People discussing fictional characters whose initials are “JC” without ever spelling who they’re talking about throw me for a loop every time because that initialism meant something very particular when I was growing up, so I’ll see folks saying the wildest shit about “JC” on my dash and the first thing that pops into my head is “Jesus did what?”

Hey, Do you have any sources that state that there's barely any evidence of christ's existence? all I could find anywhere is "Most historical Scholars agree he was a real person" and that "Jewish people arrested him and killed him" even Wikipedia is saying this. I really am trying to find sources on this shit but I cant with Xtianity blocking my path.
Absolutely. Though it is not the mainstream academic consensus, which supports a conclusion that the Jesus figure is based on a real person and has something to do with the advent of what is now called Christianity (albeit a real person who we know very little about), there is another academic school that supports the Christ Myth Theory (CMT). That is, their scholarly conclusions are that there was no such person or, if there was, he is unrelated to the creation of Christianity.
Dr. Richard Carrier is a strong proponent of the CMT on the history side of things, and Dr. Robert Price’s writings support the CMT on the religious studies side (he’s a former pastor). Both of them have works that are helpful if you want to learn more about the CMT. Joseph Atwill is possibly the best known proponent of the CMT, but is somewhat fringe even amongst that minority of scholars, so I wouldn’t rely on his work overly much from an academic perspective, even though I find it personally interesting.
An easy starting point is to Google/wiki “Christ myth theory,” though of course I recommend following that down the rabbit hole and reading sources for yourself.
ETA: also, the majority view is that the Historical Jesus, if he existed, was executed by Rome. There’s no real disagreement there. I was in the CMT weeds before, but CMT or not the scholarly view isn’t that Jewish authorities killed Jesus.

I have a few more thoughts about this.
I think the binary dichotomy thinking of Christians bad, Pagans good is harmful because it pretty much mirrors the men bad, women good misconception.
Not only is it wrong, historically incorrect, and disrespectful, but also it gives free passes and excuses accountability. When are we going to start hearing "Pagans will be Pagans".
Also, I've mentioned this before: many BIPOC have relationships with Christianity as well as with Paganism that are very different from white people's experiences. So when making such black and white generalizations, racism almost always bleeds into them.

Hey! I'm writing a fic and there's a scene where someone's in the house of two Catholics. I'm just wondering, other than the obligatory crosses and stuff related to the Virgin Mary, what kind of things might be lying around that a Catholic might keep? Anything related to the saints, maybe?
Rosaries! We always have tons of rosaries. I have at least 4 in my apartment.
Scapulars are always on the body. Sometimes green scapulars are hidden by a friend somewhere in the home.
You might find St. Anthony’s medallion on a Catholic’s keys. Or a St. Joseph statue in the freezer for someone wanting to sell their house (especially if it’s a condo without a lawn).
Otherwise, they’re just normal Christian homes.

Happy Day of Thankfulness! here’s some mock tattoo/sticker ideas i’ve had sitting around (cause i wanted to do more) and a sketchpage ^-^
1) John 4:13-14 “Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those that drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.’ “ (inspired by the Chosen opening)
2) Ezekiel 36:26-27 “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.”
3) Revelation 19:11-13 “Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. It’s rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God.”
4) Romans 8:20-21 “Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.” (i was thinking about how even though space seems so vast and infinite, the Spiritual realm of God is infinitely more real and tangible. it will make our world look like a little story book illustration.)

Always respond to every impulse to pray. The impulse to pray may come when you are reading or when you are battling with a text. I would make an absolute law of this: always obey such an impulse.

I don’t know about anyone else, but that whole ‘the Word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword’ thing has been feeling by so very true this year. Like I’m drawing closer to God and then suddenly I’m being stabbed — Oh! I guess that piece there is kinda like a malignant tumor that I should be rid of OW. Ok moving forwar- *stab* You’re quite right.
I keep getting impaled and saying ‘thank You’ while I’m cut to ribbons but it truly is the loveliest experience.

Advent
Last log-sparks impinge on the grate. Great Bear’s breath rattles the window. Stew steams with a dozen spices. Hoarfrost-thoughts droop head to chest. Furred things, feathered things, six-legs slumber. Root touches root in the dark earth. Fallen world tucks in its shroud of prophecies in weft and warp: out of eons flush with dying
a blissful and a dreadful Coming
