You smelt sweet. Yeah, that’s a weird thing to say but it’s true. When you walked past him in the hallways, he noticed this… sweet, almost refreshing scent that softly entered his nose.
Now he isn’t saying he doesn't like it, but he is saying that it’s odd for a guy to have such a dainty smell, and Jack's a smart guy. So he has 2 possible hypotheses of why you smell like that.
You're from another world and things might be different there
You're a weirdo and he should avoid you at all costs
So if you see Jack eyeing you, or just tensing up around you, just know you made his radar.
Whoops🤷🏻
⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨ how he found out ୧⠀︶︶︶ ⊹
He reluctantly became your friend, let's get that clear. After the spell-drive incident, he couldn't seem to shake you, tweedle dee, and tweedle dum off his back. So there you three stayed like leeches.
It was only when Ace and Deuce got those anemone things on their heads that Jack truly joined your band of misfits. But that's not the point.
The moment when he found out about your little secret was when you were both hiding under Azul’s desk after trying to get to the contracts. You were squished up against either side of the dark oak deck when Jack couldn’t stop thinking about how unnaturally short you were. I mean, hey he doesn't judge, Heartslabyul’s dorm leader is short and Jack respects him. But he never noticed it until now, with his thigh completely overwhelming yours in both size and mass.
Or maybe he’s never noticed how small your hands are? Must come with the size he guessed. But the one thing that truly bothered him was your face, it was soft and delicate, so much chubbier and fuller than any guy he’s seen… and your smell… it almost reminds him of…
His eyes shot open as the door to Azul’s office opened.
⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨ the confrontation ୧⠀︶︶︶ ⊹
It’s been weird lately. Besides the fact that Ace and Deuce are busy working slaving away at the Monstro, Jack has also started to act more… like Jack around you. Always hovering, carrying things, and nagging. Nag nag nag nag! ‘Y/n don't do this, y/n don't do that, y/n you'll get hurt, don't go in there it's dangerous!’ He was treating you like a damsel in distress when Ace and Deuce were the real ones.
Yet here he is babying you while treating them like normal! It’s gotten so bad that those two plus Grim started raising eyebrows whenever Jack did something for you.
So you decided to do what all smart people do; confront him.
So you do.
You pull him from his track practice and bring him under one of the trees that acts as shade for the runners whenever they're about to pass out from heat exhaustion.
Of course, you were trying to think about the correct way to go about this, because being in a school full of boys, especially teenage boys in mid-puberty, you had to learn to pick your words carefully.
“Why have you been acting weird lately?”
Great start.
Jack denies it, claiming this is how he treats all his friends, yet when you peek behind him to his low swinging tail, and back up to his cherry-sprinkled face, you know you’ve caught him in the act.
You sighed, running a hand through your hair to try and claim even a little of your nerves. “You know, don't you?”
He was silent before he spoke. “I do”
You bit your lip, the two of you unable to keep eye contact any longer due to the embarrassment of the whole situation. There was a pause, yet none of you said something. You both just let the cool autumn breeze cool your nerves before you spoke. Yet Jack beat you to it.
“I know you're wondering when I found out…” You nodded hesitantly. “Well, I’ve had my suspicions the first time I met you-“
“Was it my height?” You asked, but Jack quickly dismissed your guess which sidetracked him to commemorate Riddle and a kid named Epel.
“They’re both short but respectable, hard-working guys. So I thought the same about you. Being a magicless human in a school full of aspiring magicians can be hard, especially with no family or friends to back you up. Though I'll admit, at first I pegged you as a fool looking for trouble more than respectable- until the spell-drive tournament that is.” He added on quickly, not wanting to increase the raise in your brow.
“But I found out when we were in Azul’s office… I never noticed how soft you were. How… squishy you were”
You snorted “Squishy?” You repeated, causing the light flush on his cheeks to worsen. “Hey, this is embarrassing enough as it is! Just- let me finish talking alright!” He growled. Though that didn’t scare you as you kept silently laughing at his unusual choice of wording.
“Only then did it click for me that you were a girl.”
You nodded thoughtfully, looking up at the half-naked tree, a leaf fell and fluttered to the ground, before another leaf followed, and another, and another.
Yet kept your eyes on the tree, on the leaves as you kept thinking about everything he just told you.
“I’ll keep your secret you would like me to, and I apologize for how I’ve been treating you…”
Your eyes were still on the tree “But?”
“But.” He completed staring at you despite the far-away look you had. “I won't change how I’ve been treating you these past couple of weeks.”
Your eyes waivered to his as a cautious tone of curiosity laced your tone. “And why is that?”
“Because” He breathed in, searching for the right words to say, searching for the proper way to say the undeniable fact in a way that won't drive you away, or make you laugh.
“You’re not from here, you have no family or background, no nothing. You're not a beastman, let alone have magic. So there’s no way for you to protect yourself in an all-boys school. It isn't safe for you. If I know you're a girl the others will figure it out too, and where will that leave you? What will happen if the wrong people; Azul, find out? If we weren't friends” He made a face while saying it, like the word was foreign to him “I wouldn’t be doing this. But you are, so you can't stop me.”
“Jack for crying out loud! I’ve dealt with two house warden’s overblots! I can handle a few horny guys!”
He sighed, and his ears twitched. “You can’t change my mind.” That was all he said before he walked away.
Achievement unlocked! You just gained a wolf bodyguard!
⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨ what happened after? ୧⠀︶︶︶ ⊹
You’ve gained a shadow is what happens next. Jack is practically all over you to the point where Grim and the Aduece combo felt a wee bit threatened. Claiming that he better not be trying to steal you away. But it’s fine, you’re actually kind of grateful (though you’d never admit it out loud)
People aren’t giving you scrutinizing looks or curious gazes anymore, instead, they're trying to avoid your gaze in fear of the brooding cc 6-foot buff freshman that follows you.
He has calmed down a bit, having someone consider your opinion was nice for a change. You carry your own stuff and take care of your own problems, unless it’s on a top shelf he can easily reach.
Sometimes you both brainstorm ways to mask your scent so you don't attract any eyes and noses. And the solution was scent blockers, usually reserved for female beastmen's heat. You were deemed the acceptance  (Those things are like fucking horse tranquilizers)

⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨ first impression ୧⠀︶︶︶ ⊹
Who? All he knew was that you were probably gonna mess up his peaceful school life. If being from another world didn't make that evident, then you and your pussycat almost burning down the joint did.
He was already getting a headache from all the new scents and loud chatter, so he just wanted to go back to his dorm where his Egypt cotton-laced mistress was waiting.
⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨ how he found out  ୧⠀︶︶︶ ⊹
He would make it seem like he found out all on his own, but in reality, he overheard you say it yourself. Well, not outright yourself, but it was in an awkward- oh sevens that doesn't even cover the severity of how embarrassing the conversation was.
Jack’s mom somehow found out about your little secret (looks at Jack)
note, he slipped up when going on break, how might you ask? He forgot to shower and wash his clothes so when his mom confronted him about the new smell 👀 all he could do was curse silently under his breath.
yes there are scent blockers but c'mon, how effective can those things be all the time
Anyways! His mother created a feminine hygiene care package for you! Packed full of feminine hygienic products, deodorants, and razors, albeit a bit cheap but you couldn't complain.
Back to Leona, Ruggie had begged (bribed) him to at least do some of his house warden duties, like for example; making sure everyone got back safely from break, and that they were situated in their dorms. And after a hard day's work, he was on his way back to his dorm for some shut-eye when he heard a high-pitched squeal, one that made his ears twitch angrily.
Jack.
He had already checked in with the freshman and assumed he just had a girlish scream despite his masculine appearance.
“Oh my god Jack I love you so much!”
Leona’s head snapped towards the freshman’s door because what the fuck was that??
Girls weren’t allowed on campus, let alone in dorm rooms.
Leona groaned, a gloved hand sliding down his face as he groaned again, deeper. Great. More work for him. It was too much work to get Crowley involved so he’ll just warn Jack, sternly.
He did have to give kudos to the young freshman, because the last time someone tried bringing their girlfriend in, they were caught at the magic mirror and given detention. Of course, Jack could be given the same treatment, but he was feeling oddly generous… He stopped thinking as a slimy feeling crept up his back.
As previously stated, Leona has amazing hearing, if not the best hearing in the school- and he takes pride in that, he really, truly does.
Another thing Leona took pride in; he was hard to surprise. His aloof personality cracks for no one. Sure, there may be a quick eye raise, or maybe even a slight pause if he's talking. Other than that, nothing. Zip, zilch, nada, nothing.
So when Leona was surprised to the point where he whipped his head back towards the freshman’s door again, he was glad no one was there. Especially Ruggie.
“Y/N please be a little quieter, someone could be outside!”
All else was unimportant as Leona stood outside the door, frozen, hand just about to land on the door before it fell limply to his side.
There was a few seconds' pause before he backed away and slowly slinked back to his room to process what he just found out.
(He was conflicted because a girl helped stop 3 overblots.
But then again, Faerina’s wife could get him out of his room…)
⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨ the confrontation ⠀︶︶︶ ⊹
You were in the botanical gardens helping Crewel pick rare plants for next class. It was a nice arrangement if you do say so yourself; help Crewel prepare for class, grade papers and get alone time to study for your worst subject.
So the chance to explore the gardens after staying in stuffy classrooms all day was a Hail Mary for you.
Until you stepped on a snake.
Shrieking like a banshee, you heard the snake protest as it darted into the bush. Scrambling a few feet away, you kept your eyes locked onto the bush, waiting for the snake to fly out and exact its revenge.
That would have been the better scenario anyways. Instead, you were met with a towering lion beastman, tail in hand and his ears in flight mode.
Shit. It was Jack’s house warden. Leona.
After hearing horror stories, you knew no matter how low you bowed or how profusely you apologized, you were royally screwed.
“Oi, I’d watch where you're going if I were you” He stepped closer. “Cause you don't know what someone could do to a herbivore like you” He stepped closer as you took a step backward.
“So small and soft… not an ounce of muscle on ya. Makes one think if you're even a guy at all” He forced you to look up like he was challenging you not to.
“I’m not a girl!” your eyes widened in horror as his smirk deepened.
Uh oh. Voice crack.
Yeah puberty, and all, but you were well past the age of voice cracks.
“You should really keep your voice down” he whispered, leaning in on you. His breath rustled your hair which tickled your ear sending a sharp shiver up your spine and to your brain, sending it into a red alert. It was a whole chain reaction just from his breath. You haven't felt this pathetic in a while.
“As you never know who could be listening”
And with that, he walked away.
⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨ what happened after? ୧⠀︶︶︶ ⊹
Nothing. Literally nothing.
You were skittish around him, anxious about the thought of him spilling your secret to the whole school. But little did you know, Leona did not care. Not in the slightest. At most, he's probably impressed.
I mean with 3 overblots under your belt, you were fine. So there’s no need for him to keep an eye out on you. Nope, none at all.
It’s all the same, as you and Leona barely interacted before so why would that change now? You already got a bodyguard, and who was he to impose his morals on you?
…yet that doesn't stop his sharp gaze from following you whenever you crossed paths.
Where he was from, girls were fierce, dominant, and controlling, a perfect example of that was his sister-in-law. And of course, he knew not every girl was like that, as not everywhere has the same traditions as the sunset savanna. But you were a magicless girl in an all-boys school. And that didn't sit right with him. (No matter how much he tried to ignore it)
He’s basically your convenient savior, popping up if Jack isn't around and claiming he was napping there and you were disturbing him.
Don’t be surprised when there's an unmarked package on your steps filled with a few months supply of premium scent blockers. And don't bother confronting Leona cause he’ll deny it.

⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨ first impression ୧⠀︶︶︶ ⊹
Yawn, just another extra.
He met you during the spell drive arc when you stopped him from pushing Trey down the stairs. You smelt nice, was all he remembered before scampering away. But as nice as you smelt you made him nervous and he couldn’t understand why.
I mean, he injured heartsbyul's vice house warden, he’s stolen from men thrice his size, and he’s friends with Leona for crying out loud! All of this would make one think he had balls of steel and answered to no one.
Except for Leona.... and his grandma of course… Well I mean, sometimes his sisters too but that's it! Really!
Women in the Savannah scare the shit out of him, all strong, dominant and all that junk made him shiver.
Ruggie is observant. So the fact that you could inflict the same kind of caution women give him... Strange. He’ll have to keep an eye on you.
⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨ how he found out ୧⠀︶︶︶ ⊹
Hehehhehehehehhe
Unfortunately for Ruggie, he's going to be a victim to a trope, sorry not sorry.  During Leona’s overblot your legs were shackled in the sand, unable to move, and unable to flee from the stalking lion.
It was just the 3 of you, the rest of your friends outside the swirling sand tornado, standing there helplessly.
Foolish herbivore was all Ruggie could think as you clawed up your ankles, feverishly looking between the house warden and your trapped feet.
Your eyes were wide with fear.
Oh.
An epiphany.
You reminded him of him, that's why he felt uncomfortable with you. You reminded him of a younger, scrawnier self. One that did anything and everything to survive, one that had to conserve food and the little money he had so he could've able to live. One that had nobody but his grandma and a few siblings.
Just a boy from the slums living off of stolen leftovers. Covered in rags, dirt, and bruises. A boy who hoped, dreamed, and prayed for a way out.
A boy whom you shared those same hopeless shimmering eyes with.
Fuck.
Ruggie didn’t know what he should do. Well, he lied, he did but he didn't know if he should do it. But as Leona hit the 10-meter mark Ruggie made a break for it
His legs carried him as fast as the sand would let him, and endless curses spilled from his lips as he saw Leona’s head turn in his direction. Shouting something, he threw a scalding hot gust of sand his way. Gritting his teeth as the searing grains of sand were pelted at him He kept repeating to himself: It was better than someone dying.
He didn't know why he chose to voluntarily go back into the jaws of death; he barely escaped thanks to Riddle.
Maybe it was those damned eyes of yours.
Tackling you onto the sand dome, you both just missed death's door as you both grunted at the sagging impact.
As much as you're both grateful for skating by the sandstorm, that couldn't bring attention away from the uh… obvious cushion.
“ Y-you're a girl!?”
“Not the time Ruggie!”
⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨ the confrontation ୧⠀︶︶︶ ⊹
Basically a cat and mouse game. You spot Ruggie in the cafeteria, and Ruggie creates a clever way to lose you, may it be a crowd of people, laugh with me, or a ‘happy little accident’. He wants nothing to do with you so if you would just leave him alone that’d be great.
But of course you keep persisting, and eventually you catch up with him and corner him in the hallway.
“Why are you avoiding me?”
“Good morning to you, too perfect. If you would excuse me, I have to get Leona's homework from Trein, then do my own. So I really don't have a lot of time-“
“Then I’ll join you “ You smiled, grabbing his jacket sleeve before walking towards Trein’s room. It was foolish of you to assume it would be that easy, he’s a sneaky hyena after all.
Retracting his arms from his jacket, he expertly shimmied out of it like an octopus from a jar. He smiled as you turned around glaring at him, his jacket dangling from your clenched fist.
“Sorry, perfect, but I’d rather not have this talk” He shrugged before walking away. He was free, the sunlight spilled through the dirtied glass windows and onto the walkway of the hallway, highlighting his path to freedom.
“Not so fast Ruggie Bucchi! You get back here!”
And just like that the gates to heaven closed and he was dragged back down to earth. “Shit” He whispered, already starting into a sprint as he heard you thundering footsteps behind him. He felt like Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk, only he was Jack running away from the giant (you) who's ready to eat him alive for stealing his golden goose. (Over exaggeration, you just wanted to talk)
With lingering people in the hallways, he was able to disappear a few times, or purposely put them in your way. Yet each and every time you found him. No matter how hard he tried to lose you, you caught up. What was this a horror movie?
Finally, the hallway ended and he was trapped with no escape. You were stalking towards him, like a predator who had just found its prey.
“Ruggie I just want to talk” You put your hands up in surrender. “That’s it. I want to talk about what happened during Leona’s over blot”
Ruggie wanted to smack himself. God was he stupid. Not even once had he considered using ‘laugh with me on you’. Why? He wasnt sure himself. There were a few theories that popped through his head, but he had no time to entertain them as you were less than 2 meters away.
“Oh, real mature ruggie”
He let out the breath he was holding, the clatter of the lockers was heard as he straightened himself up. Rubbing the ‘dust’ from his knees he just looked at you. As he started to make his way towards you.
You couldn't read him. Did he have a face of relief, conflict, worry? You weren't sure. But when he passed you in your frozen state, all he said was:
“You really think I’d tell people? Really think that low of me huh” It was rhetorical.
By the time he was far away into the hallway, you were unfrozen. Stumbling a bit as you turned to him still walking. “Though my silence comes with a price!”
Ugh great. At this point you’d rather have him tell people
⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨ what happens next? ୧⠀︶︶︶ ⊹
I wanna say he’d tease you but I mean… woman…  No, he isn’t afraid of you! He knows you’re not going to be as rough or intense as the ladies back home, as you’re no beast-man, especially not a hyena beastman.
So there’s going to be a bit of distance between you 2. I mean, there already was to begin with, cause he never met you or talked to you before the spell drive tournament situation.
But after that, he’ll probably mess with you a bit. Not a lot like how he would with others, but a good enough amount to where you interact weekly. Like he’ll cut you in line with a cheeky smile, or he’ll pluck a particular sandwich out of your hand and hide among the masses as you (grim) yell out curses.
He will use your situation against you ngl. He would shamelessly dangle it over your face in exchange for something, mainly food.
But I know he wouldn't do anything too callous or too mean.
Though he does keep the promise of ‘silence coming with a price’ and usually that price is an extra pair of hands or food. So now you've got 3 mouths to feed. Great.
Tumblr media
𝑩𝒐𝒏𝒖𝒔! I originally wrote this for Jack but I thought it was too ooc. Then I thought about Leona but then realized he would only do this in fanon.
Your back was slammed against a tree, Jack hovering over you as you struggled in his grip. His hand encased both of yours while his other gripped your hip, keeping you flat against the tree. His leg was bent awkwardly, pinning you against the tree at an angle that should make him fall, but he didn't. No matter how hard you tried, the leg that kept him braced didn’t budge. Not even an inch.
“Try to escape” Was all he said through your struggling and wiggling. Yet no matter how hard you tried pushing, shoving, kicking, or flailing away from him- nothing worked. You were stuck. Never once did he stop looking at you; through you as you grew more and more desperate to prove yourself.
But he was a wolf beastman, and you were a teenage girl.
And soon, as expected, your struggling slowly stopped, eyes downcast as you laid there, still, in his arms before he set you down.
Your hands rushed up over your chest as you struggled to understand the situation, to understand why he did that.
“I’m only a freshman” he spoke quietly “I don’t even have control of my magic yet, just think about what other guys would do if they found out. So please” You looked up at him, lashes heavy with locked in tears. His face was soft, gentle even which only confused your heart more.

ONE SHOT
[ or Part 1 to Not Another Time ]
<< Request >> "Hey! I was wondering if you could do a one-shot where she’s like apart of the band and she gets hit in the head with a hard object while she’s on stage and Harry is super freaked out? That would be a sanity saver!" - @samanddeaninatrenchcoat
Tumblr media
Summary: Harry Styles is used to having things thrown at him on stage. Recently, it's been Skittles, which affected his vision. But when his band members are affected, he can't stay silent. Especially when it's YN who takes the hit.
AN: I had a lot of fun writing this! YN replaces Laura in the band, just in general, only because she plays the trumpet and I still included Parris.
Warnings: Some explicit language, wound with blood, angry Harry
Tumblr media
He can't escape it. It has carried on from his days in One Direction, and it seems to have become a permanent, unavoidable occurrence that things are thrown at him on stage.
Most are harmless, such as boas, sunglasses, or little plush toys that he is always inclined to keep.
However, there have been a few occasions where the objects were a bit more troublesome. Phones are a big one, which internally annoys the hell out of him at this point.
The most recent culprit, and the most shocking, was a handful of Skittles, one which hit him directly in his left eye. If there is a silver lining of that moment, it's that he only had to get through performing 'Kiwi' before he was able to run backstage and immediately have it taken care of.
He tries not to show anger on stage when things like that happen. He loves his fans. He always wants to treat them with kindness, acceptance, and gratitude. So he doesn't draw much attention to it. There has only been one occasion or two where he has subtly asked for some fans to stop throwing things.
Tonight, however, might be his tipping point.
Tumblr media
Harry has brushed off the frustration from the rock hard candy incident, because tonight is a new night and a new show.
There is also the new trumpet player, YN. Well, she isn't new per say, she's been there since the tour came back to North America, but she is the newest member of the band, and the one Harry has become extremely fond of.
She fits in perfectly with the rest of the group. She is so kind, so joyful, and everyone seems to be energized just by her presence. Including Harry. Especially Harry. The moment she walked into the trial rehearsal, he felt an electricity course through his veins that he's never felt before. He shook it off as a mere, and mild, physical attraction. Then she started to play, and he was taken into a trance by her talent and passion. Then she spoke, and he felt his heart flutter more than ever.
He knows he has a crush, one that he can't talk about or act on, but it doesn't stop the forming of a grin when the horn players walk up onto the stage. It doesn't stop the goosebumps he feels when they all begin to play, being able to pick out the sound of her specific instrument. It doesn't stop the thought that those songs, the ones where they get to be there together, may just be his favorite ones to perform.
So when 'Satellite' ends, and after a good chat with the crowd, reading their signs, the four horn players make their way up the stairs as 'Cinema' begins, causing his heart to flutter and his current smile to stretch out into a wide grin.
When they play an extended introduction for 'Music For A Sushi Restaurant', he takes the opportunity to get some water and give her a quick smile, hoping that he actually does see a blush form on her cheeks, even behind her trumpet.
He stays on the outside of the stage for that song, but gets even more excited when the band begins to play 'Treat People With Kindness'. This means YN will move to one of the outside corners, which also means he'll get to be closer to her as he moves around during the song.
He makes sure to pass by her any chance he gets, but tries hard not to make his intentions too obvious, to the crowd or to YN. She's a part of his band, and he doesn't want to make her uncomfortable, even if she does appear to reciprocate any smile or slightly flirtatious comment he makes. He wants any move made to be on YN's terms. However, that won't stop him from taking this opportunity to share a little dance with her.
"Wait for it… wait for it… wait for it. One, two, three, four!"
As the crowd shouts out the chorus, Harry stations himself next to her, moving his hips side to side, causing her to pull back from her instrument and let out the most amazing laugh.
He's going to do that every time from now on, just so he can hear that again.
That song ends, and she moves into the center with the rest of the horn players, walking through to the other side of the stage as they start their intro for 'What Makes You Beautiful'.
He moves back to the mic stand in front of the walkway, trying to catch glimpses of her every so often, as she stands near the corner to his left.
"I don't know why you're being shy, and turn away when I look into your eyes."
He takes a few steps to his left, pointing his arms out to the fans and encouraging them to sing the bridge.
At that moment, something whizzes over in his direction and lands by his feet. He takes a quick look down, and then to his left, noticing that YN has moved a few feet over to the other side of the stage. He sees Mitch taking a couple of glances over to her as well, mouthing something, but she nods and continues to play.
As the final chorus nears, the four horn players move back to the center of the stage to play the last parts of the song.
He grabs his mic from the stand and engages the crowd, instantly requesting that they applaud for the horn players. He watches as YN gives a wave to the crowd, confused as to why she isn't doing it as vibrant as normal. She could just be tired, though she usually pushes through it, but it's been an intense leg of the tour in Los Angeles.
The time between that and 'Late Night Talking', while Parris plays his beautiful solo, is usually one of his favorite moments, because he has a little bit more time to interact with her on stage. Even if it's only a quick comment or joke, he loves it and takes what he can get. But as he moves closer to grab his water bottle, he sees her talking to Pauli, who swiftly hands her a spare face cloth that he keeps by him.
Harry immediately frowns and quickens his pace over to her.
"What's wrong?"
She wipes herself off and shakes her head, keeping her gaze downward. He can't remember a time where she wasn't happy and bright. But now she looks embarrassed, and sad, which pains him to see.
"Some… something hit me."
"What? Where? How?" He blurts out, not even fully able to process what she is explaining had occurred.
"A fan threw something. I don't know what it was." She sighs, flickering her gaze up to him with a troubling expression across her face.
"Shit. Are you alright?" He steps closer to her, unintentionally placing his hand on the middle of her back, and he feels her shiver under his touch. He removes it, his eyes fixated on her, and he feels some relief when he sees a small smile appear on her face.
"I'll be okay." She assures him. Her trumpet lifts up to her lips, the ones he has wondered what they would feel like against his, and he realizes that Parris has finished his part. "Let's get on with it."
He bites his lower lip as she gives him a wink, and feels a blush form on his own cheeks. If she knew what she does to him, she probably wouldn't be doing that. But he'll take it.
He sings through the second chorus on the closest walkway, still giddy at the fact that he can pick out her trumpet from the others, and he just knows she is swaying back and forth to the lyrics as she always does.
However, he turns around to make his way back, pointing his mic back out to the crowd, and when he sees YN again, she is holding her fingers against the spot over her left eyebrow.
Instantly his chest tightens and he bounces back over there as the song ends. She makes her way back to the center with the others while he takes a quick gulp of water, turning around when they begin to play 'Watermelon Sugar'.
"I'm bleeding." He hears her state to Parris.
"Okay. Go." Parris replies, and Harry follows after her.
"YN." He tries to shout without causing too much of a fuss, but she steps down the stairs, and he clenches his jaw as he watches her make her way backstage.
This isn't good, and he really hopes he can get through this song now.
"Alright, if… if you know this one, please… please do sing along." He stumbles through his words, his eyes still glaring over to the spot where YN exited.
Performing this one isn't as fun this time, though the crowd are probably none the wiser, as he keeps his professionalism as intact as possible. But it is different. She's usually on the walkway in front of him, dancing away as she plays, causing his heart to flutter each time she moves.
He either closes his eyes or moves around the stage a bit, hoping to momentarily distract himself from her, and stay focused on the music. At least to get through the song.
And thankfully he does.
As soon as it ends, the rest of the horn players make their way off the stage, and Harry immediately rushes over to his little setup in front of Pauli.
"Start playing, but I want to talk with the crowd for a moment." He states into the band mic, for only the crew to hear.
They softly play the melody of 'Love of My Life' and he raises his hand as if to signal that he has something to say.
"Thank you Los Angeles, so much, for all of your support. I, more than anyone, know that I couldn't do this without all of you. I hope you have had a great time." The crowd cheers, and stomps, and he responds with some kisses blown around the venue. Then his expression becomes a bit more solemn and he turns back to the mic. "I want to say that my number one priority for everyone here tonight has been safety. That includes everyone on stage as well."
The crowd immediately hushes, which usually doesn't happen without his lead, and it shocks him. But hopefully it means they'll hear his message.
"I always encourage you to dance, sing, and interact. I always suggest that you treat everyone with kindness. And now, I also ask that you please think about these amazing people on stage, and refrain from throwing things that could potentially hurt someone. One of our members was hurt during a song tonight and unfortunately had to leave." He pulls back, clearing his throat in an attempt to keep his frustration at bay. "We want to be able to keep doing this with you for as long as possible, so we all need to make sure that safety is our top priority. So let's keep it safe and have some more fun. How does that sound, Los Angeles?"
He holds two thumbs up to the fans, swiveling around while everyone begins to cheer again, and walks over to his mic for the next song. The last one before their little break, and before their encore. He'll be done soon.
He knows his energy has diminished a bit, which is fine for 'Love of My Life', because his mind is back on YN. He desperately wants to know if she is okay. Needs to know, at this point.
Tumblr media
During the break before their encore, Harry rushed underneath and pleaded with the crew to find out what had happened to YN, and whether she's being taken care of. They assured him that she is fine, but he couldn't get rid of his worry.
He put on his best entertainer persona for the last three songs, feeding off the excitement of the crowd to get him through until the end.
But once 'Kiwi' was finished, he blew kisses to the fans and sprinted backstage, immediately feeling frantic.
"Jeff-"
"H, man, you doing okay?" His manager asks, concern all over his face.
"Where is YN?" Harry quickly asks, not even bothering to answer about himself.
"Huh?"
"Where's YN? She got hit by something. She had to get off stage. Where'd she go?" He asks, feeling frazzled like he never has before.
"Oh. Uh, I haven't seen her, maybe-"
Harry strides off, not really knowing which direction to head, but willing to walk all over the place to find her.
He sees another familiar face, feeling some hope that she'll have an answer.
"Lorren, where's YN?" He asks, hoping his tone is a bit more calm than it was with Jeff, but knowing he could be failing.
"She's in the common room." Lorren replies, a small smirk forming suddenly. "She's okay, Harry."
His eyes grow wide and he stands up straighter, more stable, more casual. Or at least trying to.
"Yeah. Of course. I just… wanted to check in with her." He utters, but her intrigued, raised eyebrow tells him that she doesn't accept his answer.
"Harry…" She chuckles. "I know you care about her more than that…"
"What? No-... I mean…" He sighs, running a ringed hand through his sweaty hair. "Shit."
Lorren laughs again and she puts a hand on his shoulder.
"Your secret is safe with me."
He nods and feels a hot burn flooding his cheeks, not even attempting to hide it since she clearly knows she's right.
"Does she fee-" He begins, immediately stopping as he sees her pull her lips inward. "Nevermind. Doesn't matter. I'm just… gonna check on her."
Lorren nods and smiles, squeezing his shoulder then pointing down the hallway.
"Good luck…" She teases as she walks away.
"What?"
"Nothing." She replies, already opening the door to another room.
He takes a deep breath and turns back around to the direction he needs to go, his steps faster the closer he gets to the room she is occupying.
He opens the door without hesitation, instantly seeing YN sitting on the sofa with an ice pack held on her face, and her phone in the other hand.
He clears his throat as he takes a few steps towards her, slower than they were in the hallway, and his heart pounds faster than it just had been.
"Hello." He utters, not wanting to startle her. She shoots her gaze up to him and he feels butterflies as she immediately smiles. She may have looked different on stage after the incident, but he is happy to see that her bright demeanor seems to have returned. His concern begins to melt away.
"Hi." She responds, putting her phone down, along with the ice pack. She winces as she does, and as he moves to the sofa, he finally sees the large gash on her forehead.
His heart sinks, and he is thankful for the close proximity to the furniture, because his knees almost give out completely as he takes a seat next to her, on the opposite side of where her cut is.
"Fuck, YN, are you alright?" He inquires, his gaze flickering between her gorgeous, sparkling eyes and her anger-inducing wound. His jaw instantly clenches and his palms ball into fists. He can't believe this happened, especially to her. His gaze drops, and he begins to fill with guilt. "I'm so sorry you got hurt."
Suddenly, he feels the warmth and soft touch of her hand on his, causing the tension in his palms to release right away.
"It's not your fault, H. And I'm okay."
He looks up to her again, being met with the gaze he tries hard not to get lost in, but fails every time he's close enough to see it.
"I just…" He sighs and shakes his head, not entirely sure what he wants to express, and worried it could be more than he should. "I just want to… know that you're alright."
"That's sweet." She utters, a tenderness in her tone. He smiles at the irony of her attempt to calm him, when it should be the other way around. "I am. I am alright."
A squeeze of YN's hand grabs his gaze once again, and he just sits in silence as he, once again, gets lost in her eyes.
His hand unintentionally reaches up, gently resting under her chin as he turns her head to view her wound, sighing once more at the sight of it. His thumb reaches up, gliding over her skin, right under the cut, and a tingle rushes over him.
A strong exhale leaves her mouth and he turns her head back to him, his eyes tracing the lines of her lips. He looks back to her gaze, his breath hitching at her beauty, and his body acts on his feelings as he leans in, gently pressing his lips against her own.
She lets out a small sigh, which snaps him back to reality, and he pulls back.
"Shit. I'm… fuck, I'm sorry." His hand drops and he scoots his body further away from her, feeling every ounce of embarrassment possible. He didn't want to make the first move, if there was even one to be made. What if she didn't want it? What if she hated it? "Fuck."
"Please, don't…" She clears her throat, a sudden timidness in her tone. "Please don't be sorry."
Harry's heart begins to race, and he glances up to see her smile. However, a knock on the half-closed door causes both their heads to turn that way, and they both sit up straighter.
"I finally found a bandaid." A venue staff member states, handing it to YN and walking out.
She begins to open it up, removing the strips and exposing the sticky sides, then looks around the room for a mirror.
"Here." Harry reaches out, grazing her hand, and regaining her attention. "Let me."
She hands him the bandage, and he scoots closer again, their thighs barely touching, but just enough for his stomach to fill with butterflies.
He gently places the band-aid over her cut, gliding his thumb over the corners to make sure they stay secured. His gaze drops down, and his breath hitches as he sees her gazing up to him through her lashes.
His palm slides down and rests on her cheek, and she tilts her head upwards, their lips hovering in front of each other.
"Thank you." She whispers, her own hand placing itself on top of his.
Harry attempts to swallow down the lump stuck in his throat, but is interrupted by the sudden soft pressure against his lips. He lets out a quiet whimper, and her hand moves around to the back of his neck, pulling him closer to her. His mouth begins to move with hers, and the tip of his tongue teases the gap between her lips.
She suddenly pulls away, and a frown forms on his face, until her gaze flickers to the door and he hears the chatter in the hallway that must have caused her to stop.
He pushes back, only out of caution and respect for both of their privacy, and grins when he sees her blush.
"You know, I've had recent experience with eye injuries."
"Right. You have." She giggles.
"If you want… you don't have to… but if you want to, you… you could come to my suite." He clears his throat. "To hang out. And I can keep an eye on that injury for you."
"No pun intended." She laughs, and his grin, surprisingly, grows wider. She's still so bright, and he's already down bad.
"I…" She begins, another blush instantly taking over her delicate skin. "I wouldn't mind seeing you looking at me a little more tonight."
"Oh my god." He breaths out, swiftly throwing his palms over his face.
He feels her fingers wrap around his wrist and removes his hands to find her standing in front of him. She tugs on his arm, and he lifts himself off the chair.
"Then maybe I'll get the chance to do the same." She states, biting her lower lip before letting him go and moving around the room to grab her stuff.
Yeah. He's definitely down bad, and despite her being injured, this just may end up being the best show by far.

One thing Eddie had been absolutely sure of: Stevie Nicks was right.
The trip to New York City was carried out solely on a whim. A gut feeling that the brunette rockstar could not quite shake. He had to see you, despite the possible consequences, and Eddie was smart enough to know there would be a lot. He acted like an ass and whether you would admit it or not, he knew he broke your heart.
Ever since his rise to fame, the Corroded Coffin frontman felt this bubble around him. A bubble created by his team, his band, his past, and his own disruptive behaviour — don’t do drugs was a warning he witnessed (and ignored) many times on posters too colourful for the subject matter, plastered on the walls of Hawkins High. Seemingly, the bubble protected Eddie from predators. Leeches that wanted to take advantage of his fame. Unfortunately, the bubble also shielded him from love.
Love.
If the rockstar wasn’t so afraid of the feeling as a result of that bubble, perhaps he would have made different choices in all of his past relationships. Most importantly, perhaps Eddie would have made different choices in the one relationship that’s meant more to him than any other. If he wasn’t so afraid of love, and being in love, perhaps he would’ve fought to be with you a little harder.
And love is definitely how Eddie would describe what he felt towards you. Correction. Feels towards you to this very day. Maybe more, if that was possible considering he hasn’t seen you in months.
So yes, Stevie Nicks was right. The concept of Silver Springs was right.
Seeing you again only affirmed that belief. Talking to you again, witnessing your smile for the first time in months… Well, Eddie never wanted to be apart from you for longer than he already had been. Unfortunately, that wasn’t up to him. Not for as long as your grandmother had her claw all up in your business and stuck her nose where it did not belong.
“So, what happens now?” The rockstar asks, only slightly afraid of the answer.
You hum under your breath, taking a moment to think, gathering your own thoughts. The sun is slowly rising in the distance, so the first response that comes to mind is that you should go home, and Eddie should go back to his hotel, Max’s place, or wherever the hell he’s been staying, before this place starts crawling with people. That would mean saying goodbye for lord knows how long and you were just starting to get comfortable with being around the rockstar again, although, not like that was insanely hard. Whatever. Simply, you didn’t want to say goodbye.
“We could go get breakfast,” you finally say.
Eddie smirks. “As much as like that idea, sweetheart, I didn’t really mean now in the full sense of the word.”
You laugh softly.
“Okay, hotshot.” Turning your head back to look at Eddie, you raise a brow. “What do you think should happen?”
The rockstar smacks his lips together before resting his elbow on one of his knees and bringing his thumb to his mouth. A nervous tick.
“Putting whatever reason I came here for aside, starting over seems like a bad idea since we’ve done that once before and it didn’t really end the way either of us hoped,” he says after a beat of silence, avoiding your gaze.
“Yeah,” you exhale, “Bad idea. Plus you said so yourself, you’re not the relationship type. Getting back together would be redundant.”
“Right,” Eddie agrees quietly, although he really doesn’t want to.
There’s another moment of silence. Nothing but the sound of morning birds chirping melodically and wind gust hitting the water ahead. In the quiet, there is solace. In the quiet, Eddie doesn't have to answer difficult questions or have conversations neither of you really wants to have. A blissful ignorance of what’s really happening here.
He still loves you. You most likely still love him.
It’s all just terrible timing for two people who are — in his mind, at least — made for eachother, but for one reason or the other, can’t be together. Not in this lifetime. Not with people controlling what they can or cannot do. Not with the whole world watching their every move. It hurt. Hurt that a life you both chose was also the life that’s actively destroying something good.
“We could try being friends?” Eddie offers eventually, looking at you then.
You smile. “Friends. I think I like that.”
-
Holly is the only person you’re fully comfortable talking to about all of this. She listens, actively nodding along as you spew your thoughts and feelings out loud, until the rambles become too hard to follow. Holly, ever the best friend that she’s always been, places her perfectly manicured hands on your shoulders and gives your body one shake to get you back on track when the story becomes a little too convoluted. And this one is all over the place.
There’s the run in at Saks, the meeting with Max, the plan, the date with Steve, all that leads to Eddie Munson banging on your front door until you let him inside. There’s the emotionally heightened conversation that doesn’t really amount to much. The dinner with your family that opened things up to questions from your nosh sisters and scrutiny from your Nana. Then there was Coney Island.
You pause.
It’s messy, for sure, and your feelings are all over the place as you recount each and every minor detail, which leads you to why you invited her over in the first place: what the fuck do you do about Eddie Munson?
Holly usually gives you advice. Parts of which you want to hear and take on board, parts of which you both know will be ignored. This time however, as you do your best to explain what’s been on your mind — and heart — since the rockstar arrived in New York, this time Holly doesn’t know what to say.
“I don’t know if I should forgive him.”
“Jeff says he’s been, like, super sullen all summer long. Locked in that house of his, or at the studio, working on shit he won’t let the band see.”
“That’s supposed to make it easier for me to do what, exactly? He’s secretive, that’s for sure. Hiding stuff from his band, from his sister, from me…”
You reach for the packet of smokes that Holly brought with her and light one, hand shaking ever so slightly.
“I got virtually nothing from him that night in my apartment. Slightly more under the Wonder Wheel, but still not enough to understand why he did what he did,” you exhale a puff of smoke, “Yet I can’t help but think that despite everything, especially ignoring the weeks I spent in bed because of him, we’re like meant for each other, you know?”
Holly too lights a cigarette. She also doesn’t answer you.
“That’s kinda pathetic, no?”
“I think until you get the entire truth, it won’t matter whether you get back with him or just be his friend, or whatever, ‘cause you’re not going to be fully happy. Not really,” she explains, avoiding your question because there’s close to nothing worse than admitting to your friend that they’ve lost it completely.
“So I should confront him?”
“Jeff says Eddie doesn’t do well with confrontations.”
You groan. Head falling back on the cushioned sofa.
“Maybe I should just fuck him,” you think out loud, “Get all this frustration out and then just move on with my life.”
Holly laughs. “Just don’t let him finish,” she says, “Karma’s a bitch, and whatnot.”
-
New York City is your favourite place on Earth.
Despite your years of extensive travel to tour your various albums or attend different global award shows, New York, your home, has always been top of the list. Elegant, albeit slightly messy. Organised, although a little rowdy. It’s colourful, but dull. Full of people from every corner of the world, which only added to its pre-existing charm. You didn’t really think it was possible to fall in love with it even more until you’ve started to explore it all over again with none other than Eddie Munson — under a new guise of something called friendship.
The rockstar decided to extend his trip. Currently, there is no return date. Exploring New York became the only thing on his agenda.
The two of you did your best to stay under the radar, away from prying eyes. Although, not like it was necessarily needed as Eddie’s idea of sight seeing involved bar hopping. Old-ish, rather shitty places that have definitely seen better days, but Eddie, he was like a kid in a candy store. With every beer poured and every bowl of peanuts shared, he lit up more and more.
“They remind me of home,” he finally explains, two days into your NYC adventure. “Of Hawkins.”
You smile at him, but don’t say anything.
“What?” Eddie asks when he notices the look, mouth now full after taking another handful of the perhaps hundredth packet of peanuts the two of you have shared over the last few days.
“I don’t know,” you shrug, swirling the gold-ish liquid inside your beer bottle, “I guess it’s just nice that some small part of my home reminds you of your home.”
Eddie returns the fond expression. Friends is good, he thinks at that moment while catching another peanut with his mouth, not ideal, but good.
“There was this bar,” he says, leaning across the table so that he could be a little closer to you, “The Hideout. Our first venue, outside of Gareth’s garage, and the only place in my crappy hometown where I didn’t feel like an outsider.”
“Places like the Hideout, places like this.” Eddie swirls his finger in the air to show he means your current location, “They’ll always have a special place in my heart, I guess. They’re a part of me. Part of Corroded Coffin history.”
He stares at you for a minute. He’d never share this much with a friend, so perhaps this new concept you’ve both found yourselves in is not as good as the rockstar would like to think. “We could try being friends?” — Eddie’s second guessing his suggestion just as fast as he came up with it.
“We should see more of your home,” he finally states, “As much as I love them, I think we’ve seen all the dingy bars New York has to offer, so I’m open to suggestions.”
You bring the beer bottle to your lips and take a slow sip of the now semi-warm liquid, pondering his request.
Where could you take Eddie that would represent your love for New York. The Statue of Liberty seems a little basic, as does Times Square — especially since you’ve both performed there in the past. Rockefeller Centre to see the street performers? The Met, even though both of you will most likely be invited next year to the exhibit. In reality, all of the touristy spots like Central Park, for example, would be a little too crowded for either of you to feel safe and remain unseen.
Then your eyes glisten with an idea.
What’s more homey than a home itself: Cove City Sound Studios.
To any average person, it was just another recording studio found in New York. One of hundreds. To you however, it was heaven on earth.
Located in Glen Cove, New York, Cove City Sound Studios had been home to many artists before you came along. A lot of albums were recorded here. A lot of number one hits — the list of which you were lucky to join more than once.
You always thought the ambiance of this place fueled your creativity. Often said the reason behind your resounding success was because you got the opportunity to record here. Of course Holly, Val, and especially your Nana, corrected you every time those words had left your lips. “You’re the reason behind your success,” your Nana would affirm, “Not some recording studio.”.
But you knew. Felt it deep within your bones. Cove City Sound Studios was magic.
“Damn,” Eddie mutters under his breath, fingers gently running across the various buttons as his doe-eyes dart across the posters on the wall — one of which features your 1985 album cover (a record once hidden under Eddie’s bed back in Hawkins).
“Here I thought the place we recorded Honesty in was impressive,” he admits, “This though, this is another level.”
A smile circles your lips.
“Welcome to my home, Eddie Munson.”
The rockstar dips his head, sort of in a way of a little bow, and smiles so wide it makes your insides flutter. Friends, friends, friends. You repeat inside your mind, same thing Eddie is doing, although neither of you are aware. Friends hiding their true feelings.
“I’m honoured, sweetheart.” Eddie adds, placing a ring-clad hand on his heart.
“As you should be,” you tease and walk past him, pushing open a door into the vocal booth.
The Corroded Coffin frontman follows you with zero to no hesitation. He watches as you slowly circle the small room before standing in front of a microphone, adjusting it to your height.
“I recorded every single one of my songs here apart from Honesty,” you reveal without looking at him. Focusing instead on tightening the metal rod in place. “Hundreds of records that will probably never see the light of day because my label doesn’t think they are good enough.”
Eddie snorts. “As if you could make something that wasn’t deemed good. We wrote shit together, remember? I know how good you are.”
Your lips twist into a timid smile and glance up at him from your lashes. “I appreciate that Eds, but unfortunately the industry doesn’t work that way and you, of all people, should understand.”
“Well, yeah, but doesn’t your grandmother have some sort of special power to get you whatever the fuck you want.”
It’s your turn to snort. “She may be resourceful, but she’s got no control over my management team. Even if she likes to think she does, the only real ability my Nana possesses is tell me what to wear and how to act.”
Eddie nods, taking note of this information. Knowledge he can use to free himself from deceit, blackmail.
Valuable insight into the evil woman that ruined his life since, as you’ve now so beautifully explained, she’s not nearly as formidable as she presented herself to be. A light at the end of the tunnel.
“Perhaps that’s why I can’t bring myself to listen to it,” you say, breaking Eddie away from his thoughts.
“What?”
“Perhaps that’s why I can’t bring myself to listen to Honesty. Because I didn’t record it here.” Nothing to do with the fact that it’s soiled by the memory of the last morning we saw each other, you think, clearly lying to yourself, and him.
Eddie swallows his breath. A twinge of guilt rushes through him. Actually, more than a twinge. A gush, like a waterfall out of control. He’s sure of it now. The two of you could never be just friends. Not until you knew the whole truth about why he did what he did and now that he knew your grandmother had a weakness in her armour, perhaps offering you the truth is something he could do sooner rather than later.
“Then maybe we should change that,” Eddie offers and proceeds to quickly shuffle out of the room, leaving you alone for a second.
You watch through the glass separating the two spaces as he scans the buttons, hands on his hips, tip of his tongue out to indicate he’s thinking. He looks cute and you fail to conceal a smile, so you opt to hang your head and stare at your shoes because you can’t afford to think he’s any sort of desirable. Just friends.
After taking a moment to familiarise himself with a new system, Eddie finds what he’s looking for and switches it on, before hurrying back to stand next to you.
“Ready?”
“Ready,” you affirm while putting a pair of headphones on.
For the next four minutes and twenty-two seconds, you get lost in the chocolate of Eddie’s eyes as you once again sing the song he wrote about you.
“Honestly, you got me fallin’ to my knees
It’s like ecstasy, this feelin’ inside of me
Let’s call it honesty”
Cove City Sound Studios creates magic. You’ve always believed it and now it’s only been affirmed because the way your voice melts with his — no band, no distractions — is nothing short of perfection.
“You’re a devil in disguise
No, that’s what I want you to be
‘Cause in reality, hon’, you’re a hypnotic dream
An angel for sure
To a non-believer like me
Oh honesty, what have you done to me, honestly”
That’s why the song was a hit in the first place. Now you understand why your management team pushed you to do this collaboration in the first place. Magic. And as Eddie draws the last syllable without breaking eye contact, you’re transported back to the night you met. The night that inspired this song.
The night that started all of this.
His mind wanders to the same moment, same place, same spot. Friendship is a word that no longer makes sense, but the rockstar doesn’t want to ruin anything (again), so he drops the headphones and exits the booth without saying anything.
You follow him with your gaze. A feeling of longing spreads through you faster than you know what to do with it. It’s unfortunately accompanied by fear because you’re not stupid, far from it. Eddie’s hurt you twice before. Going back in only to get burned a third time would be a grave mistake and you know better than to go down that road again. ‘Cause you do know better, right?
Then this morning’s conversation with Holly enters your mind. Your best friend was right. You could never be happy around him if you didn’t know the truth.
“Eddie, can I ask you something?”
“Sure.”
“Do you think if you didn’t end things when you did, we’d still be together? Or do you think we were doomed regardless?”
He takes a moment to answer. Avoiding looking up through the glass to meet your curious gaze, anxious for an answer.
“I already told you.” His deep voice eventually booms through the speakers. “I’m not the relationship type.”
“Bullshit,” you’re quick to state. It comes out harsher than intended.
“Sweetheart—” He’s shaking his head, still without looking at you.
“No, don’t you fucking dare,” you interrupt, suddenly feeling deflated by this whole situation, defeated in the fight against your feelings towards him. “Like I said before, you don’t get to sweetheart me and give me some bullshit vague answer.”
Eddie’s eyes are now closed. He’s hoping if he shows how he wants no part of this conversation — not right now, not before he gets to speak to your management and then offers you up the truth — that you will let it go. Like you did that night in Coney Island and those last few days too. You seemingly let it go and everything was okay. Fucking friends.
“I gave in too quickly. Into your presence. I missed you so much that when you showed up at my door, it didn’t matter how angry or heartbroken I was. All that mattered was seeing you again and being around you again. But I should’ve stood my ground.”
You’re now standing right in front of the glass window. Arms hanging by your side, nails digging into your palms to pump the adrenaline that’s fueling this fight.
“No matter how many times you tell me that you’re not the relationship type, I won’t believe you. I refuse to believe you because that guy I met in an empty kitchen of a Hidden Hills mansion was looking for something more than a random hook up. He may not have said it, but he proved it with his actions,” you continue your reasonings, “He craved something meaningful. I saw it in the way he smiled every time his eyes met mine, and sensed it in the way he held me close.”
Then you exhale.
“That guy, although hiding behind a mask of an arrogant  dickhead, he wanted to be loved and Jesus Christ did I—”
Eddie’s gaze snaps to you then, widening.
“But if I got it all wrong,” you continue after a few seconds, “If I misunderstood that guy and what he really wanted, then all I need is for him to be straight with me,” you conclude, “No bullshit excuses, Eddie. If you simply didn’t like me, if you simply didn’t care, just say that and we can both carry on with our lives as if nothing ever happened.”
The door slams. Eddie stands in front of you in a flash, brown eyes holding onto yours with force. He’s agitated. He runs a hand down his face before reaching for your shoulders, then dropping his arms back by his side just as fast.
“I cared, of course I cared!” He exhales to compose himself before continuing, “I still care.” It’s barely a whisper.
“Then why?”
“I-I… Well, I just…”
His mind is racing to find the right answer. The truth is what you’re after, unfortunately that’s the one thing he can’t give you yet. Not if he wants to continue witnessing your success. Because, at the end of the day, his own fame and fortune is no longer important. He could care less if it burned to the ground. Your fame however, your fortune, that’s not something Eddie’s willing to gamble. So again, until he can speak to your management, get ahead of your grandmother’s scheming, the truth will remain sealed.
At least some part of it.
“There was this girl. Back home.” Eddie begins, voice shaky, “Before you, she was the only girl that ever saw me for who I really was.”
“Chrissy Cunningham,” you say her name.
Eddie nods.
“Yeah, Chrissy,” he repeats the name. It tastes a little foreign on his tongue after all this time. “Seemingly the classic cheerleader type, you know? Blonde, preppy, always fucking smiling. But Chrissy, she uh… she was far from just a cheerleader. Like me, she was a little misunderstood and that’s what initially brought us together.”
“What happened to her?” You ask. “You keep saying ‘was’. Chrissy was, as if she’s no longer—”
“Look, sweetheart,” Eddie interrupts, “I-I don’t really talk about her. I don’t like to. Too many bad memories.”
“Right,” you murmur, nodding slowly.
“Long story short, I cared for her and it didn’t end well, so when my care for you started to surpass that feeling… I just got scared.”
“Then why not tell me about her in the first place?” You query, “We could’ve talked it out. Pumped the brakes on whatever our relationship was starting to become.”
Eddie doesn’t mean to, but he scoffs. “And then what, huh? Just tip-toe around how we’re actually feeling until that builds resentment? Then it just ends anyway, but it hurts a lot more, no?”
He’s running a hand through his wild locks. Frustrated wouldn’t be the right word. Annoyed feels borderline the same. Angry, yes, but not at you. Angry at the world for introducing such a perfect character into his otherwise shitty life because he’d be better off without you. No. You’d be better off without him? Also no. Jesus Christ, he’s fucking confused.
“That’s what you asked. If I didn’t end things, would we still be together. The truth is, sweetheart, I don’t know because I attract bad shit and people get hurt and… And I need you to be happy, with or without me.”
Silence falls upon the two of you. It’s heavy with the half-truths that were just revealed. Heavy with the underlying tones that are telling you Eddie still cares, and telling him that so do you — more than either of you were willing to admit back then, and even less now.
And there’s definitely feelings there. They bubbled up the second you laid your eyes on him again and as your few days together passed without a major blowout, they only grew stronger — something you explained to Holly, who said that Eddie was so unlike you, it only made sense to feel something towards him. Love him, even.
Perhaps the hurt was worth it.
“Oh, fuck.”
“What?” Eddie’s brows string together as you momentarily glance at your feet before settling your gaze back on the rockstar.
“Guess we were never supposed to do this right.”
“What?” Eddie asks again.
“You said that to me. Back in LA after that picture of us was leaked to the press, remember?”
“Vaguely,” he answers.
“What if you were right?” You ask, tone a little quieter than seconds prior.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart, but I’m not sure I’m following.”
Decided on your next move, in what you want to happen, you take a step towards the Corroded Coffin frontman so that the tips of your heels are touching his loosely tied Converse. You then place a hand on his chest, albeit hesitantly, and Eddie inhales a sharp breath (loud enough for you to hear).
“What if all of this, everything that happened between us, is because we were never meant to do this right in the first place, Eds?”
A timid smile circles your lips as the question you asked settles in the air. Loaded full of uncertainty for the future and everything that time ahead holds for the two of you. Your Nana would say that a person of your stature shouldn’t give into uncertainty, something that in Eddie’s case was often repeated by Marianne. Everything is always meticulously planned. No room for error because uncertainty leads to mistakes and those are a nightmare for your respective PR teams. Unfortunately for those teams, uncertainty is what drew you to each other in the first place.
That, and insane fucking attraction.
“I did come here because I regret my decision,” he says while you say, “I miss you.” Both come out at the same time. Mumbled, jumbled together. It registers though.
Without giving it a second thought, Eddie dips his head lower while his hands reach for your face, ring-clad fingers now holding your cheeks. In that same breath, his lips crash against yours in a yearning kiss — one that is fuelled by months of pent up tension and a desire you both shared since your first meeting back in August of ‘92.
It's a dance of fire. One that is burning bigger and brighter with every second his mouth is attached to yours. Dangerous, would be a good word to describe this moment, but the line has been crossed yet again and since there’s definitely no going back now, your fingers tangle themselves in his brown locks as you push your body closer. Eddie also gets braver. He bites down on your bottom lip and when you gasp ever so softly, the rockstar slides his tongue in with ease.
You feel elated. This is exactly what you’ve been missing and by the way Eddie’s tongue twirls within your mouth, hands squishing your face, afraid to let go, you know it’s what he’s been missing too.
It’s destructive, for sure. But the hurt is worth it. You know that now. You feel it. Every single fibre of your being grows more and more alive as Eddie presses into you further, as he caresses your skin with so much tenderness. And you’re beyond cloud nine. Beyond touching heaven. It’s destructive, but it’s bliss.
“If we keep kissing like this,” he whispers against your lips, forehead pressing against yours, “I’m afraid I won’t be able to contain myself.”
“Who says you have to?”
Eddie groans against your jawline before continuing to trail soft pecks along your skin until he reaches your ear, biting it gently.
“We should probably talk about what this means,” he says, but you just shake your head. “‘Cause friends don’t kiss like that, sweetheart.”
“I don’t care about that now, Eds.” You affirm, sure of what you want. Sure that you don’t ever want to forget him or move on. He is a part of you, forever. “I just want you.”
And with that your lips finds his again.
The kiss is feverish, messy. You’re tugging at each other’s clothes, desperately trying to get them out of the way as fast as possible. In an attempt to be even closer, propelled by an indescribable urge, Eddie shifts your positions so that his back is the one to the room, you’re by the wall, and mere seconds later, your back is pressed firmly against his chest.
His strong hands send shivers through your body as they make their way down until they reach your panties, skirt long disregarded, a garment on the floor. He no longer hesitates about what this means, ripping the material down before his feet are kicking your legs apart. Ring-clad fingers slide along the curve of your ass, kneading the flesh, desperate to feel you. All of you. And as one hand works to unzip his pants, the other works its way to your wet entrance, feeling along your slit.
“Please, please…” The excitement causes you to grow warm and moist in his hand.
He can’t contain himself. Removing his hand in a rapid manner, he pushes his cock inside of your starved pussy. You close your eyes at the contact and Eddie begins to fuck you, hard. Rhythm picks up rapidly and you’re clenching around him in a matter of minutes, lower muscles seizing at the contact they’ve long forgotten, but were now more than pleasantly reminded of.
“God,” he groans, “I fucking missed you.”
The moan that escapes your lips is nothing short of pornographic. It’s a direct response to his words, as well as his actions. He’s pounding into you relentlessly. There’s no time for pleasantries or any sort of softness. This is all about fulfilling a need-based desire and you’re more than willing to comply, high on his voice when he praises “Fuck, baby”, and “You’re doing so good for me, pretty girl.”
When you feel his hands grip your hips, you moan his name. Loud, pathetic. Undone. The rockstar begins to bounce you against him. Your knees weaken and you fall back onto him, head now resting on his shoulder, losing yourself completely in the moment and the pure ecstasy that you’re feeling. The pleasure is almost too much for you.
“Eddie, I’m so close,” you whisper, looking up at him through your lashes.
The Corroded Coffin frontman captures your mouth with his. Short, but far from sweet is the kiss. Hungry and devilish. He bites your bottom lip as he pulls away, drawing just a prick of blood.
“Let go for me, baby.”
When you do, obeying his request, your whole body shivers harshly in his embrace. Eddie keeps going, only his pace has slowed. He’s whispering sweet-nothings into your ear, continuously praising you for being his good girl, and you promise yourself that no matter what happens next, you’re going to be that forever.
The high soon ends and Eddie pushes you forward gently. You then feel the rockstar’s cock leave you, warm cum spurting over your ass without warning. You’re delighting in the feeling of his juices on your skin. He delights in it too, trailing his fingers over your rear until you turn around to face him.
There’s a smile on your face. Devious, yet benevolent.
Yes, Eddie thinks, Stevie Nicks was definitely right. ‘You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you.’ Not like he’d ever want to anyway.

Is it time for a Steddie time travel fix-it AU? (yes)
A03
There’s something wrong with Steve Harrington.
It’s not that Eddie’s watching him. Not that he pays any special attention to him. But the guy is noticeable. He’s the closest thing Hawkins has to royalty: Rich. Star athlete. Attractive. He’s the cliche golden boy of every teen movie with his polos and letterman jacket and vacant, pretty smile as he walks down hallways with his arm around the girl-of-the-week. He’s a predictable staple; a static figure in the horror script that is Eddie’s high school existence.
So when Steve Harrington shows up to school on an otherwise ordinary Wednesday looking and acting really fucking different, Eddie notices.
Well, he doesn’t actually look all that different. The clothes are normal. But his hair is far from its typical careful coiffure, and there’s a frantic energy to him as he shoves his way through the double doors and jogs into the empty hallway.
He doesn’t see Eddie, tucked in the bathroom alcove.
The only people at the school this early are the marching band kids, wrapping up their hellishly early practice, and Eddie, waiting to sell to a tuba player with no concept of how much weed should actually cost. Eddie has no intention of informing him.
Steve Harrington, pacing in front of a segment of lockers, checking his watch, shoving his fingers through his hair, is wildly out-of-place in the bright-lit early-morning hallway.
And then, things get weirder.
Because Robin Buckley exits the band room and they both freeze.
“Fuck,” she says, “are you––”
“Rob,” Steve says, and it's the most gut-wrenching sound Eddie has maybe ever heard in his life.
She throws herself at him and they hug like—Eddie doesn’t even know. Like the people you see on the news from war zones who thought their family had been killed before a miraculous reunion.
“Are you ok?” she asks, voice cracked and carrying in the empty hallway. “I woke up this morning and my mom was just acting like everything was normal and I had to get to practice and I thought maybe it had all been some fucked up dream but even I’m not that creative.” She pushes away from him, tugging up the bottom of his shirt, “what about––are you––?”
He grabs her wrist, shaking his head. “No, I’m fine. I’m completely fine. I’m just…1983 me.”
What the fuck, Eddie thinks.
Well, he’s already been thinking that, but. What does that even mean? What else would he be?
“Are the kids ok?”
What kids?
“I don’t know. I don’t have a walkie or anything anymore it’s all––” Steve gestures, “reset. And if this is ‘83 then they’re all actual children again, El might not even be––and what if they don’t––”
“They have to. I mean, if we do, they have to, right?”
Are they on drugs? Is he on drugs? The blunt he smoked last night shouldn’t cause hallucinations. He pinches himself. Ow.
The band hall doors open again and Eddie shifts further into the alcove as several horn players walk past.
“We can figure things out after school,” Steve murmurs. “We just have to hold it together until then. I don’t know if we’re stuck here or not but if we are––”
“Right. Act normal. Just normal, 16-year-old Robin things. No problem.”
They grab each other again, a tight, desperate, embrace that is not at all normal, Eddie feels it’s important to point out. He didn’t even think that Harrington knew Buckley existed. It’s almost as strange as if Harrington decided to hug Eddie. Inexplicable.
They separate, Robin rubbing at her eyes and Harrington muttering something about not remembering his locker combination. Eddie’s customer arrives before he can decide if he wants to investigate things further.
Focusing in his first period is even more impossible than usual. Focusing on math is tedious enough normally, but when Robin Buckley and Steve Harrington are having some sort of shared nervous breakdown it’s even harder to care about logarithmic functions.
He sees Steve again in the hallway after first period and Eddie will admit he’s actively looking for him now. Steve is talking in hushed tones to Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Beyers of all people. His hair is an absolute wreck, and his posture is…Eddie doesn’t know how to describe it. 'Aggressive' isn’t quite right but it’s close.
And then, like Harrington has some sort of intuition he’s being watched, he glances up and meets Eddie’s eyes.
Eddie doesn’t know why he runs. His fight or flight instincts have been well-honed his 4 years at Hawkins High and there’s something about the feral-ness in Steve’s stance, the completely unfathomable emotion in his eyes, that has Eddie shoving his way around the corner and into the bathroom. He drops his lunchbox into the sink and pushes both hands into his hair with a quietly muttered: “fuck.” He feels like he might be going crazy.
The door opens.
“Eddie,” Steve says.
It sounds strangely similar to the way he’d said “Rob” that morning–full of something Eddie doesn’t understand.
“Harrington,” he says warily.
Steve takes two steps forward and Eddie automatically scrambles backward, running into the wall and bashing his elbow against the paper towel dispenser. Steve has never actually hurt him before, but some of the guys he hangs out with have and—
Steve freezes: both hands out, reaching for nothing.
“You don’t—?”
There’s a question, there, but Eddie has no idea what it is.
“Eddie?” he says again. This time, it’s desperate and Eddie has no idea why.
The only time he’s ever seen someone’s eyes look like this is when he was looking at his own reflection in the church’s bathroom mirror, clinging to the sink at his mother’s funeral.
“Yeah?” Eddie asks.
Steve’s jaw works. “You don’t remember,” he says blankly.
“Remember what? You’re kinda freaking me out, dude, which is impressive, considering,” he gestures expansively to himself, gives a little shake of his hips so the chains rattle.
Steve doesn’t laugh.
“You don’t remember,” he repeats, more to himself than Eddie. “But you’re ok?”
He’s looking at Eddie’s chest.
“Yes? A-okay. Tip top. Hagan barely touched me yesterday, if that’s what you’re talking about.”
“Tommy hurt you?” Steve says.
Well, shit. The crazy eyes are back.
“Man, why do you care?”
“Sorry,” Steve says. “I’m sorry, I know this doesn’t make any sense to you, but can I just–”
Eddie lets him approach, this time. Lets him reach out to touch. It’s just one hand, at first, tentative, like Steve is expecting to be rebuffed, palm cupped to the ball of his shoulder over his jacket. “Sorry,” he says again, letting go only to reach for the hem of Eddie’s shirt, “Sorry, I know I probably sound crazy, I just––” he pulls it up, stares at Eddie’s side, and then lets out a hysterical little noise that sounds like a cross between a laugh and a sob.
“You’re ok,” he says.
His fingers are hot on Eddie’s skin, pressed light and shockingly reverent to the space between his hip and rib cage.
“You’re ok,” he repeats. It sounds like he’s trying to convince himself.
“Hey,” Eddie says, it comes out more breathless than he’d prefer but Steve fucking Harrington has him backed against a wall in a bathroom with his hands up Eddie’s shirt so he thinks a little lack of air is warranted. “Are you ok?”
The fingers on his abdomen flex.
“No,” Steve says. His eyes are wide and fathomless and the look on his face is terrible. “No, I’m not even remotely ok.”
It sounds like a confession.
Steve lets go of Eddie’s shirt.
He takes a studied step back but then stops, palm still splayed on Eddie’s side, free hand reaching for Eddie’s arm, for his elbow, to cling, like he can’t quite force himself to stop touching; not yet. He’s looking at Eddie like Eddie has broken his heart which doesn’t make any sense because they don’t know each other. They’ve never spoken directly to each other in their lives. So there’s no reason that Steve should be looking at him, like, like––
Like he is.
They’re breathing each other’s second-hand air and Eddie can smell him and there have only been a few times in his life when a boy has looked at Eddie with even half the want that Steve Harrington is looking at him with now. And never, never has a man who looks like Steve Harrington looked at Eddie with anything approaching whatever the hell is on Steve’s face.
“Eddie,” Steve says, and he sounds so lost.
Eddie’s not proud of it.
He runs away.
He shoves Steve to the side, wrenches open the door, and runs without stopping through the hall, outside, down the sidewalk, and onto the main road. He runs until he has to stop because he can’t breathe and only then does he bend over, hands braced on knees, and look behind him. He almost expects to see Steve has followed him.
He hasn’t.
Eddie can't decide if he's relieved by that or not. And then he realizes he’s left his entire stash in the lunchbox in the bathroom.
“Fuck,” he hisses, straightening, hands on his head, lungs aching.
“Fuck,” he says again, just for the hell of it.
He has no idea what’s happening.
But what he does know is that something is seriously wrong with Steve Harrington.
Pt2 here.

Hiii! Can I request heartsteel Kayn with a pregnant reader? Thank you <3
✿ Prompt: Kayn wants to prove he can provide for you and your unborn child ✿
♡ champion focus: kayn ♡ tw: none! ♡ Female reader
Author’s Note: I thought this prompt was super cute! ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ Hope you like these little headcanons I had in mind! PS: Kayn is not the father in this short :-D Sorry if that is what you were expecting!
Tumblr media
There is no secret that Kayn is fantastic with kids, especially because he acted like one himself! He was messy and immature, always causing fights and pissing people off.
He just... Preferred if people didn't see his soft side for them.
The last thing he needs the public to believe is that Kayn Shieda is soft. That would only result in the paparazzi and every idiotic press reporter thinking it's okay to step into Kayn's line of sight! And Kayn believes his time and his looks are expensive. Why should anyone get pictures of him for free?
When Kayn met you, he didn't expect to one day fall hard for you. And he sure as hell didn't expect to love the child you were carrying just as much, if not more, than he did you.
Rumors can be extremely nasty. Kayn would be a fool to not admit that he was embarrassed at one point to be seen in public with you. He didn't want people to harass you, let alone believe that the child you were carrying was his. Kayn was grateful that you would step in and publicly deny the rumors. He was glad that you understood his perspective. That only made him respect and admire you even more.
He values your friendship. So much so that he took care of you. He was always there for you: Every appointment, every milestone, every day you felt sick, and every time you just needed a shoulder to cry on. What the father of your child lacked, Kayn made up for.
He would surprise you with food and plushies, especially on days that were harder than others! He would hold your hand whenever you were scared during your appointments because he was scared too. He would always help you put your shoes on, take them off, and make sure you were comfortable and safe before he returned home. And even when he knew you were okay, he would still call and make sure as soon as he got home!
It surprised the other members of his band- Seeing Kayn so responsible and caring. So... Soft. It was surprising to see the rockstar so willing to make an effort for somebody. And they all knew right off the bat: Kayn was in love.
Kayn may not want to admit it, but eventually, he came to terms with it. There was no denying that he had feelings for you. It was only a matter of finding out if you returned them.
Eventually, when the two of you did get together, the pink-haired and daring rebel promised you that he would step up. But you weren't sure if there was more he could possibly do, especially with how much you felt he did already!
It only surprised you that Kayn was able to do much more. So much more than you anticipated.
He prepped a room in his apartment for your child and allowed you to move in with him. It was a form of reassurance to Kayn! He wanted to guarantee you were secure and felt you would be more equipped to take on the final months of your pregnancy with him rather than on your own!
He made sure the other guys were just a phone call away if you needed anything at all if he was unable to be there.
And the one thing you loved more than anything was the way he would hold you at night. His arms would wrap around you from behind while his hand would gently rest atop your tummy. And he would always express his excitement to meet your child. And even though they wouldn't be related by blood, he would still love them and more all the same.
Kayn is desperate to prove he could be a good role model to your child! And even though he can be reckless, immature, and an all-around jackass, you wouldn't have any other man at your side than him.

Things They Do After You Get Engaged – Hyung Line
Pairing: Hyung Line x Reader (not poly)
Genre: Fluff (like extremely fluffy fluff)
Word Count: 1.0K
A/N: hyung line forever
Tumblr media
Jin
“Jin, not again,” you whispered in panic to your fiancé, looking around at the many pairs of eyes staring at you in the park. You gave a soft smile to an elderly woman who was holding a hand to her heart, watching the two of you with fond eyes.
“Y/N, you are the love of my life. I am so lucky to call you mine. Will you be my wife? Marry me?” Jin asked, holding onto your left hand. He raised it to his lips, giving you a wink as he placed a gentle kiss to the back of it. Your cheeks flushed pink at his actions, shaking your head at your ridiculous life partner with affection.
“Yes, of course I will,” you said, letting out a sigh as the bystanders surrounding the two of you broke out into light applause. Jin smiled at you, standing up as he took you in his arms.
“Sweetheart, you can’t propose every time we are out in public,” you murmured into his chest, recovering from the slight embarrassment you felt as a result of Jin’s public display of affection.
“But then how will people know how much I love you?” Jin asked seriously, pulling back to look at you. You held up your left hand, the diamond glinting in the sunshine.
“I think that was the whole point of this,” you said. “Remember how you gave it to me the first time you proposed?”
“Ah yes, well, I just like reliving my favorite moment,” Jin said, taking your hand in his and entwining your fingers so you could carry on with your walk.
“Is this going to stop any time soon?” you asked.
“Hmm, I’m not sure, want me to ask again?”
“You’re insufferable,” you groaned.
“Good thing you love me anyway,” Jin said, wrapping his arm snuggly around you.
“Aren’t you lucky,” you teased.
“Yes, yes, I am.”
Tumblr media
Yoongi
“What are you doing?” Yoongi asked, glancing over at you with a confused expression behind his glasses.
You were frantically searching for your engagement ring underneath the kitchen table, hoping the sixth place you looked would finally be successful. You placed the ring in the same place every night before bed; this morning, it wasn’t there.
“Yoongi, get over here and come help me,” you said, frantically sweeping the wood floor with your eyes trying to spot a glimpse of the silver band.
“Babe, slow down, what’s wrong?” Yoongi asked, standing in front of you, hands on your shoulders to force you to stop your manic search efforts.
“I can’t find it,” you wailed, starting to break down from frustration. “My engagement ring—it’s gone!”
Much to your surprise, Yoongi chuckled.
“What could possibly be funny at a time like this?” you nearly shouted, stepping away from him in shock. Yoongi stopped laughing at your response, but a smirk still played at his lips.
“Y/N, I took it to the jeweler to get cleaned today. I’ll pick it up tomorrow morning on my way to the studio,” Yoongi shrugged nonchalantly. Your jaw dropped open slightly in shock, relief flooding your system as you realized it was in safe hands.
“Yoongi, I swear to God, if you ever do that again without telling me,” you threatened, stepping toward him with finger extended menacingly toward him. Yoongi held his hands up, acting innocent.
“Hey, I was just trying to be nice! I know it makes you happy when your ring sparkles.”
“If you weren’t so sweet, I’d throttle you right now,” you grumbled. Yoongi looked at you with pride.
“And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my future wife.”
Tumblr media
Hoseok
This morning, it was a bright pink sticky note.
Good morning, sunshine, have a great day at work!
Yesterday, it was green.
Hello, my love, miss you already! See you at dinner!
Since the two of you got engaged, you had gotten used to occasionally seeing a neon sticky note on your dresser in the morning as you got ready for the day. Your engagement ring was always sitting next to the note, lid of the black, velvet box open to show off the beautiful diamond.
The first time it happened, you asked Hoseok about it while the two of you cuddled on the couch later that evening.
“I just want to make you smile every morning, even on the days I have to leave earlier than you for work, and I don’t get to see you,” Hoseok explained, lips pressing a kiss to the top of your head as he continued to watch the show the two of you had started. Only your fiancé could manage to say one of the most romantic things you had ever heard sound so nonchalant.
You placed the ring on your finger, admiring it for a moment. You added the sticky note to your collection of them at the bottom drawer of your jewelry box before taking out your phone to text Hobi.
Thank you for making me smile, I love you.
Tumblr media
Namjoon
You lifted the covers gently, trying not to wake your fiancé sleeping soundly next to you. You scooted under the duvet, a content sigh leaving your lips as your head finally hit the pillow. You were up late working on a project for work, Namjoon long having gone to bed before you finished for the night.
You reached over his sleeping form to turn off his bedside lamp that he had left on. As you reached the switch, you felt Namjoon shift slightly, making you freeze.
“Love? You finally coming to bed?” Namjoon asked, his voice muffled and rough from sleep.
“Yes, go back to sleep,” you whispered, successfully turning the switch, engulfing the room in darkness.
Namjoon turned around to face you after you laid back down, eyes still closed. He reached for your left hand, bringing it up to his lips to place a kiss on the empty ring finger where your engagement ring sits throughout the day—it was a habit that Namjoon had started after the two of you became engaged a few months ago. When you took your ring off at the end of the day and the two of you went to bed, Namjoon would take your hand in his, kissing the ring finger that symbolized your future together. It never failed to make your heart flutter.
“Goodnight, Joonie,” you whispered.
“Goodnight, my love.”

Hello ! How are you doing ? Could I ask for an Adam x reader who doesn't know how to say 'no' so Adam is kinda teaching him how to ? Just reader sweating profusely, looking at Adam, who's making big "No no" signs. I live in a community (?) and my asocial ass is /not/ liking it. I generally act like I'm napping when they're calling me (yes they can't see me but I still pretend in case there's invisible cameras) but when it's face to face, oh lord have mercy... I say yes. I hate driving (I'm a bad driver when I have people in my car...).
Thank you if you do it ! <3
As someone who had to learn that saying "no" is not only okay but also important, I love this request so much!! <3 I hope you like it
People Pleasing doesn't rock
pairing: Adam x male!reader
warnings: language
note: not beta read bc fuck you I don't have beta readers
Saying no to things, especially people close to you, has always been a struggle, even during your days on earth. And living in heaven hadn't changed much about it. Well that wasn't entirely true, while living in heaven itself hadn't changed anything about that, Adam had. Or at least he was trying to.
He had started to realize that right when you met him. He had invited you to one of his concerts and while you really wanted to go, big crowds weren't your thing, they usually caused panic. Yet you couldn't bring yourself to say no, so you agreed. It ended with a panic attack for you and overwhelm for Adam and his band mates since none of them had known what to do. Luckily Lute had carried you through it - a thing you were forever thankful for.
Adam's arm was wrapped around your shoulders, his hand held onto yours to spend you comfort. While you were used to heaven and its people, it didn't mean that your panic was kicking in any less. However when you saw a familiar face in the distance, your mood changed a little and you gave them a bright smile, it was one of your closest friends. They walked right towards you and you poked Adam's side as the first man sighed as he noticed them. They weren't his favorite, in his opinion they were too pressuring and talked you into stuff more than they accepted you not wanting to do certain things. But it wasn't his place to tell you who to hang out with so he remained quiet.
“Hey Y/N,” they greeted you with a warm smile and the three of you stopped so that you and them could have a conversation. “Sup, are you doing okay?” They nodded before changing the topic from smalltalk to whatever it was they wanted to talk about, “So you know how I have this project going on?” You thought about it for a moment before you remembered what they were talking about, “Oh yeah, you mean that art project of yours, right? How's it going?” Their face scrunched up unpleasantly and they broke eye contact, “Not well to be honest and I thought-” Adam interrupted them rudely, his hand gave yours a soft squeeze as he spoke, “And you thought he could help you fix the motherfucking mess you created to save your own fucking ass, didn't you?” You looked up at Adam, the LED face of his mask represented the annoyance his voice had given away quite well, it was visible that he was having none of it.
You looked at your friend in front of you, “Is that true?” They seemed uncomfortable with the way Adam had worded their need even though he was right about it, “Well, sort of, I-” Yet again they were interrupted by Adam, “No.” And oh dear mighty Lord you thanked Adam for disagreeing with them. Because while you loved them, they asked for you to correct their mistakes a little too often. “I think Y/N can speak for himself,” they hissed at Adam who simply flipped them off. “Okay, hear it from him yourself then,” he gently squeezed your hand again and offered you a reassuring look. He'd have your back if they wouldn't respect your no, he'd get you out of the situation if you couldn't do it yourself. So you inhaled deeply and muttered, “Sorry, can't help you,” the words were spoken fast, almost too fast to process but your friend had managed to anyway. “But-” Adam's index finger was onto their lips within a heartbeat, shushing them without a word. “He said no, go look for some other fucker who's willing to fix your fucking mistakes,” and with that the first man lead you away from them.
“Thanks,” you mumbled as you rested your head against his upper arm, still walking the streets. “Yeah, don't fucking mention it. But your ass really needs to learn how to stick the fuck up for yourself,” you sighed at his words, knowing he was right. You couldn't agree to anything, that would lead to you doing everyone's work, fixing everyone's life and drowning in your own problems. “But you did fucking great today, so how about we have your favorite dinner later, huh?” And at that you beamed at him, pure joy was visible in your eyes and he loved to see you that way. God help him, he'd do way too much to see you happy.

Laughing, you ran with your best friend, Noah, through the late summer rain, your destination the bar about 200 meters in front of you.
“Wait!” You shouted after him as he sprinted away. “I can’t keep up with you, giraffe!”
“Did you just call me giraffe?” He wanted to know. He held his chest as if you had shot him with your words.
You were still laughing when you finally came to a stop in front of the bar. You leaned your head against his chest as you tried to contain your breaths and laughter, totally forgetting about the rain around you.
You hadn’t seen Noah in a while, since he was away for tour for almost three months. When you first met years ago at a small concert of his band, you were basically attached at the hip as soon as he came home from tour. In fact, it was so bad that your friends started calling you an old married couple.
At first you laughed it off but as soon as you really put your mind into it, you started to see it too. You were acting like an old married couple. You in fact did almost everything that would make people think you are a couple, except of the physical aspects like kissing or been intimate.
So, when you stepped inside the bar you chose for tonight, it wasn’t weird that he held your hand as he guided you to a free table.
You sat side by side at the table, your bodies almost touching, but not quite. The space between you felt charged with energy, but neither of you dared to acknowledge it. The air was thick with desire, the longing in your hearts growing stronger with each passing moment.
As the evening unfolded, you couldn't help but steal glances at Noah when he wasn't looking. His dark hair framed his handsome face, and his eyes, like twin pools of endless depth, held a hint of something he hadn't yet expressed. You admired the way his lips curved when he smiled, the way his laughter resonated in your soul. Every stolen look, every accidental touch, only fueled the growing fire inside you.
Noah, too, was trapped in a whirlwind of emotions. He couldn't concentrate on anything but you. The way your eyes sparkled with mischief, the softness of your voice when you spoke, and the way you laughed as if the world had no hold on you—it all consumed him. He found himself longing for something more, something he couldn't quite put into words and also didn’t dare to even try for the risk of your friendship.
He loved your company. In fact, he loved it so much that he almost started to crave it when he was away. “Coming home” started to become “coming back to you” for him.
The night carried on, and the tension between you continued to build. You both enjoyed having each other around again. The air felt electric, charged with unspoken words and unfulfilled desires.
Than something, or better someone, distraught you little bubble of happiness and closeness. When Noah went to the bathroom, a stranger sauntered up to the table you were seated at. The stranger’s eyes fixated on you, causing to form an unpleasant goose bumps on your body. The guy’s grin was flirtatious as he struck up a conversation. Since you did not know how you’d get rid of him, you engaged in polite small talk, trying to let the stranger's innuendos fly over your head.
When Noah made his way back to your table, his heart twisted painfully as he watched this stranger invade his personal space with you. Noah felt how this fierce and possessive emotion crept up inside of him, even though he knew he had no right to feel that way. You could do whatever you wanted. You weren’t his girlfriend. But in situations like this, he wished you were. He couldn't stand the thought of someone else capturing your attention, of someone else making you smile and laugh.
Driven by an impulse he couldn't contain, Noah slid his arm around your waist while sitting down even closer next to you, pulling you to him. You felt how your cheeks heated up. His touch was possessive, a silent declaration to the stranger that you were off-limits. He shot a glare at the intruder, his voice low and laced with a hint of warning. "Sorry, but they're with me."
You turned to look at Noah, a mixture of surprise and gratitude in your eyes. The stranger, unimpressed by Noah's presence, attempted to continue his advances. "Come on, sweetheart," he said, his tone dripping with charm. "A pretty thing like you deserves someone who can show you a good time."
You felt how Noah’s grip on your waist tightened and he spoke with a hint of irritation. "I don't think they're interested. You should probably find someone else to bother."
You were taken aback by the protective edge in Noah's voice. The stranger, finally getting the hint, backing away reluctantly and leaving the two of you alone once more.
Noah's heart still raced as he met your gaze, his eyes revealing vulnerability he'd never shown before. "I couldn't stand seeing someone else hit on you," he confessed, his voice trembling slightly when he saw your surprised look.
A warmth spread through your chest as you realized the depth of Noah's feelings. "Noah," you whispered and laid a hand on his chest as he turned to face you better, your heart pounding in your chest. "I couldn't stand it either."
You noticed how his eyes flickered to your lips for a second. You felt like you were on fire when you gathered your courage and leaned a bit towards him, inviting him.
With that, the barriers between you crumbled, and you both leaned in, closing the gap between your lips. The kiss was electric, a culmination of years of pent-up emotions and unspoken desires. You felt light-headed when he grasped your face and pulled you even closer. When you finally pulled away, breathless, you smiled at each other, a shared understanding passing between you.
In that moment, you both understood that your friendship had transformed into something deeper and more profound way before this event. You were no longer just friends; you were two souls hopelessly in love, ready to explore the unknown territory of your relationship.
No one spoke a word as you smiled like idiots and held hands, continuing to enjoy your night. You couldn’t help but think that under some rare exceptional circumstances jealousy maybe had its perks. It had pushed you both to finally admit what had been feeling in your hearts all along, and now, you were free to explore the love that had been waiting for you all this time.

“Did you have your fun?”
You lift your gaze to your vanity mirror, finding your boyfriend hovering behind you by the bathroom doorframe with his lips curled and brown eyes fixed on your reflection. He looked tired, wisps of his dark hair sticking out in odd directions as if he’d just lift himself off of the softness of your shared bed. Immediately, you greet him with a soft smile of your own through the mirror, but you look over him with worried eyes. “Hi, angel. I’m so sorry. Did I wake you?”
“I wasn’t sleeping,” Jeonghan replied, humming, as he takes a step towards you. He also looked you over, taking in the dress you wore and how it fit your body tightly. He looked at the curved cutouts on the sides and how it had basically left your waist bare. Then he’s looking at the length, how it stops mere inches below the round of your ass. His mouth twitched.
“Oh, but it looked like you had just woken up!” You laugh, twisting the upper half of your body just to reach a hand up and smooth out some strands of his hair.
“I tried to, but I couldn’t really,” he said, gaze flickering back up to meet yours. “You didn’t answer my question.”
“Your question?” You blinked, really trying to remember what he had said moments prior, but if you were honest, your head still felt a little rickety from the buzz of the alcohol you had consumed.
“Did you have your fun?” Jeonghan asked again, his tone still sweet, sounding much too sweet for comfort actually.
You blanched, recognizing the subtle change in his voice instantly. “Jeonghan?”
“When I was trying to sleep,” your boyfriend went on, slowly taking your wrist in his hand and giving it a little squeeze. “Some of your friends sent me some videos.”
“Jeonghan, I —”
“At first, they were cute videos of my baby just having fun and throwing back shots. Then there were sexy ones, where my baby looks incredible in their outfit as they danced the night away.” You open your mouth to say something, but Jeonghan immediately starts again. “Then there were the ones where strangers had come up and danced with my baby.” A chuckle and you further paled. “Sleep didn’t come for me anymore when I saw that.”
Your pulse thrummed wildly, you could feel it against your ears and you’re so sure Jeonghan could feel it too with the way he held your wrist. But he let you go and instead rested his both his palms on either side of your waist that was void of any cloth. You watched him through the mirror, watched his hands smooth its way down and under your dress where you now felt his fingers toy at the band of your underwear. His skin was cold, prickling your skin and causing a shiver to run up your spine.
“I’m not mad,” Jeonghan reassured, pushing you gently until your back is pressed flush against his chest. He leaned closer, his mouth lingering just a hairsbreadth away from your ear. “I’m glad you seemed like you were enjoying yourself, but I wish I could’ve done something about the ones you danced with though.”
“I’m sorry,” you breathed out, shaky.
“But I’m not mad at you,” Jeonghan hummed, smiling at your reflection, at the slight tremble of your frame when he inches his fingers closer to your heat. “Do I have something to be mad about?”
“N-No,” you stammered out.
“You’re stuttering, baby.” His clicked his tongue, hands pulling back to rest on your waist again. “Are you sure?”
“I am!” you cry out, lifting your hips slightly as if to chase after his touch. “I swear, they approached me first. I thought it was a friend that came up to me, but when I realized it wasn’t, I left, I promise!”
Jeonghan laughed darkly. “I believe you, baby. I trust you that much.” But he did not return his hands to where it had ventured. It stayed on your waist but now he gripped on it, slowly guiding you to sway it against him in a slow, sensual dance. “If I was there and saw them approach you,” he murmured softly in your ear, his breath warm. “I would dance with you like this and show them just who exactly you belong to.”
“Baby,” you whined softly, pressing your backside harder against him, searching for his growing length hidden beneath his sweats.
“Would you be this whiny on the dance floor too?” he laughed again, but indulges you, grounding his crotch on your ass which only earns another whine from you.
“Jeonghan, please,” you sniffed, shifting your head to really look at him, letting him see the clear desperation on your face.
“What is it?” he teased, the corner of his mouth quirked when he peers down at you. “What does my baby want, hm?”
You take his hands in yours, guiding them back under your dress to where your core throbs heavily. “Please touch me,” you plead, your voice cracking. “Please?”
Jeonghan smiled, a smile sweet of venom, before his fingers at last pull your underwear to the side and press down hard on your clit. “Work for it, baby,” he drawled. “Show me how well you move these hips like you did on that dance floor.”

👏🏻 Curse!Gojo 👏🏻 Curse!Gojo 👏🏻 Curse!Gojo 👏🏻
What's his way of showing you affection in this new cursed form? We talked about how he'd be a lap dog but like....is he just laying on top of you from time to time bc he loves you and needs to see your face??
Elaborate for the peeps in the back ☺️

・curse!Satoru Gojo Headcanons・
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n・I'm so bad at formulating headcanons you know this?? also how did you find an otter emoji?? Fandom・Jujutsu Kaisen Character(s)・Satoru Gojo Tags・sloppy headcanons, curse!Gojo AU, fluff, unedited
・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・
curse!Gojo is...enormous
lets just get the physical implications of cursing the strongest jujutsu sorcerer in the world because curse!Gojo is...a lot
both in personality as well as sheer size and monstrous appearance
think...cursed Howl Pendragon, meets gluttonous No Face's limbs, owlbeast Eda Clawthorn shape with owlbeast Lilth Clawthron color palette and retractable neck
and I fully headcanon him as having no physical appearance of eyes/nose etc but a black banding around where his eyes should be and the rest of his faceless head is a very large un-hingable jaw with the rest of his face being "splashed" in white before transitioning to the bulk of his dark body
ok ok ok enough about the way the curse looks; and more about the way he acts!
like most cursed souls curse!Gojo is dangerously obsessed with you
you are his only purpose in life as well as the only thing tying him to a physical "life" and his animal instinct will not let that bond be broken no matter the cost
curse!Gojo basically feels no pain and it's scarier to see in action than it is to just think he's a stubborn fighter
he is insanely affectionate; to the point it's smothering
ideally he'd be sealed away in a cursed object but nothing can hold all of him (to no one's surprise)
so that being said curse!Gojo does at time have the annoying nuances of a shikigami or a familiar but make it 1000x worse
giant lap dog 🤝 pissy cat 🤝 needy brat
curse!Gojo likes to show his affection by planting himself right behind you and more times than not laying a part of his grotesques form on you
no idea about his actual size nor would he care if you tried to explain it to him because he just won't listen
curse!Gojo wants to be touching you at some point all the time or else he does get practically...antsy
not a good idea for him to be restless, it's in everyone's best interest for curse!Gojo to remain calm as long as possible
brings you dead curses and to no one surprise, likes to play with them! he will make it a point to have you watch him disembody things.
People, curses, animals...the only thing curse!Gojo will not touch is young individuals
that's a post for later
his ideal way to have your attention is to absolutely maul your target into a pulp right in front of you and frankly there's no other way for him to kill besides over the top right in front of you
on a less gruesome note, yes, he insists on sleeping with you
curse!Gojo thankfully has very little intention of suffocating you so he's happy to have you lay on top of him or curls up around you as the biggest spoon in the world
regretfully curse!Gojo does lick and drool when overtly excited and talks in the fastest string of broken sentences any being could
you get real good at understanding the gibberish don't worry
curse!Gojo loves "self care" and by that it means he loves having you hold his face, pick things out of his teeth, booping his non existent nose and giving him forehead kisses
exceptionally fond of carrying you and pouts when you don't let him hold you 24/7
and the most horrifying thing curse!Gojo loves to show his affection is...play wrestling
don't worry he basically just wants to engulf you in a hug and roll around with you but it can be off putting to those who are not familiar with either of you two yet

Interview: Ongaku to Hito and Sakurai Atsushi - Ichikawa Tetsushi x Kanemitsu Hiroshi, Part II
This interview is on pages 52-57 of the magazine. Footnotes are included in numbered parentheses and can be found at the bottom. For Part 1 of this interview, click here.
~~~~~~~
Ichikawa: It may have been a shock, but in short, [BUCK-TICK's] material elevated. Really, because they were able to turn their work into art, we can grasp now how they were able to bring forth a decadent rock masterpiece like 21st Cherry Boy. Although that kind of dark decadence is seen as a negative, they established it as an excellent form of entertainment, which is fantastic. When I listened to that, I wondered, “Why has Sakurai made a breakthrough to this point?” What did you make of that?
Kanemitsu: I think he was able to gradually create distance between himself and the band - in a good way. It wasn’t because their relationship had worsened, and there were still times where they’d be up until the morning drinking, but, as you might expect, after nearly 20 years had passed since they debuted, their relationships with people had expanded too, right? When that happened, this sort of scene, where Imai-san would finish an interview and the other 4 were drinking while they waited for him, it almost completely disappeared. This positive sense of individualism is how BUCK-TICK came to be born.
Ichikawa: I see. In the 21st century, I was listening to the works of B-T as a fan only, so I didn’t bear the weight of that darkness.
Kanemitsu: What I call acting out the darkness, that elevated their work as entertainment. But normally, when you have this individualism come to be, it leads to actively pursuing solo activities…and that can be troublesome, certainly.
Ichikawa: That’s the self-indulgence I talked about earlier. (laughs) When that happens in a regular band, they disband and it’s over. Suddenly some new thing starts, and the other members end up not knowing what to do. But Sakurai ended up feeling guilt about this, because he was a man with a kind heart. Thanks to that, the unique worth they had as a band that continued for 35 years with its original members came to be.
Kanemitsu: In what ways did you feel Sakurai-san’s kindness?
Ichikawa: Well, in many ways, the Sakurai Atsushi I carry with me is still a yankii(1), you know, a good-looking yankii full of chivalry. We talked about the time when his mother passed before, but there is no shortage of that kind of material. For instance, the launching issue of Ongaku to Hito. I asked Sakurai to be in it as well, and even though it wasn’t around the timing of any [album] release, he said, “Well, since it’s a magazine Ichikawa-san is creating, I’ll do it”, and in the middle of a national tour he came back to Tokyo from Numazu after the concert was over, and it was after midnight at an oden food stall in Sendagaya where we had a no-makeup photoshoot and interview. He was a man who could simply do such things.
Kanemitsu: What about Sakurai Atsushi made us so charmed by him, do you think?
Ichikawa: Hmmm…his face?
Kanemitsu: Well, that’s some brutal honesty!(2) But certainly, it was important. (laughs)
Ichikawa: Wahahaha. There’s that issue with Sakurai Atsushi on the cover where he’s wearing an unremarkable white shirt and has a slight smile, right?(3) That one is among my top three favorites. For some reason, it was a time where there weren’t any interesting releases, and there was no content to be had during this lull, so we ended up in a tight spot for an artist to put on the cover. To be honest, we made the offer to Sakurai like, “heeeelp!”, and I was grateful when he readily consented. They also didn’t have any releases coming up, so I suggested we try a risky(4) cover with no decadence, where Sakurai had a casual appearance and is looking into the camera with a smile; he had also become more concentrated(5) at that time and said, “Let’s do it!”
Kanemitsu: That’s why he cut his hair without anyone’s permission. (laughs)
Ichikawa: I’m glad we didn’t go that far with it. (laughs) But really, Sakurai Atsushi could not be detached from my magazine. There were always plenty of guys skillful at conversation, but I have never met another frontman who, even though he wasn’t good at speaking, could expose his inner thoughts to such a point. Of course, there were also those with negative feelings, like, “It’s all just to tickle the B-T girls’ fancies”, but I hoped, even without him knowing, if we could drain the low-water swamp called Sakurai Atsushi, something amazing would happen. I wanted to do something with this man. It was the same for you too, right, Kanemitsu?
Kanemitsu: I didn’t have that “I want to do something”. But I did have something like a maternal instinct. (laughs)
Ichikawa: (wry laugh) I understand that too. You can’t leave him alone.
Kanemitsu: Because at some point, there were only a few articles about the album releases outside of ours.
Ichikawa: Why was that? As I said earlier, during my time, he spoke frantically as if it was needed to confirm something to himself - so in other words, something must have changed where he could become more self-contained.
Kanemitsu: It was like Sakurai-san created his own style. As though, dressed up in decadence and gothic imagery, he tried to act out his ideal Sakurai Atsushi.
Ichikawa: The same as kabuki. The great name of “Sakurai Atsushi” was focused as he would be in the traditional Japanese arts.
Kanemitsu: Yes, yes. I think that was a good thing.
Ichikawa: It finally makes sense to me. So that’s why it happened. That Prince of Darkness character was created.
Kanemitsu: There was what you call the Prince of Darkness character, but he also loved cats, which brought out his playful face. If such a person were to appear on TV with Shiina Ringo, everyone would be hooked.
Ichikawa: A rare creature, really. (laughs) This may be inappropriate, but it seemed to me that Sakurai could only bring the curtain down(6) on Sakurai Atsushi in the way he did, or by going into a life of seclusion, unknown to anyone. Because he was carrying such sin(7) with him.
Kanemitsu: Well, as someone who saw him from the 21st century point of view, I feel that he’d aged well in this way, and he wanted to enjoy the rest of his life happily. It’s just that he was a sensitive person, so he was affected by things like children being displaced by war, the oppression of people based on gender, and so on, and when he tried to get closer to the emotions of the weak, he would be forced to remember his own pain, so I suppose in the current era, it was hard for him to live…that’s what I think, anyway.
Ichikawa: Hearing the talk about the Sakurai Atsushi of the 21st century from Kanemitsu today, it makes sense now. For me, who only knew the Sakurai of the 20th century, the Sakurai of the 21st century is like a different person. I was very fascinated with him all the same. I don’t mean this in a bad way, but it’s like he established a whole separate persona. How can I say this…maybe I could call it guilt. I could see his guilt so clearly through his songs in the 20th century, and it was made invisible in the 21st century. And, invisible things aren’t bad ones. Because that just shows how accomplished he was at fulfilling his role as Prince of Darkness. That’s also how he elevated to being a charming big name.
Kanemitsu: As a musician, an artist, the purity of his expression had reached a level so high as to be incomparable [to anyone else].
Ichikawa: His skill in the 21st century clearly went up. But, although the Sakurai Atsushi of the 20th century was still a work in progress, that progress had turned into a serious dead end that was plain to see. So there were many people who were able to empathize, and I think he himself, the band, the media, and the fans all came together, able to become a community with a shared destiny. It’s strange, but in other media, BUCK-TICK was just shown as a cool band, right? However, at Ongaku to Hito, it wasn’t like that in either the 20th or 21st century.
Kanemitsu Because we got to see them as 5 people with 5 different styles of character.
Ichikawa: In other words, they’re “Osomatsu-kun”(8).
Kanemitsu: Hahahahaha!
Ichikawa: When I was doing it, they were “Osomatsu-kun”, and while Kanemitsu’s been doing it they’ve been “Osomatsu-san”. Their appearance between the Showa and Heisei eras was totally different, but the original people were the same. In both the 20th and 21st centuries, Sakurai was Sakurai, and his foundation and attitude didn’t change, only his appearance from that of an unusual self-deprecating man to the Prince of Darkness did; as a result, he was popular in both cases. So, as Ongaku to Hito, speaking from our beginning, he is the person we should be the most grateful for, and he was the kind of man who made me feel like I had to include him in our publication.
Kanemitsu: He was. No matter how cool Sakurai Atsushi looked on the stage, everyone knows that he actually also had these traits.
Ichikawa: Of course, with that presence, that appearance, and the look in his eyes, no one would know he was actually this cute and loveable character.
Kanemitsu: Through the medium of Ongaku to Hito, you and I wrote about those parts of him, so now everyone knows.
Ichikawa: That’s true…a long time ago, when I was doing a late-night Friday FM radio live broadcast, I had Sakurai on as my first guest. We were at the Satellite Studio in Ginza, and even though I hadn't asked them to come, Takuro and Hisashi [of GLAY] came. We finished at 3 AM and the 4 of us were drinking when Sakurai said, “Will you come to my place?”, which was unusual. When we went there, the windows - all of the windows - had these pitch black curtains on them, it was like being at a planetarium. (laughs)
Kanemitsu: Hahahahahaha!
Ichikawa: We drank in that dark room until we eventually were struck by sleep, but even when I woke up, it was pitch black and I had no idea what time it was. (laughs) When the sun was at its peak, I woke those 2 [from GLAY] up and they went home, but while that was happening, Takuro said to Hisashi, “If you’d told me 10 years ago that I’d go to the home of BUCK-TICK’s Sakurai Atsushi and drink together with him, I never would have believed you”, and I’ve never forgotten that. It was purely moving, emotionally.
Kanemitsu: Everyone wanted to become like Sakurai Atsushi.
Ichikawa: It must have been a dream for them. However, it’s a dream that no one could achieve. This sounds misleading, but I think you have to want to be like Yoshiki [of X JAPAN], if you’re going to abandon yourself to despair(9). (wry laugh) But no matter what gimmicks you make use of, you’ll never be Sakurai Atsushi. And for better or worse, it was tough.
Kanemitsu: I’ve said this many times, but him finding that gothic style was big.
Ichikawa: The gothic atmosphere seemed like maybe the one he was most comfortable in. The decadence created a kind of surreal and abnormal worldview. But Sakurai Atsushi himself was not abnormal at all, nor was he trying to intentionally deviate strongly from what’s accepted(10). It was just the suit of armor(11) that best fit when he was confronting the world, definitely.
Kanemitsu: It was Sakurai Atsushi’s suit of armor, wasn’t it. But whether he ended up putting it on or not, he empathized with people’s sadness, and he was a person who could shed tears. And because that seeped out, everyone loved him. Those feelings [of empathy] were expressed in what became his last album, Izora.
Ichikawa: I see. Well, perhaps he would have continued on expressing it, if he could.
Kanemitsu: I really think so. There were yet many things he could do, and many he would have wanted to do.
~~~~~~~ Footnotes: (1) I think most people into this scene are familiar with this term, but in case you aren’t - yanki/yankii refers to a young delinquent, usually one who dresses in a sort of street/biker style. (2) If someone has ever said to you, “wow, tell us how you really feel!”, it has the same sort of feeling to it as that, although a bit more polite since Ichikawa is the elder of the two, lol. (3) I believe he is referring to the January ‘95 issue cover, based on his description. (4) Risky in the sense of something not usually done. “Nikopachi” is the type of photography he describes, and online sources generally spoke negatively of it as something not befitting professional photography. (5) Literally “boiled down”. I think this is a reference to paring back his visuals from what they were earlier in their career. (6) This is a metaphor for Sakurai’s passing - but I liked the nuance of his wording and tried to retain it. (7) This word really does not translate well - in different contexts it can be sin, guilt, karma. I translate it again as “guilt” below as it’s more befitting the context, but in all cases here, it’s a sort of heavy emotional load brought upon oneself. My husband’s preferred definition translated to “a living with the burden of past wrongdoings and feeling a sense of remorse”. (8) Per Wikipedia: a comedy manga that revolved around of group of brothers who cause all sorts of mischief. (9) I asked for more clarity on this - what he is getting at is, it’s possible, if you really want to, to become like Yoshiki, but no matter what you do, you can never become like Atsushi. (10) The direct translation for this was “be a heretic”, but heretic is a loaded word in English, and this does not have any Christian overtones. (11) He specifically says “mobile suit”, as in the suits from Gundam.

“Wish I Could Be Your Man.”
Tumblr media
I had to reshare this again this morning because I couldn’t find it any of the original hashtags I had done. And I spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME writing this for it to not get the recognition it deserves.
Pairing: Eddie Munson x female reader.
Word count: About 11k words. ( I GOT CARRIED AWAY)
Warnings: 18+, SMUTTY- FLUFFY- ANGSTY KIND OF SLOW BURN STORY. Talks of reader moving around a lot, there is angst with crying and fighting between the reader and Eddie at some point. Reader was cheated on by an ex who slept with her best friend. LOTS OF POT SMOKING.(Eddie is her dealer.) There is pussy eating, fingering, sex of course, and not really much dick sucking. No safe sex happens, (WRAP IT UP PLEASE, I AM PREGNANT BY ACCIDENT SO DON’T BE LIKE ME), Reader does drive stoned. (DO NOT DO THAT PLEASE.) Cigarette smoking, other than that I think that’s all???
I did use inspiration from Eddie’s and Chrissy scene in their first hang out.
Requested by: Anonymous, link to request is here. Overall was requested for a female reader x Eddie fic based off the ending of the song, The Summoning By Sleep Token. (I am not taking anymore request at the moment.)
Summary: Reader had moved around most of her life leaving her unwilling to let anyone close to her after having her heart broken at a young age, she’d rather spend her Senior year alone than with people who probably wouldn’t care for her. She starts working at Family Video in which she asks Steve if he knew where she could find the local dealer. After learning about Eddie Munson ,reader starts buying from him, overtime starting to grow fond of him till a small relationship forms. Eddie wants more than the reader is allowing, causing a fight to break out over him begging her to come see his band play. Reader in the end pulls her head out of her ass, and realizes she cares about the boy as much as he cares about her.
Author’s note: I WILL SAY THE BEGINING IS LONG, AND EDDIE DOESN’T COME IN FOR A MINUTE. BUT PLEASE bare with me. I HAD TO ESABILISH SOME KIND OF STORY. You don't get to see Eddie till a little over 2,000 words in. BUT I PROMISE YOU, IT’S WORTH IT.
I spent the last few days working solely on this and have proofread but it was superlong so I hope I didn’t miss anything.
But to whoever requested this I hope you enjoy the vision I had came up with.
Writing Masterlist
Hawkins, Indiana. The home of the small town high school, Hawkins High, which I'll be attending till graduation in the spring.
Other than that, Hawkins was just another small town on the list of places I've lived.
It was a place that probably won't cross my mind ever again when I leave for college in the fall just like any of the other towns I have called home over the years.
My father's job caused us to move so often that I stopped being interested in finding ties to a town I wouldn't be in for long.
Ever since getting a promotion before I went into 7th grade, he has constantly moved our family  so he could help run or set up different stores across the country.
In result of that, the longest I tend to stay in a place is just for the school year. Maybe for the summer too if I'm lucky, but that seems to be about every other year.
Growing up with constantly moving made me crave structure. I act like I hate the idea of settling down and making friends, but actually I yearned for it.
I wanted strong friendships, I wanted to be on first name basis with the gas station clerk kind of thing, I wanted everything that came with a normal life.
But over the last few years I didn't see the point in making friends who would stop answering my calls or letters after a few weeks of me moving away.
So that dream life will just have to wait till I go to college next fall.
I had been dreaming of it since the summer of my freshman year.
I even started working that summer to save up for my apartment that I'll have during the four years I plan on attending.
I have so much money saved up because how badly I want this, and have worked my ass off to make sure I will get accepted.
I needed to have control of something in my life and this was the easiest most important way I could.
I thought about my life and the things that made up it as I drove down the run down road towards the high school.
How after having been to five other schools as the new girl, this sixth one probably wasn't going to be any different.
The nerves I had in middle school about starting new were gone now, having died out by freshman year.
The thought of being the new girl wasn't scary anymore, it was now routine.
My tires screech against the pavement as I pull into the parking lot, entering into an empty space.
Knowing what awaited me I grabbed by backpack and Walkman off the passenger side, throwing the worn out headphones over my ears.
My fingers pressing play as I hopped out of the seat of my car.
Walking towards the wide open doors, my eyes studied the school.
Hawkins High wasn't anything special, but neither were most the schools I went to.
It was your normal brick building with the school colors scatter about to capture that 'school spirt', with a big welcome sign seated up front to welcome in the new and returning students.
I reach the doors feeling eyes turn towards me from the lockers lined down the hall, other students taking a glimpse at the unknown student.
I was used to people whispering about me, usually wondering about the newest girl of the year. And I defiantly knew it was going to be bigger news once people found out I was a senior.
Not paying them any mind I followed the wall signs towards the door labeled 'office.'
I spent the twenty minutes before class filling out paperwork as the secretary retrieved my schedule. Reassuring the people in the office multiple times that I didn't need a student to show me around before heading to my classes for the day.
My first few classes were as normal as they could be. The teachers having me introduce myself to the class after realizing there was a new student on their roster. Syllabuses got handed out and read, stating what was expected for each class. And then most students avoiding me like the plague or gave me a small smile and a wave when passing in the hall.
Walking into lunch I felt heads turn towards me, knowing all the small-town kids who've known each other since preschool were talking about the new girl. Wondering if she had somewhere to sit or would dare sit alone.
That was the thing they didn't know though, I would rather sit by myself any day then beg someone to be my friend so I wouldn't be alone.
Finding an empty table near the windows I plopped myself into a seat, music playing through my headphones as I pulled out the work Mrs. Click had given us already.
I wasn't wanting to worry about finishing it later tonight since my first shift at my new job started after school.
I would rather eat a quick lunch on the way there than get off tonight and have to worry about finishing the assignment.
After lunch was over the second half of the day seemed to fly by, surprising me as the clock hit four pm when I got home.
I threw my bag onto my bed, grabbing the dark green Family Video vest off my chair as I made my way back to my car.
The job didn't seem like anything special from the outside and I doubt it was going to change my life or anything. But it was a way to make money and something to keep me occupied during my time here in Hawkins.
The sound of the bell ringing greeted me as I entered the store, causing me to groan internally because I knew soon I was going to loathe the sound.
My line of vision hit the front desk, looking for the man named Steve Harrington, who Keith told me would be training me today.
A tall brunette comes from behind the shelf, huge hands holding a small stack of tapes.
"Welcome to Fam- Oh, you must be (Y/N) the new hire. I'm Steve." He smiles, eyes glimmering as they meet the vest I'm wearing.
"That's me." I shrug slightly, watching as he studied me.
Steve wasn't bad looking and defiantly was not my usual type, but he wasn't something I wouldn't mind looking at from time to time. I memorized the way his longish hair sat and freckles that scattered across his neck to the way his muscles peaked out from under his polo as he held the tapes.
Realizing he had spent 30 seconds too long staring, he coughed awkwardly motioning his head towards the back of the counter.
"We should probably get you clocked in before we start training you in the 'Family Video way." He quotes sarcastically.
His free hand making quotations causing me to roll my eyes playfully in response.
Steve notices, laughing lightly while he placed the tapes on the counter.
"It's what Keith says we have to say when we train someone new. But I think he just likes trying to make my job a little harder." Steve explains, rummaging through a drawer till he pulls out  a blank time card.
Laughing at his comment, I take the time card and pen from his grasp.
"So you can smile, I was worried you were going to have the whole 'I'm going to kill you vibe' all night long." He teases, watching as I write my name and the date across the paper.
"Don't get too excited, if I end up not liking you it could still happen." I shake my head playfully, going to sign on the time.
"You can write you were here 10 minutes earlier, Keith never checks the cameras." Steve promises, catching me off guard as my eyebrow raises in response.
"You trying to get me fired already Steve?"  I mock, watching his lips turn up into a smile.
"I wouldn't do that unless you actually tried to kill me." He jokes, causing me to grin in amusement, scribbling 4:15 onto my time card.
The bell rings again for the second time that night as I look over to him,
"Looks like we have our first customer of the night." I sigh, placing my time card with the rest on the counter.
As the night went on I realized my job here at Family Video was actually one of the easier jobs I've had over the years.
There really wasn't much to it other than helping customers, keeping track and stocking innovatory,  taking care of the store plus it's merchandise and either closing or opening the store depending on your shift.
Not to mention as well that Steve was surprisingly a good trainer. He was fun, light hearted, and didn't get upset or acted like I was stupid if I forgot how to do something. Instead he would explain it again understanding sometimes it was hard to get used to some things.
The night went by fast due to the steady stream of customers we had, which Steve promised wasn't normal for a Monday and that next week would probably feel so slow compared to today.
Steve had allowed me to do honors of locking the door after waving off the last customer of the night,  celebrating a successful evening.
We finished rewinding the brought back tapes and putting them into their designated areas before closing down the register, deciding to save sweeping and mopping for last.
Steve followed behind me as I swept, mopping the hardwood floors.
"How is Hawkins treating you so far?" Steve asks filling the quiet air while swirling the soapy mop against the walkway.
Thinking about my response I stop sweeping, turning towards him.
"Can I be honest or are you going to judge me if I say the wrong thing?" I ask him with a serious look on my face.
Stopping his movements as well, he brings his eyes to mine.
"Why would I judge you?" He asks, bringing his hand to his hip while the other hand leaned against the mop handle.
"Hawkins has been fine the past couple of days, but uh" I trail off, moving my eyes down to the broom handle I was playing with nervously.
"But?" He asks as I sigh, lifting my eyes back up to meet his.
"But I can't seem to find out where to get any uh-stuff around here." I tell him, hoping he would understand.
"What stuff?" He asks confused, causing me to roll my eyes at the boy.
"Weed Harrington, weed. I haven't learned who sells here yet." I laugh watching the realization of what I meant wash over his face.
"Oh okay. Well that's easy, you could go to Eddie Munson." He tells me, dipping the mop back into the bucket of water.
"So where do I find him then?" I ask, going back to moving the broom across the floor, picking up pieces of dirt and dust.
"Uh, I think he's actually in school again this year since I didn't see him at graduation.  So you could probably find him tomorrow." He answers, letting the loud thud of the mop head hit the floor.
"But be careful around him." Steve warns, lifting up a finger to me.
Stopping my movements again I turn towards the boy.
"Wait why be careful?" I ask him, confused on why he would say that. Unless the guy was like a serial killer or something.
"He's just a little bit of a freak. He listens to crazy music and of course as I told you deals drugs. Plus he plays that kid game, DND, and he's also in like a satanic band." Steve explains, the judgment in his voice lingering as he mops the dry wood.
"In a band you say. Does he play the guitar? Can he sing?" I joke, going back to finishing the floor.
"Yeah, I think he does play and if you want to call what he does singing." Steve answers, chuckling slightly.
"Sounds like he may be my type Harrington." I tease, knowing he's rolling his eyes behind me while we finish closing the store.
Heading into the school the next morning I was praying to find this Eddie Munson that Steve had told me to find.
I was desperate need of release because I finished the rest of my stash after getting off work last night.
If I don't get something soon I don't know how I'll survive the stress of senior year and work.
I had asked Steve before getting into my car where I would more than likely find him at school but he didn't have a clear answer since he didn't know much about the boy.
Just said I'll know he's him when I see him, that him and his friends are different from everyone else the high school.
Which basically left me with nothing, because what the hell was the supposed to mean?
I've came to notice two things over the years when figuring out who the dealer or dealers of the schools were. They were usually either the jocks no one would expect or the students with just enough charisma that they could convince anyone they wouldn't dare do that.
But they didn't always fall into those categories.
I scanned the halls as I walked to my first class, seeing the usual cheerleaders and jocks in their letterman jackets but none of them giving off the vibe of the local dealer.
The rest of the students left in the hall looked like they wouldn't dare touch it, let alone sell it.
None of them looked the way Steve had led me to believe Eddie would look like.
I felt discouraged as I sat down at my desk, hopping to find him at some point in the day. But at the moment it felt like I was looking for a needle in a haystack.
By the time lunch came around I wondered if Steve might have been wrong about him still being in school. Maybe he did graduate and Steve hadn't noticed. Or maybe he dropped out, having not wanted to finish school.
Or maybe he wasn't as bad as Steve tried to make him out to be so I'm looking for the wrong person.
Sitting down at the table I had sat the day before, I listened to the music playing through my ears. My eyes scanning the room over the top of my book.
I saw the usual cliques as I looked around the room but nothing screaming "Satan worshipers' like Steve had warned.
Turning my line of vision towards the tables in front of me I see a group stand out over the rest of the students a few tables down.
The occupants of the table were wearing leather jackets, torn vests and jeans. Just overall looking like themselves compared to the other students who looked like they walked out of a page of the latest magazine.
Leaning back slightly I eyed the table. My vision being drawn to the front to see a long curly haired brunette telling what seemed to be a dramatic story. The rest of the table watched in awe, laughing and making comments at the boy.
I took his appearance in, he was wearing black jeans that were ripped at the knee. There was a chain poking out beside him, the leather jacket he wore had a battle vest paired with. It had patches and pins scattered across it. The hand that brought whatever he was eating to his mouth were decorated in chunky silver rings, leather and chain bracelets sticking out as his sleeve rolled down slightly.
That has to be him, I thought to myself as I drooled mentally for a second.
I may have been right, this man was just my type.
I decided to let myself admire him for a second longer, not realizing he would notice the feeling of my eyes observing him so soon.
His eyes turned to meet mine as I adverted my sight quickly towards the words in front of me, feeling my face reddening slightly while the boy watched me for a moment.
I didn't dare to look up from my book the rest of lunch and wondered if the stares I felt were coming from him or someone else in the room.
I was one of the first students out of the lunch room when the bell rang to dismiss us.
Nervous about having been caught, I headed to the bathroom before going to class to catch my breath for a second.
Making my way down the hall I turn the corner not expecting to run chest first into someone this late into the passing period.
"Oh shit I'm so- you're new right?" I hear as I look at the chest of the person I ran into.
The battle vest and leather looking familiar as I took in the pins and patches, realizing as I stepped back that I had ran into the person I've been looking for.
"Are you alright?" He asks with concern in his voice, his hand moving to touch my forearm gently.
"I'm fine, just kind of shocked that's all." I laugh lightly, lifting my gaze to meet his to see the worry in his eyes disappear.
"And uh- yeah I just moved here for my senior year." I finish, watching his brown eyes crinkle while his lip curl up into a smile.
"Well welcome to Hawkins, I'm Eddie. Eddie Munson, I do wish we could of had a less painful introduction than this though." He grins, dimples popping out as he extends his hand towards mine.
"(Y/N), (Y/N) (Y/L/N)." I smile lightly, taking his hand into mine.
The bell above us rings making me pull my hand away in shock as we realize passing period is now over.
"I should get going if actually plan on graduating this year." Eddie chuckles, pulling his hand back awkwardly.
Nodding in agreement we both stand there for a second, neither of us taking the first step to leave.
"Before I go, I uh saw you sitting alone at lunch. And if you want you could always join me and the rest of hellfire." He offers, twirling the ring on his left pointer finger nervously. A small blush playing on his cheeks, while he glances down at his shoes.
"Hellfire? Is that your band?" I ask curiously, watching his demeanor change in response.
"It's not, but you have heard of me?" He questions with amusement in his voice. His body stands a little taller, moving to lean against the lockers next to me as his arms cross across his chest. Smile tugging on his lips playfully.
"I had um- asked around about finding uh- supplies and I got your name along with some warnings." I tell him sheepishly, hearing his laugh escape through his lips.
"Sounds about right, just I can't get you stuff at the moment." Eddie tells me, glancing at the clock on the wall.
"But we are already late, so how do you feel about going out to the woods?" Eddie asks with a raised eyebrow, bringing his fingers to his lips in a smoking motion.
"I would beg please." I laugh, watching his smile widen.
He leads me out the door in the hallway, showing me the way to the picnic table in the woods.
I sit down across from him watching him dig around the pack of camels he pulled out of his jacket pocket.
Pulling out an already rolled joint Eddie smiles in triumph, handing it to me along with his lighter.
"Most people around here have smoked my weed at some point before they even come up to me. So um since you're new I figured you can smoke it before you decide to buy it." Eddie explains, watching as I bring the joint to my lips. The clicking of the lighter lighting the paper into a burning ember.
Inhaling I feel the familiar haze wash over my body and mind releasing all the stress and tension the day had brought so far.
Coughing slightly due to the harsh hit, I pass the joint back to Eddie.
"Thank you, you don't know how bad I needed this." I thank him, exhaling the thick smoke into the air around us.
"Trust me, I get it. High school and life can be rough." He welcomes, bringing the burning smoke to his lips.
"So tonight doesn't work for me to meet up with you because I'm playing at the hideout tonight. But I could meet up with you here tomorrow or after school at one of our places if you're comfortable with that." He tells me, as my smaller fingers takes the joint back from between his.
"I couldn't do tonight anyway because I work Tuesdays, but I can do tomorrow. And meeting at your house will work, I need to learn my way around town anyway." I laugh lightly feeling the high starting to hit me as I breathe out what was left of my hit.
"So what's the hideout?" I ask him curiously, seeing his eyes spark up as he takes a hit.
"It's just some shitty bar here in town, and it's pretty cool actually. And we get a crowd there of about um- five drunks." Eddie tells me, humor in voice.
I hear myself giggle in response, fingers brushing against his more the higher I get.
"Yeah, it's not exactly the Garden, but you gotta start somewhere right?" He finishes, playfully shrugging his shoulders.
"So is that what you hope to do with your life? Get somewhere with your music?" I ask, taking the second to last hit that was left.
"That's the plan. I love music and love the thought of being able to travel the country while doing what I love." Eddie nods, taking the joint between his lips before putting it out on the table.
"If that's what you want, then it sounds nice. I think everyone should do what makes them happy." I tell him, touching his forearm gently.
"How about you? What plan do you have?" He questions, resting his chin on his hand.
"Um, I've moved around every year the last five, six years so I'm really trying to make it to college and decide from there." I admit to him.
"So we're on two different spectrums?" He chuckles, as I nod in agreement.
"So it would seem." I laugh lightly.
"Do you know much are you wanting tomorrow?" Eddie asks, pulling a cigarette out of the pack on the table.
"What are your prices?" I ask him, watching him light the cigarette.
He inhales, chewing on his lip for a second before talking.
"I can do a half ounce for um $20." Eddie offers, lifting the cigarette up for me to take.
"That works and would be great." I smile, taking the cigarette from him.
"You know you don't seem as bad as people say." I tell him as the cigarette rest on my lips, my glassy eyes smiling over at him.
"Mean and scary?" Eddie asks, hand rubbing his cheek while a smile forms.
"Yeah." I nod, biting back my smile as I pass him the cigarette.
"Actually in other good news- flattery works with me. " Eddie smiles, as I raise an eyebrow.
"So uh 25% discount for the half. I can do fifteen bucks. But just so you know, you're robbing me blind here." He finishes, with a grin and a blush across his face when he brings the cigarette to his lips.
The moment in the woods with Eddie helped me surive the rest of my classes and made me ready to set Steve straight at work.
"Steve, he is not that bad." I tell him grabbing my time card out of the stack.
"Who?" He asks, glancing up from the computer.
"Eddie." I tell him scrunching my eyebrow, because who else would I be talking about?
"Whatever you say." He shakes his head, tying away on the keyboard.
"So does that mean you got your stuff?" Steve asks, looking up to me as I peak over from the side of him to watch him check accounts for past due movies.
"No, but I did talk to him. We're supposed to meet at his place tomorrow." I shrug, watching him mark an account with a late charge.
"Meeting at his place huh?" Steve teases, playful smirk on his face as I bump my hip against his shoulder.
"Stop it's not like that, plus I don't do relationships. I learned that after my freshman year." I tell him, crossing my arms over my chest.
"You do know you don't have to be in a relationship for stuff to happen right?" He asks, eyes meeting playfully with mine.
"Steve, we aren't close enough yet for you to tease me like this. Now stop before I do go back to having my murderous stare." I laugh, giving him another small shove.
"I was just saying." He shrugs, going back to typing away.
The next day and a half went by fast as I waited in anticipation for meeting with Eddie.
Pulling into the Munson's drive, I felt more nervous now than I had felt about starting school.
It felt different being here than being out in the woods with him since now I knew he wasn't a dick like some of the drug dealers I had in the past.
Walking up to the door I take a deep breath as I knocked, praying to god Eddie would be the one to answer.
A few moments after my fist met the door, it opens to reveal a smiling Eddie.
"Hey, you made it, come on in." He tells me, extending his arm out into the home.
"Why wouldn't I?" I ask him, taking a step inside.
All the mugs scattered on the walls catches my eye as I scan over them. Turning towards him with a raised brow, I smile watching him redden up a bit.
"Yeah sorry about that, they're my uncle's. It's just me and him here, but don't worry he's already gone for work. And uh, I was worried you might have decided against meeting here." Eddie tells me, leading me to the kitchen.
"But anyway, my stuff is on the counter over here." He motions to the counter where a scale and a jar sat.
I watched as he set the scale, weighting the product to measure it out.
"You want to take a look?" Eddie asks taking a step back so I could read the scale.
"Eddie that's a little more than a half?" I turn towards him to see him nodding lightly.
"Consider it a gift for being a first time buyer." He winks, going to bag it up for me.
"Can I just give you $20 then, you're already giving me a great deal." I beg digging into my purse for the money before holding it out to him.
"I told you 15 yesterday so it's 15."He shakes his head, pushing away the 20.
"That was for a half though, and this clearly isn't a half." I argue holding the bag he gives me, feeling bad because he gave me two more grams than he was supposed to on top of the deal he was already giving me.
"Sweetheart, it's fine I promise you." Eddie reassures me, as I feel my cheeks redden at the nickname.
"Whatever you say Eddie." I sigh, going to grab a 10 and a 5 to complete the transaction.
Eddie walks me to back to the front door, his hand resting in his back pocket.
"Thank you for this, it should last me a while." I tell him, tapping my purse.
"It's no problem really, thank you for coming to me." He smiles, freehand rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well it's kind of late, I should probably be heading home." I trail, looking around nervously, not wanting to intrude.
I'm about to reach the doorknob as Eddie interrupts.
"Unless you want to stay for a little while?" He asks, causing me to turn back around.
"We could watch a movie and match joint for joint?" He offers as my thumb plays with the strap of my purse while I contemplate staying.
I don't usually hang out with people, let alone smoke with other people, especially more than once.
But he doesn't seem to be a horrible person to be around, and I probably will be seeing him for a good amount of the next year.
"Okay." I nod, watching Eddie's face light up.
We sat there watching something that was playing on TV, surrounded in thick smoke as we passed the joint back and forth. Bodies naturally getting closer with each pass we do.
"So what do you do in your free time? Other than smoke obviously?" Eddie asks me, pulling my attention away from the movie.
"Oh um, I mostly work or just do homework. Like I said the other day, I've been dreaming of college so I mostly just focus on that." I tell him, blowing out smoke.
"I wish I could say the same for me, this is my third year as a senior. My GPA is like less than 1 if that's even possible." He admits to me, a nervous laugh following as I give him the joint.
I watch him take a hit, feeling shy to look over after sharing the information.
Leaning in a bit more, I rest my hand on his freehand.
"Hey, at least you're here. There's many people who would of gave up after failing the first time. Plus everyone has their own speed, life isn't a race to win." I smile softly, Eddie's brown eyes moving to meet mine.
"Plus, if you ever need help you could just ask me." I tell him, feeling my eyes glimmer.
"Thank you." He nods before opening his mouth again.
"I actually really think this is my year." Eddie tells me smiling slightly, causing me to laugh lightly in response.
"Yeah?" I grin at him.
"Yeah," He nods, giving my hand a light squeeze.
Seeing through the cloudiness in my brain, I realize we're still holding hands after a few moments.
Pulling away, I glance over to the clock by the TV.
"It's been fun, but I should really get going." I tell Eddie, standing up.
"It is getting late, but I'll see you at school tomorrow right?" He asks, standing up as well.
"Yeah, I'll be there." I nod at him, feeling him watch me gather my things.
"Think you might sit with Hellfire at lunch?" Eddie questions as I start heading towards the door.
Reaching the door I turn around slightly, hand resting on the knob.
"Probably not Eddie, nothing against you or them I promise. I just don't like to make friends, I've lost too many of them over the years." I confess, his face dropping slightly as he nods.
"Well if you ever change your mind, there's always a spot available." He smiles lightly, trying to mask the pain while taking a step forward.
"But really thank you for this Eddie, I really needed it." I tell him truthfully. Taking a step forward before I realize what I'm doing, I find my lips being placed on his cheek.
Pulling away shocked at my actions, I open the door quickly, turning to tell him goodbye.
"I'll see you soon, I promise," I smile, basically running out of his trailer.
It's been a little over a month of me living in Hawkins since that first transaction with Eddie.
School had been decent and working with Robin and Steve had actually been a blessing. I don't know how I would survive there without them.
Eddie and I talk quite a bit actually, sometimes just in passing through the halls. Sometimes before entering lunch as he asks me if I'm sure I didn't want to sit at his table, which I reassure him I'm okay alone especially since I usually work on homework anyway and didn't want any distractions.
Sometimes we just meet up in the woods for a smoke break on days that seem unbearable.
With everything going on with Eddie and the duo at work I've been feeling conflicted and have been questioning everything.
I don't usually allow myself to be so vulnerable with people.
I've had laughs with them, hell have hung out with them all at some point even.
That wasn't who I was when I got here, I hadn't allowed myself to feel for years before moving here.
It has me wondering what was in the air here in Hawkins.
Hell Robin even sits next me in the few classes we have together, leaving me to have a partner when a teacher says to partner up for the first time in years.
I am thankful for her though because she does make school not be as boring.
Exiting our last class for the day, Robin follows me towards my locker.
"What are you doing today on your day off?" She asks as I open the door.
"I have no idea, but I need to talk to Eddie about getting some more.. stuff soon." I whisper quietly motioning to the teachers standing outside their doors.
"On a Friday?" She smirks teasingly.
"Stop, it's not like that." I tell her, rolling my eyes while putting away the books I didn't need.
"Mmmh. Well because of Dustin I know they have Hellfire tonight, but I'm sure Eddie would love meeting up with you after its over, you know late at night." Robin says playfully, leaning against the locker next to mine.
"Robin, I swear to god I will quit our job right now leaving to work with either Steve or Keith alone on all of your shifts." I raise an eyebrow, challenging her to continue.
"Okay, I'll stop but I just think you two would be cute, and I know you two like each other. I can see it." She says holding her books in defense.
"I think you're delusional, plus shouldn't you be leaving to get to work on time since band isn't needed today?" I ask her, packing my backpack.
"Okay, I may be delusional most days but I promise you not on this." Robin laughs, removing her back from the locker.
"And yeah, Steve's probably outside. I'll see you tomorrow night at work though, and make sure you tell me everything that happens." She calls out, turning down to walk towards the exit.
"Nothing is going to happen!" I yell, hearing footsteps approach me on my other side.
"What's not going to happen?" A curious Eddie asks as I look over.
"Robin was just being stupid and teasing me about not having anything to do on a Friday since I'm off." I shake my head, throwing my bag over my shoulder while my free hand closed my locker.
"Oh?" He asks, playing with his rings.
"Yeah, but actually would you be free tonight for me to come... visit? I got paid yesterday." I trail off, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.
"Are you already out again?" Eddie chuckles as I redden.
"No but I'm getting close, I don't think you understand how much I uh-consume a day." I chose my words carefully, waving as Mrs. Click walks pass us.
"Would around 8:30/9 work for you? I have hellfire tonight and it's probably going to go on late tonight." He asks.
"Yeah, I'll be there then. Thank you, see you then." I smile, touching his arm before waving goodbye.
I wait till it's closer to nine to leave my house, determining it would be better to arrive later in case he wasn't done as early as he thought.
Pulling into his driveway I see his van parked and Eddie waiting on the porch for me, smoking a cigarette.
"How was your campaign?" I ask climbing out of my car as he stands up.
"It actually went really well, how was having some free time for once?" Eddie teases while I make my way to the porch.
"Actually I uh did homework for most the night, but now I don't have to worry about finishing anything this weekend." I tell him, shrugging slightly, feeling my lips turn up into a smile.
"You're something else (Y/L/N)." He chuckles, opening his door for me.
"Same as usual right?" Eddie asks as I nod.
As he goes to weight it I sit on the couch opening my draw string bag I brought with me.
"Yow know, I um checked this out last night before I left work because in the next couple months everyone's going to want it once the second one comes out. I still haven't gotten around to re-watching it, and really don't want to waste the money I spent renting it?" I explain, waving Nightmare On Elm Street between my fingers.
"Is that your way of asking if I want to watch it with you tonight?" Eddie grins teasingly, walking over to hand me the bag he filled.
"Might be." I laugh, handing him his money and the tape.
"What if I would of been busy tonight?' He questions, humor in his voice as he puts the tape in.
"Then I guess you would of had to cancel." I tell him, raising an eyebrow as Eddie shakes his head making his way towards the couch.
Smoke filled the room while we watched the movie.
Even though I had seen this a few times, I tucked my head against his shoulder throughout different portions of the movie. My high making me jump more than I would usually.
"Scared princess?" Eddie smirks, lighting another joint he had rolled.
"No," I lie, taking the joint from him as he gives me a blank stare.
"I'm not, I'm more like grossed out." I laugh, bringing it to my lips, still leaning onto him with my feet tucked under me.
"Don't like gore?" He asks, watching my mouth pull away from the joint.
"No, not at all." I admit, holding down a cough as his fingers linger longer than usual when I pass him the smoke.
"Then why would you pick a glory movie?" Eddie snorts.
"I didn't remember it being it this bad." I tell him truthfully, feeling his arm wrap around to hold me while he leans forward to ash the joint.
"You know, if you wanted to cuddle with me you could of just asked." Eddie jokes, leaning back to pass it to me.
"I didn't want to cuddle with you." I shake my head in response, inhaling the smoke.
I felt my cheeks start to redden as the air seemed to shift, wondering if there was tension between us or if I was just high and imagining it.
"Babe, you're already are." Eddie laughs, giving my side that he was holding a light squeeze.
"Munson, if I wanted to get under you I wouldn't have had to use a scary movie, that's just more work on my part." I tell him, smirk playing on my lip as I give him the last hit.
"Are you calling me easy?" He asks, eyes gleaming as he inhales the rest before putting it out, strong grip never leaving my side.
"I don't know, are you?" I tease, feeling my heart starting to beat faster at the way he was looking at me.
"Are you trying to find out?" He questions, eyes moving from my lips to my eyes while his hand traces circles on the exposed part of my hip.
I took a deep breath, resting my hand onto his chest.
"And if I was? What would you do?" I ask batting my eyes lightly, the glimmer of the forgotten movie lighting his face.
"What would you let me do?" He gulps, other hand moving to hold my knee.
"Honestly? Anything." I barely whisper, this time taking my eyes from his to his lips and back.
Taking that as a sign, Eddie leans in gently. His lips brushing against mine as his hand lightly digs into my thigh, both of us holding our breath as our lips meet.
Kissing back slowly, I feel him part his lips lightly against mine. The tenderness of the kiss making me breath heavy as he presses into the kiss a little harder. I feel my hand grip his shirt tighter as my other hand moved to hold the back of his head.
We sit there for a few minutes, lips connecting sweetly as we explore each other's mouths. His tongue lightly licking my bottom lip before entering. The feeling of his hair between my fingers made me moan as he ran his tongue against mine, a little rougher than how he had been kissing me.
Not removing my mouth from his, I lift myself up slightly so I can slide onto his lap. Straddling him, I feel his hands move to hold the tops of my thighs as I slowly rock my hips against his. The kisses start to get a little heavier as I start pulling his jacket off his chest, biting his lip lightly between kisses.
I felt like I never wanted this moment to end, the taste of weed and cigarettes taking up my taste buds as I slide my tongue against his. Eddie groans against my mouth, his hands roaming up underneath my shirt to hold me close.
Pulling away I felt my chest feeling like my heart was about to burst through my shirt.
"Eddie?" I ask him, resting my forehead against his.
"Hm?" He hums at me, breathing as heavily as I was.
"If you want this, then that's all this will ever be. Nothing more, and I'm okay with it if you are but I just needed you to know in case you thought this was something else." I tell him watching him take in the information as I pull back slightly.
"If you don't want to do that then we can forget this ever happened." I continue nervously, loosening up my grip on his shirt.
Eddie licks his lips lightly as I held my breath. In reality it had only been a few seconds but the cloudiness of my mind made it feel like forever.
"(Y/N), I'm okay with this if you are." He reassures me, hands moving to hold my hips as he looked at me deeply.
"Are you sure? I don't want you to do something you don't actually want to do." I ask, watching as he groans teasingly.
"God, why won't you listen to what I say?"  Eddie laughs, moving to lay me down on the couch beneath him.
Climbing over me, I smile as he hovers above my face.
"When I say I'm okay with something, I'm okay with it. Doesn't matter if it's this, giving you more weed, or anything. If I said it's okay, then it's okay." Eddie tells me, smile playing on his lips.
"Okay." I nod biting my lip as he leans down to connect his with mine again.
Pulling away he starts kissing on my neck, hands running beneath my shirt to pinch my nipples lightly causing me to gasp underneath him.
"Now, let me make you feel good." Eddie breaths against me, licking a sensitive spot on my neck.
"Okay," I nod, eyes closed as I whimper at the feeling of his rough tongue against my neck. The coolness of it soothing the hash bites and nips he trails across it.
"Good, because you deserve to relax princess." He tells me, tongue connecting with my ear lobe, as my shoulder tenses in response.
"Uh, uh. Sweetheart, lets see you loosen up." He tsks, biting my lobe, causing me to cry out beneath him as I take a deep breathe in hopes of relaxing my body.
"Good girl sweetheart, how about we get these pants off?" Eddie praises, pulling up to unbutton my jeans.
Hooking his long fingers with the inside of the pants, he pulls them down completely along with the purple lace panties I had wore tonight.
"Aw did you expect something to happen tonight sweetheart?" He teases, tossing them to the floor.
"No, but I wore them in case." I admit, breathing hitching as he licks up my thigh. His mouth  leaving small bites while one of his hands moved to sperate my legs. Pulling it over on to his shoulder.
A gasp slips my lips when Eddie takes his tongue lightly between my folds, licking softly.
One of my hand move to hold his hair as he dives in, tongue meeting my clit as he slowly circles around it.
"Hold as tightly as you need baby." Eddie tells me, taking one hand and tracing his finger up and down slowly before slipping it inside of me. As I arche my back in response feeling Eddie smirk against me.
Matching speed with his finger, he flicked his tongue against my clit while he pumped his finger in and out of me leaving me moaning beneath him.
Taking my freehand I move to lift up my shirt, feeling Eddie help me slide it up with his other hand.
Pitching my nipple I look down to make eye contact with Eddie as he moans against me, brown eyes shinning towards mine.
He adjusts himself so he can support himself up and pay attention my other nipple while my hand holds his hair.
Feeling that usual squeeze in my stomach, I cry out feeling him add another finger.
The feeling of his mouth licking and sucking lightly on my clit driving me wild as the edges of his rings press inside of me when he curls his fingers, pumping them in and out.
"Come on princess, let yourself go. It's okay to relax," Eddie mumbles against me.
"I feel you tensing beneath me. Just breathe okay? Let yourself cum all over me." He assures me before diving back into pleasing me.
Nodding, I take a deep breath, allowing my body to feel the pleasure coming from all directions.
Eddie speeds up a little bit. Fingers pumping faster as his tongue rubs against my clit at the same pace.
"I'm getting close Eddie." I cry out, leaning forward more as he hums against me, bringing his eyes back to mine.
I feel the usual wave of emotion hit my body as I unwind all over him, screaming out his name as he rides out my high on his mouth and fingers.
He pulls fingers out of me, bringing them to my mouth which I opened up obediently for him, licking and sucking on them while he licks me clean below.
"Such a good girl baby." Eddie smirks, pulling away from me as he wipes his mouth clean.
"Think you're ready for me? Or do you need a moment?" He asks, sitting up to undo his jeans.
"I'm ready for you." I nod, leaning forward to help him pull them down as his cock springs up.
"You're just full of many surprises aren't you Munson?" I smirk, leaning forward to lick up his long shaft, hearing him groan from the friction.
"Sweetheart as much as I would love to see what that mouth could do, I almost came while taking care of you." Eddie chuckles, hand going underneath my chin to stop me  when I tried to go back down on him.
Nodding I sit up, pulling my shirt off completely as he pulls his off over his head as well.
Climbing on to him I position him below me, moving down slowly as his hands grip my hips harshly.
"Fuck (Y/N), you feel so fucking good wrapped around me baby." Eddie breathes, face scrunching up in pleasure as he bottoms out into me.
"You're so big Eddie, stretching me out completely." I tell him, eyes rolling to the back of my head as I rock against him.
The feeling of his huge cock hitting my cervix makes me whimper as I started to lift and roll my hips against his.
Leaning forward I attach my mouth to his Adam's apple that he had exposed while being a moaning mess beneath me.
I bite the area lightly, letting my nails dig into his chest while I worked on his neck.
"Fuck baby, just like that." Eddie groans, making me moan as I feel the vibrations through his neck while I licked and sucked all over him.
I whimper feeling him adjust below me as he starts pounding into me while I work my hips down.
Moving his head so his lips meet mine, I moan into the kiss, tongue sliding against his as I struggled to hold myself still against him. All the movement from both us making me cry out as I felt my stomach starting to turn again.
Feeling Eddie let go of one side of me, I feel my body shutter when his thumb meets my clit, rubbing a circular motion as we both chased to find our highs.
Eddie moves his other hand to hold my throat, making me look straight at him as he pounds up into me.
"Come on baby, you can do it. " He mutters, leaning down to bite my collarbone.
"Let yourself cum for me again baby, just remember to breathe okay?" Eddie orders bringing kisses to my jaw.
I feel my airway tightening as he brings his mouth towards my neck and ear, licking and sucking making me want to scream as I try my hardest to breathe through the stimulation at hand.
"Cum for me princess, cum all over my cock." He whispers.
Taking a deep breathe I cry out feeling my stomach twist, knowing I was done for.
"Eddie, I'm cumming. Fuck." I let out, feeling him not stop his motions as I ride out my orgasm.
Once I was done I felt Eddie twitch inside me, warm liquid pooling as his thrusts got sloppier.
Pulling off of him, I lay down onto the couch, not being able to breathe.
Eddie gets up tiredly, walking to find me a cloth get get cleaned up with.
"Do you want to stay the night?" Eddie asks, still breathing heavily as he hands me my clothes. Shaking my head, I go to pull my shirt over my head.
"Eddie I can't, I told you what this was going to be. That's going out of territory." I sigh, standing up to put on my bottoms.
"Come on just this once, it's late and you're still a little stoned. We smoked more that usual and  I don't want to risk you getting hurt." He pleads, grabbing my hand to pull me towards him.
I sigh, looking up into his eyes while pressed against his chest, knowing he was right.
"Only this one time Munson, I swear." I tell him, watching his eyes light up the few inches above mine.
It didn't end up being that one night only.
It's been a few more months since that night and I have spent the night at least one time every weekend, breaking my own rule because I couldn't say no to those big doe eyes.
It had became ritual to hook up either before school or after school, (sometimes even during school,) at least once a day.
Robin and Steve have teased me, especially the day after the first night because it looked like I had been mauled by a bear by the time I had gotten to work the next day.
But they say I look happier, which I shrug off because there wasn't any reason for me to be happier. We were just two people hooking up.
At least we were supposed to be.
But not long after, things started to go into a territory it shouldn't have.
It started off with small things, Eddie leaving notes in my locker. Sometimes leaving hand picked flowers in my drivers side for me to find after school.
Hell he even brought me lunch at work a few times, trying to pass it off that it was because Dustin wanted to visit Steve.
With every action I would ask him if he was okay with what we're doing, scared he wasn't. But he would always say he was fine with our arrangement, it was my fault I listened.
It wasn't that I didn't like how Eddie was treating me, to be honest I was shocked most the time because I had never had anyone do the things he's done.
The last time I had fully dated anyone was my freshman year and we promised each other to still talk over the summer and see about me coming down to visit. But before I was supposed to visit I found out he had started hooking up with the girl who was supposed to be my best friend.
After that I swore I wasn't going to date again, or make friends, just leave things casual with me and anyone.
Which is why I wasn't sure how casual it was with me laying in Eddie's arms cuddling with him on a Friday night after hooking up for probably the millionth time.
I felt his fingers run up and down my arm as my eyes grew heavy.
"Do you think you could come see me play Tuesday?" He asks out of nowhere causing my eyes to open up wide.
"What?" I question, sitting up slightly to look down at him.
"Would you come see us play Tuesday, it's been months of this and you still haven't came to a show." Eddie tells me, moving to sit up with me.
Holding one of his blankets to my chest, I stand up.
"Eddie, you know I work Tuesdays." I tell him nervously, looking for my clothes on the floor.
"Just ask for the day off." He shrugs, standing up with me.
Grabbing my shirt off the floor, I throw it on.
"Eddie why would I ask for a day off to see you play? We aren't serious enough for me to do that." I ask him, feeling anger starting to take over.
"Not serious enough (Y/N)? Then what the hell have we been doing?" He expresses, raising his voice slightly as I grab my jeans.
"We've been having fun Eddie, and it's not my fault if you couldn't keep your eyes on the agreement we had made." I spit at him, the words hitting him like venom.
"Well I'm sorry for thinking you had started to feel the same way I did." Eddie rolls his eyes,  grabbing his shirt to put on.
"I think we need to end this." I tell him going to grab my purse as he pulls my hand.
"Wait, please don't go." He begs as I take a deep breath, realizing how serious this fight had gotten.
"Eddie, I think I need to leave before you get hurt and your heart gets broken." I whisper, watching his eyes break.
"(Y/N) I don't care if you hurt me, because guess what if you walk out that door my heart is going to break either way. I would rather have whatever this is as long as I can before it does get broken." Eddie admits to me causing my eyes to water, tear slipping down my face.
Shaking him off my arm and wiping away the tears, I start walking towards the door before turning around slightly.
"That's why I have to go Eddie, I couldn't stand to know how much you were hurting and that it was my fault. I might as well leave before it gets worse." I apologize, turning towards the door before rushing out.
Eddie follows me out in his boxers and t-shirt calling out to me, begging for me to stay and fix things.
I ignored his advances pulling out of his drive with tears streaming heavily, seeing  him follow me out into the street, yelling as he watched me drive away.
Getting home I made my parents promise to tell anyone who may show up other than Robin that I wasn't feeling well or accepting visitors.
I called out from work the next two days, knowing Eddie would show up looking for me and I wouldn't be able to handle seeing him.
Robin came by Sunday night after work demanding to know what was going on.
"Tell me what is going on with you? It's not like you to call out one day let alone two in a row." She asks sitting next to me while I sniffle against my pillow, not wanting to look at her.
"I just feel like a bad person. I broke one of my few rules and hurt someone important to me." I tell her, feeling the sympathy radiate off of her.
"Is this about Eddie?" She whispers quietly, bringing her hand to rub my hair.
"Mmh. And god, why do you and Steve have to be so great too? All of you made me break my rules." I sob into my pillow as she laughs lightly, patting my head.
"(Y/N) most rules are meant to be broken at one point or another." Robin tells me as I catch my breath to look at her.
"You don't understand why I have them." I remind her, sitting up slightly as she scoots over.
"Then tell me, and then maybe tell Eddie." She asks as I nod slightly.
"My freshman year I fell head-over-heels for this sophomore,  thought it was love. All that 14-15 year old crap." I laugh lightly as she nods, listening.
"We did everything together, went on dates, car rides, even lost my virginity to him." I continue, playing with my hands nervously.
"And then I moved and we continued talking on the phone for the first month of summer all the time. But then he started missing calls, or getting off the phone earlier than usual. Then when I would try to call my 'best friend' she would be missing calls as well, and that went on for about a month before I was supposed to go down for the fourth of July." I tell her.
"Then what happened?" Robin asks, face in her hand as her arm rests on her knee
"Then a week before I was about to come down Bailey called me crying one night, telling me she was sorry and hated herself. Told me she had started hooking up with Michael a few weeks prior." I sigh, feeling my eyes water as hers widen.
"No way." Robin exclaims as I nod.
"Yeah, and when I confronted Michael he said it was all true. So from there on out I refused to make friends or even try to let someone in." I  finish, feeling her rest her hand on my knee.
"Why didn't you just tell Eddie that? Look I don't know him very well, but I don't think he could ever do that to you, also I think he would understand what that kind of trauma could do to you." Robin reassures me.
"I don't know if I'll ever speak to him again. He deserves better than me, I'm selfish and don't know how to be social since everything. He deserves someone who can match his energy, which isn't me." I tell her, sniffling to hold back tears as she gives me a sympathetic smile.
"Look (Y/N), you clearly care about him. And I know he gives off golden retriever energy once you start talking to him and you're more of a black cat energy kind of girl. But those sometimes are the best combinations." She tells me, smile still holding on her lips.
"Trust me, I do work in a movie store, so I do know the best couples." She teases softly.
"Do you think you could do me a huge favor?" I ask her as she nods.
"Anything." She agrees.
I spent the next two days avoiding Eddie the best I could. I would turn back down the hall when I saw him walking, would hide in the bathroom telling the teacher's I was having girl problems. Even ate lunch in the my car and parked down the block in case he decided to go see if I was outside.
I had went to work on Monday, and spent most the night in the back putting the newest tapes into the system.
But by the end of the night Steve had said there wasn't any sight of Eddie.
Now I was sitting in my car tapping my fingers nervously as I stared at the little rundown bar in front of me, wondering if I should actually go in.
Robin had agreed to skip band practice this once to take my shift so I could come tonight.
Glancing at the clock I realized it was now and never, and knew if I didn't go in Robin would kill me for making her take my shift.
Walking inside I hear them playing from the corner stage in the bar.
The lights illuminating only the stage and the bar for those wanting drinks.
I take a seat at the bar stool closest to the door, watching as they finished the song.
Eddie looks around at the small crowed who was hooting and hollering before speaking.
"Our last song for the night is a sneak peak of something I'm working on. So far it is unheard of outside of the band, but it's something I've been dealing with recently and it means a lot to me so I hope you all enjoy." He tells the crowd before starting to strum his guitar, fingers moving up and down as the rest of the band seemed to follow.
I watched him play. Seeing his face focus in concentration, tongue peaking out slightly as he worked against the instrument.
His long hair that was usually free was held back by the black bandana that mostly took home in his back pocket.
Pieces of his hair remained free though, peaking out around his face as his arm muscles flexed slightly with every pluck he gave the cords.
I didn't know what to expect when he opened his mouth, I hadn't heard him sing at all yet.
But god when he opened his mouth I thought I was going to die. If I hadn't already fucked him, I would of wanted to right there.
His voice was so raspy and sexy as he sung into the microphone, keeping eye contact with the crowd.
I listened admiring the beauty of him and his words watching him belt out the rest of the lyrics.
"Oh and my love," He sang into the microphone. Lips brushing against the metal as his eyes came to the bar.
"Did I mistake you for a sign from god?" Eddie hums out, his eyes getting pulled to meet mine.
I feel my cheeks redden as he adjusts his guitar, clearly surprised to see me.
I watch him as he continues, not looking away from me.
"Or are you really here to cut me off?" He questions, eyebrow raising slightly, handing moving down the next of his guitar.
"Or maybe just to turn me on?" He teases into the mic, leaning more towards my side of the bar as he gets into his song.
"Cause these days." He continues as I feel different emotions start to run through my body.
"I would be lying if I told you that, I didn't wish that I could be your man." Eddie sings strongly, both hands moving to hold the mic.
"Or maybe make a good girl bad." He sings out breathy as I feel tears start to run down.
Wiping them away I leave, not wanting to be seen crying in the bar.
Wanting to run away from everything I find myself parked at lover's lake, just thinking about my life and the choices I made. Wondering if it was my fault for how miserable it was.
Laying on the hood of my car I smoked, hoping to find some peace while I decided what to do.
Moving to sit in my car I see the time flash as I start it.
10:17pm.
I start my car, not even having a destination in mind as I start to drive.
Just letting my high lead my subconscious as I head down the road.
Which is why I'm not that surprised when I find myself outside of the Munson's trailer.
But Eddie's van was no where in sight, even with how late it was I hoped he would be home at some point soon.
I opened my car door, lighting a cigarette, listening to music as I waited to the metalhead to get home.
Eddie's P.O.V.
"What do you mean you haven't seen her Robin? She's your friend." I ask her, rubbing my temple feeling a headache starting to form.
"As far as I knew she was supposed to go see you." Robin tells me, loading tapes onto a cart.
"She did, but she left in the middle of a song. It looked like she had started crying." I explain her.
"Why did she start crying? And did you check her house?" Robin questions as I follow behind her.
"Probably because the song was about us, and yes of course I checked her house first. Do you know where else she may be?" I sigh, feeling defeated while she starts loading the sci-fi section.
"I don't really. She is always either at school, work, home, or your house." She shrugs in response.
"Okay, thank you anyway." I tell her, going to head back home in hopes of her calling.
"Wait Eddie, I think there's something you might want to know about why (Y/N) is the way she is." Robin calls, stopping me.
"What is it?" I ask turning around.
Reader's P.O.V-
I see the van pull up as Eddie's face lights up seeing my car.
Parking next to me, he hops out as I stand up out of my seat.
Eddie takes the first step, walking to wrap his arms around me tightly.
Connecting my body with his, I hold him close. Feeling the tears start to fall down my face as I hug him.
"I'm sorry." I sniffle against his shoulder.
"No it's okay, I'm sorry. I didn't know what you had been through." He shushes me as I pull away slightly, eyes still watering as I look at him confused.
"Don't be mad at Robin, I went to the store looking for you and she told me about what happened your freshman year." Eddie tells me, bringing his hands to wipe away my tears.
"I should of told you before things got this serious." I admit, bringing my hands to hold his wrist as he cradles my face.
"Are we still serious?" Eddie asks hopefully, smiling pulling on his lips as his head tils towards me.
"Do you want to be?" I ask, eyes lighting up as the moonlight danced across his face.
"More than anything." He nods, eyes gleaming down at me.
"Good, because I want this too." I smile, feeling Eddie bring his lips to mine.
The kiss feeling soft against my lips as he pressed his into mine.
"So does that mean you're going to be my girl?" Eddie smiles, pulling away slightly.
"And you're going to be my man?" I nod happily, referring to the lyrics he sung earlier that night.
Standing up slightly on my the tips of my toes, I connect my lips with his.
Deciding it was okay to be vulnerable with him.

"They ain't lap dogs you know, they're working dogs and you spoil em too much" but mousey is for sure his lap dog lmao
so now farmer finally has them. what now? would he propose, not like in the the other AU when he is older? or would he just start going around the town telling people about his little wife/husband/spouse? because, what is little mouse supposed to do? they just can't say no to the only person that is so nice to them, the only person that takes care and protect them (or so the farmer say). mousey must return the favour.
I literally was going to answer about an hour ago but got completely distracted by making a mood board for the farmer's two dogs cause you reminded me of them. whoops!
Anyway!
Oh for sure!!!! He doesn't need his boys to be his lap dogs when he has the prettiest thing all to himself.
There is no way on God's green earth he will ever actually propose. Don't get me wrong, he wants nothing more than to marry his little mouse and put a ring on it. But actually courting them? Actually having to be vulnerable and open himself up to rejection?
Never ever going to happen.
I can see this going really two ways, there is a third secret option but that's for later.
The first way is he just starts acting like you're married. Tells everyone in town he can't stay too long or the missus/ his partner will be getting worried. Gushes about your cooking to anyone who will listen makes it clear that he's got a sweet little thing waiting all for him back at home. Carries a Polaroid picture of you hugging Pancho, with a big wide smile and while Lefty sooks in the corner. He'll show it off whenever he has the chance, talking about you and your boys.
Those who watched you two that day at the farmers' market just nod their heads with smiles and wish him all the best. He probably starts even wearing a plain gold band. Proud to show it off.
Meanwhile, the reader is confused when the very rare times they leave the farm everyone wishes them congratulations (and asks if any kids will be coming).
Mouse brings it up to the farmer and tells them they don't want people getting the wrong idea. They're just friends. The farmer just laughs at this.
"It's a bit too late to stop them from getting the wrong idea Mouse"
He practically gaslights them, I mean what's the big problem? Who cares if a few town folks think they got hitched. They are living together. You do act like a homemaker. You can't blame anyone for thinking you two had been married for years. The only thing stopping you two from actually being seen as truly married is the lack of a ring on your finger and you not being in his bed.
And would it really be so bad? Being his?
He's been so good to you. So kind. Like how a real husband would act. He looks after you and protects you. Buys you the prettiest things and asks nothing in return.
But now he is. Now he's asking for payment. Be his little homemaker in law as well and he'll take care of you like he always has.
You can't say no. You quit your job when your cottage burned down, just as the farmer told you to.
"I'll look after you mouse. Until you get back on your feet of course"
No one is hiring in town and even if you did get a job you wouldn't be able to buy or even rent a house. There was nowhere to go. There was taking the chance on living on the streets but wouldn't it just be easier to just say yes?
He was kinda right. You've already practically been his stay-at-home sweetheart, how bad would it be if you put a ring on your finger. This is everything you've ever wanted. To be his pretty spouse, him all to yourself.
So why did it feel so wrong?
The second is mostly fem reader but he would not be against baby trapping. If for even one moment he thought you would say no to being his wife, he would resort to baby trapping. I always view this fic set in the 60s or 70s (maybe even 50s) so there would be no way you could leave him with a babe in your belly. You would have no husband and no support. So of course you don't really have a choice. You're already on thin ice living with a single man, but that was something you could cover by explaining why. But a baby? That can't be hidden, can't be explained away. So as soon as you knew, the farmer would have a priest ready and waiting.

Zoro!Mingi
inspired by the live action one piece netflix recently did...
I've never watched the anime and I know absolutely nothing about the lore, I'm literally just going based off my obsession with mackenyu and mingi so please bear with me
thinking about Mingi as Zoro...
hear me out
pink haired, buzzcut Ming??
just green instead
iconic if I do say so
anyway
you live a simple life on a little, fairly unknown island in the East Blue
of course, you're well aware of pirates, it's impossible to live here and NOT have any exposure to them
or their drama
but nonetheless, you stay out of it
you wake up in the morning in your humble little home and go to and from work at the bar
which isn't even really a bar
more like a hang out spot for people who happen to pass by
at most, the bar has like, 10 customers, but even then, they never get too rowdy
it's a simple life, but you're grateful for the peace and quiet
and the stability
so when you wake up one fine morning, you really don't expect anything to be different today
after all, you've lived here for years, and as mundane as it sounds, every day has been the same, day in and day out
you do your morning routine, splashing some water on your face and making yourself a simple breakfast, some lightly toasted bread with butter
and a small glass of milk
you were craving some coffee, but your stash was running a little low and you were not in the mood to go to the market anytime soon to stock up
so, after getting ready and eating your breakfast, you grab your small satchel and leave the house, heading to work
you wave hello to your boss and your other coworker as you walk in, being greeted back enthusiastically by the latter
after putting on your frayed apron and tying your hair up, you walk back out and began helping your coworker wipe down some of the tables
it was a quiet day, only two lone patrons in the entire building
eventually, your boss had disappeared to some unknown area
(probably to flirt with the owner from the store next door, but that's none of your business)
you had sent your coworker on her break, despite her insistence on staying to help you out
"Unless a band of pirates or the marines show up requesting an absurd amount of liquor, I think I'll be just fine managing the two people here" you said
taking a glance at the older man who was passed out on the table with multiple bottles of beer surrounding him, you continued
"and I don't think he'll be much of a problem anyways"
sighing, your coworker relented and thanked you, taking off her apron and disappearing into the back
the sound of the wooden beads that acted as a curtain clinking together brought you out of your thoughts
"welcome in!" you called out, bending down to grab the rag you had dropped before standing back up
the first thing you noticed about the man was just how big he was
he was tall and incredibly well-proportioned
his shoulders were wide and you could easily see the muscles in his arms thanks to the almost-too-small shirt he wore
wrapped around his tiny waist was a black cloth, and hanging from there were sheaths that carried not one, but three swords
quirking a brow, you allowed your gaze to creep up the man's body and towards his face
his hair was cut short, but it was also incredibly green
he had three earrings hanging from his left ear that swayed with every shift of the man's head
the man's face was beautiful, in a somewhat terrifying way
he had plump lips and a strong, straight nose
he had high cheekbones that could probably cut through glass and his eyes were perhaps the most beautiful, yet most intimidating things you had ever seen in your life
you watched as his eyes carefully scanned the room before spotting your figure
slowly, the man made his way to the corner of the bar and pulled out the seat before sitting down
he let out a loud sigh through his nose and looked over at you
"Three beers please"
his voice was so deep, deeper than the ocean surrounding your little island
"Coming right up" you turned around, grateful for an excuse to do something so you wouldn't get caught ogling
quickly grabbing three bottles from the cooler, you popped them open before placing them in front of the man
you sent him a small smile "Let me know if I can get you anything else"
he nodded in thanks before grabbing the first bottle and tossing it back
turning back around, you busied yourself with wiping down the back of the counter, sending occasional glances towards the green-haired man
a few minutes passed of you sneaking glances towards the man before you were startled by the loud sounds of yelling
looking up, you noticed a group of men, pirates, who had entered the bar
they were loud and rowdy, everything a pirate typically was, and you internally sighed
here we go
the pirates walked up to the counter and obnoxiously sat themselves down, ignoring the loud scraping of the chairs from how aggressively they had pulled them out
one of the men eyed you standing there and beckoned you over with a wave of his hand
grimacing, you placed a fake smile on your face and walked over
"what can I help y'all with?"
you could feel the eyes of the pirates moving up and down your body and resisted the urge to shiver
"get us the hardest liquor you have, in bulk, sweet thing"
you internally rolled your eyes, sending the man a curt nod
"coming right up"
-
an hour had passed since the green-haired man and the group of pirates had walked in
your coworker had since come back from her break, and, feeling bad for the poor girl's terrified looks toward the pirates, offered to take care of them while she attended to any of the other patrons
that unfortunately included the man with the swords who had first caught your eye, but you shrugged it off
he seemed to keep to himself, so you figured you could still admire him from afar
meanwhile, the group of pirates you had offered to take care of were slowly testing your patience
ignoring the copious amounts of alcohol they were consuming (you're pretty sure they were about to drink your work dry), they had become increasingly disruptive
the majority of the group were all incredibly drunk, shouting and yelling at anyone who supposedly looked at them wrong and breaking glasses and chairs, practically anything they touched
they had even begun to shout at you whenever they wanted more alcohol
while, to a certain extent, you were used to this, it doesn't mean it didn't get on your nerves
"GIRL!" a loud shout sounded out throughout the room
you sighed, turning around
"get us more alcohol now!" one of the men slurred
he could barely sit up straight and was leaning most of his body weight onto the passed out man next to him
"I'm sorry sir, but I'm afraid I can't give you anymore," you sent him a strained smile
the man's face dropped and a scowl appeared on his face
"what do you mean? You bitch, you're probably keeping it from us!"
his face turned red in anger and he slammed his hand onto the counter
you barely flinched, staring the man down
"Sorry sir, but you and your crew are being too disruptive so I'm not allowed to give you any more drinks today"
turning around, you were about to begin washing some of the other cups when the feeling of something flying past your ear stopped you
something shattered on the wall right next to your head
the gasp of your coworker seemed to echo throughout the otherwise quiet bar
freezing, you glanced down at the floor only to see the remains of a glass cup
"If you don't want that cup to be aimed at your head, you'll bring us more drinks," the man shouted
you turned around angrily
"get out of my bar," you looked at the man in his eyes
he let out a sarcastic laugh
"I'm not listening to some stupid little girl," he snarled
"I'm not going to tell you again, get out of my bar or I have no problem making sure you and your crew will never be allowed to dock at this island ever again"
Can I actually do that? No. But he doesn't need to know that, you thought, secretly praying he wouldn't realize you were bluffing
the man snarled and within a split second, he was lunging across the counter with his arms outreached, attempting to grab you by the throat
you flinched, throwing your arms up in an attempt to protect yourself as much as physically possible from the angry pirate
but hands never came
opening your eyes, you blinked down at the floor before carefully looking up past your forearms
you saw the pirate who had lunged at you frozen with one leg on top of the counter and two hands outstretched
his eyes were wide and they looked downwards
following his eyesight, you couldn't help but gape at the long blade that was being held mere centimeters away from the man's throat
you followed the blade up its hilt and up the arm that was holding it only to find at the end, the green-haired man
he wasn't even looking at the pirate, sitting almost casually at the counter with his other arm preoccupied holding his beer
throwing the last remaining liquid down his throat, the man wiped his mouth before throwing a sideways glance at the pirate whom he still held his blade against his throat
"I think the lady asked you to get out of her bar."
the man's voice was even deeper, if possible
almost as if his voice broke whatever trance the entire bar seemed to be in, all hell broke loose the second those words left the green-haired man's mouth
the other pirates all but growled, immediately yanking out their own swords and charging towards the man
who still sat completely unfazed
"hey!-"
before you could even say anything, the green-haired man was up and had one of his swords drawn
almost as if he was fighting against children, the man was able to completely knock out every single pirate who had charged at him within seconds
you stood behind the counter, staring at him in awe
he didn't even look like he was sweating
the man stood with his sword drawn and pointed at the pirate who had initially lunged at you, head faced downwards
slowly, he looked up and cocked a brow at the pirate
"your move"
the pirate scowled and, grabbing his hat from where it lay on the bar, walked out of the room yelling profanities
and leaving his passed out crew behind
gaping, you watched as the man gracefully sheathed his sword and slowly sat back down in his original seat
you stared at him for a few seconds before grabbing something from beside you and walking over to where the man sat
you placed another beer on the counter and slowly slid it toward him
he glanced at the beer and then up at you
"A thank you," you started, "for stopping that man from trying to kill me."
the man nodded and wordlessly grabbed the bottle, taking a long sip
" I hate pirates like that," he spoke lowly
you nodded
"part of the job unfortunately," you shrugged
the man hummed
it was silent for a few seconds
"what's your name?" you asked curiously
the man glanced up at you through his eyelashes
bringing the beer to his mouth, he spoke over the rim of the bottle
"Mingi."
you nodded
"Mingi.." you tested the name on your tongue
"Well, Mingi, thank you again for helping me. If you ever need anything, I owe you one," you swore, holding out your pinky
the man, Mingi, looked down at your finger before looking back at you with a questioning look
"pinky promises can't be broken," you explained
it was silent for a moment as Mingi stared at your hand
you were about to pull your hand back, feeling embarrassed that you were using a childish action to make a promise
even if you wholeheartedly believed in it
but then
another pinky linked with yours
looking up, you saw Mingi already staring at you, a small smirk resting on his face
"I'll hold you to that, doll."

what does hongjoong think of how jungkook and chaeri are with eachother now? like what does he think of their current relationship and their past one?
Hii! I felt it might be nice to add a little piece of Chaejoongs' relationship to answer this question. Thank you very much for the ask and I sincerely hope you will appreciate!
I would like to take this opportunity to remind once again that I am always late with answers and requests but slowly they will all be posted! I am always the happiest girl in the world when my inbox is full
Chaeri as the 8th and youngest member of BTS.
CHAERI'S MASTERLIST
❒ genre: Angst to fluff
❒ words: 1.7k+
❒ summary: In which Hongjoong cannot help but notice the way Jungkook looks at Chaeri
❒ warnings: Minor argument; Insecure!Hongjoong; Stuck in the traffic
❒ notes: Most of what is written reflects the way Joong sees what is happening around him, so it is not to be taken for granted that it completely reflects reality but rather is the way he perceives it. I think he is one of the healthiest people that could have happened to Chaeri, it was so hard to make him seem upset because to me he is the sweetest, softest guy in the world
Tumblr media
Late January, 2023
Jungkook sighed as he handed Hongjoong a small package of pills. "Lately, she's been pretty stubborn about taking her painkillers," he said "Still, I'd like you to carry the pack with you in case she needs some during the day. You'll be gone for a while and she still gets pain when she stress her leg"
Hongjoong had been in the former BTS dormitory's living room for fifteen minutes already. The room was enormous, much bigger than the one he shared with the group. Even with the large space and few pieces of furniture, the curtains filtering in only some of the sun’s rays created a cozy atmosphere.
It was Eden's wedding day — Ateez producer and friend to all of them — and he was there to pick up his girlfriend and go to the celebration together.
Though the band members were on tour, it was a perfect occasion for them to return to Seoul and take a break.
What made that trip especially important for Hongjoong was the fact that it was the second time he could see Chaeri after her snowboard accident from earlier in the year. As her boyfriend, he felt immense guilt for not being able to care for her during her recovery; their tour had kept him away from Korea and prevented him from being there with her.
Meanwhile, Jungkook took it upon himself to help her during that hard time.
Hongjoong had been very thankful for this, knowing that she was not alone dealing with that moment.
But as it was equally 15 minutes in which he was listening to the BTS' member talk about how he might act during the course of the day to Chaeri's needs, he couldn't help but think about how Jungkook was taking that role far too much personally.
Before he got there and started the conversation with him, he could've said that he had put aside thoughts about Chaeri's past quite confidently. It had been months since he had paid any attention to it. The relationship between them was going well and that was all that mattered, yet the thought kept nagging at him noticing the way he talked about Chaeri with such concern and care.
He drew his mind back to those few conversations they had about it to try to pick up any tiny detail that might deny the growing feeling that the man, whose identity he never wanted to know, was actually the one standing in front of him at that moment.
As Chaeri entered the room, Hongjoong couldn't help but notice the way Jungkook looked at her. It was a mix of tenderness and longing, something he had seen before, but ignored. Now, it was harder to overlook.
She smiled and the room suddenly seemed brighter. Even his "silly" thoughts stopped for a moment, all he could feel was the warmth emanating from being near Chaeri, filling every inch of him.
"Hey" he said, out of breath. She was beautiful.
Her long hair was curled at the ends, half held up by a black ribbon matching the long dress that covered the brace at her leg. He noticed how tightly she was holding onto her crutches and realized how much those tools were becoming a part of her daily routine.
'Hey' she replied, her face lighting up with joy at the sight of him. With a determined stride and unwavering spirit, she moved forward despite her injury to be by his side.
He hugged her tightly, feeling her body against his and the sweet fragrance of her perfume pervade his nose. It was then that he noticed the way Jungkook's eyes were on them, the way his face turned distant and unreadable. It was a moment because he quickly looked away to an undefined point of the room, hands in his pockets "Have fun and give my congratulations to Eden and his wife"
'He is definitely the m-' Jungkook left and Hongjoong's thoughts about him were quickly replaced with the unexpected feel of Chaeri's lips on his own. "I missed you, Joong", she said softly, and there was no room for anything else in his mind but that very instant.
.・゜゜・ ・゜゜・.
Hongjoong had planned to bring up his doubts to Chaeri several times during the ceremony, but every time he tried to, someone would interrupt them.
First, it was alternately one of the members of his group, evidently thrilled by having Chaeri back among them after months apart. Then, it was the photographer who needed to take a few more shots of them with the newlyweds. And then came the time for his group to sing for the couple, then the time for them to sit at the table to have dinner with other guests, then the time for people to come and make sure that Chaeri had recovered from the accident, and then and then and then here it was that the ceremony was over and he had not been able to spend a moment alone with his girlfriend.
Hongjoong was feeling frustrated.
He attempted so many times to have that conversation with her yet equally missed so many opportunities to do that, he even questioned the idea of asking. Perhaps he should have let it go. Maybe it was not the right time. But when the car ride home, planned to take a short 1/2 hour turned into a very long ride that after two and a half hours still kept them completely stopped in traffic, he could not hold back his thoughts.
"It's Jungkook, isn't it?"
The honking of car horns and the shouting of frustrated people from car to car were loud enough to nearly drown out Hongjoong's voice.
It was just the two of them in the big van that would've take Chaeri home and him straight to the airport to leave Korea again.
The driver, from the back seats, was barely visible through the dark divider panel that separated him from them, and to look at him, it seemed as if there were no indication he was interested in hearing their conversation. Or rather, it was really difficult to hear anything through the thick panel that provided them with privacy, so Hongjoong felt safe enough to talk.
Chaeri looked at him, her expression clouded with confusion. "What are you talking about?"
She had pulled out of her hair the bow that used to keep them tied throughout the day several minutes earlier, trying hard to make that trip as less uncomfortable as possible. Forced into that position for hours, her ankle was beginning to ache and to make her tense, but it was no one's fault. Such traffic could not have been expected.
"You know what I'm talking about. It's Jungkook, isn't it? The one you told me about, the one you were denied to be with"
Chaeri's expression remained neutral, but her eyes flickered with something he couldn't quite read. "What about him?" she asked, her voice devoid of any emotion.
"So it's him." Hongjoong leaned back in his seat and sighed, feeling a weight drop on his chest. Oh, how he'd hoped that his were only paranoid thoughts.
"I didn't know." he remarked quite sourly on the words that came out of his mouth.
"I was going to tell you, but you said it didn't matter and you didn't want to know who it was. Did you forget?" Chaeri's tone was sharp, her frustration evident.
"Well, 'cause I never thought he was someone so close to you."
Chaeri's eyes narrowed, and Hongjoong could see the anger boiling beneath the surface. "What does it matter if he's close to me or not? - It seems to me that I'm with you now, isn't it? I've never brought your old relationships up to you, why does this have to be a reason for us to fight?"
"You are the one who's getting mad"
"No, I'm not"
Hongjoong could see the way her jaw was tense. He knew he had touched a nerve, but he couldn't just let it go.
"Have you noticed how he looks at you? I-I may have been blind not to notice it before, but I'm sure you know well how he pays attention to ... every detail of yours."
"Jungkook and I, as with Namjoon, Taehyung, Jimin and all the others, are family. We all pay attention to each other's details."
"He still loves you."
"Stop it." Her voice was low and filled with warning.
"Fine." He said, defeated. "But can you blame me? Can you really blame me for worrying after what you told me about your past relationship? Can you blame me if it makes me anxious that you are living with the person whom you once told me you would probably never love anyone else for again?"
"You don't have to worry about him. He's just a friend, a family member, and that's all he'll ever be."
Chaeri's bold gaze hid a vulnerability that Hongjoong knew all too well. Her eyes darted away when he caught her looking and she turned the moment he met her eye, as if it were a reflex to hide her discomfort from him. Or was he just getting paranoid? He wanted to believe her and for a moment, he did. But then doubt crept in and he couldn't help but wonder if it was all just an act, a way of protecting herself from the truth that she had refused to face before.
Or perhaps talking about the past that had hurt her only reopened a wound that she did not feel like treating again.
Lord, he was so confused. His mind couldn't finish one thought that was already beginning to process the next one.
He bit his lip and fidgeted with the hem of his shirt before finally finding the courage to speak.
Do you still love him? - Instead, the words that came out of his mouth were quite different.
"Is it clear between you two?"
Chaeri met his gaze head-on and gave a curt nod.
Hongjoong fell into silence once again as he looked out the window of the car. The world outside was dark and foreboding, casting shadows over everything in its wake. After a few moments, he turned towards her
Are you choosing me because you can't have him or because you really want me? - But once again his mind did not connect with his words
"So ... Is it clear between us too?"
"Yes," she said softly. "It's very clear."
Sometimes she hated herself for being so hotheaded, she knew that the ways she acted sometimes might hurt people's feelings, and that was the last thing she wanted to do to Hongjoong "I'm sorry that I've been so ... rude. I just don't want the past to affect what we have now"
"I just want to make sure that we're both on the same page"
Chaeri looked warmly at Joong and brushed her thumb along the back of his hand "We are," she said, her voice a soft whisper. Despite the darkness that shrouded them, the corner of her lips tugged up into a small smile. "You calm my mind Joong, and that's the most comforting feeling someone can give me. You are the only one who can. Please, just look forward to our future, ok? Don't ever talk about the past again"
Hongjoong felt his tense shoulders soften and his chest expand with a deep breath. He thought about all of the moments that brought them to that place, and decided he wanted more for them - more time to share, more memories to make together. He leaned over and kissed Chaeri's forehead, feeling her warmth and love in every molecule around them.
He cupped her face in his hands "I promise to always look forward to our future together,"
She was about to say something when she felt his lips meet her in a soft kiss.
A wave of emotion flooded through him as he deepened the kiss, wanting to leave her with something that she would remember even after they went their separate ways later that night. He ran his fingers along the back of her neck, "I want you to think of me tonight."
Hongjoong glanced up at the partition barrier separating them from the driver, thankful for its presence.
He wanted to make the remaining time pleasant for both of them, but he could not ask himself if this was really what he wanted at that moment, or was it his attempt to distract Chaeri from her ex-boyfriend and erase these thoughts from her mind?
