Even more fluffy relationship headcanons for Astarion and Tav
Listen guys, I'm not done yet. For now, as soon as I get one idea out, three more pop up in my mind and since you guys seem to really like these (it's seriously and positively insane to me), I'll happily provide you more as long as I am able to. So, let's-a go: more headcanons and little ideas about them being together!
Tumblr media
(I formerly used an reuploaded and stolen version of this gif here - I didn't check where it came from and that wasn't right - I'm sorry!)
You love when Astarion smiles at you - just openly and full of joy; the sort of smile you've rarely seen from him during your adventures but they keep getting more and more, also they make him look just so young and carefree and beautiful and your heart just... melts
When Astarion quickly notices how you basically faint whenever he does this, he starts employing it to work his charms on you when he needs it - not the real big and joyous smiles though because they are so real and cherished to him he wouldn't dare use it to tease or manipulate you - they're only reserved to make you happy
Charming you is like breathing to Astarion though, you are just so helpless against his flattery and flirting because why would you resist if you could just give him everything that makes him happy?
When you mention once though that you'd hope to gain some immunity to it some time, Astarion is insulted: "No, love, making you blush is my favourite thing in the world. You are so beautiful with your cheeks all flushed. As long as I have a say in it, we will never stop!"
Tav likes teasing him just as much as Astarion enjoys it the other the way around: "You know if you would stop drawing your brows together all the time, it'd take fifty years off your face immediately." Moments of silence in which Astarion is just utterly shocked by your burn, then: "Who taught you to be this brutal, darling?" You raise an eyebrow at him, he helplessly lifts his arms: "Yeah right, I have only myself to blame."
Also, Astarion and Tav are definitely the kind of power couple that throw each other meaningful sassy looks when they're with other people and those are talking shit or something
Also, afterwards they will most definitely discuss and gossip over everything they experienced
Astarion is definitely the kind of man that would shower Tav with gifts, from coming home with a single beautiful flower that "reminded me of you, my beautiful blossom" ("How cheesy..." "Ah, so rather a gouda next time?") or a nice bottle of wine to share to bigger gestures like jewelry or expensive dresses ("When am I ever gonna wear this, Astarion?" "I don't know, we'll just make an opportunity!")
Tav loves all of his gifts but probably the small ones or the hand-crafted ones the most, she's happy with the little things but Astarion insists she deserves the big ones just as much
One time though, Astarion comes home with something else entirely; it's pouring outside and he's completely drenched and hiding something in his doublet jacket; "What do you have there, Astarion, a wheel of cheese?" Astarion carefully opens up his jacket to reveal a small white kitten that is just as drenched as him and is desperately trying to cling to the vampire's chest. "I found her all alone in a dark alleyway, cold and completely soaked, I thought maybe we could take care of her and she could be friends with Scratch?", he says while he carefully lifts up the small ball of fluff with an incredible softness in his eyes. Your heart is thoroughly melting as you walk over to them and you give Astarion the most loving of kisses
Well, the last one would almost be a drabble on it's own, I saw a similar post that made me think of this (I will find and tag them later!) Hope you enjoyed and I'm late for work now, whoops...
This is the post I mentioned before, by @mushy6902 (I hope it's okay I wrote a somewhat similar idea, thanks for inspiring me!)

I'm coming at you with the speed of thousand asteroids affectionately and hit you with a "your writing is awesome!"
Also, may I request an Aventurine x The Nameless!reader.
Thank you very much and have a nice day :D
Thank you so much for your kind words and for the request, it was so fun to write <З
Hope you'll enjoy it, have a good day as well 💛
Aventurine x The Nameless!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
characters - Aventurine
notes - gn!reader, fluff, a bit of hurt/comfort. Once again, no beta. I'm so sorry.
Aventurine
Considering that the Astral Family and it's members are pretty well-known (everyone seems to know at least their names) he has probably heard something about you even before you first met him.
I can imagine your first meeting going like this: he casually approaches you, acting all buddy-buddy, and says something like "ah, mx , who knew I would meet you here of all places <З".
If your first meeting was during the Penacony quest get ready for him calling you "friend" in this sassy voice of his 💀 Yes Aven we all get it you don't have any actual friends calm down
Can imagine him trying to get closer to you by painting your potential partnership as something mutually beneficial. You could use a friend from the IPC, right? And he wouldn't mind having some connections with a "brave and honorable" Nameless. So why don't you join him for a glass of wine, hmmm?
When the two of you will eventually get closer this mf will get clingy af. Yeah I've mentioned it already in my previous post but you being one of the Nameless opens up so many new perspectives.
Visits you on the Express regularly. If he comes when you're not here, he'll wait for as long as he can for you to come back. Sadly, Aventurine is a busy, busy man. So he can't wait for long. Will leave small notes for you tho, to let you know that he was there but you didn't grace him with your presence
If you come back when he's waiting, Aven will play it off as if he himself just got there and didn't have to wait for you at all, saying somethin like "Oh look, here you're! And here I thought I would have to wait for you, haha. Seems like luck is on my side today~"
He doesn't want you to worry, after all. Also. He wants to save some face. Pom-Pom will rat him out anyway.
Speaking of Pom-Pom, they're probably sick of him at this point lol.
Would ask you about your adventures and listen very closely to every story you may want to tell. He can't help but smile softly while listening to you, he just loves seeing the passion in your eyes. Doesn't matter if the story is about you dragging the Trailblazer away from the trash cans in Belobog (or worse - admiring the trash cans with them), he will still look at you with the same adoring smile.
If you ask him what he's been up to during the time you where gone, Aven would simply laugh it off and say that his boring IPC stuff cannot compare with your bizarre adventures so it doesn't even worth mentioning. Reassure him that you don't care if it's boring, you just want to hear about his day regardless of how it went.
Sometimes he can't help but feel jealous. You're free to travel, to do whatever you want. You have this sparkle of excitement in your eyes every time you tell him about your travels. And he has nothing of it. Simply can't have.
He doesn't have any negative feelings towards you, of course. Mostly some bottled up bitterness toward his fate and himself.
He gets a bit lost in his own head every time he starts feeling this way. Please take his hand and invite him to join you during your next adventure. He will laugh softly and tell you "maybe next time, darling". Even if he doesn't know when this "next time" will come the thought of it, of you wanting to share your precious moment with him, fills him with hope.
Adores when you bring him small gifts from the places you've been. It doesn't have to be something big, really. Just the thought that you were thinking of him when the two of you were apart is enough.
Don't forget to send him pictures of yourself!!!! He wants to know how his dearest darling is doing even when they are freezing their ass off in Belobog.
Would sometimes surprise you by showing up on the planet/space ship you're currently staying on. Aventurine rarely can't stay for a long but he cherishes those short moments when he can just walk around and do nothing in particular with you.
Usually when he visits a planet it has something to do with the IPC's business so he only has time to do his job and. Well. Gamble. Maybe buy some new clothes too if he has enough time.
But with you he can actually explore the planet. You bring him to the local restaurants, small tea shops, seemingly small and insignificant places. But it’s places like these that reveal the real beauty of the planet. He slowly learns to appreciate it when you're by his side.

Oh i am already so beyond whipped for baby darling bc wtf why is it so sweet and cute and healing?? Makes my heart burst. I’m terrible at drabble prompts and ideas but I will happily and thankfully devour any crumbs you choose to offer.
One day there will be crumbs. Ah fuck it whatever let's have a crumb right now.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
"Aren't you cold like that?" He asks you, mentioning the lack of your clothing. You're just wearing some socks, underwear and an oversized shirt- and like he said, your apartment is cold.
"I mean, I was just in bed." You shrug, stretching your limbs before you pull them back closer. "Wasn't expecting anyone. I can turn on the-"
"You don't have to, really." Jungkook chuckles. "Was just wondering. Do you want to go back to sleep?" He asks, and you misunderstand a little, nodding.
"My bed is a bit small, but we can make it work." You say, getting up to walk towards what he assumes might be your bedroom- and he can't help but feel a bit.. nervous?
This is pretty much the tamest thing ever. He's pretty adventurous when it comes to sex and such- sp why is he now nervous about a nap of all things?
Your bedroom is cozy, as you kick out your stuffed animals to make room for him, and he has to laugh. "You do know if we have sex they'll have to leave, right?" He tells you, taking off his jacket to put it over a giant bear in the corner of the room- shielding it's face.
"Why? I can just put them on a shelf maybe, so they're out of the way..." you answer, not at all fazed by his mention of intimacy- and it makes him happy, relieving some of the tension. You seem comfortable with him, and that's a huge compliment towards him.
"No, they'll look at us the whole time then!" He whines, moving to turn the multiple push animals so they face the wall instead. "That's creepy." He mumbles, while you laugh, sitting on your bed. "What? Voyeurism isn't something I'm into, don't kink-shame!" He argues playfully, making you laugh even harder.
"I'm not!" You finally get out. "It's just funny."
"What's funny, huh?" He challenges, getting on the bed as well after shedding his jeans and socks somewhere I'm the room.
"Full sleeve of tattoos." You shrug, fingers tracing the colored lines as you lay next to each other. "Piercings. All buff and bold." You describe him. "And yet can't get it up when a hello kitty is watching." You tease, as his eyes sharpen, hand on your hip moving to squeeze your butt for a second.
"Never said I couldn't get it up." He tells you.
"Just don't want anyone to see you but me."

How would all three yans react to having children? Good or bad?
This is actually such a fun prompt and ask! Thank you for sending it in. I'd actually love to write a full post sometime instead of a small little drabble about this! It'd be so much fun imaging one of their daily routines and lives with a family.
Atticus:
-Isn't really that interested in kids unless his darling wants them. At first, he'll try to talk his darling out of it. Gives lists of reasons on why he can't be a dad. Eventually, comes around to it if his darling really wants them.
-He's a strict and stoic father. Makes sure the kids go to bed at a certain time, finish their chores and do their homework. The kids have to be punctual.
-Not a fan of extreme harsh punishments at all. No taking away meals, locking in closets or any of the sorts. Especially, hitting if they don't listen. (His parents used to do it to him which has resulted in a traumatized farmer)
-More type of look at the consequences of your actions. You don't do your homework, then you fail your class. You don't collect eggs from the chicken coop, no eggs for breakfast. You don't feed the dogs, look at them go hungry. (The doggies don't actually go hungry since Atticus secretly feeds them, they're just always begging for food)
-Shows he loves them through his actions instead of words. He'll take them special getaway trips, go bird watching, catch bugs, make presents, etc. He wants his kids to know that he loves them despite his strict behavior. He's trying to break the cycle of generational abuse that came from his parents. It's hard ngl but he makes an effort every day to overcome it.
For readers who imagine pregnancy:
-kisses your belly when you're asleep. Reassures the baby that he'll always take care of them. He would never do it when you're awake since he's nervous you'll deem him as less than manly or "strong".
-Does not let you work on the farm at all!! He hires extra farmhands to replace your usual help. Lectures and scolds you when you try to do anything. Don't you know that an accident could happen any time especially somewhere dangerous like this farm??
-Your safety and the baby's safety are top priority at all times.
-Watches films and tv shows about pregnancy and families. He makes sure to remember all the details so he can be the best father just like on the tv!
-No sexy time at all when pregnant! He's afraid it'll injure the baby. Only complies when his darling coaxes him into it but even then, it took a while.
Orion:
-Hella yea. The only one who's willing to jump on board and be excited for them. Takes the kids out on daily foraging and exploration nearby the home. Teaches them how to jot down information.
-Shows them his notes on all different types of plants, creatures and landscapes. Tells them which things to avoid and how to survive if in contact with dangerous creatures.
-Kids grow an immunity to his terrible cooking. Actually, enjoy it and treat is as an odd delicacy to be savored.
-The children are taught both languages. Darling's for communicating with other members of the species but his in case they need to talk, and others are listening in.
-Reminds the kids how much he adores them and their mother every day. Tells them tales about his home world and adventures with their mother.
-However, his favorite story to tell is about how their mother heroically saved him from death and starvation. Sometimes he embellishes details like
"Oh, your mother also fell in love at first sight with me. They were just too shy to admit it, but I could tell."
-The real question though, are human species able to get darling's species pregnant???
For readers who imagine pregnancy:
-Does darling get pregnant like a human? Orion will have to find out. However, I imagine the way of getting pregnant to be similar, but they don't give birth. Instead, an egg like thing forms within their reproductive system and they push out something similar to an egg.
-The egg would hatch within two months after growing to full term.
-Orion has built a nest for the egg and watches it every night. Proudly tells the egg about all the adventures they'll go on as family.
-Darling insists that Orion doesn't need to baby the egg since the shell is quite strong. Still, he doesn't listen and frets over any small movement from it. Makes little hats and scarves and dresses the egg in it.
-Orion makes sure to take so many notes during this period. What color is the egg? How long before it hatches? How many times does it move in an hour?
-He takes notes in case darling and him decide to have another egg baby. He'll be more prepared second round.
-Enjoys setting the mood up for some sexy time. He feeds you the right food, sets up the small hut just right and everything. Ofc he'll makes sure to cover the baby egg with a blanket. He doesn't want your baby egg to see anything inapposite after all.
Ivar:
-He'd want to wait a few years into marriage. The idea of kids is daunting. He's seen the worse of man and how destructive the world can be. Really nervous about letting kids out into that type of environment. Still, he does desire a family that you'll raise together.
-He's a fun goofy dad. Takes all the stress of the kids when he arrives home. Plays with them, teases them and drains all their energy so you can relax. I'd imagine that Ivar insists that you be a stay-at-home mom while he goes to work.
-Listens to his kid's problems from boyfriend issues to " I can't believe they cancelled my show". Actively enjoys listening to his kids talk about anything and everything.
-Signs his kids up for self-defense classes. He's aware that there's so many dangers in the world and he can't always be there to help. They've got to be prepared for anything that could happen.
-Supports his kids in all their activities. Shows up to every single game, recital, spelling bee, etc. Whatever it maybe, he'll be there. Wants them to know he cares about them and their interests.
-Doesn't really enjoy mentioning stories from his time at war to them. He's afraid it'll corrupt their world view and he want them to live a peaceful life :(
For readers who imagine pregancy:
-Ivar reads up on all those mom-blogs and pregnancy books. Puts headphones on your belly so your baby can listen to Mozart. Does it actually do anything? Idk the mom blog says it stimulates baby growth or something like that.
-You have a strong craving at 1 in the morning? He's on the case to get it for you. If he can't find it any stores, then he'll drive over to the next few towns to get it. He's so determined to find it.
-loves decorating the baby's nursery. He'll put up decorations and different decals for the baby. Also enjoys building things for it such as dresser and the crib.
-Also doesn't let you by yourself. You want to talk a walk around the neighborhood by yourself? Nope. He's right there holding your hand or pushing you in a wheelchair.
-loves to initiate sexy time with you. During his mom blog reading, he read that it was a great past time while pregnant. Plus, he loves you no matter what you look like even if you're insecure about your changing body.

͙۪۪̥˚┊❛ [dating headcanons] ❜┊˚ ͙۪۪̥◌ .ೃ࿐ shadow the hedgehog ⋆.ೃ࿔*:・safe for work; romantic
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ one thing that should be clear is that this hedgehog is traumatized - i mean, someone he was close to died, and then he almost died at the end of Sonic Adventures 2 (did die, even, until the fandom decided they wanted Shadow to be a returning character). a relationship isn't going to be easy
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ the first hurdle, would be befriending him. unlike others (i.e. team sonic), he would keep anyone at an arms length, try to avoid becoming attached - and immediately pulling away as soon as he notices any attachment ╰┈➤ this is how he is with everyone; he used to be open and less guarded with others, like Rouge and Omega, though his anxious attachment style later caused him to pull back - this is unavoidable, and questioning him about it will only cause it to worsen for a week or so
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ you'd have to be the one to take the first step when it comes to starting a friendship, be it as small as just sitting in the same area doing your own thing, or even initiating a conversation despite the 'dont talk to me' energy he often radiates - it'd be like talking to a wall, so hopefully you can keep up a one sided conversation
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ you'll know that he'll start to consider you to at least be an acquaintance when he starts to allow himself to be in your presence longer than usual, and even give brief responses to whatever it is you had been talking about. even if it is just as small as a hum of acknowledgement; when he considers you to be a friend? he'll start to seek you out every now and again when he has the free time to do so, and even engage in a proper conversation ╰┈➤ it is during the friendship that he begins to catch feelings; there will be moments of vulnerability, of openness. only when he realizes he doesn't mind it when you hug him or hold his hand to drag him somewhere that he will realize he is becoming attached and pull away
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ the confession is far from planned - more so accidental. but either way, he is the first to confess. it wasn't one of his smoothest moments, 'embarrassing,' more like it; but it was sweet, endearing ╰┈➤ you or his friends would have confronted him about the sudden distance, and while he'd try to avoid it, the pain from the single question of 'did i do something wrong?' would hurt too much; he had to let you know it wasn't you! even if it would damage his pride to admit that he, the ultimate lifeform, was scared and didn't know what these feelings meant(it was adorable, to see him flushed red as he put his feelings into words, the shade darkening as you explained that what he described was love - and that it was okay to be scared)
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ the start of the relationship was, well, rough. but! shadow is determined to show that he is serious about you! due to what happened to maria, he will be protective - even if you can fend for yourself. some firm boundaries and reassurance can fix this; he'll get better over time
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ pet names aren't something shadow deems to be necessary, so he'll typically just use your name or some nickname derived from it. if you express your love for them, though, he may just use 'honeydew' or 'darling' ╰┈➤ pet names won't be used in public on his end though, he views them as intimate things for only you to hear him call you - they're just for you and only you
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ personally, i think he's more shy when it comes to PDA, but all for it! you just won't often catch him being the one to initiate it unless he sees someone eyeing you or something is going on nearby. his default is holding your hand, but if he is a little bit more bold, he may just wrap his arm around your shoulder
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ not much of a cuddlebug, but he adores giving fleeting touches behind closed doors or when there is a moment alone with you. typically its a short peck on the lips, or a simple hug. at night, though, he will gladly cuddle, typically being the big spoon
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ shadow can have nightmares, though it isn't often that it occurs. on these nights, please let him bury his face in your chest while you groom his quills. it helps so much, and the purrs you get in return are absolutely precious
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ all in all, he would do anything for you and be vulnerable just for you; with help, he might even just be able to let himself joke around and have fun with his friends like he used to <3

It's does remind me this one song, Christmas Kids. Yandere Sephiroth tried babytrap his s/o for not leaving him. Christmas kids represent the triplets. Which is Yan!Sephiroth tried to make his s/o pregnant. They tried best to escape hell away from their own prison house. Even, they're change their name and move other country, Sephiroth will find them no matter what.
Tumblr media
Yandere domestic Sephiroth AU? Yes, please. I've listened to the song, I really like it. Something about sad songs with happy beats always gets to me. I may have heard it before in some YT shorts... Anyways, it fits a domestic Yandere Sephiroth and a Pregnant!Darling very well. Just imagine the darling coming back to her new home and finding Sephiroth waiting...
Companion fic here.
Content Warnings: Slight NSFW, Emotional abuse, Pregnant Darling. Long headcanons under the cut.
Tumblr media
Grocery shopping for the week wasn't easy, but it had to be done. The boys won't be happy that their mother went shopping without them, but school must come first.
Plus, the darling wasn't in the mood to hear Loz and Kadaj arguing and begging for certain foods that week. But regardless of their squabbles, they are her precious gifts. Her Christmas kids, as they were born on that day. The happiest day of her life.
The darling opened the door to her new home, taking a deep breath and feeling the exhaustion from the errand. The ache in her swollen feet, aching back and sensitive milk-filled breasts was overwhelming.
But the pain and discomfort she felt in her pregnant body was a small price to pay for the freedom she and her boys gained.
The young, naïve triplet boys were confused of why their mother wanted to move suddenly, but they obeyed her with little hesitation, anyway.
The darling didn't want them to turn out like Sephiroth. His possessiveness and control were too much to bear. When he took to killing innocent people in the misguided attempt to "protect" her and the boys, that was the last straw. She knew she had to leave that fucked up place called "home" behind...
She grabbed her young boys and left their prison house when the stars aligned...
Despite her unexpected pregnancy by Sephiroth, her journey brought her here. She kept pushing forward, and the reward was a peaceful, cozy home for her and her children. Until today.
As the darling placed items on the shelves, she felt a cold, eerie sensation, as if something was watching her from the darkness.
She forced herself to ignore the eerie chill, opening the window blinds slightly as she resumed her normal stocking pace.
Even though the sun was shining brightly on this beautiful day, the eerie chill still lingered in their new home.
But it has nothing to do with what happened in their past. Definitely not. It's probably just a cold flash from her pregnancy getting so close to the end.
As she tippytoes, she strained her body to place the last few items.
As a response, the backache from her pregnant belly intensified. She could feel her baby's sporadic movements, ranging from gentle kicks to violent jolts. Maybe the darling should've invested in a step stool...
A wave of heat washed over her, a heat that was neither comforting nor from the sun, but a heat that was harsh and oppressive.
Now she's having hot flashes? Oh, the perils of pregnancy. At least this little one inside her should be much easier to have than the triplet boys.
The darling softly smiled as she recalled the adventurous banter among the triplets during their journey to a new home. They were debating the sex of their new sibling.
Loz longed for a younger brother to wrestle and play games with, knowing that he would have a better shot at winning against him, unlike his other brothers.
Yazoo, with his level-headed and composed outlook, predicted it would be a girl, welcoming the possibility of her tempering the wildness of his brothers (what a hypocrite).
Kadaj didn't care either way, as long as they didn't challenge his position as the leader and his status as his mother's (self-proclaimed) favorite.
The darling let out a deep groan as she paused her stocking. Her unborn child ended the sporadic fetal movements with the hardest kick yet. Something just isn't right... Perhaps she will see someone later this week after she and the boys finish moving in.
Suddenly, the dark, icy chill behind her shifted to a menacing heat, like a furnace blazing from the shadows. It felt so familiar, like… No! It's impossible! That chapter was a distant memory.
The darling is just imagining things. It should be no surprise that the human brain likes to play cruel tricks like this.
Like how Loz kept running to his mother, crying about seeing mysterious dark feathers around his school, the grocery store and other places their family would visit. He would complain that Sephiroth was too good at hide and seek.
The darling figured the strange dark feathers were simply a product of his mind, missing his father in his own way...
But it became alarming when Yazoo began to murmur and point out the smallest details of every single dark feather as he brought them to her.
Kadaj was getting frustrated, beginning to wonder why their father wouldn't help them finish moving in.
The darling refused to believe the boys. It could just be the ravens shredding their feathers, right?
With trembling hands, the darling slowly reached out for the final item. When she completes this simple task, she can lie down and relax. All of her stress, and the aching in her back especially, would soon be gone.
Just before she could grasp it, a large, gloved hand appeared and delicately placed the last item on the top shelf.
The darling felt a strange, unwanted sense of relief as she felt the slow and gentle strokes of another hand on her back.
...His presence could not be denied any longer. She felt his chest expanding and contracting against her head, and heard the gentle thump of his heart.
Sephiroth… No matter how many miles they traveled or how many times they changed their names and minds, he still had the determination to find them. He'll always know.
His silver tresses brushed against her skin as he hummed his sinister lullaby, pressing his lips to her ear.
His free hand grazed one of her sensitive, milk-filled teats. His hand then slowly descended, aiming for the treasure below.
His darling's swollen belly, where the new life within her stirred and grew.
He rested his hand on the center of her large belly. Warm, twisted happiness now radiated from him. His plan worked.
His darling refused to turn around. Struggling to contain her sobs, His darling averted her head from him and wept in silence.
His fingers glided over the stretched skin of her stomach, while his other hand moved lower to caress the small of her back.
As he opened his mouth, his warm breath tickled her ear.
"A touching reunion."
Tumblr media
I wasn't sure if the prompt ask had the darling pregnant with triplets or already had them and was pregnant with a spare child, so I just combined a little of both concepts, but regardless, thanks for the great inspiration.

Giant Fucking List of Obscure Video Games I Recommend!
It's finally done!! Took me long enough, but here it is. Over 50 games I recommend. Just in time for the Steam Sale. Holy shit I spent way to much time on this.
Some of these are well known to anyone into the indie/AA gaming scene or just on the internet often, but I still felt the need to mention in case people haven't heard of them. All of these are obscure compared to any AAA game and I'm confident no one would have heard or played all of these.
They all have something I found interesting in someway. I was going to include a trailer for each game, but apparently Tumblr doesn't like that. So I have put a link to a Youtube playlist for all of them in the same order as this list. Some of these games are also on various consoles to, but I can confirm they're all on Steam beyond one.
I only picked games I've played personally. I know of many other good obscure games, but haven't tried or bought them yet so they don't get on the list. Also many games on this list remain unfished to me, but that's more due to time and other life shit then them getting bad.
There's a lot of fucking games In this list so hopefully you find something you've never tried before and give it a shot. All these games are on Steam with one exception, but that's a free game. I also organized them by genres that make perfect sense to me.
Trailers Link:
The Best Game Ever:
Outer Wilds
Fuck it let's just start with the only mandatory game on this list you need to play. You know how nearly every space game is a overpromised underdelivered fucking mess? Like all of them.
Outer Wilds is the actual good one. Don't want to say much more then that. This is very much an experience that you need to know as little as possible to get the best experience. Not even linking the trailer in the playlist.
Absolutely play this game if you had to pick only 1 thing on this list.
EarthBoundLikes:
OMORI
OMORI is a game about a group of kids who go on magical adventures and save the day. That's it. Nothing else sinister going on here.
It's a well known indie game and for good reason. It's fucking good. One of my favorite games of all time.
Art style is peak. A mix of pixel and pencil drawn art that works so damn well for me. The battle system is turn based and revolves around changing emotions and teamwork. It mixes a happy child like vibe with a darkness underneath it, which is right up my alley. A tale of trauma and grief. I'm still fucked up thinking about some story bits in there.
All the characters are wonderful and the story is helped a lot by keeping it focused on a small group of friends.
Play it.
LISA: The Painful and LISA: The Joyful
LISA: The Painful/Joyful are a pair of games that fuck. They fuck hard.
They're morbid, tackle many taboos, and have a dark but also stupid sense of humor. The visuals are nothing groundbreaking, but this isn't a game that needs perfect pristine pixel art. The combat system is a lot of fun, but takes very clear inspiration from Earthbound. The story is just perfect though.
You play Brad whos on a journey to rescue his adoptive daughter who was kidnapped in a post apocalyptic world of only men. You meet the strangest allies and the game has a lot of odd characters in it. Want a lawyer fish in your party? This game has it.
It does not shy away from throwing punches and is not for anyone who can't handle a story that tackles themes of abuse, depression, suicide, and more. The game also has a sequel I don't want to say to much about, but it's absolutely worth it as well.
If you want a fun and fucked up 2D RPG adventure and somehow haven't played this then please do so.
Mandatory Metroidvania Soulslike Indie Game Darlings:
Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights
Ender Lilies is the first of many metroidvania's on this list. The indie scene is filled with them and for good reason. The formula works so damn well.
What I love about Ender Lilies is the concept of the player character. You play a white priestess who is also a child and helpless on her own. However, you can summon the spirits of allies and slain enemies to fight for you and those spirits are all your attacks. Gameplay is the same as any other Metroidvania, but knowing I'm this helpless child in this world infected by blight really sells me on the setting.
There's nothing revolutionary to this entry in the pantheon of Metroidvanias, but the visuals and setting are why I recommend it. This game is a slow descent into hell. Also you do get a big heavy hammer attack and any game with a big hammer weapon attack is a good game. Big bonks.
Craving a Metroidvania with a macabre setting? This will do it.
GRIME
GRIME is something else. I don't hear anyone talk about this game and it's a damn shame. I don't even know how to even describe GRIMEs setting. You play as essentially a sentient black hole on a rock body. You go through, with lore slowly revealed as is the Metroidvania stable, and absorb your enemies.
This games aesthetic is best described as fleshy stone. It's very unique visually and what made me want to try it out. As for gameplay you'll need to learn parrying as this games combat system heavily relies on it.
This game surprised me and has a entire level I never expected with one very unique boss to top that off. Also be warned. This game is very much a platformer as well. Similar to how the Ori games are, not just pure combat challenges. If you like your metroidvanias with little to no platforming then you won't enjoy parts of this game, but nothing as difficult as things in Hollow Knight.
If you enjoy metroidvanias then this is a must play. More people need to talk about it.
Salt and Sanctuary
This is where it all started. Certainly not the first Metroidvania by any means, but the first 2D Soulslike Metroidvania or at the least first advertised as such. The devs intended to make Dark Souls in 2D and they did it. Before Hollow Knight, the games listed above, or so many others that took inspirations from Souls in the 2D world, was this game. I know this game was popular with the souls community as it came out, but I don't really hear about it anymore. Hollow Knight just dominated all discussion.
The controls and combat are very much Dark Souls but in 2D. The lore is cryptic and hidden away. There's a fuckton of weapons and spells and multiple playthroughs worth of stuff. The game is hard though Hollow Knight would easily one up it in terms of difficulty.
This game also has covenants that are actually good and the mechanics around them are vastly improved over any souls game that has covenants. I won't go into detail, but I wish the souls games copied this games mechanics for that.
The setting is high fantasy with the lovely dark bloody horror underneath it all. The art style can turn people away, it's not as pretty as other 2D souslikes, but I enjoy it personally. It fits.
The game has a lot to explore and you can get lost in its world pretty easily. I remember walking into a boss room from the exit somehow and got behind the boss and it was all intended if you navigated around him.
If you can appreciate or just get past the visuals and want to see where the 2D soulslike genre began then you should play it.
Metroidvania's Before the Dark Age of Soulslikes
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Long ago there was a time where Metroidvanais didn't have soulslike mechanics defaulted in and set in these bleak post apocalyptic worlds. I have 3 of them to recommend. Starting With Dust: An Elysian Tail
This is a fun little game. A game that I'm not sure many people know about or would think to play today. Metroidvanias pre Hollow Knight tend to get forgotten when I see people about them now. It has a mix of platforming and hectic combat. I remember the game having a cool spin sword attack with a even cooler aerial attack. I liked it a lot when I played it many many years ago.
The art style is colorful and everyone is an anthropomorphic animal. More games need anthropomorphic animals beyond catgirl or rabbitgirl, seriously I grew up on shit like sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank.
You play as Dust and are accompanied by Fidget. you got a magic sword and you kill a bunch of shit while saving the day. Just a fun little Metroidvania that doesn't overstay and go on forever.
It may be dated in some ways, but if you're a fan of these types of games and want to play a older one then here you go.
Guacamelee!
The combat in this game feel great. Another little forgotten gem of a Metroidvania. It has such a unique style to it and has a fun cartoony vibe. It's pretty fucking great.
You play as a farmer who dons a luchador mask to save his friend he loves and the world being taken over. The combat is a mix of punches, kicks, and throws which is unique from the usual swords and magic these types of games tend to default to. As the game goes along enemies will have shields that need certain moves to break and you'll be switching from the land of the dead and living in combat and platforming.
Both this and Dust before it don't reinvent the genre or anything, but have their own unique charms that I recommend them both if you're a fan of Metroidvanias.
Cave Story+
This is a old classic. The original Cave Story came out in 2004, and was released with a enhanced version in 2011. This is a must play Metroidvania and an old gem. It's the oldest game on this list technically.
This game has little to no melee combat, but instead goes all in on using guns. More Metroid then Vania in that sense. What's unique to the combat is enemies will drop experience that will level up your guns automatically. Each gun can be upgraded to 3 levels, but when you take damage you lose experiences and levels. This adds a extra layer or rewards and punishment to getting hit that I like. Your weapons are perfectly usable at level 1 so it's not like you're fucked, but it gives a greater incentive to avoid damage.
It has fun characters and and fun gameplay. It's a genuine indie gem that I think everyone should play.
Pixel Action Adventure Games With A Dash of RPG Elements to Taste:
ANNO: Mutationem
This game is a pixel art cyberpunk adventure. I adore the art style. It's a 2.5D action platformer set in a futuristic setting. You're on a quest to save your brother with the help of your hacker friend/girlfriend. A quest which leads to a far more complicated story.
The story in this game goes off the rails in ways I love, but I know it threw people off. People have compared the latter half to Evangelion and It can be confusing to follow at times. I still highly recommend it, even if you get lost near the end. A simpler story in terms of Lore would have worked better, but I say fuck it. Go all in.
To me the appeal of this game is the setting. A fascinating cyberpunk sci-fi setting shown through wonderful pixel art. Just walking around the various cities was a joy on its own. There's a lot of attention to detail and I think it's worth playing for that alone. Combat is your standard side-scrolling Metroidvaniaish kind of stuff with various weapons and upgrades and all that. I found it a little challenging at times, but this isn't a game meant for extreme difficulty from what I remember.
If you want to play as hot badass woman in a cyberpunk setting given life through detailed pixel art, then this is the game for you.
CrossCode
This is the most dense indie game on this whole list. CrossCode has so much to do. The game is expansive and slowly drip feeds you with more. You have 5 skill trees, 4 of which are tied to an element, multiple upgrade paths in them. You have a mix of melee combat with twin stick shooter mechanics thrown in. The game has multiple dungeons with puzzles that are both difficult to figure out and then execute the solution for. These aren't like a 2D Zelda dungeon where things never get to complicated, I really took a lot of time with every dungeon.
The setting takes place on another moon physically, but its actually all virtual and a MMO people are playing from all over the galaxy. Though the game itself isn't a MMO really. You play as a set character in a set linear story that's unrelated to that actual in lore story of the MMO.
The characters are fun and the setting is a joy to explore. There's a lot of side content and I don't remember any of it being a drag. This games also challenging and I know It took me a bit to progress at various points. The pixel art is very detailed, especially with the outdoor environments.
This game will keep you engaged for a while and there's challenging DLC and even fun incentives to play new game plus. This is just all around a solid game experience.
Hyper Light Drifter
I played this game a long time ago so details are hazy, but I know I really enjoyed it. It's top down and filled with action. You got a sword. You got a gun. You go kill things and I do remember many challenging combat encounters.
I have forgotten all story elements, but even now I still remember some imagery that reminded me of Evangelion, which is always a plus. Though story was never the main draw to games for me so the setting and combat were all I needed to keep engaged.
Not the most descriptive review of the game, but I know this is one of the furthest game on this list from when I played it and I only went through it once. It's a cool game though and if the trailer enticed you then you owe it to yourself to get it.
Phoenotopia: Awakening
I adore this little hidden gem of a game. If CrossCode is the most dense indie game on this list then this is a very close second. Possibly even more dense, I truly can't decide for sure. It's cute, funny, charming, and full of legitimate challenges.
You play as Gail who lives in a small town village. Some shit happens that I won't give away, but you end needing to travel the land and go on a fun adventure. The story is full of comedic and lively characters. It never takes itself to seriously or gets really dark which Is a nice change of pace.
This game really is an adventure. You will travel a lot and get very familiar with any hub area. There's secrets and puzzles packed all over and gives you good reason to revisit. A nice drip feed of progress is felt as you unlock more stuff.
In terms of combat it's bar far the most simplistic on this list and could even frustrate others, but like everything else in this game it has charm and I adore it. The simple mechanics don't mean no challenge though. I was stuck often, but felt so satisfying when I won.
Some of the late game areas can be bullshit and will frustrate you, but stick with it. This is a genuine top tier hidden indie gem that got no attention. Honestly just under Outer Wilds this would be the other must buy. Absolutely play this.
Vampire Survivorlikes:
20 Minutes Till Dawn
Everyone knows about Vampire Survivor and everyone knows many games came out that tried to capture that style of gameplay. This one is the only one of those I've played and it's wonderful.
You unlock multiple characters and multiple guns with various upgrade trees. Kill the horde, survive, upgrade, survive even longer. Each level only takes 20 minutes, hence the title. I appreciate that as the game would never end with how strong you end up being by the end after you learn the mechanics.
This isn't anything groundbreaking, but if you need to kill half a hour then it's a fun thing to play.
Hawklikes:
Umurangi Generation
Let's fucking go!! This game rules!
As someone who is going to pursue photography more seriously as a hobby this game is perfect. Unlike something like Pokemon Snap or games with photo modes, this game really captures the feeling of holding a physical camera and the moment to moment decisions you make with each shot.
You unlock different lenses and control each shot as you would a real camera. After each photo you can edit it on the spot purely for your own creative reasons. The visuals are low poly and very colorful.
The game has a tony hawk style of progression. A hawklike if you will. You get dropped in a level and are given a list of photos to try and take. You can of course take photos of anything. You have a limited amount of film and can find more throughout the level.
Also there's a story. There's a dark undercurrent to the whole thing and the game is very overtly political in all the right ways. Don't like politics in your games? Fuck you! This game dives right in while still maintaining the core gameplay loop. Need more games like this please.
Please buy this game and it's DLC.
Action Games:
Furi
Top tier action game. It's a boss rush game, that's it. 10 bosses with some vague story that briefly connects them. It's not bloated with bullshit and knows exactly what to focus on.
The combat is a mix of intense melee combat with parries and dodges and the like, with twin stick shooting. No upgrades. No farming. No choosing between this weapon or that. No additional moves or mechanics. You fight a tutorial boss which teaches you everything and then you go. You have the full toolkit from the start and that lets you master it slowly over the game.
It's so fucking satisfying finally winning and knowing you improved and earned that win. I like the story as well. It's not that complex, but the ending bits worked for me.
If you want a genuine good action game that has no bullshit attached then get this.
Amid Evil
There's not much to say about this one other then it's really fucking fun. It's a first person action game where you use magic and weapons to go through combat filled levels. You have health and mana that all weapons use outside of your axe. The levels are filled with secrets, you move fast, and it's just a fun action game.
Sometimes a game isn't more then that and it beats games that are stuffed with unnecessary mechanical bloat. If you want a fun first person action game that's not just a full shooter then this is the game for you.
Adventure Games:
The Cat Lady and Lorelai
I love these games. No one ever talks about them or knows about them and they will certainly linger in your mind. The devs have made 2 other games that I have yet to get to so for now I am recommending only these.
Play The Cat Lady first. It's the first one and tells the story of a very depressed middle aged woman who gets a second chance at life, at a cost.
Lorelai is about a young woman in a very abusive household trying to survive while seeing what lengths she will go to save those she loves.
Both these games revolve around deals with a devil and feature a lot of horrific violence. Fun!
The stories in both evoke a creepy disturbing feeling and you're always on edge. I won't say these are straight horror games, but they sure use horror imagery. The art style really helps sells it. The animations or character models may not be the most beautiful thing around, but it has that indie charm I love. The voice acting isn't perfect either, but these aren't negatives for me. These are passion projects and imperfections are what make any piece of art shine brighter. Real people put their soul into these games and it shows.
The gameplay is standard adventure game fair, but all keyboard controlled. So no endless mouse clicking everything on the screen. which works wonderfully. Though being pure adventure games you're here more for the story then the moment to moment gameplay.
Please play these.
Detention
Detention is probably well known due to the controversy with Red Candle Games other game, Devotion being wiped online for shitty reasons. It's available now on their own websites store, though I still have never played it. I should one day as Detention was pretty fucking good.
The gameplay is the usual 2D adventure game fair. A lot of clicking and puzzle solving with some horror thrown in. The story and setting are where it's at though.
The game is unique in that it's made from Taiwanese devs and the games setting is rooted in their cultures history. I don't want to give away any real details beyond that, but it certainly left an impact and seeing a game not set in Europe, America, Japan, or any fantasy equivalent to those was refreshing. The games also not super long and could easily be beaten in a day.
Go buy it. Play it on a long free night. Support these devs.
Rime
I love the aesthetic of this game. Cel shading indie colorful goodness. I got this for the visuals alone and was very happy the game that came with it was good to. Visuals are a major factor in me getting interested in a game and the reveal trailer was enough for me to play it.
It's very light and cryptic on story for most of it as to be expected from this kind of game. You're a kid, you wake up on a beach and go forth exploring. You solve puzzles and hide from danger and go through each of the unique levels trying to piece together whats going on.
Like the game before, this isn't a super long one. Shouldn't take more then a day or a few to get through it all. Though I do recommend you take your time and explore like I did. Let yourself be immersed in the setting.
This is another example of just a pure perfect indie game. Doesn't overstay it's welcome, tells a simple but cryptic story, and has lovely visuals.
Atominous
This is the one of the few games on this whole list that I would say is truly obscure. In fact I have no doubt this is the most obscure. If you're big into indie games then nothing on this list will honestly surprise you, but I'm confident this is the exception.
In this free game you place as a a little guy who's job is like pest control. Instead of bugs your job is to collect and protect the world from rare atoms called Atominous. Basically little atoms that can alter reality. You go into a big house and your job is to find them through the power of puzzle solving and clicking every little thing you see.
This game is all about clicking everything. Nearly every object has unique text that pops up, if not multiple. You find keys to open more of the house and slowly suck up the atominous atoms and clean up the place.
That's it. It's a fun quirky little free game that shouldn't take more then a couple hours. No excuse not to try it, it's free. It's also the only game not on steam, but instead here
Adventure Games Where You Hit Things:
TUNIC
TUNIC is a lovely indie game. You play as a little cute fox and go on a adventure to save your poor trapped mom. such a cute game :3
I adore the visuals, I love low poly stuff and the game is full of charm. Looking at this game makes me happy. The game is like a mix of a top down Zelda and Fez and it being reminiscent of FEZ was what really took me by surprise. I won't go further in how it's like FEZ, but it really elevated the game for me.
It's a fun top down game with simple fun combat. You kill enemies, find key items, unlock more of the world, and get fed cryptic lore. The perfect formula for a fun little indie game. The game is decently challenging to with it's boss fights, and overall a nice fun little experience with some neat surprises.
TUNIC is wonderful, go play it.
Kena: Bridge of Sprits
This is the most PS2 game I've played since the PS2. I mean that as a compliment. This game felt like going back in time to a simpler time.
Visually the game is not at all like the PS2. The visuals are beautiful and has been compared to Pixar. It's bright, colorful, and well polished. To me this is peak aesthetics. This game is worth playing just to see all the work that went into the game's visuals alone.
It reminded me of a PS2 game because it's a self contained fun third person action adventure. Just a fun game with no bullshit holding it down or any other purpose then being a fun adventure. The world is a joy to explore with a nice steady progression. I especially love how the Hub is mostly corrupted and you slowly restore it over the course of the game. Shit like that always feels so good.
There's a lot of unexpected challenge to. Some of the later fights and especially bosses took me a bit to beat. Just like a PS2 game you'll get random difficulty spikes that are so fucking satisfying to beat.
I highly recommend this game.
Adventure Games Where You're in the Desert:
Sable
Sable is a coming of age story presented in a very fun interactive package. This is a game about heading out into the world and exploring on your own whim to figure out what your character becomes as an adult.
You play as Sable, a young adult girl who has to leave her tribe and head into the wider world to discover herself. The goal is to find mask which representative a life path and pick one by the end. The actual game is about heading into a desert open world, solving puzzles, helping NPC's, and discovering what bits of hidden lore hide throughout. You do this all on a hoverbike you can customize as you unlock more parts.
As always the art style is important to me and this game has something really unique. The characters animation is low framerate and it can be off putting to some, but of course I loved it as I love any odd creative choice. I love the lighting and colors to. It's hard to describe just why I was so mesmerised by the art style, but I can safely say it's one of my all time favorites.
The only negative goes to technical issues. The game ran like shit on my PC and my PC isn't bad. Even people with far better PC's then me ran into frame rate issues and others didn't have any. Sometimes games aren't optimized well, but this game was so magical to me that I loved it, despite the tech issues.
It's a very chill game. You want to explore a cool world at a slow pace and get lost in it? Sable's the game for you.
It Comes In Waves
This is a short game where you have to start over if you die. A penalty I feared, but truthfully this isn't that difficult of an experience. You start on one end of a desert and have to carry something to the other end as it grows inside a tank on your back.
As you wait for whatever your transporting to grow you will explore minimalist environments with some unique imagery that speaks of a wider history you just have to wonder about. The whole time you have to watch out for raiders and watch your water level. It always depletes and you will need to explore and refill it as you journey on. I also love how you have a map, but the map is like an actual map. It doesn't show you on it, but just the overall area.
This game will take you a hour at best and is unlike anything else on this list. There's something about just slowly walking across the desert, not knowing what's ahead, and hoping you can make it to the next water tank. Just a little experimental game about a harsh journey.
Platformers With 2 Entire Dimensions:
MO: Astray
Ever wanted to play as a little blob? No? Well you should because this game was a hidden gem. I was thrown off by this game at first and then pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.
This game feels like it should be a metroidvania. It's 2D and you're on a broken down ship or facility or something. Nope. This game is fully linear and at first I didn't think I'd like that and was disappointed, but it works so damn well.
You play a slime essentially and you have the magical power to read the last thoughts and minds of corpses by settling on their rotten fleshy head. With this power and other little story tidbits you learn what's going on, your purpose, and so on.
There's no combat in this game really. You move by shooting yourself in any direction you can see and you can stick to surfaces. There's danger. There's enemies. There's boss fights. All without the usual fair of attack/dodge roll, that's standard for 2D metroidvanias now. This game is something different and that alone makes it worth it.
Also a note on the boss fights. All of them felt very unique from each other I prefer having a few well crafted unique bosses then having a bunch of the same type of fight over and over again.
Another genuine hidden gem you should try.
Platformers With 3 Entire Dimensions:
Frogun
Frogun is adorable. It's like a N64 game and I love it.
You have a frog grappling hook and go through little short levels that ramp up in difficulty. There's optional challenges in each one. The art style is absolutely going for that early 3D low poly vibe that is starting to become more popular.
This is a perfect example of just a fun video game for the sake of being a fun video game. No serious story or message or intense complicated gameplay mechanics. Just a cute 3D platformer reminiscent of a older time.
Also I played this back when I used to stream and a Frogun speedrunner showed up in chat and helped me pull off a couple speedrunning tricks so that was fun.
If you want something simple and fun then here it is.
Cyber Hook
The ultimate speedrunning game. You have a gun, a grappling hook, and the ability to slow down time. This is a pure platformer. You enter levels with the goal of getting through as fast as you can.
I never got great at it, but the few times I really got going fast and flew through a level felt awesome. It's so satisfying finally doing things right after many failures and you will fail a lot.
There's really not much more to it. Neat visuals with satisfying and simple mechanics. If that sounds fun to you then check it out.
Marble It Up! Ultra
Platformers really are just the perfect mechanic to make fun mindless games with. Marble It Up! Ultra is another simple 3D platformer that's just purely focused on being fun.
As always it's not that complicated either. You're a marble and you try to reach the end of each stage with a time limit. There's items to stop time, make you jump higher, and go faster. Just all about building up speed and there's tons of ways to skip past parts of levels. Like the two games before, this one is perfect for speedrunning.
It's fun, go buy it.
RPG's:
Roadwarden
I was going to make a big post about why I preferred this to BG3, but scrapped it. BG3 is fun, but the story just bores me from the get go. Where BG3 failed for me Roadwarden succeeded. All story and all fantastic.
This is a text based RPG. Very simplistic visuals which show just enough to let your imagination handle most of the work.
You play a roadwarden who has the lovely job to travel the dangerous roads and help the townsfolk all while working on your greater goals. You pick between 3 starting classes and those do change how you approach things quite a bit. You have a time limit and that will force you to prioritize things over others. You can't do everything in a single playthrough. Your decisions matter and you aren't going to figure everything out.
You have to manage your health, money, hunger, and cleanliness. You will never have enough money for everything and that helps create more interesting choices. You have to manage what you do in a day. You meet a lot of people and forge allies or enemies and it's all told with stellar writing.
If you want a well written fantasy interactive story then you must play this game.
RPG's With Intense High-Octane Turn Based Combat:
Epic Battle Fantasy 5
A long time ago in times forgotten there existed these ancient relics called Flash games. Maybe one day I'll talk about old flash games I was into, but for now I'm only talking about the latest instalment in one of them. Epic Battle Fantasy is a series of games made by Matt Roszak. They started as little flash games, but have since turned into bigger games that are on Steam. 5 is the latest one and also the best so I'm recommending this one.
I've gone through this game multiple times. This game fucking rules. The game is easy to control, satisfying, and has my favorite turn based combat system period. No seriously, this is my favorite turn based combat system. I could go on what I like about it so much, but I'll spare you all most of the details. I'll say it gets rid of mana entirely and put all your abilities on cooldowns which changes based on what you're using. This just fixes balancing and helps you from spamming heals and all that. I love this system. It's easy to control, intuitive to understand, full of options, and can have a chaotic randomness I enjoy.
In this game you explore the overworld, solve puzzles, and fight enemies. The story is not at all serious or anything like that. It may not be a Flash game anymore, but it still has the older internet spirit of not taking things to seriously and being a little juvenile. There's also a lot of post game challenges that still are impossible for me to really do well or at all.
You can change the difficulty anytime and another thing I love is the entire game can be controlled with just a mouse. You can use a keyboard to, but a mouse covers everything which I think is neat.
This is such a wonderful combat system and the game I've beaten most on this list. If you want legitimately challenging turn based RPG combat and don't care about story or characters to get that then this game is a must play.
Shadows Over Loathing
Want a lovecraftian mystery RPG injected with a dose of comedy where everybody is a stick figure? Yes? How very specific, but luckily there's a game just for you.
Shadows Over Loathing is a turn based RPG where you search for your missing uncle in a area full of strange locations and characters. I never did play their other game West of Loathing, and I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It was a lot of fun, creative, difficult at times, and had a world I really wanted to explore.
It has a lighthearted comedic tone throughout and the silly art and stick figure characters help with that. The actual turn based combat is fun to. Nothing to complicated but could be challenging to which is needed to help this style of combat really shine.
There's really not much more to it. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy then please check it out.
RPG's Fused With A Light Novel:
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA
AA games still exist! I finally get to talk about Ys. I've played 3 Ys games and I'm going to talk about my favorite one because of the fun gameplay. This is a very unknown franchise that has existed since the 80's and even now the 10th instalment is set to release later this year.
As for why I'm recommending Ys 8, it's because it has some of the most fun gameplay. The combat is fast paced, encourages good timing, and full of that anime over the top stylish action. You control up to 3 characters and can easily switch between them. Each character plays differently and has their own special moves and everything just feels so satisfying.
You play as generic light novel anime man, Adol. Tagging along is generic tsundere light novel anime girl and other light novel anime characters. Like edgy boy with a gun, loli raised in the wild, and blue haired girl. You crash land on a island and have to survive and find survivors. Much like LOST the story goes off the rails and of course in classic JRPG fashion you need to stop the end of the world somehow. Unlike LOST characters are generic and the usual anime fair.
Despite the lackluster story this game still fucking rules because it's so goddamn fun to play. It also solved crafting forever by making it so you can convert common items into rarer ones making anything you find useful potentially. Seriously it's such a nice feature and all crafting systems without it are lesser.
If you want some fun action combat and don't mind anime bullshit then really, check out the entire franchise. Any of them will do, but this is the one I'd recommend the most.
RPG's Fused With A Light Novel and A WW2 Textbook:
Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 4
Picture this. WW2, but with anime and magical girls. Japan just never stops with these incredible ideas.
I adore these 2 games. I haven't played 2 or 3 as those are PSP games and I don't hear great things. However I can confirm 1 and 4 are fucking fantastic.
These games are tactical RPG's where you command troops one by one in missions. Most are usually about capturing a enemy base, but there's a lot of variety beyond that in both of them. You lay out your troops at the start plus your commander who's in the tank. You get a set level of CP per turn and each CP is used to control a unit. The actual game is probably piss easy for experienced tactical game players, but I'm not that at all. I found it legitimately difficult, both games.
What sets it apart is the game turns into a sort of third person shooter when controlling the units. You can freely move up to your AP and get one action to do. If it was just top down the whole time I'd find that not that interesting, but actually moving around and taking cover unit by unit is very engaging. There's 5 classes in the first game and a 6th added in the fourth game. Each class can be upgraded as well along with weapons, equipment, and the tanks.
The stories in both are nothing special truthfully. It's anime WW2 with silly dumb anime characters. I don't mind that and had a lot of fun, but if you can't stand something like Persona then these games will infuriate you. To me stupid anime characters in games can be a lot of fun, like Raz in 4, the dumbest but somehow most entertaining character for me. Expect some silly anime cliches and tone changes and the usual fair for these kinds of games. Even if the story is a big nothing for you, I still think both games are worth it for the gameplay.
Another aspect that I really love is all your units have personality traits that can trigger as you control them. What caught me off guard was that they're both positive and negative ones. There's ones like a woman having man hater and fancies woman as traits, aka the lesbian. There's straight up a guy with misogynist as a trait. Some are lonely, frail, daredevils, have crushes or people they hate, even one with the masochist trait. All these good and bad traits translate into potential buffs or debuffs that can happen in the game.
Sadly these side characters don't get much story in the first game. Just a unique design with some personality traits and maybe a couple in battle lines of dialogue. However, the 4th one introduced squad stories. Essentially little side stories that revolve around the non important squad mates. They were always fun to do and the missions for them are more unique because they are designed around only using those 3 characters.
I recommend both of them, but if you had to play one I'm not sure. 1 has the better story, the overall lore itself establishes in 1, and the gameplay is still fun. 4 has the better gameplay, more unique missions, and the squad stories which were a highlight for me.
Just pick which one sounds more like your thing if you only want to spend the time with one of them. Both are fun.
RPG's About the Harsh Reality of Capitalism:
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
I adore this games concept. It takes the common NPC seen in these little RPG adventures, the shopkeeper, and puts you in their shoes. You're father has a big debt to pay off and you now have to sell items out of your house to help pay it off before the deadline.
You lay the items out and then have to haggle your way to a profit. Finding the line of when to haggle and how much is the key to success and I failed miserably. I never did beat this game, but I haven't beaten many games on this list and that won't stop me from telling you to play them. I think the concept alone is enough of a reason to check it out.
The game does have combat as well. You can hire an adventurer to go with you into a dungeon and fight enemies for treasure. I like how you hire someone from the Adventurers Guild, just another cool concept as a typical game would have you play as the character being hired instead all the time. I also like how dungeons are high risk high reward. If they die then you lose most of what you gather and essentially just wasted the day.
It's just a cool concept and a nice change of pace from how a game set in these typical fantasy settings would go. You aren't some savior of the world, but just a shopkeeper trying to pay off debt.
Spooky Games:
Yuppie Psycho
Do you want a game about a corporate building being haunted by dark forces and being a badass fighting your way through it all? That's Control. You just want Control.
Unlike Control which bored me to death after a while. Yuppie Psycho is about a haunted corporate building, but you play a new lowly worker who's been tasked with something far above his pay grade. Brian Pasternack is a new hire who's in way over his head. What should have been a normal corporate jobs turns into a witch hunt, literally.
You aren't a badass and will have to sneak your way to victory, uncovering the buildings hidden secrets along the way. For me that's part of why this works over Control as a effective story. You're kind of a fucking nobody who has to be extra careful and is reluctant to even do this. Far more relatable honestly.
The joy of this game comes from exploring this building and uncovering the secrets and horrors. Each floor is unique and this game gets creative with the corporate horror vibe. I love some of the designs of things and how it blends comedy and horror together. It also has branching paths and even limited save slots which seemed frustrating at first, but wasn't really a big deal. Not saving every chance you can really adds to the tension when sneaking around.
It's not a true horror intense experience, but as someone who is a baby with horror I found a lot of genuine tense moments. It's a real indie gem.
The Complex: Found Footage
Kane Pixels backrooms videos are honestly pretty fucking great. I'm not usually a fan of horror at all, but there's something about these videos that just work for me. Then pgWave decided to make a video game creating the experience of exploring these kinds of spaces.
This is a creepy game where you slowly move through liminal spaces and just sort of get lost in it. There's no jumpscares or anything intense happening, but as a baby with horror this game was tense to go through for me. Honestly I appreciate it's not a more traditional horror game with a monster or something. Just dropped in a space that's inherently unsettling and leaving it up to you to explore.
If you have a free night and want to get lost exploring spaces only games could deliver then play it. It's literally free.
Games Where You Gotta Go Fast:
Distance
This game fucks. I actually remember when playing the first version of this game back when it was a student project. Students at DigiPen made a game called Nitronic Rush and it was (maybe still is?) available to download for free from the schools website. That game fucks and they announced a proper full game called Distance and it was one of the rare instances I actually bought a early access game.
Distance is a car game about going fast as fuck. The levels don't put you against anyone and instead just getting to the end is the challenge in itself. You have a boost that can overheat, a jump, and even wings when needed. The levels will require you to weave in and out of oncoming danger. They have jumps where you'll need to turn the car 90 or 180 degrees to land on a new track. All while giving you a wonderful sense of speed and accomplishment when you pull things off right.
It's not a easy game either and levels will get challenging. There's a ton of levels and challenges and if you get sucked into the gameplay then there's a lot to keep you there. This game seeks to deliver the thrill of going fast in a dangerous track where everything is out to kill you, and making it to the end. There's really not much more to say. It has a specific vision and fully realizes it.
Games Where You Trust the Heart of the Cards:
Foretales:
This game is very unique and nothing quite like what I've played before. The entire game is card based. Each of the characters have their own decks that are all mixed together in your hand. You have 4 resources you can collect, gold, food, fame, and infamy. You can get item cards as well. The board has various location cards you need to move through to move the story along. What's unique about this is the cards can be used in battle or on locations.
It's hard to really go into details how this all works, but you don't have a separate hand or anything for when combat begins.
Some cards have uses in locations and battles and others don't, but there all mixed together which adds to you planning ahead and making the best choice. You can use a eavesdrop card near a guard post to get a juicy secret which can be used for blackmail later. You can forage for food and obviously a forest will give you more then a mine shaft. There's a lot of really cool little interactions and creativity put into this systems that's just to complicated to type out and explain.
One thing I can get into is the best feature of combat. The fact that you can get through it without fighting or with less fighting then needed. Those 4 resources can be used in locations for story or optional reasons, but they can also be used in combat pacify enemies. Bandits can be bribed with gold or food for example. Fame and infamy can be used as well in certain circumstances. They are a constantly growing resource that always have uses. I'm sure it's possible to do a full pacifist run, though I imagine it would be difficult.
The game also has multiple paths for the story to go and lots of optional stuff. Multiple characters to use down the line but only 3 party members so there's more choice as well. Also everyone's an anthropomorphic animal because why not.
I just like how it's a card based game that's not just a battle between opponents or a roguelike or how cards are typically used in video games. If nothing else this game should be played for it's game design alone. If you want a really unique interactive story experience entirely dictated by cards then this is about the only game I know of like it.
One Step From Eden
I'm very bad at this game. So bad I still have never beaten it once. It's really fun all the same though.
It's a deckbuilding roguelike set on a grid. As the formula goes you fight your way through, choosing your path, collecting cards, and seeing if you can win. In my case that's a no.
The game is set on a grid where you have to manage what spells you currently have, dodging enemies, and somehow making sense of the chaos. You can unlock other characters that have their own unique mechanics to help freshen things up. Also the game just throws you in the deep end and lets you learn through playing. No tutorial or anything, just have at it.
If you're itching for a roguelike that's very fucking challenging then enjoy.
Inscryption
This is another game I expect many others to know about, but if not then honestly just play it.
It's a rougelike card game set in a wonderfully crafted creepy setting. You're alone in some mysterious persons shack forced to play a really well designed card game. Of course if it was just that I'd not be recommending it.
The mechanics are well thought out and slowly learning the mechanics feels nice. You will fail, a lot, as is the case for roguelikes, but keep at it. The game is filled with secrets and puzzles and mysteries that you'll just have to figure out for yourself.
Much like with Outer Wilds way back at the top, I don't want to say much more. If you have somehow not played this or don't know anything about it then you should.
Tainted Grail: Conquest
This is still the only proper deck-building roguelike in the same vein as Slay the Spire. While I haven't played much of that and honestly couldn't get into it, this game I did.
It was described to me as Slay the Spire meets Dark Souls by some poor soul who's brain is forever lost in soulslike hell. In reality it's just a cool deck building game where you fight creepy monsters and slowly build up the village to make each run easier. There's characters to find and NPC quest you can make little progressions on each run. It's just enough story and context to give this game a sense or purpose and progression outside collecting cards.
What added more replayability to me beyond the quest was having 9 classes to work with. In truth it's really 3 broad classes with 3 variations on those broader class types. You have the fighter, archer, and summoner as the broad classes. They use similar cards, but their strategies vary with each subclass. A summoner is more about making their summons powerful, bloodmages use their own life to summon minions that get stronger and die on their own, and necromancers sacrifice their minions to turn into a Lich. The fighter and archer subclasses are as varied and it's a good way to use similar cards across different playstyles.
I had a lot of fun with this one. It's a fun deck building game.
Thinking Games:
Manifold Garden:
I love the space this game takes place in. This is the shit only games can truly deliver on. The world is basically always looping. Each level repeats in all directions when your in open space. If you fall anywhere, you'll be ok. You can just fall endlessly even, it's very mesmerising and freeing once you get used to the fact that you can just jump off anywhere, and even needed to solve the level sometimes.
The other fun mechanic the puzzles primarily revolve around is the ability to walk on any surface and change gravity as you do it. Essentially you turn the wall into the new floor and is the main mechanic for puzzles in enclosed spaces. This game uses blocks of various colors and the simple task of putting them in the right slot is made complicated by having to altar gravity and matching them up. There's other mechanics introduced of course, but you'll need to discover those yourself.
The game can be beaten in a day give or take your skill at puzzles. I appreciate that it doesn't overstay it's welcome and uses it's mechanics in interesting ways. Also this reminds me I still need to play Antichamber someday.
If you like exploring spaces only games can deliver on or puzzles then this is the game for you.
FEZ
FEZ! This is such a fun interesting little game. It's probably well known given who the creator is, but if you haven't checked this out before, then you should.
The trailer makes it appear to be more a platformer then a puzzle game and that's half right. Similar to another game on this list, FEZ goes much deeper then a mere platformer. It has some esoteric puzzles. As I understand (could be wrong) one puzzle still hasn't been solved legitimately, but had to be brute forced and even now the community has no concrete answers on how you were supposed to get the solution.
The good news is the harder puzzles aren't technically required to just finish the game. You could still enjoy this as a fun platformer. The way the world works is you see the game world on a 2D plane. Like any other 2D platformer. However, the world itself is in 3D and you can switch the perspective to change where platforms and other things are. It's really fun moving about this world and in a sense each level is it's own puzzle to figure out how to get through it with these mechanics.
I highly recommend this game.
Thinking Games for DJ's
FRACT OSC
This is another game I would be shocked if anyone knew about. No one talks about this game ever and I don't even remember how I found out about it wayyyy back in college. This is also the oldest game on here I've played. I haven't touched this is years, but know I enjoyed it a lot.
What i remember is it's filled with music based puzzles. I also remember being very fucking confused and having to look shit up, but the real joy is just the vibe. Everything makes sound and the whole game revolves around music. I slowly explored as much as I could and just took it all in. It's a fun space to be in and I'm a sucker for being dropped in a unusual place only games can delivery on.
If you don't know shit about music production like me you might have a hard time or maybe I was just a fucking idiot and needed help. Either way I still recommend this to everyone.
Vibing with the Beat Games:
Sayonara Wild Hearts
This is basically a interactive album. It's a rhythm game that's not to difficult, which is good as this is more about the flow and vibe. There's not much more to say about it. It will take an hour and every bit is lovely. It's a visual and auditory feast that has some clever ideas packed in. I think everyone should experience it.
Soundodger+
This game won't be on the Steam store for much longer sadly. Warner Bros being shitty and taking cool shit down. I haven't played any other of the Adult Swim games that are being taken down, but I encourage you to find the list and get anything interesting while you still can.
The game itself is a fun little bullet hell rhythm game. The song plays and you are a circle in the middle of larger circle. Obstacles are thrown out into the middle timed to the music and you simply have to dodged them. I don't remember it being to hard, but I know there are community levels and I just have to assume those are going to be tough.
It's a cool game to vibe to and it's going to be gone soon. Don't miss your chance to get it.
Artsy Games That I Don't Know Where Else To Put Them:
The Beginner's Guide
This a narrative experience about the relationship between the narrator and the game dev who's games are being played. That may not sound like the most interesting premise, but trust me it's very engaging. This game has a unsettling feeling underneath it all and it's really hard to go into more without just spoiling things.
The actual game is you going through a series of small little games made by a Dev named Coda as the narrator Davey speaks to you about various things relating to the game and Coda himself. It's explores a character who's frankly caught up in a unhealthy obsession with someone else and quite the journey.
It will only take a hour and half to get through and I think it's worth a playthrough if you like narratives only video games can deliver on.
The Static Speaks My Name
This is the shortest game on this list. It's also the most depressing. If you struggle with dark thoughts and depression and really need something happy to distract you, then do not play this little free game.
It's a sad and unsettling little experience that has a lot of room for interpretation. I'm a fan of little strange pieces of art like this and if this sounds interesting to you then it's free. Check it out.
Minimalist City Builder Games:
ISLANDERS
This such a cute game. It's a simple city builder where the goal is to keep building things correctly and move on to another island. You start on a randomly generated island and are given a set of buildings and a number to reach. Buildings will get bonuses based on whats near them and as you unlock more buildings the number to reach gets higher.
That's really it. It's easy to understand and a nice little relaxing game about building a cool island town. Pretty cheap and pretty fun.
Multi Genre:
The Hex
This is multi genre because it quite literally has many different gameplay modes packed in it. A bunch of old video game characters stay at a Tavern where a murder may take place. It's a murder mystery! Also so much more.
In truth it's a narrative video game about exploring these characters past lives and revealing a larger narrative underneath it all. This was made by Daniel Mullens who's latest game I recommended earlier. Much like Inscryption, this game slowly draws you into it's setting and drop feeds you it's secrets slowly.
The Hex was pleasantly surprising as I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. It's worth playing.
That's it. That's the list. Over 50 more games to add to your Steam library which means over 50 more games you'll get to, eventually.

Today on another episode of stories I'm too sleep deprived to write: Jekyll and Hyde Bridgerton boys au
Since the Bridgerton boys tend to get so bipolar around their love interest, what if it was actually a day/night curse that only true love can... blend in.
Take Anthony, Benedict and Colin, respectable gentlemen by day, rakes by night.
During daylight, Anthony is respectfully courting Edwina and trading barbs with Kate, but during any night time ball he's cornering Kate in dark libraries and whispering sensually in her ear about all the things he wants to do to her. Kate finds him distasteful at first, easily cluing in that during daylight hours, Anthony is too rational to attempt to seduce her, and running away from him during night time balls, but his changes in mood are getting out of hand, she's taken to staying at home for the past number of balls and Edwina swears that Viscount Bridgerton is beginning to scare her. The less of Kate he sees at night, the more his ungentleman side wants to have her. And Kate is running out of options to avoid him, she's falling for him and if she doesn't do something drastic she's going to end up ruined, or worse, married to the insufferable man, so in a last ditch attempt to save herself she's just announced she's going to India... Now Anthony's unrestrained side has started blending in with his good one in an attempt to stop Kate from leaving him and it's not good, not good at all
Benedict thought he was spared the most unsavory sides of the curse, some night time debauchery here and there was a small price to pay for keeping his reputation as the ton's darling. That until he met the lady in silver, and for the first time the wild side of the curse got out of control. The one that got away drove his nocturnal self mad with want. For 2 years he fought against it only for Sophie Beckett to bring it out of him more strongly than before. Sophie Beckett isn't scared of anything, she should be scared of Benedict, who gets her a job in the morning, then demands she be his mistress at night. But she's figured that even at his worst she can push him back and he won't hurt her. Sure he's determined to help her establish herself independently during daylight and demands she depend only on him during his nighttime adventures, but Sophie is strong, she's dealt with worse. At least until gentlemen daylight Benedict starts seducing her in a very rakish way. And wild untamed nighttime Benedict starts romancing her like a gentleman in love
Colin... Well Colin has always known he's cursed. He learned to work around it, keeping his darker nature under control with decadent food and debauched travels and the occasional gambling. Until Penelope Featherington asked his nighttime self for a kiss and got in the way of his neatly laid plans. Penelope is clever, too clever, his daylight self might hate her, but oh his nighttime self can't live without her and she thrives on it. Truly it irks Colin to know that she prefers him at his worst during the night and rejects his at his best during daylight. She with her lady Whistledown secrets, smiling as she indulges his every hungry whim during secret nighttime meetings and then pretends the man she's taken for lover is not Colin Bridgerton. If she didn't frustrate him so, he might think himself inlove with her. Penelope Featherington knows Colin's secret, truthfully she doesn't mind if he knows hers, as lady Whistledown its only fair that he knows she can ruin his life if he dares to ruin hers. His nighttime self is fun, savage, and completely enamored with her body, nothing like daylight Colin. Penelope adores that side of him. Part of her doesn't even want to admit they're the same person because Daylight Colin is the popular charmer of the ton who can't even look her in the eye and calls her his dear friend. But nighttime Colin is hers and he doesn't demand anything out of her as her lover, truly its the best arrangement in the world... That is until an overprotective Colin Bridgerton ravishes her in a carriage and proposes marriage in front of all her family, all in the same morning. Could it be his two personalities are blending??
And Gregory Bridgerton, he's seventeen and afraid, very afraid about when he'll reach a point where his curse will be triggered and what that will mean for his best friend Lucy Abernathy. Because Greg knows he's going to respect Lucy till the day he dies, but he also knows he can't live without her and he can almost feel the want in his bones, how little it would take for his Lucy to be his undoing and the reason he needs to lock himself up at night... It's going to happen eventually but Gregory hopes it takes longer than a few years, for Lucy's sake and for his own.

Oh Captain, My Captain ~ Pirate!Winter
a/n: I recently watched the one piece live action while suffering from red-haired winter brain rot... thus this fic was created. @foolish-sparrow, my pirate queen and favorite mother figure, this one's for you. ❤️ also last fic of 2023, so I hope the new year treats you all well!
tw: possible ooc aespa girlies (I have never written for them before), violence (guns, swords, and death, oh my!), alcohol mentions, one suggestive mention
word count ~ 2.9k
summary: as a first mate to the captain of the Red-Haired Pirates, your job is simple. 1.) keep everyone in line, 2.) keep the ship running above water, and most importantly, 3.) remind your captain and lover that she needs to take a break every once in a while (after you plunder some enemy pirates, of course!)
♡ Masterlist ♡
Tumblr media
"Come here, my love." Winter's voice rings out over the hustle and bustle of her crew as you slip past a few of them to head up the stairs, towards the helm of the ship.
Every great captain needed a reliable first mate. Someone they could trust when shit went sideways - as it often did as a pirate sailing the seas.
As luck would have it, you were the first mate to Winter's adventures as a captain, but your relationship quickly grew beyond what was conventional for a captain and a crew mate.
It's not like anyone's opinions mattered - if someone was out of line, a few days strung to the front of the ship set them straight. Winter was less harsh on her crew then most pirates, and had a semi-stable moral compass, but she couldn't let everything slide.
"I'm here, Minjeong, do you need something?" You ask as she backs away from the wheel to fish something out of her pocket.
"If I didn't know you better, I'd take that as a form of disrespect," She teases before tossing you a small necklace, "You should respect your captain, especially if they're pickpocketing necklaces off of dead rival pirates."
"I'm sorry, Captain Winter," You catch the necklace before mockingly bowing, "should I kiss your feet next time as a form of respect?"
"I'd prefer you started with my mouth-"
You scoff before admiring the necklace.
The rubies hanging along the necklace shine right in comparison to the gold chain it hangs on. There's a bit of rust on the necklace - from old money, you assume - but you know Winter means well. She often doesn't have much left over to spend on the two of you - she likes to reward her crew for a job well done when she's not fixing cannonball-sized holes in her ship.
You don't hesitate to put it on before answering her.
"Darling, if you want to kiss me, you don't have to grandstand. I'd do it for you anyways."
You lean in to kiss her, as she does the same, before a cannonball hits the left side of the ship. Winter grabs the nearest bolted-down object before catching you in her arms.
"You good?" She asks as you nod in response. "Way to ruin a moment."
"You'll really earn a kiss after this one, Captain." You look back to see a massive ship coming from the distance as your crew scrambles to be on the offensive.
Winter quickly goes to her feet before unsheathing her cutlass from her side.
"I've got this side covered. Go find Karina, Giselle, and Ningning. They're on strict orders to fire whatever they can find until we get close enough to invade their ship."
You're quick to your feet as well as you scan the crew members below you for the three girls you're looking for.
"I'm on it, Captain," You smile before backing away and blowing her a kiss, "but don't kick their asses too hard, alright?"
"If everything goes to plan, they'll regret setting sights on our ship." Winter swings her sword in the air as fellow pirates rally to her side and prepare for the incoming battle.
You scurry away on your mission with a sickeningly sweet smile on your face.
It's never a dull day on the seas with you, is it, Minjeong?
~
You catch Ningning on your way below deck, and you toss her your extra knife - she'll need it, given that hers find their way into the enemy's neck.
Below deck, Giselle is giving strict instructions to a few new recruits on how to fire the cannons. She spots you and waves as your eyes scan around the room.
"We're guns ablazing down here. How are we upstairs?" Giselle asks before tossing a cannonball into a nearby cannon.
"Everyone's ready, but I'm on the captain's orders to find Karina. Where's our head marksman?"
"Check the gunroom. I think she snuck off with a girl - another marksman, perhaps?"
"Damn you, Karina." You grumble before placing a hand on Giselle's back. "We're still up for drinks?"
"As long as I kick your ass at poker afterwards, then yes."
"You got lucky," You scowl for a moment as Giselle lights a match to set off the cannon, "but keep things running smoothly down here. I have a lovesick puppy to chase."
Giselle softly laughs as you plug your ears and move past the cannons. A few cannons fire off before you make your way to the gunroom. You try to open the door, but it's locked.
"Karina!" You loudly pound on the door before you hear two women squeal.
"Don't come in!" Karina yells.
"Wasn't planning on it, but we need you upstairs in the crow's nest. We're under attack from another ship." You announce before pounding on the door. "You can answer to me, or answer to your Captain. Either way-"
The door quickly unlocks and reveals a disheveled Karina along with another girl behind her in a similar state.
"Don't tell Winter about this, please-"
"Get moving and I won't say another word." You step out of her way, and Karina scurries to above deck after grabbing her gun. "You too, c'mon!"
The other girl makes a noise resembling a cross between a shriek and a squeal before hurrying out of the room. You quickly close the door, but not before grabbing your favorite toy - a musket you lovingly called Killjoy.
With your specialists ready for battle, it was time to head back upstairs and see how much closer the other ship had gotten.
~
"Nice of you to join us, Karina," Winter jests as you join her at the side of the ship, "get up in that crow's nest and start shooting!"
"Got it." She nods before giving you a pleading look.
You wink at Karina, who deeply sighs before heading off.
"Which girl was she caught with this time?" Winter pinches the bridge of her nose in annoyance as you eye the rapidly approaching sea vessel.
"One of her marksmen. A new recruit, if I'm not mistaken." You ready Killjoy in your arms as the two ships are nearly about to collide.
Although Winter's ship has taken some damage, the other ship is about two more cannon blasts from going under. It makes sense that they'd try to get close, but they didn't know the talent of her crew.
With a skilled marksman, a masterful assassin, a crafty navigator who likes to play with fire, and the best swordsman to sail the coast, you had little to fear with your crew. You could hold your own, as could the rest of the crew, but you did like to let them show off - it gave you a clear reputation in the seas.
The two ships collide, causing you to grab the railing along with Winter.
"Charge!" She yells as a few members of your crew, including Ningning, swing across to jump aboard the other ship.
Karina quickly shoots down most of the pirates who swing towards your ship. In your arms, Killjoy is a deadly weapon, so you're able to down the last two pirates on your left.
Before you can check your other side, Winter slices through a pirate that was headed your direction.
"Check both sides next time." She teases as you aim behind her shoulder and shoot down another enemy pirate.
"You watch the front, I've got your back." You say with a smile as Winter charges in front of you to take down another set of pirates who have just swung in.
You aim your musket at a pirate who swings in towards you, but you miss the shot due to a large explosion on the enemy ship that kicks up smoke and debris.
"Giselle, can you aim the grenades a little farther next time?" You scold the girl who appears next to you before she hands you a nearby trident.
"Accounting for distance and smoke, throw this ten degrees portside." Giselle, albeit a little too willing for your liking, takes Killjoy from your hands as you follow her instructions.
"I can't see anything-"
"-just trust me!" She yells as you throw the trident.
Sure enough, a pirate comes charging your way out of the smoke, but your trident pierces through his heart and lungs before he can reach you.
"How did you do that?" You're in shock as you grab the trident from the dead pirate.
"I'm the navigator. I'm supposed to know where everything is," Giselle aims your musket at the sky and shoots a pirate that neither of you could see, "but I did guess that they would charge you head on instead of moving to the side."
"Remind me to fish you out of the captain's cabin more often, mapmaker. You've got some serious talent." You compliment Giselle as the smoke finally clears and you can see who is coming your way.
"I like to make myself useful." She shrugs before easily downing another pirate that tries and fails to swing across to your boat. "I'll return her back to you in one piece."
"You better, or so help me God-" You grumble as Giselle heads to the quarterdeck to fend off more enemy pirates.
On the other ship, Ningning stabs two pirates at once before they both fall to the ground. Another tries to charge her, but a casual knife throw backwards ends their pursuit before it has a chance to start.
You've made enough of a dent in their crew that most fights are two versus one, and your trident stabs two pirates like a kabob before hitting the mainmast.
You grab a sword from a long-deceased pirate as you jump into the fray. You parry an oncoming blow before pushing the other pirate back. Another tries to swing at your feet, but you're quick to jump out of the way and land a blow to their side.
Winter jumps in and kicks one of the pirates to the ground before stabbing her cutlass through their neck. The pirate you injured tries to move away from you while holding their side, but you rush forward and send them overboard with one push.
A gentle hand grabs yours as a sword comes right in front of your eyes. With two swords in their hands and a flamboyant hat on their head, you're certain that the foe in front of you is the enemy Captain.
Winter pulls you into one of her arms before pointing her cutlass directly at the other captain's chest.
"Surrender now, and we may let you live." She raises an eyebrow at the other captain, who takes a defensive posture.
"My crew and I will rip you to shreds."
"You might want to take a look around, then." Winter lets go of you before gesturing around her with her free hand.
The other captain looks around, panicked, as they notice that most of their crew is dead, overboard, or badly hurt.
Ningning waves her hand from the other ship, along with her remaining frontline fighters.
Karina jumps down from the last rung leading up to the crow's nest as she joins the rest of her marksman on the main deck.
Giselle stands to your left with a single grenade that she menacingly tosses up and down every few seconds.
You and Winter stand side-by-side with both of your swords pointed towards the nervous captain who immediately drops their swords.
"I surrender! Drop your weapons!" The captain barks as the rest of their crew raises their hands and drops their weapons.
With guns and swords drawn, you corral their crew into the corner as Ningning steers the enemy ship close enough that everyone can cross safely to plunder their treasures.
You cross your arms as two of your pirates lower the planks on both ships.
"You first, my dear Captain." You bow to Winter, who scoffs before sheathing her cutlass and offering you her hand.
"The captain and her first mate go together, you know." She smirks as you set aside your sword and take her hand. "Let's hope we find enough treasure to fix the ship."
~
The ship you plundered was full of treasures, including a fully stocked wine cellar that you and Giselle called dibs on. You found a pearl bracelet that you could probably pawn off for a pretty penny, but it'd look much better on your dearest than a stack of coins.
You're able to slip it into your pocket before anyone notices, and you help the crew members take some ammunition and supplies for yourself as Ningning counts up all of the gold, rubies, and other assorted treasures.
"How much are we looking at?" You ask before sitting next to her.
"More than enough to fix the ship, if that's what you're asking. We might even be able to afford the top-shelf rum." She jokes as you fish a small leather bag from your pocket.
You fill it full of gold coins before tossing it at Ningning.
"What is this for?"
"I know Winter hasn't been able to pay you for a while, so consider our debt settled. You're free to leave when you make it to the next island, if you want." You tell Ningning, who stares at the bag of money for a moment before emptying it back out.
"Months ago, I would've taken this money and ran off. I don't tend to like pirate crews, as a bounty hunter, but your crew is different."
"Good different or bad different?" You ask.
"Depends on the day." She shrugs as you lightly push her aside.
"C'mon, we're not that bad-"
"I've watched you and Giselle drink a barrel of wine by yourselves-"
"That was one time, and Karina still owes us money for that." You scoff at the thought as Ningning laughs to herself.
"I think I belong here, at least for now." She softly says after a moment of silence.
"Well, we're always glad to have you aboard." You rub her shoulders before standing up. "We've done enough talking. Let's get this treasure to our ship so we can make it to land before nightfall, which means Giselle and I can get wasted at the first land bar we see."
~
You roll your shoulders back after taking your second round of shots.
"Ningning's right, the top shelf rum really is the good shit!" Giselle yells over the live band that's playing to entertain the bar guests tonight.
"Who cares if it's top shelf or from the bottom of the barrel, if it'll get me drunk, it's good enough for me." You yell back as Giselle grabs her goblet of wine.
"I'll cheers to that." She says as your goblets smack together before you take a drink of wine.
"Excuse me," A tap on your shoulder causes you to turn around as a smaller member of your crew lightly taps your shoulder, "the captain's looking for you."
"Heading in for an early night?" Giselle teases before you casually flip her off.
"You know how Winter gets, it's all business all the time with her. I'll see if I can get her to relax for a bit." You stand up off of your barstool before nodding to the crew member. "Lead the way."
"If you're not back before the next song ends, I'm finishing your wine!" Giselle yells over the crowd as you roll your eyes.
"You better not!" You loudly respond before you weave through the crowd while watching the crew member in front of you.
Before you know it, you've made it to the back of the bar. Winter lightly traces the rim of her goblet with her pointer finger before her eyes meet yours.
"Thank you, Hana." Winter dismisses the girl with a wave as you slide right next to her in the private booth.
"How's the ship faring?"
"The contractor won't be able to fix all of the damages in a day, so we're stuck on land today and tomorrow." She wistfully says before taking a sip of wine. "Are you keeping an eye on everyone?"
"Love, you need to let everyone relax." You softly say while gently grabbing her arm. "They worked their asses off today, so they deserve a night off."
"The ship-"
"-will be fine. We paid a couple of locals good money to keep thieves off of it. Now, can the captain go off duty so I can speak to my lover?" You pleadingly ask as Winter sighs and removes her captain's hat.
Her beautiful red hair falls down past her shoulder as she hangs her hat on a nearby coat hook.
"Better?" She asks as you admire her hair.
"Better." You say before carefully brushing her hair with your hand. "You should put your hair down more often. It makes you look absolutely divine."
Her hand quickly grabs yours as you're halfway through combing her hair. Careful eyes meet yours as she tilts her head at you.
"Do you really mean that?" Vulnerability slips into her words as you watch her cringe at how child-like she sounds.
"I do," You smile before placing her hand in yours, "but I think I owe my captain a very special reward."
"You do, my first mate." Winter leans in to kiss you, and without the threat of pirate ships, certain death, or nosy crew members, you passionately kiss her back.
I'd spend everyday fighting off enemy pirates if I knew my day would end like this with you.

Family reunion
Scaramouche x reader
Warnings: a bit of family drama between Raiden and Scara, Reader and scara have a kid, no pronouns mentioned for the reader
You have been walking around the inazuma city for a while now. Scaramouche insisted on buying Koharu new clothing saying the old ones were already worn out and ugly (they weren't. He bought them for her about 2 weeks ago)
"Tch, why is every merchant in this city so incompetent that they can't sell at least one good quality kimono?"
"I think you're a little bit too harsh on them darling. I sure they're trying their best to meet your expectations"
You tried calming down your husband. Last thing you want is him exploding at some Innocent shop keeper
"Besides look, Koharu seems to be having lots of fun!"
It was her first time in the city. Scaramouche didn't want to show himself with his family in a public place like this too often. He said it can bring unwanted attention and put his loved ones in danger. Although you felt like there is more to it than that
You stopped by the shop and looked at certian kimono on display. It was light purple with beautifull wisteria flower pattern. It seemed that it also caught your husband's attention as well because He stopped to look at it
"Oi vendor! Im intrested in this kimono right here. Lets talk details"
As you started talking with the seller, you didn't notice little Koharu wandering off somewhere on her own
"Well (reader), what do you think about it?"
"Its certainly very beautifull, but are you sure we should buy her something so expe-"
"We will be taking it then"
Scaramouche cut you off before you had the chance to complain about the price
"A daughter of mine deserves to wear only the finest of silks. Price is unimportant"
You decided that there's no use in arguing with him. It was getting late, almost time for supper. Koharu must be starving by now
"Koharu let's-huh?"
You noticed that the little girl that was clinging to your leg was gone
"Where's Koharu!?"
"HUH?! Wasn't she with you?"
"She must have walked off and get lost in the crowd while we were talking to the vendor!"
Panic started to rise between you two. You quickly decided to split up and search the city.
Adrenaline was rushing through your veins as you pushed through the crowd as quickly as you could. Worst case scenarious apearing in your head. Kunikuzushi's job is dangerous, what is someone kidnapped her? You felt like throwing up when you thought about it
You asked many shop keepers with no luck. Such a small girl is hard to spot in a place like this. Your heart started beating faster and fatser like it was about to jump out of your chest. You decided to head towards dango milk stall, there you spotted a familliar mop of dark indigo hair
"Koharu!" You yelled and rushed towards her
As you got closer, you noticed that she was with someone. A tall woman in short violet kimono with long hair of similliar shade as your daughter's. She was drinking dango milk accompined with some sort of dessert. She had strong presence making people around her stay away
"Raiden shogun?"  You could hardly belive it. Koharu was pulling at her sleeve white looking at her with deep blue eyes
"Papa?"
"Child, im afraid im not your parent. Did you get lost?
"Ah, Raiden ei! Im so sorry. I've lost sight of her when I was shopping with my husband"
"Its quite alright. Young children are full of curiousity about the world around them they do tend to go on their own adventures. May i ask your name?"
"My name's (reader)! Im her parent. I hope she didn't cause you any trouble"
Raiden shook her head
"Not at all. She seemed intrested in my dessert here"
"Haha, yes she has quite the sweet tooth. I have to hide sweets in deepest corners of the house so she doesn't over eat"
"I can understand her passion. I'm also quite fond of sweet things"
While you were chatting with the Shogun you didn't even notice a figure approaching
"Hey (reader)! Have you-"
Scaramouche paused mid sentance, freezing in place with wide eyes. Ei's eyes also widend in suprise. Two of them stood of them in silnce for a moment before scara seemed to snap out of it
"You-! What are trying to do to my daughter?!"
He stormed towards his creators side, quickly dragging Koharu away from her before picking her up in his arms
You were awere of his past and his feeling towards his mother but you would have never guess they would end up in such uncomfortable situation like this. The atmosphere was tense, like a storm was abou to break out. Raiden's expression was by no means hostile. It was clouded with regret and guilt. She knew that she'll have to face him someday but didn't think it will be so sudden
"I understand that you feel wary of me. However i promise i mean no harm to you or your family"
"Why should i belive you, traitor?"
Scaramouche's tone was harsh and unforgiving. Masking all the pain he has been carring for these long centuries
"I know i can't  expect you to forgive me and i won't try to make excuses for myself, all i ask is for you to hear me out"
Raiden tried to mask it but you could hear slight desperation in her voice
Frown deepened on his face, his deathly stare didn't break even for a second. He hugged his daughter tighter but didn't say anything. Raiden took it as a silent premission to continue
"The decision about leaving you in shakkei pavilion, right after your creation, was one of the biggest regrets in my live. I am deeply sorry for everything that you have to go through because of that"
Something wavered in Scaramouche's eyes. You could see his jaw tighten
"I'm very glad that you have overcame all the diffculties my decision might have caused and you found happiness nevertheless. I love you very much as my son, i wish only the best for you and your family"
Balladeer's eyes opened wider, the harsh glare he tried to up hold was filling up with more despair than anger. Biting his lip, He started visbly shaking now. You've came closer to him, putting your hand on his shoulder, silnetly trying to comfort him
"You and your family are welcome in tenshukaku, any time of the day. After everything i've done im glad you have blessed me with such beautifull grandchild"
Tears threatend to fall from kunikuzushi's cheeks. But before they had the chance to, he quickly hid his expression behind his hat before turing away and storming off with Koharu. He refused to show her that weak side if him again in fear that she would mock him for it.
You stayed there looking in his direction with a shocked expression, not being able to say a word. Raiden looked at the ground with guilt in her eyes. You looked at her before speaking up
"Im sure thats a lot for him to take in right now. Please don't take his behavior to heart"
"There is no need to comfort me. His reaction is understanable. He was a child abonded by his mother. Left to wander the world he knew nothing about. No mother to teach him about it nor correct him when he've gone on the wrong path"
Two of you fell silent. You had no idea what to say to her. Sadness filled your chest. The sorrow she felt all those years must have been uimaginable. Ei hesitantly spoke up, her voice full of pain she could no longer hide
"...please just.. take care of him for me"
She looked up to the sky. Seemingly not only asking you but any devine being that was listening
You smiled softly before replying
"I will"

But that's not why I'm here I'm here to request ghost reader x wally darling!? Dun dun dun!!
How I think they meet wally: Like maybe Julie had a haunted doll but didn't knows it was haunted and gave it to Wally before they could find out and the reader takes a liking to Wally so they helps him with some stuff like moving a couple items to find easier, cleaning up home. the readers clumsy even as a ghost so they accidentally knock some stuff off the table and that's how wally acknowledge their existence maybe?
Romantic or platonic: what ever you want to do no pressure.
From: a new friend 🌜
To: you! 💖
Okay but why do I find this cute bro! Like …you know those ghost costumes with the sheet?! Like like look!
Tumblr media
Like this 👆🏻this is cute! Got it off Pinterest btw. Okay okay enjoy! This one is short, so I apologize!
Tumblr media
Julie skips about that neighborhood holding a doll in her arms. Giggling and playing with the dolls she sees Wally painting just outside Home. Her smile brightens and she goes over to him with a greeting. “Good afternoon, Wally! Whatcha doing?”
“Hey, Julie! I’m just painting but can’t seem to figure out what to paint.”
Julie hums and looks around before looking down at the doll in her arms, she smiles and holds it up for Wally to see them. “You can paint my haunted doll sally and I found it in a box out in the woods.”
Wally gives a confused look at the explanation. A box in the woods? Like, out in the open? Or perhaps it was buried?
“Haunted? Is it really?” Wally wasn’t convinced. There’s no such thing, right?
Julie shrugs and turns the doll facing her, looking into their doll eyes. “Sally said it was but that was a few days ago and nothing really happened. Now I don’t know what to do with them.”
“Did you only keep them over the possibility of them being haunted?” Wally was not amused. Julie would keep almost anything, would she?
“No!…okay, yes,” she admitted sheepishly, hugging the doll. “But I already have a lot of dolls and I don’t have room! I wanna keep them but it’s too crowded.”
The short puppet hums sadly at his friend’s problem and wants to help them. It wouldn’t hurt to take the doll, right? At least Julie will know where it is and can ask to play with them. With that plan in mind Wally nods to himself and offers his plan to Julie. “How about I take them?”
“You want them?” Julie asks, holding the doll out to him.
Wally smiles and nods, taking the doll and holding it close to him. “I’ll take care of them for you. Promise.”
Julie beams and thanks him before telling him she has to meet up with Frank and she skips off to her adventure.
Now alone—with the doll of course, Wally looks down at the doll and holds them up. They're a plushy looking doll, they look, “Cute~.” Wally coos, moving some of the yarn-hair out of the doll’s face and smiles, not noticing the doll’s cheeks changing color to a rosy color.
It’s been a few weeks since Wally took the doll from Julie and well, a few things; Wally has noticed a change, Home would be cleaned even tho he knows it wasn’t before, his art supplies would be organized and brushes cleaned even though he knows he hasn’t clean them yet, tho he would move around, he would head footsteps and small bangs that weren’t Home.
What’s odd is that whenever he sees that a room he was planning on cleaning is already clean the doll would be there front and center, like waiting for his praise for cleaning the room. When an object would move out of place the doll would hide as if afraid to be scolded for misplacing it. And when he’d hear a bang and see where it came from he'd see the doll facing away from him…as if to not see them in pain.
All the time he’d ignore it, pick up the doll and praise them for cleaning, reassure them of their mistakes and comfort them from pain. And all the time, painfully he would miss the doll getting flustered.
One evening, Wally was just lounging around enjoying his hot beverage—the warmth of it that is, when he heard a bang. But it wasn’t like the other ones, this one was bigger and sounded worrisome. Concerned, Wally leaves the living room and heads to the kitchen, where the sound came from. And saw the doll on its back on the floor, but what he was staring at was the bowl floating in the air a few inches off the floor. A figure sitting on the floor.
“Uh—hello?”
“Oh!-“ the figure jumps and disappears! But the bowl stays in place so Wally knows they didn’t run off. Did they just turn invisible?
“No wait! I’m sorry,” Wally moves closer and crouches down. He can’t explain how happy he got when you made yourself seen. It’s a faint outline but he can see deft. “Did I frighten you? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it.” He reaches over and slowly lifts the bowl off you.
Wally, The Wally Darling can’t begin to explain how your eyes took his breath away. They’re devine! For someone who doesn't have it, your eyes are full of life. The color, your eye shape, everything about it is beautiful.
You on the other hand, are flushed beyond belief, you tried your very best to be cautious and careful of your surroundings to not make a mess, to not make yourself known. You’re comfortable with doing your act of service undetected. But as you were trying to put a bowl away in the cabinet you lost your balance and fell back. Now look what that got you…looking, face to face with the person you grew to care about.
“Are you alright? You’re not hurt are you?” Wally tilts his head when he doesn’t get a response, instead he takes your hand and helps you up and makes sure himself that you’re not injured. “Good, you look okay to me.”
“Oh! I apologize, I just, I was cleaning up and..well, oh goddess, I’m sorry.” You cover you face and look away, you’re always shy and hard to talk to and it’s not like you want to, but every time you try your words get jumbled up.
Wally chuckles and places his hand on your shoulder. “Don’t be sorry. You did nothing wrong. How about this, I’ll introduce myself and then you go, how’s that sound?”
He waited a few seconds until you nod and let him turn you around to face him. He still sees you looking down so with his other hand he holds your chin and lifts it up to meet his low lidded eyes. “Hi, I’m Wally. It’s so nice to meet you.”
“Hi…I’m—my name is Y/n. Nice to meet you.”

1 | 𝓣𝓪𝓴𝓮 𝓜𝔂 𝓗𝓪𝓷𝓭
Pairing: Loki x Fem!Reader
The Author
"Come on, Y/N," your mother hums as the two of you approach the large, unfamiliar castle that is looming over you. You are only six years old and have never traveled off-world before. It is an exciting yet terrifying adventure. You grip her hand tighter as she leads you across the bridge.
"Chin up, dear," your father hums as he stands in front of you, not bothering to look back. "Do us proud and you might just find a husband on this planet."
"A husband?" you gulp as you look up at your mother. Her eyes show no emotion. She looks straight ahead and pays you no mind.
"Yes, a husband. I expect great things from you, Y/N. We both do," your father replies.
As you approach the castle, your father speaks to the guards, informing them that they have come for the party that is supposedly in your honor. The guards lead your family through the winding halls of the castle. Your small steps can hardly keep up with the large guards and the pace your parents are walking at. The floral tiara, adorned with roses and leaves, on your head nearly falls off your head as you're led into a beautiful throne room.
There, you are greeted by the king and queen. "Ah," the king speaks as he approaches the three of you. "King Lucius Aurelius, pleasure to finally make your acquaintance."
They welcome you with a warm smile.
"As to you, King Odin," your father replies with a nod of his head.
"I see you have brought the princess of the hour," King Odin smiles kindly at you. "What a lovely dress, princess," he then compliments you. Honestly, you're quite proud of the compliment. The gold dress that you begged your mother to allow you to wear is your favorite. And if you're going to meet your husband today, you want him to see you at your very best.
"Thank you, my king," you answer with a curtsy.
"And what manners, too," he chuckles. "The princes will be out shortly. I believe they're planning something for you."
You turn your attention towards the large door across the room. You can't help but be nervous at the prospect of meeting your future husband. You're so focused on the doors that you don't even notice your parents leading you away until they're dragging you along. Together with King Odin and the Queen, you enter the biggest ballroom you've ever seen in your life. The marble floors glisten under the lights and the large balcony doors are open, revealing the gardens outside.
"Wow," you breathe as you look around the room. "It's beautiful," you murmur as the king and queen thank you for the compliment.
Your father, not so happy with your comment which makes his kingdom seem lesser in comparison, clears his throat and shoots you a warning glare.
"So," your father then speaks, drawing the attention back onto him, "your children?"
"Oh, yes. Y/N, darling," Queen Frigga hums as she nudges you forward. "The boys will be down shortly. They have prepared a surprise for you. Go wait by the stairs," she then instructs, pointing towards the large staircase on the opposite end of the room.
Nervous, you nod and walk across the ballroom floor towards the large staircase.
"Y/N!" you hear a voice call. Looking to your right, you spot a blonde-haired boy, dressed in armor and a red cape.
He walks up to you with a wide smile. "You are Y/N, aren't you?" he asks, his blue eyes wide with excitement.
"Y-yes, I am," you nod. "Are you Thor? I've heard much about you from my father."
"Hmm," he replies proudly while putting his hands on his hips and straightening his back to appear taller than you. "That's me! Prince Thor!"
"Well, it's nice to finally meet you," you smile kindly. "I hope we'll be good friends," you tell him as he holds out his arm for you to take.
"I'm sure we will be," he nods, grinning wider as you accept his hand. "Want to see a neat trick? I can pick up that whole statue over there!"
"Oh really?" you smirk, unconvinced. "Prove it."
"Watch this!" he then beams as takes you by the hand and leads you across the room. You gasp, your heart skipping a beat as he grips you tightly and drags you along.
"Thor! Y/N!"
Looking up, the two of you stop and turn to see the queen standing next to a smaller, dark-haired boy. He's dressed in green and black, and unlike Thor, the other boy's hair is slicked back.
"Y/N, this is Prince Loki. My brother," Thor explains as he releases your hand. "Loki, this is Princess Y/N."
You offer the prince a kind smile. "Hello, Your Highness."
"Greetings," Loki nods his head, keeping his eyes glued to yours. He then grips onto his mother's dress and hides his face. Loki rolls his eyes.
"So anyway, I was going to show you my trick. Are you ready to see it?"
"As I'll ever be," you chuckle.
Thor then sucks in a deep breath before approaching the statue. "This one's going to be great," he tells you as he reaches out for the statue. His fingers wrap around the base and, as if lifting something made of simply nothing, he lifts the statue high into the air.
You gasp as he tosses it from hand to hand, the weight seemingly having no effect on him.
"Okay, enough of that," the queen then shakes her head. "Place it back before you accidentally drop it."
"Yes mother," he agrees before placing the statue back in its place.
"Well done," you applaud him as he walks back towards you. "I'm quite impressed. I didn't think you'd actually be able to do it."
Thor's face lights up when he hears those words. "Thank you," he grins. "I think my brother wanted to show you something, too, but I don't think it'll be as impressive as mine."
You turn to look at the dark-haired boy. His face is bright red as he pulls away from his mother. She then pushes him toward you slightly where he freezes completely still.
"Was there... something you wanted to show me, Prince Loki?" you ask curiously.
"I, uh," he mutters, looking from Thor to you. Without saying more, he pushes up the sleeves of his suit. Then, with a flick of the rest, reveals a white rose out of thin air. "They're said to symbolize loyalty so I thought... well, it's nice to meet you."
With a soft smile, you accept the flower from him. "Thank you, Loki," you hum. "This is lovely."
He offers a shy smile in return.
It takes Loki a little while, but by the end of the night, the three of you are all playing like old friends. "You know, Princess Y/N, we have another brother, too," Thor randomly brings up in the middle of a conversation.
"Is that so?"
"Yes, his name is Balder," Loki adds.
"Where is he, then?"
"He's not allowed to attend the party tonight. Apparently, he kissed his nanny the other day," Thor informs you. "That's why it's just us here."
"Oh my," you chuckle.
"Thor! Loki!" the king's voice calls out to the three of you. Looking up, the three of you spot him waving in your direction. "It's time to say goodnight to Princess Y/N and her family. Come on."
"Coming father!" Thor nods as the three of you rush to the front of the ballroom.
Once your hand is back in your father's, you glance at your two new friends. Which one of them will become your husband? you wonder. Most likely, whichever is the oldest. Perhaps it will even be the one who kissed his nanny. But your parents did seem pretty sure that you'd be meeting your husband tonight... which just leaves the two.
When you glance between the two boys, you realize there's one you secretly hope it will be.
***
After that night, your family has taken multiple trips to Asgard and attended dozens of lavish parties. Each time, you are able to spend time with both princes and the two of them become very important people in your life.
"Y/N, dear," your mother's voice hums as she approaches you in the garden. "Your eighteenth is in two weeks. The King and Queen have decided that on that day, they will decide which of the three princes will be the one to marry you."
"Really?" you ask nervously.
"Yes," she says as she sits down beside you. "Now, I know you are excited to go there tonight but remember, your father and I expect great things from you. You're a princess of Astoria. Do not forget that."
"Of course, mother," you agree.
"And the prince who marries you will bring us glory and honor, do you understand? So, when we get there tonight, I want you to behave. No horseplay. No silly games. We're here to make a good impression and find the prince who will marry you. Is that understood?"
"It is," you nod.
When the three of you arrive, you do your best to hold back from running to the two princes when you spot them in the ballroom. You can tell they're acting different this time, too. Neither of them smiles as they approach with their parents and Balder.
"Y/N," Thor greets as he reaches for your hand. He places a kiss on the top of your hand, earning a small scowl from his younger brother. You wonder if this is the way they'll be all night.
"Prince Thor, Loki," you nod politely.
"We're glad to have you," Queen Frigga hums as the three princes begin to walk away. However, your mother grabs you by the hand, ensuring that you don't walk away this time.
You spend the night talking to various members of the royal family, excluding the three brothers. Your mother makes sure to keep you away, knowing that you'll run off and never be seen again. However, towards the end, once she's had a few too many drinks, she loosens her grip and lets you slip through her fingers.
You rush outside first, determined to get a fresh breath of air. You've felt nothing but suffocating the whole night and you'd do anything to get away from it all.
"Y/N," you hear Loki's voice hum.
"Loki," you gasp as you turn to face him. "What are you doing out here?"
"I could ask you the same thing," he says, a hint of mischief in his voice.
"I just needed some air."
"Ah, so did I," he agrees. "But also, I had hoped to talk to you. I saw you've been wrapped up in conversation with my parents all evening."
"Yeah well, I-"
"I get it," he nods as he approaches the balcony near where you stand. He then remains quiet as he looks out at the stars. You smile and do the same, leaning in towards him as you relax in the comforting quiet of the moment.
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" you ask after a few minutes.
"Nothing. Just didn't want to miss our time together," he sighs as he looks out into the darkness.
"Yeah, well, we probably don't have long. I'm supposed to be inside still, and I doubt my parents will let me out of their sight again. I'm sure they'll have the guards looking for me any second," you giggle.
"Is that so?" he hums, turning to face you. "My, you are so popular, aren't you?"
"Suppose the birthday girl deserves that, don't you think?" you grin.
"Of course," he replies, gazing into your eyes. You hate how he does that. It's like he's able to see right into your soul, feel what you feel without you ever saying a word.
"Y/N."
"Mmhmm," you hum, looking away as he leans in towards you.
"Are you looking forward to it?" he whispers as he tucks your hair behind your ear, allowing his hand to linger on your cheek.
"For what?" you ask, half stunned by his bold move. He's never acted like this before.
"You know," he hums, moving in closer, "for your birthday."
"I'm not sure," you shake your head. "I suppose I'm ready for whatever happens."
"Are you?" he asks, his face inches from yours.
You look away, unsure if you're able to handle him this close to you. "I am."
"Even if it were to be me?" he continues, and you are pretty sure your heart has stopped
"I think," you gulp, trying not to sound nervous, "that I wouldn't mind if it were you."
"Oh," he replies, still getting ever so slowly closer. "And if it isn't me?"
"Then, I'll have a husband," you answer, finally turning your gaze back onto his. "I suppose that is a good thing. Isn't it?"
"I suppose," he hums as his eyes flutter shut. Without a second thought, he presses his lips to yours, causing you to pull back immediately.
"What was that?" you gasp, holding your hands over your mouth.
"A kiss," he answers, reaching out for your hand. "Was that your first?"
"No, I mean... Well yes, but- Loki, you can't just..." you mumble, unable to find the words.
"Do you not want to?" he asks, taking a step back.
"I... I didn't say that," you answer, your cheeks burning hot.
"You didn't have to," he chuckles as he moves back towards you.
You reach out, placing a hand on his chest as he comes near. "We shouldn't," you whisper.
"But isn't that what makes it fun," he smirks.
He's definitely not wrong. All you want is to kiss him again. You allow your eyes to flutter close, giving in to the temptation as he places his lips back on yours. This time, you kiss him back. You wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him in closer to deepen the kiss.
"Y/N, is that you?" Thor's voice then calls.
The two of you pull away immediately, both out of breath and wide-eyed. Thor steps closer and your heart races. He looks between the two of you and raises a brow.
"Were you two-"
"Nothing," Loki blurts out.
"If our parents found out, they'd kill you, Loki. Actually, probably both of you," Thor warns.
"So, what do we do?" Loki asks.
Thor turns to look at you. "Nothing," he huffs. "It never happened." He then grabs you by the arm and begins to guide you back into the ballroom. "Your parents are looking for you. Time to go inside."
You look backward at Loki as Thor pulls you away. The hurt in his eyes hurts you. You've hope to god you never have to see that look again.
***
Two weeks later, on your birthday, your parents throw the most lavish party you've ever seen. They've invited thousands of people from all across the nine realms. Everyone, it seems, wants to meet the soon-to-be betrothed princess.
"Have you told her yet?" Loki asks as Thor approaches.
"Not yet. It's a surprise, isn't it?"
"But you're telling her tonight, right?" Loki whispers.
"Let me deal with it, you ass. You've already done enough to help out," Thor scoffs. "Besides, I think I can figure out how to propose to a princess after twelve years of being told how to do it."
"Well, excuse me," Loki huffs as Thor walks away.
"Y/N," Thor greets when he spots you standing by the cake, helping the staff turn it at just the right angle. "I've been looking everywhere for you."
"Thor!" you smile when you see him at your side. He snakes his arm around your waist and kisses you on the cheek. And as he does, you can see Loki watching the pair of you from a distance away.
"How have you been?" he asks.
"Good. My mother is quite nervous about the big reveal tonight. She's been rushing me all morning, and then when I wasn't dressed fast enough, she nearly threw a vase at my head," you chuckle.
"Wow, and your father? I bet he's excited," he adds, trying to distract from the subject as he leads you towards the center of the room.
"Yes, but I know he's worried too. I'm surprised that neither of them is hovering over me right now," you explain as you look around the room and spot them approaching Loki. Perhaps it will be him after all.
"Well, before all that happens, there's something I wanted to give you," Thor hums, stealing your attention once more.
"What is it?" you ask, looking around.
Before you can take in what's happening, he bends down on one knee, reaches into his pocket, and pulls out a small, velvet box. Opening it, he reveals a beautiful diamond ring. Your jaw drops, unable to believe what you're seeing. Part of you wishes you could back away into a hole and not come back out, but at the same time, you know it would break Thor's heart.
"Princess Y/N, will you marry me?"
"Y-Yes," you hesitate for only a moment before accepting. With a smile, he slides the ring onto your left ring finger and pulls you into a tight hug. You can't help but smile in the moment, knowing how proud both of your parents will be. But once he pulls back, and your two families come over to congratulate you, tears threaten to roll down your cheeks. Locking eyes with Loki is different- and always will be- and now, you're not sure if you'll ever be able to face him again.
The party carries on and the announcement is made. The cheers are thunderous as Thor is officially declared your betrothed.
"I can't believe it," Loki sighs as he stands beside you. He's been watching Thor the entire night. You know he's been dying to speak to you, but hasn't had the chance until the rest of the room is drunk enough to not notice what either of you is doing.
"Can't believe what?" you hum, looking away.
"Part of me thought he wouldn't do it. Not after the other week..." he whispers, voice trailing off into nothing.
"What do you mean?" you then ask, finally glancing at him. "Did you know? Did you both know?"
"We did," he admits, staring out into the crowd. His eyes are filled with hurt, just like they had been the last time you saw him. "We've always known. We weren't supposed to tell you."
"Then why?" you frown, tears swelling up in your eyes. "Why did you-"
"Because, it was the only way I could have you."
"But, we can't-"
"I know. Believe me, I know," he grumbles, looking in the opposite direction of you now. "I'm sorry, Princess, I shouldn't have done it."
"No, I-"
"Happy birthday, Princess," he hums before walking away.
The tears begin to roll down your cheeks, and as you wipe them away, you realize you wish things could've gone differently. You wish Loki was the one you were betrothed to.
Suddenly, a pair of large arms wrap around you from behind and spin you around. You gasp as you hear Thor's laugh from behind you.
"You did so well," he grins. "You've made them so happy. You're going to make the perfect queen."
You bite your lip, hoping not to cry again. And as he puts you down and spins you to face him, he notices the tears in your eyes.
"What's wrong?" he frowns.
"Nothing," you shake your head. "Everything is fine."
"You're crying," he points out.
"I'm just really happy," you lie, managing a smile.
"Okay," he smiles in return, not wanting to push the issue. "Come on, dance with me," he hums, pulling you towards the center of the room.
"Thor," you giggle, trying not to trip over yourself as he drags you along. "I don't dance, you know that."
"Just follow my lead," he insists. "Like always."
The two of you dance until you're completely worn out. By the end of the night, you can't keep your eyes open, and neither can he. Leaning on him for support, you don't realize how close he is to you until his lips meet yours in a surprising kiss. You pull back immediately.
"Thor," you whisper.
"Right," he clears his throat. "I should, uh, probably get you back to your parents. Wouldn't want them to start a war."
"Yes, of course," you agree.
He offers a hand, which you take, and then leads you across the ballroom and back to where your parents are. You spend the rest of that night in a trance-like state. Time passes so quickly, that you can't believe the party is finally over. In the blink of an eye, you're back in your bed, looking up at the dark ceiling and thinking of what could've been.
***
The next time you visit Asgard, two different princes meet you than the ones you grew up knowing. The first greets you with a kiss on your cheek, rather than your hand, and wraps his arm around your waist. The second, who's dressed in gold and black, is not anywhere to be seen.
"Where's Loki?" you whisper to Thor as the two of you walk inside the castle together.
He sighs, shaking his head as he tries to find an appropriate way to explain what his brother has been up to for the past month. "Well, he, uh, is with another woman. You'll see him later," he explains as he turns to face you.
"Another woman?" you question, stopping in your tracks to glare at him.
"Y/N, it's not any of your concern," he insists. "Besides, it's not really serious. Don't worry about it."
"You expect me not to worry about the brother of the prince I am going to marry running around with a bunch of whores?"
"Y/N," he whispers sharply. "People are watching. You'll be careful to mind your tongue. Is that understood?"
"You're such an ass," you snap before walking away.
He follows closely behind you as you try and escape his presence. He catches up easily and wraps a hand around your wrist. "Don't rush off like that," he tells you, nearly sweeping you off your feet. Damn him and his annoying charm
"What do you want from me?" you huff, not bothering to stop him from pulling you close.
"Only a kiss from my betrothed, is that so bad?" he smirks.
You roll your eyes, trying your hardest not to get caught up in his charisma. "Fine, just one," you agree.
He cups your cheeks and leans in to press his lips to yours. As he does, your mind wanders to his younger brother and how soft his lips had been. Except Thor is much rougher. Instead of feeling butterflies, you feel your back pushed up against the nearby marble column. And instead of feeling the warmth of his body, the cold marble causes your spine to ache.
"Oh, god, are you fucking kidding?" Loki's voice interrupts the moment suddenly.
Thor pulls back just enough to turn his head where he sees his brother drunkenly stumbling towards you both. But instead of rushing to his side, he kisses you one last time.
"Brother," he grins, letting go of you.
"Don't bother me," Loki growls.
"What are you so upset about?" Thor asks. "I was only kissing my future wife. Did your whore not love you enough last night? Is that why you're so pissy?"
"Fuck you," Loki huffs.
"Fuck me? Brother, you've got it backwards, haven't you?"
"Don't be a dick," you sigh, addressing both of them. "Let's just go back inside."
"Mmm, no thanks," Loki shakes his head. "I have a better idea."
"Loki," Thor warns.
"Shut up, Thor," Loki rolls his eyes. "You can go back inside and kiss the hell out of your future wife. But I'm going to grab a bottle of wine and have some real fun. Want to come, darling?" he asks, offering a hand out to you.
You glance from Thor to Loki. Part of you wants to go with Loki. To make sure he doesn't do anything stupid. But you know better than to cause a scene. If your parents found out...
"Maybe another time," you sigh.
"Fine, then have fun. I'm sure Thor will give you plenty," Loki snaps before walking away.
"That piece of-" he begins before you cut him off.
"Don't," you say.
"Don't what?" he snaps.
"Say whatever horrible thing you were going to say about your brother. You two used to be best friends. All of us were. You shouldn't talk about him that way. And besides, I'd much rather you come inside and get your parents' attention off of me for a little while," you add.
He sighs. "Fine. Whatever you want," he huffs, reaching down to take your hand. "Let's go then."
***
LOKI'S P.O.V.
Even after three months from when Thor proposed to Y/N, I haven't been able to get the damn scene out of my head. She looked so happy. As if she did truly want it to be him instead of me. But what makes me even sicker is the thought of our kiss. How it'll never happen again. And how no matter how hard I try to find it elsewhere, I know nothing will be able to compare to her.
The thoughts are haunting. There isn't a moment I'm able to completely clear my head. Not while I'm with other women. Not while I'm by myself. No matter what I do, I can't forget. And the worst part is that I'm not sure I want to.
"You've been awfully quiet," the woman kneeling before me whispers as she trails her hands up my leg. "Does this feel good?"
"Yes," I lie as I place my hand in her dark hair. "Don't stop."
I close my eyes, doing my best not to think about the beautiful princess on her knees before me. But I fail miserably. She's all I can think about. I imagine the softness of her lips, the gentle touch of her hands, the sweetness of her voice, the warmth of her skin...
I gasp, opening my eyes as the woman pulls back, releasing me from her mouth.
"Did you-"
"Yes, sorry," I sigh, tucking myself back into my pants and pulling the zipper up.
"No need to apologize, my prince," she smiles quite proud of herself. "Would you like to stay here for the night?"
"Not tonight," I reply, shaking my head.
"You're so tense," she then says, climbing onto the couch beside me. "You need a release. A second release."
She's here right now. In the palace with my brother and my parents. I've always hated going to those damn parties every week since that night. I can't stand seeing the two of them together. And the worst part is that every week, she looks more and more like his princess. It's as if she was made to be his.
"I'll be fine," I insist, standing from the couch. "But if you'd like, you could accompany me to the palace."
"M-me, my prince?" she questions, her eyes going wide.
"Of course," I nod. "Why not?"
"A-Alright, then. Let's go," she agrees immediately, gathering her clothes.
By the time the two of us reach the palace, we're both drunk out of our minds. I hardly recall anything that has led up to this moment tonight, but to be perfectly honest, that's better than remembering it all.
"My prince," she hums as she wraps her arms around my neck.
"Yes?" I hum, leaning in.
"Do you love me?"
I frown as I think back to the way I had last seen Y/N in this hallway. My brother had her pinned up against one of the columns, his hands in places they didn't belong.
"Do I love you?" I question, not answering her question. "Do you want to know something?"
"Mmhmm," she hums as she presses herself closer to me.
Without another word, I push her body up against that same column where Y/N had been with Thor. My lips crash into hers, my hands cupping her cheeks, and I allow myself to get lost in her. She tastes sweet, her body warm, and her curves are soft beneath my hands. I reach down to her thigh, pushing up her skirt before lifting her off her feet. She wraps her legs around my waist, her back pressed up against the cold marble.
"You're so warm," she hums, her voice sending shivers down my spine. "So much warmer than him."
I bite down on her lip, causing her to yelp in response.
"You shouldn't say his name when you're with me," I warn.
"Mmm, then punish me, my prince," she purrs.
I know Y/N isn't here with me now, but gods do I wish it was her. I'd have to keep her quiet, making sure Thor wouldn't hear us. She'd be so good for me. She'd listen. She'd obey. And her body... gods her body.
"Take me to your room," she pleads, drawing my attention back to her.
"What?" I reply, suddenly being brought back to reality. However, before she can say more, the door bursts open and we both look up to see Thor storming down the hall.
"Loki, what the fuck are you doing?" he shouts.
I release her immediately and the girl falls to the ground, struggling to fix her dress. Behind him I see Y/N, dressed in the most beautiful golden dress. She always did look beautiful in that color. A true princess. A true princess who is staring at me with a look of shock and confusion.
"Brother," I smirk.
"Y/N," he then growls as he glances back at her. "Go back inside."
"Umm," the woman I was just with gulps as she looks between my brother and me.
"Leave us," I then order her.
"O-of course, my prince," she nods as she quickly scurries past us and back the way we came.
"Loki," Thor repeats, his voice low and threatening. "What the fuck are you doing?"
"Enjoying the party," I smirk, unable to wipe the stupid grin from my face.
"You're drunk. We have guests. Why would you do that here?" he sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Go up to bed. And don't let Y/N catch you looking this way again. Are we clear?"
"Crystal," I wink as I push past him and head for the stairs. But, as I turn the corner, I spot Y/N's worried concern and it makes my heart stop.
"Is he alright?" she asks Thor as he approaches her.
"Of course, he's just drunk. Nothing new," Thor lies.
"Okay," she whispers softly, taking his hand. "Let's head back."
"Good idea."

You are Cordially Invited...
to the second ever-
Tumblr media
(The envelope opens with a shrill shriek)
THAT'S RIGHT I'M DOING THIS AGAIN!!!
I'm throwing a little Luigi's Mansion themed ball for everyone who selfships and self inserts! (You don't have to selfship in the Mario universe to participate)
ᴵᵗ'ˢ ᵇᵉᵉⁿ ᵠᵘᶦᵗᵉ ᵃ ʷʰᶦˡᵉ ˢᶦⁿᶜᵉ ᴵ'ᵛᵉ ᵈᵒⁿᵉ ᵒⁿᵉ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉˢᵉ ˢᵒʳᵗˢ ᵒᶠ ᵖᵒˢᵗˢ ˢᵒ ᵖˡᵉᵃˢᵉ ᶠᵒʳᵍᶦᵛᵉ ᵐᵉ ᶦᶠ ᶦᵗ'ˢ ᶜᵒⁿᶠᵘˢᶦⁿᵍ. ᴵ'ᵐ ᵃ ᵇᶦᵗ ʳᵘˢᵗʸ
Details about the event under the cut!
Now then, I'm sure you have a few questions. Hopefully I can answer them all here! Such as...
- What the heck are Banshee Blossoms?
Glad you asked, my fine friend! They're a fictional flower I made up based on these pretty little blooms on the roof of the mansion!
Tumblr media
(Don't mind the fire. Luigi is totally fine.)
Here's my silly little doodled rendition for reference!
Tumblr media
Banshee Blossoms are symbols of love, romantic and platonic, even familial! There's a tradition in the Boo Kingdom where you give one to someone you care about. They're said to bless whomever is gifted one with good luck and a happy relationship for the rest of their lives into their afterlife! Theyre pale white flowers that glow like moonlight with purple foliage.
They only bloom in the month of March, so now is the best time to come and view them!
- What's this event all about?
Another excellent question!
This event is tailor made for those of you who selfship or self insert as well as anyone who has Luigi's Mansion ocs! You're all welcome to attend! I'll be hosting it along with my darling husband King Boo 💕
It's just a small, relaxed event for everyone to have fun with whether you're an artist or not.
The general thing you can do is go around to your friends' ask boxes and leave them Banshee Blossoms should you feel so inclined. But we also have... Prompts!
- Prompts?
That's right! Prompts. You're a great listener!
The event runs from March 15th - March 17th, and throughout those days, you, dear listener, will have two prompts to choose from with which you may create things with! Think of them as themed projects? You can choose one or do both if you're feeling it!
The regular prompts will be:
15th - Arrival / Meeting
(Your arrival at the ball, or you meeting someone at the ball!)
16th - Grudges / Spinoffs
(Getting out any grudges before the party begins, or thinking of your self insert/ship/oc in the context of a Mario series spinoff like Mario Kart or Mario Golf ect.)
17th - Party / Comfort
(How you would be enjoying the party, or perhaps reviving comfort from somebody or something.)
Along with our regular prompts, we will also have musical ones for those of you who are music autistics with melodies in your heart like me.
Those will include:
15th - Treacherous Mansion /Paranormal Chaos
16th - Phantom Dancing / Luigi's Mansion DS
17th - Luigi's Mansion Credits / LM3 Music box
These work just like the regular creative prompts! You're just going off a song rather than an idea. You can do one, two, or all three of these options if you wish! No rules against that!
I'll be posting a daily post with all three daily prompts for that day around midnight (12 am CST) each day!
These prompts are for anything creative! Mood boards, writing, art, playlists, you name it! Even just posts saying what you and your fave are doing to participate are welcome!
- When is the event?
Just like I said above, the event will run the weekend of March 15th - March 17th.
- Where is it being held?
Well, it'll be hosted here on this blog! I'll be sure to look for posts and reblog them all here so everyone can see! Be sure to tag your posts for the ball with #Banshee Blossom Ball 2024 so I can see them! That's the tag I'll be looking for! Youre also free to tag me so I can see them too!
But...if you meant what location the event is being held... Its-
Tumblr media
The Treacherous Mansion from Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon! It's a large mansion in Evershade Valley full of many interesting rooms that house treasures from a famous adventurer from days long past.
(Thanks for helping me show it off, Luigi! But get that AWFUL thing off your back-)
Phew! Hopefully that clears things up. I'll try to condense the info here for those of you who need a tl;dr
TL;DR
I'm hosting an event for self inserts and shippers as well as Luigi's Mansion oc havers! It's a ball themed after Banshee Blossoms, symbols of all types of love and new beginnings!
The creative prompts for the event including musical prompts (notated with a 🎵) are:
🌙 15th - Arrival / Meeting
🎵 Treacherous Mansion/Paranormal Chaos
🌙 16th - Grudges / Spinoffs
🎵 Phantom Dancing/Luigi's Mansion DS
🌙 17th - Party / Comfort

Mhysa Mia
Aemond Targaryen, Aegon Targaryen and Jacaerys Valaryon x Fem!Reader
Chapter 2
Chapter 1: Arrival
Story Summary: Lady Otherys arrives in King's Landing, as she explores, she meets several men and has a whirlwind romance with each. Unbeknownst to her, she's been wooing three princes. Things may bubble over, especially when they find out about eachother, and who she's betrothed to. Though she's equally upset when she finds they've been lying about who they really are. Does she remain with her betrothed or will she end up having an affair with all three men?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The water of Blackwater Bay was choppy and rough as the passenger ship pulled into port. A beautiful vessel, fit for a wealthy Lord. Wealthy indeed, the patriarch of House Otherys of Braavos has come to strike a deal with the Seven Kingdoms' Master of Coin, and subsequently the King.
The lord has brought with him his wife, and only child, a daughter. He hopes to help strengthen the alliance with a marriage, King Viserys has several sons, as well as a grandson old enough to marry. If the Iron Bank isn't enough to entice him, surely a betrothal could ease his worries.
The young Lady Otherys rushes giddily from her cabin, her pretty little heels clacking on the wood of the deck. She had never seen Kings Landing, let alone left Braavos, and she was excited to explore. Her mother and father watched her as she impatiently waited for the anchor to lock and the ramp of the ship to be let down.
"Where exactly do you plan on running once the ship is docked?" her mother asks amused.
"Everywhere." she breathes out, her excitement winding her.
The Lady's mother and father chuckle at her enthusiasm, and soon the trio are able to leave the ship. A handsome, dark haired man in a white cloak stands close to the ship dock, he bows as the Lord and his family step onto solid ground.
"Good morning Lord Otherys, I have been sent by the King to safely escort you to the castle." The man speaks very formally, and composed.
Lord Otherys smiles at the man, then hands a bag of coins to the deckhand unloading their luggage onto a cart. "Yes, thank you."
The family is ushered into a grand wheelhouse, the young Lady Otherys is used to luxury, but it still feels like a fairytale to her. She draws the curtain back and stares out the window as they take the short ride to the castle.
Formalities are exchanged, and the family is brought to their chambers. They're given a few hours to settle in and rest after their travels, then the Lord's presence is requested in the small council room.
Lady Otherys wanders the chambers, taking in everything. The golden candlesticks, just like the ones at home, but these are exciting because they aren't the ones from home. Neither are the silk drapes, or the crystal decanters, or the fine linen sheets.
It's all new, therefore it's exciting. The little lady soon grows bored, having explored her surroundings to the fullest. She paces around the sitting room, her mother is sat in a chair resting her eyes. Though her daughter's pacing is disturbing her peace.
"Darling, why don't you go and ask a guard to show you around the castle?" she suggested, knowing she'd jump at the opportunity.
The little lady beams and rushes to the door. She opens it, but finds the hall empty. 'Must be transition time' she thought to herself. It wouldn't be an adventure if she had a guide though now would it? She closes the door behind her and peers down both sides of the hallway.
Left? Hmm, she always likes right better, but no one ever goes left. So left it is. She begins her ascent down the hall, heels once again clicking on the tile. She stares at the tapestries lining the walls. Assuming that they're a depiction of the Seven, a religion she was mostly unfamiliar with.
'I thought Targaryens didn't worship the Seven.' she mulled in her head as she stared up at the art. The little lady must have gotten lost as she walked, her attention drawn to the walls instead of what was in front of her.
"Shit." she muttered and glanced around. Not a soul was visible,'For such a large castle it's pretty damn empty.' The little lady then turned around, and a large wooden door stood before her. Surely there was something interesting behind it.
She grabbed at the handle ring and pulled, the door easily opened although it creaked as it did. The smell of books and ink filled her nose, the bright candlelight of the room lit up her face as well as the hallway around her.
The little lady grinned. "The library." She stepped into the grand room. The tall walls were lined with books, several desks scattered the room and small lounge chairs were tucked away into corners they could fit. The library in their house at home was impressive, but this was something else entirely.
She scanned over every inch of the space, absolutely in love with the new surroundings. Soon, her eyes landed on a man, sitting in a chair with a book in hand. Her nerves jolted, and she hoped she hadn't bothered him. It doesn't seem like she had. His eyes, or eye singular, never left the book he was holding.
She curiously watched him, she had seen men with scars and eyepatches before. But never in a place this fancy, and definitely not reading. The young man suddenly glanced up, his soft blue eye boring into her.
The little lady froze in fear, and her blood turned to ice. She wasn't afraid of what he looked like, she was afraid that she had disturbed him.
"It's rude to stare." he said, his voice was soft but clear. She immediately bowed and apologized profusely.
"I'm so sorry my lord, I didn't mean to offend. I've never been to King's Landing and was exploring and got lost and then I found the library and-" she was cut off by him raising his hand to grab her attention.
He shook his head, the slightest smile on his face. She really had no idea who he was, though he knew exactly who she was. He tossed ideas around in his mind, he could easily just dismiss her and let her be, or he could toy with her.
Nothing too mean of course, he just wanted to see how long it took this foreign girl to realize that he's Prince Aemond Targaryen. Yes, he thinks he'll do exactly that.

CarolNat - Headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carol is the only one that can make Natasha laugh so loudly, even if her jokes are lame or outdated;
Well, Carol is Carol, but Natasha can be Nat, Tasha, Naty, Roma, babe, darling, love, princess, and an infinity of other names that Carol comes up on spot;
Carol is also "love", but only when Natasha is trying to make her agree with something;
She was also called “my love” one time and her eyes teared up;
Natasha is the quiet kind of love. She's full of small gestures that make Carol feel her love. She's not fond of PDAs either. Although she's not screaming it on top of buildings, Carol is more open about it than her. She makes Natasha feel like she's the only person in the entire world;
They enjoy quiet dates. Nights where they sit down and watch a movie, indoor dinners, homemade food, or a picnic if they're feeling adventurous;
Natasha is shorter, so Carol is always - all the fucking time - giving her forehead kisses. Then she opens this silly smile that makes Natasha roll her eyes before wrapping her arms around the blonde because… well, no one can blame her;
Neither of them knew how to cook when they started dating, but Natasha started learning a few things because she wanted to cook Carol's favorite dishes whenever the hero was visiting Earth, and suddenly she became the most incredible cook ever. She doesn't cook for anyone but Carol, though;
Carol brings Natasha little souvenirs from around the universe whenever she has to go out on a mission. Natasha keeps all of them, even the weird rocks, inside a shoe box;
Carol took Natasha with her on her travels for a while and it allowed the woman to meet several different planets;
Carol brings her flowers that she stoles from people's gardens;
Natasha is definitely the little spoon, but... sometimes Carol has a rough trip and she won't even have to ask the woman to hold her tight;
