell jewelry and accept donations online, they are extremely confused as to how much income i make and have been stalling and delaying the process this entire time.

i was promised a move-in date of Tuesday, 2/27/2024, then 2/29/2024, only to have it pushed back yet again. i already set up the electricity in my name as they requested it of me on the 27th. it is march 11th, and i have no idea of when i will be approved, now.

today, i received this email:

i have given them this information several times over the past few months. i have explained that venmo does not generate statements, and that gofundme does not hold a balance. now i've had to explain that stripe also does not hold a balance, and that tumblr is not a payment gateway.

i have been in a hotel for over a month because of this. i have had to explain this information over and over again and have made no headway. i broke down crying this morning because this has been psychological torture. my hotel room is only $38/night. i have tonight booked, but will need help saving up for future nights, as well as the deposit and if i'm ever accepted at this place:

disabled trans person needs help paying first month's rent after recovering from being homeless for 6 months

hello, i have a post about this on my other blog @genderqueerdykes but i know a lot of people don't know that that's me. i am a physically disabled autistic trans genderqueer person living with schizophrenia, PTSD arthritis, ehler's danlos syndrome, degenerative disc disease, and fibromyalgia. i was living in a hotel paying $40/night for 2 months and have finally relocated into my subsidized apartment after months of fighting. i had to pay a $250 deposit on top of prorated rent for the short amount of time i'm living here in March.

i have also had to pay for food, bedding, cleaning supplies, toiletries, dental supplies, shipping supplies for my business, etc. since moving in so my money is stretched extremely thin.

Long story, but I'll try to shorten it the best I can: So, my brother-in-law has been actively fucking over my wife and me because he decided he didn't like his job anymore and stopped going. He didn't tell us for a week that he "quit" either. And since he was out of a job, we had to cover his rent + utilities. He didn't pay rent 2 months ago and paid only about a 1/4 of the rent last month. I'm so tired... But we can't kick him out because rent is SO high here, and I legitimately can't find a smaller place for a lower price than what we pay now. It's just god damn exhausting... And on top of that, my wife and I are about to hit full-on burnout from our job because our coworkers don't wanna do their damn jobs 🙃

i am a disabled nonbinary artist currently trying to pay off some debt I had to take on to afford my most recent semester of university (government student loans didn't fully cover tuition, so I had to use a private line of credit). The debt is around $1345 CAD.

Initially this goal also included saving up for wisdom teeth removal which I very much need, but right now my priority is paying off the debt, so I've updated the goal to reflect that.

As of today (2024-04-18) I've raised $299 CAD, or about 22.2% of the total goal. I still need $1046 CAD to be able to pay off my debt in full.

Still queer, still disabled, still need help

I'm disabled, I can't work, and I've been getting kicked around by America's disability system for a couple of years now. I finally have a hearing about it this month, and when I do that, there's a chance I'll be granted disability and this whole nightmare will end.

Unfortunately in the meantime I still have bills that need to be paid. I live with my partner and she covers my rent and all at the moment, but I still have about $200 of bills to pay a month that she can't cover.

On top of that, this month, I got a speeding ticket from a traffic camera. I was about 6 MPH over the speed limit, but it was a school zone so that ended up being $200 on top of everything else. To that end, I'm gonna have to add that to my goal for the month.

Please help me out or share this if you can. My anxiety is off the charts this month with all of this plus the hearing coming up.
