Hahaha I love the ship name. I actually prefer James and Peter. Like not endgame. But knowing Peter always loved James, then James try and give him a chance bc he is that kind of person and friend and then it doesn’t work out. Maybe in some universe it does. But in the majority it doesn’t and in some it even causes Peter to betray him for picking Lily or Regulus over him.

But now I need to read the Regulus x Peter fic. Sounds like and interesting dynamic. Very intriguing. Please tell me more about startail

Weird no one seems to ship Peter and Regulus. Would make more sense than James and Regulus. Would actually add some more depth and story to why Peter betrayed James and Lily. And why Peter set Sirius up to take the fall.

Peter being in love with Regulus to the point where he considers joining the death eaters makes much more sense than James who loved Lily a muggle-born and loved Sirius as a brother to point where his family adopted him and saved him from a death eater family.

Peter blaming Sirius for not getting Regulus out of the same abusive house and not being there to save Regulus from his death is great motivation for framing Sirius for the betrayal.

hey! i was interested in your regupete posts or whatever you called it. could you maybe give some more explanation? i havent heard of it before but it seems interesting.

omg ofc i'm always happy to talk about themmm- thanks for the ask! i am going to infodump though, so get ready for a long post lol

so basically regupete, known by many other names (my favorite being black plague), is the ship between regulus black and peter pettigrew. it seems kind of random and i did actually start shipping it as a crack ship but i just think they're so fun together.

i say they're canon because they were both death eaters of the same age at the same time with ties to the same people. obviously, peter was best friends with remus, james, and sirius, and regulus was sirius' brother. i just think it's so silly of them to be little plotting backstabbers together, yk? like they at least made out once in canon, that's just a fact. peter is just irresistible, even to the great regulus black!!!

can you imagine both of them being death eaters running around and torturing and killing people for funsies and being absolute menaces???

i also just think peter is a super shippable character which probably has something to do with the fact that he's rarely shipped with anybody and often pushed off as a character altogether. why not regulus with peter, honestly? they're both sarcastic and not quite enough for what people expected of them and silly little guys that i would like to keep in my pocket forever.

i especially started thinking about it when i looked back at one of my own pieces and realized how in awe of peter regulus was when he first met him and how much peter was showing off and i was like oh there's potential there.

so for my personal headcanons, regulus met peter and was like omigodhe'ssocool and peter is like really good with spells and really kind but also hella sarcastic and witty which reggie loves. not to mention he's gorgeous. regulus is peter's best friend's little nerd brother who's really secretly quite fit and effortlessly amazing at quidditch. i mean come on, everybody knows everybody had a crush on both of them why not each other, huh?? explain that!

don't get me wrong i still fucking adore jegulus, but i also really like regupete and given their canon potential i think they need more attention! in the case of jegulus, i personally think it's hilarious that regulus and peter hooked up once or twice and james was soooo upset and they never let him forget about it. it just. comes up in conversation all the time, and every time james doesn't let go of regulus for like 5 business days (that's part of the reason they do it).

that's my little two cents on regupete/lionrat/plack/black plague!! atp i might have to add a canon-compliant or canon-adjacent regupete story to my list of things i want to write *sigh.* i'm already coming up with ideas, goddammit

peter x regulus actually makes SO much sense to me as a marauders x regulus pairing. like, it’s already heartbreaking that he betrays his closest friends, but what if it isn’t because of fanon ideas such as the marauders not appreciating peter, or peter being jealous, but because of love? peter, the more quiet, shy Gryffindor, slowly getting to know one of his best friends’ brother and not understanding how sirius was able to cut off regulus. peter knowing deep down that when it came to it, james would choose lily, sirus and remus would choose each other. the other marauders can empathize with sacrificing everything for love, they just couldn’t imagine there was someone peter loved more than he loved them.

My new headcannon is that James talks in his sleep and that’s how everyone finds out he’s dating Regulus.

It starts with Remus and his wolf hearing when James is napping and Remus is in the bathroom.

Lily, Mary and Marlene find out together when James falls asleep while playing cards with them in the common room. He wakes up to Mary laughing and Marlene passing Lily a couple galleons - they don’t tell him why.

Then it’s Pete, who got up in the middle of the night for a glass of water and comes back to James curled around a pillow mumbling something that sounds a lot like Reggie please. He casts a silencing spell and draw his curtains.

Sirius is the last because he sleeps like the dead and James is always up before him. But Sirius has a nightmare the night after a full so he has to crawl into bed with James. After hearing James say “Reg baby right like that” in his ear, he realizes there are worse things than nightmares about Walburga.
