#they try to gaslight batman and it fails
Text
Danny is on the run from Batman and is looking for a safe place to go, and travels dimensions until he lands in yet another new world.
Hoping not to get noticed by anymore bad guys he stays invisible as he explores this new world...that is until a blond guy with wierd hair and a large sword casts freaking fireball on him and startles him back into the visable spectrum.
After a scuffle in which Phantom discovered he couldn't phase through the blond guy and got thrown to the ground the blond guy suddenly stopped, "You're a kid."
"Please don't adopt me. I got like two other creepy rich dudes trying and they're not gonna succeed either."
The man just stared at him for a few moments before shething his sword into the wierd mess of harnesses on his back, "Thats fair. Are you hungry?"
Phantom was taken aback, "I-yeah? I guess."
The blond guy then started walking off, prompting the ghost to follow him. Blond guy lead them to a bar and restaurant called "Seventh Heaven" and had him sit down at a table while he went to chat with the pretty lady cleaning glasses behind the counter. She asked about Phantom, appearently not realizing he could hear her. Turns out blondie thinks he's some kind of byproduct of mad scientists and he's partially right. He didn't know who 'Shinra' was though.
They eventually gang up on him and force him to spill that he was on the run from wierd feds in two separate dimensions and two wierd billionaires, each from the two dimensions and they both want to adopt him. Danny doesn't wanna be adopted by them though.
The man, Cloud, offered to adopt him in stead. He would allow Phantom to come and go as he pleased so long as he showed up and allowed Cloud to mentor him and teach him how to fight properly. Phantom would be able to use Cloud, Tifa and thier kids as a cover if anyone asked.
Danny saw this as an absolute win.
Aka Cloud Strife says "Yeah, i'll lie to the feds for you"

Mother of the Year (DC x DP)
Here is the link to my DC x DP masterpost, and one of my last notfic I posted here was Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss, Godhood where Danny and Vlad try to manipulate and mansplain their way out of trouble with the JLA.
OK I know we do a lot of John Constantine's soul being owned by King Phantom in this fandom. And that makes sense because it's canon he sells his soul a lot,
but like, hear me out, Talia al Ghul has access to the Pits and has used them multiple times. She has reason to believe she may never die. So, what if in one of her many political manoeuvres she sells her soul for a boon. She doesn't know enough occult to do what John did (sell it to so many people that he can't die because a war would start over who actually got hold of it) but again, she thinks she might be functionally immortal.
But hey, we could even make it not one of her many political manoeuvres. I mean Damian Al Ghul was supposed to be his Grandfather's new body. Why would Ra's care if he got emotional fulfilment by moving to Gotham and training under his dad? Why would he want notorious family-man Bruce to even know about the boy and have him taken to a place Ra's may never be able to extract him from? (Yes in some canon he doesn't know, I am aware thanks).
So, she knows her father's body is failing and she's always been loyal to him (above and beyond what you could imagine FYI non-DC fans) but he'll never let Damian go and in this AU she loves her son more, and so she trades her soul. She trades her mortal soul to the King of Lazarus, the Ruler of Everything Beneath the Water in exchange for Damian's life, for his safe and unnoticed passage to Batman's side and beyond. If her father breaks free of the compulsion not to notice he will kill her without hesitation but if she has failed to secure Damian's safety and mind then she won't care.
Talia tracks down ancient texts held by the All Caste. She makes the trade late at night over her Father's biggest Pit in Nanda Parbat. She thinks the power of the Lazarus Pits will keep her safe but she didn't really read the fine print.
So about a year after Damian goes to meet his Dad, Talia gets Danny in her Assassin bedroom ready to whisk her off. Not to the afterlife, but to Illinois, America. She, as an indebted, quasi-immortal now owes this "'representative'" of the Throne of the Restless Dead near unlimited favours. And the representative's half-ghost clone has just hit a rather... radioactive puberty.
Danny figures that a liminal maternal figure will be invaluable for Dani who is struggling. Sure Sam and Jazz can help sometimes but this girl needs actual raising.
Damian, however, is not impressed that his mother is apparently raising his secret older sister in secrecy on the side when Talia seemingly sent him off to live without her.

Hey I love your work so so so much! ❣️ Do you think you could write Arkham riddler with a disobedient reader?
(please and thank you!)
🥀Yandere Arkhamverse Riddler with disobedient darling🥀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
!Warnings!: this content contains toxic/forced relationship dynamic, yandere trope, mentioned kidnapping, murder, violence, failed escapes, punishment, isolation.
Yanderes are OK in fiction. They should stay fiction. They are not example of healthy relationships. These behaviors are NOT okay in real life. This is for entertainment purposes
-----------------------------------------------------
●This can go about various ways depending on what you did.
●He'll mock you, shout, and gaslight you. Always spitting out a witty remark in annoyance. "My dear, do you really think your foolish childish tantrums are going to change anything about your situation?"
●If you're just shouting at him, wrecking things, or struggling against his affection. You might be locked in a room for an hour, lectured, or loose some personal belongings.
●if you try, and or physically attack or hurt him. Cause severe damage to his machinery or plans. You'll be locked in a room for hours on end, put through his tedious puzzle rooms, or restrained.
●Now.. attempts for escape or trying to contact the outside world. Desperately hoping maybe.. just maybe you can reach batman.. the authorities. Anyone. Anyone who can come and get you. Trying to claw your way out of the predicament you're in.. that's when he loses his cool.
●Shouting, sneering, throwing things, threats of hurting loved ones, degrading insults hurled your way. How dare you be so ungrateful! He provides you home and shelter, hell-! he allows you to be near him, and this is how you repay him?
●He'll take away whatever little freedom you have, lock you in a puzzle room for isolation. Not talking to you on the speakers. No solution out. He'll be too busy fuming for the next few hours.

I have to say, however bad it gets looking at a Holiday Special list of titles and characters, DC's almost always got SOMETHING there that makes me say "yeah boi!"
For DC's Very Merry Multiverse #1 (2020), it's the fact there's a PREZ RICKARD story.
I know. All things for all folks, people. Hopefully something else catches me as I go. I'm not actually across a lot of the most recent multiverse shenanigans but let's go.
It's a Horrible Life! - Harley Quinn. It's a Wonderful Life retelling for Harley, hopping between universes.
Christmas by Gaslight - Batman. Batman is chasing Eel O'Brien (who just stole a load of toys) and Mr Freeze (who is TRYING to steal the load of toys) and Eel accidentally blows up Victor, causing it to snow across Gotham (and drop toys in the street for all the children of the city).
To Stop the Star-Conqueress! - Teen Justice. I...don't really care about this genderswapped universe, but the concept of Klarienne the Witch Girl keeps making me giggle. Klarienne. KLARIENNE. Anyway the Teen Justice team defeat Starrla doing the space starfish thing. (Also this is VERY mixed up in terms of timeline. How are 'Donald Troy' and 'Laurel Kent' reasonably on the same team? They're based on characters 3 hero generations apart!)
Bizarro Love Holiday - President Superman. This is about the made up holiday "Day of Giving/Day of Receiving", which Bizarro hates as nobody has ever given him a present before. A cute small child decides his characteristic speech patterns are sarcasm and gives him his first present.
Holidays Beyond - Batman Beyond. Terry gets zapped/hallucinates with the bends and does a *sigh* Christmas Carol three ghosts of past, present and future. Dustin Nguyen's baby Bruce is the most adorable thing ever.
Night of the Magi - The League of Shadows. So the League of Shadows is basically a Justice League Dark/Shadowpact lineup? They're out to defend Saturnalia from the Lord of Misrule. Also there's a Ragman origin story in here.
Have Yourself a Bizarro Little Christmas - The Unjustice League of Unamerica. It's SANTA TIME!
Bizarro is trying out Christmas gift giving in Bizarro World but it's not working too well. Then Zanta of the Intergalactic Santa Corps arrives! Zanta is charged with spreading the joy of Christmas...whether people like it or not.
Tumblr media
(BTW these elves really need the Elves Union, time to unionise little buddies)
Only, it being Bizarro World, he fails. Sorry, Zanta.
Tumblr media
'Twas the Night - Booster Gold. Booster fights Maxwell Lord at his Planet Krypton restaurant (we find out that this was a staged fight to entertain the diners).
Prez Rickard's Magical Sci-Fi Desolate Souls Club Holiday Special - Prez. I'm quietly devastated Beth Ross doesn't appear in this.
Hmmm. I'm...not thrilled at the way Prez is used here in Earth 47? Now being an aficionado of Prez lore, I am able to say that Prez out there selling things on a TV show via performing acts doesn't gel with the original Prez run (where he was all too earnest about solving problems), what I'm going to call the Vertigo Prez universe (where he left the White House and disappeared and became sort of a totem to people), or to the New 52 Prez run (where after being President he became a senator for years/hung around lobbying Congress).
It feels like it's trying to be 70s zany without engaging with ANY of the existing Prez lore. Disappointing.
A Very Lobo Hanukkah - Lobo. Been a while since we had a Lobo story. Lobo's saving the dolphins!
Having now read several decades of 'DC does a Hanukkah story' in the last week, they've definitely evolved over time from 'look at this very base level explanation where we acknowledge not everyone is Christian' to this, which from my understanding is both engaging with traditional texts AND also running around gleefully with an attitude of 'we are allowed to adapt things and tell more complex narratives'. (However I am unsure of whether anyone stopped to think before using the KJV translation of Maccabees here)

Gotham Knights ep 1x10 "Poison Pill"
Maybe I could just sit here making flappy hand noises about Misha's portrayal of Harvey Dent. But I also do have some coherent toughts.
This ep was a wild ride. I'm enjoying the GK team relationship dynamics, and Misha's depiction of Harvey is absolutely superb.
With an extra big gift basket of thanks to writers Nicki Holcomb and Summer Plair
Harvey + alt Harvey (not Two Face yet)
“When we were kids, we used to talked to each other in our dreams. Meet in the middle, we called it” “you’re a sucker for the truth”
There's so much I like about this--it's like Alt Harvey is an imaginary friend. He comforted child Harvey. Protected child Harvey. But it took a pathological twist. Alt Harvey knows all about Harvey. And he knows how good Harvey prime is. He wants the truth. He's decent. Alt Harvey plays on that--he knew what buttons to push. Harvey's quest for justice, for truth, for fairness.
“Whenever it got too tough I’d tag in” “I do the things that you can’t do”
Alt Harvey is a facet of Harvey, it's a facet in humanity. Primal. Fight or fight. Survival. Kill or be killed. But with all the safeties and inhibitions off.
“You don’t want justice. You want to burn it all down”
Misha really broke out a bit of Batman gravel there, in the scene where alt Harvey strangles Harvey. Fits in with what I talked about in one of my early posts about GK. What Alt Harvey (Two Face) is for Harvey is a little bit what Batman is for Bruce. Two Face is Harvey's version of Batman, and with Batman dead, Harvey needs someone to fill the void Batman left. Batman represents the darker parts of Bruce's psyche, and is something to comfort that scared grieving little boy, the moment of trauma, to fix Gotham, try and prevent that trauma from happening to other families. So Bruce let the bat out. The difference is Bruce never lost himself. Bruce had nurturing parents and then he had Alfred guiding and protecting him.
Harvey loses himself entirely to it--his trauma is different than Bruce's. Bruce and Harvey are somewhat mirror images, them and their alter egos are flip sides of a similar coin. But different methods. Alt Harvey's path to justice is destructive. Batman's is different. He embraces violence, but he's not about burning it all down, he's about protecting and building. Embracing the darkness in order to hold back the darkness.
Harvey's the fire, Bruce is the night.
And so it was a gaslight routine from the Court. Not TF taking over and doing things...I kinda thought that would be the case. They're playing Harvey. Wanted to get one of the only decent leaders in Gotham out of the way. Harvey's a threat to the Court, the Court is a threat to Harvey. Harvey and alt Harvey have a common enemy.
Turner not buying the story the Court fed him about Bruce but afraid it’s true and then finding out it’s true is poignant. He sincerely was choosing to believe in Bruce, so extra ouch on finding out it might be after all. But we still don't know the whole story, what exactly happened. I was right Bruce blamed himself. But did he kill the Hayes'? Or did he fail to save them. Carrie confirms that in this continuity, it's following the core tenet of Batman. “Batman doesn’t kill, he told me that over and over” and “he felt responsible”--feeling responsible doesn't mean he murdered them.
The Row siblings, Turner and Duela, Carrie, Steph -- I really enjoyed how the personal dynamics there played out, and Duela calling Turner on his broody bs after we saw the entire team working to save him. It seems like there's still spots of distrust among them, but they keep becoming closer as a team family at the same time. Cullen wants to stay. To hold onto that family after their names are cleared...Harper says she wants to leave. (But does she really? I think she's miserable because she thinks her feelings for Steph can't possibly be requited--she may change her view of the overall group, once she and Steph find their way to each other).
The picture gets sharper and sharper doesn't it. Turner/Duela have an enjoyable dynamic as well.
So Rebecca is the femme fatale role. This is classic Hollywood noir. I wasn't all that shocked by it since I wondered if Rebecca would follow that archetype but holy crap I did not see it coming that she'd kill her own son.
Carrie telling her mom she's Robin!!!
Is Brody the next Talon, then?

Yandere telltale batman! John doe alphabet
Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?
John's way of showing affection varies a lot depending on the type of person you are. He tries to mimic and copy whatever he thinks you might like and this spans through pretty much everything in the relationship. But generally he likes to give words of affirmation, he's constantly praising you for the bare minimum in fact he practically worships the ground you walk on. He also is very touchy if you allow him to be—he absolutely adores being able to hold you close to him but he can understand if you don't want that.
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
Very. John doesn't have very many qualms about it the only real ones he has are that he doesn't want to make you upset or to make you scared of him so he tries to solve any problem logically and will go to bruce for help, but if all else fails he will resort to murder.
Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
John is not cruel at all, or at least he likes to think that he's not a very forceful yandere (pre-joker at least) but that's not to say he doesn't have his moments. He can and will lash out at you from seemingly nowhere. it is likely that he does so when you break the illusion he has in his head of what your relationship actually is. if you mention the kidnapping or continuously act scared of him eventually he will break and you'll get a glimpse of his darker side he won't usually hit you he just does a lot of yelling and pacing as he angrily mumbles to himself and even if it's not physical violence it can be quite scary In it of itself.
Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?
This depends on how long it's been since he's kidnapped you. He understands this is a scary situation and so he won't do anything to you the first week or so in but he can only wait so long eventually he'll expect you to start showing him some affection, your dating after all! But maybe you're not the affectionate type and that's okay he can be affectionate for both of you is what he tells himself when he starts to force hugs and kisses on the cheek he chalks up your refusal to you just being shy.
Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
He exposes his intentions and his feelings pretty quickly and he can be 'manipulated' as well so it may seem he's showing his vulnerability to you but in reality he isn't. He knows if you're manipulating him he just doesn't find himself really caring all that much because he loves you. It will take a while for him to actually be vulnerable with you (if you fought back a lot and were mean) if not then it will be pretty quick he'll open up to you about his insecurities and expects you to comfort him.
Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
Horrible he doesn't want you to fight back he just wants you to love him that's it, he will hold you down and try and soothe you if that doesn't work he might get angry and lock you In the room if you apologize and beg for forgiveness he'll forgive you easily.
Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?
No this is not a game to him he loves you and he wants you to love him back it'd break his heart if you left him and stop at nothing to get you back.
Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?
Probably john losing his temper and hitting them or murdering someone in front of them and then trying to gaslight them into believing it's their fault
Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?)
John's ideal future is having a normal relationship with his lover where they are able to go on cute dates and maybe buy an apartment together, maybe even get married one day though that'd probably be far into the future.
Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?
John gets easily jealous if you show someone else attention for too long even if he wants you to be able to have friends if he suspects either of you having romantic intentions he'll get all fussy and try to get your attention back onto him.
Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?
He acts very affectionate if you'll allow him to.
If not then he's doing things to try and impress and garner your attention towards him in a positive light he needs your love and attention and he'll do anything to get it
Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?
At first John would try to approach you normally and woo you by being what he thinks is charming. following you home because he wants to 'protect' you. somehow getting his hands on your phone number and texting you non stop he's a real creepy guy but he doesn't realize it and if you do everything to avoid him then he'll eventually just kidnap you
Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?
Yes and no, john tends to act however the person he's talking to wants. he doesn't have a sense of self or who he is or what he wants so it's easier for him to try and be whatever that person wants. However he can be a bit violent naturally which he tries to tone down for darling
Naughty: How would they punish their darling?
John's form of punishment is usually some form of isolation he doesn't like to punish you so he tries to make them very soft like locking you in a full furnished room with a few books or games to pass the time (it's not a real punishment and bane may get on him for it) if you break his trust one too many times then your rights will be stripped away slowly
Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?
He tries not to take too many lest they hate him but if push comes to shove he'll take away most of your rights most of it though is just isolation if isolation doesn't work he does the opposite you'll no longer be able to have any time to yourself or be by yourself and he'll constantly be at your side
Patience: How patient are they with their darling?
This is hard to say it really just depends on his mood that day. Sometimes he can be pretty patient but on his bad days when harley and the gang are getting on his nerves or something particularly bad happens with bruce he's easier to lose patience
Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
If darling dies John will grieve for a very long time. I don't see him moving on at all.
If darling escapes the only thing on his mind will be to catch them and bring them back so no he wouldn't move on.
Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?
He wouldn't feel that much guilt over abducting you; he only feels bad when you act scared of him because of it. I can see him letting his darling go on certain occasions like if Bruce finds out and begins to chastise him about keeping you hostage he might.
Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?
It was curiosity, something about you drew John to you and he couldn't help but want to learn more and more about you.
Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?
He hates it, he doesn't want you to cry or feel bad, he wants you to be happy with him! He'll try anything to get you to be happier
Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?
Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?
John at the end of the day can be manipulated into letting you go, he loves you very much and wants you to be your happiest so if you seem to only wither with him eventually he'll let up and let you go it'll hurt him greatly but it's for the best.
Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?
He would but he wouldn't mean to John tries his absolute best not to resort to violence but sometimes everything becomes to disorienting and he momentarily forgets what's going on
Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?
He worships the ground you walk on and the very words you speak (if you haven't pushed him to his breaking point) he loves his darling and would do anything to have them give him a fraction of that love
Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?
This depends on how you react to him suddenly entering your life in the first place if you're kind and friendly enough he might not snap until later on because he thinks he has a chance to do it normally, if you're too kind however he might become a bit delusional and believe that you already want him so he speeds up the process.
If you're cold for too long he will snap and kidnap you his excuse is that he's just trying to protect you and that you wouldn't let him close before
Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?
Not purposely, this isn't something he wants or even thinks about if I'm being honest he wouldn't ever want to break you and it'd probably ruin him if you weren't yourself anymore.

3, 4, and 18 for batstrange and 5, 8 and, and 9 for jules and chronos for the ask game!
HDBDJDB Was not expecting questions for it but hell yeah!!
Batstrange
3. Who is the dog and who is the master?
Hugo is the dog and Bruce is the master. Any hero/villain dynamic works like this; the villain steps out of line and the hero punishes them in some way (in this case, Hugo comes up with some plan to reveal Bruce's identity and/or take over as Batman, and then Bruce stops him by fighting him, gaslighting him, and/or arresting him). The difference is Hugo thinks he's the master and he tries to assert himself over Bruce, only to be reminded of his place.
4. When the roles are blurred or reversed who would be the first to die and how? Would it be by bullet wound? The phallic blade? Strangulation?
Hugo is the first to die. That's just how it plays out in canon. Usually he falls to his death but I think of those options, strangulation would be his final, ultimate death. No more coming back after faking his death again. It'd be an accident, Batman fighting Hugo, choking him to try knocking him out, but it digs a little too deep. Hugo grins and dies with the knowledge that he managed to push Bruce past his morals. Batman dies quickly after Hugo. At least until it gets retconned but whatever
18. And if the dog bit back?
This ties back to what I was saying about Hugo thinking he's the master. He does bite back. He comes back from his death alive and well with another plan to take down Batman, only for it to fail again. They're stuck in this cycle forever. The dog never learns that biting will push it down further than before.
Professor Chronos and Jules
5. Cocaine or Heroin?
Hold on I need to consult Veronica I don't know jackshit about drugs
Cocaine. The two fuel each other, Jules going through the facility to settle things between them and Professor Chronos, Professor Chronos motivated to stay alive and experiment with the hope of seeing them again one day. They're spiteful and hateful towards each other but by god is that hate full of passion behind it.
8. Who is Jesus and who is Judas?
Professor Chronos as Jesus and Jules as Judas. Professor Chronos, being a chimera, is not unlike a child of God if God in this case is science. Jules, the first and only thing she feels affection towards, the first and only thing she trusts in the facility, the first and only person she considers a friend... until the day she tries to break free. She told them her plans the day before and they manage to escape instead of dying to her hands, leaving her all alone. She can't die alone, but then they end up killing her later anyways.
9. Did Jesus want it? Did Julius Caesar know it was coming? Are the betrayed ever proud?
Yes. Professor Chronos was in pain ever since she first existed. She wanted to kill Jules but when Jules betrays her by escaping? She knows she couldn't kill them, but dying at their hands was the second best thing. At least they went through with it this time.

(Just to pre-face this, while I don't think this person is a heller, they def ship dest*el - which you could tell anyways by their arguments including "If you want a future for the Supernatural universe and want the possibility for a finale fix it, for a empty rescue, for a heaven breakout, this is where we need to start and it needs your support." - which are very clear dest*el shipper/heller arguments)
I can understand where this person is coming from, but I feel like the argument is a little naive and reductive. They've tried to do multiple spin-offs and while others have never gotten made and this one did - the problem with the spin-offs is that people don't just want properties in the "spn universe" they want Sam and Dean. That's why the others failed and TW got pushed through (they were more desperate for spn properties since spn ended and they attached Jensen/Dean to TW to try and pull in the og fandom). But to say that the "love story of John and Mary" failing automatically means no more spn ever doesn't ring true. While I think that yea, the WBD/CW probably won't waste any more money on it, that doesn't mean it won't happen elsewhere. The J2 and Sam/Dean chemistry is "lightning in a bottle" as has been stated by many in the industry over the years. So a revival with the brothers? Yea, I think other networks wouldn't turn their nose up at it. And from the rumors that are out there (huge grain of salt obviously) they are pitching it not just to WBD/CW and are also pitching it independent of CM, so even if CM goes under with TW it shouldn't effect anything. This whole post just feels like gaslighting - if you want to see any more spn EVER then you better watch TW even if you hate it (with some unnamed hints at dest*el peppered in). Thoughts?
WB is AWLAYS going to attempt spin-offs and sequels, therefore this Destiel shipper should not worry their little head over “no more SPN!”. What they need to get through their little head is there will be no Destiel or “fix it” because their numbers are so laughably small.
In other words, Destiel is not profitable.  Canonizing it will only kill the SPN merch goldmine and kill what is left of Misha’s career because he will get blamed for it.  Just ask George Clooney who is still apologizing for Batman & Robin 25 years later even though he had no control over the writing of that shitty film.
The OP is just trying to scare people to watch TW along wth people who are going to hate-watch it.
And the OP’s claim to have a marketing degree makes them no more of an industry expert than me claiming to be a fighter pilot makes me Tom Cruise playing a rather homoerotic game of beach volleyball.

He wants the Bats, so he gets the Bats. Morals and ethics are tossed out of the window and he does whatever it takes to get his dream. He just wants to know what it's like to be one of them, to have them love him. If that means taking over the city that they're so sworn to? Then so be it.

pls dump jason feelings
it is SO HARD to consolidate a coherent whatever-the-fuck-this-is. so i'm not even gonna fucking try.
jason todd is many things. intelligent, emotional, compassionate to a goddamn fault, a fuckin nerd, but most of all he is jason. he isn't just some dude who shoots people, he's not just some dude that kills people without thought, he's not an idiot who can't understand bruce's morals. he's not any of that, but that's so much easier to write than an empathetic antihero.
it's imperative to me that jason isn't brushed off as wrong, or unreasonable, or lost potential, or someone who is just...stuck. stuck, whether it be in his trauma or his death or whatever the fuck. what the hell do you think happens when shit is never addressed? it dissipates? no. and still his supposed family throws him under the bus and gaslights him and shits on him to high heavens.
jason is the one who cares. who cares about gotham in a way that bruce never could on his own. as robin, he brought light not only to batman, but to gotham too. even the parts that were "past saving". he sees injustice and he does something about it, even if there's not a whole lot that he can do. jason sees the failings in the system, doesn't want kids to lose their parents to it, knows more than everyone what desperation can drive a person to do. he's jaded, yeah, but the fact that he still tries to do something? god i love him so much.
this is the city whose system broke him over its knee. he was in pieces but quietly, quietly he picks them back up and builds himself up again. and then he was murdered brutally and brought back, but still he stayed jason todd. he’s got a few more cracks now, but he can smile and love and be loved again. he’s careful with his heart, now. holds it tighter to his chest, hides it under his sleeve. but it beats, still. it runs warm with lifeblood.
what jason doesn't seem to actually have (at least in canon) is people who give an actual shit about him. who stick around, despite his being different from what they remember/what they thought. i want him to be seen as so much more than just an asset, or someone who can be used for a shallow familial bonding moment. he is a realist, and he is so incredily intelligent and versatile and i wish that were more obvious.
i've said a lot of this before, but it's worth saying again. jason is complex, and he needs to be written as such.

How would the batboys react to a female SO with Paranoid Personality Disorder?
Hi there!
Thanks so much for the ask. I hope this is okay :)
-Sky
Bruce
As a person living with paranoid personality disorder, you might be terrified that people are out to harm you. Your place of residence, Gotham city, does nothing but exacerbate your paranoid thought patterns, since criminals run rampant through the streets. It’s hard to distinguish between paranoid thoughts and substantiated concerns. Is that sketchy person with the full face covering one of Black Mask’s False Face Society members sent to abduct you, or are they just a conscientious citizen taking extra precautions to avoid contracting or transmitting the COVID virus? Being in a state of constant fear prevents you from living your life to the fullest. Luckily, your S/O happens to be Batman in his free time.
Bruce eases your mind just with his presence. He’s probably the smartest, strongest, and most resourceful person you know and being with him makes you feel safe. Bruce is the kind of person who you’d blindly listen to during an emergency – if he told you to jump out of a burning plane, you’d do it without a second thought because he’s never let you down in the past and you’re confident that he never will in the future. If you’re feeling fearful in public, Bruce will grab your hand or put an arm around you securely and soothingly whisper in your ear that he’s right here and there’s nothing to worry about. Having paranoid thoughts means that it’s difficult to reason with you, so you probably aren’t convinced that there is no threat, but you do experience some relief from his soft touch and gentle words. He’ll ask if you want to leave and he’ll take you to your safe space. If you’re feeling fearful in private, Bruce will hold you close and rub your back to reduce your anxiety. If you’re by yourself and start to have those racing, panicked paranoid thoughts, you can always call Bruce. He’ll drop whatever he is doing and come take care of you.
Bruce will teach you self defense to help you feel more comfortable around people. He won’t arm you with any dangerous weapons because he doesn’t want an innocent person to get hurt if you get spooked. Bruce will ask if you want to move into the manor since it has strong security and comes with several vigilantes. If you would rather stay at your own place, Bruce will install a variety of safety systems to make you feel protected. He’ll even spend most nights at your place so you can sleep peacefully. Overall, Bruce is like your lifeline. He’ll know just what to do to help you through your difficult thoughts.
Dick
Dick is a social butterfly who’s had his fair share of romantic partners in the past so it’s natural for you to feel jealous when he spends time with other people. Dick will adamantly declare that he’s with you and only you. At first you might try to ignore the prickly feeling of jealousy because you don’t want to come off as a possessive S/O, but the clues accumulate and suggest that he’s cheating on you. For example, he’ll rarely spend the night with you. You’ll catch him sneaking into bed at ungodly hours of the morning. When confronted, he’ll make up an excuse that he just went to get a drink of water or use the bathroom. You’ll spot bruises scattered over his chest knowing you definitely did not leave those there. He’ll play it off as a gym injury.
When you raise your suspicions, Dick is hesitant to explain. You take this as confirmation of infidelity and you’re ready to walk out. At that point, he has no choice but to come clean about his secret identity as Nightwing. That sounds farfetched and you likely think he’s a pathological liar. Finally, Dick proves it to you and explains that he didn’t want you to be dragged into his dangerous nightlife. While you accept that as the truth, you’ll always wonder if he’s hiding more secrets. Furthermore, you’re probably pissed that he was gaslighting you. Dick will do everything he can to make it up to you. He’ll apologize profusely and in extravagant ways, be more transparent, and shower you with excessive love and affection. It might take a long time, but eventually Dick will worm his way back into your good graces.
It doesn’t take long for the green-eyed monster to rear its’ ugly head again. Now that you’re in the know, you’re hyperaware of the attractive vigilantes that Dick works with and it’s emotionally draining to be jealous all the time. You don’t want to be the type of person who tries to control their partner’s life, but when the suffering becomes too much to bear, you might ask him to stop seeing certain people. Dick will calmly assure you that there isn’t anything going on with any of his vigilante friends. If that doesn’t appease you, he’ll suggest that you hang out with the team and get to know them. He hopes that you’ll see that there aren’t any romantic feelings between them. Whatever you do, please don’t force him to choose between you and his hero life. It will tear him apart.
Jason
Trust is very important to Jason. He doesn’t trust many people as it is and needs a S/O who he can trust wholeheartedly and who will trust him in return. He believes that this relationship will fail if you don’t have confidence in each other. He’ll take it personally if you distrust him. Jason will get defensive and frustrated if you accuse him of being unfaithful, especially if you don’t have a shred of evidence to support your claims. He’ll be offended and deeply hurt that you think so negatively of him but once he’s had some time to cool off, he’ll be able to process everything more objectively. He’ll accept that you can’t control the way you feel. You’d explained it to him once that you do trust him, but there’s a separate voice in your head that tells you otherwise. Jason won’t give up on you though. He’ll come up with a proposition - he’ll agree to install a tracking app on his phone so you can monitor his whereabouts if you’ll promise to work on learning to trust him, whether it be via professional psychotherapy or reading self-help books.
On the other hand, if Jason is one of the only people you trust, he’ll be elated to know that you two have built such a strong connection. It’ll be easy to confide in him because he’ll gladly listen to your worried thoughts with no judgement. At first, he’ll reassure you that nothing bad is going to happen to you – he’s Red Hood and nobody is going to pull anything on you if they value their life. Eventually he’ll realize that trying to reason with you isn’t helpful so he’ll stick to active listening when you’re experiencing paranoid thoughts.
However, if Jason is fresh out of the pit and emotionally unstable, you two will probably bond over your mutual distrust and cynicism about the world. Although you and Jason will get along exceptionally well, it’s possible that your irrational thoughts may feed each other’s paranoia and exacerbate the feelings of mistrust and suspicion. If you find yourself unable to let things go, feel free to vent away when you’re with Jason. He is the king of holding grudges, so he’ll probably support you and even join in on trash talking that person with you when you’re angry. Learning to forgive and forget is something you and Jason can work on together. In a way, it brings you two closer together since you understand each other on a level that others can’t begin to comprehend.
Tim
Tim very compassionate and patient; however, he’s afraid of triggering you so he’s often walking on eggshells around you. He just wants to be the perfect supportive S/O for you and doesn’t want to mess up the relationship. His worst offense (in your eyes) is using ambiguous language that lends to multiple interpretations. For example, he might innocently compliment your clothes/hair/makeup and you might assume that he only likes you for your appearance or that he’s implying that you’re vain for wanting to look nice. The moment you shoot him daggers, he’s realized his mistake and starts to furiously backpedal. He tries to explain himself, but he usually ends up digging himself a deeper hole. Eventually, he gets better at expressing his thoughts carefully so that they can’t be misconstrued.
Tim diligently tries to learn your other triggers and how to help. When you’re stuck in a cycle of paranoid thoughts, Tim will get you to focus on what’s real instead of trying to make you see sense. He’ll help you relax by walking you through breathing exercises, playing soothing music, or whatever strategies you find helpful.
Tim isn’t proud of this, but he’s resorted to deceiving you when necessary. For instance, if you’re experiencing paranoid thought patterns and want to be alone, Tim will hesitantly leave, but he’ll probably secretly monitor you only because he’s worried about your safety. If you’re afraid that others are reading your mind, he might pretend that he invented an anti-mindreading helmet to ease your suspicions. He knows you would feel betrayed if you ever found out about his dishonesty, but he reasons that your safety and comfort are more important in the moment.
Damian
Arguments with Damian are brutal. No matter how insignificant the disagreement is, Damian refuses to back down when he believes he’s right. Paired with your own stubbornness and contentiousness, these quarrels generally result in an impasse. Eventually your anger subsides and the depression sinks in. You might assume that Damian doesn’t love you anymore and that fight was the end of your relationship. Maybe you start packing your belongings to move out right away. Damian comes up behind you and asks what you’re doing. When you tell him that you’re leaving because he doesn’t want you anymore, he’s instantly remorseful. He takes your bags out of your hands and proceeds to pull you in close as he tells you how much he loves you. He assures you that two people can disagree and still love each other.
Damian doesn’t want to argue with you and he certainly doesn’t want to see you upset so he’ll always excuse himself before the argument becomes too heated. He hopes that some time apart will allow you both to calm down and come to a compromise, but it’s never that simple. Most of the time, you’ll need a third-party mediator, like a therapist, to resolve your dispute. The act of seeking out a therapist will be a huge accomplishment for your relationship. Damian likes his privacy and doesn’t want someone else in his business and you might be afraid to share intimate information with a stranger in fear that it will be used against you. Nevertheless, you both want to make this relationship work, so you’ll continue to seek help.
Damian has a habit of being blunt. He doesn’t mean to criticize or insult you – in his mind, he is only stating the facts or his opinion for the purpose of helping you improve. Despite his goodhearted intentions, it’s easy for you to take his comments the wrong way and perceive it as a personal attack. If he sees that his remarks have upset you, he’ll acknowledge all the positive aspects of your performance. Still, you might cling to the disparaging comments and ignore the praise. Going forward, Damian will try to be more encouraging and constructive and will only express feedback if you invite him to do so.

18+ Jason Todd x fem!reader fic ramble.
Hey, so this is a idea i've had in my head for a while, but it won't leave me alone. I've kinda written the first part of it already? But idk if I'll finish it. I haven't worked out the ending yet either but a couple of lovely people were interested in hearing it so here goes! Thanks for the support! I'll tag you all separately.
Warnings: excessive torture, manipulation, gaslighting, rape, violence. kidnapping, interrogation, Stockholm syndrome, abuse. I dont specifically mention how old the characters are, but B-Man likes to pick them young so use your imagination to age them up a bit if you like. It's dark folks, and a super slow burn, though it might not be so bad written in brief here, but if those bother you it might not be a good idea to read it. (its hidden under the cut - PS it got super long - 2.5k words.)
You are Robin. Or, you were at least.
Batman picked you up out of crime alley, gave you a home and a purpose and trained you up to be one of the best deterrents to the crime in Gotham. You lived in the manor, and thought of Bruce and Alfred (even Dick) as your family. It's awesome and you love it!
Almost two years after donning the cape, something goes wrong. You get split up from Batman and taken by Jokers men. That night is the last night you see the sky for years.
Over the next three years, you are systematically abused, manipulated, gaslighted and tortured until you are a shell of your former self. Conditioned to obey his every whim, you micro dose of the small crumbs of affection Joker has to offer you. He gives you test after test, pushing you to your limit always in new and horrific ways. You don't hesitate when he asks you to shoot someone in the head or to beat someone to death. The consequences of fighting against him aren't worth it, you have learned that the hard way. He even doesn't always lock the door behind him and yet you don't try to escape.
You hate batman with a passion now, you regret ever having met the man, he has ruined your life and it's his fault that you are where you are now. He abandoned you. Used you for his games and then replaced you like you were nothing to him. It broke your heart when Joker showed you the footage of another Robin running along the rooftops. Your replacement. Heartbreak boiled over to fury and rage.
He passes you around his acquaintances, particularly Johnathan Crane who is eager to test his new strain of fear gas out. Under the gas you see the Bat sacrificing you again and again to get what he wants. If Scarecrow takes advantage of you while he has you in a vulnerable state, no one cares enough to stop him. He wants to know who the Bat is, but you know that telling him will put Alfred in danger and you'll do anything to avoid that
(Thankfully the joker doesn't want to know who the bat is, you're not sure you could defy him like that anymore.)
Then one day, a body gets thrown into the small cell you are kept in when joker doesn't want to play. Its a Robin. You panic, fear and anger confusing you while joker laughs in your face. You know it's another test but you can't figure out what the rules are.
This is where the fic starts. It's about Jason Todd's slow descent from a vibrant punk who loves being Robin to the dejected, abused shell of a boy who hates the caped crusader and will do anything Joker tells him. You know it'll happen, because that's what happened to you.
Only, Joker never does the same thing twice. Even if it works. You don't want to get attached to the boy, but birds of a feather and all that jazz.
Highlights (or lowlights) include:
Having to share a small confined cell with Jason.
Arguing about the Joker and escaping
"Don't you want to leave? Crazy bitch."
Finding out that Batman didn't even tell Jason about you:
“Why would he come for you anyway, huh? What makes you so special?” “I’m Robin. We’re partners. We’ve been through all kinds of shit together. We’re like this.” “Pah. You really believe it too, don’t you? Ya poor sap.” “What do you mean?” “Why go to the bother of finding a dumb punk like you when he can just make a new shiny Robin instead?” “He wouldn’t do that.” “He’s already done it. You ain’t the first.” “That Robin moved away, he’s doing his own thing now.” “I wasn’t talking about him. I meant the other one.” “What other one?” “The other one.” “There aren’t any other ones – I’m the only other Robin that there’s ever been.” “You motherfucker!”
Beating the shit out of Jason in a blind rage because he won't stop talking about how Batman will come for him.
“How long have you known Batsy for huh? If you know him so well.” “Nearly three years. How long have you known him huh? Oh that’s right – you don’t” “What? Three – Three years?” “That’s what I said. Look, I know this is scary, but I trust B-Man. He’ll come for me, we’ll kick all these guy’s asses, take Joker back to Arkham and get you out of here too. It’ll be okay, you’ll see.” “B-Man?” “Yeah, Batman.” “Shut up.” “What? Why?” “I don’t want to talk about him anymore so shut up!”
Jason finally figuring out who you are when Joker comes to punish you for denting his new toy.
Joker calling you pet names while manipulates you and you being terrified the Joker is going to replace you too
“Oh. Pumpkin, it’s alright. I thought we agreed we were over this, no? Batsy kicked you to the curb a long time ago. It’s old news! This shiny new toy of ours is your replacement.”. “What? You’re replacing me too?” “No, no no. I’d never dream of doing something so barbaric, Sweetheart. That’s the Bats’ M.O. You’re mine for keeps. I would never be that cruel, would I?”
Jason taking his anger out on you:
“Why do you hate B and not the Joker? He’s the one that’s doing this to you. He shipped you off to Crane and you didn’t even fight back.” “You have no idea what you’re talking about.” “No, I know exactly what I’m talking about. You’re screwed in the head. You’re a joke, you’ve given up. Some Robin you are. A real Robin fights back. You don’t deserve the title.”
Joker making you put your Robin suit back on to fight Jason for his amusement. Jason hesitates in the beginning but kicks your ass every time.
Jason trying to comfort you but being bad at it.
Joker asking your opinion on you what you think will break the boy:
"When he gets replaced. Show him."
Weeks of being beaten then long stretches of being left alone with Jason with no instructions.
Catching Jason staring at you when he thinks you're not paying attention.
Joker being caught and taken to Arkham so you both get knocked out and transported there too.
Joker ignores you the entire time he's there as he's being watched to closely, the separation sets you off into a panic when you think about it too much.
Most of Arkham is in on you being kept there. The prisoners who know about it are paid off by being able to play with you - and now Jason too.
Jason thinking in Arkham he would have more chance of being able to escape.
You being subjected to more of Crane's abuse and different types of gas.
Jason being brought back to your cell after being tortured by calendar man and offering him comfort for the first time.
Being cut open and tortured by Zsaz.
Huddling up in the abandoned wing of Arkham for warmth and comfort.
Remembering that you had met before, years ago in the Narrows before Batman took you to be his adopted daughter.
Jason taking care of you while you recover.
Giving Jason advice on how to cope and get through the different villains taking revenge on you.
Jason being hurt and tired and snapping at you, causing an argument where you lash out at him:
"I had to go through this all on my own, dickweed. I didn't have anyone to hold my hand and tell me I wasn't going to die. So fuck you! God forbid I try and help your sorry ass."
Jason being tortured by two-face and seeing Batman and a new Robin visiting Arkham. They don't hear him scream for them to help. It breaks his heart and his will to fight.
You knew it would happen, but seeing it first hand makes your heart break for him. You didn't want to be right. You hate Batman more for what he's done to Jason than what he's done to you.
"I was right there (y/n)! Right there and he didn't even look at me."
Talking about Alfred and how much he means to you both.
Thinking you might actually have feelings for Jason after all.
Being transported back to the compound when Joker finally breaks out of Arkham again only to be in separate cells.
Having major separation anxiety from not being able to tell if Jason is okay.
Joker being jealous of your attachment to Jason and doubling down on his control over you.
He tries to take you outside and you panic so badly you beg him to take you back because you're terrified of what being free will mean.
Joker telling you that you failed his test by getting attached to the boy. He tells you that he's going to kill Jason to teach you a lesson.
Being put back in a cell with Jason to find his face has been branded and he's just so utterly void of any hope or any life.
Sitting next to Jason in the cell with your head on his shoulder.
Jason knowing he's going to die without you having to tell him. His voice is quiet and resigned, almost with a shred of relief when he says:
"He's going to kill me soon, isn't he?" "I'm going to miss you, Jason Todd." "I'm glad I got to know you, (Y/N). I'm sorry I couldn't get us out." "It's okay."
You kissing his cheek as you drift off huddled together for the last time.
Joker forcing you to watch as he beats Jason repeatedly with a crowbar, ignoring your defiant cries and struggles for him to stop.
"Which hurts more Little Red? Hmm? Forehand? Or Backhand? I think (Y/N) would like to know!"
Joker blaming you for having to kill Jason:
"And all because of your silly school girl crush. What a waste. I'm very disappointed in you, Dolly."
Being dragged away screaming from his lifeless body and thrown into the back of a van just in time before the building explodes.
That's the first half. For the second half to the ending, I haven't quite figured out yet. I've got a few ideas, but I can't decide what would fit better, feel free to help me out here.
Batman could find her after all this time, new evidence being uncovered during the explosion and in his grief about finding Jason's body he could question that he never actually found yours. Of course then you'd be homicidal and try to kill him, resulting in you being locked in another cell, this time in the Batcave. You'd get to scream at him about all his failings and what a terrible person he is though so that could be cathartic. Alfred (And Dick a little) manages to talk you back to some kind of sanity but you are forever changed by this. You meet Red Hood at a later date: on your way to find an egg and cheese sandwich when someone pulls a gun on you. Seeing you again jars him out of his own homicidal rage long enough to care about the girl who he couldn't save, giving the BatFam an opening to reason with him some.
-Or-
Joker keeps you hidden away and the Bat still has no idea you even exist. It stays that way for two more years where you eventually become completely numb to everything he or his acquaintances do to you. Joker eventually gets bored at the lack of reaction and in his boredom he gets careless. A new vigilante takes it upon himself to blow up to compound and best all Joker's men, he escapes but the vigilante doesn't chase after him and instead he finds you. You resist his attempts to save you, knowing how angry Joker will be so instead, Red Hood punches you in the face, knocking you out. He carries out into the night and you wake up somewhere new and he tries to help unravel the fuck ton of issues you've got while dealing with his own. He'll probably enlist the BatFam to help once he's done wanting to kill them, unless you can talk him into killing the Bat together, after the Joker dies of course.
-Or-
One day, maybe a year after Jason dies, Joker decides he's bored of you and gives you one last curveball. After more than 6 years of being isolated and abused, you wake up in an alley on the streets of Gotham, alone. Abandoned again. After several panic attacks and not knowing if it was a test and that you should run back to the Joker or going to find Alfred because he's the only person in the world left that you trust, you decide to leave Gotham altogether. You make it out and somehow navigate your way to having an apartment, a job and even a quiet life in Bludhaven, away from the Bat and the Clown and the nightmares. Except that one day, while you're drinking your morning coffee in a café, Dick Grayson sits down opposite you. You're stable enough not to react immediately, and Dick seems to really care that you're alive and well. Turns out that the Bat found out about you and decided to leave you alone this whole time (which only serves to double down on your feelings of abandonment) Only the joker is out of control and they think that you could help them by giving them an insight into how the joker works. They've got a new Vigilante to deal with too so they're stretched pretty thin. You flat out refuse which is when it turns out it really wasn't a request. You are taken back to Gotham and confronted with the BatFam, helping them reluctantly when Red Hood breaks into your new apartment, demanding information. You argue, and it feels too familiar, setting off a panic attack when he ribs you about your complicated relationship with the Joker. Identities are revealed and you work together to take down the Joker.
The epilogue to this saga would be some time after any of those options.
Both you and Jason finally in a healthier place where you can actually acknowledge what has been growing between you two since you were paired together all those years ago. It's not a neat and tidy happily ever after, it's messy and full of arguments, fears and misunderstandings but it's also full of tenderness, softness and love. And the sex is really good too.

You know what I am really fucking tired of seeing in popular media?
The "evil, hysterical woman in power" trope. The clichè that potrays women who are in a position of power as overzealous, unhinged, power hungry maniacs who are a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.
Female leaders are shown as less resonable and down to earth as their male counterparts, and are often villainized by either the fandom or the narrative of the story itself. They are doomed to fail because of their womanliness and need to be taken down before they enact their evil plans, preferably by a man, or a woman who performs the 'right' kind of femininity.
This trope relies on the sexist misconception that women are more fragile than men, more emotionally unstable and unpredictable.
"Women aren't cut out to be leaders, they should be nurturing and supportive and tend to their families. Having higher aspirations is against their nature and will eventually break them and drive them crazy."
That type of bullshit that was designed to keep women out of leadership positions and keep oppressing us. To keep us quiet and submissive.
Here are a few examples to further explain this stereotype:
Tumblr media
Daenerys Targaryen is one of the most well known characters to fall victim to this trope. She is an abuse and rape victim, seeking to change the current social and political systems of the world because she knows how many people suffer under its injustice. ("Crush the wheel.")
For all her compassion and charity she has shown over the series, the writers decided that it would be reasonable for her to go crazy at the end of the show and, despite promising she wouldn't inflict more damage than necessary, kill thousands of innocent people whose government had already surrendered to her.
And guess who had to kill her in the end? Yup, another man. Her love interest, who was "forced" to betray her.
Tumblr media
Next, we have:
Tumblr media
Morgana Pendragon, from "Merlin". To remind you, she is an abuse victim who had to endure her father's controlling behavior and bigoted attitude towards people with magic abilities which, suprise suprise, she turned out to have. She had to watch as her father murdered and oppressed people just like herself, and when she challenged that behavior, he would come down hard with punishment. (Going so far as to actually throwing her in the dungeons for a couple days.)
Eventually, she rebelled against the corrupt system and had her genocidal father killed. She led a rebellion against Camelot after Uther's son (Arthur) continued to oppress magicians under his reign, and sought to create a better future for herself and her people.
So far so good, right? Well, no. The problem here is that she is the antagonist of the story. She is portrayed as being in the wrong for not quietly taking the injustice and watching it happen.
Halfway through the show, she becomes obsessed with power and status and desperately chases after the throne of Camelot. She is extremly vindictive, manipulative and cruel to others to archieve her goals. She is a "hysterical woman" who is out of control, emotionally unstable, challenges the patriarchy, and therefore needs to be defeated.
Her death was portrayed as tragic, yet absolutely necessary.
Tumblr media
(Of course it had to be a man who killed her.)
Tumblr media
Azula is the epitome of this horrid, misogynistic trope. She is a fierce, ambitious leader and highly skilled fire bender, respected and feared among her people. She is highly driven and succeeds at almost everything she sets her mind to.
Ever since she came into this world, she was better at everything than Zuko. She was a better fighter than him, a better bender, better strategist, better child. And that is precisely the reason why she had to lose in the end.
Despite coming from the exact same circumstances as Zuko, the story and the fandom at large see Azula as way less redemable and likable than him. Even though she is an abuse victim whose own mother hated her and is a literal child soldier, she doesn't get any sympathy from the protagonists of the story. The otherwise so understanding and wise Iroh even calls her "crazy", (which is, if you've done some basic research into misogynistic expressions, really fucking problematic.) and tells Zuko that there is no saving her. Why? He doesn't tell, but it's obvious that the writers made him say this because of their own internalized sexist beliefs. She isn't offered a way out of her toxic environment like Zuko was. She didn't get the support from Iroh because he had already given up on her.
To top it off, she has a nervous breakdown near the end and loses her remaining sanity. Because, you know, "She's craaaazy!! And SO unstable!! Typical woman." (Not to mention how this further stigmatizes mental illness and portrays it as something only evil people get.)
She was supposed to become the next fire lord, a position that carries utmost power and influence. Of course, such authority could not be given to a woman. That's why Zuko, a man, gets to be the next fire lord, and we are left assuming Azula will be spending the rest of her days in prison.
The writers assume the audience detests Azula and wants her to suffer. She doesn't deserve a happy ending, or the love and support that Zuko got.
Why? Because she poses a threat to the status quo, the patriarchy. She challenged the belief that men had to be the best and most efficient at everything they do, that women could indeed be better leaders and be happy with having a career and not be nurturing, motherly figures to the men in their lives. And for that transgression, for breaking gender stereotypes, Azula was punished.
(It's also why Katara, someone who performs the "right" kind of femininity by being nurturing, motherly, supportive, healing, doting, and is the care taker of the group, ends up taking Azula, the evil and perverted form of femininity, down. I believe @batboyblog has made a similar post about this.)
Tumblr media
This is Carmilla from the popular Netflix show "Castlevania", and if you've payed attention to my previous points, it should be pretty obvious what her character represents and how her story ends.
Note that she is also an abuse and rape survivor who is represented as evil and cruel for being angry at what was done to her.
To top it off, she is also an example of the man hating woman stereotype, whose anger at the misogyny and sexism of the world is portrayed as an "overreaction" and as "too much".
Tumblr media
At the end of the story, she had to be taken down by another man (Isaac) so that the status quo could be preserved, and the reign of a crazy bitch like her could be stopped. Horay, the day is saved from yet another unstable, selfish woman who would have brought suffering and pain over her country if allowed to rule. Hysterical women with their demand for equality.
Conclusion:
In all these examples, we can see female abuse victims thriving for power and status, for respect, being represented as something negative and something to avoid. Trying to fundamentally change a system that is rigged against women/female representing people is a fruitless endevour that will eventually fail and drive us crazy, because our minds aren't strong enough to handle this type of responsibility and status.
Holding on to anger and bitterness over what was done to us is the sign of a bad person, and the only morally acceptable path is to forgive/ignore our abusers and let the injustice continue to happen.
Strangely enough though, that same gaslighting, victim blaming mentality gets almost never applied to male characters. Men who seek vengeance are never portrayed as weak or crazy for giving in to the wish of changing a corrupt system/killing bad people. (Batman, the Punisher, Hawkeye, John Wick, Jason Todd, Erin, Scar from FMAB, Iron Man, and so on)
The reason why these stereotypes almost never apply to men but almost always to women is sexism. There is no other explanation for this. These tropes were specifically designed to make society believe that women aren't cut out for leadership positions and are happiest with domestic, easy tasks like watching after our children and taking care of the household.
Women who are angry, women who are dominant are to be feared and distrusted. They are represented as a danger to the general public and need to be taken down before they enact their evil plans.
Feel free to add further examples.

The Criminal Psychology Majors, Jason Todd x Fem!Reader Part 21/?
Word Count: 1.5k
Author's Note: Y/N - Your name
Hello! I'm back! Time for drama!
Idk if this is coming out at the right time, I deadass forgot what day it is and ughughughyh
Warnings: Swearing, Discussion of Mental Illness (undiagnosed), Injury Description, Taunting, Attempted Gaslighting, Attempted Manipulation, Kidnapping, No beta bitch we die like Jason Todd (I've missed saying that<3)
(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4) (Part 5) (Part 6) (Part 7) (Part 8) (Part 9) (Part 10) (Part 11) (Part 12) (Part 13) (Part 14) (Part 15) (Part 16) (Part 17) (Part 18) (Part 19) (Part 20) (Part 21)
Jason was stumbling over his words after telling Y/N that days were blurring together. When a decently loud crash was heard from the lower level of the Wayne Manor. Jason perked up, getting up and trying to stop Y/N from following him down the stairs.
Which was too late. When they turned to go down the hallway, they were both whacked off the back of their heads. Knocking the two of them out almost instantly. Y/N took a few seconds to catch up to Jason in being out, catching a glimpse of the fight going on down the hall. She thought it was Stephanie trying her best to fight off her attacker. But soon enough her vision blurred and blacked.
She fumbled herself awake in the room. She couldn't even take away anything from the room, it was just sawing and turning colours in front of her. She didn't notice anything in the room, the lights were blinding, she didn't even know if it was lighting.
"You're awake," she said.
And then it clicked. That was Aria's voice.
----------------------------------------
Days before the kidnapping of the Waynes.
Aria sat in her office. Clutching the book her twin gave her for Christmas. It was a journal, with details talking about the schedules of the Waynes. If only Y/N had known that the journal she lovingly gave her sister would end up the way it would.
She had doodles, floor plans, schedules. Everything. She wrote it all down from extensive stalking of the Waynes. She was not going to fail at kidnapping the Waynes. She was going to do it, get the ransom from Bruce, and possibly meet heroes. She was going to fight everyone to death who tried to rescue them.
She knew the morning after a Wayne Gala that the entire family would be off-guard. She knew they owned weapons from the fact of the attacks from September. So she had to catch them fully off-guard to pull off their plan.
She looked at her mask. She knew her sister had seen the mask, the cloak. She was still considering off-handedly that she should revamp it all, make it so her sister couldn't call her out. Maybe add a voice changer? She really didn't know.
If it came down to it, if she had the time, she would do it. If not, she would just hope that her sister didn't recognise anything. Crazy? Yes, she was. The brightest lightbulb in the box? Not a chance.
She went over her plans again, adding them to the massive board she already had of the Waynes. The red lines linking all of them, the paparazzi photos. She didn't realise she was that crazy. She didn't realise that she was that much of a cliche.
She thought this was normal. She thought this obsession was okay. She looked at the photos on the wall and the red lines thinking that this was perfect.
She didn't think her sister would even be bad at her for this. She thought her sister would understand, she would get it. She would forgive her and move on. She would understand her need to get close and with the vigilantes and the heroes. She would understand the need to befriend the villains and crooks.
She would. Aria swore she would.
She heard of the Wayne Gala occurring in a few days. She would prepare her weapons when she found out. Shine her scythe. Polish her guns. Polish her daggers. Clean her cloak. Only touch her mask with gloves on. Hour barely appeared in the sight of the vigilantes. They knew she was planning something.
She hoped that fact would make them come for her further.
"Ma'am?" one of her goblins asked.
"Yes. What do you want."
"Lexcorp is hiring," they shook.
"And? Relevance."
"Alter ego, ma'am."
"Noted."
"Ma'am?"
"Get... out!" she screeched.
"Yes ma'am," they said as they hurriedly closed her door.
Yelling was normal for the army she led. She would yell at them at any moment. For no reason.
She thought this was normal, too. She didn't realise people didn't yell at each other for no reason. She was raised to be yelled at. Y/N and Aria were always yelled at.
Y/N used the yelling to turn herself for the better. She thought of it as good parenting that she wouldn't replicate, ever, but she understood it.
Aria had a god complex. She only felt like she was worth it for 30 minutes of the day. And those 30 minutes were thrown into her work as Hour. She refused to work unless she was feeling her best, but if she was planning on kidnapping the Waynes, she'd have to learn to fake it.
Fake it all, fake nothing, fake everything. She was going to do what she wanted, maybe she'd extend those few and fatal 30 minutes of power into hours, into days. She didn't want to feel like this anymore.
She thought about how she was going to kidnap her own sister, her own flesh and blood, and possibly hurt her.
She pushed those thoughts away.
She refused to acknowledge the pain she was going to cause. She hoped there was none.
Y/N would understand, right?
---------------------------------------------
Aria groaned, getting up in her childhood room, the one she shared with Y/N. She blinked and tried to cling to her sleep, but to no avail. She was visiting their parents.
She looked over to Y/N's side. Her favourite colour painted the walls she had, all the woods matched. It looked far less messy than Aria's side. She figured it was because she was mentally ill, but not Y/N. But then she thought she wasn't mentally ill, and that Y/N was. Aria couldn't be mentally ill, she was doing the right thing.
The thought still pained her. In a few days, she'd be putting out a ransom for her sister in the news. She'd be threatening her life. She'd be putting her under stress and their parents under stress. If she was caught-
No, she thought. No chance.
----------------------------------------
Present-day.
"Aria?" Y/N questioned, basically in disbelief.
"Shut up!" Aria boomed back at her, "You," she said, lifting up Y/N's head with her long claws. "You are my prized possession."
"Prized," she echoed back.
"Don't worry, love," she said. Y/N winced, she knew her sister called her that. She didn't want to think this was her sister. "You will be just fine. If your parents pay up, that is."
"My parents don't-"
"Did I say you could speak?!"
She shut up. Fuck, she thought. Fuck this. Fuck you. I know that's you, Aria. If you can hear me, I hope you rot.
She didn't even know if that was how she felt. Her brain was spinning, like someone put her on a merry-go-round and left her there, to pick up the pieces. She didn't know how to pick up the pieces of her broken heart. She didn't want this to be her sister, her flesh and blood, the person she shared a womb, a room, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles- she didn't want it to be true!
"Maybe you want to know why I'm doing this," Aria asked the air while pulling Y/N's head up again. "Well, love.
"This is what happens when you date a rich man.
"This is what happens when you flip off the press.
"This is what happens when you find yourself wrapped up in the mess known as the Justice League Association, do you know who they are?
"Of course you don't. They're Batman, The Flash, Green Arrow, Superman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, Black Canary, Aquaman and more.
"And their proteges, oh my God! Their proteges! You have Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, Robin, Batgirl, Spoiler, Orphan.
"And then Kid Flash and Impulse.
"Arrowette and Speedy.
"Superboy, Supergirl.
"Miss Martian.
"Wondergirl and Artemis.
"Aqualad.
"These people, my dear. These people are my nemeses. And I want them gone!" she maniacally laughed, "Dead! All of them!"
"You're... You're Insane!"
"So be it!" she yelled back, striking Y/N's face with her claws. The blood running down her cheek along with her tears. "If I'm insane, then at least I get paid!"
She laughed and left the room.
And there Y/N was, alone in a room where she couldn't even make out details, with blood running down her face. While she was aware that her attacker may even be her little sister. She was terrified. Petrified. Scared.
She wondered where the Waynes were, maybe they were all together? So that she could use them for ransom, maybe she couldn't use Y/N for ransom, so she was left alone in the room.
She wanted to know if they were all safe. Jason and she had only been dating for 6 months, but she did care- love- every member of the Wayne family so much. And she knew that most of the kids struggled with mental illnesses.
She knew them being alone would be detrimental to their mental health.
She also knew that she had no way, no way, of getting to any of them.

Tumblr media
Her role in Harvey Dent's past was updated into the currently prominent Two-Face origin: Batman Annual #14 (1990), a story called "Eye of the Beholder."[9] In this story, it is revealed that Dent's father was an abusive alcoholic who would nightly play a game with his young son: "I'll flip a coin: if it's heads, I beat you. Tails, I don't." Dent spends a lifetime burying his rage and resentment, only to discover that the coin was two-headed all along. While Dent is torn between loving and resenting his father, Gilda clearly despises him; she scoffs that after a lifetime of abuse and cruelty, the only thing Dent's father ever gave him was a coin.
Gilda tries to comfort Dent as his sanity deteriorates. She pleads with him when, upon awakening from a nightmare, he races out of their bed in the middle of the night and goes to his office, "where it's safe". After Harvey is disfigured, Gilda visits him in the hospital to try to give him back the coin. It was in his pocket during the trial, and was also hit by some acid, scarring one side of the coin. She last appears in this story right after Two-Face murders his corrupt former assistant, Adrian Fields, tearfully explaining Dent's abuse history to Batman.
Gilda does not reappear until Secret Origins Special # 1,[10] where she (here named Grace) appears on a TV talk show focusing on Gotham's villains. She talks about a time when one of the criminals Dent put away as D.A. returned for revenge by taking her hostage. Two-Face eventually rescued her, beating the ex-con to the point of death, but holding off because Grace demanded he stop. This represents a rare case where Two-Face is not influenced by the coin, but rather by someone else's welfare. She tries once again to appeal to his "good" side, but fails. At the end of the interview, she professes her belief that, one day, Dent would return to her.
Gilda returns in Batman: Two-Face Strikes Twice.[11] Here, she finds herself at odds with her now-ex-husband, as he believes their marriage failed because he was unable to give her children. She later marries Paul Janus, a reference to the Roman god of doors who had two faces, one facing forward, the other backward. Two-Face attempts to frame Janus as a criminal by kidnapping him and replacing him with a stand-in, whom Two-Face "disfigures" with makeup to make it look as if Janus has gone insane just as Two-Face had. Two-Face is eventually caught by Batman and sent away, and Gilda and Janus reunite. Years later, Gilda gives birth to twins named James and Luke, prompting Two-Face to escape once more and take the twins hostage, as he erroneously believes them to be conceived by Janus using an experimental fertility drug. The end of the book reveals a surprise twist; Batman learns from Gilda that Janus is not the father of Gilda's twins - Dent is. Some of his sperm had been frozen after a death threat had been made against him, and she used some of it to get pregnant. Batman uses this information to convince Dent to free the twins and turn himself in.[12]
Post-Zero HourEdit
Gilda Dent destroying incriminating evidence against her husband Harvey Dent in Batman: The Long Halloween. Art by Tim Sale.
After the events of Zero Hour: Crisis in Time, Gilda's entire history has been revised. She has a larger role and story arc in The Long Halloween,[13] a maxi-series that is part of Two-Face's origin in Batman Annual #14. During the nearly year-long story, a serial killer called Holiday systematically murders prominent gangsters. During the series, Gilda's marriage to Dent shows signs of strain; she wants to settle down and start a family, while he is obsessed with capturing Holiday. In a private monologue at the end, Gilda states that she was the original Holiday killer, having committed all of the murders up until New Year's Eve. Gilda indicates that Dent murdered Alberto Falcone on New Year's Eve, taking her place, and that he was the one responsible for the crimes from that point on. The confession is only known to readers, since Alberto confessed to all the Holiday murders upon his capture. Gilda destroys the evidence of her crimes and leaves Gotham City.
Due to the success of The Long Halloween, the events of the story have generally been accepted into continuity as the "official" story of Batman's early years, given that Zero Hour retconned the events of Batman: Year Two and rendered them non-canonical. In Batman: Dark Victory, the Calendar Man is about to reveal Holiday's true identity, but an enraged Two-Face cuts him off.
In Greg Rucka's novelization of Batman: No Man's Land, Dent thinks that Gilda is dead.
Post Infinite CrisisEdit
In the "One Year Later" story arc Batman: Face the Face, Dent mentions Gilda when recalling his past life, but the Two-Face persona states "No, Harvey. She's gone now".
During Dick Grayson's tenure as Batman, she appears standing over a wounded Harvey Dent. The Riddler reveals that she faked her death and was institutionalized following The Long Halloween, where she met Mario Falcone, who suffered a similar breakdown following the event of Dark Victory. After getting involved upon their release, Falcone kept Gilda like a prisoner, and she conspired with the Riddler to steal Two-Face's coin and entice him to rescue her. Knowing that Falcone was on Dent's tail, Gilda faked Harvey's death by appearing to shoot him at point-blank range. When they were finally reunited, she explained how much she missed him, and that she now believed in Two-Face as well as Harvey Dent. Feeling betrayed and manipulated, Two-Face tried to kill her, but hesitated, only to be stopped by Batman. To save Harvey, she shot Batman with a .22, knocking him out and allowing them both to escape. Her ultimate fate remains unknown, and Dick even expressed doubt that she was in fact the real Gilda Dent.[14]
New 52Edit
In the New 52 reboot, Gilda is a socialite that Bruce Wayne introduces to Harvey at a graduation party. She is killed in front of Harvey by Erin McKillen.
Other versionsEdit
FlashpointEdit
In the alternate timeline of the Flashpoint event, Harvey Dent has a wife and twin children. When the Joker kidnaps Dent's children, Mrs. Dent is emotional while her husband asks Thomas Wayne (the Batman of this timeline) for help in their search.[15]
In other mediaEdit
FilmEdit
A Victorian era version of Gilda appears briefly, without dialogue, in the animated adaptation of Gotham by Gaslight.
Gilda appears in the two part animated film Batman: The Long Halloween, voiced by Julie Nathanson.[16] In this version of events, Gilda takes the blame as the Holiday Killer, motivated by her anger at the Falcones after she had a past relationship with Alberto that ended with Falcone ending the marriage and forcing Gilda to get an abortion of her and Alberto's child.
TelevisionEdit
A character analogous to Gilda, Grace Lamont, appeared in Batman: The Animated Series, voiced by Murphy Cross. In the episode "Two-Face", she is D.A. Harvey Dent's fiancée. Alongside Dent's best friend Bruce Wayne, she watches helplessly as Dent loses his grip on sanity while going after gangster Rupert Thorne. After Dent is disfigured and becomes Two-Face, Thorne plots to use Grace against his new rival. A couple of Thorne's men disguise themselves as police officers and offer Grace a handheld tracking device, in case Two-Face ever approaches her. Two-Face eventually does, bringing her to his lair and wearing a scarf to cover his scars. She nearly succeeds in persuading Two-Face to reform, when Thorne's men show up, revealing that Grace inadvertently betrayed him. Nevertheless, Grace helps Batman and Two-Face fight off Thorne's men, and remains by his side as he is taken into custody with Thorne.
MiscellaneousEdit
Grace returned to animated continuity in the comic series The Batman and Robin Adventures issues # 1 and # 2, where the Joker manipulates Two-Face into thinking that Grace and Bruce are having an affair.[17] Two-Face abducts her and tries to kill Robin, but is ultimately thwarted when Grace jabs the jagged edge of the scarred coin into the disfigured side of his face. The story ends with the implication that their relationship is now damaged beyond repair.
Grace appears again in The Batman and Robin Adventures issue #22, in which Two-Face's life is thrown into chaos when he loses his coin during an unplanned breakout from Arkham Asylum, and is forced to replace it with a quarter. Little Jonni Infantino, the mastermind behind the breakout, threatens to hurt Grace if Two-Face doesn't provide information on one of Rupert Thorne's thugs, Weird Tony Hendra, whom Two-Face prosecuted as Harvey Dent.

HELLO, IN THIS ESSAY I WILL TALK ABOUT RIDDLER AND DO A COMPARISION WITH A POP CULTURE BRAZILIAN CHARACTER AS WELL.
.
RIDDLER is a fascinating character. He can be portrayed as silly, or menancing. A gentleman with finesse and complex schemes or a completely mess who doesn’t really know what to do, but hey here’s 10 dolars for solving my riddle! Also Spandex! And Question Marks!
My Favorite Edward is the one from @askarkham. There’s  lot of thing I like about him, but the one that resonates with me the most is this:
Tumblr media
Ronnie, how dare you give me feels!
Because I’ve been there, my anxiety sometimes fills my head with so many things it’s overwhelming.
I am a lot better know with therapy and stuff.
But before treatment I too, soo many times, cried the same phrase.
That really touched me
Sooo
That’s why I’d like to talk about my fave villain who is very similar of another beloved character here in Brazil, who shaped every childhood here. (And I do get a little pride at showing my people’s comics, they’re great!)
A lot of other characters reminds me of the riddler. Like Wheatley!
@canadian-riddler made an wonderful analysis of the two characters.
I’ll poorly describe them: Polite and condescending, friendly enough until he get’s high advanced technology. Then he wants to put you through puzzles and puzzles and if you keep getting it right he will try to murder you with one of them.
But the character that reminds me of Riddler the most is:
Tumblr media
Jimmy Five (English) Cebolinha (little onion) Cebola (onion) from Monica’s Gang/ Turma da Mônica
His main traits is his ingenuity, his five pointed hair and his dysdalia (pronounces R as L)
@drdeath did na wonderful analysis of Riddler and he’s motivations, and both these characters personality and motives matches a lot.
Cebolinha is a kid who gets in lot of trouble. He’s a very smart and clever kid, always bragging about he’s superior intellect, and creating “infallible plans” (who always fail) to defeat Mônica and earn the title of “owner of the street”.
Cebolinha also messes with Mônica to get her attention and for fun, calling her names ( he has a little crush on her, and in Turma da Mônica Jovem they’re dating) and he has almost a compulsive desire to knot the ears of her rabbit plushie.
Mônica’s main way to deal with the boys name calling is hitting them with her blue rabbit plushie (though the also gives them advice and uses other ways) which hurts a lot because she has super strengh!
Even though he has been beated numeours times Ceblinha never gives up. Believing he deserves the title of Owner of the Street, yet a lot of he’s plans fail because he understimates Monica’s own cleverness.
Despite everything the two kid’s consider themselves friends, and don’t hesitate to protect each other. We have a movie about the group of kids helping cebolinha to find his dog, floquinho.
Tumblr media
A lhasa apso that for some reason is GREEN.
Turma da Mônica Jovem.
Tumblr media
These comics are about the characters as teenagers. Cebola grew to be na expert with comouters, games and technology, he went to a professional and now only speaks L intstead os R when his nervous.
Batman notices it (but it’s another comic for another time)
Now he wants to take over the world to make it a better place.
He’s cleverness and plans saves his friends through the many and dangerous adventures they get themselves in.
Yet he’s been called out on his manipulations.
One of the earlie sagas was about the ID Mosters, the physical manifestations of the group worst traits and impulses.
They manifested because it’s in the teenager years that kids start to get more emotional changes, and start to be aware of their impuses and control them better than when as kids by developing their emotional intelligence.
Cebola’s mosters is a Liar and master manipulator who uses his charms and skills to get whatever he wants. And the kid had to deal with his shame and realise he is and can be a better person than in he was in the past.
Maybe Arkham should try the “fight the physical manifestation of your Id” it seems to work.
Important scene in the Saga.
Here Red Monica is Monica’s ID monster disguised. Humilliating Cebola. Later the Real Monica confronts him, thinking he’s sending fake messages  to make her look bad. So he feels he’s being gaslighted.
THEN HE BEGS HER TO BEAT HIM.
Tumblr media
C: Mônica...No... I will do anything...I
Cellphone*Sending to all contacts*
RM: Tomorrow you will make another  sign, and will do my homework too! Or else... I will send your other love notes so everyone will laugh at you.
C: I thought that we...
I thought that...
I thought that you liked me!
RM: And I Like! I like when you do what I SAY!
Tumblr media
M: CEBOLA!
Speak now! What nonsense is this!
Why are you saying such things about me. Did you decide to go back to the old plans?
Why are you lying,Cebola?
C: BEAT ME UP!
Go on, Mônica! Beat me up already! It was better when you beat me up!
C: Because being beated up by you doesn’t hurt s much...
As what you’ve being doing...
NOW! Of course emotional manipulation hurts more than being punched.
And what was the blackmail: Humilliation
Tying it with the Riddler: Edward surely feels that being beaten up by Batman hurts much less than the humiliation of being defeated. That’s also why he goes on and on with puzzles and plans even though if he fails he will physically hurt.
Because he’s already hurt! He already feels humilliated! And that’s the worst pain he’s ever endured and is still going on.
Back To the comics.
Later in the comics, He and Mônica confessed his feeling to each other, but Cebola explained he can only date her after defeating her.
He does get called out on it in later editions.
Tumblr media
C: Mônica...I...
M: Why illusions of grandeur, Cebola? Why do you believe you need to be superior than me?
Tumblr media
C: Superior? I don’t want to be above you, Mônica!
I want to be equal! Sice childhood you’ve been strong... confident...the leader...
While I always was the changing-letters kid who got beaten up at the end.
Okay, Edward Nigma wants to be above Batman. But most of the feelings is the same.
Eddy sees Batman as strong, and confident and a leader. While he’s the one who’s humiliated and beaten up.
Tumblr media
C: You don’t realize it, right? You have no idea how hard it is to stand at your side...
Without feeling small.
I think I’m giving a little fuel to batriddle shippers... oh well.
As you can see, like Riddler, Cebola feels that he needs to prove himself, needs to prove he’s worth, to the point of delaying everything else in his life until heachieves it.
So my analysis is complete. BEHOLD!
HEADCANONS
I found a fic that I still wanna read called “Dinner at Wayne Mansion”, I get Riddler made the highest bidding in Bruce Wayne at the Bachelor Auction.
It reminded me of that comic where Eddie tried to trick Batman into dining with him.
I think this universe riddler would totally do the auction thing just to talk all night long with Bruce Wayne, and his projects and stuff. All happy and giddy. “Oh Bruce, how are the kids doing?”
Edward lowkeys wants Bruce Wayne to adopt him.
Come on DC! Give us na alternative universe where after his first crime and Batman finding out about he’s abusive household, Bruce decides “Okay I’m gonna raise this young man”.
Stephanie LOVES her Big Brother Eddie! He beat up her abusive dad (Cluemaster) and humilliated him with trivia knowledge and stuff.
I think one thing that should be explores is Riddler as na expert magician, he is a master escapist because he loves houdini, and magic employs cleverness and illusion.
He’s a geek for magic tricks.
He shows them to Harley and Jervis who look bright eyed and “Oooooooh”
Firefly asks if he knows fire tricks
He does and promplity shows off his skill.
Then John has to clean out the entire hideout because Edward fell for it and now Garfield knows there are flammable chemicals here.
Final Thought.
Well, there’s ANOTHER brazilian character that he reminds me of.
Tumblr media
Visconde de Sabugosa  (Viscount of Corncob) from  The Yellow Woodpecker Farm
Ginger like lots of adaptations
Soul patch
Green tux
He’s main trait is his intelligence
differences
HE IS A LIVING DOLL MADE OF CORNCOB!
@jonathan-cranes-mistress-of-fear
@weyoun
@askarkham
@drdeath
@frommylack
