There needs to be an Oracle movie

Barbara Gordon and her time as Batgirl. The subtle implications of misogyny (from criminals, emergency services, social media, etc.) and her struggles of being slightly outcast from the Bats (maybe not intentionally, but it's still felt). Despite that (and how hard the role is), she admits to feeling alive and powerful as Batgirl. She loves her ability to help Gotham, the city her dad tries so hard to shape up to be better.

Then the Joker shoots Barbara. He doesn't shoot Batgirl, doesn't even know it's Batgirl that's being injured, but he shoots Barbara because she's the commissioner's daughter. Her life changing injury isn't even about her.

There's the hopelessness, the grief, the sense of loss, and then Jason dies.

The Bats, try as they might to be there for her, are drowning in their own grief. They can't be there for her even if they wanted to.

She's wasting away with the realization that she's lost everything and her father is bending under the weight of supporting her and his job as commissioner.

Slowly, an idea comes to her. Slowly, when she starts looking out at Gotham's skyline and sees the clock tower, she begins to pull herself back together.

It's not an easy process, and she does return to depressive spirals and bed rotting, but she starts to have more decent days than bad. She's puts away her first criminal as Oracle. She becomes a feared force the Bats can turn to for help.

The end of the movie will hint at her starting Birds of Prey.

Tim is injured while fighting Two-Face and, because of circumstances that may or may not involve the kid's lack of spleen and a low stock of Bat-Antibiotics, his siblings are forced to take him to Mount Justice instead of the Batcave for medical care. Which is fine. Really. The only problem is that the Team is unaware that Jason is alive. Also, they're unaware of Damian and Cass's existences, and of the fact that the Robins are all siblings, and of the fact that the Bats aren't actually harboring a dangerous villain in the Red Hood, but rather a dangerous-but-friendly anti-hero in the Red Hood. Big difference.

Fine, so maybe they have some explaining to do. But dammit if they're not gonna do it the Bat way.

Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles liveblog reaction

Just a little over a minute into the movie and Barbara Gordon stops some shuriken with nothing more than a filing folder. Awesome.

Not going to lie, when I first saw a clip from this movie on Youtube, I had no idea that Batman was being played by Troy Baker and not the late Kevin Conroy. I'm looking forward to how he plays The Joker in this movie.

These heavily stylized intro credits, man. Absolutely in love. The music also fucking slaps.

Is it bad that I genuinely like Leonardo carrying his katana on his belt rather than his back like in most iterations? I know it makes him look more samurai than ninja, but it looks so badass.

I love that the Penguin is only mildly perturbed at discovering he's being attacked by mutant turtles.

"It's always the time for accuracy, Leo." If I don't see that line pop up in another TMNT iteration, I'm rioting.

I had to avoid hooting and hollering when some blood finally showed up. LET MY ANIMATED TMNT BOYS BE BLOODY!

"It's a sword-brella too? I think I love this little guy!" MIKEY

SHREDDER JUST KILLED ONE OF HIS OWN GUYS <- Less shocked that it happened and more shocked that it happened explicitly on-screen

I love that the Turtles' battle with Penguin was full of goofy wise quips whereas Batman's battle with the Foot + Shredder is 100% serious with very little dialogue to speak of

Mikey is gonna spend this movie fanboying over all the stuff in Gotham, isn't he?

RAPHAEL LITERALLY JUST KICKED PENGUIN'S HENCHMEN OFF THE ROOF SFJGKDJFKFH

Raphael throws the first punch; gets his ass kicked by Batman

"I think we should see other people." "But I don't like other people." Awkward lesbian breakup is interrupted by random turtle being thrown into the pizza parlor by Batman.

"Ninja... turtles?" That's TEENAGE MUTANT Ninja Turtles to you, Bruce Wayne!

Ah, so this is one of the iterations where Baxter Stockman was turned into a mutant fly? He's also surprisingly polite. (I'm used to him being more self-centered and egotistical.)

"So he wears a Dracula costume and punches clowns. Who cares?! Dirtbag stole my sai!" "Dracula costume? What kind of Dracula movies are you watching?" SJGKDFJGKFDHJKGH

I am loving how Leonardo and Raphael were characterized for this movie. I'm kinda wishy-washy towards Donatello and Michelangelo.

The shots where the turtles are silhouettes with the only colored parts being the masks * chef kiss *

Mikey is 100% fully aware that he is touching things that are not supposed to be touched.

"What are you, five?" Says Donatello before having his bo stolen by Robin. "Hey, little guy. We didn't come here to fight," says Leonardo before Robin beats his kneecaps.

I keep forgetting that most iterations have the turtles capable of partially or completely retracting inside their shells. (The 2003 series is one of the few iterations where they can't, although they might have if Peter Laird got his way.)

"So, are we not going to beat up these green losers?" "It's not looking like it, no." Robin is literally a mini Raph.

Ra's al Ghul: * decapitates a security guard * Me: * proceeds to check the movie rating online * I'm sorry, it's only rated PG-13?!

God damn, this movie is literally what TMNT 2003 could have been if it didn't have to SOMEWHAT restrain itself so it could air on the 4Kids block.

Harley Quinn literally beckoned Shredder over to her cell just to check her makeup in his mask.

"I offer to cook a gourmet meal and they want pizza. Teenagers." To be fair, I'm one of the cheapest dates around. You could take me to Wendy's and I'd be happy.

"An immortal Shredder? That would... suck." Is someone gonna tell him?

"Calling me 'dude' is not helping your case, Master Michelangelo." It's worth noting that Alfred said his name how it's actually pronounced in Italian. Nice touch.

Donnie soothing Mikey by putting a slice of pizza in his mouth while patting his head. Weird, but oddly wholesome.

Okay, how the ever living FUCK is Troy Baker not only able to channel Kevin Conroy's performance as the Batman, but Mark Hamill's as the Joker?

Fucking Commissioner Gordon's reaction to the turtles just breathes "this might as well just happen at this point."

Harley Quinn being offended at Joker referring to her as "Nurse" instead of "Doctor," oh my god.

Even Batgirl and Robin are aware of how much of a downer Batman is.

Oh god, this bit where Scarecrow's fear gas makes Leonardo hallucinate his brothers being devoured by crows is absolutely brutal.

Is it bad that I think Donnie and Batgirl actually have quite a bit of chemistry?

Welp, Poison Ivy learned the hard way that being mutated into a giant Venus Fly Trap does not have its perks.

Mikey's reaction to Joker and Harley kissing with tongues was basically my reaction.

Okay, the reveal that combining the Joker Venom with the TCRI Ooze not only transforms you, but drives you mad is highkey disturbing. And Joker just injected Batman with it. Oh fucking shitnuggets.

Did Batman just kill Mr. Freeze?

Batgirl just proved that you CAN give your superheroes capes as long as they're detachable.

"You saved him... Thank you." * MIKEY GIVES ROBIN THE BIGGEST BEAR HUG * "Please stop!"

Mikey freaking out over Batman being Bruce Wayne, and Raph facepalming... god, I love these brothers.

Damn, Raph being the one to give Batman the talk about what a family is and how it works...

How is it that Robin and I had the same reaction to the Turtle Wagon in this movie. "Lame... OH FUCK, IT'S ACTUALLY AWESOME."

Did Donnie just take out the crane using manhole covers painted with pizza designs?

Donnie and Batgirl continue to bicker over calling the antidote "anti-ooze" or "retro-mutagen"

"Michelangelo, press some buttons." "I've always wanted to hit every button." Bruce, you need to be nicer to your child.

I'm 100% Ra's al Ghul took off his shirt just to show how muscular he is to Leo and Don.

"You... are a terrible disappointment." I feel like that's something Shredder wanted to say to Stockman for a while.

RA'S AL GHUL JUST BROKE DONNIE'S ARM, THE FUCKER

God, this movie's climax is just the definition of TENSE

"Foolish child. I'm hundreds of years old, and have trained with the greatest teachers in history. How could you possibly--" IS KICKED IN THE BALLS. "Oh yeah? Well, I'm 16, and I learned this from a rat."

We literally have Mikey to thank for Gotham not becoming infested with feral mutants. He and Donnie are also saved from falling to their deaths by a combination of their turtle physiology and sheer dumb luck.

So, uh, is Shredder going to become crazy like The Joker now?

Movie ends with a pizza party in the Batcave just before the turtles head back to New York. Friggin wholesome.

These ending credits are so awesome

Why did I have to fucking right about Shredder becoming a second Joker? AND WHERE IS THE SEQUEL?

i really hate how the DC writers and some fans are so obsessed with “which batfamily can beat which” and with just seeing “cool fight scenes” and stuff

This awful obsession keeps taking precedence over and destroying any semblance of actual good creative stories

Jason Todd is probably one of the most common victim of this BS, see RHATO 25 and all of those stupid fights between Jason & the batfamily in Task Force Z, the writers making the characters fight in situations they absolutely don’t have to, at least not without trying to talk it out first (there was absolutely no reason for Jason & the batfamily not to communicate about what’s going on with the task force, it was literally only engineered to be a total failure of communications to have a batfamily VS Jason fight that looks cool)

i don’t actually read a lot of comics, i read task force z just to get context on that panel where Cassandra spooks Jason, but i’m sure other people here can tell examples where it happens to other characters too, but i do think Jason is a more common victim of this simply due to DC not having any real direction to take his character to because they won’t let go of the Joker, and even without that simply because they won’t let go of the conflict between Jason & Bruce, because “if it’s not broken don’t fix it” and these people are concerned with making money not with telling a compelling story

Also, like, fighting isn’t all the members of the batfamily can do????? They have a wider skillet than that, with each of them also having their own unique specialization??????

Dick is one of the best acrobats in the world, and extremely capable & experienced vigilante, he’s the oldest of the batkids and has the most experience as a result, and he’s also a leader in the vigilante community

Barbara is Oracle, a legendary hacker and leader+coordinator of multiple superhero teams, top notch computer skills second to none as well as multitasking and crisis management

Jason is a master tactician, he can toy with people and factions in extremely long term plans to achieve the results he wants

Tim is the shoe-in to being the world’s greatest detective, he’s a very capable vigilante overall, and his computer skills are top notch, not that far behind Barbara

i don’t know if Stephanie is considered “the best” of any batfamily skill in particular, i suspect this may be due to writers’ sexism treating her more like an emotional support character to others rather than as her own character most of the time, i don’t actually read the comics that much and my information is what i decided should be canon based on what i learned from the fandom and in my opinion makes for the most compelling story, please do tell me if Steph has been written to be exceptional even in the batfamily in any particular skill, she deserves to be

Cassandra is the world’s best combatant, hands down, she stopped and restarted a man’s heart to make a point using just a palm strike, in a front-on battle she can literally take anyone down before they can really perceive that she’s there, and her combat skills also happen to allow her to read people like an open book

Damian was trained by the league of assassins from birth, he’s extremely capable in everything in a similar manner to how Bruce is, his character arc is even not really about him learning how to be a badass vigilante and more about him learning how to express himself and connect with others

Duke is literally a superpowered hypergenius, i don’t think i can do justice to his abilities here so go look at his wiki page

Stop constantly making these people fight each other!!! There’s more to them than that, and it just makes for shitty stories!!!!

ROTT Thoughts

I know that there's a lot of heat in the TOA fandom and mixed opinions on the ROTT ending and other parts of the movie. Honestly I'm totally cool with everyone whether they enjoyed or disliked all of it, or parts of it, but here are some of my honest opinions. Most importantly, I do NOT condone any attacks on the team that created the movie or anyone with a different opinion.

⚠️ Spoilers and a LOOOOONG post below!

Ok so I'll be completely honest, for the most part, I enjoyed the movie until the very end. I loved the animation and the score and the overall plot with the titans. I loved all the fight scenes with the titans and seeing Nari being a badass!

And of course all the characters arcs minus Mpreg Steve (that was super creepy and ruined Staja in the movie) and I also feel like Eli barely did anything. It just felt like reverse character development for them esp after seeing them grow in the TOA series.

Everyone else was great! I loved seeing Jim lose his confidence after reverting back to a human and no longer having Merlin's amulet and seeing him grow to see himself as a capable hero. Claire was a total badass with her shadow magic! Ofc Jlaire was amazing as always!! I loved seeing Douxie with his cool magic. And the Gun Robot giant was AMAZING!! And the Excalibur scene was fantastic!!

Now I'll get to the death scenes. Each and every one made me an emotional mess! Especially since Nomura and Strickler started out as antagonists and grew so much! And I was excited that Strickler and Barbara were finally getting married (I thought the movie would end with their wedding 😭💔). And Toby's death hit me so hard! I absolutely loved his scene where he went to disable Bellroc's magic! And him dying in sacrifice was so beautiful and emotional.

Now to the end. I absolutely hated it and pretend it never happened. For me it felt like a slap in the face. For me, the TOA series were perfect for the most part! There was so much character development, magnificent plot, lots of adventure, romance and friendship, such an amazing story. And with that ending, it just felt like it threw everything out of the window. Like Jim's the only one who remembers everything, like apparently all TOA was just his dream. But what about everyone else? Like Claire? Their romance and her devotion to Jim? Her growth from a popular girl who tries so hard to please her parents and watching her grow and mature throughout the series and become a badass with shadow magic? Steve growing from a bully to a creepslayer and being with Aja? Eli growing from being bullied to Earth's ambassador on Akiridion 5? Aja and Krel coming to Earth and joining the gang? Douxie joining the gang? Jims friendship with Blinky and Draal?? Toby's friendship with Aaarrrgghh and his beautiful sacrifice to save the world?

Speaking of Toby, I strongly disagree with the whole 'he was nothing more than comic relief an a sidekick to Jim' rhetoric in the fandom. Yes he maybe a comic relief sidekick but he rocks his war hammer and has helped Jim with alot of missions. He helped Jim kill Angor Rot, he found the birthstone, he destroyed the shadow staff, and he shined a lot in 3below too! These are a few of the things he's done but honestly he's the best sidekick and best friend I've seen written in fiction and got so much character development leading up to his sacrifice in ROTT. Yes there are points for improvement but that doesn't deny that he's a badass character! And the ending erased all of that too! I get that him becoming the trollhunter seems 'Toby rights' but I feel that with how the entire show was written, it just went against both Toby and Jim's characters.

Like why would Jim throw all this load on his best friend? Especially after accepting his destiny and responsibility as trollhunter? Why would he throw away his relationship with Claire after all they've been through? There was so much loss throughout the series, like Jim losing Draal, Aja and Krel losing their own parents, Douxie losing Merlin who was his own father-figure?! They were extremely painful but each of them had to move on and grow while still honoring their lost loved ones. I know Tobes was super important to Jim but I feel like he should've been able to grow and move on and honor his friend for the rest of his life. Or for writing purposes, for a happier storyline, maybe the kronosphere could've been used to save Toby and maybe even Strickler and Nomura as well without resetting the whole entire timeline of TOA. Since ROTT was finale for all of TOA, maybe a fast forward to when they rebuilt Arcadia and are finally living happier adult lives would've felt so satisfying, it would symbolize growth and happiness even after the worst apocalypse like the one they were in (Even irl people grow after a war or natural disaster, despite the trauma). But the problem with ending we got was that it not only erased all the events of TOA, but it left us with an indefinite plot hole which was completely unsatisfying and feels like a reverse growth. It left me feeling bitter and empty rather than saying goodbye to my faves on positive note.

Hopefully this clarifies why I (and perhaps others in the fandom) feel very negative about the way it ended. If you've read this far, thank you much for taking the time to read my opinion and rants, and excuse any typos I might have, I typed this on my phone on low sleep lol! 😅

hello!! i’m doing alright, got a bit of a cold but it’s relatively mild ^^

this is an interesting premise!! jotted down some ideas under the cut ^^

xiao’s based in chinese culture so the kind of demons he conquers aren't quite the same as the theological demons that the om demons are based on, so he wouldn’t automatically sense and attack them or anything, but he’s still very cautious (levi thinks he’s the coolest because he’s like a badass anime character complete with tragic backstory in real life)

knowing who supposedly ‘fathered’ the om brothers, they’d probably be very unsettled by having a god among them, so if any of the archons ended up being the transfer, they’d be best off keeping their godhood a secret until they’re more familiar with everyone

asmo and lisa would be best pals. two pretty best friends. they have like little gossip sessions over tea and asmo helps lisa make excuses for skipping work in return for her providing cool electro lighting for his photos

lisa would also get along with satan - she's a librarian and he loves reading, and he can understand why she's so strict about books being returned on time. that aside he also respects how clever she is

xingqiu, however, would NOT get along with satan, despite the two both being bookworms. they'd get into heated debates over their books and would absolutely brawl over it

(xingqiu pulls a sword out of nowhere and suggests they 'take this outside like gentlemen' while satan just straight up flings a chair at him)

satan would also immediately take diona under his wing if she was the transfer student. he just adopts her as his kid and can and would beat up anyone who looks at her funny (would also be 100% willing to help take down the wine industry with her)

mammon and zhongli have a mutual lack of money and mammon keeps attempting to drag zhongli into money-making schemes while the gentleman is completely oblivious to what he's up to

childe keeps challenging beel to battles because he's got the physique of a good fighter and childe wants to know if he could realistically beat up someone that beefy without his vision

xiangling is intimidated by the sheer amount of tall men at first but soon enough settles right in and is fascinated by devildom cuisine. beel never wants her to leave because she is literally incapable of making anything that doesn't taste good to him

luke and barbara become best friends (simeon jokingly comments that they look like a set of twins). they cook and bake together and barbara teaches luke some of her simpler dance routines and they just have a lot of fun

yanfei is capable of talking circles around lucifer and diavolo for hours so she never gets into trouble for anything. satan enjoys listening to her law lectures because he finds the subject genuinely fascinating, while belphie’s mainly interested in getting her to help him prank lucifer without consequence

venti keeps thinking he’s being addressed whenever someone talks to barbatos and he jumps out of his skin whenever it happens because no one down here is supposed to know that he’s a god (they all just think he’s some very young-looking music nerd)

THINGS I LOVED FROM TITANS S3

1. Blackfire. Let's start there. She has my heart on a spike. She's badass, level headed, royalty incarnate... everything I could've asked for to balance Anna's iteration of Starfire. Just perfect. And so is Damaris Lewis. 💜

2. Savannah Welch is the most awesome portrayal of Barbara Gordon I've seen. I hope this character gets more shine, possibly in a spin-off. This iteration is too precious to lose or waste.

3. The solo/less crowded character episodes. This might be controversial...most fans don't like them as they tend to lag the plot. But do you know what I loved about Souls and Lazarus? It's the in depth character focus. The emotional stakes. Fewer characters being handled as well. I wish the magic in those episodes could also be applied to the team focused episodes, where we get to connect emotionally and more deeply with the other characters. Sometimes it feels like I don't know them as well or deeply. It's not enough to see them in action scenes. We need to feel like we can relate to them on a deep, personal level too. We need heart warming or heart breaking character interactions as well. They should follow the example of Blackfire and Conner's scenes. Those were overflowing with emotion, soul and stakes. We didn't want them arguing or fighting. We need to feel strongly for the Titans that way. It's what made season 1 magical.

4. Tamaran. This was overdue but I'm glad with even the little we saw of it. Kory plays a huge role in the Titans just like Rachel and Dick have been portrayed to. We need to be reminded why that is. We need the team to feel and care for her openly. More scenes of Dick, Kory, Gar and Rachel with the rest as a family. No more psychiatrists to act as mediators. Just the Titans taking Kory's matters into their own hands because she doesn't have to fight things out alone. And she's not as strong as she seems. Even the strongest of us need love, care, attention and help.

5. Gar. I screamed when he had a different transformation! I loved the brains and emotional aptitude he brought to the team. Need to see and understand more about him. He also needs to be made more complex. Many tend to underestimate him as the good guy who gives comic relief and saves others. I'll admit this season delved deeper into his insecurities just a bit. But I'd like some more. There's a storm in there that needs to be unleashed and new threats and experiences that could shape Gar into something we've always dreamed he'd be: formidable and a big deal. No longer underestimated. He and Dick definitely need more screen-time together to push some more development.

6. May I add as a sidenote that many characters brought their A game this season in terms of power, strength and capabilities? Rachel took the cup for me. I'm so proud. Donna was awesome. Conner's intellectual capabilities were also used more this season and I absolutely loved that. Blackfire was on fire, even without her powers lol.

I'm going to need the Titans showrunners to step things up with Kory. I need my powerhouse season 1 Kory back. I'm very curious to see where they're headed with the power swap storyline and her new powers, but in general, I wasn't as pleased with how things panned out for her? 🤷

There's still time to make things better. Season 3 was definitely a step up from season 2, but I want more. The season 1 glory needs to be restored then upgraded.

13. What’s the worst character assassination you’ve seen happen? Barbara Gordon in the New 52. She went from a capable and confident character to... what is basically a twelve-year-old.

19. Rant about a change they made to a character of your choice. CONTINUING FROM WHAT I JUST SAID. Pre-52 Babs is such a badass character and when we're talking about strong female characters in media... she has to be at the top of the list. She was so flawed and human and fantastic disabled rep and she was so fucking real. And then the N52 came along and now Babs... I can't stand her. Babs was never a fave for me, but in modern comics, she's someone I actively dread seeing. She acts like a child most of the time and gets treated less and less like a person with every appearance. I hate how they've written her and how a lot of modern comics have like... I dunno, they've just prioritized her relationships with men over her relationships with women. Like, Dinah Lance was one of the most important people in her life, but some comics give the vibe that Jason Todd means more to Babs.

I know Kory is definitely going to make Dick work for her, I also believe Dick is up for the challenge. Ultimately, Dick was drawn to (from the moment he met her) - Kory’s confidence. Remember, she had amnesia and was still out here being a badass boss chick. and he admired that. She also always honest with him. She was honest with him about how she felt about him trying to leave Rachel with Hank & Dawn. She brought the tequila to his room, she’s the one that pumped the brakes on a relationship until they figured out who she was and who he’s going to be. She’s also the one that figured out that he was going to go off on his own with Deathstroke. She was about to lay Hank out when Dick told the team what actually happened with Jericho and he punched Dick. Kory’s the one that went with Rachel to break Dick out of jail. Not Dawn or his best friend Donna. Moreover, she didn’t get in her feelings (to much) when Dick had his rekindled relationship with Barbara (wasting her time in Gotham with Scarecrow and Jason) while she was dealing with her sister, Conner and Gar. However, I admittedly was ready to see Kory go down to the station and talk to Barbara about Dick getting shot by a sniper on her ordere would have loved to be a fly on the wall when Barbara called Kory to tell her that Dick had an accident on his motorcycle and was in the hospital. She’s always there for Dick when he needs it as a friend/partner and it’s time for him to reciprocate!!

Anon, you get the dynamic between DickKory. I honestly believe Dick could just smile at Kory and offer one of his ‘Dick Grayson flirty comments’ like “I liked the way you blocked my moves in training today, wanna go on a date with me tomorrow?” and Kory’s answer will be yes. As gone as Dick is for Kory, I know the feelings are mutual. I however, will like to see him work harder than he ever has, to get her. I don’t want it to be easy because that will mean we get more of a build up to them finally getting together.

You touch on so many reasons why these two are just perfect for each other. Kory understands Dick and gives him the room to be himself without judgement but you best believe she will set him straight and not let him get away with any BS, like we saw throughout S1 and 2.

I like the act of reciprocity they have between them but most importantly it is born of honesty and trust. No matter what idiotic move Dick makes, that trust Kory has in and her need to protect him never wavers. Like you pointed out, the OGs have known Dick the longest and yet non of them knew the suicidal mission he was about to embark on with Deathstroke, but it only took him complimenting her hair for Kory to know this fool was about to sacrifice himself. At the core, they know each other beyond the superficial aspects and will protect each other with their lives as friends, partners and lovers.

We’ve seen how fiercely Dick defends and fights for Kory(aka asylum) so imagine how feral he will go once they are finally together. Even though he knows Kory is capable of protecting herself, I fear for anyone who tries to harm her.

In terms of DB rekindling whatever that thing was, I was honestly glad Kory was unfazed by it. It’s just not in her nature to be jealous. If I’m not mistaken, (someone correct me if I’m wrong) I believe the Tamaraneans are more about sharing their love. To add to Richard and all his exes showing up (May Babs be the last) , I’m also glad we were saved from a triangle with DickDawn.🙏🙏

Also, you are definitely not the only one who wanted Kory to go and have words with Barb after he was shot. It is funny to me that Dick Grayson did not even object and Gar had to be the one, ( always the common sense committee). We love a husband who is ok with his wife being a badass and fighting his battles. LOL. I am excited for S4 and to see them finally get together. We’ve waited long enough and it’s time to collect our reward.

thoughts on/hcs for steph?

There's this one post (not mine) that kind of explores my thoughts on Steph. I think it's a downright shame that her character gets simplified to liking purple, waffles, and being a blonde girl. She is extremely badass. There are so many hobbies and abilities she does that just don't get talked about (her gymnastics, piano, etc.).

Taking her physical capabilities aside, how the fuck did she manage to be strong enough (willpower and emotionally) to deal with everything she did?

Tim is my favorite Robin due to the entire tragedy that is his Robin. Unlike the ones before and Damian, he had less support and care at the start of his Robin.

Steph, though? Absolutely no support from Bruce when she started being a vigilante. Her time as Robin was hell. She was constantly belittled and disregarded (before, during, and after she became Robin). She kind of reminds me of Barbara in that way (being disregarded by Bruce and establishing herself independently because of it).

Steph is strong as fuck to overcome everything she did. Even putting Black Mask and her dying aside, her becoming a vigilante to stop her father without support is amazing. She was constantly told to quit or met the resistance of a Bat for her efforts. She kept going in spite of that. I admire her resilience.

I have been sitting on the idea of her and Tim's relationship. To me, I think they are horrible for each other romantically. They are too toxic and butt heads too much for a romantic relationship.

Platonically, though? They are each other's soul mate. I love the idea that they know each other and are there for each other on another level. It would be similar to Tim's relationship with YJ, but still more. Those two tried a romantic relationship because they meant so much to each other, but they learned they navigated better without those aspects.

In ways, she reminds me of Dick and Jason combined. They both put up fronts (Dick's is sunshine and Jason's is a tough guy act) to bury their hurt and weaknesses. Steph teters between being peppy and being willing to deck you. That hides the complexity of how much she cares for people, how hurt she can be by others' actions, how intelligent she actually is, and her tendency to put others first.

She'll look out for herself, especially because no one else did, but she also cares too much about others to not help them.

Alright, as far as hc for Steph, I like the idea that she can navigate public opinion almost as well as Bruce and Tim. If she truly truly wanted to put in the effort, she could schmooze like the best of them. She combines Selina and Tim's approach to weasel whatever she wants out of her target. In fact, Tim loves watching her fool some unfortunate person as Steph turns them around.

She doesn't do this often because of the effort, money, and overall unpleasantness of the company required to do it.

Fuck Bruce Timm

What was the reason for Bruce sleeping with Barbara Gordon?

Like, what was the actual logical conclusion Timm came to when he decided that Bruce fucking Wayne, the epitome of self discipline and control, Mr. I always have a back up plan, would alienate his son (even further) and arguably the only person his age that gives a shit about his well being?

Not only does it not make sense canonically, it’s fucking degrading to Barbara Gordon herself. He diminishes her from a badass who capable of standing her ground as she navigates being a vigilante and a young adult to some one-dimensional schoolgirl from a bad anime.

What makes it even worse is he knows how to write good stories in the DC universe!! When it came to batman however, he basically wrote a self-insert fic with him as batman.

Was talking about this to a friend today, SO! Here's how I would have written WW84:

Plot follows most of the same lines, I believe in canon welding. We meet Barbara, and we actually spend a little more time with her: Diana is less immediately dismissive, they have shared interests and a shared irritation with workplace assholery.

• It's Barbara who sticks up for Diana first. Even though Barbara is often ignored, and Diana is capable of chilling people with a glare/her dignity shuts down jerks quickly, FEMALE SOLIDARITY IS AWESOME, and we need a smidge more to establish Barbara's true nature before she jumps off the slippery slope.

• We get the establishing character moments and shots. Barbara is generous and kind, and notices things and people others ignore. Diana is lonely and has outlived her old friends. Having a Barbara who SEES her is very good for her. Max is Diet Trump who has finally been caught out, and is desperate to do something for his son to be proud of, and has landed on Use Magic Rock in order to turn all his lies and cons and shortcuts into something that works.

• Things proceed. Our mains make and get their wishes

• We omit Steve inhabiting some rando's life and body. "All I see is you" is cute and all, but no. I'm ashamed to say I had to have this pointed out to me, but like...THAT'S A REAL PERSON YOU'RE DRIVING. If it had been a lady we'd definitely be talking about this. "No one would object to sex with Wonder Woman" is a loser argument full of toxic masculinity, misogyny, and general ew. Enthusiastic informed consent??? Ring a bell??? < /rant>

• We also change up the fashion show. I get that it's a callback, but it needs more "Steve being excited and sometimes weirded out by modern textile technology and Diana just laughing SO much" kind of humor, and less Diana being a difficult to please mcjudgyface. The scene as it was didn't quite get their characters. Diana being delighted by Steve's delight (and slightly harried trying to keep him out of trouble) would have been better.

• BRUNCH. You know, Steve's list of things Normal People do when there is no war???

• As we go on, we lean more into the idea that Barbara has lost her kindness to her wish: she's dismissive of people she would have noticed before, and brushes off Diana (now that we've better established that she's a Really Good Friend). Her killing that creep is still her big turning point.

• As far as Diana's loss goes, we notice she has lost some of her super strength, but we don't make her weak --she's given up her POWERS, not her Amazonian nature. So she slowly loses her super healing, her ability to track bullets with her eyes, her super speed. But that still leaves her pretty badass, and an EVEN, not inferior, match to the newly Amazonian Barbara.

• Air and Space, the INVISIBLE JET, Cairo

• the movie makes it very clear that the lasso's power is inherent to the lasso, not to Diana. It's the power of Truth itself, and her integrity (learned as a child after Antiope reads her the riot act) is what allows her to wield it better than anyone else.

• But as we learn more about the dreamstone, and the goddess who created it, Diana stops using it of her own volition.

• because she can't face the truth that she will have to renounce her wish.

• so when the White House rolls around, Diana and Barbara are fairly evenly matched. Diana is still wounded from Cairo, but she has the advantage of training. Barbara is unskilled, but fresh and motivated. It's going to be a miserable draw, until they get broken up, and Barbara and Max escape.

• Steve uses the Lasso of Truth on them both, tying himself and Diana together, and, in a callback to Antiope's speech, reminds Diana that she went to fight Ares because of her integrity, because she couldn't let the world suffer when she had responsibility to do something, (and she freed Veld because she was there: the ability to do so gave her the responsibility to do so ((as a nice contrast to Superman, whose parents maintain that it's Not His Job, but if he takes it he'd better do it well))). He's...tbh, he's pretty upset about it. His life, bought with the suffering of the whole world? All the futures he died to save? He doesn't want any part of that, he believes Diana is better than that, he can't believe that Diana has been pulling an Achilles In Her Tent for however many decades. "Just this one thing I ask??" When there's a whole world out there of people and babies, and breakfast and future? She could have anything, anything but this that was his choice to give up.

• he is so glad to have had this time. But he's already dead, and Diana needs to let him go.

• Diana renounces her wish, and the rest proceeds like normal, strengthened by using the lasso on Max being the first time she's used it since making her wish.

• We still get the street festival, with the rando (who is, this time, just a rando), and with Diana genuinely mingling, just a bit.

notable bit. I dislike the “despite” and “even with a wheelchair” but everything else is spot on.

In the Batgirl comic, Barbara has been “soft rebooted” into a younger, less experienced character who seems further from the confident, informed and capable Oracle of the Pre-52 DC Universe. Despite being a paraplegic in a wheel chair as Oracle, her current status quo seems like a number of steps backwards. Even in a wheelchair, Oracle was still depicted as a total badass that could take out anyone she needed to. This depiction is preferable to an insecure, self-doubting Batgirl.

Au where the batfam are gender bent. Only the batfam.

Bruce as Bryce Wayne. She is a openly bisexual woman. At first she was 'straight' but after a few too many guys asked her out she said, and I quote: "My girlfriend wouldn't wouldn't like it if a man was so openly flirting with me" and to prove her point, she asked a woman (Selena) to be her date to a gala and to put the cherry on top, she decided to give Selena a kiss in front of a poorly hidden camera and she felt that she liked it. A lot. Also........ Bryce found out that she was pregnant and went to the league of assassins for two years. She didn't want to kill and innocent child so she decided that she would leave the baby there and asked Ra' Al Ghul to make her child into a strong fighter and bring her the child after ten years.

Alfred is still male because he is perfect the way he is.

Dixie is Dick and she, like Dick, is a pansexual slut but not in a bitchish-whorish kind of way. She is struggling with with the fact that she is in love with her best friend wally but she can't date him because of Artemis. She tries to ignore the happy couple and date other people but it never works out. Then one day, wally shows up at her apartment, upset. He explains that Artemis broke up with him because she had stronger feelings for Zatana. She wants to feel bad but is fucking ecstatic.(She might have a chance). They go to a bar so that wally can drink his problems away. She gets drunk and ends up seducing him and things get physically intimate. He apologizes the next day and ignores her for a week. But Jasmine holds him at gun point and threatens to freeze him if he doesn't talk to Dixie. He does and then they are celebrating an anniversary together two years later.

Jasmine or Jay is Jason. She is just as badass as Jason Todd but is a hell of a lot more dangerous when she is on her period. She once stabbed a guy because he leaned in too close to her. She is dating Kory and Roy. When Roy pissed her off she hand cuffed his hands to a chair and forced him to watch her and Kory getting it on while he couldn't touch........ He might have also had a cockring on.

Timia is Tim and she is a princess. A depressed princess but still. If Stephen didn't bring her out of her shell, she would have been living on work and coffee. They broke up but Timia is now dating Conner. Bryce trusted her enough with one of her credit card numbers, so when she had enough sleep and has no work, she basically drags Conner and the batfam(-bryce) to go shopping. She spends almost a hundred thousand dollars before feeling satisfied. She finished college by 18, was the CEO of Wayne Enterprise for about two years, made about 100 or so million before throwing in the towel. (Which sucked because Bryce was literally just laying naked on the, on her private Island with her alien fiance when she was alerted that her daughter resigned).

Dami is adorable but she hates it when people call her that, especially her "annoying idiotic boyfriend that is too stupidly attractive". Jon is 12 and she is 13 {I know that's not the actual age difference but whatever}. They get into loads of trouble together. Bryce literally flew out to Metropolis as bat woman and punched Superman in the face with kryptonite brass knuckles, publicly. She she scolds and threatens him in 5 different languages because she heard Dami ask Dixie how to kiss with tongue. (Superman might have exposed their relationship by kissing her in front of the entire world[because obviously people are going to record batwoman scolding superman] just to shut her up and asked her if they could go somewhere private.)

Bobby/Robert is Barbara. He is exactly the same and he would have been jealous of Wally if Donna Troy wasn't such an amazingly beautiful, intelligent and independent woman.... And a good rider. He and Dixie is still best friends, though. Their past relationships probably made there friendship stronger.

Stephen is a bi disaster who is dating an adorable little asexual named Cass( Castiel). He and Cass are happy. And Stephen is more than happy to have the only sexual release be done by his own hand if it means be and Cass can be together.

Cass is... Cass? In other words... A quiet adorable cinnamon roll that should be protected from the world but is perfectly capable of ending the world himself.

Kate is Kain and he is dating a genderbent Kara (Kevin/Superlad[?]). He is gay and I mean gay. He experimented with Dixie once, barely even experiment actually since they kissed and then tongues almost touched but Kain pulled away because it just felt wrong.... They were like 13 at the time and since then he couldn't think straight. Fun fact though: he was 14 when he came out as gay and some random homophobic kid called him a "Fagish fairy"........... He broke the kid's jaw............. Dixie kicked him in the balls.............. They almost got expelled from school.

Duke.... His female name is..... Duchess. She is basically the big sister... Even though Dixie is older (by afew months) they all for to her if they want to talk about something that they can't tell Dixie.

....... IDK.

Jason Todd: Badass

A/N: Jason Todd back in his Robin day’s, inspired by the Titans TV Series to be quite honest.

They couldn't understand it, no one could. There was Jason Todd, Robin 2.0, renowned for his fiery temper and street thug background - which on his own was perfectly normal - but then there was you. Innocent, kind hearted and pure, beautiful you with a moral conscience to rival Supermans'.

It wasn't supposed to be a viable match but anyone could blatantly see Jason had a thing for you whereas you continued to be unreadable much to the surrounding heroes frustration. According to their knowledge, you were an extension of the Batfamily albeit not in the vigilante game but rather an associate and closest to Jason in particular. Origins remain unknown.

In retrospect they shouldn't have underestimated you from the start, possibly even delved deeper into why their resident cold hearted Robin was enamoured with a holy angelic soul such as yourself. Regardless, it was too late and as soon as you'd heard whispers of Robins capture echoing throughout Young Justice you found yourself standing before Nightwing and his selected Team within the hour demanding you go with them. Wally laughed, and Artemis immediately slapped him whilst Dick shook his head in disappointment.

"I'm going."

"I get you wanna protect Robin (Y/n), but it'd be safer for you here." West justified despite how adamant you were.

"Thanks for the concern KF but I can handle myself. When do we leave?"

"They’re right, it’s too dangerous, we’ll bring back Robin. There’s too many men to risk your life (Y/n).” Nightwing was correct, his tone more of an order even though you were not under his supervision by any means.

However, the one thing about knowing Nightwing was that he was Team Leader, essentially whatever he says goes - and this time that didn’t fall in your favour.

That's not how you found yourself staring up at Bane with Robin tied up a few paces behind you with blood dripping from his lips - no, you did that by disobeying orders and tailing the Team. It hadn't surprised you that Jason’s reckless headstrong attitude had gotten him stuck here in the first place but you couldn’t chastise him when you’d reinacted the same choices in order to save him. Meanwhile the rest of your unwilling squad were withheld by the threat of your safety - you're sure you could hear Batgirl and Kid Flash curse at your behaviour but you’d do anything to protect the people you care about.

"Bane right? How about I propose a deal, if I beat you senseless then we all go free and if you win, then you can do whatever you want." You playfully suggested, the less than intimidating stature you held and cherished smile encouraging his confidence. Even though he had the upper hand, it wouldn't be displaying the correct image to his employees if he turned down a challenge from the weakest opponent out there.

"I wouldn't Bane." It was a cough, a splutter from a smug Robin despite the unanimous glares/protests from the rest of your team.

"Bring it Pipsqueak!"

It was painful for all of them to watch, Kid Flash making visible movements towards you every time you took a hit only stopping himself when guns were aimed at your figure. You heard Artemis and Nightwing desperately call your name as you were slammed to the ground again, Banes hand tightly around your throat as you were pushed further into the floor with a groan.

"Stupid bet to make kid, but you and your friends will pay for it." He released his grip, allowing you to slowly get back onto your feet and wipe away the blood from your nose with a giggle. The villain immediately snapped to you, expressions of shock littered the room - all except the relieved smile of Jason because he knew you better than anyone ever could under the kindest smile known to man.

"I haven't lost yet~"

“Wha-“

“Did you know that you pivot your right foot 45 degrees away from your target when you go for a left uppercut?” Your head tilted as he came at you, performing the perfect counter thus silencing the room.

“And you do not have your anger under control, therefore your movements become desperate and easier to predict. Much like now.” Your tone was informative, analytic and upbeat as you sent Bane to the floor again.

It was like something flipped, reality had been warped or some other inconceivable explanation was required - your movements had changed, now quicker and stronger than ever as you anticipated Banes every offence, mapped him out like a book and within 57 seconds the huge male was knocked unconscious on the cold concrete of the warehouse with you elegantly crouched on his chest with an innocent grin. In the midst of their awe, Nightwing managed to take an advantage whilst the guards were distracted enabling his team to make a clean escape too.

You delicately walked over to Jason, slicing his restraints with the male practically falling into your arms.

"I warned him, that was badass doll." Robin lowly chuckled, forehead resting against yours which displayed how grateful he was to see you. Normally affection would never be displayed in front of anyone else unless it was playful flirting but this? This was meaningful.

"You okay dork? You're bleeding a bit." You softly replied, thumb brushing across his lower lip to remove the crimson liquid and looking back up to be met with his admiring gaze.

It was no secret that he liked you, it was in the way he spoke or rather flirted - a characteristic of Robins as you'd discovered but it was genuine, you knew because he opened up to you - whether he had meant to or not. There were the sweet gestures where he forgot himself and the momentary lapses, where he remembered that he was Robin and dating you would be dangerous.

Yet in this instance he couldn't care, because danger was exhilarating and you would make everything worth it so he closed the distance a little further as if silently asking if you felt the same. You noticed, being attune to the way he thought made the whole ordeal easier and you couldn't help the sincere smile gracing your features at the action, taking it as a sign of approval his lips met yours in a slow chaste kiss.

It was over as soon as it got started, Robin not even thanking you as you glared up at the boy wonder before rolling your eyes and brushing past Kid Flash who could barely make sense with his frantic gestures. Artemis' gaze followed you out, opting to comment on what they were all thinking as Jason stood beside Nightwing.

"No wonder you like (Y/n) so much."

"Tch, yeah right. That badass nerd - hell no." Robin laughed, smirking proudly at his brother.

"You literally just kissed-" Dick began, already confused by Little Wings’ contradicting displays.

"Bro, you kiss girls all the time. Doesn't mean anything."

"You what?!" Barbara practically radiated rage at Jasons’ haphazard statement, Nightwing instantly paling at the revelation.

"Ah no, Batgirl not like that I - Robin!!"

"See ya, thanks for the assisted save because let's be honest (Y/n) woulda just come alone anyways!" Before his brother could finish, Jason had offered a salute and disappeared into the night leaving the ‘adults’ to resolve their issues.

Later that night, you found yourself in one of Gotham's many local bars leaning against the counter simply minding your own business when a bottle was slid in your direction. You directed your irises toward the origin, finding none other than Jason wearing his favourite hoodie under a casual jacket with a beer bottle in his hand.

"How was your night?"

"I saved a guy tonight, didn't get much thanks mind you." There was a tinge of venom in your voice but it was more exasperated than anything.

"Oh? A kiss and a beer not good enough, what sort of thanks were you expecting?" Jason was sarcastic on the other hand, leaning on the bar beside you.

"I don't know Jaybird, now Arty, Wally and Babs know what I'm capable of. I'm an asset to them."

"You're not, Dick wouldn't let that happen and you don't have to join the Team. But hey seeing you kick butt up close and personal was an experience." He was serious now, your companionship was important to him and he’d never let them use your abilities when you didn’t want part of his lifestyle. He’d promised that many moons ago.

"Oi! What the heck are you two doing in here, you aren't 21!" You both flicked to the outraged voice of Dick Grayson, the male standing at the doorway with Barbara in tow. It was a shock to Dick and Barbara when they caught you both at the bar, underage - how'd you even get in?Instantly Jason grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers with his own as you both laughed whilst dancing through the crowd toward the fire exit.

"Don't even think about it or I'm using this as blackmail!" Babs echoed, not so fluently managing to evade bodies due to her taller stature.

You ran, and you laughed, staggering onto his favourite rooftop of all Gotham - the one adorned with Gargoyles, his favourite perched proudly at the centre. You’d managed to lose the other two more experienced Bats much to your amusement. The wind graced your skin and your gaze shifted to the night sky admiring the rare clarity of the stars, however Jason came to a halt beside you, finding your fascination to be much more beautiful.

"It's funny, we're just a streetrat who needs adult supervision and a misguided teenager who can barely function in society. How did we make it this far?" You mindlessly stated, eyes embarrassingly directed toward the ground as you smiled.

Jason moved closer to you, lifting you chin with his finger to meet his irises before he spoke.

"Isn't it obvious? Because it's us, we're here together despite whatever our connection is." He was so gentle despite his contrasting occupation, closing the distance between your bodies as he went.

"I shouldn't have kissed you tonight." Your tone was lower, halting his actions and you missed the brief glimpse of heartbreak cross his features. However his tone was more confident yet soft as he replied working to hide his disappointment.

"I'm pleased you did."

"Ah classic Robin behaviour." You rolled your eyes, but he sensed the playfulness behind your comment.

"If you haven't noticed... I've got a little thing for you, it's been us as a team for a while that somewhere along the line I thought about 'us' as more. Sure you're no vigilante, but you're my friend and that means more than anything." It was enough, you could allow yourself moments like these to be forgotten with the wind. And you let him in once more, like you had done on multiple occasions before, you let him kiss you, with as much admiration he could display in such an intimate act.

You pulled away, breathless, enjoying the time you had knowing that every night he left could be your last - but for now, you had him.

"I'm glad it's you Jason."

"Me too (Y/n). Me too, until death rips us apart."

Little did you know how soon that would be.
