My partner and I have been homeless for a bit and we recently had to move cities after losing employment. We have been struggling to keep sheltered as the weather gets colder and wetter and, with me being increasingly ill, we need all the help we can get to meet our basic needs. We have no food and we are struggling day to day to cover bills and shelter costs while we look for work. I can't do this without help and my mental health is crashing in a big way so any help is greatly appreciated. I'm really running out of steam here.

Im a Black disabled 2S and my girlfriend a reconnecting Indigenous trans woman have been struggling almost continuously throughout the pandemic. We have gone thru lots of physical, emotional and systematic state violence and We both are at our breaking points.

And before i get deeper into this im genuinely asking yall DO NOT TRIGGER TAG this post as it will basically get minimal traction, because this is a donation post!

Many things have increased my/our financial load and stress in the past 6 months, my (still abusive) mother had a series of mini strokes/1 heart attack which led to me taking care of her, more bills and all the house work. Due to her still being abusive Ive chosen to start helping her from a far, because my mental stability has been worn thin and constantly on the back burner.

My partner @grumblybutch this year has gone through a lot of family abuse, transmisogyny, housing and food insecurity, which has really broken their spirit. With all thats going on in our lives as well as personal, cultural and spirtual reasons my girlfriend really wants to get dual citizenship and be able to live/work on their land again.

We have been cfunding already to make this happen but recently we have a had 3 major set backs to getting my partner dual citizenship.

1. We have found mold INSIDE the walls which we cant fix until the pnw rain stops, we need to buy 2 HEPA air filters for the rooms until we can fix the whole walls, because my mother and I have breathing issues, approx $300-$350

2. My ex boss literally stole $455 from under me right before the holiday break, hasn't paid me for a very long time, so until I get that money we have had to dip into the flight/citizenship fund, but even then we havent been able to get much in the mean of groceries or necessities

3. A few days ago my partner attempted suicide due to all the stressors life has put them through this year, and while this isnt an initial monetary set back, we are going to prioritize our mental health as much as possible, esp my girlfriends after this. We are looking for treatment options for them atm but since theyre out of state we have to pay out of pocket for the treatment they need.

Our original goal to get the funds for tickets/citizenship was January 7th but Its clear that with 7 days left, and 3 major set backs we will not be meeting our goals by then

We are going to use what funds we have left to get some necessities and basics for the house. And hope to re raise the money for tickets and for the HEPA filters and mental healthcare my girlfriend really needs.

our new goal is $1,800, due to the various setbacks, but when I get paid Ill be saving some to go toward our goal as well.

I truly just want to be able to breath, eat and keep us safe before I leave with my lover back to her land, This is all very important to us, thank you for reading.

alright, i need to scream for a minute. this is like 25% a mutual aid post and 75% i am going through it and need to vent my ungodly rage at corporate bureaucracy

so, for context, i have two supervisors, i’ll call them supervisor a and supervisor m. supervisor m is a delight to work with, she was able to help me get a good placement, albeit not one with an incredible pay rate, she always picks up calls, and is just generally polite to work with. supervisor a, on the other hand, complete opposite. just a massive pain in the ass. completely and totally insufferable. always sounds like he’s mad that i, a lowly employee, have the audacity to ask him for something like a site placement or, god forbid, the money i’m owed. the only “placement” he gave me was the one that decided that they didn’t fucking want me literally the day of training, and in order to contact him, i had to call several times a day for a week and a half just to get him to pick up. the one time he did actually pick up, he was on the road and told me he’d call me back in half an hour. didn’t hear from him for over a week.

during the failed placement supervisor a gave me, the site manager promised me wages for the time i had spent on site. that was a few weeks ago, and i still haven’t seen a cent of it. i talked to supervisor m about it, but unfortunately, supervisor m doesn’t have any sway over payroll. that’s entire supervisor a’s department. try to contact him repeatedly, doesn’t even pick up. i was on a call with supervisor m a few days ago, and along with some other questions, i asked her if she could tell supervisor a to please give me a call, which she says okay to. several days go by, and i get a call from him yesterday afternoon. i think, hey, he’s finally calling me to help resolve that payroll issue!

nope. he’s calling me to tell me that, due to having been inactive for over a month (i was out of state for a few months bc i was home from university, and unlike the state my university’s in, my home state requires a license to operate), my previous manager had put a temporary termination on me as an employee; basically, though i wasn’t fired, i was technically no longer an employee. what this means is that i need updated fingerprinting and background check paperwork. essentially, even though i had my first weekend last weekend, i can’t work this weekend, or until he’s able to actually get that in order, and, given how fucking great he is at being prompt, god only knows when that’s happening. i asked him to send me the info for the location, still hasn’t done that so i get to hound him again today. cool.

while i’m on the call, i bring up the payroll discrepancy. he fucking plays dumb with me, acts confused as to what i’m talking about. i tell him that the site manager at the location he’d sent me to had promised me wages for the five and a half hours i’d been there for training. i had to remind him in no uncertain terms that yes, i had been on site working for several hours, which i hadn’t seen a cent of payment for. here i am, a broke college student, arguing for my pay with a supervisor of a several billion dollar multi-national. it’s not even a hundred dollars i’m trying to get here, pennies in his book, but for me, it’s half a monthly car payment. it’s food. it’s what i need to fucking scrape by. eventually after several minutes, he just says he’ll get me the pay for it, and then hangs up.

i had to fight for several WEEKS to get a payment of less than $100.

i’m so fucking tired.

Homeless LGBT Mutual Aid - Birthday Edition!

Hello everyone, it's my birthday (November 7th)!

My little family and I have been homeless these last three years and, even when we were both bringing in money, we couldn't make enough to get approved for housing where we were living. Last month, after I lost employment, we were forced to put together what little we had and left for a new, more affordable city. Unfortunately, it's been a struggle getting basic needs set up and we haven't yet found a place to stay, so we need help getting by while I try and find work. We are still homeless and it's been incredibly cold/rainy/snowy these last few weeks and, since I'm still sick, I can't afford to be without shelter.

It's my birthday this month and what I would love more than anything right now is some peace of mind, a hot meal that isn't fast food, and something warm to wear as the weather gets colder. I'm overwhelmed with bills and it's a constant struggle to keep ourselves safe in a motel. Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated, as well as kind words to get us through. I appreciate everyone who has shown support while we have been going through the worst points in our lives.

Ive been siffed $455 and im starving!

We were able to scrounge up $200 for bills from my wife doing odd jobs and some help from friends. We just need $400 for our half of rent that is owed December 1st. After that I'll have some limited income to start digging us out of this hole.

ok hi, i did warn y'all i was gonna have to do this so here i am. i need help making july rent/ june utilities and affording food for the next few weeks.

i've been struggling really badly since i had to quit my job in december. i recently became a power wheelchair user after a long time of combating my internalized ableism. i can only stand and walk for about an hour at a time at this point, and that much standing/walking usually leaves me unable to function for the rest of the day so i mostly use that small window for housework like laundry, cooking, showering, etc, and i usually cant do all of that in a day anyway.

anyway, that long ramble was leading up to the fact that i can not work a job that requires a lot, if any, standing and walking. and because i dont have a college degree its been really really difficult for me to find something that i can reliably do work-wise. ive been trying for months with no luck, and on top of that my chronic illness is pretty much always getting worse so that definitely does not help. that being said, i have been improving somewhat. back in december and january, i could only sit up for about an hour at a time. now i can sit up for up to 7-8 hours in a day - long enough to spend the day out in my wheelchair. that is amazing progress!

i don't have any friends who live near me whatsoever, and almost everyone in my life is either unwilling or unable to help me cover life expenses. i do have some online friends who chip in sometimes, which i am incredibly grateful for, but they're all also very poor and can't afford to help as much as i need

it's lgbt pride month. juneteenth is in three days, and disability pride month is next month. as a black lgbt disabled person, surviving is my #1 priority right now, so i would really appreciate the help 💜

Hello and Happy Pride from our family to yours! We are a found family of four: Amani, Artie, Bren, and Yami.

Florida has become dangerously unsafe for our little family of four, as three of us are Trans and all of us are queer. Between the recent bills such as SB 254, HB 1521, and SB 1580 (also known as the “let them die act”) and the current political climate, these things directly seek to harm, and even go as far as to eradicate, our existence.

We're asking for your help to relocate us to a safe haven state: New Jersey! Our estimated goal for this move is 8k, which will cover not only the usual moving expenses (moving truck + gas + movers) but also the first two months of rent, food, and winter gear! As Florida natives, we're definitely not prepared for Northern winters. Winter gear will include winter clothes, heaters, and tools to keep our cars running through the season.

Currently, Amani, Artie, and Bren all work remotely as virtual assistants, so they will all have jobs throughout this time. They also plan to look for jobs in person once they arrive. Yami currently works at a Publix and will need to find a new job as we relocate.
