hello, my name is equinox, i am severely disabled autistic trans person dealing with schizophrenia, PTSD, arthritis, hypermobile ehlers-danlos syndrome, degenerative disc disease and gastroparesis. i am a wheelchair and cane user. i am recovering and stabilizing after being homeless for 6 months; i just spent 2 full months living in a hotel paying $38/night. i have relocated into my apartment that i was waiting 6 months for due to the subsidized housing program taking forever to calculate my earned income

i just paid $307 for my deposit + prorated rent in order to move in, as well as a $20 electric bill and a $35 bill to get internet set up, which is required for my jewelry business. i also had i also currently need a lot of things in order to make my house livable including a bed and food, and being able to get to the pharmacy for my medications. right now i have no food in my home due to having to spend money on uber XLs to and from my motel and storage unit in order to get the few possessions i have like blankets and personal belongings. i lost a lot of my kitchen supplies when transitioning between staying with friends for a while

Yesterday (Sunday, January 28th), my cat stole and consumed some yeast. If you weren't aware, yeast is unhealthy and actually quiet dangerous for kitty. So I buckled down and had to call animal poison control. Fun fact; In the USA you have to pay to call animal poison control. Thankfully they were able to bill me which gives me a couple days to pay it. Unfortunately, they concluded I needed to seek veterinary care. My only option was emergency vet care because it was late on a sunday. I had to pay money I didn't have. Money that I wish I could have paid my power bill with if I did have it. They didn't even succeed in getting the yeast out of my cat so I'm sitting here watching over him hoping he will be okay and knowing that I'm in more debt than I need to be in.

I am currently offering commissions to help make up for the money used and to hopefully pay a bill or two if I get lucky.

[1/1/24] Our Refrigerator Went Out

I prided myself on my situation being stable enough in 2023 that I was able to not make any donation posts, but unfortunately things have gone beyond our control.

The day before my birthday, 6 December, our refrigerator quit working. We lost most of our food, and the entire time since we've been having to make due with ice coolers.

While there is a cheap source of ice near our home, obviously this situation can't be sustained for long. We're having to keep the bare essentials foodwise, and can't make large meals with the intent to store leftovers for other days. We just don't have the room.

This obviously limits what we're able to make; and the cost of making single meals every day and buying ice every 2-3 days has massively driven up costs when we were already financially struggling.

What We've Tried

I tried to get the church to help us with a new refrigerator. They got us a standup freezer, which has allowed us to save some long-term storables like meat and frozen food; and most imporantly, ice.

My mother attempted to charge a new refrigerator at Home Depot, which was on sale for $700. However, Home Depot gave us a broken refrigerator with the interior shelves smashed, rails broken, and the compressor didn't even work. We got most of the charge back, but are now $75 further in debt because of a "delivery fee".

We haven't been able to find any more refrigerators for that cost; all the other ones are either too cheap looking for us to trust buying them, or they run upwards of $1,000.

My Goal

I'm not so delusional that I expect to crowdfund that much money, especially after the holidays and everyone being short on money. But if we could raise enough to make some payments, we might be able to do something.

Either way, I'm never trusting the Home Depot again.

Please help me be able to go to the mental hospital.

Hi I don't know where to start so uh if you don't know me, I'm Hollow. I have been medicated and doing therapy for a bit now. I had breakthroughs and ups and downs. But somewhere in me I'm not safe and I need to go get professional help instead of hoping I can fight it long enough it goes away.

But its not as easy as checking in. I have been denied disability and in the meantime we're without reliable income. Biggest issue is, its not just me. My sister, our pets, and our home rely on whatever pennies we can scrape up. If I leave without covering the bills, we'll lose our home and she'll have nowhere to go. So my options are hope I survive and pay the bills, or come up with the money asap so the bills are covered and I can admit myself to the hospital.

I'm gonna be honest, I am both ashamed and disappointed that I even have to make this post. But I have no other options.

TLDR; I need to pay the bills before hand so I don't lose everything if I get life saving care.

I am in recovery from my top surgery/hysterectomy combo and afraid that we will not make rent this month. My wife hasn’t been able to find work despite us both looking and I can’t return to work until either the 17th or the 19th, and I’m limited in how much I can work when I get back due to my disability.
