Queer Witch’s Manifesto 2.0 (2023)
(Written in 2021 originally sourced from another manifesto online, this was adjusted for my own needs back then, now updated again to better fit the needs of 2023 and so forth. Finished this edit up for the Full Super Sturgeon Moon of Aug 1st ~ 3rd 2023, as I re-investigated my life’s values and what made up who I am for my 32nd solar return on July 24th. Enjoy. If this echoes true with you, you are allowed to use this manifesto for yourself too. It is open and free to use and change as you need. Take care. -O) ---- There are INFINITE genders or lack thereof and sexual identities. Each one deserves the same space and respect as the next. Each one brings something unique and necessary to a circle should they choose to share their magic with us. We are not limited by binarism. White supremacy upholds ideals and expectations that harm EVERYONE and must fall. Christo-fascists seek out only furthering this harm in our communities. We must NOT let it continue. Even though white supremacy harms everyone, white people must not center themselves in discussions or plans for taking it down. We must center the voices of those most marginalized by white supremacy first and foremost Because we are fighting white supremacy, queer magicians must work hard not to appropriate sacred religious tools, artifacts, aesthetics, practices, or deities that do not belong to us.    Sex magic is powerful, beautiful, and queer. It should not be censored. Like anything sexual, we must hold up the idea that informed and enthusiastic consent is mandatory.    Our queered-up version of sex magic also fights rape culture, patriarchy, heteronormativity, and cisnormativity. Though we are anti-capitalist we recognize the constraints of the society we live in and know that money magic is often critical and empowering for those living in the margins. We recognize that the Goddess does not equal “womb worship” and that ANYONE can invoke “Goddess energy.” Goddess energy is intersectional. We recognize that some witches may have physical, emotional, or mental limits that cannot be overcome with spirituality. We welcome these witches to bring their whole, real and authentic selves into a magical space and cast spells in a way that works best for them. Magic is not diminished by disability. Disabled witchcraft is powerful, immeasurably so. All bodies are capable and deserving of magic and joy in their lives. We recognize that individual traumas may need to be healed before we move on to collective work. Global climate change is killing us all and we MUST protect and heal the Earth. Hierarchies do not work in a queer magical context. We are equals even if our jobs differ. MAGIC IS A TOOL FOR PERSONAL HEALING THAT LEADS TO EMPOWERMENT. This empowerment enables us to focus on social progress, empowering others, and collective liberation.

It’s so frustrating that there are a good junk of people practicing witchcraft that are extremely transphobic. Same goes for the people that just can’t seem to inform themselves for more than 5min and constantly appropriate closed practices.
I just wanna make some friends with a similar believe system, obviously not 1 to 1 and I am open to learning more, keeping an open heart and mind, but human right issues are not a discussable matter in my eyes.
Same goes for the people that are straight up in the new age to white supremacy pipeline *That is sadly very prevalent back home*

I don't dream of a future where little girls grow up wanting to be ceos, or lockheed martin scientists, or soldiers, or whatever a human recourses developer is. I dream of a world where girls grow up wanting to be occultist practitioners, and sex workers, and unhinged artists, and boys.

I've seen people calling Aiden Thomas a transmed author (mostly cause some transmeds like to claim his books), but if you followed Aiden Thomas on social media you'll see this not the case, also I think the reason why a lot of white transmeds resonate with his novels like Cemetery Boys and The Sunbearer Trials, has nothing to do with Aiden Thomas's writing and more to do with the fact that Aiden Thomas writes stories about LATINO trans men, and for a lot of white transmascs the message went way over their head.
In my own personal experience as a latino trans guy I relate much more to Aiden Thomas's work then to most other transmasc authors, because Aiden knows that it's a lot easier for us to internalize those toxic ideas of gender. Toxic masculinity is prevalent in latine culture it has it's own damm name "machismo". Therefore it's a lot harder for us to come to the realization that there's nothing wrong with our bodies and the problem stems from the way society views them. To add to that just as toxic masculinity is so over enforced in latine culture so is toxic feminity, so many of us feel the need to present very femininely before we finally decide to start presenting as ourselves. So once we actually come out and start presenting as male we try to compensate for that. On top of that growing up latine and afab means you and your body gets sexualized a lot more often. Mostly by the white supremacist stereotype of the curvy spicy Latina.
With all of that I can easily explain why when I read The Witch King, a novel about a white trans guy, when Wyatt said that he doesn't have a problem with his body and it was the way that people saw him as female, I personally couldn't relate.
But now going on the the actual content of Aiden Thomas's work (I will only be touching on Cemetery Boys because I haven't finished the Sunbearer Trials 😅).
Yadriel starts the novel with a lot of internalized transphobia which he's not even aware of. This is because at this point, he is the only queer person he knows, and he's surrounded by people who see him as different for who he is. It's not until he meets Julian, another queer person who has interacted with many other queer people. It's not until Yadriel starts talking to Julian and his friends that he starts realizing that everything he was taught about what it means to be a man is bullshit by the end of the book while I'm sure Yadriel hasn't 100% gotten over his internalized transphobia, he set on a path to unlearn it.
Aiden Thomas isn't a transmed author he just writes about the trans experience from a perspective that is often overlooked.
Closing off I would like to set the record cause as a latino trans author that's currently working on a novel about a latino trans boy mc. For any transmeds who wanna claim my work, it's not for you.

I know a lot of us will be migrating away from Tumblr if they do away with the chronological dash, so here's a link to the Anarchist Pagans And Witches Discord server I'm a mod for. Despite the name, leftist witches, pagans, and occultists of all stripes are welcome. 💕

Obligatory Pinned Post
Hey y'all I'm Madeline (she/her). I've created this blog as a way to document my reconstruction journey. I hope that as I write and think that someone who also believed they had to leave because either they are queer or questioning or lost someone dear to them can resonate with my story.
This is a side blog, and I will follow from an old main account called linniewritesficz.
While I often contemplate going to seminary, I only have a minor in Religious Studies. I do not claim to be an expert or a clergy person and will not operate as such.
I believe in therapy, but I am not a therapist. I will attempt to offer advice when I see fit but please always seek out a professional.
I also don't refer to myself as a Christian. This is for many reasons, but I am still very new to my reconstruction journey. This will probably change in the future, but as of now I label myself as a spiritual person.
I am also a practitioner/mystic and am learning how to syncretize that practice into my re-emerging faith. I'm reading a lot about St. Hildegard at the moment.
I am queer. It is a big part of my identity. This is a pro queer pro trans blog, and I will not tolerate any form of homophobia or transphobia.
This is also a pro choice, pro palestine, pro BIPOC, leftist blog. I believe in healthy discourse and respectful discussion, however zionism, islamaphobia, anti semitism, racism, or any hatred/discrimination for people who are historically marginalized will not be tolerated.
I'm so excited to engage on this journey and document it in a way that makes sense for me. I hope to connect with like-minded people and find the community I needed a long time ago.

April 8th, 2024 New Moon Total Solar Eclipse Manifestations:
This celestial event is in the sign of Aries, the zodiac’s symbol of release & rebirth, taking action, endings & new beginnings, resistance & revolution. This eclipse is a prime time for humanity to do the work to abolish oppression and manifest universal peace, love, compassion, joy, healing, and liberation for all.
Under the power of this eclipse, We are focusing our thoughts and actions to manifest an end to the oppressive old world during this 21st century to bring in a new world and reality of universal peace, love, compassion, joy, healing, and liberation. We are all awakening to the divinity that lives within each and every one of us, inspiring us to take action to recycle the old oppressive world and transmute its negativity into the new universally liberated world that we all long for.
During this 21st century, We will put an end to the ongoing Palestinian genocide and colonization of Palestine, as well as the Zionist regime, Christian nationalism, Christian supremacy, Christofascism, and more. All individuals, organizations, corporations, and entities that enable Palestinian (and all other) oppression will have their influence, resources, capital, and power banished from them; these enablers will also receive sufficient divine punishment for their numerous crimes.
The Collective will continue to awaken, being enlightened with divine light, wisdom, and spiritual clarity. We are all open to channeling and transmitting the loving, peaceful, and liberating energy of the divine for the highest good of all! We will no longer support any individual, organization, corporation, or entity that enables and supports any form of oppression. The Collective is screaming for Palestine, Hawai’i, Turtle Island, Aotearoa, Congo, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Lebanon, Turkey, India, Iran, Iraq, Australia—DURING THIS 21ST CENTURY, EVERYONE WILL BE FREE TO EXPERIENCE THE UNIVERSAL LIBERATION WE HAVE ALL WORKED FOR!
With the renewing power of this eclipse, We the Collective will abolish all forms of oppression that run rampant throughout our universe, including the colonization of Turtle Island, Aotearoa, Palestine, Australia, and other lands; slavery, violence, land theft, war, crusades, genocide, cultural erasure, ecocide, racism, sexism, queerphobia, xenophobia, capitalism, classism, ableism, poverty, mass hunger, homelessness, and more. All these forms of oppression will cease to exist in the new reality of universal liberation thanks to the perseverant efforts of the Collective.
Humanity and all other organisms that We share the earth with (with the help of our ancestors, spirit guides, deities, what have you-) will collectively do the work to manifest us all a reality of universal love, peace, compassion, joy, healing, & liberation; this reality includes ecological restoration, land back, and decolonization; liberation of all indigenous peoples, cultures, lands, and languages; abolishing all forms of religious and spiritual oppression including sexism, queerphobia, xenophobia, racism, colonization, “mission work,” compulsory spiritual conversion, genocide, and more; abolishing capitalism and all other oppressive economic systems; promoting food sovereignty, climate change mitigation, and poverty reduction through local sustainable farming and foraging, native agroecology, agroforestry, and regenerative/indigenous farming; making sure everyone has a healthy home; taking care of ourselves *and* others; ensuring the survival of rural communities; ensuring the survival of all life on our planet.
In the 21st century of this Age of Aquarius, the Collective will ultimately manifest the abolishment of all oppression and the creation of universal peace, love, compassion, joy, healing, and liberation.
And it is so.

How to be an omen (Part 1)
Do you ever feel like you want to be representative of the mysterious forces that are signaling the inevitable impending doom?
Well look no further! Here are five basic steps to making yourself into an ethereal being with the capacity to stir deep unrest into the hearts of the wicked.
Step 1: Be anything but the norm.
I cannot emphasize this enough. In order to fully live up to your potential, and truly create fear in the hearts of men, you have to be different. People hate anything that is different (though I can’t fathom why). So in order to successfully be an omen, you really have to make yourself scary.
Wearing black and dying your hair a bright color is sometimes a good place to start. But don’t worry if this is not your aesthetic! Anyone can be an omen. As long as a conservative white man is afraid of you, you are successfully doing your job.
Step 2: Make a list of mysterious sayings
The best human omens are ones that can cause discomfort by having the perfect response to normal conversations. Think long and hard about what makes you an omen. This should help you prepare for your conversations with the afflicted. Your existence itself is sign enough that the end is nigh, but how you represent that is entirely up to you!
Step 3: Frequently look off into the distance
In order to fully accept yourself as an ethereal being, you have to ensure that you do not come off as too engaged. A great way to start is to practice immersing yourself in your innermost thoughts. What truly lies beyond the surface, deep down in the pits of your soul? What kind of horrors within you will make the gods shiver and quake at the sound of your name?
Step 4: Commune with nature
Nature is an important part of being an omen. Crows and cats are known for their innate abilities as creatures of darkness. Immersing yourself in nature is a great way to embrace your new status. If you live in the city, you may still have access to wildlife. Start by feeding the crows. Then become friends with the crows. When you feel comfortable, unleash the storm of crows upon your enemies. Finally, become a crow and complete your transformation into a chaotic force of the universe.
Step 5: Have fun and be yourself!
The most important part of being an omen is to remember that at your core, you are already an omen. No matter what happens, you are a force to be reckoned with. Your existence is already scary enough to cause fear in the hearts of the wicked, and powerful enough to fight the gods. Don’t let the petty evildoers bring you down, because you are our chance at making the world a better place.

i have something precious i want to share with the world: kindness, hope and unconditional love.
there's so much hatred and apathy in the world right now. so much disgust and repulsion between everyone. if you, like me, are tired of looking at the state of this world -- maybe you can stand up for what's right.
maybe you can empower yourself, heal yourself to be a leader of your own life. maybe you can turn to those who pose challenges in your circles and argue back, fight back, change the world one person at a time.
i believe to heal Nature, to reform society so we treat everyone with respect and kindness, and to progress past capitalism, we need to each change the way we behave and think. on a deep level. we need to nurture a sacrality for not just Nature, but people. everyone. even that bigot you hate. even that radfem that sucks. even that ableist who hurt you.
but to do that, we need to feel safe, comfortable and sacred within ourselves first. we need a community of leftists that are like-minded, and willing to use the arts to promote change and transform the world.
maybe this all sounds too good to be true. maybe you're doubting yourself, or me, and don't want to take any chances. but i'll say one more thing: you are never obligated to do anything.
i'll leave a link a here, just in case this resonated.

I don’t know why but I feel today is a great day to remind everyone that the Salem Witch Trials were not caused by the presence of witchcraft (which was not being practiced) nor by bread mold (they knew about ergot poisoning, and while they might have blamed it on ‘witches’ the way they did other misfortunes IF IT WAS PRESENT, it wasn’t enough to cause a panic on its own). Nor was it caused by an ethereal miasma of vague misogyny. Misogyny certainly played a role, both structural and ideological, and most (BUT NOT ALL) of the victims were women.
But what really caused the Salem Witch Trials was a conservative backlash in response to economic anxiety. The earliest accused were often vagrants or otherwise impoverished women who offended the residents of Salem by asking for mutual aid and charity from them. This was in a religious context that required the citizens to grant aid, but America traces its ethic back to the Puritans for a reason; work and private property were valued, community and mutual aid were not. How to get rid of the problem of vagrancy without either giving away any of your stuff or your moral high ground? Well, there’s one charge guaranteed to stick…*
From there accusations ballooned to include well-off townsfolk, particularly widowed or otherwise uncontrolled women, whose stuff the accusers wanted. Giles and Martha Corey were known to be outspoken and argumentative, and had been in a decades-long property dispute with the neighbor who accused them. Of course, these two complementary economic motives fall short of explaining all the accusations; the heightened religious fervor, conservative attempt to consolidate and reassert power, and increased interpersonal animosity in response to social and existential pressures, all contributed to the spread of the phenomenon.
But ultimately, the Salem Witch Trials were the crisis of a community that lacked the culture or infrastructure necessary to sustain itself. Fierce individualism, the refusal of the duty of care to vulnerable members, rigid hierarchy, and authoritarianism: these were the preconditions of the tragedy. External pressures, especially in the form of resistance by the indigenous to colonial encroachment, also played a role.
Just interesting history facts, nothing to see here.
*I don’t mean to imply here that every accuser, or even most, were consciously scheming. I’m trying to clarify motives that they themselves may not have been aware of.

When you met your girlfriend in college she was studying to be a wizard. It didn't suprise you that much, there were a lot of magic majors at your school, and the city that your college is in has a lot of companies that hire wizards.
As time went on you started to realize she was become a very specific type of magic user. Her spells are long, taking yo hours of her time, longer then any other major user you know, and they're draining. She says she's always been interested in magic since when she was a kid, but this particular type of magic isn't something anyone gets into because they find it exciting, it's the type of magic you get into because it pays the most. You understand why she chose this, it's hard for wizards, for anyone really, to find work nowadays.
Your apartment isn't very big so you can hear her trying her spell from the other room every time, straining herself, sometimes screaming, spending the weekends of her youth alone in a closest trying to pull off these impossible spells, with purposes that normal people don't even care about. When you told two freinds you have who are wizards from diffrent specialties of magic, necromancy and illusion, what kind of spells she was doing, they became really afraid for her, and said that they hoped she transfered to a diffrent specialty before she was locked into this path. Every time you hear her screaming from that room you want to grab her and save her, let her rest and enjoy her world, but you know that you can't.
It gets worse once you graduate and while you start working as an artist, she gets hired on by a big company that could use wizards like her. You don't leave the city you went to college in so your freind group doesn't really change, but you realize that all of your freinds start talking about her in the past tense after that. You don't have to deal with hearing her funnel magic though herself in your apartment anymore, but instead you're spending days not really seeing her when she's at the office, and comes home later then you're asleep.
When you do see her, you notice her body getting worse. She was always skinny but now her body has lost so much weight you can see her ribs. Her skin is paler then it ever was before, and her eyes are almost bloodshot. Strange symbols even start appearing on her arms. You're starting to get really worried for her.
Most of the time you spend with her is just her recovering from her work. You'll lay with her in bed, and cuddle her, and let her rest her head on your breasts, and try to make her feel safe and warm, even though her body is so very cold now. You let her talk to you about the things she used to tell you about when she first met, she still loves telling you about video games, or obscure magic lore, though the latter is a bit more of a sore subject now. You watch cartoons with her a lot now, and old anime, they seems to be some of the only things that let her fully escape.
You have to be the one to cook for her, and to get her things, she's just to tired to do most things outside of work. But you still care about her, you try your best to comfort her, to pet her head, and to kiss her. She can't really have sex with you anymore, the spells have killed her libido, killed her ability to her physically aroused, but you end up wanting to cuddle her a lot, and hold her close while you have her. You try to ask if she's ok but she says that she is, that she can't stop doing this. Every time she leaves for work you want to save her, and every time she leaves she can't.
When you ask your other wizard freinds about what she's actually doing with her magic, to try and get some comfort about what's happening, they explain to you what it is. It's a type of magic their teachers taught about but warned agaisnt, that has to do with letting spirits and entities from other realms, sometimes really powerful ones, possess you for a long time, useally to talk and answer question. The necromancer specifically explains that it's useally used by companies to get knowledge about things that they want to know for their business strategies, it's why they pay so much for someone to be hurt like that. Knowing doesn't make you feel any better, it just makes you feel like she's being even more violated now.
Eventually your girlfriend tells you that she got another job opportunity out west, but it's somewhere she doesn't want to see you stuck living. She tells you to stay in the city, and that she'll text you and call you while she deals with this new job. She barely ever gets any chances to text while she's out there, and never calls. She's just able to communicate with you less and less, until she's fully gone.
You're working as an artist in the city now. You have a new partner. You sometimes think about what your old girlfriend is doing, you like to pretend that she got out of everything, that she doesn't talk to you because she found someone new. But you know that in reality very few people in that field actually make it out, and very few manage to stay fully human, it's quite unlikely she's any different.

It feels ironic that I’m writing, but I really don’t give a shit. I feel like it needs to be put out there for my own mental health.
I’ve been a Norse Heathen for 5 years now, and I love my religion. I love the connection I feel with my deities. I love having them there to talk to and support me, and I love all the esoteric weird bullshit and borderline paranormal “woo shit” that comes with being a Pagan.
Which the majority of the Heathen community look down on out of a sense of arrogant self-righteousness and an absolutely massive inferiority complex.
Because Heathenry — as the ancient Norse would have practiced — is a dead religion. Everything we know about it comes either from extremely biased 13th century Christian scholars, cishet white historians, or whatever practicing Heathens pieced together post-1900 following the invention of Asatru in Iceland.
There’s no historical proof that Heathenry was practiced as it is today.
And because Heathens can’t stand the idea of being compared to the gullible and deluded Wiccans—
Note: These are not my personal beliefs. I don’t believe (all) Wiccans are gullible and deluded. The above is a statement based off of my own experiences in the Heathen community cause guess — I used to be a Wiccan. So I’ve experienced this bullshit stigma firsthand.
—The vast community of reconstructionalist Heathens have decided that every aspect of our religion has got to be
A biggest dick contest.
People are constantly trying to one-up each other like,
“Oh-hoh, look what I just learned that makes me vastly superior and absolutely must be true because this vaguely translated 12th century tome that I bought off eBay says so!”
And as if that wasn’t bad enough, a lot of the shit recons are putting out there is racist, anti-LGBT bullshit. So, of course, Heathenry automatically comes with a crash course on how to not be brainwashed by faux feminist white supremacists and literal fucking Nazis. And the fact that the Nazi population has not only been steadily growing since 2018 but has also managed to successfully infiltrate “safe spaces” intended for queer and BIPOC Heathens
Is not exactly what I’d call a win for the Heathen community.
Because there is no community. There is no sense of unity in the general non-Nazi Heathen community at large. Because the recons are all busy being like,
“You can’t do that — that’s NOT how it worked 4,000 years ago! And that God only has a name and a single monolith in Norway. So you can’t worship them, either, cause we’re smart and we said so.”
And when someone does notice that some fucking weird potentially harmful shit is up in the community people are just like,
“Well, we’d look into it but that particular cult of Heathen eugenicists doesn’t seem to exist on Tumblr. So we’re just gonna wait for them to make their way here and see what happens. Now, if you don’t mind I’d like to get back to translating this cave painting that was found a year ago in Iceland.”
And its fucking bullshit. Like there could be — and is — an actual fucking Nazi takeover taking place and reconstructionalist assholes will be dogpiling someone because they bought a fucking Ouija Board or a piece of fucking rose quartz cause they thought it might make them happier.
Recons, what the fuck is with you people? The Heathen community is a fucking nightmare. You are killing this community while Nazis are driving people to commit fucking suicide.
Get your fucking shit together.
