VIVI GLOW UP GUIDE: MASTERING THE BASICS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You want to see the biggest improvement in your life? Master. The. Basics.
If you don’t know where to exactly start on your glow up journey, this is part one. Get your sleep, nutrition and movement to peak performance. Don’t know where to start? I got you, as always 💕
Sleep ୨୧˚·
1. Try to get on a consistent sleep schedule, use a REM calculator to find the best time for you to go to bed based on the time you wake up. Using a REM calculator will help you wake up feeling refreshed instead of groggy, which is usually caused by waking up mid REM cycle.
2. Limit screen time and drink water a little bit before bed so you aren’t waking up to use the bathroom.
3. Silk are Satin Pillowcases which you can get at dollar tree even, this will protect your skin and hair.
4. Cut all caffeine 6 hours before bed.
5. Have a relaxing routine and chill your room, finding your favorite temperature. The human body needs to drop usually two degrees before falling asleep comfortably.
Nutrition ୨୧ ˚·
1. If possible get in contact with a nutritionist or dietician - I am a personal trainer and a nutritionist and I love to help for free if you can’t get one - if you need any help ask my page, comment or dm me!
2. Unlearn any misinformation, from Fad diets or paid off Nutritionists / Dietitians. Never listen to doctors on nutrition they have very little training, and be careful of even some specialists as we are seeing a rise in them taking payment from industries such as Coca Cola!
3. Eat the rainbow. You should be having a variety of foods, from legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies. Try switching up the fruit you get every week to start out!
4. Get your protein in. I really like plant based proteins, such as Tofu, Tempeh, Quinoa, Peas, and Hemp Seeds. You can calculate how much protein you need with a calculator online which can help you shoot for a good amount.
5. Whole Foods should be the staple of your diet. Try to eat a very balanced diet with complex carbs, protein, and lots of veggies and fruit. This will help with micronutrients which are so underrated !
Movement ୨୧˚·
1. Find a form of workout you like. If you hate what you do you won’t do it so explore the many options, it could be dance, calisthenics, weight lifting, running , hiking, and so much more!
2. Get in contact with a personal trainer if you can, once again I am a certified personal trainer and I help for free if you need it!
3. Start out small with short amount of time. If you go right into doing 1 hour workouts you will get burned out.
4. Do different muscle groups everyday. Example of this would be arms monday, and legs tuesday. This helps for you not to get as sore and can be more consistent.
5. Be consistent. There are going to be days that you are tired, do it tired. There are going to be days that you are a little sore, which is normal in the beginning, so it sore. If you need rest genuinely take it, but that should be two days top. It’s hard, but it’s also hard to live an unhealthy lifestyle. Choose the type of hard you want.

VIVI HAIR RULES ୨୧
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you want long, shiny, soft and healthy hair here are my rules that I stand by
૮꒰ྀི ୨ ៸៸៸ ୧ ྀི꒱ა ༊࿐ ͎. 。˚ ° ⊹ ˚.
1. Don’t try and “train your hair” - if it’s oily, wash it. Healthy scalp comes before anything, even if that’s washing everyday. (Which isn’t damaging despite what people say btw) If you can go longer then that then do it.
2. Do a pre-shampoo treatment, I use coconut oil. If you feel it messes up your hair, most likely you aren’t washing it all off, so instead try a coconut based oil instead of whole coconut oil. Keep this on your ends for at least 30 minutes before showering.
3. Do not go to bed with wet hair.
4. Do a head massage everyday for at least 5 minutes, don’t use your nails but instead use the pads of your fingers.
5. SPLIT YOUR ENDS AT HOME. This is so important, check for split ends regularly. If you see any, cut them right away.
6.Don’t be tricked by marketing! I actually prefer drugstore haircare to high end.
7. Use bonding treatments, l’oréal has a new bond repair line that is good!
8. Microfiber towels, soft hair ties, and silk pillowcases.
9. Protective Hairstyles before bed.
10. Always oil your ends. I like jojoba oil and you only need a tiny bit. It will add a nice shine and protect your hair.
11. Embrace your natural hair color and texture, avoid bleaching, dying, and relaxing if you can
I could ramble on for hours about hair, but these are definitely some of my basic rules ! I hope this helps you on your long hair journey 💕🧁

DRUGSTORE HAIRCARE IS JUST AS GOOD AS PROFESSIONAL YOU JUST NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO BUY
- Do not listen to hairdressers, they know how to make your hair look good. Instead listen to dermatologists + trichologists who actually study the scalp and hair!

VIVI GLOW UP GUIDE: SLUMPS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“That’s okay, you are you, I am me. I enjoy taking care of myself.”
STEP ONE : FIND THE SOURCE
Finding out the source of your slump is always the first thing you should be doing, is it because you have low energy? are you beating yourself up every-time you aren’t doing something perfect? is your environment dirty.
STEP TWO : THE BASICS
Once you have the source, you find the solution. Literally write down, “I am in a slump because of insert reason, but this is the solution right here,” and start with it. Most time it’s basic, you haven’t been eating right, hygiene isn’t good and perhaps your sleep is off. Try to get a quick healthy meal (smoothies are life savers) and tidy up your space before you do anything.
STEP THREE : TWO MINUTE TIMER
If you don’t have the pure will to do step two on it’s own, set a timer for two minutes and pick something productive to do. Usually by the time it’s up you are already focused and feel no need to stop.
STEP FOUR : NEGATIVE SELF TALK
No more negative self talk, it does nothing but bring you to the slump and hard to get out ? Oh you are in a slump, so what, you simply get out of slumps. Don’t drag yourself down even more.
STEP FIVE : RECOGNIZE TRIGGERS
Once you are out of your slump, and check weekly on yourself. For me, I know I am getting to a slump once i have no desire to brush my teeth, but some people it’s their laundry piling up. Everyone is different, start to note them so you can check a slump before it gets too bad.
STEP SIX : DONT MAKE EXCUSES
This can be controversial but coming from someone clinical depressed, and chronically ill there is something said about working out, eating healthy and sleep. Until you master those, you are not going to be feeling mentally peak so start with one and really get confident in it. Don’t let depression or anxiety hold you back, a healthy life style can make it go away. It’s hard work, but it is worth it!
STEP 777 : MAKE ROUTINES
Have a cleaning routine, hygiene routine, morning and night routine. It doesn’t need to be ridged but something there to help you keep up with things that can lead to a slump.
I hope this helps you dolls out !! ໒꒰ྀིっ˕ -。꒱ྀི১

VIVI GLOW UP GUIDE: HAIR
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Invest in your hair, it's the crown you never take off.”
STEP ONE : THE NECESSITIES
- Wet Brush
- Gentle Hair Ties / Claw Clips / Scrunches
- Wide Tooth Comb
- Regular Shampoo
- Clarifying Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Leave in Conditioner
- Hair Mask
- Hair Oil
- Microfiber Towel or Cotton T-Shirt
- Silk Bonnet or Silk Pillow Cases
STEP TWO : HAIR ASSESSMENT
- What type of hair do you have? Oily, dry, or normal
- What is your hair texture ? ( 1a through 4c )
- What state is your hair currently in? Is it breaking, stretching or frizzy?
- Do you have split ends?
- Do you have colored hair?
- Do you use heating tools, take hot showers ?
Use these answers to these for helping picking products, use labels that target your complaints
STEP THREE : CUT THOSE ENDS
You want pretty hair? Cut. Those. Split. Ends. As much as people want to think you can 100% repair split ends with bonding products, you can’t. Split ends will find a way to creep up, and soon your split ends can become split miss and now your hair will not grow. Do this one time in the start of your hair care journey, and then from there on out you can learn how to cut your own split ends with the “no length lost method”.
STEP FOUR : WASH DAY
Find you wash days, it is okay to wash everyday or less with more days in between, as long as your scalp stays clean.
Your wash day should look like this, a coconut based pre-oil treatment to the ends of your hair for 30 minutes prior to getting into the shower. Weekly, take the oil up to the roots and massage in before doing the next steps. When you get in the shower star with a double shampoo cleanse if you skip days in between washes. If you wash your hair everyday only wash it one time (unless you did full hair oil) Lather the shampoo in your hands and start at the nape of your neck working your way up, only focuses on the scalp. Wash thoroughly then add conditioner after squeezing out all access water. Apply onlyto the ends and let it sit, pinning it up with a claw clip to keep the conditioner of your skin to avoid body acne. Rinse out.
Once you get out the shower, gently squeeze hair with microfiber towel and apply your leave in conditioner or oil. Let dry, the best way is mainly air dry with some help from a hair dryer on a cool setting at least 11 inches away from your head. Only after your hair is dry should you brush it.
Before Bed put your hair into a protective lose hair style or silk bonnet.
Once a week, swap your conditioner and pre-oil for a hair mask. I recommend getting your hair wet outside the shower, squeeze the water out, apply the hair mask and then let it sit for 20 minutes prior to getting into the shower.
STEP FIVE : IN BETWEEN WASH CARE
- only brush your hair what you need, don’t do the 100 strokes.
- always use detangler (you can use conditioner in a spray bottle mixed with water)
- Damp the ends of your hair and adds tiny bit of oil, before putting in a protect style.
STEP SIX : STAY INFORMED
- Ingredients are listed from highest concentration to lower, if all the helpful ingredients are the last on this list it’s not the best.
- Don’t fall for gimmicks not approved by dermatologists, such as hair training, keep your scalp clean.
- Don’t think you need only expensive products, despite what hair stylists say, there is very good drug store products that could easily be high end.
- Sulfates, Parabens and silicones are good for most hair, i love them.
STEP 777 : AFFIRMATIONS AND SUBLIMINALS
- Make a subliminal playlist
- Create a vision board for your hair, and maybe a wishlist of some dream products.
- Always use affirmations !!
If I hope you all find this helpful dolls, let me know if you want any requests or more information ⋅˚₊‧ ୨୧ ‧₊˚ ⋅ - Vivienne
