☆Steve becomes flustered at first, and it takes him a little while to get used to it (not that he doesn't enjoy it or anything). Nowadays, he just relaxes in your arms, liking to be vulnerable and letting go once in a while. It shows how much he trusts you, allowing you to show this side of him. But picking him up randomly will result in him scolding you.

❄️Bucky likes it way more than he thinks he should...At first, he was surprised by it and stiffened up in your arms, but slowly relaxed and leaned into your chest, because he knows he can be vulnerable with you. He feels safe with you. But when it comes to being picked up randomly, he doesn't enjoy it. He would rather have a heads up before you do it instead.

💲Secretly fanboying Tony doesn't admit that he enjoys it and makes snark comments about it, but then he starts to complain when you would put him down. It's fun to use this to your advantage and tease him about much he likes being carried by you, watching him roll his eyes and get flustered by it.

🕸Peter blushes and shyly clings to you, not wanting you to put him down. He feels a little secure being in your arms. There are times where he just wants to be in your arms, so he'll just sit in your lap and you'll have your arms wrapped around him. Just anything to feel your touch.

⌲If you're randomly picking him up, Sam would kind of take it as a challenge, as he would try and catch you right before you can put your hands on him. If he fails to catch you, then he'll be like, "you're not going to put me down anytime soon, aren't you?"

🐜Scott feels his heart flutter whenever you pick him up, and immediately clings to you. Sometimes, he holds his arms in the air, hinting that you should pick him up and carry him. He will have fun if you pick him up randomly, being both surprised but also laughing it off.

💚The only time Bruce will let you pick him up is when he's exhausted and you're carrying him to bed. He doesn't feel comfortable being picked up randomly (cuz it might make his nerves bad).

⚡️Thor is...actually surprised that you can pick him up, but that doesn't mean it's not a pleasant surprise for him. He's always clinging to you and smiling, liking how easy it is for you to carry him. He'll always laugh along with you when you would pick him up randomly, enjoying the pleasant surprise.

🐍It always makes Loki grumpy that you pick him up; he thinks you're doing it to tease him, or to rub it in his face of how bigger and stronger you are of him. He will never admit that he may enjoy it, considering the fact that he doesn't even try to get out of your arms when you hold him.

🖤Eddie actually thinks this is much better than him walking on his own (and Venom telling him how much of a slow walker he is). He just doesn't let you do it in public unless he's exhausted. But you're not picking up Venom any time soon (cuz he won't let you, and he's way bigger than you anyway, lol).

It kinda feels personal: Rumlow, Hydra, and SteveBucky

Rumlow is interesting because he has such a specific moral code. he joined Hydra for the greater good, he was a true believer, yet he also canonly admired Steve, he made sure to let Steve know the fight wasn't personal, he ordered Rollins to not point the gun at him in public, he sympathized with Bucky.

it made so much sense that he went solo afterwards. 'there're no prisoners in Hydra, only order.' but if not Bucky then himself is proof that there WERE prisoners, perhaps most of them were. Hydra was just another death cult, no matter how they branded it.

how does this affect how we interpret the your Bucky scene? the strategy hinges on his assumption of Steve's devotion to Bucky. how could he have known? through Bucky. Rumlow knew then Hydra brainwashed Bucky frequently. still, Bucky remembered him, their bond must've been incredibly strong.

that's when it became personal. Rumlow was alone, hurt, he almost died for a cult for nothing, he was humiliated and betrayed. and here was Steve, a hero, surrounded by pals and most importantly, was so loved even Hydra's brainwashing couldn't eradicate that from Bucky. yeah so fuck Captain America and his 'friendship'. you love him as much as he loves you? well then, that's gonna be your demise just as it was his.

The Bank Scene™ in CA:TWS is such an iconic scene that I feel like sometimes we gloss over its significance.

Up to this point, we have only seen Bucky as the Winter Soldier. I think it's kind of dulled after a few watches because we know it's Bucky, but the Winter Soldier is terrifying. He's ruthless and devastatingly efficient. The look on Natasha's face when she sees him is enough to get across just how disturbing it is to be face-to-face with the Winter Soldier; even someone who knows him, someone who has fought him before, is so terrified of him.

For most of the first 1/3-1/2 of the movie, the glimpses we get of the human beneath the armor are incredibly sparse. For much of his screentime before his identity is revealed, we can't even see his eyes. He is stripped of all of his humanity. Silenced by the muzzle, physically restrained by the leather uniform, his metal arm so prominently displayed.

That's why the scene in the basement of the bank is so off-putting. Suddenly, he isn't the brutally efficient weapon, he isn't the skilled assassin. He's half-naked, restrained, and fully at the mercy of people we know for a fact he could easily kill. He lets Pierce smack him across the face without any reaction. We watch him cry and panic and tremble in fear, we watch his humanity, so long repressed, try to peek out.

Again, on our second and third and fifteenth rewatches (and for anyone at all familiar with the comics), we know all along that the Winter Soldier is Bucky. We see the Winter Soldier as a person the whole time, we empathize with him even when he's the ruthless weapon of HYDRA. The gravity of this scene is lost. But when you look at it with fresh eyes, when you fully grasp how disturbing that scene is... ugh.

☆Steve doesn't know if he should be squealing or embarrassed (spoiler alert: he's both). He thinks this is over all adorable, and gladly wraps his arms around you and kisses your neck, tickling you.

❄️Bucky freezes and is kinda surprised, but he slowly ends up smiling and hesitantly hugs you from behihd. He kind of buries his face into the crook of your neck (in a shy yet loving way). He enjoys being this close to you.

💲Tony smirks and asks what's the special occasion (cheeky bastard cough). He always brings this up and the future, and teases you by patting his lap (especially in public, he'll love to show you off).

🕸Peter is really embarrassed, but he doesn't try to gently push you off (unless you're in public lol). He hugs you from behind, though it looks like he's trying to hide himself, in more of a shy way. When you would ask him if he's uncomfortable, he immediately refuses to let you leave his lap, telling you he's happy to be with you like this.

⌲Sam ruffles your hair and teases you for the most part, joking about how his lap isn't supossed to be a seat. When you'd maybe get frustrated with him, he says he's sorry (while still laughing lmao).

🐜Scott is swooning at this point, and he doesn't really know how to react (aka him literally going back and forth forth either hug you or laying back to look cool lmao). He somehow eventually falls over and ends up on top of you.

💚Bruce blushes (and kinda wants to disappear tbh but he doesn't make any effort to get you off him). He really doesn't know how to react other than to let you sit there, and teasing him well just make him cover his face in embarrassment.

⚡️Thor cuddles with you and kisses your cheek. He absolutely loves it and it feels like you're being hugged by a huge teddy bear..

🐍Loki immediately holds you in a possessive grip. May seem dramatic to you, but it keeps him a sense of being powerful, especially with how he would touch and tease you, enjoying you squirm a little as he tells you how much yourself out there to be so vulnerable.

🖤Eddie is so happy, and happily wraps his arms around you (with Venom wanting to join in, but Eddie just wants to have some peace with you without him always chiming him lol). If you do this to Venom (which is a bad idea), it's guaranteed that he won't let you go and admits he enjoys this.
